In short

The Hauraki Big Show “Tube Special” focuses mainly on a “Big Pole” debate about New Zealand bread—white vs brown—plus listener calls/texts about ideal sandwiches (chip butty, pie sandwich, fairy bread, whitebait fritter). The hosts also cover: Trade Tested outdoor-deck giveaway promotion, TV reviews (Apple TV’s Brothers; Lizzie Borden series; Country Calendar), packing techniques for overseas trips (including “packing tubes”), nightclubbing worries for an 18-year-old daughter, NRL Grand Final betting (Roosters vs Knights), and a sausage roll competition (Nationwide Bakels).

Guests/Callers

Zane (calls in about switching from Molenberg to Freya’s Swiss soy linseed with peanut butter toast). No other external guests appear; the rest are the regular hosts.

Key claims

White bread is “creamy/soft” and not much worse nutritionally (hosts cite protein/carbs/fiber comparisons). Brown bread is mainly better for fiber. Pie sandwiches, fairy bread, and chip butties should be white. No peas or carrots in sausage rolls.

Notable examples

ham/mustard sandwiches, bacon sandwiches on “white death,” peanut butter toast, Freya’s bread shape complaint, Country Calendar timber sports, Brothers’ brother/secret premise, and frozen sausage roll preferences.

0:00Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Thanks to crave-worthy street food. Freshly made with Reburger. Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show. Really big.

0:13Keyzie:With Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh, g'day you mad boss. It's great to have your company this Thursday afternoon. It is the 1st of October 2026 and you my friends as always listening to The Big Show brought to you by Reburger.

0:28Mike Minogue:serving good times and good food, dining or takeaway re-burger today.

0:33Keyzie:Oh, yummy. We've got casual hot Mogey today, and he's back to his jeans and his, what do you call those, Converse sneakers? Yeah. He's got a tight black T-shirt on. God, you're looking good, man. How's life? Going pretty grousey, you mad dog, you sick son of a bitch. It's interesting that you bring up my green Converse because I actually saw your Converse, which were like a greyish sort of a colour. Yeah, grey. And I thought, ooh, I like those. So I thought I bought some. And then because I'm colourblind, I got home and I realised, oh, no, wrong colour. They're green. They're miles off what Jaces are, Keezy.

1:08And my wife calls them my clown shoes. She hates them. And now I just have to wear them like Keezy does with his clown shoes. I just wear them to spite everybody, even though I'm constantly mocked about it. So other than that, man, I'm going grouse. Yeah, good, good. How are you going, Keezy?

1:25Mike Minogue:Yeah, good as gold. certainly not taking footwear inspiration from hoity jizz, that's for sure. That's crazy.

1:34Keyzie:Well, it's really funny, though, that you say that, because I've got two pairs of Convoys, Convoy boots. Oh, Convoys, yeah. Convoy boots, otherwise known as Chuck Taylors. Chuck Taylors. Otherwise known as Convoys. And I actually said to my wife, do these make me look like a clown? And she said, no, it's your face. She said, no, it's your face that makes you look like a clown. That big red nose. It's because they're very long, Moggy. I think you're right. And I don't know what that is. I mean, they fit me well, but they're just very long. And I think you're right. Yes. And that pains me to say that because if you're right, it means my wife's right.

2:11And if my wife's right, I need to stop wearing these shoes because everybody's thinking that I look like a clown. And it's exacerbated the issue there because the both of us, we wear tight jeans. Yes. And so it makes you look slightly ridiculous.

2:23Mike Minogue:It does. But did you know, fun fact, They are such long shoes, right? When they were first designed, that's why they're called convoys because a convoys is quite long as well. Convoys, all right. And an actual fact, an actual fact,

2:41Keyzie:there was a couple of photos, you know, on a one still with me wearing those, and there was a lot of clown sort of comments. Yes. I can't help it if I have massive feet. You know what they say.

2:53Mike Minogue:Yeah, I do. You could wear non-skinny jeans. I don't wear straight jeans. That's not the answer because I also have non-skinny jeans. The blue ones that I was wearing yesterday, and it's a similar issue. My wife just hates them. In fact, I find what happens with my wife is, and I love her, I want to say that right up front, is that she waits for me to buy shoes and then I sort of find out in conversations in front of other people that she hates my shoes. Do you know what I'm saying? Because she allows it. She's like, oh, he's happy.

3:22Keyzie:This is important. Yes, I know, Keezy, I know. But wait, I wanted to talk about this because I was talking about this with my wife just yesterday. Do we need to do this now? No, but we're going, what's on the show, Mogi?

3:38What's happening on the big show with old Mogi? God, this is a tightly run ship. It is, it is. It's unbelievable. I mean, they play this stuff for students. They show them how to do top radio DJing. Today, fellas, we've got all sorts of exciting stuff. Number one, I'll tell you, I've got a bone to pick with both of you bastards. Okay. What? Yeah, no, fair enough. Jase, your daughter, your final daughter, your youngest is becoming older now. Yes. She's just gone nightclubbing and you need some advice just from anyone, actually.

4:07Keyzie:Yeah, man. Next up, Keezy has been lighting up the group chat with us. He wants to talk about what bread's the best. Which bread do you eat in New Zealand? White bread or brown bread? I've got to be honest with you, New Zealand. He's been banging on about this for months. For years. Now we need to do it.

4:23Mike Minogue:The music has run out. There's no music. It's the first time in the history of the big show we've talked for so long the music has stopped. Should I play Foo Fighters? How? What are we? Yeah, okay. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

4:39Keyzie:Buttle Surfers there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday afternoon. The time is 14 minutes past four o 'clock. Is this a big poll?

4:48Mike Minogue:Yeah, I guess it is a big poll, Jase. The Big Pole.

4:58Mike Minogue:Now, Radio Hodaki has a proud history of being a rock and roll station. Yeah, man. We've chatted about some pretty out there stuff. And today's no different. Yesterday I was eating, I was going to make a sandwich. And I went into the pantry there and saw that we had some white death. Some white bread. Yes. And it was tip top, super soft. It was a brand new packet of this bread. So it was fresh. It was fresh. And I used to eat white bread and exclusively white bread when I was single. Then I met my lovely wife and she was like, have brown bread that's better for you. And I haven't looked back until I tried this white death yesterday and it blew my mind.

5:35Mike Minogue:I was like, this is the good stuff. And so I was wanting to discuss with you guys, how do you feel about bread, specifically white versus brown bread? Because the white bread, even if it is bad for me, it's one of the most delicious things in the pantry. And I question whether it is bad for you. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like out of all of the things that you consume, is it so bad to have white bread? Yeah.

5:57Keyzie:One of my great loves in life when I was a teenager was when I used to be at boarding school all week, right? Oh, yeah, you like that. And then I'd come home for the weekend after playing cricket all afternoon. and my stepmother always had on the table there prepared, there was fresh white bread, your champagne ham, and your mustard. And I just, every time I came home on a Saturday afternoon, would just hoe into it. And I'd literally have seven or eight sandwiches. I loved it so much. That's good, eh? Completely agree. A ham sandwich, I would have, the only thing missing there for me, Jase, is some butter.

6:40Oh, and butter, yes. Yes, of course. Now, you can have that on any brown bread you like, and it's not going to be the same. No. No way.

6:48Mike Minogue:And one of the things I used to eat a lot of when I was a kid is literally fresh white bread, usually the yellow packet. Is it Nature's Fresh or something? Yes. With butter from the little butter conditioner, proper butter, and then like apricot jam on it. Oh, that's your love. This is when I was a kid, man. I was like five or six. Come on. And I would just eat like five or six slices of white bread with butter and jam on it. And I had it, yeah, I just.

7:13Keyzie:It's one of the great joys. I mean, can we talk sausages here, fellas? I wish we could. Because you can't, you're not going to do a sausage on a brown bread. Why not? I mean, you could. Well, because as soon as you fold it. Yeah, it breaks in half. Thank you. But a nice, fat, fresh piece of white bread, bit of musty, bit of sauce. Beautiful. It is good, isn't it?

7:35Mike Minogue:And so the other day, yesterday I made a bacon sandwich. Yep. Again, yeah. Because we had bacon. We had a couple of things of bacon left in the fridge, and I was like, I'm going to make a white death bacon sandwich with butter and some sauce on it. It was amazing. So that being the case then, in what instances is a brown bread the go-to?

7:54Keyzie:Look, I'll go a heavily toasted brown bread with your peanut butter. Now, can I say with your Vogels there, and that's what your mind immediately leaps to, right? Mine's Molenberg. Yeah, we've got Molenberg at the moment, but we've also got Vogels, so I prefer, I've got to say, I think they've changed the recipe. I think they've changed it because I'm like, eh, it's fine. But people used to froth over a Vogel's, and I don't froth anymore. Yeah. So what are you wanting to gauge here, Keezy, in terms of, do people prefer? Yeah, is this what we call this?

8:30Mike Minogue:The big pole? Yeah, no, something radio. Vanilla radio. Yeah. So you head to the Hodaki Big Show Instagram story there and vote. Pugs is going to put up a big poll. What bread's best, brown bread or white bread? And this is just, I guess it's going to have to be for the majority of the time. It's just, what do you prefer? What do you prefer, white bread or brown bread?

8:49Keyzie:And knowing my audience as well as I do, I'm predicting a heavy victory for white bread. What about a chip butty? Yeah, white bread. White, fresh white bread. It's just the best, man.

9:01Mike Minogue:3483, you can also text us. Every text in the drawer for free burger vouchers.

9:05Keyzie:What else is awesome with white bread?

9:10Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

9:17Keyzie:Soundgarden there on the Hauraki Big Show this Thursday afternoon and you're listening to Bread Chat with the fellas. Bread Chat. Now Keezy was just talking about the fact that he used to love his white bread. When I was a kid. When you were a kid and I'm the same. I still do to this day. Keasley, did you eat your crust, man?

9:37Mike Minogue:100%. Yeah, totally. Love the crust.

9:39Keyzie:But since he met his wife, she's gone, no, let's be healthy and eat brown bread.

9:43Mike Minogue:Which I got. I was like, yeah, that makes sense. Met more grains, fibre or whatever.

9:48Keyzie:Give you a good scouring out.

9:50Mike Minogue:That's what I need. And I've been on the Molenberg for a good 15 years straight. I've never deviated. Molenberg toast bread. Wow.

9:57Keyzie:Now, listen, we've got Zane on the line. G'day, Zane, you mad bastard. How's life? Pretty grouse, mate. Pretty grouse. Look, mate, as soon as you mentioned peanut butter on toast, I've just been to the shop, just picked up myself my fresh new Swiss soy linseed by Freya's. Oh, yeah. I'm going away from the Molenberg. I was Molenberg for a good long time. Yep. White bread if it's the last resort. And, of course, I'm sitting here, three slices are about to stick out now. I'm sitting there with me picks, peanut butter smooth, ready to go.

10:28Mike Minogue:Cup of tea, ready to go. Me, the dog, the couch, the TV, three slices of peanut butter toast. and tea beautiful every afternoon yeah

10:36Keyzie:I'm living

10:37Mike Minogue:yeah I mean I'm hearing you Zane I'm hearing you but the thing I don't like about Freya's Zane is that it's an annoying shape I want a square what the shape the shape of the bread it's ridiculous it's like you know I like a perfect square so I can cut it in half and it looks lovely whereas Freya's is like weird I don't know probably more traditional it's wrong what they say about you

10:57Keyzie:isn't it yeah well exactly Zane

10:59Mike Minogue:thanks for your call mate we'll check your reberg about you alright good on you mate Good on you, guys. Keep up the work. Good on you, mate.

11:04Keyzie:Thanks, mate. Well, it is an interesting thing with the, because the big, you know, the thing that's meant to be in the court of your white bread is it's meant to be so much better for you to have a brown bread. So it's not even necessarily that people think that brown bread is delicious, only that it's more healthy for you. But I've done a side-by-side here, fjell's. And there's a couple of breads here. I'm not going to name them. Yes, okay, fair. I'm not going to name them. But there's very, very little difference, really, between the two. Your white bread has got six points. So I'm just going to do white versus brown, okay?

11:346.1, this is two slices of bread. Okay. You ready, Keezy? Yeah, ready. White bread, 6.1 grams of protein versus 8.5 in brown. Okay. And white bread, 33.2 grams of carbs versus 30.5 in brown. And white bread, 2.1 grams of fiber versus 4 grams in brown.

11:57Mike Minogue:Right, okay, so double the fiber. So it's practically the same. It's the same thing. Yeah. Who cares? But if you had four slices of brown bread, you're getting double the fibre. And I know that you, Jase, you need fibre. You've been really lacking of late. Yeah.

12:10Keyzie:Well, shoring up, you mean.

12:13Mike Minogue:Yeah, you know exactly what I mean. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

12:16Keyzie:But, you know, as I say, I'm partial to a brown bread, you know, well toasted, cooled off, crunchy. Cooled off. Yeah, with a bit of peanut butter. But in terms of your hams, your sauces, and just pure of your bacon, all that stuff.

12:34Mike Minogue:A lot of texts here on 3483. So pie sandwiches have to be white bread. Agreed. I've never had one.

12:41Keyzie:You've never had a pie sandwich? I've never had a pie sandwich. One of the great treats in the world, Maggie.

12:45Mike Minogue:Has to be fresh white bread for a banana sandwich?

12:49Keyzie:No, I don't do banana sandwiches. I mean, I used to do a banana sandwich. Yeah. And they're correct. It was always white bread.

12:54Mike Minogue:White bread for fairy bread Which is the butter in your hundreds and thousands there White bread is the best And also another thing is chicken noodles In a sandwich or just on their own? Chicken flavoured noodles Yes in a sandwich or on their own I don't know I think it's just on their own

13:12Keyzie:Whatever

13:16Mike Minogue:Fish and chips Chip buddy has to be white bread What about this one here? White bait and mint jelly That's an absolute crock. That's an aberration. That's heinous. That's disgusting. That's a disgrace. I've never heard of that, and that's probably for a reason.

13:31Keyzie:Well, just on that, though, Moggy, of course, with your whitebait fritter, white bread. Absolutely. This gentleman has texted in and said two pieces of bread, whereas I would just, I think that's too much bread to whitebait ratio. Sure. I go the whitebait fritter and fold it up in one piece of bread. Yeah, I'm hearing it. Here we go, too. Yeah, nice.

13:51Mike Minogue:It's good stuff, fellas. What about a cold piece of steak out of the fridge on a piece of white bread with lots of butter and salt?

13:59Keyzie:Yeah. Has it been cooked? Is that what we... Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I think it's pretty emphatic, but we'll wait for the big poll after six, fellas. How does that sound?

14:08Mike Minogue:That's right. Head to the Hauraki Big Show's Instagram story. You can vote there, white bread or brown bread. This is exciting stuff. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

14:19Keyzie:Yes, indeed, Pearl Jam. I am there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this Thursday afternoon. The time is 4.41, and you may have noticed that we've teamed up with our mates at Trade Tested, haven't we, fellas? Yes. And if you've got a deck and you want to just, you know, kit it out, these are the fellas for you.

We will be calling someone tomorrow and giving it away. Oh, that's right. True. So the way it works is you head to tradetested.co.nz. Put together a shopping list up to the value of two and a half grand. No more. And then enter, screenshot it, and enter at hodaki.co.nz slash bigdeckenery. Upload your photo there. We could be calling you tomorrow. I mean, fellas, I've recently sold my house. I'm moving soon. Yes. And one of the prerequisites for my next house is it has to have a nice outdoor area.

15:10Mike Minogue:Yes. Which means, you know, I would go absolutely, I'd go off the rails, shopping at Trade Tested Files to win this one. Barbecue, first of all. Yes. Biggest one they've got. Fancy.

15:19Keyzie:Well, look, the issue that I have at the moment is that I'm apartment living. Yeah. So you know what I mean? So I'm not going to be able to do too much in that regard unless they have like a jacuzzi. A jacuzzi.

15:34Mike Minogue:Well, I don't know if you can put a jacuzzi in your apartment.

15:36Keyzie:Well, I mean, why not? Doesn't your apartment have a hot tub? Yeah, well, it's got a bath, but I mean a jacuzzi. I'd definitely get a stand-up paddleboard. Which you can get from Trade Test. It's unbelievable. Yeah, strangely enough. Look, I mean, I've been looking at it today, and they've got over 1 ,400 items just in the outdoor areas. Yes. Sections. So there's all these other sections. This is just in the outdoor area section, over 1 ,400 items. Unbelievable.

16:02Mike Minogue:Unbelievable, Chris. Certainly is. I'm just looking here. You can get tunnel houses. Yes. Which is like a house you set up, and then you grow your veggies inside, man.

Well, I'm sort of working on mine at the moment, my list to get up to two and a half grand, because I sort of feel like I can enter this. Yes. No, you can't. There's a shed there. Get a shed, 2.3 metres by 1.5 metres. That's$4.99.

16:37Keyzie:Yeah. Because I've got a pool table, and I need somewhere to be able to play, so I want to chuck that out there. I don't know if you'll be able to play pool with that. An anti-bark dog collar,$79. Oh, that's a bargain. Your dog's dead. That's a bargain. What? Mogi, your dog died. No, I know, but the neighbour's dog. Yeah, barks it. Goes to ourselves. What else have I got here? Soccer goalpost,$299. Oh, you see, I could have that in my apartment. Do you like soccer? Yeah, I love it. A raised dog bed,$59. Mogi, you don't have a dog. It died. That'd be good for jizz. But it's such a bargain,$59. Yeah, true.

17:14Yeah, I mean, it doesn't matter if you've got a dog or not, it still looks cool. A floating thermometer,$4.95.

17:20Mike Minogue:Wow, that's good value. That's usually up around the$6 mark. A chicken coop. Yes. Ecoflex large,$699. Wow, Ecoflex too. And are you guys like me, have you always wanted to own chickens?

17:35Keyzie:I have owned chickens. I've owned a chicken a couple of times.

17:39Mike Minogue:Yeah, it'd be good. That's so fun. Yes. Yeah, I'm desperate to get chickens again.

17:43Keyzie:Well, we're talking about, you know, bacon and your white bread. Imagine, you know, fresh farm eggs there from your chooks.

17:49Mike Minogue:I've had it. I own chickens, Jase. Yeah, good. That was so good. But hey, tradetester.co.nz. Put a shopping list together. Upload it at hodaki.co.nz. The premise of the show is that it chronicles a fictional version of the lives of Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, whose strong friendship is put to the test when they decide to live together with their families at McConaughey's Texas ranch after Harrelson's daughter's wedding falls apart. While at the ranch, McConaughey and Harrelson uncover a family secret that the two may in fact be brothers. Now, this is based on a true rumour because both of their fathers were sort of travelling sales humans. Right, yes. And there's a real crossover in the timing and some of the family think that they actually might be half-brothers because the father was running two families in different places.

19:33Also, Harrelson's father, interestingly enough, a convicted hitman. Wow. Shock and bastard. So it's a comedy. It's on Apple TV. I watched the first episode. It relies heavily on the charisma of its two leads. Yes. Could do with a few more jokes. I'm going to keep on giving the first episode to his heart. I'll keep watching two buzies out of a possible five at the moment. I'll let you know how I go. It's one of those things I can very much see me never watching any more of ever again. Yes, I hear you.

20:02Keyzie:Listen, fellas, I don't have much to contribute just because I finished off the Lizzie Borden story. You know, of the serial killer? Well, or was she? Was she? Finished it up, had the court case, and then I won't tell you what happens after that, but quite fascinating, quite a fascinating story, quite a fascinating character, actually. And the actress that played Lizzie is the daughter of Warren Beatty and... I know her, yeah. Yeah, and she's like 26. Annette Bening? Annette Bening, thank you, yes. And she's like 26, and he's like 80-odd. Yeah, everything's possible, Jase. Yeah, well, there you go.

20:48Keyzie:You never know, Keezy.

20:50Mike Minogue:Why are you saying that to me? Well, I'm just saying. It's even too late, man. Cheers, fellas. Last night, I watched an episode of Country Calendar. Country Calendar. You used to do this all the time, didn't you? I know. And so last night, my wife was like, I just want to watch something easy. and I was like, I know what's easy, watching people farming. So we put Country Calendar on and it was about this backbone farmer who rides a horse and rounds up his sheep, but is also the world champion at timber sports. And he's a stud of a human, working out every night, practicing his timber sports. What kind of timber sports have we got?

21:22Mike Minogue:So you've got one where you've got to cut two bits with a chainsaw down, up, down again. That's three bits. Yeah, on the round. And then you've got the single saw. That's on the round. That's right, yeah. You've got the single saw where it's just you and a big long saw. You've got to cut that off. And then there's one where you stand on top of a giant lump of wood and you're cutting between your feet. Yes, yes. You know, one of the great sports. It really is one of the great all-round sports. They used to do it at all the AP and I. When I grew up, it was an AP and I show. God, it's good stuff, man.

21:50There's another one where they have the shaft of a tree. That's right, and they put the plank in. He was doing that. And they put the plank in. You've got to chop some wood, and then you put the plank up. Yes. You climb up, and you've got to get all the way over there. It's unbelievable.

22:00Keyzie:Good wholesome entertainment, that.

22:02Mike Minogue:But this fellow, he was a backbone. He was at the Palmerston North champs to earn the right to go internationally to defend his world title. And his brother beat him. Oh. Yeah, but I was like, it's classic. Like, you know, you do a big story on Country Calendar about being the world champ, two-time defending world champ, like the man, and then you lose to your brother while the cameras are all there. But then he must have paid for his own flights or whatever, went over to Budapest or Bucharest or one of the two, and then won the world champ again. Oh, there you go. Very interesting. That's good stuff.

22:32Mike Minogue:Yeah, great stuff. Great stuff. How many buzzies? I didn't see any. Oh, rating? Three and a half out of five. I like a country calendar when they're setting up some sort of little shop. Like, oh, we've decided to make our own cheese. You know, that's my favorite type of country calendar. Yeah, sure, sure. But my wife enjoyed this one. I genuinely don't think I've watched a full episode of my life.

22:52Keyzie:No, I don't think I have either.

22:54Mike Minogue:That is a crime. It's one of the best shows out.

22:57Keyzie:Hey, now, listen, plenty coming up after five o 'clock. My daughter started nightclub. My youngest, my baby. She started a nightclub. She started nightclubbing. She's not a baby, she's 18. Well, she's 18, but she's still my baby, Keezy. You know, I don't know how I feel about that. How old's your eldest? 31. How old are you? God, is that the... We'd better go to the news, actually.

23:23Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Beat Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

23:29Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. You are listening to The Big Show, and it's brought to you by Reburger.

23:35Mike Minogue:Serving great times and good food. Dine-in or takeaway Reburger today.

23:39Keyzie:Re-burger. What happened there? What do you mean? Oh, you're just, you're normally, you're right on it. Yeah, you're just as sharp as a tap. Do-doosh, do-doosh. Slightly off there. I was just worried about you there. You're a bit tired. I broke it down. Yeah.

23:54Mike Minogue:Well, no, I looked over, and I couldn't decide between which one I was going to read. Oh, right, okay. And then I sort of started. You've not planned that the night before. No. No, usually I do, Moggy. But last night I was bloody flat out. Were you? So I'd have time to go through and be like, okay, I'll do that one at five. Yeah, so that's my bad. It can happen. It can happen. It won't happen again, fellas.

24:14Keyzie:Preparation is king. It is. I thought it was king. Hey, now listen, plenty coming up this hour, by the way.

24:20Mike Minogue:We need to have some holiday chat, Jase, because you and I are going on holiday this weekend. Yes, we are. And I want to compare packing techniques. Sure, sure. Because I reckon you guys will, by the time you've heard me discuss how I pack, you guys will then change to my way of thinking.

24:34Keyzie:Yeah, okay. Well, shall we do some holiday chat next, Keezy? Sure, man, whatever you need. Okay. Do you like Nirvana? Yes, I do. What about Unplugged Nirvana?

24:43Mike Minogue:Yes. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

24:48Keyzie:Harvey Danger there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening. Now, fellas, it's common knowledge now, of course, that old Keezy and I are off for two weeks. Starting next week, Keezy off to Japan, of course. Hoidi J to Aussie.

25:05Mike Minogue:Yeah, so both of us, you know, going to the far reaches of the earth there. For a different, it's nice to see how different cultures are living and existing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm fascinated to meet some Australians. Oh, but I thought you were just going over there to hang out with some New Zealanders. You're going to meet up with your New Zealand family in Sydney and then you're going to go and meet up with all your daughters across the rest of the country.

25:26Keyzie:Yeah, pretty much. I'll try and avoid the locals as much as possible.

25:29Mike Minogue:I'm going to Japan, and fellas, one of the things about Japan is they recommend, because of all the trains and stuff, that you don't take big suitcases. They say keep your luggage light because you'll be carrying it upstairs and doing all sorts otherwise. Yes. So one of the packing techniques that I've adopted in recent years, have you heard of packing cells? Yes. Packing cells. Mike? Yes. Okay, sweet. Well, then don't worry about it. I've heard about them, yeah. I mean, I use this. Well, you have little compartments, is there? Yeah, yeah. I use little, what I use, this is just me, little plastic bags, little airtight plastic bags.

26:06The squeeze or the air out of them, it means you can just fit significantly more clothes at any one time. You can even do them, Jason, if you wanted to, you can pack individual outfits in each one, and then you can also pack your dirty laundry in these bags as well. Very, very easy. I've been doing it for decades. Yeah, yeah.

26:24Keyzie:I go, interestingly, the tubes. Oh, yeah. I get the tubes. What does that mean? And I just get lots and lots of little tubes and just stuff. What kind of tubes? Well, you know, like round tubes, Keezy. No, I know what shape it is. Like a Gringles container. Imagine a drainage pipe. A PVC pipe? Yeah, cut into little segments, and you just fill the tubes and then just line all the tubes up in your bag. But the thing that's freaking me out, I bought this new suitcase. Is it a tube? No, no It's a beautiful It's like 2.5k So it better be bloody beautiful I'm a little bit I'm a little bit concerned Because they had to fly it up from Dunedin Right, it's a suitcase Then it's like God, is it going to arrive on time?

27:08Keyzie:I guarantee it'll arrive on the Monday After I've left Has it got a secret compartment in the bottom of it? Yes, it does What do you put in there? Tubes

27:20Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki

27:26Keyzie:Gorillas there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening, we're talking packing for overseas, aren't we fellas and I feel terrible Keezy because we sort of got sidetracked there, we did you were talking to us about your particular packing technique, oh yeah that's right and that got you talking about tubes Jase, which I found fascinating Yes. We can actually, a lot of people don't know about them actually, Mogi, because you can get them anywhere. But they are very, very efficient in terms of your space.

27:54Mike Minogue:Are you talking proper PVC pipe? How heavy is your suitcase?

27:59Keyzie:It's a heavy, it's a light plastic. Would a Pringle container do the trick? Oh, look for your undies. Yes. Maybe your socks or something like that. Toiletries. But this is actually specifically made for travel. It's very light, but it's also very hardy and sturdy. Travel tubes. Travel tubes. A lot of negative space with a tube.

28:19Mike Minogue:Yeah, hard to put a whole lot of tubes together. They should be hexagonal, like a beehive. Thank you. Yeah, maybe. Maybe. But your undies aren't beehive-shaped. That's the problem. No, no, no. I'm not saying they should be beehive-shaped. I'm saying the honeycomb in a beehive, the way that's shaped. Because a beehive is sort of a weird sort of – Hexagonal, isn't it? Well, it takes any kind of shape, doesn't it, depending on how big it is. I've seen beehives, Keezy, in walls. No, totally, Mogi. So is that what you're suggesting? People put a wall in their suitcase?

28:50Keyzie:I mean, that's not going to fit in your suitcase, though. I can't put a wall in there.

28:53Mike Minogue:What I'm saying is if I was to start some sort of travel tube company, I would change it from your standard tube to a hexagonal tube because that way you can slot them all in there and it'll be nice and sturdy. because nature has solved the issue of how to maximise space with a tube-like shape, and they've gone for the hexagonal honeycomb. Or is it octagonal?

29:15Keyzie:The issue that you have with your hexagonal, though, is – and this is why tubes are so efficient. You can fit more in a tube than a hexagonal. No, no, that's not strictly true. So while you're saying that tubes aren't spatially better – What's the negative space? They do fit in a lot more than your hex. And, of course, the trouble is, Keezy, with your hexagonals. Yeah. You start putting a whole lot of hexagons together, and before you know it, you've got bees. Yes. You've got bees everywhere because they can't tell the difference, famously, between a beehive or a storage system. And I'll tell you what, you don't want that when you're going through customs in Japan.

29:53Keyzie:You can't take honey. A full beehive.

29:57Mike Minogue:But yes, the way I usually pack is I'll just fag everything in there on the day. Yeah, that sounds about right. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

30:11Keyzie:Soundgarden there on the Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening. Fellas, I've got a bone to pick. You know, there's been a lot of chat about you guys going away for two weeks. You've got a big holiday coming up. Big holiday. Yeah. Hoody J, you're off to the Eastern Seaboard of Australia. I heard that they were going to give you the key to the Eastern Seaboard. You spent so much time there. I didn't want to mention that, but apparently so, yeah.

30:38Mike Minogue:The key to the seaboard? Yeah.

30:40Keyzie:Yeah, the Eastern Seaboard.

30:41Mike Minogue:That's not even a thing, is it? Of course it is. Yeah, yeah, man, totally. I thought it was a swipe card. And then you, Keezer, you're off to Japan. That's right. Following in the footsteps of some of our great explorers like Pugsha. Yeah, that's right. ever since Pugs built an entire personality around going to Japan briefly, I just thought, man, I've got to go see it. Yeah, totally. Makes sense. See what it's all made of. I guess my concern is that both of you guys get to go on a lovely two-week holiday. Yeah. Meanwhile, old mogies left behind. And I don't want to be just abandoned with Pugs-san because I see it as an opportunity.

31:15Of course. Of course. However, that said, I'm getting a vibe from you guys that you don't really have any intention of coming back. What do you mean? Is that accurate? because it feels like, I'll be honest with you, it feels like this is a ruse. Right. It feels like you're not even going to Japan. You're not going to Australia. You're going on some sort of South Island ticket tour or something like that. What, just CJ's? What, together? Yes, together. Or you're going up to Russell when you're going to start your own radio show. And I just want to have it out here now. Mogi. And just once and for all just know that we can expect you back on or about the 19th of October.

31:54Mike Minogue:Is this because I haven't booked my flights to Japan yet? That's part of it. Because I told you I like to book them on the day. I know, I know, but it seems unlikely because up until this point, you're probably the most anal man I know. In fact, that should be your nickname. What, anal man?

32:07Keyzie:Can I clarify? You're exactly right, Mogi, when you say on or about. Yes, thank you. I'll be back on or about around that time.

32:23Mike Minogue:Wait, so that doesn't sound like it's definite either.

32:28Keyzie:Well, I mean, it's hard when you're travelling to be definite. Yeah, right. Because things can happen. Have you got a return flight? Not at this point, but what I'm planning is at the end of, you know, going down the coast there, we'll be able to pick up some cheap tickets. It's, you know, maybe even along the way as we're driving down, we might, you know, come across a deal or two or something like that. Well, it's not making me feel any better, I'll be honest with you.

32:52Mike Minogue:Right. Mike, the idea that me and Jase would secretly go on a holiday together and just run away together, like what, you think we're just going to leave our wives behind and run away together, me and Jase? You know, it doesn't sound that weird to me. I've seen the way you two, you know, toss the pigskin around this office.

33:12Keyzie:Well, I mean, I've got to be honest with you, it's not unappealing. No. You know, I mean, how long do you reckon we'd last with the money we've got at the moment, Keezy? Oh, I've got my ditch money.

33:23Mike Minogue:You've got dog squad money. No, I've used all that. Have you? Yes. You've got your broken wood money. Yes. I reckon we'd last, you know, six months.

33:31Keyzie:Yeah, yeah. And then we'll just take it from there, maybe. Okay, right. But like, as you say, this is a huge opportunity for you and Pugs. I don't want to come back and spoil it immediately that we finish our holiday. Excellent. That's where I was trying to get to. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

33:46Mike Minogue:What was that nickname of mine again? The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

33:55Keyzie:Blank Sabbath there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening. Now, fellas, my youngest daughter, my baby, as I like to call her, still at home with us, but she started nightclubbing. Do you remember your nightclubbing days, fellas? I do. Yeah.

34:12Mike Minogue:I don't know if I really had nightclubs.

34:15Keyzie:You don't strike me as a nightclub. That's not what I mean. I don't mean that as an attack on you, Keezy. Oh, no, of course. Simply, you don't strike me as the sort of – you're more of it you go to the pub with your mates rather than a nightclub and have some cocktails and a bit of a dance. Yes, that's right. Well, to be honest – So there's no lights on, just a little bit of maybe lasers, Jase. Yes. A little bit of oomph, oomph.

34:40Mike Minogue:Well, to be honest, I'll be honest, when I was your daughter's age, and I'm being honest here, I hated going to the clubs. Right. Yeah, yeah. Because we'd go around to a mate's place and have drinks, and then at midnight you'd go, right, should we go to town now and go to the clubs? And I'd be like, but it's way more fun here, man. We're like playing pool. Yeah. You know, we're talking shit. We've got music on.

34:59Keyzie:Look, I've got to be honest with you because I lived near to the city, so I was quite a big clubber. I mean, I don't know that I liked it, and I know what I got up to in clubs. You know what I'm saying, fellas? So that's what?

35:10Mike Minogue:Are you worried about your daughter because of how you...

35:12Keyzie:Well, I'm just saying, as a parent, it's very hard to divorce yourself from the reality of what you were like when you went nightclubbing. Thank you. You know what I'm saying? Your own experiences. Yes. You know, you sort of match them up with what your daughter's potentially going to go through. And to be fair, she will. She will, yeah. Of course she will.

35:32Mike Minogue:Well, hang on. What were you guys getting up to nightclubbing? Because to be honest, I was a pretty, like, you know, Pretty vanilla. No, I was on the piss, but that was it. There was nothing crazy going on. Well, what have you got? Huh? What have you got? What do you mean? That would be the question at the start of the night. Oh, right. Okay.

35:47Keyzie:Yeah, yeah. What are we thinking? Yeah, what do you reckon? Yeah. And, of course, you know, nightclubs are notorious for that kind of carry-on. You know what I mean? Dudes and jackets. What have you got? What are we running with tonight? What's the vibe? The next thing you know, your eyes are all over the shop. Yes. You're up on the podium dancing

36:07Mike Minogue:But that's not necessarily a terrible thing though, is it? Wow No, no, no No, but then I'm not, you know, I'm not Jase's daughter Yeah, yeah I think that's the thing

36:17Keyzie:I mean, I That's true I think she's got a good head on her shoulders Yeah I think she's responsible

36:24Mike Minogue:Well, what are you worried about specifically, Jase? Are you worried that she's going to go to a club, have a few drinks Well, they got home at about three or four this morning

36:32Keyzie:That's pretty standard And I was like, hey, because I'd stayed up all night. Can I ask you, yes, that is a good question. Last night my wife was up. She's worked the last two nights. She's got to bed. First night, 1.30. Wow. Last night, 1 o 'clock. She's working from home on the computer. I can't sleep with her in the other room. No, I can't. I absolutely can't. And so the idea, and that's my wife. She's not 18. And so the idea that your daughter is out on the town. Yes. Till all hours. Talk to me about the quality of your sleep. The quality of my sleep is not good. Well, it's like when my daughters travel as well and I listen to the sirens, I listen to the screams and hollers outside, I twist and I turn, I break out in a soft and gentle sweat and then after a couple of hours I fall into a fitful sleep, which is then disturbed by her banging on her door going to bed.

37:30Mike Minogue:Right, okay.

37:31Keyzie:And then I'm kind of awake from there on in going, God, are they all right?

37:35Mike Minogue:Yeah.

37:35Keyzie:Yeah, that's parenthood, Keezy.

37:37Mike Minogue:But you don't have to live in the CBD and listen to all the stabbing and the screaming and stuff going on and then associating that with your daughter clubbing.

37:44Keyzie:Well, it's very hard not to when it's right outside your window.

37:47Mike Minogue:Yeah. Well, to be honest, man, the only thing you can do is put on your coolest jacket and your cool shoes.

37:53Keyzie:If you can't beat them, join them. Go clubbing. My wife was suggesting that. Hey, why don't we just go to the nightclub as well and just hide in a corner and have a bit of a... No, no, no. I know you get spotted pretty quick. Yeah, 100%.

38:04Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

38:09Keyzie:Skid Row there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening.

38:13Mike Minogue:Fellas, this Sunday the Roosters are taking on the Knights in the NRL Grand Final. Of course, Jerry and Minai are both going along with Boys Trip. Oh, of course. Are they? Yeah. I didn't realise that. They fly out tomorrow. What do you mean you didn't realise that?

38:27Keyzie:I didn't realise they were going to the grand final.

38:30Mike Minogue:Are you jealous? Nah. Right, it's just that you kind of hate rugby league, so it'd be a weird thing to be jealous about.

38:35Keyzie:No, I just didn't realise they were going to it. Was that an ACC thing, is it? Yeah, we sort of, you know, remember that sort of six to eight weeks we were talking about every day. That was in there. Oh, okay. Oh, yeah, now I remember. Totally.

38:47Mike Minogue:If you are going to the grand final or if you're just watching it at home, why not download the Betcher app and join old Keezy's pot? he's, well I have hosted a few pots this year, some of them great, some of them really horrific, but I highly recommend you join in, download the Betcher app, go to BetSocial, type in the code BACKBONE, join the pot and then this Sunday you put some money in, I take over, place the money, the bets on behalf of all the backbones out there and then we all get rich hopefully I don't know.

39:14Keyzie:Sounds good, can I just ask you guys by the way, what's your vibe on this? Because we've sort of stopped talking rugby league, who's going to win this bastard. Yeah. Well, I just hope the Knights do. Yes. Sort of the end of it for me. Yeah, yeah.

39:27Mike Minogue:I hope the Knights do as well because they haven't won in ages and the Sydney Roosters are a huge glamour club with heaps of money. They've won a lot recently. With a suspiciously high... Yeah. Salary cap. Yeah. They call it the celery sombrero. Yes. Bit of a joke there. But if you want to join the pot, as I said, get the Betcher app. It's the number one app to bet on sports in New Zealand. R18, of course, bet responsibly. Fellas. Good stuff.

39:51Keyzie:Okay.

39:52Mike Minogue:Coming up after six, Pugs needs a hand, guys.

39:55Keyzie:Oh, okay. I'm always happy to help Pugs, son.

39:57Mike Minogue:Yeah, and also I'm worried about Jase. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

40:08Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Thursday night's absolutely going off. You're listening to The Big Show, incidentally, brought to you by ReBurger.

40:17Mike Minogue:Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that'll change the game. Hey, thanks for coming in. Sorry for the late notice. Yeah, no worries. Always happy to help. I'll get to the point. We've had a few complaints about you distracting your co-workers. Oh my goodness. No. I walk around the office saying yum at various times of the day. It's really not... Oh, you're talking about yummy. It's not work-related and it's not work-chat. No, that's just because of this burger place that I like to go to. Right, okay. Reburger. Are you talking about Reburger? That's it. Oh, mate, fill your boats as long as it's Reburger.

41:03Mike Minogue:Ah, sweet as yum. Yum.

41:08Keyzie:Yeah.

41:09Mike Minogue:Yeah. Happy with that?

41:10Keyzie:Yeah, I am happy with that. I like the longer, more elongated clips.

41:15Mike Minogue:That's because you don't have to talk for however long. Yeah, it just gives me a little bit of a break. Yeah.

41:20Keyzie:My wife's just texting me on the food front, actually. How do you feel about a dirty old spag bowl? Yum. That's good, Eaton. No. I love spag bowl. No good. I like my spag bowl. Not hers. Specifically not hers. Yeah, you've been pretty staunch about that over the years. I'll give you that. You're consistent. Wow, that's... Not just a spag bowl. I mean, it's very good. Sure, it doesn't sound it. It's more that I just don't feel like spag bowl. Why do you say that? That's not what you were just saying, because you're just saying specifically that your wife's bag bowl not up to it. It's just not my vibe tonight.

41:53Keyzie:What about you, Kesey? What are you eating?

41:56Mike Minogue:Why don't you tell her? Nah, I don't feel like that. I did. What did she say? She went, okay. Whoa, silent treatment. I like it. Here we go. Last night, fellas, I had yams. Remember that? Yes. Actually, delicious meal. Was that yammy? They were yam. Yum. I find them a bit watery. Yours maybe. Your ones are shocking. Your wife makes good ones, though. So it was roast yam, pumpkin, and capsicum in the oven. Yeah. And then we mixed that in with some couscous and some Moroccan paste and then cooked some halloumi, put some spinach through it. It was delicious. It was so good. And I said to my wife, hey, we should have that again because it was yummy.

42:34Good chat. What'd she say?

42:36Mike Minogue:She said, what? Yeah. She's a deaffy, eh?

42:40Keyzie:I'm sure that it was delicious, Kesey. I tell you what, we've got a big hour ahead, so we need to get into it. Why don't we start off with a bit of LMNOP?

42:49Mike Minogue:What are you having tonight, Mike? Well, it's hard to say, isn't it, Keezy? I think a couple of chicken breasts. Ah, heavy breasts. Well, we're going to find out when I get home, but fingers crossed, Hoity J. Fingers crossed. Did you say LMNOP? Yes. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

43:08Keyzie:Clash there on the radio. Hodaki, big show this Thursday evening.

43:14Mike Minogue:Fellas, one sausage roll is about to become a Kiwi legend. Yeah. Okay, because the Nationwide Bakel's legendary sausage roll competition is on now. The winner is going to be announced tomorrow right here on Hodaki. The best sausage roll in New Zealand. So the stakes are high, aren't they? Because sausage rolls, to be honest, I would say a saucy roll is of more importance in my family than a pie is. Is it?

43:37Keyzie:I'm going to be honest with you. I had a very fancy dancey one the other day, and it was bloody delicious. A big one? Yeah, it was quite big, and it was a chorizo sausage roll. So it had chorizo sausage instead of your standy sausage. So it had a bit of a bite to it, had a bit of a kick to it. It was bloody delicious. I prefer, personally, a small sausage roll. Oh, like that little dinky inch, inch and a half long. Like a savoury sort of a thing that you might find at a kid's party or something like that. Generally, you'll get them in a roll and you chop them up.

44:11Mike Minogue:I love those. I prefer a bite size. Yes. Because when you get the big ones from a bakery, this is just me, there's too much of the sausage. The ratios are off. I like a high crispy concentration on my sausage roll. Has anyone ever, just on that, because whenever you have a dinner party and someone brings out the frozen sausage rolls, cuts them up and cooks them, they're my favourite. a little tub of tomato sauce to dip it in. Right. That's living, man. What are these dinner parties you're going to? You lucky bastard. Fancy much. That was a sausage roll. Ten out of ten entree. Has anyone ever just got one of the frozen long things and not cut it up and just held it in one hand?

44:52Mike Minogue:There you go. And just gobbled it down. And just devout it.

44:55Keyzie:No, I personally never have. I might try it. It's really interesting you bring those up because my wife and I were in those for quite a while there. You were in them? No, we used to have the frozen sausage rolls that you'd chop up. I know the ones. Oh, the ones we're talking about. The ones you're talking about. But we haven't done it for years and years. Why? I don't know why, Moggy. Kids gone? Yeah, maybe it's because of kids.

45:20Mike Minogue:Because you've got, I don't know, I don't have any kids, fellas. But if your son or daughter had their friends over and you had to feed a whole lot of them, saucy rolls. They get nothing. They just get nothing. Generally speaking. but yes, I know what you're saying. The other thing that I don't like, Keezy, is when it comes to a sausage roll, and this is a hard and fast rule, straight in the bin. Any vegetable. Yeah. There is not to be a pea in it, and there is not to be any carrot in it. I am not eating a sausage roll to get my veggies in me. Forget about that. If I see any of that, it's in the bin.

45:53Mike Minogue:Really? Immediately, it's gone.

45:55Keyzie:Even if it tastes really nice and you can't tell. It doesn't taste nice. It doesn't. It's just pastry and meat. Yeah. You know, with a bit of sawdust chucked in. I can live with a little bit of onion, and even then I'm not super thrilled, but I can definitely live with it.

46:11Mike Minogue:Yeah, right. But if there's carrot or a pea. Oh, but corn's all good? No. Hey, by the way, to celebrate the fact that we're going to be crowning the best sausage roll in New Zealand tomorrow, text the word ROLL right now with your name and your workplace address to 3483, and you could win a sausage roll workplace shout from Radio Hauraki, all right?

46:33Keyzie:Sounds good, mate.

46:34Mike Minogue:Yeah. That is roll with your name and workplace and address to 3483. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

46:43Keyzie:The offspring there on the Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening.

46:47Mike Minogue:Fellas, I'm a bit concerned about one member of the Big Show, that member being Hoity J. Yes. I worry about you, Jase.

46:55Keyzie:Do you, man?

46:56Mike Minogue:Do you, man?

46:57Keyzie:Yeah, I do. Well, what's going on, Kesey? Talk me through it.

47:00Mike Minogue:Well, the thing I'm worried about is you're going on holiday soon. I'm just worried you're in the departure lounge already, man. Oh, yeah. Oh, so you are? Yeah, yeah. But what's your concern about it? Well, I was kind of hoping you wouldn't be because we still have two – well, this show's almost finished, but another show tomorrow to do, man, and I want it to be high-quality radio. Well, what's tipping you off? How do you know? Well, for example, I've just Googled it. Outside of him saying that he is. Well, outside of that, I've just Googled, you know, sort of signs a co-worker might be. Signing off?

47:28Mike Minogue:In the departure lounge, yeah. So ruthless boundary setting. So they flatly refuse to take ownership of any new initiatives.

47:38Keyzie:Well, I mean, that's true.

47:39Mike Minogue:100%.

47:40Keyzie:That's just me every day.

47:42Mike Minogue:Well, exactly. So how long have you been in the departure lounge for? Well, like four years. Yeah. Unshakable zen. Okay, so this says things that usually would stress them out, don't stress them out. and they're met with an airy, calm serenity. Yeah, yeah. That's you, man. That is interesting. Totally. It's like how earlier in the show you were talking about how your daughter's been going out clubbing. Yes. Your 18-year-old daughter and you're a bit like, usually you'd freak out about that, but you seem so chill about it.

48:14Keyzie:Yeah, I was zen. Yeah, that is an interesting one. But again, I'm zen all the time, so it would be hard to pick that.

48:22Mike Minogue:The wardrobe devolution. Okay, so professional attire slowly gives way to pre-holiday casual. You know what I mean? So you've been wearing that hoodie for, I don't know, like a year now.

48:32Keyzie:Yeah, it's so comfy, though. And again, for a year. So, you know, I don't think that's any specific sign per se.

48:40Mike Minogue:Holiday small talk, every conversation, no matter how it starts, ends with their mention how many sleeps are left.

48:45Keyzie:Just on that, by the way, Mogi, because you've been down that coastline, of Australia there. So I'd be keen to, you know, pick your brain. How many sleeps, Jase?

48:56Mike Minogue:What's that? How many sleeps is it till you go? Three sleeps. See, he's doing it. Yes. Weather obsession. They're always talking about the weather and monitoring the weather because you keep looking out there and talking about it. Well, we literally do weather chat on the show.

49:09Keyzie:Every day. Every day. I mean, I don't know what's happening in Australia, but it's bloody windy out there. I'm not happy about it. Yeah.

49:15Mike Minogue:Yeah. So are you concerned at all, Mogi? The only thing that worries me is that Jase doesn't leave. My concern is that you go in the departure lounge and then you change your mind and come out of the departure lounge. Get in the departure lounge and go. So you're counting on him going. I like it because with having Jason in the departure lounge, it eases me into his absence. Yes. Do you know what I mean? Yes. Otherwise, if you're fully professional up until the end, then you don't turn up on Monday, which is what's going to happen this time. Yeah. I'd be shocked.

49:48Keyzie:Yeah, yeah. But this way, you haven't really been here for the last week and a half. Yes, yes. I'd never be fully professional to the end.

49:54Mike Minogue:Right. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

50:14Keyzie:Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's the end of The Big Show this Thursday evening. I hope you've enjoyed it. In the disclaimer today, what were we chatting about, fellas? Do we have any ideas?

50:26Mike Minogue:Maybe this will ring a bell. The clip of today's disclaimer, which comes out at 7.30, is entitled Danglers. Have a listen and decide whether or not you want to listen to the full chat. So you're seeing that from behind. His anus is pointing at you. And he's just got the danglers there.

50:44Keyzie:and I literally just opened my eyes and that's what I saw and I was like, holy f***.

50:54Keyzie:Yeah, that was, we were telling a story about when I accidentally ended up on a nudie beach without knowing it and I was a bit hungover and I had a little snooze on the beach, woke up and there was an old fella bending over fully nude, putting his towel down.

51:07Mike Minogue:Yeah, so listen to the full chat, comes out at 7.30 tonight. Yes. Moggy, your plans for tonight, please. I'd probably go down and go home and just sniff up a bunch of phlegm in that. Yeah, yeah. That's sort of been happening. Sounds like fun. It's been happening over the last sort of hour or so. A little bit of work, a little bit of bath. I want to watch the old mate there, Mobland. Oh, yes. I want to watch that. It starts tonight, right? No, it's been, there's already two episodes. Oh, it's already out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I want to get involved in that. So anyway, pretty easy one for me, fellas.

51:38You know, it's not like I'm going away on any big holidays or anything. You know, nothing to sort out from my end. What about you, Keezy?

51:45Mike Minogue:I have got to, I'm going to stay here at work and use the big studio out there to film a self-tape audition. Nice. I just figure here, neutral space away from home. My wife's, you know. Good size as well. Yeah, yeah. Exactly. So I'll film that and then I'll pick something up on the way home for Dins. Ooh. Yeah. What about you, Jase?

52:01Keyzie:Nice, nice, nice. I actually might, now that I've heard that, just hang around and, you know, talk you through your audition there, Keezy. Well, I wouldn't mind a bit of help with it. Could you hold the camera? No. Then I might just meander. You know, sometimes you get in those moods where you're just like, I'm not going to walk straight home today. I'm just going to go for a bit of a wander. Never been in that mood ever. Because, as I mentioned earlier, my wife said she was going to make some spag bol. I don't know that I want spag bol, so I... I'm going now. I might... See you, Mojie. See you.

52:38Keyzie:See you. See you, Mojie. I might just see if I can pick something up on the way, Gizzi. Not Hot Pot, though. Can I go? I need to go. Actually, um...

52:47Mike Minogue:Can I teach you how to stop recording here so that you can keep going and then I can leave? Actually, that's not a bad idea, the old reberger. So what you do, when you want to stop it, you just push this button here, this one here, Jase. Ready?
