In short
The hosts wrap up a “Big Show” audio project, discuss upcoming release timing, and pivot into personal banter about bachelor weekend, sleep/spooning routines, and a friend (Moggy) traveling in Europe. They also complain about missing/unclear money from a sold-out theatre show and tease management/name changes.
Key claims
the new recording was “nailed” despite no prep; releases typically sell out; theatre show revenue distribution is unclear (about 17% to theatre, 83% unaccounted); Moggy is “on holiday with nobodies” and needs drinking buddies; Europe keeps him “still hot.”
Notable examples
Backbone T-shirts, “Night of Culture” sold out; “Oasis today, Recover Monday…” Europe itinerary.
Guests
none—only the regular hosts (Pugsan/Pugson, Jase, Hoody J, Dilly, Toddy, Prebs/Prebs away, Angie filling in).

0:15Keyzie:Yeah man. Yeah. How you going pug son? Oh shivers.
0:19Jason Hoyte:Talk me through it man. So essentially there's a project that we've been working on here at the Big Show for a little minute which we can't spoil here I don't think yet. No. and today is the due date for the audio for that. Right. So I've been getting that ready. Since this morning, I've just been tidying it up because, as you know, there was a lot of stuff there. Yes. Too much, and then I had to add more stuff in that we wanted to include in this thing. Correct. So I was trying to make space for that, and that was really hard because the recording that we did was really, really good.
0:52Keyzie:It was actually, and we can't really talk about it yet, I don't think. No. But it was one of those things, this is what we'll talk about.
1:00Jason Hoyte:Yeah. And actually, we nailed it.
1:04Keyzie:A hundred percent. I didn't even really sort of know how the conversation was going to go. There was no prep. There was no prep for it. I mean, which is highly unusual for us.
1:13Jason Hoyte:I know. Improvising on the big show.
1:16Keyzie:But I just want people to know also at the moment that Pugsan's having to do it hard today because Dilly's away. So he's doing all the work. Go easy on Pugs day. Plus he's having to do the show with old Hoody J
1:27Jason Hoyte:Oh and that's fucking notoriously hard Exactly
1:30Keyzie:It's been really difficult for me Just one more week till the fellas get back though Pugson
1:34Jason Hoyte:Yeah it'll be sweet Yes You guys did that so well That I was able to Divide it appropriately Right Again without going too much into it But it's like structured really well And so that'll come out I guess within a few months, couple months or something like that. Yeah.
1:56Keyzie:I've got a feeling it's going to be a bestseller.
2:00Jason Hoyte:Yeah. 100%.
2:03Keyzie:Generally anything that we release sells out. Yeah. You think of, you know, the Backbone T-shirts, all that sort of stuff.
2:11Jason Hoyte:Night of Culture.
2:11Keyzie:Night of Culture. Yeah, sold out. We never saw any money for that though, did we? Somebody did. That was the interesting thing. We did a theatre show that sold out two nights and we didn't get a dime. No. I have to look through my contract for that. And then we keep talking about where did that money go,
2:25Jason Hoyte:but nobody really knows. Oh, was there money? I think there was like part of it goes to the theatre hire at least. But where the rest of that goes is unbeknownst to the fellas.
2:37Keyzie:I think it was, I think, 17 % to the theatre.
2:41Jason Hoyte:17 is oddly specific.
2:43Keyzie:Well, that's the numbers I was given by those in the know. Oh, okay. Yes. Right, right, right. So that leaves another 83 % unaccounted for. But you don't care, eh, because you do it for the people? At$180 a pop. That's quite a lot of cash.
2:58Jason Hoyte:$180, yeah. And we were looking at$200, I think, but we thought because we're people. Yeah, we're the people's people. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How are you? How was your weekend, man? I was an absolute sloth. That doesn't surprise me. Bachelor weekend, man.
3:13Keyzie:Yes, and I – but there was something to be said for doing nothing. Like I was practising my chipping on my backyard there, watching a lot of movies, lots of Uber Eats. Lots of jacking it. No, I didn't really jack it. Oh, I'm sorry, man. That's tough. Well, I mean, I could have if I wanted to. I mean, there was no one there to stop me from jacking it. No, that's right. You know what I mean? Yeah, except for maybe jizz. I'm not a filthy bastard like you and just jacking it constantly. I don't have that same...
3:46Jason Hoyte:Virility.
3:46Keyzie:Well, back when I was your age, I did. Yeah. You know, I was a virile bastard. I don't doubt it. That's why I've got a thousand kids. But these days, it's just like, as I've said before, you know, I'll get halfway through and go, oh, you know what? I'm just not into myself anymore.
4:01Jason Hoyte:Oh.
4:02Keyzie:You know what I mean?
4:02Jason Hoyte:Come on, man. I'll be into you for the both of us.
4:04Keyzie:And then the little fella will just sad to the side.
4:08Jason Hoyte:The little fella.
4:09Keyzie:I'll just lie down there on the couch and just go, oh. Ah, saved. Just put another movie on. Just get some more Uber Eats. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show podcast.
4:27Jason Hoyte:I feel like you needed, I feel like you might have needed a little chill time for old Hoody J. You've been going full noise. You've been carrying a lot, really, the show the last couple of weeks.
4:37Keyzie:I'll tell you, it was really nice, but my wife gets back tonight and I'm stoked. Yeah, of course. You know what I mean? And it's like, and even I didn't sleep very well, which I never do when my wife's not there. Yeah. Because I can't do the sort of spoon-y. Nah. I've got a real routine when I go to sleep. Yeah. Spoon for 10 minutes.
4:58Jason Hoyte:Why are you doing that squeezing motion with your hand? Yeah, right. Pugs arm, please. Sorry.
5:04Keyzie:Spoon for 10 minutes.
5:05Jason Hoyte:Yeah.
5:06Keyzie:And then I roll to my side and fall asleep. Yeah, see, I sort of run a, what do I run?
5:13Jason Hoyte:It's an embrace. It's a lovely, lovely embrace. Are you? It's not a spoon. Sometimes it's a spoon.
5:20Keyzie:Are you being spooned or are you the spoonie?
5:23Jason Hoyte:No, it's more of like there's a nestling into the buzzy of Pugsam. Into the buzzy of Pugsam. Yes. And then, you know, too hot or like time to get over to my comfort spot. And then sometimes there's a spoon there, you know what I mean? But that's usually, it's not usually a spoon straight away. There's something deeply comforting about spooning.
5:47Keyzie:I would agree with you, yeah. Nestling into the warmth of a buttock. You know what I mean? Because I don't know how you fit in bed is really important. I mean, I don't know how you and your partner fit.

6:03Jason Hoyte:And no one will blame you for not knowing.
6:06Keyzie:You've sent me some pics, but it was really hard to sort of make it out.
6:10Jason Hoyte:It's also dark and I'm trying to take the photo. So, yeah, yeah.
6:11Keyzie:Exactly. But my wife and I, we fit. You know what I mean? It's like a little jigsaw piece.
6:18Jason Hoyte:Yeah, that's cute.
6:19Keyzie:That's real cute. And so when she's not there, I sleep terribly.
6:23Jason Hoyte:For me, it's more of a large puzzle piece with a much smaller puzzle piece. Yes. If that makes sense.
6:29Keyzie:Well, you're a big unit, and I say that. No, yeah. I say that. I mean, you're looking sensational at the moment. No, no, I'm not fishing. I'm not fishing. We've previously talked about how hot you're looking at the moment. Guys. And we've also mentioned the fact that, you know, you've been to gigs and been hit on.
6:48Jason Hoyte:Yeah, that's so rare. A lot. No. The only reason I brought that up in the first place is because of how rare it is that it needed to be content on the radio show. You're very kind. You're very kind. We talked about it a lot in Brisbane, actually. How hot you were. Weirdly. Yes. Mike was, like, all over it, which is very kind. He was, yeah.
7:07Keyzie:And how nice to get some stuff from Mogi today, finally. Oh, how good.
7:11Jason Hoyte:Some content. And he's in Europe.
7:13Keyzie:Yes. But he's needing some buzzy buddies, which we'll talk about on the show.
7:17Jason Hoyte:Yeah. And somebody actually messaged me on LinkedIn, a connection on LinkedIn, saying, hey, I've got mates over in the UK.
7:23Keyzie:Does Mogi want to sort of hook up?
7:26Jason Hoyte:Yeah. Well, Mogi says he would love to meet them. So it'll be perfect for them.
7:30Keyzie:Because I was thinking he would make me – because he's by himself now because his wife's come back, I think. Oh, really? Oh, shit. True. He's literally, well, that's what he said in the message. Did you not even read it, Pugs? Barely. He said, I'm by myself and it's boring as shit.
7:46Jason Hoyte:Which is crazy to me. Yes. I'll quote you specifically. I guarantee if it was you and I, you or I, in Europe by ourselves, we would not get bored. No. Obviously, we'd want our partners or friends to add to the experience, but we could easily, like when I went to Japan, classic, in Japan, I went off on my own adventures many times and I was not bored once because you're in a foreign country and you're exploring stuff that you otherwise wouldn't ever, ever see or may not ever see again. Absolutely. And that's enough for me. But him, I think he needs more of like a full on - Well, he just needs drinking buddies.
8:22Jason Hoyte:Something more thrilling, yeah.
8:24Keyzie:And I quote, I'm on holiday with nobodies and it's fucking boring. Oasis today, Recover Monday, Sightsee Tuesday, Hammer on Wednesday, Recover Thursday, Fly Friday.
8:38Jason Hoyte:At the time we're recording this, he is at the gig. Oh, is he? Yes, I saw it. He's put up some videos on his Insta story. Yeah. Which is so cool to see. Yes. So bloody cool to see. And he's still looking hot. Still hot, yeah. Yeah, really hot. Even though he's going hard on everything. But I guess the Europe effect would do that to you. You know what I mean? It would. So that would be good. If you're over in the UK, get in touch with old Moggy. Send him a message request. Totally, man. Do it. See what he's up to. Good shit. You know what I mean, man? Yeah, totally, man. I'm excited for another week, Jase, especially with our new name.
9:13Jason Hoyte:I feel like we've finally found our foothold.
9:15Keyzie:Well, we've got some not good news on that front. Shit. Okay. And it's to do with management. Once again, I put it in the chat. You obviously didn't read it.
9:23Jason Hoyte:No, because I'm talent these days. I leave the message reading to a Dilly in Studio B, even though he's not fucking here. He's not, is he? Poor guys.
9:31Keyzie:It's just me and you and Toddy here at the moment. and it's, Prebs is away as well, dog roll.
9:37Jason Hoyte:Yeah.
9:39Keyzie:So Angie's filling in. It's all very sort of quiet and weird.
9:43Jason Hoyte:It is for a Monday, and it's been a cold Monday, so it's been a funny day. It's fucking freezing today. Yeah.
9:48Keyzie:I was going to play golf, and I went, actually, no.
9:50Jason Hoyte:Yeah.
9:51Keyzie:Too cold.
9:51Jason Hoyte:Did that Pee Waka Waka thing freak you out? Yeah, man, it did. Did it have you thinking about? My own death? Yes, it did. But it's not necessarily your death. No. It's also a message from the afterlife?
10:04Keyzie:Yes, on that front, I think I know what it was.
10:07Jason Hoyte:I'd like to hear about it off air. Okay. Listen to The Big Show, 47 weekdays on Hauraki and the Insta at Hauraki Big Show. Good shit.
