0:09Keyzie:Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show. With Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh, g'day you mad bastards. Great to have your company this glorious Monday afternoon. It is the 17th of November 2025 and you my friends, as always, listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Rebeer Gear. Crave worthy street food freshly made with Rebeer Gear. Yeah. Great stuff. Good day, Mogey, you stallion. How's life?
0:39Jase:Going pretty grousey, you mad dog, you sick son of a bee. What a weekend, man. Yeah, beautiful. Full of yarns and tails out the back of that one. Let me tell you, fellas, I had an absolute ball and we really are getting into the business end of summer now, aren't we? We are. Eh? I'm fired up about it, actually. I'm frothing about it, Keezy. How about you, you mad bastard? I'm stoked to be hanging out the back of spring. Yeah, man. And looking at the business end of summer. You're staring at it right down the barrel, aren't you? Right down the barrel. You're looking at it. Spring's behind me. Yeah, man.
1:05Oh, it's so good. You're about to gobble it up. How good. Yeah, man. That vitamin D.
1:10Keyzie:Oh, man, I'm getting so much D in me at the moment, it's not funny.
1:15Jase:I thought your mood is lifted, because I find that when you're not getting any D, Yes. your mood really, it dips off, doesn't it? It goes off a cliff. Hell yeah, mate. It turns into a hur of a mood.
1:26Keyzie:If there's D out there, I'll take it. You know what I'm saying? Ah, strutting around in my little shorties there at home, getting a bit of D. It's bloody good, isn't it? It is really good. Speaking of good, hey, Mogi, what's coming up on the show, man?
1:43Jase:What's happening on The Big Show with old Mogi? As usual, we've got the biggest competitions in the entire world. Today we'll be announcing the winners of Best Seats on the Boundary. That is when you could get the opportunity to come along and sit with us on the boundary at the Black Clash in January 2026. Keep your phone on. We'll be calling a winner a little later on in the show. Also, we'll be having a little bit of CV chat. And just prick your ears up there. Have a little think about the times that you've lied on your CV in order to get a job. And old Mogey, I'll be chatting a little bit later on about potentially finding a new way to get around the city.
2:20Jase:I'm going to be purchasing a bicycle. Bicycle moogie You like bicycles, Jase? No, I hate them Can't reach the pedals, eh? Yeah, it needs training wheels, eh? Yeah, yeah, yeah
2:31Keyzie:And they hurt my arse Yeah, yeah You know what I mean? I'd rather just get D instead Hey, let's get to the tune, shall we? He's reading it with his glasses Yeah, Rage Against the Machine What a way to kick off a Monday The Hauraki Big Show Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki Arctic Monkeys there on the radio Oh, Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time is 12 minutes past four o 'clock. But right now it's time for some breaking news.
3:02This is breaking news. Huge news, fellas. As of the 30th of September, Statistics New Zealand released the official new population of New Zealand. Guess what it is?
3:19Keyzie:5.2 mil wrong 5.33 million wow okay so we're growing we're growing at a rapid pace well done one thing I noticed though is that the the population is broken into 2 ,649 ,000 males 2 ,685 ,000 females wow which means there are 36 ,000 more females in the world than there are males in the world now you're talking in New Zealand sorry not the world. Yeah, in New Zealand. So I guess that begs the question, what do we think of that? I'm going to say, what question does it beg, Keezy? It just begs the question, what do we think of that?
4:00Jase:Right. Well, I guess it can be interesting in all sorts of different ways. I guess mainly it depends on the age bracket because a lot of people out there would be thinking, well, if it's a numbers game and I'm looking for love, as a male, the numbers are going to be in my favour. Yeah. Not taking into account gay people because that won't work. Yeah, yeah. Okay, and mostly lesbians on that side. Yeah. That'll take a few out. Then, of course, there's the older generation as well. Yes. So you want to be, you know, if you're a young and upcomer, you want to sort of be looking at the 20 to 35, 40 sort of a bracket, don't you, Keezy?
4:33Jase:Me. I know you operate a bit older than that. Yeah, so how do you convert that, Jase? You know, how are you putting that to work?
4:40Keyzie:Well, first and foremost, you know, I mean, in terms of older people, They still like to shag.
4:45Jase:Oh, they love it.
4:46Keyzie:And you know what? And I don't know if this is statistically correct, but it is my belief, rightly or wrongly, that women outlive men. Yes, that's right. About eight years. So my vibe is that maybe it's at the older end of the scale as opposed to your hello end of the scale. We need to know those numbers.
5:06Jase:That makes a big difference. Right, okay. So let's just say half of them are at the older end of the scale and the other half are in the hello end of the scale. That's still 18 ,000 females.
5:18Keyzie:I think you saying off air, Kesey, that you regret getting married was a bit on the nose. Well, no, no, what I said was I regret getting married on Auckland anniversary weekend. Oh, okay, yeah. Yeah, because now every anniversary weekend is like my anniversary. It's just a bit weird. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But you saying off air, Jase, that you massively regret getting married for this exact reason, that was crazy. Yeah, I know. I mean, especially that I got married like 28 years ago. What, when you were 11? For this very reason, these figures that were released in September this year. Well, basically what I'm saying is there are 36 ,000 lonely females out there.
5:53Keyzie:Also, am I right in saying, as a generalisation, that a lot of women, there is a vibe out there, there's just no good men around.
6:03Jase:There is that. I was reading an article about that as well, Jason. A lot of them think that New Zealand men are emotionally immature. Oh, whatever. Whatever Idiot Jeez But what do you guys think we should do about it? Well I mean Hypothetically speaking Like Jase you're a big fan of Sister Wives That TV show Yeah you could do with another couple of wives couldn't you? Is that something you'd be open to? To like help out Because you said that it's not You said it's not marriage that you don't like so much That you're against You don't regret getting married because you love marriage It's just the wife side of things So if you had another two or three That you could put to work around the place you were saying and you'd be happy.
6:44Keyzie:I'm open to it. What are your thoughts, New Zealand? How do you feel about that divide? Men and women, we want your opinions on 3483. Or give us a call on 0800-HAURAKI. The Clash. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Def Leppard there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time is 23 minutes past four o 'clock. And we had some breaking news in the first break there. Basically, population statistics, fellas. That's right. 5.33 million people in New Zealand now. And there are 36 ,000 more women in New Zealand than there are men.
7:26Yeah. And so this big discussion. Yeah. Purely hypothetically, fellas. Yes. If it were legal, having another wife, would you be open to it?
7:38Jase:That's a good question. Certainly. Certainly. Have you ever thought about it before? If it was legal, why is it illegal?
7:44Keyzie:Isn't it illegal? Yes, I believe it is illegal, yes. Why would that be?
7:47Jase:If I've got the opportunity to make upwards of five, ten women the happiest women in the world, surely that should be okay. Why are they not allowed to be happy by being married to a stallion like you? Yeah, no. Do we know? Fair point. So why should they be denied? Well, hey, man, I'll help your campaign to change the rules.
8:08Keyzie:Can I also chuck in there that woman could have more than one husband? Yes, but the population. Yeah, given the population, that's going to be a bigger ask, isn't it?
8:16Jase:It is. You know what I mean? But as a general chat, yes, how do you feel about either, I think? Otherwise, it's discriminating. Yes. I think we should be open to that. So would you want more than one husband, Jase?
8:26Keyzie:Oh, more than one husband? Look, I'd be happy to go. You see, I'd try and equate it out a little bit. Yes. I'd try and even up the numbers. Yes. So I'd be open to three husbands and another wife. Yes. You know what I mean? Thank you. So I'm taking three fellas off the scene.
8:44Jase:100%. And I'm... 100%. Because I think there's certain roles, and we understand this, that you and I, we're not capable of fulfilling. For example, I'm not a good handyman around the house, so I would marry a guy that's really good with his hands. That's me. I wouldn't marry you, Kesey. You're too young. Oh, yeah. Too immature for me. Yeah, my dad's going to his hands. And then I'd have a couple of wives. So I think it'll be really good, actually. You'd have all the bases covered. But what you're describing is you and a handyman and a couple of wives. That's just two couples. No, they're my husbands.
9:19Jase:They're not allowed to go near my wives. I'll smash them. Right, okay. So in this situation, it's not like an all-in situation? No, it's not an all-in. My husbands and my wives. They're all very separate and you get very jealous. They all love me, but they don't love each other. Except as mates.
9:33Keyzie:Can I just clarify from my perspective? Yeah. It's all in for me. Yeah, because you said it's going to be you, three other dudes, and then one woman. And an extra wife. Yeah, yeah. Oh, right, so two wives. Yes. Three husbands. Yes. So it would be like a six-person relationship, and it's all in. It's all in. And absolutely, you make a bloody good point, because I'm not a handyman, mate. No. I don't mind admitting it. So if there's a builder or a trader out there, I'll marry the bastard. are the bastard. Yeah. Make him the happiest man in the world. Yeah, totally. Right. Because I guess in my situation, fellas...
10:11I dress up sexy for him. Yes. Well, you already do. You already do, man. You've got your... What is that seagull shirt on today? I have no idea what's on it. I think, you know, obviously in my situation, you guys, that's your preferences. I'd just go for the extra wife.
10:25Jase:Why? If I had to. That's sexist. What do you mean? That's sexist of you to only say that women are only allowed to come into your relationship. Why are you excluding men? You're a shocking bastard. Because there's more females than there are men? Isn't that what we're discussing? No. Okay, fine, I'll have an extra husband then. Good on you, mate.
10:44Keyzie:Okay, good, because I know you were running for a little while there, Keezy. This isn't a four-year-old reference, is it? A little thing that you were running for a little while there that you made public about the opportunity of a threesome. Oh, yes. This isn't some filthy sort of, you know. Well, that would sort of come into it. Oh, wait. So you'd be all in too? No, because I have to change. Now I've got a husband because I don't want to be sexist. But that's all good. Yeah.
11:13Jase:What? What's wrong with that? Your husband's not allowed in your marital bed now? I've got three bloody husbands, for God's sake. All right, fine. My husband is allowed in my bed. God, I'm glad we sorted that out. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
11:29Keyzie:The Strokes there on the Radio Hauraki. Big show this Monday afternoon. The time is 4.35. Fellas, I'm thinking about getting a bicycle.
11:38Jase:I've got a new office. We've moved our business into a new office, not Hauraki. Yes. Different business. And it's quite close to my house. It's in central Auckland. It's on Custom Street there for people that know that. Custard Street. Custard Street, that's right. Custard Street. And actually, it's right next door to a Rippers, if you know what I'm saying. Oh, wow. And actually, there's another one just around the corner. Not that that's why we got the space. It's just a happy coincidence. Yeah. Anyway, I've decided that I'm going to stop driving in because the parking is unbelievable, the prices on the parking.
12:13Jase:And you can't find one anyway. And if you did, it cost you a bomb. So I'm going to start. I thought, what about if I start riding a bicycle?
12:23Jase:Would you guys ride a bicycle around? I'm just waiting because the thing is I don't want to look uncool. Right. Not that that's possible, but is it possible? It depends. Will you have a massive helmet? I've got a massive helmet. Yeah, so you'll have that out? Well, I mean, not out. On? Will you wear a helmet? Oh. It depends what kind of helmet. It would need to be for a start.
Read the full transcript
12:45Keyzie:Massive? Yeah, I mean, have you seen his noggin? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It is a huge nut he's running there.
12:52Jase:I mean, it's a massive nut. That's my huge nut. What kind of helmet are you thinking, first of all? Well, this is the thing. The first thing I was thinking was I don't want to have a helmet at all when I'm riding a bicycle. And then I remembered that what happens if I get run over and I hit my head on the concrete? Correct. I don't want to be a... Yeah, I know. I think what you've got to do is, because I know you don't like wearing hats and stuff because you need your signature mogi hairdo. No, that's right, my signature helmet. That's right, or your signature helmet. So what you've got to do, I think you're just going to say it's safety-wise.
13:23I'm doing it for my family. and buy a full-face sort of BMX-style one with a little visor thing on it too.
13:29Keyzie:And also, if you're not running a helmet, you run the chance of losing your hair hat. Yes. So that will make sure that you blow away the wind. You don't want to turn up to work and not be wearing a helmet and your hair's been blown skewer and you're in a big meeting and it's all sideways.
13:46Jase:It's been blown off completely and I've got to retrace my steps on my bicycle. Yeah. So I guess I reckon one of those full-face helmets and then obviously the next question is a full-face helmet. Oh, right. Like a BMX, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then the next question is what kind of bike? Because are you thinking BMX, Moggy? Yeah, I think so. BMX? Yeah, BMX like Matthew Ridge used to ride around shirtless. I could start doing that.
14:10Keyzie:Yeah, well, you've got the body for it. You know what I'm saying? I mean, you're cut. All right. My only concern there was there could be traffic incidents. Oh, there would be. People will be absolutely craning their necks. Yeah, totally. Who's the goober with the full-face helmet and his shirt off on a BMX? My only other concern in this regard is what your fitness level is at. Oh, it's low. In terms of aerobically. I know you fit in terms of strength.
14:39Jase:Sure. Aerobically? I think it'll come back to me eventually, you know what I mean? It's not that far. We're talking about a few Ks there. I mean, technically I could walk, but I hate walking. Yeah. Would you put pegs on your BMX? Pegs? Pegs. Pegs. Oh, you mean so I can do some freestyling on the way to... Some grinds and stuff, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, there actually is a skate park on the way, so I could do some grinds and sort of some nose hops and all that sort of stuff. Nose hops, you'd be good at that. Pop a few wheelies, et cetera, et cetera. So I guess there's a million ways for me to look and be cool.
15:12Jase:Yeah. I was just sort of thinking that maybe it would make me less cool, but it sounds like not. Well I think with the full face helmet The BMX with the pegs on it Shirtless Spokey dokies Are they like the little things you put on your spokes? A little bell on the front
15:27Keyzie:Oh a basket
15:28Jase:I need a basket yeah to take my lunch and that in with me Or you can have a backpack on I will have my backpack on as well Mud flaps And then you'll need a little bit of a torch on the front In case I have to ride around at night Yeah I think that's a good idea
15:43Keyzie:Yeah I'm 100 % into it. Cheers, fellas. Bicycle moogie.
15:51Jase:I'm going to have a look on old Trade Me there and see what I can track down, fellas.
15:56Keyzie:Well, let us know how you get on, man. Oh, well. We'll post it on Insta. Oh, choice. There's Kings of Leon. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Aerosmith there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time is 4.48. Let's talk some TV. What's on the telly with Mike Minogue?
16:29Jase:Yes. Fellas, I watched at Keezy's recommendation, the first episode of Traitors. Oh, UK celebrity. Yeah, it has a whole bunch of different celebrities on there. Some I've heard of, some not. and I don't think I can keep going because two reasons, Kesey. You're probably right. You gave it a five-star review. Best reality TV show. For a reality show, yeah. Best reality TV show I've ever seen. They're kind of like superhero movies. I just can't watch them. They're just not for me and what they spend a lot of time doing is playing creepy music but not going anywhere with anything. There's a lot of buggering around.
17:07That's what I said when I watched the first episode. I was like, there's a whole lot of BS sprinkled on this thing that you just have to buy into. Right. Because the first episode and the second episode, I struggled with it still. But then after that, you're away.
17:17Jase:Okay, I'll flick it onto the third episode. I'm going to try it because I was just skipping through going, okay, this is just boring. There's no point. Well, no, I'm skipping through because there's so much. They're just wasting my time telling me boring stuff and playing scary music and shit. It's like I'm not three. Just put the show on. So if you found the same thing in the first episode. Not so much that I needed to skip through it. I feel like there's no point. Right. I don't know. Okay, so the first two episodes were like that, you're saying. For me, but then I just accepted it. Oh, so it's still the...
17:52It doesn't stop, no. Okay, great, all right.
17:53Jase:Well, then I'll give it a miss. Zero stars for me. And can I just say, I've had four messages from people saying it was a great recommendation. Great. So it depends who you are. Oh, 100%. And that's the thing for me. It's just I can't do reality TV. Yep, fair enough. Yeah. Fellas.
18:09Keyzie:It's on three now. I've started watching a series on Netflix called The Beast in Me with Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys. And here's the basic premise. Author Aggie Wiggs has receded from public life since the death of her young son, unable to write a ghost of her former self, but she finds an unlikely subject for a new book when the house next door is bought by Niall Jarvis. Now, Niall Jarvis is an uber-rich psychopath, basically, who in the past has been accused of murdering his wife, but he got away with it. Right. And did he do it? Did he? Now, I've got to say, very good. It's a very good drama, thriller.
19:06Keyzie:Claire Dane, she almost specialises in stressed-out characters. Remember Homeland and all that sort of stuff? And I like her as an actor. And the storyline's pretty good, and there's quite a few unexpected twists. Niall Jarvis has a father who is even worse than he is. It's a good, solid drama, and I'll give it 3.2 buzzies. That's great. My TV recommendation today comes from my wife. I spent the weekend in Tauranga working on my motorbike and playing golf. And she was at home and she just had a chill weekend and got obsessed with a TV show she was watching called The Test. It's about the Australian cricket team.
19:47Jase:Oh, yeah, it's good. That's on Prime Video. On Prime Video. She watched six episodes. Wow. Which is huge. And she's like, I'm just obsessed with it. It was released after the Sandpaper Gate. And it's about them trying to restore, you know, what is it, mana in the Aussie jersey. I think there's a couple of seasons now. I've seen the first season, which is that one. It's very good. Yeah, yeah. And I said, how many buzzies out of five? Yeah. She said, I hate that you call it buzzies. Yeah, sure. I said, sorry, how many stars out of five? She said four. Oh, what's that in buzzies? Then I said, is that four buzzies out of five?
20:15And she said, no, don't call them buzzies.
20:17Jase:Okay. So she gives it four buzzies out of five. And that's on Watch Prime.
20:21Keyzie:Four buzzies out of five from Gacy's wife. She binge watched it about the Aussie cricket team, six episodes. She loved it.
20:26Jase:Yeah, really good. It's up there with the Ben Stokes documentary, Jase, which I know you enjoyed. You recommend, Jase, to watch that in the first year of this TV show? It was a long time ago. This radio show, yeah. It was a long time ago.
20:34Keyzie:And boy, I'm glad you did. It's an absolute doozy. What platform is it on? Here's Pink Floyd. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. 21:33Keyzie:Great stuff coming up after 5 o 'clock. If you entered our best seat on the boundary for the Black Clash competition, make sure you've got your phone on you after 5 o 'clock. Also, I went to my wife's work due on Saturday night. A little chit-chat about that because my wife gave me a genius idea that saved my ass. No. I also want to call a show meeting. Oh. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki. Dear welcome back you massive backbones, you are listening to The Big Show brought to you by Reburger. Handcrafted beer gears, loaded fries and gourmet eats that'll change the game.
22:14Yum.
22:26Keyzie:Yum. If I was sitting with someone that was eating like that, that would irritate me. Would it? Yes. What if it was Reburger? I mean, even if it was Reburger and they're doing that, I'd be fuming. What if it was your wife? Fuming. Right. You know what I mean? What if it was me? I'd probably just deck you. Bring it on, sucker.
22:51Jase:Do you hate eating noises, Moggy? Doesn't really bother me. It depends how much people are taking the piss, but yeah. Not like Jace. I mean, I'm not a, you know. Because it's one of those things, it's like there are certain people that get triggered by it. Yeah. Whereas I don't give a crap. The popcorn in the movie theater thing.
23:05Keyzie:Yeah, no, it definitely triggers me. Actually, Pugs was making a very good point the other day about how when he's trying to eat and people are talking to him, And he's got a mouthful of food and people are expecting an answer. And he used to sit there chewing and finishing his mouthful before he can actually answer the question. And that gets deep, deep inside his goat, he was saying.
23:28Jase:The trick is you just talk back to them with your mouth full. Yeah, I guess so. Just spit it all over them. You know what you could do is just go, oh, sorry, spit it onto your hand, answer the question, then put it back in your mouth. That's a great idea.
23:39Keyzie:I like that, Koozie. That's good. I'm going to start doing that. You masticated meal. Yeah. Hey, plenty coming up this hour. So make sure you have your phone on, by the way, for the best seat on the boundary for the Black Clash next year. But in the meantime, here's Soundgarden. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. The exponents there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time is 13 minutes past five. Let's talk sport.
24:11Jase:Ah, yeah.
24:16Jase:What do you want to chat about first, the All Blacks? Do you want to vent for four minutes about rugby, man?
24:22Keyzie:Well, I was saying to you off air, wasn't I, Moggy? Read the All Blacks. Excuse me. Debacle. And there's two things about the All Blacks for me. And one is that I'm no clearer now about what their plan of attack is in terms of what their game plan is. From the start of the season to the end of the season, and I still don't know what their game attack is. Also, I wouldn't have a clue who the top 15 are. I'm no more clear about that than I was, as you were saying, two seasons ago. I don't know what's going on. Our attack is horrendously bad.
24:59Jase:Yeah.
24:59Keyzie:And as you pointed out, we stole so much possession off them, and they still gave us a hiding.
25:05Jase:I think we got about seven or eight lineouts off them, which is a huge amount of possession to be taken off a team. And so in that area, we're tickety-boo. But yeah, the attack really can only be described as aimless. And you would think that there would be some kind of development in that area. But there doesn't seem to be. So I don't know what's going on. I know that there's certainly the talent in the team. And I think that's pretty much what seems to be getting us through. Having said all that, I've got no idea what's going on behind the scenes. Wouldn't have a bloody clue. All I know is they're certainly not playing to their potential.
25:40Jase:because they're a hell of a lot better side than what we're seeing.
25:43Keyzie:We're middle of the pack now, no question about it. And my prediction is we're going to see some more coaching changes. Two people have already left the team. I'm predicting more.
25:55Jase:Well, surely you need to be looking at the attack, certainly in the backs, and just saying, well, there's nothing happening. It's a very telling thing. My family are very much Rugby Union P1 fans. Doesn't matter what's going on, they will watch it. They will consume your product. My dad watched a bit of the second half of the game and didn't watch the rest of it. Right. And my brother, who loves it too, die hard, was just like, oh, I saw the score and was just like, no, I'm not even going to bother. Yeah, right. And I was like, why is that? You know, just because we lost. He's like, no, just because it's been so hard to watch lately.
26:24And it is. It's the first time that has ever happened. Yeah.
26:27Keyzie:Speaking of which, let's talk about the cricket. The one day yesterday, New Zealand scraping home in the end. They have to do something about the over eights. It is tediously slow. they've got to have some meaningful punishments and they were suggesting on air yesterday literally, you know, if you're two or three if you're an over behind the right you lose a fielder from the side Right If you're two overs, you lose two fielders What if you're three overs? Three overs, you lose three fielders It's just ridiculously it's ridiculous how elongated the games have become What if you're four overs? Four!
27:03Fielders? Yes Wow Yeah Because it's stupid, it's just way too slow Well, we've had a gut's ache about the rugby and the cricket. How was the UFC?
27:12Jase:UFC yesterday, UFC 322 was bloody good, actually. It was a great card. There was lots of knockouts. The main two events were Valentina Shevchenko events, Weili Zhang. Zhang went up a division to fight Shevchenko, two of the best fighters to ever do it, male or female, and it was just a huge size difference. since Valentina Shevchenko took Wayli apart with absolutely no trouble whatsoever across five rounds. And Islam Makachev did the same, went up a division to welterweight and took apart the champ, Jack Della Madalena. Did not lose a round, absolutely smashed him to bits. He is now tied for the most consecutive wins in UFC history at 16.
27:55Jase:That guy's going to win 30 fights. He is an absolute weapon. People complain because he's a big wrestler. He has a lot of stuff on the ground, so people hate it because it's not action-packed. That is the nature of the beast, man. That is what UFC is. It's mixed martial arts, so too bad. I love him. He's a very funny guy, and I don't think anyone's going to beat him for a long, long period. So he specializes in BJJ. He does. He's a bit of a BJJ guy, but certainly a wrestling dude. He is from Dagestan, a very small village in Dagestan. He is with Khabib, who smashed over Conor McGregor. Khabib's father trained all these kids that grew up in this small village.
28:31Jase:it's given like seven or ten Olympic champions out of a village of like 400 or something ridiculous. These guys are just on a completely different level. What did you watch, Keezy? I watched the cricket, actually. I sat and watched the entire, well, most of the second over and the end of the first, most of the second innings and the end of the first innings of the blackcaps with my parents who don't watch cricket. Right. So they've gone from rugby into cricket now. It's very interesting. Good God. It is interesting. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki
29:07Keyzie:Sublime there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show This Monday afternoon at time 25 minutes past 5 o 'clock Fellas over the weekend there was the big lotto draw right Largest ever 55 mil Damn it Did you buy a ticket? I forgot Oh man Damn it I did Same here It was split between 3 lots I think it was 18 mil each or something they get which is pretty damn good. Now, I bought the ticket on my phone, on the app there, and it does this thing where it shows you whether you've won. It plays it out for you one after the other, the ball's come out. I haven't actually looked at it yet because I'm waiting to do that tonight with my wife.
29:43Right, okay, yeah. And we're going to watch it together.
29:46Keyzie:Right, cool. You're not going to stop it halfway and watch the rest tomorrow night, are you? How long is it? I don't know. I don't have that phone. How many lines did you get? How many lines did I get? Yeah. $25, whatever that is.
30:00Jase:Yeah, okay. Oh, money bucks. Oh, money bucks. Money bucks Keezy. What the hell's money bucks? Oh, money bucks Keezy. I like it. That's good, man. It's got a ring to it. So, yeah, I bought a$25 ticket, whatever that is, and I haven't checked it yet, but I'm pretty sure I've won. Yeah. So all I'm saying is when I check it tonight and I find out I did win, I'll be thinking of you guys, and if there is anything you guys want, you will be looked after, let's just say. Oh, okay. Nice. So is there anything, you know? Because obviously the first thing I'm doing is quitting here.
30:31Keyzie:Quitting time. This is on the public record now. Yeah. So if you have one, then I will quit. When you say you'll look after us. Ush.
30:42Jase:When you say. When Money Bucks Keezy says I'll look after us.
30:49Keyzie:Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. Yes.
30:51Jase:Does that mean that you're going to give us some cash? Cash. Yeah, no, what I won't give you cash, Mogi, what I'll give you is basically I'll just say, hey, is there something you want? Oh, yeah, there is. And then I'll do it. I'll do it. I'll buy it for you. Well, in that case, there is. What is it? A boat. Yes. Okay, well, I mean, obviously I'm not going to buy you like a super yacht or anything stupid like that or a launch. Well, why not, you stingy bastard? Well, no, because most of this is. For all that talk. I reckon. Well, no, I'll buy you a boat. Okay, look. You know what he is? He's all mouth.
31:27Keyzie:Yes, he is. Massively all mouth. Okay. My wife and I are looking to move out of our house. How about just a little apartment in town? I buy you an apartment? Yes. In town? Yes. Yeah, okay. I'll pick it though. Yep, done. Lock it in. I can do that. That's not bad. I'll do that. That's not bad.
31:46Jase:Yeah, yeah, good. Moggy, what do you want? I'm looking around at bicycles, remember? Because I'm, you know, I'm so excited to bicycle to work and bicycle into the radio. Yeah. So I could do with a bicycle. Buy a bicycle? Yeah, and a new office. A new office. Yeah, that'll be great. Well, you're just renting one, right? Yeah, yeah. So if I could have my own, that'll be much easier. I could have it closer to home. In fact, if you build me a house that's got a studio in it, that'll make it easier. And then I don't need the bike. You can save money on the bike. Yeah, good point. Don't worry about the bike, man.
32:12Keyzie:Actually, while you're on it, before we move out, we need to get our deck fixed up. So if you could get that sorted too, Keezy, that'd be good. Just the big back deck? She's a whore of a mess. I don't know, I've never been to your house. I've got to get that sorted. All right, well, look, I mean, I can't promise all of these things. For example, Mogi, definitely going to get you that bike, mate. Thanks, man. And JC, I can help with your deck. But let's just say when it comes in, leave it with old Bikizi, all right? Old money bucks. Old Bikizi? Kizi's got to look after us. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
32:54Keyzie:Cool jam there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. Now, we've been running an extraordinary competition on the Big Show, haven't we, fellas? Best seat on the boundary. That's right. It's the opportunity to sit with us on the boundary of the Hot Spring Spa T20 Black Clash in association with Wolfbrook. It's happening in the bay this time in beautiful Mount Maunganui at the Bay Oval, January 17th. We will be there. We're starting to figure out what it's going to look like on the sideline there on the boundary. Some big plans. Mogi's going to be in his Speedos. Pugs is going to be wearing a cool hat.
33:27So there's a lot of things happening. I'll be commentating. Yeah, you'll be commentating, Jase.
33:33Keyzie:I don't like to get near the filth too much, if you know what I mean, fellas, but you guys will certainly look after them. We'll be down there,
33:39Jase:and it's absolutely one of the greatest events on the calendar. Since the absence of the Sevens down there in Wellington, I've got to say the Black Clash has really taken over as a destination sports event for both animals and the whole family. You getting your nips out, Keezy? Wow, we'll wait and see how we go, man. Okay, yeah, yeah. But the prize that we are about to call the winner of is pretty massive. It includes flights for you and a mate, thanks to Air New Zealand's Grab a Seat. We'll fly from anywhere in the country up to Tauranga there. You'll spend a night at the Trinity Wharf Tauranga, which is a fantastic hotel, coincidentally.
34:09That's where we are also staying. Oh, yeah. So we'll probably bump into each other there. Oh, yeah.
34:13Keyzie:No, carry on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then you'll have access to sit with Team Hauraki right on the boundary in front of the sold-out ACC Export Ultra Zone. There will be free drinks and food and all sorts of stuff. It is the best seats in the house. Yeah, boy. Yeah, let's do it, man. All right, let me just type it in here. Doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot. Doot. All right.
34:35Jase:Doot, doot. Oh, no, just doot. Andrew speaking.
34:41Keyzie:Yeah, g'day, Andrew. It's old hoity Jay Mogey and Keezy from The Big Show. How are you going, you mad bastard?
34:48Jase:I'm doing bloody well, fellas. How are you?
34:50Keyzie:Yeah, good, thanks, mate. Good, good, good. You're surviving your Monday afternoon there, Andrew? Yeah, yeah, just getting by, mate. Just better be careful at the timber supplies, please. Yeah, don't say too much. Yeah, okay. Don't say too much. Speaking of what, Andrew, what do you do for a crust? I'm operations manager for a plumbing farm. Oh, backbone. Yeah, backbone. Tell me, Andrew, you like your cricket? Love my cricket. Oh, how good. Well, the great news for you, my friend, is that you and a mate are joining the big show on the sideline of the Black Clash. How are you feeling about that?
35:29You're joking.
35:30Keyzie:No, mate. All true. Oh, good. Oh, bloody good. It is amazing, Andrew. You'll get to bring a mate with you. We'll be flown, thanks to Air New Zealand's Grabberseat. You'll be staying in the same hotel as us, the Trinity Wharf. It is an amazing place to stay and an amazing event to be a part of as well, mate. Who are you going to bring with you? Oh, jeez. It's probably going to have to be a fight to the death. Yeah, I think so. That's a man's dance kind of scenario, I reckon. I like it. I like it, Andrew. Well, congratulations, mate. You stay on hold and look forward to seeing you in Jan. Bloody good.
36:02Thanks very much, guys. Good on you, mate. Good on you, you massive backbone.
36:06Jase:He sounds like a nice fellow, doesn't he? Really nice guy. He really does. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. And while the ACC Export Ultra Zone might have sold out there, Keezy, You can still get tickets for other areas at blackclash.co.nz. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
36:28Keyzie:ACDC there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time is 5.46. Fellas, I got a slightly concerning text from my wife about five or ten minutes ago, and she texted me, are you guys all G? Question mark, question mark, question mark. Meaning all three of us. All three of us. Right. Why is that? And at the beginning of the show, someone also texted in to you, I believe, Mogi, or to all of us, are you guys all G? Oh, yes. What's going on? Do people think that we're not all G? I think, and I was talking to pugs about this, I think we sound like we're drunk. because we can't say basic words and stuff properly.
37:12Keyzie:Okay. So he went back to, obviously we just gave away that great prize to Andrew, great New Zealander, who will be coming to the Black Clash with us. The break before that was just riddled with just gibberish. For example, Pugs has put this together. Money Bucks. Oh, Money Bucks. Money Bucks Keezy. When you say you'll look after us.
37:33Jase:Us. When you say. When Money Bucks Keezy says I'll look after us. Well, they're... Let's just say when it comes in, leave it with old Bikisi, all right? Old money bucks. Old Bikisi? Old Bikisi. So I don't know what's going on. What was funny with old Bikisi was we immediately pulled you up on that after the break and you denied it. Well, I was like, no, I didn't. I know you did. So that's the trouble is we're making mistakes and we don't even know that we're making them. And when I say we, I mean you guys.
38:02Keyzie:Yeah, yeah. I mean, I sound off my head. Let's be fair. You do. Especially the... But in the middle. But the issue is, the issue is with this, especially with live radio, as soon as you do one of those, you're really worried about doing it again, which makes them happen. Yeah, it's like a virus. It is just like a virus. Like before I worked with you, Keezy, I never made a mistake in my life. Oh, really? Excuse me, the name is Bikese. Oh, sorry, Bikese. Thank you, Moneybuck's Bikese. Just want to say we're sorry and our standards will be raised.
38:34Jase:Or they might go off a cliff because we're getting towards the end of the year now. Yeah, that's my concern, to be honest. We won't have to chat about that tomorrow, actually. I'm concerned about our content. Here's David Bowie. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
38:51Keyzie:Tom Petty there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. Hey, fellas, November 29th at Sweatshop Brew Kitchen in Auckland is the World Series of Kiwi Pong. It's every single year. We get a whole lot of teams of two. All of them have great team names. They all have outfits and costumes and things. And then they battle it out to see who is the best in New Zealand at Kiwi Pong. Wow. A.K.A. throwing ping pong balls into cups full of liquid. Who wins? Well, the best team. Oh, okay. And the good news is, because the best team, you have to start in this massive open tournament and you sort of whittle it down to one team.
39:27The final is full of pressure. It's commentated usually by the ACC, live streamed as well. And the winning team will win$10 ,006.
39:35Jase:I believe we had a couple of plumbers won it a few years back. Is that about right? No. They were over here in the NZME building. Now we're talking heaps of smack against all of the other teams. And then they did dominate. They dominated. Ended up winning and then took it over the road to the casino.
39:49Keyzie:Straight away and blew it all, which was pretty funny. Because it was literally a suitcase of cash. It was. Am I right in saying that those guys won two years in a row? Yes, and they've never been seen since. Oh, interesting. They took that money and told their boss to shove it. Yeah. Now, you've entered, haven't you, Keezy? You and Minaya. Myself and Minaya from the Brekkie Show are a team. I think we're Team Hodaki or some sort of –
40:14Jase:Oh, that's a snappy name. No, I think we're named – Team Bikizi. Pong Jovi. Oh, Bikizi and Binaya. Is that what it is? No, it's Pong Jovi, as chosen by the office team there. Right. They thought of a pun, submitted it, and then said, hey, you and Minaya are playing in the tournament, which is great. I'm hopeless at Kiwi Pong. but hopefully I can dominate and get that$10 ,006. It's all thanks to SoBear which are gummies you take after a night out. You can wake up fresh thanks to SoBear. But if you're keen, it is completely sold out but there are two team spots available, two teams of two. Head to hauraki.co.nz.
40:51Get yourself in the draw there with one of your mates and dominate at Kiwi Pong.
40:54Keyzie:Plenty coming up after six.
40:59The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
41:05Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're surviving your Monday evening. You're listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburg Year. Serving good times and good food. Dine in or take away Reburg Year today. Reburg Year.
41:22Jase:Mmm. That makes me want Reburger. It does. Because that guy gets it. You know, he gets it. He knows what it is to eat a cheeseburger from Reburger. You can hear it. Can I hear that again? Oh, yeah. Hang on. Reburger. Yeah.
41:37Keyzie:It's so deep. I wish that was my voice. That sounds like someone that's just eaten a whole heap of Reburger and has that contentment in their body. You know what I mean? It is weird, too. I don't know what it is about Reburger, but after you eat it, your voice warps. Right. My wife's voice went higher. So she was like, oh, my God, Reburger, yeah. Whereas mine went low. was like, oh, Reburger. Right. It's a weird thing, isn't it? Yeah. What does yours do? No, nothing.
42:06Jase:It just stays the same because it's already really deep. Yeah, I've never heard of that at all. I haven't yet.
42:10Keyzie:My name. I mean, my voice. Your what? My voice just stays the same. And your name, does that stay the same? Sam, was that still happening when you were making love afterwards? Yeah. You were like, Reburger. Yeah, because I plugged Reburger. Yeah, yeah. We plugged Reburger during our lovemaking. It is crave-worthy. What is? The lovemaking. Do you like Foo Fighters? Yes, I do. Oh. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Queens of the Stone Age there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday evening. Now, fellas, we're all pretty busy and, you know, the year's beginning to wrap up.
42:54Keyzie:There's a lot going on and one of the things that I'm desperately missing in my life at the moment is golf. I haven't played for nearly two weeks now. What the hell? That I was getting up to sort of two or three times a week there, Mogi, for a while. So I'm really, really hankering for a good old whack. And it's looking like maybe next Wednesday, Kesey, will be my first opportunity. Yeah, well, I've actually played quite a few times. Yes. Without you, it's been great. Not that it hasn't been great without you. The golf's been great. Yeah. I've been shit. Has the golf been great? No, no, no, terrible.
43:27But it's just great.
43:28Keyzie:Yeah, being out in the sun. having to walk, having to smack around.
43:31Jase:You still get to wear your Wilson hat though, man. You've still got your golf hat.
43:34Keyzie:I just grab a hat in the morning. I don't know what's on it. You know what I mean? Just to get rid of my beard here.
43:40Jase:Sure you don't. I don't think that's true because I even, as soon as, because Matty, the guy who hit the hole in one for the ACC a couple of weeks ago, he works for Wilson. He sent us a whole lot of free stuff. Very nice. And it's like, I bet Horty J will be welded to that Wilson hat now. Yeah. That's a good set. It's a great hat. You know what I mean? Look at him. Look at him go.
43:57Keyzie:Welded to it. It's welded. Hey, but anyway, Movember, very important month. And we want you to be a part of the Swingers Club, some backbones out there to join either the big show or the breakfast show and come and have a whack around. That's right. Have you ever played golf and supported Movember at the same time? No. I think I might have with the ACC once or twice. Movember, of course, improving men's health, improves life for everyone, women, families, and communities. Don't wait. Donate now at nz.movember.com. But if you are keen to come and play golf with us, we're going to be playing next week Windross Farm Golf Course, which is up in Auckland.
44:34It's drivable from anywhere in the North Island. Drivable. Hey. Oh. I meant in a car. Oh, right. So we're keen to have you come and play. As we said, it's me and Jase versus Jeremy Wells and Minaya Stewart. They need two teammates. We need two teammates. If you're keen to come and play and jump on either, grab a mate and head to hodaki.co.nz. Get yourself in the drawers. It's all in support of Movember.
44:58Jase:How good. How good. And I noticed they've got another thing running, old Movember there, where if you swear on the course, every time you swear, you owe a dollar to the Movember cause. Is it a dollar? It's a dollar, yeah. I think that's a bloody good one. And then the other thing that you could do, I thought, is donate a dollar every time you swear when doing renovations of any kind. That's a great idea as well. Don't make a bloody fortune off you, Keezy.
45:20Keyzie:Yeah, I was going to say, Keezy, you'd be a shocker on the goal. You'd have to go into one of your special accounts. I don't swear on the golf course, Jase. You know I'm chill. Here's Bush. Your ball's always in the bush. The Hodaki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hodaki. Rolling Stones there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this Monday evening. Let's give out a bit of advice. Meet Paddy Nip 69. At gmail.com. Get in touch with the feels. Fellas, it's a real email address, and it's an email address that is looking a bit empty, fellas, I'm going to be honest. We've had plenty of questions come in over the months.
46:02It's been very successful. However, it's starting to dry up a wee bit.
46:06Keyzie:Drill up a bit? I was picturing a well, and then I said, It's got no water in it. It could be geesey that people are just going along very nicely, thank you very much, and they don't need advice. I doubt it.
46:16Jase:I think what's happened is that there's a bunch of people out there that, listen, have got a lot of problems, and they were sending a lot of emails, but now they can only get one Reburger voucher, so they thought, oh, bugger it. So they're only doing it for the Reburger. They're only really doing it for the Reburger, but at the same time, it did provide us with something to talk about. And it doesn't mean that they didn't have a lot of problems.
46:37Keyzie:And if that's what you're doing, you've got problems.
46:40Jase:You've got problems. If you're eating that much Reburger, that you're completely addicted to Reburger, send us an email about your addiction. We've all been there. Yeah, totally, man.
46:49Keyzie:And, you know, to be fair, if I was doing bugger all and on the dole or something and big fan of the show, I'd probably make up something to get a$50 Reburger voucher. Can you imagine how good that would be? No, hang on. We're encouraging people to just get in the draw for Reburger vouchers, which you get, by the way, if we read your question out on the show. It's more about helping people. I feel like we're misleading everybody. It's about do you have an issue? We're here to solve it. We will help you solve it. Yeah.
47:14Jase:But you get a$50 Reburger. Oh, yeah. As a bonus. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's mainly the first thing.
47:18Keyzie:I think what Mogi's saying, Kesey, is that people are only doing it to get the$50 Reburger voucher. And, you know, the people that have sent in the emails, you're losers. Well, don't think calling them losers is a good idea. Generally now, they've already got there and they know they're not going to get another one. So they've gone, oh, I'm going to stop. So you don't think, so what you, I think what Jase is trying to say, Mogi, is he thinks that you think that there's no one in the world that needs genuine advice. It's just Reburger voucher people.
47:47Jase:What I'm saying is while there are people out there that need help, the people that are enthusiastic emailers tend to be people who are recidivists and want multiple re-burger vouchers. Right, okay. Now, you're talking about the help being the good part of it. I think it's like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Yes, the pot is good, but the gold is what people are actually after, and the gold is the re-burger vouchers. Right, okay. Yes. So what I think Mogey's trying to say, Jase, is that we need to up the amount of re-burger vouchers we give out.
48:16Keyzie:Sure. I guess so, but then again, we don't want to encourage people just sitting on their asses on the couch there who are losers trying to get something for free and then just sending in emails willy-nilly purely for the reason of getting a Reburger voucher. Just spotted an email. Sorry, there is one. Here we go. G'day, guys. Anonymous here. When can I expect my$50 Reburger voucher, please? Oh, you never get those. No. They don't exist. Well, no, they do exist. We don't want to tell people they don't exist.
48:47Jase:If they exist, why hasn't this guy received one? Well, this is from someone who asked about his girlfriend's dog. My wife and I have been together for three and a half years. She had a dog before we met, and the dog doesn't like them. Oh, yeah, I remember that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So he got a jar of peanut butter, eh? Yeah, he is. I can't remember, but he hasn't got his voucher yet, so I don't know what... Yeah, well, I know what's happened there. What? We haven't sent it to him because they don't exist. No, they do exist. We'll look into that for you right now, Anonymous, and we'll try to figure something out.
49:13I've never seen one. No, no, we send them straight to the people.
49:17Jase:What do you want to What I'm saying is I haven't seen them So I'm putting two and two together here Keezy I haven't seen them and we're constantly getting emails From people saying they haven't received them Which tells me they don't exist
49:30Keyzie:I've never seen one Either for that matter It's all adding up The Hauraki Big Show With Jase, Mike and Keezy Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki Stone Temple Pilots here on the Radio Hauraki big show this Monday evening. Now, fellas, you'll recall on the Friday I was telling you that I had my wife's staff due to go to on a Saturday night. Yep. Now, first and foremost, I don't like going to parties. Cool. You're so cool, man. What a party. Rock and roll, man. You encapsulate the hodaki vibe. But this was a double whammy because not only was it the staff work due for my wife, it was also dress up.
50:15Jase:Can I say that in this day and age, it is unacceptable to have a dress-up party? Come on. As a work do? To me, it is asking a lot of people to even want to go in the first place, let alone to dress up like a goose. I mean, if you want to - Because what are we? You're like in your late 30s, 50s, 60s. I mean, come on, man. You guys are so boring. And also, you only dress up as a goose if the theme is birds. As goose.
50:42Keyzie:Now, my wife, of course, because she loves to dress up, What? Heaps of people do, yeah, carry on She went as Billie Eilish Billie Eilish Yes Did she look good? She looked great So did she wear like a big baggy sweater or something? She wore all green Cool Green sort of Bay leaf? No, bright sort of neon green She looked rock and roll, man Green like hair as well No, just a green beanie And there's a particular look she had at one period of her life And she replicated it exactly Nice. And I was sitting there that afternoon going, oh. God. God. A, do I have to go? And B, I'm not dressing up. I remember he called me and he's just like, why couldn't the theme be bird shirts?
51:27Yes. You know, and then I've got costumes for Africa. And then I said, you can't say that anymore.
51:31Keyzie:I would have been fine if that were the case, right? Yeah. But in the end she said, oh, you know, just go as yourself. Don't worry about it. It's no biggie. And then she said, hey, I've got an idea. Why don't you go as Rivers Cuomo? Yeah. Who is? the lead singer of Weezer. AKA generic bloke. Yeah, generic bloke. And so I went online and I checked out sort of thinking that he might be quite wacky in his dress sense, but he's just a normal, very average dude.
51:57Jase:He's sort of up your alley in the sense, I think he might wear a blazer with a t-shirt underneath it and he's got the thick black glasses that he wears. Buddy Holly sort of, he looks like Buddy Holly actually. Yes, bang on, Mogi.
52:08Keyzie:And so I was like, my God, that's a genius idea because essentially I could wear whatever I was going to wear anyway. I had those black glasses. I put on my Wilson's cap there and I was like, boom, sweet, I'm done. Plus, you vape so much you would have also been wheezing. Yeah, I was wheezing all over the place. And we arrived, true story, and everyone was like, oh, to my wife, you look amazing, blah, blah, blah. And they were like, who are you, Jase? And I was like, Rivers Cuomo. And I could tell by the look on their eyes they had no idea who he was. So it was the perfect ruse because when they're in that situation, they can't go, well, you don't look anything like Rivers Cuomo.
52:54Keyzie:Because no one knows what he looks like. Because no one knows what he looks like. It was genius. Yeah. I mean, you could have put some effort in and dressed up as something, you know. I put the glasses on. Yeah, but you need those to see. You know, and I just dressed as I normally would dress. What's your favourite Weezer song? Like cool and kind of rocky. you know what I mean Jase Jase what's your favourite Weezer song and it was just I was stoked don't ignore me because you don't know I don't know their songs I'm terrible with titles but you started them every single day I know but I can't think off the top of my head we're about to go to one right now
