In short

The hosts banter about spicy food and Auckland dumplings at Eden Noodles, then pivot to fitness/aging (shrinking without muscle), body/ass jokes, and a surprisingly open discussion about whether one host would ever have sex with men.

Guest backgrounds

No guests are featured; it’s a solo “Big Show” style episode with hosts including Mo, Jase, and Kezia (and “Pugs” as a caller/producer voice).

Key claims

Eden Noodles is “unbelievably” cheap yet high quality; spicy tolerance changes over time; maintaining muscle prevents age-related shrinking; one host says he’d consider sex with men but it’s “not my cup of tea.”

Notable examples

Eden Noodles pricing comparisons (wonton soup $12.90 vs ~$23 elsewhere; chicken strips ~$19.70); a past “nude spa” situation in Christchurch involving a well-known NZ celebrity.

0:00For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast, get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok or Raw Dog It. 4 to 7 every weekday on Radio Horete. Oh, g'day, fellas! Hello!

0:18Mike Minogue:G'day, guys. How are we today? You're sounding a little bit naisy, you alright?

0:22Keyzie:Do I sound different? I think what it is, Mo, he's just pounded a spicy chicken burger. And so he's maybe got a bit of mucus action going on. Yeah, spicy. Just on that front, by the way, I stopped myself last night from getting the extra spicy. Yeah, good. Coward. Jase went to Eden. Eden Noodles. Eden Noodles, which is, well, we all love it, some more than others. but that's the one that we've been sort of referring to without mentioning the name of it for quite a long time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's fucking good.

0:59Mike Minogue:And if you live in Auckland and you want the best dumplings of your life, go to Eater Noodles and get the dumplings and spicy sauce. Do you know what I tell you the thing is about it? I'm not huge on the dumplings. I love a dumpling. I like making them at home because they're so easy. I like eating them out. The big thing about Eater Noodles is it's so delicious but it's so cheap. Fuck, it's cheap. Unbelievable. It's so cheap. Unbelievable. Like anywhere else, like I had the wonton soup the other day, which is six wontons in a hot and spicy sauce. Yes. And then I also had, and now that was$12.90.

1:29That would be$23 anywhere else. 100%. And high quality. High quality. And then I had the chicken strips, the deep fried chicken strips, which is a full container of that shit. And it came to$19.70 or something. Yeah. And I was rammed.

1:43Keyzie:It's fucking incredible. It really is. It's so good. But I couldn't go full spice anyway because my wife wanted some. And she doesn't like it too spicy. Right, so you had to. Except in the bedroom. Oh, come on, Nogi, man. How spicy does she like it in the bedroom? Actually, in terms of spice, when I first met my wife, no go, man. Right. Lights off missionary. But I was full spice boy at that point. I love chilli. You're a shocking little bastard. I love chilli. Are you talking about the bedroom or eating? No, I'm talking about eating. Eating what? Eating hot food, Casey, you filthy bastard. And she wasn't into spice at all, but over the years, she's developed to the point sometimes where she handles it better than me.

2:34Wow. A woman handles it better? That's unbelievable. It's incredible. That must have brought great shame on your whanau.

2:42Keyzie:Going from I can't handle spice to outdoing Hoity J in spice, I'm not happy about it, fellas.

2:48Mike Minogue:To be fair, you've tapered off, though.

2:50Keyzie:Massively, I have. Have you gotten a little bit taller in these last months? No, I've got smaller. You've got some new boots. They're pretty tall. We were having a conversation the other day, and I was saying I'm the same height as my wife. And Kesey was like, no, you're fucking not. We've always been the same height. And so I went home that night and measured myself against my wife I'm fucking way smaller than her Really? And it was like I've never been way smaller than you And she said Yeah you're shrinking pretty quick Quote That was the quote You're going to have to get on the weights man I'm telling you And I was like Fuck I really am aren't I?

3:27Keyzie:So do weights help you get taller? Well it helps you retain your muscles So if you haven't got any muscle Then you start collapsing under the weight of your own skeleton So your muscles If you maintain your muscle Because you lose 1-2 % every single year As soon as you hit your 40s Right So that's when you see old men and old women there stooped over because they've got no muscles. Their bones are catering on themselves. So you need to maintain muscle and muscle mass to carry your fucking skeleton around. It's scary, dude. Yeah, totally. You start shrinking. You're going to be tiny. I'm going to put you in my fucking pocket.

4:01Keyzie:I'm fit at the moment, but I'm not doing any muscle work.

4:05Mike Minogue:Muscle work, that's what they call it.

4:07Keyzie:I mean, I should show you guys my ass, man. It's never been more toned

4:10Mike Minogue:I bet you've got the smallest little arse

4:14Keyzie:No, I don't Well, I mean compared to your caboose I've got a decent peach man You've got a fucking dump truck I've got a lovely dump truck Most men don't have arses And I don't think it's a big deal But I went and did a show And you've done the show before A game show Hasn't come out yet Keezy Look forward to that one brother And as I was going on One of my competitors said Oh you've got no arse at all as I was walking out. A woman.

4:41Mike Minogue:And did you look at her and say, look at that fucking peach you've got? Look at the fucking state of year, you fucking shit. Did you say that? Yeah, nice.

4:49Keyzie:As I've said before, my ass was my best feature. I had a peachy, cute little bum, but I was getting that thing of old man bum where my body was absorbing my ass. You were sucking it up. Do I have a bum? It doesn't disappear completely. I think you're wasting it in those big baggy pants. I think I've got a good ass when it's naked, but you could never towel on these pants.

5:13Mike Minogue:Look at Jase's. There's nothing there. Well, he's wearing TJ's. That is a tight ass. He's got the tight jeans. If you look at that, that's straight down, Keezer.

5:19Keyzie:Yeah, your ass is a shocker, Moggy. Thanks, mate. It's a shocker. There's nothing there, is there? No, there isn't. There's nothing to hang on to. If you haven't looked at it naked. Yeah. Oh, I don't think I'd...

5:29Mike Minogue:I don't know if you should... I don't... See that?

5:33Keyzie:Oh, God.

5:34Mike Minogue:Oh, my God. You see? There's something there.

5:38Keyzie:Yeah. How do we get on to this? How do we get on to it? You were talking about how you want to start having sex with men. Did I? Do you not remember, man? Can we go back through the audio, please, pugs? Pugs, we can't remember that.

5:53Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show podcast. Puggy, wait, what's your name? Jase. Yes. We can't go back through the audio every time you forget something you've said. Every time you forget what you've said.

6:06Keyzie:So I was saying that I want to have sex with men. Yes. In what context? Why else would Mogi have his arse out presenting to you? But what context, though, was I saying? Well, you're just saying, but what kind of a dude should I go for? Someone with a humongous arse like old Keezy or someone with a beautiful unheary one like old Mogi. Right argument.

6:24Mike Minogue:Sorry, I don't have a hairy arse, okay? I mean, I might in the crevices there, but I've got no idea. What would you do about that? Would you clear that out? Probably not.

6:35Keyzie:Just get a match, man.

6:37Mike Minogue:Just throw a match in there. And walk away. It'd be like a forest fire. It'd be like a slow motion explosion in an action movie. I'd probably just do the old light a candle, put it on the ground thing. Oh, and squat over it. And then just sort of squat over it there.

6:52Keyzie:So I was saying what kind of dude would I go for?

6:56Mike Minogue:Because you remember you were saying, oh, my wife doesn't like it spicy in the bedroom. I'm trying to go extra spicy, but she doesn't want to. So I've been thinking about banging dudes. Oh, jeez. I was like, is this appropriate for the podcast? And you said, podcast? What podcast? And then you looked at Mogi and said, Mogi, you got fucking great ass, man. Is that what I said, was it? The problem was trying to find a clip, a highlight, at the end of the show to play it. Is there too many options, folks?

7:28Keyzie:Jeez. You know, we talk about it all the time, though, don't we, where we do the podcast, and we can't remember a single thing we talked about in the podcast. I'll remember this one. That's a classic example of it. I mean, I don't recall saying any of that. Would you or have you ever found yourself in a situation where you could? Could what? Make love to a man?

7:48Mike Minogue:I bet you would have. I've never made love to a man, no. No, no, no. I bet you've been in a position where you probably could have. Oh, yes. I have as well. Yes. But, you know.

7:56Keyzie:I have as well. Fill your boots if that's what you want. Go for it. It's just not my cup of tea. No. I was in a situation What do you mean Where it was like What's that face

8:08Mike Minogue:Literally just whatever I don't know I've never been in that situation Have you not Knowingly I don't know I don't think so Oh you'd know

8:15Keyzie:What about that time You'd know

8:17Mike Minogue:Because I'm pretty I give off very heterosexual vibes

8:21Keyzie:What about that time

8:22Mike Minogue:It's actually asexual Yeah

8:24Keyzie:You're non-sexual to me

8:26Mike Minogue:So I don't give off any vibes No

8:28Keyzie:But remember that time Fuck I gotta work on that Down in the spa With the dude in Christchurch and you were both nude and you'd had a few beersies. This story is the same age as the show.

8:41Mike Minogue:This story is from the first month of our show, I swear. And I didn't have a spa with him. Yes, you did. A nude spa.

8:48Keyzie:Remember, Mogi? Of course I do. Yeah. And you've been hitting the beers. Do you not remember saying that?

8:55Mike Minogue:No, I don't, man. Far out. Did I say it on this podcast too? Yeah, you were banging on about it. Yeah. It was shocking. But anyway. So you're in a situation and you didn't do it, man. I was in a situation, yeah. But it was one of those things where you go, I could see how this would happen. It was a very well-known New Zealand celebrity. Right, okay. Well-known out? No. No, okay. No. And it was like, oh, yeah, I could see how this would happen. Sure. I mean, I'm not going to do it. Yeah, yeah. But I could see how it would happen. Hot dude? Hot dude, but, you know. Hot dude, but. Well, certainly not hot like Jace.

9:32Yeah, well. You know, not super masculine sort of thing. Yeah, well, I mean, you know. Jace is super butch. I'm one in a million, man. That doesn't do it for me when it comes to men. Like, I like my men to be like woman.

9:44Mike Minogue:Yeah. I was actually talking, because when I think butch men, I think Jace, Buck Shelford. Yes. Sir Edmund Hillary.

9:51Keyzie:Well, the funny thing is I have a lot of feminine qualities. Funny you should bring him up. I know I come across as massively manly, but I actually have a lot of feminine qualities. Well, you've got buzzies. You sort of get into deeper, you're like really moody and, you know. Oh, here he goes. Oh, jeez. Well, actually. Fungs is worried about me. You're going to have to get used to me being moody. Oh, when I give up the durries. I mean, give up the vape. But that's different, Jase. But the problem with your moody, and this must be a problem for you. No, it'll be different for your wife. The problem with the moody that you've got is it's funny.

10:29Yeah. Yeah, it is. It's very funny. Yeah, that's the problem. Yeah. That you've got. I never get moody. Yeah, neither.

10:39Mike Minogue:To be honest, though, Jase, I reckon you should go for it. Go for what? Being in a dude. That's what this whole podcast was about. Do you not remember? Come on, man. That was nice, though. Oh, yeah. That was a nice chat, open chat. No one's got a problem with it.

10:55Keyzie:As I say, if that's where you lean and go for it. Fill your boots, man.

11:00Mike Minogue:Hey, listen to the big show. Absolutely. Four to seven weekdays, Radio Hodaki. I almost regret it. Almost regret not going through it. Because you never know, Kezia, you might love it. Maybe. You might be really good at it. How do you know? It's like an instrument or a sport if you don't get involved in it. I never thought I'd like ballet or... You could be right now the greatest Formula One driver in the world. Yes, that's right. But you've never been in that situation. That's right, because I think I wouldn't like it. You're right. I don't like Bathurst, but I could be the best at it. See, you've got to do it, Jase.

11:32Mike Minogue:You've got to give it a go, man. You could be the best in the world at it. Hey, number one. Big show, Portal 7. Oh, no.
