In short
The host argues that “million-dollar” online business ideas are often obvious to the creator but hidden to others; the key is identifying your superpower, then packaging expertise into a result-focused digital offer (not just information).
Guest backgrounds
No named guests appear as interviewees. The episode includes stories about (1) a successful cinematographer (decades in movies/commercials/music videos) and his fiance, a high-level female producer working on major campaigns including Lululemon; (2) “Jackie,” a woman with brick-and-mortar business experience and a healing/trauma-empowerment calling.
Key claims
People buy outcomes/experience and relationship-building, not raw info. Natural skills are teachable if you break down your process/pattern. Use three questions (10-minute stage topic, advice friends ask for, what lights you up) plus a bonus “what work experience do you have?”
Notable examples
Plane outlet failure leads to a framework pitch; Jackie’s healing process becomes teachable via pattern-finding; meal-prep “easy” to others is hard to the host, illustrating hidden complexity.

So consumers are savvy enough to know that it's not just information that makes people successful. It's how somebody is taking information and creating a real-life application from that information. There's this really famous scene in the movie The Sixth Sense by M. Night Shyamalan. There's a little boy who whispers to Bruce Willis, I see dead people. That movie was released in 1999. but I think about it all these years later because I feel like I deeply identify with that little boy. Okay, with the exception that I don't see dead people, but I have the power to see things other people don't.
0:37My superpower, for better or for worse, is that I could see business opportunity everywhere. More specifically, I see business opportunity from people everywhere. And so here's the tricky thing with my sixth sense. I could see it more easily and more powerfully than the average person. When I found myself doing a lot recently is trying to explain how I see business in knowledge that other people think is like common or average. I'm probably talking to you right now. I'm gonna go out on a limb and I'm gonna say that I think that you think because it comes easily to somebody or because maybe you don't put so much effort into it or because you think that it's just something that somebody can do at any time, I'm actually going to pause you and state the opposite.
1:22it. If it comes easy to you and it's natural, you have a gift. The tricky part about seeing your own gift is that you assume other people have it too. So what becomes immediately apparent to me is the need for me to point out the obvious that is not so obvious to the average person. Now, not to make a mom joke, but I'm going to say it anyway. I see businesses you can't see. Okay, but what's the point of having a gift if I don't at least try to share it? So that's what I'm going to do in today's episode, I'm going to talk about how you might be able to find your big business idea and things you don't even realize are your own superpower.
1:59So first, I'm going to give you a few examples. And then I'm going to share a framework with you that I use with anybody that I come in contact with. Yes, just in case you're wondering, I actually used this exact framework with a guy that I sat next to on a plane from Los Angeles to Miami. And I convinced him to create an online offer based on his expertise that he literally did not think was anything special. And here's the best part. He said he was going to use my framework and share it with his fiance so she would be able to create an online offer with her expertise as well. Hey, okay. So prepare your hearts because I am here to point out your superpower that can become a consistent revenue generator in your life and in your business.
2:42So let me take you on that flight from Los Angeles to Miami that departed at 6.45 a.m. I climbed into my seat and I did what I normally do, put in my headphones, I crack open a big thick book and I'm making my mission not to talk to people. I know, I know, I probably shouldn't admit that, but I am a massive introvert. And the time that I have on a plane is so sacred to me because I get to indulge in two of my favorite things, reading and working on business. So you might imagine my absolute terror when I realized halfway through our five and a half hour flight that my outlet isn't working. So like I ring that bell for like the flight attendant and I said, oh, excuse me.
3:21I believe my outlet isn't working. Can you help me fix it? To which he replied, oh, I'm so sorry, but all the outlets in row three aren't working at this time. Okay. Dun, dun, dun. Okay. This is like an M. Night Shalaman movie. Here we go. It's like, this is where you're going to cue the horror music because the scene is going to turn into black and white. And then we're going to add some thunder and lightning and some rain because I immediately went into panic mode. Like, dude, I had emails to write. I have podcasts to write. I have calls to review. I could not possibly spend three hours on this flight not getting my work done.
3:57And the guy sitting next to me, he had himself fully set up with portable chargers and extension cords. This guy was like his own MacGyver. He was like a professional traveler who worked on flights. So he heard a conversation and he said, oh, I have an extra portable charger. Would you like to use it? And immediately I was like, oh, the sky's open and there were white puffy clouds against a blue sky and there were butterflies and fairies floating through this cabin of Delta flight. I'm okay. I'm being dramatic, but he was literally my shining hero. So I said, yes, I'll use your outlet. So he put his headphones back in and I put my headphone back in and we just worked in happy silence for the last three hours.
4:38Okay, so then the flight began to descend and I took my headphones off and I thanked him for sharing his outlet and then he asked me what I did for work because he saw me working right alongside him. So I went through and I explained, oh, I help people turn their knowledge and expertise into an online offer for consistent 10k months of revenue. I work with service providers who have a business that they want to turn into a digital business. So we got into the conversation and he said, oh, well, that works well for other people, but it wouldn't work for me. And so I started asking questions like, hey, well, what do you do?
5:08And I came to find out that he is a very successful cinematographer with decades of experience with movies and commercials and music videos. And so like he mentioned, his industry was like, it's really competitive. And the reason he's been able to survive is because he knows how to build the business of being a cinematographer, not just being a good cinematographer. And I was like, okay, okay. So then I went on to explain that that is what precisely people on the internet would want to know or learn. Like there are other aspiring cinematographers who are like, I'm good, why am I not getting booked?
5:39To which she replied, well, why couldn't just somebody like search about it or use Google or AI to find out more information? Okay, then I explained that people are not buying information online. Today, people are investing in experience, firsthand knowledge, and the art of human relationship building. So consumers are savvy enough to know that it's not just information that makes people successful. It's how somebody is taking information and creating a real life application from that information. So by the time we landed in Miami, he went on to explain that his fiance is a very popular producer working on big budget commercial campaigns.
6:16So he explained that at the time, she was in Australia. And at that very moment, she was producing one of the largest campaigns for Lululemon and that she also happens to be one of the few female producers who are working at that level with continued success. And so he's like, I really believe like there are so many producers, but like really specifically female producers who would really love to know how she built her career and the business of how she created a life that empowers her to travel, to work with great teams, to have these really big budgets and to fully step into her power. He was more excited for her idea than his own, but he clearly saw how he could take knowledge, help somebody understand how to do it and create a result and follow a framework based on his experience to get a really powerful result.
7:02And I did all of this in like a matter of like 10 minutes. He didn't just see a path for himself to create a digital offer, but also for his fiance. And the best part is that having a digital offer is something they could build anywhere around the world on their own schedule. So I'm about to share that exact framework that I've used to help people over the years to help them discover how they can create an online business offer and a business. Now I'm gonna pause here because I'm gonna do that, but I wanna be very clear. The reason why I get so passionate about this is the people that we are working with are service-based business owners.
7:37These are people who like know, like you have a talent. Somebody is like, you have experience or perhaps you're up on the corporate ladder and you know how to do things very specifically. There is somebody who is looking at where you are saying, I would like to be there and I would like to do that. Now you might think, okay, well, being at the corporate level for human resources is something that most people do. Perhaps, but is there a result that you have had or achieved that can help somebody do that? And can they learn that online? I want you to ask yourself right now, what is a result that somebody wants, right?
8:08Like based on your job, what is the result that somebody wants? Okay, so let that marinate. We're gonna come back to that in a second. So I wanna share a personal insight into the types of conversations I'm having with strangers on the inside of my Instagram direct messages. Okay, so it's common for me to connect with people who look at the business I've built for myself and the businesses that have empowered other people to build as well. And then they also look at my lifestyle. And maybe, like, I hate even saying this, but kind of like maybe they're interested in building something like that for themselves.
8:39Now, what comes up a lot is fear and doubt and wondering if their idea is even good enough, strong enough. So in this example that I'm about to share, a woman reached out to me and she said that she had business experience in building brick and mortar businesses, but that she wasn't sure what she wanted to create an online offer around. So she has built physical businesses, a lot of them. So she has experience, but she's like, I don't know what I could create as an online offer around that. The idea that she keeps going back to is that she deeply believes she has a way to empower women to move through past traumatic experiences.
9:15So pause. She has a ton of business experiences and then she has like this big calling on the other side. So I was like, huh, how are we connecting the dots here? So I'm literally just DMing her. So she's not sure if that offer would work. And she's even more unsure if she could actually teach her process. So, okay, you best believe I have lots of opinions. So instead of typing out my reply, I sent her a voice message, not to simply validate her idea, but I wanted to walk her through the process of figuring out, well, how could she be able to create people about her healing process. And she's going to be teaching that healing process to others who desperately need help.
9:55So let's take a listen. Hi, Jackie. Okay, I got this. It's clear as all get out. So one thing I will say is I first want to highlight that you have a skill set that is very rare, and it puts you a few step ahead of other people perhaps starting with creating an online digital offer. So that's great news. Now, I also deeply identify with this belief that you don't know how you've gotten to the place that you are today. So I'm going to create a parallel that's totally different, not on the same level, but I want you to see how I was tracking the same way until I had a pattern interrupt. I stopped it and started asking questions and getting curious instead of saying, I don't know how I did it.
10:39So for instance, Here's an example, again, not on the same level. My team asked me, Jasmine, but how are you creating that content? How are you speaking that way? And my response was always, I don't know how I'm doing it. I'm just doing it. So for years, I had just said, I am just doing it. It comes natural to me. But the truth of the matter is, is that nothing in the history of the world has ever come natural to a person. It's a skill set that we subconsciously, which means that we aren't really aware that we're doing it, but we are. So you have been conditioned at some point in your life through some experience to approach a situation that is traumatic and heartbreaking and find a way to overcome it.
11:24Now, here's the real question that I have for you, Jackie. This is not, will this business work? Because we know other people are creating offers around trauma response, around sober living, around healthy living. So we know that that market exists. The question I have for you, which would mostly be around, do you believe you have the capacity to look at your process and break it down step by step? So here's what I'll bring out as an example. I said, I don't know how I'm creating this type of content. I just do it. And then I just sat down and I said, no, Jasmine, what are you actually doing? And then I broke down like, well, okay, I just had a brain dump.
12:04I just sat in front of a big white piece of paper and I said, okay, what am I actually doing? Well, I am taking these ideas that are floating around, something that I found interesting. So I wrote down random ideas. Then I wrote down interesting topics. Then I wrote down questions I'm often asked. Then I wrote down what can I help people with? Okay, that was my process. I just brained them. And then I said, right, but how are you looking at an interesting topic? So then I thought to myself, okay, how am I looking at this interesting topic? Well, I'm looking at it as this person has this perspective and I have a slightly different perspective.
12:35And based on my experience, this is how I'm approaching it. So then I took that to the third step and I said, okay, if this is my perspective and this is how I'm approaching it, how actually am I approaching it? And then I broke it down step by step by step, which felt so rudimentary and kind of ridiculous. But that was the start of a pattern. That was the start of me looking down and didactically saying, what actually are you doing? So let's pause here and I'm going to reflect this back to you. You would actually say, well, I don't know how, I truly don't know how I did it. So I definitely don't know how you could teach it.
13:06Listen, if you're doing it, you could teach it. The question I have for you is when is the last time you ever spent time thinking, how could I teach this? So our immediate conscious thought is I don't know how I teach it is who I am. But what I want to invite you to do is literally, can you spend just 10 minutes, put on a timer today. and all we're doing is building a proof of belief is that you set a timer for 10 minutes and you were to look back at something that was truly traumatic. If we go back, forgive me, if we go back to the assault situation, if we go back and getting out of a toxic relationship, what was, if you look back at it, what was the first two things that you did after the traumatic experience, after the toxic relationship, after depression, right?
13:54When you're actually thinking at how you were coming out of that, what were the two things that you did? And if those two things were similar in every single one of those situations, was it to talk to somebody? Was it to journal? Was it to pray? Was it to get involved in ministry? Whatever those things are, all we're trying to do is to find a way to say, what did you do? And then you're like, huh, that's the first time that I can look back and see that there was a pattern here. All we want to do is say, was there a pattern? Can I duplicate the pattern? do I still do this pattern here today? And could I teach this pattern?
14:28Now, if you can do that, and you have a background in business, game over. Game over. So let me know if you have any other questions. I'm here to support you. After I sent those voice notes, she replied and said, okay, I can do that today. Although the way you frame that, I think I already know the answer. Thank you. Okay, I'm going to pause here and let you know that I do not share people's messages without permission. So I asked Jackie for permission and I was so happy for Jackie that she let me know that she's now sharing her story and journey on Instagram at Surviving Under Grace. Okay, like do we see what just happened here?
15:06She has a ton of like real world experience that she would think would apply to something else. But what was happening during every single one of those journeys is she went through some really traumatic experiences. And she says, I know that I can help somebody get the result that I have living a full life in this particular way. So what you just heard was walking through the process and what I hope is clear to you is that you have something or done something or have experience that you can help somebody get to where you are by sharing what it is you know. And so if you're feeling similar to Jackie, I hope that my response to her also helped you.
15:39I'm also very comfortable talking about these things because just in case we're meeting for the first time, my name is Jasmine Starr and I'm the founder of The Consistent 10K, a program that teaches people how to build online businesses with an offer generating consistent 10K months. You're gonna take your business, your service-based information and turn it into a digital offer. We have helped hundreds of people build online businesses and they've grown past 10K, 20K and even 40K months. I am so happy that you get to share this process right now with me and you. So I wanna shift gears right here for a second.
16:13I just shared examples of people who knew exactly what they would create as a digital offer based on their experience. Okay, that's fantastic. I love it. It also happens to be my superpower. Okay, but I know that there's a large group of people who know they want to build an online business, but they're not quite sure exactly like, what could I create and what could I sell? And could I feel confident about it? So in these cases, I ask three simple questions to help somebody understand. Number one, is there experience, expertise, or passion that will help somebody else get a result? Remember, remember, people aren't buying information.
16:47They want a result. So let's just take the consistent 10K. What results do we provide? Well, we provide the ability to take your knowledge, expertise from your service-based business and turn it into an online offer or your experience and turn it into an online offer. So let's start with question number one. If I asked you to step on a stage and talk for 10 minutes, you don't have any notes and you don't know who's in the audience. If I hated you a microphone and asked you to speak, what could you speak about for 10 minutes? So I use this as a starting point because a lot of times people seem to think like, what comes easy to them comes easy to everybody else.
17:21Maybe you even think that this topic, oh, it might be simple, it might be easy, but I would definitely argue the opposite. What comes easy or simple to you may actually be very complicated to somebody else. So I'm gonna use myself as an example. Most people think that meal prepping is easy. I am a living testament that I think it's very complicated. Like, I don't think meal prepping, I don't think of those ways. I don't think they're easy. I don't think whatsoever. I am not the kind of person who's like, I'm going to buy extra produce. I'm not the type of person, I'm going to make that three times the amount of food.
17:52I'm not the kind of person who actually knows how to effectively store food for later points in time. I only grew up in a family where we ate what we made. And that was it. Like we ate everything we made. There was never any leftovers. In fact, it wasn't until this year that the idea of eating leftovers was something I would ever consider. I know. Judge me. Go ahead. Judge me. I have never taken home like a doggy bag. Like when people are like, I'll take this to go. I sit there and I'm like, why? Weird. So I have never warmed up food the next day. Now on the exception, I will, like if somebody brings home pizza and it's cold, I'll eat cold pizza.
18:28People think it's so gross. I love cold pizza. My husband thinks it's like, he's offended. He's offended if I ever dared to eat cold pizza. I think it's legit. but as far as like taking home leftovers, warming them, no, it's something I've never done. So when I started on a new health plan at the beginning of the year, part of the process was to really understand what I'm eating and to count macros and to be very aware of my portion size. So a huge piece of this puzzle came down to meal prepping but I had no idea where to start. I didn't know how to start. So I went to Instagram and I started consuming content of people who were out there making it easy for me to understand how to do that.
19:03So here's a crazy thing that happened. In that process, I immediately found a small group of people who have recipes I really liked and they provided helpful content and they made me believe, regardless if it was true or not, that they were the professionals and the best in their field. Why? Because they could talk for 30 or 60, 90 seconds on Instagram. They could give me amazing information. And then when I tried it on my own, it worked. It was very common for me to watch eight or 10 reels at a time to teach myself something. And then if each of those reels were about, I don't know, like 60 seconds.
19:35I just consumed 10 minutes of content, right there from them, 10 minutes of them positioning their expertise to me. So that's why if I were to ask you to step on a stage and ask you to speak for 10 minutes, it's essentially 10 pieces of content around something that is helpful, that you're good at and gets people a result. Cool, now that we got those wheels moving, I wanna move on to the second question that I would ask you. What is something that friends or family commonly ask you about. So maybe they ask you questions or they're asking for your advice. Like, what's that topic? Whenever I ask people this question, it seems like people normally have like a quick answer.
20:15Oh, like relationship advice, financial advice, organizing advice, planning advice, how to have tough conversations advice. Okay. The people who know us best are able to see things in us. If we were to take a second and think back to what pattern people are asking us, that's a very clear indication that we have a skill set we might not be paying that much attention to, but that could truly help somebody else. So my question to you is, what are your friends and family commonly asking you for advice? Now, the last and final question is, what lights you up? I mean, in the most basic and literal sense, what are you passionate about?
20:51And I don't want you to be critical or overthink this. Like, if you're really into chess or Star wars or run clubs or trivia nights like own it all i want for this exercise is to see like where is your brain mapping because when you love something you're willing to endure inordinate amounts of pain or pressure or discomfort not because it's easy but because you love it so when i ask you what you're passionate about i hope something in your body has a visceral reaction so you, huh, I think I know what that thing is. So if we were to take all of these three questions, what could you talk about for 10 minutes without any notes?
21:31What is something that people are coming to you for advice for? Or what is something that lights you up? How would you answer those questions? So I'm going to pause here for a second. This is not anywhere in my notes, but literally it just came to me. I had a conversation with a woman who was interested in creating a digital offer. She was on maternity leave. She had just recently gone back to her job and she says, I'm looking for a way to create online revenue because I want to be home more with my baby. And I don't know if I'm really lit up doing what I'm doing here. And so I asked her these three questions and we went through a sample exercise and she just still wasn't all that like clear.
22:12I guess I can kind of sort of do that. And so then I asked a bonus question and that's what I'm gonna add here. What work experience do you have? When she looked back, she was able to tell me that there was a few things that I'll do out of respect of her privacy, but in passing, she had simply just said, oh, well, I happen to have started in creating operations for events and for last eight years have been VP of operations. So now that I know you're VP of operations, Can I go back and ask you these three questions again? And so we answered these three questions and all of them, like the advice that people are asking her for are how do we create organization or how do we maximize?
22:52How do we get that productivity? Okay, the first thing was just like, if you had to stand on stage, she would like, oh, I would talk about operations. And the third thing, like what lights you up is like when her friends and family come back and they say they're that much organized, they're that much more productive. So she came up with a different set of answers when I asked her these questions. But when I said, what's your work experience? All of a sudden, she was able to look back and say, I have done this professionally. I could speak 10 minutes about it. People often ask me about it, and I get really fulfilled when people get a result based on what it is I know.
23:21So that's the bonus question. If after all of these, you're like, kind of sort of look back at your experience and see if that experience has anything to do with those three questions. So it's in the space of answering these questions that you have an opportunity to create an online offer that becomes an intersection of what comes naturally to you that you don't think is all that exceptional, but let me tell you it is, that people ask you about and then something that really excites you. Now, I understand that maybe this feels a little bit daunting not to have the answers, but maybe you're not quite sure how all of them intersect or maybe how all of these work together, or you're maybe confused or not sure about how it could actually be an online offer.
24:00That's totally okay and it's totally normal. In fact, myself and my growth strategy team, we work through these conversations every single day with people who are trying to figure it out for themselves. And the great news is the more you think about it and the more you understand how you could teach somebody something, well, the easier it becomes to frame how you might be able to create an online offer that leverages your expertise, your experience, and your passion. Speaking of passion, this podcast has always been a labor of love and it is an honor to connect with you. But I'm gonna say something that's a little bit off script because what I just shared was a conversation I had with a woman who joined the program because when she looked at her work experience, she found how she can create an online offer that really steps into her superpower that she thought was totally normal and get a result for people.

24:50Now, at the time of this recording, early this morning, I had a conversation with a woman who, when we had a conversation and we answered these three steps, she came up with what I thought is a freaking incredible offer. I was like, this is of you. This is incredible. She's gone viral a few times and people were asking her questions around what she thought was totally normal. And I am sitting reflecting back like, oh my gosh, this is so rare. Do you understand how rare this is? And she's like, yes. And so I was like, what are all of these questions? And she's like, all of the questions around this one topic.
25:21And I said, oh my gosh. And then immediately she fell into. But other people talk about it. I mean, I'm not really a professional. I mean, like I've just kind of taught myself this and like other people are gonna criticize like my technique. to which I flipped, reversed, unoed it. And I was like, the reason you're doing it differently and the reason you're not like everybody else is the reason why these people are coming to you. That's your competitive advantage. And despite me holding the belief that this idea was really incredible and it comes from an industry I'm very familiar with and I'm like, girl, this is freaking awesome.
26:00She didn't give herself the permission to believe it. So while I'm giving you a framework for you to go and figure out and understand that my superpower is to see potential and businesses in other people, I can hold all of that belief for you. In fact, I might even be able to excite you, but if you don't believe you have the capacity to do it, you are right. And just as much as I want to just crawl through the internet and I want to grab you the same way I wanted to grab her because I said, listen, it's a no. You just told me no. I respect that. But if I might, I will tell you, I want to crawl through the internet, grab you by your shoulders and shake you because you're not allowing yourself to see all the potential you have here.
26:46So if you would like to stay until you feel ready, until you believe in your offer, until you know it's different enough, we're going to be waiting here a very long time. Same thing I told her would be the same thing I'm going to be telling you. You have to jump when it's not clear. You have to make the decision. You have to get close enough to be like, I can sink my baby teeth into this so that when you're surrounded by a group of people who've done the same thing, who could see the potential, who have the frameworks, can get around you and say, let's go, let's do it. Because if you could have figured it out on your own by now, you would have.
27:20So when we're coming in and we're ideating, I just wanted to say two sides of it. What you believe to be true is right. So if you believe you can create a digital offer, you're right. And if you believe that you cannot create a digital offer because somebody does it better, it's been done before, you're not anybody special, why would anybody pay attention to you? You're right too. If you have found this episode helpful or enlightening, or you just thought it was a little too rough around the edges, I want to hear from you. Like seriously, I don't think that anybody can tell me anything too negative or bad.
