In short

The Hauraki Big Show discusses starting a “bicycle gang” after host Mogi buys a vintage 10-speed bike; they also cover Metallica tickets, TV/movie recommendations, weather (“atmospheric river”), golf/Movember charity, Kiwi Pong beer pong, and a comedic toilet story.

Guests

No named guests appear; it’s the regular hosts only—Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue, and Keezy (Keyzie/Mogi refers to the other host as “Mogi”).

Key claims

Mogi’s 10-speed is “40 years old” but “original” and a “head turner”; Keezy explains an atmospheric river as a “river in the sky” transporting water vapour; they claim to have “invented” the phrase in a playful way; they report 70% of entries want Team Big Show for a Movember golf match.

Notable examples

parallel parking for ~30 people; Ric Flair documentary “Nature Boy”; dinner texts (burritos with rice, schnitzel with cabbage, stuffed baked potato with pork belly); Kiwi Pong World Series on Nov 29 at Sweatshop Brew Kitchen.

0:00The Hauraki Big Show. Thanks to crave-worthy street food. Freshly made with Reburger. Welcome, this is Big, to The Hauraki Big Show. Really Big. With Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie.

0:17Keyzie:Oh, g'day you mad boss. It's great to have your company this moody Tuesday afternoon. It is the 18th of November 2025 and you my friends, as always, listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Re-Burgure. Beef, chicken, vegan, and vegetarian options too. Re-Burgure. Redefining the norm. Re-Burgure. So good. You know, I had a special treat today. Old Moogie. Arriving at work on his new bicycle, drenched with rain, his T-shirt pressed against his beautifully sculpted body, his nipples poking out. God, I thought I loved my job. G'day, Moogie, you stallion.

1:09Jase:G'day, hoity jizzbot. You mad dog there, eh? You sick son of a bee. I tell you what, those nipples today, they were rock hard, brother. Rock hard. It was weird, too, because you had a jacket on. To begin with, I was just wet. Yeah. But then I laid eyes on you two backbones and...

1:32Jase:Rock hard. Going pretty good today, man, despite the fact that it's been a little bit rainy. Still warm, we're still in summer, and I'm absolutely thrilled, and I'm stoked because I've got my new bicycle, fellas. We're going to get into that a little bit later. Boy, are we ever. I'm frothing. Yeah, man.

1:47Keyzie:Hey, Keezy. Keezy. Hello. With your corduroy jacket there. That was a mouthful. looking very queefed and put together today. What does queefed mean? Queef. You don't know what queefing means. That's another word. Well, you've described me as queefed. Queefed. Queefed. Queefed. How are you spelling that? C-O-I-F-F-E-D. What does that mean? It means very put together. Oh, thanks, mate. Very sort of nicely put together. Thank you. Because you said queefed. Yeah, because you look very queefed as well. I'm pretty damn sure I didn't say that. I don't even know what's queefed. I don't know.

2:25Jase:If anybody's got any idea out there, please text us on 3483 or give us a ring radio at 0800 HODACI. I've got no idea. Yeah, I think Hoity Joe's just hit him what it means. He's just remembered because he said it eight times and now he knows what it means.

2:38Keyzie:Yeah.

2:39Jase:It better not be dirty, otherwise I'm going to be fuming.

2:41Keyzie:We're going to analyse the tapes. Hey, Mogi, what's coming up on the show, you stallion?

2:48Jase:What's happening on The Big Show with old Mogi? Bloody exciting day for us today, fellas. Hoity J later on the show is going to be talking us through his driving prowess as he attempts to parallel park in front of about 30 people. We can't wait to hear that story. Not only that, but you're going to talk us through an atmospheric river. Am I? I wonder what that is, Jase. I thought, who better than you? A little bit of weather chat there as well. And I've got my new pushbike, fellas, or as I like to call it, a bicycle. Bicycle mogey. And I just think it's something that could be a new hobby for us, the fellers, you know.

3:23Jase:We could get out there on our own pushbikes and have a little bicycle gang. So I'm just going to have a chat to you about that coming up next. How good, man. In the meantime, here's Radiohead Creep. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

3:37Keyzie:Metallica there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this miserable Tuesday afternoon in Auckland City. The time is 14 minutes past four o 'clock. And before we get into bicycle chat, fellas, I'm imagining a few people out there fizzing about the Metallica gig tomorrow night, getting prepared as we speak, probably.

3:57Jase:Yeah, I've got a mate that's coming up from the Manawatu with his son and his missus and a whole bunch of others, and they've had to get accommodation in Hamilton. My God. Wow. Because all of Auckland is just booked out, seemingly. Fire out. So that'll be a bit of a pain in the arse, wouldn't it? I offered him to stay at my place, but he wasn't keen. Yeah, fair enough. Yeah, I get that. I understand that. Massively jealous, by the way, of everyone going to Metallica. I've seen them before. One of the best, obviously, Billy Joel 2022, best concert of my life. Second best, Metallica 2010. Yeah, well, I've seen them a couple of times before, and they are unbelievable.

4:33Jase:I don't know why I haven't got tickets this time. Somebody said - Yes, I'm surprised. They said there's still tickets on sale. I thought it had completely sold out. So I'm thinking to myself, maybe I've just got to get a ticket. Do I just got to get a ticket? Well, it also helps that Bec in the office there right now, her and Kate are getting along to the gig. Kate, who works in the office, literally isn't a massive Metallica fan at all, but was like, I feel like I need to go see Metallica live. Yeah, I'm kind of tempted to do the same and especially to take my wife along because she doesn't share my taste in music, but what my plan has always been over the last 10 years is, or 12 years, is to take her to see all the bands that I like live because it always changes her mind.

5:12Jase:Right. So when you can see them live, it's like, oh, holy shit, these guys are amazing. So that would be good. Have you taken her to see Rage Against the Machine? Well, they haven't been out here since she was probably 12. Yeah, right, okay. What about Creed? Have you taken her to see Creed? Oh, yeah, we've seen Creed a few times. I mean, that was how we got together.

5:29Keyzie:I mean, I'm filthy at myself, fellas, because I have Metallica in my top three. Yeah. Top three what? Bands of all time. Wow. Who are the other two? Oh, probably Pearl Jam and Wetleg. Right. So, yeah, there's just been so much going on. It's just slipped my mind that Metallica is in town. Massive own goal from Hoody J.

5:57Jase:I think we can probably get you a ticket. I'd be prepared to get you a ticket, Chase. I'll show you a ticket. I mean, I'd love to go, but I can only afford one ticket, so I'd be happy to buy you a ticket, man. Why don't you do that, and I'll buy a ticket for your wife, and you can both go. because I didn't realise how much you loved Metallica. If I'd have known, top three, that's like crazy. Oh, you can't miss that, man. You have to go. They're probably not going to come back. Absolutely, you've got to go. Well, that's that sorted. We just had a text here on 3483. Someone's offering up a free double pass for Hoity J.

6:20Oh, there you go.

6:21Keyzie:What day are we talking?

6:22Jase:It's tomorrow night. Ah, bugger. And Thursday as well. Oh, damn it. And Friday. Oh, what? They're going to be here on Saturday. You're busy all those days. Unbelievably, I am. Which day are you not busy?

6:37Keyzie:Next week's looking pretty good Okay, James Hetfield's just texted in Of course you know who that is Yeah Yeah, who is it? Well, do I need to point it out? Yeah, obviously, lead singer of Metallica there, front man He said, yeah, they're happy to do a gig that night Next week? For Hoity J, yeah What day? You name the day, man, he's ready to go Oh, that's looking pretty grim too, actually But let us know if you're going to the Metallica gig and certainly tomorrow on the Thursday show we'll be finding out and getting reviews as to how it went down, fellas. We've got your favourite track from Metallica now, Jase.

7:12Keyzie:Oh, great. Oh, this is a good one, isn't it? Such a tune, man. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Foo Fighters here on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon, 25 minutes past four o 'clock now. As I mentioned at the top of the show, it was quite the sight today as Mogi rode in on his new bicycle. Absolutely drenched he was, which was quite an attractive sight, I've got to be honest with you. But what was even more beautiful was the specimen that you bought last night. Did you buy it last night, Mogi?

7:50Jase:I bought it last night, man. Yesterday we were having a chat about the fact that I need to buy a push bike. I've got a new office. I don't want to drive into the city anymore. It costs$12 for a half hour of parking now. That's a lot of money, man. Madness. It's madness, Keezy. Madness. So I had a look online and boom, there it was, man. I remember these 10 speeds from back in the day. I don't even know if anyone has bikes called 10 speeds anymore, but that's what they were called back in the day. And they've sort of got, it's a healing 10 speed. Now, if you're about 48, 49 or there or thereabouts, you'll remember these things.

8:23Jase:They've got the hooked front handlebars, which I don't think exist anymore. and it's just an absolute weapon of a bike. It has taken me down memory lane. I saw it on Trade Me last night. I paid$150 for it. I went and picked it up and the guy said that everything on it is original. Wow. Which suggests to me it's probably a death trap. So I've got to get some kind of a service done on it. But fellas, I've been riding around on it today and it's an absolute head turner. People love a man on a push bike, a man on a bicycle. Can I just say, during the songs before, while Metallica was playing, I went out to the office there and grabbed a glass of water, and I actually took the healing 10-speed for a quick lap.

9:05Oh, you did. Down there and back. Yeah. The seating position is very similar to, I think it's called the It bike off an episode of South Park. Ah, right. Where you are leaning right forward, and the seat is really high. It is. And your hands are down very low on the old school handlebars. It was a bit of, it was great, I enjoyed it. It gets right up there.

9:26Jase:Now, you're absolutely right, Kesey, what's happened there is the seat is too high and I think the handlebars are too low for me. I'm going to lower that seat a little bit so I'm a little bit more straight across. And if I want to get into racing mode, I just drop my hands onto that lower bar. You know, I put them right down there and then I'm off again.

9:40Keyzie:What I loved, because I was sitting in the studio as you arrived and you cycled past the studio windows there, It looked like you were in doggy when you were sort of pounding the – because your butt was high up in the air. Because the handlebars are sort of so low, your butt was really hanging out there.

10:00Jase:And you should see me when I sort of – if I'm going up a hill and I have to stand up on the pedals and I'm going to doosh, to doosh, to doosh. Yes. So, yeah, it's a sight to behold. But I was thinking, guys, fellas, that is, maybe you guys should get bicycles as well because I've got a bicycle. And it's pretty cool. But I was thinking if all three of us had bicycles, and Pugs as well, you can have a bicycle, man. Oh, I don't think Pugs would suit a bicycle. Why not?

10:24Keyzie:It doesn't give me those vibes.

10:26Jase:Then we could all go out and ride our bicycles around and just sort of hang out and sort of punch darts and chew gum and, you know, throw stones at old ladies and that.

10:35Keyzie:Would you guys be cool with that? Man, you look so cool today. That was one of the things that went through my mind. I went, could I? Could I be part of Mogi's bicycle gang? because you've got a bike, haven't you, Keezy? A bicycle. I've got a couple of bicycles. Yes. Mon and Dom, my parents, they gifted us their old mountain bikes. They upgraded to e-bikes. Oh, nice. As, you know, future retirees do. So I've got a bicycle. Yeah. Ready to go. My wife does as well. So it's like, what is your bike? Mine's a mountain bike. Bicycle. Okay. It's a bicycle. You see, the only issue I have, because yours is built for speed.

11:08Keyzie:I'm going to be pretty quick. You guys are going to have to struggle to keep up. I don't know what I should run with. You know what I mean? Because you're not very good on a bike, are you? No. Have you thought of getting a tricycle? Oh, that's smart. Like one of those little plastic blue, yellow, and red ones that the kids use, you know the ones? Yeah. Yeah. A Rally 20, remember those? Oh, yeah, there you go. A Rally 20. Just Rally, yeah.

11:36Jase:We used to call them Rallys as well.

11:38Keyzie:Oh, right.

11:38Jase:The Rally 20. Yeah, yeah.

11:40Keyzie:Because I definitely want to be part of the bicycle gang,

11:43Jase:the Big Show Bicycle Gang. You could get an HMX 500. That was a BMX. Oh, was it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why don't you get something from your era, though, like a penny farthing or something? Jase. Or a horse. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

12:06Keyzie:Green day there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is 4.38 and we're talking bicycles.

12:13Jase:That's right, fellas. I've got myself what is probably close to a 45-year-old 10-speed, a healing 10-speed, and I've got it so that I can get around to work and all that sort of stuff. I don't have to be in a car anymore and find parks and get absolutely robbed. And we're having a chat, and we thought maybe we should start a bicycle gang. Yes. Well, the thing I like about this is I already have a bicycle. It's a mountain bike. Yes. My dad gave it to me. It's his old one. And what I was picturing is, Jase, if you got a bicycle, whatever it might be, you know, insert joke here if you want. I'm not going to.

12:49I'm above that. Well, you did suggest a penny farthing. Yeah, well, I mean. And then a horse. Probably have to be more of a pony or something, wouldn't it? Yeah, it'd have to be. One of those little ones. It'd need to be a miniature. A miniature. What I was thinking was, because you live way out west. Yes. Like really far out west. So you could leave first for work on your bicycle, come past my house, which is sort of just on the cusp of the city, but sort of west, I guess you'd say. Yeah, yeah.

13:18Keyzie:I worry about getting mugged there. But anyway, yeah, yeah. And then you come up, you pick me up. I hop on my mountain bike. Yes. And then we ride down the Western Motorway. We stop at Pugs' house, pick him up in Mount Eden. He hops on his bicycle, maybe a BMX or a tricycle, whatever, probably a unicycle.

13:34Jase:Yeah. It's a sort of wacky thing Pugs would like. and then we then ride to Mogi's house, and then we all ride in to work together. Yeah. That's what I was picturing. I'd be keen. Yeah, sounds good.

13:44Keyzie:I'm still no clearer, because I've been on the interweb, just looking at bikes and stuff and what would suit me, and I'm still no clearer, fellas, on what I can use.

13:54Jase:Well, 3483, if you've got any ideas for a bike for Horty J and Pugsun, the other thing we've got to work out is what's the name of our gang going to be, because we had a motorcycle gang, you and I, Jay, it's called the Hairy Scroats. Yes. I don't know if that's transferable here or if we've got to go with another name.

14:09Keyzie:I'd prefer not to. Well, you've had your scrotes lasered, so it doesn't apply anymore. So you've got marbled scrote. Why don't we name it something that's not to do with testicles? Oh. Have you ever thought about that? No. Well, everything doesn't have to be named after genitals, does it?

14:25Jase:And then, of course, we need our tough guy nicknames as well. I've got one that's come through here, 3483, which is 10-speed moggy. Old 10-speed moggy. Mogey. So that's got a real ring to it. I like that. But then Jase has already got a nickname which is Two Stroke Hoyt, but that makes people think that he's riding a dirt bike. No, but really it's that he doesn't wipe his bum properly. Yeah, exactly. We need that to be very clear. Maybe you could be Two Spoke Hoyt-y. Yeah, I like it.

14:55Keyzie:Also we could get some sort of big show, you know, bicycle gang insignia. Oh, nice. You know what I mean? Like a little patch. But the patches are illegal now. You can't have patches. Oh, right.

15:06Jase:Even for a bicycle gang, come on. They can take it off us over our dead bodies, Keezy. Yeah, hell yeah. That's what we'll tell them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Pedal to the metal, we'll say. Oh, that's good. Pedaling, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And what's our motto, like our motto going to be, you know? A little catchphrase.

15:26Jase:There's so many good ones, isn't there? Yeah, yeah. Something about tyres. Oh, my wife, what about that? Speaking of your wife, mate, I meant to ask this. Is she concerned? About me now living a life of crime on my healing 10 speed.

15:40Keyzie:Well, more your age and you're on a bicycle.

15:45Jase:She wants me to wear a helmet. Yeah, 100 % I agree. Yeah, I know. I agree as well. But how do you get a helmet? There's no helmet that doesn't make you look real cool. So how cool do I want to look, I guess? That's the question. Yes.

15:59Keyzie:God, there's so many questions. I didn't realise there was so much admin in terms of forming a bicycle gang. 100 % there is. And the other thing too is we've got to figure out where all the other bicycle gang territories are. Yes. So we can get our patch. Yes. And then that's sort of our neck of the woods. Do you like popping wheelies, Keezy? Me? Yeah. Mate, hell yeah. I love popping wheelies. This is going to be sick. It's going to be sick, Jase. Hey, Soundgarden. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

16:34Keyzie:Beautiful queen there on the Radio Hauraki. Big show this Tuesday evening. The time is 4.53. Let's talk TV. What's on the telly with Mike Minogue.

16:49Keyzie:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

16:52Jase:Yes. I'm halfway through it, fellas, but I'm watching a documentary called Nature Boy. Nature Boy. Ric Flair. Ric Flair, baby. It's an ESPN 30 for 30, those great documentaries, but this one's an hour and a half long. It's not 30 minutes. Yeah, roughly halfway through it, it's about, he is one of the great wrestlers, sort of came into his own in the 80s and was just sort of a weapon all the way through. He projected a lifestyle of, you know, being super rich and flashy and wearing these really fancy sort of cloaks and flying in planes and driving in limousines and having heaps of hot chicks. And he was gorgeous as well.

17:33He was gorgeous, exactly.

17:34Jase:He's this great-looking guy, and everybody wants to be him and blah, blah, blah. Well, he was married with a kid at the time, but he felt like he should live the lifestyle. So that's what he did, and he had zero regrets. Really great stuff watching somebody who's just got no moral compass whatsoever. and managed to get to the top, and was hugely famous even though he wasn't in the WWF. The WWF, now the WWE, back in the day was like more of a family-focused get-the-kids sort of thing, whereas Ric Flair was over in NWO or something. No Way Out. Yeah, something else. It was WCW maybe to start with, and that was more at just men, just loser men that wanted to see fighting of a certain type.

18:18Jase:It's a very, very good documentary. It's on, I'm pretty sure, Disney. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Just another way of life. He is an out there character. Very entertaining. How many buzzies out of five? So far I'm going four buzzies. Wow. Yeah, really good. What's it called? Nature Boy. Nature Boy, okay. You're not going to watch it. Why not? So this came up yesterday. Why don't you watch the Ben Stokes documentary Mike recommended four and a half years ago? Why don't you? Excuse me, Kesey.

18:46Keyzie:I have watched it. Have you actually? Yes. Really? Yes. How many episodes was it? I can't remember. It's just the one thing. So you haven't watched it? I've watched it, man. All right. And boy, oh boy, I'm glad you recommended it to me. Do you know he was born in New Zealand? Yes, I did. Christchurch. Unbelievable. I finished off watching The Beast in Me. Oh, yes. Pretty good. It holds up. Good ending. Well, you know, a predictable ending, I guess you would say.

19:24Jase:I've got a real three-buzzy vibe out of this.

19:27Keyzie:And there's some very good writing in it. And yes, at times it's predictable, and those sort of thriller-type things can get very predictable. But Claire Danes, who I'm still on the fence about a little bit as an actor.

19:42Jase:I am.

19:43Keyzie:Always have been. Sometimes she's a bit over the top. But anyway, I'll stick with my initial prognosis of 3.2 buzies. Out of five? Yes. Where'd you watch that? Netflix. Right, okay. I watched an episode last night, TVNZ+. We were sort of rummaging around trying to find something to watch. Do you want to watch Educators? Oh, not really. Not in the mood for it. Do you want to watch the British sitcom we've been watching, Here We Go? Not in the mood for that either. We ended up just watching Love It or List It on TVNZ. we got halfway through the episode where they sort of, they told you about the house and whether they should keep it and do it up or list it and sell.

20:24They took us to another house. Then I looked over and my wife was like really tired. And so I was like, oh, that'll probably do for tonight, eh? I was like, yeah. So we went to bed. Did you tuck her in?

20:34Keyzie:Did you put her into bed and tuck her in? Yeah, Keezy, did you put her into bed? Get a little face cloth and wash her face before she nodded off there? Are you making out that my wife is a child? Well, I know just that she was very sleepy and that you... I'm envisaging that you lifted her off the couch and she just nestled into your buzies and then you took her to bed and put her in bed and put the duvet on and stuff and... No, I didn't because it's really hard to get her up onto the top bunk, which is where she sleeps. And I'm on the bottom bunk. Hey, now listen. I give it three buzies out of five, by the way.

21:11What, putting her to bed or the show? No, not putting my wife to bed. Love it all listed, man.

21:16Keyzie:Plenty coming up after 5 o 'clock, including some absolutely outrageous comments from The Breakfast Show. Oh, yeah, that's bullshit, by the way. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki. Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're surviving your Tuesday afternoon. You are, in fact, at this stage listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburg Gear. Craveworthy street food freshly made with Reburg Gear.

21:56Is that all good with you guys? Play it again please, Kesey. Really? Oh my god, it's so long.

22:09Jase:Seems like David Hasselhoff. Remember that video of him and his daughter recorded him when he had too much to drink responsibly and he was eating a burger. In the hotel room. Yeah, it reminds me of that. Steam David Hasselhoff. Actually, it might be. It could be. I mean, I don't know where Pugs gets the audio of these real people from.

22:28Keyzie:Yes, because they're actual Vox Pops, aren't they? They're actual real people. The Pops of Vox. Yeah. Or Voice. Yeah, they 100 % are. By the way, if you just joined us, Mogi's got a new bicycle.

22:40Jase:Yes, I do. Head to the Hauraki Big Show's Instagram page if you want to have a look at it. It's a sweet new 10 speed. When I say new, I mean it's 40 years old. But we're thinking of starting a bicycle gang. Jase doesn't have a bicycle yet, needs ideas for what kind of bicycle he should get. Also a name for the gang. We've had plenty of great suggestions coming through on 3483. Keep them coming. Get yourself in the draw for a$50 re-burger voucher. Yeah, beautiful, mate.

23:01Keyzie:In the meantime, here's Arctic Monkeys. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki. Incubus there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is 13 minutes past 5 o 'clock. Fellas, we have teamed up with the great New Zealanders at Movember to support Movember, and we're going to do it by firing up the old Hauraki Swingers Club, which is our basically golf group. Fraternity. Fraternity. We are looking for two listeners to come and join Team Big Show to play with Jason and I going up against Jeremy Wells and Mania Stewart on Team Brekkie.

23:40They are looking for two punters as well. If you're keen to enter, head to hodaki.co.nz and tell us which team you'd like to be on, Team Brekkie or Team Big Show.

23:48Keyzie:Yeah, just on that front, Kesey, I believe the breakfast show this morning, Mogi, was talking a bit of smack about that.

23:55Jase:I heard that, man. It was shocking. Really? Absolutely shocking. I've got pokes to pull the audio because I was fuming. It is in support of men's mental health, but what we're going to do to the Big Show's mental health will set them back. We'll set men's mental health on the whole back 100 years. Has anyone signed up to be in their team yet? No, but... I'd love to know the amount of entries that are wanting to be in our team and then the amount of entries who want to be on the Big Show's team. I'd be fascinated to know. I'd be interested to know that as well. If people are actually signing up to go to the Big Show, because there's got to be some consequences of who loses.

24:30Yeah, there has to be. I think the... the, oh, jeez, should we put the show on the line again? Let's do that, yes. Our listeners won't be happy with us. Let's do that. Wait, let's, I reckon let's put it to the big show next week. Yeah, okay. Because, yeah, they're going to have a fit if they, they'll probably rig their bloody entries if they. They're drawing the draw. Yeah, they're drawing the draw.

24:56Keyzie:Then why are they drawing that? This is ridiculous. I tell you what, fellas. Oh, Manias talks a big game, doesn't he? And he's the most shocking golfer of all of us.

25:07Jase:Well, that's the thing, fellas. Of course, it'll be interesting to see what happens this time around because you're going to have another couple of players with you. Last time, I think, you made the mistake when earlier this year it was Big Show versus Breakfast. The two of you played against Jerry and Mania. And my feeling was that you should have added your total scores together on each team, and then you would know who the real winner was. but instead it was some other thing, Ambrose. And I think the two of you, you know, I think Mania is worse than Jerry is good, if you know what I mean. So I think the two of you will sit around about the same score, give or take.

25:42Jase:Jerry will have a good score, but Mania will have a shocking score. Yeah, but he'll cheat though. You've got to remember that. He'll absolutely cheat. So that's the part you've got to keep an eye on. But I was thinking though, because Ambrose is where we, let's say it's me and you again, Jase, which it will be, you take the best shots, right? Yes. And so when I can drive the ball straight, we take that shot, and that's really good. And then, Jase, you're great with your irons. Your putting's a bit iffy, but my chipping's iffy. But wasn't this what it was last time when you guys got hammered? No, we didn't get hammered.

26:10Well, I let it down. We got beaten by quite a lot. But I feel like I can, you know.

26:16Keyzie:But here's the interesting thing. They threw the gauntlet down and said, I'd be very interested in the numbers of people that want to play with the big show. And I believe we have the numbers, fellas. We do have the numbers. and the official split is 70 % of entries wanted to be on Team Big Show. Oh, yeah. And at the beginning of the competition, it was 90%. Right.

26:35Jase:So I guess shove that up your breakfast. Yeah, well, I don't know. That's good. Maybe it is, you know, you've got a whole bunch of golfers out there that really want to help the Big Show stick it to breakfast, and that can only be a good thing. But I guess my question is how are the winners chosen here? Because if we're allowed to have any kind of say in it or breakfast is allowed to have any kind of say in it, there's always going to be room for argument. Yeah. And you want it to be an undeniable, if this is what's going to happen and we're putting the show on the line again, I've got to make sure this is square.

27:05I don't know if I want to put us doing the breakfast show or vice versa if we lose or win. You know what I say to that, fellas?

27:12Jase:What? Bring it. I say bring it on as well. But I don't need to add the scores together. But just you guys and leave the other fellas out of it. Well, we're going to have to figure it out. But if you're keen to join us, enter now at hauraki.co.nz. Tell us which team you'd like to be a part of. This is happening at Windross Farm Golf Course in South Auckland. Beautiful. In the meantime, here's Guns. Gunroses. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

27:41Keyzie:Billy Idol there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time, 27 minutes past five o 'clock. Hey, Jase. Yes, Keezy. What's an atmospheric river? That's a good question, man. It's just I've been reading a lot about it in the news. Apparently there's an atmospheric river coming and it's going to make everything hot. And moist? And moist. It's a really good question, Kesey. I've been thinking about it a great deal, to be honest with you. Really? About the atmospheric river? Yes. Like, how much have you been thinking about it? Quite a lot, man. I've been tapping away on my little Olivetti.

28:26Keyzie:That's a typewriter, by the way. An atmospheric river, Keezy, is a long, narrow and concentrated corridor of moving air, which is in the atmosphere that transports huge amounts of water vapour, thus sheer moistness, from tropical or subtropical regions to higher latitudes. Wow, how do you know all that? It was something I was interested in as a kid. These, people often refer to them as like rivers in the sky. Do they? Yes. Huh. And they're a crucial part of the Earth's water cycle. You can also be associated with extreme weather events. Waleses.

29:19Jase:And it's something you've been interested in since you were a kid. That's good, man. Since I was knee high to a...

29:28Keyzie:What is it? Grasshopper. Grasshopper, yes. Whatever you say, I'm going to say so recently then.

29:36Jase:Right, because of course the saying atmosphere, River, it only came about in 1998. Yes.

29:43Keyzie:Funnily enough, 1994 I wrote a poem called Atmospheric River. Oh, have you got it there? Not on me. Right. So did you coin the phrase? I think I might have, yes. Did you coin it? I coined it. But my atmospheric river was different from your literal atmospheric river. Oh, right. Was yours like? It was more to do with, yeah. You know what I'm saying? Oh, yeah. My atmospheric river.

30:20Sweet. Well, thanks for clearing it up, man. I just knew, because I'm reading so much about it, and I knew so many New Zealanders would be wondering the same thing, like what is an atmospheric river? Yeah, yeah. And I knew that I could ask old Hoidi J, and you'd explain it and also claim its invention as well. Yeah, Hoidi J. Yeah. Best in the world.

30:39Jase:Best in the world, number one.

30:41Keyzie:That's right, fellas.

30:46If you want, I can bring in that poem tomorrow.

30:50Keyzie:Oh, yes, please. Okay, I'll set a reminder. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Smashing pumpkins there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday evening. The time is 5.39. Fellas, today I had an experience that I haven't had since I was a kid and it sent me right back there, you know? Yeah, nice. I was in town having lunch. Oh. Had a lot to, before I got, this morning I woke up, I was like, you know what I need to be better at? Hydrating in the morning. Sure. So I drank probably five glasses of water. Yeah, you guys have a drink. Yeah. Yes.

31:28Jeez, Jase, you sound like you could use one. I had about five glasses of water over about an hour. I had a cup of coffee. Yeah, I did wheeze or whatever. Cool, man. And then we went out to a cafe, had lunch. Very nice. Had another drink. Had a smoothie. Oh, yeah, nice. I had a smoothie today too. It was like a berry sort of banana with a bit of coconut and honey. It was very, very nice. But then I realized I needed to do wheeze. Again. Like really bad wheeze. I was like, fuck, I'm busting here. I went to go use the toilet and there was someone in there. And I waited for a bit and it was taking way too long.

31:59And I was like, I'm just going to drive home because I was going home anyway. I went to drive home, heaps of traffic, heaps of red lights. I was, yeah, I was contemplating pulling over. However, I was like, no, I can do this. I'm a grown man. I can get home and I can wait until I'm, you know. It took freaking every red light, every red light, every car I got behind was going 20 kilometers under the speed limit. It was infuriating. I had road rage. Finally got home. I was like, I could just go in the garden. And I was like, no, you made it this far. Let's go. Let's go seal the deal at the old Wiz Palace inside there.

32:35So finally I locked the door. But by this stage, it was so bad. I was hunched over. Were you seeping? I wasn't seeping. Were you weeping? I did. No, I wasn't crying. But I had to do something I haven't done since I was a kid. Do you remember what you did when you were a kid and you were really busting to go wheeze? You hold you downstairs. You hold you downstairs.

32:54Keyzie:Yeah, squeeze your massive helmet.

32:59Yeah, because when I was a kid, I had a massive helmet. But it's literally, and for females, they might not know this, but it was something just instinctively I did and haven't done since I was like nine or something. Squeeze it. and you squeeze it like the hose, the garden hose. Yes. If I could put a kink in it, I would. You fold it. You do. In half, yeah. That's what I do. Yeah. Yeah, right. See, I just sort of grabbed it and squeezed it. Right. Ran to the toilet, and it was amazing relief. But I was just like, I have never been that busting for a wee since I was like nine, and I don't want to experience it again.

33:32Keyzie:Did you have the scenario when you've been hanging on like that by the skin of your teeth? I wasn't holding on by my teeth. that when you finally get to the point of urinating, there's a big pause, you know, because you've been holding on for so long and then there's this weird sort of 20-second gap of nothing because maybe mentally your brain's gone, no, I can't yet, I can't yet, and it takes a while to unlock. Yeah, right. And before it goes, oh! Can I just...

34:06Jase:Let me just say no. Yeah, can I just say, any men out there, make sure you get your prostate checked regularly. Yeah. I'd just like to take this moment to say, go and get that checked regularly. Yeah. No, that didn't happen to me, Jason. She was all out. And it was intense pressure.

34:18Keyzie:Well, hang on. I want to put this out here again. If there's any other men that, this has happened to me when I was like a young fella, and you've been holding on for so long, and when you finally go to go, it takes a while to happen.

34:33Jase:Surely other men have experienced that. Sounds like it's you on your own again already, Jason. I did pick up on one thing there, Keezy. You said you rushed into the toilet and you locked the door. Did I? Yeah. Did I say I locked the door? You locked the door. That was kind of weird. Yeah, why did you lock the door? I don't know. I just didn't want people to come in while I was volneys. And also I didn't know how long I was going to be in there. Are you suggesting that? No, I don't even remember saying I locked the door. Are you sure I said that? So you grabbed your massive helmet, ran into the bathroom and locked the door.

35:06Keyzie:And it was a massive relief. And there was a big... You were so relaxed afterwards. Is that what you're saying, Keezy?

35:15Jase:Dude, shit. Is this David Dobbin? God, I love this song. This reminds me of being a kid, man. I used to love this stuff. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Thank you.

35:32Keyzie:Thank you very much. Good night. Nirvana there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this Tuesday evening. The time is 5.57. After 6 o 'clock, I had to parallel park in front of about 30 fellas today, boys, and I'll tell you what that was like for old Hoity J. Also, what's on the dinner with me? Easy. That's right, Jase. Don't start that again. Oh, God, that's right. If you want a$50 Reburger voucher, text through what you are having for dinner on 3483, along with your name as well, and we will read those out after Cirque's and hopefully dish out some vouchers.

36:09Jase:Beautiful.

36:13The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

36:19Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. You are listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburger. Craveworthy street food, freshly made with Reburg, yeah? Yum.

36:30Jase:Plain and simple. Yeah, I guess so. Effective. Yeah, yeah. So I'll play it again, eh? Ready? Three, two, one. Yeah. Sorry. I was a different one. Oh, what? I'm confused. Yeah. I'm so confused.

36:43Keyzie:I had a very random meal last night. You were saying it was a shocking bus. What did you eat, man?

36:49Jase:Because you were saying who was cooking it?

36:51Keyzie:My wife. Yeah.

36:53Jase:And I always know because... But you were saying it was pretty good for her, though. But terrible in general. Inedible, but for her. And I was like, wow, that's offensive. That's shocking. Mogi was in tears.

37:10Keyzie:Anyway, so I walked in and I said, What's this crap? Hello, darling. How was your day? Good. Catronizing, Jesus. And then she said, I don't know what I was thinking for dinner. It's very random. And what exactly was it?

37:31Jase:How can it be random?

37:32Keyzie:Well, it was a stuffed potato.

37:34Jase:Just one. Well, one each. Oh, one each. How good. One each. Where was it stuffed? In the potato. No, like, was it one of those ones that they cut open the top and then stuff it in there? Yes. Or is it one of those ones that they've sort of almost turned inside out?

37:47Keyzie:Well, she baked it and then scooped it out and then added a bit of cheese and onion. It's a baked potato.

37:52Jase:Is it a jacket potato? It's just a baked potato.

37:54Keyzie:It's just a baked potato. Yeah. Jacket?

37:56Jase:It wears a jacket, yeah.

37:57Keyzie:And she'd bought this pork belly, but not like a slab of pork belly, just like this weird pork belly in a weird sauce. Pork mints. It wasn't pork mints, but it almost. That's a shame. And it just was bubbling away in the oven there. That's weird, because I always buy my pork belly in a slab. Well, you do generally, you know what I mean? There's a bit of a, yeah. Then you slice it up.

38:22Jase:The stomach of a pig.

38:24Keyzie:And a sort of salad. And it was just a stuffed potato with this random pork belly and a strange sauce and a salad. Was it good, though? I loved it. Hey, 3483 New Zealand, what are you having for dinner tonight? Give us a text, and you could win a$50 Reeburger voucher. Here's Def Leppard. Love this one, man. Let's go. Woo! The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki. The Clash there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday evening. but right now it's time for... Oh yeah, hey guys, text here from Steve. What's on the dinner? With me, Casey. It's right, the segment where you text in what you're having for dinner and why I read it out and then Jason and Mike sort of discuss it.

39:13Yeah. It's great, and if you text 313483, you go on the draw for a$50 Reburger voucher. Heaps of texts here, fellas. G'day guys, Morty here. Oh, wow. Morty.

39:23Jase:Yeah, from that show. Rick and Morty. Yeah. Have you heard of that show, Jase? I have. Ah. Having lamb wraps with some cheese stuffed mushrooms.

39:35Keyzie:Oh, yeah, I like a cheese stuffed mushroom. Just on that, by the way, my wife makes a very good cheese stuffed mushroom. It's got a bit of sour cream in there, too. There's a real concoction and some panko breadcrumbs. It's bloody beautiful, I've got to say. Now we're talking. You know, your big field mushroom. You need a big mushroom. Yeah, you need a big field mushroom. Not a little button mushroom. No. You need a... You don't need a button mushroom. You need a big flappy field mushroom. What about a shiitake? No.

40:06Jase:You talk me into it, man. I'd be keen, man.

40:09Keyzie:Delicious. That us? Bit of cracked pepper, bit of lemon zest.

40:13Jase:G'day, guys. Charlie here. Charlie Chaplin. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Jase? Charlie... Brown. Jase. Charlie. Sheen. Sheen? Ah, no, it was Charlie Brown. G'day, guys. Charlie Brown here. For dinner, I'm having beef burritos with rice, cheese, and sour cream. Cheers to the miso for whipping it up. It's a classic. It's a classic, the burrito with the rice. I don't understand the rice. Yes. I don't. When you get a burrito and it's got rice in it, I am against that, man. A hundred percent. That's a no from me. That sounds right up your alley, Keezy.

40:50Keyzie:What, a burrito? Yes.

40:52Jase:Burrito to douche. Right up Keezy's alley.

40:54Keyzie:That sounds like something that you would be hoeing into and have for dinner the next night as well. 100%. Well, I don't know whether Kesey has it two dinners in a row. Because you always have leftovers and you eat it the next night. That is a terrible rumour. G'day, guys. Adolf here. Hitler?

41:13Smith. Smith, okay. Yeah, according to the text. Schnitzel and cabbage for dinner tonight. Cheers.

41:20Jase:Oh, really? A bit of German cabbage there. Can I reintroduce? German schnitzel. Can I reintroduce the mushroom here? Allow me to reintroduce myself.

41:30Keyzie:I'm not... Is this like pillow talk? I'm quite fond of a thinly cut schnitzel that's heavily crumbed with a really nice mushroom sauce.

41:37Jase:Oh, really? Yes.

41:38Keyzie:Very, very partial.

41:40Jase:I have a habit to go with a lemon on a schnitz. Okay. But I also have a habit of not having a schnitz because I don't like them. My wife loves a schnitz with lemon juice on it. I like my mum. You like your what? Mum? My mum. I love my mum. Oh, breaking news. Oh, Keezy City likes his mum. Oh, my God. Keezy, how do you like your snits?

42:04Keyzie:Well, I'm not going to say it. Mookie's going to make fun of me for liking my mum. I'll tell you what's really nice with a snits. Yes, please. White bread, butter, a bit of hot mustard, a bit of aioli. Chuck your snits in there and chew away. Make a sandwich. Make a sandwich. A snitty shammy. Snitty sandwich. Yeah. But just quickly on my mum and her schnitzel. Yes. She stuffs it with cheese and ham. Yes, yes. And then crumbs it and then makes mushroom sauce and it is amazing. Yeah. No, that's right up my alley actually. What, my mum's schnitzel? Yes. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

42:50Keyzie:Yes, indeed. Good shoot there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show. this wet and moist Tuesday evening. Hey, speaking of wet and moist, have you fellas heard of Kiwi Pong? Of course we've heard of Kiwi Pong, Jase. We've been involved with the World Series of Kiwi Pong for six years now. Yes. So it'd be weird if we hadn't heard of it, you know?

43:10Jase:Yeah, yeah, no, that's fair point, Keezy. Did it take a break last year, Keezy Man? I can't remember. I think it did. Did it? Yeah, I think it did. It had a little bit of a break, which is a bloody disappointment. It was a shame not to have it on the sporting calendar. It's right up there as far as I'm concerned with the T20 World Cup. Yes. If you are interested, Kiwi Pong, Beer Pong, whatever you want to call it, we are having a World Series thanks to SoBear. They've put up a grand prize of over$10 ,000. This year it's$10 ,006. How good. So that is climbing.

43:40Keyzie:Is that going to be in cash again like they did the other times? I hope so. Yes. There's something about it turned me on, I'll be honest, when the fellas won it the last time and they literally had a suitcase of cash. Really? You got horny from that? I got horny. I went home and I was going to make love, but my wife wasn't there. So? I did what I needed to do. Hey, big shout out to Sobeer. He'll be stoked they've come on board with us here. They are special gummies you take after a night out. You'll wake up fresh the next day. It's happening Saturday, November 29th, so not too far off, less than two weeks away, Sweatshop Brew Kitchen in Auckland.

44:17All the team slots are officially booked out. The last two slots are only available to be won at hodaki.co.nz. So grab a teammate, think of a name, and head to our website. I'm wondering, sorry, Jase. No, please.

44:27Jase:Hey. Please. I'm wondering, you know, I haven't got a team spot, Kesey. I know you have. And the last two team spots are available there on hodaki.co.nz, as you say. Am I allowed to go down and watch? Because me and Jase love watching the beer pong. So are we allowed to go down there as spectators? I mean, sure. And your support crew? Yeah, I mean, sure you can. We'll chat. Keezy. Keezy. Keezy. To be fair, I am also, along with Mania, I think we're emceeing the event and playing. Wow. So if you guys were down there, you could do the emceeing instead and then I could just focus on. What day was that?

45:01Saturday the 29th of November.

45:04Keyzie:I'm just looking at the calendar there. Hey, Keezy. What? As you mentioned, you and Mania are a team. Have you been practising? No. I mean, if we were really keen to win this thing, maybe. But if I was to say to Minaya, hey, man, do you want to practice for the Kiwi Pong tournament? He'd probably call me a wanker.

45:24Jase:Well, wouldn't he say yes, and then you'd arrange a date to go there, and then on the morning that you were going to go and practice, he'd call you up and say, oh, actually, no, I can't make it? He'd probably say, oh, I'm busy. Sorry, man, I'm out. Yeah. And I'd be like, sweet as, I'm just standing here with my Kiwi Pong balls in my hand there, ready to go. But, hey, make sure you do head to horaki.co.nz, So grab a partner, think of a team name, dress up, and I'll see you down at Sweatshop for the World Series of Kiwi Pong. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

46:03Keyzie:There you go, you mad bastards. That's the big show done and dusted this Tuesday evening. In the podcast outro today, what did we chat about? I can't remember. Well, what's the clip there, Keezy? I believe, Jase, you chatted about breaking the law, but then you assured us that it was just a hypothetical question. Oh, that's right. Oh, yeah, okay. Here's a clip of the podcast. Comes out at 7.30 tonight. Can I ask you a question on that front? Is it okay? Oh, God. No, it's not, and you know it's not. But carry on. Like if your family gets a prescription for something?

46:35Jase:Yeah. Look, there's nothing I'll be talking about on air, Jase, or on podcasts. Right, I certainly wouldn't condemn that.

46:41Keyzie:I mean, I wouldn't condone it. I was just trying to get your guys' views on it. Pretty sure it's illegal. Yeah, I would imagine. Why are you winking at us? I was trying to get your guys' view on it. Why are you holding up a packet of... Get him, get him, get him, get him, get him. Hey. Hey. Mogi, I'm a little bit concerned. It's pissing down outside.

47:00Jase:This is the thing about, you know, having a healing 10-speed. You just go in between the raindrops.

47:05Keyzie:Oh, well, it is.

47:06Jase:It's a very agile ride. It's a very slim bastard, isn't it? It's sleek. so what I do is I get down on those lower handlebars. Rain can't catch me, man. By the way, we're chatting about Mogi's new bicycle. If you want to see a photo of it, check out the Haraki Big Show Instagram account. I've got to start practising my wheelies as well, popping some wheelies. Do you call them wheelies or wheel stands when you grew up? A wheelie when I grew up was a burnout on a motorbike or a car. But if you're on a bicycle, that was a wheel stand as well. I think it's regional because when I grew up on a bicycle, it was a wheelie, but then I'd find later in life people were like, But no, that's a wheel stand, so it might be where you come from.

47:41Jase:We might be able to spend eight breaks on that tomorrow.

47:44Keyzie:Where I came from, it was called a stiffy. What was? The old...

47:49Jase:When you pop it up. Yeah, you pop it up. Yeah, but this is what we're talking about with a bike. Yeah, bicycle. Oh, you call that a stiffy. Yeah, you pull a stiffy. Right, no, I didn't... Really? So you'd be going past everybody, oh, look at Hoody J's. That's an awesome stiffy. Yeah, yeah, totally. Oh, wow, I did a good stiffy.

48:08Keyzie:There's a long stiffy. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Hey, Keezy. What? What?

48:15Jase:What are you having for dinner tonight, man? He hurt himself trying to pull a stiffy. Oh, good question. What is for dinner tonight? Oh, beef stir-fry. I'm sorry. That's no good. Okay, I'll let my wife know. Please do. Okay. Is the beef cut really thin? No. Doosh, doosh, doosh, doosh, doosh. Good night.
