Go grousey, you mad dog, you sick son of a bee. You're a filthy bastard, aren't you? I mean, there's something wrong with you. Sick in the head. Sexually. Sexually. Maybe, maybe. Apparently it's the 26th, not the 25th. I want you to look at the sheet there, fellas.

2:22What does it say on the sheet there? What does it say? 25th. Dilly, you're fired. Putting that to the side, though, what's coming up on the show, Mogi?

2:37What's happening on the big show with Old Mogi Well another day another couple of opportunities to get yourself in the draw to go along to magic round when you hear the cue to call call us on 0800 HODAKI There's also a few tips here for power outages Because people are dealing with that at the moment They are We had a shocker a couple of years ago here in Auckland Our house got flooded shock and state of affairs so it's not much fun and just generally today it's going to be a weather special, isn't it? We're going to be talking about weather left, right and centre. A little later on too, we've got a double pass to Shapeshifter.

3:11Shapies, I like to call them. Or Shapies. And a new segment, by the way, fellas. Fruit chat. In the meantime, here's Kings of Leon. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Oasis there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday afternoon. The time is 13 minutes past four o 'clock and fellas, a shocking state of affairs on the weather front here in Auckland City. But we want to send our thoughts and prayers, I guess, out to our brothers and sisters up north. Yeah. It almost feels like a kick in the guts, Chase, because I don't think you believe in God. Well, I was trying to find the word and prayers was the only...

3:54It's just a saying, isn't it? Yeah, it's just a saying. Yeah, thoughts and prayers. Because I know up the far north they're really struggling. They really are. Communities are being cut off, and so we hope you're doing okay. Yeah, that's right. They have declared states of emergency for a week in the far north, in the Whangarei area. A subtropical storm is the cause of all this. They're fearless. And the Western Bay of Plenty all the way up to Auckland, that portion of the North Island, all affected. Can I just say, if you are cut off from the world and you haven't got electricity and you're down to your transistor radio, don't waste your battery life on listening to the big show?

4:26Wow, I mean. Really? No, I reckon it's a good way to keep up today with what's happening. Keep the spirits up. Spirits up, do you think? You know what I think? Well, I think we should probably give some tips. If they're going to be listening to us, then we should be giving them some tips. Oh, certainly we should be. Okay, good. Well, actually, on that, if you have any tips for dealing with a power cut and smart ways to still be able to do stuff and do day-to-day life, text us on 3483. You can win 50 bucks cash. Well, I think one of the tricky things about weather, you know, and I mean, this has just come out of the blue.

4:52Yes. You know what I mean? And people were not expecting it. What do you mean this has come out of the blue? And so, you know... It's literally been predicted for about a week now. It's quite literally come out of the blue. The saying, coming out of the blue, means the great blue sky. It was a blue sky and then boom. And now it's a storm. No, but the way he... It's come out of the blue. It's taken people by surprise, I think. It's taken the world by storm. It's by storm. Certainly the wind factor and all that sort of stuff wasn't factored into what's going on at the moment, that's for sure. Nobody told me in all of the so-called reporting that the wind was going to be so bad that today my umbrella blew inside out.

5:29Mate, well, thank you, Mogi. Look, I'll scroll two or three hours a day on my phone. There was nothing there. You know what I'm saying? Yours is all buzies, man. So I woke up this morning and I was like, where the hell did this come from? Sorry, sorry, fellas. You know what I mean? Fellas, I warned you about this yesterday in What's on the News with Meek Easy. That was in the future. No, no, no, no, no. I said this was literally yesterday. Here, listen to this. All right, we'll get on with it. A subtropical low is forecast to bring two days of stormy weather to Northland. Yeah. And like Auckland and Bay of Plenty as well, the upper North Island is set to get battered for the next couple of days with heavy rain and particularly wind.

6:13So you've gone from telling us things that have happened way in the past to things that are going to happen in the future. I mean, what are we doing? And to rub salt into the gaping wound. She's a gaper. It's a weather forecast. And so I woke up this morning, right? No. And it's pissing down with rain. And I'm like, I go and make my wife a coffee, maybe. Did we have cream for the coffee? No, we didn't. And I was like, oh, good one. I'm going to have to go out down the road, down to the local dairy there, and buy some cream. Can I just say how fortunate I was to be able to go and do that, given what other people are struggling with at the moment?

6:55Did I have an umbrella? No. Did I get piss wet? Yes, I did. Do you hear him complaining about it, Keezy? Yes, right now, on the radio. Backbone. I warned you about this, and you guys completely, it just went over your heads. But when did you warn us about it? During what's on the news with me, Keezy. Well, there you go. You hardly expect us to listen to you during that segment. It's tosh. I totally switch off in those situations, Keezy. Because my brain will rest. Yeah, well, that's my resting sort of period during the show. Yeah, no, fair enough. We're still ironing out the kinks in that segment.

7:23Hey, now, listen. No, seriously, though. As Keezy said, we need your tips. If you've got no power, you know, your tips for getting through it all. Yeah, 3483, text us. Text us if you've got any hacks for when you've got no power. You can win$50 cash thanks to Toledo's.

7:47Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki. Yes, indeed. Nirvana there on the Radio Hauraki. Big show this Thursday afternoon. The time is 4.24. And there's been a bit of a weather event in the North Island, particularly the upper North Island. A lot of people have lost power. So we've got to give out some tips on how to survive when you've lost your power, fellas. 3483. A lot of texts coming through. Keep them coming. Every text in the drawer for$50 cash. I'm going to be honest, 50 % of them can't really read out on the radio. Right, OK. of the suggestions. But there's some great stuff coming through.

8:21How about this one here? How about this one? If you're fortunate enough to have a work vehicle in the driveway, so maybe you're a tradie, you've got an inverter fitted there. Quite a lot of people do. You can use the battery. It runs to a plug, and you can actually plug in your jug or your toaster or something. Keezy, this isn't back to the future, mate. We need real help. So are you coming in with your sci-fi, whatever this is, science fiction fantasy? An inverter. Not a flux capacitor. An inverter is pretty common in work vehicles there. Never heard of it. Haven't you? No. I'm not surprised, to be honest.

8:52Well, I've got some great advice. Jacket? Well, yeah, if you're going outside. You want, especially with the weather, the weather. Yeah, it was pissing down out there. Definitely jacket. Definitely jacket. Yeah, definitely wear a jacket. Bit of advice from me here is if you still have power, and you've got a power bank, get that thing plugged in right now, man. Get that all charged up there. Get your camping equipment out. If you've got kids, get them in the lounge tonight. I remember my parents doing this. We lost power for a couple of days, and the whole family slept in the lounge. We made a pillow fort.

9:26We had all our camping gear and stuff. It was really cute. We had candles. It was really cute. It was fun. It made it fun. I got one. What's that? Jacket. Yes, wear a jacket. Yeah, definitely. I mean, yeah, because there's a lot of rain about it at the moment. Obviously, wear a jacket or a parka or some sort of coat. I remember when my wife and I were in Twizel, and she gets bloody chilly down there, because, of course, when you've got no power, the old heat goes. And all we did, we were a cute little batchy out in the middle of nowhere anyway, as it turns out, freezing. So we just whipped the old clothes off, just the old body heat, just get under the sheets and the duvet there.

10:09You can jack it if you want it. but in terms of having a jacket over the top of the duvet there, and we just snuggled. Like you and your family, Kesey. Well, I mean, it's slightly different. We did not get naked and snuggled together. No, but I mean, we turned it into a fun thing. You know what I mean? And it's something really romantic about being naked under the covers there. You don't need to be naked. Well, body heat, man. That's the best heat you can get. Yeah. Great tip here. Set fire to your house, you'll have warmth, light and something to cook on. I was just going to say, the other thing you can do for heat is just get a fire gun.

10:46Yeah, that's right. Even if you don't have a fireplace, just break up the furniture, a bit of kerosene, boom, let it go. Some people see shelter, I see fuel. Yes. Yeah, right. I mean, I was reading that out as a joke. You know, we're not going to set fire to something in the middle of your lounge or something. Oh, yeah, that's just. Well, if you want to stay warm, you could. Yeah, I suppose at that point, you'd put on a jacket, Mogi, as you were saying. Before you burn down anything inside. Yeah, lounge fort I've got here. Camping supplies. Just get your sleeping bags out. Yeah. Huddled together in the middle of the lounge there.

11:22I don't know that I've got a sleeping bag, actually. Good tip here on what not to do. Don't shave your legs because you'll need the warmth. Actually, that is good advice on 3483. Totally. You've got to keep your eye out. So if you're thinking you'll shave your legs, don't. Is there anything else you guys can think of that you'd need, that you can do? While the power's out, before we go. Jacket. Yeah, yeah, definitely a jacket. Wear a jacket. Toilet paper, because that's the first thing to go. You can't do the old flush there, so you're going to wrap them. Why can't you flush? Get to your local dairy if you can, or the local super.

11:58Get as much of that toilet paper as you can get. Just load that trolley up. And if you don't need it, just burn it. Or you could just jack it. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki Welcome back The Big Show Magic Round 3 Let's put another mad bastard on the bench All three Yeah Three mad bastards Fellas, three mad bastards Thanks to boystrip.co.nz We are heading back to Brisbane for the ultimate long weekend of rugby league action Boy, how good Suncorp Stadium Eight games of footy, 16 NRL teams. Yeah, good, good, good, good. What do you do for a crust, Nathan? In between jobs at the moment, mate. Oh, yeah, that's a backbone. In between jobs, that's another way of saying dull bludger. but I don't think there's anything wrong with that, man. Well, it's like working for the fisheries. Yes. The beneficiaries. Ah. This guy gets it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And obviously, Nate, you love your Rockman League, mate. Certainly do, certainly do.

13:18Looking forward to tomorrow night. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course, Warriors tomorrow night, eh? Eight o 'clock. That's right, James. Home game. God, you follow them religiously. How good back, mate. Mate, if you won this competition, who would you bring with you? My mate Steve. We went a couple of years ago. Steve. Had a good time, yeah. Yeah, he loves it, eh? Oh, yeah. He had a shocking performance over there. I remember him. Steve. He was shocking, mate. Does anyone else find Steve a comedy name? Steve. Like if someone says to me, G'day, mate. How are you going, mate? What's your name?

14:28Steve. Like Steve from Guidance and Seven Periods with Mr Gornsby. Oh, I forgot he was called Steve. Yeah, that guy's clunker. I just find Steve a very funny name. Anyway, yeah, Brad, can you get your mate Steve to change his name? Is that all G? Yeah, Brad. Yeah, I will, mate. I'll try. Yeah, good on you, mate. You're in the drawer as well. You hold the line. G'day, Paul, you mad bastard. How's life? Oh, a bit moist. Yeah, it is, mate. Amen to that, brother. Yeah, hearing you, Paul. Hearing you. What do you do for a crust, Paul? I'm in kitchen joinery business. Oh, good on you, Paul. Kitchen joinery.

14:57Yeah, good. Paul, it says here you're up north, mate. Are you in Whangarei? I am indeed, yes. How's it looking up there, man? As I said, lads, a bit moist on it. Yeah, you're not listening. We're miserable. Yeah, not good, mate. Well, let's hope it's all fine for you fellas. And obviously, Paul, you love your Mokmaluk. Absolutely, mate. All up the wires. Yeah, up the wires. Good on you, man. Stay on the line, Paul. Big Delly will sort you out. No worries. Bloody beautiful, fellas. Bloody excited. May can't come soon enough. and another chance to get yourself... Guys, grow up. That was close. What do you mean it was close?

15:35It was close. Because I said May can't come soon enough. Yeah, nearly. Never mind. But look, if you missed out on this chance, there is another chance to get yourself in the draw a little later in the show. Just keep listening and get ready to call 0800-HAURAKI. And if you want to guarantee a spot, go to boyschip.co.nz and book your package there. Great stuff, mate. Here's Jane's addiction. The HAURAKI Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. The Black Keys air on the Radio Hauraki big show this blustery wet Thursday afternoon. The time is 4.48. Let's talk TV. What's on the telly with Mike Minogue?

16:14Yeah! So tempting to go along. Just saying. Last night I watched the reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer. Do you remember that one? Yes, I do, yes. Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze. All those sort of teenage backbones, you know, from back to the day. Half-drobs. 1999, I think, it came out, something like that. Anyway, they've remade it. I had such a crush on Jennifer Love Hewitt back in the day. Why? She was hot. Come on, Keezy. Come on, man. What about what's between her ears, man? Yeah. She had nice eyes as well. She had a really, really good actor and was a great performer. And all your...

16:54Oh, come on, man. That's disappointing from you, man. What wasn't disappointing... Well, actually, it was. I know what you did last summer, the reboot. I watched about 10 minutes of it, turned it off. Watched Alan Partridge's new show that's on Neon instead. Yeah, that other thing was garbage. Don't watch it? Well, I mean, to be honest with you, it was probably exactly the same standard as the original. But now I'm 27 years older. Yeah. So I got no patience for them there, young kids. Yeah, right. But some really great actors, actually, on there. Sort of a similar level to your Jennifer Love Hewitt's.

17:29Let me just say that. Acting-wise. Some very, very good actors. Oh, yeah. Very good, Kesey. Actually, I think you would like it a lot. Oh, yeah. I'll have to check it out. Fellas, I had one of those frustrating nights. My wife, of course, doing her play. My daughter was over at her friend's place for the night. So poor old hoity Jay was alone stuffing his face with chicken dumplings. I was going to say, did you get takeaways again, you animal? Yes. Good on you, man. Anyway, I got onto my usual channel, I Survived, and I went, I've got to stop this. This is out of control. I've got to move on from I Survived.

18:07So I scrolled down to Netflix. I scrolled across the Netflix, went onto Netflix, and it was one of those scenarios of, is this your account? Yes. You started arguing with the TV, did you? I did. Because his wife wasn't there. I did. And I had to sign in again. And I was like, oh. Were you like, eh. I was. I was effing and jeffing. And then I don't know if you. A slight inconvenience. Because what I can't. Ruined his night. This is what it's like in my household. Because my daughters use the Netflix as well overseas. The Netflix there. And then, I mean, I don't know the password. I don't know. and so starts a series of chats with my daughters in Australia.

18:47Does anyone know the Netflix password? About five options come through, and I tried a couple of them and none of them worked, and I just went, oh. You tried a couple of them and none of them worked? Yeah, and I just went, I'm not. Or, you know, and they were like, oh, it could be actually blah, blah, blah. My wife was too busy to even deal with it, so I just went back to I Survived. She wasn't busy. She was just over you. Yeah, she was just. Can I make a suggestion? at the risk of being a Keezy here, can I make her a suggestion? Sure, man. When you do get it, when you do finally get that password, make it a contact in your phone.

19:22Oh, that's a good idea. Then you just have the name, Netflix, and then you have your password. And then you call them whenever you forget it, and they'll tell you, is what Moggy's saying. Good stuff, man. Hey, how many buzzies would you give I survived? Four buzzies. How many buzzies would you give trying to find the password? Zero buzzies. Out of a possible five, by the way. Last night, fellas, we just wanted something mindless and silly to watch. Netflix. Scrolled, scrolled, scrolled. Stopped. Oh, could you get into your account, could you? Yep. Kath and Kim. I haven't watched that show in over a decade longer.

19:57Yeah. We just put on, I think it was the second episode of season one because we'd already watched, it said we'd already watched the first episode at some point. Second episode, Kath, Kim's moved back in with Kath. And then now Kath is worried that Kim and Sharon are together, the little netballer girl. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sharon comes home with Pash Rash. It's just, it is so funny. I completely forgot how good that show is. It is amazing. My youngest daughter is obsessed by that show, and I've watched it a little while ago. It is a genuinely stupid, funny show. So stupid. It's so stupid. But good, that perfect balance of, yes, it is really stupid, but it's clever at the same time.

20:34Yeah. Absolutely love it. I give it 4.3 buzzies out of 5. We were in hysterics. It is on Netflix. It's called Kath and Kim. Maybe you've heard of it. 2002 that came out. So 24 years ago. Just like that. It's just crazy, isn't it? Yeah. Where does it go, man? It's just boosh. Here's Muse.

20:54The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Yeah, welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're surviving your Thursday. You are indeed listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Toledo. Toledo's. All the good stuff, no nasties. Try Toledo's today.

21:15Toledo's. That's how you do it. That's how you do it. It took us a while. It took you a while. Well, it took, to be honest, mate, you've been the one struggling with it. And with obviously help from our great listener, Kimmy, who sent through the idea. Kimmy Raikkonen. Kimmy, we're not doing what's on the dinner right now, Moggy. It was Kimmy, the listener. We rewarded her with 50 bucks, courtesy of Toledo's. Kimmy Eats World. That's the one. That's the one. Actually, speaking of Eating World, Hoity J, since he's moved to the city, what's the name of your apartment again, man? I'm not going to have to say the name of it, man.

21:49Jizz Palace. Oh, the Jizz Palace. Oh, God, I've forgotten that one. I didn't want you to give out your address or anything. Yeah, well, I was just about to, too. Nah, the Jizz Palace. Google it. It'll come up with Hoity J's address. But ever since you moved to the city, you have started a review notebook of all the restaurants you've gone to. Yes. I've still got to put another couple in there, actually, I've just realised. The genuine notebook is here in my hand. We're going to read some of Hoity J's reviews and just, you know, get a taste for what's happening in the city, Jase. I'm excited. Yeah, good stuff, man.

22:20In the meantime, let's get stuck into a bit of Pearl Jam. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki. The Strokes here on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this wet Thursday afternoon. The time is 12 minutes past 5 o 'clock. Hoity J recently moved into the city.

22:45And part of that, Jase, was you were very excited to just every night or a couple of times a week, you and your wife will go for a walk down the street and just visit a random restaurant. Yes, totally, man. That was the thought. That was the thought. And since you've moved, you've actually kept a diary of your reviews. And this is 100 % genuine. I've got the diary in front of me here. And you've got short reviews of the restaurants. I won't say the names. and a rating as well. Yes. So we're just going to share, genuinely share, some of Hoity J's reviews. The first one you ever did was a Thai restaurant.

23:18Yeah. Off of Queen Street there. Thai restaurant. Pretty basic setup. $15 to$30 range. Standard Thai fare. Possibly a bit better than average, but reasonably priced. Pretty tasty. Six buzzies out of a possible ten And then I'm not sure What are those circle things you put under there? Buzzies So you've drawn the buzzies You've drawn the buzzies there right? Just remind me I'm writing it out of buzzies You've written six out of ten buzzies And then you've drawn the buzzies He's drawn ten buzzies And they're quite detailed And he's crossed out four of them That's how I do it Moogie You went backwards Can I, just as a slight sideline, I just find it very comforting drawing buzies.

24:11Sure. And are you doing that at the restaurant with your book? Have you got your book at the restaurant? Yes. Okay. Now, this one here is Vietnamese cuisine, also on Queen Street. Can I just stop you there, Kesey? I just want people to know, be very clear about this. Kesey is sitting here with the leather-bound book owned by Jase. This is 100 % true. Correct. Looks like it's got something sticky all over the cover there. Some kind of a Thai red curry sauce. Could very well be there, Moggy. You know, and this is the other thing, before you get into the next review there, Kesey, just a little tip for all the people out there when you go to a restaurant.

24:50Take a little notebook with you, and whoever is going with you, just write things down, because they immediately go, oh, hang on. Yeah, that's right. Here's a critic in the restaurant. Let's give them the best stuff. They think you're Jesse Mulligan, but they don't know you're Jason Hoyt. That's right. What about this one here, fellas? Korean off of Queen Street. Just past the town hall there. Nice relaxed set-up. Nicely cooked food in the$15 to$25 range. Easy night out. 6.5 buzzies out of 10. It's really hard doing half a buzzy. Well, I've noticed. What do you do? Because I can't see it from over here.

25:31Do you just do a smaller buzzy? Yeah, just a half buzzy. Like a... Smaller cup. A cup. Well, to be accurate, Jase, what you do is you draw six full-size buzies, two very small ones, and then three full-size again, and you've crossed out one of the small ones. Correct. Yeah. Incidentally, that one you just mentioned, going there tonight, my daughter's coming over from Australia tonight, feels. Right. So we'll be going there tonight. What kind of set-ups it got again? That one there, you're taking your daughter. A special treat. Relaxed set-up. It's a relaxed... That's a good place to take your daughter because of the set-up there.

26:04It's relaxed. But the first place, what kind of set-up did that have? Very basic, I think it was. Basic set-up. Basic set-up. So you're always reviewing the set-up? Yeah, I like to review the sort of general vibe of the place. The set-up? Yeah. Now, this one here, fellas, it looks to me like you've had a recent run of bad luck, Jase. Yeah, we've had a bad run. Now, this one here is Vietnamese fare. $10 to$30 range. $10? Really disappointing food. Bland salad. And over sweet curry. Overly sweet. Not good, full stop. 3.5 buzies out of a possible 10 buzies. Wow, 3.5. Yeah. So that's terrible. It's a nuisance, isn't it?

26:46Because you've still got to draw all 10 buzies. I guess that's the highlight of the night. And you just had to cross them all out. And it was one of those ones that we kept going past and going past. And we went, oh, let's just give it a try. But instinctively, I knew it was going to be crap. I don't know why. It looks really nice. Do you remember what the dish was that you ordered? You got a curry there, a sweet curry. I don't like a sweet curry. No, neither do I. It was a red duck curry, I believe. I've got to say I'm cautious ordering game in your$10 to$30 range, I've got to say. Sure, no, yeah.

27:18And it does suck too, right? You've been on a run of bad restaurant experiences, and it's crazy how a bad food experience can ruin your week. I had a 6 out of 10 last week. You see, because I do that, when I have a particularly bad review, I draw a, see there, Kesey, a flaccid dude. Is that what that is? Yeah.

27:42Is that flaccid, is it? So I'll be publishing that, fellas, at the end of the year. Right. For all the punters out there that want to know what's going on in the city food-wise. Self-publishing. Well, yeah, it'll be self-published. Yeah. Here's to food The Hauraki Big Show With Jace, Mike and Kesey Tune in weekdays at 4 On Radio Hauraki Yes indeed Shapeshifter there On the Radio Hauraki Big Show This Thursday afternoon The time is 5.25 And you were just announcing Their tour there Kesey Jeez they're playing In a few places They certainly are It's to celebrate Their album Solstice Turning 20 Wow Crazy 2006 that album came out It is my favourite Shapeshifter album It's actually the first album of theirs I got.

28:27So many great tracks. Electric Dream we just heard there. You've got In The Rain featuring Lady Six, which was my favourite on the entire album for some reason. One, which is an absolute classic. Southern Lights, Equinox. It's just a bring change as well. It's just such a great album. Yeah, totally, man. And to know that they could be playing that sucker in full, I don't know if that's what their plan is. We don't know, but we'll just say it. Yeah, we'll just say it. That would make sense to me, given that they're celebrating 20 years of that album. Yeah, that would be a good way to celebrate the 20 years of that album.

28:56Would be to play the album. Would be to play that album. What if you get there and they don't play any of the album? Well, I doubt that would happen, Keezy, but just quickly name the places again very quickly. Eight dates, eight spots across New Zealand. If you want your tickets, shapeshifter.co.nz, but they are going to Invercargill, Dunedin, Wanaka, Christchurch, Methvin, Wellington, Huanui, and New Plymouth as well. Where's Auckland? Keezy. What? Where's Auckland? I don't know. It doesn't say Auckland. What the hell? It's not interesting. What the hell? Wait, no, didn't they just play at Symphony?

29:28That doesn't. Well, that's not the same thing, man. Anyway, let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Kieran, you mad bastard. How's life? Yeah, good hoity, Jay. Good, mate. Good on you, mate. Obviously, you love the shapeys. I do. I've been full on them for years. You love the shapeys? Yeah. Come on, Jase. What does that mean? The shapeys. Old school. Yeah, it's old school, Kieran. Old school. Yeah, totally, man. Tell me, Kieran, what do you do for a crust? Work for a joinery company. Get on you, mate. If you happened to take these tickets away, man, who would you take with you? Well, I'd better take the better half or otherwise I might be in the bad books, you know.

30:06Yeah, that's true, man. Good night out at the Theatre Royal in Christchurch, I'll tell you that, boys. Yeah, yeah, yeah, boy. All right, Kieran, well, congratulations, mate. You hold the line, those tickets are yours, all right? No worries. Good on you, mate. Good, just like that. I'm absolutely filthy. Why is that? That they're not doing Auckland. They'll have something special planned, mate. They had an anniversary, was it last year or the year before that was at Town Hall? Yeah, that's right. Absolute monster. I've never seen shapies in a confined space like that. It's always outdoors for me.

30:35I'd love to go see them indoors somewhere like that, especially Town Hall. It was pretty amazing. Yeah. It was pretty amazing. I'd like to go and see them where you had a scenario with a bit of indoor-outdoor flow. So, like, kind of inside, but you could also go outside for your vaping, your durry and stuff like that. Sort of at your house. If you could have them at your house, sort of in your backyard, then you could just pop inside, you know, and watch a little bit of I Survived if you want or whatever. Keezy. Or location, location, location. Keezy. What? If you could get them to play at your Come Dine With Me night, I'll give you ten buzzies, man.

31:11Really? Yeah. Ten buzzies. I don't know if that's possible. But can I just ask, you're very annoyed that they're not playing in Auckland. If they were, would you go to the gig? Probably not. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Stone Temple Pilots there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening, the time 5.37. I've got a little bit of news for you, fellas. It's not breaking news. Okay. Put your finger down there, Keese. I was about to ask as well. But it is going to make you a little bit itchy, Keese. Now, over the course of my life and certainly the course of this show, there have been occasions where I have misplaced certain items in my life.

31:47Yeah, like when we went to Brisbane for Magic Round and you took your bag with your laptop in it to do a bit of work. Yeah. But you didn't have your laptop in it. Didn't have my laptop in it. And then you left your passport somewhere. This is all in one trip. Yeah. This is all just to get there. And the phone as well. I left my phone in the airport lounge in Auckland. That's right. So I had no money. I had no, and my wallet, my wallet I left behind. You left your wallet at home. I left my wallet behind. I had my phone and I had to use my phone as my credit card. That was the only thing that I had.

32:21I believe I left my wallet in the Uber. That's right. That's an example. That was just one example. And you've lost your sunglasses a few times. You've lost your wallet. Car keys. Car keys. Oh, yeah. Well, there was a time that I lost my wallet and it turned up about a year and a half later and it was in one of the lazy boys in the ACC studio. Yes. That's right. What about the fact that you lost your Toyota Aqua? Yeah. We went to pick that up and it was gone. The council had towed it and sold it. It's just gone now. It's just lost. That's not ours anymore. And I can't even name the amount of times that you left stuff on the ferry when you lived in Waiheke.

32:57Oh, yeah. Just every second day. Absolute shambles. Anyway. Cool. Can't wait for this. On that note, because I haven't got a car at the moment, I don't know if you've heard, I've lost my aqua, if anybody's found it. So I've got no car. So I use this thing called City Hop, and you can rent cars around the city and vans. I've wanted to do that. It's really handy, especially if you've lost your car. So I use that for a couple of hours there to do something or other. Then I dropped it back off, walked into work, and then got in here, I realised I had lost my AirPods, my Apple AirPod thingies. Now, the reason why I was on the phone when I got out of the car, I had one in my ear and I was chatting away there and got out and I was in a bit of a rush and I left.

33:43And it wasn't until I got to work that I realised I left my case and the other one in the car. All right. So I ring them up and I say, look, I've left it in there. And they say, that's fine. You just come along and bring us and we'll open the car for you and you can get back in and get it. I said, oh, sweet as. So I went up there. Car wasn't there. Somebody else had rented it out. You lost the car. Well, I didn't lose it. It was just been re-rented. That's right. And so I rang them up and they said, oh, yeah, that's due back at 8 o 'clock tonight. Come back after 8 o 'clock and it'll be there.

34:14Right. And so I went back at 8 o 'clock that night. It wasn't there. They'd extended it. So it still wasn't there. Right, okay. So the next day I went back. Yeah. But I couldn't go back until after 7 o 'clock. They said they were open until 9. Got there, the car was there, called them after 7. No one answered, they were closed. Next day I didn't have time. The next day I didn't have time. Five days, Keezy. Couldn't get it. So now, at this point, you've lost interest in finding them. It's just one of those things where you think, do I really need them at this point? I mean, it's not like you. I mean, I've got one.

34:51I've still got the one. Which will die soon and you'll have no way to charge it. That was already dead, yeah. So you've lost charge. So I've lost charge, and then I just couldn't. Do you really need them, man? Yeah, I get into that. It's like a lot of these things I've lost. I've lost my wallet, my phone, my car, all of these things. It just makes you think to yourself, well, did I ever need them in the first place? Correct. Bogie, you'd lose your head if it wasn't massive.

35:16It's Incubus. Although I will say on the bright side, Keezy, after eight days, yesterday I went in there, picked them up. Oh, really? Still in the car. How good? Because I could track them, you see. I could track them all over Auckland. But a little win for Mogey there. Happy ending. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Welcome back. The Big Show. Magic round three beat. Let's put another mad bastard on the bench. Bloody oats. Let's do it, team. Boystrip.co.nz. It is a website you go to. It organises amazing sports trips. for you and your mates because you're too useless to do it.

35:56It's because of them that we are heading over to Brisbane in May. We're going to watch eight games of Rugby League, all at Suncorp Stadium. It is Rugby League paradise. The Warriors are undefeated since the big show's been going a magic round, and you can be joining us with a mate. Free flights, free accommodation. It's bloody ripper stuff. To be clear, that was twice. Yeah, twice. It's twice. Bloody good stuff. Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Zeb, you mad bastard. How's life? How are you, fellas? How are you doing? Yeah, good, thanks, mate. How's Christchurch today? Yeah, a bit wet down here, mate.

36:25Yeah, around the country, I think. What do you do for a crust there, Zeb? Me, I work in medical software. Oh, what a backbone. What a sicko. Who would you take with you if you won, man? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, who would you take with you? Oh, I'd definitely take my partner with me. Is she in the car with you? Yeah, she is. Yeah, we'll talk to you later. We'll see who you really take. Yeah, yeah, good. We'll read between the lines there, Zeb. Good news, brother. You're in the draw, all right? Oh, thank you, guys. That's awesome. Good on you, mate. Easy peasy, lemon keezy, mate. Yeah, good on you.

36:59Lemon keezy. That makes perfect sense. Good on you, Zeb. G'day, Anton, you mad bastard. How's life? Bloody marvellous. Yourself? Yeah, good. Mate, tell me, Anton, you backbone. What do you do for a crust? I'm a mechanic. Oh, you're a backbone. You're a backbone. You're a backbone is what you are, Anton. Sicko. Who would you take with you if you happened to win there? Sicko? Well, it'll be a debate between the wife and all my best mates. Yeah, who would you like to take? Well, that's the best mate. Good honesty there, Anton. Have you got a favourite rugby league team, mate? Warriors, of course.

37:34Good on you, mate. I thought the question was that. You know, you could bring your wife, mate, because she could go wandering around with Woody J who's decided he wants to go and look at art galleries and go for a trip up the Brown Snape. Yeah I'm sure she'll enjoy that Yeah Shame Well maybe You know We could do a separate Ladies tour With Hoity J Yeah cool Let's all bring our wives And then Hoity J Looks after that Sounds really great Sounds good eh Actually I do have a proposal Hey Anton You hold the line mate You're in the draw alright I'll do Thank you very much Good on you mate Hey I've actually got a proposal fellas Because Jase You've hit us with a proposal Whilst we're watching Rugby League awesomeness With the winners And having an excellent time You want to do a cultural tour Of Brisbane You don't like rugby league, do you?

38:16I love it, but I just haven't seen any of Brizzy, that's all. Yeah, right. So you want to go to art galleries, you want to go to maybe some museums, you want to go on a river cruise, which just sounds great. I've got a separate proposal to put against that proposal. What if we made Magic Round extra magic? All right, you've got the NRL, eight games over three days. Why don't we up that to 11 games over three days by going to watch the grade below the NRL, the Queensland Cup? We go watch the three games that are on at the same time, slightly earlier in the day. Yeah. Then Magic Round. We could go see the Pride taking on the Clydesdales.

38:53We could go see the Cutters taking on the Burley Bears. Burley Bears, mad dog. Classic matchup, man. I think Charlie Gubb played for the Burley Bears. Did he? I believe so, yeah. And we could go see the Pag... The Pag what? The Magpies. The Pagmies taking on the Hunters. That's my proposal. 11 games of Rugby League. What do you reckon? I'm keen. I'd be so into that. In the meantime, he's the killers. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. You're welcome back, you massive bag bones. Hope you're surviving this horrendous Thursday evening. You're listening to The Big Show brought to you by Toledo.

39:33From work days to workouts, Toledo keeps you balanced, refreshed and ready to go.

39:41Toledo. We're getting really good at that. We are. I think we should crank that music up, though, because it's rockin'. Yeah, it's good as gold, man. It's rockin'. Now, listen. It's like trumpet and stuff. There was a bit of sports chat there in the news. Keezy, you said you had some big breaking news. Read the Warriors. Well, no, you said that. You had some big breaking news. Well, what? You're what's going on with the Warriors with me, Keezy. That's who you are. No, you're getting the Warriors segment is called What are the Warriors up to? With me, Keezy. With me, Keezy. And you were saying before the show you've got some exciting breaking news about it.

40:17Well, look, I don't want to spread rumours. I don't want to spread rumours. But the rumour I'm hearing. Who told you this? Is this some guy in a... In the urinal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The guy at the urinal. He was saying that a mate he was at the urinal next to the other day was also saying... Right. That they might move Charms to centre. Right, from fullback. From fullback. And then Tain Topiki, who's been at fullback. Yeah, he's been very good. Keep him there. Keep him there. Yeah, nice. That's a whisper I heard. I don't know if it's true. And who's dropping out at centre? Maybe Ali Rea Taua. I'm not sure.

40:44I just don't know. It could just be hair safe. The guy at the urinal there, was he wearing an all-blacks jersey? He was wearing a Highlanders jersey. So I don't know what that means. Interesting. Yeah, yeah. Jase, anyway, you happy I shared that news? Yeah, it's good stuff, man. No, don't. What? You told me to share it. I shared it, and now you're taking the piss. No, I think it's fantastic. Well, it's not that good. I actually think it is fantastic. I love Tain to a piggy. Ah. He's a nippy little bugger, isn't he? He is. Here's Linkin Park. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

41:21Faith No More there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening. The time, 12 minutes past six o 'clock. Fellas, do you mind if we have a bit of fruit chat? Oh, fruit chat on the Big Show with Hoity Fruit. With Fruity J. Fruity jizz. Fruity jackass. Okay.

41:48What? This is a semi-serious chat here. Have you got a semi-serious chat? I always run a... Yeah. He's in that weird mood where he starts being silly. And it's to do with fruit. You're joking. And today... We're not wasting this sting. Today, I was in my kitchen sucking hard on a feijoa. Because you don't use a spoon like I use a spoon. No, I suck it, and I suck it hard. And I was eating this fee jar, and it occurred to me, I thought to myself, God, I don't really eat any fruit. And when I say that, I will, in all honesty, have maybe a fee jar. Occasionally, I might eat a plum. A couple of plums?

42:37I've seen you with a couple of plums in your mouth before.

42:44You are loving it.

42:50Maybe some melon. I didn't think you liked melons.

42:59I'll give it a try sometimes, Moggy. And every now and then maybe a little sort of bundle of grapes. Yes. Or a bunch of grapes, as it's mostly known. But in all seriousness, when I look at my overall diet, this is no exaggeration, I would say that fruit runs at about 3 % to 4 % of my diet. And I'm curious to know what you guys are running fruit-wise, because I know, Mogi, for example, you don't like fruit in your meals. Not my meat. Not with your meat. No. But I don't ever really recall you eating a lot of fruit. Yeah, look, I'm not huge on them. Now, this is going to be fascinating for the people at home.

43:47I will have some frozen mixed berries in my smoothie that I have every day. Oh, okay, yes. My protein shake, so that qualifies. Yes. I have a little bit of spinach. That doesn't qualify. Jase, it's not a fruit. No. It's just not. I like apples, but they always get stuck. I've got some of my teeth are on the piss down the bottom there, and I always get apples stuck in there, so I just avoid apples. I don't eat those for that reason. Can I just say I'm the same, but for a different reason. I'm like a horse with apples. It gives me terrible wind. Oh, really? Kesey, I know you're a pork lintz boy.

44:23I don't actually think I've ever seen you eat fruit. Or vegetables. Or veggies, for that matter. I mean, that's a bit of a... I mean, your meat and slabs of bread. Otherwise known as loaves of bread. Yeah, no, I don't eat... I eat vegetables, but not fruit. I eat a lot of vegetables. Right. Although last night we were having burritos, and we had tomato chopped up in there, which was delicious, of course, and tomato is a fruit. Technically. Technically, so I would say I do eat tomato. So does carrot. Carrot's a fruit. No, carrot is a root vegetable. My wife made a banoffee pie the other day. There's banana in that.

45:02That's true. A banoffee pie. Oh, and a banana smoothie. You had a banana chocolate smoothie yesterday. Oh, mind you, having said that, I have left out Coomera wedges. They're a fruit. Oh, yeah, that's a fruit. That's a root vegetable as well. Are you kidding? No, Coomera wedge. Coomera's not a vegetable, Keezy. It's a fruit. You dig it out of the ground. Yes, totally. Yeah, like a watermelon. Yeah, you got me there. No, a watermelon's a vegetable. Wait. Wait, so a kuma is a fruit and a watermelon is a vegetable? Yes. What's an eggplant? Whose plums did you have in your mouth? The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Kesey.

45:46Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Guns. Moon roses there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening. Now, the music jury has been tumbling along, hasn't it, fellas? It's been tumbling. And it's basically your opportunity as a listener to tell us what kind of music you want to hear on Radio Hauraki. Also, your opportunity to have a few comments about the shows, what you like, what you don't like. Basically, give your opinion on Radio Hauraki. That's right. It is actually seriously taken into consideration when it comes to tutu-ing with the playlist and sacking announcers or giving announcers like me pay rises and stuff.

46:23So it's worth doing. Text MUSIC to 3483. Every time we do it, we have a fantastic prize. This time, Jase, I believe it was a Bluetooth vinyl player and a vinyl from your personal collection. Yeah, totally, man. So I think the way it's going to work is whoever the winner is, and we've got them on the line now, they get to say any vinyl, and then if you've got it in your collection, they can have it. Yeah, totally. All right, well, let's go to the line now. G'day, Daniel, you mad bastard. How's life? It's pretty good. That sounds like one of the greatest backbones on New Zealand radio right there.

46:56Yeah, you're not wrong there, Daniel. Look how smuggy. It's old Mogey. Yeah, it's old Mogey. No, he was talking about me. It's old Mogey over here. No, you were talking about Iron Mogey. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, tell me, Daniel, where do your sort of musical tastes lie? Well, it can be a little bit diverse, to be honest. A bit of all sorts, but generally in the rock direction. But, you know, I don't like to discriminate. Yeah, okay. So do you like, you know, you can go from sort of your guns and roses to your Arctic monkeys, you know? Is that your kind of range there? Yeah, yeah, I'd go that full range and more.

47:31And more. I mean, that's not far apart, is it? I'll tell you one thing about Daniel. He's got a massive range. He's got a huge range. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What's the last gig you went to there, Daniel? Ooh, actually, it was Pearl Jam, whenever that was. A couple of years ago there. Yeah, a year or 18 months or something. Yeah, good on you, mate. Good start. I think I saw you there, man. Yeah, probably. Hey, Daniel, just incidentally, mate, what do you do for a crust? I work with hearing aids. Oh, man! Backbone. Bloody backbone. Great stuff. We'll be getting one of those soon. Well, great news, Daniel, because you participated in the music jury.

48:06You've just won yourself a Bluetooth record player. How does that sound? That sounds awesome, guys. Yeah, bloody ripper, mate. You also, as part of the prize, get to pick any vinyl from Hoy D.J.'s collection. So is there a vinyl or a band you'd love a vinyl from to go with it?

48:23There'd be a wide range I'd be happy to take there. Yeah, just chuck out any band name, mate. We'll see if we've got it in the collection here. Have you got any Alice in Chains? Yeah. You bet we do. Yeah. But he can't have that one. He can't have it? Do you want to keep that one? I don't want him to have that one. No, come on, Jase. Oh, fine, he can have that one. Yeah, good on you, Daniel. All right, mate, you hold the line there, man. Big Dilly will grab your details, and thanks very much for voting in the music jury. Awesome. Thanks, guys. Good on you, mate. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

49:00Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's a big show done and dusted for your Thursday night. Make sure you tune in tomorrow, of course, for the Friday Throbber. What's the podcast outro clip today? It was a bit filthy today from Recollection, the podcast outro. Yeah, we had to put a disclaimer on this one. Oh, yeah. Hopefully the piece they're about to play isn't violated. You right, Kesey? There's a problem. We've got old Big Dilly out there, and Big Dilly loves playing the worst thing out of the podcast. He loves filth. He loves taking the worst thing that should not go on the radio and putting that as a clip.

49:31So let's see how we go. His name is Dylan. He's already had one shocker straight through yesterday, and then let's see what's happened now. Okay, all right, here we go. I would say, in all honesty... Here we go. Now, where do you think this is going to go? Okay, I think he's going to say five. No, no, I think he's going seven or eight. Okay. Yeah. Well, genuinely, what I was going to say, I would say my sex drive today is about a six. Yeah. Right, so just one down from me. Just between us. Like, so it's not. Not let neither of us be right. It's not. That's not too bad. That's pretty good. That's pretty good.

50:09It's not bad for jelly. Yeah. The podcast comes out at 7.30. We were discussing, you know, how we've changed since our teenage years. Yeah, yeah, totally. Mogi, what time are you going to bed tonight? Ooh, be a bit later tonight, man. Yes. Sooner the better as always, Jizz. Yes. A little bit of work to do tonight, man. Yeah, good stuff, mate. Keezy, what are you having for dinner tonight, man? We've still got leftover burrito. Don't. Don't even. I'm serious. You're not having burritos three nights in a row. Would you not at that point have it for lunch and then change it up for dinner? Nah, because dinner's great because you get home from work and dinner is there.

50:45And you just grab a little bit. There's actually a crap load still left, so we're going to have to freeze some. Yeah, we've got heaps of, I've got a mate staying, and he made dinner on Sunday, and he went with a Mexican thing. But I said to him, don't cook too much, man, because we won't eat a ton. Now we've got a huge, one of those huge Tupperware containers full of beans and bloody sauce and all that sort of thing. So we've been plowing our way through that since Sunday there, and there's still about nine kilos of it. So I'm just waiting for him to leave tomorrow, and it's going straight down there and sink a rate.

51:17Yeah, beans give me wind.

51:21What are you doing tonight there, Jase? Well, as I said at the start of the show, one of my girls is coming over from Aussie today. In fact, she's just landed and she said, I'm hungry. Right, so you're going to take her to that 6 out of 10 restaurant you reviewed. Yeah, 6 and a half out of 10. Buzzy's out of 10, thanks, Keezy. Yeah, true. But having said that, it's such a bad night out there. We may have to do Uber Eats. You may. Are you looking forward to getting home? How are you going to get home? Because, of course, you'll walk in. Keezy's going to give me a lift. Nice fella. But listen, check out the Instagram, check out the podcast.

51:52Till tomorrow, see you later!
