Trump Gives Up...

0:00Ben Meiselas:Donald Trump is giving up. He was visibly shaken when he arrived at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. He held an impromptu press conference where he said there will be no further negotiations with Iran until after the midterm elections. He said that the war will magically resolve itself after the midterm elections are over and that gas prices will magically go down to$2 a gallon. once the midterm elections are over. Just you wait, he says, that's going to happen. It's right around the corner. Donald Trump held this impromptu press conference, as noted on Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. He's on his way to the so-called Republican midterm convention that people are calling Trumpapalooza, but lots of people are saying it is a loser convention.

0:50Ben Meiselas:MAGA Republicans do not even want to attend this event. Trump was asked questions about all the MAGA Republicans in close races who don't want to show up at this Republican midterm convention. Donald Trump lost it and started screaming at the ABC reporter who asked the question, you're fake news, you're fake news. But this press conference began when the Qatari Air Force One appeared to be broken down yet again. There appeared to be a major equipment malfunction. You can see over here what was going on. They had the old Air Force One. The actual Air Force One was on standby. And then Donald Trump looking visibly shaken, looking just completely out of it.

1:33Ben Meiselas:He runs over to the press and he's like, look, there's an issue with the slide. We're just fixing it. Everything's okay. It's all going to be all right. It's going to be about 15 minutes. Just watch for yourself over here as there are more problems with Qatari Air Force One. Here play this clip.

2:09Ben Meiselas:that was going on, images started surfacing from Jordan, where the United States military is apparently shuttling Black Hawk helicopters and other military equipment that was destroyed by Iran's strikes last night, which sent com claims it didn't even hit our bases when we saw all of these strikes. You can see these Black Hawks right there and other military equipment being shuttled out of Jordan. Then Donald Trump, during this impromptu press conference, says, we're not even looking to do negotiations with Iran anymore. Why would we even want to do that? We'll wait until after the midterms, he says.

2:53We're not looking for it, to be honest with you, Jeff. Originally, I wanted to make a deal. We're so far down the line. They have very little country left right now, so we're not looking for it. Yes, a negotiation could possibly happen, but it's not something we're looking at. This war will end immediately after our election. Thank you very much.

3:15Ben Meiselas:Then a reporter says, well, we've seen a lot of attacks in the Strait of Hormuz recently. What's going on? And Donald Trump's like, that's not Iran. All of the attacks are coming from us. Iran's not shooting at us at all. The level of lies from this disgusting Trump regime is just beyond belief. Just when you thought they couldn't lie anymore. Hey, Donald, we saw the strikes yesterday that Iran did on the Jordan military bases. Iran struck multiple tankers in the Strait of Hormuz yesterday. Yes, the United States Navy did strike and destroy Iranian civil oil tankers. That is true. But Iran responded with force.

3:55Ben Meiselas:What in the world is going on with it? Just so utterly embarrassing. Here, play this clip. The attacks are made by us. We've knocked out nine of their ships. I would say that the attacks are caused by us. Yeah. And you're going to see you're going to see a lot more. We've taken out about nine of their tankers. Then Donald Trump says the war will end immediately after the election. Don't worry. That's when the war will magically be over. Here, play this clip. Of their tankers, many of them are gonzo. Mr. President, stop. We're going to find out. Mr. President. Oh, I think the war is going to end immediately after the election.

4:42I think the war will end immediately after the election. Because? Because they can't hold out any longer.

4:49Ben Meiselas:And then Donald Trump says also the price of gas will tumble down to$2 a gallon or less after the midterms. It'll just do it on its own. He's not explaining why that's the case, as he just destroys our economy every day and makes things worse. As you know, the price of oil right now is over$101 a barrel. The price of diesel is over$6. The price of gas approaching$5. Here he is lying, so you can hear him for yourself, say it's going to tumble down. Play this clip. Shortly, but right after the election, because they'd like to have it that way, But right after the election, oil prices are going to be tumbling downward.

5:30They're going to be tumbling down and we'll get them down. I think for gasoline, we'll get them below two dollars a gallon. But not until after the midterm. I think it's going to take a little bit longer than the midterm. And Mr. President, several Republicans.

5:42Ben Meiselas:A reporter then says, hey, back to like Qatari Air Force One. What are they doing with the slide? Like, is this plane broken? Listen to what Donald Trump says. Let's play it. Not just our country. We have factories being built all over the world. right now. And it's very exciting to see. Mr. President, do you know why they're checking the slide? Is there a security concern with the plane? No, they were checking it before and they just wanted to make sure. So they've, I guess they've already put it up. They want to make sure everything works perfectly. Then Donald Trump tells a reporter, this is an ABC reporter, that the reason why Republicans are not coming to his midterms, the midterm convention, is that there's not enough room.

6:23Ben Meiselas:He has it's just so crowded. Where are you from? He goes to the report. Where are you from? You're from ABC fake news. Got it. You're fake news and just starts yelling at the report. You're the worst of the worst, he says. Here, let's play this clip. I think it's going to take a little bit longer than the midterm. Mr. President, several Republicans in competitive races are not coming to the convention. Do you understand why they're deciding not to come? Everybody that's, everybody's coming to the convention. Everybody wants to come, but we only want and the people that are coming by the way we're going to be sold out tonight just so you understand who are you with abc news sir abc fake news what are the worst you are the worst of all in my opinion the reason that some people are not coming is because we don't have room for 500 politicians we have room for the ones that have a close race if they're slightly behind or slightly ahead or tied but we don't have rooms for people that are 35 points up and don't need to be there.

7:17We said, stay back and campaign. Every politician that we've wanted to be there is there. Go ahead.

8:47Ben Meiselas:Then another reporter continues to look at this slide and what's going on with Qatari Air Force One. And the reporter's like, are you sure? Are you sure that plane is safe to fly? It doesn't look like it's safe. And watch Donald Trump's response. Let's play this clip. That are 35 points up and don't need to be there. We said stay back in campaign. Every politician that we've wanted to be there is there. Go ahead. President, are you sure this plane is safe to fly? Yeah, I am. Or I wouldn't be honest. What do you want? Mr. President, can you tell us? And then Donald Trump says, you know what? I'm going to do much more than even a nuclear deal.

9:23Ben Meiselas:So I'm not going to do any deals until after the midterms. But after the midterm elections, I'm going to do something much better than nuclear. He goes, that's 99.9, but there's going to be so many other things. And the reporter's like, what are you talking about? Like what? You'll see. Just wait until after the midterms. Hope is right around the corner. But do you see the fraud that they always do? I showed you a video earlier when Donald Trump met with the Wisconsin farmers. In 90 days, he said on June 5th, things are going to be so much better. Just wait until you see. And then on September 3rd, it was way worse.

10:00Ben Meiselas:On September 9th today, it's way worse. Remember what he was saying in March. Hope is right around the corner. Things are going to be better. We're about to win the war. Just go back to what Trump did during his first term with COVID, right? We're going to bend the curve before Easter. There's not going to be COVID. And then right after that, he said, by the summer, it's all going to go away. And then when it was horrific, what did he do? He goes, I give myself an A. And when it was an absolute disaster, what do they do? Ah, it's Dr. Fauci's fault. It's Biden's fault. That's the pattern with these con artists.

10:30Ben Meiselas:They destroy. They're the arsonists. Then they blame. But pay attention because we need to get out of this cycle. Here's Donald Trump for yourself. You can hear him say that it's going to get way better. Listen to what he says. Here, play this clip. The whole world is in deep trouble. Are you still hoping for a nuclear deal? Secretary Wright said a nuclear deal might not be on the table anymore. Is that true? I'm doing much more than a nuclear deal. There's a lot more than nuclear. We're going to have nuclear. That's 99.9. But there's going to be a lot of other things on the table that wouldn't have been on the table three months ago.

11:04What about negotiations with Iran? Do you expect that to restart at some point? We're not looking for it, to be honest with you, Jeff. Originally, I wanted to make a deal. 11:31Ben Meiselas:Then a reporter says, you said that oil and gas prices were going to come down, but oil is back over$100 a barrel. How do you explain this? And Trump's like, easy. Just say Iran nuclear. And then the American people love that they're paying more for gas. No one wanted to be in this war. You're lying about the nuclear threat. You claim you obliterated their nuclear capabilities last year during your first operation with Netanyahu. No one believes anything that you're saying, but here play this clip. For weeks that oil and gas prices are going to come down. Oil is now back above$100 a barrel. How do you explain this to Americans who are wondering when?

12:08Well, I think it's very easy to explain to America. All you have to do is say, will you let Iran have a nuclear weapon? And the answer is no. And they're doing very poorly. Their country is in shambles right now.

12:19Ben Meiselas:Then Donald Trump says that he had a great conversation with Putin, that Putin wants to make a deal. He says, but the issue is Zelensky. He said, Zelensky needs to come to the table and we're doing this again, which is what he's always been doing. He says, Putin wants to have all of Ukraine for himself. That's what Putin wants to happen. And Zelensky doesn't want to do that deal, which is what Putin's been unable to achieve thus far in the invasion of Ukraine. But this is what Trump said. Here, play this clip. What about your conversation with President Trump? We had a great conversation. He is wanting to make a deal.

12:58And if Zelensky is wanting to make a deal, that'd be very nice. What is the holdup?

13:03Ben Meiselas:And then Donald Trump said, you know, when it comes to Russia and Ukraine, what it's really about, it's just two people who hate each other. And Trump goes, I talk to people, OK? I know a lot about deals. He goes, that's what I do. I do deals. No, you do bankruptcy. You do destruction. You don't do deals. Here, play this clip. The holdup is two people that hate each other. I think more than anything else, it's two people that hate each other. I think that because I speak to people, that's all I do is speak to people my whole life. I know about deals and these are two people that are tired of fighting.

13:41Ben Meiselas:By the way, while all of that was going on, here's what it looked like. You can see for yourself in Kiev earlier today as Russia struck hard in Kiev. Watch this.

13:59Ben Meiselas:I'll show you over here. Explosions then rocked a weapons depot in Sarmada in the Idlib countryside, northwestern Syria right here. At least 14 people were killed. We believe that count is going to increase to many more. And 11 people are very badly injured, but this is just what happened moments ago. Let's play it.

14:32Ben Meiselas:And then we also learned, as Donald Trump says, that Putin wants to make a deal. This just happened a few hours ago. A plane carrying Zelensky was almost hit by a drone while taking off from Moldova en route to Oslo. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Garstor said his flight was almost hit by a drone when it was taking off from Moldova, an assassination attempt by Russia by Putin. Stor told Norwegian broadcaster NRK, adding, this is the reality that he lives in. Zelensky arrived in Oslo to attend the funeral of Norway's King Harald V and later met Stor to discuss European air defense cooperation. And all the while, Donald Trump just posted this video on his social media platform.
