0:00Keyzie:For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast, get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok or Raw Doggy. 4 to 7 every weekday on Radio Horek here. Yeah fellas. G'day guys. Absolutely fellas, you fellas. What a beautiful day. Lovely day. It didn't start off that way, did it? But it's piping hot now. I was working, I had to go home. When I went home and I was going around doing lots of washing. Yes. I had to take my pants off, man, because my jeans had me sweating my bollocks off. Horrid. Horrid it was. Can I tell you guys about an experience I had today at the bakery? Sexual? No.

0:40Keyzie:Yeah. But yes. Disrespectful. Oh, good. Good.

0:44Mike Minogue:Who did you disrespect? You'd like that.

0:46Keyzie:I didn't disrespect anyone. Right. And this, I promise, is a totally true story. You don't look happy. I walked in there and there was a young lady, maybe 18, 20, and she said, good morning, how are you? And I said, good, thank you. And she went, good, thank you. I shit you not. And I was like, what? Sorry? Strange encounters.

1:16Mike Minogue:There's a strange encounter. There's strange encounters.

1:18Keyzie:Sorry? And she went, oh, no, it was nothing. It was nothing. And I went, okay. Was that your local? That's my local. And it was like, oh, good, thank you. And I was about to say some more before she said that. You didn't need to say any more. Well, exactly. And so I bought my curry spring roll and just walked out going, what the fuck was that? How ridiculous. You could equally have said when she said, how are you, you could have gone, oh, how are you? Oh, how are you? But that's what it was. Oh, good, thank you. I was like, what the fuck's going on with the world?

1:53Mike Minogue:That is how old? 18. 18, right.

1:57Keyzie:Wouldn't it be more than that? I was just like. Fucking hell. Did I say good thank you in a feats of manner? Hey, Jase, it's not your fault, man.

2:09Mike Minogue:No, that's.

2:10Keyzie:Anyway, and then I just walked down and went, oh, fuck it.

2:12Mike Minogue:That's bullshit. It is bullshit, eh? How often do you go to that bakery for a curry spring roll? Quite often. And your first time you've seen it?

2:18Keyzie:That's where I get my chicken sandwich from when we're playing golf, Kesey. Right. Yes, actually, it was the first time I'd seen this particular young lady because normally it's someone else.

2:26Mike Minogue:Because you've been in that house for ages. You've been going to that bakery for a long time. Yes. And you walk in and that's what you get.

2:32Keyzie:That's what I got. And in fact, it pissed me off so much that I almost went, oh, I don't worry about it, and walked out. But I didn't because I was hungry.

2:40Mike Minogue:You're a backpack. You want the curry roll. That's the thing that got you by the balls with the curry roll.

2:44Keyzie:Damn it. I can't resist a curry roll. But how was your day, Keezy?

2:49Mike Minogue:Really good, fellas. I met up with the guys we went to Fiji with. Oh, you did go out and play? Nate and Nolsey. Did you play? Yep, we played this morning. Tuckapuna there. It was a bit of a shit show, and I was going to be late for work, so I had to call it with a few holes to go, which is a shame.

3:03Keyzie:We did that the last time we played, do you remember?

3:05Mike Minogue:Yeah, at Tuckapuna. It's too slow. We have to play somewhere else. But our course wasn't available, Jase. But fuck, they're good guys. They're good fellas. Yeah. Really good guys. You see, Nolsey shot a 98. Nate. Fucking Oathie did. Because when we were in Fiji, he, me, and everyone else had a shocker. But he was awesome. He sorted his game out. Yes. And Nate was massively hungover from Metallica. And he got an 84. He got 84. He's a good golfer. He got 84. You'd be stoked with that one, wouldn't you?

3:31Keyzie:Fucking Oath. Yeah. I mean, I would be. But I think he's that good a golfer that it's like, yeah.

3:37Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah.

3:38Keyzie:You know what I mean? It's like, fuck off.

3:40Mike Minogue:But it was good chatting to those feelers. With your 84s. Yeah. Yeah. And then we've come into work and there's a brand new studio set up. It's pretty fancy. It is very fancy. It'll take a little bit of getting used to. Also, one thing I just want to make clear.

3:52Keyzie:What Moggy means by that is he can't perv the filthy bastard.

3:55Mike Minogue:This is what I want to make clear. The only one who can perv now, I'm staring at Pugs. Mike is staring at Jace. Jace has got both windows to perv out of. Can I say I feel like you've straightened up a bit? So if anything, it's just as easy as it always was for you to perv. Thank you, Moggy. The only one that's been robbed here is me, and I'll be talking to Bogsy about it. Yes. Absolutely stitched up. Because it's in your contract that you get to purr, though.

4:17Keyzie:Because, Keezy, you're in the same position. You can still in. How dare you? And you always do the swivel of the head anyway. I like swivel the head. I'm looking directly at Hoere J in real life. Over Hoere J's left shoulder as I sit, I can see another Hoere J, myself, Keezy, Minaya, and Jerry. And over Jase's other shoulder, I can see myself, Jason again, and Keezy. So I've got three of everybody in this room. It's not a great view. Could we put the cricket on there?

4:43Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show podcast. I like it though because I'm looking at pugs.

4:53Keyzie:No, it's good.

4:54Mike Minogue:Well, you've always looked at pugs.

4:55Keyzie:You're talking like you were in a different place.

4:58Mike Minogue:You see this black patch here? Yes. I'll tell you what I like about it. I'll tell you what I like about it. This is a change for the good for me. When I was sitting over there, I was sitting in between Keezy and Pugs. So Keezy would be chatting, but he'd always look past me for Pugs' reaction, and those two would be sharing looks. I don't have to worry about that anymore. It's going to take a full head turn for Keezy to disrespect me in that manner. Because you used to notice that I'd be rolling my eyes and giving the old thumb. Do you remember that in the early days, though? Your eye rolls were out the gate.

5:31Mike Minogue:Well, I wasn't allowed to do much, so all I could do was roll my eyes.

5:37Keyzie:I can't. I mean, I, you know, and focused on the show, said I don't look at pugs anyway. I don't look at pugs anyway. You know what I mean? And fuck it. That felt so good. We've got to do it on here so that we can do that to you all the time. That is so weird, eh? I was so taken aback by it. I was like, what the fuck was that? That's really a new thing. It's great. Yeah, it's good content. But, you know, I kind of like the setup. It's streamlined. It is. And what I really like about it is it's going to be easier to keep clean. Yes.

6:09Mike Minogue:Fucking hell.

6:10Keyzie:Has the desk actually changed, fellas? Or is it still the same desk? It's the same desk. It's got the holes where the towels used to be.

6:16Mike Minogue:It's been rotated. But I was chatting to Liam who wired it all up, young fella, nice guy, and he was like, it was fucking disgusting. Yeah, I bet. Once you lifted the keyboards and the desk and stuff, there was beer that had been spilt by Mikey Havoc a decade ago. Probably drugs and all sorts of stuff. Still everywhere. Yeah. Bottle caps, heaps of bottle caps. Wow. And apparently so many. Not surprising. No, exactly. But just the filth that we sort of get used to.

6:43Keyzie:Yeah.

6:44Mike Minogue:That is a thing, isn't it? Which drives me up the wall.

6:45Keyzie:No, in fairness, O 'Keezy, it was undercover. It was when he pulled everything out that he found the. It's like when you wheel out your oven from the little, you know, your little, and it's like, holy fuck. Because yours on wheels. Yes. When we pulled ours out, it was like, Jesus. Good gold. Holy mother of God. What was under there? No, it wasn't even. It was actually more filth down the side of the oven.

7:12Mike Minogue:Especially when you've been cooking on the top with oil. Yes. And it just makes everything so gross. Yeah, it's not good, man. It's not good, guys. You know what I mean?

7:19Keyzie:Went and saw my first flat today, fellas. I'll talk about that in the show. Don't use your gold here, though. No, I won't. Good, good, good. Not gold. Because this is solid gold. And that will lead us into my chat, actually. Yes, it will. Yeah, very good. I went and emceed a gig last night. Oh, how did that go? It was really good. Yes. A bit rusty, if I'm honest. It's been a while. Do you know what? I haven't emceed one since you and I did the architectural awards. Oh, Christ. Which is, what's that, three years ago or so? Neither. That was a long time ago. How'd that go? Turned down heaps. Yes.

7:47But it was for a mate. So, of course, I don't get paid, which is the best kind of emceed. But he's a pommy guy. I met him backpacking 27 years ago over in Sydney. and he came to New Zealand and started out as a car groomer at this joint, Go Rentals, it's called, out in Penrose. They had 60 cars and he started out just cleaning cars when they returned. And so he's been with them for 25 years to the point where he's running it and he's taken it from those 60 cars. Now they've got 3 ,000 cars. Right. And got revenue of like 38 million. Sweet. How fucking awesome. And he still didn't pay you. Nah.

8:24Son of a bitch. Nah, happy to do it for free but Jesus, it was good. It was good because I only know him as an absolute piss hound, which is what he and I do. But to see him actually in a work environment and go, oh, actually, you've got a brain in there. It was very good. It was really great. I had a great time. What was the event? Just a work event. It was his farewell. So he's done 25 years and he's leaving. So he's actually practically, well, he's not going to retire, but he's leaving. I said, oh, man, retiring at 49. Oh, that sounds all right.

8:52Mike Minogue:Well, how long was he there? 25 years. If you start at GoRentals now. I could start it now. I'll be done by 73, 74. Fuck yeah. Or Jason, you could go and you'd be 50, 64. Yeah, 50 odd. Is that what we're doing? Are you 23 now? Good shit, fellas.

9:15Keyzie:But yeah, she was good times. Listen to the podcast, by the way. Listen to the show.

9:21Mike Minogue:They're already listening to the podcast, Jason.

9:23Keyzie:Potentially no potty tomorrow. Check out the Instagram. Yeah, no potty tomorrow. Oh, yes.

9:27Mike Minogue:Well, let everyone know, Mike, you're at the Film Awards. Yeah, the New Zealand Screen Awards. Jase, you are filming. I am. And Pugs is at a wedding. Yes. And so that has all happened on one day, which means it's all kesey with best ofs. Yeah, man. So there will still be some big show there. Happy days. Yeah, yeah. We'll see you then, eh? Good on you, mate. Bye.
