In short
The “Annual Team Draft” (8th year) where hosts Mike Golic Jr. and Lenny (plus Sam Hoppin tabulating) draft NFL teams using a point system based on postseason appearances/results. They recap last year’s huge point differential and then draft teams 1–20 (first half plus early second half), debating contenders, schedules, injuries, coaching, and roster construction.
Guests/backgrounds
Mike Golic Jr. is an NFL offensive lineman/analyst and co-host of “Gold & Golic 3-5” (on FanDuel). Lenny is the other host, an offensive-lineman-focused NFL pod host. Sam Hoppin is the recurring third member who tracks/records draft scoring.
Key claims
- Eagles are “idiot proof,” best NFC team.
- Chiefs are AFC West favorites if the left side of the O-line develops (Josh Simmons, Kingsley Suamataia).
- Bills are a strategic pick due to easier schedule and strong foundation.
- Ravens are a “wagon” and could run away with the AFC North.
- Lions are talented enough to compete with Philadelphia if healthy.
- 49ers pick is schedule/ease + health ceiling (Christian McCaffrey), despite injury/fit concerns.
- Texans are chosen for defense + weak AFC South, despite offensive-line skepticism and Joe Mixon missing early games.
- Broncos are picked for offensive-line investment + stacked defense (Sean Payton era).
Notable examples
Last year’s winners were Mike with 273–174 over Lenny; Mike’s low points came from a weak first pick (49ers). Specific roster/injury examples include Tristan Wirfs being off the pup list (Bucs), Joe Mixon on the non-football injury list, and Rashawn Slater’s injury (Chargers).

0:34Welcome back to the meeting time show featuring Lenny the only NFL podcast one of the host's favorite offensive linemen is Tristan Woofs who ironically just came off the pup list. Wow. I don't think he's gonna play right away but that's good news for the Bucs. Michael Jr. You're my favorite offensive lineman for those who don't know if you're listening to pod you don't know who he is that would be very weird um mike is the host one of the two hosts of gold and golic three to five eastern on fandle here to do very important exercise the annual munichheim show team draft often imitated never replicated eight years going at least at least at least I do we have a final record tally like obviously it's not going to take me long to mention I'm getting ready to defend my title after last year's dominant run in the meeting kind of show featuring Lenny team draft but I don't actually know what the overall record is at that point I feel like we put so much on Sam Hoppin friend of the podcast who is like the other third podcast member of this every year to know all this stuff but I don't know what it is offhand so i know all i know is i won the year before and you won last year sam graciously doesn't do a head-to-head but i did read so we could okay so for those who have are listening to this first time every year mike and i take terms drafting every nfl team we pick based on a patented point system that i came up with i will and i'm not changing it this year even though it screwed me last year the way it works is uh it's based off of team records you get one point for a win you get five points if your team makes it into the playoffs you get five points for a divisional round win you get 10 points for a conference championship and you get 10 points for a super bowl victory oh wait no those are appearances sorry i missed i already screwed it up well everything i just said are appearances and then you get an additional five points if your team wins the Super Bowl.
2:42Sorry. So five points for making the playoffs, five points for making the divisional round. Sorry. Five points for making the championship, 10 points for making the Super Bowl, five points for winning the Super Bowl. We will briefly revisit what happened last year. Sam Hoppin always tabulates the results for us very kindly or unkindly in this case. Mike Wan overwhelmingly with a score of 273 to 174. That's probably one of the biggest point differentials, Sam, you don't need to calculate that, that we've ever seen. You won on the strength of having both Super Bowl teams and, of course, the Super Bowl winner, the Chiefs and the Eagles.
3:20You also had the Lions, the Bills, and then later in the draft, a great value pickup of the Vikings, who had 14 points from winning that many games in the regular season, and the Washington Commanders. You also had the Rams. So I got royally screwed by the San Francisco 49ers, who are my first overall pick. Yeah, so I ended up with six points from them, which is very low. By comparison, the Super Bowl teams gave you 50 and 44. I also picked the Ravens, the Texans, the Packers. And then I had a ton of great value picks in the second half. Bucks, Steelers, Chargers, Broncos. but your draft was much more top heavy.
4:05And then the commander's pick, I feel like really sealed your fate. Yeah. Shout out to Dan Quinn, Kevin O 'Connell, Jaden Daniels, just heroes of mine and guys that have a seat at the barbecue with me at the O-line dinner on Thursdays in perpetuity from here on out. But may not listen, like most great teams, this isn't about last year. What we did last year was great. We'll be excited when we're welcome back to hang the banners later on. But we're going to focus on this year's team draft and try and figure out how we're going to extract that kind of value. I have painstakingly put together a big board that I will no doubt completely go away from the minute I'm pressed with something difficult once you make a pick.
4:44Well, one. Yeah. So one decision I make every year haphazardly with no information beforehand is who gets to pick first. I am giving myself the first pick this year because you had the first pick last year. Yes. That was. Yeah. So I feel like you probably took the cheese. So, all right. So let's get it rolling. With the first pick of the annual Mina Kimes show featuring the A-Team draft, I am taking the Philadelphia Eagles.
5:18Don't really need to get into great detail on this one. Best team in the NFC with a bullet. That probably is the biggest driver for me because I view the AFC as being very top-heavy. there's like three teams that i feel like are kind of powerhouses could finish in any order honestly although i have my preferences and we'll get to that um the only thing i you know obviously there it's a difficult schedule first place team and all of that um the only thing that gives me i guess some pause perhaps is that schedule i think the cowboys could be a little better than people think but i also think the eagles just match up really well with them and the commanders so i'm not worried about them not winning the division this year.
6:00So give me the Eagles. Yeah, no, that one, like you said, doesn't need a ton of explaining some new secondary members, some things like that, but it's all garnishing around what's one of the most idiot proof rosters in football. All right. Second overall pick here.
6:19I am going to go. This is one of those that I thought about overthinking, but I am not going to go broke taking a profit. I'm still going to take Kansas City here. Really? Yeah. Oh, wow. Okay. I know exactly who we're thinking of and who the debate's going to be in the AFC. And as I've listened to a bunch of your podcasts doing power rankings in the offseason and the preseason looks like, I know the two teams most people are thinking, but as we've gone through the preseason and I've gotten a look at the left side of that offensive line that I think by season's end can play some really good football, the wide receiver room looking a little bit healthier year, Travis Kelsey, hopefully gets to be used the way they wanted to last year.
6:58I just more and more think like, hey, until further notice, someone's going to have to show me that they're not going to win the AFC West and be the representative in at least the AFC championship until proven further. Can you talk about the left side of the offensive line? Because I've done a couple of preseason pods, but we haven't addressed the Chiefs at all. They came out, by the way, quite an experience to be in Cleveland the night before uh dresser win played an entire game for Sean McVay's Rams not even Stetson Bennett he he goes down to QB four for you because that is how he approaches the preseason I'm sitting in the hotel lobby of uh in Cleveland watching Patrick Mahomes playing to the second quarter and thinking what is my life also Caleb Williams played a lot but anyways Chiefs offense to your point looks like an absolute wagon um but talk to me about the offensive line briefly before we move on because I trust your take there yeah I I think we've all known and circled everyone who's talked about it like Josh Simmons the pick out of Ohio State who fell there because of the patellar injury that knocked him out a few games in the last year was one of the ultimate swing states and so far has has looked you know good hasn't been overwhelmed like clearly has picked stuff up there early and I think like as he goes along this season Jeff Schwartz has done a lot of good stuff on this obviously super familiar with that team.
8:14He's just a guy that's got to clean a few things up technique-wise, but now that he's fully healthy, how much better he got year over year in Ohio State the two years he was there, to me, especially combined with the pedigree of the coaching in that O-line system, the other guys in that room, to me, bodes really well for his development this year. And then Kingsley Sumatai on the inside has, I think, transitioned to guard pretty well. He was a guy that at times just looked a little bit out of place out at left tackle. And so run blocking seems to have been a much bigger strength than pass blocking so far.
8:47But overall, like, listen, you're not going to replace the loss of Joe Tooney with either of them on the left side and what he meant to that group. But I think the high end potential for development of those two, provided they can stay on the field for long enough this season, makes me go, all right, left tackle wise, it wasn't going to get worse than last year. And I think Josh Simmons starts at a good place and has the potential to be like the a guy that solidifies that spot for a long time for them now. That would obviously be huge for them. I also think, you know, we've talked a lot about the return of Rasheed Rice, who comes out and immediately looks great.
9:24Pacheco looked more explosive in the preseason game. I'm not over, but you know, I was very skeptical of them not drafting a running back or adding at all. And then watching him, I thought maybe they just feel good about what he's bringing to the table this year. So fair enough. I would not have taken the chiefs. I would have taken the team I'm going to take for strategic reasons. It's not even the team that I have at the top of the AFC necessarily, but I'm going to go with the Buffalo bills here. The bills have the 27th hardest schedule in football. Yep. So fifth easiest, uh, wait, anyways, uh, they, uh, play in a much easier division than the chiefs and the Ravens.
10:08spoiler alert right those are the big three um I think that I am a little bit nervous about some of the injuries they've had at cornerback don't love that but I just think they're gonna win so many games in the regular season uh so give me the bills yep no I having the foundation they have makes it really easy you concern at all like were the upgrades at pass catcher enough like a Dalton Kincaid bounce back year is all that stuff that you think is in the cards for them I mean, it was like a top five offense last year. And so why would it not be this year? Right? Like I would have been worried if they hadn't kept James Cook, honestly.
10:46Like I'm not necessarily saying he had to get paid or whatnot, but this is a team with a dominant quarterback and a dominant run game. And everything's based on that. They defenses constantly sell out to stop the run against them. So even if their receivers aren't world beaters, I'm not worried. I do think like McCade, Coleman or Kincaid, one of them you'd really want to step up a little bit over last year, but I think they'll be fine. All right. So I've got my second pick here. This is interesting. Let me see here. I'm going to go. all right I feel pretty good about how the board could break here so I'm gonna go Baltimore with this pick yeah I might regret taking the bills over the Ravens because I've had the Ravens over the bills in like power rankings and when I'm asked who do I think is the best team in AFC I've consistently said the Ravens for me the bills were just more of like a division strategic pick sure getting the better seed in the playoffs and all of that but I mean the Ravens are a wagon that is the interesting part is I was looking at some of the strength of schedule stuff and obviously the AFC North gets this certain billing, but like realistically going into this season, when we look at the, you know, what we think could still be a dominant run for a Baltimore team that had to work through some stuff last year, had some tough breaks early in the season.
12:13The defense took a while to get going. Like in all actuality, the Bengals who have just punted on defense altogether, the Browns who are left off in their own corner of hell in this division, and then a Steelers team. That's a bunch of guys. They're trying to big together around a 40 plus year old quarterback. Just the more and more I looked at it, I was like, oh yeah, this should absolutely be like a team that could run away with this division based on what we're seeing at the flaws in these other teams. It's a good point. Like, are we overweighting the AFC North, especially given the concerns that everyone correctly has about the Bengals defense?
12:46Maybe. The other thing is though, right? Like, I don't want to put too much emphasis on regular season because of the point system, you know? Yeah. it's also like okay who do we think is actually going to win once they get into the dance right um i might regret not taking the ravens there but yeah i i feel pretty good about i think the four teams that we've taken the eagles chiefs bills and ravens have finished top four in every power rankings pod i've done and it's really hard to pick the there's a i mean the nfc north has a couple teams that I think could maybe jump in there, but I have questions about it.
13:29To me, Mike, that's the clear top four in the NFL right now. I was thinking about this the other day too. Can you remember a time where we had such a clear – we've heard it in the quarterback discussion this offseason, which obviously excludes the Eagles, but there's such a defined upper crust at quarterback. And team-wise, there appears to be such a defined ceiling of the NFL with a certain depth, like having four great teams that we think are absolutely capable of winning it all. I'm trying to remember the last time it was this clear of a grouping difference from the top to the next step. No, yeah, it is.
14:03The quarterbacks is a great point, right? Because like the Bills, Ravens, and Chiefs are just – the other team is the Bengals with the other – because they're such a clear-cut top-four tier of quarterbacks.
14:21yeah it's we were asked on PTI today like are the commanders contenders and I was like yeah like not in the AFC but in the NFC yeah sure why not I mean I don't think there I think Philadelphia is better but there's every team else you know the other team is either I mean is flawed in some way I'm gonna pick one of those flawed teams though I'm gonna go NFC here I'm gonna take the Lions here a lot of Lions skepticism happening right now I think concerns about injuries on the, you know, defense propping up already, offensive line changes on the interior, new coaching staff, both sides of the ball.
15:01I was just looking at the depth chart the other day. They're just too stacked, man. Like, they're just too good on offense for me to, you know, they might take a little bit of a step back on offense, but defensively, if they're not like the most injured unit ever, that should mitigate that to some degree. I just think this team is too talented. That's the thing about the defense. The defense is so talented with Hutchinson back in the building. At all three levels, they're stacked. So I just, I think that, you know, it's a very difficult division. And that concerns me a little bit with this pick.
15:34But going back to kind of the premise of like, if you get into the playoffs, like the Lions, I think, can actually compete with Philadelphia, provided that they're healthy. Big time. And like, it could easily be gamesmanship. did Lenny object to that pick? Dear God. Body slam the door. Fist. But I mean, it could be gamesmanship. I think Dan Campbell came out and said he thinks this is the deepest team that he's had since he's been in Detroit. And like, again, it seems like it's backed up. And if they have success, we'll all be able to point back to the inner squad practice between them and the Dolphins that now seems to be a built-in part of Lions lore forever, which is hilarious.
16:11All right. Pick six. Yeah. Yeah, I need to finally balance it out with some NFC here. So I'm going to go 49ers on this one. Ooh, strategic. Yeah, that was kind of my thought process behind the Baltimore pick is I knew Detroit or San Francisco was going to be there. And I felt pretty good now. Again, kind of the things you talked about, concerns with injuries, with like Buffalo, 49ers, wide receiver. Hasn't been a fun training camp for all the injuries on that front. You know, there's some questions about certain guys' fits along the defensive front. You know, they're going to ask a lot of some rookies, Alfred Collins and what does that look like if he's playing three tech but again it's just easy schedule regression to anything resembling the mean in terms of the game's loss to injury and Kyle Shanahan years where they've been healthy and had a healthy Christian McCaffrey usually has a ceiling that is Super Bowl appearance so I'll bet on that team especially given again the ease of the schedule yeah I'm gonna read their non-divisional opponents Saints Jags Bucks Falcons, Texans, Giants, Panthers, Browns, Titans, Colts, Bears.
17:21There's cupcakes and then there's magnolia, frosted, whipped cream on top, all the toppings. That is the schedule. Sounds like breakfast at my house. Jesus. So, yeah, it'll be interesting to say the least. A lot of this does hinge, too, because there has been so much turnover, volatility, injury, wide receiver of just how back is Christian McCaffrey, who was certainly in the past. Unlocked the level of an offense that I know you guys have talked about a bunch, like changed shape drastically last year in what they did with Brock Purdy, the yards after catch plummeting and all that stuff. So I'll be curious what they trot out for that this year.
18:04I'm going to talk about Christian a little bit next week, so I'm going to put a pin in that because I think he's very pivotal. I'm torn between this one because my head is saying, look at that schedule, look at the underlying metrics, look at the injuries, and then my hardest, I guess it is still my head also, is saying, look at that secondary though in the right receiver group and do we really feel good about the pass rushers outside? This roster is not as good as it's been in the past. So it's a very defensible pick for the reasons that we've discussed, but I don't know. I don't think they're going to win the division.
18:39I really don't, but we'll see. Yeah. All right. Pick seven here. So I'm going to, I'm going to kind of hedge and I'm going to take the Packers. So I've got the lions and the Packers. I am doubling down on the NFC North. um both difficult divisions or difficult schedules pardon me obviously the division the Packers are just so balanced I think like I think they're they're really well coached team both sides of the ball good players both sides of the ball the question with them is always like do you have great players on both sides of the ball and I think it's a reasonable one maybe I'm a little bit too hype after watching Matthew Golden highlights from the preseason because he looks like exactly what they need out there.
19:31Maybe I am clinging a little bit too much to my many shares of Jordan Love Incorporated. I think they're going to be really good again. I do. So I'm going to take them. Yeah, I don't blame you at all. That was a team where I think we've always had respect for him. But man, there's just something that like really watching what Matt LaFleur did with Malik Willis during the stretches where Jordan Love was injured. That's the other thing. Like if Jordan Love's just healthy the entire season And you have that offensive continuity. How different does this look? Can you get closer to the last, what, seven games of 2023 as opposed to last year?
20:05And how much different that is. But just the way Matt LeFleur was able to, like, really make these bespoke game plans that fit his quarterback so perfectly and gave them a chance. Like, he's someone who I think is just going to continue to get more and more of that the further and further away we get from the Aaron Rodgers of it all. So I actually like that pick a lot. All right, pick eight. All right, so I've got Kansas City, Baltimore, and the 49ers. I will go – you know what? We talked about them a little bit earlier. I'm going to go Washington here. Okay. I'll take the commanders here. Again, to your point, in the NFC and just in general, this is also part of the exercise that I think has been fun every year is early on even eschewing teams that might be legit division winners for who's got a ceiling that could actually be deep postseason, Super Bowl Washington to me you know in trying to avoid the CJ Stroud year two downturn went out and added big pieces to their offensive line finally got Terry McLaurin into camp as of today so all like these things that should hopefully stave off any of those worries and then you know Dan Quinn and the defense certainly still have some ways to go to get that right but I still think this is a team that showed us last year just how high the ceiling is
21:20i feel like the bucks or the commanders party have the way we talked about this on today because the mclaurin deal the way i feel about them is like they could beat the lions and the niners but it's hard or probably the lions and the packers but it's hard for me to imagine them beating the Eagles. So like, there's kind of like a weird, there's like a bit of a cap on them, but you know, you, you don't, you maybe don't play them in the like last year, obviously this worked out for you because they made it to the NFC championship. I just look at that run defense and pass rush and I'm just, it's, I don't, I don't see it.
21:57I think the offense is going to be great though. And obviously keeping McLaurin's a big part of that. But yeah, there's just things I worry about. The historic rate on third down, all of the close games. But court, like listen it's always a good strategy in this game to pick good quarterbacks because right they tend to lift the boat so i'm delaying a bit because i'm torn okay so i have pick nine here and i am really torn i have so much nfc right now so i have to remind folks the eagles the bills the lions and the packers so three nfc one afc problem is the afc while it has a cluster of really really good teams after that it's kind of hard to know what to do with this conference oh i am so skeptical of this team not let me bring that down a notch i have a lot of questions about this team, but I think they're going to win their division again pretty easily.
23:10And that is the Houston Texans. Ooh, okay. It feels high, but the defense is so good. The AFC South is so flawed. The quarterback is good. I have gone on the record as being kind of put off by how much people are saying, well, the offensive line will be better because it can't be worse. I just don't agree with that at all. But I just think everything else about this team is so good, and I like the coach. So I'm going to go Texans here. Don't feel great about it. We were talking about that today just because the news came out that Joe Mixon was going on, the non-football injury list, so he's going to miss the first four games.
23:57There's two division games in that. The run game is something like when you look at that running back room, it's Nick Chubb trying to revitalize his career now post-Cleveland. And then I forget the two other guys in there. There's a young guy mixed in there. I think it might be Woody Marks and one other player. But you brought up the offensive line. To me, that's going to be the most interesting part is how much can Nick Kaylee's scheme that maybe is a little bit more of like that Rams get big down the middle, put more on the hands of your quarterback that like takes the rest off the plate of everybody else.
24:31Like you and I think talked at some point last year about how so much of what happened to was on the protection schemes, how flawed that was at times for the group up front. And additionally, just how much shuffling around they did. Yeah. Uh, Damien Pierce is the next back. Well, I actually think could be a good fit for if Nick Kaylee runs more gap stuff, which I think is the plan. Yeah. I don't know. It's just they're not good players, but I do think scheme will help a lot. So we shall see. And like defense matters too, guys. I had this as the second best defense in the NFL. I feel still feel good about that.
25:06So. All right. Pick 10 round us out. All right. This is another one. All right. So I've got one, two. All right. So I'm even two and two right now, AFC, NFC. But looking at the board here, I got to see if I'm going to be able to get.
25:34I keep wondering when I want to go this route.
25:44Yeah, I'm going to go. I'm going to go with Denver here. Really? Okay, not what I thought you were going to do. All right, interesting. Yeah, I've bought into the propaganda, clearly hook, line, and sinker, but kind of the same thought process, maybe less predicated on me thinking Bo Nix is CJ Stroud in terms of that upper echelon comparison, but this is one, and God love our friend Dominique Foxworth. I listen to him every preseason. If a team is not set on the O-line, I don't really consider them. and like you and I talked about this group last year in the postseason. Like Zach Streif coached these dudes up.
26:19They've invested in the offensive line. We talked to Jeff Legwald this morning on our show. It sounds like they might be hitting a little bit more outside zone. Everyone, they're really bullish on R.J. Harvey and what he's done so far in camp. And then to top it all off, like this defense looks like it's going to be absurd again this season. So if you've got that at the backdrop, I get in the FTN folks pointed out like Bo Nix feasted on the worst teams in their schedule and in favorable game scripts. But like, I still think he's going to be dealing with some fairly favorable game scripts, given the prowess of that defense and the game plan that's going to win them games with Sean Payton, who is, you know, very quickly been back like, and they're now in the last year before they get out of from under that Russell Wilson contract.
27:03So it's just, there's a lot of positive here. Even if I don't necessarily think the quarterback is a world beater. uh well you have the chiefs also so you're hedging a little bit in the afc west um so i i talked about the broncos earlier this week when i bill barnwell i did a pod on like who could upset uh the favorites in every division the broncos were unsurprisingly my pick for the afc west for all the reasons that you outline coaching matters so much too and sean payton kind of reminded everyone that he is sean payton and he's an extremely good coach um but yeah i mean the defense is just stacked, so stacked.
27:40I love the John A. Barron pick. There fits so well in that just demeanor wise that dude, he was one of the guys I got to talk to at the combine and you just walked away. You're just like, dude, absolute dude. So I'm sure he fits in well around there. I think the Titans play them week one, if I remember correctly, and they're just going to put Cam Ward in the walls of Jericho. Like that's just, that's such an unfair matchup for a rookie quarterback. Just nightmare. Um, don't hate the pick. I thought you were going to go with the team that I'm going to take, which is the ramps. Uh, so you have the Niners pick six.
28:11I'm going to Rams pick 11. I mean, let me ask you straight up. Cause there's a strategic element to this. And we obviously talked about it with the Niners with their schedule, but like setting aside schedule, who do you think is the better football team? I, so this is the thing is I think if Stafford is fully healthy, the Rams are the better football team. The problem is as someone who's had a lot of back problems, the stuff that I heard now, listen, you know, I'm not going to make you divulge any company secrets. You were a part of the Rams broadcast in the preseason. You know this team infinitely better than I will, and maybe what's going on with Matthew Stafford, but disc issues in a 37-year-old that's got to go out and move dynamically.

28:49I've gotten plenty of those shots. I've done plenty of that stuff. That is a hard thing without the benefit of time to actually get to. Well, you may have had treatment on your back from playing football, but your girls had an epidural so i can pull the trump card there my guy uh and let me tell you that it's the rare that is not something you want to do unless you're uh up against it it's a pretty serious thing the procedure to get although the weirdest part uh for the 90 of my mail my listeners who have not had one is you still kind of feel your legs when you say it's kind of like a weird feeling where you're like kind of numb, but you're not really numb.
29:30So it's like, and then you're like, Oh God, am I going to feel pregnancy? It's like, no, no, you just don't feel your legs or you feel your legs, but you don't feel the parts that get hurt. God, I can't imagine doing that without that. Also, it goes down one of your sides more than the other sometimes, which is really confusing. So one of my legs was like dead legged and the other one was kind of like, I know, Chris, our producer just had a baby. She's probably listening to this. Anyways, it was a it's a very strange experience uh on that note i everything they're saying is that he's fine the other big piece of news by the way is that they do sound um uh confident that alrick jackson their left tackle is going to be ready if not week one right after that god hopes he is week one against the houston texans uh but um yeah that's big that's like gotten slept on i feel like matthew stafford is a player you really want to have past protection for at this point in his career.
30:23Uh, so maybe it's a little risky, but I still have them winning division. So the, the only thing I don't love is I just feel like this whole division is really close. They're like so clustered together, like more so than any other division in the NFL. I feel like all the NFC West teams are like right by each other. So I'm, I'm very interested to see how we slot the last two teams in the NFC West with that in mind, because it seems like there's a lot of Cardinals hype going into this season, but always. Okay. Well, you're next. Be bold. take the Cardinals, my guy. Yeah, no, I would like to do that, but I feel like we're at the point now where this, like, and again, we've gone a few here where it's just like, take the best team, but I'll go ahead and take the Buccaneers here.
31:05I think they're going to win the division again. I almost took them instead of the Rams. That was part of my Denver calculus as I saw, all right, I've got the Rams or the Bucs. I'll feel good about either because both can win the division and give points. I thought that's who you were going to take when you were like, I've been thinking about going this route. I thought you meant like the NFC South route, which is take the team that's going to win the NFC South. The Bucs have the 26th hardest schedule in football. Yep. And a team like, listen, you know, a third offensive coordinator in three years, it just seems to be the place where future head coaches come to hang out with Baker Mayfield for a year.
31:37But, you know, Liam Cohen is incredible. Like I, I, I remember calling a Kentucky game in 2021 and walking out of the meeting with Liam Cohen, who was the offensive coordinator then with Will Levis during the good year and thinking oh yeah this guy's going to be a head coach I don't know if it's in college I don't know where but this guy's going to be a head coach so feel very vindicated off that but like this offense I think is pretty recession proof and going through the transition like Graham Barton really helps solidify the line as long as Tristan Wirfs as you pointed out in the open is off the pup list and going to be ready to go this is a group you can lean on up front Bucky Irving was awesome last year and it sounds like the talk of camp was a Mecca Buka who, man, you can never, ever go wrong.
32:21Drafting the Ohio state receiver, like when in doubt, just draft the Ohio state receiver. You know, your heir apparent to the Chris Godwin thrown there still Mike Evans on the outside going for a grand every year. So I think that offense is going to rip again. The injuries worry me a little bit, right? Like when they drafted a Mecca Buka, it was like, Oh man, they're going to play four, not enough footballs to go around and then boom, it's like God was already boom, Jaylee millions hurt. So they're going to need him. Jason lights very good at his job. Right. Um, but, and I still have some concerns about the pass rush and the defense, but like I, the team might have winning the division.
32:57So at minimum you get that. All right. I'm up next. Um, this to me is going to be kind of like a little bit of a lottery pick. I'm going to take the bangles here. Yep. The most lopsided team in football, a team that is going to have to win a lot of games by a lot of points. So this pick makes me very nervous. However, a team that because of the offense and the quarterback, if they get into the dance could outlast anyone hypothetically, I'm not saying I would pick them, but the potential is always there because of the stars that they have on that side of the ball. Yeah. I mean, it's the team that famously brought you, you know, can the quarterback do it without an offensive line comes, can the offense do it without a defense?
33:36Like it just, the Bengals have flown in the face of what I have seen as conventional wisdom surrounding how to play football off the strength of Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, and Tee Higgins. And so you're right. There is still a small part of me, even though I look and say, I'm not going to expect anything meaningful out of them because of what I just said. And they've tried to address the offensive line. Like this is less a commentary on that anymore as it is like, they just decided we're going to put all our money into offense and the defense can go kick rocks. We'll get Trey Hendrickson back for one more year to be the lone soldier.
34:06But I don't know. I get it's only preseason, but those pictures that we'd see week after week of the biggest holes known to mankind carved through the first string Bengals defense don't look like they're a Trey Hendrickson away from closing. Yeah, I don't usually get fantasy advice on this pod, but boy, I'm going to try to get every piece of the Bengals offense I can because they're going to have to put up a lot of yards in the passing game. All right. 14. What you got? Boy, this is, this is where it's going to start to get tricky. Yeah, I know. These, these are the teams where they could go in.
34:41I'd say like the middle from like 14 through 22 or three, you could go in any order. This is all vibes. Yep. I'm going to go with that in mind. Hmm.
34:58All right. This is another one just because it's kind of a wild card there. I'll take Jacksonville here. We clearly did a lot of the same research looking at advanced numbers. So look at the schedules. Jack's a very easy schedule. Yes. Very easy schedule. You know, the offensive line is still a worry, but Rob Hainsey comes over from Tampa. I think it was better than he got credit for there. That's a little Notre Dame homerism in there. Pat McCurry they brought over from Baltimore. Good pedigree guys, and I think Liam just knows what he's doing on offense. I think especially leaning on that one unit, they made it clear Travis Hunter's a wide receiver first and a cornerback second.
35:36You put him and Brian Thomas Jr. there, and I'm just really interested to see what it looks like. They won't be able to do the same things they did because personnel-wise they're not as strong in the run game aspects as they were in Tampa last year, but I think Liam's good at this, so I'm very curious to see what it looks like. All right, pick 15. So we're outside the playoffs now. Yep. Give me the Los Angeles Chargers here. Yep. I feel like the vibes on the Chargers are really bad right now because of the Rashawn Slater injury, and that is fair. But I think this defense is at least going to be average.
36:13Just a quick note, like, you know, because I didn't put them in my top 10, and they did finish top 10 last year, and I had to eat a lot of crow. I had a bet with Greg Rosenthal about that. It's so obvious that Jesse Minter is amazing at his job when you watch them play in person. So they, we had the chargers week two. And so it was mostly, there were a couple of reps with the starters, but it was a lot of the second and third string. They just don't make mistakes the way like, like most backups do. I don't know how to put it. Like they're just very fundamentally sound. Do I think there'll be great on defense?
36:43No. Do I think the offense can hit its ceiling without Richon Slater? Also no, but give me the balanced team with a good coaching staff and a great quarterback. I'll take it. That Jesse Minner point is so true. And I remember this was when I was going through training camp at the Steelers, Ramon Foster, who was a veteran there for a long time, was watching film with a bunch of rookies and talked about, he's like during the preseason, he's like, you don't obviously have a lot of tape on the guys you're going to go against in the second and third group, but in good coach programs, you're going to see the same stuff reflected through the front of the back end of the roster.
37:13And we know that's varying degrees based on how quality these guys are. but the Chargers, it shows up. They clearly teach and communicate things in a way that is so accessible for these guys regardless of the level of skill, which you could also say, hey, listen, you've got to have good personnel, but it's just clearly so well taught there to where you're right. You just saw them have answers for everything every time. There wasn't a hair out of place no matter who was in there. I also feel like between Trey Harris and Keandre Lambert, one of those guys I think will be the receiver that they want to win deep and outside the numbers and don't know which one necessarily, to be honest, but I do like that additions.
37:52I kind of like the Keenan Allen acquisition to that end too. Just like having the vet in the room with a bunch of young guys. Like again, it's redundant him and Lad McConkie in the slot and all that, but like this off season, looking around the NFL and seeing like a team like the Falcons do this with, with Leonard Floyd going to James Pierce and Jalen Walker, like a well-placed vet with some rookie talent that you want to do well to me goes a long way. Because I was talking to Malik Neighbors in New York when I was out there at Giants camp, and he talked about how much he's learned about being a pro from just having Russell Wilson around, like all the stuff you do away from the field, how you take care of yourself, the team he's got around him.
38:30Like hearing him rave about the impact that had in all these meaningful areas as a professional was a reminder. Like that stuff's learned. The first thing they tell you when you get to camp is hug a vet, learn their process, do these things. And so I think having one of those close is good. Don't actually hug them though. That might get you kicked off team. All right. Final pick of the first half is you 16. Who are you going to take? I.
39:00Man.
39:04Oh man.
39:10I'm going to go Seattle here. I'm taking my Seahawks from me. I feel like they're one of the teams where the preseason has kind of revived people's interest and enthusiasm in them. Yeah, I mean, Clinton, the offense, it clearly looks like it's had the desired effect. Gray's able stands, Unite, he looks awesome. it's a run scheme that I think is going to be a market improvement over last year where they were really struggling to find looks and sets that they were comfortable operating out of schemes that they were comfortable running with and yeah I get you lost a ton of personnel at wide receiver but I don't know man the defense on the other side I think is going to be nasty this year so I'm I'm I'm bullish on the floor for that team for the exact reasons you mentioned like it's all preseason propaganda for me.

Mike, as a reminder, you have the Chiefs, Ravens, Niners, Commanders, Broncos, Bucks, Jags, Seahawks.
41:49I like your draft so much better than mine. It's fine. It's fine. Whatever. This is why I'm bad at fantasy. I just panic. I just panic and I just make decisions. The Texans, I didn't even want to take them there. I don't know why I did it. All right. Pick 17. I'm going to go with a high variance pick here because I just want to take shots. Give me the Minnesota Vikings. Ooh, okay. Because if that young quarterback is merely above average, this team should win a lot of football games. Question is, is he above average? No one knows. No, but again, to your point, betting on coaching staff's infrastructure, KOC's got the juice.
42:33When you guys did your coaching rankings, I remember kind of going through that exercise myself, and I just kind of kept coming back to – and listen, part of it is we're victims to what we hear in the public, and he's a guy that speaks really well to the media. We get the mic'd up stuff of him talking to other quarterbacks, but he just seems to have that EQ stuff that makes me bet that, hey, a quarterback that thrived in an environment where you had a healthy run game around him and some potent weapons that really only had to do what was required of him could go into a similarly well-positioned place that invested a lot in their offensive line to help fix the problems that they ran into at the back half of last season.
43:06So top seven, eight ish defense. I had them higher than mine, but I feel like that's a reasonable expectation, even with the questions about the quarterback group. I mean, I'm going to trust the coaching there. I don't love the division, obviously I think there's a world in which the Bears are better At the end of the season If they progress the way I think they will But yeah, I just think We just saw this team Obviously they're a prime regression candidate Given the amount of games they won And the one-score games and all of that But I just think The infrastructure is too good And again, if he's like
43:47Let's say like Brock Purdy his first season. It's a playoff team. If he's what he was at Michigan, like he wasn't a world beater at Michigan. He was good enough in the moments they needed him to make a play to go do that. Like it's not outside of him. Well, if he's Brock Purdy, he's a rookie year. He'd be like statistically one of his quarterbacks. That was a silly thing to say, but okay. You're up 18. Hmm.
44:19Well, I feel like here. So you have – do you have three of the four teams in the NFC North? Yeah, I do. All right, I'll take the Bears just for a wild card run in that one. Again, just another team that like – the last preseason start for Caleb was a little bit of a mixed bag. Like there was enough good stuff this preseason, and I like the upgrades they made at certain positions. One of the other teams that's kind of doubling down on the too tight end stuff that seems to be making a real comeback around the league right now. And defensively, they seem fired up about what Dennis Allen's brought there.
44:57So I think all of that stuff, I'm a little, I'm with you. Like again, in upside territory, the Bears absolutely sold me with their offseason and preseason. I mean, I just also believe with the Bears, they could be significantly better in the second half of the season. I mean, you know, difficult start week one against Minnesota defense. There could be like people might be freaking out early on. And I'm here to say right now, relax, because I really think that this is going to work with the new coaching staff. It might just take a second. You know, new offensive, the offensive line is entirely different.
45:27The way the skill players are being used is different. But, you know, I've seen enough of the Ben Johnson, Caleb Williams marriage in this preseason to be enthusiastic about it. I just think there could be some ups and downs. And like, I also, the defense to me is being slept on. I wish I had talked about them as a potential top 10 unit, because the more I've looked at them and thought about Dennis, Dennis Allen's style of play and how it fits with the secondary in particular, the better I feel. People, when I was out there for camp, now this was pretty early on in camp, but a lot of people were circling, uh, peanut Tillman was a guy did a show with the Bleacher Report.
45:59And a lot of people very excited about what Jervon Dexter's potential could be in that defense as a guy who's got some like splash, get up the field, three techniques stuff in a defense that lets you pin your ears back a little bit. So, but yeah, attention to detail is completely different around there. And you're right. Offensive line that hasn't played a snap together of meaningful NFL football in a preseason where usually the first quarter of the year is like an extended preseason anyway. It's going to look rough at the beginning, but I totally believe that, which is why I picked them. So pick 19.
46:28I will take the Steelers here. Ooh. Okay. I am not an Aaron Rodgers optimist at this point. I think I've made that pretty clear, but the whole case for the Steelers, which is a team that got to the playoffs last year with, you know, quarterback play that was obviously up and down. Why wouldn't they at least hit that mark with Aaron Rodgers? I think there's some logic to it. We talked about it earlier in the week. I think the defense could be good. I really do. Whether or not they have fixed their Ravens problem and run defense. I am not sure of, but I think with them, there's a good chance they can get into the playoffs and then it just comes down to matchups.
47:09And the pass rush is still good. The secondary could be improved. I liked the Ramsey addition. And we'll see about this offense, man. I think we'll know early on if it's completely what the Arthur Smith-Aaron Rodgers combination looks like and whether or not they can run the football, which is, I think, my biggest interest in watching them early on. And if they can, if the run game is improved, though, I do think that this is a team that should be able to make it to the playoffs. Based on the parts involved, like if Broderick Jones can just go out there and be consistent, the rest of that group to me is enough.
47:45Like Zach Frazier, really positive development last year. Troy Fautano's got to stay on the field healthy, but you and I both liked him as a former UW guy. So it's going to be interesting. You're going to learn tight end around there. That's for damn sure. All right. All right. Pick 20. By the way, speaking of learning tight end, have you looked at Darnell Washington lately?
48:12He should be illegal. That thing is terrifying. I mean, he's not a tight end. No. God, he's a sure-handed offensive tackle. I have him in Dynasty. I took him at the very end of my draft the year he was when it's just you're just taking guys um and one of these days i'm going to be forced to stream it i just know it already and it better be the day he catches a touchdown off of play fake in the lower right area that's all i have to say darnell man just gain the next 20 pounds put your left hand down and let's acquire riches does he have to gain 20 pounds because what he's listed at i'm just gonna look it up well that says 265 that's obviously not true the lie detector test is determined.
48:58That's a lie. All right. Wait, hold on. Agent's take. Why do I know Washington should change positions to make more money? That's a good take. I like that. I'm telling you, man. You'll make infinitely more. And look, he's a... Oh, this is Daniel Jeremiah came up with this. Listen. Hey, great minds. Not a bad take. All right. Sorry, you're up. Pick 20. Wow. Pick 20. Yeah. All right. In the interest of trying to speed it up a little bit here.
49:36I'll go.
49:41I'll go Atlanta here. Okay. Most of this is just Bajon Robinson. Like last year was the fourth leading rusher in the NFL. And I didn't realize this until I was studying them this off season. and obviously it's become well talked about now, but career long for rushing only 38 yards in the NFL is sort of amazing. Like some of that, I know people have talked about like scheme. They're almost exclusively an outside, which Dwayne Ledford, their coach is one of the best outside zone offensive line coaches that exists. This is such a niche take, but like he was the Mekhi Becton maker back at NC State.
50:18Like when he was coming out, Mekhi had his great year. That was Dwayne. The NC State groups were always incredible. and it's no secret they are the best outside zone running offensive line. Caleb McGarry down for a bit right now. I was just about to say, that worries me about Atlanta. I'm looking at the depth. I'm just like, who's going to? Because they also, yeah, I'm not sure who's going to play for them. No, but the way I view Atlanta is offensively, there's so much talent, obviously, first-round talent. They've stockpiled all over the place. Drake London is awesome. Bajon Robinson, I mean, could very easily lead the NFL in rushing this year.
50:54I wouldn't be surprised at all. Last year they were hampered by a quarterback that couldn't move at all. I know you guys talked about it on here formationally. They didn't do much different with Michael Penix Jr. when he got in there, but I think that's more of a late season thing where it's just like you're not going to completely reinstall stuff then. So I think that – and like the defense is one I think can get better. They decided they were going to just, you know, lizard, lizard, lizard, keep picking defensive ends in the first round. Xavier Watts, my Notre Dame guy, going to be a help on the back end.
51:24So I think the defense can improve enough to supplement an offense that I think should be very good. Yeah, I don't hate this pick. I also think it's the NFC South still. So if all those things happen, given the division, the level of competition, the ease of the schedule, they could absolutely win a lot of games. I'm just skeptical about the defense and then the offensive line thing worries me a lot. Okay. Pick 21. Deciding between two teams here. I am going to take... Screw it. I'm going to take the Dallas Cowboys. Oh! I was really hoping they'd fall one more for me. I think Michael Parsons is going to be signed, so it's stupid.
52:11I just think, and we're going to get into this obviously on the week one preview pod because they're going up against the Eagles. If Pickens is Pickens, this passing attack is really, really difficult to stop. I think there's reasonable questions about the offensive line, the run game, the run defense that still persist, but you can do worse than having one of the best wide receiver duos in football with a top 10 ish quarterback. and then arguably the best pass rusher in the NFL. So it's a flawed team. It's an even team. I don't know what to think of the coaching staff, but I'll take the top-end talent.
52:53It just sounds like diet bangles. Yeah. The Cowboys are diet bangles with a better pass rusher when he's healthy. And a better defense. They were really injured last year. Again, still major worries about the sort of spine and the front in particular. Did you see Trevon Diggs was activated? Yes. That's big for them. We'll see what he looks like coming off of the injury. But at least they have good – like Duran Bland. The Bengals would kill for a Duran Bland. So they at least have good – Osa Diggizoa. The Bengals would just do anything to have a player like Osa on the inside next to Trey Hendrickson.
53:35Nope. Tyler Guyton also back out at practice too, which is good news for them. Yeah, that's huge. All right, 22. Oh God. Um, all right. I got a bunch of NFC here. Do I need a little AFC blood mixed in here? I'll, uh, I'll go to England. Okay. Yeah. I figured they'd go around here. Yeah. This seems like the right spot, especially considering some of the other items on the menu. Um, I, I know the preseasons probably soured things a little bit in terms of how people view them. overall. What did I see here? Jalen Polk is going to start the year on IR. Kendrick Bourne's nursing and injury. Kyle Wilson's been banged up during camp.
54:22The receiving options around Drake May are still not overly enticing, but up front, it looks like they're going to have that renewed identity. Will Campbell's come in and helped them set the tone early on here. I think they'll be able to count on that and then drake may was awesome last year when the team sucked so he's got a better coaching staff around him and they've kind of like college football like portaled this roster like crazy to turn over and churn it really quick and now like the other thing i looked up that was crazy it's it looks like drake may is going to be the only member of the 2024 draft class that's back on that team this year like so like when you get to the depth it's kind of brutal at this point for them, but I'll take a flyer.
55:03Very easy schedule. Vegas likes them too. I think all the reasons you laid out there are good reasons why. All right. I'm going to go with the last team in the NFC West. I'll take the Cardinals here. um a team that was a lot better last year than people knew starting with that uh and was very up against it on defense so they went out and added a lot of talent there despite being like the hipster favorite uh defense also offensively i mean you know i them being better than people knew. I'm sure, I think they were like 11th in offense at DOVOA. Let me check. They were 12th overall. Wow. 11th on offense, 14th on defense.
55:59I think that would just surprise most people who killed them. But if you can get Kyler Murray scrambling more, you get something more out of consistency out of Marvin Harrison Jr. And then the defense has the ability to be more normal with like a legit pass rusher and Josh Sweat and Walter Nolan hasn't played yet. But yeah, I just think they're also a team, Mike, where they could totally win the division. Like I said, I think NAF and his US team too good. But they also could be like a sneaky tough out in a playoff game because they're so unique in terms of the ability to run the football, Trey McBride as a matchup problem, and then the defense just being weird.
56:40I feel like they could come up with a weird, bespoke game plan for someone. So, okay, I'm going to take the Cardinals. It's a great pick. What they've done kind of overhauling the D-line I think is going to be really interesting. Walter Nolan Jr., man, on his best day, was one of the scariest forces in college football last year. I know there's some inconsistency stuff, but I like bringing Calais Campbell back again, the right vet around the right rookie. Yeah. Well, I love that they brought back Campbell and Tomlinson. It's like, okay, we have young players who would be great if they're something, but we also have older players to sort of hedge that a bit.
57:16I would say, was it Darius Robinson who was injured most of last year? Yeah, he's in play, yeah. Now that too, so. Will Johnson's been playing, so yeah. God, if that pick hits too, what an absolute gift falling to that. Yeah, a steal, I know. All right, 24. 24, I'll go Raiders here. I'm very bought into the AFC West. I think that's my third AFC West team. Oh, yeah. This is another one. Again, if it hits right, I have real concerns about the defense, the offensive line, but as someone that also believes Geno's got good ball to have him, Brock Bowers, you've got the Jacoby – as of our recording today, Jacoby Myers requested a trade.
57:56They re-signed Amari Cooper. This is another team – we talk about the too tight end thing where a lot of these programs – Michael Mayer back in really good shape seems like he's in a good headspace to go along with Brock Bowers and Ashton Gentry is a lot of fun. Chip Kelly stuff that I'm interested to see. The Jacoby thing, Jacoby Myers trade request just feels like him recognizing he has a lot of leverage in this offense. Cause they're so thin at receiver. Um, and he's making like 10 or$11 million this year. I feel like they could just throw him if they, even if they don't want to do an extension, cause he only is he's on a one year, his one year left on his current deal.
58:35They could just throw him a little money and satisfy that. So it feels more like a leverage play to me than anything else. Yeah. Raiders offense. I've talked about a lot. Should be fun. A lot of concerns about the defense, but the pass rush at least will be, I think pretty good. But the offense I think is going to take a lot of people by surprise and they're going to be really unconventional as well. Right. It's going to be a very multiple tight end, heavy offense. You got a quarterback. He's very aggressive. Loves throwing to tight ends. You see that throw to Dante Thornton. Oh my God. Who, by the way, like he's kind of been the surprise.
59:08of cap for them at wide receiver, it sounds like. I know they drafted Jack Besch out of TCU a little higher, but Thornton seems like he's going to be the guy. 1:01:15all right pick 25 here i'm gonna take the miami dolphins um so i kind of have i went back and forth between the dolphins and the pats in terms of like who would be second to the bills in the afc east the pats are the trendy pick for a lot of reasons mention them but the more i looked at the dolphins the more i thought yeah but they could just win a ton of games i mean the offense when Tua came back last year was really... They weren't explosive, but they were really efficient. They tried to improve the offensive line. We'll see if that works. This is still a really good pass rush now with everybody playing.
1:01:55Secondary is a problem. No question about that. It is one of the worst cornerback rooms in the league. But I feel like this Michael McDaniel with his back against the wall is going to find a way to improve the run game. And I think the offense can still be... you know, if not top 10 close to it. Yeah. This is a team where the vibes have been horrible, but to your point, like you just go back and look when two is on the field, the offense functions fine. I know for all the questions that we've had about two is importance relative to the offense over the years, like you take them off the field and it's gone to hell, which I don't know what that says about, you know, the entire Mike McDaniels coach complex and all the stuff that we've said and thought about him over the years, but now I'm with you.
1:02:37They stay healthy. it generally tends to work all right. All right. So that was pick 25. Here are the remaining teams. For those who have forgotten, I'm going to mix up my order, throw you off my scent. Giants, Panthers, Colts, Browns, Saints, Titans, Jets. Woof, woof. Yeah. Woof. All right. We're going bargain hunting. With that in mind, I'll go Colts here. Yeah. It's the right pick, I think. Yeah. And yeah, I've only got the Jags in the South. So, you know, we got the Daniel Jones experience here where in bizarre turn of events, he has become the poster of consistency apparently now in the NFL.
1:03:25Stabilizing, of course. Giants fans have to be sitting here like, what in the good damn is going on? But yeah, you know, offensive line lost some parts from last year that now live in Minnesota, which is important, but I think some of the best ones are still there. They extended Bernard Raymond, who's been awesome, continuing to develop there at left tackle. Quentin Nelson's still at left guard. All the quarterbacks can scoot. We've talked about that. That's going to be how the offense tries to live, so we'll see. I like the Colts defense. I think that they'll be at minimum above average. Or average, pardon me.
1:04:01I like the pieces they've added. I think Luana Rumo, giving him some veterans to work with on the back end is going to really help on that side of the ball. I'm going to take the Panthers here. Like it. Very nervous about this defense, even with Derek Brown back in the lineup. But I saw enough about the offense to feel like they can at least be feisty. What do you think about the Adam Thielen trade stuff? I feel like why mess with it? Just keep him in the building. Completely agree. It would take a lot for me to consider picking up the phone for that one because, again, he was the lifeline for Bryce Young in a sport where now, like, I mean, Tedrow McMillan during the preseason, some of those deep ball sideline stuff there, it really seems like that could be a lot of fun.
1:04:53They did the dirty work of paying the offensive line last year. So I'm pretty bullish that he can be the guy. I don't know about the long-term future, but end up as one of those guys in the range where you kind of end up having to pay him because there aren't always a ton of better options out there. Yeah. I wonder with feeling is like there seems like a lot of teams are really desperate for receiver help. So maybe the feeling is we're like deep. We got Jalen Coker and T-Mac and Leggett. But I don't know. I just feel like he plays such a specific role in the offense. And just, I feel, you know, like he did.
1:05:29I feel like with the Bryce Young situation from last year, it's like, okay, nobody move. Just no set of movements. Let's just keep this going, right? Let's not expose him to any adversity. Let's, you know, he had a great second half. Let's keep building. So that's all. All right. 28, you're up. I'll go Giants here. just because that defensive line is going to eat people's faces all season long. And there seems to be a little promise around the Jackson's art situation. Maybe showed some good flashes during the season. Obviously not going to be the starter right away, but at this range, it's really more, do you have one thing I can count on?
1:06:07And what I can count on is opposing quarterbacks. Like, good luck. Watching this group and watching them in particular rush against, like, the Bills starters and see the kind of success even without decks in the middle that they had was terrifying. Yeah. The, we talked about the Abdul Carter on Dion Dawkins reps, um, terrifying indeed. Um, giants have the hardest schedule in football. So there's a little bit of risk. That's been much discussed that comes with that. We also don't know when darts going to play. I drafted him in dynasty by the way. So I have a piece of Jackson tart now I'm invested, but um the defensive line can absolutely win games on their own no question in my mind against bad offensive lines come on um i'm gonna take the titans here uh part because this is just purely a cam word bet but i also felt like in the preseason the offensive line looked competent in front of him i think that position group could take a nice little jump this season.
1:07:14I also, when I did the AFC South Pot, I was pretty down on the defense. I don't think they're, however, like one of the worst defenses in football. I think that there's issues and they're missing like a star edge rusher. Cornerback group has some holes, but there are enough competent veterans there. Obviously, Jeffrey Simmons being the leader that they shouldn't be the sort of train wreck that forces Cam Ward into like the worst field position in the league. So yeah, give me, Give me some Cam Ward. Oh, wow. This is where Kevin Zeitler lives. Interesting. And JC Latham back on the right side. I think he's going to go a long way for that guy.
1:07:50Next to Zeitler, too. I like the way I know Dan Moore Jr. People don't like the contract, but he's a competent player. And they're all playing for Bill Callahan, and that matters a ton. All right. Three picks left. It's between the Browns, Jets, and Saints.
1:08:14I guess I'll pick. I think I'll pick the Browns. Really? Yeah. Okay. Maybe get a little bit of that Joe Flacco magic from a few years ago if the offensive line isn't a mash unit again. Carson Swessinger has gotten some good pub at linebacker in relief of JOK who's hurt. Like, Miles Garrett still lives there. Denzel Ward still lives there. So, I mean. A lot of the draft picks looked really good on Saturday, admittedly against the Rams, pardon me, like second and third stringers. So there was a bit of a talent discrepancy in our game. But I thought Schwestinger looked good. Fannin Jr. looked good.
1:08:56Samson caught a pass, which is good to see. I thought Gabriel looked really good. God, watching everyone be – I can't wait for the regular season to start so we can stop all being big, weird freaks about the Shudor Sanders situation. It's been the most disgusting internet slop on planet Earth watching that toxic conversation happen on my timeline every weekend. I talked about this on the fantasy, the Ringer fantasy show with the Dannys. But there's just every now and then a story where people who don't closely follow the sport get involved, and then it just gets dumb. And I think that's just an example of it's like, Kaelin Clark, Tebow.
1:09:40Like, it's just, you know, like I'm not saying like, these are comparable, obviously, but you know, it's just like, you get a lot of people who don't understand the, um, nature of the sport. Like the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
1:10:04I mean, anyways, we'd have to get into it. It's a lot. And it makes you kind of feel bad for everybody involved. I feel bad for him to some extent, to Gabriel, to the staff. It's just – I mean, Kevin Stefanski got asked in a real press scrum about the fan rumors of him sabotaging you should do it. Stop. He got asked that question in real life. No, that's horrible. I think, again, I think Mary Kay Cabot was the one that had to deliver the question. but like the fact that it was enough of a thing to where he apparently got asked about that is wild. I also like, let me defend store for a second. Cause he gave a quote where they were like, he said, obviously I'm in the team.
1:10:44But then when you look back and asked it, the question was just like, do you feel like you belong? He's like, obviously like it wasn't like that cocky. And when I read his entire transcript, he just like all the sacks were my fault. Like, and now no one quoted that. I didn't see that. Did you see that on your timeline? Nope. like that's the like that's what you want to hear from you know I just I again I whatever the whole thing is just stupid all right Dylan Gabriel is clearly QB2 in my mind I'm surprised though I would have taken the Jets before them so I'm gonna take the Jets here um just because I think we're gonna get bounced back to some extent from the defense under Aaron Glenn and offensively if they can just run the ball it could be a tough out I think this is the Jets look I'm not optimistic about them, obviously, and it certainly hasn't looked great in the preseason, but I think they're a team that can just drag teams into the slop, and thus, coached by a guy who likes to live in that, so likes to get mud fights.
1:11:45I was a man who MacGyvered the hell out of the back half of last season, so if anyone can cobble together some paperclips and rubber bands and make the Jets work, and honestly, that run game could be, I mean, Justin Fields is incredible as a part of the rushing attack, the passing stuff. I think we're kind of far enough into his career where we sort of know who he is. And I don't think the Jets franchise is going to be the place that revives a quarterback streams, but they put a bunch of like, I think there's three first round picks on the Jets offensive line, including the offensive line could be good.
1:12:16Like the bookend tackles between Membu and Olufoshana were two of my favorite guys from the last few draft class. Like that should be a good young unit. My question for them is just Justin Fields. Are you willing to like carry the football at a pace? You know, like I, cause I think it felt like in Pittsburgh, he didn't want to, it's kind of like, well, I was like constantly confused why he didn't run more. This is it, bud. Like, right. Tote that rock because that's how this offense succeeds. Okay. You have the final pick and there's only one team left. So the New Orleans saints, Spencer Rattler led New York.
1:12:52Well, I wouldn't know. Sorry. It hasn't been announced yet, but it sure looks like the rat man is going to be back there. The agenda. All right. The agenda is alive. I have also Rattler and Dynasty. It's the saddest Dynasty team. Okay. I have Jared Goff, and then it's like the most bad news bears. Let me read to you who are my quarterbacks. Sorry. I know no one cares, but Jared Goff. Great. Derek Carr retired, but I'm keeping him in case he unretires. Spencer Rattler, Jameis Winston, Sam Howell, and Jackson Dart. It's a two-quarterback league, I should mention. Okay, gotcha. All right, that makes a little more sense.
1:13:30I also have Derrick Henry and Saquon, who regularly out-earn most, out-score most quarterbacks. All right, recap. Here are my team. I'll do mine first, and then I'll read yours because I have the first overall pick. The Mina Kimeshow 2025 team draft team, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Buffalo Bills, the Detroit Lions, the Green Bay Packers, the Houston Texans, the LA Rams, the Cincinnati Bengals, the LA Chargers, the Vikings, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Arizona Cardinals, the Miami Dolphins, the Carolina Panthers, the Tennessee Titans, and the New York Jets. Mike's team. The Kansas City Chiefs, the Baltimore Ravens, the San Francisco 49ers, Washington Commanders, Denver Broncos, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints.
1:14:34You got a lot of the teams I came here in here planning to draft. I just say that. Wow. So you just went rogue on your own draft. I did. Yeah. I literally, I've, I've like Patriots easiest schedule, like minors draft them before. Hate myself. Honestly, that was my draft strategy last year was I had a plan and then just completely went away from it. So sometimes it works out. All right. Well, folks, we will of course go back after the Superbowl and revisit this. Sam Hoppin.
