In short

The episode argues that WNBA coaches and star players are failing to speak up about fairness and safety in women’s sports amid transgender participation. Megyn Kelly and guest Stu Bergeer criticize Caitlin Clark for not addressing the issue when asked, praise Sophie Cunningham for speaking out, and attack multiple coaches/commentators for supporting trans-inclusive policies. They also cite alleged real-world injuries and argue that even a small number of cases is unacceptable.

Guest backgrounds

Stu Bergeer is host of Predictable with Stu (predictableshow.com) and Stu and Dave Do America on Blaze TV. He frames the issue as a basic safety and truth problem, and says he has a 13-year-old daughter who plays volleyball.

Key claims

Clark “refused” to lead; Cunningham’s comments were “truth” and should be defended. Coaches like Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl/“Cherry” Reeve are portrayed as dishonest and wrong about locker-room safety. The episode claims biological males have inherent athletic advantages and that “inclusivity” would eliminate the WNBA. It also asserts that trans women are often predators (and includes a claim about “autogynephilia”).

Notable examples

A Lowell, Massachusetts girls basketball incident where a biological male player allegedly injured multiple girls, leading to a forfeit. Caitlin Clark’s quoted postgame response about leaving it to governing bodies. References to Leah Thomas and Riley Gaines’ swimming testimony. Mentions Clay Travis offering $10 million for a WNBA-vs-boys high school all-star matchup. Mentions OutSports and UCLA Law estimates about trans athletes in college/high school.

0:27Hey, everyone. I'm Megyn Kelly. Welcome to the Megan Kelly show and happy Monday and happy August. It's happening. We're slowly inching our way back to the fall, but we still have a full month left and Labor Day comes late this year. There's a growing controversy in the WNBA over men and women's sports. And I got to tell you, I have a lot of thoughts on this. Sophie Cunningham has shown incredible courage. Caitlin Clark has not. These women's coaches are absolute effing cowards. and we have taken one step forward, two steps back when it comes to this issue. I am sick of people who don't know anything about this spewing their ignorance all over the internet, whether it's verbally or through their dumb t-shirts or the attacks on the Sophie Cunningham who simply spoke truth about how it's not fair to allow men to compete in women's sports.

1:24This is the fact that there's this much backlash against her shows we're not nearly as far along on this issue as I thought we were. And I'm sorry, Caitlin Clark was directly asked to speak on it and she was cowardly. She refused to do it. It is one thing to inject politics into your sport where they don't belong. Like Colin Kaepernick kneeling in the middle of professional football games. It's quite another when little girls are getting the shit kicked out of them in their sport. And you are the most famous woman in women's basketball. And you're directly asked as the issue rears its head in your sport and you punt on it.

2:09You won't say anything. You'd rather let the 12 year olds handle it. F that. I see them as a very different. And I'm very disappointed in Caitlin Clark. And I'm very proud of Sophie Cunningham, who, by the way, does nothing other than have Caitlin's back. That's kind of one of her main roles. She scores points and she has Caitlin's back as Caitlin gets attacked in her own league with refs who won't support her. You'd think she'd have some empathy for the little girls who are getting attacked by men in her league. It's not all about her. It's about other people beside her. But, God, she had a huge opportunity.

2:48And let me tell you that in this space, a lot of us women, a lot of us who have spoken out on this issue from Jennifer Say to Chloe Cole to Riley Gaines and and Sage Steele and many others have been waiting for some professional woman who's currently playing in a major professional sport to take the lead on this. It's one thing for, you know, Sage, at least, is a sportscaster. Riley was a sports star at the college level. I'm in news. Chloe was almost transitioned by a rabid industry that heard her say I'm gender confused and started chopping off her body parts. What we need is a star, professional female athlete who's currently playing her sport to risk it.

3:40and we we haven't had it until sophie cunningham who i respect and i take nothing away from her but she's not a household name she's not caitlin is you know even in women's tennis martina navratrol and i agree on nothing politically nothing in fact we've spent a lot of the past few years attacking each other on x over various political issues but i have nothing but respect for her on this issue. She's been very outspoken. Where's Serena? Where's Venus? Where's Coco Gauff? Where's where's Naomi Osaka, who wore her BLM t-shirts and so on, spoke out on that when it was an issue that didn't have anything to do with tennis.

4:21This actually has to do with sport. Where where's all that courage now when we need it the most? I'm sorry, but this is a much bigger deal. There are young women being hurt by the day. We showed you the videotape at a Lowell, Massachusetts of those young girls in basketball getting hurt. I'm sorry, but you do have to say something. You do. If you're just sitting on the sidelines, not say anything, I don't respect it, but I understand it. Look at this. Look at the six foot man who's brutalizing these girls in this school. This is 2024. It's not ancient history. One girl after the other, after the other got hurt in this game in Massachusetts at the Charter School of Lowell girls basketball team.

5:13They had to drop out of this game against the Kip School in Massachusetts. They forfeited after one of Kip's players, who was a biological male, injured not one, not two, but three of their players. School officials said the team decided to forfeit because other players were afraid. They were afraid. They knew they'd be getting hurt too. Okay. I guess we are going to speak to it now because I just did, but we're actually not starting with that story today. Stubergear is here and we're going to start with something else, but there's a pin. Let's put a pin in that one because I come to you directly from X where I've been arguing with people who just refuse to see reason on this.

5:57They just refuse to see it. I, there's still people all over the internet defending this as like somehow unfair to trans people attacking Sophie Cunningham as just wanting attention saying, Oh, Caitlin, not speaking out is, you know, who, who could blame her? I understand that. I get it. But she was, the question was put directly to her and the teammate who's defended her more than any other more than any other is twisting in the wind. She's twisting in the wind. They're attacking her. They're booing her at every match. She could use a little support effort. Let's do let's do the other story later.

6:36We got to start with this one. She could use a little support. Caitlin, that's how this generally works. It goes both ways. She's on your team. She always has your back. She could use you having hers, but you refused. I'll show you what happened when Caitlin Clark was asked. Here it is. South 14, watch. Kaylin, first time I'm going to speak with you this week. It's a straight game, but the demonstration revolving around fans' rights before the game, just how have you and your teammates navigated this conversation that's happening on the outside? For us, like, you know, it's not really a discussion we really have in our locker room.

7:14I think it's for leagues and the governing bodies to work with their athletes to find solutions, but our focus is on basketball, and that's what we talk about and how we can get wins, and obviously we didn't do that tonight. So you need to find an area to improve in that way. Do you have any reaction to the. I just answered for you. OK, so it's up to the governing bodies of the leagues to, quote, work with their athletes to find a solution. What are you? What are you? Are you a leader or a follower? Are you strong or are you cowardly? Yes, I realize she's already dealing with a lot of shit in that league.

7:52What's one more thing? Who cares? Who cares at this point? They hate her. What are the people out there saying? Well, she's she's dealing with a lot. Do you think she actually has a chance of winning these people over? She doesn't. They can't stand her because she's white, because she gets all the attention, because she's straight. I mean, newsflash, none of those things is going to change. She's these people who can't stand her for those reasons are not winnable. They're not going to become Caitlin Clark fans. She has the opportunity to stand up for young women, which is far more important than the color of her skin or her sexual preference.

8:29This actually is a chance to be a leader and to do something that matters for young girls in her sport. And she did not have the courage of Sophie Cunningham. She clearly did not have the courage of Sophie Cunningham, who got this started when she was on a podcast and was asked the question of what do we do about, you know, boys wanting to play in girls sports. And she kindly said, I just don't think it's the right thing. You know, I believe in girls being able to play girls sports to keep them safe and to keep it fair, paraphrasing. And for that, she's received nonstop abuse ever since. Jennifer Say and Riley Gaines just went to an Indiana fever game.

9:19That's both Caitlin's and Sophie's team. And, um, they, they, they said everybody was booing every time Sophie Cunningham was on the court. They said they, they, they, they cheered as loudly as they could. God bless them. Um, but they too got shit from people who were there. Uh, this, this just happened, it just happened that this other coach, Okay, there was an issue with the coach.

9:45There's been a couple of coaches who have spoken out against Sophie Cunningham. All right. And there's been a couple of coaches who have also punted, afraid to say anything. First, I'm going to start with Minnesota Lynx coach, Cherry Reeve. Okay, this is, she's upset. And this is where, I'm trying to see, I think it's number... Yeah, yeah. It's not 11. Let's hear it. Number one, we need to protect trans kids. Every kid. To me, it's a human rights issue. Every kid has a right to schools. Regardless of gender diverse, transgender, every kid has the right to access. Now, what gets nuanced is, you know, when you're beyond puberty, when you're an Olympic sport, when you're, you know, scholarships.

10:38system and that sort of thing. That's where I say that common sense people get together and you find common ground to find a way to be inclusive. The answer isn't no. It is not the case that we have quote biological men in girls locker rooms. The way it's being phrased, the innuendo there that somehow transgender women are predators of some kind in the locker room. There's a lot of narrative that is problematic that we need to address. That is simply not what's happening. You don't know anything. You don't know anything. You're an ignorant fool. You should take a seat, madam, and stop speaking about this.

11:22There are biological men in women's locker rooms. Why don't you take two minutes and listen to Riley Gaines's account of what it was like swimming against Leah Thomas? in the NCAA championships. Why don't you just take two minutes and listen to the testimonial of one of our most famous athletes who is outspoken on this issue. It absolutely is happening. Ask any member of the UPenn women's swim team from two years ago who were told they needed to get therapy when they said they did not want to change into their bathing suits in front of an intact male, Will Thomas, who changed his name to Leah and was prancing around with his penis out in their locker room.

12:10You absolute ignorant fool. I just think we should be inclusive of whom? Truly, does Caitlin Clark, does Sophie Cunningham have the requirement? Are they required to be inclusive of LeBron James? Answer it. Answer the damn question. Are they hashtag part of the problem if they say no to someone of that size and strength coming into their locker room and playing against them on the basketball court because they're not going to be, quote, inclusive in your world? That's what we're talking about. I'm sorry, but it is a time for choosing. I know you want to be inclusive. I know no one wants to take a stance on this issue.

13:02Trust me, Charlie Kirk and his family are very aware of what can happen to you if you are too outspoken on this issue. Many of us have been living under the threats by these activists, violent activists for years now. And I've got to tell you something else. I've got another thing, another bone to pick. Every time I comment on this issue on X, etc., only post the Israel commentary, by the way, which tells you something about who's ginning up the attacks on me. People say, oh, what? Oh, is this you from 2018? My NBC clips, which my audience is well aware of. And you know, that's part of my story on this issue.

13:41Many of us back in 2016, 17, 18 were much more accommodating of this trans crew than we are today because the evolution on it has been stunning and dramatic. Do these people actually want to tell me that things are the same in 2026 America on the trans issue as they were in 2018? Fucking liars. Go F yourselves. I was just saying to somebody on X today, yes, that was me in 2018 on NBC, something I've never tried to hide. Do you have a search bar in your Google? Could you pull up 2020, 2021, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26? Get up to speed. Many of us have sat around only to see our schools and our communities and our sports taken over by men in women's sport after sport after sport, locker room after locker room, to the point of the farcical where Melody Wisehart up in Canada is swimming as a 12-year-old girl, this 50-year-old man.

14:45Okay? So we've evolved on this issue. When you see Chloe Cole telling her story as she did on this show, one of the first places she came with her testimonial at age 15 about how her boobs got chopped off as a pubescent girl only to within months realize she was just depressed. She didn't want to change transition genders. It can radicalize you, you effing assholes. And you know that, right? But any past stance that's not consistent with the current one has to be used against you like you're dishonest as opposed to an honestly evolved person who's now avidly fighting for the right cause. Take a look at Riley Gaines's evolution on this.

15:27She didn't stand up to Leah Thomas. She swam against him. She did stand on the podium next to him. She was forced to. Do you think the Riley Gaines of today would do that? Absolutely not. It takes a minute. It takes a minute. When she first got active in this space, she was using the male pronouns or the female pronouns for men. So was I. Many of us have taken some time to get comfortable with being honest because we, especially as women, have been raised to be nice. We have been raised to be liked. We have been raised to get pats on the head for being good girls. And it can take a damn lifetime of practice to break that cycle.

16:07Caitlin Clark appears to be still in it and needs help. She needs help breaking out of it. Here's thought 12. This is ESPN's Rebecca Lobo, who heard that same coach that we just played from the Minnesota Lynx, Sherry Reeves, Cheryl Reeves. And this was her reaction. Very different from the one you just heard here. We see Cheryl Reeves wearing a shirt today in support of trans kids. Trans kids belong on the shirt. This is in the aftermath of Sophie Cunningham's recent comments. We actually saw Cheryl and Sophie speaking at center court pregame. And yesterday, Cheryl Reeves spent a lot of time talking at length with the media about this topic.

16:57I would encourage anyone to go and listen to Cheryl Reeves' comments. Incredibly thoughtful, easy to find online. And just encourage anyone to go and listen. very thoughtful, easy to find. I would encourage it. Why don't you keep your mouth shut? You have no idea what you're talking about, Rebecca. I challenge you, Rebecca, come on this show. Let's have a debate. If you have any guts whatsoever, you come right here. I will let you finish your answers. I will let you make all your points instead of just trying to propagandize the ESPN audience, which you would fall out of your damn chair if you saw LeBron James show up at an Indiana Fever game.

17:42You'd fall out of your damn chair. These are such dishonest brokers. This Cheryl Reeves is an ignorant person and should stop talking. You find common ground to find a way to be inclusive. The answer isn't no. It's not the case that we have, quote, biological men in girls' locker rooms. The way it's being phrased, the innuendo there, is that somehow transgender women are predators. Here's another thing, Cheryl. They are. A large percentage of them are. They are not in the women's locker room because they think they're women. They're there because they suffer from a condition known as autogynephilia.

18:33And this condition is a sexual fetish that causes you to become erect and get turned on as an intact male by showing yourself dressed as a woman to other women. They are working out a sexual fetish. Why don't you Google Cheryl Planet Fitness California man jerks off in women's stall as a young woman came in there and we all clearly saw the shadow of a guy jerking himself off in the women's stall of that bathroom. And the only reason I can say it to you so confidently is because she had the forethought to whip out her phone and film the shadow. Which you could clearly see what he was doing. And she and her boyfriend bravely confronted this man because they can become violent.

19:27We've seen that, too. Like, how dare you lecture these women on being inclusive? How dare you? These old hags sitting on the sidelines. I'm sorry, I'm getting nasty now, but it's true. They're old, fat hags sitting there trying to tell these young, beautiful women, you just sit there and you be part of this fetish. You let them get off to you. You're a bigot if you call them out. You're disgusting. You're not inclusive. You're nasty. You're going to get booed. And all the fans who appear to be part of the LGBTQ brigade will deliver on exactly that promise. Boo! Oh, and Sophie Cunningham comes out.

20:09Scare Caitlin Clark out of being the leader she can be and taking a stance on the most obvious women's civil rights issue of our time. It's what's happened. Clay Travis today of Outkick and now with Fox was tweeting. He wants to start a league, his own team in the league. He wants to start his own team within the league, and it's going to be all trans people. I mean, all dudes posing as women. They will kick the asses of every team out there. I beg him to do it. Beg. Beg. He's also saying that the number one team, I think he's saying the all-stars, but the number one team in the WNBA, if they will play any team of high school boys, like high school all-stars, he'll pay the winner$10 million.

21:01I'm sorry, but that's what needs to happen. that kind of display that just shows how absurd this is how absurd what you're asking these women to accept is physical harm unfairness at the lower levels the loss of scholarship the loss of the glorious feeling of accomplishment and and then when they dare speak up you shame them as bigots or in the case of women who haven't consistently held this position you shame them for being inconsistent. Go F yourselves. It is beyond time for everyone to be speaking out about this issue. It is obvious. It is plain as the nose on your face. Everyone who looks at it knows how unfair it is.

21:42The picture of Leah Thomas next to all the young women at the NCAAs brought it home more than any other. If you are still pretending that this is an issue of fairness to the trans athlete. You're a liar. You're a dishonest liar. You should not be listened to. There were protesters who showed up at these games over the weekend and they were on both sides. Here we have the Golden State Valkyries coach, Natalie Nakasi. This woman's a lunatic too. I'm sorry, but she like. Listen to where she stands, OK? This is what Clay Travis was apparently responding to. But listen to this nutcase. Just in terms of how I'm seeing it is if I could answer with like for me, sports, sports is about belonging.

22:39It's about inclusivity. It's about allowing everyone to be their authentic self. you know I'm big on that just because I have been criticized for my height for my ethnicity I've been in those you shouldn't belong here many times and for me I don't want that space especially Golden State to ever feel like that so I'm all about women little girls deserving to play and that includes trans women so I'm all about inclusivity you're an idiot it. I'm all about belonging and inclusivity. You can we replay the video of the girls in Lowell, Massachusetts? Okay. You tell it to them. You tell it to them, Natalie.

23:30Look at this girl get thrown to the ground. Try to get back up repeatedly. She can't. She's in pain. her she is wincing she is back down she cannot get up and it would happen again and again and this is by far not the only example there are many other examples of this happening how dare you sit there in your in your air-conditioned press conference and say it's about inclusivity because I've been attacked because of what, my height? Is that what she said? Are you kidding me? What? Is somebody actually talking about keeping tall people out of the NBA now, the WNBA? What are you saying? It's what we call a non sequitur.

24:20I just, I kind of can't get over the absence of courage. These are supposed to be leaders. sports are supposed to encourage leadership leaders to emerge because they have high stakes all the time all the time you know i was just talking to my kids play tennis and one of their dear friends is a golf star and i was just talking to them about this like those sports are very scary because you're out there by yourself you know when you're playing a tennis match it's just you usually and the other person same when you're a golfer you know you might be on a team but it's really like your score is going to determine whether you win or lose.

25:00And it really takes nerves of steel, but it does develop something in you, a strength, an inner strength, an inner fortitude and resilience and ideally emotional mastery of challenging situations. And that goes for team sports too, especially the leadership aspect. Like, where is that? Where is that? Why Why are all these coaches so weak and desperate for the approval of deranged masses? Caitlin Clark, I get it. She's been through a lot. I don't. That's not an excuse. She's still stronger, richer, with more opportunity than all the girls coming up behind her. All the girls. I guarantee you they felt so let down by that answer.

25:51And just one more thing. All right. Like we've heard this repeatedly on how like it's such a small issue. Allegedly, Dave Portnoy, who's on the right side of this issue and who I like. But he was raising a similar question. And I had them cut the soundbite watch. It seems like such a small percentage of people. I don't know how this story is so big and why people are so adamant both ways. And I don't think it speaks to Sophie other than there's one issue. Like people try to say she feels this way. She must be Maggie. She must be this. Caitlin Clark's getting dragged into it. They're asking. It's a nuclear story on something that I don't know how many people it actually affects.

26:31And here's how I look at it. If you are born, if you can't have Danny Almonte, Little League superstar, being like, I want to be a girl and dominating Little League All-Stars. But if you have a bunch of kids and none of it matters, and again, I don't want to get the age, who cares? So it's crazy to me that this story is that big. And I don't think Sophie Cunningham said anything that that's great. That is that crazy or worthy of this type of controversy. But like with anything in the WNBA, it takes on a world of its own. OK, here's the answer to that. First of all, it is irrelevant how many girls this is happening to.

27:15One is enough. One girl like Peyton McNabb with brain damage as a result of a man posing as a woman, nailing her in the head with a volleyball is enough. That is not the relevant question. Stop asking that. Not not mad at Dave Portnoy. Just saying stop asking that. It's irrelevant how many there are. The answer is clearly there are enough. How many would be enough for the doubters? not Dave, but again, this Minnesota Lynx coach was raising the similar questions, but not in a genuinely searching way that Dave is. How many would be enough for her to say, let's stand up for girls? How many have to get hurt?

27:55Exactly. Does my daughter have to get hurt? Does your daughter have to get hurt? How many? Okay. So one is enough. That's the actual answer. And also, if it's only a handful, then this is a non-issue. Let's ban them and move on. If it's just a few, Two, we're not hurting many trans people, so let's just move on. Right? Okay, no problem. If it's so few, then why do you object? Like, this shouldn't be a big issue. It's not some big trans issue. But secondly, thirdly, I guess, there are significant numbers of girls getting hurt, having unfairness injected into their sport, and potentially losing scholarships, medals, like we saw in the Olympics, and so on.

28:40And here's some data that I pulled from January 2025. It's from a pro trans outlet called OutSports, who, if anything, has a reason to understate the number of trans athletes playing in college sports. They state that there have been well over 40 out trans athletes competing in college sports. Quote, OutSports knows there are countless other trans athletes who have competed at the collegiate levels who have not been publicly out. They give examples. Fordham basketball player Bryson Kavanaugh decided to forego his senior season and the WNBA draft to come out and begin his transition. There are many others they go on to list.

29:19They go on to say three of these trans people have won a national championship. Leah Thomas and swimming, Cece Tefler and track and field, Brayden Abramson and bowling. Several others have earned conference honors that did not belong to them. That were supposed to go to women. As for high schoolers, the University of California, Los Angeles, UCLA School of Law put out these estimates in February 2025. Quote, we estimate that there are as many as one hundred and twenty two thousand one hundred and twenty two thousand transgender youth athletes who could be participating in high school level team athletics right now, ages 13 to 17.

29:59One hundred and twenty two thousand. A United Nations study revealed in October twenty four that trans athletes have won nearly nine hundred medals in women's competition. These wins happened in over 400 competitions in 29 sports. The study concluded that, quote, male athletes have specific attributes considered advantageous in certain sports such as strength and testosterone levels, which are higher than the average range for females, even before puberty. Even before. But especially after. Thereby resulting in the loss of fair opportunity, concluding males must not compete in the female categories of sport.

30:39That is from the United Nations, all right? Not exactly known for their fair and balanced take on any issue. Joining me now to react to all of this is Stu Bergeer. He's the host of Predictable with Stu, which you can find at predictableshow.com. He's also the host of Stu and Dave Do America on Blaze TV. Running a business means you're always searchable until you're not. And we all know that the exact second you miss a call, a text or a follow-up, a competitor is waiting right there to pick it up. That's why I want to tell you about Quo. It's spelled Q-U-O. The business phone system built so you never miss an opportunity.

31:22All of your calls, texts, and voicemails into one single place. That means anyone on your team can jump into a conversation, see the full history, and respond fast. You can set it up in minutes on any device, keep your existing number, and add teammates as you grow. Plus they have a built-in AI agent that handles your after hours calls. So even when your team is completely offline, you are still capturing leads. It also integrates seamlessly with the tools you're probably already using like HubSpot and Claude, which saves you a ton of time and keeps you from constantly chasing information. Money is on the line here.

31:59Say hello with Quo. Try Quo for free. Plus get 20 % off your first six months when you go to Quo, it's Q-U-O, dot com slash M-K. That's Q-U-O dot com slash M-K. Stu, welcome to the show. I'm just, it's like I'm over it. I can tell. I can tell. And you should be over it. These are not controversial issues. We can all pretend that they're controversial issues. We can all have these conversations and treat these things like we're going back and forth about some 50-50 issue. but that's not what this is all people including every coach that you showed including every commentator that we heard from all of them know what the truth is here all of them know that these people who are saying they are women are not women and we all understand that if draw this logical conclusion here megan if if if inclusivity is what they want if they embrace having men play their sport, what we will have is a lack of existence of the WNBA because there will be no women in it.

33:07This isn't a knock on women. Women are incredibly talented and very important in our society, of course. But when you're talking about physical ability like running and jumping and barreling over people, you're talking about a situation where men have certain inherent advantages in those areas. And I have a daughter who is 13 years old. She plays volleyball. She's going to volleyball today. If she shows up there and there's some dude who's 6 '1", who's potentially going to spike the ball at her head, and I'm going to wind up in the hospital watching her being cared for for brain damage, I'm going to pull her off that court, and that's not going to happen.

33:50that is a real danger for uh kids uh you know in in these in these situations and you know that the just the you made about 5 000 points there and megan i agree with literally every single one of them and was taught i did my own show while you were talking and i was off the air coming back and forth so i'm gonna miss a million of them but when when you look at a situation uh like this and you see uh you know someone says something like oh gosh well it's a small percentage I mean, percentage wise, that's true, right? Of course, it is a small percentage of people who will go across this. It's just really not an important thing.

34:24And I will say if it might be one tenth of one percent, I don't know what the percentage is. But if my daughter ends up in the hospital for brain damage, it's 100 % of my life. It's 100 % of what I'm dealing with. It's 100 % of what she's dealing with. And none of these cases that you're talking about are fine to brush off as if it's a small percentage. A small percentage of people murder other people, too. That doesn't mean we allow it. So good. So good. Yes, exactly. And tell to the girl in Massachusetts who got all of her teeth knocked out by a male hockey field hockey player posing as a female.

35:05Imagine him hitting you, hitting your daughter in the face with a field hockey stick with all the power and force of male testosterone behind it. The other girls were so rattled, many burst out into tears having watched it happen. And Massachusetts is exactly the kind of state that would turn around generally and say, you got to take it. You got to take it. You got to be inclusive. That's the same state where the basketball thing happened that I just showed you. And even those players on that team chose to forfeit. They said, we don't, we don't, we just don't care. We are seeing so many schools be forced to forfeit now if they have any desire to protect their young women.

35:45And the reason is our side has been too cowardly. I'm sorry, but we've been too cowardly or we've been too convinced, too brainwashed by the bullies on the other side that it's mean. It's quote mean to say what's real. As somebody wise once explained it to me, being mean is not saying what is true, even if it's hurtful. Meanness is saying something with the intention of hurting another. That's what cruelty is. I'm doing it because I want to hurt you. Therefore, it is not mean to say a man cannot become a woman or it is unfair to have boys and girls sports. That's not mean. It is not mean to look at a child, a boy who says, I think I'm a girl and say, you're not.

36:31And you never will be or can be. It is not mean. It is true. And in fact, it is kind to all involved to stick with reality, not not just the boy trying to get into the sports, but the girls as well. You know, I mean, they need somebody to protect them. And it's just we're not getting it. You know, and I'm like I said, I don't mean to make this all about Caitlin Clark because I admire generally what she's doing. And she's got another host of problems that she's dealing with. But I'm sorry. Can we replay that soundbite of her? I just thought this was you can you can see her terror. You can feel it in the tone and the body language.

37:09Here it is again, as she's asked by the reporter. Kaylin, first time I'm going to speak with you this week. It's sort of straight saying, but the demonstration revolving around trans rights before the game, just how have you and your teammates navigated this conversation that's happening on the outside? For us, like, you know, it's not really a discussion we really have in our locker room. I think it's for leagues and the governing bodies to work with their athletes to find solutions. but our focus is on basketball and that's what we talk about and how we can get wins. And obviously we didn't do that tonight.

37:39So you need to find an area to improve in that way. Do you have any reaction to the... I just answered for you. She wants nothing to do with it, Stu. Nothing to do. She's terrified. No. Yeah, absolutely terrified. I mean, in fact, if you're listening on the audio feed, you might not see this, where she's looking down at a paper. It seems she's handed essentially this statement in the middle of her answering it. She glances over it. Then as she starts to read, she checks the paper again in the middle of reading the answer. And I got to be honest with you, Megan, I really like Caitlin Clark. She's the main reason why I have any interest in the WNBA whatsoever.

38:18I really like watching her play. Generally speaking, I've really liked the way she's handled the controversy she's had to deal with. I mean, she gets elbowed in the face and strangled on court. And they seem, the WNBA seems to be a large plot to murder Caitlin Clark. I don't understand what's happening right now. She is their meal ticket. She's the only reason I think anyone really watches the league as a whole. And I've actually really appreciated the way she's handled most of these controversies. She's done a lot of what you just heard, which is taking the energy and the momentum out of the big controversies.

38:58And when she's being hit, she's being criticized. The racial stuff pops up. She's like, look, that's got nothing to do with me. I'm here to win games. That's the right way to handle almost all of these situations. You've hit on the one exception here, right? This is not the time to take the statement from the team and read it. This is an easy thing. We have to be able, as a society, to recognize basic universal truths. And that's all Sophie Cunningham did. That's all she did. She wasn't critical. She didn't come up with funny names to criticize trans people. She didn't come up with a hilarious joke or a one-liner to make everybody laugh at the trans people.

39:42All she did was say it's important for women and girls to be protected in their locker rooms. That is not a controversial statement. As a father, this is not a controversial idea. This is a basic human thing. We all understand. We all know the truth here. And what we are being asked to do on a day-to-day basis is to not just tolerate a lie, but involve ourselves with that lie. involve ourselves to spread the lie that men can become women with a series of magical words this is not a thing this is not a thing we can have uh empathy for people who are going through this we can talk about i mean you mentioned uh you know and we've talked about this before there are certain issues that have continually been uh recognized by medical authorities as uh you know issues that people are dealing with when it comes to their identity these are can be really serious and difficult for families to deal with.

40:43And I don't, I can't even imagine what it would be like to go through something like that. That being said, we'd have empathy for those people, but we cannot express that empathy by lying to ourselves. We cannot express that empathy by telling people things that are not true and acting as if they are. When you're endangering our girls and in the process of that, endangering little girls and their health. None of this is acceptable, you should be able to say, look, I understand that this is a complicated issue in certain realms. All I can comment on is basketball. And it is really important for girls to have the opportunities to play in this sport that I love so much.

41:22That is not a controversial statement. I understand why she, I mean, look, she wants to avoid it because of everything that's happening in the aftermath of it. I get the PR strategy, but sometimes things are bigger than PR. Yes. Caitlin Clark was sitting there next to her coach of the Indiana Fever, who's also been a scoundrel on this issue, Stephanie White. Listen to her here in SOT 8. What is your stance on men or athletes who test as biological male participating in women's sports? What's your personal stance? Yeah, I mean, I don't know that I would say that I'm educated enough from a scientific standpoint.

41:58I don't ever believe that exclusion is an answer. I just don't. I do think when we think about various levels of sport, various governing bodies of sport and things that go into that, like I said, I'm not educated enough at the different levels. I know growing up I played with the boys all the time. There are girls sports. Would you welcome a biological male in WNBA? Again, I don't know. When we talk about biological male and scientifically where we are, I think it's a totally different scenario. So, you know, as I said, I'm not educated enough in terms of transgender and transitioning to give you a smart answer.

42:44So dishonest. That is so dishonest. First of all, she's not educated enough. Boys have penises. Girls have vaginas. There, I educated you. You got it. Now you understand there is a difference between the two. And that nonsense about I used to play with the boys all the time. Me too. I grew up in the 70s. There were no girls sports. I played with boys all the time in sports leagues and beyond. And then you know what happens? You get to the pubescent level and that stops because even back then they understood that there would be a danger to the girls and playing against the boys past that. That was obvious.

43:14By the way, all the studies now actually do show that there is a male advantage even pre-puberty. I used to be confused about that. But there are advantages that boys have even prior to puberty, but they're very pronounced post-pubescent. And it is very different for her to join a men's pickup game as the only woman. Okay, because she was a star athlete in her own right as a basketball player. It's very different. So she says, can I play with you guys? Can't find any other women. Sure. How are the men going to treat her? They're not going to give it to her the way they give it to each other. They're going to understand she's a woman.

43:43They're going to have respect for her physically. They're going to let her, you know, whatever. They're going to shoot, let her shoot points in a way they might not, a male competitor. They're definitely not going to be as rough on her because most men are not complete cads and would understand when playing against a woman, there are certain things you do and don't do. That is totally different from inviting a man into a woman's league, pretending that he's one of them and saying, have at them still. Oh, gosh, it's so ridiculous. First of all, apparently the Indiana Fever coach would make a great Supreme Court justice because she basically gave the exact same answer as Gataji Brown Jackson, which is amazing.

44:23She's all about inclusivity, in every case about inclusivity. Is that true? She doesn't want to exclude people? Is that true? I mean, there's thousands of women who play basketball who would love to play in the WNBA. Why are they excluded? I don't understand. Oh, I don't know. Is it because the players that are in the WNBA are likely better than them? They're excluding them over merit. They're excluding them over all sorts of different reasons. This happens all the time. Sports, in a grand sense, is very inclusive. People can go out and play. My son and my daughter played on the same basketball team when they were five and six years old.

44:58It wouldn't be appropriate now, necessarily, for them to do that. And, you know, you kind of get this place where, you know, we've been in, you may have noticed occasional controversy around commentary that you've made Megan maybe once or twice. I'm in that same boat. Like, I get that this is our world and this is what we've chosen to do with our lives, say things that are controversial. And some of these people haven't, right? They're in a situation where they don't want to think about that. They don't want to be in the papers. They don't want to be played back on the Megyn Kelly show. And maybe this is what they're doing to avoid those controversies.

45:36But on basic things, you should be able to say, we should be able to say that these things are true and not true. It's not like a, it's not a deep question. These aren't hard calls. This isn't some. Let me tell you something. I agree with you. And I understand, like, I don't, I'm not a fan of showing up at the Olympics and randomly asking every athlete who's there, how do you feel about this issue? Don't do that. that they're there to play sports. This issue has reared its head in women's basketball, right? This is, this has been the main issue that's been discussed now for 10 days, two weeks.

46:11And so it's going to come up. And obviously these coaches do have something that they want to say or telegraph on it because that's clearly what they're doing. All right. So Caitlin Clark had a chance. She had a chance to lead on it and she whiffed and I can relate to her in the following way, made a different decision. But I never wanted any part of like a women's lib. I did not count myself as a feminist. I said many times and I still don't that I don't consider myself a feminist. I said it many times when I was on the air at Fox News and so on. Then the whole thing with Roger Ailes came up and I had zero desire, zero to cloak myself in some sort of feminist cape and go, you know, marching with the Salem people to go find ourselves a witch.

46:57But there's also what's right and what's not right. And I believe me, I had no desire to decide with Gretchen Carlson against Roger Ailes, one of whom I couldn't stand, one of whom I loved. And it would have been very good to me and my career anyway. But I but I did it. Why? Because I was concerned that it might be happening to other girls, other women. I was concerned that there might at least be the chance in the whole story's told been told many times. My point is simply at at certain points, you do have to sacrifice yourself, Caitlin. At certain points, there is something more important that's being asked of you.

47:39And this is her sport. She is the superstar in it. There's not a girl in America playing basketball that does not look up to her, at least not one that hasn't been completely moved by this weird race essentialism happening around her skin color. There was such an opportunity for her to lead and she whiffed it. So I just very disappointed. I want to read you this. There's there's Michael Peters who's on line. He's on our side on this issue and he posted the following yesterday. The fastest female 100 meter sprinter in recorded history is American legend Flojo. She set the world record of 10.49 seconds on July 16th, 1988.

48:25Okay. For running the 100 meter, 10 seconds, basically. In 2026, there were over 1000 high school boys that beat this record. Over 1000 high school boys. You read that correctly. In this year alone, there were over 1000 high school boys that beat the record of the fastest woman in the world ever. If just one of those boys or a meager one 10th of 1 % decided to compete as a woman, he would crush the women's world record. I'm not talking about a high school record, he writes, or college or even Olympic or professional talking about the women's world record that has held since 1988. Remind me again, why you're not supportive of women's rights, completely agree with this.

49:04And then you've got the Clay Travis tweet, which tweet, which I I mentioned, he said, important announcement. I'm upping my offer,$10 million for a head-to-head basketball game between the defending WNBA champs, Las Vegas Aces, and a boys high school state title team of my choice. If the Aces beat my team, I will give them$10 million. It's never going to happen, Stu, because in their hearts, these coaches know exactly what the truth is. They're all just too afraid to say it. yeah and look you know one more thing on caitlin clark like i get that you do what you want to be you want to be uh aside from this controversy but at the very freaking least the thing you could say is this woman sophie cunningham who has defended you and and and pushed people and and fought for you over and over and over again on the court at the very least you could say look i don't want to get in the middle of this controversy but i will say leave sophie alone you know she said didn't say anything wrong.

50:03Stop going after her just as a teammate that she's in the middle of this. She doesn't seem to mind it. And she's going to stand by her values. But like this woman has had your back a thousand times. You should have hers. She she let her twist in the wind. But I mean, at least Sophie Cunningham has got some money. She's stunning. She's obviously very strong. I admire her. But these little girls in Lowell, Massachusetts, they don't have any of that. They needed her. And the girls who came after them need her because Sophie Cunningham is not going to get this done in her sport alone. We have more with Stu Bergeer.

50:40After this, he stays with us for the show. Don't go away. When it comes to supplements, there are two things that matter, that it works and that you can trust it. 52:10We have more to do on that Sophie Cunningham story, but we're going to do it tomorrow because I have other things I want to get to today with Stu. Before we go to the next topic, I want to talk about MK members only with you. It's our new YouTube section for our biggest fans and friends of the show. You can click join at youtube.com slash Megan Kelly now. So go to youtube.com slash Megan Kelly and click join. Super grateful to all of you who have signed up already. The reaction has been so fantastic. Cannot wait to show you all that we have to offer their exclusive Q and A's with yours truly first looks at original content before anyone else sees it and more.

52:49um we are starting over there with our megan kelly live documentary and this is you know we're calling it a behind the scenes look at our tour but it's much more than that it's like it's like a movie it's a four-part series that together strings out an incredible movie of our show the guests who you see most frequently on it um some of the behind the scenes drama that went on on that tour that would wind up spilling out into the national conversation. A lot of the staff whose names you hear every day, you will meet and love just as much as I hope you already do. But I think if you love the show, you're going to love this series.

53:31It's four parts, as I said. And here's just a little snippet on how we make the sausage over here at the show. On our way to San Antonio and I'm reading my packet. This is the research in advance of all of our interviews until they put together all these fun things for me to focus on. I mean, obviously everybody will do it, but this is what they think is worthy of the show. For example, here I have a quote, Rachel Maddow this week, Trump took up parts of the White House law and put up huge flag rules so he could fly novelty-sized American flags. To make it look like it's an RV dealership that's going out of business.

54:05God forbid this snotty bitch is like, RVs, oh, all right. So my team knows exactly what I like. they don't meet very well after all these years. Who would be caught dead at an RV dealership? This is Lauren Labruna. She's a star. She likes to have a producer on the show. Y 'all start to Michelle Obama's thoughts for Victor. What do we have? What's the best one? I do think it's the hair. Let me explain something to white people. We're straightening it to follow your beauty standards. We are trapped. For grievance. Yeah. So that's good for Victor. I'll end Michelle Obama's friend. When I get up in the morning, I wish I had hair.

54:44I wish I had Michelle's hair other than this. We're giving her, like, the most interesting stuff for her to go to air with so that we don't waste anyone's time. And it's like being a chef. You know, these are all my ingredients and I've got them out there. I don't know until the conversation gets started, like, what I'm going to need. Here it is. Hold on. You've got to hear this. Just listen to this sound bite. Here it is in Sot 10. And all these elements start coming together that I wasn't sure exactly what order they were going to be needed in or what discussion I could fold them into. I think I might do the Sydney Sweeney one and the Jennifer Lawrence one.

55:18Oh, do you hit those in the intro? Okay. That intellectual flow of the show where you're like, yeah, this works and the transitions feel relatively seamless, you know, some days better than others. That is one of the reasons why people like the show.

55:39I love my staff and they're a huge part of the success of the program. As you know, are you. I have loved hearing from all of you who have joined the documentary so far. Again, that's just episode one. And episode two, we didn't plan this, but it's extremely timely. We go deep on this whole trans debate and protecting women's spaces. I mean, truly, it's like an in-depth but fair and balanced 60 Minutes episode. this thing. It's like, you will learn a lot about how we got to this level of insanity. You will be reminded of some of our best guests who have helped us over the years get to where we are.

56:22And, um, I think you, you may laugh and cry just as I did and watching it. This episode in particular was, um, kind of emotional to watch. So head on over to youtube.com slash Megan Kelly. Just click join and I'll see you over there. We're going to be doing a Q &A with yours truly soon. And maybe we'll talk about this insanity and hear from all of you directly, especially after episode two posts. So check it out. Okay. I want to get to this epic showdown yesterday on CNN with State of the Union co-host, Dana Bash, battling HHS Secretary RFKJ over COVID. She was out of her league. Here's a bit of how that went.

57:05You have been placing nearly all the blame on the COVID pandemic and the way that the U.S. responded to it squarely with Dr. Fauci. But of course, he worked for President Trump. Does President Trump also deserve some of the blame? Well, you know, President Trump, as you recall, wanted to end the lockdowns. I think the thing that did the most damage to our country was the lockdowns. Well, the lockdowns were done by governors. I mean, certainly Anthony Fauci and the president had opinions, but the lockdowns were done by governors. And largely because they were hearing from hospitals saying that their ICUs were overrun and they needed some help while that was happening.

57:52Well, that's not true. That's just not true. It is true. You're saying it's not true. No, they were doing it because Anthony Fauci was telling them from the top, you need to lock down. There were ICUs that were empty all over the country, including in New York at the height. I mean, she should be embarrassed that that's not even up for debate. Does she not read the news on which she's reporting? Did she not see Fauci's own diary entry that Senator Rand Paul made public last week? He's literally bragging about being responsible for the lockdowns. Here is what he wrote on March 15th, 2020. That was like the first day of the lockdown.

58:31Quote, I spoke with Bill de Blasio. that was the mayor of New York, and convinced him based on what I was saying publicly and my conversation tonight to close the New York City schools. I convinced him. Then he goes on to say he'd already decided based on what I was saying on TV. I went on to tell him he should close the bars and the restaurants in New York City. He said he would base this on my recommendation, and lo and behold, he did. I had a similar call with Anne O 'Leary, the chief of staff of Governor Gavin Newsom of California and said that based on my TV appearances today and yesterday, the governor has decided to close the schools in California as well as the bars and restaurants.

59:12Though, as we would all later find out, the governor would not adhere to his own bans as he dined at French Laundry, scuttling down wine by the barrel. And Dr. Fauci bragged in his diary about texting with this biased anchor, Dana Bash herself. Maybe that's why she's too much of a P word to bring up Fauci's diary entries, but she should at least be reading them because she's in there. Okay. Here's his entry from April 17th, 2021 relating to a Fauci exchange in front of Congress that aired on television with Congressman Jim Jordan. Dana Bash sent me a text. He writes, I just watched the whole Jordan thing.

59:52Again, you're a better man than I, as our friend Wolf Blitzer said to me yesterday, no one would have blamed you if you said simply, Mr. Jordan, go F yourself. I mean, this is like, makes you feel for Chris Licht. Remember Chris Licht, who is the executive producer for the Stephen Colbert show, and they brought him over to run CNN when Jeff Zucker got fired. And he, he, while he had come from Stephen Colbert, his mission, and he understood it, was to try to make CNN a little bit more fair and balanced. They tried to have that Trump town hall, which Caitlin Collins showed up with her nasty, unhappy face and was nasty to Trump in.

1:00:30He did a couple that he tried to make it a little bit more fair and balanced. This is what he was up against. Our friend, Dana and Wolf and Jake Tapper's having dinner with Fauci, exchanging notes on how awful Laura Ingram is. And then now these two, go fuck yourself, Jim Jordan. I mean, truly, Chris Licht, you didn't stand a chance. What happened there was not your fault. Okay. It didn't stop there yesterday. Dana Bash decided it would be a good idea to challenge Kennedy on censorship. Oh my God. That's like, this is such a pretty shark. I wonder what would happen if I stuck my bloody hand in the water.

1:01:08Let's see. Look, it's such a pretty, pretty great white shark. Does he respond to blood? Let's see. Here she is challenging Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on censorship during COVID, as well as the efficacy of the vaccine when it comes to children. How do you prepare for the next pandemic? The principal thing that we need to do is we need to listen to what's happening to doctors on the ground. The other thing that I would say is that we need to protect our constitutional rights, that that is the primary obligation. What does that mean? Well, during COVID, we completely dismantled our constitutional rights.

1:01:52Doctors who were saying you're doing it wrong were being marginalized and vilified. And because because, again, I really want to move on. But yeah, you were saying you were part of the problem. No, I wasn't. It was absolute absolute press malpractice. You weren't allowing your job. Your job is a fierce skepticism toward authority. And you weren't doing that. You were beating up on people who were dissenting. No. Okay. Are you going to, you want to sit here and attack me? Or do you want to have conversations about public health? I'm not attacking you. I also don't want to use this interview to allow you to say things that aren't entirely true.

1:02:35You're talking about therapeutics. fine. It is also factually true that the COVID vaccine worked. The cases in the U.S. Do you think the COVID vaccine protected children? I think that what I have talked to scientists and doctors about. Can you look, can you show me one study? Yes, I can. That shows that children were protected by the COVID vaccine. I can tell you that there are. That vaccine did more good than harm to children. Can you show me one study that shows that? I can tell you that when it comes to the vaccine, there have been studies that show that because of vaccine disinformation, disinformation, there could have been 100 to 200 ,000 lives in the U.S.

1:03:18saved. You are saying nonsense. You are saying something that you cannot show me. A single study. I am not saying nonsense. You're talking nonsense. You're making assertions you can't support. And then when I call you on them, you're telling me that I'm arguing. OK, do you want to? I am not saying that the entire way that the covid reaction was accurate. It was a scary time and people made mistakes. Absolutely. You were scaring people. Why are you saying that? Because that was the job of CNN. OK.

1:03:52Here's OK. Adam Carolla put it best. He tweeted this out. Remember, they are not defending Fauci for lying. They are defending themselves for lying. That's exactly right. They are not defending Fauci for lying. They are defending themselves for lying. Here's a reminder of how Dana Bash interviewed government officials at the height of the pandemic in December 2020. You are seen to many as a superhero, but you are a human being and you've been working nonstop since all of this began, communicating with the public, trying to get a handle on this pandemic in terms of the science. So how do you keep yourself going in the face of all of this death and disease?

1:04:36You know, Donnie, Dana, it's really just focusing on the enormity of the problem and the fact that I do have a role in the response to this problem. You don't have time for feeling sorry for yourself that you're tired or that you feel like you just got to suck it up as it were. I use that because that's what it feels like sometime. We appreciate your service. Happy birthday to you. And you've got a lot of work ahead in the Biden administration in 2021 and beyond. Thank you, Dr. Fauci. Thank you, Dana, for having me. Appreciate it. Superhero. And here she is. Look at this. After then newly elected Joe Biden's first press conference on COVID in January 2021.

1:05:20Watch this. Take what you just saw and heard in totality. Anybody who has any connection to reality about what is going on around them should have watched that and said, the adults are back in the room. It wasn't your fault, Chris Licht.

1:05:43Oh, Stu Bergeer, host of Predictable, is still with us. Stu, she was outclassed, outmatched, and didn't know what she was talking about. I mean, he said it so well. You, quote, trusted the experts. And those experts were actively silencing brilliant doctors who got it right. And now your response when I'm sitting here raising that issue is to say, we need to trust the experts here. I have new experts who are saying you're wrong again. Like they don't learn. They, they, they will not ever learn. No, that's, I think that's how they keep their jobs. It might be the number one job requirement is to not learn.

1:06:30You know, look, she's right that it was a scary time at the beginning in particular. I mean, lots of people said all sorts of things at the beginning of that and that they maybe look back. I think even the president at times, he mentions the criticism of the president, which of course, this has to come back to criticism of Donald Trump as the first question of the CNN mouth, which is hilarious because if RFK Jr. were still running against Trump, the questions would be the same. They'd still be about criticizing Donald Trump. But RFK Jr. is part of the administration. Does Donald Trump deserve some criticism over the way that it was handled?

1:07:06Well, I think that's fair, right? I think it's fair to look at his role in that a little bit. At the very beginning, I think, you know, there was a lot of fear and people made decisions that were, I think, wrong. And I think it's probably sane to have some grace for that at the very beginning of it. As you go forward, though, you have to be able to take responsibility for your actions. And, you know, what RFK Jr. said there that I think is the most important part about it is we have to protect our constitutional rights. the reason we have a constitution is for moments like 2020, right? That you don't need a constitution when everything's going great and the stock market's at all time highs and everyone's got jobs.

1:07:46Everything's wonderful. You need the constitution for those moments where everything seems chaotic and you're terrified of it. And it's like in those moments, how, what decisions do you make? Do you make a decision to remove the ability for people to go to church? Is that the decision that you make? Do you make a decision to remove the ability for people to go to school, for kids to go to school, for people to go to work, for people to be able to keep their businesses open? If you're in that moment where things are admittedly difficult and what you fall back on is fear and, well, that expert said this, well, you know what?

1:08:25As a public official, it is not your job to just listen to experts and do what they do. Because if that was the way this thing worked, we'd just elect all the experts. There are people who want a technocratic society in which we don't vote for our representatives. We just have a panel of smart people who make all the decisions for us. That is not the way the country is constructed. We have a constitution that is very, very clear here. I mean, the First Amendment guarantees your right to express your religion. I remember at that time, my mom, who was living in Georgia at the time, and the churches were all closing.

1:09:02She was talking about friends who lived in other states where they weren't even allowing them to go to church, where churches would try to open their doors for Sunday services and they would be prevented. We know the stories of people looking out the window and watching their loved ones for the final time as they died inside of a hospital bed through a window with no physical contact, no final hug, no final kiss, none of it. all that was deleted for the society while we watched uh you know left-wing groups and uh you know politicians able to attend their loved ones funerals we watched them uh be able to have their rallies and their gatherings she shares none of our outrage like she looks at all that and was like yeah that's fine i don't i don't mind she's probably one of the ones secretly going to the dinner parties along with jake tapper and fauci and gavin newsom and i'm sure bill de blasio was probably doing it too.

1:09:54Here, here was another great exchange. This one was especially great because he, RFK, we, we had him on, you know, I mean, the audience knows we were, we, we were the show that resurrected RFKJ from the, from the political deathbed. He was banned everywhere and we put him on and it was this great long multiple hour event. And we had to challenge him on virtually everything he said in order to get it to live in all platforms. And it worked. And it was his first step back. And I genuinely think he wouldn't be HHS secretary right now if that whole event hadn't happened. Because he did very well. And all you really need to do is listen to him.

1:10:36Give him a chance to explain himself and back up his positions. You might not be convinced of every single one, but you would not walk away thinking this guy's a nutcase, which is what he was being painted as. Okay, so anyway, she made the mistake. Oh, so I was going to say, in part two of that interview, which is still on our YouTube feed, we talked about being a Kennedy, growing up Kennedy, you know, as the nephew of the president, he's the son of, you know, the attorney general, and the probable president at one point, his dad, RFK, and we talked about what it was like to be a Kennedy. He talked about how at the dinner table, they had to read that day three newspaper articles and be prepared to present on those newspaper articles like they practice oral advocacy at the table and they understood full well in that family the importance of being in a strong order the value of the press uh and what the press's job is and so on and he spits it out here listen i'm gonna let you guys hear it for yourself from his mouth.

1:11:37And I just couldn't, I couldn't agree more with it in this exchange over vaccines. Do you want people to get the MMR vaccine? Yeah, I said that already. Okay. So I know you're flustered now and it is. I don't, I'm not flustered at all. I am frustrated. You are the HHS secretary and you are talking about things that, that, that lead to vaccine hesitancy in this country. Let me ask you something. Do you see your job as ending vaccine hesitancy or do you see your job as telling the truth to the American people? I see my job as telling the truth. And the truth is that there is is study after study after study.

1:12:21It's one of the most studied things out there in science. You're repeating it like a parrot. You're repeating it like a parrot. So I've actually read the science. Let's you come back here and debate the science. I'm not debating this. Of course you know how to do is repeat things that people told you and say, trust the experts. That's what you did during COVID. So now you're rolling out the experts again to talk about something that you have no personal knowledge of. Okay. Well, guess what? That is my job to talk to people. Your job is to talk. Yes. Yes. And my job is to get as much information as I can.

1:13:01And what we were doing in COVID and still with regard to these vaccines is getting the best information, the best science that we can and putting it out there. Your job is to maintain a posture of furious skepticism of government authority. Furious or fierce. I'm not sure what he actually said, but I totally agree. Fierce skepticism of government authority. Totally absent from CNN's coverage of the COVID debacle. And you'd think, you know, once bitten twice shy that now in an exchange with RFKJ who had it right, you'd be a little humble still. Nope. No. She was so meandering and such a lightweight in that whole discussion.

1:13:50My God, like, so are you. So are you. My my job is to talk to people. No. What are you what are you saying? You're not a talk show host. Your job is to conduct an interview where you have to be armed with facts to challenge your guest. If it is a government official or a health official trying to push something as controversial as a lockdown so that your audience walks away understanding what the weaknesses are in their position. What the F? Why am I having to explain this to her? Yeah, it's amazing. I mean, I've watched you do dozens of interviews with people that you kind of knew going in that you disagree with, but were kind of experts in what they believed, right?

1:14:30People who are well-versed in what they believed. RFK Jr. certainly is in that category. but like when you're a host of a show when you're bringing on someone like that who really knows their stuff in that area right whether you agree with it or not you have to be incredibly highly prepared to do an interview like that that's not when you walk in 15 minutes it's exhausting right it's really hard right and because it's not your life on a day-to-day basis getting yourself as a host into a position where you can actually do a good job at an interview like that is difficult, right? It's really hard to do that.

1:15:05It takes a lot of legwork. And honestly, it seemed like she took the day off, frankly, when she was supposed to be preparing for this. You know, RFK Jr., I really agree with him on some things and not on others. Honestly, I'm not the biggest RFK Jr. fan in the world. And a part of that goes back to when I used to hear him, I think, use a lot of the tactics that Dana Bash uses and CNN uses when it comes to the topic of global warming. He was constantly appealing to authority. He was constantly saying, well, just trust the expert. He is a Democrat at heart. He is a Democrat at heart. But what I will give him real credit for is the same thing kind of that you talked about in the first hour of the show, Megan.

1:15:43You know, people go and they, like, take out this clip of you in 2018 saying something you don't currently agree with. What did you do in that period? You looked closer at the information. You grew. You learned. And because of that information, you changed your mind. I think the same thing happened to some degree with RFK Jr. You talked about this a little bit in your interview that I remember in that there was a change in him. He was hit in the face with governments and a government power, aligning with experts and telling people what they should and shouldn't do with their lives during COVID.

1:16:16He was on the opposite side of where it was with global warming. Back in the day, he was saying when you if you didn't agree with the government position on global warming, you should be you might be accused of treason. That was his position. That's right. He's changed on that position because he grew and he learned and he understood that the situation changed. That's something to be lauded. And while I don't agree with him on everything, that is a really, really important lesson all of us can learn. And he deserves credit for it. So to me, this is like that whole exchange is not about vaccines and it's not about RFKJ.

1:16:49It is about media bias. It's just that they're not going to change. They're not going to learn. they've learned nothing they think about it stew like i do all the time look at my own positions and say is that correct was i right on that do i need to rethink that is there new information i that i feel like that's a daily exercise for me because i hate being wrong so i'd love to be less wrong tomorrow than i was yesterday is my general philosophy like to consider myself a learn it all instead of a know-it-all. And it's the opposite for them. They have it all figured out. They had it all figured out just as soon as they were given the Democratic Party playbook at a very young age.

1:17:35They're just going to stick to what's in there. And it doesn't matter what catastrophe befalls the country or the world as a result of their wrong-headed talking points that they've been allowing unchallenged or spewing themselves. They are on Team Blue and they will not deviate from Team Blue no matter what. It's like, that's why they didn't cover Joe Biden's diminishing mental faculties. That's why they're still pushing all the nonsense about how there's absolutely nothing controversial about the vaccines, which have killed people. They have killed Americans, including teenagers. So fuck you, Dana Bash, for not knowing that and at least acknowledging that there are still families grieving over what those vaccines did in too many cases.

1:18:24It's just, we're never gonna change them, you know? I mean, I guess people already know that, but every once in a while, somebody does something where it smacks you right in the face and you're like, whoa, okay, they're just as dug in as ever. Yeah, and, you know, first of all, I hope that we have the same look back situation that we're having right now on the Fauci stuff with the President Biden and his mental capacity side of this. We really need the same level of attention that we're getting right now with people like Iran Paul, who has just been an absolute bulldog on this from the beginning and has not given up.

1:18:59And without someone like him, I really don't think anyone would be held accountable to this. He really has led the charge on making sure in the government, at least, that people are held accountable. I hope that we find another bulldog in the government who does the exact same thing on Joe Biden. We can't just let it go that we didn't have a president for multiple years. This is a really, really important thing that you mentioned, and I want to make sure that we hit on that. But I think you also, Megan, hit on something really important, and it comes kind of like one of the greatest things about doing what you do and what I do at some degree.

1:19:35And, you know, I kind of started in the world of talk radio and it applies to podcasting as well. You know, you're always going to have idiots out there on social media. You mentioned a bunch of them in hour one. But part of that process is not only the idiots on social media, but also your audience. When you're doing a podcast, especially one of the size that you have, your audience is so great because they will hold you accountable every single time. They will listen to you talk about a story over and over and over again. And if you become inconsistent on it, they will challenge you in a comprehensive, but also a way to not be condescending or mean like they are on the internet, but just trying to say, hey, wait a minute.

1:20:17That's what you said there. You said this two weeks ago, and I don't think those two things make sense together. And it's a great way to be able to challenge yourself constantly. Your audience is always there to kind of push you and make sure you believe something and that you've actually thought it out. And, you know, you came out of the gate today super fired up about the Sophie Cunningham thing and everything else. And, you know, I find that stuff really irritating at times, but I love how it pushes me. I love how it challenges me. It makes me, at times, stronger and stronger in the position that I have.

1:20:51I don't feel like I need to hold back at all because I've been challenged by people who are actually coming at me, sometimes with real kindness, but sometimes with real anger. Whatever it is, you're pushed all the time, and it's the opposite with the media. They are never put in a position where they are challenged. They are never put in a position where they have to answer tough question after tough question after tough question, like you saw in that RFK Jr. That's why she seems so out of sorts. It's like she used to play tennis in high school and is now in Wimbledon. It doesn't make any sense to them.

1:21:24They're not used to it. And I think you saw it in that clip. No, it was like she played baseball in high school and now was at Wimbledon. I mean, it was like a completely different sport to her. She was so clueless. She didn't know what to do. She's not used to being challenged by anybody. and she does not have the intellectual rigor required to do intellectual battle with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Trust me, that is not a fool's errand. You need to prepare. You need to actually prepare and have your studies. I mean, we were ready. We did our part. Half the time I was challenging him, it wasn't necessarily stuff I agreed with, but I knew it was my job to raise what his critics were saying, and I was never going to get him on the air without censorship if I didn't.

1:22:09and we succeeded. He couldn't believe it. He and I were texting after the fact, like, oh my God, we got it on Facebook. We got it on TikTok. We got it on Snap. We got it on YouTube. We got it on Twitter. I mean, that was back in, you know, before Elon had purchased Twitter. So anyway, on the subject of they'll never change. This is last Wednesday, Lawrence O'Donnell on MS. Now Watch this. There is no higher calling than saving lives. There is nothing we could ever do more important than saving a single life. And most of us will never know that feeling of saving a life. And all of us owe our gratitude to Anthony Fauci.

1:22:52And many of us may owe our lives to Anthony Fauci. And Anthony Fauci owes nothing to Republicans in the United States Senate. he does not owe them an answer to a single question his the listening audience his screen next to him reads i love you tony still it's a lost cause i love it i just does he think that you and i saved lives when we expressed any skepticism over the vaccine being given to teenage boys is tomorrow night's episode going to be about you and me i i look forward to him expressing his love for me because i did a lot of episodes about that larry where's my love letter it's not coming it's not coming and also he's creepy enough that you probably don't want it um but it's this bizarre i think you know you mentioned the adam carolla uh tweet earlier which really yes drills into this isn't that good yes it's so it's so true it's not and this is very human by the way you know like they took a stand they went on television night after night i'm just gonna read it one more time remember they are not defending fauci for lying they are defending themselves for lying yeah it's true because they took responsibility they told everybody that you had to listen to this guy he had all the answers over and over and over and over again and fundamentally if it's proven uh that that the opposite is true that we and we've seen this happen through the emails and through the diaries that this man was lying.

1:24:30And I think quite clearly, despite whatever you think about the vaccine, committed a crime when he tried to convince other people to delete emails that were records that should have been kept by the government. He was a government official encouraging people to delete emails. That is a crime. Now, look, he got a pardon from Joe Biden. I don't know if there's anything we can do about it. I don't think it's a great thing for the country. I kind of wish it would go away at this point. I think it gets manipulated by both sides and misused by both sides. But it is part of our system. And I, unlike a lot of the people on CNN, respect the Constitution enough to deal with that and deal with the realities it brings to us.

1:25:08But that being said, like, that was a crime. This is a man who was not only wrong about a lot of things, was lying to us, was trying to manipulate us to do certain things that he believed were wrong at the time. He's even admitted to that. He said, look, we didn't have enough masks. So I told everyone not to wear masks. How can that possibly be a person who has a segment that says he hasn't explained most of the lies, but we don't need him to admit to most of the lies because they're just they're obvious playing his nose on your face when you see what he said publicly next to what he wrote in his diary.

1:25:40So it's like it's amazing. It's amazing. Like it's all about team, what team jersey you have on for them. I can honestly say it is not that way for me. It never has been. It's why I'm, you know, getting in so much trouble all the time. I just I'm not going to wear anybody's team jersey. I'm just not going to do it. And they have a very different philosophy over at CNN. All right. Stand by. We have got to get to what's happening with this mom, Donnie tax on the rich and the people who voted for him and were like, yes, yes, do it. Who now realize the lion's eating them first. It's so fun. It's next with Stupro Gear.

So check it out. Stu Bergeer remains my guest.

1:30:46Great to see you. All right. So, Stu, this is the story. Mayor Mamdani, who is a socialist, shock, shock, is doing socialist things. But it's how he's doing them that is really upsetting the libs. All right. Now, I just want to make sure that we explain to the audience. So on July 24th, in an ex post, he posted the following. If you have a second home in New York City worth more than$5 million. Check your mailbox when you're back in the five boroughs because you've got mail. Today, we sent notification letters to property owners, letting them know that our new pied-a-terre tax is coming soon. The best city in the world deserves the best parks, libraries, and schools in the world.

1:31:33That's only possible when we all pay our fair share because, you know, the millionaires of New York are not paying their fair share. Sure. Sure. By the way, I just want you to know, um, because I mean, it truly, it is bullshit. Like the amount that they pay, um, this guy is running for comptroller of New York. And he said, I looked into who's really paying our taxes in New York. And, uh, he said 0.2 % of all businesses filing in New York, which is just about 800 corporations carry 74 % of the entire corporate tax burden. And he said, um, 99 ,000 millionaires, well under 1 % of taxpayers cover 44.6 % of all income tax collected.

1:32:21And then he said the top 200 individuals alone pay 5.5 billion to the state annually. New York state relies on roughly 100 ,000 people. New York state relies on roughly 100 ,000 people to fund its entire budget, he says, the entire budget. He says our tax base, they're walking out the door. They're walking out the door. 176 ,000 high earners left between 2018 and 2023, taking$50 billion in income with them. I was one of them. Bye. Your crazy woke policies, your defunding of the police. I left. Connecticut's not exactly a red state, but it's actually slightly more sane than New York. Okay, so enter Mom Donnie, who's like drooling over these pied-a-terre taxes.

1:33:06They're so excited to tax people who have a second residence in New York. Scott Galloway, who's been on this program, but he co-hosts with the terrible Kara Swisher, that other terrible podcast that they do together. And he was totally supportive of Mom Donnie and really, really, really believed that that lion would eat him last, Stu. And yet what Mom Donnie did last week has him rethinking his support. Mom Donnie published a searchable database identifying affluent property owners who could be the subject of his new wealth tax. He lists their names and addresses, which is effing insane. And that's why many of us didn't vote for Mom Donnie or didn't support him in that campaign.

1:33:56Here is Scott Galloway realizing what he's done to himself. And I've been doxed. You've been doxed? What? Tell me. So, I don't know if you've heard, but Mayor Momdani has decided to release a list of the 950 ,000 residences with addresses and names that might be eligible for his pied -à-terre tax. I'm a fan of this tax. I was supportive of it. rich absenteeism should subsidize a nurse in the Bronx paying 40 % of her income on rent. I came out in favor of this tax. This is the definition. He's taken a legitimate source of tax revenue and he's turned it into a wanted poster. And the question I would have is, other than trying to identify and imply these people have done something wrong, And then 18 months after a healthcare CEO was executed in the street and then published the list.

1:34:53What, what is the upside here? Why is he doing this? He's implying we've done something wrong because we're successful. Right. No, I agree. New York is the, New York is the, the last place you want to demonize success. Yeah. The reason people moved in New York is they think I want to be successful on Broadway. I want to be successful in business. I want to be successful in the arts and no one's going to get in my way if I'm really talented and work hard. We're going to celebrate it. We're not going to we're not going to put a big R on your door and say you've done something wrong because you're successful.

1:35:27I don't think Scott Galloway was paying attention, Stu Bergier, when Mayor Momdani wasn't mayor, because many of us knew exactly that what he was going to do, that he couldn't stand the rich. and scott galloway's problem is that he underestimated the extent of mom donnie's hatred for the wealthy class yeah uh this is real with mom donnie this you know a lot of people say a lot of things about oh gosh these rich people they're they're they need to pay their fair share there's a little a lot of lip service that goes on to that with with some even on the left mom donnie's a true believer though the reason why this got released in this way is because he does want to make these people the victims or the the targets he does want them to be the people who he this is this is really what his belief system is he believes these people are bad and he wants them torn down now to separate the fact that he came from a situation he grew up wealthy and he had every benefit that anyone could have in his home country and he came over here and now he's targeting people very important to mention what happened with the health care ceo being executed in the streets.

1:36:40You know, you know, you're a prominent person. You lived in New York. You go through great extent to make sure that it isn't public what your exact address is, right? You know, I remember back in the day when we were working in New York, there was the Gawker Stalker website that came out, which was a now defunct website that actually would just publish people's current space. They're walking down the street and they would just be like, hey, this famous person was just seen on this block. And they would do it constantly. And people were like, what the heck? Like, we have security. We have to up our security now because people are constantly coming up to us.

1:37:17You never know when someone's going to have bad intent. To put people's addresses in docks, hundreds of thousands of people, which, by the way, hundreds of thousands of people will not be actually paying this particular tax. I've talked to two people in New York that I know that are friends of mine that both got these letters and were both on all these websites. one of which has an apartment that's not even close to$5 million, and this tax would not apply to them. The other one has a very nice apartment, but is also their only residence. This is where they live. They don't have a second home, so they would not qualify, yet they're still tossed out here.

1:37:54This is basically, here's a bunch of rich people you should go harass. And that is fundamentally part of the Mamdani ideology, And what makes him so dangerous, Megan, is it's not the AOC approach. It's not the Bernie Sanders approach, which was an angry, fist-shaking, finger-pointing version of socialism. He's socialism with a smile. El-Sayed's trying to do the same thing in Michigan and trying to get through that primary here tomorrow on the same approach, which is say all these things, hide what you're really going to do at the biggest extremes, say the most popular things that people like to hear.

1:38:38Like, we're going to lower your grocery prices by 30%. Say those things publicly. Say it with a smile. Never get angry. Never yell. Never scream. They've understood that that is something that the American people repel from. But when we're not a policy-based society anymore, we're not a society that's well-read, we're not the society that Ben Franklin said could protect a republic, We're not doing a lot of those basic fundamentals anymore. And so people get fooled by the smile. They get fooled by the feel goodery. And they put people like this in power who are incredibly dangerous. Momdani is a massive danger to not only that city, but our entire country.

1:39:20Yeah, it is not safe for most of the people who have been outed to have their home address outed on a public website and called attention to by the mayor. It is effed up. I mean, I don't have any disagreement with that point. It's just, hey, you voted for it. You voted for it. You I guess you didn't glean how much he hated the rich by him talking about how there shouldn't be billionaires. And he was going to try to do something about it. Good Lord. Sounds like he's actually trying to cause them physical violence to get rid of them. I mean, what would you do differently if you wanted that? It's really crazy.

1:39:55I cannot imagine because he's out of the addresses by name of Woody Allen, Anna Wintour, Cynthia Nixon, who works for him. Like, it's it's really effed up and he's not going to be paying for their security. So that's I feel for them. But I also feel like if you voted for him, you made your own bed because he didn't keep it a secret what he was about. Now, by the way, he wants to do this like government-owned grocery store, right? And it's going to put all the local businesses out of business because it's all subsidized by the government. And they're not going to be able to compete with these government subsidized prices.

1:40:31And he doesn't care. He wants them all to go out of business. But the word is out today that he's going to require people to show ID in order to shop there to prove that they're New York City residents. So I thought I was reliably informed, Stu, that that is racist and that black people are not able to get IDs by his party. OK, so which is it? Pick a lane. It's so predictable and ridiculous. It's amazing. The idea that, you know, again, the one thing they don't care about is is voting that you should just be able to walk in. There's a big story in I think it was Politico this weekend that was saying in New Jersey, the the motor voter idea that they they have implemented there is essentially the honor system to register to vote.

1:41:21That is Politico writing about that. This is all real. And they continue to go down this road. Obviously, the idea of this grocery store is insane. And you're right. If you have a grocery store, you've built it with your own money. You're now paying taxes to the government who's using that money to fund your competition. It is absolutely insane. To put you out of business. Yeah. It's amazing. For all these years, we've been told that we cannot have a mandate of showing your ID when you register to vote or when you go to vote because it's racist and minorities can't do it. They don't live near a Kinko's, etc.

1:41:55But if you're in New York City, it's fine to get into the grocery store. somehow you can show to the grocery store, but then pretend you magically weren't able to do it when you have to go to vote. I'm not sure how the logic works. I just know it's leftist and they'll stick to it. Stubergeer, a pleasure. Tomorrow, Matt Taibbi. See you then. Thanks for listening to The Megyn Kelly Show. No BS, no agenda, and no fear.
