In short

The hosts’ off-air banter closes out the “Big Show” with talk about sauna routines, food habits (dumplings, mince on toast, sushi), and planning a trip to Brisbane for Magic Round/rugby league, including expectations about partying and hangovers.

Guest backgrounds

No guests appear; only recurring hosts are referenced (Heidi, Keezy, Mogey, Jase, “Old Hoardy J,” and Pugs) as co-hosts/regulars.

Key claims

Sauna sessions (15–20 minutes twice) are causing “puddles of filth”/sweat and possible “toxic shit” leading to breakouts; dumpling timing is “under the gun,” so dumplings are moved to tomorrow.

Notable examples

K-Road pub meeting after “Jase’s six out of ten,” Magic Round planning, and Brisbane food stops like the “Mince House” and river cafes by the “brown snake.”

0:00Keyzie:For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast, get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok or Raw Doggy. 4 to 7 every weekday on Radio Horeke. Oh, g'day fellas. Heidi hi. I had another steam this morning. I'm getting into the sauna. I thought you haven't told us about your first one. Oh yeah, no, I did that a little while back. Was that last week maybe when I was away? Yeah, maybe. I'll be in the whole show. Another steamer. And just left a puddle of filth behind me. Are you shit on that? I was pissing out sweat, man.

0:41Mike Minogue:That's weird because that doesn't usually happen in a sauna, eh? That's odd. Because usually you absorb moisture.

0:48Keyzie:But I'm doing it more and more now. That's twice, is it? No, this is my fourth time now. The only thing is I'm getting a blind set and I'm wondering if all the toxic shit coming out of my body is going to make me break out. It's good for you, man. It's good for you. How long are you doing in there? Oh, we do sort of 15 to 20 in two lots. 15, 20 twice. Yes. But the thing is you're not allowed to theoretically, they don't like you to go from the sauna and plunge into the pool again. No, you have to have a shower before. So you go to the shower and you clean off like that, Keezy, all your filth.

1:26Mike Minogue:Thanks, man. Yeah, yeah. I've never done the hot colds thing. I'm just going to stop you there, Keezy. Old Hoardy J has just said there, in theory, they don't like you to do that, which makes me think that in practice you are jumping into the pool. No. No, no, I'm a good boy. Whatever. I'm a good boy. I actually think you are a good boy.

1:44Keyzie:I am. Who's a good boy? When I was, I'm telling you, when I was a teenager, I was a real goody-goody. Having said that. You're a nuggety little bastard. I did smoke at school and all that sort of stuff, but at heart I was a good young fella. I think you are a good boy. I think you're the kind of man that would be the kind of dog that if you're sitting on the couch and you came up, you get a pat behind the ears, but then you try and fuck someone's leg. And that's hoity jizz in a nutshell. Pretty accurate. That explains a lot. That explains why he likes so many treats. He loves a treat.

2:21Keyzie:Have you got some treats for me, Keezy? I got a treat for you, all right? Magic word there. Cop this. I was amazed today when I walked in, Mogey, old Keezy having a barn me instead of his usual dumplings. Oh. He didn't have time, apparently, and that, you know Keezy's under the gun when he doesn't have time to get dumplings. He's always got time for dumplings. Yeah, totally. I mean, I'm getting dumplings tonight with my wife.

2:43Mike Minogue:Well, my rule is I will find time for dumplings. Oh, yeah. You know what I mean? There's always time. I mean, it's quicker dumpling. How is a dumpling slower than a barn me? So basically the Dumpling Shop is on the walk back from my podcast where I did today, Extremely Casual Gamers. Extremely Casual Gamers, wherever you get great podcasts and also somewhere else where you can get great podcasts, but not yet. So usually I walk back from there, stop at the Dumpling House and then come up to work here. However, today we had to do it earlier. Then I had to go back out west and then come back in. So I looked at it every way I could, but I'm under the gun.

3:17Do the math. You're like a beautiful mind. You're like Russell Crowe. You're trying to work it out.

3:21Mike Minogue:Yeah. Just couldn't make it happen, man. A dumpling algorithm.

3:24Keyzie:So what he's done, Mogey, is he's gone to ban me today and he's doing the dumplings tomorrow, he said. Oh, yeah, good. Dumplings tomorrow, good. He's not having a scenario where there are no dumplings. Well, when you get dumplings on the way home and just park up somewhere. To be honest. Like where the street walkers and drug dealers and old Keezy's sitting in his car just with 20 dumplings in his lap.

3:44Mike Minogue:15. So next week I'm just going to go to the 30. Yeah. Just so that my quota is still. Yeah. You're on track for the year. That makes sense. I wonder what the dumpling's going to be like in Brisbane. Shit. I'm starting to get excited about Brisbane. Yeah. I'm not. I am. But it's going to be so good. Fuck your doubt. Do you ever want to come?

4:06Mike Minogue:See, it's deafening, isn't it? It's tricky, though, isn't it? It is tricky because it's not Chase's cup of tea at all. At all. No. It's like a trip from hell for you. In some respects, yes, you're right. It is. And then for me, at least I love the rugby league, but even I don't love it enough to go for three days. Certainly not to watch, what is it, eight games? Yeah. But we don't. We watch maybe four or five, and the rest we're sort of on Caxton. Well, that's right, but even that's a lot. So my feeling is actually now to not leave Caxton Street at all, except for the Warriors. Really? Yeah. That's crazy.

4:45Because I don't care about the other games, really. Unless it was a really good game, which there's not. Yeah. There's not a great game. The best game of the weekend is the Ways versus the Broncos.

4:55Mike Minogue:On paper, yes. And who knows what it's going to be like in four weeks. But like the weekend, just gone, the best game of the week was the Eels-Tigers. Well, yeah, that's right. And what should have been the best game. Was a shitter. Panthers-Storm. Was a great game in a different way. Yeah. So like you just don't know, guys. So my policy around that is go to All 8. The Hauraki Big Show Weekdays from 4 On Radio Hauraki The Hauraki Big Show Podcast

5:22Keyzie:I mean don't get me wrong fellas It's a great trip Yeah And I'm fizzing about it

5:28Mike Minogue:Jase this year I'm in no way gonna be like Come on Hoity J It's just gonna be Whatever you need man Yeah man Yeah yeah 100 %

5:36Keyzie:And as I say I do want to go and see a bit of Brizzy this time Yeah 100 % So I'll be doing that Yeah And I'll go to the Warriors game for sure. Yeah. There's other people I know that want your tickets so don't feel obliged. It is a great stadium. I love the stadium. It's fucking good. Yeah it is. It's very cool. But I am looking forward to it. Three days of it? Three days, yes. It's a bit much.

5:58Mike Minogue:Yeah. For some people that sounds like heaven and for me my mind's about two days going to the stadium and watching a couple of games both times. One day massively hung over. And one day massively hung over just sort of skulking around Caxton. That's sort of my sweet spot. My dream here is to turn up, not get on it. Not get on it for the whole weekend. Let's be honest. So we're dreaming. Let's be honest. I'm on it. Yeah. Not get on it on Friday because I don't want to ruin the Saturday. Yeah. You know what I mean? I want to have fun on the Saturday. I don't want to because I know what will happen.

6:31I know what does happen. I know what happened last time. I know what's going to happen. Do you remember what happened last time? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I do. And so I don't want to do that this time because it just ruins the whole weekend. So what I want to do is start early and finish early. But I don't think I can do that for three days.

6:47Mike Minogue:It's funny, me and Pugs had a bit of a meeting. I called it after your dinner, Jase. Oh, yes. We went out to a pub on K-Road. That you gave me a six for. Yeah. Oh, yeah. And I felt rubbish that night. I remember now. Siggy's, I ran into Manaya. Yeah. It was horrid. But we had a bit of a meeting that Friday night after Jase's six out of ten. And we were at the pub on K-Road. Oh, yeah. early hours and then I was like, I called a meeting with him. I was like, Pugs, man, what are we going to do about Magic Round? And he's like, what do you mean? I'm like, you know, Jason, he wants to go look at galleries.

7:18Mike Minogue:Yeah. Old Mogey's off the piss in inverted commas. We both laughed about that. Yeah. And then I was like, I need you to be on, I need you to be on form, Pugs. And he was like, I got you, man. Yeah. So he's going hard with me. Yeah, good.

7:30Keyzie:You know, I can't imagine Pugs going hard.

7:32Mike Minogue:Nah, Pugs goes hard.

7:33Keyzie:He does go hard. I've seen him go hard. Oh, really? He's the hardest out of all of us.

7:36Mike Minogue:It's like now, especially trying to keep up with his young missus, he is going hard. Oh, well, that's true. But even still, he actually probably is, yeah. He's out until 5 a.m. like most weekends. He's raving. Keeping up with the young missus. That's right. So he's in good form and he's like Keezy. Because he'd sort of gotten to Keezy sort of styles. Yeah. Where I was still, I was like his missus until I was 37. Yeah, right, I see. Shocking bastard. Yeah, yeah. You were just hoeing in. Yeah. And so he's like, Keezy, whatever rugby league you want to chat, I'm there. He won't be able to respond.

8:05Mike Minogue:and it'll just be me talking at him. Oh, true, that'll be sad. And it'll be him going hard with me, which is great. Yeah, well, actually, we've got some other good people coming along too. Yeah. And they will be going hard. Yeah, well, great. Yeah. Well, it sounds like all those plans are out the door.

8:17Keyzie:Just play it by air, fellas. We'll play it by air. We'll just go from there. And I am – no, I can't say that.

8:23Mike Minogue:And it's like it's the third time we're going, right? So it's like – Yeah, third time's a charm. It's not like it's the first time, you know, we went pretty hard and the second time we went hard again. Yeah. and then this time it's alright so it's just

8:34Keyzie:chill yeah I mean you don't have to

8:38Mike Minogue:can we still meet up for mince on toast? I might expand my horizons when it comes to the mince on toast you don't want to go to that same cafe again for three days in a row? No I don't think so I want to mix it up you know what I want to do I want to go down by the brown snake to the many cafes and restaurants that line that river and eat something there I'm just going to go to the same place the mince joins in the tiny alley Yeah, the mince house. Yes.

9:04Keyzie:Yummy, though. It was good mince. I'll give you that. I feel like Brisbane's got more to offer. Then mince. It's actually making a bit of a comeback, the old mince, I've noticed in cafes. I've not seen it anywhere. I've seen it at two or three places of late, and it's got mince on toast. It hasn't got a carrot in it as well. No, no carrot. It's generally very, very rich, very beefy. Tomato-y? Tomato-y sort of stuff.

9:30Mike Minogue:It's so young. On some sourdough. Yes. You couldn't even get through it all, Keezy. Yeah, excuse me? Your appetite's growing over the last 12 months. Yeah, yeah. He'll order double. Yeah, with you guys there, bloody. The plate gets eaten, let's just say that. Good shit, man. Is it?

9:47Keyzie:Speaking of which, do I want to go and get sushi? What? Do I want to go and get sushi?

9:52Mike Minogue:I think you could. Go shortly.

9:54Keyzie:We'll see how we go, eh, Phil? Let's have a think about it, eh?

9:57Mike Minogue:This is The Big Show, 4Tall7 Weekdays, Radio Haraki. Good listening.
