In short
The “OUTRO: Dole Days” segment wraps up the Big Show, with banter about upcoming return of the main hosts, payday food, past life on unemployment (“the dole”), and cooking/breakfast habits.
Guests
No named guests; it’s just the two hosts (Pug-san and “Jase”) doing the outro.
Key claims
They expect the returning “fellows” to be exhausted/hungover after Europe, and joke about “Spum Boy and the Jizz” stings. Pug-san recalls best days on the dole: heavy drinking/pies, constant masturbation, and copious dope smoking as a “fart-assing” student.
Notable examples
Shakshuka (North Africa/Middle East eggs in spiced tomato/capsicum/onion) and English breakfast with pesto and spicy tomato sauce; hot Pilates trial at a free community class; audible “rip ass” in the studio; baked beans with bacon/chilli.

For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast, get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. Or Raw Doggett, 4 to 7 every weekday on Radio Hode RQ. Yeah man. Yeah. Woohoo! Hey, the next time we do the outro, it'll be the full Big Show. Yeah, man. How hot? Oh, I'll be all right.
0:34Keyzie:Depends what mood the fellows are in. You know what I mean?
0:37Jason Hoyte:That'll be a tough return, I imagine.
0:39Keyzie:You know, there is a very real possibility, Pug-san. Yeah. That they've been on the hammer a lot and that we'll have a classic.
0:49Jason Hoyte:It's not a possibility. It's a high probability.
0:52Keyzie:So we'll have the fellows back, but they'll all be exhausted and hung over.
0:57Jason Hoyte:And they won't be arsed.
0:58Keyzie:And they go, oh, fucking back at work. They won't be in Europe anymore and it'll be shit weather here. And if that's the case, they can get out and Spum Boy and the Jizz will do it. Get back in. Totally, man.
1:09Jason Hoyte:We're in thirst, man. I got a little bit of phlegm from some spicy chicken tenders I had. Did you? When did you get those from? They do a happy hour, that one down there.
1:18Keyzie:Do you ever pay full price for anything, Pugs?
1:20Jason Hoyte:I'd rather not. Right. Where possible. Oh, it's payday today. Yeah, that's why I was down there, man. Still got the happy hour, though. It was yummy. But it was a little spicy.
1:30Keyzie:Is it like de-doosh in the Pugsan household? Not de-doosh. See that lady there? Get eyes to the front. You were a shocker. I understand why, but still.
1:41Jason Hoyte:I was partying with her at Symphony, eh? Which one? She's great. The one in the middle. Lovely lady. Very, very cheerful lady. Very kind. Okay. Generous even.
1:52Keyzie:Getting back to my point about your payday.
1:55Jason Hoyte:Yeah.
1:55Keyzie:It was like, you know, And Mogi and I have talked about when we were on the dole and, you know, the dole came through. It was like, da-doosh.
2:05Jason Hoyte:Yeah. Heaps of piss drinking and pies. I can't. Listen, I'm in a very fortunate position where I have not had to do that or been in a position where I needed to do that. Be on the dole, you mean? Yeah. Best days of my life, man. Yeah? Yeah, totes. How good. I was a student. Well, I wasn't a student. Just fart-assing around?
2:28Keyzie:I was literally just fart-assing around. And then, you know, finding myself, Pugs-san. And by that I mean masturbating continuously.
2:38Jason Hoyte:And smoking copious amounts of dope. Yeah.
2:42Keyzie:I have to admit there's some truth in that comment. Some. Some truth in it, yes.
2:48Jason Hoyte:I know you were a massive dope spoker. I don't know why you worried about your image back in the day.
2:53Keyzie:Well, you know, it's not legal, Pugs. You could get me in trouble here, man.
2:57Jason Hoyte:You're going to get done for something you did a thousand years ago. Quite possibly.
3:02Keyzie:You a big gunger smoker?
3:04Jason Hoyte:See, now you're trying to ask me about something current.
3:07Keyzie:Oh, okay. So you smoke a lot currently? That's not what I said. Oh, right.
3:12Jason Hoyte:And also no, is the short answer. Really? Yeah, seriously. Well, you know, with... Not nearly as much as some of my friends used to. Like I've got a mate, for example, used to have it pretty much every day.
3:29Keyzie:I've got mates that still do.
3:31Jason Hoyte:Yeah. Well, same. But this mate in particular. I would have thought with your tofu and granola action that. What the fuck does that have to do with smoking dope? Well, just herbal stuff and healthy stuff.
3:47Keyzie:You know what I mean?
3:48Jason Hoyte:Eyes to the fucking front. That was terrible from you.
3:53Keyzie:You know that you'd have your bowl of granola and then a bowl.
3:57Jason Hoyte:And then smoke them. No, two bowls. One's granola and one's dope.
4:01Keyzie:Yeah, and then you'd have the munchies and you'd be hoeing into some tofu for lunch. And some baked beans and then ripping ass for the rest of the day. I was shocked by that.
4:10Jason Hoyte:That I was ripping ass or that I ate the baked beans?
4:12Keyzie:Well, not that you ate the baked beans. I bought – my wife and I did a shop today because it's been ages. We were like, shit.
4:20Jason Hoyte:I ripped ass in the studio yesterday and you didn't hear me and you were right there. I just need to make that clear.
4:26Keyzie:Was it a loud rip ass or was it one of those silent and potent? It was audible.
4:31Jason Hoyte:It was audible. Oh, okay. Yeah. I just, sorry about that. Anyway, you and your wife.
4:37Keyzie:And we were doing a shop and we thought, oh, because she was free this morning and so forth. So I was like, let's do it now so we have a free weekend, because usually we do it on a Sunday. We haven't done it for like three weeks. and I treated myself to a can of baked beans and sausages.

4:52Jason Hoyte:Oh, you get the one with sausages in it?
4:54Keyzie:Not usually, but I used to love that with the little saucies in there.
4:58Jason Hoyte:No, man.
4:59Keyzie:What I do now with the baked beans is I fry off some bacon and a few chilli flakes and then I chuck the baked beans in there.
5:11Jason Hoyte:Yeah, that sounds all right. The Hauraki Big Show Weekdays from 4 On Radio Hauraki The Hauraki Big Show Podcast I've been having a lot of shakshuka lately Fuck it rips You would love it You have a lot of that? Shakshuka? Shakshuka, yeah What's that? And I won't get the exact ingredients For the original recipe But it's like Red onion Capsicum Tomatoes Like canned tomatoes Diced tomatoes
5:42Keyzie:Nothing's appealing yet I've got to be honest Are you shitting me man? Onion, capsicum and tomatoes
5:48Jason Hoyte:You season it with some cumin Some chilli flakes And some salt and pepper Etc, etc, etc Yeah see Dilly loves it And then you bang So you cook that down And you reduce it And you reduce it And you add some water And you reduce it And then you cook that down And then you make little wells in it And then you crack like four eggs In the little wells And you steam cook the eggs And then it's like this beautiful fucking
6:08Keyzie:Is it Mexican?
6:10Jason Hoyte:It's racist
6:11Keyzie:Well, no, is it though? Let me look it up.
6:14Jason Hoyte:And also, that's not the exact recipe. It sounds Asian. Or is it Turkish? Yeah, it's Turkish. It's a popular dish throughout North Africa and the Middle East. Yes, okay. That makes sense. Middle Eastern baked eggs, often called. Very nice. Oh, a bit of coriander on there, Jase. Even some crumbled feta on the top. Far out. That's how you do a Saturday morning breakfast, brother. That's how you start the day right.
6:39Keyzie:It's interesting. You know, I always have a, if I do actually do breakfast, it's always the full. English breakfast. Kind of, yeah. It's meat and eggs and hashies and mushrooms. Saucy baked beans. And grilled tomatoes and just the works. Big dollop of, not basil, what's it called? Pesto. Oh, nice. And I've got this great sort of L brown sort of spicy tomato sauce at the moment. Yeah, nice. Big squirt of that all over those bastards. It's beautiful. You're a bit liberal with the tea sauce.
7:17Jason Hoyte:You let out when you add your pie.
7:19Keyzie:You know, whereas you're sort of you get up and do your yoga and then have your bowl of granola.
7:25Jason Hoyte:Save some room for the tofu for later.
7:27Keyzie:That's exactly what my wife does, by the way. She does Pilates and then she has her granola. Guess what I'm trying tomorrow. Yogurt and granola?
7:35Jason Hoyte:No. What? Pilates. I've never tried it. Hot Pilates. There's a free class. And as I say, I'll try anything once. I've never done it before. Fuck it. That's going in the show. No, it's not. Yes, it is. We've got a show planned, man. Can you stick to the plan, I suppose? Pug San's doing hot Pilates. Hot tips for Pugs for doing his first ever free community hot Pilates.
7:57Keyzie:Hot Pilates with old Pug San. Yeah.
7:59Jason Hoyte:Hot Pilates Pugs, that's what they call me.
8:01Keyzie:You know what, man? I mean, you're very wholesome, Pugs. You're very wholesome. Some would say a massive dweeb, but I would say wholesome.
8:12Jason Hoyte:Some would say you're a scumbag, man. Oh, look.
8:15Keyzie:I'll own that, man. I'm an absolute scumbag.
8:18Jason Hoyte:What? What's wrong with being wholesome, man? You're trying to experience living a balanced lifestyle.
8:24Keyzie:I don't know why you would consider that a criticism.
8:27Jason Hoyte:Oh, just the way you said it and everything about you and the nature of the show. and the nature of you and the way you're smiling right now. Me saying that you're wholesome is hardly –
8:36Keyzie:Me saying that you are a wholesome dweeb is – Oh, no, sorry.
8:40Jason Hoyte:It was how you followed it up with dweeb. Yeah, yeah, no. You're good. Yeah, yeah.
8:43Keyzie:But you are. You're a very nice, wholesome, jolly fellow. Jolly.
8:51Jason Hoyte:You love calling me jolly, man. I don't know, man. It's just when I see you, that's what I think. Oh, there's old jolly pugs. I'm not wearing my new hat in the studio. Yeah, what is it?
9:02Keyzie:We can save that for the show too.
9:04Jason Hoyte:Oh, we actually do have to have a show meeting as well, but we'll get to that.
9:07Keyzie:Do we?
9:08Jason Hoyte:Yep.
9:08Keyzie:But not with the bosses or anything.
9:10Jason Hoyte:No, no, no. On air. Like a show meeting, yeah.
9:13Keyzie:All right, fine. Is that okay? Yeah, sure, man. I don't care. It's Friday.
9:18Jason Hoyte:Oh, wait, where's this? There you go.
9:21Keyzie:Should I open the cheese balls yet, or should we wait for the cheese balls? Do you like cheese balls? Or is there too many preservatives for you? Or is there some sort of meat extract in it that... I'll give you a meat extract if you're not careful. With your old dog roll there.
9:39Jason Hoyte:Pugs. Tell you what, it's been a pleasure doing the outro. Huge penis. Oh my God, I'm just... It has been, Pugs.
9:44Keyzie:You're a backbone.
9:45Jason Hoyte:It has been an absolute pleasure doing the outro with you. I'm looking forward to the last Spum Boy in the Jizz. We're going to fire off as many of those stings as we can. Yes. And thanks to everybody who kept listening throughout as well. Hopefully there's a few of you. Yeah, hard. Hopefully there's a few still hanging on.
9:58Keyzie:What we do find is that the numbers do drop off when one of us is away.
10:02Jason Hoyte:Because people follow for the show, and this is only part of that. So I could completely understand. But we look forward to having you all back when the fellas get back on Monday. Tell your friends. It'll be a big show. Great to have the fellas back, undoubtedly hungover. Good shit, man. Thanks, mate.
