Donald Trump just made numerous stunning admissions about the government shutdown that's about to take place when he held a press conference in the Oval Office.

2:10Ben Meiselas:Donald Trump stated that he intends to use the government shutdown in order to harm people medically and destroy the lives of people in the government. It's in his own words. Let me play the clip for you right now here. Let's play it. Tell you we have 17 trillion dollars being invested. So the last person that wants to shut down is us. Now, with that being said, we can do things during the shutdown that are irreversible, that are bad for them and irreversible by them, like cutting vast numbers of people out, cutting things that they like, cutting programs that they like. and you know all you all know russell vote he's become very popular recently because he can trim the budget to a level that you couldn't do any other way so they're taking a risk by having a shutdown because because of the shutdown we can do things medically and other ways including benefits we can cut large numbers of people we don't want to do that but we don't want fraud waste and abuse.

3:12And, you know, we're cutting that.

3:14Ben Meiselas:But now the Democrats all showed up to the House of Representatives today. You see right here in the House chambers, all Democrats, notably missing right here, all Republicans. No Republicans showed up to the House of Representatives on the day before a government shutdown because Donald Trump and MAGA Mike ordered that these Republicans not show up. Horrific. Democrats are there to work. Then Donald Trump is asked a question by a reporter who finally pushes back. And the reporter says, people who are not here lawfully undocumented migrants, they're not eligible for health care subsidies. So why do you keep saying that Democrats are trying to get them subsidies when they're not even allowed to have the subsidies.

4:02Ben Meiselas:And Democrats are saying, no, they're not allowed to have the subsidies. That's not what this is about. It's about extending the tax credits for American citizens who are about to see their monthly premiums increase significantly. You'll see that Donald Trump just vomits out a bunch of word salad right here because he doesn't have the answer. And by the way, this is why he didn't want his meeting with Democratic leaders Jeffries and Schumer on tape. Here, play this clip. time for that. You're not eligible for the health care subsidies that Democrats are demanding. So can you clarify, what are you talking about when you say Democrats want to protect their health care?

4:41So when an illegal person comes in, a person who came into our country illegally, therefore breaking the law, and look, we all have big hearts. I have a bigger heart than you do. They're all breaking the law, and they're coming into our country, and we just, as a country, cannot afford to take care of millions of people who are broken the law coming in we want them to come into our country but we want them to come in legally now we have a strong border very strong border thanks to christy and tom holman and the whole group they've done an amazing job at the border i mean we had a border that was reckless we had a border that was a disaster they were coming in by the millions i say 25 million people you're saying less but i say 25 million people came in illegally and no system can take care of the health care of all of those people that came in

5:26Ben Meiselas:And then Donald Trump continues down this path because he just believes if you repeat a lie over and over and over again, that people will just start speaking those talking points. And he goes, yeah, we're going to have a shutdown because Democrats want Cadillac Medicare and health care for illegal immigrants. Just, again, blatantly 100 percent false. And how do you know it's false, too? You saw the reporter ask him the question and he didn't even respond to the question. He just goes back to his lies. This is all he knows how to do is vomit lies, a live vomiter. That's who's in the Oval Office.

6:01Ben Meiselas:Here, play this clip. We could come up and through this whole thing, you know, because I don't know, we'll probably have a shutdown because one of the things they want to do is they want to give incredible Medicare Cadillac, the Cadillac Medicare to illegal immigrants. And what that does is it keeps them coming into our country and like they do in California. And no country can afford that. No country. and we have the border stopped up we have it closed we have nobody for four months zero zero people came in that wasn't me that's me by the authorities who happen to be liberally oriented but but just think of that we have people offering health care to people all over the world that they can't afford to pay and that's the democrats and what happens what that does is it brings people into the country because they want to come in for the health care but no country can afford it and they can't afford it.

6:54So we cannot allow them to charge tremendous amounts of money for health care for people that aren't even citizens. And in many cases, they come in from prisons, jails, and mental institutions.

7:08Ben Meiselas:And we can't let that happen. So and then Donald Trump starts attacking Obamacare, which is the Affordable Care Act, which allowed tens of millions of Americans who did not have insurance, who would just literally die to get insurance. Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act, actually very popular. And Donald Trump during his first term said that he was going to come up with a health care plan. Well, now we're here many, many, many years later, and you haven't done anything other than post about super secret technology from outer space, from aliens called med beds, that you're going to give alien technology to the American people.

7:49Ben Meiselas:And then you delete the video because it's a QAnon conspiracy. Here, play this clip. While Nancy Pelosi is ignoring what you're doing for the American people, she's going after your administration for cutting taxpayer funded healthcare for illegal aliens. Nancy Pelosi, she went on NBC last night, dropped a bunch of bombs, told Republicans to go F themselves. Has she lost her mind? We have done an unbelievable job medically. Just this, if you did nothing else, we've done a lot like the insulin. But just this, nobody can ever catch this. This is the biggest price reduction times, maybe 10 times, 15 times, that has ever been given before.

8:30And this is going to have a huge impact. You know, as I said, Obamacare is not a good thing. It's been bad. And I'd like to make it better. I told them, I spoke to a lot of people, a lot of Democrats recently. So I said, why don't we change it? We can make Obamacare much better. We could come up with a new system that would be much better, less expensive for the people and better. This is maybe the biggest breakthrough, because, you know, when you're talking about the prescription drugs, it's a big that's a big part of it. So we're going to look. This is prescription. But we're going to be looking at that.

9:02Ben Meiselas:Then now during this bizarre presser, RFK Jr. starts coughing and then Donald Trump makes a joke about I hope I didn't just catch COVID. what? Here, play this clip. 9:31Ben Meiselas:Give me a Pax Lovett immediately. Donald Trump then continues to attack Obamacare. Okay, I get it. You hate Obamacare. Well, than rather than posting about med beds alien technology that doesn't exist why don't you actually come up with a plan rather than tearing down and taking away and destroying people's lives and why don't you extend the tax credits so that premiums don't skyrocket at least extend the taxes then come out with your plan how about that no you want to not just take away medicaid from people you want to take away people's affordable care act plan here play this clip done that because these numbers are going to bring medicaid so we talk about obamacare obamacare is a failure obamacare is not good it's not it's there but relative to other health care programs it's uh in the lower 20 it's not good and i asked uh the democrat representatives what do you think about coming up with a better health care this actually allows you to do that because the you You know, the cost of prescription medicine is a big, I guess, a very big, more than 50 % the cost of what we're talking about.

10:40So we might be able to do something like that. This is a big, this is one of the biggest news conference from a medical standpoint that I think has ever been had by any administration.

And then Donald Trump refers to the shutdown as a strike. And he goes, the reason they want to strike is to get illegal immigrants, health care, illegal immigrants, transgender people, illegal immigrants.

12:03Ben Meiselas:These people are crazy. What are you talking about? This is just this robotic lie over and over again. All the Democrats are saying is Americans are about to potentially die in mass if they can't afford their health care and of their Affordable Care Act plans about to get unaffordable. Here, play this clip. And, you know, we're cutting that. But they want to have illegal aliens come into our country and get massive health care at the cost to everybody else. And we don't have it. And that's that's I would say the number one reason that they want to strike is to get illegal immigrants health care.

12:40And, you know, Gavin Newsom wants that, too, in California. And it's destroying California. We can't have that. We're not going to let it happens.

12:48Ben Meiselas:Do you have a plan for dealing with? Oh, but Donald Trump has his secrets. He's figured out a way to reduce your medical prescription drug prices by 14, 15, even 1600%. You can't reduce something by 1600%. That would mean the pharmaceutical company. If say something costs a dollar would basically be paying you$1 ,600. You're not doing 1600 % reductions. No wonder why Donald Trump says smart people don't like me. Here, play this clip. But I said, I want to get back here. So because this is you're talking about 14, 15, 1600 percent reductions in some cases. But by taking this bold step, we're ending the year of global price gouging at the expense of American families.

13:33Ben Meiselas:And I'll bring you to the scene right here in front of the Capitol building. You have Democratic Congress member Ted Lieu right here. And here he's talking about how Democrats are here, ready to work, ready to fight for people's health care, ready to try to negotiate. But Republicans didn't even show up to work today. They didn't show up to work today. Here, play this clip. Hello, I'm Congressman Ted Lieu. This is the day before the government shuts down. And where are House Republicans? They are on vacation. They literally canceled session that was scheduled for today so they can go on vacation.

14:10Ben Meiselas:Well, I and other Democrats came here anyways to Washington, D.C. to work for the American people, to fight for the American people, to lower costs, to cancel the cuts and to save health care. And we're asking the Republicans to come back from their vacation to prevent a government shutdown. I'm so proud of my Democratic colleagues. We all came back to fight for the American people while your House Republicans are on vacation. And when this government shuts down, it's on them. Now, here's Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries responding to Donald Trump's post of that AI slop video of that put a sombrero on Hakeem Jeffries and like a mustache on Hakeem Jeffries.

Here play this clip. House Democrats are here on duty fighting on behalf of the American people ready to fund the government in a way that lifts up their quality of life. House Democrats are on duty. House Republicans are on vacation. Shame on them for being on vacation all across the country and across the world on the eve of a government shutdown.

16:07Ben Meiselas:We're on duty. They're on vacation because they'd rather shut the government down than protect the healthcare of the American people. That's unfathomable. That's unacceptable. that's unconscionable and that's un-American

16:26Ben Meiselas:do your job and then Fox has its machine pushing out all of its lies state regime media you've got Sean Hannity and others saying you know actually let's do it let's do the shutdown here play this clip and then the Democrats want something else as well and this is important they want an extension of Joe Biden's Obamacare subsidies. They were designed to be a temporary measure during COVID, a health emergency. What does that mean? Well, thanks to the brilliance of Obamacare, anyone in America doesn't have health insurance, legal or illegal, basically has two options. Get on government funded Medicaid or buy a plan on the Obamacare exchange.

17:10Unfortunately, most of those Obamacare exchange plans are basically useless. They cost a ton of money and they cover almost nothing. And remember, until Donald Trump came along, there was a major tax penalty for any American that didn't have Obamacare. People were being forced by the government to buy a lousy product as part of Joe Biden's America Rescue Plan. Well, that's the two trillion dollars that he dropped into the economy at the start of his term to, quote, spike inflation. While the government heavily subsidized the cost of those Obamacare exchange plans and Medicaid, And instead of improving the products, as a result, Democrats decided the government would pay for it now.

17:53And those subsidies are expiring. And guess what? Republicans are not going to fund it. Democrats want, oh, let's pay all this health care in perpetuity, basically universal health care. And by the way, that would be trillions of dollars in exchange for keeping the government open for what, a mere four weeks. It's never going to happen. And I'm going to be probably the only consistent one. I don't care if the government shuts down. Our military will still be defending us. We'll still have Border Patrol working. We'll have law enforcement working. We will also have Social Security and Medicaid provided to the elderly in this country.

18:31Those in need will get their checks, et cetera.

18:34Ben Meiselas:Doesn't doesn't scare me. Never has. Never will. And while all of that's taking place, Donald Trump is also spending the morning fundraising off of the indictment of James Comey. Donald Trump is saying he's a dirty cop. Give me money. Look what we've done. He literally sent an email to his supporters fundraising off of his demand that Comey be indicted and Trump placing his stooge, Lindsay Allegan, to indict James Comey. Trump is fundraising off. Anyway, that's where we're at right now. We'll keep you posted every step of the way. We're going to be providing constant updates on this government shutdown caused by Donald Trump, caused by the MAGA Republicans who didn't even show up to work today.
