In short
The “Hauraki Big Show” outro pivots from explicit “raw dog”/condom banter to a discussion about ADHD traits, including a quick self-assessment quiz.
Guests
No named guests; the episode features regular hosts “Jase,” “Mogi,” and “Keezy.”
Guest backgrounds
Mogi mentions working with two men he suspects have ADHD; he also references Ellie (from their gaming podcast) who has late-diagnosed ADHD and autism and explains neurodivergency.
Key claims
ADHD can look like “fuckwit” behavior (avoiding tasks unless needed), people often can’t define ADHD, and symptoms include fidgeting, distraction, starting but not finishing, and needing stimulation.
Notable examples
Jase’s long-standing restricted/permit paperwork he refuses to do; difficulty sitting through movies/plays; piano practice boredom; “steamed puddings”/snacking obsessions; quiz results (Jase rates very often for not finishing details, organization issues, delaying starts, and fidgeting).

Four to seven every weekday on Radio Horete. Have you ever Raw Doggett, Jase? Can you define Raw Doggett for me? Making love without any prophylactics. Oh, hell yeah. Do you not know how many kids I've got, Mogi? Old raw dog. I don't know about you guys. How do you feel about condoms? Not a fan. I prefer you wear one. With you? Yeah. Well, no, fair. That's fair.
0:40Mike Minogue:Not a fan, but also you have to, you know, take responsibility.
0:45Keyzie:100%. It doesn't matter if you don't want to wear one.
0:47Mike Minogue:If your partner says, no, you have to wear one, then you wear one. Yeah, that's cool of you, man.
0:51Keyzie:I mean, as a pure, like, if I can give or take it. Oh, you love taking it. You'd be taking it all night long. I would certainly not choose to wear a Connie. Because you want more kids. Well, no. Because that's why you make love, to have kids.
1:08Mike Minogue:What was the thing you were saying off air about not having kids? Was it like something, something, no kids?
1:12Keyzie:Because I mean, we all agree.
1:16Mike Minogue:Something, something, no babies.
1:17Keyzie:We all agree, don't we? Don't you start me on the baby talk, Keezy. But what was your saying? There's only one person having babies in this studio. Who's that? But we all prefer raw dog, don't we? You're on your own, man. I like safe sex. Well, I mean, I like safe sex too, but I mean.
1:40Mike Minogue:You like raw dog in it.
1:45Does anybody listen to this? That's got kids.
1:49Keyzie:I mean, oh my goodness. Okay, well, look. Do we just scrub this and start again? No, no, no, no. We've already filled two minutes.
1:57Mike Minogue:Okay, here's the deal. I want to play the intro again. And from that point on, squeaky clean. All right? The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
2:09Keyzie:The Hauraki Big Show podcast. For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast, get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Or Raw Doggy. Four to seven every weekday on Radio Hauraki. But if you don't like using Connie's Keezy, then you would be into raw dogging too, obviously.
2:33Mike Minogue:I knew you wouldn't be able to drop it. Look, Jase, man, I'm just, as long as it's with my wife, whatever she wants, I'm happy.
2:40Keyzie:Absolutely, same here. Whatever my partner wants, I want to clarify that. Oh, yes.
2:45Mike Minogue:Yeah, my wife specifically.
2:48Keyzie:Well, I'm not making love to your wife.
2:50Mike Minogue:No, no, no, don't even say that as a sentence. Say what, Keezy? Don't even say what you said as a sentence. All right? It's weird. Just putting that thought in your head there, Keezy, man. Nah, it's gone. I can't think about it. God. What have you been up to, Mogi? Bit of work, man. What have you been up to? I saw you today. I saw old Keezy today. Did you? Isn't it Mogi's work? Isn't it raw talking? Isn't it work there? Actually, so I had an interesting conversation. I was telling Jason in the office. Ellie, who's on our gaming podcast, she's very interested in neurodivergency, right? ADHD and autism.
3:28Mike Minogue:Because she has both of those. Late diagnosis in life and it answered a lot of questions about her. She fought like, yeah, long story. She loves it. It's her passion. Right. It's like learning more about this thing. Right. And I was like, so I work with two guys who I'm pretty sure are ADHD. And she's like, oh, yeah, yeah, definitely. I wouldn't say pugs had ADHD. No, I don't know about pugs. But I was like, what is the deal with Jase? And I said specifically Jase. Because I was like, Mike's the opposite. that when something needs to be done, you'll go get it sorted straight away. I'm similar, not as quick to get things sorted, but you very much, if something pops up, an issue, you try to solve it immediately.
4:03Mike Minogue:Yeah. And I was like, Jace, for example, has had his restricted for 30 years and it's now super easy to get your full. You just have to fill out one form and you've got it. But Jace is like, no, I'm not doing it. I can tell he will never do it. And I was like, is that an ADHD thing? And apparently it is. Is it? It's a thing where because he's gone so long and had never needed it, but he doesn't see the need to go and do it. And she said the more I try and persuade him and push him to do it, the less likely he is to do it. Is that an ADHD thing? Apparently. I don't know, yeah. It doesn't feel like ADHD.
4:34It feels like a fuckwit sort of a thing. You know, the part where you would go – Easy on, Moby. The part where you would go, well, I'm not doing it because you want me to. That doesn't feel like ADHD. That feels like – No, apparently. That's more of a fun thing, isn't it? Yeah. Just because it rocks Keesy up. No, because I get too much joy out of Kesey being miserable.
4:54Mike Minogue:But the funny thing is also, I was like to him, I was like, now I don't know what's up with me because for some reason I care about this. Yes, exactly.
5:00Keyzie:Maybe you've got ADHD because you care about stuff you don't need to care about.
5:04Mike Minogue:That's not what ADHD is. To be honest, I don't even barely know what it is.
5:07Keyzie:Yeah. It's one of those terms. We should do the test online now. Have we done that before on the show? I don't know. I'm pretty certain that I do have ADHD.
5:17Mike Minogue:Yeah, I think both of you do.
5:20Keyzie:But I thought it was more sort of...
5:21Mike Minogue:Mainly based on all the weird noises you make when you're in the car together. Yeah, that kind of thing. It's being bored easy and moving on. I think it's possible as well, because I went to that. I think I talked to you guys about it the other week. But when I went to see the drummer from Def Leppard who's only got one arm, doing his from the police, you know? Yes. And he was doing his talk. And his name's not Stuart Townsend, it's Stuart Copeland. Wait, wait, wait. So you didn't see the Def Leppard guy, you saw the police guy? No, no, no. You know that song, you know, the drummer from Def Leppard who's only got one arm.
5:48It's good stuff. But I notice while I sit there, and I notice this when I'm at movies as well, I cannot sit still. But everybody else can just sit there for two hours and not move at all. I'm all over the show.
6:02Keyzie:Well, it's interesting you say that because I didn't go to movies. I've got worms, though. Yeah, well, that doesn't help when you've got an itchy anus. But I used to be like that. I prefer to call it a Janus. I couldn't go to movies. I couldn't go to plays. Certainly not plays. Right. Because I was just way too fidgety. And I find it very difficult to sit down for any length of time. But I am much better at that now.
6:30Mike Minogue:Do you think you're easily distracted?
6:34Keyzie:Yes. By your own thoughts. Yes. I've got a lot going on in my head a lot of the time.
6:39Mike Minogue:And also just stuff. Like people outside, you know, people on the internet. Like just stuff around you distracts you all the time. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes. The other thing too is like you saying you're going to learn that piano album. Yeah. And then immediately getting bored of it. That's so ADHD. It's ridiculous.
6:56Keyzie:Yeah. But then again, but on the other flip side of that, I can be quite obsessional about things. Yes. But that's also it as well. Yeah, I suppose so.
7:04Mike Minogue:It's like concentrated obsessions and then you get over them. Yes. That's it. So like, for example, Nippy's iced coffee. Oh, yeah, exactly. Or steamed puddings. One of the other chips he likes. Cheese balls, thank you.
7:16Keyzie:Yeah, I don't do cheese balls anymore. Just not, well, because it was. I'm sure we've done this before. I was just eating too many. It was like those little desserts. Steamed puddings. Steamed puddings. I was shockingly bad. Well, I don't think we've looked up this particular thing. We might as well run it now. We've got nothing else on. Well, not too long because I want to go and get cheap sushi. Oh, do you? Okay, well, look at it. We've got a couple of minutes. So this is never really sometimes, often, very often. Okay, so you've got to try and remember these. Kesey, can you make a note of these, man?
7:49Can you write down the answers so we can, at the end, we'll have a score. I'm not going to do me. I'll just do Jase. Here we go, Jase. There's only five questions. That's reasonable. How often do you have trouble finishing the finer details of a project once the challenging parts are done?
8:05Keyzie:Can you give me the options again? Never, rarely, sometimes, often, very often. Very often. I don't finish it.
8:16Mike Minogue:So you do the hard part and then leave the finishing touch? Yes. This is ringing bells for me. Straight away. Because I've got this idea, I'll do 80 % of it, and now I need somebody else to finish it off. Yes, very often for me. How often do you have difficulty getting things in order when you have to do a task that requires organisation? So on a scale of one to five, let's call it a scale of one to five.
Read the full transcript
8:41Keyzie:Four. How often do you have problems remembering appointments or obligations? Not so much. Scale of one to five. One being not often. Yeah. Two. Two. Good on you, mate. When you have a task that requires a lot of thought, how often do you avoid or delay getting started? Quite often. A four.
9:10How often do you fidget or squirm?
9:13Mike Minogue:I'm going to put five for that one. It's asking me, oh yeah. How often do you fidget or squirm? Give me the fucking questions again. Sorry, old chat GPT has paused. It's not looking good for you, Jase. Can I just say that? Well, it's not a bad thing. Oh, no, sure. Once you understand it, you can use it, Jase. You can do nothing about it. Oh, you can do fucking. How often do you fidget or squirm with your hands or feet? Why is it not finishing the question? I mean, it's already a yes. Yes.
9:46Keyzie:Well, much less actually on that front. I used to be shockingly bad at that.
9:52Mike Minogue:Right.
9:52Keyzie:But not so much now.
9:53Mike Minogue:I'd say every day when you sit down, you tap your pen. Okay. Well, let's go. Yeah, and you do all your scribbling and shit. But anyway, would you call that a four? Well. Yes. Okay. Yeah. Well, what's happening is it's getting to question five and then it's hitting me with an alert saying ChatGPT isn't designed to provide this type of content.
10:18Rightio. I'm going to do that because, yeah, it looks like I've got it. 100%. I thought we all knew that you guys probably had it. Well, but the thing about it is, you know what it is with autism less so? My can sound ruder, by the way. because that's an actual, that's like a visible thing on somebody. You go, oh, that person's probably got it. But ADHD is sort of thrown around like narcissism. Everybody chucks around, I've got ADHD, I've got narcissism. But if you ask people to define it, most people couldn't define it for you. It's something that they've heard other people say and then they apply it in a similar situation.
10:55I couldn't tell you what ADHD is. I couldn't give you a definition. I couldn't give you a definition of what narcissism is. But I know that everybody says that everybody else is a narcissist.
11:03Keyzie:Yes. It's flavour of this sort of, it's. It's the, what's the, it's the spirulina. Topic du jour. It's the spirulina of mental issues. Yes, it is. The topic du jour.
11:16Mike Minogue:I mean, I still think you guys have it. I'm sure I do. Don't worry about it. I'm sure I do. I've got lots of stuff. I think it's because I've been like so thoroughly explained a lot of things by Ellie on my gaming podcast. That's why I'm leaning on that, because she keeps trying to diagnose me for ages, not that she can. But she was trying to like, but she's just, I give up. You've got nothing. I don't know. You're weird.
11:37Keyzie:I was like, yeah. You've got nothing, man. You've got nothing. I'm just going to read out. Can I go and get some sushi now? Just wait. We're talking about something else, Jase. I'm just giving you the symptoms. Adult focus. Inattention. Difficulty sustaining focus. Starting things easily but struggling to finish. Losing track during conversations. Forgetting appointments. Poor organisation. Misplacing everyday items. Haha, like Key's phone. avoiding tasks that require sustained mental effort nah, zoning out even when you care about the topic feeling restless constant mental activity fidgeting, tapping specifically tapping pacing difficulty sitting through meetings or films what about brainstorms?
12:19Mike Minogue:anything about brainstorms? needing background noise or stimulation to focus overworking or over scheduling oh fuck me we'll leave it there we'll just leave it there
12:32It's something we can do.
