In short
The hosts wrap up discussing irritability/fixation habits, then pivot to practical home-move planning—rent timing, property management, and dealing with a hazardous collapsed deck (options: rebuild, remove, or replace with pavers/swim pool). They also joke about moving frequently and how partners react to it.
Guests
No named guests appear; it’s an outro featuring the regular hosts (Keezy, Pudge, and “Jase/Jake/Tim” mentioned as part of their show/studio team).
Key claims
Keezy gets more annoyed by things that “shouldn’t” annoy him, especially when planning/editing expectations aren’t met; living rent-free in your head is a problem. Moving can be stress-free if it benefits plans and timing.
Notable examples
Blocking Trade Me purchases, moving furniture into the house to delay rent, and a deck described as a “collapsed” danger area.

0:12Mike Minogue:Sorry, I've turned mine on. Talking talk. Oh yeah, it's not bad. It's not bad. Oh yeah. Ready to go? Yeah man. Fucking hell.
0:24Keyzie:For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast, Get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. Or Raw Dog It. Four to seven every weekday on Radio Horeke. That's correct. That's how we do it. Totally, man. How you going, Keezy? You're good, brother. I seem very quiet. You're right. You seem a bit flat. You're not yourself. What's going on, man? You're like old Moggy was yesterday.
0:49Mike Minogue:What's going on is I'm finding myself getting more annoyed at shit that wouldn't annoy me. Ah. Sure. That was me yesterday. And I don't know why. You'll be sweet, man. You know, you're probably a bit worried. You've got a lot of travel coming up, brother. You're probably worried about the safety of your missus. You might get into a fistfight on the streets of London. Not me, man. You might get stabbed by a skinhead over there. No, there's more likelihood of that happening in Christchurch than overseas. You know, and we go there all the time. It's sweet as.
1:12Keyzie:If it's any consolation to you, Keezy, I'm like that every day. No, I know. No, you're good, though. It's just like, oh, for fuck's sake.
1:20Mike Minogue:No, but like, and I've also got this thing where, and you guys know, I want everything to be really good whenever I do something. I want to prep. I want to plan. I want it to sound great. and when it can't, it really triggers me for some reason. Yeah. It does. It does. You're right, it does. Whereas Jason and I don't really care. Nah, but I think it comes from a background of me like professionalism, editing a lot of stuff and like studying radio. I don't know. I found that as well with the podcasting and stuff because when we set up the studios, like Jake and Tim were like, the audio has got to be crystal clear.
1:57It's got to be like absolutely me. It doesn't bother me because it's a podcast and people are forgiving of it.
2:02Mike Minogue:Yeah, podcasts are pretty chill, which is good. Yeah, radio, except, yeah. But that was annoying given the timing of it, what we've just been through there. Yeah, and it's no one's fault. It's literally just a thing that we didn't think about chatting about until now.
2:15Keyzie:Are you like me? No. Nah, carry on. Are you a fixator? What do you mean? When things like that bug you. Yeah. Have you ever stings with that, Pudge? Probably not. You can't keep your mind off it. Yeah, you just go over it and over it and over it.
2:34Mike Minogue:No, I'm usually, I'm a fixer, as you know. So if something like that happens, I will try to fix it. If I can't fix it, I'll be pissed off about it. But I will either figure it out and remedy it. Otherwise, if it can't be remedied, I am quite quick to just delete it from my brain and not worry. So I don't fix that too much.
2:51Keyzie:I used to be a terrible fixator. I'm not so much anymore. You're chilling now. Because your memory's gone. Yeah, I can't remember what I'm fixating about. Yeah. But, yeah, no, you know, something would bug me, and it'd be like, phew, fucking piece of shit. You're joking. And it would just go in my head. And then I realised, you know, there's a saying, living rent-free in your head. Yeah, totally. I've heard that one. And it's like, I'm not letting you live rent-free in my head. You can fuck off. You can pay rent. You can pay rent. At least, you know. How much do you charge it? Speaking of which, you know, So we're thinking about how much we can charge for rent for our place.
3:28Keyzie:$340? Yeah, we got a guy come in, and he was like, oh. Had a little look around, and he was like,$80,$100?
3:36Mike Minogue:Yeah. Wow, that's higher than I thought. What have you got there? You've got three beds.
3:39Keyzie:Three bedgers. You've got three bedgers. Three bedrooms, two lounges, two bathrooms. Two baths, is it? Yeah. Two and a half. Wow, en suite. Two and a half decks. Wow. Or one and a half decks. That's what we thought about. Because one is a collapsed. That's where you literally fall down. It's a danger to anybody that moves into the house. It is. Yeah. It's good. That's good, man.
4:00Mike Minogue:Will you get that sorted out, man, before you get people moving in? Because that's the sort of thing.
4:04Keyzie:If they injure themselves on it, you could be liable for that. Well, this is the thing. You either – because I told you how much it would cost to rebuild. She ain't cheap. I said$400. Just fuck it off. It's like$20 ,000,$25 ,000. Put a swimming pool there instead. Well, the other alternative is you just swipe it away. Yeah. You know what I mean? You just pull it all down. How high is it? Put some little steps down. It's not very high.
4:27Mike Minogue:Well, you could get rid of it, put steps down, and just put pavers or something. Yeah, yeah. And then that's still an outdoor usable area. Keezy will come over and do that. I'll come around and do it.
4:34Keyzie:Would you, Keezy?
4:34Mike Minogue:You get my dad around to do it.
4:36Keyzie:I thought it would be funny to come around and do it. It could be a good little project for the team.
4:41Mike Minogue:Absolutely hopeless. Then you get to come to my house, Keezy. That would be funny. No, it would be really funny. But no, I'm not coming to your house to get rid of a deck and put pavers down. I can't even be fucked up with that at my house. When do you reckon you're moving?
4:53Keyzie:Well, our plan is October. Is it? Yes. How good. What makes October special? Well, it's just the various things we need to sort before we go. Yeah. So that by the time it gets to October, we've done all the things we need to take. That's great. Yeah. Good shit, man. So you've got your eye on something in town? Well, we went through a little phase where we were looking at heaps of stuff and then we went, what's the point of this? Because we're not even moving till October. No. You know what I mean? No. I mean, it's fun to look at. It is fun to look at. That'd be cool. Yeah. But it's like, well, we're not doing it till October, so fuck it.
5:31Yeah.
5:31Keyzie:Let's not do that yet. That's good.
5:34Mike Minogue:So I think your house too is the neighbourhood it's in and the size of the house and stuff, it's going to be for a family. You're going to relax so much more when you move as well because of yours being such a hardcore area, you know? Totally. What do they call it? A slum.
5:49Keyzie:Yeah. Can you make sure - I get robbed all the time. Can you make sure you have a property manager? Yes. No, we've decided that. Oh, fuck. Because otherwise you'll be effing a jam. I'm not. It's the jam. I'm not fucking doing anything other than - That is also true. Although - You'll be stressing out. The content, the stream of content that would come out of that would be amazing. Yeah.
6:07Mike Minogue:Because they'll be contacting you for shit. It would be like - Can you come over and fix dot dot dot?
6:11Keyzie:Why is this not working and why is that not working?
6:15Mike Minogue:But also like, oh, I went around there to have a look and they fucking put a hole in the wall and all this sort of shit. You just don't want to know about it.
6:21Keyzie:No. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
6:29Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show podcast. Well, I'm moving next week. Oh, are you? Oh, yeah. Overseas? No. Really? We're moving house. Oh, wow. Fuck off, really? Yeah. Why do you move house so often? It's crazy. Well, this one is so we can save heaps of money. Right. So we've got a plan for the year, which I can't go into, but it doesn't involve leaving the big show like Jase. But, yeah, so the proper move-out date is a week after I get back from overseas. And so I'm going to try and move the vast majority of the furniture before Zara gets back. So next week, well, over this weekend, I'll try and move as much as I can so we can get access to the house without having to pay rent.
7:11Yeah, right. Yeah.
7:14Keyzie:When you say move, do you mean move it to a storage? No, move it into the house. I said, want to pay less rent on it, want to push out the move-in date, only want it until Christmas, and want to be able to move shit in without paying for it, without paying for rent on the house. Yes. And I said yes. Great. Really? Yeah. Wow. It's amazing what you get when you ask.
7:38Mike Minogue:Yeah. Yeah. Because if that was me, I'd be like, no. What? No way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, they're always keen to chat about stuff. So, yeah, that'll be good to get into that. When you said the other day that you've moved house like 30 times, you and your partner. Yeah. I can't believe that. My wife and I have moved house twice. Right. And we're thinking about once we get back from Europe, I want to move house for a third time. And I can't think of anything worse than us moving. It's such a baller. Because we're in film as well. Oh, right. So it was up and down to Auckland and back to Wellington and all that sort of shit.
8:13My daughter had lived in, oh, I think she's probably lived, she's six, she's probably lived in eight houses. Wow. Already? Yeah.
8:21Keyzie:Yeah. My wife and I have moved seven times since we've been together.
8:25Mike Minogue:Yeah. When was the last time? I feel like you've been in this house for ages. Oh, we've been in this house for like 20 years. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I can't, like, I think about - The dream is not to do that anymore. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But moving means nothing to me. Yeah, see, it means - I don't give a shit. I'm happy to move if it's to the advantage of whatever we're doing. It doesn't stress me out.
8:41Keyzie:Weirdly, my wife has a mental block about that. About what? About moving. Just in the sense of. The reality of it. Yeah, yeah. I'm like that. I'm coming after. Yours is going to be a fucking nightmare. It will be. Yeah, so you've got to start now. Right now. See you later. Oh.
9:01Mike Minogue:Got the wrap up, man. Shit. Do you not take Pugs playing the wrap up music? externally, man? Well, normally you start when we're talking for a minute. Well, it's only been two minutes, so I thought it was about time. Yeah, good. Okay, fair enough. Thanks, Pugs. But yeah, you should start moving now. Certainly you should start thinning everything out. Oh, we are. Put a block on the Trade Me purchases.
9:23Keyzie:You fellas, what do you do when you get back from your holidays? Helping Moggy move? Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Yeah, well, the move-in date was a week after ZAR got back. I was like, how good would that be? Right. Zar gets back, moves house for me. I get home and it's all done. You come home after that. As if that would happen. She's like, no way, I'll be working and all that stuff. And I was like, yeah, sweet, so I'll do it.

9:47Mike Minogue:Yeah. My wife would be the same. It doesn't occur to her that there's no way that she would do exactly what she's asking me to do. Yes. But honestly, it's stress-free. I enjoy it. Yeah, right. Hey, listen to the big show, 4 to 7 every weekday on Radio Hauraki, man. Really great.
10:02Keyzie:You feel better now, Keezy?
