0:15Keyzie:Oh, g'day, fellas. Bang, bang. Hello. Can I just say, I came in here today and old Hoody J is just ripping into the chips. Honestly, man. Yeah, man. Well, what do you expect me to do? There are three open packets of chips. What am I just going to stare at them? It's true, man. I sort of hoped, I guess, that you might have spent a bit of the time off that you've had maybe just looking in the mirror a little bit, self-improvement. Definitely have been doing that. Boy, I like what I see.

0:45Mike Minogue:The thing is, though, is Jason actually ate that many chips because they're not stolen. They were there ready to go. I know, yeah, that's the thing. That's the fucking really weird thing. It's like, oh, what free chips? It's like a woman that's interested in you. You're like, what's wrong with them? Yeah, red flag. I'm so over that. What, women? Just being into me. That's a shame because there's so many.

1:06Keyzie:Well, that's what I mean. That's what I mean. You know, it's just like, oh, fucking hell. It was really interesting, actually, just in terms of talking about coming in today, Mogi. Yeah, and you're just thinking, oh, I can't be fucked. No, no. I came in today. The boss was here. A few other people were here. Nobody turned around and said hello. Thank you. Yeah. I was like, oh, hello, everybody. Standard. and then Pugs on went, oh, g'day, Hoity J. And here's the other thing. So Pugs said hello to me. Still no one said hello to me. No one went, oh, Hoity J's here. G'day, Hoity J. You were anticipating the haka tears.

1:42I was. A few lays to be put around your neck there. Yeah, no one cares about you. But on the bright side, nobody cares about anyone. That's true.

1:49Mike Minogue:Hey, Jase, do you think that has anything to do with the fact that you still have your headphones on for 10 minutes after you walk in the door? No. Didn't think so. You do that. And then he would just look at you and just do this. Yeah, right. Dance. Or dance.

2:02Keyzie:But I was shocked.

2:03Mike Minogue:Yeah. Oh, yeah, this is an audio medium. I was dancing.

2:09Keyzie:Because I came in mid last week to drop some stuff off to Pugson. Oh, yeah. Everyone was all over me like a rash. Couldn't wait to see the baggie. They were like, oh, you're here, you're here. And then I was like, oh, no, I'm not. I'm just popping in. Yeah, right. But today when I'm here properly, no one cares. No, no one cares. I think it's Kate. It's probably because the goat's on, you know? Everyone's frothing about the goat. Yeah, maybe. I was thinking another idea we could do for a countdown. See what you think about this, Keith. The sheep. Huh? We just keep doing different animals. Oh, animals.

2:42I thought we could call it the final countdown. And we have that Europe song, the final countdown. And we do that every year. Right. It's the final countdown.

2:53Mike Minogue:And it's back again. We do it every year. And number one every year is that song Yes That's right That would be great That would be fucking funny I'm in for that I'm in It's the final People would be so into it Song number two is always song two by Blur Yeah that's good And literally the whole thing is the same every time Yeah three doors down Three doors down

3:13Keyzie:Yeah yeah yeah Yeah well the good thing is Is that people won't remember it You know what I mean No no no no They won't remember the playlist from a year ago No way no chance I mean I do man Yeah, but you're a kind of weird dwee. Hey, Hoity J, the reason, and you'll know this, Hoity J, but what I'm saying is, Keezy, those chips that are out there today, they are from Hoity J and I, for you and Pugs Island, to thank you guys for holding it down last week.

3:38Mike Minogue:Oh, were they? Yeah. Thank you. Thanks, guys, for holding it down. So you got a few bags of snack changi there. Yeah, thank you. No, you're welcome, man. Where'd you get them from? It's what we do. Yeah, right, okay. It's what we do is we say thank you. Yeah. Do you guys feel refreshed? Yeah, I do. Yeah, it was bloody good. I had a ripper. Yep. Bloody good. Well, that's good. What was the weather like down south? Because you're in Queenstown? I was in Queenstown. I don't know if you know, there's cold down there, Keezy. Jesus, it's chilly. With all the skiing and tetra going on. It was beautiful.

4:07We had one shitter and then the rest were bluebirds. Yeah, she's a stunner, eh? It's fucking amazing down there. Yeah, it's pretty good. Beautiful. It's pretty good.

4:16Mike Minogue:The Horaki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Horaki. Now that's good listening. and it's live. What are you listening to there? Oh, me? Oh, sorry. I was listening to the Radio Hauraki Big Show. Right. Four to seven weekdays. Yeah, that's quite specific. And iHeartRadio. Wado. Cheers. The Hauraki Big Show Podcast. We, you know, we learned a few lessons. Make some bookings is a big one. book restaurants restaurants anything you want to do book it yeah but we always sort of landed on our feet but next time we'll sort of think ahead a little bit I really wanted to do that thing on the lake the sauna and cold plunge but that was all booked out but all yeah absolutely great I didn't drink every day which was nice my daughter and my wife learned how to ski which was really good yes yeah it was great did you snowboard great break no I didn't well the first day I went up with her I went up and fuck it's expensive.

5:25Jesus Christ. It costs a bomb. Yeah. I can't quite remember, but something around$350. Once you do the pass, and she was getting lessons, and then you've got to get all the gears, and they don't rent gloves, so you've got to buy gloves. So it's$350,$400 a day.

5:44Mike Minogue:Per person? Per person. Because that's fucked up. And so I was just like, well, I'm not going to rent at all and then have my daughter be interested in it for one minute, be fuming, and then not want to do it. And then I've also paid for all of my gear, and I'm cooked. So I just sat in the cafeteria, and she was all good. She absolutely loved it. Oh, that's good. And then after that, we went out for lunch at Airburn, maybe. Went for a mate with a mate. Oh, how cool is it out there? Oh, it's the whole place. I think Airborne, maybe that was yesterday, and we went to another place. But anyway, that was great.

6:17But I was with a mate who snowboarded for decades. He was like, oh, yeah, no, it's been good. I've just got down there. I just finally bought myself some pants with huge padding in the ass. Why do you need that? He's like, well, you're just always falling on your ass. I was like, you've been doing it for years. Yeah, no, you're still falling on your ass. I was like, oh, fuck that. You know what I mean? I'm not going to. So my daughter and wife went up another day. Yes. And I'm just going to learn how to ski. I think skiing is the way to go because when you fall off a snowboard, you land on your ass and I'm 50 and my back's fucked.

6:47Yeah, yeah. And fuck that. Whereas you can just pizza your way down. Like a pizza, pizza, pizza. You know, your wife's getting the ick. Yeah. Old Moggy's pizza. Yeah, I'm pizzaing up the storm. But they were both really good. I'm just absolutely, you know, feeding the bird there, whatever it's called. Forgot the old thing he was on. Yeah, well, this is going to be on YouTube.

7:08Keyzie:The only thing I find about skiing and all that. It's called a feeding eagle. Yes. is being on the snow is very cold. You're joking. It's freezing. What? And I'm not, as you can imagine, we talked about this, I think, at your place for your dinner. I have no capacity for skiing, ice skating, rollerblading, any of that stuff, because my ankles are fucked. They're rigid. And I'm unco. You can toboggan. but, oh yeah, toboggan maybe. But I've never, yeah, the ice has been hugely appealing to me. No, but what it's opened up is a whole new thing that you can do with the family and I think for me and the wife as well because we never went skiing or anything when we were kids and I think it's a great thing to be able to do, for a kid to be able to do, to go around the world and be able to ski.

8:08Mike Minogue:I think it's pretty cool. Do you reckon you go to Snow Planet? That's exactly what I'm going to do next time, Keezy. I'm going to do like three days at Snow Planet. It's really cheap. It's like 150. Yeah, right. For a day of lessons and all the gear and do that. And then by the time you turn up on the mountain, you know what you're doing. Yes. I think it's the way to go. So anyway, we'll find out. It'll probably be an absolute disaster. I'll never go again. Do you like toboggan?

8:28Keyzie:I'm not going to reply to that, Keezy.

8:31Mike Minogue:Literally all I've got is toboggan-deez-nut. It sounds like it should work. It should work. There's something not right there. Yeah, it doesn't work. And what did you do, holly jizzinator?

8:39Keyzie:Oh, what did we do?

8:41Mike Minogue:Bit of this, bit of that, Mogi.

8:42Keyzie:We went up north to a place called Point Wells, which coincidentally, well, 30 years ago I spent a lot of time at because my ex-girlfriend's father used to have a batch there. Have you ever been told about this place? Yes, you have. Yeah, yeah, you've had some adventures up there. Yes, certainly. And it's really interesting going back, you know. And you took your wife back there? 30 years later, yeah. Wow. Wow. It's a beautiful spot. A little bit of a walk down memory lane, was it? It was a little bit, actually. And this is the beach?

9:19Keyzie:The estuary, actually. But anyway, the first, well, as was said in the chat, it was like, oh, there's a big weather system coming, just as we're heading up there.

9:30Mike Minogue:As you're heading up there, yeah. It was the first day of me and Pugs doing the show together, and I looked at the weather forecast. It was just like, weather bomb approaches northward. Yeah. Residents told to stay in doors.

9:41Keyzie:And it was great because it was a beautiful spot. It was really lovely. And I arrived there and it was all good. There wasn't any rain or anything. Caught a fish. First cast. Oh, wow. Just off the grass there. First cast, fellas, with my little lure. What kind of fish? Kawaii. And I ate it. And we ate it. Can I ask when the last time is that you caught a fish? I can't even remember. No, never. Not as long as I've known you. I can't even remember.

10:09Mike Minogue:The last time we caught a fish was when we were out doing that show on that boat. Oh, yeah. Oh, yes. And then the rod snapped. And your reel fell in the ocean. And then your pants fell down.

10:20Keyzie:Jeez, I can't remember any of those things, Phil.

10:22Mike Minogue:Nah, all those things definitely happen. Especially the last thing.

10:25Keyzie:But it was great. And then the storm arrived that night, which was kind of nice. Yeah. The next day was lovely. Really calm. Yeah. Like everything had blown through. The next day after that was a bit moody. We just explored Lee, Omaha, Matakana, markets. It's nice, isn't it? It's beautiful, man. This morning was beautiful down there in Queenstown. Were you still down there this morning? Wow. That was beautiful in Auckland. And frozen, because I stayed at the Millbrook Resort, and they've got lots of little lakes and things around there. It's a bastard central down there. Oh, yeah. It is. But a little frozen over rivers and stuff.

11:03Yeah, nice. Frozen over lake. I've never come across that before. and because I've been a townie for so long, they had a proper, proper frost this morning and it sparkles like diamonds. Yes. It's fucking amazing. It is. Absolutely amazing, but I haven't seen a proper frost since I was a kid. In me hometown of Rotorua,

11:23Keyzie:we used to have a fish pond and everything and that used to freeze over like two inches thick. Right. It's crazy stuff. I was talking to the mayor of Rotorua about that and he was saying that that's bullshit. Was he? It's actually a woman But that's why You know places like Toupo Yeah Toupo Thank you This guy It's fucking cold It is cold I always find that place cold Oh Jesus Rotorua Freezing I mean I mean Your joint

11:52Mike Minogue:Tauranga
