40On election night, we're going to prove that America does not belong to those who hate it. America belongs to those who love it. President Trump taking center stage at the GOP's first ever midterm convention, rallying Republican voters with control of Congress on the line. The AIs are basically doing the rogue Skynet behavior. I know this sounds crazy, but it is not. The people building the world's most powerful AI systems now warning their own creations could wipe out humanity. A new investigation alleging Benjamin Netanyahu was warned of a major Hamas operation days before October 7th. And a former attorney convicted of trying to shoot his ex-wife at point-blank range in an attack captured on camera.
23All that and more coming up in just a moment on your AM update.

That's promo code MK at urgentcarekit.com slash MK. President Trump taking center stage in Dallas last night, delivering the opening night keynote address at the Republican Party's first ever midterm convention. The president using the historic gathering to make his case directly to voters with control of Congress and the future of his agenda on the line in November.
58Mr. Trump seeking to energize the Republican base at a challenging political moment, with a recent Reuters-Ipsos poll placing his approval rating at 33%, the lowest of his presidency. Mr. Trump drawing a sharp ideological contrast with Democrats, vowing the United States will never become a communist country. In this election, the Democrats have nominated the most extreme and dangerous group of candidates for the House and Senate ever to seek office. These people are radical left communists. But America has beaten communism before, and we will beat it again. We've beaten it before. But these are people who do not care if your country is invaded by illegal immigrants, if your home is burglarized, if your parks and city streets are turned to filth and squalor and death, if your loved ones are pushed in front of a subway train in New York City or stabbed in the middle of a field in any state you want to pick.
55They don't care because they hate our country. And they are Democrats. And they're very, very wrong. On election night, we're going to prove that America does not belong to those who hate it. America belongs to those who love it. But we're not going to let the communism happen. not here, not in America, not in our 250th year. Mr. Trump urging his supporters to approach November as though his own name were once again on the ballot. When I'm on the ticket, Republicans always do very well. We won the presidency three times, but for some reason when a president wins, even if he's really a good president or a great president, there aren't too many of them, they don't win the midterms and nobody quite knows why.
46It's something deep down and psychological. We can't let that string be broken. So I'm asking you to pretend that I'm on the ballot. I'm on the ballot. I'm on the ballot. Just one more time. Because if we lose, you're going to lose your border. You're going to lose your tax cuts. You're going to lose your safety and security. Speaking in Texas, the president throwing his support behind Republican Senate nominee Ken Paxton. Democrats have nominated James Talafrico for the Southern. Talafrico authored a plan to annihilate Texas oil and gas. That's good. I'm working my ass off to get you oil and gas, and I got a guy that wants to end it.
30Would Texas be willing to end all oil and gas drilling? And he stated that he wants to totally dismantle capitalism. Dismantle. Quote, capitalism. He described himself as a person who hates Christianity, says that God is transgender. He called the American flag a complicated symbol of hate, claimed that the Ten Commandments are a form of fascism. And when he was asked what he loved most in the world, he said, I love transgender children. So getting back, freedom-loving patriots of Texas are going to defeat Tala Frico and elect Ken Paxson to protect the lone star star. Looking beyond the midterms, Mr.
17Trump outlining his priorities for the remaining two years of his term. We'll make all Trump tax cuts permanent so that the Democrats can't end them. And we'll pass the Great Healthcare Plan. We call it the great health care plan to stop all government payments of the big insurance companies. We will make it legally impossible for any future president to destroy our country by having the right to open the border again. We will pass a no invasion of our country act and we will win the war on fraud. And we will end no cash bail and institute the death penalty for large scale drug dealers, human traffickers and murderers of our law enforcement heroes.
04And one way or the other, before or after, if it has to be after, I hope it's before, November 3rd election, we will pass the Save America Act. The president also paying tribute to Charlie Kirk. with today marking one year since the Turning Point USA founder was killed while speaking at Utah Valley University. So exactly one year ago tomorrow, a far left extremist assassinated my great friend and conservative voice, Charlie Kirk, because Charlie Kirk spoke the truth. What shocked millions of Americans was not only the fact that Charlie was murdered as bad as it was, but also how many people made an excuse for it or cheered for it.
50They were cheering. Some people, sick people. For a brief moment, the mask came off the radical left, and you saw what they were really all about. And now those same people are trying to get power over you in this election, and they are all voting Democrat, okay? They're all voting, every one of them, and you can't let it happen. We will not let them win. and in Charlie's honor, I just want to say we love you, Charlie. The two-day convention continuing tonight, with Vice President J.D. Vance addressing the crowd before the president returns to deliver the closing remarks. One former and two current researchers at one of the world's leading artificial intelligence companies now sounding the alarm about the technology they helped create, warning the race toward more powerful AI could end with humanity losing control.
42Jacob Coxson announcing his resignation from Anthropic this week after spending the past three years conducting AI research at both Anthropic and OpenAI. Coxon writing on X, quote, neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. Superintelligence referring to the still theoretical point at which an AI system becomes more capable than even the most intelligent human minds. Coxon warning those systems could soon, quote, hack anything, revolutionize any field overnight, and acquire real power and resources. He claims the researchers building those systems privately acknowledge the stakes, writing, quote, the people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade.
26This is not a marketing stunt. Coxson, arguing many employees at OpenAI have not fully grasped the potential consequences, while Anthropic understands the risk but continues racing to reach superintelligence first because its leaders reportedly do not trust competing companies to develop it safely. He is now urging AI researchers to reject the idea that the race to superintelligence is inevitable, while raising the possibility of a temporary ban on further advances in model capabilities if companies and governments cannot reach an agreement to slow down. Two senior anthropic researchers then publicly backing his central warning.
01Evan Hubinger, who leads Anthropic's alignment science team, writing, quote, Jacob is correct here. We really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans. I personally think it is greater than 10 % within the next decade. Hübinger adding that he believes the danger from today's publicly available models remains low, but warning Anthropic does not yet have a plan for keeping a superintelligent system aligned with human goals and is not clearly on track to develop one. His primary concern involving so-called recursive self-improvement, where an advanced AI begins improving its own capabilities, potentially allowing it to become more powerful at a pace its human developers can no longer follow or control.
40Anthropic Scalable Oversight lead Samuel Marx adding, AI developers believe their technology could cause human extinction or similarly bad outcomes. This could happen in the next few years. Axios noting critics have long accused Anthropic and OpenAI of exaggerating the potential power of their own technology to increase their valuations and encourage regulations favoring the industry's largest companies. The warnings, however, following several documented cases of AI models behaving in ways their developers neither requested nor anticipated. OpenAI acknowledging last month that models undergoing internal cybersecurity testing circumvented controls intended to isolate them from the internet, communicated through unauthorized channels, exploited vulnerabilities, and compromised portions of OpenAI's own infrastructure and systems belonging to the AI platform Hugging Face.
29OpenAI saying those models were operating with reduced safeguards while announcing tighter security and greater monitoring in response. Center for Humane Technology co-founder Tristan Harris yesterday on Fox News saying the danger is not limited to American AI companies, pointing to similar warning signs emerging from China. now anthropic is calling on all uh all companies that's right to stop down and evaluate that's that's how disturbed they are about this that's right and i imagine on some level china is they are a all-encompassing controlling society does not want this either that's exactly right and when we were i was last with you in may and i talked about how china's model also went rogue it started during training hacking out of its system and then started mining for cryptocurrency when no one programmed it to do that.
16Again, China's models do this, our models do this. This moment is like the August 6, 2001 memo that hit President George W. Bush's desk saying that al-Qaeda was planning attacks in the U.S. This moment is the AIs are basically doing the rogue Skynet behavior. I know this sounds crazy, but it is not. This is the moment where we have to act. We need someone strong enough and brave enough to do something about this right now. The warnings arriving as public concern about artificial intelligence continues growing. A new NBC News poll finding 70 % of American adults are now more worried than excited about AI, with roughly two-thirds saying the technology poses a high risk to society and opposing the construction of an AI data center near their own community.
58Coxon will join Megyn Kelly later today on The Megyn Kelly Show. Coming up, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatening a lawsuit over a disputed report claiming he received advance warning of a major Hamas operation before October 7th. and a former attorney convicted after trying to shoot his ex-wife at point-flank range instead of crowded restaurants.
24Our sponsor, the Electronic Payments Coalition, says Washington politicians are always getting in your wallet and that now they're messing with your credit card. They say your credit card and the security it offers are under attack and that Senators Dick Durbin and Roger Marshall want to changed the nation's payment system to benefit corporate megastores like Walmart and Target at the expense of everyday Americans. Credit cards can keep your payments secure and provide rewards that families use to help make everyday purchases more affordable. The Electronic Payments Coalition says the Durbin Marshall mandates would let corporate megastores cut corners on credit card processing, routing transactions over cheaper, untested networks with weaker security and fewer protections.

A new investigation from the Israeli newspaper Haaretz alleging Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally received advance warning of a major Hamas operation before the October 7th massacre. The report published Tuesday claiming the president of the United Arab Emirates warned Netanyahu about the potential attack 10 days before it happened. Netanyahu categorically denying the story, announcing yesterday that he instructed his attorneys to file a libel lawsuit against Haaretz journalist Shlomi Eldar and others involved with the report.
46The prime minister calling the allegations a, quote, malicious fabrication and, quote, sinister libel intended to influence next month's election. Haaretz reportedly basing its account on three senior foreign sources familiar with an alleged 45-minute call between Netanyahu and UAE's president. The claims remaining disputed and not independently established, with the New York Times saying it could not confirm the reported call between Netanyahu and the UAE president. According to the report, Bin Zayed warning Netanyahu that then-Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was preparing a major operation against Israel.
20The UAE president reportedly fearing the operation could kill large numbers of people and trigger consequences across the Middle East, including damage to the normalization agreements between Israel and several Arab nations. Netanyahu allegedly responding that the intelligence available to Israel pointed instead toward possible Hamas activity in the West Bank, while expressing confidence in the country's ability to respond to whatever developed. The alleged warning reportedly originating with a Palestinian intermediary who maintained contacts with both Hamas and Israeli security officials. During one reported exchange, Sinwar using the Arabic word zilzal, meaning earthquake, to characterize what Hamas was preparing.
58He later allegedly boasted to the intermediary that an unprecedented and frightening operation was coming. The information eventually reaching both the UAE leadership and Israel's Shin Bet security agency, with the message reportedly delivered to Shin Bet on September 15th. Then-Shin Bet director Ronan Barr subsequently briefing Netanyahu about Sinwar's warning. Israeli security leaders gathering two days later to consider how the country should respond. According to Haaretz, Barr presenting officials with two possible responses. carrying out an immediate operation against the perceived threat or reinforcing Israel's security posture around Gaza and the West Bank.
35The meeting reportedly ending without a course of action being selected. According to the investigation, Bin Zayed deciding to contact Netanyahu personally after Emirati officials concluded Israel had not responded adequately to the information. Bar and then-Israeli military chief Hirzi Halivi both reportedly telling Haaretz they were never informed about the alleged call between the two leaders. The newspaper separately alleging that Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel delivered another warning to Netanyahu during roughly the same period, describing signs that Hamas was preparing an extraordinary operation.
08Netanyahu allegedly maintaining that conditions in Gaza remained manageable, with Israel's immediate security focus directed toward the West Bank. Netanyahu's office calling the report, quote, an absolute lie, insisting he neither spoke with Ben Zayed during the period in question nor received a warning from him. Netanyahu now saying reviews by his office, Israel's National Security Council, and his military secretary found no record of the alleged conversation, his office adding that if the UAE possessed any relevant information, it would have been shared through intelligence channels between the two countries.
39The UAE foreign ministry neither confirming nor denying the alleged conversation, saying it does not comment on media reports or speculation involving discussions between world leaders. The ministry adding that the UAE and Israel maintain open lines of communication and that relevant intelligence is shared when necessary. The dispute emerging less than two months before Israel's national elections has questions surrounding what Netanyahu and the country's security establishment knew before October 7th became a major campaign issue. Four opposition party leaders now citing the report as they renew their call for an independent commission to investigate the attack, while Netanyahu's government has resisted creating such a commission.
19A former Ohio attorney now facing up to 25 years in prison after trying to shoot his ex-wife at point-blank range inside a crowded restaurant. A Lucas County jury last week convicting 43-year-old Matthew Exton of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault, and several accompanying firearm specifications. The attack unfolding in April of last year during a soft opening at Sabira Restaurant in downtown Toledo. According to Lucas County Prosecutor Julia Bates, Exton first had a drink at the adjoining Souk restaurant when he spotted his ex-wife, Kate of Alone, dining next door with her parents.
54Exton reportedly entering Sabira and ordering another drink to be delivered to their table, then spitting toward the family as he walked out. He later returned with a loaded handgun heading directly toward the table. The surveillance video showing Exton standing over his seated ex-wife, extending the gun toward her face, and apparently trying to fire. When the weapon failed to discharge, Exton pulling it back and appearing to manipulate it before a waiter rushed him from behind and tackled him to the floor. Other employees and diners then joining in to restrain Exton until police arrived. Investigators later determining the safety was still engaged, with one round reportedly in the chamber and seven more in the magazine.
34Go to megankelly.com to watch the shocking security footage from the incident. Ex-wife Valone breaking down on the witness stand as she described the moment she thought her life was over. He made a beeline right for our table, and he took a gun out of his freaking coat, and he pointed it right at me, and I saw his finger moving, I mean, I saw his eyes, I saw the frustration in his eyes when it didn't go off. And right in that split second, they tackled him and they held him down. And he screamed. We're all screaming. And I kept yelling, gun! I yelled, gun! Over and over again, because I knew I was dead!
22I knew I was dead! And I didn't want anyone else to get hurt, and I thought, I thought if they came, if other people came, they'd get hurt. Axton testifying in his own defense and acknowledging that he thrust the weapon toward Valone's face, while reportedly insisting he never intended to pull the trigger. Exton claiming he merely wanted to frighten his ex-wife into moving faster on the sale of their former home in Michigan so he could collect his share of the proceeds. The jury convicting Exton of attempting to murder Valone, along with felonious assault counts involving Valone and her mother.
56Jurors acquitting him of the remaining assault count involving Valone's father, who testified that Exton never pointed the weapon toward him. The trial becoming nearly as chaotic as the attack, According to the Toledo Blade, Exton repeatedly interrupting prosecutors during their closing arguments, at one point shouting the word gun and making gun-pointing gestures toward a prosecutor. Judge Gary Cook reportedly sending the jury out of the courtroom several times to warn Exton about his behavior. The former attorney now scheduled to be sentenced September 21st. His Ohio law license suspended shortly after the attack.
