In short

The hosts recap a week of nightlife mishaps and “paparazzi” culture—anonymous secret podcasts, witnessing a suspected drug exchange, and arguing about young people filming strangers (including “meta”/AR glasses) and posting videos online. They also discuss being offered drugs while traveling and hangover/booze regrets.

Guests

No specific guests appear; it’s a solo “outro” segment with the hosts (including Keezy and Mogi) talking to each other.

Key claims

Filming people in pubs is rude and should be regulated; drug-dealer delivery bikes are common in Amsterdam; anonymous “secret” call-in podcasts can be entertaining but may be too explicit; heavy drinking leads to brutal early-morning misery.

Notable examples

A scooter delivers a small package; four men collapse on town-hall steps after an apparent strong drug; a pub patron asks for cocaine; someone films the host’s face while he’s out; drug offers in Vietnam/Portugal/Amsterdam/Las Vegas (including “sugar” confusion).

0:00No. For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast, get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok or 4 to 7 every weekday on Radio Horeke. Oh, g'day fellas! Hello!

0:20Mike Minogue:I like how we've got an intro to the poddy now. We do. Yeah, we do. We should change the name of the podcast to G'day Fellas Backbone. Hello. Yes. That would be a good name for a podcast. Yes, it's very good. G'day, fellas, backbone. Hello.

0:33Keyzie:God, I tell you what, we went away for the week. Fucking picking a podcast sometimes, God, it's a pain in the ass. My wife and I driving up to the batch must have spent three quarters of an hour fucking around with podcasts. We were halfway there by the time we found one. Why don't you listen to some deftones? Because she's not really into the deftones. Why don't you put that real hard-out sexual one on again? Oh, yeah, what was it? Oh, the secret one. Yeah. You missed that, Mogi. The secret one. It's this podcast where people ring up and they're anonymous. Oh, the culprit they've ripped off us, yeah.

1:12Keyzie:They tell a secret that they've never told anyone before. And it's actually a really good concept. And my wife is like, it's really good because they're totally anonymous. And you've not heard it before. And I'd not, and anyway, so my wife and my daughter was in the car, so my wife said, oh, let's do that one. That's quite good. And so this podcast started, my daughter in the back, and this 19-year-old girl started off with, yeah, I think, oh, no, she was about 20 by then, she said. I think I was about 18 or 19 when I first got into arse play. And there was a pause, and my daughter in the back was like, Did she just say arse play?

1:57Keyzie:And then it went into her talking about her fascination with arse play. And we all just cracked up and went, okay. Maybe not this one. Maybe not. Are there any other secrets? Let's can it. Can it, fellas. Can it, fellas. Can it, would you? I was nearly reduced to doing our podcast, but then she wouldn't want to listen to that either. She already listens anyway. No, she doesn't, man. Funny story yesterday, fellas. Here we go. Because, you know, I know you had a big weekend, Keezy, and you're feeling a bit, you know. Oh, Keezy over there.

2:30Mike Minogue:Still good to go, fellas. Yeah, you're good to go, mate. I'm good for content, man.

2:35Keyzie:So my wife and I were going up for dinner last night, just into town there. Dumplings? No, we ended up getting something like a bang-bang chicken salad. You guys are obsessed with Asians. What is that? We can't seem to break the Asian grip we have on our cuisine.

2:51Mike Minogue:I had Korean for lunch today.

2:53Keyzie:Yeah.

2:53Mike Minogue:Did you? Very nice. Yes. It's everywhere. Bulgogi.

2:57Keyzie:But maybe you guys can help me with this. So we're walking down past the town hall, right? And it's dark and there's four dudes and they're running and they're shouting. And my wife and I are like, hang on, what's going on here? Anyway, they run past us and they go up to, you know, where the car park is next to the town hall? Yeah. Yes. And this dude, and I hear this guy go, oh, there he is, there he is. And this dude turns up in a scooter. And this is right in front of us, right? And these four dudes and the guy on the scooter, and there's a transaction that goes on. And it's not a transaction that's food orientated.

3:38Keyzie:It's some, and the guy on the scooter, you know, he was a relatively dodgy looking dude, as were the dudes that were talking to him. They exchanged a little package. And we were like, okay, what's that about? What was going on there? Anyway. Did you call the cops? We go. No, of course not, man. We each to their own, Keezy. Good chill, man. We go and have dinner for about 45 minutes. We come back without a word of a lie, and these four dudes are lying on the steps by the town hall, fucking out to it. Really? Not. They were conscious, but they were all just splayed like spread eagle. lying on these concrete steps, not an utterance from them.

4:25Keyzie:And we were like, what? Isn't that an amazing turn of events? What the fuck did they just take? What were they just picking up and they just went, acid? No, you have a bit more life in you as well. And it would take longer to sort of kick in. But whatever it was, it was fucking strong. Wow. Maybe they just had a big doobie or something. But even then, you wouldn't be. Nah. You'd be more hyper.

4:51Mike Minogue:Isn't that funny seeing the start and the end of that little journey? Yes. And you just cut out the middle bit there? All you needed to know was what was that guy's phone number?

4:58Keyzie:Yeah. Damn it. And then we were speculating. I mean, they must be all over the joint. Yeah, fuck you. Who's that? The scooter delivering these little drug runs everywhere. They're probably fucking everywhere.

5:10Mike Minogue:In Amsterdam, there's a certain type of bike that looks quite similar to the bike we've got that we're giving away. And if you see people on that bike, everyone calls them the drug dealer bikes. Right. Because everyone on those bikes is a drug dealer. And they're just everywhere. They're going around everywhere in puffer vests, giving out, you know. The good shit. The good shit, man. Sucking it hard. We were asked over the weekend, because we're at the pub in this country town, this lady comes up. She's, oh, what are you guys all here for? Oh, just a golf tournament. Oh, yeah. Have you guys got any cocaine?

5:38Mike Minogue:She would have been like mid-40s. And we were like, oh, no. She's, oh, okay. I was told that you guys had cocaine. I just want to get some cocaine. And we're like, oh, no, we don't have any. It's like, how good? Okay, sweet. See you later. Straight up front. Yeah, it was very interesting. Interesting. A few interesting interactions in that pub. But why did you lie to her? Oh, it was all gone, Boogie. Oh, right. Yeah, yeah. Backbone, backbone.

5:59Keyzie:You might just want to get a little, just, yeah, there you go. Yeah, on your moustache there, Kenzie, just to get, you know.

6:06Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show podcast. Have you guys had this? you probably haven't because you don't go out to pubs as much you don't go out to pubs as much anymore it's not ass play mogie it's there's a new thing and it's the younger the younger generation do it people that are like 20 they come up to you with their phone out recording you it's it's happened to me a few times young fella comes up keasy just filming right in my face yes a few people have done that to me have they done it to you yes yeah and all the guys i'm with who are like mid-30s like my age they all couldn't believe it they were like that guy just fucking come up and just start filming your face and yelling at you and I was like yeah I wouldn't I know but the problem was it was just like I'm in a pub full of all these and it was just like the last thing I wanted is that guy to have a video of me being like can you fuck off mate you know what I mean it's a precarious business and yeah it was very interesting and then we were chatting about it afterwards and they're like fuck that's rude it's really rude very positive you don't do that it's just rude I think It's really fucking rude.

7:14And also what's coming out now is they're having the Google glasses where you can't see it. Oh, the meta glasses, yeah. And now they're just putting them into any old glasses. You can just adapt them. Oh, fuck. And so there needs to be a rule on that where those are illegal. You shouldn't be able to go around just recording everybody. So normal glasses, Jase?

7:29Keyzie:Oh, right, okay. And in the frame of the glasses are lenses. And so people are just recording you all of the time and all of your interactions and you've got absolutely no idea about it. And then they can just chuck it up on social media and it's all good. Yeah. Yeah, everything's fucking insane. What is the guts with that in terms of? You can do whatever the fuck you want. Is it really? You could just take a video of whoever and just post it.

7:51Mike Minogue:Yeah, and then they might have to do legal action against you to get rid of it or something. Right. But also if they don't know who it was that uploaded it through a burner account or who the fuck knows. Yes. But I'll just say it's an interesting way the younger generation are interacting. Yeah, but is it? Yeah, it is. It is. I was very like, ah, it's massively bullshit. Well yeah They need straightening out Because you don't realise That it's rude So do you reckon That's the way You'd smack them over I'd certainly Have a word And you wouldn't smack anybody I've never been in a fight In my life But yeah

8:20Keyzie:Fuck that Yeah

8:21Mike Minogue:Especially when you're camed Like Come on man Fuck that And this is the thing as well Is like When you're People really want to get Videos of you like Hammered and shit I've noticed So then that's getting Sent around about you And so it's just like Ah Kind of makes you not want to be Yeah yeah Hammered around people Well, yeah, not go out. Awesome. Yeah.

8:42Keyzie:I've been in a situation where someone has asked me if they could do a little video and stuff. Which is fine. I've gone, yeah, but then all their mates around them are taking videos. Oh, yeah. You know what I mean? And you're sort of going, oh.

8:55Mike Minogue:Well, at least that's ours. You thought it was just going to be a video between you and one partner. Yes. But then you've got all the guys standing around the bed and they're all videoing you as well. You know what I mean? Oh, that's different. That's different.

9:05Keyzie:You know, but I have a rule. Keep it above the waist, fellas. Right. You know, because I don't want my dude everywhere. Everywhere. But just on the drug thing, it was interesting because that only really happened to me once in Vietnam where I got offered drugs. But old Pugsan.

9:20Mike Minogue:Do not do it in Vietnam.

9:21Keyzie:Was telling me, yeah, whatever I was offered looked fucking. I was like, heroin. It must have been heroin. They've got harsh penalties over there. Yeah, so don't do heroin, okay, in Vietnam. Yes, in Vietnam. And Pugs was saying he had quite a lot of that. Of heroin? I guess because he looks like, you know, not that he was accepting it, but he got approached by with all his crazy tats and, you know, his wacky shirts and boat shirt. He was just so wacky.

9:48Mike Minogue:Yeah, and there's a lot of that too. Like while we were in Portugal, Amsterdam, all those places, there's constant people offering you. And you just don't know what the fuck it is. It's like, hey, man, have a test of this. It's like, cool, I'm just going to snort a random thing. Yeah, I got offered it in Las Vegas. How'd it go? With sugar. Yeah. So you did have some? It was sugar. I don't know.

10:08Keyzie:I don't know what you're talking about. Yeah, yeah.

10:11Mike Minogue:Good stuff, fellas. Good stuff, fellas. Naughty. Hey, naughty. Holy heck, that went fast, man. Time flies when you're banging on about stuff. Short week this week, fellas. Fucking magic round. I already told you this, Mogi, because we've seen each other today, but I woke up at 3 a.m. on Saturday, halfway between hungover and drunk, in the shittiest Airbnb bed, freezing cold, and I was just like, I don't know if I can go to magic round. But then I woke up four hours later to the sound of someone either taking a massive shit or throwing up in the toilet. And then I was like, I know that's right, I'll have my own room, it'll be fine.

10:44Mike Minogue:Yeah. But you know when you go through glimpses of life, maybe I should never drink ever again. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But then a few hours later you're sweet again.

10:50Keyzie:And there's nothing worse than the sort of two or three o 'clock wake up.

10:54Mike Minogue:Yeah.

10:55Keyzie:Where the sort of hangover has actually kicked in. Yeah. And you're like, oh, fuck. I had a few jars on Friday night with the missus there. Yes. and because I and it's I'm actually I think it's lucky that I have to be honest with you because I haven't drunk for so long but I've had those Albers those margaritas those things there which normally I they're not even alcohol you normally just drink them to keep you occupied before you start drinking yes and they normally do absolutely nothing I had three I was pissed yeah I had my first supper I was like whew these are strong whereas like when I'm drinking it's like it's water yeah so it was Like, Zara's like, are you all good?

11:37Are you going to be all good? You're like, yeah.

11:40Keyzie:Yeah, those RTDs, you know, particularly those VODI ones, you know, or the gin and tonic. Well, generally there's nothing in them. Yeah, and it's just fucking soda water and bullshit. Anyway, I had five. And it was a good time. Well, it's good. Good on you, mate.

11:57Mike Minogue:All right. Hey, listen to the Big Show, 4 to 7 weekdays. Hauraki.
