In short

The episode argues that Donald Trump is medically deteriorating, citing alleged dementia-like behavior and physical issues, while contrasting it with the White House’s official explanation of “chronic venous insufficiency.”

Guest backgrounds

No guests are clearly identified in the transcript. A “Caroline Levitt” segment provides the official physician note; “Dr. Jackson” (Trump’s former doctor) and “Dr. Bornstein/Henry Bornstein” are quoted from earlier reporting.

Key claims

Trump shows word-finding problems, misrecognition of people, difficulty walking/standing, and “dementia-like” symptoms; the episode suggests possible neurological events (“mini strokes”). It also claims Trump dictated medical letters and that prior doctors were concerned.

Notable examples

Trump asking where Finland’s President Stubb is; failing to recognize a congressman; zigzagging on a red carpet; roof remarks about missiles/nuclear weapons; dropping papers at the G7; hand bruising and leg swelling; the White House note attributing swelling to chronic venous insufficiency and bruising to aspirin/handshaking.

0:30Ben Meiselas:This is a real photo right here of Donald Trump's hand. Donald Trump is deteriorating before our eyes. He's quite literally rotting on the outside and on the inside right now. Now, we previously had press conferences from the White House where they said that the real issue here is chronic venous insufficiency, which they claim is not a serious issue. But Donald Trump has continued this week to show massive deterioration and dementia-like symptoms. I want to share with you earlier this week when Donald Trump asked where President Stubb of Finland was, and he was standing right or sitting right across from him.

1:09Ben Meiselas:I mean, quite literally, Stubb was right there. Listen to Donald Trump say, where's Stubb? Is President Stubb here? Stubb is right in front of you, Donald. Here, play this clip. President Stubb of Finland. And he's somebody that, where are we here? I'm right here. Oh. You look better than I've ever seen you look. But you've done a great job and we wanted to have you here. And Donald has been doing this a lot lately, like just the other week when Donald Trump failed to recognize the congressman standing right behind him. And he's like, where is he? Where is he? Oh, there you are. And then the congressman's like, oh, I used to be a Navy SEAL, so I was hiding.

1:50Ben Meiselas:Here, play this clip. Thrilled to be joined by the bill's sponsor, Congressman Derek Van Orden. Where is Derek? Right here. Derek? Hello, Derek. I didn't see you back there. Wow, I didn't see you. I'll snuck up. Let's see you. And Mike, how are you, Mike? Mr. President. These two gentlemen are terrific. They are working together, and they've been working together, Mike, a long time. So I just want to thank you both, and I'll ask you to say a couple of words. And of course, you have Donald Trump zigzagging on the red carpet that he rolled out for Vladimir Putin. Trump could not even walk in a straight line right there.

2:26Ben Meiselas:don't forget that what was it two weeks ago or so donald trump went to the roof of the white house and started saying he was building nuclear weapons on the roof remember that here play this clip mr president what do you want to build what are you trying to build sir do you approve you say more missiles are you building missiles what come on dad did you say missiles

2:59Ben Meiselas:And when Donald Trump was on the roof, let's not forget also that he was also saying that he bought everything here. He like pointed around to the White House. This is mine. This is my money, he said. Very bizarre stuff. Play this clip. On the roof of the White House, he's taking questions. Or he was just a few moments ago. Let's listen in, please. Looking good, Peter. Where are you going to fall over here?

3:29What does that mean? What do you mean? It's a little ways to spend my money. Can you give me another chance? I will. I will show you. It's just another way to spend my money for the country. Are you going to do it? Anything I do is finance by me, so you're not going to do it. It's contributed. Just like my salary is contributed, but nobody ever mentions it. Are you gonna hide it on your panel?

4:00Ben Meiselas:And then remember when Donald Trump dropped the paper, which he claimed was a deal with the United Kingdom. Remember, he thought Keir Starmer, the prime minister of the UK, was actually the European Union. And then Trump dropped blank pieces of paper on the floor at the G7, and he couldn't bend down. Here, play this clip right here. We just signed a document. This is, sorry about that.

4:27A very important document. A little windy out here. We just signed it and it's done. And so we have our trade agreement with the European Union and it's a fair deal for both.

4:41Ben Meiselas:And then what was it on Friday? Yeah, Friday, Donald Trump held up the photo of himself and Vladimir Putin. And he was like, look, everybody, it's me and Putin. Look, look at us. Look how good we look together. Very strange stuff right there indeed. And then in that same day on Friday, Donald Trump couldn't stand up. And so he was throwing MAGA hats at people who were working construction at the White House. And he was saying, here, take these MAGA hats. But notice he can't stand up. Really weird stuff right here. Here, play this clip.

5:20Thank you so much. Thank you. I appreciate it. I appreciate it. This is what I really like. I respect talented people.

5:29Ben Meiselas:Remember, Donald Trump's been struggling to get up on Air Force One and he keeps on tripping over himself. Here, play this clip.

5:42Ben Meiselas:Before Donald Trump went to Alaska, he kept on calling Alaska Russia. Do you remember that? Here, play this clip. And it's embarrassing for me to be up here. You know, I'm going to see Putin. I'm going to Russia on Friday. I don't like being up here talking about how unsafe and how dirty and disgusting this once beautiful Capitol was. And then earlier this week, Donald Trump, when he was saying that he was going to federalize elections and he was going to stop mail-in ballots because Putin told him to stop mail-in ballots. Remember, Donald Trump said that whenever he would go into a voting booth, people would ask him for a license plate.

6:21Ben Meiselas:Play this clip. When you go to a voting booth and you do it the right way and you go to a state that runs it properly, you go in, they even ask me, they ask me for my license plate for identification. I don't know if I have it. He said, sir, you have to have it. I was very impressed, actually. And wasn't it? I mean, so Donald Trump wants to shut down the Smiths. You get where I'm coming with these receipts. Donald Trump wants to shut down the Smithsonian right now and get rid of basically the African-American Museum. But this is what he said about it during the first term. Let me show you. I had the privilege of visiting the National Museum of African-American History and Culture right here in Washington, D.C.

6:59It's a new, beautiful Smithsonian Museum that serves as a shining example of African-Americans' incredible contributions to our culture, our society, and our history. It also tells of the great struggle for freedom and equality that prevailed against the sins of slavery and the injustice of discrimination. The work and love of the people who helped create such a masterpiece is a testament to the legacy of so many leaders it honors.

7:31Ben Meiselas:Can I remind you as well that during the first term, Donald Trump was rushed to Walter Reed under very mysterious circumstances. And then you had this doctor, a former President Obama's doctor, was wondering if it was basically mini strokes that were taking place. Let's play this clip. His inability to say words sometimes worries me tremendously. He is having trouble word finding when he said United States, instead of United States. These aren't words. These aren't slips of the tongue. These are words he can't find them. And this is happening over and over again. Comedians joke about it, but it's not a joking matter.

8:09I think there is a neurological issue that is not being addressed. And if he had an MRI of his head over there, I would be very pleased because I think he needs it. Is that something that could have happened in the two-hour time he was there? Yes, it certainly could. And the worry that I have is that maybe he's having small strokes. And we had that once before in the White House when Woodrow Wilson was president. His inability to find words is peculiar and has not been explained. And I think one has to think of it as a possible neurological issue. What's the wildest scam anyone's ever tried to pull on you?

10:26Ben Meiselas:Now, here's the official explanation by Caroline Levitt. So you can see what she said very recently. So you can just hear what she had to say here. Play this clip. Many in the media have been speculating about bruising on the president's hand and also swelling in the president's legs. So in the effort of transparency, the president wanted me to share a note from his physician with all of you today. In recent weeks, President Trump noted mild swelling in his lower legs. In keeping with routine medical care and out of an abundance of caution, this concern was thoroughly evaluated by the White House Medical Unit.

11:01The president underwent a comprehensive examination, including diagnostic vascular studies. Bilateral lower extremity venous Doppler ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venous insufficiency, a benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70. Importantly, there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease. Laboratory testing included a complete blood count, comprehensive metabolic panel, coagulation profile, D-dimer, B-type natriotic peptide, and cardiac biomarkers. All results were within normal limits. An echocardiogram was also performed and confirmed normal cardiac structure and function.

11:50No signs of heart failure, renal impairment, or systemic illness were identified. Additionally, recent photos of the president have shown minor bruising on the back of his hand. This is consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen. This is a well-known and benign side effect of aspirin therapy. And the president remains in excellent health, which I think all of you witness on a daily basis here. So the president wanted me to share that note with all of you. I'm happy to take further questions on it.

12:26Ben Meiselas:Now, here's the video that we made at the Midas Touch Network to try to highlight whether or not Donald Trump had dementia-like symptoms here. Play this clip. And my stupid people, when I wanted to refute it, they said, sir, don't dignify it with a refuddle. Have you been noticing peculiar behavior recently in someone you know? Someone who mixes fiction and reality

12:59Perhaps someone of advanced age you have known for years Of course we all have our goofs But consistently odd behavior can be a sign of frontotemporal dementia A degenerative disease of the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain that dramatically impairs cognitive function. And there are some key signs to look out for, like slurring words. Failing New York Times by anonymous, really anonymous. Struggling to find the correct words is another sign. The Mueller report, I wish, covered the oranges, the oranges, the oranges of the investigation. You may also notice someone veering into incoherent ideas detached from reality.

13:51You know what I do if there was a shark or you get electrocuted? I'll take electrocution every single time. I'm not getting near the shark. Or an inability to complete simple sentences. Saudi Arabia and Russia will be due. Other notable symptoms include impaired motor function, such as a wavering limb and decreased balance, often accompanied by a signature lean or arched stance. If someone you know is demonstrating several or all of these symptoms, they are seriously unwell. As a matter of safety, they must be relieved of critical responsibilities and disqualified from any position of authority.

14:34Remember, frontotemporal dementia is a degenerative disease. Cognitive function will never return and will only deteriorate further. Don't ignore the signs.

14:53Ben Meiselas:Here is what Donald Trump's former doctor, Dr. Jackson, had to say. Here, play this clip. There was an incident recently where the president appeared to slur his words while giving an address. Did you look into what the cause of that might have been at all? I did, yeah. We talked about that. And actually, one of my ENT consultants was involved in that. We evaluated him. We checked everything out. And everything was normal. We even went so far as to do an ultrasound of his parotid glands and a few other things. And there was absolutely no clinical findings that would suggest. I think the reason for that was.

15:28Ben Meiselas:Yeah, I mean, I'm not really sure that that's what the mini strokes were. Definitely not mini strokes, he says. Definitely not mini strokes. And then remember Donald Trump's doctor, Dr. Borstein, Henry Bornstein, was basically saying that Donald Trump was the person who wrote his own medical reports at the time. Here, play this clip. We ran into Dr. Harold Bornstein right here, right outside his office on Park Avenue. And he told us in no uncertain terms, and this is the quote, Aaron, he dictated, he being Trump, he dictated that whole letter, I didn't write that letter. Meaning that Trump dictated what he wanted to go into it, and essentially Bornstein wrote it up.

16:10He did say, he compared it to the movie Fargo, and he said it takes the truth and moves it in a different direction. Think about that. But now Bornstein tells us that he was in a car with his wife when he was on the phone with then candidate Trump in December of 2015. And she was going through with Trump what he could say and what he couldn't say. Trump was dictating what he wanted in that letter. And Bornstein was saying, OK, you can say that. You can't say that. He then came here to the office. He wrote it up. Trump's office later picked it up. He said around 4 p.m., Aaron, we have reached out to the White House, but we have not gotten a response.

16:45Ben Meiselas:And then during Donald Trump's first administration, he raided his own doctor to get those medical files. Here, let's play this clip right there.

17:15And it certainly is not a breach of medical trust to tell somebody they take Ropecia to grow their hair. What's the matter with that?

17:22Ben Meiselas:And let's not forget that, you know, Donald Trump would go around bragging about passing cognitive exams all the time like he does in the Oval Office. Now, I passed a good cognitive. I passed a good cognitive. You're playing this clip. Very low IQ, president. And by the way, I took my cognitive exam as part of my physical exam and I got the highest mark. And one of the doctors said, sir, I've never seen anybody get that kind of. That was the highest mark. I hope you're happy with that. Although they haven't been bugging me too much to take a cognitive. But I did do my physical and it was released.

17:55I hope you're all happy with it. I noticed there's no question. So probably you are. But the cognitive, they said to me, sir, would you like to take a cognitive test? I said, did Biden take one? No. Did anybody take one? No, not too many people took him. I said, what about Obama? Did he take one? No, he didn't take one either. I said, let me be the only one to take one. But I've actually taken them three times already. I like taking them because they're not too tough for me to take.

18:26Ben Meiselas:Well, again, just take a look at the hand right there one more time. I mean, that looks absolutely brutal, brutal, brutal, brutal. I mean, and again, you can judge for yourself the zigzagging on the red carpet. He can't work straight. He can stand up. What the hell is this guy even saying these days? He's talking about nuclear weapons on the top of the White House. Anyway, let me know what you think. Hit subscribe. Let's get to 6 million subscribers. And thank you for watching.
