In short

The hosts recap a great Father’s Day weekend (golf, drinking, and being “not hung, just tired”), then pivot into a comedic segment about “buzzie”/buzzy content appearing on Instagram feeds and a “phobia” of buzzies.

Guests

No external guests. The episode features the regular co-hosts on The Hauraki Big Show (Mogi, Keezy, Jase, and “Jizzbot/Gizbot” as nicknames).

Key claims

Father’s Day golf was well-timed even though it wasn’t recognized by the organizer; one host three-putted after a near-hole tee shot; the “no hangover, just tired” feeling came from sleep/dehydration management and not letting hangover time form; buzzies are like mosquitoes—your feed gets “covered” once you log in.

Notable examples

A golf tee shot landing under a metre followed by repeated three-putting; banning “rippers” (drinks) at a stag; searching Instagram for “Best behaviour” and seeing buzzy images despite safe search.

0:00Keyzie:For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast, get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok or Raw Doggy. 4 to 7 every weekday on Radio Horeke. Yeah man, g'day fellas. G'day mate, how are you man? Yeah good thank you. Can't complain Mogi, all good. No one complains like you, Horete Drake. Yeah that's true, I mean if I did complain it would be extensive. No I'm very good thank you, how's everyone else? I'm good. Yeah?

0:31Mike Minogue:Yep. I am. I'm great. Hey, I'm not saying you're not. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Jeez, you're the best. Hey, guys. Hey, guys. Foulers. Foulers. Foulers. Come on, man. Go, whoa. Yeah. Bloody good. How was your Father's Day, Jizzbot?

0:44Keyzie:Really good, thanks. Yeah. Golf. Well, that was preordained. It was organized a few months ago, this particular. Oh, yes. And actually, the guy Marty that organized it didn't realize it was actually Father's Day. But everyone there went, nah, it's great, man. Perfect timing. So we played on a beautiful course. It was a nice day. It was good. Yeah. And I did Dish Lane, Wells and Manaya. How good is that? Which was even a bigger bonus. Did Manaya cheat? Here's the thing. He'll be filthy about this. Should we save this for the show? Yeah, maybe. Golf chat with Gizbot. Yeah, but it was good. And then we'll save that for the show too, what my wife bought me and made me.

1:25Keyzie:Oh, yes. She's very good on that stuff. I'm not.

1:29Mike Minogue:No, you're useless. You suck.

1:31Keyzie:I do. I really suck at presents.

1:34Mike Minogue:First thing Jase told me about when I got guled in was there's a beautiful tee shot on the fourth hole about how it landed less than a metre away from the hole. Right. Yeah. And then you two-putted it. Three-putted it. Three-putted it.

1:49Keyzie:Three-putted it. A metre from the hole.

1:52Mike Minogue:And the worst part was G Lane was like, you're going to three-putt that? And then he did it. And I did.

1:58Keyzie:I was fucking filthy. Hey, but I'm chill now on the course, man. How are you, man? I'm calm waters. Yeah, while you're playing well, let's see how you go. Oh, no, I played some shit as well. I heard your front nine was good and you blew out on the back nine. Yes. That's what I heard. That's accurate. That's what people are saying about you, man. Yeah, that was accurate. Around the traps there, the word. But, yeah, no, it was a good weekend. I love my weekends. You guys love the weekends now? That was a great weekend. I had a great, great, great all-time weekend. Best Father's Day ever.

2:24Mike Minogue:Did you get steamed over the weekend? Did, yeah. Yeah, I can tell. Don't know why. Nasally, I'm a bit nasally. A little bit. And it was also, it was yesterday. Yeah, right. So it was on Father's Day. My wife got a bit excited about Father's Day. Right. Yeah. Is it because she loves you or is that? Yeah, I think so. Really? I hope so. I don't know. I think maybe she just likes fathers in general. Yeah. Sure. And, yeah, and so if she's sort of on it, she's keen to party, then I'm not one to stop her. No. Do you know what I mean? Yes. When the time comes around, I'm with you. Yeah, sure. So that's what I did, and it was bloody great.

3:01Bloody great it was. Got a great present from her. Very, very thoughtful. Very, very thoughtful. Best present ever. So it's going to be a bit weird because I'm going to be slightly honest on here. Oh, good Lord. About that, you know. Yeah, yeah. I think I should probably give her flowers where they're due, you know. Not actual flowers. I would never give her actual flowers, Keezy. Rookie mistake. You've got to learn that, man.

3:23Mike Minogue:I've never bought my wife flowers Yeah good on you man That's the one She hates them Oh they do yeah No she seriously does She's like it's such a waste of money I know how much flowers are Get me like Get me something that I You know A bottle of wine or something

3:34Keyzie:Yeah a box of piss Box of piss Yeah cause she's a massive pissy Not Keezy's eyes just narrowed I was just like here we go No I'm not having a go to it Cause you talk about the fact that She doesn't get on the piss She doesn't really get on the piss She likes wine though

3:48Mike Minogue:So she's gone to this thing Where she ordered wine online The other day is this international wine she found and loved, and so she ordered a box of it. So, wow, it's the first time we've ever done that.

3:55Keyzie:I've always wanted to do that. Pretty easy. Yeah, I know. Well, yeah, it's not good for you to do that. No, but I mean, I've always thought I'd love a little cellar kind of set up. You know what I mean? Well, not even just a rack of some description, but I just drink it all. Well, exactly. Yeah. What are you talking about? Unless it was full of that iced coffee shit you drink. Nippies. Nippies. But, you know, I've seen some good cellars in my time, boys. Some good cellars. Best in the world? They're not my cellars. They're other people's. I could never afford these. I mean, I'm talking underground, like massive.

4:34Keyzie:Row upon row upon row upon row of wine.

4:38Mike Minogue:There's way better ones in Europe. I'm just going to say that. Simply must go. I went to one that was 800 years old. And there's nothing in it. Oh, it was empty. I drank it all years ago Fuck it was good yeah Apparently a guy named Hoity J used to live there Cleaned it out

4:53Keyzie:That's my dream That would be my dream Of having a massive wine cellar in Spain somewhere Yeah Just tottering down there in my Bermuda shorts

5:02Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show Weekdays from 4 On Radio Hauraki The Hauraki Big Show Podcast So what time did you wrap it up last night? 9 or 10? 9 Pretty hungover? Nah Just tired, man. Yeah, right. Not hungover at all, but tired. Lack of sleep. Yeah. Because then I woke up because of the sugar, you know. The dehydration. The dehydration. It wasn't too bad on the drinking water through the night, but yeah, it was worth it. It was great. I had such a great time. Very happy. Yeah. Yeah. Very content. Punching darts, fellas. I love Mogi when he goes through all these little, like, he's like, very happy. I'm at the gym.

5:43Mike Minogue:I'm off the piss. I'm happy. Yeah. It's like I was punching darts, I was drinking piss, I'm so happy. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, well, enjoy what you're doing. And that's the trick, I think, because if you're doing anything for too long, you stop enjoying it. Yeah. So if you have a couple of options there, oof. Keep moving. But I've really got to get off the piss and get back to the trip. Yeah. It's been a couple of months now. Time flies, jizz. Does, man. Does. I was actually surprised at the end of the stag, too, because it was a two-dayer, two-nighter. I could have done a third day at night quite easily.

6:10Yeah, boy, get it in you.

6:11Keyzie:Did you go hard? Was it second more recovery? Nah. Or you just keep going hard?

6:17Mike Minogue:No, to be honest, the first, like we started so early both days. And so you get to midnight and you're like, oh, fuck, it's midnight. Obviously all the caners there stayed until like 5 a.m. But both nights I think I was sort of back and wrapped up in my bed at about 1 a.m. Great. But we would start at sort of like 11 or 10 a.m. or something. Yeah. And then the third day came around and my body was fully ready to just do that again. You trained it, man. It was fucking awesome. Yeah, yeah.

6:45Keyzie:What? No, it's just something Pugs just said in our headphones there. Well, yeah, I mean, because in that scenario, what's happening is you don't give your hangover time to take form.

6:57Mike Minogue:Yeah, right. But also it was just sweet. Don't know what it was. I was just drinking beers and then you switch to like your RTDs, but not your sugary ones. Yeah. It was totally fucking sweet. Fuck, it was sweet. What about the Rippers? They get the Rippers in? No rippers. That's good. Yeah.

7:13Keyzie:I tried to ban rippers from mine, but it didn't happen. I banned them from mine. And it was like. All of our mates did, actually, I think. It was horrific. I hated it. Genuinely. I was like, no. Yeah. Because you hate buzzies, eh? Keezy.

7:34Mike Minogue:Jase hates buzzies. Can we make that a thing? Yeah, man. That's shocking from you, man. He's got a phobia of buzzies. A phobia of bussies.

7:44Keyzie:It sounds like something that you'd name a group of animals. A phobia. A phobia of bussies. Yes.

7:52Mike Minogue:The collective noun for bussies is a phobia of bussies.

7:56Keyzie:No phobia there for old Hoody Jay. Oh, that's good. You know, I'm, look, I'm. Partial. I'm a red-blooded man. Wow. I used to be a red-blooded man. There you go. Thanks, mate. You know, but I don't go out of my way to seek them. No. Well. Unlike someone. Or your feed is riddled. Don't you fuckers. Don't bring me into this. Start talking about buzzy feed. Where was he? With you two absolute shockers.

8:32Mike Minogue:No, I could fire up my phone right. Easy. Pretty sure. Oh, Big Weekend. I don't know what I was browsing. I can't. Easy as. I don't know what I was browsing over the weekend. Happily, happily.

8:41Keyzie:Mine's just this Asia. It's very golf-orientated and very, oh, no, that's YouTube. I don't really go on Instagram.

8:54Mike Minogue:Yeah, mine's all good. It's mostly food. Yeah. Yeah, no, there's no buzzies in there. Clean as a whistle. Even after a stag where you can fell, it's how good. Let's have a look. Oh, what is it? Best behaviour. Search. Mate, that's pretty good. Look at that. Dogs I've just got nothing but buzies Someone shampooing You know how like the screen is just Oh there's a few buzies It's just tiles No there's not Jase thank you very much Show us yours now Jase man Yeah let's see what you got there Jase I got some dogs Why haven't you got safe search on man What's that about I don't even think my phone has that What's this guy doing Yeah good stuff man Yeah it was a great weekend God it was good Heads of buzies Because look Oh he's not even showing it He can't even show it You showed yours Keezy I've shown I don't even know how I don't even know how The icon is there Dr.

9:45Buzzy Fingers

9:46Mike Minogue:Now hit the magnifying glass Bottom left corner And then just show it to me Straight away And show Mike as well Give us a look man There's a teddy bear

9:57Keyzie:There's golfer dog Eating a banana Oh that's disgusting You're a filthy bastard It's fucking boring Unfortunately It's disgusting man

10:05Mike Minogue:God damn it. I knew you had a buzzy phobia.

10:09Keyzie:I mean, you don't really go on Instagram for buzies, do you?

10:13Mike Minogue:How would you know how I go on it? Yeah, you mind your business. I actually don't go on Instagram for buzies, no. You just end up there. You just end up with them. Yeah. They do find you. Yeah, they do. They're sick. It's like when you're driving at night and then mosquitoes start - Yeah, you can't trust them. They start landing on your windshield and splatting. And then by the time you arrive at your destination, it's just the whole windshield's covered. They're lying dormant in Instagram world. and then Keezy logs on and it's like, oh, he's here, he's here. And then it's like moths to a flame.

10:41Mike Minogue:What are you talking about, mosquitoes hitting your windshield?

10:44Keyzie:What are you talking about, man?

10:45Mike Minogue:When you drive at night and bugs hit your windshield and you don't realise how many buzzies have flown your way until you stop and you arrive and you hop out of the car and look at the windshield and it's just covered in buzzies. There's buzzies everywhere. You know, it's a metaphor. It's a metaphor. It's just the buzzies. The buzzies. It's just stupid.
