In short
The episode argues that Fox News (called “state regime media”) is collapsing by exposing contradictions in support for Trump and related military actions. Key claim: Pete Hegseth admitted he watched and oversaw a strike on a fishing boat after which survivors were killed, and Fox tries to pivot away from that with unrelated culture-war segments.
Notable examples
Fox discusses Melania Trump “saving Christmas” despite clips saying she “effing hates Christmas” and ornaments; hosts and guests frame feminism/secularism as “communism.” Another example: Fox defenders dismiss questions about “no survivors” legality and cite “law of armed conflict.” Guests include Ryan Reynolds (ad sponsor), and multiple MAGA figures on Fox: Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy (via wife), Rep. John Rose, Sen. Schmidt, Rep. Carlos Jimenez, Sen. Scott Fitzgerald, Caroline Levitt, Rep. Greg Murphy. They also discuss pardoning Juan Orlando Hernandez, asylum pauses, Venezuela invasion rhetoric, and deportations.

1:57Ben Meiselas:State regime media, which calls itself Fox News, is collapsing on air as the Midas Touch network has surface clips from Fox, from state regime media, which included Pete Hegseth the day after the strikes on the fishing boat where the order was given to kill the survivors, where Hegseth admits that he was watching the whole thing and he was the person overseeing the operation. Let me show you what Hegseth said before doing that. A reminder, make sure you subscribe right now to this YouTube channel if you like our fact-based reporting and how the Midas Touch Network comes with receipts. Here's what Hegsett said.
2:40Ben Meiselas:Play this clip. So the president is sending a message to other cartels, right? A very clear one. I can tell you that was definitely not artificial intelligence. I watched it live. We knew exactly who was in that boat. We knew exactly what they were doing and we knew exactly who they represented. And that was Trendy Aragway, a narco-terrorist organization designated by the United States trying to poison our country with illicit drugs. So while Hegseth and Trump are now trying to throw the Admiral and SEAL Team 6 and others at the Department of Defense and United States military under the bus, we've got you on tape, Hegseth.
3:20Ben Meiselas:So what was Fox doing now to try to cover up all of this? Like, how are they trying to distract. Well, they start talking about how Melania Trump is saving Christmas. I kid you not. They're like, she says, Merry Christmas again. Here, play this clip. I'm so glad you brought up spiritual because my points are sort of disparate, but they're connected under the umbrella that I see. We are under spiritual warfare. And I see, to your point about just following the Portland block with then seeing this, seeing the first lady of the United States supporting our troops saying Merry Christmas and being constantly a prism of love and light, which is what Jesus Christ is, which is what Judeo-Christianity is, which is what this country is.
4:04And now we have a first lady that fearlessly and undeniably stands for those values. She is beautiful inside and out and everything she does and touches reflects that. I love.
4:16Ben Meiselas:By the way, don't we have clips of Melania saying that she effing hates Christmas and she effing hates the... She's like, I effing hate it. I hate the ornaments. I hate this. Words to that effect. Here's what she said. Here, play this clip. They say I'm complicit. I'm the same like him. I support him. I don't say enough. I don't do enough. No. Where I am, I put the... I'm working like a... I know. Christmas stuff that, you know, who gives a f*** about Christmas stuff and decoration, but I need to do it, right? Yeah, but... 100 % you have no choice. And okay. And then I do it. And I say that I'm working on Christmas, planning for the Christmas.
4:56And they said, oh, what about the children that they were separated? Give me a break. Where they were saying anything when Obama did that. I know. I cannot go. I was trying to get the kid reunited with the mom. I didn't have a chance. Needs to go through the process and through the law. But here's my thing. hear what you just said but instead of that if if you just your messaging you you were so loved they would not do the story we put it out they would not do the story i'm telling you would not believe it they would not do the story because no they are not they would not do the story because they are they are they are against us because they're liberal media yeah if i go to fox they will do the story.
5:48I don't want to go to Fox.
5:50Ben Meiselas:And then you have transportation, transportation secretary, Sean Duffy. His wife is a Fox host and she's like, look, feminism, secularism, this is communism and they're taking over. You see what they're doing here to try to distract and deflect your play this clip Christmas. And I think it's really up to us to reclaim our culture. We can sit and complain about it, but when we give in to those atheist groups that keep suing, we should come right back. This is our culture. I'm not going to let, you know, pro-Palestinian or whatever they're putting forward. These are all fronts for, you know, whenever you see any of these groups, just think feminism, secularism.
6:32Just think communism. This is what they're really about. It's always been about communism, making the state the center, removing the power of religion and family from our culture. And it's up to us to make sure that our culture remains what it is, which is a Western Christian culture with the beautiful history that we have in this country, and that we have to defend these things every single day, especially with our children. So without your nativity scenes, don't give in. Absolutely.
7:02Ben Meiselas:And then you have people like this MAGA Republican Congress member, John Rose. He shows up and he's like, but the economy's booming. We're doing great. And next year, it's going to get even better. Here, play this clip. Costs, the cost of living are coming down. This Thanksgiving was less expensive than last Thanksgiving. So we just have to have the patience to see these policies through to fruition. We're starting to see that happen. And when we get to January 1st and we see many of the one big, beautiful law tax cuts start to come into play in a more real way for Americans, I think they're going to start to see the real hit in their pocketbook.
7:41Ben Meiselas:And we see wages up in a dramatic way for the first time in a generation and since the last time when Trump was in office. So I think the answer is on the way. So state regime media's reporters who were in the press briefing yesterday, they were just trying to like figure out how are they even going to deal with this? So you'll watch one of the Fox hosts right here saying, you claim that the admiral ordering the strikes on the survivors is lawful. Like what law are you referring to? Here, play this clip. Jack. Thank you, Caroline. Following from Gabe's question, you said that the follow-up strike was lawful.
8:25What law is it that allows no survivors? The strike conducted on September 2nd was conducted in self-defense to protect Americans in vital United States interests. The strike was conducted in international waters and in accordance with the law of armed conflict.
8:40Ben Meiselas:If you're like me, instead of learning to skateboard, you wish you were learning to write code. And then that reporter asked another question, the Fox reporter, and she's like, so, you know, you have all of these Republicans out there defending the strikes on narco terrorists, but then purported narco terrorists, and now you're pardoning a convicted drug trafficker who was one of the ringleaders of the biggest narco terrorist ring. The former president of Honduras Juan Orlando Hernandez. So don't you think this hurts Republicans? Here, play this clip. Conflict. On this pardon for the Honduran president, does it at all undercut the administration's messaging while you have these congressional Republicans defending the strikes on the narco-terrorists and then a pardon for a convicted drug trafficker?
11:25Does that make it more difficult for your members to defend your administration's policy? I don't think so, Jackie. I think think that President Trump has been quite clear in his defense of the United States homeland to stop these illegal narcotics from coming to our borders, whether that's by land or by sea. And he's also made it quite clear that he wants to correct the wrongs of the weaponized Justice Department under the previous administration. And Ouija, I'll call on you because I think we're wearing matching blazers today. Yeah.
11:55Ben Meiselas:And again, just a reminder, make sure you hit subscribe to this YouTube channel right now. We're trying to hit six million subscribers. You may think you're subscribed, but you may not be subscribed. So just double check. Let's take a look at what MAGA Republican Senator Schmidt says on Fox as well. And he goes, what the language that we hear from these democratic Congress members and senators who are talking about how you shouldn't follow unlawful orders. This isn't democracy. He goes, this is the language of a color revolution. The Democrats are launching a revolution against us here. Play this clip.
12:27one of the crazy things that happened over the weekend, the Democrats, elected Democrats, not some online troll, elected Democrats have been saying it's OK to disobey orders. That's the first step. But what we saw happen this weekend through some of those same elected officials was to say basically to military men and women, look out, you might get prosecuted. This is not the language of we'll beat them in the next election or we'll win the argument. This is the language of a color revolution where you're calling on military men and women to disobey orders. And you put that on top of the firebombing of Tesla dealerships, the riots you see in the streets, the prosecution of a political opponent.
13:08The Democrats have completely lost the plot here. And the American people, I think, see that. But it's a very dangerous road to go down here to say you should be disobeying orders because we don't like Trump.
13:17Ben Meiselas:And then more of Senator Schmidt on Fox right here saying the Democrats suffer from suicidal empathy and empathy is bad. It's suicide. Here, play this clip. So first of all, talk to me about the Democrat pushback on this asylum pause, this potential pause. Yeah, I mean, this is what suicidal empathy really looks like. This is not an abstraction. This is a case now, two cases, where this open borders policy, no vetting under the auspices of humanitarian parole, which is what Joe Biden did to let tens of thousands of Afghanis in here without any vetting. right? And earlier in the day, state regime media, which calls itself Fox brought on MAGA Republican Congress member, Carlos Jimenez.
14:07Ben Meiselas:And he's just lying, look, look, what are we supposed to do here? I'm not sure why I'm doing that accent. It's not even close to what he sounds like, but why, why do we as MAGA, why should we be doing any oversight? Look, Hegseth said he had nothing to do with it. Donald Trump said he had nothing to do with it. Let's just believe them, right? What's our job? Your job in Congress is quite literally oversight. Here, play this clip right here. Congressman, there are now growing calls for an oversight hearing, an investigation. Your thoughts on this? Look, it just seems all strange to me that you get the Democrats coming out with a video saying, you know, do not follow illegal orders.
14:50And then all of a sudden And you get this. Apparently, these are anonymous kind of whistleblowers saying that something happened here. So, you know, I smell a rat here. I'm not I'm pretty sure that the the secretary of defense had nothing to do with something like that. And and it's just a way of distracting from what really happened in D.C. last week where you had the murder of one National Guardsman. and then the wounding of another by, you know, an Afghan refugee. And so I think it's just a distraction. So I'm with the president on this one. I don't believe the reports. I don't believe that Pete Hanks has said that.
15:31But going back to what it's all about, this is a strike on a, we're striking terrorists that are bringing poison into the United States. This poison has killed hundreds of thousands of Americans.
15:44Ben Meiselas:And then you have MAGA Republican Congress member Scott Fitzgerald on state regime media, which calls itself Fox. And he's like, look, when it comes to invading Venezuela, when you're in for a penny, you're in for a pound, don't ask questions, just invade the place and bring the oil to American oil companies, please. Here play this clip. The legality of all of this, that has been questioned about the president and the administration's military operations off the coast of Venezuela. Yeah, if you're in for a penny, you're in for a pound on this, and we're in for a pound. The buildup is real. Members of Congress have been watching this.
16:23I know that there's some that have been briefed fully on where we're at in relation to not just Venezuela, but kind of the back and forth with the naval fleet being as highly concentrated as it is right now out of Caracas. Listen, Maduro is class, you know, one of those individuals that I think President Trump could run circles around when it comes to negotiating. So I'm very hopeful that he's in a position now, that the president's in a position to force the hand and that we see Maduro step down soon.
17:01Ben Meiselas:I think that has been the goal since day one, and I hope it happens this week. Then you had Caroline Levitt say, and this is why mainstream legacy media and those without a spine say that Trump's deportations have not gone far enough. Huh? What are you talking about? What are you talking about? Here, play this clip. And so that's why when the mainstream legacy media and those without a spine in our country say that president Trump's mass deportations have not gone far enough? President Trump says no, they haven't gone far enough because we must deport every illegal alien who Joe Biden allowed into this country.
17:44And not only do these people serve as a national security threat, they are also draining the resources of American taxpayers. Look no further than the great state of Minnesota that has been run into the ground by Democrat leadership Governor Walz, who is completely incompetent. The Somali migration invasion of Minneapolis.
18:05Ben Meiselas:Oh, and then you have MAGA Republican Congress member Greg Murphy saying the following about Maduro on state regime media. Let's play it. If you look at Venezuela, it was the gem of South America not 15 years ago, and now it's turned into an absolute debacle. That's a definition of socialism. I wish our some of our Democratic colleagues would understand that. And you look, there is precedent for America going in and removing dictators. We did it in 1990 with Manuel Ortega in Panama. This fellow had a bounty on his head during the first Trump administration. The Biden administration increased the bounty, and now Trump, too, has increased the bounty again.
18:41This man is no good for the Western Hemisphere and needs to be removed. Well, we do have certainly, I think it's 25 % of naval ships are there now.
18:50Ben Meiselas:Well, there you have it, folks. Let me know what you think. Hit subscribe. Let's get to 6 million subscribers.
