In short

The Hauraki Big Show episode mixes comedy banter with segments on a celebrity wedding rumour, TV recommendations, rugby (All Blacks vs France and the Nations Championship), boots/“lists” jokes, pie promotion, and a studio interview about Brin and Koo’s Singles Club season two.

Guests

Brinley Stent and Koda Forest (stars of Brin and Koo’s Singles Club). Brinley and Koda are comedians/TV personalities who travel and film dating-focused conversations; season one was YouTube-first, and season two continues the format with them now in relationships.

Key claims

Hosts say they attended “Taylor Swift’s wedding” under an NDA, served kebabs, with a first dance to “Walk” by Pantera; they also claim the All Blacks’ new direction looks better after earlier “crabbing” issues. Brinley/Koda say season two drops all six episodes on YouTube at once, with weekly social teases, and that partners largely don’t appear.

Notable examples

“My captain, my captain” (Dead Poets Society); rugby score NZ 34-32 France; Nations Championship format; mukbang discussion; “Singles Club” renamed jokingly as “Taken Club.”

0:00Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Thanks to crave-worthy street food. Freshly made with Reburger.

0:08Keyzie:Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show. With Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh, g'day you mad boss. It's great to have your company this Monday afternoon. It is the 6th of July 2026. And you, my friends, as always, listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburger.

0:34Keyzie:Yummy. I reckon. G'day, Moogies. Stallion, how's life? Going pretty grousey, you mad dog. You're a sick bastard, aren't you, mate? Eh? Well. Shocking bastard. But we'll get into that after five. Oh, okay. Yeah, we're going to get pretty deep on that. And what a hell of a weekend it was, man. She was rammed to the gills with sport. She was. It's very relaxing, except for my heinous hangover yesterday. Got a little bit of a two-day going on. Not quite back to normal, Keezy. But tomorrow, tomorrow I'm going to be feeling good. Tomorrow's going to be your third day. But I don't want you to think that the show's going to suffer today.

1:13Not at all. Oh, no.

1:14Keyzie:I didn't think that for a moment. Quite the opposite. How about you, Keezy?

1:17Mike Minogue:You looking good, brother? Thanks, fellas. Yeah, looking good, feeling good. God, excited for the long weekend ahead. Hey? It's not far away, is it? Short week. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Also, we're going to be covering Brekkie later on this week as well. Switching things around. Caps out of the bag. Yeah, totally. Is that a big secret?

1:34Keyzie:Caps out of the bag. We've got to have a bit of an admin chat on that front. Actually, just speaking of your Monday and, you know, you had a big weekend there, Moggy. Thanks, mate. I was watching a fella this morning at about 7.30. They're fixing up the playground by my place. And there was a dude there today that was so unimpressed with the world. Yeah. He would do a – and I'm not joking. It was windy. It was cold. He'd do about 30 seconds of work, and then he would lean on his rake for about five minutes and do nothing. Was he looking at his phone? He was looking at his phone, and then he'd get down on his knees to sort of staple stuff, and then sort of get back up really, sort of like it was a massive effort, lean on his rake again for five minutes, just over it already.

2:17Mike Minogue:How good. Highly relatable. Totally, man. Hey, what's going on from the show, Moggy?

2:25What's happening on the big show With Old Mogey Bear and Pie July continues fellas Listen for your cue to call And you could be in Well actually immediately You'll win$250 Your share of$20 ,000 That we're giving away With the pies that pay In July Later on we're going to be Talking to Brinley Stent And Kota Forest So they're going to come Into the studio fellas Yes Talking about the second season Of their show Brin and Koo's Singles Club And up next Old Keezy. Old nosy fella he is. He's got a few questions about the weekend. Yeah. What old hoity Jay and Mogi got up to.

3:00Mike Minogue:Well, all I know is that Mogi was very hungover and Jase won't tell me. Yeah. Wow, it was a big weekend.

3:05Keyzie:It was a big, special weekend. Speaking of which, here's the Chemical Brothers.

3:12Mike Minogue:How's that related? I don't know. It's not related at all. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

3:20Keyzie:Highly suspect there on the radio. Hodaki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time is exactly 12 minutes past 4 o 'clock.

3:27Mike Minogue:Fellas, I've got a bone to pick. I got a bone to pick. Now, this doesn't usually happen, which is why it's so weird. You're being very cagey. You haven't responded to any messages on the group chat. In fact, you guys have pretty much been zero dark for about three days straight now, and you won't answer my old pugs' messages either. Trying to figure out what the heck we're doing with the show today. No response, you know? Yeah. You know what's going on? What's with the sudden, like, blockade when it comes to communication?

3:56Keyzie:Can I just say, nothing I can speak for Mogi when I say this, what a weekend. Holy hecka. What a weekend. That doesn't answer anything. Wow. What were you doing? I mean, I've... Jeez, I've had some good weekends in my time, but this one, top two. Tell you what, I've been to some weddings in my day, but that one... So you went to a wedding? Huh?

4:20Mike Minogue:You went to a wedding over the weekend, is that? Well, look, I signed an NDMA, which means I can't really say, but yes, I did. You signed MDMA? No, I signed an NDA. Oh, right. I took MDMA, but I'm not allowed to say. Yeah. But yes, I did. So you went to a wedding. Right, okay.

4:34Keyzie:I also signed an MDMA and went to a wedding as well.

4:39Mike Minogue:Right, okay. So wouldn't the NDA say that you're not allowed to say that you're at a wedding? Isn't that how it works? That was part of it, but I'll be honest with you. I was so cross-eyed at that point, I couldn't see what it really pertained to. Yes. They said sign here, I signed it, I was in a good mood, and we went.

4:55Keyzie:Yeah, I mean, we were in wedding mode, weren't we? We were. And it's just like, dude's coming up to you, can you sign this? Oh, yeah, mate. No worries. Old Woody J signature there.

5:08Mike Minogue:So did you guys go to this wedding as a couple? Well, as a pair, I don't know, not a couple. Well, each other's plus one. Yes. Right, okay. So who was invited to the wedding? Oh, there's about a thousand of the nearest and dearest. No one like out of you two. Oh. A thousand people. Yeah, both of us. Yeah, well, it was at, it was, I think we can say, can we say where it was? Oh, absolutely. Madison Square Garden. Yes. Madison Square Garden.

5:31Keyzie:Which is actually one of my favourites. I've been there many times. Boy, it was decked out beautifully, wasn't it, Mogi? Yeah, New York. It sounds unromantic, but they did incredible things. Yes. With the seating and everything.

5:42Mike Minogue:Right, okay. So you were both invited to a wedding. Yes. No partners? No partners allowed. No partners allowed.

5:50Keyzie:Well, it was, you know, very tight on the security, and they were very, very specific about the guest list.

5:57Mike Minogue:Right, okay.

5:57Keyzie:So, yeah, no partners, unfortunately.

6:00Mike Minogue:Can I ask who it was, or is that part of the NDA? Oh, you can ask. Yeah, definitely you can ask. Because of the NDA, all I can say is Taylor Swift and that bloke. It's their winning. Right, so you were at Taylor Swift's winning? Yep.

6:14Keyzie:Can I just say, too, before you even ask, Yes, I did wear my boots.

6:20Mike Minogue:To be honest, I've got way more questions than whether or not you would. Seriously, you would also say unsolicited, which I don't think this is in the NDA, how hot? Yes. How hot?

6:30Keyzie:Well, I was actually wearing an entirely white suit for the occasion. Right, so you wanted to be the centre. Okay. So it didn't have to, you know, that's not part of the NDMA.

6:39Mike Minogue:Obviously, the company that makes your boots specialises in bridal footwear too. So was Taylor wearing the same boots?

6:42Keyzie:Oh, no, this was another company that made my suit.

6:47Mike Minogue:Yeah, okay, cool, cool. No, seriously, though, you guys didn't go.

6:49Keyzie:But they actually do make, normally they make bridal gowns. No, I don't care about whether or not they make bridal gowns.

6:57Mike Minogue:So, okay, so, yeah, right, so you're at Taylor Swift's wedding, right? Yeah. You should have come. Why didn't you come? Well, I wasn't invited. I don't know Taylor Swift.

7:03Keyzie:Well, no, because he was prioritising because he wanted to go house hunting. Oh, that's right. And remember, we went, oh, okay, well, that's fair enough. It's best if we don't even pass it on. Yeah, fair enough. The invite came here to reception, Gizzy. Yes. What, they wanted the big show to go? The big show. And Alphabetical Order as well. Wow, so I was first. No, you were second. Oh, how's that? Hoyt, Key, Minogue. Oh, I was going front nose. Front names. Front nose. I was going front nose. But a good time was Head Boy All Keys. I mean, the only question I've got really is, do I think it will last?

7:34And I don't think this was in the NDA either. No, I don't. Right. Yeah. She's a shocking bastard.

7:41Keyzie:And can I just say, lovely couple. Oh. But I'm with Mogey. I'll give it and I don't think this is part of the MDMA either it's six months wow yeah I mean how long's it been because we went we went to the his stag his stag yeah yeah yeah what's his name again Jase Travis Kelsey no Jase I was asking Jase sorry oh I didn't hear you what

8:05Mike Minogue:what's his name

8:06Keyzie:Travis Kelsey yeah cool good work man

8:10Mike Minogue:The Horaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

8:17Keyzie:News there on the Radio Hauraki. Big show this very wet and moist Monday afternoon. The time is 25 past 4 o 'clock.

8:26Mike Minogue:Good stuff. Fellas, you revealed that over the weekend you're at Taylor Swift's wedding.

8:35Mike Minogue:That's enough of that. I hate that song. I can't confirm or deny. You're right. Well, you said it earlier. Because I've signed an NDA. Yeah, right. Okay. Once you sign an MMA. Is it like legal action? Yeah. Big time. Big time. I understand that you can't take. Boom. Legal action. Mr. Hoyt summons. Boom. I understand that you can't. There he is. Hello. I understand that you can't share all the details of the wedding. Oh, no, it's all good. Oh, you can. What was for dinner? What did you eat for dinner there? Kebabs.

9:16Is it Taylor Swift? You know those kebabs that you get? And I'm not sure that these are strictly Turkish, Jase.

9:22Keyzie:Yeah. Because they had hot chips in them with gravy, beef gravy.

9:28Mike Minogue:Like a souvlaki. Huh? Like a souvlaki. A kebab, I said. Well, no, Jase said that.

9:33Keyzie:I mean, I don't know that you know this about Taz and... Jazz. And Jazz. They're pretty... Why does Kelsey go by jazz? Because Taz has already taken. They're pretty down to earth people, Kesey. They're pretty, you know, they're very.

9:50Mike Minogue:The biggest pop star in the world down to earth. Very much so. And so she served kebabs. Yes.

9:55Keyzie:Well, she didn't. She's tight fisted. Yeah. Oh, she hates parting with a penny. Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift, a shocking bastard. Right, okay.

10:03Mike Minogue:The jazz, he's a generous bastard. Who, Travis? Yes. Do they have a first dance? What do they dance to? Pantera. What's that one? Walk. Really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Walk by Pantera. Yeah, she's always been a massive fan of Dimebag Darryl, one of the great Gat players in the world. So, yeah, a little bit of Dimebag, a little bit of Pantera. They played it live. Dimebag, of course, didn't play because he's passed away, sadly. Oh, is he? Yeah, that was unreal. Wow, okay.

10:35Keyzie:But as you can imagine, because it's Taz, there was a bloody veritable who's who of... Who are you sitting with? Yes, yes. This was awesome because she did it by name, and, you know, so she put everyone... So she did it alphabetically. So I had in my table table J, Jim Morrison, and... From the door. Jimi Hendrix and Jack Nicholson. Jack Nicholson's not looking very good, mate. No, he's looking a bit rough, to be honest.

11:07Mike Minogue:Right, okay. Because I saw that Steven Spielberg was there. Did you see him?

11:12Keyzie:Who? No.

11:15Mike Minogue:Spielberg, probably one of the most well-known directors that's ever existed. Does films? Do you guys like films? No. Not really. Have you heard of Jaws? Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, did he do that one, did he? Yeah, he did that one. No, Jaws wasn't there. No, not the character Jaws from James Bond. I mean, like... When did you guys get back? Just now

11:39Keyzie:Yeah about What's the time now? 4.28 About We got into the airport About Caught to four But it's like a half an hour drive From there to here Private jet And then helicoptered That was all part of it Say what you like about Taz She's not frugal Well hang on

12:35Mike Minogue:Yeah, not too bad. I can't complain, can't complain. No one listens if you do anyway. Yeah, that's true, mate. That's true, man.

12:40Keyzie:Tell me, Gab, what do you do for a crust? I'm a hammer hand, mate. Yep, hammer hand. Oh, yeah, back bone. Back bone. Back bone. Tell me, Gab. Gab. Do you like a pie? And if so, what do you run with?

12:54Mike Minogue:Oh, I like a good steak and cheese. Yeah, I like that. Steak and cheese in one hand, hammer in the other hand. Gab, sound about right? Oh, a couple of handles, mate. Yeah, that's... How many hands have you got, Kev, you bad bastard? Oh, that depends who I'm with. Hey, hey. He's a handsy bastard, eh?

13:23Mike Minogue:Oh, you guys are legends, man. I love you guys. If I was a chick, I would let you guys do naughty things to me. Oh, thanks, mate. We can still do it. I reckon you do it anyway. You're sick, man. You love it, mate. You're a mad dog. Hold the line there, Gav, before you say anything. What a legend. Legend of a bloke. And he's 250 bucks rich. That's a builder, right? Yeah, I'm assuming so. Yeah. Well, it's not a builder. It's someone that's not qualified but knows how to swing one. Yeah, yeah, totes. I'll tell you what. Old Gav knows how to swing one, man. That's for sure.

13:58Keyzie:They're the sort of dudes. And they're all dudes, James? No, all women. 100 % of them. Or woman. That probably consider themselves the backbone of any sort of building site. You know, you've got your fancy pants builders who are qualified. I have seen builders. But you've got the hammer hands. Yeah. And you're like, yeah, mate, just let me handle this, all right? They're all gear, no responsibility, Kesey.

14:19Mike Minogue:Because I saw a builder the other day, he had fancy pants on. Oh, yeah, they do have fancy pants. Was that a fancy pants qualified? Oh, builders do have fancy pants. Whereas you've got Gav, who's a backbone. Yeah. He's got sort of ripped up shorts with half his piece hanging out the side. Yeah, yeah.

14:32Keyzie:Yeah. Yeah. nettings barely holding on in the shorts. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, back bone.

14:38Mike Minogue:Yeah. You'd like them, Geezy. Yeah. Yeah, totally. Oh, yeah. Hey, Dad's Pies proudly bakes award-winning pies for pie-loving New Zealanders. Just thought I'd drop that in. I've got a question for you, Geezy. Oh, yeah? What's your favourite pie, man? I don't think we've been there. Thank you, Mike. My favourite pie is butter chicken. Oh! But to be a butter chicken or a steak and mushroom situation.

15:03Keyzie:Wow. Do you know what just occurred to me? I wonder if they have a pork mince pie.

15:09Mike Minogue:I don't think so.

15:10Keyzie:I've never seen a pork mince pie.

15:12Mike Minogue:Well, it wouldn't just be pork mince. You'd have to have it. What's the flavouring? What is the flavouring, Jase?

15:17Keyzie:Wake up, Jase. Pork mince has its own flavour. Well, I know. You've got the beef mince. There's a pork mince with a bit of gravy, but what kind of a gravy do you traditionally have with a pork mince? No gravy. If I was running a pork mince, I'd have a chicken gravy. What about a pork gravy? A pig gravy? That'd be a bit weird

15:35Mike Minogue:Right but a pig with chicken gravy isn't weird No See I would like Pork minces use quite often a lot of like Vietnamese And Southeast Asian dishes Yes Some lemongrassi or like some sort of curry Or chicken gravy Up to you But hey keep listening for your chance to win 250 bucks Cash happens all throughout the day on Radio Hauraki Beautiful During the month of July A.k.a. Bear and Pie July Here's Foo Fighters The Hauraki Big Show weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki

16:03Keyzie:Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon the time is 4.49 let's talk TV What's on the telly with Mike Minogue

16:20Yeah Fellas I watched another in the series of the Trainwreck documentaries available to you on Netflix This one's called Trainwreck P.I. Moms. Personal and private investigator? There you go. And it's about a TV show that got made back in the day, and then it all goes off the rails. The most tedious garbage you've ever seen. They're normally really entertaining. I mean, they're all terrible, but this one didn't have anything interesting going on. I turned off after about 35 minutes of a 45-minute doco, and I give it zero buzzies out of a possible five. Can't recommend. Can't recommend.

16:57Keyzie:Yeah. There you go. Well, for me, over the weekend, because we had the wedding, of course, didn't actually get to watch a lot. I did watch a rerun of Game of Two Halves on the plane. It's not on the plane. Where did you watch it on the plane? I downloaded it on my new phone, Keezy. From what?

17:17Mike Minogue:You can't download it? Yes, you can, you dare brain. Right, okay. Okay.

17:22Keyzie:Carry on. But then today I had a free hour and I turned on the old Samsung TV there. Oh, yeah. And I watched that classic, classic, brilliant movie, The Dead Poets Society. Never seen it. Have you really not? No. Why are you shocked? Yeah, true. With the great Robin Williams, one of the great films. Ethan Hawke. Ethan Hawke. A young, very young Ethan Hawke. I can't remember when it was made. 92, I reckon. Just a brilliant, brilliant movie. You and your wife would love it, Keezy. My wife does love that film, yeah. It is an amazing film, amazing performances, and some scenes where you're just like, oh, oh.

18:06Keyzie:In fact, I recorded some and sent it on the chat today, fellas. Yeah. One of the great scenes, my captain, my captain. Oh, captain, my captain. Oh, captain, my captain, yes. Getting up on the desk there. Yeah. And defiance, Keezy. And it's really a story about. Marcus-like scene, isn't it? Yeah, an inspirational teacher who changes things for the kids. It was kind of like what Jase was when he started out and did that teaching for two weeks. And they said to him, why do you wear such weird pants? And he said, oh, yeah, true. They were weird pants, to be fair. Paisley? No, they were cream.

18:41Mike Minogue:Oh, with your boots? With like a wool weave. That's so cool. Over the weekend there, we were watching. How many bizzies? How many bizzies out of five? Look, you've got to give it 4.5 buzies.

18:52Keyzie:Wow. It's a great film. It is a classic.

18:54Mike Minogue:I've heard a lot about it. Over the weekend, my wife and I were like, should we just sell up everything and just go overseas for a year? Travelling nonstop. I hear you. You know, don't get a job and then just come back and start again. Yeah. I hear you. And so we started watching YouTube videos of people that had done it and basically all of them were like, yeah, it's pretty, you run out of money pretty quick. Yeah, no cash. And then we came back and we had to start again. It sucked. Yeah. Then I was overseas and my dad died while I was there. That was really tough. We were just watching and we were like, ah, maybe next year.

19:27Keyzie:Well, it's funny because I told you fellas a little while back that on my YouTube now I'm getting inundated with retiring early videos.

19:35Mike Minogue:Yeah, right.

19:35Keyzie:You know, people are just going, oh, look, you know, I'm 53. What am I doing? But you're 39 though. You're miles away. I know, but what am I doing with my life? I'm just going to quit. But they must have money though, right? Often they don't. They don't have a lot of money. Right, okay. And I've got to be honest with you, 80 % of the ones that I watch, they're stoked. They're having a great old time.

19:57Mike Minogue:But that's what you see on YouTube, Jay. Yeah, well, that's true. They only put the happy parts on YouTube and on Instagram and TikTok. You're getting served up heaps of videos for Viagra as well, eh?

20:06Keyzie:Yeah. Really? Which, you know, wasting the time with old hoity Jay because you don't really use it. Well, I don't need to, Keezy. No, I meant you're downstairs. Yeah, my downstairs doesn't need it. No, I'm saying you don't use it. You don't use it. Don't even worry about it. Here's the darkness.

20:28Mike Minogue:The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaki.

20:34Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're surviving your Monday. You're listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburger.

20:41Mike Minogue:Serving good times and good food. Dine in or take away Reburger today. Reburger.

20:48Keyzie:Now, Feltless.

20:50Mike Minogue:Oh. That's all right. You go.

20:53Keyzie:Reburger this weekend for...

20:54Mike Minogue:Yummy.

20:56Keyzie:For Hoody J.

20:58Mike Minogue:Yummy. Damn it. Too slow. Ah. You did have Reburger. You sent a photo of you eating it. Yes. Well, I was just outside the joint.

21:05Keyzie:But if you don't believe me, I'm happy to ring my wife. Legit. Legit Reburger. Legit Reburger. Do you know last night? What's it called? Regent Red or something I got? I don't know. I don't know what's in there, man. And fries. Of course the fries. Because they're outstanding. Which is making me doubt your story even more. Yeah, that's it.

21:23Mike Minogue:So good. Can I just say, the fact that you even have, we're at the point where you have to call your wife to verify that you ate the sponsor's product is like, you know, it's disgusting.

21:32Keyzie:I believe myself. It's just you guys that are casting aspersions on old hoity J. You know, last night for dinner I had a Reburger. Really? Yep. Was it yum? It was yum, but it was just the right amount. Unfortunately, my daughter doesn't. She's vegetarian, so there's nothing on their menu. So all she could have was chips. Yeah, but still. But pretty good chips, aren't they? Bloody good.

21:55Mike Minogue:Saturday night, guess what I had? Re-burger. Re-burger. Did you actually? Yeah, I had re-burger. Oh, well. My wife and I. Look at that. Went to the Henderson one there. She loves a cheeseburger. That's all we got as well. Just enough. Thanks very much. You beauty. I got a Regent Red. No, actually, I didn't. I got one with pineapple in it. Did you? Delicious. I love pineapple and chicken in a burger, man. It's delicious. Oh, chicken. Yeah, bacon.

22:19Keyzie:So you'd go a Hawaiian burger, happily? Sure. Yeah. Why are you asking me that? Hawaiian burger's renowned for having a bit of pineapple, isn't it? Yes. However, that's a beef burger. Yeah, it is. It is usually a beef burger.

22:31Mike Minogue:Oh, look, guys, to be honest, man, gun to my head, yeah, sure. It's not my go-to. But literally I'd have to put a gun to your head. Yeah, you'd have to put a revolver to my head. Okay.

22:41Keyzie:So, yeah, bloody good. If you've never tried Ree Burger, give it a nudge. It is genuinely fantastic. It's yummy. Hey, now coming up very shortly indeed, it was a massive weekend of sport, so we're going to have a bit of sport chat. In the meantime, here's some Pearl Jam for you.

22:57Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

23:03Keyzie:The Killers there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time is 16 minutes past five o 'clock. Let's talk rugby, fellas.

23:13Mike Minogue:Crouch, touch, pause, engage. Rugby Union Chat with Hoidi J.

23:24Keyzie:And what a match, fellas. The first of the season for the new look All Blacks under Dave Rennie. An absolutely spanking game of rugby. I loved it. France came to the party as well. Either side, I would have been like, okay, either side winning. Same here. They both deserve to win, but the All Blacks squeaking ahead by two Mogey. Yeah, that's right. It was a hell of a game, wasn't it? What I enjoyed about it mostly was, you know, it's their first hit out, but you just want to see the kind of direction they're going to go. And the thing that was a little bit frustrating over the last couple of years was in particular the really crabbing offence where people would just be running straight across the park.

24:10No straight lines. Nobody seems to know what they were doing, and it was massively frustrating because you know you got the team, but they just seemed lost. So that seems to be gone. But yeah, I really enjoyed the game. Great stadium, great crowd, great. French were great, especially considering France's best team was playing in the European final or the equivalent of that over there. So France didn't have access to their very best players.

24:32Mike Minogue:Isn't that interesting? That's what's great about this is that it was taking on France first all-black game at Takaha Stadium in Christchurch, which was awesome, first day of any game. but the fact that a game like this where traditionally you go, the All Blacks should spank them, it's just the French B team. But we looked good, but France still. Yeah, they look great. It's just going to be such an exciting few years of footy. Oh, it is brilliant.

24:53Keyzie:They had a few of their frontline players, but yeah. What I was really struck by, there were a couple of tries that the French scored and you could see genuine in the All Black side, they were completely baffled. Right. They were just like, what just happened there? Some brilliant play. and the French just refused to die in that game. You know, I kept thinking, OK, now we'll start to pull away from them. Yeah, traditionally we do. But not this time. They just kept hanging in there and they were bloody unlucky not to win in the end. But great performance from the All Blacks as well. No, exactly right.

25:25Next week we've got Italy. All of this, of course, is part of the Nations Championship, which I'd never heard of before in my life until the game started. So that's where the six teams from the Northern Hemisphere, six teams from the Southern Hemisphere. We all sort of play each other. Points are allocated at the end of two years. somebody has announced the world champion. That's great. So New Zealand beat France 34-32. Japan beat Italy. This is over the weekend. 27-10. Ireland, in an absolute ripper of a game against Australia, won 33-31. Wales beat Fiji 39-24. South Africa smashed England 45-21.

25:59And Scotland smoked. Well, not smoked, but they beat Argentina in Argentina.

26:04Keyzie:Yeah, jeez, that's no mean feat, by the way. Ireland's a very good side. I'm a little bit worried about the Aussies this year I think they're going to go good guns but like you I didn't know about this competition, what's it called? Nations Cup I didn't realise that Essentially what you're doing is the same thing that they did with the World TES Championship and I think it's great because you get all these games and they don't mean anything So at the start of the season you get these friendlies where we host, and in this case it would have been France we'd play a couple of games or whatever then at the end of the year we go on a tour up to the Northern Hemisphere and it doesn't mean anything They're just sort of test matches for the sake of test matches.

26:41These now will count towards a bigger competition. Which is great.

26:44Keyzie:Very, very exciting times. I like Ruben Love at first five too, even though he had a shocking start.

26:50Mike Minogue:That's literally what I was about to say. As my wife and I sat down, I was explaining a few of the changes and what made this quite interesting. I was like, oh, and they've started with Ruben Love, Bodhi Barrett's not even in the side, and then he hit that high shot and was sent to the bin. Yeah. It was brilliant. And then I was talking about Artie at number eight and a few other things and Jacobson being in the side, and then he made all these errors. It was just drama, but the tries that we did score were through magnificence in high-skill plays. I love seeing that back.

27:15Keyzie:I'll tell you what, in terms of Jacobson, the open side there, I wasn't a big fan of his pre-match. I said, I'm not sure about his selection. He had a doozy of a game. Can I say I loved the almost complete lack of kicking. Yes.

27:30Mike Minogue:It was great. They pretend to kick. At one stage, Roy Gard had his foot out to do a box kick, the halfback, and then passed it instead. I was like, yes! That's good shit, man.

27:38Keyzie:And just on that note, how good is Roy Gard? Yeah, he's the man. Best in the world, I reckon. Best halfback in the world. Here's Gorillaz.

27:44Mike Minogue:Hey, number one. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

27:50Keyzie:Yes, indeed. Bush there on the Radio Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show this Monday evening. The time is 5.29. And, fellas, something's been bugging me.

28:00Mike Minogue:It's been bugging me.

28:06Keyzie:You'll recall on Friday, fellas, we were having a little discussion about my boots. Ha, yeah. Are you wearing them today, man? No, I wore them yesterday. I know you love wearing them on the weekend. I'm just concerned that they've dropped out of rotation during the week. See, this is why. We discussed it. It's funny, they're sort of turning into a weekend shoe.

28:25Mike Minogue:Yeah, I'm not surprised. Because you talk about when I brought the list and it was like, Monday, did not wear boots. Tuesday, no. Wednesday, no. Thursday, no. Friday, no. Can you add for today? Yep, Monday. Monday? No. No. Okay.

28:37Keyzie:Can you also add on the Saturday and Sunday yes and yes? I don't do weekends, sorry, man. We can't believe what you say you did on the weekend, Jase. Now, this is what is bugging me. What? Because we had this discussion on Friday, and then Kesey went, No! No! No! You haven't warned them since.

28:54Mike Minogue:I didn't say it like that.

28:55Keyzie:And then he pulled out a list, and I saw on his phone there, he had this very elaborate list of everything I'd worn on those days. Yeah.

29:06Mike Minogue:Because I was tracking this rotation of boots you were talking about.

29:09Keyzie:And I suddenly thought to myself over the weekend, how many lists does Keezy have of 40J? I've only got five. Has he got like secret folders going on of 40J? I mean, what are you running here, Keezy? Have you got like secret pics of me as well?

29:22Mike Minogue:No, I've got no photos of you, man. Sorry, no, I've got seven. There you go, seven. They're all pretty chill, just everyday business. So I've got Hot Pot last week. Monday, no. Tuesday, no. Wednesday, yes. Thursday, no. Friday, no. Oh, no. Friday, yes. Because Pugsan had Hot Pot. He did, yeah. Yeah, but I thought Jase was having Hot Pot at the same time. Do you have Hot Pot on the Friday?

29:44Keyzie:My concern here is that you are writing lists of what I'm doing with my life.

29:48Mike Minogue:I've also got one for when he wears the weird hoodie. This black one he's wearing, I find it quite weird. Last week it was every day, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. That same hoodie. Inaccurate. Vape breaks last week on Monday here at 4. Tuesday 7. They're absolutely out of control at the moment. Wednesday 6. I'm glad you're keeping a list about this. Yeah, Thursday 5. Vape breaks Friday 7. Chips stolen Monday, yes. Tuesday, no. Right. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, yes, yes, yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, Keezy. I haven't stolen chips for... Mate, I'm just tracking the stuff you're doing.

30:20Mike Minogue:Two weeks. This one here. Sexually suggestive comments made to Hauraki staff. Oh, yeah. Monday 3. Tuesday zero Yeah Good day That was good for you Wednesday one Oh But then Thursday Friday five six He ramps it up Towards the weekend After that You've got That's accurate After that Wearing a hat Monday yes Yeah Tuesday no Wednesday no Thursday no Friday no Well done Yeah thank you fellas And Monday Monday no Oh Monday for this week You like that list Yeah yeah yeah So you like that list

30:50Keyzie:I'm just a little bit Worry Keezy That you're getting A bit obsessed with me Well, no, it's just. Because, you know, I'm getting real kind of stalker vibes. Right. You know, the next thing I know, you'll be peering in through my apartment curtains, you know, taking little snapshots of Hoity J and his casual wear. I'd say, Jase, you don't actually have curtains. You know, next thing I know, I'm going to go down to the laundry there in the apartment and my knickers are going to be missing. You come home and there'll be a bunny boiling on your stove. There'll be a bunny boiling on my stove. Is that a reference?

31:25Keyzie:And it was funny because when we did the big night out with the fellas, my wife said to me afterwards, she said, Jesus, do you see the way Keezy looks at you? And I was like, no. And she said, well, it's kind of freaking me out a little bit. He was just staring at you. And I'm just a little bit, you know, boiled bunny is probably what I'm talking about here, Mogi. I'm just writing a few.

31:50Mike Minogue:I'm going to wake up one morning

31:52Keyzie:and there's going to be Keezy at the end of my bed you know with his sharpening a knife sharpening a knife yeah

31:57Mike Minogue:why would I be sharpening it no I'm just writing lists about what you're doing it's totally normal well stop it okay The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki

32:10Keyzie:the red hot chilli peppers there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon we've got some very special guests in the studio with us. Let me get this right. Brinley Stent. Correct. The second season of their hit show. Brin and Coos Singles Club. Singles Club, yes. I was going to do that, Keezy. I just felt like you weren't. I was totally going to do it. How are you, your backbones? Really good. Thanks for having us. It's an absolute pleasure.

32:42Mike Minogue:Now, the first season of Brin and Coos Singles Club, it was an interesting punt because it wasn't on TVNZ, it wasn't on 3, it wasn't on Sky Neon, It was on YouTube in collab with the spin-off. Obviously, that was a bit of an experiment, and it paid off season two. People loved it, and anyone could watch YouTube. Exactly, right? Which was popular. Except for Jace's wife, who doesn't even know that it's on there and doesn't believe that it's on there.

33:07Keyzie:She didn't believe me. They ate lunch today, could she? She didn't believe me. I said, it's on YouTube, and she said, it's not on YouTube. They got into a horror of a fight about it. Just on YouTube, there's great stuff on there, isn't there? I'm a big fan of mukbang I just like watching people eat Massive, vast quantities of food Hell yeah Which is weird Because I don't actually generally like In real life watching people eat But I'll watch it on a video What's that about guys? Do you guys know about that? Nah, never heard about it Mukbang? Mukbang Yeah, mukbang Yeah, you eat like huge amounts of food There's a lot of There's pretty Yeah, it's interesting And there was a guy who got like Real toxic with it I don't know Yes, I know the guy you're talking about He's a very famous YouTuber.

33:49Mike Minogue:So it's actually really bad, Jase. Oh, is it so shocking? No, it's not inherently bad. Yeah. Because this show was made with support. It's just kind of racist. You're all good. Well, we've got a segment on the show called What's on the TV with me, Mike Minogue, where we all talk about what we've watched on TV. Nice. And the first season of your show made it onto that esteemed segment of the big show. and I think we gave it four and a half buzzies out of a possible five buzzies. Wow! That first season was absolutely magnificent. You guys travelling around, being yourself, being obviously great mates, really fun, but then also super honest conversations.

34:29I effing loved it. Thanks. Everybody I introduced it to effing loved it. So is this one as good as that or is it not good? Wow. Everyone was like, you're both in relationships now. Spoiler alert. Spoiler alert.

34:43Keyzie:I think for people that actually haven't seen the show, we should establish the idea behind it was you guys trying to find love, I suppose. Yeah. We're travelling around the country in a crew van trying to do dating. Yeah, yeah. That was the original pitch. Not so much anymore. Right. We're just complaining about our hearts and partners. There's some pretty awkward production meetings where we had to fess up to our producer and director that we were both in love. And so we had to figure out what season two looks like, But then we figured actually the reason people love season one so much is because it is just me and Bryn being crack up on the road.

35:18So we were like, we can still do that. And I would argue that, you know, just because you're not single anymore doesn't mean you don't still have some problems.

35:26Mike Minogue:That's sure. Is it still called Singles Club though? Yeah. You need to have that connection, don't you? And we've got the hats printed and everything. I feel like Taken Club doesn't have the same. But it could actually be you guys on the road going around just cheating. Yeah, I was going to say, who says you have to have one lover? Adulterous Club. I mean, you guys need to watch season two to find out if that's the case or not. And obviously you guys are now in love. Is that as a result of season one or is that just completely separate? Because you met some absolute weapons on the road. Yeah, we did.

35:57Mike Minogue:We really did. We did. And I wish them all well. I don't know if you remember the end of season one. I was pretty depressed. I was pretty depressed. I was like, wah. You were. And so I really managed to just let it go. I was like, you know what? I'm going to delete the apps for a little while and I'm going to relax. I'm going to stop identifying as single so much. And then I did sort of chill out, and then I put the apps back on and met my fella. Boom. There you go.

36:19Keyzie:Do you know, weirdly, and I'm a big advocate of this, I honestly believe that when you stop looking, you'll find. Kia ora. I genuinely do. It's like, you know, I've got four daughters, and, you know, they're talking about boys and stuff, and it's like, just stop looking. Don't worry about it. He or she or she will come along. It's hard to hear that when you're single. It's hard to hear that. True. Listen, we'll go to another tune and we'll get deep and meaningful next, shall we? Can't we? Absolutely. The Hives? Yeah, I think so.

36:54Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

36:59Keyzie:The Hives there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday evening. And we've got the stars of the show, Brennan Koo Singles Club, season two. And it's interesting, isn't it? because the premise of the first show, obviously, you were single, you were looking for love. The second season, though, has got a bit of a twist to it because you're in love now. Yeah, sorry to all the single people. Yeah. Yep, taken.

37:25Mike Minogue:Genuinely, how do you do it then? What's the idea? Because I feel ripped off. I watch this and you guys are in a relationship. I'm going to be fuming. Yeah, same. Well, you're going to be fuming. You're going to be fuming. Both the partners don't really make much of an appearance on the show. We talk about them a bit, but mostly. Is it intentional? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why is that? I mean, we didn't want to have to pay them double wage. Yeah, totally. Totally. You were saying off here too that it's because there's not much to look at with those guys? We didn't say that. We didn't say that.

37:53Keyzie:I was shocked by that actually. That was shocking stuff. Koda, you've actually turned your love life, and I imagine both of you probably have, but I remember seeing you, Koda, at opening for Nikki Glaser, and you were talking about some of your Tinder adventures. Yeah, she's had a few. And very brave of you to put that kind of personal embarrassment and disgrace out there for my personal enjoyment. But I loved it. When it came to your new man, was it a long line of frogs to get to this one? Yeah. Or is he a frog and you're just like, bugger, I'll make do? No, he's a total prince. And I tell you what, the bit you're referring to is, I used to do a bit in my stand-up where I sort of talked about how I keep dating the guy that lives at the back of the main house.

38:34I feel a lot of women nodding along with me right now. Totally. The guy that lives at the back of the main house, he only tells you once you've already in the Uber to not knock on the front door, but to go past the wheelie bins down the back, keep coming down, and there's a security light snaps on. Yes. And you're sort of hoping maybe he's just on the back porch. Yes. To canting a pinot noir after a hard day at the office. But no, no, you realise he lives in the garage. And he never leaves the garage. Exactly. He's been there for 10 years. Strong smell of marijuana. I was going to say,

39:04Keyzie:You walk in there and there's like 10 massive bongs sort of sitting around. Yeah, there's 10 bongs. There's those bear crates made into a bookshelf. Yeah, classy. There's one of those faux mink blankets, you know, the ones you get when he first, yeah, with a tiger on it.

39:18Mike Minogue:I feel like, Jase, you were picturing you living like this and loving it.

39:21Keyzie:No, I mean, what you were describing for me was West Auckland.

39:25Mike Minogue:Yeah.

39:26Keyzie:You know, I'm a Westie, so that sounds very familiar to me. But when I met my guy now, he said, just come straight to the front door. Oh, yeah. And that's when she knew. In the front door and then he was living in the basement. Was it the front door of a caravan? It's still the front door, mate. Just the front door, exactly.

39:47Mike Minogue:Exactly. So how is this show being released? Because with the last one, you guys were very progressive and modern with the way you did it. Obviously, YouTube, spin-off, website. And you were saying full episodes on Instagram. Yeah. Is it the same again this time? Yeah. Although this time we're dropping all six episodes on YouTube all at once Right okay So we can binge it So you can binge it But on the socials they'll come out weekly Just to tease people Was that recommended by them? Like hey nowadays people like it if you just drop them all at once Is that Last season we got that Lots of people commenting just being like I just want to watch it all now Because they're only 15 minutes Yeah exactly It's just a bit short but bite sized

40:23Keyzie:Can I ask if it's not too personal a question This is going to be personal No no Depends Do your partners Have they seen the first series Of your show Yes The first series Yes They haven't seen the second series yet Right okay They don't get special treatment What did they think of the first season They liked it My partner wears We've got merch The caps And he wears that a lot Which is cool Oh yeah Yeah it represents It's cool Advertising Yeah

40:52Mike Minogue:So he liked the hat Yeah It's the only reason He's like the hat What did you think of the show Yeah the hat's great Yeah, I love the hat.

41:01Keyzie:Check it out. It's like going to a theatre show and going. The lighting was amazing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Really, really good. And it's got even better for you, Kura, hasn't it, in many respects? Because I'm looking out into Studio B and I'm seeing this beautiful little baby out there. Gorgeous. Thank you. And I'm not just saying that. Because you were, you know, freaking out that maybe she, you know, but she's gorgeous. So it's been like a massive transformation for you from there to there. Yeah, in one year, basically. Yes. Yeah. And I do think there's pretty something magical about Singles Club and doing season one where you just get to talk about your hopes and dreams out loud to your mate on the telly.

41:41And I think something really worked for me. So, yeah, I've sort of just, like, nailed it.

41:47Mike Minogue:All right, so you've crushed it. Basically, yeah, I've crushed it. So you're only doing season two for Brynn then? Like, you don't even want to do it. Well, no, it was really fun. But we talked a lot about, like, because I was pregnant during the thing. so you sort of get to see me worry about that. Yeah. And then now that you've got Barb, because obviously it's something that you're hoping and dreaming for and then you get it and the reality sort of bites a little bit. How's your sleep? Broken, I would say, in a word. Not too bad, but just like it's a whole new world, isn't it? It is. I reckon three-hour stints.

42:23I feel pretty amazing if I get three hours in a row.

42:25Keyzie:I'm like, wow, that's what you need. Yeah, man, that's hate. I've found, you know, child-rearing discipline. So, you know, it's like bed at 7 p.m. That's late. And then, yeah, it's late, and then I'm not up till 8 the next morning. All right? Deal with it.

42:47Mike Minogue:And you say that to an infant.

42:48Keyzie:You say that to the baby, and the baby just sleeps through. And Jase goes to bed, and then his wife gets up all night. And Jace is like Yeah that's how it should be Hey guys Thank you so much For coming on And all the best For the second series And again People can find that On YouTube And the spin off Yes the spin off Websites And Instagram That's right

43:12Mike Minogue:And it releases tomorrow 12pm Tomorrow 12pm And in the meantime If you haven't seen Bryn and Koo's Singles Club season 1 It's all available on YouTube Go watch that first It's 6 15 minute episodes You get through it An hour and a half It is brilliant Very very good Thanks mate Thanks guys Love you guys Do you guys like David Bowie? Love

43:35Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show With Jace, Mike and Keezy Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki

43:41Keyzie:Welcome back you massive backbones Hope you're having a relaxing Monday evening You're listening to The Big Show Brought to you by Reburgeer

43:48Mike Minogue:Beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options too Reburgeer are redefining the norm Reburgeer Reburgeer

43:55Keyzie:We better. Yeah, nice. What's our dinner tonight, fellas? Interesting question, jizz. Today I made a beautiful lamb roast with roast kumara, which I hate, roast carrot and roast spuds. So I'll be hooking into that when I get home there. Yeah, nice. Nice. A bit of mint sauce. Well, I'll tell you what. The sauce is an interesting one, Jase. I've gone with a few leaves of your mint, yes. mixed it in with some marmalade and a little bit of white wine vinegar. Oh, wow. How did you think of that? I don't know, man. It's just sort of you're standing there in the kitchen, you go, what can I do to spice this up a little bit?

44:35Sure, sure. And I'm not a big fan of mince. Also, I've made it. The wife can have it if she wants. But other than that, I'll just get tipped down the sink in about a week.

44:42Keyzie:I'm a big fan of the old marmalade glaze on your hams and things like that. I'd give it to you. I'd give it to you, all right. I don't give it to you on your ham, but that's probably, or honey actually. I don't mind a honey, obviously, on a ham. Yes, yes. But as we've discussed, I hate meat mixed with fruit. True. I think it is a travesty. And Kesey, you've been letting me down of late, you on the team with your meals. What team? I always look forward to what Kesey's going to have, but there's been a lot of split chickens. Oh, yeah.

45:15Mike Minogue:They're like butterfly chickens. Stop saying split chickens. Split chickens. You absolutely, yeah. You're splitting them. Yeah, I know. It's a butterfly chicken. I actually, my wife said, do you want a butterfly chicken this week? And I said yes. And then she went, actually, no, I've got another idea. Yeah, that was close. So you nearly, she just wanted to see what you wanted so that she could determine what she would actually do, which is the opposite of what you want. Which is what we did. We got my food bag and last night we had lamb with kumara spud carrot and a marmalade mint sauce. Wow. I thought you had Reburger.

45:42Mike Minogue:That was on Saturday night.

45:43Keyzie:That sounds foul.

45:45Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, yeah. To be honest, lamb, not very good. Tell you what I like with marmalade. Third time in a row. The trick with it is, man, it's all about how you prepare. No, no, it was prepared beautifully. Third time in a row. I'm no longer ordering lamb from that particular company. You know what you need to do is what I do, Kesey, and that's go down to my local butchers. Support local, brother. We do support local.

46:05Keyzie:Yeah, totally. I like to go to all my local vegetable shops. You just go to the hot pot store.

46:12Mike Minogue:It's all you do.

46:13Keyzie:And to my butcher, and I get specific cuts of meat. Oh, yeah, I'm very careful. Jerry down there at the local butchery, he's bloody great. Jerry? Yeah, yeah. But I'm having ramen tonight. Ramen. Dude, there's so many other different types of food out there. You've got to get away from this cuisine, brother. But my wife is making this with a chicken breast and a beautiful sort of gingery soup. It's great stuff. An egg floating in there as well with the noodles.

46:43Mike Minogue:I reckon it's good because for decades, all we've eaten is Western food in New Zealand. Yes. Pretty boring stuff. What are you talking about? And now there's all these great things. Well, Jase, what are you going to have? Since you've been alive, Kesey, there's been every kind of cuisine in the wood. The problem is you grow up on an avocado plantation. There's a small lifestyle block. Yeah, yeah. And so in Tauranga, going out for dinner was like, oh, we're going to go to the Lone Star. Sure. And get what we have at home, but bigger.

47:05Keyzie:I'm just prepping myself for Vietnam. Are you going to Vietnam? Yeah, man. Are you? When's this? I'm going to live there. This is news to me. I'm living there, man. Oh, are you? You know what's famous in Vietnam?

47:16Mike Minogue:Ramen. Yeah, they love their ramen over there. That's racist, Jase.

47:19Keyzie:More of your sort of Asiatic sort of foods that I'm talking about. Here's the offspring!

47:24Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

47:30Keyzie:Alison Chains here on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday evening. The time, fellas, exactly 15 minutes past six o 'clock. Fellas, a special time in my house over the weekend. And over the last sort of week or so, we've been reading the book Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Ah, yes. Classic. To my daughter, Moggy Minoggy. And prior to that, we've been reading the Famous Five books. And I've got to say, there's a significant step up in quality from Famous Five to Harry Potter. Right. But over the course of yesterday, my wife must have read about 150 pages to my daughter with a view of getting to the end of the book and then watching the film.

48:14Yes. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, or is it called the Sorcerer's Stone?

48:19Mike Minogue:In America, it was called the Sorcerer's Stone because they were worried that Americans wouldn't understand what a philosopher is. Is that right? 100%. That's the same reason why a third pounder was changed to a quarter pounder. Oh, no, they got rid of the third pounder because Americans would think that one third is less than one quarter. Right, yeah. Because it's got a three and seven or four. Yeah, that makes sense. and it was a real treat actually to sit there and watch them because I've never seen the Harry Potter films. Right. So I got to sit there and watch them with my daughter as, you know, during her first time.

48:50What I'd sort of forgotten about was that when you're a kid and you watch a movie, if you've seen that before or if you know anything about it at all, you have to say every single thing that is coming up before it happens so that everybody in the room knows that you know more than them. Yes. So about three minutes into it, I got told what happens at the end of the movie. Wow, that quick? Oh, straight into it. And it was just absolutely critical to her that she knew, that I knew, that she knew everything that there was to know. And my wife was trying to stop her from... What did you say? Was she like, he's the bad guy?

49:26Everybody thinks, and spoiler alert, yeah, they think it's Snape, but it's actually not. Straight away. Boom. Just straight into it. That's so funny. but it was quite good to watch it knowing exactly what happened. Yeah. Because you got to see how well put together the movie was. It's like, oh, man, if I didn't know this, I would be totally getting tricked because Alan Rickman seems like a really bad dude. Yes. But I was also conscious of you, Kesey, because I know what a massive psycho you are.

49:56Mike Minogue:I'm not a psycho. For Harry Potter. I enjoy Harry Potter. I grew up, so this literally, I've got a core memory, which is my dad taking me out for dinner and then us going to watch the first Harry Potter in the theatre. Right. And me having to be like, Dad, please. He's like, what is it about? I'm like, just come. I want to go watch it. We have to go watch it. And how old were you? What year did that come out? 2001 or something? Oh, really? So I must have been 10. Oh, wow. Yeah. Far out. It was a pretty special thing. She absolutely loves it. She can't wait to now start the second book. We had all three of us lying on a couch.

50:26It was popcorn and lollies and all that sort of stuff. Pretty wicked.

50:30Mike Minogue:Question. How did she react to the running into Voldemort in the forest scene? Where? Good as gold. Not too happy about what happens to that unicorn. Yes. Because that was a very – I remember as a kid at the theatre being quite scared by that scene. Yeah, I think because we'd read the book, well, essentially that day, she had read it. She was sort of prepared for it. And she managed to tough it out. Normally she freaks out. But on this one, she handled it really well. That's good, man. But it is awesome because I remember growing up in all of these sort of things. For me, it was probably Star Wars.

51:01Yeah, definitely. Lord of the Rings maybe. Indiana Jones films, all those sorts of things where you do have real core memories of watching things with your family. So, yeah, I'm pretty pumped to get into, what is there, another five of those?

51:13Mike Minogue:There's another seven of them because they split the seventh book in two, the movies. But I will say that the first, Harry Potter, magical fun. Right. Second, One Chamber of Secrets, great, but better for the adults. And then it changes to a darker tone from three onwards, the movies. So it's probably not, how old's Mogi Minogi? Seven, just in seven.

51:32Keyzie:So you're just going to have to slow down the reading of the stories. Just a page tonight, little one. Yeah, right. One sentence. Well, you must have taken all of your daughters along to these as well, did you, Josh? Yeah, totally. And they still to this day love a Harry Potter movie. You know what I mean? They'll go, oh, let's watch Harry Potter. 100%. And it'll be like. Did they know? Did they know that?

51:54Mike Minogue:Were they aware that their dad played Dobby in the Harry Potter films? Yeah, they were. That's amazing.

51:59Keyzie:But like everything, you know, everything I do in my career, they're like, whatever. You know what I mean? Actually, they loved Dobby until they found out I was playing him.

52:12Keyzie:Oasis there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday evening. The time is 6.28. G'day, fellas. The biggest competition in the world, everybody's talking about it. The Hauraki Big Show are looking for their lookalikes. We are looking for our stand-in Hauraki Big Show. We are asking you to dob in your mates or even yourself. If you think you look like hoody jizz, old Keezy or Mogi there, flick through those photos to the Haruki Big Show Instagram page. We're going to get you together and we're going to get you up to Auckland and you're going to do all the things that we don't want to do. And let me tell you there's heaps of it.

52:46Tons. So get them coming in. Good stuff. In the meantime, what's on the news? With me, Keezy.

52:58Mike Minogue:Fellas, a law has almost passed in Michigan of the USA because for a long time now, hundreds of years, it's been illegal for kids to run lemonade stands unless they had a permit or paid fees. Isn't that crazy? So in the States, because it's like, what, 50-something states? I don't know. I don't give a shit. A dollar earned is a dollar tax, Keezy. I'll start there. 100%, but finally it is legal for little kids to run a lemonade stand without a permit, without fees. This bill is hopefully going to be passed and it will be legal in that state. It must, however, bring in less than$5 ,000 US per year.

53:33Mike Minogue:Did you guys ever run a lemonade stand growing up? I sort of ran a little moonshine. Oh, alcohol. It was alcohol, yeah, yeah, yeah. How old were you? Well, I was only seven, but this was in Levin. People weren't really into lemonade in Levin. Yeah. They sort of like your bourbons Your whiskeys, your beers And all that sort of stuff Top shelf stuff So we started with the lemonade And we just found that there wasn't the demand But we'd already built that little That stall out of the cardboard The cardboard boxes So it was easier to move to Moonshine Than to pack down this Well it's like how can we use this Because now we've got the office set up You don't want to just chuck that in the bin And get rid of it How can we use it So we just changed over to hard liquor Wow And I was making you know A quarter of a million a year Yeah

54:17Keyzie:It was good money back then eh because I ran a tinny house and, you know. Did you do it out of the lemonade stand sort of set up, though? Because they're very innocent-looking, Keezy. That's the genius of it. Well, the only different thing we did with it, we had, like, corrugated iron as our kind of, you know what I mean? It looked like a little farm sort of shed. Did you use the little cut-out of, like, a letterbox thing and just, like, the money went in there, you swap it out? Yes, yes.

54:45Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah, you make a lot of money out of that. Well, most of you spent it all on meth, didn't you? Yeah, yeah. On a cell?

54:57No.

54:58Mike Minogue:Oh. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

55:17Keyzie:Well there you go you mad bastards That's a big show done and Justin for your Monday night We do a little bonus podcast before the show Called the Podcast Outro Here's a clip from today's podcast We're not going back End of an era and excited at the same time

55:55Keyzie:you're just reminiscing a felz yeah man you know about where we used to live and all that sort of jazz Now, Mogi, you're off home to your lamb and marmalade sauce with kumra, roast potatoes and carrots. Delicious. You excited? I don't know if excited's the right word, but I am excited to get on the couch and watch something. I don't know. I'll be watching the agency, but I'm not particularly thrilled with that. Yeah, yeah. Did you get to the end of that? No, no, I haven't gone back to that for a little while. Right. I think we got about three Epsom. Yeah. It's a bummer. It's a bummer. I'll let you know how we go tomorrow, Kesey.

56:32What are you up to tonight, brother? That's a good question.

56:35Mike Minogue:Tonight, I think we're having burgers of some sort. Oh, yeah. Another food bag situation. And then, yeah, I'll just be going over the scripts for tomorrow's Game of Two Halves filming, fellas. Oh, yes. Yeah, yeah. 57:14Keyzie:My daughter is coming over. She's been dog sitting, and she's still dog sitting. And I said, hey, why don't you pop over for tea tonight? Oh, okay. So she'll be over. Or she's over right now as we speak, actually. helping my wife. We bought her a desk for her room, so they're just putting that together. Don't they want you there to swear at them? Strangely no. Strangely no, they don't bogey. Hey, make sure you check out the podcast. Make sure you check out the Instagram. Till tomorrow's show, see you later.
