In short

The Hauraki Big Show (Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue, Keezy) returns with a temporary “Pugsun and Hoity J” format while the others are away in Europe; they brainstorm new show names, promote Reburger, and hype the NZ Supreme Pie Awards and the Dunedin Craft Beer and Food Festival (Nov 7–8). Main segment: “Connie Chat” is brought back after a year, but the sting music can’t be found; listeners text in sexual-health questions.

Guests/backgrounds

No named guests appear; only hosts and callers. A caller “Ron” asks about erectile dysfunction/“blue pill” timing around turning 40.

Key claims

Connie Chat is a sexual-health segment; the original sting was “wiped clean” (they joke about the FBI). Connie questions are answered PG.

Notable examples

“Connie inside out” question about ribs; “Bullos in the Connie” (asked if they can fit together); Ron’s “blue pill” advice request; plus a “neighbours at war” archival clip about burning polystyrene and smoke drifting into neighbour Phil’s open windows.

0:00Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show. Thanks to crave-worthy street food. Freshly made with Reburger. Welcome. This is Big. To the Hauraki Big Show. Really Big.

0:13Keyzie:With Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh, g'day you mad boss. It's great to have your company this grody Tuesday afternoon. It is the 29th of July 2025 and you my friends as always, listening to The Big Show brought to you by Reburger.

0:29Jason Hoyte:Beef, chicken, vegan and veg-o options. Re-burger, redefining the norm. Re-burger. Yummy. Yes. Yeah, good stuff. You're going to switch up that yummy?

0:42Keyzie:I did, I did. What's the other one? Sauce chickens. Oh, yeah. Those are the only two I can think of at the moment, Pugs-Awn. You know what I mean?

0:48Jason Hoyte:You remember them well.

0:49Keyzie:I mean, I'm under the gun at the moment. I've got to be honest, right off the bat, I'm in a whore of a bloody mood, as Fred-Awn said. Oh, really? Oh, he did. I tell you what, we've had 19 millimetres of rain in Auckland today. That doesn't seem like much. And I've come into the studio with wet pants. I'm sitting in the studio with Pagsane, who's dressed in a sort of 70s outfit for a big Pie Awards show tonight. Thank you. I'm sitting here in wet pants. The fellas are over in Europe, sitting in the sun, quaffing wine, smoking durries. I'm fuming! Do you want to talk about it? No, it's all G, man.

1:27Keyzie:I'm actually okay. There's something about, actually, because we've had beautiful weather over the last sort of seven or eight days in Auckland.

1:34Jason Hoyte:Oh, it's been crisp but bright.

1:35Keyzie:Yeah, blue skies. The sun's been out, Puck Sun. The only thing about that is you feel compelled. Like, you have to get out there and do stuff. Do you? And the nice thing about when it absolutely passes down all day is that you can just sit in your trackies on the couch smelling your own filth. You know what I mean? Not really. Just watching terrible TV, eating crap food, and just making a general pig of yourself. You know what I'm saying? I kind of know what you're saying, except for the filth part, man.

2:07Jason Hoyte:But that's all G.

2:08Keyzie:I mean, I don't shower until about an hour before I come into work, and I stink up until that point.

2:13Jason Hoyte:You also made a point before that you have eaten absolutely nothing today. Yeah, I don't know why that is, actually. And you don't think that's got anything to do with your mood?

2:20Keyzie:No, I don't think so. It's just been one of those days where I just can't decide on what to eat, so I eat nothing at all. Well, I hope you're excited for Stickman and Tubbs. Yeah. It's going to be a massive show, as always, mate. In the meantime, let's kick off with a bit of news.

2:34Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy.

2:39Keyzie:Yes, indeed, Eero Smith. They're on the radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. Actually, on that front, it's not the big show. It's just Pugs and Hoity J doing the show. So keep the suggestions coming, by the way, for the name of the Hoere J and Pugsan show.

2:54Jason Hoyte:Absolutely. We are going to give away a$100 re-burger voucher to the winning name. Yes. Or the person who comes up with the winning name. So keep them coming all day long, and we'll maybe read out some more later on in the show. At the moment, it's still the Haraki Big Chode, if I'm not mistaken.

3:10Keyzie:Yeah, the Haraki Big Chode. Yeah. But we've been sent some absolute doozies.

3:14Jason Hoyte:100%. So keep them coming. And in the meantime, we have had a text here, Jase, just in response to your day and the rain we've had up here in Tarnakim, 90 mils, yeah. Somebody said, we've had 619 millimetres of rain in Greymouth, Jase, barely enough to get rained off. Just another day on the coast.

3:30Keyzie:Yeah, man. But they're massive backbones on the west coast.

3:33Jason Hoyte:Huge backbones on the west coast, yeah.

3:34Keyzie:Now, listen, Paxan, I'm not one to cast aspersions. But there's something that I need to address with you, and I want an honest answer from you. Is that okay?

3:43Jason Hoyte:Okay. And just to be completely clear, I have no idea what you're about to tell me. That's correct. Okay.

3:51Keyzie:Now, regular listeners to this show will recall one of the segments we used to have, which was massively popular, massively popular, and that was Connie Chet with old Pugson. Oh, yeah. Old Pugson. And for, I'm not joking, about a month, Pugson was bugging the ass off the feelers. That's not. saying I've got this great idea for a little clip that I can do in the show, Connie chat with me, Pugsun, and we were like, oh, God, yeah, okay, Pugs, well, maybe one day we'll give it a bit of a whiz.

4:26Jason Hoyte:Is this a different Connie chat to the one where I would come in here thinking that I was going to have a genuine chat with my mates, the fellas on the big show, about some topic that you were talking about, and you want my opinion genuinely for once in your life, and then you play the Connie chat stinging, I'd be forced to talk about prophylactics for the next four minutes. Is this the same one or a different Connie Chat?

4:44Keyzie:No, this is the one that you were banging on about all the time that you wanted to talk about.

4:48Jason Hoyte:Oh, okay, right, right, right, because I don't remember that.

4:49Keyzie:And I recall that, and it used to go off. Yeah. It used to absolutely go off, and Dilly had a little word with me last night, and he said, hey, why don't we bring back Connie Chat? And I said, that is a bloody great idea there, Big Dilly and Studio B. Let's do that. And we were going to surprise you with it, you know, a kind of – Oh, you were going to surprise me with that, just kind of throw me under the bus.

5:13Jason Hoyte:Oh, it's big.

5:14Keyzie:Classic big show, man. How good. Now, here's, I'm not a conspiracist.

5:19Jason Hoyte:Yeah, I know where this is going.

5:20Keyzie:I'm not into conspiracy theories. But Dilly came back to me and he said, Jase, the Connie Chat sting has been wiped clean. It's almost like the FBI has been through the computer and completely removed all trace of Connie Chet, you know, the sting. Well, Jase, I mean. My question to you is have you got rid of the Connie Chet sting?

5:52Jason Hoyte:Look, Jase, if that's happened, I'm really sorry. I mean, you know how things work on the show. Sometimes it's an unreliable system. It's old technology. It's radio. It's one of our oldest media forums, isn't it?

6:04Keyzie:Well, that's okay. We don't need a sting. If you've got any Connie questions for Pugsun, text us now on 3483. We'll get into that next.

6:13Jason Hoyte:I'm not doing it without the sting.

6:15Keyzie:Here's Radiohead.

6:19Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

6:25Keyzie:Skid Row there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is 26 minutes past four o 'clock. I'll tell you what, Pugson, on 3483, the Connie questions are pouring in, and I'm really disappointed that you won't address them. Where are you looking right now?

6:43Jason Hoyte:Because your screen's off, so I'm just...

6:45Keyzie:It's what the people want, but we'll address that later on. Sorry, just on that, Jase.

6:50Jason Hoyte:Yes. I've said to you both, if you can find the Sting music and bang it on the wall and get me properly, I'll do it. Okay, cool. You'll do Connie, chap.

6:59Keyzie:Hey, now, you're listening to the Radio Horaki Chode show with... Pugsan and what?

7:04Jason Hoyte:Jase, Jase, if I could stop you there. What? It's the Radio Hauraki Big Chode.

7:09Keyzie:Oh, okay. It's the Radio Hauraki Big Chode with Pugsan and Hoity J. Because you're short and I'm wide. Yeah, obviously. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the fellas are away. And it just doesn't feel right calling it the big show because it's not the big show. And so we've been putting it out there to people. If you've got any ideas of what we can call this temporary show, Let us know on 3483. And the one that we choose is going to win a$100 worth of re-burger vouchers.

7:38Jason Hoyte:And if I'm not mistaken, we'll probably pick this around the end of the week and then run with it through next week, and I'll get some stings made and things like that.

7:46Keyzie:Yeah, good. Could you make Connie chat while you're at it?

7:48Jason Hoyte:No. Speaking of which, somebody clearly was listening to that last break because their name suggestion is Connie and the schnoz. Yeah, don't mind it. You don't mind it? No, that's okay. The Medium Show with Two Stroke Hoyt and the Yummy Boy. That's kind of just throwing a lot of names together. It doesn't have a ring to it for me, Pug-san. Hoytie Janus and his sparkly butt pugs.

8:15Keyzie:Yeah, that's got potential. That could be a butt pug.

8:20Jason Hoyte:That's got definite potential. I like that one a lot. Somebody here said the Horaki. No, I'm not going to say that one. Remember, if you want it read out on the air, it needs to be safe to read on the radio. Somebody said two people in different ways have said the Hoi San, the Hoi San show, like Hoi San Sauce. Oh, yeah, yeah. With a little bit of Asian flair. Oh, that's clever. So just on that. Racism alert. Racism alert. Somebody here said Ren and Stimpy. Did you ever watch that show? I did actually. I enjoyed it. Which I kind of get that vibe a little bit. It's the other Ren and Stimpy show.

8:54Jason Hoyte:Keep those coming on 3483 as well. There's a few. The Connie chat questions keep coming in.

8:59Keyzie:Yeah, keep them coming because we're going to do it, man.

9:02Jason Hoyte:Somebody said the Hauraki Big Toe. I don't like it. Okay. The Hauraki Big Toe with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy.

9:13Keyzie:Audio slave there on the radio. Hauraki. What is it? Big Toe. The Hauraki. Big Toe. Big Toe. Okay, great stuff. Just to clarify, by the way, Pugsan, as you stated on air, If we find the Connie Chat sting, then you will do it. Thank you. Now, listen, it's the Pie Awards tonight. Yeah. And you're all glammed up because it's a big evening. Yeah. It's a proper celebration. That's right. You get the meal, you get the wines. It's a big event.

9:47Jason Hoyte:There's entertainment as well. So for context, it's the NZ Supreme Pie Awards, I believe. We've got a hodaki table there each year that we do Bear and Pie July. We're lucky enough to go along there. And we've got a couple of winners with us tonight as well, which is really, really cool. A couple of people flowing up for it. So it should be a good night. I believe it's, yeah, pretty much most of the team. You're not going, Jay, so I heard you did an RSVP.

10:09Keyzie:Yeah, no, look, I pulled a hammy to playing golf today. So you can't sort of sit down and eat good food. Yeah, I can barely walk at the moment. Talk to other people. So, no, I won't be able to make it. But here's the thing, you know, you're looking sharp, Ez. Thanks, man. That's really kind. And it's interesting, isn't it? Because when you're in the work environment, you get used to people around you and stuff. And then you have an occasion like this. Yes. You know, where people put on their glad rags.

10:38Jason Hoyte:Yeah. You know what I mean? And they really. It's a fun social thing, too, because you get ready together, you leave together. Yeah, totally.

10:44Keyzie:And people make a real effort. And you get that scenario where colleagues that you've been working with forever and ever and you don't chat too much or whatever, suddenly it's like, hello. Right. And I don't mean that in a pervy way. Oh. You know what I mean? Like people that I haven't noticed before so much in the office and they get all glammed up and you're like, wow. So just out of curiosity,

11:12Jason Hoyte:because there's only two people in the whole Horaki team that have got ready. Obviously, Big Deli's in there and Studio B, He's looking very hot with a turtleneck. He's totally. It's a 70s theme for context. And I got ready. So are you saying that you're kind of into what we're sort of running?

11:29Keyzie:I could sort of pass you by, but big dillies are stuck. You know what I mean? Usually he's a shambles of a human being. Well, yeah. And it looks like he rolls out of bed and, you know, and just comes straight to work. You know, he's probably been on the hammer all night. Usually. And he's turned up today in a suit with a turtleneck. and I am aroused. But isn't it funny though? You do. And then you go out on a sort of social occasion, which can be really weird too because you're used to being with each other in a work. In an office environment, yeah. Like the first time we had a curry night with the Big Show.

12:03Keyzie:Oh, yeah. You know what I mean? And we went, let's go and have a curry night. And it was kind of weird and awkward because we didn't know how to actually talk to each other in a normal.

12:13Jason Hoyte:In a sitting outside of work.

12:14Keyzie:Yeah, sitting outside of work.

12:16Jason Hoyte:Yeah, and also I had put on a blazer for that one and you were getting a little bit handsy. Yeah. That was just the first curry night, though. Yes. Yeah.

12:25Keyzie:It's just something I noticed. I noticed a few people out in the office now have just come, jeez, bloody hell.

12:31Jason Hoyte:Take it easy, man. I mean, it's... So you're more into turtlenecks than wide, pointy collars?

12:40Keyzie:Yeah, well, I'm seeing a bit too much of your weird tattoos on your chest at the moment, Pugsana, It's sort of making me feel a bit nauseous.

12:47Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy.

12:52Keyzie:Good God, that's a tune.

12:54Jason Hoyte:That is the tune.

12:55Keyzie:That was a goat this last year? Oh, yeah. At some stage it was a goat and deservedly so. But right now it's time for What's on the Telly with Mike Minogue.

13:11Keyzie:Yeah.

13:19Keyzie:That was pretty good. Yeah, it's not bad, man. It's better. It's getting better. Hey, Nelson, last night after I stopped playing my Sniper Siege game on my phone.

13:31Jason Hoyte:You haven't put your credit card details in that one, have you?

13:33Keyzie:No, but it keeps trying to get me to do that.

13:36Jason Hoyte:Yeah.

13:36Keyzie:Like, you can upgrade your weapons, but in order to upgrade them, you need to, like, pay money. I'm like, I'm not doing that. I'm just sticking with me old 22 and carrying on with the game. You got it, man. You're a soldier. Now, last night, I finished off the series Severance. Oh, so you're up to date. Yeah, we're totally up to date. And it was one of those scenarios, as previously discussed, where my wife and I were reaching a point with it where we were like, what the f*** is going on? Yeah. Like, this is so confusing. and I was getting a bit grumpy about it. You were running out of patience.

14:15Keyzie:I was running out of patience. For the tension building, yeah. Yes. But can I say, the last episode, very enjoyable. I still don't entirely know what the hell's going on.

14:27Jason Hoyte:No, they don't reveal everything. You know what I mean?

14:30Keyzie:So obviously they're planning on another series.

14:35Jason Hoyte:Yes, 100%, but that'll be, I think maybe at least a year or a couple of years. Now, am I not mistaken, without spoiling what happens in the finale, is the end on the screen that turns to red? Like it's slowly turning red? Yes. Yeah, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember the episode very well. Fantastic show, though. Yeah, really good. They do well, and there was a lot of action. We did get a lot of action in that finale in particular. Yes, a lot of blood. Yeah. It's great stuff. And that's on Apple TV. I believe so. How'd you rate the finale on a busy scale?

15:09Jason Hoyte:3.8 Buzzies That's pretty good Yeah That's a good amount of Buzzies I'll give it 4 Buzzies Okay 4 Buzzies Yeah

15:15Keyzie:Just to round the Buzzies off

15:17Jason Hoyte:Yeah I I just had a bit of a mixed bag Last night with my TV viewing You weren't watching that Island filth again were you? What? Stranded on Honeymoon Island? No I wasn't Jase I was watching Love Island UK I'm back on it man And let me just say there's one guy on the show that's been playing some serious games for the whole series like he's the world's biggest avoider and manipulator and like literally last night we're maybe 50 episodes in so 50 times 45 minutes everyone's caught on to the fact that he's an a-hole it's incredible stuff right okay it's truly special and then we ran out of that and then I got into I don't know the Sopranos or something oh yeah whatever

15:59Keyzie:you know what I mean just be honest about it Puckson just own it you got into your Anime porn. And it's okay, man. It's okay. Jase. Now, listen, after five o 'clock, we've got a really special treat for you. So make sure you stay tuned. It's going to be a doozy. Don't know what that could be.

16:20Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show Podcast.

16:23Keyzie:Yeah, welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're surviving your Tuesday. It's fair old pissing down here in Auckland City. But you, my friends, are listening to The Hauraki Big Show with me, Hoity J and Pugsan, brought to you by Reburger.

16:37Jason Hoyte:Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that'll change the game.

16:44Keyzie:Handcrafted. Yeah, nice, and I see that... Oh, sorry, Jase, if I can just... Sauce chicken.

16:54Jason Hoyte:Thanks, man.

16:56Keyzie:Just to let people know, I was in a whore of a mood when I came in today just because, you know, I got wet pants. You know, and the fellas are over there.

17:04Jason Hoyte:As in, you wet your pants.

17:05Keyzie:No, I didn't wet my pants, Pugs, and it was pissing down my throat. I had my golf jacket on. I had my umbrella, my golf umbrella. Cool. But still I got wet. And so I was sitting there, and we were doing the podcast outro on my wet pants, thinking of the fellas over in Europe there in the sun. Yeah. Having their beersies. Yeah, well, just walking the cobbled streets and quaffing wine and smoking durries. I'm not resentful, man. Here we are in the middle of winter. It's pissing down, I can't be arsed, and I've got wet pants. But I'm not resentful, all right?

17:37Jason Hoyte:Sure.

17:40Keyzie:Now, coming up a special treat. Something we haven't done on the Hauraki Big Show for a long, long time.

17:48Jason Hoyte:I'm not really sure what you're talking about. Well, you will be. Because we haven't planned it. It's not in the planner for today.

17:53Keyzie:And a lot of people have demanded, they've demanded, Pugs-san, that we bring it back. and you yourself said, look, if you can find this thing for it, I'll do it. And it's on record and it's on tape, so you can't deny it, all right? So we'll be doing that next. So if you've got any Connie questions, text us 3483 and Pug's arm will sort it all out for you. In the meantime, here's a bit of Led Zeppelin. I'd say$50 Reeburg is up for grabs.

18:26Jason Hoyte:Nah.

18:29Jason Hoyte:Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Easy.

18:38Keyzie:REM there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. It's nearly 12 minutes past five o 'clock and jeez, what a special treat this is. Is it? It's something that we haven't done in a very long time. It was hugely popular back on the show back in the day. and Pugsun said that if you can find the sting for this, then I'll do it. And that's on tape. It's undeniable. And truly an extraordinary thing happened because we couldn't find the sting. I thought I was safe. A listener texted in and told us the last time it was played, the exact time and date that Connie Chat was played. Unbelievable.

19:23Jason Hoyte:So this is on 3483. Hey, Dilly, the Stings on the Full Show podcast, 1st of August, 2024, at 22 minutes and 42 seconds. Cheers. So we're just about at a good year since we did Connie Chat.

19:36Keyzie:That is extraordinary. Actually, Dilly,$50 eBurger voucher for that, mate. That is outstanding. No, I don't think that's necessary at all. Let's get into it. Fire it off, Pugsan. Sit back and relax because it's time for Connie Chat with your host, Pugsun.

19:57Jason Hoyte:Oh, this is just too good. Listen, if your kids are in the car, I do apologise. This is not my idea.

20:04Keyzie:And I tell you what, as you can imagine, the texts are pouring in on 3483. Look, I don't know what the issue is, Pugsun. It is a sexual health kind of segment. You're a bit of a stallion. Nah. You're just helping people out, man. You're just making sure that people are having safe sex. So what have we got to kick us off?

20:27Jason Hoyte:You've actually picked the wrong time to do this because usually we have somebody else read the text and then I have to respond, but now I have to do both. So it's doubly embarrassing. We did get one before when you initially brought it up that says, G'day Pugsan. Tell me, mate, can I turn the Connie inside out so that the ribs are on the inside? Thanks, mate. That's on 3483.

20:45Keyzie:That is a bloody good question. Is it? It's my assumption that the ribs aren't designed for you personally.

20:52Jason Hoyte:I think if you buy a Connie, you should follow your heart and use it to your heart's desire. Safely, of course. You know what I mean, man? It's 2025. That was my answer. It's 2025, man. All right. Where you, Connie, is how you want. Where's the next one?

21:07Keyzie:Come on, it's moving along. There's a lot of tips to get through, man.

21:09Jason Hoyte:No, there's not. Your screen's off. You get one more. You get one more. Oh, come on, man. And we do have a caller, so we'll see how that goes. Somebody said, hey, Pugs, how come I can't get... Come on, man. How come I can't get my Bullos in the Connie at the same time? And what I would say to that is that they're not supposed to go in there. You're supposed to get separate Connies for your Bullos. Now, we've got a caller on 0800.

21:36Keyzie:Hang on, before we go to Ron. What's that? So you're saying there's Bullos Connies?

21:41Jason Hoyte:No, no, no. You just use other Connies and you put them on your Bullos. You don't do that?

21:45Keyzie:Yep. Wow, that wouldn't fit. Let's go to Ron. G'day, Ron, you massive backbone. How's life? G'day, g'day, gent. How are we this evening? Yeah, good, thanks, mate. Oh, so good, Ron. I've got wet pants, but other than that, what's your question for Connie Pugson?

22:06Jason Hoyte:Ron, just keep it PG, would you, for goodness sake? Yeah, absolutely. I'm very good at keeping PG, mate, absolutely. I've got a family, now it is. So, look, semi-related to Connie Chair, it's a big birthday for me tomorrow. I'm going to be turning the big 4-0. Oh, congrats. Good stuff. Thank you. Thank you. So I just want to check in.

22:24Keyzie:I've heard some people mentioning a similar sort of things. It's something about a little blue pill, and then you need to take them around about this age. So I'm wondering if Woody J could kick in for a bit of advice around that.

22:37Jason Hoyte:Oh, Jase, that'd be really good. Thanks, mate. Just with Ron there, he's asking you a question for Connie Chats. So, hey, take it away, man.

22:45Keyzie:That's a bloody good question, Ron, because you do both, eh, Pugs? What's that? You do Connie's and the blue pill. He wasn't asking me. Look, the only reason that I take a blue pill is when I'm going to the urinal, I don't know where on my toes. But I think you're relatively healthy there, Ron. I'm a bit of a specimen, I would almost say. Yeah, okay. You sound like one, Matt. I reckon you've got another four or five years before you get the melting ice cream scenario, mate. All right?

23:16Jason Hoyte:Thanks for calling, Ron. Give that man a re-burger voucher.

23:19Keyzie:Good stuff.

23:20Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy.

23:27Keyzie:Freebird there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show. We didn't play that. Someone said you're taking the piss playing that song. Yeah. I resent that. I don't want people to think that we played that song because it was extra long and Pugs could have a few more sips of his wine.

23:42Jason Hoyte:Yeah, I wanted to do the live version of Purple Rain, but you wouldn't let me, eh? Yeah, totally, man.

23:47Keyzie:Hey, now listen, the texts keep pouring in on 3483 what to rename or temporarily rename the show with the fellas away because it's not the big show. It's just me and you doing the show at the moment. And we've had some great suggestions.

24:01Jason Hoyte:Yeah, somebody here said, what about milky eyes and lump buzzies? I like it. It feels really good to know what I mean. Who was who in that scenario? Someone said the Haraki Big Foe, which is kind of clever. You know what I mean? Because, like, Keezy and Mogi aren't here. So I was like, it's the Temu version. You know? Yeah, I guess so.

24:22Keyzie:I don't like that one so much. You're not rocking with that one? Yeah, yeah.

24:26Jason Hoyte:Somebody here said Sperm Boy and the Jizz.

24:33What are you?

24:36Keyzie:Wow. There's something about that Say that again

24:41Jason Hoyte:Can I? Just, okay, cover your ears Sperm boy and the jizz Because obviously you're, you know, as everybody knows You're hoity jizz Hoity jizz And so I'm assuming in that scenario I'm sperm boy

24:59Keyzie:Jeez, I'm liking that Okay Let's just Let's put a placeholder on that one there Okay Because that's quite good Now, I've got to address something from the breakfast show, Pugshawn.

25:11Jason Hoyte:Right.

25:12Keyzie:You remember a little while back, you bet that I couldn't do a minute-long plank. Yes, that was last week. You still owe me five bucks, by the way. Oh. And I did a minute-long plank. No big deal. Easy peasy for old Hoity J.

25:26Jason Hoyte:And you're on that dog squad money, so you don't even need a five. Yeah, don't worry about the five bucks, man.

25:30Keyzie:And then Jeremy Wells, and this is the weird thing from the breakfast show, obviously. he's always had this weird competitive streak with me. He's always been, I don't know, intimidated by my oozing masculinity. Really? Because he's like... No, he's like an Adonis. Yeah. He's a ridiculously good...

25:51Jason Hoyte:I've never really gauged that from him.

25:52Keyzie:But for some reason he always feels so small next to me. And he feels like he needs to prove himself physically against the machine, the beast that is Hoity J. Hoity J. And so he did a two-minute plank and threw down the sort of gauntlet to me and said, well, there you go. Way you go, Hoity J. First and foremost, can I just say he's immediately disqualified because he clasped his hands. That's not a plank. You can't do that when you do a plank.

26:25Jason Hoyte:Is that a science, is it? Like the plank is not. It's extra ballast there that you've got.

26:32Keyzie:I'm just going to look this up. So what I want to say is I want him to redo the two-minute plank unclasped.

26:40Jason Hoyte:Okay. Oh, apparently clasping your hands in a plank is generally acceptable, Jase. Well, not in my books, it's not. Okay, cool.

26:48Keyzie:But, you know, look, the gauntlet's been laid down. I'm happy to exceed that. Easy. Okay. So we'll film that.

26:56Jason Hoyte:Yep.

26:57Keyzie:and fire it off to breakfast, all right?

26:59Jason Hoyte:So, sorry, Will, what you want is for him to do it again but not clasping his hands.

27:04Keyzie:Yes, but I'll also just do it for my own sake just to show him that, you know.

27:08Jason Hoyte:He wants you to do three minutes. Well, he said better than two. No, he specified three minutes, Jase. Easy, man. Yeah, come on. The Hauraki Big Show Podcast.

27:18Keyzie:Billy Idol there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this grody Tuesday night. Now, we're very aware of the fact that...

27:28Jason Hoyte:Sorry, Jase. What's that mean?

27:30Keyzie:Why are you decanting your wine into another glass?

27:32Jason Hoyte:Oh, because Dilly didn't want his, so... You're quaffing his.

27:35Keyzie:Responsibly. Yeah, good stuff. Now, we're very aware of the fact that people are missing the fellas.

27:42Jason Hoyte:Well, I mean, we know that because we miss the fellas. Yeah, we miss the fellas.

27:45Keyzie:And so what we thought we'd do is every now and then drop in an old piece from the big show back in the day.

27:53Jason Hoyte:Archival, historic big showpieces, Jase. Yes, what have you got for us today, Pugson? Now, you might remember there was a long, long period, on and off for months and months, you and Mogi having neighbour trouble. Yes, I do. Neighbours at war sort of scenarios. I was my neighbour Phil. No, yours was Bill.

28:09Keyzie:I was a Bill, was it?

28:09Jason Hoyte:Turns out Mike Minogue's was Phil. And this is an issue where he had a run-in with him. Yes, I had another run-in with old Philo next door. Because I haven't told you guys, but I'm actually moving house. moving house. So when you move, I don't know if you noticed, but you sort of realise that 90 % of what you own is garbage. Have you noticed that? Yes, all the time. You think to yourself, why have I got so much garbage in my house? And so I had a bit of a burn off. Nice. Got some of the stuff from around the house, some of the stuff that's sort of been piling up in the garage. So I had a burn off.

28:44Oh God. Here's old Phil comes limping over. because he's 85, right? Yeah, give or take, man. Oh, man, would you mind not doing it when the wind, because the wind was blowing all the smoke? Pretty black. Oh, man, I tell you what. Do you know when you burn, because we had a couple of those huge bags of polystyrene balls that you fill up your bean bags with? Oh, yeah, yeah. When you burn those, man, shit. Toxic, toxic.

29:15Keyzie:And a really oily smoke, too. Oh, really thick. It leaves a really thick, like I got it on the floor. Acrid. Yeah, thank you. Why did you burn them? Why didn't you fill up your beanbags with them? Well, because the beanbags are already full. Because you know when you sit on your beanbag's rages and then they get smaller and then you fill it up. There's just no room for them. They haven't gone down as much as we thought. And I'm not putting them in storage to take up too much space. So you just burn them off, man. They disappear. Honestly, it's like magic. It is. But yeah, pretty potent smoke. So I was wearing a full-on gas mask.

29:45Yeah. I'd learned from the last time I did it. and that smoke was going straight in through Phil's lounge windows, all of the windows actually because he likes them open because it's bloody hot. He said, oh, could you not do it when the wind's blowing straight through my windows, straight into my house? I was like, well, when am I meant to do it?

30:06Keyzie:Yeah, oh, sorry, Phil. Let me just wait for the wind direction to change. God, he sounds like such a piece of work. Let's do it on your timetable, mate. And so, you know, anyway, so burning off a whole bunch of stuff, and he went away with his tail between his legs. I didn't give it to him, but I was just like, come on, mate. You know? Just go out for a while. Go out for a couple of hours. Yeah, exactly. And 10, 12 hours. Beautiful beach there in front of you. Go and take a walk. So anyway, the missus comes out. Oh, you know, Phil's giving me a call. As if I didn't know that was coming. Yeah. And guess who side the missus was on?

30:42Yeah. Phil's. Yeah, of course. Well, yeah. I mean, I'm kind of on Phil's side as well. It sounds like you're polluting his house, burning plastic. Well, hang on a minute, Keezy. Whose windows are open? Phil's, because you said it was hot. Thank you.

30:57Keyzie:You see, with a window, Keezy, there's a little thing called a latch. Yeah. Just pull that towards yourself, put it on the latch there, close the window. Job done. Job done. Yeah, but wasn't it hot? Yeah. Ever heard of a fan, Keezy? Yes. I'm totally with you, Mike. You just stand by the... Seriously, you have the patience of a saint. I know. Look, I don't fire up about it. Yeah. But I just said, look, man, you've got to be a bit more considerate. This is a neighbourhood. Neighbourhood. A collection of neighbours. You've got to be considerate of each other. Yeah, totally. Do you know what I mean?

31:37And he finally got the picture, and I just chucked a couple of tyres on there, because I've had some tyres. because they've been fixing up those old dungers out the back. Got all those wrecked cars. He was learning about the wrecked cars out on the front lawn as well. Saying, oh, it's an eyesore. You're bringing down the value, blah, blah. I was like, how can I be bringing down the value of properties when I rent, Phil? Totally. I know you own your place. I rent, mate. It makes no difference to me at all.

32:03Jason Hoyte:Totes. Oh, how good. Neighbours at war sort of scenario. Well, he was just trying to do a controlled burn, man. I don't think it's that bad.

32:09Keyzie:Yeah, I know. and it's amazing how actually that's all settled down for us now. You know what I mean? My problem is neighbours these days just want to be all in your business. Yeah, totally. Well, you tend to keep your curtains open in the bedroom, though. Yeah, I want them to get involved. Oh, you do? Yeah.

32:26Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy.

32:31Keyzie:Arctic Monkeys there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday evening. Now, the Dunedin Craft Beer Festival, Pugs-san.

32:38Jason Hoyte:The Dunedin Craft Beer and Food Festival. Oh, and Food Festival, my bad. No, no, not your bad at all. It's easily mistaken. But it's going to be an absolutely massive one. It's happening in November, the 7th and 8th there. And today's the last day that people can get amongst the wait list to get the first tickets that go out the gate. So if you don't want to miss out.

32:58Keyzie:What, you sit on some scales or something? Oh, you mean the wait? Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

33:03Jason Hoyte:Sorry, not the wait list, not the wait list. So if you want to get amongst that, you can do that at dunedimbfs.co.nz. Join the wait list and then you'll be the first in line when the tickets go on sale and you won't miss out. It's going to be an absolutely huge one in Dunedin.

33:16Keyzie:I think actually we're thinking of going down there.

33:19Jason Hoyte:We are more than thinking about it, Jas.

33:21Keyzie:Yeah, totally, man. And I've been there a couple of times and seriously, if you've never been, get along to it. It's bloody fantastic. Of course, covered stadium. Yep. So even if the weather is a little bit sort of inclement or whatever, nice and cosy in the dome there. Have a few beersies responsibly, of course. Of course, of course. But the other thing is, and as you mentioned at the top there, there's great food on offer as well and you can stuff your face.

33:45Jason Hoyte:A hundred percent. And if I'm not mistaken, last year a few of the team went down, not the big show. We haven't been to one yet as a team, but last year they had like a DJ going, they had some Yummy Boys tunes going. It's a real spectacle. There's activities, there's all sorts you can get amongst at the festival. and we went down to Dunedin for the live show. It was a ripper. The Dunedinites know how to do it. Yeah, totally. So we're anticipating a huge one at the festival. So make sure you get on that pre-sale list.

34:11Keyzie:Well, I remember our mate Angie. Yes. She went down there last year and they loved her down there. She was queen for the day, or queen for the weekend, made an honorary queen of Dunedin.

34:24Jason Hoyte:Well, there you go. Well, I imagine you'll be the next queen of Dunedin, Jase, once we get down there. Thanks, mate. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

34:37Keyzie:ACDC there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday night. You're getting excited about the pie awards there, Pugson? Can't you tell by the silly outfit I'm wearing, Jase? Well, as I say, I actually think you look quite hot. Wow. You know what I mean? You think I could undo another button, maybe? Yeah, I think so. Show off some more of your ridiculous tats.

34:55Jason Hoyte:Well, I've only got the one ridiculous tat on my chest, but usually the protocol is the more beers you have, the more buttons down you go. Yeah, fair enough. You know what I mean? All the way down to your pants.

35:03Keyzie:Now listen, we're very aware of the fact that a lot of people out there are missing their fellas' voices. Yeah. So every now and then we're going to chuck in a bit, a spit from ages past.

35:15Jason Hoyte:Aye, aye. And this one is at this time because this is when we usually do Meet Paddy Nip 69. Yes. Now that's our advice segment here. We want you to send in your emails to meetpaddynip69 at gmail.com and we give out advice. This was a very early version of an advice segment on The Big Show from 2022. Wow. Yeah, so I had another run-in with old fellow next door. Because I haven't told you guys, but I'm actually moving house. Moving house. So when you move, I don't know if you notice, but you sort of realise that 90 % of what you own is garbage. Have you ever noticed that? Yeah, all the time. You think to yourself, why have I got so much garbage in my house?

35:53And so I had a bit of a burn-off. Nice. Got some of the stuff from around the house, some of the stuff that's sort of been piling up in the garage. So he had a burn off. Oh, God. When you burn those, man, shit. Yeah, yeah. Toxic, toxic.

36:35Keyzie:And a really oily smoke too. Oh, really thick. Yeah, yeah. Acrid. Yeah, thank you. Why did you burn them? Why didn't you fill up your bean bags with them? Well, because the bean bags are already full. Because, you know, when you sit on your bean bag throes and then they get smaller and then you fill it up. Well, there's just no room for them. They haven't gone down as much as we thought, and I'm not putting them in storage to take up too much space. So you just burn them off, man. They disappear. Honestly, it's like magic. It is. But, yeah, pretty potent smoke. So I was wearing a full-on gas mask.

37:05Yeah. I'd learned from the last time I did it. And that smoke was going straight in through Phil's lounge windows, all of the windows, actually, because he likes them open because it's bloody hot. He said, oh, could you not do it when the wind's blowing straight through my windows, straight into my house. I was like, well, when am I meant to do it?

37:26Keyzie:Yeah, oh, sorry, Phil. Let me just wait for the wind direction to change. God, he sounds like such a piece of work. Let's do it on your timetable, mate. 38:23Yeah.

38:24Keyzie:Just pull that towards yourself, put it on the latch there, close the window. Job done. Job done. Yeah, but wasn't it hot? Yeah. Ever heard of a fan, Keezy? Yes. I'm totally with you, Mike. You just stand by the... Seriously, you have the patience of a saint. I know. Look, I don't fire up about it. Yeah. But I just said, look man, you've got to be a bit more considerate. This is a neighbourhood. Neighbourhood. A collection of neighbours. You've got to be considerate of each other. Yeah, totally. Do you know what I mean? And he finally got the picture and I just chucked a couple of tyres on there because I've had some tyres.

39:02Yeah, yeah. Because I've been fixing up those old dungers out the back. Sure. Got all those wrecked cars. He was moaning about the wrecked cars out on the front lawn as well. Oh, yeah. Saying, oh, it's an eyesore. You're bringing down the value, blah, blah. I was like, how can I be bringing down the value of properties is when I rent, Phil, I know you own your place. I rent, mate. It makes no difference to me at all. Totes. Yeah, the old bloodstains.

39:25Keyzie:Yeah. Absolute nightmare. Jeez, I tell you what, it's actually great for me to be listening to these clips as well, Pugson. Really? Why is that? It just takes me back how things used to be. The golden days, AJs. Well, the golden days, yeah. I mean, we've evolved a lot as a show now, but great stuff. Speaking of which, here's Nirvana.

39:46Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy.

39:59Keyzie:Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's another show done and dusted. In the podcast outro today, it was just Pugsun and I as normal. Yeah. It's kind of weird, isn't it? Just the two of us. It's different. It's different, but it's kind of nice just having a chitty chat with old Pugsun. Even though you're in a hur of a mood.

40:17Jason Hoyte:I was in a strange mood today. I wouldn't say hur. Yes. I'd say in a strange neutral mood. You were sedate. I was sedate. And I feel like I've been sedate all day, Dilly. Would you agree? Yeah, a little bit. Dilly's been in a hur of a mood. He's garbage mood all the time.

40:31Keyzie:He usually says g'day to me when I come in. He didn't even acknowledge me today.

40:35Jason Hoyte:I asked him to do a sting since he's in Studio B. Threw a glass at the wall. Yeah, I know. Unbelievable.

40:40Keyzie:And he's titled this clip Sex Tour. So in terms of you going, because, you know, I've obviously recommended Vietnam, but you're going on a sex tour. Is there like a specific... Well, that's why I asked you for recommendations, was for the sex stuff. I went there with my family, Pugs. Yeah, which... I mean, why would I go on a sex tour with my family? Yeah, Pugs, what a terrible thing to say to me. What? Now, listen, it's the Pye Awards today, tonight. Yeah, straight out of here, straight there. You're dressed to the nines. I just need to know, are you going to behave yourself? Because you know what you were like at FMO.

41:17Keyzie:Well, I'm not wearing the muscle singlet, as you can see.

41:20Jason Hoyte:Yes, you got rid of the bling? Yeah, yeah, no bling. So I'm taking it a little bit seriously. As far as the eight women that I apparently turned up with to the VIP at Spark Arena, I haven't heard they'll be there. Right, okay. But that's not to say there won't be eight women there. Sure. Hey, Jase.

41:33Keyzie:Good stuff. I just don't want a kesey scenario tomorrow where you turn up with hooded eyes, reeking of piss.

41:40Jason Hoyte:Yeah, true. Although I have been doing radio now with you long enough that maybe I've earned a hungover day, eh, Jase? Jase?

41:48Keyzie:Hey, now listen, make sure you check out the Instagram account. Make sure you check out the podcast. Till tomorrow, hopefully Pugs Arm will be all right. See ya! Bye.
