In short
Nick Bear relaunches his fitness training app on September 6, 2026, hosted on Playbook. He explains why the relaunch is happening, what’s changing, pricing, and how the new “G1M Daily” experience works (weekly Sunday workout drops plus ongoing community content).
Guest backgrounds
No guests are mentioned; it’s a solo episode by Nick Bear.
Key claims
The app is more than workout hosting—it’s built to improve consistency (“Go One More”). Historical subscribers keep access to the same Playbook app but get a new experience. Weekly workouts should be done together in real time; don’t “stack” missed days—resume where the program is at. Strength workouts should be prioritized if time/equipment is limited.
Notable examples
“G1M Daily” six workouts/week (bench/row, easy run, squat/deadlift/core, High Rocks AMRAP, overhead/pull-up, long run). Example week includes 45–60 min runs and ~1-hour strength sessions. Hybrid Athlete 1.0 stats: 3.1M starts, 1M completions, 4.9/5 rating. Cost: $14.99/month or $99/year.

0:15Nick Bare:Now, I've been teasing this on Instagram for the last couple of weeks now, and I'm pleased and excited to announce that I am relaunching my fitness training app September 6th, 2026. Now I've had my fitness training app since around 2020. So why am I relaunching it? I'm going to go into that, but I'm also going to answer some frequently asked questions that cover the app, the launch, the programs, the training, what's in it, what it costs, everything in this episode. I put a pull up on my Instagram story a few days ago. I got a bunch of questions. So my goal with this episode is to answer those questions in preparation for the launch September 6th, 2026.
1:21Nick Bare:The relaunch, why am I relaunching the app? Now, like I said, I launched my fitness training app around 2020 on this platform called Playbook. and since 2020, I have had training programs uploaded into this app and there have been tens of thousands of people who have started and completed workouts. This relaunch will be the same app. It's still hosted on Playbook. If you have been a subscriber for years, you don't have to do anything different. you will get the new experience as a historical subscriber. Same app, same platform. Like I said, it's on a platform and it's powered by Playbook. So if you go to the app store, you'll download the Playbook app.
2:24Nick Bare:But it's easiest to download through my website and I'll have a link on all my socials when we launch. The website is nickbearfitness.app, A-P-P, nickbearfitness.app. And I launched it in 2020. I uploaded a bunch of my training programs, hybrid athlete training programs, combination of strength training, weightlifting, bodybuilding, running, track workouts, hybrid training. at its best, what I love. And I put a lot of time, a lot of energy into the app in 2020 when I launched. And to be honest, what happened is my priorities just shifted. BPN and building BPN on a daily basis just took up more and more and more of my time as expected.
3:22Nick Bare:The company was growing really, really fast at that point. Between 2019 and 2020, we grew 400 % in that year. It was a crazy year. So what ended up happening was I launched the app and then BPN was growing. We were hiring more people, building out the teams. I was hand-to-hand combat in the business and the training app ended up getting deprioritized for me. I built it. I structured all these workouts. People have been doing those same workouts for five, six years now. And I haven't updated it much since then. There've been a few times where I've gone in and added new workouts or revamped some things, but I haven't had the bandwidth, the time, the energy to really dedicate a lot of time to it.
4:19Nick Bare:So over this last year, my role within BPN has shifted. We've hired some really talented key team members, experienced team members, leadership team members, and they have taken on a lot of my day-to-day responsibilities in the business, which I am so grateful and fortunate for, which means I can now focus my time and energy within my zone of genius, what I love to do and what I'm uniquely gifted to do in my opinion. That is creating content, YouTube videos, training, educating, documenting, podcasts, helping, supporting, sharing you guys along your health, fitness, life journey to reach your goals, to grow, to develop, to mature, to get better, to go one more.
5:24I'm now in a season of life and a chapter of business where I can choose what I work on. And I'm so fortunate and grateful for that opportunity. and it's only because, like I said, we have found and hired the right people. I have a really amazing and solid team. So I'm now shifting some of my time back to the training app. Still, a lot of my time is dedicated towards building BPN and working with the team, but I have some more bandwidth, some more creative bandwidth and energy to shift back into the app. And that's what I'm doing. And that's why it's a relaunch.
6:16Nick Bare:I believe a relaunch is necessary because the experience that I want to create and build in this app is going to be much different than what has been currently offered these last couple of years. My involvement in the app on a weekly basis is going to be a much different experience for you guys than it has been the last couple of years. So that's why I'm relaunching it. It's going to be a different experience. It's going to help you guys on a different level. And I'll explain how, why, and what. So what's the goal of the app? you know it's it's it's go one more it's a training philosophy it's a mindset it's a daily practice it's much more and i want it to be much more than just a fitness training workout resource i want to share my training with you guys what i'm doing on a weekly basis I want to help you reach your goals.
7:33I want to support you to be more consistent. Something I've been obsessed with in this past year has been consistency because I've seen the powerful impact of what being consistent in your life can produce. That is, in my opinion, one of my greatest strengths, consistency.
7:58Nick Bare:establishing and building systems, sticking to those systems and then experiencing the outcomes of what being consistent does in your life. I want you to have that. I've asked the question so many times on Instagram stories and polls, what do people struggle with? Why do you think you're not getting to where you want to be? What is that interference that is holding you back? from achieving to succeeding to winning. And the most commonly dropped response is lack of consistency. So I've been racking my brain over these last couple months. How do I help people be more consistent? More content is part of it.
8:50The right content is part of it. And then I thought back to this training app
8:56Nick Bare:that I've had for five to six years now, that's a great platform and resource and community builder to help people be more consistent. I want to put everything that's in my mind, everything that's in my brain into this app over time. I want to share the way I think about training and workouts and exercise selection and nutrition and diet and mindset. What do I tell myself when I wake up at 5 a.m. every morning to go for a run and I don't want to? How do I overcome that challenge?
9:37What is it within my mind and brain that allows me to keep showing up day in and day out? and I want to package that up and create resources, documents, videos, audio messages, courses, frequently asked questions in this app experience to help you guys be more consistent and successful.
10:09Like I said, I want this to be much more than
10:15Nick Bare:a platform that hosts workouts and exercises and training programs. I've had this calling on my heart recently
10:32that I want to help people, but specifically men in a similar season of life that I'm in, maybe younger, maybe older, but I'm learning so much in this season of life. Being a leader, being a father, being a husband, an entrepreneur,
10:59Nick Bare:someone who highly prioritizes their health, wellness, and performance. I've made a lot of mistakes. I will continue to make a lot of mistakes, but I want to share that wisdom with you guys.
11:15and I want to be able to do it
11:17Nick Bare:on a more personal and intimate level and experience. And I truly believe that this app will facilitate that vision, truthfully.
11:34So where is it based? How do you find it? How do you download it? I've already touched on this, but just to reinforce. You can go to nickbearfitness.app. You can go there today. You can sign up and you can go into the app and start exploring.
11:56Nick Bare:But on September 6th, that's when the new training experience is going to be released. As I mentioned, it's on a platform called Playbook. It's powered by Playbook. So if you go to the app store and you download the playbook app, P-L-A-Y-B-O-O-K, and then you can search for me as a trainer and creator within that app, search Nick Bear. You'll come across my profile and all my workouts and training programs, but it might be easiest just to follow the link on my website, nickbearfitness.com. This was the most frequently asked question. how much is it going to cost? It's not free. I'll be upfront about that.
12:47Nick Bare:It is$14.99 per month or$99 per year. It's obviously more cost effective to pay for the year subscription. That's$99. So$14.99 per month or$99 for the year and you get access to everything in the app. which I'll go into. Now, the biggest changes or one of the biggest differences to the new experience in the app is that I'm launching what's called G1M Daily. Now, right now, if you go into the app, there's all these different programs and training routines. And I'm going to keep some of them, but we're going to remove and eliminate some of the ones that aren't utilized as much. So I'll be going through, I'll be cleaning up and revamping a lot of my older programs.
13:50Nick Bare:So what's staying, the programs that are staying, Hybrid Athlete 1.0, Hybrid Athlete 2.0, Hybrid Athlete 3.0, High Rocks Prep, the Hybrid Cut, the Hybrid Build, and ranger school slash military prep. Those are the programs that are included. Now I went in and pulled some data today. This is a crazy stat. Hybrid athlete 1.0, this is the first training program I ever launched in this app in 2020. That training program has 3.1 million begins. That's crazy. 3.1 million begins and it's been completed 1 million times. That blows my mind. Hybrid Athlete 1.0 has been completed 1 million times. It has a rating of 4.9 out of 5, which I'm really proud of.
14:54Nick Bare:So those programs will continue to live in the app if you want to go and do those at any point. But what's new is I'm launching G1M Daily. So this will be new weekly workouts that are added to the app every single Sunday. So you can expect on Sunday, a new week of workouts will get uploaded in the app that you will have in preparation for that week you're about to go into. So every Sunday, a new set of workouts. Every week, I will upload a video into the community portion of the app, answering frequently asked questions. So there's a section within the app, a community section, where you can go engage with the other members of the app experience, and you can ask questions.
15:49So we'll go through every week,
15:51Nick Bare:we'll select the top frequently asked questions about nutrition, around mindset, around consistency, around diet, workouts, exercises, anything. And then every week, middle of the week, we will upload a video into the app answering your frequently asked questions. I will be dropping mindset and motivational tips and resources, audio files in the app on a consistent basis. and I'll be sharing recipes as well. So one of the things we do in our household as the Bear family is we love to cook and Steph and I both do a lot of cooking and we'll try different recipes that we come across on Instagram or that people share with us or we create on our own.
16:46Nick Bare:And we as a family sit down at the dinner table every night and we cook dinner together. We sit down, we say prayer. We enjoy a family dinner. It is chaos right now because we have a four-year-old and a two-year-old. Half the kid's food ends up on the floor. Half of it gets eaten by the dogs. I'll just be honest. But we still make the effort and we put a lot of time and energy into making a dinner for the family every night. And we love to cook and we like to eat really good food that is healthy, that nurses our body, that helps with performance and recovery, but it tastes really good. So when we come across a recipe and we make it and we love it, we will share this into the app with you guys.
17:35Nick Bare:Things that we're eating on a regular basis, the way that we approach grocery shopping and meal prepping, going out to dinner, what we order. We're dropping all of this in the community function of the app on a weekly basis. But what I'm most excited about, and I hope that you're most excited about, is my training that is releasing every Sunday into the app. Six new workouts every week, every Sunday that you guys get to follow along. So I'll give you an example of what a week might look like. This is the first week that I'm dropping on September 6th. So week one overview. you. Monday is an upper body strength workout.
18:24Nick Bare:This is a bench in row focus. Tuesday is an easy run. Wednesday is lower body strength in core focus. Thursday is a run or high rocks circuit. Friday is upper body strength. This is overhead press and pull-up focus. Saturday, long run, Sunday off. So it's going to be six workouts per week. Each workout takes about an hour to complete. So I'll go into a little bit more detail. Monday's workout, upper body strength, bench and row focus. You have dumbbell chest press, four sets, six to eight reps, 90 seconds of rest in between. Barbell rows, four sets, six to eight reps. Again, 90 seconds rest in between.
19:21Nick Bare:Weighted dips, three sets, six to eight reps. 90 seconds of rest in between. Seated cable rows, three sets, 10 to 12 reps. I'm not going to say the rest, but it's yes, 90 seconds the rest in between. Dumbbell lateral raises, three sets, 10 to 12 reps. Face pulls or rear adult flies, three sets, 10 to 12 reps. And there's an optional finisher, three sets of pushups, as many reps as possible. Tuesday, you get an easy run. This is 45 to 60 minutes at an easy and or aerobic pace. This is conversational pace. Wednesday, lower body strength and core focus. Got barbell squats, five by five, five sets, five reps.
20:12Nick Bare:We're going to increase the rest periods a little bit on these compound movements to two to three minutes of rest between sets. Then we're going to trap bar or conventional deadlifts, three sets of five reps, two to three minutes of rest in between sets. Well, I want you to do 80 % of what would be your five by five deadlift working load here. So it's not a max effort because barbell squats is a max effort or bigger effort. Then you're gonna move into walking barbell lunges, three sets of 20 reps. That's 10 reps per leg. Leg curls, four sets, eight to 10 reps. Bulgarian split squats, four sets, eight to 10 reps.
20:54Nick Bare:I love dumbbell Bulgarian split squats. I love and hate them. And then there's a core superset to finish, three sets. That superset is hanging leg raises, 15 reps, and cable crunches, 15 reps. For core, honestly, you don't need a ton in a week to stimulate the core, especially with the amount of compound movements and exercise I'm selecting for the weekly programming. Your core is going to get trained regardless. this. Thursday run or high rocks circuit. So if you run, it's 45 to 60 minutes at an easy or aerobic pace. But if you choose to do a high rocks focused circuit, it's a 50 minute AMRAP, as many rounds as possible.
21:39Nick Bare:Each round is an 800 meter run, 50 meter sled push. You have a 1K row slash 1K ski. So you rotate every other round, round one, 1K row, round two, 1K ski, round three, 1K row, so on and so forth. And then 20 burpees. Friday, upper body strength, overhead press and pull-up focus. So we got overhead barbell press, four sets, six to eight reps. Pull-ups, four sets, as many rounds or sorry, as many reps as possible. Incline dumbbell press, three sets, eight to 10 reps, lat pulldowns, three sets, eight to 10 reps, barbell bicep curl, four sets, eight to 10 reps, and skull crushers for triceps, three sets, eight to 10 reps.
22:30Nick Bare:Saturday is a long run, 60 to 90 minutes at an easy or aerobic pace. And then Sunday is your off day. So you had six workouts per week, one off day. And that's generally how G1M daily is going to be programmed and structured. So a frequently asked question was, if I don't join as soon as the first week is launched, where do I get started and begin? So if you don't sign up and get started for the launch September 6th, that's okay. You can sign up now. You can sign up a month from now. You can sign up a year from now. Every Sunday, new workouts get uploaded. And what you end up doing is you don't start back from square one from what is launched on September 6th.
23:27You just jump into the week that is relevant to what was just published. So like I said, every Sunday, new set of workouts.
23:39Nick Bare:If you sign up on Sunday number one or Sunday number 10, you'll get started with the workouts that everyone in the app is doing for that week. What I want is everyone that's in the app to be doing the workouts together so that the questions are based off of how and what we're training in real time. you have a community that you can ask questions and have support from, and you're doing the workouts that I'm programming doing in real time. So you'll just pick up in the most recent week that is launched based off when you sign up. Now, what do you do if you can't complete all the workouts for the week?
24:27That's okay. do what you can and pick up the following week. So say for example, you sign up September 6th and that week of workouts is dropped and something happens at work or within your family and you have to fight some fires and you don't have time to train six times that week. maybe you only get to one or two workouts. That's okay. Do what you can do and then pick up the following week when you're done fighting those fires or you have the available allocated time.
25:10Nick Bare:What I don't want people to try to do is stack workouts. I've seen people do this before. So what that means is say, for example, you miss Monday's workout, you miss Tuesday's run, You miss Wednesday's workout. What I've seen people try to do is on Thursday, stay in the gym for four hours and try to get caught up and knock out all of those workouts. Don't do that. Don't do that. When you come back into the gym on Thursday, pick up where the program is at, finish off the week strong, start the next week, but don't try to stack workouts. Now, if you can't complete all the workouts for the week, the question is, which ones should you prioritize?
26:02My recommendation is to prioritize the strength workouts
26:09Nick Bare:if you have accessibility to the equipment. But on the flip side, if you don't have accessibility to equipment, prioritize running. if it's a problem of not necessarily do you have the equipment or not, but you just can't get to all the workouts for that week for whatever reason, my recommendation is to prioritize the three strength workouts and try to fit in the running or cardiovascular conditioning if possible, but always prioritize the strength workouts. Now, here's a scenario that I often find myself in, which might be helpful for you guys. If I'm on a family vacation or traveling, this is the way that I approach my training.
Read the full transcript
27:06If I don't have access to equipment or a gym, I will prioritize running because I don't need much. I need my running shoes, shorts, my watch, which I don't even need, a hat, they're pretty basic stuff. Don't need any equipment.
27:28Nick Bare:I'm actually going to experience this next week. So next week, at the time of this recording, we are traveling to Michigan. That is where Steph's family lives and where she grew up and is from. and her parents have a cottage on a lake up north, northern Michigan, and we're going there for a few days and the kids are so excited. Charlie is so excited to spend a few days. Grandma pops his cottage on the lake in northern Michigan, but there's no gyms in that area. I mean, the closest gym might be like 30 minutes away and I'm not going to drive 30 minutes when the focus that weekend is time spent with family.
28:12So I'm just going to run every day when we're there. That's how I will approach family vacations,
28:21Nick Bare:sometimes traveling. If the gym equipment isn't easily accessible or it's an inconvenience to my family and what we're trying to get done that day and just the time, I will prioritize running. But if the equipment is accessible, I will prioritize strength. So to wrap all that up, which ones should you prioritize? My recommendation, prioritize the strength workouts at all costs. Now, the way the app is built and structured is that each day you have a workout, You have exercises. You have sets and recommended rep ranges. And each exercise that is shown has a video tutorial showing you how to do that exercise.
29:20I just got done re-recording all of my exercise videos. I've had many of them in the app for five to six years now, but I look a little different five to six years later. And when I first recorded those, I didn't have a full sleeve tattoo and now I do. So I wanted to rerecord all those exercise videos. So when you open up the
29:46Nick Bare:app, you see the training for the day, you'll see the exercise, you can click it, you can watch the demonstration that I've recorded on how to do that exercise. And it'll have the amount of sets and the amount of reps, recommended reps. Now, when I have sets on those exercises, those are working sets. So if I say three sets, six to eight reps, those are your working sets. you might have to do a warmup or maybe even two warmup sets prior to those working sets. You may or you may not have to, but I would recommend at least one warmup set before your working sets. For your working sets, if it says six to eight reps, you're pushing hard six to eight reps.
30:41We want to grow muscle. We want to get stronger. We want to facilitate an adaptation,
30:49Nick Bare:muscle growth. We want to get fit. And you're not going to get extra fit and stronger or bigger by just going through the motions. So we're pushing a lot of these sets close to or to failure, especially on the heavy compound movements like your deadlifts, your squats your rows your chest press or marbell bench press and I will be adding resources into the app teaching you and showing you how to select an appropriate amount of weight per exercise based off of the sets and reps that are recommended I think it's really hard to take people's one rep max from say a bench press, a barbell squat, or a deadlift.
31:55And then based off those one rep maxes, try to estimate a percentage of that load for other exercises.
32:06Nick Bare:It's an approach. You can get close, but I don't think it's extremely practical. So I want to provide you as much information and guidance as possible within this app, but I also want to teach you how to use your own knowledge and intuition and experience and effort to select the appropriate weights for what is recommended for that exercise. So I'll be adding resources within the app to teach you, to educate you on how to find, how to identify what weight to use for each exercise. What equipment do you need for most of these programs? It is helpful to have access to a full gym. It is. But at the minimum, a squat rack, barbell, some free weights, and dumbbells is necessary.
33:15Nick Bare:You're not going to be able to do this training program or my workouts with just body weight movements and bands or one set of dumbbells. It's just, you just won't be able to. You got to at least have a squat rack, barbell, some free weights, plates, and some dumbbells to really get the most out of these training programs. If you have full access to a gym, that is the best. There are machines recommended. There's cables recommended. There's certain machines that are recommended in these programs within G1M daily, but they can be substituted with free weight movements, but it's going to be really hard to complete these programs and G1M daily if you don't have any weights.
34:07Nick Bare:The running you can obviously do, you don't have to do the high rocks circuits if you don't have access to sleds and certain ergs like the ski erg or the rower or concept to bike and wall balls. If you don't have access to that equipment, it's okay. You can substitute that for additional running, but it helps to have access to a full gym or at least the necessary equipment. Like I said, that being a squat rack, barbell, free weights, dumbbells. How will the app evolve and be added to over time? See, that question gets me excited. I want to over deliver with this app experience I mean truly I want to help you guys reach your goals and I want you to dive into this app and all the resources I'm going to be adding to over time and I want you to be like man I get so much out of this This is more than just workouts.
35:17Nick Bare:This is more than just training. This is a place, this is a community. These are resources that at my lowest of lows I can go to and pull from, that I'm learning from on a weekly basis. Everything that's in my mind, I want to transcribe through text or video or audio and just continue adding to this app. So it will be added to on a regular basis over time. It will evolve over time. It's gonna get better and better and better over time. But it's not something I just wanna build, set it and forget it. I'm gonna keep investing into and answer the questions that you guys have. And the last question is, can I add more cardio, running, and endurance work on top of the workouts that are already programmed?
36:22Nick Bare:Yes, you can. For example, Monday is a strength workout. If you want to add an additional run in there, you can. Like for me, Mondays, I wake up at 5 a.m. I go for six mile run. And then Monday afternoon, I hit the strength workout. And then same goes for Wednesday. Wednesday, I'm waking up at 5 a.m. I'm running my six mile run. In the afternoon, I'm hitting lower body strength. If you want to add additional running and cardio into G1MDLA on top of what is already in there, you can, but just be careful. Be careful not to do too much too fast. The way I'm structuring these programs, these six workouts per week, it's to balance out strength and endurance, to mitigate risk of injury, to facilitate an adaptation and growth and help you get stronger, faster, build endurance, get fitter.
37:35more isn't always better.
37:40Nick Bare:So just be careful and know your experience, your running background, track your mileage to make sure you're not increasing mileage too much too fast. You don't want to get injured. You don't want to add on too much volume and intensity so that you're not recovering and improving in your sessions. but based off of your self-awareness, knowing your body, knowing what you can do if you want to add on additional runs or cardio training sessions, by all means, do so. I am myself. I run every single morning. So if you want to do that, I encourage it, but it's not necessary or required. There's six workouts per week, one a day, about an hour each day.
38:34Nick Bare:That is plenty to facilitate the goals that we're trying to accomplish of building muscle, getting stronger, building endurance. You're going to experience better performance gains, body recomposition, improved physique, especially along with the nutrition and diet advice and recipes that we share within the app. I want this to be a holistic approach to health and fitness. It is the go one more method to build a stronger body, stronger mind, stronger and healthier relationships with food to be more consistent. I'm pumped. so September 6th is the launch nickbearfitness.app guys I appreciate the love and the support means a whole lot to me so thank you we'll see you when we launch September 6th with G1M Daily see you guys later

From the publisher
On September 6, I’m relaunching the same app with a new experience built around G1M Daily: six weekly hybrid workouts, community Q&As, mindset resources, and nutrition guidance designed to help you stay consistent.
In this episode, I explain why I’m returning to the app, break down the first week of training, and answer the most common questions about cost, equipment, where to begin, missed workouts, working sets, and adding more cardio.
This is more than a library of workouts. It’s a system built to help you keep showing up, train with purpose, and build a stronger body and mind.
