0:15Mike Minogue:Oh, g'day fellas. Mac man. Hello. Are we sick of that yet? No. Mogey gets sick of everything the fastest. No, no, I'm not sick of that. You're not? No, no, because I do think it's a good name. If we made it the name of the podcast, then I'd be sick of it pretty quick. Yes. I think. Do you guys - I think it's still good. It isn't bugging you? I like that. I love that.

0:35Keyzie:You just did a little cough there, because I want to ask, have you been on the durries this weekend? Yes. Ah. And I drank yesterday. I was going to say, you look hungover. Well, I'll tell you what happened.

0:45Mike Minogue:Are you tired? You look tired. I am tired, because I was home by seven, went around to a mate's place. He's got a rooftop. He's just moved into a new apartment. He's got a rooftop with a spa. Awesome. And one of those wave pool thingies as well. A wave pool on a rooftop. One of those swimming things. Oh, so you get to stay in the middle. Yes, yes. The ones that they have at the thingy. What do they call it? Blacklash. Blacklash. So we're up there and we used to live together in Wellington, me and my wife and him, and we'd do the crossword every Sunday and eat croissants and then drink a bottle of gin or more.

1:20So this is 12 or 13 years ago. Yeah. Anyway, we're not doing that because I'm on the wagon. so we're up at his place having croissants doing the crosswords then he goes out and he comes back out goes inside comes back out with a bottle of red wine yeah for himself and two glasses of water for my wife and I which is very thoughtful of him yes this is at 11.30 in the morning oh he's starting early so I take my glass of water I tip it out do you throw it in his face? come on man and then he pours me a wine and then we rip into the darts all day and drinking Yeah, but then the worst, but it was great, except I said I wasn't going to drink and I wish I hadn't.

2:00But you know me. Fuck, it would have been fun though. That sounds great. It was amazing. It was a beautiful day. You've got a view, 360 degree view. No buildings blocking your view. It's right by our old Frank office in Vinegar Lane.

2:14Mike Minogue:Oh, in Ponsonby there. Yeah, okay. Yeah. Oh, that real flash one. Yeah. Yeah. He's got that. So that was, it was great. But then I got home. We went to bed. I was in bed at nine. Woke up at 11.30. and did not go back to sleep. Yeah. For hours. Yeah. Did not go back to sleep at all, and no, I wasn't on the gear. Because it's illegal. Exactly. Why would you like? Yeah, exactly.

2:36Keyzie:Totally. It was great, but not great today. It's amazing. My wife and I like to go for a little walk around the city, you know, Sunday morning. And every single day? Every single day, yes. You know, and you just wander around and go past all the bars and it's 10 in the morning. people are hoeing into the beersies. And you're like, fucking hell. Okay. Why not?

2:58Mike Minogue:Righto. Righto. Yeah. Good shit, man. Well, that's what I like about international airports. Yeah. You go through that.

3:07Keyzie:What is it about airports that it's like?

3:10Mike Minogue:No, no, no. But international transit, you don't know where they've come from or what time it is where they were. Yes. And it's 5 a.m. here and they are hammered. Yeah, yeah. But it's all G.

3:19Keyzie:But in airports in general, though, people. It's exciting It's totally fine Well you're on holiday Smacking the piss at 9 in the morning Totally So if you're going away to a concert To be fair Then you're allowed to start drinking

3:32Mike Minogue:Yeah And also your experience with international airports In particular recently Has been Magic Round in Fiji Which has involved pretty much everyone being on the piss

3:42Keyzie:But you know what I mean though Generally speaking There'll always be some bastards hitting the piss Yeah fuck you And it's funny Because we went past a pub on Sunday and it was about 10 and the fellas drinking their big tall glasses of beer and I went, what do you reckon darling? Let's get into it. And she was like, oh, couldn't think of anything worse. I could think of that. Okay, cool, cool. Same, same. Having said that, she doesn't drink anyway, not for any reason just that she doesn't like it.

4:11Mike Minogue:I don't really like drinking before lunchtime for some reason. Don't know why. That's the best time. It's like a mental thing for me. It's like once the clock hits 12, it's all G. Yeah, I don't have that.

4:20Keyzie:Did you have, do you also, you guys, and I have it every now and then, not all the time, where, like today was a classic example where it was about sort of one third and I was like, it doesn't feel right to work today. You know what I mean? I just don't have the vibe of it. It just, there's something about today, it just doesn't feel right. Nah, man. You never have that vibe, Keezy? I think everyone. I had that vibe today. Yeah, yeah. Oh, man. This is fucking pissed up. It doesn't feel right today. Yeah.

4:50Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show podcast. I'd say we're very lucky in that most people would wake up at 6.30am, their alarm goes off to go to their hard-ass job, and they don't have the vibe. My wife was up at 5.30. And they go, oh, I don't have the vibe of working today. But they do anyway.

5:08Keyzie:But I'm sure those people have that all the time. They'll wake up at 6.30 and go, oh, fuck. And also they work for like 10 hours. And there's a vibe in the city on a Monday morning. It's very quiet. Everyone's sort of subdued. You know, I say, oh, okay, I guess we're doing this, are we? I don't know, man.

5:25Mike Minogue:Are you angling towards four days a week and then three?

5:28Keyzie:Oh, mate, I've always been a big advocate of four days a week. He always has. Always been. I've got a mate that does that, and as the statistics show, I think it was during the COVID period or whatever, or in general, productivity improves. Yeah. Because people work harder in those times. and get it done. I also love the idea, because it doesn't affect us because it wouldn't be, oh, I suppose it would be possible, of the working from home thing too. Everyone goes, oh no, people just working from home just get on the piss and do nothing. That's not true. Well, working from home would very easily work with us.

6:04Mike Minogue:Yeah. Because we just need to install like some basic soundproofing in a room, good internet, and some microphones and stuff. Well, we've done it before. We did it with, during the COVID period. I did some times working from home. They dropped off the microphones and all that sort of stuff to my house. And we were still in here. And you guys were in here. Whenever someone had symptoms-ish and was a bit iffy, then you'd want them to do it from home. I don't think I ever did. No. But I think you did it a few times. Did you, Jase? I don't think you did.

6:32Keyzie:No, I can't remember.

6:34Mike Minogue:It would have been a disaster. It would have been an absolute disaster. Unquestionably, it would have been a disaster. Microphone plugged into the toaster or something.

6:42Keyzie:It would have been me in my sunroom going, oh, for fuck's sake, why is this? Fellas? Can you hear me, fellas?

6:49Mike Minogue:For some reason, I'm imagining you and Jizz sitting in a little circle there with microphones trying to do a thing. I was talking to my mum over the weekend. She's moved into a retirement village. Yes. She said it was all going good. Everything had moved in. She had a little bit of unpacking to do in the bathroom, but she just walked away from the Wi-Fi router because she was trying to get it working. She couldn't, so she was effing and jeffing it. She just said, look, I've just got to get away from it. But I love the idea that she's there just fuming the same as I do. Yes.

7:22Keyzie:Well, interestingly, in our place, the Wi-Fi is in my daughter's room where it's plugged in. And we're effing in Jeffing if they're a bit because she's constantly kicking it or knocking it and it's coming out all the time. So you'll be watching something and it'll be boop and everything will die and it'll be like, Can you plug in the internet, please? Oh, yeah, sorry, my bad. Fucking. I'm desperately trying to watch this shit program.

7:55Mike Minogue:This shit. Yeah, what was it? I survived. You still watching that?

7:58Keyzie:No, I've gone off that now. I've sort of moved on from that. I was watching this whole movie today with Sean Connery and Michael Caine. Oh. And it was horrifically racist. Really? That's why you watched it. You were talking about the good old days. Like shockingly bad. The man who would be king? Yes, that's the one. Was that in South Africa? No, I think it was in Afghanistan or something.

8:25Mike Minogue:Daniel Dravot and Peachy Karahan, two former British soldiers in India, decide to travel to Khafrestan where no white man has ventured in a long time and rule as kings. Wow. I feel like you typed into ChatGPT a whole lot of things and then said what kind of movie would... It was my dream movie.

8:45Keyzie:Yeah. And then I just happened to find it on Samsung. Nice to see you. God, great little scene there on Broken Wood. Mysteries there, Jase, that I uncovered. Is that an upcoming episode? For the listeners out there, it's Woody J. Being defended by Shane Cortese.

9:06Mike Minogue:Pugs, could you put it on our story per chance? Share it on our story. You've got the right to remain silent. You're not saying anything, are you? That's true, mate.

9:14Keyzie:No, I believe it might get played last night. I did it. Yes, it was the finale of whatever season it is now. Right. So you've got a big part in that one? Yes, I have got a big part in that one. Good, good, good. Is that the outfit? Yes. Yes. Oh, we've got to watch that. Well, no, but having said that, I mean, I wear that outfit in quite a few episodes. Oh, do you really? As I said, I think they do it just to piss me off

9:37Mike Minogue:So hang on, so there was a day where you came in And you were effing and jeffing Because you spent the day redoing this fall thing Wearing the outfit Yes Was that that episode? Yes Okay, I have to watch that, I'm going to watch it tonight I'm going to watch that tonight, I'm going to text my wife

9:51Keyzie:And funnily enough, because I didn't realise that And then one of the locals in our apartment building said I saw you on television last night Ah, there you go And I said, oh yeah, what was that for? And she said, broken wood, very good, very good and I went oh okay you've gone up and put in the esteem of your oh my god they'll be loving you and our old mate who's my sister in the show oh yeah Tracy Tracy she posted that yesterday I think that it was playing last night

10:18Mike Minogue:so was that episode last night one of the most Jace heavy episodes ever yeah pretty Jace heavy yeah I've just messaged my wife and I've said hey tonight we're going to watch the latest episode of Broken World Mysteries but you know what the issue's going to be too long no that's what my issue will be too scary no we love country calendar and location location I bet she'll be like I like this show and we'll end up watching Broken Wood yeah you will because it's that same demo yeah that is it's all this content generally speaking

10:46Keyzie:it is I think would you recommend it though weirdly I have had quite a number of young people that really enjoy it as well they're probably sitting there watching it with their you know parents or grandparents look it's you know it's showcases New Zealand and death. New Zealand production and death. Et cetera, et cetera. I'd encourage all, all to watch it. Good on you, mate.

11:11Mike Minogue:Good on you, Jase. Hey, listen to The Big Show, four to seven weekdays, Radio Hodaki. Good listening.
