In short
The “OUTRO: You Simply MUST” segment wraps up the Hauraki Big Show with banter about health (sinusitis, doctor/ENT referral, possible surgery), medicinal marijuana, and post-Europe travel blues. It then pivots into travel recommendations, especially Japan, framed repeatedly as “you simply must.”

Notable examples
Richard Thurster (artist) reportedly benefited from sinus surgery; Paris is described as built after demolishing slums; Japan/South Korea are proposed next trips.

0:16Mike Minogue:Good stuff fellas. That's the one man. You sound way better today man. Weirdly this afternoon I took a couple of flu tablets which seems to have dried me out a bit. I've got a doctor's appointment this evening, 6.30, just a phoner. Yeah, right. All I need are just some antibiotics, just feed them to me and I'll get on those bastards and then we'll be off to the races. You know what I mean? Yeah, right. Because now you know what it is, right? It's easy. It's like whack it in there. And then the other thing is getting a referral to an ENT, ear, nose, throat specialist, that one there is. Just to get an operation.
0:48Mike Minogue:Oh, to stop it. Yeah, because otherwise it'll just keep happening. Like I can't keep on being fucking crook four times a year for a month at a time. And that was cool. I'll be honest.
0:56Keyzie:That's a big operation, man. Ha ha! That's a big... They're going to need a team of surgeons. Yeah, they'll be like eight surgeons, you're hacking away. You'll be a guy with a bobcat. I just want you to know, if I come back and my nose looks absolutely perfect and has weirdly changed its shape somewhere, it's as a result of my sinusitis. It was just something that they had to do. They had to be a small in it slightly. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And if my fucking face is pulled back a little bit and I look like 20 years younger or anything like that, it's because of my, you know. Yeah, it's because of the sinusitis.
1:26Yeah, the sinusitis.
1:27Mike Minogue:So what are they chopping out, your sinuses? I don't know how it works. I made a mind Richard Thurster, the artist. Yes. Yes. He had it done, and he said it made a world of difference. I've been mates with him for years. I didn't even know he'd had it done, but he said he would have exactly the same thing where he got it and then just he would get crook like fucking heaps.
1:44Keyzie:For some reason, I think the procedure would be something along the way. I'm seeing burning. Oh, good. You know, like I'm seeing like they'll - A finger in the anus as well? Well, maybe a finger in the anus, but like a burning, a closing off. Yeah, I feel like a cutting out. Yeah, I feel like Jase hasn't watched a surgery since the 1800s. Yeah, it feels like, funnily enough, burning. You think there'll be a whole bunch of herbs involved and I'll be dunked in holy water or something. Weirdly enough, today, just on that front, I was reflecting quite a lot on medicinal marijuana. I don't know why it came into my head.
2:19Keyzie:Sure. And I was thinking, God, maybe I should just get some medicinal marijuana just for medicinal purposes. You probably could get prescribed some. Oh, you absolutely could. There's a listening of errors that you could blame so that you could get yourself your hands on medicinal marijuana.
2:38Mike Minogue:And then we'll go into the batch and you can just.
2:40Keyzie:Yeah, well, I could come into work every day and have a bucky bong and just be like, it's medicinal.
2:47Mike Minogue:Why don't you?
2:49Keyzie:Well, you can do it. I've told you how to do it. Yeah, you have. But the reason I bring it up, because it was just a random thought just came into my head. Get into the medicinal marijuana. Yeah, treat yourself.
3:00Mike Minogue:Do random things come into your head all the time?
3:01Keyzie:Yes. Most of which comes out. Go on, Keezy. What do you mean go on, Keezy? You've got something locked in right there. I don't have anything. You're ready to fire it off.
3:13Mike Minogue:No, man, it's all G.
3:15Keyzie:How was your day, Keezy?
3:17Mike Minogue:It was actually really good. How'd you sleep, man? I've written a big to-do list. To-do. Falling asleep at 8.30. Yeah. Have dinner, sit on the couch, put on, and you won't believe this, grand designs and start falling asleep. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, usually I'm wired. Yeah, you're fucking absolutely physical. Loving that shit. Like you're seeing on there, yeah. And, yeah, falling asleep at 8.30 and then waking up at 5. Yeah. I was up at 4 o 'clock this morning. Yeah. I was on there from 3.30. I was like, oh, I fucking get up. And then I had about a half an hour nap. I just feel like shit. but I don't know whether that's jet lag or a combination of that and big crook.
3:49Mike Minogue:I'd say it's that second one. Bit of both. But when you're making an omelette at 5.30 a.m.
3:54Keyzie:You just spend a two-week European holiday. Well, the thing about it is, man, you just sort of have a bit of depression because you've just been in Europe. You know what it's like, easy man. Oh, exactly. It's just so depressing coming back to this hellhole. Three weeks for you, actually. Already I'm over, I need a holiday.
4:06Mike Minogue:Three weeks. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show Podcast The thing is, Jase, like coming back from Europe isn't like coming back from Vietnam. It's completely different.
4:22Keyzie:I'm sure. I'm sure it is. You wouldn't even begin to understand. If you ever get the chance to come back from Europe, Jase, you certainly must. Yes. You certainly must come back from Europe and be depressed. Yeah, yeah. But the great thing is I've come back and I get to pack the house and move this weekend. So that's a good relaxing little week I've got going for myself there.
4:43Mike Minogue:I fucking love the way you are just like constantly busy. Yeah, I'm reminded of too. That fucking cracks me up, man. Yeah, creating rods for my back, left, right and centre. When I got back, do you know what I did? Started jacking it. Yeah. Sorry, you jumped in there.
4:59Keyzie:Well, you had to back out your 72-hour steamer for a start. Yeah, and I did that by jacking it.
5:04Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah, for a start. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I started being like, where am I going on holiday next? Oh, you're fizzing, man. And you got the bug, the travel bug. You got itchy feet, man. And itchy balls. And ants in my pants.
5:17Keyzie:Chatting to my girls today, same thing, man. They're all on the same wavelength. They're like, fuck this shit, man. And they've already travelled many, many places, but they're like, fuck this work crap. Let's just go travelling. Have they been to Europe? Yes, they have been to Europe. Yeah. Well, that's the thing. They get it. They do. I simply must get there at some stage, eh? I simply must.
5:39Mike Minogue:The funny thing about Europe though Like a lot of the places you go And you won't get this Jase And you won't get this Jase Fuck it feels like you're just at Disneyland Yeah Like you know what I mean You go I don't know Did you go to like the main really touristy small And you just get there And everyone's a tourist No one's a local And it's just like you're on a fucking ride at Disneyland Yeah Looking at shit that isn't really real And it's just I felt like that a lot Yeah Whereas Vietnam You'd feel like you're in amongst the Yeah Well I mean
6:07Keyzie:Case in point Did anyone in Europe offer you a blowjob in a market? Not in a market, but in a brothel. Oh, in the brothel? Right. You see, somewhere like Spain very much appeals to me. I think they were wandering the cobbled streets. Yes. But you said there's no cobbles. There are cobbles. Very cobbled. You know, all that sort of stuff appeals to me greatly. Sun. Yes. Beautiful beaches, that kind of thing. You know, sort of ancient artefacts. Okay. It's not artefacts. It's the sheer... It's just the architecture. The architecture. Yeah, well, that's right. The cathedrals, the churches. I wouldn't be so much into them as to the everyday living of the people.
6:48Keyzie:Yes, I agree. I agree. How they live. It was... And weirdly, you get interested in the architecture. So you've got all those little villages or small towns, whatever they are, and you think to yourself, well, when they built these, they must have had so much fucking room. Why are these streets so narrow? Yes They're like the width of a car For horses For a horse and cats But they were built so close together Because it's so hot They wanted those buildings close to each other So they cast shadows all over each other So all of the streets are in shadow the whole time See that's interesting man That sort of shit Yeah that's awesome That's great Yeah it was fucking
7:27Mike Minogue:Well it's like in Paris And Jase you've never been there May we? Nah
7:35Keyzie:Sorry hang on I'm very close to a number of people that have been there and they fucking hated Paris.
7:40Mike Minogue:Yes, but as I said, it depends how much money you have. Yeah, that's right. When you've got the ditch money and Sean Johnson's league lounge money. Well, you've got fucking league lounge money coming in, man, like I do. No, but like if you're there when you're backpacking, you will fucking hate it. But if you're there when you're double income, no kids like my wife and I and you can go to nice restaurants and not, you know. Yeah, but you were still spewing, weren't you? Oh, if it was fucking spewing.
8:05Keyzie:when you looked at the price you were like fucking bullshit
8:08Mike Minogue:but it was amazing but the thing that was interesting about Paris is like you're walking down this one long street at one end yes one end's the Arc de Triomphe at the other end is a fucking big Egyptian obelisk and like a big square and being like wow that's amazing and then you find out that in the 1800s they just demolished a whole lot of slums and just built this shit and kicked everyone out of their houses and just really interesting things like that it's just like it's really interesting yeah it is it's nice to kick people out of their houses I think so the poor the homeless Yes, especially them.
8:35Keyzie:The needy, the filth, as we like to call them. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You get it, man. Oh, well, I simply must go. Where are you going next? You've got a holiday coming up. Well, this is what we're talking about because I've said South Korea. Yeah. I'm interested. And only because my girls have never been there. I've never been there, obviously, but we're trying to find places they've never been. But then my wife's just come back from Melbourne and she said they're quite happy to go back to Japan. Oh, Japan would be good. Yes.
9:05Mike Minogue:I fucking... Japan would be the one. You should talk to Pug-san about Japan. Oh, you totally... Yeah. Because he's built an entire personality around it. Look, here we go.
9:13Keyzie:Oh, here he's going to jump in.
9:14Mike Minogue:Hey, Pugs. Hi, guys. I love this.
9:16Keyzie:I love this. Studio B shit. Oh, I can't hear you.
9:19Mike Minogue:What was that? I love the Studio B shit. Thanks, man. Jase, all I can say about it is that you simply must go to Japan. Well Cracking himself up
9:33Keyzie:It's good shit Jase Do you think you simply will? Oh we'll definitely go Sometime next year Yeah Because you've got no holidays This year Yeah I know It's been five months I worked out Since the holiday Yeah you blew that Didn't you

9:53Mike Minogue:Do you reckon you'd go Somewhere where Nah don't worry about it But Japan's pretty pricey, but not crazy. But that's okay. Amazing, though, yeah.
10:04Keyzie:I think I'll leave Europe to me and my wife. It's a good idea. Your Spains, your Croatians, your Portugals. Yeah, yeah. We'll do that together. Greece. Yes, very much so. Greece would be next for me.
10:16Mike Minogue:Yeah, the same for me and Lewis. But if you do Spain, Portugal, Greece, they're actually super affordable countries. Yes, okay. You know what I mean? Spain, Portugal, Greece. You can fucking live really well. Just write that down, Jace. It's Russia. Russia. Simply must. Russia. I actually...
10:32Keyzie:Anywhere in the Baltic. One of my dearest friends, a good friend of his, he ended up doing tourist buses in Russia, driving tourists around Russia. It was fascinating chatting to him. He loved Russia. What did he say? Well, he just said it was just an amazing place. I thought he would have said, you simply must. Oh, you simply must go. Yes, of course. I love how this is becoming a thing.
11:00Mike Minogue:And it's always, Jase, you simply must. Good stuff, guys. I'll tell you what. Yeah, man. Hey, sushi. Yeah, it's 3.29. Go. You should probably. Go on, Mike. You won't regret it.
