In short

The Hodaki Big Show plans a “housewarming” party for Pugsana after he moved into a small one-bedroom apartment, while also covering listener competitions, Fiji trip promotion, music talk, and a school-holiday parenting segment.

Guests

No named external guests appear; the episode is hosted by Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue, and Keezie (plus “Pugsana” and “Horty J” are regular show members). Listener callers participate briefly (e.g., Bob, Carmen, Tainui, Gary, Luke), but they aren’t guests in the studio.

Key claims

Pugsana’s apartment is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom (no separate toilet), ~70–90 square metres, accessed by ~21 stairs. The party will be massive despite limited space, with Shapeys (DJ set), a pig on a spit, a donkey on the balcony (with earmuffs/blindfold), fireworks on the balcony, foam party, and jelly/wrestling ideas. Illegal drugs won’t be involved—only “a couple of beers.”

Notable examples

“PugSons Filther Mania”/“PugFest” naming jokes; Fiji Airways/InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa trip; Friday Throbber songs (Queens of the Stone Age “Feel Good Hit of the Summer,” Willie Nelson “On the Road Again,” Turnstile “Holiday,” Nirvana “Smells Like Teen Spirit” mentioned).

0:00Mike Minogue:The Hodaki Big Show. Thanks to Craveworthy Street Food. Freshly made with Reeburger. Don't fight it. It's time to go up a size. This is the biggest, biggest, biggest, biggest, biggest show. The Hodaki Big Show. With Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezie. Oh, g'day you massive backbones. It is Friday, September 19th, 2025 and you, as always, listening to The Hodaki Big Show brought to you by Reeburger. Graveworthy street food, freshly made with Ree Burger. Yum. Bloody ripper stuff there, pugs. Of course, this is Hoody J's second day of holiday, which means he is back on board come Monday. He's already like halfway through his holiday, Mogey.

0:42Mike Minogue:It's flying by. I hope he's having a good time. You know he won't be, man. He'll be effing and jeffing and sighing his way around a golf course. He'll be fishing. He'll cast out there, bring the line back in, nothing on it. Why do I bother, man? Yeah. Suck on the vape, man. Yeah. I miss the fellas. Yeah. Speaking of the fellas, Mogey, how are you this wonderful Friday afternoon? Going pretty grousey, you mad dog, you sick son of a bee. I'm excited about cracking into the weekend. I've got a huge weekend planned. I'm off to Hamilton. Oh, sick. So good, man. Man, I tell you what, you and Jase, you know how to holiday.

1:21We know how to live, man. Well, we've got the holidays coming up. The school holidays are coming up. So you've got to occupy the child, man. so I've decided to take them to, you know, just... Hamilton is the city of events. You know, they've got the gardens there. They're great. They are great. Yeah, they are. They're amazing. And, like, six-year-olds, they love gardens. You can't get those up here. You just can't. And then the other thing they've got is a river. Good river, though. Big one.

1:46Mike Minogue:Oh, it's big. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's big. So it's an exciting weekend ahead for me. Pugsan, you rogue stallion. Oh, hey. How are you this afternoon? No, that's him. You've got a woolly vest on, man. Yeah, you've got a vest on, man. Thanks, fellas. Well, you didn't say anything nice about it, but you noticed I'm wearing it. This is what Jase does. What's that? He just says, oh, you've got your little woolly vest on. Got your little woolly vest on there, Casey. Yeah, no, I'm well, thanks, fellas. Grateful to be here with you folks. Yeah. It's Friday, so that's a good buzz as well. It absolutely is.

2:12Mike Minogue:Don't forget, it's Fright Out Shiday, a.k.a. Shout Out Friday. If there's anyone you would like to shout out to, give us a text on 3483. Get yourself in the draw for a$50 re-burger voucher. What's coming up on the show today, Mogus? Wait for it.

2:27What's happening on the big show with old Mogi? Well, more bloody exciting stuff. There will be opportunities to join us on our swingers club. We are off to Fiji and you'll be able to give us a call on 0800-HORAKI to get yourselves in the draw for that. We've also got the throbber, of course. No Jase today, so an opportunity for one of us to get another win on the board. And, of course, up next, Pugson. Hello. He's moved in with his missus. Yeah. And Keezy and myself, we're going to take this opportunity to plan your flat warming, man. I tell you what, I hope you'll have some cleaners. It's a pretty small joint.

2:59I don't know if we'll do. It's going to be massive. That place is going to be an absolute pigsty by the time we're done with it, man.

3:04Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. She-Hard on the Hauraki Big Show. 12 minutes past 4 o 'clock, you've got Keezy Mogey and Pug-san. Horty J's back on deck Monday. Pugs, very exciting times for you. Over the weekend, you moved in with your lovely partner, didn't you? I did, I did. It was a bit of a slog, but we wanted to do it in a way that we didn't have to do anything else. We just got it all unpacked, smashed it out, and we were living there, and I'm loving it. Yeah, man. So talk us through the actual place you're living. So it's an apartment? Yeah, yeah. So it's at the top floor of about three levels there.

3:39Top floor, yeah. No, no. Penthouse, nice. It's just like a standy.

3:44Mike Minogue:There'll be plenty of penthouses up there as well under his mattress, you know. So it's just like a sort of standy size apartment. You kind of walk in there. How many bedrooms? It's just on top of everyone else, though, eh? One bed. One bed, yeah. One bed, yeah. One bathroom? One bedroom, yeah. Does the bathroom have a separate toilet? No. So it's all combined? It's all in the one? It's combined, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, just writing this down. And then you walk in there. There's a lounge, obviously. Yeah, how big? What's the square metre edge of the site? I have no idea. The venue, yeah. I don't know how to measure that.

4:18Mike Minogue:Right, okay. What would the size of a regular apartment be, Mo? Like a one-beddy? Like, you made 30? It's not back. No, it'd be bigger than that. 40? No, I reckon you should be. Probably for someone like Pugsun, the kind of money he's on, his missus as well, you're probably looking at 70 to 90 squares. Wow. Yeah. Well done, man. So 70. So that's the size. That'll include the bed and the bathroom as well, you know. I have no frame of reference for how correct that is. Is there a lift going up to the top? Yeah? No. No, it's stairs. Stairs? Yeah. Okay, so that's going to be an issue. About 21 stairs.

4:48Mike Minogue:It's going to be an issue. 21, that's not many. No, if any. So, right, it's seven stairs per floor, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's kind of hard to believe. All right, so the venue is sort of 70 slash 80 metres squared. It's just, I mean, yeah, you guys could come around. We could have like a little dinner or something, like a little potluck. We were talking about doing a potluck there. Dinner's for losers, pugs. Dinner's for absolute chumps, pugs. Oh. What we're going to organise is an official housewarming, like a real good, because you have looked after us here on The Big Show, right? I don't know.

5:16Mike Minogue:You've looked after us. Yeah, well, that's very kind. You've looked after us and now it's time for us to look after you Moggy A good housewarming What does a good housewarming need to have? Backbones We'll start with backbones Obviously there's going to be great music So straight off the bat Pug Zone, you've got a DJ duo Yourself and Dilly, the Yummy Boys Their band We'll take care of the music Actually put all your vinyl away as well Because we're not going to need any of that ulti stuff Great music, heaps of booze So we'll get a booze sponsor on board What about a band, like a live band? A live band I'm pretty new to the neighbourhood I don't want to disrupt Pugs They're pretty close quarters Because it's small, you know A good band We go around and we invite all the neighbours Yeah, yeah, yeah Because you're going to be living there for Well, we don't know how long But you want to be inviting everyone Making yourself part of the community And an integral part of the community They need to know that when it comes to Friday or Saturday night, we can just drop around to Pugs' house and get on it.

6:22I don't think there's many young people. I think it's mostly older folks.

6:24Mike Minogue:We don't want to be ageist. Okay, so a band. Because we're here at Radio Hodaki, I reckon we could convince a good band to maybe not She Hard reuniting. No. But we could, you know, split ends are getting back together. Hang on, not Rocky enough. I sort of feel like Blind Spot. I don't know if that's really the vibe. Concord Dawn. Concord Dawn. Shady. I do like them, but there's no way they'd come to my house. How many people are in Shapeys? It's quite a lot, right? Yeah, half a dozen. Maybe just a DJ set. From Shapeys. Yeah, and then we could get a little bit of Rammstein in there as well. Oh, my God.

7:00How do you feel about illegal drugs, Pugs, just as a hypothetical? Huh? Hypothetically, how do you feel about it? Hypothetically, how do I feel about it? Yeah. You're asking me now? Is this hypothetical? It's hypothetical. Perfectly hypothetical. Yeah. I mean, like, if people are responsible and safe, then they are free to do what they're doing. That's illegal, mate. So we're not having that. You can have a couple of beers and that's it, responsibly. So you walk through the door.

7:27Mike Minogue:So I don't want anything to do with that. You picture this. You walk through, there's booze there, bowls of Connie's, and it's just you go hell for leather, and there's just cameras set up in every single corner of every single room. We're live streaming it to the world. All the two of the rooms. I've got the name for it. What? PugSons Filther Mania. I was going to say PugFest. 3483, do you want to come to Pugs' housewarming? You get a plus three, so you want groups coming. Hang on. That way you've got people to chat to. Every text in the drawer for a$50 re-burger voucher. How do you feel about a pig on a spit?

8:01Mike Minogue:Filtherama, that's it. Look, I mean, I'm a bit worried that we're getting a little bit out of hand. Loser. It's the name of the song Beck, by the way. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Dragon there on the Hauraki Big Show. 24 minutes past four this Friday afternoon with Keezy, Mogi and Pugsana. We're just in the middle of planning Pugs' housewarming. He's just moved into a one-bedroom apartment with his lovely partner. Spacious. Well, no. It's time for me to, and Mike as well, and the whole of Hauraki really, to pay it back to Pugs. He works so hard.

8:36Mike Minogue:He's done so much for the Big Show. The least we can do is have an absolute massive party at your place, Mike. I really appreciate the sentiment. You guys are really, really kind. I think it's important we keep in mind I've just moved in, and it's not a big place. That's fine. It's a one-bedroom with my party up here. Horses for courses, man. We'll put it to you that way. Yeah, yeah. Horses for courses. Yeah, horses for courses. We've had a lot of text come here on 3483, and if you've got any suggestions on things that we can do at this party, things that we can have, be it bands or any kind of entertainment, then fire them on through on the text machine there.

9:11Somebody here says, I have a donkey available for the massive piss up at Pugsans.

9:16Mike Minogue:A donkey, yeah, for like donkey rides. Donkey rides. Where's it going to ride? What do you mean? You say you've got a balcony? Yeah, I've got a little balcony. Put some straw up there, happy days. Oh, my God, that's brilliant. Can donkeys walk upstairs? Yeah, they're fine. They just can't walk down them. So once you get it in there, it's kind of your donkey. That's why when you go to Climb Everest, for example, you get to the top, there's just heaps of donkeys up there. There's heaps of donkeys, man. We were considering getting a cat, but this might be better. I have 12 close mates I want to bring to Pugsapalooza.

9:46Didn't you say three, like plus three?

9:48Mike Minogue:Yeah, but that's just, what's the difference between three people bringing plus threes or one person bringing plus 12? It's good, and we want it to be good. Also, Pugsapalooza, I like the name there. What about Pugstonbury? Oh, yes. Because both are, you know, it kind of gives it a bit of an air of it's going to be excellent. And so far we've locked in. I've heard back from P. Digs, Shapies are in. Yeah. What? We're looking three weeks' time. It'll be happening. And also, I have organised a pig on a spit because you can't have a party at Pug Sons without getting something on the spit. Yeah, true that.

10:18Mike Minogue:Pugs on a spit. No, no, no. Pig. Not me. Not a pug on a spit. I don't see why you can't have one. You can have both. You don't have to exclude just because you've got one doesn't mean you can't have the other. I think I'd like to exclude if that's okay. Okay, yeah, because sometimes you don't want to eat when you're at a party. I get it. Eating is cheating, eh, pugs? Yeah, man. In terms of the cleaning up, putting down drop sheets is probably a good idea, like mats, you know what I mean? I'll be honest with you, man. That's a responsible choice. When I throw a party, I don't really care about the cleaner because I'm not having anything to do with it.

10:51Yeah, right. And I think it's sort of a feeling of if you're putting down drop sheets, it's sort of a feeling of it's like when you have an apartment and people start cleaning up around you. Right. That'll be me. And it's sort of like, ugh. Jerry does that. It's not very welcoming. No. Do you know what I mean?

11:05Mike Minogue:You can do it if you want, Pugs, but don't just freak everyone out while you're doing it. I just want to respect it Respect what? Did you buy it? Nah, no So you're renting, so all good What about a mechanical jace? It's like a bull, but it's a bit broken Wouldn't be very fun to ride a mechanical jace You hop on it, it doesn't move, it just sighs What was that? Great text, 3483, thank you very much Naked mariachi band Yes But wearing backbone shirts, Winnie the Pooh style Very specific, I like it Once again, that could go out in the balcony with the donkey because we don't have a lot of space to work with at this particular venue.

11:44Mike Minogue:Venues I'm used to dealing with are far larger. We do have connections, though, so we can get a proper PA system set up. A lighting rig will be fine as well. Fireworks display. Oh, my God. Hang on. Where are you going to do that? Roof. Off the balcony. Oh, yeah, balcony. But you've already got the donkey and the mariachi band out there. Where are you going to put the fireworks? You need earmuffs for the donkey in a blindfold because they fire up at loud noises. Donkeys do, eh? Oh, they hate it. So donkey, I'm just writing this down, fireworks. That's why you never see a donkey at Guy Fawkes. Oh, my God.

12:19True, I haven't. You never have because they are psychos.

12:22Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah. Although you will see one in three weeks' time on your balcony. It's going to be great. And then I think we take your mattress that you've got. I do have one, yeah. We push it up against the wall and we turn that into sort of the dance area. or we use the bedroom for putting stuff on the spit. Yes. The pig. Well, that should go out on the balcony as well. The pig on the spit? The pig on the spit should be out there as well. How big is the balcony? Just because of the smell, you don't want to reek out the whole house with the pig. Just quickly. Because some people will be vegetarian.

12:49Mike Minogue:That's a good point. What's that? Pugs, how long is the balcony? It's probably like two, three metres. Yeah, that'll all fit, yeah. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. The Big Show Swingers Club is back. And this time, it's going global. That's right, we're off to Fiji to play some golf. Flying Fiji Airways, staying at the beautiful intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa where white sand beaches meet world-class hospitality. I cannot wait, fellas. Only just over four weeks away. Quick reminder, you guys got passports, right? Yeah. Yeah.

13:27Mike Minogue:Yeah, I got mine, man. Yep. Cool. Okay, cool, because that would be a debacle, wouldn't it? Yeah, that would be a debacle. But actually, I'm going through the process at the moment of trying to get my daughter's passport. Mogi Minogi. And it is an absolute debacle of a situation. Really? Just sending through the photos. So I go and get a photo done. I'll just get a proper one done at the pharmacy, you know, where they do. Nah, it's not good enough. Really? Not high enough resolution. Too close. It's been going for two weeks. I've been emailing different versions of photos every single day for the last two weeks.

13:59So Fiji better be worth it.

14:02Mike Minogue:Pretty sure it is, man. You've been before, right? I've been, yes. Oh, so you know. Yeah, I know, man. I get it. That's the thing, man. I get it. Have you been before, man? Fiji. Yeah. So you get it, man. I've been twice. You've been Fiji, Pugs? I have. So you get it. Yeah, I get it, man. That's the thing about you, Pugs. What's that, man? And you'll be getting it on the trip, too. What do you mean? You know. Okay. Let's go to the Lions. Who wants to join? Bob from Wellington, you mad bastard. How's it? Oh, shit. You know, mate? Thanks, King. How you going, Bob? I am King, boys. I'm going good.

14:34Mike Minogue:Beautiful day in Wellington today. Come on, man. Good to hear, mate. What do you do for a crust? Logistics manager still. Oh! I have a short lift, move boxes. Yeah. Massive back, man. That's backbone management. That's what that is. Bob, you like golf, mate? I play every week. I'm going to live in tomorrow to have a game. You lucky son of a bee. Are you going to the mate? Are they still got that nine-hole one out at Wateryrie? at Hokio, sorry? I'm not sure. I'm not sure. I only ever play 18 holes. Oh, God bless you. Yeah, same here. Same here. Bob, if you won, mate, who would you bring with you?

15:12My wife. She's sitting in the car next to me and so she's pointing at her.

15:18Mike Minogue:Yeah. Yeah, right. Yeah, nice. Nice, Bob. We'll hold you to that. Perfect, mate. You're officially in the draw, man. Good luck, all right? Good one. Have a good weekend, boys. You too, Bob. Thank you, mate. Carmen, you mad bastard. How's life? Great, thanks. Bloody good. Where are you calling from? I'm from Auckland. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I've heard of Auckland. What do you do for a crust there, Carmen? High school teacher. Oh, backbone teacher. Massive back, man. Well done. What's your favourite subject to teach, Carmen? It would be probably my own, health and PE. Nice. What's your preferred method?

15:54Do you go cane or strap? Oh, they're not really allowed these days. What?

15:59Mike Minogue:Come on, Carmen. It seems. But you secretly do it, though, eh, Carmen? You secretly cane your students. Behind closed doors. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nice, nice, nice. We'll send that off to the cops. Hypothetically. Oh, yeah. We probably should send that to the cops, actually. Carmen, if you won this competition, man, who would you bring to play golf? Definitely my husband. He's probably losing his mind in his car at the moment on the drone phone. Oh, what's his name? Justin. Justin. You were saying off air he's a bit of a dungy. Off air chat, guys. I hate chat. Yeah, yeah, true, true. Well, good luck for you, Carmen, and also Justin.

16:34Mike Minogue:All right, we'll chuck you in the draw. Thank you so much. Good on you, Carmen. They sound great. Backbones. How good was Bob halfway through me saying g'day? Hello. G'day. I'm here. I'm keen for Fiji. To be fair, we are very keen for Fiji. It's in a few weeks' time. Plenty more chances to win on the show today. 17:19Yes. Yes.

17:23Fellas, I started watching Happy Gilmore 2. Oh, Netflix. Yeah, it's on Netflix, man. It's not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

17:31Mike Minogue:Yeah? Yeah. I've heard terrible things. About half an hour into it. Nowhere near as bad as every other, because pretty much he's been terrible. I love Adam Sandler as a human. And loved his early stuff, but it's been some pretty terrible drack for a long, long time. So yeah, it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The problem I've got right with Happy Gilmore 2 I haven't watched it, I'm not going to watch it Because Happy Gilmore 1 was such a pivotal movie In my childhood I watched that movie a lot with my dad and my brother We loved it And it's the same with I don't know, movies from my childhood Which I absolutely love And now all of a sudden they're making sequels to them And like Zoolander 2 for example wasn't very good That was a big one for me when I was younger as well And I think it's too important I'm not going to watch it Because everyone I've talked to is going Oh it's okay Yeah.

18:20Mike Minogue:It needs to be as awesome as the first one. Oh, yeah. Otherwise, I don't want to watch it. It's never going to happen. Yeah, unfortunately. No, no, no. So, so far, it's two buzzies out of five. Right. Out of a possible five. And I'll let you know when I finish watching it, probably in about a year and a half. How many cameos have you seen so far? Oh, about 50. In the first half an hour? About 50. And believe it or not, it doesn't help the storyline. Oh. No. Yeah. I'll never forget, Game of Thrones had Ed Sheeran in an episode. Oh, really? Yeah. Like in the fifth season or something. Right. And it was just before they kind of went off a wee bit of a cliff compared to the quality of the earlier seasons.

18:53Mike Minogue:There's something about cameos for me which just draw me straight out. It's like when Keith Richards, who I love, was in Pirates of the Caribbean. I was just, oh, it's Keith Richards. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. I agree. They ruin the immersion. Pugs, what did you watch, man? I watched, well, I attempted to watch another episode of Alien Earth, which is by FX, and it's on Disney+. Oh, yeah. It's a TV show, is it? It's a TV show, the first alien TV show in the franchise there. It's an alien TV show? Yeah. And it's set before the original Alien. And it's basically about a ship of dangerous creatures that have been caught for research crash lands on a futuristic Earth and they all escape.

19:38And one of them is the titular character or the titular creature, the alien, the xenomorph. Right, okay. Any good? Nah, it's ass. It's really ass. I reviewed it on my sub stack, actually, if you remember that. You remember that, bad boy? Yeah. I reviewed the first two episodes, and I just really couldn't get around it. Didn't draw me in. You know when they try to add lore to a story, and it's really not necessary? Like, they're just trying to expand on a universe where it's not needed. We don't need to know what happened here. And also, the main character is a cyborg, so there's no real human danger.

20:14Right. At least in the first two or three episodes, which is when you need to draw me in. I need to have some human danger. And also, massive inconsistencies. You've seen Alien. Have you seen Alien?

20:25Mike Minogue:Yeah, ages ago. Who's seen the poster? That is the most terrifying, dangerous creature on the planet. And they managed to bring it out into the light, ruin all the mystery and danger around it, and it's just running around like an animal. Is the robot hot? Yeah, she's all right. Oh, it's a she. How many buzzies do you give the robot? Out of five. I'll rate the show for you, man. And it's a solid one and a half. One and a half pussies out of five. How do you describe it? As ass. Yeah. And you love ass, you were saying off air, but you say you don't like it. What's that? Huh? Huh? What? The Hauraki Big Show.

21:02Mike Minogue:Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Bit of super groove on your Friday afternoon here on the Hauraki Big Show. Four minutes to five o 'clock with Kizimogi and Pug-san. Coming up after five, the Friday throbber. Of course, today's theme is Hoity J's holiday. Yeah. He's currently knee-deep in his vacation and will be back on Monday. You guys got big tunes lined up for that? Relatively big. I like mine. I think it's quite big. It's big in my mind and in my heart. Yeah, right. Okay, I've got quite a softie. Oh, yeah? But it's one that people, I think, will get in. What else is new? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

21:32Mike Minogue:Come on, man. Also, after 5 o 'clock, another chance to get yourself in the draw to join us in Fiji, plus a chance to win some cash, too, with the TRB Big Bet, so make sure you stay tuned. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

21:54It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday Throbber.

21:58Mike Minogue:Oh, Throbber. That's right, the Friday Throbber. We each pick a song to a particular theme. You then call us on 0800HAURAKI. Vote for which one you like the most. It gets played in full and that person gets a score on the scoreboard. I'm currently way, way in the back. Yeah. You and Jase, Mike, are way out in front. We're in the front, man. And Pugsan's actually closing in on me. Oh, really? And he's only here every now and then. Yes, every now and then. You're only two wins away from me. Holy! It's crazy. Today's theme, though, is Hoardy J's holiday. Fellas, who wants to go first? I'm happy going first.

22:34This is what I think old Hoardy Jizzbott will be up to on his four-day holiday.

22:44You love this song.

22:55That is the feel-good hit of the summer by Queens of the Stone.

23:01Mike Minogue:It's a massive tune, that one. I think the exact opposite, right? Yeah. I think I can picture Hoardy J doing pretty much nothing. If he does go somewhere, it'll be pretty close by. Yeah. There's one version I can see where he sort of gets out of bed, he makes a cup of coffee, he sits down, you see the sun come up in the background and then go down and then he sighs once and then goes back to bed. Yeah. And he does that four days in a row. I could see that happening. He would love that. So I've gone for a different vibe. This is more what I'm picturing for Hoardy J.

23:39Mike Minogue:On the road again Just can't wait to get on the road again Because it was a four-day holiday. The life I love is making music with my friends I can't wait to get on the road again I just think that's more of a hoity J On Holiday vibe. Yes. And he'll be going on the road again to his family batch, which is an hour away. Yeah. That'll be a huge deal for him. Yes. Yes, that's my choice. That's a great choice, man. I just picked an absolute tune titled Holiday by Turnstile.

24:22Because he's on holiday. Yeah.

24:28We need more Turnstile on Horaki. There you go, man. The first couple of seconds I was a bit worried there for you. So was I.

24:33Mike Minogue:Yeah. We need more turnstile or we could have more phooies. What do you reckon? You decide, New Zealand. Give us a call on 0800 Hauraki. We've also got a biffy Clyro vinyl to give away. We'll pick someone randomly from the callers through. So 0800 Hauraki, have your say on the Friday throbber. In the meantime, another absolute throbber. It's Nirvana. Smells like teen spirit. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday Throbber It sure is Doosh, doosh And it's the biggest thing in New Zealand radio It is The Friday Throbber on Radio Hauraki We each pick a tune Today's theme is Hoi DJ's Holiday Yes Mogi, you got us started with an absolute banger I did, here it is

25:37Mike Minogue:Queens of the Stone Age, feel good hit of the summer. I went for something a little more Hoity J's speed. Also a song that came out when he was in his mid-30s.

25:52Listen to that, man. On the road again. Just can't wait to get on the road again.

26:01Mike Minogue:Heading to the family batch. Bit of Willie Nelson there on the road again. And that is Jase on his way to the family batch for probably one night. And then coming back. To beat the traffic. Yes. I went for a song by Turnstile called Holiday.

26:35Mike Minogue:Nice. You know what I'm saying, man? Yeah, man. You know what I'm saying. Pugs coming in red hot there. Let's go to the line, see what New Zealand wants to hear. Jack from Auckland, how you going, brother? Good, thank you. And you? Yeah, really good, Jack. Which song would you like to see win the thrower today, man? Keezy, please. Oh, on the road again with Jack. Good on you, Jack, mate, you backbone. Thanks for calling. Well, Randall, you're in a hurricane. How you doing, mate? How you going? Yeah, good, mate. Good thanks, Randall, man. Who are you voting for today? Oh, mate, it's got to be Keezy.

27:10Oh, my God. See, this is the trouble, right? This is the sort of thing where Jase will get the vote for this. Keezy, you complained that it wasn't a throbber, but at the end of the day, the public wanted it. So the issue is not the music. The issue is our listeners. We've got to get new listeners.

27:24Mike Minogue:Yeah. And we've discussed this a lot. Like, our listeners are derbrates. Yeah, exactly. You know what I mean? And we just got to cater to it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. What I like the most about this is that Pugs would have spent hours finding the most hard-out holiday-based, deep-cut song from a band no one's heard of. Yes. And got no votes. Okay. That was very... Can I just say, Keezy? Love you to death, man. Very antagonistic of you. What are you talking about? That was real wind-up stuff. Welcome to the big show, PagSar. Oh, is that what this is? That's what the big show is, man. It's a bloody tune, all right?

27:55Mike Minogue:Mogi, I'm surprised you didn't get more votes because that is one of their biggest bangers. Well, it is an absolute tune, but what you've done there, Keezy, you've gone both ends of the spectrum there. You've got a vote of an eight-year-old and the vote of an 80-year-old. That is unbelievable. That is unbelievable. Right now to hug it. Here you go, New Zealand, turn it up. An absolute throbber of a tune. It's Willie Nelson on the road again. Pitch a hoity J driving to the family batch in his 2007 Mazda Acceler. Spot on tune. On the road again. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

28:29Mike Minogue:Got us a tune. Chemical Brothers let forever be on the Hauraki Big Show. 22 minutes past five this Friday afternoon. Just a few texts here. Just quickly, fellas, on 3483. Throbber Gold. Turns out that was a tune. Okay, so hopefully people that haven't heard that song before did enjoy it, it was Willie Nelson on the road again. But right now it's time for... It's the Hauraki Big Show Big Bet with the GAB. That's right, the Big Show Big Bet, where you give us a call on 0800 Hauraki, then our man Dilly from the office. Our resident guy. The resident guy. He is here in the studio. Welcome, Dilly. G'day, guys.

29:05Mike Minogue:How are we going? Happy Friday. Yeah, happy Friday, man. We're going to go to Luke. I believe, Luke, you there, man? Yeah, mate, yeah. Yeah, nice, Luke. What do you do for a crust, brother? Plumber. A plumber. A plumber. A man of a few words. Yeah, nice, nice. And Luke, you much of a sports fan? Yeah, I'm a boy. Yeah, good on you. All right. Dilly, why don't you tell him his two bets that he gets to choose between? Right. We've gone big again, which is curious because I don't think we've actually had one come in yet. No. Hey, Luke, your first option. We've got Lando Norris to win the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Monday morning with fastest lap, which is paying six bucks.

29:47Mike Minogue:or any NRL finals game this weekend to go to Golden Point, which is paying$7.50. Wow, Luke, which one of those would you like us to put a$100 bonus bet on, man? I'll go with NRL, mate. NRL, good on you, mate. We'll lock that in. So it's a$100 bonus bet. If it comes in, we just take that$100 back. You get the rest of the cash. That's a good$600 there, mate. We'll just pop you on hold and we'll hook you up after this. Don't forget to gamble responsibly. Of course. R18 as well and that's all thanks to the TAB your home for sports multis in play betting and power plays all the T's and C's at haraki.co.nz feels good stuff Pug San nice not having to do all the admin actually it's good stuff you liking it man yeah it just gives my voice a bit of a rest I feel like I get too keezied out you know yeah keezy man just look after yourself man do you ever get sick of my voice Moggy I love it man I can't get enough of it what else you got to tell me anything oh look just some updates on 3483 about your throbber again?

30:46Mike Minogue:No, about Pugs' housewarming that we were organising. Oh yes. Basically we are organising a massive housewarming for Pugs to say thank you. So far we've organised Shapeys. They're going to be doing a little set. Pig on a Spit. It's going to be great. There's going to be a Mary Archie band wearing backbone tees but only the tees bottom half will be naked. They'll be out on the balcony. There'll be a donkey on the balcony wearing earmuffs and a blindfold because we're also going to have fireworks on the balcony. And it's a two metre balcony. Yeah. What? And a foam party. It's going to be a foam A phone party.

31:16Mike Minogue:That text came through, 3483, a phone party. Where's that going to go? Everywhere. Oh. Or we could, well, eventually, classic phone party. We could do it in a wet area like the bathroom, you know, because that's used to moisture. I don't see why everyone else would get robbed of it. Unless you have separate areas, you have a phone party in the bathroom. That makes sense. That does make sense. And then jelly wrestling everywhere else. What? Everywhere else. You know what we could do? Just jelly all over my new apartment. Yeah. Well, you know what we could do is we could get a little jelly, inflatable pool and put that out on the balcony as well.

31:45Mike Minogue:Yes. With the donkey and the Winnie the Pooh mariachi band. That's right, and the fireworks. And the geisha girls. And the geisha girls. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. What? What? Someone texted saying they wanted geisha girls. Racism alert. It would only be racist, folks, if you didn't want them to come. I don't fire that off. It happens automatically. Yeah, that's shocking from you. They must have detected that he didn't want them. Someone here's got a really good point. What about a big bowl that everyone can put their car keys in so they don't get lost. Oh yeah. And also... But won't that make all the cocaine dirty?

32:15What? The Hodaaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaaki.

32:24Mike Minogue:REM, the end of the world as we know it. It is the Hodaaki Big Show with Keezy, Mogi and old Pugsana over there. Old Pugsana over there, eh? Yeah. Five, six, seven, eight. Men, men, men, men, men, men, men, men, men. Yeah. Men, men, men, men, men, men, men, men, men, men, men, men, men.

32:47One and a half mogies. Sorry, I forgot I had to do the Jase bit. You had to do the hoity J bit. Yeah. I thought I'd massively cocked it up. Yeah, you went low. That was my bad. Jase got mad last time when I went high. He always gets mad. He's always mad about something. He won't be mad when he gets back though because he'll be all rested up after his holes. After his big vacation. Fellas, we're right on the cows pier. We're going into another couple of weeks of school holidays. Feels like we just had school holidays, doesn't it? But more are on our doorstep. And so the question becomes, what do we do with our kids?

33:22You guys don't have any, so you don't ask yourself this question. But a lot of people in New Zealand do. A lot of listeners out there will have. So I've got my daughter, old Mogi there. Mogi, Mogi, Mogi. Young Mogi, as I like to call her, in school holiday programs. Right, nice. And there's bloody heaps of the bastards out there. I used to do them. Love them. We never did when we were kids. They didn't exist. I didn't do them either. No. It was just go outside and play, pretty much. Right. Throw water balloons at passing traffic and, you know, burglarise your neighbour's houses, that sort of stuff.

33:57Oh, wow. Just innocent sort of schoolyard sort of days sort of thingies that you do when you're a young fellow there. But, yeah, there's all sorts of stuff. It's not cheap, but it's better than looking after your kids yourself. So there's a tennis one. Oh, yeah. There's an art one. There's arts and crafts. There's zoo tours and museums and all sorts of different stuff. And there's normally like 20 or 30 kids in these programs. So a great opportunity for you to get out there and get your kids a little bit educated while sort of washing your hands of any kind of responsibility around them.

34:33Mike Minogue:Yeah, right. Because I remember as a kid loving the school holidays, hating being told to go on these holiday programs. Yes. And I could see that that's now going to change once I have kids to I now do not like the school holidays just because of all the extra admin around having the kids at home. Yeah, I mean, I like having my kid around. I'm different to a lot of parents, but it's bloody pricey, man. Really? It's bloody, yeah, they're expensive. Right. So sort of, I think, nine till three for the tennis one. Right. That's six grand Six grand? Six grand What? How long is this? Two weeks? No, one week One week So that's the first week So it's pretty pricing But the quality of the teaching Right So they take all the kids And they teach them the basics of tennis and stuff Of tennis, that's right And who does the money go to?

35:22Mostly it's adults playing tennis And you get to learn from The kids get to learn from them So they'll be sitting down Right They'll be sitting down along the baselines at either end and at the net as well you get a turn to be a boy boy or girl. You sit there otherwise with your hands on your knees and you just watch and learn. Yeah right. So it's a great way of doing it. It's a great opportunity for kids to see. And everyone sort of less interactive. Everyone gets a chance

35:49Mike Minogue:to be a boy boy. Yeah a boy boy yeah. Oh that's good. It's pretty good. Right and so does the cash pay for like the coach and stuff I guess and the use of the. Yeah so the renting of the court. So the court rental is about six bucks an hour. Oh wow And then, of course, I've got to get all the kids down to the tennis court as well. What do you mean? You have to. That's a whole bunch of Ubers. So this is the program that I'm running. Oh, you run it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's six grand each for the kids. And you can come down and watch me and my wife play tennis. I mean, learn how to play tennis.

36:20Right. So my wife and I. Now, you've got to bring your own. You've got to pack your own lunch. Right, because usually that's included. Yeah.

36:26Mike Minogue:For six grand. That's a lot. It can be. Right. But that's another grand. Oh, yeah. No, that's good. Yeah, yeah, yeah. and then you just got to pick your kit up at the end of the day. I'm leaving at three, around 2.30. Doesn't it go to five? Quarter past two, quarter past two, 2.30 around there, there or thereabouts. It goes to five. So I recommend picking them up early because the gates lock. Well, not lock, but you can pull them two. So they're pretty safe. Oh, wow. Yeah. Sorry, I thought, and is your daughter hanging out with all the kids? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. She's sort of, she's sort of, she's got that sort of prison yard vibe about her.

37:01So if anybody steps out of line, she's got the tennis racket there. You know, just keep them in check. Have you been branded with a tennis ball at close quarters, Pugson? Oh, yeah. Yeah, it's not something you soon forget, brother.

37:14Mike Minogue:Not by a six-year-old. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. The Big Show Swingers Club is back. And this time, it's going global. Going global, all right. We're going miles across the globe to beautiful Fiji. Thanks to Fiji Airways, we're staying at the Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa. We are also going to be having massages. We're going to be going snorkeling. Oh, yeah. It's a reef tour, man. A reef tour, which I imagine we park up in a boat, hop out, look around the reef, maybe. Yeah, that sounds about right. Yeah. You done many reef tours? Maybe one. Yeah? Maybe one.

37:54Mike Minogue:Yeah. I did a reef tour a few years back. when I went to Fiji for a wedding. Yeah. And I saw three turtles. Wow. You're joking. No. It was magical, man. So I hope we see some turtles. I don't know if they're from that area. I heard there's sharks, but like they're the little cute ones, like the sort of harmless ones. Yeah, sure. Yeah. They call them hoity jay sharks. Yeah. Because they've got really blunt teeth and they've got a massive nose. Ah, let's go to the lions. Let's go to the lions. Actually, Pugs, you can choose, man. You feel free. Yeah, sure. Oh, cool, man. Let's have a look here. Good job.

38:26Mike Minogue:Tai Nui, how are you? Oh, I am great. Oh, killed into that, Tai Nui. You play some golf, man? You like golf? What? I do love golf. I do love golf very much. Happy Friday. Happy Friday to you. What's your favorite beer to drink, man? Oh, it's got to be the new one coming up called the Hazy Nipple. Oh, yeah. The Hazy Nipple. You guys like that? You like that? Yeah, I wouldn't mind sucking back a few nips. Okay. Let Mike and Tainui do that. If he wins the Fiji trip, I'll be leaving them alone. Tainui, what do you do for a crust, brother? I build cabins and deliver cabins to people's properties. Oh, me?

39:10Oh, mate. Yeah. Right. I call that a backbone. Backbone. That's a backbone job, that is. Yeah, good on you, mate.

39:17Mike Minogue:Thanks, guys. Thanks, guys. Hey, Tainui, have you started having Friday drinks by any chance? Oh, yeah, I have. I just had a sneaking suspicion. We're just jealous, man. We're just jealous. That's all it is. Ty Nui. Hey, if you were to win this trip, brother, and go to Fiji, who would you bring with you? I'd bring my wife. Yeah. Good on you, Ty Nui. All right, we'll chuck you in the draw, man. All right, good luck. Thank you, guys. Good on you, brother. You guys are awesome. Oh, you're awesome, man. That's Ty Nui. We love you. Oh, here he is. Gary from Wellington. How's it going, man? Oh, good, thanks.

39:52Mike Minogue:Feel. You feel. Good on you, Gary. What do you do for a crust there, Gary? I'm a commercial sales and estimating manager. Oh, you're a goddamn backbone there, Gary. Backbone manager. Yeah. Gary, do you like golf, man? Have you heard of golf? Yeah, I don't mind it. Yeah, because of the USA, man. I like the honesty, though. He's absolutely frothing about the prospect. No, no, no. I absolutely love it, man. Yeah, right. But I love it. Yeah, nice. Who would you bring, man, if you won this trip? My word. Okay, we've got a couple of absolute specimens on this evening. Bloody good, Gary. You sound like a good bloke to have on a Fiji trip, mate.

40:32Mike Minogue:You're in the draw. Good luck. Oh, thanks. Thanks, guys. No worries, mate. Hold the line. Well, your Taino is already hung up. Yeah, I've already put them in the draw. Oh, you put them in the draw. Okay, great. They can get off the line. Yeah, right, okay. Beat it. I just thought he might have been too steamed and he just jumped off accidentally. He's at the perfect Friday levels there. He was. He is loving life, man. Yes. Just a hint. Big shout out to Fiji Airways for making this possible. Also the Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa. We're going to Fiji where happiness comes naturally.

41:07Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki. Damn right it's the Hauraki Big Show. It's also Friday the 19th of September 2025 and you are listening to The Big Show and it's brought to you by Reburger. Crave worthy street food freshly made with Reburger. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum. Bloody good stuff. Mogi, are you going to get any Reburger this weekend, man? No, man, I had some last weekend, so I'm just trying to pace myself a little bit because I can see how the addiction would get out of hand. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, in fact, I've had it twice this week.

41:37Yeah, you have. That's enough, man. I got some last night, fellas. Did you? Really? Uber Eats to my house, yeah. Wow, was it good? After that gig, yeah, it was mean. So two in two days? Yeah. Wow, and that's from Mogi, who's like a recovering Reburger. Man, that's shocking. Sorry about that, man. No, no, no, I'm not trying to be insensitive to your issue. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was really excited for me and my own experience. Yeah. Yeah, right. What did you go for? It was an Impossible Burger, actually. It was a vegetarian one. Yeah, right. And then I got two fries. Did you? Only two? What? Did you complain?

42:07Sorry, two packs of fries. That's good. It was yummy, though. It was so good.

42:14Mike Minogue:Of course it was. It was so mean. It was a re-burger there. I've never... Get into the night. I've got something against Uber Eats and stuff. What? There's something deep within my soul which stops me from paying for delivery of food, unless it's a party or something. Right. Because I always think it's five minutes for me to drive there and it's way cheaper. Sure. So I just, I don't know what it is. I wish I'd get over it because Uber Eatsing seems great. That's great. I'd rather be like you. Would your mind change at all if it was buy one, get one free on the fries? Because that's what I had.

42:45And that really sold me. And it was only available via Uber Eats?

42:48Mike Minogue:Yes. Yeah, but then you've still got to pay for the delivery. I feel like I should just go there and buy two fries. It'd be the same. Also, the only time I Uber Eats is when I'm hung. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I'm saying? Well, I did it on the way home from the gig, so I was making decisions that were very responsible at that time. Actually, just on the gig, we've got to talk about this a little later on because Pugs did promise quite a lot. Yes. And then he under-delivered. Also coming up, if you've entered the draw for Big Deck Energy, we'll be calling a listener and giving them$2 ,500 worth of kit thanks to Trey Tested.

43:21Mike Minogue:So make sure your phone's on. Ah! Red! Ah! All right, chillies. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. It's a lovely song, isn't it? It's beautiful, man. Oh, man. It's the Big Show with Keezy, Mogi and Pugsan and Horty J back on Monday. Mogi, you know how Pearl Jam have got some absolute belters, right? And then they've got some really nice, like nothing, man? Yes, bellety thingies. Like nice little, like, Yeah, they've got a good range. Good range. That's true, man. Yeah. You've always said that. You guys that want to add any more about Pearl Jam?

43:57Yeah. I feel like everything that can be said about Pearl Jam has been said about Pearl Jam.

44:02Mike Minogue:Now that I've said that, that thing I just said, that's everything ticked off. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, just on bands and that, last night I judged a Battle of the Bands competition. It was absolutely fantastic. The band that won killed. They did a cover of TLC's Waterfalls. Yeah. and they absolutely crushed it. It was awesome. One of the other judges - Was it Rocky? No, kind of. No, it just was a really, really good rendition and they mixed it in with about - It was like a medley of songs from the 90s and 2000s. Right. Played with rock instruments and stuff, but they very much nailed it. The other judge was Bo Runger.

44:38Mike Minogue:Oh, yes. How good. From Stella. So I was like, why am I here? Yeah, that was a good question. Did anyone have an answer for that? Nah. But they kept giving me free beers. Nice. That was sick. Yeah. Well, that would have been difficult for her to concentrate, of course, because you were in your muscle tee. So Bo Runga would have been like, oh, my God. Yeah, who's this stud over here? Well, no, I had my muscle tee, and I feel like I've said it like 100 times. It was on under a dress shirt. But you can still tell. Like, I saw you, and I'm like, boom, that's a muscle tee. Yeah. You can just see it.

45:09You can tell by the ribbing and the deepening. You can, the deepening. Yeah, the tissue. Right, yeah, yeah. Aren't you supposed to wear muscle tees underneath your dress shirt, though? Yeah, but normally you'd have it buttoned up, not open. Oh, okay. Yeah.

45:21Mike Minogue:With your gold chain sort of hanging on your chest. It wasn't a gold chain, it was a ponamu. But I have put it on a gold chain, though. Yeah. Because, you know, I'm a humble skux. But I was judging with Bo Runga. Now, before we left, just to paint a little picture, Mogi, Pug-san said to me, I'm keen for a massive one tonight. Oh, yeah, but he wasn't talking about drinking. What were you talking about? Huh? I thought you were talking about drinking. Don't do that to the mic. Put a mic on the mic. That's off-putting. He said he's keen for a big one, so I was like, cool. I'm keen to have a big one as well.

45:55Mike Minogue:The gig started just after 7. Yes. It was supposed to wrap at 11. Right. And what time did you go home, Pugs? Look, Chris, I would say that I got there at approximately maybe 7.30 or something like that. Not the question. After the show here. Just did the podcast and stuff, made the potties and everything for the show and then I made my way straight there because I was like, I've got to see Kesey on the judging. And I've got to see that muscle singlet in action. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? But I did end up leaving at approximately 8.30pm. We were there for an hour. Is that right? Roughly, yeah.

46:28Yeah, right.

46:29Mike Minogue:So how do you respond to that, right? Because not everyone from Hodaki went. Like, Isaac went. Isaac's not from Hodaki. No, but he's from here. We covered this yesterday. And he's a lead. And he was like, he's one of us. No one's denying that. You know, Hayley, who does our - Weston Ra. Weston Ra. This isn't what's on the dinner. No, it's not. Or Hayley who comes over from the CI team. Yeah. They were the only ones still there. I was ready for a huge night with Pugson. Yeah. Not only did you leave at 8.30, you didn't even say goodbye. No. Well, if I can put it to you this way, Chris, there was a member of our party who was playing some form of human pinball in the mosh.

47:06Right. And I made an executive decision at a point right after TLC because I had to stick around for that. Yeah. It was huge. I made an executive decision that I personally needed to leave Right And I was hoping deep down that this person would join me Right On my exit of the venue

47:24Mike Minogue:Right, because that's weird So this person obviously wasn't just a regular member of NZME Because that would be a weird thing to try Not a regular, not a regular by any means, Chris Because you were going to meet up with your missus there last night Yeah Weren't you going to meet up with her? Yeah Because I was excited to drink with the both of you actually responsibly Oh, 100 % man And don't get me wrong and we talked about it all night the night before, we were keen as to see old Keezy in action. Yeah, right. What happened? And how did she feel about you bringing home this random NZME person?

47:53Mike Minogue:Pugs? What? She, look. What? I just, it was. What? Why are you so weird? She's in Studio B right now, so it's just like. She's giving you the absolute evils, but I think we can tiptoe around it. You were saying she got maggoted. Oh, was it her? What? The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki. Go, that's the tune. Queens of the Stone Age on the Hauraki Big Show. It is Friday evening with Keezy Pugsan and Mogi. Hoody J back Monday, which is exciting. Also exciting, fellas. $2 ,500 worth of kit from tradetested.co.nz to give away. Man. We've been running Big Deck Energy, which is basically you go to hauraki.co.nz.

48:35Mike Minogue:You tell us what you want from Tradetested, and then every Friday this month we've been calling a winner. It's time to do it again, Pugs. Who are we calling? We're calling Hayden, and he's from Palmy. Shall I get him on the line, fellas? Yeah, give him a call. That's your old stomping ground, Pugs. It was for a wee while. They lived on a farm in Opeki. You said it sucked. What's that? Did it suck? A little bit, yeah. Yeah. In parts, yeah. Yeah, I can have a good time, fellas. Afternoon, Hayden speaking. G'day, Hayden. It's old Keezy and Moggy and Pugs here, man. How you doing? Oh, Keezy. Oh, sorry.

49:07Should I say Tony?

49:08Mike Minogue:Ah! Oh, God, man. How are you going this Friday afternoon, brother? Oh, I'm good. I'm ready to clock off, I tell you. Yeah, nice, man. Yeah, same, man. How's Palmy today? Average, like usual. Oh, man, that's good. Tell me, man, have they still got the fat lady's arms down there? Mate, I don't even go into town anymore. Place is a dump. Yeah, fair play, brother. Was it a bar? Yeah, it was a bar back in my day. Oh, wow. I used to go out to drive up from Levin there, go to the fat lady's arms, and then we got kicked out in town, shut down, sleep in your car. Hell yeah. Drive home at 7 in the morning.

49:42When I was living there, the cob went really hard? Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, see, there you go. Hey, whereabouts in Palmy are you, Hayden? Down by the river, Awa Poonie. Oh, Awa Poonie. Rich guy. Rich guy. What about High Flyers, man? Is High Flyers still there? No, that place is gone. Oh, long gone. There's that little McDonald's that was there. I got decked outside that.

50:04Mike Minogue:Oh, sick. It's a ritual. Did you say decked? Yeah, well, that's funny you say that, Moggy. Was it a big deck? Funny you say that because I'm calling for big deck energy, man. You familiar with that competition, Hayden? Oh, I might have heard of it before, yeah. Yeah, yeah. So what you had to do is you had to go to hodaki.co.nz, get yourself in the drawer and put together a little shopping list from Trade Tested. Did you do just that? I might have. I might have done that. All right, I've got the list right here. so you asked for a water blaster, a scarifier. What's a scarifier again? Makes it scary.

50:39Makes your lawn look good, mate. Does it?

50:41Mike Minogue:Oh, does it? Yeah, right, okay. Does it like punch holes in the ground? Is that what it does? Yeah, bit of that, bit of this, bit of that. Yeah, right. He's got no idea either. He doesn't know either. It's bloody good. A steel gas fire table, some garden edging and storage combo, man. The great news for you, thanks to Trey Testers, is all that stuff is officially yours, Hayden. Cheegoo on you boys Get it in you No worries brother Your deck is going to be looking like the pride of Palmy North man Thanks so much for entering the competition brother We'll chuck you on hold and we'll sort you out in a sec alright Awesome cheers mate No worries Seems like a good rooster Yeah he does Yeah yeah I wish I had a deck Hey check out more at tradetester.co.nz Am I right?

51:24I think we've got one more of these next week Okay admin guy What?

51:27Mike Minogue:It is funny calling the person who does the admin admin guy. Admin boy. Admin boy. No, I'm admin boy. That was really funny. Oh, possessive. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Here's Linkin Park. The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaki. God, the Ramones. Absolute tune on the Hodaki Big Show this Friday evening. You've got Keezy, Mogi, and old Pugson. Let's give out some advice.

51:52Mike Minogue:meetpattynips69 at gmail.com Get in touch. Fellas. With the fellas. With the fellas. It's a real email address. meetpattynips69 at gmail.com You get in touch. It's 100 % anonymous. Yeah. You ask a question. We give advice. And if we read it on the radio slash podcast, you get a$50 re-burger voucher. Today's one comes in from Keezy. Oh, Keezy. What? I need some advice, fellas. Yeah, man. and it's a pressing issue because it's going to be happening in an hour's time. Sorry, did you email this in? I didn't email it in but I just figured, hey. I want you to know this doesn't count but I appreciate the opportunity to sing along to The Sting so I'm going to let it pass.

52:31Yeah. Do I? You don't get any potential win for a voucher? Well, no, because you didn't email it to meetpattynip69 at gmail.com. Can I quickly do that now? Yeah. Really? Go on. Type it up. Okay, I'm typing it up. We'll wait. Why don't you just read it out to siri.com or whatever, you know?

52:47Mike Minogue:No, no, I like to type the old-fashioned way. Okay. So I'll go home and type that out. Basically, the advice I need, fellas, is I've got the neighbours coming around tonight to our house for dinner. Not dinner, finger food and drinks. Yeah, you don't want to get full with what you've got ahead of you after that. You don't need people to get into a slumber. Yeah. Mogi. When it's time to hit the old. Can I just, just before we get into this. Just bloated and all that. Do you want to borrow my bowl from my housewarming man? Your keys and the bowl. Don't make the keys because everyone's in the house.

53:17Mike Minogue:Can I just quickly, just so you know, so the neighbours are like a 50 - and 60-year-old woman whose partner is 60. You're a sick bastard, yeah. You're a mad dog. And then the other neighbours, they're in the house joined to ours, and that's a Singaporean man in his 60s and his son who's probably in his mid-30s. So it's not exactly like, I know what you guys are saying, that's not the vibe at all. They're not the perfect numbers, but beggars, you know. Am I a beggar? Biggers can't be choosers. In this situation, yes, you will be. How many buzzies? What do you mean? What'd you rate them? His neighbours, five.

53:54Mike Minogue:Oh, okay. Five buzzies out of five. They're all fantastic. Now, and also, I'm not trying to tee up some sort of weird neighbours party thing. I know what you're saying. You already have teated it. No, no, I know. You're coming over tonight. No, I know, but it's just a regular party. Is that what you said is not a party? What's going on? You said it's finger food. What? Is there a question here? Well, yeah, I'm trying to get to it. It's about what we're going to be eating.

54:16Mike Minogue:Um, three, what? Huh? Finger foods. Hmm. Nice. Basically my wife was, has asked me to stop at the old super on the way home, grab some stuff. Cause they're all going to be here at seven 30 on the dot. I bet on the dot. Uh, they will be to be honest. Cause it's quite late. First and first served. Pugs on what's that? First and first served. Yeah. On the finger foods. What? What are you? Why are you just saying that to Pugs on? It's weird. Well, he doesn't know. Oh yeah. I'm learning about what? Finger foods Right, it's first in Well, you're right, Mogi It is first in first serve When it comes to finger foods Yes I suggested sausage rolls Great choice Is it though?

54:56Mike Minogue:No A bit paste, but dusty Do you know what I mean? You have a plate You have sauces Oh, yeah So you're going to have a sauce A little bit of tamati sauce Self-saucer? Huh? My wife really wants to make Asparagus wraps So like bread with asparagus In the middle And a little bit of butter Yeah That's a no Why? Just because of the percentage of people that then have it affect, I think it's 40 % of people, it affects the smell of the urine. But that doesn't matter. We're not all going to be in one room sniffing each other's urine. Why would that be an issue? I mean, they're just going to be going to the loo.

55:29Mike Minogue:They might be able to smell it. I'm not going to smell it. Okay. No. It's all good, man. Oh, I didn't come out for a fight. I'm just saying. Yeah, I was just wondering how you guys felt about those food choices. So what have we got so far? We've got sausage rolls and asparagus rolls. So all you have offering is rolls. You think that's how far your ideas go? Just rolls? Oh no, we've got dessert. Something wrapped in something else? We've got dessert. Go on. Profitur rolls? The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

56:08Mike Minogue:That is the week done and dusted. Friday the 19th of September. Cross that one off the old calendar there. 57:05Mike Minogue:Today's one's about your sick fade man Oh my god, haircut chat Do you think my hair should be longer? What matters is that you love it to this. The main thing, bro, is that you're happy. I mean. No, I'm not, because I want to know. Honestly, man, are you happy? Yeah. I'm f***ing thrilled. You reminded me, actually, because what happened on the outro was that you guys were a bit iffy on my latest lid. No. Just a little bit. Iffy is not the word that I would use at all. If anybody was, it was him. It wasn't me. I wasn't iffy on it. Iffy is not the word. You're allowed to be iffy on my lid. I know, and I'm telling you I'm not iffy.

57:40Mike Minogue:There you go. There you go. I told you. All right. Yeah, but it's just that. Okay, all good. I'm going to wear a hat for the next like three weeks, but don't read anything into it.
