In short
The hosts riff on golf frustration—especially bad chipping—then pivot to reviewing the Oasis documentary “Oasis: The IMAX Experience” (reunion/tour footage), plus radio-show banter.
Guests
No formal guests; it’s a roundtable of hosts: Jase (an older, strong golfer who self-critiques while chipping), Phil (golfing partner, complains about a “shitter” round), and “Hoity J”/“Moggy”/“Kesey” (the chipping-focused speaker and friend mentioned in the golf segment).
Key claims
Jase’s chip “brain” turns negative (“I fucking suck it”) and he refuses lessons, preferring YouTube; relaxing/positive focus (or “not giving a fuck”) can improve chips.
Notable examples
golf: four chips going ~5 metres; last two holes bogey-bogey after giving up. Oasis: brothers’ reunion documentary avoids direct sibling conflict talk; audiences skew ~30; Noel cries when seeing fathers/sons, hides it by facing away.

On Radio Hodaki. Backbone. Hello. Hello. Oh, g'day fellas. Have we started? Oh, right. I wasn't even paying attention. G'day fellas.
0:25Mike Minogue:Unbelievable. Jase, man, I played the official intro and everything.
0:29Keyzie:I thought it was literally just something playing on the radio. And I was like, all right. You ready to go, mate?
0:33Mike Minogue:Yeah. Yeah, yeah. But you were trawling bullsies.
0:36Keyzie:Well, yes. That's how I get into the show. Phil. Bam. Bam. Bam. Did you guys play golf today? Sort of. I don't want to talk about it, man. Another shitter. A couple of fucking losers. Fucking terrible. Yeah, yeah. It's over for you both. I'm done with golf. I'm out.
0:53Mike Minogue:Yeah, good. The thing with Jase is he's a very good golfer. What's happening at the moment? Is he very good? Yeah, he's a real... Like, for someone like me, when Jace is playing well, I think, man, I wish I could play that well. Yeah, right. Like, and we're talking low 90s. Yeah, exactly. Which is great. So about 20 over par. But in my opinion, that is very good for someone who's not playing five times a week. And is 80. And is 80 years of age. Oh, you're 80 now. You're 80 when it suits you. You're 80 when it suits you or you're 39. But his thing now is whenever he goes to chip, his brain is full of, I fucking suck it.
1:27Mike Minogue:there's a fucking chip. Here we go. This is going to be a fucking... So then do you get somebody who's not as good at giving you advice? No. He's not giving you advice. All I say to him is think positive thoughts. That's not how Jase operates at his best. Jase operates at his best by calling himself a piece of shit.
1:44Keyzie:You play a nice tee shot, Mogi. Here we fucking go. What's the point? You're just off the green. What do you shoot? Seven. Yeah. Four chips. Four chips that go five metres in total.
1:58Mike Minogue:It's because he's too tense, Moggy. How do we relax him with the chipping, man? Because I said think about hot pot. Just go in the driving range. You're a bum. Yeah, well, I am a bum. Or go and get some lessons.
2:09Keyzie:Yeah, well, see. You won't do that. No, I'm going to go on YouTube. That would be like going to a doctor, you know, to fix a problem. All right, how about this? But instead you prefer the moan. It started off okay and then fell apart.
2:20Mike Minogue:How about this, all right? Because Jase won't go and get lessons. No. And he's even said, I'm not going to play anymore until I've fixed my chip. So I'm like, cool, so now I've got no playing partner. Yeah, it's over. So how about this? If anyone listening lives in Auckland and is a golf coach and wants to help Hoity J with his chipping, message me on Instagram.
2:38Keyzie:What do you want help with, Kesey?
2:40Mike Minogue:I don't care because I'm happy just that you've seen me play. I'm shit at everything.
2:45Keyzie:No, man, come on.
2:46Mike Minogue:But if my playing partner is not going to play with me anymore.
2:49Keyzie:No play. I was just fuming. It gets to you. It's fucking annoying, man. It's an exasperating game. Everything else is going good in just one facet, but you have to play that shot in every hole. Why don't you just hit it into the hole on the first one? Yeah, we could do that.
3:08Mike Minogue:Nah, I think eight hits is good. At least everything else in the world disappears, I'd imagine. You're only thinking about this part of your life that sucks, not all of the other areas of your life that suck. Oh, no, they infiltrate as well. You know what I mean? Yeah. This is why I'm in a miserable marriage. But if you let something nice come into your head as you're about to chip and concentrate on that, I reckon it would make a difference. I think a clear mind, an entirely clear mind.
3:38Keyzie:You know what I think works is to just not give a fuck. But we don't know how to do that. And I start the last two holes we played, bogey, bogey, solid. That's good. And it's because I was like, oh, well, fuck this. And then it pissed down with rain, so we cut out. Yeah, we were wet. We got all soggy. I was sopping wet. And then we had to walk up this massive fucking hill in the rain. Yeah. Hoody J took a while.
4:04Mike Minogue:By the time I was at my car.
4:05Keyzie:He was way ahead.
4:07Mike Minogue:I put my clubs away, put my trundler away, was hopping in my car just as Hoody J came up to the car park.
4:12Keyzie:Oh, God. Huffing and wheezing.
4:15Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Now that's good listening And it's live What are you listening to there? Oh me? Oh sorry I was listening to the Radio Hauraki Big Show Right Four to seven weekdays Yeah that's quite specific And iHeartRadio
4:40Keyzie:What oh? Cheers
4:42Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show Podcast
4:44Keyzie:How was your day anyway mate? Better than yours Yeah well you know
4:48Mike Minogue:I had a pretty good day. It's still good. Shit, golf's better than working. No, it was good. It was a bit of a rough start. I won't get into it. It was a bit of a rough start. Yes. And then I went and saw the Oasis doco with my wife. Nice. Which was good. Like this morning? Midday it was. Wow. Nice. It's the first screening of it. It came out today. Oh, wow. It was at IMAX of their tour, you know, them getting back together and the tour all around the place and all that carry on. Was there much live footage for IMAX? There's a lot of live footage. A lot. A lot. She's pretty good.
5:23Keyzie:She's pretty good. Yeah, man. She's pretty good. So are they going to make billions out of that as well? Because they're rich. Yeah, they are. They are rich. They're rich anyway, though, to be fair. But it is interesting, but it's not as good as I was hoping it was going to be. Right, okay. Which is a shame. Yeah. Because what I like is, well, I like all of it, but I like the brothers becoming brothers again. I like the reunion. I like the burying the hatchet. Yes. I like sorting things out. But I want to see some hatchet first. That's something in me, I think, from childhood. Yes. So I really love that stuff, but they didn't really go into it.
6:01Yeah. Except to say really at the end that they just get along really well and the things that used to bother each other about each other are just gone and we managed to get there without having any conversation about it at all. Yes. So because they're so completely non-communicative, even after 15 years of not talking to each other at all, living in London, having kids that are exactly the same age, never met each other.
6:23Keyzie:Yeah. They got back together to do this, and they still didn't talk to each other about any of that shit. No. Which I find really fucking annoying. Yes. Because I wanted to see them sit down and talk about how they'd fucked it up and they love each other. That's all I wanted. Yeah, man. You know? Yeah, I get it. But they did it in their own way. Yes.
6:41Mike Minogue:I mean, at the end of the day, a certain amount of money will make you do that. Will make you do... get back together, forget everything. You know what I mean? Like a certain amount of... Yeah, I mean it's... Like a hundred bucks for me. Yeah, I don't think they... They're really good mates now. They made that clear. They said they're more in contact now than they've ever been in their lives. Well, that's great. They text each other stupid videos like YouTube, idiot. Yes. So they're doing all that stuff. So they are really good mates. So it's not about the money because they're fucking loaded.
7:12They're absolutely loaded. Yeah. But to be able to go back, and even it was interesting because Noel Gallagher at the start of that very first gig in Cardiff, and they've played those sort of arenas their whole lives.
7:23Keyzie:Yeah. But he said the first 40 minutes he was just fucked, just completely blown away by the reaction, and he wanted to stop it and go out the back and just have five minutes and go, okay, this is what it is. Okay, I'm ready to go on stage. Yeah. But he was out there like, holy fuck. Just freaking out. He said he was completely freaking out. He can't remember any of the first 40 minutes. He can't remember at all. Noel was the songwriter. The songwriter. Liam, who's the singer, he goes, yeah, he looked really nervous. You know, he looked really nervous. I'm not being arrogant or nothing, but I didn't give a fuck.
7:58Yeah. Well, that's him though, right? He doesn't give a fuck. Absolutely brilliant. So it is a brilliant documentary, but I just didn't get the –
8:04Keyzie:it didn't scratch the itch I had. Yeah, yeah. And that's totally understandable because, you know, the expectations would have been huge. And so that's a fucking lot to go back on. If you haven't done it for a while and have these huge crowds going, yes, you'd be like, fuck. Yeah, it is. And I think it's good. Even if you don't like Aways, I think it's a great thing to watch because it does speak to that sort of unity that people are seeking in this day and age. But they're saying that most of the audience now, they're 30. Yes. Most of the audience is 30. 30. And so they weren't even born. I thought it would be older, yeah.
8:41They were about 30 or younger. Yeah, right. So looking out and there's all these people that weren't even born when this music was out. Yeah. And yet those are all the people that are out there. Yeah. So really weird. And Noel was saying that he spent a lot of his time with his back to the audience because he'd be looking out and there'd be fathers and sons hugging and that and he'd just burst into tears and he'd just have to look at the back of the stage because you can't let another man see you cry. That's one of the rules, Gizzy. Fuck, man. I don't know if you know that, man. Toast, man. That's one of the rules.
9:07No one's ever seen me cry, man. Fucking oats Yeah but it's good But in fact And weirdly enough But the sound was really good But I think it might be better On a smaller television Yeah right okay Which wouldn't be the first time Somebody said that about an IMAX Oh man It's fucking massive They're fucking huge It's fucking
9:23Keyzie:It does my head in It is overkill for me
9:27Mike Minogue:Something between A big cinema and IMAX Just a bit smidgen smaller Although I must admit For the Odyssey I thoroughly enjoyed it It was just a bit muddy Some of the audio I couldn't understand What they were saying Yeah
9:37Keyzie:It's so loud that I can't even fucking hear it. I can't hear it. I can't hear it. Anyway, that's out now. Treat yourselves. I absolutely think get along whether you like them or not. Yeah, it was good. It was real good. I saw Jase cry today. About his golf. Yeah. Yeah, man. I don't worry about crying in front of the fellas. The last time I saw you cry, Jase, was on Monday. Yeah. and Under the Bridge from the Red Hot Chili Peoples was playing and Joseph was just standing there sort of staring off into the middle distance and just one tear rolling down his cheek. Yeah, that's right. Because those lyrics, man, they'll get you.

10:17Oh, they do. They do, man.
10:19Mike Minogue:Oh, no, it wasn't Under the Bridge. It was Danny California. Oh, I thought it was Roller Coaster of Love. Oh, Roller Coaster of Love. That's what it was. I thought it was I'm a Little Pee, One Hot Minute. Yeah.
10:29Keyzie:Well, it could have been any of those. Could have been any of those, fellas. Kedis gets it. Yeah. Can I say that? Yeah, man. Hey, big show.
10:37Mike Minogue:Full seven weekdays. Hodaki, bye.
