0:08Keyzie:Don't fight it. It's time to go up a size. This is the biggest, biggest, the biggest, this is the biggest, our biggest show. The Hauraki Big Show with Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Big Show! Oh g'day you mad bastards. Great to have your company this Friday morning. Wet and wild out there, isn't it? It's the 18th of September, 2026, and you, my friends, are listening to the Big Show Breakfast, brought to you by Bunnings Trade.
0:43Mike Minogue:Build big rewards with new Power Pass Pro Rewards by Bunnings.
0:48Keyzie:I've got to say, Moggy, wearing it for the was, it's a very, very tight fit, and I'm loving it. How's life, you Stallion? You're getting pretty grouse, you mad dog, you sick son of a bee. I'm aware I sound quite nasally this morning. Yeah. Don't know why. Well, it's because it's 6.02 in the morning, Moggy. That'll be why. I've been up for hours, man. Yeah, I've been up since three. Not happy about it. How are you going, Keezy? Hello. I was just going to talk about this Warriors jersey you referred to, Jase. It's a woman's medium. Okay. That makes sense. A woman's medium, but I'm loving it. Is that the secret?
1:26That's the trick. Your outfit. Everything I wear is a woman's medium. Except for my jeans, which are a woman's small. Yeah, nice. Hot. How are you, Keezy, your mad dog there with your jacket on?
1:38Mike Minogue:Yeah, I've got my Waz jacket on, fellas. We're wearing it for the Waz, fellas. Yeah, we are, mate. That's right. It didn't work last week, and I'm a bit worried there's a curse around it, to be completely honest. Yeah, so am I, actually. Yeah, because it's never happened before. No. And there we are in the finals. Dadoosh. Smacked. Boom, wear it for the Waz. company directive, which is great. You know, I love seeing everyone in the offices wearing all their WARS gear and stuff. Yeah. But the thing I love about WARS fans is, remember the Pinot WARS? Yes. Matt Heath had a casual joke about Pinot WARS.
2:11Mike Minogue:It turned into a whole thing. And then as soon as everyone picked this thing up and it was sponsored and there was all this stuff going on, they started losing and then everyone turned against it. Yeah, everyone jumped off the bandwagon. I love it. WARS fans are just like, nah, it's a curse. It's a curse. I've got to be honest with you.
2:24Keyzie:When I wore this the first time and I wore it home, my wife said to me, are you going to take that back? And I went, what do you mean? And she said, well, you should give it back. It's not your shirt. Because I think she hated it.
2:36Mike Minogue:What, you in that? But she'll...
2:38Keyzie:Even though I look really hot, obviously.
2:40Mike Minogue:But she'll look at you in, like, your weird hoodie and your duck shirt or whatever, and she'll just be like, yeah, that's a sweet ass. She buys that for her.
2:45Keyzie:Well, she's used to that, Keezer. You know what I mean? I'll tell you what. We have an absolutely massive show ahead.
2:57What's happening on The Big Show with Old Mogi? Tell you what, fellas, I'm pretty distraught this morning. Today is the only day of the work week. Yeah. When you're going to be able to get yourself into the draw for Would You Rather, your opportunity to win a trip to Bathurst or the NRL Grand Final. Listen out for the queue to call and give us a bell on 0800 Hauraki. Also, fellas, because we're doing breakfast, we get to do the throbber. Yeah, man. That's going to be coming up later in the show. And old Keezy over there. Mad doll. Hello. Got the come dine with me menu reveal today. I've got to tell you, I'm worried.
3:36Keyzie:It's got to be good. Fellas, bring your appetites. Yeah, good stuff, mate. Shall we have a bit of music? What do you think? A bit of Aces?
3:43Mike Minogue:Yeah, I think so. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
3:48Keyzie:Yes, indeed. The exponents there on the Big Show breakfast this Friday morning. The time is 6.14.
3:55Mike Minogue:Fellas, yesterday we discussed on the show that, what time do you leave your house, Jase? Usually for breakfast about sort of 20 past five, Kesey. 20 past five in the morning, of course. You live in an apartment in the CBD. It's about a 15-minute walk, and it's pretty sketchy.
4:09Keyzie:Yeah. It's pretty dodgy out there at that time of the day, mate, to be honest.
4:13Mike Minogue:You feel unsafe?
4:14Keyzie:Yes, very much so.
4:15Mike Minogue:And so yesterday on the show, we kind of discussed the possibility of Pugs, our producer, who trained as a security guard. Yeah. You know, this is 10 years ago in Wellington. I think it was an hour. An hour course. Yeah, like an hour course. Yeah. And I think that sort of takes you through stuff, and we'll potentially talk to the pugs about this, but do you know how to put on your jacket? Oh, okay, yeah. You know, do you know how to put on your shoes? Yeah. Yes. Oh, we might have a star here. Do you know how to put on your name badge? Yes. Yes. And here's your truncheon and your gun. And your, what do you call it?
4:53Your pepper spray. Your pepper spray. Yes. And your taser.
4:57Mike Minogue:Yeah. And to top it off, a nice beret. And so we figured, look, Pugs has got the training. This is a guy who's been in the trenches. Why don't we get him to come to your house early, 4.30 a.m., arrive there, sort of patrol around a bit, make sure the area is safe. Yes. And then you come out and he escorts you to work. How'd that go today? Because it's also raining.
5:17Keyzie:Yeah. Well, I actually saw him out there at about 4.30 talking to someone down on the park there, and he was ages, actually. Right. And then they disappeared for a while and then he came back about 25, 30 minutes later and I was like, what was that about? Bit of a pep in the step. Yeah, I had a bit of a jaunty sort of step happening.
5:36Mike Minogue:It might have been like an informant, though.
5:39Keyzie:Well, it might have been, but true story, my wife offered to drive me to work today because it was pissing down so bad and I said, no, I can't do it, darling, because old Pugsan's going to escort me. Yeah. So I can't sort of stand him up. But he did, to his credit, and I felt very, very safe tucked under the buzzy of Pugs.
5:56Mike Minogue:Well, that's the question I wanted to know is because we kind of spitballed how it would work and we kind of came up with the idea that not a front pack but a backpack where you'd sort of be sitting in the back on Pugs' back with your little legs dangling there and he would sort of run you to work whilst holding an umbrella this morning, I'm guessing?
6:12Keyzie:Yes, well, he didn't have a backpack. I just did the koala from the front and just sort of held on and I felt great. It was amazing.
6:19Mike Minogue:Did he do that thing he does where he closes his jacket over you and zips it up? Oh, yeah. That's smart. It was fantastic.
6:25Keyzie:That's smart. I really appreciate it, Pugs. Thanks, mate. And so do you prefer that? I'm going to do it all the time now, even if it's not raining.
6:32Mike Minogue:Right, okay.
6:33Keyzie:Even for the drive show, I'm going to do it.
6:36Mike Minogue:Okay, fair enough. All right. I'm glad it works, Jase. Thanks, mate. Pugs looks stoked about it. Yeah. He was into it. He's got a real pep in his teeth. Yeah, he was weirdly into it. Fellas, do you think we'll do what's on the breakfast? Next? Oh, yeah. Yeah, okay, next. We're not next, but we should start getting texts on 3483. What are you having for breakfast this morning? What's your name? On a Friday. Yeah, Friday edition. What's your name? Where are you texting from? Are you on your way to work? What are you doing? 3483, let us know what you're having for breakfast.
7:03Keyzie:Here's the Arctic Monkeys.
7:07Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
7:13Keyzie:Arctic Monkeys there on the Big Show. Breakfast this Friday morning. The time is 6.21, and fellas, aren't we looking great this morning?
7:20Mike Minogue:Certainly are. All of us wearing our Warriors gear, because today we are wearing it for the Waz again. Yeah, man. We did this last Friday, encouraging everyone, as they're getting ready in the morning, to put on their Warriors gear. Just show a bit of support, you know?
7:33Keyzie:Yeah, totally, man. And mogies is a medium woman's shirt, I believe. Nothing wrong with that. And it fits him like a glove.
7:40Mike Minogue:From where I'm sitting, he is spilling out. Yeah, he is.
7:43Keyzie:Yeah, it's good stuff. He's bulging. Thanks.

7:47Mike Minogue:Wear it to work, school, the gym, the supermarket, wherever. Wear it for the Waz. Oh, they tell you where to wear it. Yeah, it says there's some options of where you can wear it. Oh, this is handy. Whether you're in the office, on the tools, behind the wheel, or in the classroom, pull on your Waz jersey or merch for Wear It for the Waz. Yeah, I think if I was on the site there, I don't think I'd wear my jersey. I'd wear a hat. I'd wear a scarf. I wouldn't want to get it dirty, you know what I mean? Yeah. Get stuff on it. I've got some Waz mittens. I'd probably wear that and a scarf on the work site.
8:19Keyzie:Well, my wife made you a Waz hat, but you never wear it. That's true. And she's really upset about that, Keezy. And you look really cool in it as well.
8:26Mike Minogue:It's amazing. Jase, I wear it to the beach all the time. It's got a towel on the inside, and so whenever I go to the beach, I wear the hat with my sunglasses, and then you can put it on and it dries your hair.
8:36Keyzie:Well, I said to her, can you make me a hat like you made Keezy? And she said, why would I even bother? You know what I mean? A Waz hat? Yeah. You wouldn't wear that.
8:45Mike Minogue:You hate the waz.
8:46Keyzie:I love the waz. Excuse me. Are you not looking at me, Keezy?
8:50Mike Minogue:Yes, with the jersey you got for free from the office here. I look good, too. You do look good. But make sure you do, if you're getting ready right now, chuck on a bit of waz gear, support the fellas. Also, fellas, keep those texts coming in on 3483. What's for breakfast, New Zealand? Pugs is putting together some prizes over there. Yeah, nice. And we're going to randomly dish some out on 3483. So what are you having for breakfast this morning? In the meantime, it's Nirvana. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
9:19Keyzie:Nirvana there on the Big Show Breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, I'm looking at your little Tupperware container, Mogi. How cute is that, Kesey? He's got a little bit of bread, a little tamati, and a little half of avocado. Fellas, yesterday I found myself getting a little bit hungry. Peckish. And distractingly hungry. And I was like, I can't concentrate on the show. I had to go next door and get myself a cheese scone. Yes. Delicious it was. But I thought today I'm just going to bring in a piece of sourdough, half an avocado. And a little tomato. A little tomato. But what you can't see there is I've got a fairly large knob of butter.
9:56Right, okay. Doesn't look that big, to be honest.
9:59Keyzie:What did you bring in, Keezy? I bet you seem bigger, Keezy, 100%. What foul concoction have you brought in? Nothing today. The poppy seed. Nothing, nothing. What?
10:08Mike Minogue:What are you talking about? Oh, you're talking about my chia seed pudding from two months ago. No, I didn't bring anything in today, just an up and go and a coffee.
10:16Keyzie:Right, okay.
10:17Mike Minogue:But I'll be sweet as. But what we want to know is what are you having for breakfast, New Zealand, on 3483. Pugs is putting together a horror of a prize pack out there. Yes. He's going to start dishing them out randomly. So 3483, what are you having for breakey? And where are you as well? Might even send out the ass of my tomato because that'll be left over after I have my piece of toast there if you want the ass of that. Yeah, 3483. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Holac.
10:51Keyzie:Sport Headlines with Bryn Rudkin. Time for your later Sport Headlines thanks to Export Ultra, the beer for here. Compelling performances from golfer Ryan Fox's playing group in the opening round of the European Tour's PGA Championship at Wentworth. Fox sits in a share of 7th after carding a 4-under par 68. I did, yeah. I haven't been on it yet. Beautiful. The new train underneath Auckland City. Yeah, it's just wonderful.
12:12Keyzie:Underground, it's phenomenal. First in the world. Unbelievable. Yeah, first ever. Yeah, world first, that one. So where did you ride it? Just up to one station, actually. You went one stop? Yeah, one stop. I actually didn't even leave the station. I then just got back out because I parked my car in the city, so I was a bit out of the way. Right, so you... My understanding is that you and your hoodlum mates, you go on the train there and you stand over people and you beat them up for their phones and stuff. Is that true? Yeah, I've got a lot of 16-year-olds that I'm friends with. Yeah, nice stuff.
12:43Mike Minogue:They're called the Nutskins. All right, good stuff, Bryn. Great review, mate, of the old train there. How many buzzies out of five would you give the CRL? Oh, I'd give it maybe 4.8. Wow. Wow. Oh, wow.
12:58Keyzie:4.8 buzzies. I reckon give it a go this weekend, fellas. Okay. Yeah, okay.
13:02Mike Minogue:Just the one stop? Yeah, preferably. About one kilometre? Yeah.
13:06Keyzie:Well, it's not safe. You know, there's hoodlums in the trains and stuff.
13:11Mike Minogue:Yeah, it's dangerous.
13:12Keyzie:Actually, I'll have to take pugs with me if I do it.
13:14Mike Minogue:Yeah, for security purposes.
13:16Keyzie:Yeah, yeah, for sure.
13:16Mike Minogue:In case Grim Nutskin shows up, takes your lunch money. Thanks, Bryn. Grim, I'll see you in an hour's time. Always a pleasure.

13:50Keyzie:Just to let everyone know, by the way, Mogi brought in a piece of bread which he promptly burnt.
13:55Mike Minogue:Yeah, a special little sourdough with avo and tamati.

16:59Keyzie:Kissinger.
16:59Mike Minogue:Yep. Oh, no, it's Matty.
17:02Keyzie:Kissinger.
17:04Mike Minogue:That's the one. I'm having a watermelon and strawberry vape with a coffee. That'll hold me until lunchtime when I have a fat boy feed it chicken and chips. Up the waas. Oh, backbone. Yeah, it is. She gets it. I'll tell you. Good stuff, man. Good stuff. Matty dog. Do you want another one? Yeah, quickly. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Yes, indeed.
17:25Keyzie:Welcome back to The Big Show. Breakfast this Friday morning. The time is 6.47. Kevin, Mogi, what's going on with your tui that's been bugging you every morning? Well, yeah, I mean, this is an issue I had last year, isn't it, Jase, where we had the tui that was sort of parked up in a big tree out the backyard. Yes. But it starts to chirp and then a tweet in there around about 4 o 'clock in the morning, particularly during spring and summer. Disappeared over the winter months. Haven't seen it for ages. I thought it might have been hit by a car. That would have been horrible. It would have been terrible.
17:57Mike Minogue:Well, I know a lot of birds, like, migrate, and some of them even change hemispheres and things like that. I think that's more in your North Americas. Yeah, it's not so much down here, certainly not with a tui, but I was hoping it had just gone to Waiheke or something like that. Yes. Lots of nicer places it could be living in around my joint keeping me awake.
18:12Keyzie:Mogi, without a word of a lie, I was up at 3 o 'clock this morning sitting in my lounge and what did I hear? Yes. A tui. And the weird thing about it is there's no real trees around my joint. the only trees there are palm trees. Yes. So what's a tui doing in a palm tree at three in the morning for God's sake? Well, lying on you. That's what I've got in my backyard is a palm tree. Oh, really? Yeah.
18:38Mike Minogue:Oh, actually, no. Yeah, there's a palm tree near my house, and it's full of birds. They love it. They absolutely love it. Because I think maybe they're hot. I'm not too sure what it is. I'm not too sure. Oh, you're being serious. A thousand percent, I am. Wow. A thousand percent. And so anyway, the bastard chirps like nothing. And we came up with the idea yesterday that we put a bird bath in. and a disco ball and a whole bunch of things to try and distract it. Jacuzzi. A jacuzzi to try and get it distracted. So it could actually, sorry, so it could attract a mate. Yeah, because it's a dude. But then I had a look there this morning because the reason why it makes a noise, Kesey, is because it's trying to attract a mate.
19:13It's horny. Anyway, it's got four female tui in its nest as it is. So I think what he's doing is skiding when he's chirping like that. He's telling the whole neighbour, he's like, look at this.
19:25Mike Minogue:Have a gaze at this. So he's running a bit of a Pugsans setup. He is running an absolute Pugsans setup. He's got it sorted, to be honest. The next step is going to be ask a bit of advice off him. Far out. Yeah, nice. Oh, it's good to hear that the Tui's doing well or whatever and loving it.
19:39Keyzie:Absolutely caning it. Yeah.
19:41Mike Minogue:Sorry to hear that for you in your sleep, though.
19:44Keyzie:Hiya. How do you feel about a bit of She Hard?
19:47Mike Minogue:Yeah.
19:48Keyzie:Let's do it.
19:49Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
19:55Keyzie:She-Hard there on the big show. Breakfast this Friday morning. The time is 6.53.
19:59Mike Minogue:Fellas, we've tuned up with the TAB to run the three-way that pays. We joined together with a listener. We choose two legs of a three-leg multi. They then choose the third leg. We put$100 bonus cash onto it. If it's successful, they take home the winnings. Now, we've got a caller on the line. G'day, Jackson. How are you going? Yeah, good, mate. How are you? Yeah, good, thanks, mate.
20:19Keyzie:Hey, tell me, Jackson, what do you do for a crust, mate?
20:22Mike Minogue:I'm a builder. Oh, yeah. Oh, backbone. Backbone. back, mate. Whereabouts in Christchurch, are you, mate? Prebleton. Prebleton. Oh, fancy. Is it? Yeah, nice. Nice little spot there, Prebleton. So, Jackson, the way this works, I've chosen two legs of a three-leg multi. Now, I have chosen the Warriors to win and Alofiana Khan Pereira to score a try, right? Because I want this thing to hopefully come in. Can you tell me what your third leg is? Okay, my third leg is Jacob Laban to score. Right, okay, Jacob Laban to score. Right, okay. Off air, Pugs was saying that you chose Tanner Stowers Smith to score.
21:03Mike Minogue:I don't think it's ever scored a try ever. I was thinking that, but then I thought, nah, money boy Laban. All right, sweet as. So that's going to pay$5.68 if that comes in, mate. You'll be rich as, Jackson. You'll be rich as, you'll be able to quit, man. Yeah, totally. Buy a second house in Prevoldon, all right? Yeah, cheers, man. Up the wires. Up the wires, mate. Well done. So that is locked in. That's a good multi, in my opinion. Download the TAB app to get your bet on. Teas and C's apply. R18. Bet responsibly, fellas. Yeah, good stuff. How are you feeling about the WARS game, Mogi? Well, I'm feeling better about the WARS than I am about your gambling keys.
21:37You say that's a good multi. You've won one out of about a thousand bets that you've put on. I was going to say, Mogi. But I like your confidence, and I have confidence in the WARS. I'll be completely honest with you. The evidence of the last six weeks isn't great. No, it's not. It's not at all. We are not a team that's getting better and better week on week. There's a period where we were. So, look, I feel like we should, but based on the last time we played Newcastle, which was about a month ago, they were 18-0 up or 16-0 up after about 10 minutes. Yes. Then they had a player sent off for the entire game.
22:11That's right. And we managed to scrape past them. They played with 12 players for about 60-65 minutes, and we just beat them. So, yeah, I don't know, man.
22:24Keyzie:I've got to be honest with you. I think because of their last game, they're going to come out fired up. They're going to fire all their shots. So I'm feeling very, very confident. They've certainly got the team to do it. They've got the team to do it. They've got a team that played unbelievably well against Penrith. My issue is we keep seeing them play not particularly well and keep saying they're going to come out fired up. And then they don't really. But, jeez, God, I hope they win, man, because it's one step closer to the grand final, which I've got tickets and flights for. Yeah, true that.
22:52Mike Minogue:Bit of hole? A nervous, Keezy.
22:55Keyzie:Bit of hole?
22:56Mike Minogue:Yeah.
22:57Keyzie:Okay.
23:00Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
23:06Keyzie:You're welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Friday morning's absolutely going off. You're listening to The Big Show Breakfast, incidentally. Brought to you by Bunnings Trade.
23:21Mike Minogue:Build big rewards with new Power Pass Pro Rewards by Bunnings.
23:31Keyzie:I actually might drop into Bunnings before I go to your joint tomorrow, actually, Keezy. A bit of stuff I need around the place. I actually stopped in there on the way into work this morning. Oh, you did? Yeah.
23:41Mike Minogue:Was it open? Yeah. They're open all the time. It's extraordinary. I know the guy that runs the one out in Gray Lindley, Eddie.
23:49Keyzie:Oh, Eddie? Yeah, he opens it up for me. I got a toaster and a bird bath and a few beers.
24:00Mike Minogue:At five in the morning. I was about 4.30. 4.30. I was already up, and I thought I'd just go to Bunnings. I've got a bit of time now before I go to the radio. Gave Eddie a ring. He's already down there. He doesn't really sleep, Eddie. Do you know what he does, man? He lives and breathes the Bunnings Power Pass. Totally, man. Is that what it's called? The Power Pass Pro, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Wasn't he a big factor? He doesn't have the Pro. He's like, I'm old school. I'm just on the old Power Pass. Yeah, right. Yeah. It sounds like he should move to the Pro and build some big rewards. You don't tell Eddie what to do, man.
24:35God, no.
24:37Mike Minogue:Right, okay, well. Why not? Old Eddie. Huh? Why not? Oh, he's deaf. Oh. Yeah. Well, not literally deaf. He just doesn't listen. Yeah. Oh, you did that. We call him old deaf Eddie, but he's not really deaf. He just can't be bothered, Keezy. Yeah, right. You know what I mean? But he'll be down there at four. Yeah, okay. Yeah, but he loves customer service. Yes. Yeah. But he's old school.
25:00Keyzie:You guys keen on a bit of Bush? Yeah.
25:03Mike Minogue:Oh, they played last night. Last night, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I wonder if Eddie went. 3483, if you went to the gig, let us know how it was, by the way. Yes, please. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. One simple question. one weekend of a lifetime. Would you rather?
25:23Keyzie:Yes, indeed. Wars or cars, you decide, New Zealand. Just a reminder too, by the way, if you don't get in today, we're going to be doing it all through the weekend as well because we're giving that prize away Monday morning on breakfast, which is us. Bloody exciting stuff there, fellas. We've been talking about it for weeks and it's getting to the pointy end there. Sure is.
25:43Mike Minogue:Of course, it's Bathurst, Mount Panorama or the NRL Grand Final which the WARS could be at. Will be at. Hopefully. Damn it, they will be at it. Yeah. BoysTrip.co.nz putting every package together and it includes flights, accommodation, transfers, little bonus goodies and things like that. So it's a hell of a prize to win, fellas. Let's go to the Lions.
26:05Keyzie:Yeah, let's do it. G'day Richard, you mad bastard. How's life? You all good here? Good on you, mate. Tell me, Richard, what do you do for a crust? Uh, teacher. Oh, yeah. Backbone. Backbone. What sort of age are we talking here? Oh, range. Actually, I'm system principal, so I don't really teach too many. Don't read to you. Good on you, man. Fair enough. Yeah, good on you, man. Feet up on the desk. Well, they're bloody annoying kids, aren't they? Yeah. Do you enjoy a good school production, mate? Uh, don't mind helping out and watching. Oh, yeah. If you have to. Yeah, good stuff. Good on you, mate.
26:39Keyzie:All right, Richard, what are you going for? Wars or cars?
26:44Mike Minogue:I'll go for the NRL fond.
26:46Keyzie:Yeah, good on you, mate.
26:47Mike Minogue:Grand final. All right, Richard, you are in the draw, my friend. Good luck. Thank you.
26:52Keyzie:Good on you, mate. G'day, Jackie. How's life? Good. How are you guys? Yeah, very good. Thank you. Have you had brekkie yet, Jackie?
27:00Mike Minogue:Yeah. Biscuit and a cup of tea. Oh, yeah, nice. Wait, what was it? Sorry? Biscuit. A biscuit. Ah, look. Now, what biscuit are you rolling with for breakfast these days there in dear Jackie? Just the raisin cookies. Oh, a raisin cookie. Do you make those yourself? No, not that good. Yeah, good on you. Good on you. Now, when are you going to eat again? Because a raisin cookie is not going to see you through too long, I wouldn't have thought.
27:24Keyzie:Oh, see me through to lunch. Will it? Oh, wow. Good on you. You're a backbone. That's a backbone.
27:28Mike Minogue:What's for lunch? Like a Shrewsbury? Probably.
27:33Keyzie:Jackie, the grand final or Bathurst? Where are you headed?
27:36Mike Minogue:Bathurst, please.
27:38Keyzie:Nice.
27:39Mike Minogue:Nice. Awesome. They have bickies over at Mount Panorama, Jackie, all right? So you'll be fine. Oh, that's great. You're sorted. You're in the drawer. You hold the line. Good luck. Cheers. Good on you, Jackie. Well, she'd be a cheap date, wouldn't she, old Jackie? Totally. A couple of biscuits.
27:54Keyzie:I'm not a big fan of the raisin, though. You know what I mean? In a biscuit? Even in a biscuit.
27:59Mike Minogue:That's where they're supposed to be, in biscuits. I think they're supposed to be in one of those little packets, those little sun-made packets of raisins. Yes. You take to school and that's a little snack and you get your tiny little kid's finger in there. Yes. I'm talking about when you were a kid, not some other kid. And then you're digging out those little treats there, chewing them down, then turn it into a whistle. Whistle, yeah, yeah, I remember that. It's covered in spit and all that and then you just throw it on the classroom floor or whatever. Oh, good. Is it an Anzac biki that has raisins in it?
28:30Keyzie:No. Isn't it? No. It's got your coconut.
28:33Mike Minogue:It's got like an oat kind of cookie. Oat, yes. Yes. What is that?
28:37Keyzie:A raisin biscuit? Come on, man.
28:40Mike Minogue:That's the one.
28:40Keyzie:Pull yourself together, Keezy, for God's sake. Guns.
28:46Mike Minogue:Roses. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
28:52Keyzie:Guns. Roses there on the Big Show. Breakfast this Friday morning. The time is 7.25. Coming up very soon, the big reveal for what's come dine with the fellas, the Keezy edition. Come Dine With The Feelings.
29:11Mike Minogue:That's right. And for breakfast show listeners who aren't familiar, basically, Mogey, you're obsessed with Come Dine With Me for a while there, the TV show, British TV show. Great show. And so you decided it would be a good idea for all of us to host Come Dine With Me, score it properly on your entree, your main, your dessert, and entertainment as well. And sort of doing it month by month, you started us off a couple of months ago, Hot Pot Mogey. Yes. Did a delicious Szechuan Chinese hot pot. Yep. It was very, very nice. Jase, you were most recent. You did a late winter Christmas. I did. A little ham there.
29:45Mike Minogue:Run-of-the-mill sort of.
29:47Keyzie:A very, very delicious meal it was.
29:50Mike Minogue:A packet of champagne, ham, and just like some taties and duck fat. It's my turn, and my theme is Italy, because, Jase, you've never been to Italy, and you simply must go.
30:00Keyzie:He's sort of rubbing it in, isn't he? He is a little bit. Yeah. I'm not happy about it.
30:06Mike Minogue:Sweet, I'm sure
30:06Keyzie:It's patronising, can I put it that way? Yes
30:09Mike Minogue:Am I going to get Mark down for that, for being patronising?
30:12Keyzie:Already you are
30:13Mike Minogue:Okay, cool So the announcement is going to be happening soon Of the official menu, this is happening tomorrow And if you haven't seen either Mogie's or Jace's Come down with me, head to the Hodaki Big Show Instagram there They are pinned to the top Watch him And you wrap your head around it for old Keezy's debut
30:30Keyzie:Yeah, he's under pressure, isn't he, Mogie? He really is Because we really nailed it There's always one shitter. There's got to be one disaster for sure.
30:38Mike Minogue:No, there's not going to be. It's going to be great. This should be good. The Hauraki Breakfast with these Muppets.
30:50Sport Headlines with Bryn Rudkin. Time for your latest Sport Headlines thanks to Export Ultra, the beer for here. Golfer Ryan Fox is within two shots of the lead at the European Tour's PGA Championship after carding a 4 under par 68 during the opening round at Wentworth. Great stuff. Very good. Bryn Rutkin. A late change could be brewing in the Knights line-up to play the Warriors on Sunday. Initially written off for the season due to surgery, back rower Dylan Lucas could now recover just in time to face the Wires at Eden Park. That's interesting. I'm not scared. Because I heard the coach say that he was no chance of playing.
31:30Really? And he said, oh, we might put him on the six-man bench. It's funny, isn't it? By the time you read it, Grim, you completely changed the whole storyline and now he's starting. You're a shocking bastard. I just read what's on my emails here. That's a phone.
31:45Keyzie:Yeah. I'm not happy with you reading it from your phone either. It should be on pieces of paper, like a proper, proper bulletin. Hard copy. How are you going to finish off your sports roundup if you don't at the end of it, take your pieces of paper and then tap them on the piece? I have an issue with that because the printer access, I was never given it. Oh, right. Right, okay. I've got a printer at home. Great. Which I could bring. We'll bring it in. Could you wear a tie as well? Because it's just not doing it for me at the moment. Well, I like the outfit because he is wearing it for the world.
32:15Sorry to talk about you like you're not here, Grim. Sorry about that, Rim. But they've got a real pyjama vibe. They've got a real silk pyjama vibe to them. And I don't come into work to be aroused by the sports newsreader.
32:29Mike Minogue:I don't mind it. Guys, can we let Rim Butkin finish the news, please? Rim Butkin. Oh, we can just leave it there.
32:37Keyzie:No, no. I want to know the last one. Come on, man. I've got one more story here. Are we ready? Yes. The Brisbane Olympics rowing and canoeing has been confirmed for the Fitzroy River in Rockhampton, but there are concerns about the current flow as well as crocodiles. Big butt face. They also have quite a few steamer issues. Yeah. Do they really? Yeah. Some floating logs.
33:02Mike Minogue:And the brown, what do they call it? The brown snake. The brown snake. The brown snake. Hey, Bryn, if you were hosting a dinner party, man, and you had to cook everyone a main, what would you make? What are you good at cooking? Do you have a speciality? Like a grim nutskin sort of go-to meal. Do you know, I recently made an avocado cheesecake. Oh, sounds foul. What a grim.
33:22Keyzie:Delicious. Don't invite me around to your place, thanks You can invite me
33:28Mike Minogue:Would you come?
33:30Keyzie:No
33:31Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki
33:35Keyzie:Soundgarden there on the Big Show Breakfast this Friday morning The time is 7.38 Which means it's time for Come dine with The Feelers Yeah
33:54Mike Minogue:It's time for old Keezy to reveal the menu. Ahead of tomorrow's Come Dine With Me, Keezy edition. We're going to Italy, fellas. We are going to Italy. Where is Italy? West Auckland, isn't it? Yes. Deep West Auckland. Just in Teatatu there. That's going to kind of kill the vibe for me, but let's see what the menu is. Yes, for sure. Just think of it as like the part of Italy where it's kind of run by the gangs a wee bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Rough. And there's just like rubbish and stuff. Because there are parts of Italy like that. Oh, yeah. You get there and it's, you know. Is there? 100%. Although not inside Tony's Trattoria Which is the The name of it there Hey so for entree For entree Alright Yes We will be having Margarita skewers
34:44Mike Minogue:Skewer So it's got prosciutto ham on it there Cherry tomato basil Some beautiful buffalo mozzarella Nice so those are quite nice, refreshing.
34:54Keyzie:Yeah. Good stuff, man. How many? I don't know.
34:59Mike Minogue:However many it makes. I haven't made it yet. Right. That's going to be interesting.
35:03Keyzie:Jeez, that's going to be a disaster. Cool.
35:06Mike Minogue:That's good stuff. For the main, and everyone in Italy is eating this all the time. Oh, God. A hearty beef lasagna. Wow. Okay. Just like Nonna used to make. Yeah, nice. Now, the reason it's just like Nonna used to make is because it is, in fact, the recipe that my wife's mum makes. That won't stop me giving it a three out of ten. No, it'll probably encourage you to. Vegetarian option, Tony's cannelloni. Yeah, nice. It's a beautiful spinach ricotta cannelloni. Very, very nice recipe that my wife and I have perfected over the years. However, I made it this time. So it'll be interesting to see how that goes.
35:55Mike Minogue:Have you already made it? I made it last night. Right, okay.
35:57Keyzie:So it'll be a bit old by the time it comes out. Sure, man.
36:01Mike Minogue:Just being old doesn't mean it's bad, though, Jase.
36:03Keyzie:Yeah, true.
36:06Mike Minogue:And tonight I will be making the dessert, which is a tiramisu. Oh, yeah. You've kind of got to go there, don't you? Yeah. Nice. Because the thing with Come Dine With Me is you've got to, like, as you guys will know, and Pugs, you won't know this yet, but you've got to make sure that everything can be cooked at the right time. Yes. Because if I'm in there making a dessert while you guys are, you know, that's not what you want.
36:26Keyzie:No, man.
36:26Mike Minogue:Sounds good, Keezy. Thoughts, feelings? Yeah, good. Mike? Bloody good. I'm interested in the lasagna, I've got to say. I'm interested in the lasagna because that's very New Zealand Italian.
36:39Keyzie:Yeah. You know what I mean? It's very West Auckland Italian. Yeah, exactly. It's like if I was going to somebody's house in West Auckland, and they said we're doing Italian night, I'd think to myself, this bogan's going to make lasagna. Yeah. And here we are.
36:50Mike Minogue:Well, it's funny because I was watching out... This bogan's making us lasagna. I was watching Outrageous Fortress last night. Were they doing that? And Wolf West, who's on home detention, made a lasagna. And I was like, okay, cool. How good. And the West house is literally like a few hundred metres away from my house. Oh, it's good stuff. I can't wait. It's going to be great. You know, as we've already discussed, all joking aside, it's a great chance to get together and have a feed. Yes. Ourselves and the partners and we don't know it enough. So both occasions have been fantastic. It's going to be great no matter what.
37:20And the great thing about it is if the food's great, awesome. Yeah, bonus. If the food's not great, even better.
37:26Mike Minogue:Yes. Cool, yeah, I'm so confident now heading into this, fellas. It's going to be great. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday Throbber Doosh Doosh Your taste is like a gunslinger on that Doosh Doosh Yeah man It's hilarious
37:57Keyzie:The Friday Throbber Some of you may be asking what is that exactly Well each of us here in the studio we choose a song to get you in the Friday mood don't we fellas Yeah We do We just do And we've been doing it for years and years and years. We have, yes. I think this is our sixth year of doing it. It was there every single week, every single Friday. This is what we do. Sometimes we've had ups, sometimes we've had downs. Yes, we have. It feels like we're in a good period at the moment.
38:26Mike Minogue:That's right. The way you vote is you call us on 0800 Hauraki, you tell us which song you want to hear played in full. First to two votes wins, fellas. Who wants to go first today? Look, I'll go first. This is a ripper. I haven't heard it for ages. Crank it up. It rules.
38:40Keyzie:My next number, I'd like to return to the classic.
38:51Little bit of blind spot, little bit of nil by mouth, fellas.
38:55Mike Minogue:Great stuff, man. Yeah, it is a tune, actually. Jase, what about you, man?
39:01Keyzie:Well, what I chose. Oh, God. This isn't going to be. This is going to be the night after the game on Sunday.
39:24Keyzie:Yeah, boy. Pearl Jam. What are they? Rareview Mirror.
39:28Mike Minogue:The nights are going to be in our Rareview Mirror. Yeah, man. That's good stuff. Thanks, mate. That's great stuff, fellas. On the show, if in doubt, pick head like a hole.
39:48Keyzie:Sorry, I'm nodding off here.
39:55Mike Minogue:Cry and shame, head like a whole tune. Tune.
39:59Keyzie:Great stuff. Well, you decide, New Zealand. Give us a call now on 0800 Hauraki and we'll get into it after a bit of Queens of the Stone Age.
40:08Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday Throbber
40:18Keyzie:Doosh, doosh Yes indeed, the Friday Throbber Three tunes I reckon fellas Pretty good today Oh great tunes
40:25Mike Minogue:Yeah I'm happy regardless Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Well let's play my one first A little bit of Blindspot A little bit of Nell by Mouth It's time to return to the classics Doosh
40:44Keyzie:Yeah, a bit of blind spot.
40:46Mike Minogue:Don't mind it. Love it. Don't hear enough of it, to be honest. Agree. Jase?
40:51Keyzie:Yeah, bit of Pearl Jam. Absolute tune, absolute all-time, one of my favourite Pearl Jam songs. I played it from the start, though. It's a mistake. Doosh, doosh, doosh.
41:08Mike Minogue:Yeah, you're right. He should have played it from the good bit. Yeah. Yeah, but that's okay. He's learning. Well, he's not, really. He's doing the same shit as always. Hey, fellas, I went head like a hole, a crying shame.
41:28Keyzie:Yeah.
41:37Keyzie:Yes, indeed. Well, you decide, New Zealand. Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Brayden, you mad bastard. How's life? Good, good. How are we? Yeah, good, thanks, mate. Good, thanks. What are you running with there, Brayden? I've got to go with you, old jizzbot. Oh, okay. Good stuff. Yeah, good on you, mate. Look at you. Genuinely surprised. Yeah, I am. Can't believe it. I am. I thought he was going to go mogie. It's been a while. Thanks, Brayden. Good on you, Brayden, you backbone. G'day, Brad, you mad bastard. How's life? Oh, g'day, fellas. Yeah, good, thanks, mate. How's the greens today? A bit wet?
42:07Mike Minogue:No, they've dried up miraculously here, so we're going to trim the pews today and we'll be good. Yeah, nice stuff, mate.
42:14Keyzie:What are you running with there?
42:16Mike Minogue:I'm going to go old cheesy. Good on you, Brad, the greenskeeper from Christchurch. You have a good one, mate. You too, fellas.
42:24Keyzie:Good on you, mate. G'day, Alex, you mad bastard. How's life? Oh, it's pretty good, mate. How are you? Yeah, good, thanks, mate. Good, good. What are you running with there, Alex? It's got to be Keezy.
42:35Mike Minogue:Good night, Alex. Dadoosh. Have a ripper, mate. Oh, there you go. To be honest, man, it's been a while. Yeah, it has. Yeah, I've been dominating, to be fair. It feels like ages. Okay. You must have had your hopes up there, Hoity J. I feel like you're on the verge of a rare victory and then Keezy snaps it out of your grasp. I try and stay neutral on this sort of stuff, Mogi.
42:58Keyzie:You know what I mean? I don't get too emotional about it. Just play it, will you?
43:04Mike Minogue:Head like a hole, the winner of the Throbber The Hauraki Big Show With Jase, Mike and Keezy Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki
43:14Keyzie:Yes indeed, super groove there on the Big Show Breakfast This Friday morning The time is 20 minutes past 8 o 'clock Just a quick score update on the Throbber there Because I've lost track, Keezy Have you?
43:24Mike Minogue:Yeah Okay, well I don't know why you'd ask me that Because you're coming last But Mogi's winning on 16 wins Kesey's second on 11 now with an asterisk. And, Jase, you're coming third with seven wins, two asterisks and a small D.
43:39Keyzie:Okay.
43:41Mike Minogue:You happy we did that?
43:42Keyzie:Yeah, that's great stuff, fellas. I still feel very confident, actually, that I'm going to pull through by the end of the year. Yeah, good luck. You know what I mean? Yeah.
43:49Mike Minogue:So to beat Mogey, you'd have to win 10 straight throbbers. Yes. Well, probably 12 or 13 once you're taking into account the two small Ds and the two asterisks. Which are, yeah, pretty much cheating. So you get a point struck off. Yeah. Kind of, but not super, you know.
44:05Keyzie:Yeah, good stuff.
44:05Mike Minogue:We're not super strict on it, though.
44:07Keyzie:Hey, Nalkisi, you're selling your house, or you've sold your house, haven't you?
44:11Mike Minogue:Yeah, I've sold, man. And I have to be out by the end of October. Yes. And I don't really have anywhere to go at the moment. So I'm hoping a good house pops up soon.
44:18Keyzie:Yeah, well, I've been thinking, because I might have to move out of my joint by the end of the year. So we'll both be looking for a house. Yeah, the apartment there. thinking about maybe you and I pooling our resources, you know, you with your across the ditch sort of money and me with my dog squad money, and, you know, maybe moving in together.
44:39Mike Minogue:You know, you said the name of that five-year-old TV show wrong. It's just The Ditch. Oh, The Ditch, yeah. And no one watched it. That's why it's cancelled and I was fired. Right, so what are your resources? Because you still own your house. Yes, I do. Whereas I'll be coming into it with a whole house worth of sort of savings and you know what I mean?
44:54Keyzie:Yes. but I'm thinking rental rather than buy. So you think... Because I don't want to buy a house with you and find out that you're a piece of work to live with. You know what I mean? I don't know how long I can put up with a midnight steamer, for example. Well, why don't we just not do it? Well, I just want to... You know, I'll give you an opportunity. An opportunity to what?
45:13Mike Minogue:Move in with you? What? This sounds like a terrible idea. I wouldn't do it if I was you guys. Yeah, well, I can already see some tensions building up. Yeah, but you're not even moving in together. You're just suggesting it. The suggestion of it, and you're both sort of firing up at each other. Yeah, totally. Well, all he's done is say the TV show is sacked from wrong, accuse me of doing midnight steamers, say he just wants to rent because he thinks that it'll be horrible to live with me. Yes. You know what I mean? Yeah. Well, I mean, if you can't take a bit of constructive criticism, Keezy, then I think we just give the whole thing a miss.
45:43Keyzie:Yeah, I mean, I was just trying to help out. I mean, I was trying to help out, Keezy. You know what I'm saying? I mean, you've got nowhere to go, Keezy. Jase has kindly offered to move into a house with you, and then you just fire up at him. And on national radio. Yeah, totally, man.
45:57Mike Minogue:No, you're right. He's trying to find solutions here, and all you'll find are problems.
46:02Keyzie:And the thing is, too, I mean, how good would it be if we finish the show, you know, in the afternoon there, and then I go home and you've cooked a hearty beef lasagna? You know what I mean? And some margarita skewers. I mean, I'd be fired up about that.
46:17Mike Minogue:You're right. That does sound better than me and my wife just moving into a place together. Me cooking for you. Yeah, that'd be great. And renting. when I'm trying to buy something. Yeah, no, that's good. OK, let's do it, Jay. Sorry to fire up, mate. That's actually a great idea.
46:29Keyzie:I don't want to do it now, actually. Here's Placebo.
46:34Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
46:42Sport Headlines with Brim Rodkin. Mmm-mm. Time for your latest Sport Headlines, thanks to Export Ultra, the bear for here. The Breakers will be unleashing bombs in basketball's ANBL this season. The club starts its season at home against the Hawks this Sunday with a new coach, line-up and attitude. So what was the first line there? The Breakers will be unleashing bombs, Mogey. What does that mean? I'm just reading what's on the paper here.
47:13Mike Minogue:Who wrote what's on the paper? I mean, I printed it. I finally got access to the printers here. Congratulations. Yeah, well done, man. I'm just wondering about that. There's a headline. They're releasing bombs, and then there's nothing really in the story that says that they are releasing bombs. I think it's like a sports sort of colloquialism. Right, they're releasing bombs. It means going poos. Oh, does it? Yeah.
47:34Keyzie:Steamers, right. I don't know if that's... What, on the court?
47:38Mike Minogue:No, I don't know, man. I have no idea. Do you know Bryn? Look, it's an interesting thing you raise, but I'm going to move on. Okay. If you don't mind. Okay. Otago have beaten counties Manukau 50-21 to open round eight of Rugby's NPC. Some good stuff happening there. Jim Hubcap. Who was your man of the match in that game there, Jim? Old Tana. Yeah. Yeah. Ooh-ah. Yeah. Mmm. And if you're thinking of buying a resold Warriors ticket for Sunday's sold-out semifinal at Eden Park, be careful, Jase. Be careful, Jase. Okay. Some fans paid up to five times the original price for tickets to last week's game.
48:23Jase made an absolute fortune off that. Totally, man. He sold about 1 ,000 tickets. Are you a scalper?
48:29Keyzie:Yeah, totally, man. Money for jam, he calls it. And not five times, ten times. Wow. Because I tell you, I don't know if you guys know this, but there's some rabid fans out there. They'll pay anything for a WARS ticket. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You feel bad, man? Nah. It's good stuff. Where have you got the tickets from? None of your business, Bryn. The market decides the value. Yeah, exactly. So if people are willing to pay it, is it such a bad thing?
48:54Mike Minogue:Yeah, that's such a good point. Hey, Chimp Jungles. Chimp Jungles. Thanks so much for coming in, man. We appreciate it. Yeah. We'll see you on Monday.
49:02Keyzie:We'll see you on Monday. Oh, okay. Yeah. Could you wear a tie when you come on Monday?
49:07Mike Minogue:I'll see. I'll see.
49:08Keyzie:Yeah, good stuff, mate.
49:09Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
49:14Keyzie:It is a simple question. Was or cars is your choice. and it's been going off this competition, fellas. We're going to make a big announcement on that on Monday to give it away. How good. When you say Waz or cars, man, what do you mean? Bathurst or the NRL grand final? Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
49:33Mike Minogue:Flights, accommodation, transfers, everything taken care of. Are you still confident, Mogi, that the Waz are going to be there, man? No. I'm not confident. I absolutely want to be there. Back them, yada, yada, yada. it doesn't make you a Judas if you don't have a lot of faith but based on current form I'm not really selling it You've bought tickets That's how much I was selling it man I bought tickets to the grand final I bought flights So I'm going It's all on Evan and Jeff and if they're not there who wants to watch other teams play in then celebrate the only good part would be watching the team that lost Yes But you want them both to lose if it's not your team I've got no interest in watching other teams So you will still go?
50:20I'll probably go, but I won't go. I'll go to Sydney, but I'm not going to go to the Grand Final. I wouldn't even watch it.
50:25Keyzie:Just sell the tickets at an inflated price, man. No, no, I'd rather deprive a fan of one of the two teams the ability to see their team win the Grand Final. Yeah, good stuff. That's what I'd rather do. That's great stuff. God, we better win, man. Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Ben, you mad bastard. How's life?
50:41Mike Minogue:Yeah, g'day, fellas. Not bad. How are you?
50:43Keyzie:Yeah, good, thanks, mate. What do you do for a crust, Ben? I am a sales person. Oh, yeah. Now, you've got a shocking product that you're slinging there, man. Is it bad for humanity or just individuals?
50:58Mike Minogue:It could be a bit of both. It's bare. Oh, okay. Nothing wrong with that, man. Yeah, this guy. Nothing wrong with that. He's good as gold, Ben. Hey, Ben, you thinking bad thirst or the NRL grand final, man? I'm thinking NRL, and, yeah, if the wires aren't there, I'll just go sulk in a pub somewhere.
51:14Keyzie:Yeah, that's the one. Yeah, sounds good, man.
51:16Mike Minogue:Good stuff. All right, you are in the draw, Ben. Good luck, mate. Good on you, mate.
51:20Keyzie:G'day, Sean, you mad bastard. How's life? Yeah, not too bad, Hoody J. Not too bad, mate. Good on you, mate. What do you do for a crust? Dog handler.
51:31Mike Minogue:Oh, backbone. Massive backbone. Yeah. How good. Hey, Sean, are you thinking Bad Thirst or Grand Final? It's got to be the wires, mate. It's got to be the wires. Yeah, totally. He's got no doubts, man.
51:42Keyzie:Who are you going to take with you if you win there, Sean?
51:45Mike Minogue:It had to be his little brother. He's a mad fan since way back. Good stuff.
51:51Keyzie:Good on you, Sean.
51:52Mike Minogue:All right, you're in the draw, Sean. Good luck, mate. Cheers, fellas. Good on you, mate. Thanks, mate. Should we do a third person? Yeah, let's do it, man. Why not?
51:58Keyzie:G'day, Zach, you mad bastard. How's life? Not bad, fellas, yourself? Yeah, good, thanks, mate. Good, good. So you're in Christchurch. Does that mean you're a builder?
52:08Mike Minogue:Just a bloody machine operator, mate. Oh, yeah. Bloody backbone operator.
52:13Keyzie:Massive backbone.
52:14Mike Minogue:Are you into your cars, Zach, or are you into your rugby league? Warriors 13 plus, mate. Oh, that's the spirit, man.
52:21Keyzie:That's the spirit. Good stuff.
52:23Mike Minogue:Okay, you're in the draw, Zach. You hold the line, man. Good luck. Cheers.
52:27Keyzie:All right. Just a reminder, too, that we'll be pumping this over the weekend. So if you haven't got in the draw yet, the chance is Saturday, Sunday. Yes, that's right. Very, very good to get in the draw.
52:39Mike Minogue:And then Monday morning we will be announcing it on the Hodaki Breakfast Show. We will be hosting Brekkie for one more day on the Monday there. Oh, we're doing Monday, are we? Yeah, is that all G? Oh, God.
52:48Keyzie:Pretty busy on Monday.
52:49Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
52:54Keyzie:Yes, indeed, the offspring there on the Big Show breakfast this Friday morning. The time is 8.49, which means it's time for...
53:04Mike Minogue:What's on the news? With me, Keezy. Fellas, just reading an article about a chap from Auckland who was a car dealer. Yes. And he fled to Mexico because he was wanted by the New Zealand police. Right, okay. That was to do with drug trafficking. Yeah. Now, while in Mexico, he was then arrested at one of the airports there by the DEA in the United States. Yes. Taken to the States and is now facing life imprisonment in the States instead.
53:33Keyzie:Right, okay.
53:35Mike Minogue:But I was thinking, like, you know, like, for example, Jase, if your drug trafficking ring was found out. Gets busted. Yeah. Yeah. Which hopefully it doesn't. Well, it's Warriors scalping he's mostly doing. Oh, have you pivoted completely to Warriors tickets? Pretty much. 70-30. Yeah, okay. So he's still slinging a bit. But if you had to flee the country, where would you go?
53:55Keyzie:Well, of course, Mexico is your go-to for a lot of people, especially in the States. I would, because I've thought about this. Well, it's because it's over the border. Yeah, that's right. We don't have the border. We don't. I have to say push and shove. If push came to shove. Yes. Rather than push and shove. I'd go Vietnam. Vietnam, yeah, 100%. It's cheap as chips.
54:18Mike Minogue:It's the one place you've been.
54:20Keyzie:And it's also a place where you can easily get lost. You know what I mean? No one would ever find you in Vietnam. You did frequently. Even you couldn't find you in Vietnam when you were there. Thank God for Google Maps. Yeah. You were in a mall. That's right. But yeah, I'd go, or maybe Bali.
54:38Mike Minogue:Bali? Yes. Just do Avicii and go to Bali, I guess. Yeah, fair enough. What about you, Moggy? Look, I like New Zealand. I like New Zealand, so I'd want to stick around here. Maybe Kapiti, Kapiti Island. Oh, yes. Because nobody goes there, you see. I sort of think, because I've been watching a lot of the survivalist show alone. and of course they've got a sort of a little bit of a nature reserve over there. Yes. Your kiwi your kakapo your kia etc I reckon it'll be pretty good eating over there and they've got the odd hut round there and one of those things where you could just sort of sneak into you know the odd dock hut that sort of thing and just sort of live that way and then I can just pop over to Paraparaumu which is just off the coast there and Do you still be able to go to the movies?
55:30Yeah. Get a packet of darts, et cetera, et cetera?
55:35Keyzie:I've fantasized about, just on that, Mogi, just sort of doing batches. Oh, yeah. You know how people never go and stay in their batches? Yes.
55:44Mike Minogue:Rich Aucklanders have empty batches all over the country. All over the shop.
55:46Keyzie:So I would just sort of break in from batch to batch to batch, maybe. That would be my other alternative would be Waiheke Island. Nice. Because we lived on a street over there, and there's only four permanent residents. There's about 100 houses. They just sat empty the entire year, maybe a week or two over the New Year's break, and that would be a lot. Yeah, good. So that'd be me. That'd be me on it.
56:06Mike Minogue:Just squatting in fancy houses. Totally. What about you, Kesey? I'd probably go to somewhere in Southeast Asia, I think. Yes. Maybe a Thailand. Yeah, probably a Thailand, I think. Bangkok. Maybe. Oh, the place. Yeah, yeah, totally. 3483. Where would you run away to if the cops were after you? Let us know.
56:32Keyzie:Yeah, good stuff, mate. Oh, bit of David Bowie for you.
56:38Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Your NRL finals forecasts on the Hauraki Breakfast with TAB.
56:51Keyzie:Yes, indeed. I'm fizzing for this game, fellas. I'm very excited about it. Genuinely.
56:56Mike Minogue:Well, that's the thing. The Wars playing Sunday, but of course, Saturday, the Roosters and the Sharks are also playing. They're in the same predicament. If they lose, they are out. If they win, they are through to the next round of the finals. And the finals forecast is with TAB. What happens is you call through 0800 Hodaki. You instantly get$100 cash. You also get$100 bonus cash, which we then put on their finals footy prediction. Yeah, nice. Let's go to the Lions now.
57:20Keyzie:G'day, Gina. How's life? Life's great. It's Friday. Yeah. Too bloody right, Gina. Gina, what do you do for a crust, by the way? Great boarding, import, export.
57:31Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah. Okay. Okay. Yellow. I'm hearing you, Gina. Hey, Gina, so the great news is... Mum's the word.
57:38Keyzie:Wings as good as a nod. Yeah, yeah, it's all sweet.
57:42Mike Minogue:Gina, you've won yourself$100 cash instantly, all right? You're also in the draw for the ultimate grand final viewing setup of a Lazy Boy, a mini fridge, a new TV, et cetera. However, you've got$100 bonus cash to put on your finals prediction. What's your prediction? Going for the Sharkies. Upset the Roosters. Okay, Sharks to beat the Roosters tomorrow night. We'll lock that in, Gina. You hold the line, and good luck. Thank you. No worries. Who do you think is going to win that game? To be honest, I think the Roosters. The Sharks choke. Right, okay. They've always had a great team, but they seem to choke a lot.
58:16I'm going to go Sharks because the Roosters are hot and cold.
58:20Mike Minogue:Honestly, totally. This is the thing with finals, man. God knows. Yeah. Absolutely no idea. You just don't know, Jase. You just don't know? No. Get your bet on finals footy with TAB. T's and C's apply. R18 bet responsibly, of course. A lot of people texting in as well, fellas, for where they'd run away to. Yes. If they had to flee New Zealand and get away from the long arm of the law. Someone here saying that they would head straight for Fiji to soak up some of the vitamin D. Yeah, good call. Yeah. Good call. One of those islands would be actually would be really good.
58:50Keyzie:Yes. You Samoa, you Fiji.
58:53Mike Minogue:I feel like that's within reach of New Zealand police, though.
58:56Keyzie:Wow. I don't know how it all works. They'd never think to look there, Keezy. That's the trick. And not if you go bush.
59:01Mike Minogue:Levi would probably hide somewhere around. Oh, no, I probably shouldn't read that. I think I know. Yeah, it's funny. It's good stuff. He's got him. Someone here would run away to prison. They'd never think to look there. That's true. Yeah, great call. So if you just went to prison and hid, they'd be like, where is this guy? Oh, this is a good one. I'd run away and hide in JizzBot's honker because I'd never get found there. That's where they found Osama bin Laden. Yeah. Why didn't you tell anyone, Jase? Oh, a bit of head like a hole.
59:38Keyzie:Why not?
59:39Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
59:44Keyzie:Uge overkill there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show breakfast this Friday morning. What's on the telly With Mike Minogue
59:57Yeah That's right Last night fell as I went and saw a play Oh how good Should I say a school production Oh I can't remember the name of it But I can tell you that the story This is my daughter's school production I just don't wander around seeing school productions
1:00:14Mike Minogue:You've stopped doing that and it's about an astronaut and she's out in space and she sees something interesting on one of the moons of Jupiter. Okay, good. And there's a life form there. Comes back, talks to the President of the United States who I was surprised to see get an appearance and they decide that they're going to go over there, they're going to talk to the aliens and see if we can move the entire human race over there because we're buggered Earth. This is a school play. This is a school play. I think it was and then the astronauts they jump in the rocket ship and off they go they get lost there's a whole lot of misadventures that take place yes and yeah it seems to be I'm pretty sure it was done in real time wow it felt like it but some incredible performances from some young actors they're great costumes really really amazing stuff only went for an hour and a half which was disappointing 330 primary school children the entire school Only 90 minutes.
1:01:15Only 90 minutes was a shame. I was hoping for two and a half, three hours. Look, five buzzies out of five buzzies. Would I watch again? A hundred percent. Yes. The best thing I've ever seen on a stage, and I've seen plenty. Backbone, backbone, hashtag backbone. One time only. You can't see it again even if you wanted to, so tough luck. Yeah, good stuff, mate.
1:01:33Keyzie:Good stuff. You guys are not going to believe this. I was sitting on my couch last night, and I was going, oh, have an early one tonight, but then... Lo and behold, it's old Sheena. Sheena comes on again.
1:01:45Mike Minogue:So that's the movie you've watched three times now from the 80s with lots of nudity in it.
1:01:50Keyzie:Yeah, there just happens to be a bit of nudity in there, Keezy. I don't watch it specifically for that. What's the storyline then? Pardon?
1:01:58Mike Minogue:Last night, my wife and I, we're watching... Well, hell, I am finished. Okay, talk about the same movie you've watched three times. Go on. It's pretty hot. We watched another episode of Outrageous Fortune, watching the second season at the moment. I've never seen it before. Highly recommend if you haven't seen it, just watch it. It's really good. It's on TVNZ.
1:02:16Keyzie:Have you finished your Broken Wood episode yet? No, I just can't bring myself to it.
1:02:20Mike Minogue:I'm serious.
1:02:21Keyzie:Maybe how about this? When we come over tomorrow, we should all watch it. It's interesting because, you know, that's an episode that Jase is in. It's pretty much all about Jase. Big effort from you, you know, one of the great actors. You know, tight friends over the course of five, five and a half years. And you will not watch a 90-minute episode. You just refuse to support your mate. And he watches how many episodes of The Ditch And the other one Just over and over again The Ditch
1:02:47Mike Minogue:I hosted Crowd Goes Wild last night Did you watch it? God you were good You were so good
1:02:51Keyzie:But then I had to flick over to Sheena
1:02:53Mike Minogue:Who was I hosting with? Pardon? Who was hosting with me?
1:02:56Keyzie:Oh god I never remember her name I'm terrible with names You're saying you only had eyes for Keezy That's right
1:03:03Mike Minogue:Yeah it's shot Okay that's why I haven't finished it But my wife and I watched an episode of Country Calendar right? It's about a farmer on the Chatham Islands. Oh, great. That sounds good. So we tried to watch it the other night, and my mum and dad rang after about two minutes. Oh, that'd be right. So you just don't answer the phone. Yarned with them for 30 minutes, and then my wife went to bed. And then last night we watched 10 minutes of it, and then my wife was like, I'm quite tired. And so it's taken us three stabs to watch a 20-minute episode of Country Calendar. Good ep, though. Yeah. Four buzzies out of five, guys.
1:03:35So you're going to do a third review of that?
1:03:37Mike Minogue:Yeah, I'll let you know. Well, he's doing a third review of a shit movie from the 80s. Hey, it's quality, Keezy. Do you like the hives? The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
1:03:50Keyzie:Lenny Kravitz there on the Big Show Breakfast this Friday. Fellas, do you know what I love about doing the breakfast show?
1:03:57Mike Minogue:What's that?
1:03:58Keyzie:You're sitting in here and I'm watching all these people arriving at work just as I'm finishing. I didn't tell you this, but when I walked home from the show yesterday and I was looking at all the people going to work, I was just laughing in their faces.
1:04:11Mike Minogue:Really?
1:04:11Keyzie:I was like pointing at them and going, ha, ha.
1:04:14Mike Minogue:Like Nelson from The Simpsons. Yeah, like Nelson. People wouldn't have known what was going on though, would they? Because they're just going to work and then there's some mad sort of lunatic just pointing at them and laughing. You must have looked insane.
1:04:26Keyzie:Yeah, but I do look a little bit insane and I probably shouldn't be doing that given the threat that I've got on the street at the moment with the farmers, et cetera. But I just can't help myself. I see all these sad asses dragging their feet to work, and I'm like, ha, ha.
1:04:43Mike Minogue:Well, of course, Mogi, you've got a full day of work. I do, that's right. I go out of here and I go straight to my other work. Yes. That'll be an all day. But I'm glad that I've got this part done. Over and done with. Obviously, we walk out of here, we've got about three hours prep before we have to, you know, for the show on Monday. But after that, we're free as a bird. Yeah. Free as a bird. Well, that's what people don't realise.
1:05:04Keyzie:They don't get it. They think that we just come in and do three or four hours of radio. And then straight out the door and straight home. And straight home and just chill out. But that's not what happens.
1:05:13Mike Minogue:No, shit, no. Like I heard one of the other – I can't remember what show it is. Maybe it's like Bree and Clint or something. I heard they show up like an hour before. You're joking. And then sort of their producer half-assed throws some shit ideas on a piece of paper and then they just sort of go in there and get – you know, that's not how you do radio, man.
1:05:30Keyzie:No, totally.
1:05:30Mike Minogue:What is it? Fail to prepare. Prepare to fail. Thank you. Yeah, yeah, totally. That's the show motto. That's right. The amount of nights... That's why we're such a raging success.
1:05:39Keyzie:Well, that's right. Prep, prep, and more prep.
1:05:43Mike Minogue:Prep again. Yeah, yeah. Backbone, backbone, ma wa. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
1:05:55Keyzie:Well, there you go, you mere bastards. That's the Big Show brekkie done and dusted this Friday morning in the Disclaimer podcast, which is bonus content. we do before the show starts, isn't it, fellas?
1:06:07Mike Minogue:Certainly is, Jase. The podcast will come out later on today and a reminder that we're on Brekkie again next week. But the disclaimer today was recorded at 5.40am. Yes. Feels like a week ago.
1:06:19Keyzie:Yeah, it does, doesn't it? Yeah.
1:06:20Mike Minogue:And she was pretty full on for a Friday morning at 5.40am. Here's a clip about Jase having some beef.
1:06:28Keyzie:Too early to start with the s*** chat. You know what I mean? Great.
1:06:33Mike Minogue:It's naiv. The backbone.
1:06:34Keyzie:He defended the phares and now the ****. Hell of a combination. God, I mean, I'm going to be an endangered species on the street soon.
1:06:42Mike Minogue:Yeah. So, Jason, you've got a lot of beef with a lot of people, man. Yeah. But who?
1:06:46Keyzie:I didn't realise that, you know, but the more I talk, the more I'm realising that I have a lot of beef with a lot of people. You're right, Izzy. Yeah, a lot of haters. I might have to start wearing, like, a costume or a moustache or something so people don't recognise me on the streets. You know what I'm saying? It just seemed to stem from when you said that you saw a lot of people up the top of the Sky Tower, a lot of farmers up there, and you said they were crawling along on the floor because they were scared they were going to fall off it. Yeah. Because it's got that glass floor key. I don't know if you've been up there.
1:07:14Yeah, several times. It's pretty scary. It is. And then there, they really, they fired up from there. Yeah, they did, didn't they? Because the idea of a farmer sort of crawling around on all fours at the top of the Sky Tower, he's worried that he's going to fall off. Fall off, yeah, yeah. I mean, it sort of seems like a, you know, a, what would you say, like a caveman or something like that? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, man, certainly.
1:07:34Mike Minogue:It's bloody funny, though.
1:07:35Keyzie:I've got to be honest. What are you up to after this, Moggy? Oh, great question. Well, three hours of prep for Monday with the U2 backbone. Yes. Then I'll be off to work for the rest of the day. And what am I doing this evening? I don't know, actually. Don't have a big one, please. Need your bushy tail. Oh, no, I won't be drinking. And I say that before I drink. So who knows? But no, my absolute priority is turning up on a good night's sleep to old Keezy's come dine with me experience tomorrow. That is my priority.
1:08:07Mike Minogue:It's going to be lovely, fellas. Yeah, what about you, Keezy?
1:08:09Keyzie:You'll be freaking out at home all day. So I've got to go home.
1:08:12Mike Minogue:I've got to stop at Briscoe's and buy a few supplies. Yeah, nice. And then, yeah, go home, make the dessert later on tonight. Yeah. And then I've got to come back to work here and steal a couple of chairs. Yes. And potentially a table. Mm-hmm. And then should be good as gold for tomorrow's come dine with me at 2 p.m. A reminder, if you want to watch Mogey and Jase as they're on the Hodaki Big Show Instagram pinned to the top of the old account there. What are you doing, Jase?
1:08:36Keyzie:Well, like Mogey, three hours of prep after this, as always. Sometimes don't you wish we could just, you know, just go through and chill out, you know what I mean? Without saying a word to anybody in the office, just straight out the door. God, wouldn't that be good?
1:08:47Mike Minogue:Well, we can't, fellas, so.
1:08:49Keyzie:And then, yeah, probably go home, do a bit of work around the place, probably do a bit more prep. Some ideas for Monday's show.
1:08:56Mike Minogue:So it's got to be a good show Monday, then is it?
1:08:58Keyzie:Then watch maybe a bit of Samsung TV. Can I ask you what your plans are for the Waz? Just watching them at home. Yeah, I'll be doing the same. You know what I mean? I'm going to have a mate or two over and that'll be my lot. Yeah, nice. Same here, to be honest. Hey, make sure you check out the podcast wherever you get your podcasts. Also, check out the Instagram. There's going to be a lot going on there as well. But until Monday morning, we'll see you later. Bye.
