In short
The “Big Show” outro chat about editing, “buzzy party” (burlesque) stories, and workplace/admin annoyances, ending with scheduling for breakfast shows.
Guests
None. Backgrounds: Chris (“Jase”), Keezy (“Keezy”), and Pugs (“Pugs”) are co-hosts/talent on The Hauraki Big Show (Radio Hauraki, 4–7 weekdays).
Key claims
Pugs says he kept the outro over 10 minutes; an edit removed “buzzy party” references to avoid implicating non-close friends. Keezy and Pugs discuss how kids/partners react to their podcast content, including a daughter seeing a “pegging special” thumbnail.
Notable examples
daughter messaging “what the fuck” after seeing the pegging promo; Moggy allegedly smacking Jase after wife-related jokes; meeting planning ahead of time causing mild annoyance.

0:10Jason Hoyte:Well, Chris hasn't even got his headphones on, so just thought I'd wait for that, if that's all G, brother.
0:15Keyzie:Sorry, just put these on.
0:15Jason Hoyte:No, it's all good. Just Jase's.
0:19Keyzie:It's just fucking taking forever. It's one of those - Sorry, man. For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show Podcast, get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube, Uben TikTok or Raw Doggett. 4 to 7 every weekday on Radio Horea K. Now be honest, Pugs. Yeah? Did you edit any of the outro yesterday?
0:43Jason Hoyte:What did I say on the podcast? I said, if this is under 10 minutes, you'll know that I've been in it.
0:49Mike Minogue:Well, I don't listen to the podcast. Why would I? I just want to, yeah, because neither do I. Okay. I just want, like, why would I listen back to myself every day? I don't know. I listen back.
0:57Keyzie:I thought it was quite good. I'm not some sort of malignant narcissist who has to hear the sound of mine. I don't even hear myself. I'm a huge narcissist.
1:04Mike Minogue:No, but seriously though, Pugs, just be honest. Did you edit any of it? What? Did you edit any of it? It's fine if you did.
1:10Jason Hoyte:Be honest. I kept it over 10 minutes. No, no, no.
1:12Keyzie:That's all I was saying. That's all I was saying. No, no, no, no. There you go.
1:16Mike Minogue:All I want to know is you don't have to say what specific part, but was it to do with the buzzy party? Is that what you edited out? Yes. Okay, and it wasn't because you were like, oh, I don't want people to think I'm in a buzzy party. It was just because people that might have hosted the party or might have been at the party, you didn't want them to be brought into it.
1:32Jason Hoyte:Yeah, I don't know. I kind of just went off feeling it. I was like, okay, this could be interpreted that way with these people that I'm not close friends with yet.
1:41Keyzie:Does that make sense? I sort of feel that, yes, I sort of feel that if you're throwing a buzzy party that those sort of things would bother you. Yeah, this is the third day in a row with buzzy party chat. How was your day? Funnily enough, I'll tell you how my day started.
2:00Mike Minogue:I'm all good. I'm going to chat about the buzzy party stuff. That's the thing. How often do you have a buzzy party to talk about? It wasn't a buzzy party. This is literally like Groundhog Day. It might be just a regular weekend for you going to a buzzy party.
2:14Keyzie:But for Keezy and I, a buzzy party is a big deal, man.
2:17Mike Minogue:Yeah, man. They're like a dime a dozen for you, buzzy parties. But for me, it's like a blue moon. It was a burlesque party, guys.
2:25Jason Hoyte:Come on.
2:25Mike Minogue:That's just Spanish for buzies.
2:27Keyzie:I woke up to a message from my daughter just on that, not on Buzzy Parties, in the messenger there, and she went, what the fuck? And she posted the Big Show outro pegging special. Yeah. And I was like. Did you feel proud? I don't know how we got into pegging. No, I don't know how we did either. Were you on that one as well?
2:49Jason Hoyte:Was I away? No, you just got the definition of pegging from me in Studio B. Right. I remember that now. Yeah, yeah.
2:56Mike Minogue:Because I remember being like, what is pegging?
2:58Jason Hoyte:Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Pugs, you'll know. You go to busy parties. What's pegging? You guys are talking about using fake phalluses or something. That doesn't sound like something we talk about. No. Definitely not. Sweet as, man. What were we using the fake phalluses for? I don't know. Oh, Jack. I don't know. Jack did a lot of some shit like that.
3:16Keyzie:But it was, you know, it's quite confronting, you know. And then as Keezy was saying to me in the office there, He said, you know, I mean, if my dad was talking about pegging, I'd probably be quite concerned as well.
3:31Mike Minogue:If I was searching for podcasts and my dad's podcast came up and it was the pegging special with a photo of him and his mates in the background, I'd be like, yeah, cool, I'm not listening to that. Did she listen to it or she just saw it?
3:43Keyzie:Oh, I don't know. I think she might actually listen to our podcast. I should keep that in mind. No, don't. But she's.
3:49Mike Minogue:You have to do this in a vacuum otherwise.
3:51Keyzie:Yeah, my girls are pretty, you know, they're pretty tough. They don't give a shit.
3:56Mike Minogue:No, but also I feel like your girls will be quite open-minded and understand that it's in the pursuit of - By now. You've been doing this show for what, five years? I mean, my wife is completely oblivious now.
4:10Keyzie:She's had to deal with this shit for so long. Yeah. It's like water off a duck's back.
4:15Mike Minogue:My wife's back is starting to get quite good water off it as well. Yeah, because they do, Kesey, they reach a point.
4:20Keyzie:Yeah. Because you were saying, you were getting all up in arms yesterday, Pugsun, after the buzzy party chat. You were getting your heckles up. You were getting your heckles. You got your gander up. Would you say I was bristled? You were bristling? No, you were bristling, not bristled. You're not a toothbrush, Pugs. Come on, man. Okay. Talk to Keezy about that. You know, and we were talking about your lovely partner. And you got all, you know, gandery-uppy. Oh, I got my gander up, eh? You got your gander up. Yeah, yeah. And it just occurred to me, Keezy, you know, You and I and our wives, they've taken an absolute hiding from the big show.
4:54Mike Minogue:Well, I don't know if I've given my wife a hiding. Well, no, I mean, you know what I mean?
4:58Keyzie:The verbal equivalent thereof. 100%.
5:02Mike Minogue:They have. Guess who hasn't? Moggy. Yeah. It's bullshit. It's because when he makes a joke about my wife, I go, yeah, yeah, yeah. Whereas as soon as someone makes a joke about his wife, he'll be like, he'll pin you down. He'll pin you up against the wall afterwards and be like, did you ever talk about my wife like that?
5:18Keyzie:You know our relationship's in trouble We did do that once Actually after one podcast earlier on And then we went out of the studio And he smacked me over
5:27Mike Minogue:He smacked Jace over Pugs
5:28Keyzie:Really? Yeah you weren't here for that
5:30Mike Minogue:He smacked Jace over And he said you know You know our relationship's on the rocks Yeah And you're making fun of it on the radio man Yeah And then he smacked him over And then he said button it Yeah And then he pointed at me and said You better keep your mouth shut Mr. Dry Cake Wife That's what he said about me Try cake wipe. Then he hopped in his teeter and drove off. That's classic Mogey. It is classic Mogey. It's classic Mogey. But I suppose, though, Jason, it makes you feel better, the whole daughter podcast pegging thing.
5:57Keyzie:Oh, look, you know.

5:58Mike Minogue:Yeah, but it's the same as when Pugs' mum listens to yesterday's Buzzy Party special. Yes. And goes, cool, my son's doing a podcast about buzzy parties. Well, that's right.
6:08Jason Hoyte:She hasn't listened in ages, so I've actually been pretty chill about all that. Have you? Yeah, yeah. Well, I mean. I've been real chill about it. Yeah, so chill, Pugs.
6:16Keyzie:And this is the thing about being a parent is you've got to love and accept your kids for who and what they are. And if Pug Son loves a buzzy party, then that's all good.
6:25Mike Minogue:Honestly, I would. I have no judgment on that. I'd love if my son was going to buzzy parties every weekend. Totally. I would absolutely love it. I would be really proud of him because I'd be like, son, when I was your age, buzzy parties weren't a thing. Yeah. You know what I mean? I was going to dress up parties and stuff. Yeah, yeah, totally, man. Or you're just going to parties dedicated to buzies. Like that rules, man. Well done And I'd be like You know Because you know how dads You want to try and show an interest In what your kids are into Totally You'd be like Son I'd love to tag along To one of these busy parties Invite me to one of your busy parties Yeah I can dress up I'll bring a six pack Yeah You know what I mean pugs What's that Oh man
7:07Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show Weekdays from four On Radio Hauraki
7:14Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show Podcast
7:16Keyzie:Tell you what What? What's in the brain right now, Jase? I don't know, actually One question I was going to ask you
7:23Mike Minogue:You'll be very quiet today, Pugs Yes, Keezy 1 to 10 Scale 1 to 10 How annoying for you was that promo meeting we just had? Because for me With 10 being really annoying 1 not being annoying at all And in fact being good For me that was like a 2 I thought it was great A lot of stuff there written down And I was like we've got a lot to get through And this is good the way we're going through stuff How did you feel about it?
7:46Keyzie:I'd give it about a four Right okay so it wasn't super annoying
7:50Mike Minogue:No Because I wasn't getting as normal a vibe of you being annoyed
7:53Keyzie:Can I let you know that there was a feeling within me I don't know why That maybe they're getting ahead of themselves a little
8:03Jason Hoyte:But that's what they have to do
8:04Keyzie:They have to plan in advance
8:05Jason Hoyte:Talking about stuff like a couple of months away kind of thing Yeah yeah yeah It's a long way away
8:09Keyzie:You know what it's like where, and it happens to me all the time, and I still do it, and it annoys the shit out of me, where someone will go, oh, would you be interested in doing this? When is it? November. Fine. And then November rolls around and you go, oh, fuck.
8:27Mike Minogue:Well, yeah, because a lot of the stuff we were chatting about was, are you guys good to do this next year in like seven months' time? Yes. Which I get. November's like not that far away though, Jase.
8:37Keyzie:But you know what I mean though? when you're planning that far ahead and it's like, do we really need to be chatting about this? I need to. And I hate it when I commit to shit and then forget about it.
8:47Mike Minogue:I don't want to tell you how to run your life, man. Otherwise, if I did, if I was into that, I would have then said you should run an e-calendar.
8:55Keyzie:I do have an e-calendar.
8:57Jason Hoyte:Can I say I got a five. I was a five on that meeting. Really? Yeah, yeah. Because you usually love the admin. I do love a bit of admin and I do love being organised, but I think quite easily in this office with meetings and stuff, like we can cover the important points and then we kind of like fart around a bit with Chitty Chat about the same point before moving to the next point. And I also think it's just because of the mood that I'm in today in terms of like being organized. I even got Dilly in Studio B today, so I'm kind of conscious of that and I'm like doing bits and pieces here and it's just sort of been one of those ones.
9:29Jason Hoyte:So I think that made me a little prone to getting a five out of that where I was just like we'd cover the important stuff, and I answer the questions, and then it's like, all right, let's keep it moving. We need to keep this in mind.
9:40Keyzie:You make a good point, and it's Keezy that does that. Can I just say? It's not. He does all the chitty chat. Oh, how about we? And, oh, fuck, here we go. What I am, Jase, is he's a team player, Jase. Can I polish your balls some more, boss?
10:00Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, yeah, because I love polishing our boss in particular's balls, man. I love it. But no, but what I am, man, is a guy at the start. Well, not the start. I like to think I'm at the start of my media career still, who's keen and wants to do the best he possibly can. Whereas you're a guy who's done everything. You've been to the top of the mountain, you know? You've been there. And I want to know what it's like up there.
10:19Keyzie:If you think that I feel like I've got to the top of the mountain, you're wrong. As soon as you think you're on top of the mountain, give it away. Where do you think you are in terms of Everest?
10:31Mike Minogue:I'm midway. Right, so you're about the second or third base camp?
10:35Keyzie:Yeah. You're at third base? And the top of the mountain is somewhere in Melbourne or something like that.
10:42Mike Minogue:Oh, like doing a big Aussie show. Yeah, yeah, Triple J with Hoody J. Triple Hoody J. Hoody J on Triple J with JJ.
10:52Keyzie:Now, I'd listen to that. Actually, could you put together a bit of a, you know, for my resume, Pugsan. Could you put together a showreel for Hoody J? Could you put me a showreel for me? And send that to Triple J? I've never done that. Pugs-san?
11:05Mike Minogue:Huh? Jase. Could you do that today? Sorry. Yeah, you need it today, just while the show is happening. We need to keep in mind that Pugs is in a little bit of a touchy mood. I'm not in a hoo-ra-va mood. So he's not in the mood to, like, play along with things, so we just have to, because he's got a lot on his plate. All right? So we just have to keep that in mind. That's all I'm saying. Yeah, Jase. Okay? I'll try to keep it in mind, too. So patronising. What? Come on, guys.
11:30Keyzie:This is what I mean about little greasy kids. Yeah, yeah. Greasy kids.
11:35Jason Hoyte:He's gargling the boss's balls.
11:37Keyzie:He's got, he's fucking, oh, how can I help, sir?
11:41Jason Hoyte:How can I help? Sir, you actually said we'd talk about this today too, just before we go.
11:45Keyzie:And he does that too. He goes, oh, what's happening with that? And it's like, oh, fucking shut the fuck up.
11:53Mike Minogue:That is not true, is it? Yes, man. From now on, I'm going to be totally disengaged. I don't care. I'm Hoidi J, all right?
12:01Keyzie:I'm engaged. Just as Pug says, people just faffing on unnecessarily about shit.
12:07Jason Hoyte:It's only when it just becomes not even about the thing that we're there to meet about that I'm like, okay, all right. Because you get stuff on your plate. Yeah. And like, some days I've got more capacity for fart-assing.
12:18Mike Minogue:I 100 % understand where you're coming from with this because you've got a busy day. Jason and I have fuck all on.
12:23Keyzie:I had a really busy day today, man.
12:26Mike Minogue:No, we have fuck all on. I had nothing on today. I had all this yard work. It was pissing with rain. I couldn't do it. So I kept today free for that. And so it's more about just catching up with people in the office. That's what that's about for me.
12:35Keyzie:I mean, yeah, you could do that in your own time if you wanted. Yeah, I'd do it in your own time. Kesey, not at marketing meetings. Do it in my own time. Yeah. Yeah. That wasn't marketing. It was client integration, wasn't it? Yeah. Can I make a recommendation to you? To who? You. To me? I don't want to plan your life or anything. Right. But if you want to do that, come in earlier. All right?
12:57Jason Hoyte:What time was I in today? He actually does, yeah. I was in a two. He's actually notorious for coming in early, Jason. This is what I mean. You're just rolling on the dot like a cool guy. And did he come in at two o 'clock and go,
13:10Keyzie:oh, g'day everyone. Oh, Keezy's here early. Just doing a bit of show planning.
13:15Jason Hoyte:No, he doesn't really do that. He kind of wanders in at about 10 past two, and then if no one said anything, he'd just play it off and then make his instant coffee. I do quite like just walking in.
13:26Mike Minogue:But then everyone's like, oh, Chris, how you going? And then he's like, oh, g'day. I do like walking in, but the awkward thing is, Pugs, is you walk into an office, everyone's facing their computers and stuff. Do I then go, hi, everybody? Yes. And then you all turn around and go, hi, Dr. Nick. Is that what you're supposed to do? Well, that's what I do.
13:42Jason Hoyte:Really? I say, oh, g'day, guys. I don't. I feel awkward about that. I just ignore you interrupting.
13:47Mike Minogue:I do what Jase does. I walk in with a real sense of superiority and ignore everyone. Yeah. Make a tea, wait for you to say hi to me.
13:54Keyzie:Well, can I just remind everyone? We're the talent.
13:57Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:58Keyzie:You go about tapping away on your little computers there and don't disturb me. It annoys me.
14:05Mike Minogue:But, hey, if you've enjoyed listening to this outro.
14:08Keyzie:Pugs isn't a horror, man. I am not a horror, man.
14:11Mike Minogue:No, you're all good, Pugs, man.
14:14Keyzie:We're doing breakfast tomorrow too, aren't we? Yeah. Funny story. Conscious of that. We haven't got time, Keezy. No, it's all right.
14:20Jason Hoyte:I'm doing Drive tomorrow as well. I'm doing a double whammy. That's a cool story, eh? Yeah, for those listening, for some reason.
14:26Mike Minogue:I don't give a fuck, man. For those listening, for some reason, we've been put on brekkie for tomorrow and Friday. Yeah. Don't know why, but the podcast will still -
14:32Jason Hoyte:Will we still do an outro?
14:33Mike Minogue:Yeah, and it'll upload to our podcast platform. Will we do the outro? We'll record it after the show. I think so. Post-show. It starts at 6.
14:41Keyzie:It'll be fucked if I'm doing it before it.
14:43Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, Jase, I saw a house today for sale. It was on Hua Road. I was going to send it to you. Why would you do that, man? I don't know. Because you -
14:53Keyzie:You'd probably be better off sending it to Pugs today. Yeah, honestly.
14:57Mike Minogue:It was a two-bitty. It was right up around the corner. Hey, listen to the big show, though. Four to seven weekdays. You'll love it on Radio Hode. Love you guys always. So good.
