In short
The hosts banter about vaping vs cigarettes, how convenient vapes are, and how vaping affects lungs; then they pivot to crude jokes about “pounding away” during sex and how they’d rather not imagine each other’s lovemaking. They also swap daily updates: gaming podcast, getting a truck warrant, and a cousin visiting from America. They tease an upcoming “Swingers Club” event in Fiji (about five weeks away), including travel logistics for golf clubs and plans to practice at a driving range.
Guests
No named guests appear; it’s a roundtable of the Big Show hosts (Keezy, Phil, Jase, Mo, Pugson) with one mention of “Pugs in Studio B.”
Key claims
Vapes are worse than cigarettes for lungs; vapes are too convenient and may reduce smoking due to social backlash; sex with a vape is unsexy and “pounding away” is disgusting.
Notable examples
Switching to Nicorette; vaping outside not setting off alarms; cousin driving to Hawke’s Bay after landing; needing to measure golf club luggage to avoid extra fees.

0:15Keyzie:Yeah man, I'm just seeing directly behind you the guy having a vape outside. He's running the same vape as I am. He's the first guy I've seen running the same vape as me. What a backbone. He's a massive backbone. I don't bring my vape to work anymore of course Phil. No, that's right. It's been a good change for you, man. Yeah, it has.
0:32Mike Minogue:Will you bring it to golf tomorrow? Yes. Yes. Whoa. So I was literally just asking.
0:37Keyzie:Yes, I will, Keezy. Yes. Especially if I'm having to suppress my rage. You know what I mean?
0:45Mike Minogue:Did you use your vape Sunday when you were playing golf? Quite a lot. Yeah.
0:49Keyzie:Yeah. But no, I'm trying to cut back on the old vape as well. Because I was actually hurting my lungs more than the bloody ciggies did. Yeah. So it's not good. I'll just get Nicoretta again, I think. It's good that you've come out the other side of this because you were sort of in this period where you were celebrating the vape. Oh, no, it's good as a girl. Much better, yeah, yeah. But I've been a vapist. Yes. And I know that it's shit. Yes, it's not good. And that it's worse than ciggies. And you're right, as people say, it's like, it's very convenient to just - Too convenient. Yeah, to just wheeze away on.
1:24Mike Minogue:You literally could smoke a whole vape in here and it wouldn't set off anything.
1:27Keyzie:No.
1:28Mike Minogue:Whereas ciggies, you know, you have to go outside and put them on. It's a whole palaver. And also people hate it. And also. So you're actually more likely to smoke less because people hate it. And you're like, oh, I can't be bothered.
1:37Keyzie:Yeah. And also it's not as sexy after you've made love, having a vape instead of a durry. Yeah. I can imagine you sort of like pounding away just with the vape in your mouth.
1:49Mike Minogue:And you're breathing heavily. Breathing heavily.
1:52Keyzie:Excuse me, Keasy.
1:53Mike Minogue:And it's the vapes out one side and you're just vaping. Pounding away. while I'm vaping. You're vaping out. I could see it. Yeah, we can all see it. I think sex has got a really low value for you.
2:06Keyzie:Well, look, I've got to be honest with you. I'm slightly complimented by the fact that you think I pound away. He's got it in him to pound away these days. I'm picturing you. I've never pounded away, Deasy. I have never pounded away.
2:22Mike Minogue:So I'm picturing you pounding away with that, and you've got that hat on. Like a rabbit, and you've got a rabbit's little cotton tail as well. Jesus Christ. And you're really getting those hind legs into it. Oh, my God.
2:35Keyzie:You've got that hat on and your boat shirt or something. No, he turns his cap around backwards because he means business. Because it's go time. Far out, man. Pounding away is a horrendous turn. Is it? Yeah, it's disgusting.
2:51Mike Minogue:I think pounding away. I have never pounded away. It's a standard, yeah. What's wrong with pounding away? Well, it's just disgusting.
3:01Keyzie:In what way, though? Well, it's just I don't want someone pounding away at me. Oh, you don't. No, of course not. And just the concept of pounding away.
3:13Mike Minogue:To be honest, it was just a turn of phrase that I chose rather than saying.
3:18Keyzie:It's aggressive. It's full on.
3:20Mike Minogue:Well, it can be, Jase. Love making is all things.
3:23Keyzie:I mean, I can imagine Pugsun pounding away, for example, but I don't like to think about it. You can and you do, Jase. You can and you do. I do not want to think. No, you can and you do think about it. If I think of any of you guys pounding away, I immediately have a very, very poor opinion of all of you.
3:44Mike Minogue:Can you picture me pounding away? I don't want to, Keezy, and I'm not going to.
3:50Keyzie:Because then you have to involve Because then you have to involve But weirdly the partners aren't there It's only you
3:56Mike Minogue:I'm just pounding away with a silhouette Yeah There's no The partners aren't there Well I've just sort of I'm looking up at you So I'm sort of POV Oh you're looking back Maybe a little bit over the shoulder You put yourself in doggy And you're sort of looking back No I don't imagine you being as exotic As getting into doggy at any point As doggy exotic is it? For you it is For me yeah yeah yeah Totally I can be pretty drunk to do that. Oh, no. Even to have the lights on is like, oh. Oh, yeah. But, you know, sorry, Jase, for saying that you pound away. That's just disgusting. What do you do? Describe it.
4:32Keyzie:I'm not going to tell you my lovemaking technique. Do you engage with circular hip motion? Suffice to say, it is not pounding away. What is it? I'm not telling you what it is, man.
4:46Mike Minogue:Okay, what I'll do is I'm going to do like a tempo And you stop me You stop me when I get close, alright? No, no, Keezy No
4:57Keyzie:No No No
5:08Mike Minogue:Yes Jesus It's just those last two pumps, what do they call it?
5:15Keyzie:Well, you see, even there, pumps. I know, I know. It's a disgusting phrase. It is. I'm appalled by all of you. So is Pugs in Studio B. Pugs is literally, he's filming this and loving it.
5:28Mike Minogue:He's filming this and loving it. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show podcast. If you had to sort of watch one of us pound away. No.
5:42Keyzie:No, Keezy. You'll get your opportunity in Fiji, I reckon. I have no interest in watching you guys pound away. Easy in the bunker. I could not think of anything more horrendous. The Swingers Club. Come to Fiji. What did you losers get up to today?
5:56Mike Minogue:You don't care, man. Oh, I'm interested. Really? None of your beeswax. For the next four minutes and one second. I did a gaming podcast. Oh, yeah. ECG, baby. Extremely casual gamers. Yeah, check it out. Yeah, man. Wherever you get your gaming podcasts. Then I took my truckie for a warrant. Oh, how did it go? Flew through. Flew through, man. Always does. Yeah. Always does. But I actually spend more time yakking to the mechanic and his son Jack, who are family friends of ours. I'll go there. I'll spend two hours there.
6:20Keyzie:Oh, so it's a family friend that's giving you the warrant. 100%. And then it nearly bursts into flames. I'll sort you out, Keezy. Don't worry about it, mate. No, the days of getting dodgy warrants are over.
6:28Mike Minogue:You can't anymore.
6:30Keyzie:Look, you've got to be careful with this little truckie. She could go up in flames at any stage.
6:37Mike Minogue:But as long as the brakes work, it's got tread on the tire. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
6:40Keyzie:That always used to fuck me off. What? You know, oh, you've got to change your tyres. It's like, oh, really? That's where I'm at. It's like thread. Yeah, on the track. Come on, man. Tread. Tread. Not thread.
6:52Mike Minogue:Yeah. The thread on the tyres. Well, I guess, you know, because you've got your whole family and then you want to keep them safe, right? Yeah, that's one option. So that's the thing. That's what makes me go, oh, yeah, fair enough. But I guess you don't think about stuff like that. Too busy pounding away. Exactly
7:16Keyzie:While I'm driving Yeah Far out man Holy hecker Well you gotta change it up fellas You know what I'm saying

7:24Mike Minogue:Is it a manual as well?
7:28Keyzie:Oh God What?
7:31Mike Minogue:I just asked about if the transmission of your car is manual And you're picturing some sort of weird
7:38Keyzie:Why did you ask if it was manual?
7:40Mike Minogue:Because you'd be pounding away and driving and shifting gears. I thought that would be a lot harder than - Yeah. Yeah. You're a manual operator. You sicko. Why? You're a sicko, man. Mo, what did you do today? What did I do today? Well, my cousin turned up. He turned up. He flew in from America. America. So hang out with him for a little bit. Has he been working there? No, no. His missus is American. Oh, right. And they're in, I think, the Carolinas somewhere. Oh, yeah. So been down there for three months. He's been there. but of course a visitor's visa, so he had to get out on the three months.
8:12Yes.
8:14Keyzie:Because otherwise they send you to a foreign gulag if you want to stay, mate. Well, even a local gulag. Yes. Yes, but then he bailed. He was initially going to stay the night, but then he thought, well, before this jet lag kicks in, why don't I drive to the Hawke's Bay?
8:28Mike Minogue:Good idea. So he drove through the night? No, he landed this morning. Oh, landed this morning. Are you not listening, Kesey? And then he worked till about midday or one, and then he drove off. Yeah, right, okay. So all things going well, he's made it. Yeah, so nothing too exciting. Managers work, I don't know, mate. I'm just sort of waiting for the next thing to come along. I just need this bloody swingers club to turn up, to be completely honest with you. How long have we got? We've got like a month and a half, something month. Yeah, five weeks. I think it's five weeks from this Friday. Are we allowed to say that?
8:56Mike Minogue:I don't know. Are we allowed to say when it is, Pugson? Yeah.
8:59Keyzie:Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think so. Yeah, good. I mean, yeah, I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be good. Oh, it's good.
9:05Mike Minogue:I found out because I was going to take my own clubs over. Oh, yes. Because I've got a luggage bag specifically for that, for travelling. Yes, of course you have. Yeah, I got it for Christmas. And it's great because I go to Christchurch all the time. And I was just like, I'll just take that. And in New Zealand, usually no issues. But Pug's got an email back saying he's going to have to measure it and tell us how much over this it is and then he'll have to pay extra. Right. And blah, blah, blah. So I'm like, oh. Just give us the clubs, man. Just give us the clubs. Yeah. I was just like, well, it's just a nice excuse to use my cool bag.
9:32Mike Minogue:Yeah, totally. But no, I'm just going to have to use the higher clubs, man. So if I shit the bed, that's my excuse.
9:37Keyzie:Yeah, right. That's good. Preloaded.
9:39Mike Minogue:I'm not using these clubs, man.
9:40Keyzie:Yeah. Yeah. Well, I'm actually excited about that because it'll be better than the shit ones I've got.
9:46Mike Minogue:Yeah. Well, we might have to, just to get used to them, we might have to go to the driving range beforehand and just pound away for a bit.
9:52Keyzie:Yeah, sure. I knew you'd like that. Yeah, dirty bastard. My opinion of you during this podcast has dropped dramatically, Keezy.
10:01Mike Minogue:Did you have really quite a high opinion of me?
10:02Keyzie:Well, you know, I was talking yesterday about how sensibly you were dressed, but actually now I realise you're just a filthy bastard.
10:09Mike Minogue:A merchant of filth. Yeah, a merchant of filth.
10:12Keyzie:Talking about pounding away all the time.
10:15Mike Minogue:Not all the time. Most of the time. I mean, God. Well, as long as this doesn't go on YouTube or anywhere, like that should be sweet as. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
10:20Keyzie:I've just sent my wife a video that's very controversial. I'm just about to read her response.
10:26Mike Minogue:Oh, that's good. I'm glad you sent it to her. I think she'll think it's funny.
10:28Keyzie:I think there's potential for that for sure. We'll find out in the next couple.
10:32Mike Minogue:What's your gut feeling right now? She's pretty good with that sort of stuff. Yeah. Like, I thought, I was a bit of a fee about the, I didn't cheat on my wife thing. My wife watched it and thought it was funny. It was just, oh.
10:44Keyzie:Yeah, well, they get to that point, don't they? Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
10:48Mike Minogue:Anyway, listen to the big show, 4pm in the afternoon until 7 every weekday on Radio Hauraki.
10:55Keyzie:Do you want to know what she said? Yeah. She said, I mean, the fans will love it. Laugh emoji. Oh, there you go. There you go, that's great. That's not a yes. Yes, it is.
11:06Mike Minogue:It very clearly is. Yeah, she loves it, man.
11:09Keyzie:No, she didn't love it, but she said the fans will.
11:12Mike Minogue:But she's laughed at it. She's not a fan of my show. Which doesn't mean, yeah, it sounds like it used to be. Wow. I know your partner very well. I think that's a yes. That's a definite yes. Just say, is that a yes? XX, sweetie. Day Day Thanks for listening See ya See ya later
