In short
This “OUTRO: The Debrief” episode is a comedic wrap-up after the hosts return from a Fiji trip and record a special “Fiji Files” segment. Topic: post-holiday fatigue, “nesting” routines at home, and the chaotic, hammered resort recording experience (including resort curfews, a brief beach party, and plans to release edited clips).
Guests
no formal guests; it features the main hosts (Jase and Mo mentioned) plus attendees from Fiji Files—Nathan and Nolsey (winners), and Ryan (“straggler” from Wanaka).
Key claims
the Fiji Files recording is “fucking great” even if listeners will be on Monday commutes; it will be released with bleeps/music; the beach party fizzled due to no booze.
Notable examples
G-Lane’s intentionally disgusting wax patches on the desk; Kylie Minogue played at the resort; a choreographed line dance; Jase smashing a Fiji Gold bottle; dart-punching anecdotes; debate over posting a 30-second Fiji clip and a cigarette video.

Automatic transcript. May contain errors.0:00Keyzie:For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast, get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok or Raw Dog It. 4 to 7 every weekday on Radio Horek here. Oh g'day fellas. Hi Jase. Was that a bit much? It was. I apologize.
0:21Jason Hoyte:Jase I'm all for it man, don't ever let anyone bring you down.
0:24Keyzie:No it's not that I, you know I just sense that we've just been on such a great little expedition. Everyone's sort of down today because, you know, we've come back from a tropical island, for God's sake, and it's windy as F outside.
0:39Mike Minogue:Do you know what's brought me crashing down to earth? What's that, mate? Is that we walk in here, you know, try to put on a brave face, and there are four wax patches of G-Lane's back pubes sitting on the desk. And they've done that intentionally too. Yes. That's a classic G-Lane move. I'm going to leave these here to fuck people off.
0:56Keyzie:Yes, it's massively disgusting. Of course it is. But he knows that. It's not, I mean, old Pugs Island has like a carpet of back here and that's quite luxurious and nice. Yeah, it's silky, yeah. It's silky. I don't want to see lanes sort of, and it's only just above the butt as well. It depends who it's attached to, right?
1:19Mike Minogue:Totally, it is. And also, yeah, it's just, and for him to, like, and I know, I can literally picture him being like, oh, we'll just leave these here to fuck people off. Yeah, yeah.
1:28Jason Hoyte:And it's worked. I also see it as kind of like a, given that it sits right above the crack, sort of a mud guard, like a mud flap situation. So any like sort of poos that go flying out the back of him or his fart particles will get caught in them. Yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? So they're just sitting there over on the bench there.
1:44Keyzie:At the moment that there's lane fecal matter, just sort of. Well, I'm sorry. There probably already was lane fecal matter. That's the issue.
1:51Mike Minogue:You know, wafting around in the air here. NZME is full of lane fecal matter New Zealand is full of lane fecal matter Especially the North Shore area So that makes me sick But how are you guys feeling today because I'll be honest My wife was working from home today And I was like I'm not putting an alarm on Because I was absolutely fried yesterday
2:10Keyzie:Well it was a big day to be fair It was
2:12Mike Minogue:It was a big day But I thought I was sweet as Until you get home and I was just lying on the couch Fortunately didn't have to do the show and I drifted off to sleep for like an hour and a half just on the couch and that never happens.
2:26Keyzie:Same here. I did exactly the same thing, but it was a little bit later in the day. I don't know about you guys, but when I get home, I have to do a bit of nesty action. Right. What does that mean? What it means is like our place, my wife had been so busy over the weekend and it's looking amazing. Our deck's nearly built. Yeah. And the builder was there when I arrived yesterday, and he was doing a great job. It's looking really good, but I need to do things like a quick vacuum. Really? Yes, because it grounds me. Oh, is that what you mean by nesting? Yeah, nesting in the sense of I'm back home now, so I just need to – and then I've got this addiction to antiseptic wipes, so I'll just get a lot of those out and just wipe benches and stuff.
3:15Keyzie:It's just a grounding thing for me. Really?
3:17Jason Hoyte:Yeah, totally. That's bizarre. I'm the same as you in the sense that I can't sit down and relax until everything's done in any scenario. And if I'm more tired, I've got even less reason, so I go even further. So after you guys left me at customs or bag pickup or whatever yesterday, I got through customs, got out, got the Uber, came here, dropped all the stuff off, had a chat on here with Tony Lyle, and then went home, went to the supermarket, picked up a bunch of shit for the house from the supermarket, did all my washing and then by that time I was making dinner I got home
3:53Mike Minogue:dropped my bag drove straight to Eden noodles
3:57Keyzie:really?
3:58Mike Minogue:what did you get? I got my favourite dish which is check it out if you're in Auckland by the way and there's probably similar ones around the country but it's the two types of noodle mixed together with magic sauce yes and I always get the wide noodles medium with extra Sichuan pickle which is the cabbage leaves which is just amazing. Yes. And I absolutely destroyed that, left my bag on the ground, lay on the couch, boom, out for an hour and a half, and then woke up and did the laundry and tidied up a wee bit.
4:27Keyzie:You see, see, I mean.
4:28Jason Hoyte:I respect that. I respect that.
4:29Mike Minogue:I need a two-hour charge-up period first, though. Yes.
4:33Keyzie:But, you know, it was about 8 o 'clock, watching a bit of TV with my wife there. We've had all our chats, just dozed off. 8 o 'clock? That's a shocking time to nap. I never doze off How long did you doze off for? About an hour Did you have a shit sleep after that? No actually I slept like an absolute stone And stallion And a stallion So standing up And woke up with a huge rager Did you actually? Well don't we all?
5:07Mike Minogue:Oh yeah Really? Yeah cool Oh yeah I got out of bed this morning Guess what time? I'm going to call 10.30. 10 a.m. on the dot. Yeah. And that wasn't me lying in bed being lazy or anything. My wife got up at 7.30, I think it was, because I didn't send an alarm. I was like, I was just going to doze a little bit. I opened my eyes and I felt like absolute assholes and then looked at my phone and it was 10 a.m. and I was like, holy fuck. Yes. We were very, especially Saturday night, because we stayed up until like 1.30 or something, and then we were up. Well, I woke up quite early anyway the next day to go snorkeling, so I probably had like four and a half hours sleep or something.
5:47Mike Minogue:Yes. Because I always wake up at weird times on holiday. Yeah.
5:50Keyzie:Super early. And there's something about being in hotel rooms that doesn't go with me anymore. When you're by yourself. I used to love a hotel room and now not so much.
6:00Mike Minogue:We've got Saturday night too we recorded a Fiji Files special episode of the podcast. It's 53 minutes of recording.
6:07Jason Hoyte:Hey, I was trying to wrap it up, man. We'll see what the – yeah, no, I was trying to not wrap it up. I was not. Like the final edit will be
6:14Mike Minogue:About an outro's length Well that's the thing How are you feeling about it at this point Jase?
6:19Keyzie:Well I remember that it was long It was fucking long And that Mogi was chatting a lot
6:27Mike Minogue:That's the most I've seen Mogi talk ever Yes All very nice things Oh it was great But he was loving it Which I was loving it But I think it was because it wasn't an normal outro It was a change of scenery It was a change of topic New people And he was loving it A small audience We're all steamed In my room.
6:42Keyzie:And the audience was weird.
6:45Jason Hoyte:Yeah. Wow. Yeah.
6:48Mike Minogue:No, they were great. No, Al, yeah.
6:50Jason Hoyte:Yeah. We had a straggler, which threw me off. Yeah, Ryan. He was a legend. He was a lovely guy. Really lovely guy. Lovely guy. Yes. But it was the way that he didn't sit down. Yeah, because he just didn't want to intrude, man. No, but he was so welcome. Yeah, he was excellent. Everybody was welcome to my room. Yeah, the podcast studio set up. The winners got on the Fiji Files pod. And they were great chat They were? Yeah, they were awesome Great Lovely, lovely blokes And then Jase smashed a bottle A Fiji gold bottle in my hotel room Do you remember that? Did I really? Yeah That's when I started trying to wrap the potty up It was because you weren't on the podcast at one point And you were livid that you weren't on the mic So you just buffed it at the wall Nah, I'm just kidding You just knocked it off the bench Sorry, fellas And then I was like
7:33Mike Minogue:Here, Jase, you can come have my seat
7:35Jason Hoyte:Yeah, and then Mike put a glass directly where the Fiji gold bottle was. That's right. And Jase was still standing there. I was like, Mike, move the fucking glass. Yeah. The Hauraki Beach Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. The Hauraki Beach Show podcast.
7:52Mike Minogue:It's really hard at a resort because they shut things off at 10.30. Yes. And then it's like - We tried to get a party going on the beach,
8:00Keyzie:but it didn't really happen, did it?
8:02Jason Hoyte:No, it happened for a brief moment.
8:04Mike Minogue:I got some Kylie Minogue out. Yes, you did. I think we were trying to get the other people involved. What we should have just done is just gone the fellas down there and just had some darts and played some music and drank some beers or something. But we actually were out of booze. Yes.
8:17Jason Hoyte:And also the people that encouraged the party in the first place stayed where they were seated. Yes. Which I asked them about. Well, they did a very spectacular dance. They did. They did. They did a line dance. Yeah, all choreographed. It was awesome. Boots on the ground.

8:31Mike Minogue:Yeah. I played that song for my wife last night. She enjoyed it. Ah. I was like, I reckon you'll like that song. I played her the video of them dancing She do line dancing She would probably love to do line dancing Yeah That's the sort of thing she'd love to do But yeah so what do you reckon the chances of us releasing this Fiji podcast are
8:47Jason Hoyte:100 % I think it'll happen They'll just be things that will have bleeps
8:53Mike Minogue:And also music
8:55Jason Hoyte:Just a warning we are like Why are you looking at me while you're saying all that I'm looking at everyone in the room I'm looking at you less than I'm looking at Chris And I'm looking at myself in the reflection of the studio
9:05Mike Minogue:But like it's one of those things where is it good to listen to guys who are fucking hammered?
9:11Keyzie:Yeah, exactly. Which people will be like, yes.
9:13Mike Minogue:Yes, think about the batch files. Yes, and Ryan, the straggler from Wanaka, who's a top bloke, he was like, because I was talking about it outside with Megan, he was like, is this even good to listen to? He turns around and he's just like, this is fucking great. But he was also hammered. So that's the issue is I'm like, you know, you're on the bus on the way to work on a Monday morning, you listen to some hammered.
9:35Keyzie:Yeah, it's definitely a case of let's review that, shall we? Yeah.
9:40Mike Minogue:Do you remember, Jase, me trying to start the podcast? No. And me being like, Jase, can you just do a little intro like, hey, welcome along to a special Fiji edition of the Big Show podcast? No. And you were just like, fellas? And I was like, no, no, no. And you're like, this is important. And then nothing would come out. And I had the music ready to go. I was like, Jase, so hopefully that stays in. We'll see how we go. But it was bloody, bloody fun. And if you were looking at our Instagram videos thinking, God, that looks great. It was fucking great. It was great. The winners, Nathan and Nolsey, are two great New Zealanders.
10:15Mike Minogue:I don't think we could have picked better. No, that was fucking good, man.
10:18Keyzie:And in actual fact, I was just saying to Keezy before Pugsun that we need to invite them out to Waitaka, they have a bit of a bash. Yeah, I'll play golf with them again.
10:25Jason Hoyte:You asked Keezy that, but you didn't really ask me. Yeah. 100%.
10:29Mike Minogue:Oh, do you want to come play golf? Oh, the problem is, Jase, we played midweek. Yeah. So let's play on the weekend.
10:34Jason Hoyte:and then I kind of have other ventures and stuff. Yeah. Toe-fue making and that sort of thing. Yeah. Save it for the show, man. They were excellent guys. They were. Can we do a big poll today on whether or not we post the video of me smoking a cigarette on the Instagram?
10:47Mike Minogue:I was actually thinking a big poll of do we release the Fiji files and do we play like a 30-second snippet of it?
10:53Keyzie:Well, on the smoking front, Oh, Keezy Mo...
10:58Mike Minogue:Oh, no, let's talk about this on the show. Let's talk about this on the show. Because I don't know whether or not you did have a dart.
11:05Keyzie:Well, I was more going to refer to Pankagan having like seven on the trot. And I'm talking bang, bang, bang. And I was going, Panksy, what are you doing?
11:16Jason Hoyte:I don't know what you're.
11:17Keyzie:It was unbelievable. In about 20 minutes.
11:21Mike Minogue:I don't remember him doing that. Yeah, neither. When was that? Was that on the Saturday?
11:26Keyzie:That was on the Saturday while we were sitting at the bar. Really? He was punching Dart one after the other.
11:32Jason Hoyte:If I could remember that happening, if I could recall that happening, I'd be very upset because of certain people that listen to this podcast.
11:39Mike Minogue:But I don't remember that. The only dart I remember you having was when you tried to do the thing me and Mogey were doing, the Kramer smoking a dart while drinking. And that was somebody else's dart. That was my dart. That was someone else's dart that I took off of. And that was the only one you saw him smoking? That was the only one I saw him smoking.
11:53Keyzie:Wow!
11:54Mike Minogue:Yeah. Hey, Jase. He must have gone off to the toilets and secretly done it there. Oh, yeah.
11:58Jason Hoyte:But with Jase, obviously, because Jase remembers seeing me do it. Yeah, yeah.
12:02Keyzie:Well, it's just that there's about three videos of me staring at you having a dart. Yeah, to do the Kramer thing.
12:09Mike Minogue:Yeah.
12:09Keyzie:No, he was just having a dart.
12:11Mike Minogue:Was he? Guys. Pugs, I don't remember this. Oh, sorry, is that the time? Huh? We're wrapping this sucker up, man. You done? No, it just ended. Yeah, it's good. It's because we're... Chitty chatting.
12:19Jason Hoyte:Good chitty chat. I could do this all day. Post-Fiji, you know, it's good shit. So do I need to go find a 30-second clip of the Fiji Foss?
12:25Mike Minogue:I thought about that on the way in, and then I got distracted by the fire alarm and stuff and the annoying black capsule. Oh, you're here for that, were you?
12:32Jason Hoyte:do that at a later date too like I feel like
12:36Mike Minogue:fresh after.
12:37Jason Hoyte:You reckon? Is it annoying? Is it really fucking annoying? No it's not annoying at all. I can 100 % go do that but yeah I'll need to go do it now. Yeah I think so.
12:47Mike Minogue:Because it's a little 30 second clip of that and then being like oh Big Pole should we release the Fiji Files? Should I just do the first? Literally just the first 30 seconds. And don't play me and Jase any of it unless you want to pre-listen to it. You pre-listen. Yes. Yeah, I don't care, and I just want to hear it live and just be like, is this shit? Not like I remember. I remember it being fun. It was so funny. I remember trying to zoom out and be like, this is bad.
13:12Jason Hoyte:You did. You kind of clocked off at one point, and I could see it in your eyes that you were so done. Yeah. You had to wrap it up. Yeah, I was just done, man.
13:18Keyzie:I can remember Nath. Oh, Nath was saying he's never laughed so much in his entire life.
13:25Mike Minogue:He was rolling it, but he was fucking hammered. This is the part we're all missing. Yes, it was hilarious because we're all hammered. Yes. Okay, well, let's do that. Thanks for listening. Good to be back. Mo, you'll be back next week. The full show back together. Yeah, man. We'll see you later.
