0:00Keyzie:For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast, get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. Or Raw Doggett, 4 to 7 every weekday on Radio Horekia. Oh, g'day, fellas. Hi.

0:20Hello. Oh, Keyzie. Oh, Keyzie. Oh, backwards chair Keyzie, you cool motherfucker.

0:26Keyzie:Yeah, what's going on, man? Is this a new you, is it? Backwards chair keasy

0:31Mike Minogue:Just thought I'd sit on my chair backwards today, fellas Is there any wrong with that?

0:35Keyzie:No, I think it looks cool Well, you can try it I don't really have the leg spread that you do You know what I mean? I've got very small legs Building up my calves though, fellas Boy, they're big bastards now I'm sure Not the little beef jerky strips they were before How are you getting them up? By walking Yeah, man So good. I tell you what, Keezy, next time we play golf, I'm going to smash that fucker.

1:04Mike Minogue:Thursday, right?

1:05Keyzie:Yeah, Thursday. It's on.

1:06Mike Minogue:Well, I'm hoping that I'll actually be able to play. I should be fine. Well, what's happened? Well, as I'll explain in the show, I've injured my ankle quite badly. But I'm hoping, because it's feeling better already, I'm hoping that by Thursday she's good to go.

1:19Keyzie:Well, if there was one thing we learned after our sprint against breakfast on the racetrack there after you're devastating blown in. Is that you recover quickly?

1:30Mike Minogue:Yeah. If there was anything wrong in the first place. No, that's a weird accusation. Imagine if I was just putting it on. That's the ACC's accusation against you. Yeah. Is that you injured yourself and the next day you were back playing golf. And then you've just said that it was a very bad injury, but you think you're going to be back playing golf by Thursday. So that's giving them more ammo. You've got to look out, Keezy, man. The thing with the ACC, though, Mike, is they're desperate for content. Yeah, they are.

1:57Keyzie:They're really scrambling for content, those bastards.

2:01Mike Minogue:I don't know what happened with my quad. All I know is that it healed pretty quick, and three days later I did go and play golf, but with a golf cart. Oh, yeah. No, they said the next day. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm quite clear about that. And they missed out the golf cart part. It's just the thing that they do that annoys me is they put mustard on stuff and then it becomes just fabricated. Yeah, yeah.

2:18Keyzie:It becomes true. It does my head in, too, when people put mustard on shit. There's no honour. No.

2:22Mike Minogue:Our show is like, if we say it, it happened. Totally, man. Except for you sometimes.

2:27Keyzie:Exactly as we said it happened. You know what I'm saying? But I am, because I, you know, being in the city now, which is great. Big city life. I miss the bush a bit. I'm looking forward to getting up to a bit of greenery and having a bit of a smack around.

2:42Mike Minogue:See, I reckon what's going to happen is after a year living in the city, you're going to decide to go bush. Well, we could do. You'd be dead within an hour. Help.

2:50Keyzie:No, no, next year we're going to go and live in Vietnam. Oh, yeah, that's right. Really? Yeah, that's the next plan.

2:56Mike Minogue:Fuck, that'd be awesome.

2:57Keyzie:Yeah, I reckon. Just have to find something to do over there, that's all.

3:01Mike Minogue:So are you announcing on the podcast?

3:03Keyzie:Teak. So this is your last year on the big show? So this is what you're announcing on the podcast right now. So this is your last year on the big show? Well, pretty much, man. All I guess it would be. I mean, if there's a way I can do it from Vietnam. I don't think so. What's the time difference? That's actually a good question. I can't recall what the time difference was.

3:22Mike Minogue:Hey Siri, what's the time in Vietnam right now? It's 9.22am. So the show's still there. That'd be perfect.

3:29Keyzie:You could do breakfast. We'll have to get moved to breakfast. I could do from 10 till 2. Yeah. Yeah. And we could just do our shit. And I'm pretty good with technology. I'm sure we can hook it up. Fellas, you can be in the studio. Yeah. I can be in my little bungalow there. It just sounds too hard.

3:46Mike Minogue:I think we just flag it. I think we just flag the whole thing. and just go, well, it's been good. Yeah, it's been a blast, fellas. I might move to Cambodia.

3:55Keyzie:Yeah, okay, that'd be cool. You could motorcycle across. I might move to The Rock.

4:03Good money at The Rock, man. You might need to beep that, Pax. There's good money in that. Really good money. Went to a wedding on the weekend there, fellas. Yes. And while I was there, I got to talk to the bride of the last wedding that I went to, a couple of weeks in Taupo. and she came up to me and she said, I heard you talking on the radio about our wedding. What did you say? I'm trying to remember. That's exactly what I said. I had no idea. It's terrible, isn't it?

4:31Keyzie:Because we say it and then it just disappears from memory. Absolutely no idea. Didn't you say it was shithouse? I remember being concerned because I had to walk a line because it was the Monday after their wedding and not wanting to offend them if it got back to them, but at the same time needing to put some mustard on it, just so it's not too bland. I said, I can't remember anything that was said. I said, were you offended? She said, no. I said, that's good. She said, you said that I gave him a hickey at the altar. Oh, that's right. That I came down the aisle to White Wedding, I think. That's right, yeah.

5:05Let's think about Cody's maybe as well. Yeah. And then at the end, you guys asked if I thought it was going to be a good marriage and we said no he's a shocking bastard. That's right. But apparently one of their parents, I think it was her parents heard it, the break and was playing it for all their mates. Right. Absolutely loving the big show. So we've got another couple of podcasters

5:27Keyzie:there fellas. Yeah great. Yeah no I vaguely recall the discussion but mostly I recall you going now I just need to be careful with this because I don't want it to be really bad and for them to be upset by it. That's right. So you were treading that very fine line of comedy and offence. While also having no idea what we're going to talk about and hoping for the best when we got started. Yes. Trusting our instincts. Yeah, that's what we were doing.

5:54Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show podcast. But there was some good stuff. There was some good stuff at that wedding. A lot of big fan show, big show fans, big fan shows. They're going to be gutted about the whole JS Vietnam thing. Oh, not happy. Yeah, they'll be good. One of the guys won't know because he saves up all of his Big Show podcasts until he does a drive to Kaitaia. Wow. Or because he works for Corrections, the Department of Corrections, and he's bonded. He's 36. He's bonded with his young cousins who are 20, 24 and 26 maybe. There's also maybe two of them.

6:30Yeah, nice. And they all bond over the Big Show because he went back to Taranaki, having lived in Auckland for a while, and everyone there is calling each other a backbone and all this. And he's like, what's going on here? Where has this come from? And so he got put onto the big show. So that's how they connect now. They've got a chat. They send each other videos and shit.

6:48Keyzie:Far out. Oh, that's fantastic. Well, yeah, but, you know, it is the last year probably, you know, and I think you go out on a high, fellas. Or a low, man. You don't want to be – well, or a low. Because you've got to bring it in for a landing, which means the quality has got to get lower and lower and lower as you come down to the runway. Yes.

7:07Mike Minogue:Unless you go up and up and up and then just nose dive. What I think we've got to do is we want the audience to want it to be the last year. That's it. That way we're leaving them with a positive, which is, hey, we are going to step down. We know it's shit. Now, my other great fear would be that, do you know when a show comes back? Arrested Development did it. When a show should be done, and then they come back and they try and cash in on it. Happy Gilmore. Two and a half men. Happy Gilmore 2. Two and a half men. Yeah, okay. That just continued, though. But also, yeah, cut your losses. I feel like we should have on our last show should be so bad that we get fired.

7:46Yes. And then we can never come back.

7:48Keyzie:Yeah, yeah. And people will talk about the show and go, the first two or three years were awesome, and then it was just a slow decline in the final years.

7:57Mike Minogue:Yeah, I think you guys should – what we'll do is we'll do that. You guys do it really bad. Yeah. But then we'll make sure that people were like, oh, at least Kesey sort of kept it together. Yeah, yeah. I don't know, Kesey. It won't be the same without you bombing it as well, man. We're all in it together.

8:12Keyzie:We'll plant seeds for Keezy everywhere. I don't want you planting any Keezy seeds. Seeds for Keezy. We'll just all over the fertile soil, Mogi and I will plant fertile seeds for Keezy to take the reins and, you know, create his own. The new big show. The Keezy show. The Keezy show. With me, Keezy.

8:35Mike Minogue:The Keezy show with me, Keezy. I can call Jase once a week from Vietnam and just be like, what's going on in Vietnam? Yeah.

8:43Keyzie:Xin chào. And then cancelled again. The Vietnam Diaries. What did you just say? He doesn't know. Xin chào, I think, is thank you. Right, okay. But it could also be sorry or how much. Actually, it's a very difficult language to get your mouth around. and when you hear it spoken fluently, it's like, holy shit, I would never master that. It's very fast.

9:14Mike Minogue:English is harder to learn than those languages, though.

9:16Keyzie:I suppose so. Not for J's.

9:17Mike Minogue:Because it's so confusing. Because J's knows English. The different noises that certain things make.

9:22Keyzie:Maybe I'll get one of those sort of audio tape things and just have it on in my headphone. Why don't you just really simplify it and you just stay in New Zealand where you're safe? Yeah, maybe.

9:34Mike Minogue:What about this? Stay in New Zealand and once a week go and get like a pho or a banh mi from somewhere nearby. There you go, man. There you go. Or some dumplings. You're in Vietnam.

9:42Keyzie:Yeah. Yeah. Well, there's plenty of banh mi places around, actually. Where are they? There's one just on Queen Street there. There's another one. It's called Banh mi 77, which I pointed out to someone the other day. Oh, they've got a 70. And there's a banh mi 77 on K Road. And the banh mi at 77 and Queen Street that I have is bloody good. There's something about 77 because there's a joint in Wellington. Must be the year or something. Nah, it's lucky, I think. It is seven lucky because in Chinese it's eight, isn't it? Eight is very lucky. I don't know.

10:17Mike Minogue:In Vietnam. The Vietnamese place I went for lunch yesterday, Jase, I was listening to the couple next to me who were Vietnamese eating and they were on a bit of a date actually. Nice. And the guy was like, yes, this is my favourite place. It reminds me of home, blah, blah, blah. And then she was like, oh, where do you go if you want to banh mi? And he was like, to be honest, the best bar me I've had was at the Auckland night market. Really? Yeah. Because I was listening intensely and I was copying whatever he did when he got his fur, all the stuff he put in it. I did the same thing. Yes. And then when he said that, I was like, I'm going to go to the night market and get a bar me.

10:47Mike Minogue:That's good intel. Yes. It's good to know. It's good to know. Any luck, Mogi? Seven is popular, but it's not as popular as six, which represents prosperity, and eight, which represents wealth and growth. Those are strongly favoured phone numbers in business. So when you start a business, you always want to get yourself a six or an eight in there.

11:10Keyzie:Right, okay. Good to know. There you go. I've got eight eights in my phone number. I've got to set up a business, fellas.

11:17Mike Minogue:Yeah, they're toasties and porn rags, really. It's got nothing to do with luck, fellas. Ah, okay. Not for restaurants. There you go. It's all graft. It's all hard jacker, isn't it, Mogey? It's all hard fucking yards, boys. It must be the year. What happened in Vietnam? It's the last episode tonight, fellas, of Old Deer. Night of the Seven Kingdoms.

11:42Keyzie:Oh, my God, yes. Cool. It is cool.

11:45Mike Minogue:Yeah, no, nothing important. Nothing important. It's a year after the war finished.

11:48Keyzie:It's cool, but it's kind of... And the answer I was born, I think that's what it's. It's cool, but disappointing. Oh, is it? Well, I want more. Oh, I thought you said the last episode is cool, but disappointing. No, no, yeah, it's just important it's the last one of the season. Keezy's miles behind, mate.

12:03Mike Minogue:Hey, listen to the big show, 407 Weekdays Radio Hauraki. I fucking watched it last night with a glass of red wine. Oh, here he is. And 3D headphones on. Oh, red wine Keezy. And it blew my mind. Big show, 407 Radio Hauraki, mate.
