In short
The “Big Show” outro where hosts banter about feeling “squishy” (sore stomach/nausea), squeamishness around blood/injections, and getting back into fitness (bush walks, golf, running). They also joke about style (tassel loafers, white socks) and social media plugs (“Tony” video).
Guests
Pugs (returning guest; described as a “stallion”/Pedro Pascal lookalike; known for a teddy-bear face and big head; previously a huge unit). Other recurring hosts mentioned: Jase and Mogi/Keyzie (not guests).
Key claims
“Squishy” is reframed as “squeamish” (nauseous/crampy). Fainting at blood/injection descriptions is treated as a mind/power-of-mind reaction. Running on treadmill “doesn’t count” vs footpath.
Notable examples
Wife fainting at blood/injection descriptions; sister socking objects during injections; all-boys school supportive fainting; treadmill running miscounting distance; first run in years; “spit in his face” as a trigger for a brother/cop.

0:15Keyzie:Yeah man. Yeah. Wonder how old Keyzie's doing. We've got Pugs on with us. Hello. Nice to have you back Pugs, how you going? Yeah I'm good man, nice to have you back. You know it's controversial and I'm going to say it. I'm going to say it, Mogi. Oh, are you going to say spring has sprung again? No. Because today would have been the day to say it because it's actually warm, you know, it's beautiful. I was going to be a bit chilly today. Oh, you would do. Because you're a contrarian. What do you call it? A cunt. A contrarian. No, but what I was going to say is that I think now you've been surpassed as the stallion of the show.
0:57Keyzie:Oh, yeah, sure. A pug son now. He's a stallion, man. What do they call him now? The Pedro Pascal? No, sorry.
1:07Jason Hoyte:Pedro Pascal. Pedro Pascal, yeah, that's it. No, Temu Pedro Pascal. Or the warehouse Pedro Pascal, I've been called. I think Pedro Pascal sort of sunk out.
1:16Keyzie:Well, you've always had that sort of teddy bear face. Ah. But, you know, I think it's a really cool haircut. God, you've got a massive head. See that, man? Huh? Something nice followed up by an absolute apocard. It's a grounding exercise.
1:32Jason Hoyte:Bring you up.
1:34Keyzie:It's foreplay for Pugs and I. Oh, you like that? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, a bit of compliment and then a bit of filth. Yeah. A bit of narcissism. That's how we're going for hours. I've been a bit squishy today. Oh, fuck me. What does that mean? Well, it means my stomach has been flying up on me. That's not a word that you use for your stomach. I mean, I'm sure you are. Squishy. Yeah, I've got a sore stomach. or I'm shitting like, you know, is that what's going on? Are you talking about your feces that's squishy? No, my feces are. It's always squishy, surely. It's kind of, can I say squeamish then?
2:07Keyzie:Yes. Squeamish. That is a word. Yeah. I'm not sure that's right either. Feeling a bit squeamish, that's more of an unsure sort of a thing. No, squeamish is feeling slightly nauseous and crampy. Squeamish. Like, I feel like I've got my period. Fellas, if you did, yeah, I see what you're saying Anything's better than squishy, man Based on how it's been described to you I mean, squishy's alright, isn't it? Yeah, I think it's creative, Jase Thank you I've always loved that about you, man Easily made to feel faint, sick or uncomfortable I've always been more on the faint or uncomfortable side Right, okay Squeamish, you know?
2:44Yeah, yeah, yeah
2:45Keyzie:Yes, no, I know what you're saying Yes, it does make sense in that context too My wife is squeamish Yes, about Specifically it says here when confronted with blood, injury or unpleasant details. My wife can faint. Really? At the sight of blood? At the sight of blood, yes. And not only that, at the description of. Really? She passes out. Wow. How often does that happen? Not as much as it used to. It used to happen all the time. I used to get her good. Yeah. Can I prick your finger, eh? And then squirt it everywhere. That's right. She'd be latched out. And then I'd get to watch some sport. I'd be chucking on the waz, brother.
3:19Keyzie:You just do a big breathe out, don't you? I've known actually a couple of people that would do that with the old injections. To do that. My sister. They would literally faint and just go, ah. It's amazing. It's an amazing power of the mind. And you can imagine when that's happening at an all-boys boarding school when you're all lined up to get shocked or whatever and someone faints. Everybody's really supportive of it. Yeah, exactly. They weren't punching you in the arm. Massively supportive and just goes, oh, yeah, good on you, hoity J. The Hauraki Big Show Weekdays from 4 On Radio Hauraki
3:54Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show Podcast My sister Deathly afraid of injections And if she's not Fainting She's like Lashing out Right Because she's trying to stay still So she needs to like Lash out And so My mum would take her To get her injections As a kid And her reaction would be To just like Sock whatever was next to her Whether that was mum Or an object Or something like that Because she just hated them so much She couldn't even Funny, eh? Yeah. Never had a problem. With your wife, obviously she works in - My wife or Mogi's wife? Sorry, Mogi, I'm pointing. Yeah. In an audio medium. Has worked on some pretty gnarly movies and stuff.
4:30Jason Hoyte:Does the fake site have any effect? Nah. Or it's only real? Nah, but watching movies does. Ah, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, we've had some good experiences, which I couldn't possibly embarrass her with on the record. Yeah. But some pretty amazing - I would love to hear about that. Fantastic, just great stuff.
4:48Keyzie:You've just actually reminded me, and this is terrible, my brother's the same. I've just remembered. The cop? Yeah, the cop. He gets all squiffy and fakes with slug. That's why he prefers to choke people out, eh, rather than bash them. Yeah, well, he doesn't want blood everywhere. Yeah, exactly, yeah. Just sleeper holds. Yes, just knock him out. Yeah, good shit. I tell you what, with my bro, Squiffy, if you really want a good reception from him, spit in his face. Yeah, I've heard about that. He loves that. I think everybody loves that. Or anybody, yeah. You see red pretty quick when that happens, man.
5:24Keyzie:Yeah, he saw red on that particular occasion. Yeah. Thanks for buying us some pork balls, Mogi. Yeah, that pork is their time this week. No biggie, man. How do we finish yours, Pugs? Of course I have. Mowed it, man. Jesus. Mowed it. Absolutely mowed it. I've got to sort out my diet so that I've got food to bring in, you know. I've got Fiji coming up, fellas. True. You've got to sort it out. Beach Bob Mogi. Sort what out? Well, not being a piece of shit, Jase. I mean, I imagine you swim with your shirt on. You all swim with a T-shirt on. Yeah, do you go rash your old sleep shirt, Jase? I've got to get back to, I've never seen you swim.
5:57Keyzie:No, I've never seen you swim. I've seen you in a bathtub, obviously. A couple of showers.
6:02Jason Hoyte:Do you have really long boardies, Jase?
6:05Keyzie:No. He wears track pants. Mate, seriously. Like, I'm okay with my body at the moment. That's good. I was talking to my wife. So you should be. I was talking to my wife this morning as we were going for a walk, which I'll be honest with you fellas, I wasn't really into this morning. Yeah, did you get to it? Did you start to enjoy it though? Yeah, by the end of it I went, I'm glad I did it. Did you point out in a few houses? I can't tell you, man, but we've lost one of the things we bond over because I fucking hate walks. So if you're going to start walking, then what are we going to do? I know, man.
6:33You're giving up smoking, you're going for walks. I know. You feel good about your body. I mean, what the fuck's going on?
6:37Keyzie:Well, this week. What are you going to complain about, man? I don't even know you. This week I've done an hour and a half bush walk. Yeah. Say bush walk I'll be down for. That's a lie. No, I wouldn't. I've done two rounds of golf. Yeah. And that's a hilly mother. And it's two hours each time. So that's, what, four hours of walking there? And I did a little one today, which I wasn't really into. You count your steps, man? No. Don't worry about it. It's bullshit. It's an arbitrary number. Well, randomly, like if I've got my phone on me, Sometimes it'll say you've completed your 10 ,000 steps and other times it can't be fucked.
7:14Keyzie:Well, other times you haven't. Yeah. Well, yeah, maybe I haven't. You've driven into the random show. It's like it randomly fucking does whenever it wants.
7:24Jason Hoyte:I ran for the first time yesterday in years.
7:26Keyzie:I'm not doing that. How long?
7:27Jason Hoyte:Yeah. Years and years. It wasn't a long run. I just wanted to see how far I could get before I needed to come in. And my high school PE teacher would be proud of me, but still profoundly unimpressed. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Compared to where you were, folks. Felt good. Just start, mate. I will do it again, but I just haven't really prepped anything in terms of running at all because I've just been doing weights training. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How far did you run? I'm not going to disclose that on the point. It's probably under a K. It's always disturbing to me how fucking rooted I am. I was fucked. It's terrible.
7:59Jason Hoyte:My mum called me. Thank God she called me when I was on the treadmill. I better take this. It's my mum. You know what I mean? I've got to listen in. Was it on a treadmill? It was on a treadmill, yeah. It doesn't count. I remember doing it on the treadmill and I was thinking, oh yeah, I'm doing like 4Ks but it was one lap, you know, which is 400 metres. So I was like, oh man, I've done 4Ks, it was 1.6K.
8:23Keyzie:And I was fucking gone. And I told you, I ran on the treadmill all the time and then one day I went, oh, I'll go for a run on the... And I was so fucked because the treadmill's got bounce on it. And when I was running on the footpath, I just couldn't do it. I got maybe half a K and just went, fuck this shit. I remember. You got half a K from your house. It wasn't even that far. You turned around and went home.
8:53Jason Hoyte:I went, fuck this shit. I think there is an element of looking at where you're going and realising how far you're going and maybe that playing into mentally rather than just being in the same place. That's how I think about it.
9:03Keyzie:Yeah, and when we were doing this bushwalk the other day, this dude ran past us and he looked in so much pain and he looked so unhappy and and he was huffing and puffing like hoity joe. There was a guy like that today as I was coming in and he was ripped to shreds you know, had his shirt off, sweating like a bastard. That's the kind of running you want to be doing where you're sweating but you're fit. You're a machine so you're sweating because you're a good runner whereas I would just be a half, as you say, just a doubled over shambles. Yeah, feeling nauseous. You know, wearing bad clothes. I have to say, I've always found it appealing the idea, and I've always liked the idea of getting out of bed.
9:47And making love to a couple of dudes.
9:50Keyzie:On the side. Making love to a couple of dudes. Making a couple of dudes on the side. No, but getting up, putting my shit on and going for a run, getting a sweater and then coming home and having a shower. Yes, having a coffee. Yeah, I've loved that idea. Yeah, so do I. I've just never been able to do it. I can't do it because of my smashed vertebrae that I've got. Right, yeah. So that's that. My back's been so good the last couple of years. Yeah. I mean, walking's better for you. Well, yeah, it's not certainly as you get older. Your knees, there's always common complaints.
10:19Jason Hoyte:Well, same with me being a big dude. They say that you're not really supposed to run because of your joints, but then you get to a certain point, I think, where you go from walking and maybe you try running. You'll be fine, especially at your age. Well, that's what I'm trying to do. It's more an age thing. Well, I wouldn't, to be fair, I wouldn't have started running a couple of years ago. No. For that reason is what I'm saying. Thank God you didn't. For those of you who don't know and probably don't remember, Pugs used to be a fucking huge unit. I looked at a photo at your pool party. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
10:52Jason Hoyte:Anyway. Out the gate. It's so good, mate. You still wear those when. Not that there's anything wrong with that. These ones? Not that there's anything wrong with that. Oh, yeah, wearing them again. My tassel loafers. Yeah, the tassel loafers.
11:00Keyzie:They have to go. They're not going to go. They've served me so well. And worse than that, you wear them with white fucking socks. That's the point. You don't get it though, Jason. Yeah, I guess I don't. We don't. And I say you, but I mean us. We don't get it. Because my sister-in-law thinks that Pugs is an icon of style. Great style. Jesus, that's a huge one. And I don't. But who's he trying to impress? Me or my sister-in-law who's his age? Yes. And she's in a relationship, so you've got a goddamn cheekbone. That's shocking, man. To be fair, I should have made a dress. Yeah, no, that's fucked.
11:35Jason Hoyte:You're a shocker. Who would you guys say are style icons from your Jace, Charlie Chaplin maybe, Mogey? It's just jeans and t-shirts, man. Yeah, yeah. That's all it is.
11:48Keyzie:I don't really have a style icon. I just do whatever. I've got to get some more boots. Hell yeah, brother. Hey, listen to the big show.
11:56Jason Hoyte:I've got to get some more sketches. And t-shirts. I found my t-shirts. You know those t-shirts? Yeah. I found them. Mate. But they're fucking expensive. They don't used to be that expensive. But I probably had those. I probably, no shit. I reckon I've had those t-shirts as long as I've been with my missus. Holy shit. How good? So they last pretty good there, Jase. You know what I mean? I mean, they're not from the op shop. I mean, it hasn't got fucking Tony on the chest. Yeah. Oh, Tony. Oh, Tony. The problem with Tony is that Keezy doesn't like it. and we've done enough stuff where he doesn't like it.
12:33But fuck it, it'll be good, man. It'll be good. I think we can just start calling everybody Tony. I don't think he minds it, actually.
12:39Keyzie:He said, I'm fine if I'm wearing a jacket. Yeah, I know, but that's not enough for me. If we're going to build it, it needs to be every single day.
12:44Jason Hoyte:Well, the point of you doing it is also to annoy him. Well, there is that as well. That's also part of it. But he's had enough on his plate, to be fair, in terms of that. So maybe everyone's a Tony. We'll see how we go. But people like it. People love it. When I was going to post that video of the Tony thing, he was like, oh, you know, what's the kind of social capturing angle of it? And I'm like, because it's fucking funny. Jase is pissing himself. Yeah, it was very funny. I think it got good. Did it go good? Yeah, comparatively to some of the other stuff we put up this week. Yes, exactly. It's just good shit.
13:18Jason Hoyte:Listen to the big show, 47 Weekdays on Hauraki, and check out the IG as well. Oh, please, you simply must. Have a gaze, watch the Tony video. Yeah, do it, man. Love it. Love it.
