0:15Keyzie:Oh, g'day fellas.
0:17Mike Minogue:Backbone. Hello. Yeah, man. Good stuff. Good weekend, Hoyte J. Yeah, not bad, thanks. You're good, Hoyte J. You seem like you're a bit down in the dumps, man.
0:25Keyzie:No, no, I'm tickety-boo. The last 20 minutes just exhausted me.
0:30Mike Minogue:Is that a new jersey, man?
0:31Keyzie:Yeah, it is. Thanks for noticing.
0:33Mike Minogue:What was exhaustive? Was it the brainstorm or the show meeting? That wasn't a brainstorm.
0:38Keyzie:It wasn't a brainstorm, Kesey.
0:40Mike Minogue:I mean, well, it kind of was for the video idea we were shooting on Wednesday and every idea involved Jase looking silly.
0:45Keyzie:Yeah, well, I mean, that's par for the course. You know, but I'm happy to look silly alongside him. That's par for the course.
0:50Mike Minogue:He just does it so well. He does.
0:51Keyzie:It's just, you know, those types of condos. Absolutely critical to the success of this radio show, Jase Yeah, totally, man I tend to go into a deep thug
1:06Mike Minogue:You went into a thug No, a thug I was going to say
1:11Keyzie:I was feeling good up to that point You were, weren't you? Yeah, then I just went
1:17Mike Minogue:Yesterday
1:18Keyzie:Monday
1:20Mike Minogue:Yesterday Yesterday Yesterday Yesterday So I went to bed at 5 In the morning? Sunday morning So the All Blacks was on And I was like None of it was going into my brain And I was just like Why the fuck am I still up? And so I went to bed Took ages to go to sleep Then woke up at like 7 And then at lunchtime I was home And I'd had a shower And Lucy My wife had made me lunch And I was just sitting on the couch And I'd made a big coffee And I said to her I'm going to stay up And just go to bed early I had one mouthful of coffee And was like I can't do it I tipped the coffee out Went to bed for 5 hours Yeah.
1:52Mike Minogue:It was fucked. I've never napped for that long. It was fucked up. That's not a nap. That's a sleep case. That's a full-blown sleep. You had an hour of sleep the night before, so you didn't have the sleep. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. So that's like, yeah. Because what time did you start drinking the day before? I was drinking a zero-alcohol beer while driving out to my mate's house out south at 11.30am. There you go. Yeah, yeah. There you go. Jeez, that's a long time to be drinking. That is a long night. That is a big shift. Jeez, you must have had a few coffees in there as well. That's a big shift. A lot of coffee, Smoky.
2:23Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, yeah. That'll do it.
2:26Keyzie:Boy, oh boy, oh boy. What the hell are you doing?
2:28Mike Minogue:I don't know what you're insinuating, but I take umbrage.
2:33Keyzie:You're going to hit the fan tomorrow. Do you reckon? Yeah, tomorrow on Wednesday. Is this me not hitting the fan? No.
2:39Mike Minogue:Because it feels like it is?
2:40Keyzie:No, not at all.
2:42Mike Minogue:I just – The next – it's usually two days after. How far away is hot pot from here? How far, like physically? To walk it? 500 metres? Oh, 10-minute walk? 10-minute walk. Down the hill? Yeah, man. I just did that walk. Yes. From Hot Pot to here. Oh, yes. And it felt like I was climbing fucking Everest. I'm so full of Hot Pot right now and regret that I'm just like, the walk felt like it was taking forever. Yeah. You should have got on a scooter, man. Thought about it. Yeah. Then I was like, I don't want to look like Mogi when he's hungry. Oh, it was you when you were drunk, wasn't it? Oh, drunk, yeah.
3:20It's all cool. Run along. Crash it. Crash it, drop all your shit everywhere. Yes. Good times. How was your Father's Day, jizz?
3:28Keyzie:It was good, thanks. I had to wait for my daughter to get up.
3:34Mike Minogue:What time did she get up? 11.
3:35Keyzie:Well, that was fine because my wife and I went out and had breakfast, as we do on a Sunday.
3:40Mike Minogue:Yeah. Were there birds in the cafe?
3:41Keyzie:Yes, there were. Fuck. A couple of pigeons. I had a very nice ham and cheese croissant. coffee and we get one of their juices there, which is great. And then got home and there were prezzies on the table for me. Oh, really? Yeah. What do you get? Do you like getting a present, do you? I don't normally expect a present on Father's Day, not these days. No, no. But I think all my daughters contributed. Right. Yes. Can you tell us? Yeah, yeah. I was going to do it on the show when we chatted. Oh, yeah, yeah. Fair enough. Okay. Yeah, yeah. You're not going to, okay. I can do it now. You're reserved to tell the truth here and lies on the show.
4:18So if it's going to be the truth on the show, I'm happy with that. Yeah, well, I mean. That is a complete change to the structure of what we do here.
4:23Mike Minogue:If he comes on the show and says, oh, a dilly or something, then it's like, what?
4:26Keyzie:Yeah, my daughter's bought me a dilly.
4:30Mike Minogue:Come on, man.
4:31Keyzie:Come on. But, yeah, good weekend. How was the card? That was not. It is very funny, the card. Is it? The Father's Day card. Because it was written by my youngest daughter, and she said, we love you so much, we lucked out getting you as a dad. Yes. And I went, isn't lucked out bad luck? No, no. But it's actually different in different cultures. In America, lucked out means really good luck. And in European, you've run out of luck. I used to wonder about that, but I've come to understand it to be it's good luck. Yes. And you would hope. You would hope so. In this instance, it was, yeah. It just made me laugh.
5:21Mike Minogue:I mean, it feels weird that they could have said, like, we hit the jackpot. Yeah, exactly. But they chose that sort of ambiguous. We've got a gambling addiction. The Horaki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Horaki. Ha, ha, ha. Now that's good listening. And it's live. What are you listening to there? Oh, me? Oh, sorry. I was listening to the Radio Horaki Big Show. Right. Four to seven weekdays. Yeah, that's quite specific. And iHeartRadio. Watto. Cheers. The Hauraki Big Show Podcast.
5:57Keyzie:Just on the jackpot, I didn't win lotto. No. But I did get four free lines again. You had the jackpot as well, didn't you, Keezy, on Saturday night? I don't get it. What? Because I was 28 mil, man. 28.5. It's all gone. The guys claimed it. In Gisborne. He lives in Gisborne. Imagine living in Gisborne, right? Yeah. And you fucking win$28.5 million. That place is beautiful. Yeah. Like my mother-in-law at the moment. I'd be out of there like fucking. Well, my mother-in-law at the moment is house-sitting down there, and she's in this amazing place, and the beach is just phenomenal. And she's about 100 metres from the beach.
6:38That's miles.
6:39Keyzie:You go in Gisborne, you could buy the most extraordinary property. But then you live in Gisborne. And then, you know, just get high the entire time, responsibly. Gisborne. No. Gisborne. That's what they're going to call it when you move there, man. That's what they call it when the hoody jay moves there. Yeah, the Gisborne. But, yeah, no, it was a nice fire. And I got a few messages late in the day. Oh, did you from your daughters, I hope? Yeah. Yeah, good shit.

7:05Mike Minogue:How early are you supposed to contact your father on Father's Day? There should be messages waiting there. In the morning? Yeah. Because I called him at 6pm. Yeah, that shit.
7:15Keyzie:You were a piece of shit.
7:18Mike Minogue:But he'd already had his gift from me.
7:20Keyzie:You were already sweating in your fart box. Yeah, true.
7:24Mike Minogue:Sweating in the old fart box, I call him. Oh, I just seen old Keezy there. Yeah, 6pm's too late, isn't it? It's quite late. But I explained it to him. And I already had a chat with him on the Saturday when I gave him his gift for the Saturday.
7:35Keyzie:All my girls, of course, are in Australia, so they're two hours behind. So I've got to give them a bit of grace. What about the one that's in New Zealand that got up at 11?
7:45Mike Minogue:12, I think. I used to be like that, eh? Oh, shit. Midday, man. Start real late. Morning, father. It's not morning. It's after midday. Yes. The missus and my daughter got me a – they do really well. It's actually fast turned into my favourite holiday. Yeah. because I don't have to do anything and I refuse to do anything. Yes. Not entirely. I love that. I don't have to do anything, but I refuse to do anything. Well, for example, just things like spending hours cleaning the kitchen and shit. I'm not doing it and I don't feel guilty about not doing it. Yes. I'm not doing it. Yeah. But got a nice card, nice card that the daughter makes.
8:30Yes, always. I've decided I've got to keep those. I should be keeping those because I'm only going to get about 25 of them, 30 if I'm lucky, and then I'll be dead. Yeah. It'll be quite nice to see those. I have those over the years. No, just biff them, man. Okay. And then the missus got me. They have this mobile sauna, mobile sauna on a beach.
8:54Keyzie:Yeah. So I went over to that, and then you do a cold plunge in the ocean. So we all went over. Mrs. Mum and sister are staying as well as the brother. So we all went over there. and went into the sauna there. A bunch of young folks there jabbering away like it was a fucking cafe. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, it's not on, man. Blah, blah, blah, top of the lungs, yada, yada, yada. There was a couple next to me talking about they were going to go skein. Might go skein, this, that, and the other. A couple of young women there, or woman, I thought. and then one of them starts saying, oh, it's my mum's 50th next month.
9:33It's like, fucking what? How is that possible? I'm about three years older than you. How can it be possible that your mum is?
9:41Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah. Well, maybe it's a hoity J39 situation. It could be. What do you mean, man? That you look way younger than, wait, what? Yeah, something. Yeah, you look young for your age. Something like that. Yeah, so it's a bit of a shock to the system, but 50th is now next month, so I'm looking forward to it. But you guys aren't going to be here. I'm having a massive party, but you guys will be away. Yeah, man. Are you sure you're not having a small party and then a really big one next year? Yeah, so I'd say. That's what I overheard at his office today. Did you? Yeah, yeah. Did you? Yeah, yeah. I don't actually want to do anything.
10:13Keyzie:It's a Wellington paranormal thing. I don't like parties. He wants everyone to come to his stuff. No, I just need you to come along, Jase. No, I'm not coming. I just need you to do a speech. Yeah, yeah. Just quick 10 or 15 minutes. Yeah, no worries. How much are you paying? Bad old me.
10:29Mike Minogue:You guys could MC it. Why don't we do a brainstorm for the party? Don't fucking. Get Kate to run it. Toddy will be there. Yeah, Toddy will be there. It was great. I love a Father's Day.
10:39Keyzie:Yes. They change, of course, over the years as your kids get older. I don't imagine I'll see, yeah, there'll be 15 years that I get nothing. But yes, it's nice to be acknowledged Yeah Now and then Well not now and then, once a year Once a year Yeah, that's right My mum rang me too Oh, did she? Yeah But not about Father's Day No, just about her own ailments, I would have thought Some ailments Yeah Yes And also got up in the morning and watched the rugby I was up at three in the morning. Yeah, right. Same. And I went, I'm not watching the rugby. Same. And I went back to bed. Right. And then watched it at 11.30.
11:27Keyzie:Wow. And you didn't find out the result? No. Wow. Well, we went out for breakfast. Sure. So, you know. Didn't come across it there at all? No. Nobody having a moment? I had a bit of a scroll. Oh, there was a South African guy ahead of us talking about, he was going, talking to his kids, no bullshit, and he was saying, you know, for 20 years, I've had to live with the fact that we've been beating the All Blacks and they come back in the last 10 minutes and they always beat us in the last 10 minutes. And finally, and I went, oh, da-da-da-da, put things in my ears. Yeah, but he had already given it away by then.
12:04Mike Minogue:It was like when Jase accidentally ruined Alone for you. Yeah, well, I've only got one episode left, Keezy. I haven't ruined it, have I? Well, not yet, no. It's down to the final three. God, it's a great show. It's good, eh? I absolutely love it. It's hard not to fucking watch it. You should watch it, Keezy. My wife wants to watch it. Yeah, you should. It's so, so good. Yeah, I probably will. It's right up her alley. Yeah, I've just had a bit where an old mate comes across that wallaby-like creature, you know? Yes. Oh, what are they called? pomper something melon yeah paddy melon paddy melon which is funny because it just looks like a fucking wallaby but they're thick as shit from the looks of it and I'm surprised you know he's just holding on to it it's just like not trying to get away not trying to get away or anything yeah it's really good and he's you know we're getting close obviously and he's held himself together incredibly well there's one guy that wants to leave after about five days because he misses his family so much yes And then this guy, the Kiwi guy, was about 35 days.
13:09He's like, oh, yeah, I just had my first pang of missing the family this morning. You know? Yeah. Over a month. He is the most Kiwi. Fucking over he is. He's absolutely magnificent. And the other guy that's a Bushman as well is great too. It's great, great stuff. Especially when he couldn't shit for so long.
13:29Keyzie:I know. I'm getting a bit worried about this. I'm getting a bit worried about this. and I was looking at this bottle thinking, yeah, I could maybe, I mean, you probably don't need to hear that. Do a homemade enema. And he's just cracking up going, I just don't want to be the guy that's going to get medically evacuated because he can't take a shit.
13:54But then he took a shit, Keezy, so it was all good.
13:57Keyzie:He took a massive Keezy steamer.
14:00Mike Minogue:This is the show. Or as we call it. 47, a pug son. 407 Weekdays Radio Hodaki. Dude! Dude!
