In short

“Overreaction Monday” NFL and college football recap/preview, centered on the idea that fans overlabel teams as “ass” and ignore that any given Sunday can flip outcomes. The hosts also hype College GameDay in Pittsburgh and discuss several marquee NFL Week 10 games.

Guests (backgrounds)

  1. Darius J. Butler: 9-year NFL veteran cornerback known for football analysis and “terrible food takes” humor on the show.
  2. AJ Hawk: Former NFL linebacker (Green Bay Packers) and college football analyst; joins for NFL/college discussion.
  3. Adam Schefter: Mentioned as a guest/figure in the episode title (sports insider; not detailed in the transcript).
  4. Kirk Herbstreit: Mentioned as a guest/figure in the episode title (ESPN/college football analyst; not detailed in the transcript).

(Transcript also includes recurring host banter with “Tony,” “Ty,” and others, but only Butler/Hawk have clear guest roles in the text.)

Key claims

  • Teams aren’t “ass all the time”; pro athletes can win even against “better” reputations (example: Dolphins beating Bills; Saints beating Panthers).
  • Miami’s win suggests the Dolphins can dominate all three phases even after roster changes.
  • Detroit Lions are a legitimate NFC contender; their offense/defense look elite even with coordinator/role adjustments.
  • The Ravens are real AFC North contenders despite early-season sportsbook expectations.
  • Rams and Seahawks are separating as NFC threats; Steelers are worth watching after a big win.

Notable examples

  • Dolphins vs Bills: Miami wins big at home; A-Chain 174 rushing yards; defense forces fumbles/interception and gets sacks; first Dolphins win vs Bills since 2022.
  • Saints vs Panthers: Tyler Shuck (rookie QB) wins; Saints rookie QB first win since 1981; Chris Olave has a big game.
  • Lions vs Commanders: Detroit “pounded” Washington; Jared Goff 300+ yards, multiple TDs; Jameer Gibbs big; no turnovers highlighted.
  • Rams vs (mentioned as) NFC West: Puka Nakua highlighted; Devontae Adams red-zone/goal-line dominance; Stafford 4 TDs, 0 INTs in a streak.
  • Seahawks vs (mentioned as) AFC: Seahawks defense creates turnovers; two fumble returns by DeMarcus Lawrence.
  • Ravens/Steelers: Ravens surge after early struggles; Steelers force 6 turnovers vs Colts.

0:00Pat McAfee:Hello beautiful people and welcome to our humble abode, the Thunderdome. On this magical overreaction Monday, November 10th, 2025, this program begins right now. Football! He is awesome and we had a great weekend of ball and we can't wait to dive into all of it. Now, first things first, we'd like to say happy birthday to the Marine Corps. Turns 250 years old today. older than the United States of America. Yeah. Started as a militia in a bar. Now it's a group of badass dogs who obviously say, yeah, I'll go. First, the fight is their mantra. Oorah, kill, slay. Happy birthday to them. And also, a big announcement, tomorrow we will be live from Paris Island, which is the Marines boot camp for the eastern half of the United States of America down in South Carolina for Veterans Day.

0:52Pat McAfee:We'll be down there. And we're going to be the, I think the only show that will be live from a military base tomorrow. And I think we're potentially the only show that's ever been live from Paris Island, obviously the home of the Marines. And everything that we'll be kind of showcasing and chit-chatting about tomorrow will hopefully be one big thank you to all the folks that signed a line saying they were willing to go to war for this particular country that I'm lucky to call home. And I can't thank you all enough for allowing us to do this. And tomorrow should be pretty epic. There's going to be a lot of pop-ins and a lot of features from a lot of different people.

1:25Pat McAfee:and it should be exciting. So happy birthday to the Marines. And tomorrow we will certainly be honoring our vets in a big way from Parris Island as we get a chance to chit-chat about the greatest thing on earth, which is sports. Sports unify the world. It is what makes everything special. And this past weekend we had a good one. The toxic table's here at Boston Corner and at Ty Schmidt. One half of the hammer died. Cowboys AP. Tony, see the beard's coming back, pal. It is coming back. It's good to see. Like the mirror you're saying? Yeah. That's a good length right there. Because, you know, found out, didn't have a chin.

1:57Forgot.

1:57Pat McAfee:You found that out? Yeah, okay. I didn't know. One day, I used to. You think? Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. 18-year-old Tony. Oh, young Bill Carr in the making out there. I don't know what happened. Got soft, but here we are. No, I think it's because you have such a good beard. Your chin said, I'm never coming back. Look how good this beard is. Let me go ahead and take some time off. Good call. On that note, big things happening back in Pittsburgh this weekend. And College Game Day will be going to the University of Pittsburgh in the city of Pittsburgh on a Saturday for a full College Game Day for the first time in 20 years as Notre Dame is still number five ranked team in the country.

2:36Pat McAfee:Still very much in college football playoff conversation, national championship hunt. They're becoming the team that they hoped that they would be early in the season. A couple tough teams they played. You know, losing to Texas A &M at home. Texas A &M, the only undefeated team in the SEC still. They lose to Miami. At the time, Miami was a wagon. Now, some things have happened in Miami throughout the season. But at the time, those losses I thought were devastating. Then you watch those two teams play. It's like, maybe not that bad a loss is early. And also, we would like more teams to play good teams, especially early in the season.

3:04Pat McAfee:So maybe we don't punish Notre Dame for the first two weeks of the season. Maybe we kind of let it all play out. They've been kicking everybody's ass. And now they got Pitt. Pitt's still very much in it for the ACC title. Pitt can make the college football playoff. Nobody talks about Pitt. Pitt still has a road to the college football playoff and the ACC championship. And Narduzzi and the boys are the same Pitt team that you know. They're a tough bunch. And their fans, I think, are excited for Saturday College Game Day coming outside of Appleshire Stadium down there on the North Shore, just a few yards from Rivers Casino.

3:37Pat McAfee:That's why I had to mention it. Because whenever I saw the location, I was like, well, you can certainly get to Rivers Casino there quickly. Because Rivers Casino is a place downtown on the North Shore right next to all the stadiums, basically. Whenever you come in a tiny go there, and you just kind of tip Pittsburgh. You say, hey, you know what, thanks for having me this weekend. Please look over me and bless me. And you lose. I don't think I've ever walked out of Rivers Casino as a winner, but it feels like a ritual just go in there and say, thank you, Pittsburgh. Okay, walk around, say hello to some people, lose some money, win some, give it right back somewhere else, and then go have a time in Pittsburgh.

4:07Pat McAfee:That's right around the corner. This is going to be pretty epic, I do believe. A lot of Irish people in Pittsburgh as well. So who knows how many Notre Dame fans will be there. But I know the University of Pittsburgh students are certainly jacked up and I'm excited to get back over there. And I think there'll be a lot of good beards. If not good beards, there'll be good jawlines, you know, as you kind of came and going. Yeah, it's a good beard city. Yes, there are a lot of Notre Dame fans that live in Pittsburgh. The guy on the right in that graphic, Mason Heinzel, the quarterback for Pitt, true freshman.

4:33They are undefeated since he has taken over the starting job this year. He's a bit of a phenom. So, yeah, it'll be a good game. And Pitt only one loss in the ACC with a lot of ACC teams that have one loss in there going for the playoffs.

4:44Pat McAfee:And this does not count as an ACC game for them. But obviously, if they were to lose any others, they have no bid to get in there. So them beating Notre Dame, massive for the University of Pittsburgh, especially a freshman quarterback there. And then Notre Dame has to win to make it. So huge stakes. Other big games around the country, you know, Texas, Georgia, I believe is happening down there in Athens. That's going to be gigantic. I think Ole Miss is hosting Florida. I think that's going to be a big game. I think the ticket price is going insane for down there in Ole Miss. So college football should deliver.

5:11Pat McAfee:But it would be nice to be in a town that, you know, hasn't had it in like 20 years, a football town. Yeah. And a lot of people watch some Pitt games and maybe see yellow seats. You know, maybe it's not filled up down there at extra. Yeah. Pittsburgh's a football city. Notre Dame's coming to town. It'll be filled. I think it's going to be. Are you worried? Me. Yeah, about the WVU Pitt's time. Yeah, the way it was worded there by the social media post. Pat's coming home. It's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Pittsburgh is home. Pitt, definitely not. No. Not at all. Complete opposite.

5:45You've had good times in Oakland? Yeah, certainly.

5:47Pat McAfee:We all have. I mean, I think I've probably had more good times in Oakland than most of the people in school probably right now at the University of Pittsburgh. Obviously, I have a lot of friends that went to Pitt being from Pittsburgh. But, yeah, in the whole sports thing. Who won the backyard ball this year? Okay, so I'm going in there in a good spot. But they certainly have some things that they can certainly say to me as well. Yeah, I'm excited for it. I'm excited for the job. I'm just pumped, just like with Texas Tech at Lubbock. I'm excited to go to a place that hasn't had it in a long time.

6:15Pat McAfee:You know, like learning about new places, new traditions. Like Lubbock was insane, dude. They were so nice to us. Like they were very, very thankful we were there. Very appreciative. Everybody. I mean, John McGuire comes. They bring a damn horse inside. Centennial champion. That's just right on the show.

6:30Adam Schefter:Oh, sick.

6:30Pat McAfee:Let alone like everything else that was going there. It was like they were so thankful and hospitable. And they wanted to showcase the world. Like, yeah, we love ball here. Like that's basically what they wanted to do. And it was an honor to be down there. And it lived up to the Texas Tech fans. There were signs that were saying, like, Mormons versus alcoholics. Like, they were, like, proud. Like, hey, we can hammer some drinks around here. And they certainly did. It was great to catch up with Danny Amendola. He was around there. Got a chance to meet all the people that have kind of pieced this entire thing together.

6:57Pat McAfee:And they were all incredibly kind. They love Bo down there. And they got the team and the money behind them and the community, I think, to be special for a long, long time. They get a huge win over BYU in the Big 12 race. And Texas Tech is for real. But it was nice to kind of experience new college football stuff for me. Just selfishly sitting on the stage there, new to the entire world, it was cool to experience that and what they're about. And obviously I know Pittsburgh very well, the city. I don't know a lot of pitch traditions and football stuff well at all. I know if Terrell Rivas catches a punt from me, he makes everybody miss, scores a touchdown.

7:36Pat McAfee:I know that's a tradition. It seems like I think he's potentially going to be in the building this weekend. Aaron Donald, I think, is going to be over there. He's getting his number retired. Yeah, I think Tony Dorsett is going to be there. Okay. Bringing out the big guys. Yeah, I think it's going to be a – This is not for game. Larry? This is for the game. I don't know what's going on with game day yet. But, like, yeah, there's a lot. And then let alone, I think, Shady potentially. I think it was on an email where I saw the name. It's like, I think Tyler Palco is going to be there. Oh, come on.

8:01Pat McAfee:Hold the phone.

8:02Adam Schefter:You know?

8:02Pat McAfee:Yeah, I saw an email. I saw his name. Also got a message, I think, from Palco family. He said, hey, listen, as you know. He loves his team. Tyler Palko loves University of Pittsburgh. And just over 20 years ago, you know, Tyler Palko threw for six touchdowns against Notre Dame. Oh, yeah. Tyler Palko with his sweet hair and incredible looks. And then? What's that? What do you do after that? What do you say on national TV? Drop the F-bomb on live TV. It was awesome. I still remember it like it was yesterday. Tyler Palko. So I think there's going to be, you know, it should be an amazing weekend downtown, North Shore there.

8:37Pat McAfee:And I don't know if it's just going to be pit people there. I assume the city's going to show up, but I think it's potentially a lot of Notre Dame people that are going to come through as well. So it should be a pretty electrifying environment. Notre Dame's always been good at College Game Day since I've been on it. Every time we go up to Notre Dame, it's like the biggest crowd of all time, and their fans are literally everywhere. So I think Pittsburgh has a chance to be epic this weekend, and we're going to be showcasing local food as well. Only the best. That's what happened to your chin. That's what happened to your jaw.

9:04Pat McAfee:When you started slandering good things from the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania? I've never done that. You did. That's when your jaw said, I'm not going to be a part of this and quit. That's when your jaw quit on you. You need to know that. Things were a little too good around here. I had to stir it up a bit. Rudy Subs will be, obviously, hot next weekend. Cannot wait for that. And maybe a couple other Paisanos foods make some appearances in there. It should be a great weekend. Pizzoles? Stop. Anything but rules. That's a good question. OG, perhaps? Neither of those places exist. Hold on. Please.

9:35Wait, wait. I'm not saying that. I'm not saying that. Nine-year NFL vet, a man who has a good football brain, but clearly.

9:42Adam Schefter:Those things. Maybe it was the fact that he came out of Caboli's cargo shorts, but.

9:47Pat McAfee:Yeah. Eating out of Caboli's nature's microwave, he called his cargo shorts, his pocket that was sitting there for four hours, is when it's a bad sin. You need to change your tune right now when you're talking about Rudy's because this no-jaw-having guy started saying it the other day. The city of Pittsburgh started reacting.

10:03Adam Schefter:Now you're starting to throw it in there. What did the city say? Why? Did they agree or disagree?

10:07Pat McAfee:Well, there was a couple notable moths over there in Pittsburgh that said, excuse me, maybe Tone's on to something. I was like, no, he is not. I don't know. I don't like this. This is what's wrong with modern society, okay? Everybody wants to be a part of something, even if they don't believe it. They just want, you know, I do want to be a part of something. I'm going to lie completely. Tone started this thing. Foxy spotlighted it, amplified it, okay? And then you've got people saying, you know what? Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing. Jumping on board. I'm like, no, you haven't. You haven't.

10:34Pat McAfee:Rudy's sub is the best subs in Pittsburgh, and we will certainly all be enjoying them this weekend. I just want to say something real quick because Connor said it. I looked it up. There's not one Fazolis in all of Pennsylvania. Okay, well, then. We knew that. Nor should there be. Okay, let's move along. At least Booga the Bat Bowl. Let's move along. Okay, Pittsburgh, the only thing we need to be talking about is the Steelers, am I right? What a snooze fest. They can't hurt us anymore. A nine-year NFL vet, Darius J. Butler, is here with terrible food takes and incredible football takes, and that's what he's here for.

11:04Pat McAfee:You look very cool with a hat. I don't know what's going on. What's wrong?

11:08Adam Schefter:Lost and found? It's always race season. What the hell is that? What is that, Fox? Hey, we're coming to the end of a great season, boys. We're right in the middle of it, actually. We've got eight more weeks. No, no. The F1 season, the pinnacle. Obviously, football is the real pinnacle. This is the pinnacle of motorsport.

11:23Pat McAfee:Yeah, they're doing it right now?

11:24Adam Schefter:Oh, they are doing it. When? When? When? They just did it in Brazil. Yes, now.

11:29Pat McAfee:Oh, I don't have YouTube TV. I guess I can't say it. You've got to get F1 TV. All right, let's move along.

11:33Adam Schefter:What's that? F1 TV.

11:35Pat McAfee:Oh, they're trying to gouge their fans? Okay. I don't like that. I don't like that at all. Okay, let's move along to a sport. Congrats to G1. Having a great season. Absolutely. Lando took the leap. Nobody saw it. Nope, elite. Who won? Lando Norris.

11:47Adam Schefter:Again? Oh, Lando, this guy cheats every time. Unbelievable race, though. Also, do not pass on congratulations. Who, Lando did on? No, me to F1.

11:55Pat McAfee:Okay, you're saying everybody else saying congratulations or claps. You say not I. No, not I. Yeah, it is football season. And on that note, you know, in most football situations, there's a first 15. It is a scripted first 15 plays that offensive coordinators have to kind of see how the defense will react to their different formations and styles. It's very important to an entire game. So whenever you see a team go on the field and go three and out, that really just kicks them right in the balls because the rest of the game was going to be dependent upon how those first 15 plays were going. Those first 15 plays, well thought out.

12:26Pat McAfee:Well thought out. A lot of conversation. A lot of decisions are made. And for us, we want to have the same thing because this is a ball show. Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for our Overreaction Monday. First 15! Now, this is driven by Ram, and if you hit the gas pedal of a Ram truck, the only thing you're going to hear is Ram. And the only thing you're going to feel like is King, because Ram trucks have the power you need and the luxury you deserve. Ram trucks. Okay, now let's get to our first 15. Now, put the clock up, please. What we're going to do differently, see? See? Yes. Oh, okay. Yes.

13:00Second half of the job. Okay. Yeah, yeah, you see we're getting better. We need some time of possession here.

13:04Pat McAfee:Yeah, first half of the season here. We're kind of bad. We're still in it. You know, we're still playing meaningful football games in November. We're not sellers at the trade deadline by any means. But we certainly weren't just dominating, you know, because we kept saying first 15, it's not about the time, it's about the plays. But then we put a 15-minute clock up there and everybody's like, hey, it's 42 minutes, so what's the clock for? And we said, you know what, you're right. Instead of counting down, we need to give no barriers to ourselves. Yeah. We need to explore everything in this first 15.

13:31Pat McAfee:Why would we be setting up a three and out? Why would we be setting up a slowdown of any good conversation, a stoppage of any play that we need? So we're starting at zero. We're counting up. Let's see how long today goes. Let's get this thing started with the top five headlines coming out of the NFL slate. Number five, not all ass teams are ass all the time. Now, what are you saying by that? Well, what I'm saying is some of these teams, we've all just deemed ass. We say, oh, that squad there, ass. That team right there, not worth a damn. That team can't beat any team, let alone an NFL team or a good NFL team.

14:06Pat McAfee:And what we need to remember, D. Butch, and I think this does get forgotten about whenever it comes to maybe the larger scale of football fans and NFL fans, these are all professional athletes who are paid to try to play football good and to strategize against other teams, just like the good squads. so whenever we were two and 14 whenever we lost or two and yeah two and 14 whenever we got andrew luck there was like nine games there were one score games that if the ball just so happened to and then pop up into some guy that played one nfl game in his life it was this particular game and he just goes in the end zone we win that game so it's like i think people just start to decide if a team is good and can win or if a team is bad and can't win any game and then you kind of just toss away any of the wins that happened throughout the season with the bad teams and then if they end up beating a team oh my god full panic it happened down there in miami with the buffalo beals now josh allen has struggled in miami in the past we all do recall a couple bad games for josh down in miami that would continue and his miami dolphins team we all call ass this team's ass instead they still got water and allegedly there were some teams including the buffalo bills that were looking for Waddle.

15:16Pat McAfee:Even a first rounder in 2027 was offered up from a couple teams for Waddle because of how incredible he is at football. But we all think he's really good. He needs to get the hell out of there because they're a bad team. And here they are on a Sunday and they're beating the Buffalo Bills. And not just beating them, pounding them. All three phases. There was a moment in the fourth quarter. It was 16-0 in the fourth quarter. There was a moment there where Josh Allen scores a touchdown. It's like, hold the phone. Wait a minute. has Josh Allen finally got over his Miami flu? Is Josh Allen potentially about to turn this entire thing around?

15:49Pat McAfee:Are the Buffalo Bills about to do to the Miami Dolphins what we all expect to do, just steal their joy and their hope in the fourth quarter? And the Miami Dolphins answered, D-Butt. I mean, it was an ass-kicking. Even when the Bills started, the Dolphins would answer. Everybody says they're ass.

16:03Adam Schefter:Maybe they're not ass all the time, D-Butt. And you mentioned it, and they hear it. They hear it every day about how ass they are. Not only the players, but the coaches. Who's getting fired next? Who's getting traded? Obviously, the trade deadline is over now. But the way these boys showed up, starting with HN, absolute game breaker, ran through them. And this is the only place that the Dolphins beat the Bills. You mentioned that earlier as well. And this was kind of an ugly weather game. It didn't show through on the camera much, but this was kind of some rain on and off, some sloppy. I love this.

16:32Adam Schefter:I know a lot of people have a lot of thoughts about this or they're acting like they won the Super Bowl. But, hey, winning is an amazing feeling. You mentioned every week in the NFL is talented coaches, is talented players. You know, we got so many breakdances and shit in the middle of the locker room. And my initial reaction was like, oh, this is too much. This is this. But then I'm like, okay, I'm an old guy. I haven't been in the locker room. You're coaching 20 - to 30-year-olds, and you're excited about the win, and you want to be excited about the win. So I love this, what I saw not only on the field from the Dolphins, but off the field because Mike McDowell, he's been getting on the shins all year long.

17:05Adam Schefter:So for him to have his boys come out there and compete against a team that everybody picked. I'm sure a bunch of survivor picks. Oh, yeah. Lost a bunch of parlays. It was straight-up wins. So, unbelievable outing by the Dolphins at home. Very impressed with this outing.

17:19Pat McAfee:This was Miami's first win versus the Bills since 2022. A-chan went off, 174. Six receptions for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Dolphins' defense forced two fumbles, one interception, and ended up with three sacks. That's a hell of a day after trading away Jalen Phillips and also sending away all your best talent. And Hembo sent over a stat about this Bills rush defense. Week one, Derrick Henry won for 169. Bajon won for 170. And then A-Chain goes for 174. If you want to win, hey, if you want to win in the playoffs, they're going to have to figure that out. They are going to have to figure that out.

17:50Pat McAfee:Now, obviously, these types of games are certainly possible for teams, and no fans want them to see them. But only one team in the history of the NFL has gone undefeated. It's the 1972 Dolphins. Every once in a while, professional athletes are going to show up and put it together. And when that happens, they can beat anybody. That is kind of what the NFL has kind of been built upon. Parody, parody, parody any given Sunday. On yesterday, on yesterday's particular Sunday, good for you, one half of the hammer. Down, Cowboys bubble Gumpy. Gumpy, how's it feel to be of a victory Monday here with the boys?

18:23Pat McAfee:Are you riding into laundry rack? Yeah, this is what the Dolphins look like after Chris Greer's gone. That team still believes in Mike McDaniel. You saw it in that video. Anthony Weaver called the best game he's had all year. Minka had a stop on that two-point conversion, just stuffed the guy at the line. Best the defense has looked all year. Jake Bailey dropped one at the one. All three phases, just unbelievable from the Finns. So a GM and a president has hated this bad in a building? Oh, my God. Thank God he's gone. That's what it's like down there. It feels like there was a new energy. And McDaniel, I mean, the way he's feeling, the way they're responding to him, it feels like there's like a, hey, we're behind you type vibe.

19:00Pat McAfee:Good for the Dolphins. Now, this could all change. Yeah, true. This could all just be, you know, take it in, boys. It's a good week. Take it in, boys. But this is the NFL. We'll see. This is literally the NFL in a nutshell. And also, down in Miami later in the year. We got snow on the ground out here. Going down into Miami, the humidity, that also plays effect. And also, there is a Miami flu. We've all been down there. There's a lot of distractions. That's why we think it's going to be hard for the Dolphins to win. Other teams have also struggled down there as well. I mean, like Mika Fitzpatrick bringing it.

19:27I don't know if that was his first game as a Miami Dolphin, but I know he's been out for a little bit, him being back. And then, I mean, Ty dropped a bar about Jalen Phillips being out of the building. Like, you would assume, you know, trading your best player, Jalen Phillips, on defense at least, there might be a little bit of a, you know, fall off. But, like, not at all. If anything, though, you know, you just said it. That was the best their defenses looked.

19:47Pat McAfee:Yeah, congrats to the Dolphins. Get a big win. And to the Bills, okay, these types of losses open your eyes to what's possible. In the bigger games down the road, they're going to have to get that fixed. And then you go to the NFC South. Who's ass down there? Saints. Well, who's not asked this year, maybe? Panthers. Good football team. Winner record. Saints, Tyler Shuck, 75-year-old rookie out of Louisville. Dog. Absolute beast. He had no turnovers or something like that. I forget, he had a bunch of rookie records for how he performed. Kelly Moe might have a guy. And when they drafted him, I think it was like third round or something like that.

20:24Pat McAfee:Whenever they drafted him, they forgot. They acted like this was a starter. And everybody was like, well, if this is your starter, why wouldn't you draft him earlier? It was like, well, we knew what his value was. We knew how people viewed him. They liked him very, very early. He gets a win over the Carolina Panthers. And a team that's 1-8 somehow beats a team that's 5-4. And 1-8 team we all said was ass and were dead. They get a huge win over the, you know, kind of new favorites around town. You know, we're not doing the pumps anymore. Nope. We're not doing any pumps anymore. Hey. Hey, all right.

20:53Pat McAfee:We're out of here. Got a message from Keegan. You know, Canales is talk of the town. Enrico Dowdle might be the best player in football. All of a sudden, Carolina is up and to the right in a huge way. And the New Orleans Saints, just like their location on the map, nobody was talking about them way down or down. Nobody. Hey, who are the ass teams? Well, the Jets and the Saints. They're real bad. They're the ones that we're talking about, like, with a college football team. Now, I don't think any of this year's college football teams, well, maybe this Ohio State team. Honestly, we have no idea.

21:22Pat McAfee:I mean, there's a chance they're the greatest of all time. If they go through a college football playoff, the same exact way that they've been going through this season. There's a chance. And there is a chance. People are going to do that. Ohio State could be NFL team.

21:34Adam Schefter:No chance.

21:34Pat McAfee:Never could, by the way. That is not how it works. That is why people kind of get confused about how good NFL talent is. But the Saints would have been the team that was in that conversation whenever people started doing that later, if the Ohio State kind of runs it. Them getting a big win is indicative of like, hey, when they show up, any team can be great.

21:51Adam Schefter:Once again, another coach having his boys ready to go. Tyler Shuck, he was past the job. He earned the job, won the job over. I guess Spencer probably played himself out of it, but he showed up. Chris Olave, another guy who was loud on the trading block, he showed up and had a big game as well. And both of those games, the Dolphins-Bills and then the Saints-Panthers, divisional games. So you know this. Whenever records, you got to throw those out the window when you're playing a team and a coach that's very familiar with those opponents. Eight minutes in, still on the first one.

22:18Pat McAfee:Maybe we should have had the clock count and dime instead of up. Tyler Shuck is the first Saints rookie quarterback to win a game since Dave Wilson in 1981. He was good. Zach Wilson's poppy. Yeah. Pop is poppy. Oh, okay. Yeah, I think he was potentially fodder's fodder type thing. Arch had a tough time there with the Aints for a while. They did. They weren't the best football team. Arch the dog, though. Oh, yeah. Everybody knows Arch was a dog. And, yeah, the Aints had some times. And then, obviously, Drew Brees, Sean Payton come in. They beat a team in the Super Bowl with a kick onside kick, started second half, and we're losing at that time.

22:55There was a 22-year-old kid that was on the other team that thought he was getting a Super Bowl and didn't even know how to do his own job and didn't really have to contribute much, but got an A on the paper like he was Tyrese Halliburton at the Olympics. Instead, yeah, onside kick, pick six. Way never going back. Hard times, brother. But good for the Saints. Yeah. Little baby with a headset on. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I walk into a locker room contributing nothing no ability to save game either at any time doing that entire thing kind of a spectator if you will but would have got a ring walk in there devastated boy can't imagine the most positive people I've ever seen in my life ruined in that locker room and I didn't fully understand what was happening

23:45Adam Schefter:we'll be back next year We weren't. You were after that? No, we were almost completely defeated. Then all my friends were cut. GM was fired. And we had Andrew Luck as a quarterback. And what did we do? We started fighting back. Made the playoffs. Oh, yeah. Made the NFC Championship. Oh, my God. Then we did. Then what happened? Then we did. What happened? Then I retired. NFC title again? How was it? We got cheated. Yeah, the ball is still an investigation. Why Andrew retired? This is the ball. is Patriots. This is the ball as Patriots are using. That's what Bill Nye science guy told me. That's what Bill Nye science guy told me.

24:23But nonetheless, really hard to make the Super Bowl.

24:25Pat McAfee:Saints win Super Bowl. Finally. Hey, here it is. Here it is. Here it is. And then, kind of all goes to hell. This year's supposed to be hell. Absolutely. But not all ass teams are ass all the time. Exactly. That's number five. Ten minutes. It's got number four headline coming out of the weekend. NFC favorites fornicate. Four o 'clock slate. Yeah, we all saw it. Let's go to our nation's capital. Detroit Lions pounded Washington. Pound. I mean, just pounded the Washington Commanders. At one point during this game in the third quarter, the president of the United States was in the booth, and the Washington Commanders scored, and his first reaction was, that's good for ratings, right?

25:03Pat McAfee:That's good. This is actually kind of a game now as opposed to what it was. The Detroit Lions with Dan Campbell calling plays were exactly what the Detroit Lions last year with Ben Johnson were calling plays. He had glasses on. I guess it wasn't easy to tell from watching the game that he was certainly calling plays while he was actually talking, and Jared Goff was nodding his head like this, and then Jolly Moe up in the booth wasn't saying really anything. But I guess we didn't know for sure if he was calling plays. Turns out he was, and their entire offense is good, and their defense, incredible.

25:36Pat McAfee:Calvin Shepard, defense coordinator, first year, former teammate of ours, obviously now running the show for Detroit on defensive side. Might be in a run for that LSU job. I don't know if he wants it. Obviously, he just got a defense coordinator job in the NFL. That is a huge deal. One step away from an NFL head coaching job. I don't know if he, I've not directly asked him, but LSU, Kelvin Shepard could be possible. So the Lions could be dealing with another turnover of a coordinator, which was the entire question going in. New offense coordinator, he's Don. Dane Campbell's now calling plays. So basically three offense coordinators in about two years.

26:09Pat McAfee:Ben Johnson, new Johnny Moe, and Dane Campbell. Defense coordinator, obviously, two in two years. And they're still dominating. And they're still at the top of the NFC. And they're still ruining a 4 o 'clock slate. What did you learn yesterday from the Detroit Lions?

26:22Adam Schefter:Oh, you know what? I'm going to be honest with you. I didn't learn much. I knew they were a dominant team. I felt like the Detroit Lions are a legit contender to win it all this year. Jared Goff just kind of ho-hummed. Another great game by him over 300 yards. You got Jameer Gibbs going. He had a big day after having a bad outing last week against the Vikings. And then J-Mo. J-Mo made some noise a couple weeks ago. It was some noise around him, should I say, about him not getting the ball, not being used in the offense. And Dan Campbell made it a point to get the ball, probably in his first 15, to get the ball to number one.

26:53Adam Schefter:And he made good with it. So he got targets. He made his big plays. But, yeah, we know what they are offensively and defensively. The Commanders is just so, so bad. So, honestly, I didn't know much. There's a team that's ass. This was the outcome that was supposed to happen, in my opinion.

27:10Pat McAfee:But not as all the time, which is why Marcus Mariota would do his thing.

27:13Adam Schefter:If they put it together, good team.

27:16Pat McAfee:But if not, they look like they look, and especially against the Detroit Lions, you're ready. Foxy, there's some hembo stats here about the Lions offense through nine games, and they make a change at the offense coordinator position. In 2024, Ben Johnson obviously ends up getting hired as a head coach as the barrel of the ball because he's an offensive genius. 2.7 points per drive, 46 % scoring drive, 33 touchdowns, 10 turnovers. 2025, 2.8 points per drive, which is absurd, by the way. a field goal every time they get the ball, at least, basically. 47 % drive score and 34 touchdowns, six turnovers.

27:44Pat McAfee:You guys are better than ever, and Dane Campbell's put himself in a driver's seat? What the hell's going on, Doxon? I will tell you what, everyone is fired up about this. They love that MCDC's call and plays. Jared Goff, over 300 yards, three touchdowns. Jameer Gibbs, 173 total yards, three touchdowns. Jameau, over 100 yards, a touchdown. LaPorta had five catches. St. Brown had five catches. Everyone was getting the rock. Everyone was loving what this offense was doing. And we're rolling now, and we're not looking back anymore. Love you, Johnny Moe. He had a lot to do with this play calling. But this is MCDC's offense now.

28:19Okay, yeah, MCDC says, we got a lot of guys, man. We got a lot of guys. A lot of miles to feed. Everybody's coming in my office on Monday saying, hey, it's Baltimore. You know what? I will. Awesome.

28:30Pat McAfee:Scored on every single possession in the game, no turnovers. It was literally perfect. Yeah, I mean, the stats saying you're scoring almost three points a drive is insane. Because there's games where you have like three, four drives you don't score, obviously. So making up for those, it doesn't happen. Detroit Lions seemingly all the way back to who we thought they were offensively. Ty, you've got to be scared to death of this Detroit Lions team. Because if MCDC can just take over either coordinator position, it doesn't matter if they sub out. It doesn't matter if Kelvin Shepard ends up being the head coach at LSU if he wants that.

29:01Pat McAfee:or any NFL job that potentially opens up because of what he's been able to do with his defense so quickly. Because MCDC will have offensive side here, bang, defensive side here if he has to. That's what he's willing to do. That's got to be scary in the NFC North. I wouldn't say I'm scared to death because the Packers have one in the hand already on the Lions. But again, that was Johnny Moe calling the plays, not MCDC. But I think yesterday just reaffirmed. There's been a lot of talk about the Bears because they've won several in a row. You know, the Vikings had, I mean, discount yesterday, Vikings with JJ.

29:34And, you know, BA said, hey, we might get four teams from the NFC North end. The Packers are, you know, what they are. But it's very evident that, like, when the Lions play their A to, like, B-plus game, they are the best team in that division. They're still the team that you need to slay. So it'll be very interesting. But I just look at, I mean, you look at the, like, Bears are great right now, obviously. Lions hung 50 on them and beat the shit out of them. The Packers game, it is what it is week one. the Lions are a much different team when they meet again on Thanksgiving and then the Vikings are whatever but if the Lions can play like this, you'd be hard pressed to find a team that's better than them in the NFL

30:09Pat McAfee:Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic and Knuckles they got Sonic and Knuckles everywhere wide receiver we got Sonic and Knuckles, tight end we got Sonic and Knuckles running back we got Sonic and Knuckles and offensive play callers we got Sonic we kind of got literally and now some Lions fans are saying well in some games you got Yeah, ass and cheeks. All over the place. But Sonic and Knuckles seemingly everywhere around the line. And then there's even a toughness to the team that brings out other people to just punch them in the face. Did you guys see this? I don't know if everybody saw this. He got suspended for a game for this.

30:42Pat McAfee:Just out of nowhere, no look. Kind of a little bit of a sneaker. What are you saying? A little sneaky, sneaky, sneaker. Boom. Right to the button. Now, he has a helmet on. Okay? So, obviously, you're going to be protected. There's literally what the helmet's on for that. But Amon Ross St. Brown's hands are down, and he's walking a different direction. I'm not sure he knew a looping right was coming at his helmet. But I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. The NFL did not like it. The NFL did not like it immediately. Yep, he's suspended. Can't have that, especially when we got a lot of eyes on this because the president's going to be speaking in the third quarter.

31:20Pat McAfee:They're actually going to have him call play.

31:21Adam Schefter:Oh, that's probably why he's making shit. He probably didn't like to dance. What? I just thought about it. Chris Sims had no idea. Somebody needs to tell him maybe what was going on. At the beginning of that highlight, they were trying to lead you to something there. Maybe it was. I can't wait till I get next. Yabba! Great dance, by the way.

31:40Pat McAfee:I remember the talk of the town. I thought it was the opposite of that. I thought Darren Payne was more so saying, like, I ain't going to just sit here and get blown out in front of President Trump. I'm going to punch someone in the face. I'll love that. And then I don't have to play the rest of the game. So he knows you're saying. I'll tell you what, a lot of people said a lot of mean things to me because I broke some news out of the White House. I thought it was journalism. What are we talking about, journalism? They were meaning for breaking news? A lot of people were saying I was doing a lot of stuff.

32:06I was doing a lot of stuff. I mean, they're going to be crazy. I can't wait to see how they react tomorrow. I can't wait to see how they react. Tomorrow's a big one. It's not for the first 15 because tomorrow is a full 24 hours of honor and thanking. But I'll tell you, tomorrow is going to be big. Historic. I had a birthday, Marines. I had a birthday.

32:29Pat McAfee:It wasn't just the Detroit Lions that made the 4 o 'clock slate completely fornicated. Oh, no, no, there's two other options. And the NFC West said, we'll go ahead and take care of those for you. Los Angeles Rams, dominant. Now, it did become a little bit of a game. This one was a one-score game for a little bit, and then Matthew Stafford does ahead and hits the gas pedal at the end of this thing to put it away. This Los Angeles Rams team is special. Offensively, they're special. Obviously, Puka Nakua is Puka Nakua. He might be the best wide receiver in football on any given day whenever he's playing football.

33:01Pat McAfee:Insanely tough, very quick, vibes immaculate, and always wants to show up for his team. We love Oos. They add Devontae Adams, so now coverages have to do what they have to do. Down the red zone, they're damn near unstoppable because you can't double Devontae because you've got Puka on the other side. So Devontae's one-on-one either with your second or third corner. And on the goal line, that's unstoppable. I mean, it's absolutely, and Matthew Stafford does just that every time. This is their goal line play. It's every single week. Hey, Devontae, whatever the hell you want to do to the guy. If you want to go inside, you do it.

33:32Pat McAfee:You want to go outside, you do it. I'm going to hit you with the ball. They do it anytime they're inside the three. It's their tush push. They got the Hall of Fame right arm of Matthew Stafford and the Hall of Fame release of Devontae Adams. They put that together, and it's a touchdown-creating machine. It's outrageous what they've been able to build, especially because whenever they started building this team, they went all in and lost all their picks. They lost all their picks. They weren't looking for the future at all, is how everybody was judging them. And now here we are in that particular future.

34:01Pat McAfee:They're young on defense, very good. Offense, they have weapons. And Matthew Stafford looks like he's 14, 15, 16 years old again, spinning it all over the yard. Was it because of that two B1 and two in training camp? This guy's outrageous.

34:14Adam Schefter:He's better than he's ever been. Yeah, we're worried about him. Anytime you got an old player or quarterback coming into the season with a back injury, you're very, very worried. But he's playing probably the best football of his career. This is now three straight games where he's thrown four passing TDs and zero interceptions, which is insane in the National Football League. You talked about the players on the field. Obviously, everyone has the talent. We talked about it. But then the coaching. Coaching matters. And these are two coaches that are very familiar with each other. But Sean McVay has his boys rolling.

34:42Adam Schefter:Tom Brady, I think this was a great call. The freaking no look. I mean, he's the OG of that. He's been doing that for a long, long time. He makes it look so easy. I mean, go out and try this in your backyard with throwing a seven - and eight-year-olds. This is tough to do, let alone on the NFL field. But, yeah, Sean McVay has done a tremendous job. Tom Brady made a great point about something they're doing with their offense. They're using a lot of 13 personnels and then getting matchups with these wide receivers against linebackers and safeties because they're facing base coverages as opposed to like nickel coverages.

35:11So since week four, you talked about the four-plus passing touchdown owners. Since week four, he has 20 passing touchdowns to zero interceptions. Jesus. He's hilarious. Hey, that's the same. He got drafted on a class. Yes. Look what we're doing. Yep.

35:23Pat McAfee:Look what we're doing. We've been doing it for a while. How long we've been doing this? We got drafted. I got drafted 221 picks apart from Matthew Stafford.

35:30Adam Schefter:I got 40 picks after him. Damn. Damn. What the hell? Okay. Hey, dude. That's a good signing bonus. In that economy? Yeah. We have four. Your teammate, Donald Brown, went first round. I think he was the 27th pick maybe. And then we had Will Beattie go to the Giants in the second round. And now Cody Brown go to the Cardinals in the second round. Donald Brown was a beast. I love that, man. I hope he's good.

35:56Pat McAfee:We would all like to say what's up to him. But, yeah, Matthew Stafford's only getting better somehow. It makes no sense. And his no-look passes are getting more very regular now. It's just average stuff. I think a lot more people are doing it. But he has, to everybody's point, been doing this for his entire career, which is why B.A., who's called the quarterback whisperer, said that Matthew Stafford was the only quarterback he'd go out and watch warm up because of the shit he can do with it. Well, he's got weapons, he's got McVay calling the plays, and he can still do it. He's special right now.

36:26MVP at this age would be wild for Matthew Stafford. Yeah, definitely deserves it. And I believe Brady said on the broadcast that he's never been an all-pro quarterback, so he can lock that in for first team. But Brady also talked about how the no looks started with Calvin Johnson because everyone knew, okay, it's Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson on the lines. That's where the ball's going. So he just naturally started working on the no-look passes. But aside from that, D-Buck brought up the 13 personnel. Now that they can just roll out three tight ends, Higby, Ferguson, who was their second-round pick from Oregon, and Parkinson, who scored that touchdown there, they can legitimately beat you on offense.

37:06and I don't know how you can game plan for it.

37:08Pat McAfee:Let's talk about another team in the NFC West that can win it all. The Seattle Seahawks team is hilarious. They are so good. And we thought the Cardinals were good. We like the Cardinals. The Cardinals might still be good. They had a couple touchdowns they put up there. This was a boat race early. This was a lot of points to no points in Seattle. And Jackson Smith and Jigba gets on the board early. I think he went down for a little bit. Something happened. I don't remember. It was late in the thing. I think I saw a photo. Maybe not. Let's just act. If nobody else heard it or saw it, let's not even talk about it.

37:37Pat McAfee:We have a man on the phone here in about a minute and a half who will be able to give us some updates at it all. But the Seattle Seahawks, outrageous how good they are. Sam Darnold, so good. On the ground, so good. Through the sky, so good. Defensively, tough. Hard-nosed, signed. Gap control. It's like everything about him smells a stinker win a championship.

37:58Adam Schefter:Another legit contender right here. We always start with the quarterback. Sam Darnold has been playing at a very, very high level. But this game got out of reach early because of the defense. Two fumble returns. I don't think this has happened in I don't know how long, but DeMarcus Lawrence had two fumbles. Same two players on the strip sack in the fumble return, which is crazy. Jacoby Brissett kind of never had a chance. He was under duress all afternoon long. He'll stay in there. Whenever you get possessions like that, give the Seahawks extra possessions. You got no chance. This is a tough, tough ball club from the top to the bottom.

38:28Jacoby was staying in there, and he certainly had to. He was like seven sacks in the first half.

38:32Adam Schefter:Yeah, Cooper Cubs, sexy.

38:34Pat McAfee:I forgot about him. Him being back is crazy just because Jackson Smith and Jigba's having the season that he's having. Oh, yeah, triple crown, actually quadruple crown winner just from five, six years ago. Also on the team and hopefully healthy for the entirety of the year. Congrats to the Seahawks. The NFC's favorites, though, have kind of separated themselves. And tonight it's Eagles and Packers. So, you know, we're going to learn a lot here, I think, over the next few weeks. But it feels like we're starting to know who's who in both the conferences. the NFC favorites dominated that 4 o 'clock time slot.

39:03Pat McAfee:And we all started doing stuff other than watch the games. That was crazy. That was a weird thing. Three games, all of them bad, not good. That's why March Madness has like 15 games on at the same time. Hey, a couple of these are going to be ass. We've got to find a good one. We need that yesterday. Let's go to the number three headline. The Sportsbooks and Steelers fans knew. Sportsbooks had the Baltimore Ravens at like 2-4, 2-5 as the favorites to win the AFC North. When the Pittsburgh Steelers were 4-1 or whatever the hell it was, 4-2, 5-2, whatever the hell they were. They were way down early.

39:36Pat McAfee:Steelers spent all the money on the roster and were winning. And the sportsbooks did not budge. They're like, Baltimore Ravens are going to win the AFC North. This is how this is going to go. For weeks and weeks. And I actually just thought it was so preposterous. And I'm like, well, this sounds like it has to be right. So I've literally only picked the Ravens just because it's like the time travelers who do the sportsbooks things are saying this is going to happen. And lo and behold, it seems like it is happening. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens getting very, very good. Okay, very, very good. A couple turnovers from J.J.

40:08Pat McAfee:McCarthy. Obviously, the defense is only going to get better from where they started this entire thing. And Lamar Jackson, after he goes ahead and takes the ping pong tables and the cornhole board and everything out of the locker room, comes back from his hamstring injury completely locked in. Connor is giving a great face right now because obviously Drake May, J.J. McCarthy, conversations are going to happen. JJ will miss. He will miss by a lot. He will miss by a lot. He's got to get better with his accuracy, which I think is possible if you go back to Josh Allen. There's a chance he's able to do that.

40:39Pat McAfee:Has competitive spirit, all that shit. He misses a lot of throws by a lot, but he also makes throws out of nowhere that shouldn't be made. On that note, Baltimore Ravens. One step is a slip.

40:51AJ Hawk:That's not JJ either. That's not.

40:54Pat McAfee:Okay, okay. You're right. It's his on-field. Maybe we need to see J.J. Maybe J.J. is the NFL version. Yeah, maybe nine isn't in the NFL. Maybe nine retired with a national championship. Got a lot of Will Levin's in him. But in a leadership sense, he has a lot of Tom Brady in him. That's right. Okay, so there's a lot of things you can look at that. I'll look on the other side. Baltimore Ravens are real. And the Baltimore Ravens, the sportsbooks knew they were going to be good. Lamar Jackson feels good. A lot of losses early. They're going to be chasing all season. and that's good motivation for that team.

41:27Pat McAfee:And then the Pittsburgh Steelers get a huge win over the Indianapolis Colts. Makes me as a Colts fan, don't worry, you'll see number one of the headlines here. You'll see exactly where I'm at. Makes me as a Colts fan question some things, but we had six turnovers. Like, that's not going to be a normal day. But the Pittsburgh Steelers forced those things. You know, the Pittsburgh Steelers made great plays. It's like maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers are a team that we need to think about going forward. That's how I felt after the Colts game. Last night, halftime, I said, fuck this. I'm going to bed.

41:52Pat McAfee:You weren't killing it. I'm going to bed. I'm not staying up for this shit. I mean, it was not good last night, but we think the Chargers are a good football team as well. But it feels like Steelers fans have been waiting for this particular game, especially on primetime. Yeah, there was about a week ago when I looked at the schedule to see what time this game was. Oh, shit, it's a primetime game. This is not going to go well. I don't know why things don't go well in primetime for the Steelers as of late, but they don't. Specifically on the offensive side of the ball, anything that could go wrong did go wrong last night.

42:20It was Aaron Rodgers' worst game of the season by far. Wasn't even close. was overthrowing DK, was underthrowing guys. That was not even that was an overthrow for an interception. Boz missed a field goal.

42:32Pat McAfee:Inside 50. 45. As soon as Boz missed a field goal, I knew the night was over. The defense played well. I mean, they held the charges to what, 12 points in the fourth quarter. But yeah, after Boz missed in halftime, I said, I know what this team's going to do in the second half and it's not going to be good. So I turned it off. This team is not going to ruin my night and tomorrow morning. Okay, so I like that you said that. I like that you said that. But on that note, that's what Steelers fans have been saying about the Steelers team, even whenever they've had the winning record.

43:00Adam Schefter:Yeah, Steelers fans, I give them this, they know ball. Even when they were 11 all those years ago, they're like, no, this ain't a Super Bowl winning team. Steelers fans are very, very truthful. They're knowledgeable. They know their team. They know how they're going to show up on prime time. But I was surprised with this outcome because the Steel Curtain showed up now. It is true. It was only because the 05 team was there. because this... What the hell? Okay.

43:28Jack Carr here? Oh, no. He better be. Zito's on the run. Thank you, Zito. The thing didn't close either. The fire trap door?

43:40Pat McAfee:Well, that is actually, I think, that is sports media telling us through we have breaking news. Brian Dayball has been fired. What? As the New York Giants head coach, in the middle of the first 15 here, our alarms were sirening off because, hey, there's breaking news. Stop talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers losing to the Chargers. You lost enough of your life watching that game last night. Pivot to some breaking news. The New York football Giants are moving on from their head coach. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, a senior NFL insider for ESPN, Michigan man Adam Schefter. Shefty, I know you were kind of waiting for us to finish while you were breaking that news.

44:26Pat McAfee:Did you expect that was coming this morning, or has this kind of come out of nowhere for you, Shefty? No, I think that we kind of had a sense that this was possible. We knew this was coming. And, Pat, our timing has been impeccable over the last week. We're basically, you're getting me honest, we got Sauce Gardner being traded, Rasheed Shahid being traded, Quinton Williams was coming down last week. Will he remind you of all the things I've done here? It is just Brian Gable who has been dismissed as the only one. Interesting. This is pretty amazing. When you look at it, the Giants interim head coach, whoever that will be, will be their sixth head coach since 2016.

45:11Pat McAfee:Jeez. Okay, so that's nine years ago, sixth head coach, obviously a lot of turnover. We saw the hard knocks behind the scenes in the offseason. whenever Mara comes in and Shane talks about moving on from Saquon to go in with Danny Dimes. We've seen Dayball run the meetings basically for all of their picks that they've done at the combine in the draft process. Dayball knew this was a make-or-break season. Is that why he potentially wanted Aaron Rodgers maybe as quarterback, Russell Wilson as a quarterback, Jameis Winston as a quarterback, like a veteran quarterback to be able to go on a run? And what does this mean for Jackson Dart in the development of the future here, Shefty, in your eyes?

45:50Well, I think here's the deal. Jackson Dart has been evaluated for four concussions this year. Four. And so the biggest thing this team can do is make sure it's protecting its quarterback. We've got a quarterback that has been evaluated for four concussions. We've got a team that has blown double-digit leads in four different road games. They are the inverse of the Chicago Bears. They've been in a position to win all these games and haven't gotten it done. And I think that at some point in time, you make the decision that we're not going to move forward with this guy. I think this is a team also that puts so much money and time and investments and picks into its defense.

46:37And the defense is one of the worst in the league right now. And so I think that they feel like they need a reboot here. and they made the decision to move on from Brian Dayball. We'll see who the interim head coach is. I'm trying to think of the candidates on staff. Mike Kafka is the offensive coordinator. He might be a candidate here to take over as the head coach, though they might want him to concentrate on the offense, in which case it would be the special teams coach. But Brian Dayball becomes the second head coach let go this year following Brian Callahan in Tennessee.

47:13Pat McAfee:You talk about the defense and having all these players supposed to be good and being dreadful, then it makes you automatically go to Shane. So Shane, they're not moving on from Shane right now, you say, the general manager. Do we think he— Not right now. I'm told that Brian D 'Abel is the only one. Look, I think it's fair to assume that when you're firing the head coach, everybody is going to come under review. Everybody. What they do with that, we'll see. That'll be up to John Mara, Steve Tisch, and others. But obviously, they felt like this was a move that they had to make today. Okay, we appreciate the insight and thank you for joining us here immediately.

47:46Pat McAfee:We've talked about a few things in this top five headlines. Do you mind if we go to number two right now while you're on here? What is number two? More visible picture at the MVP picture. It feels like there is now a three-horse race for the MVP in Drake May, Matthew Stafford, and Jonathan Taylor. First, we'll go with Drake May. Unbelievable for a second year, second head coach, second offensive coordinator. three if you go back three years for him back to college he is leading this patriots i mean it is fun to watch had him early you know it feels like the tampa bay buccaneers todd bowles defense had him early because i was reading connor's uh tweets about it's like whoa tough day with todd bowles right now tough day then he makes this throw with a guy about to hit him has to be a touch pass with like a quarter throw and it's like this dude is special special and it's not just us saying that, Schefter.

48:38Pat McAfee:Sportsbooks have him as the odds-on favorite to win the MVP. That is insane to think about at this stage. Matthew Stafford, we just talked about being immaculate. And then Jonathan Taylor, this dude's special. 250 yards or whatever it was in Germany yesterday. He's been doing it all season. There's a lot of stats and factoids about what he's been doing versus Adrian Peterson in Adrian Peterson's MVP season. Up to this point, obviously what the teams were, 8-2, 6-4. He has 17 touchdowns i had i thought we had a seven touchdowns 1399 yards from scrimmage 1283 yards from scrimmage so what jonathan taylor doing is doing is obviously historic and obviously better than an mvp season was for a running back in the past adrian peterson we all have massive respect for as a football player he was untackleable and jonathan taylor's the same damn thing and when jonathan taylor gets any space he's gone he is winning games for the indianapolis colts and you got everybody on that team, you know, Zaire at the end of that 44 was saying, you're the best player in the world, literally on camera.

49:43Pat McAfee:I got a text from Daniel Jones that said, we got the best player on earth in Jonathan Taylor. He said, life is good with him. Nobody expected this from the Colts, Adam Schefter. And I don't know if anybody expected this from Jonathan Taylor either. If you're a voter, which I don't know if you are or not, are you going to give it to a running back, Schefter, or is this just a quarterback award, do you think, through and through? Well, here's what I'm saying to you, Pat. If we go back the last 12 years, 12, okay, the quarterback has won the most valuable player. By the way, Mike Kafka, officially the interim head coach for the New York Giants.

50:18Mike Kafka, the interim head coach for the New York Giants. He takes over for Brian Dayball, who was let go here this afternoon. I want to give you something here that's interesting. The quarterback position, a quarterback has won the NFL MVP each of the last 12 years. If we go back over the last seven, there are 50 voters for the MVP award. My friend Peter King pointed this out to me this morning. There are 50 voters for the MVP award. In the last seven years, there have been 350 first place votes for the MVP. Of those 350 votes, 349 over the last seven years have been for quarterbacks. The only single vote, single vote in the last seven years not for a quarterback was for Cooper Cup in 2021.

51:12Other than that, a quarterback has gotten every first place vote for the MVP award. So, that tells you that Drake May, Matthew Stafford, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, they're in the lead. However, saying that, I am not a voter. I'm glad I'm not a voter. But I guess I'm not, you know, I've never been asked to be a voter. I've not been a voter since I was younger. Those privileges were revoked. My Hall of Fame privileges were revoked when I was in NFL Network. They never gave him back to me. I guess I can make fun of it now. Nobody ever gave me back. And there are a lot of people out there, in fact, that know the game way better than me.

51:52So they don't need my vote, and they don't need me to vote on the Hall of Fame either. Of course. There's a lot of people a lot more than me. Oh, geez, the fire drops outside. Jesus. Everything's all right. We're okay, boys. Thanks for coming, boys. Let them know. Dayball was just getting fired, dude. So the fire alarms went off here in Indianapolis.

52:09Pat McAfee:But I did not know you got your voting privileges revoked. I'm happy you keep that chip on your shoulder every single day when you wake up and try to change the course of the NFL with your breaking news. 349 of the 350 votes over the last seven years have gone to a quarterback. Cooper Cup, obviously everybody says he won the Triple Crown that year. It was actually the quad because he got the yards after catch too. Oh, yeah. So it was like catches, touchdowns, yards, and then also yards after catch he had. So it was like all four he was across the board. He got one MVP vote. Okay, he got one. Jonathan Taylor's doing special things.

52:42Pat McAfee:Let's go to somebody who actually has an MVP vote, AP tone. Running back, potentially in the running, especially with how good this Colts team is. The position we're in, best team in the AFC. And he is clearly the best player on the team. Everybody on the team agrees that. Yeah, good news. Just got the email this week. I am back this year. I was – He gets to keep his, Shefty. You bum? Shefty's a bum. Shefty, you can send me your list. Maybe I'll take it into consideration or not. But, yes, yes, Jonathan Taylor and a running back should always be considered when you're having a historic season like this.

53:13It doesn't have to be just a quarterback award. It's not named a quarterback award. So, yes, if Jonathan Taylor is the most valuable player, he should win the MVP award.

53:21Pat McAfee:Drake May, odds on favorite to win the MVP. No Patriots fan. Go ahead. I'm sorry. Well, that's what I was saying before I got in a little bit of a riff. I don't know how you don't give the award today, today, November 10th, to Jonathan Taylor. The guys had four hat-trick games, four games where he scored three touchdowns each he right now is on pace to do things that very few running backs in the history of football ever have done we're talking about a historic season now again there are a lot of games left but look at the production look how it compares to an adrian peterson won mvp john only scored he's only scored 10 more touchdowns than him at this point right oh yeah 10 more right yeah so yeah that's what's again pat if i did have a vote right now i would vote for john but i don't have a vote so i can't okay yeah we understand you got it revoked once again now you're in the back tone said he will listen to any ideas but obviously he has more sway than you he still has to vote for good reason but let's go to the odds on favor right now because of everything you just chatted about i think everybody just assumes including sports books inevitably at the end of the day push comes to shove whenever it's time to vote they'll say the person that's touching the ball every single play is the most valuable position.

54:38Pat McAfee:That is normally the argument. It's not the most best player. It's the most valuable player. Quarterback's always going to be the most valuable. That's why they're getting paid$60 million a year because they touch the ball every single play. Jonathan Taylor, I think Danny Dimes would be okay with him touching the ball every single play. And I think our offense would. But we got weapons everywhere else as well, which is why the culture's so good. Let's talk about Drake May, though. Odds on favorite con man. Nobody expected that as a Patriots fan coming into the season, right? How could you expect the Patriots' second-year quarterback, who wasn't the first quarterback drafted, he's on a brand-new head coach, to be the MVP odds-on favorite through 10 weeks?

55:12Pat McAfee:Congrats to you guys, and congrats to Drake May, who seemingly has it all. Yeah, incredible. First 10 games, just to kind of piggyback off that Jonathan Taylor thing, for Drake May. He's the first quarterback in the history of the NFL to have 2 ,500 pass yards, 70-plus completion percentage, 250 rushing yards, and five or fewer interceptions. Shout-out Greg Harvey. When we're talking about value and just, you know, valuable as being the word here, you can go to all those other players and then look at the cap space spent across the other offenses. I mean, it's not even close. Drake May would be most valuable.

55:46I think Matt Stafford's most deserving.

55:48Pat McAfee:Okay, and the number one story of the weekend is the Colts are going to win a Super Bowl. Hell yeah. Colts are going to win a Super Bowl. Congrats to us. A huge win. We got about a hard out here in one minute. This came quickly. 42-minute first 15 here. Shefty, Eagles-Packers tonight. Literally one minute we have. What should we be thinking about? I got you. Step out of the way, Pat. I got you. I think we're going to get Nolan Smith back tonight for the Philadelphia Eagles. I think he'll be activated by 4 o 'clock. Jair Alexander did not make the trip for the Philadelphia Eagles. He's not going to play against his former team.

56:19And this is all about the tush push tonight. The Packers were the team that proposed banning it. We heard Micah Parsons last year with the Cowboys talk about the fact that it was a terrible play. Now the Eagles are going to get a chance to take their tush-push and shove it up the Packers tush-push tonight in Green Bay. I'm going to have football.

56:35Pat McAfee:You're the man. Way to tush-push your way right through that. You're the best, Adam Schaefer. Adam Schaefer. You look good. Breaking news on the show. We appreciate the hell out of him. And that's First 15, ladies and gentlemen. Have a good one, boys.

57:39Pat McAfee:Football! Happy birthday to the Marine Corps. More and breaking news from the first hour. We'll be live from Parris Island tomorrow as we honor and thank the veterans of this United States of America as the only show that will be live from a base tomorrow, I do believe, and also the only show that's ever really been live from Parris Island. Parris Island is the eastern half of the United States of America Marines boot camp. Eastern Mississippi, you go Parris Island. Western Mississippi, you go San Diego. Okay, this is where Marines are made. They actually have a sign that says, We Make Marines, that all the recruits during their final, on their way to the Eagle Globe and Anchor Ceremony, walk under and hike through.

58:21Pat McAfee:And then they get to the parade deck, and then they're officially made into Marines after a grueling 13-week boot camp down there. where it is everything you could imagine and then some. With drill instructors who are the baddest humans on earth, expecting perfection from 0, 400, all the way to 2, 200, I believe, hours. And every moment in between is perfection. We need it. And also, we need you to not be asking any questions and just go do the damn thing. First to fight are the Marines kind of mantra. And tomorrow we'll be very lucky to be able to broadcast live from their home. And, yeah, it's going to be a special day tomorrow.

59:05Pat McAfee:As we say thanks to the vets around the United States of America, we're incredibly lucky and thankful that we're going to be able to do it. The Toxit Tables here at Boston Corner and at Ty Schmidt. Big one tonight, Ty. Big one tonight. Yeah, kind of a must-need. Almost a have to win this one tonight. I like that you went with the NFL Premium Plus Pro kind of – Love that. Tossel cap, if you will. Yeah. Even though it doesn't have the tossel. Tossel, yeah. Beanie. Beanie. What I'm talking about is a fold-up, though. A toque. Beanie. I don't know if Beanie has the fold-up, right? That's kind of the...

59:33Pat McAfee:Beanie has the... Yeah, that... Or well, all the way around. You see, he has the... And does Beanie have the thing? The top little... No, that's a tossle. I think that's a tossle. It is, yeah. Beanie, for me, doesn't have the fold-up. It's just the... It's just the hat on it. It's just that down. That's why it's over. Yeah, that one, I don't think... So maybe a toque? It's a toque, eh? You called it Scully? Scully. See, I think you would call Scully the one that doesn't have the – The photo? Yeah. Doesn't go over your ears? Yeah. I would have just called it a winter hat growing up. Let me just grab one of my winter hats here.

1:00:06Pat McAfee:That's what you said? I think Canadians call it a toque. Is that what the title is, Gumpy? Yeah, it's a toque. That's what it's called, dude. Okay. We're not calling it that. A toque? It's a gourd on you to say that with that hat on. We might call it a toque. Pinnacle, brother. Okay, that is nine-year NFL vet Darius J. Butler. Grew up in South Florida, you know, so all this talk about beanies and scullies and tassel caps are certainly right on brand for everything going on. That particular hat was alarming today. Did not expect to see that. Thought we were out of the woods. No kidding. Like for a long time.

1:00:37Adam Schefter:We got a couple more weeks. Championship. It's championship season.

1:00:40Pat McAfee:Joining us now live from an attic in Ohio is a college football national champion, Super Bowl champion, Ryder Cup winner, hater of G1, ladies and gentlemen, AJ. Hawker, what do you call it? Snow hat. I've always called that. All versions, whether it folds or not, we just say snow hat. Really? Snow hat. Yeah, I don't know where I got it from, but yeah, someone obviously passed it down to me here in Ohio. Oh, the different forms. You call them all the same. What about the one with the – All the way? Yeah, like the Russian – Oh, yeah. Like the old – what's the movie? Grumpy Old Man, like those dudes that wrap around your ears and you tie it underneath.

1:01:16I don't know, the old man snow hat maybe.

1:01:17Pat McAfee:Okay, maybe that's the right play because they have that fold up in the front. I had a run with that one where I thought by far coolest snow hat, I guess, is what we're calling all these things. That one was the best. Have you seen that one?

1:01:28Adam Schefter:I have not. I just remember that, though, when Pete Thamel was about to beat this shit out of Bruce. He was trying to be low-key.

1:01:37Pat McAfee:Yeah, he had beanie on. He had Scully on, beanie on. There was no fold up there. The one that goes over the ears, I think we should all think about if we get into another situation where we're calling a game from the sideline. I think we should all have matching ones of those. That's a good idea. There's like Eskimo hats almost. Inuit, yeah, for sure. I think that is what you would certainly get. Sounds much worse, actually. The proper name sounds much worse. That's what we called them, Con Man, growing up for what it's worth. Inuits? I bet you did. No, we used the other word and used that hat, but that is what we called them growing up.

1:02:13Pat McAfee:Oh, you're talking about Inuit brothers. Yeah, bingo. That's exactly like that.

1:02:18Adam Schefter:What you talking about? Never heard that term. What? I've heard other terms. What? Really? I'm not going to say it. No, I think. What are you talking about, though? All right. I just never heard Inuit brothers. Commander brothers?

1:02:31Pat McAfee:I think you can kind of tie ipso facto. Guardian brothers? Joining us now, AJ, let's talk about some of the games yesterday. Now, Inuit's a great name, by the way. I pitched for a hockey team named the Inuit. and I don't know if it's really a brand name, you know, but we can make it that. Could be. Certainly be making the world a lot better too. Eskimos, I believe, proper term is annual if you were to Google it. Sure. I believe that would say that. Nonetheless, legends, both of them. And their hats, the best. Oh, yeah. For good reason because they got a – It's cold up there.

1:03:07Adam Schefter:I have some rides. You've seen those, right? Tuskegee Airmen. Oh. Yes. Yeah. Yeah, you're right. That is what it is. Yep. I have seen. So you should wear those maybe. Yeah, if we got another Ohio State game situation, absolutely.

1:03:19Pat McAfee:How about the Tennessee team when they came out shirtless? All of us from the north were just like, this is not the one to do that, brother. If it's like 40, 30, maybe that, we're negative right now. Yeah, your body's taking an actual damage right now. You are, what we say, in a bad position. I looked it up because I was just always a tossful guy. Apparently that's a yinzer term. Tossful cap? Mm-hmm. it's good see that's what happens game day's going to pittsburgh on saturday uh obviously pittsburgh steelers last night in prime time against chargers put the world to bed at halftime probably with the way that whole thing went what are your thoughts on this pittsburgh steelers team we had a i think our number three headline or something was sportsbooks and steelers fans new sportsbooks had the baltimore ravens as the winners of the afc north weeks ago whenever they were way out of contention in a lot of people's eyes especially if you looked at the record and Lamar Jackson was hurt.

1:04:12Pat McAfee:Steelers are riding high. I mean, Steelers even get a win over Indianapolis Colts last week. I think the Colts' best team in football in all three phases, so maybe Steelers are able to go. Steelers fans never really believed that they could do anything special. They felt like it was another year. Ho-hum, how are you going to do? The Steel Curtain being all the way back last week, putting up a good performance against Herbert, maybe indicates that they're going to be good down the road. Like, what do you think about this Pittsburgh Steelers team? Are they for real, or are the Steelers fans in sports books right, you think, AJ?

1:04:38Yeah, I don't know. I don't know how Steelers fans, I know Tone sometimes will lean negative when he thinks of the Steelers and what they're going to do when he thinks all doom and gloom, like, here we go, he's going to write them off for the end of the year. I would never write them off. I still think they can put it together. But from the start of this game, even though they were in it for a long time, no matter how poorly they were playing, something was just off. It's one of those games, I don't know, you've got to give the Chargers credit, obviously, their defense, especially Matt McConkie.

1:05:03This guy's awesome. Chargers are awesome. I don't know. Chargers, I'm sorry about that. But Aaron, you know, a couple balls are high. A ball ricochets off old buddy and gets picked. Things like that happen, and they never really – a lot of times you can settle in and you'll get a rhythm, and they just never found that rhythm offensively. Chargers go football team too. That is getting lost in the sauce. That's why it was a Sunday night football matchup.

1:05:23Adam Schefter:But after – especially after what the Steel Curtain did to us for the – because Joe Alt, he's out. He's hurt, and he's out for the season it looks like, I think, I believe. And they're a completely different team when Joe Alt isn't in that lineup. and I know we give a bunch of shit to the PFF. Did you see them? Ratings pregame, but I think we have four offensive linemen from the Chargers that were like 34, 35 of 36 in that starting lineup. So I expect especially off of the Steelers. It was insane. It was like center coaching of all time. Why do they want to put that on TV? We got to find the grab because it was the worst I've seen, especially on the heels of the conversation we had with the ratings.

1:06:03Adam Schefter:But, yeah, I was surprised for the Steelers to not show up. The Chargers ran the ball well, and obviously Herbert made some timely throwing catches, including Keenan Allen becoming the all-time leader. Congrats, Keenan. We love you, Keenan.

1:06:16Pat McAfee:We're big fans of Keenan. Huge. First time goes to Chicago, second time he comes back there. I just don't understand why NBC would want to showcase the ass of their positions. Like, why is that something you'd want to lead the show with? Why would you want to – can you put that down here? Can you put that down in here, too? Yeah. Bradley Bozeman, PFF rank, 36 of 36. He'll be your center tonight. Let's go to Trey Pipkins III. He's your right tackle. He'll be the 35th out of 36 right tackles in the entire NFL. And don't you worry, Makai Becton Sr. here. You think that actually says 38 of 37. He's close.

1:06:5536 of 37. When we talk about ass, we mean this offensive line here. austin deculus he is 38 of 38 possible tackles that is what you're tuning in to watch tonight folks 35 36 37 and 38 of their position groups that is what we want yeah why would you even want

1:07:19Pat McAfee:to sell that wow like why would you let alone if i'm the line coach i would sorry if i'm the line coach i'm saying hey look what i we've won this game look who i'm working with even though he doesn't feel that way about his players. He sure loves them, but it does make you think, hey, look, I can coach anybody out here. These guys look good. They're rated. Can we not find a stat for Deculis that makes this guy's three-point stance looks cooler than anybody else's? Put mean cuss on the bottom. Deculis. Mean cuss. PFF stat. Mean cuss. Exactly. This guy, PFF stat. Very new. Doesn't have a lot of reps.

1:07:52His reps, not good. Could be good tonight, though. Anything

1:07:56Pat McAfee:Anything that maybe sells the pro, I don't know why, and it feels like they're even more cemented in. Without a doubt. Without a doubt. Yeah, for sure. And that's certainly a part of a negotiation. I assume Chris Collinsworth has, you've got to use PFF on it. Oh, yeah. You know, it's probably a part of it all. But it's like, why would you want to do that? Now you pissed off all those players forever. Right. Those players and their families are pissed off forever at you. And it's like, also, if you're just a casual watcher, it's like, oh, great, Sunday Night Football is all the worst players in the league.

1:08:22Pat McAfee:That's cool. Why does anybody want that out there? My brain, too small, too stupid. I don't think I fully understand it. Well, and most people understand that you can just throw away that and you just completely ignore it. But, like, for a lot of casual fans, I mean, Sunday Night Football is the biggest game in town. We've got so many people watching that. And it creates unrealistic expectations. So you've got fans watching, like Steelers fans who, you know, maybe aren't, you know, someone who covers it day-to-day like we do. They look at that and it's like, oh, well, if we don't beat the hell out of these guys, we fucking suck.

1:08:52Are you kidding me? and then that happens and it's like,

1:08:54Pat McAfee:how much are we paying? Yeah, exactly. We got 34, 35, 36, a 38 out of 38 in this offensive line. TJ Watt can't get home. We're going to lose this game? Mm-hmm. Okay, I don't think so. Yeah, I think everybody's probably on his side, but PFF. Well, I guess probably, PFF's probably sick of it too. Like, there's probably people within PFF that are like, we shouldn't be putting out the 38 of 38 rankings. Like, I'm sure there's people in there somewhere. Is this good free pub for them? Is this free pub that they don't care about even though it's somewhat negative publicity people talking about? Yeah, I mean, it's all in how you want to operate and live your life.

1:09:27Yeah, it's still going to be on there next Sunday. Yeah, it really is. I was going to say, you see how I negotiated that in there? This guy sucks. You see it. This guy's terrible. This guy really good. He should be asking for a trade actually next year. This guy ass. That's crazy. Sorry, Bradley.

1:09:42Pat McAfee:Hey, Mr. Bozeman, sorry we went back. Hey, all we know, hashtag stat that, 1-0 Sunday night against Pittsburgh. That's right. That's tough, though. Bozeman's got a lot of texts from a lot of people that he hasn't talked to in a long time. But I didn't know you were having such a hard time. You suck at your job, man. Hey, the NFL, tough game, dude. Tough game. These guys are the best. Do they rank 36 centers? Sorry, do they rank 36 centers? Or is that just like interior linemen? What is that? I think it's centers. It's probably injuries and stuff. Yeah, dude. Every snap. That's right. Every assignment.

1:10:14Every assignment. They know every assignment. You weren't supposed to pass that guy off and get the second guy. That guy actually got the sack. You were supposed to get that guy. No, I was never supposed to get that guy. No, you were. BFF size. Get it. See it? You touched him. You let him go.

1:10:31Pat McAfee:Well, yeah, because I was passing him off. The guard's supposed to have his... Nope. Nope. 51 was the mic. No, we actually had 55 as the mic here because we were offsetting because they got a guy. Nope. Clearly. Do you want us to show you the diagram? Here's Will. Here's Sam. Here's the mic. That's not right. That's actually a joker. That's a star. That's not even... Nope. PFF size. This is the mic. We saw you before the snap, two points, the wrong guy. Negative. All of it. We saw the quarterback try to get it. The quarterback came up here and said, hey, no, it's this guy. And then you shoot him off.

1:11:03You were wrong twice, actually, before the thing, two negatives. Don't worry. We dinged the quarterback as well for not being able to, you know, properly assess who it was. He got dinged as well.

1:11:12Pat McAfee:Yeah, he should have been able to convince you that you were wrong. So he got a negative for the player as well. PFF size. Listen, we don't want to turn this entire show into this because we could. We could. We could go. I could go 45 minutes right now. Yep. Easy. Just acting like I'm a stats hero. Okay? Which there's a lot of you out there. Okay? Not as much as it was before. Four years ago, it feels like the stats people were really were the kings of sports. It really did feel like it. Then reality settled in a little bit. Like, hey, you know, numbers are numbers, but the people that are creating the numbers, existing in real time, humans.

1:11:48Pat McAfee:And unless something's 100 to 0, even then, maybe, it's not a guarantee that you guys are right. If stats were right, then sports betting wouldn't be a thing because it would be easy just to kind of read what you guys say and then that's a matter of fact. But humans don't wake up like video games. Humans wake up, maybe they're supposed to be a 94 and they wake up at an 82 because it's week 10. Or sometimes people wake up and they say, I'm 99 today. I don't got the chain. I don't have any of that. But you all just kind of view it as a video game, these stats people. So we just want to let you know, we appreciate you stats people.

1:12:19Pat McAfee:We appreciate the humility over the last couple of years because massive piece of football. And on that note, every time they put up the PFF ranking, you all look like assholes. Valid? Yeah. It's not just PFF that looks like an asshole. No. It's all the stats world looks like. Because us in the sports world, my entire career was built off stats, obviously much more basic stats than the stats you guys find. And I respect stats. But us in the sports world just go like, these idiots still, at the very beginning, just don't get it. They just don't get it. They just don't get it. And they're just sticking to their ways, which is awesome.

1:12:53Pat McAfee:Yeah, we're going to put 38 out of 38 up there. Somebody's typing that in. And approving it. We want to run this in the open. Biggest game of the night. Pittsburgh Steelers are part of this one. Probably going to be pretty big. Chargers big. Sunday Night Football, we've been waiting all day. Up and to the right. You want to run this? 38 out of 38. Kind of makes this guy look like ass. is that what he is yeah send it out there and they get a win this steelers team might stink oh no oh no i think uh a lot of reaction tweets coming from pittsburgh steelers i think they're just an average football team they can look shitty one night they can look great one week um and at the end uh we're just gonna be the same we have been for the last few years all right we hit the top five headlines uh in the first hour we missed a couple things and We always say, hey, D-Bot, what are two things maybe we missed in our first 15?

1:13:44Pat McAfee:D-Bot, what were those two things that we missed in our first 15?

1:13:47Adam Schefter:We'll start with the New York Jets. The first thing we missed with the first 15, obviously Nick Mango. They did a great job representing him. Jeremy Ruckert, former Ohio State tight end, actually walked in with Nick Mango's jersey. I thought it was awesome. Awesome. And then the Jets, they showed up. They got a gritty win. We talked about teams with the back against the wall. team obviously selling at the trade deadline how they're going to show up how they're going to compete and they did it even with this ugly stat line from the offense and the quarterback position the special teams the third phase showed up we got one goo right here with a 95 yard kick return unbelievable you know up the sideline unbelievable play when your team's struggling especially on offense These special teams play a huge role in getting your team to win.

1:14:39Adam Schefter:And then the very next return, we got a long punt return from Isaiah Williams. Now, you never see this. I believe we saw it earlier in the season with the Patriots. They had two back-to-back returns. But this is unbelievable against the Cleveland Browns right here. You cannot have this. Isaiah Williams and the flag was obviously not on the New York Jets. Unbelievable job by the New York Jets. You say, we say, Isaiah Wilson. That's him. Williams. Williams? Williams. Yeah, Isaiah Williams. That's what I said. I said Wilson. That's exactly what you said. I clearly said Wilson.

1:15:10Pat McAfee:But it is Mr. Williams. Anytime your special teams can roll like that, come on.

1:15:15Adam Schefter:And Brees Hall. Brees Hall had a big game, too. He had a late touchdown here. Once again, Phil's only completed six passes. Seed. Right between the two and the zero. Great blocking on the edge. And he gives up on the field. Obviously, Brees Hall was a big name around the trade deadline as well. He had a big game. Another guy who was a big name around the deadline, Will McDonald. He had four sacks. So, once again, when that offense – He had a form, dude. He had four sacks. He had an unbelievable performance. And I thought Aaron Glenn, we talked about it earlier with the Dolphins and Mike McDaniel.

1:15:50Adam Schefter:Aaron Glenn, you know, when you're selling and you're trading and you're getting all these picks and you're obviously rebuilding for the future, how are the guys in that locker room going to show up and compete? It obviously is going to represent how the coach hasn't prepared. He had a great post-game speech. I thought the postgame vibes were in. And something he said at the end of this speech was it's not just about buy-in, but it's about staying. So, obviously, you buy-in, and it feels great when you get a win right here. We know how it was with the ugly start with the Detroit Lions, and now they're an absolute wagon.

1:16:16Adam Schefter:Maybe this is the beginning for the New York Jets, who's been looking for a turnaround for a long, long time.

1:16:21Pat McAfee:What happened in Detroit first year? MC, D.C., and Aaron Glenn, obviously a massive piece of what happened up there in Detroit. But what happened in your first year with D.C.? Started out 0-10, 3-13-1 was the final record there. Okay, so obviously it might take a little bit to flip an entire culture. Feels like the Jets for this time are ahead of schedule maybe in a restart because they were able to get rid of some of the big pieces of the past, AJ. Is that what you're thinking as well? Yeah, it's definitely possible. But the thing about the Lions compared to the Jets, the Lions had Jared Goff, right, the whole time.

1:16:50Are the Jets moving forward with – is this their quarterback? Do they have their franchise quarterback?

1:16:55Pat McAfee:Now, I will say every insider and football pundit person from ESPN we talked to, okay, says they got a lot of picks, they got a lot of money, now they got to go make a selection, a quarterback, and blah, blah, blah. They've already done that. They selected Justin Fields. Many times. They paid Justin Fields a lot of money. They paid him$30 million, I think, in total,$20 million a year. Now, granted, is that anything in comparison to what other quarterbacks are getting? No, but the Pittsburgh Steelers had him last year. The Pittsburgh Steelers made him an offer. I think a couple other teams made him an offer.

1:17:24Pat McAfee:New York Jets paid him by far the most money to be their quarterback. So I'm not saying that they said, hey, Justin Fields is our answer forever, but they certainly have made a quarterback decision already. And it's like it has not worked out. There was a stat something about like 12 yards or something. Yeah. Fewest pass yards in a game this season coming from Hembo real quick. Jets in week six loss versus the Broncos, 10. Jets in week 10 versus the Browns, 42. Jets in week two loss versus Bills, 54. And what was the stat? If you take out the 42-yard touchdown from Brees Hall's screen right there, Justin Fields had 12 passing yards.

1:17:59Why are we taking it out? I agree. But that's the stat I saw. He answered the stat we saw. That's what I saw. Yeah, and once again, I just saw it. My eyes saw it. And once I saw it, I thought to myself, well, that's impossible. And if ifs and buts were candies and nuts, we'd all blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, what?

1:18:15Pat McAfee:You know, but obviously you can't take away a pass and then say that was his total pass yards. But what the stat was alluding to is like, was this Brees Hall or was this Justin Fields here? and then once you say, okay, well, let's eliminate that. Let's just go straight to Justin Fields. They're like, barely a first down this guy's thrown for.

1:18:32Adam Schefter:Yeah, so I did see the next-gen passing chart, and it was – It was pouring rain. It was pouring rain for one, but also like with Fields, and of course you need a long-term answer at quarterback for sure, but if you have picks that are in the top ten, how valuable are five – or sorry, five-star players, whether that's offensive line, defensive line, corner, and granted they just traded two of those positions away. But still, let's say they do say – Smaller contracts. Yeah, yeah, smaller contracts. And let's say with Fields it's like, okay, you're right. We did pick our guy for two years, so let's just ride this contract out.

1:19:08We have a bunch more picks the year after. There's no way they can play with Justin Fields again next week – I mean next year. No chance.

1:19:17Pat McAfee:There's no way. There's no chance. And Justin, we love Justin. I don't really know him actually. But I am a fan of Justin Fields from afar. I think he's probably a great human. I think he's a great leader. I love his commitment to his body. I appreciate everything he did at Ohio State. I think he's a freak athlete. I think when he gets the ball in his hands, he's the fastest guy on the field. It is amazing to watch. He's tough. He's actually tough, too. He took a monster shot, if you remember, in college as well and kept coming. Yeah, but in the NFL as well. When he was back with the Bears, the only highlights that were coming from their very terrible seasons were Justin Fields either running over people or around people.

1:19:49Pat McAfee:I mean, he is a talent.

1:19:49Adam Schefter:Dan O 'Poon be MVP.

1:19:50Pat McAfee:Yeah, I think Dano had to make some decisions because of some potential narratives that were building about the way he felt about people, you know. And that is certainly something that I think Dano was doing in that particular moment there, you know, because he gave some takes and everything. He's like, this guy seemingly, he's like, MVP actually. Ohio State quarterback? Yeah, exactly. That's exactly what it was at the time. It got hot in the kitchen for Dano. I mean, and he did it on our show. So it's one of those things, whenever... what people say on these microphones don't necessarily reflect the opinions of their peers their boss or currently at the moment the company is licensing the show espn with that being said what people say to microphones on this particular show certainly goes hey controversial guess jeopardy shout out dano certainly threw himself into a fire or two on our particular show so i got to see his mentions i got to ride in his mentions for a little bit they are not spectacular, but he did have hope for Justin Fields.

1:20:49Pat McAfee:I think we all did because of how athletic he is. He's so athletic. He's so athletic. He's so athletic. I think accuracy is a thing. I don't know if it's necessarily easy. Being a quarterback is not necessarily an easy job. And for a while, it was like, oh, the Bears organization just didn't do him any favors at all. And then last year, it wasn't terrible. It wasn't great either. And then this year, but no, I think the Jets are probably going to have a Mendoza or a Moore or a Simpson at quarterback. Mendoza will be joining us today in about 20 minutes or so. Joining us right now, ladies and gentlemen, is the voice of college football, the face of Thursday Night Football on Prime alongside Al Michaels.

1:21:24Pat McAfee:Ladies and gentlemen, the man who almost predicted a football game exactly this past weekend at Oregon and Iowa, Kirk Herbstreit. Yay, Herbie! How you doing, Herbie? We're talking about the Jets there a little bit with Justin Fields. Obviously, they move on from Quentin and Sauce, and everybody's starting to think they're quitting and mailing it in. They get a huge win with special teams and defense, and obviously Brees Hall able to do his thing. What are your thoughts on the Jets' moves and Justin Fields as a quarterback and also Dayball fired as the New York Giants head coach earlier today? Just kind of New York state of mind from Kirk Herbstreet, if you will.

1:22:01AJ Hawk:Well, I think, first of all, anytime you need a pick-me-up, you go into that AFC North, you get the Bengals-Browns back-to-back, you got a really good shot of kind of getting your swagger back. So you can thank me later for that. I mean, how the Bengals lost that game to the Jets two weeks ago is, I think everybody's still scratching their head. But to their credit, they use that. Special teams, sometimes you just got to find ways to win games, and that's what they were able to do. I heard you guys kind of having some fun with the fact that Brees Hall took that screen and took it to the house.

1:22:33AJ Hawk:It was not a great day for the offense, but totality, it's a team that I think is dying to get some wins. and especially after the trade deadline, so many rumors about Brees Hall. You mentioned McDonald. And now they have what they have, and it's go time. And I just love to see a team still fighting, right? I mean, they're still scratching. They're still trying to find ways to win games. Brees Hall gives them, I think, a playmaker, a dynamic playmaker. But the reality is with Justin Fields and his offense, I mean, how about the owner comes out three or four weeks ago and just says, if we can just complete a pass, if we can just complete a pass, that would really help the cause.

1:23:11AJ Hawk:And for him to have to block that out in the middle of the year and still go out and wear that uniform and that jersey and still go out and compete, he's handled that with great class. I'll tell you what he said. I'm not going to complete a pass, actually. How about that? I'm joking. I'm joking. I'm joking. But the owner is saying it is crazy.

1:23:31Pat McAfee:The owner is saying it is absolutely crazy. And the mental toughness, which I think we all like about Justin Fields, we like his leadership. We like his mental toughness. I love how committed he is to his body, how committed he is to his sport. I just think on the field it really hasn't worked out. What's your stat? To the point of all this, teams coming into this since 1950 when holding opponents to 175 yards or less and not turning the ball over where 225 and 0 is now 225 and 1. Shout out to the bronze. Shout out to the bronze. And then let's talk about Dayball over there in New York. Obviously, they have the quarterback carousel this offseason where they're trying to find out who is going to be the guy that's going to be taking snaps for them after they move on from Danny Dimes.

1:24:13Pat McAfee:Danny Dimes is now an MVP. He looks like Wilson right now having an improvement. Danny Dimes is obviously in the MVP conversation alongside Jonathan Taylor. We're going to win the Super Bowl. Saquon Barkley won a Super Bowl with Philadelphia Eagles. Everybody leaves that place and has great success. Now Dayball is the next one kind of getting booted. What is this an indicator of in your eyes, and what are your thoughts on the state of the Giants right now?

1:24:39AJ Hawk:Well, I mean, you went through that, and I think a lot of people thought when they let go of Saquon and they didn't come up with answers that following year that Dayball would maybe be let go. They stuck with him, and, you know, he made it pretty clear. We actually had Patriots-Giants preseason, and Dayball made it very clear to me that Jackson Dart is going to be special. You know, he said, I got Russ right now, but, man, I really love this rookie and what he can do, And obviously, eventually, we saw him get that opportunity. This is another franchise that just figures out ways to lose games.

1:25:12AJ Hawk:You know, like they just don't know how yet how to win football games and play complementary football. They play well enough. You go back and look at, I don't know, four or five of their losses. They played well enough to win these games, and they just can't close them out. And I think that whoever inherits this job is going to inherit a team that has a lot of potential. I mean, when you put Scadaboo and Malik Nabors and Jackson Dart all together, all healthy, there's a lot, I think, to work with, not to mention what they have on a defensive front. So whoever's going to get this job down the road, it's not like you're starting from square one and how do we get this thing going in the right direction?

1:25:52AJ Hawk:I think the vision of what they had there is there. I think you can see it. I just think that this team at times seems to almost be jinxed. They just cannot close out games and games that they played well enough to win, that they're sitting there scratching their head thinking, how the hell do we get ourselves in this predicament? So I think it's, I love Dave. Dave's a great guy. He'll land on his feet somewhere, but whoever gets this job to me is going to have a hell of a nucleus to work with moving forward.

1:26:20Pat McAfee:Yeah. I love, we all love Scadaboo. Obviously Jackson Dart needs to take care of himself going forward. We hope he's able to do that. And obviously the New York market is a beautiful one if you're able to win. Will anybody ever again is kind of the question. Bruce, you haven't really got your thoughts on Dayball exit in town. New York Giants fan, Bruce Brown. There had to be accountability. Brian Dayball's 20-40 and one record is the worst of any coach in Giants history. Shout out to Hembo. McAdoo? That's worse than McAdoo? Worse than Schirmer? McAdoo was good before he got that haircut. What, he had the bad haircut he was a good coach you know he's western pennsylvania guy too so i didn't love everything he was doing with his hair and all that stuff and the way you guys in new york were talking about him i didn't necessarily love because how similar our names were and how we grew up in the same waters and everything like that but i thought he would have definitely been the worst but no that's not the case i guess hembo says geez louise part of it is you know 2022 he won coach of the year we won a playoff game and that kind of extended his leash to get to the 61 games to be able to lose lose 40 of them.

1:27:25I mean, it sucks. I agree. I think Brian Dayball is probably a good football coach, you know, coached under Nick Saban and Bill Belichick. And, you know, seems like he's a pretty good football mind, but losing is the disease that infected the Giants organization. And, you know, kind of reared its head worse this year than ever before, where you're blowing three 10 point leads on on the road. But, you know, it's also not on all on Brian Dayball, Like Joe Shane built the secondary that has turned into the worst in the NFL this year. Missed on a ton of draft picks, both on defense and in the trenches with the O-line.

1:28:03So hopefully there's more accountability. Shane Bowen probably doesn't deserve to be defensive coordinator. And I don't know if Joe Shane deserves to be a GM looking for a head coach.

1:28:13Pat McAfee:Jeez, Giants fans, certainly going through it. Second half losses, especially whenever you have the lead, just take everything out of you. Okay, let's pivot away from the bad news in New York, and let's go to some good news maybe in Cincinnati, your hometown. Joe Burrows, back at practice. Wow.

1:28:30Adam Schefter:Great news.

1:28:31Pat McAfee:That's breaking news as of today. Your thoughts on that as a Bengals fan? I know you just buried them with saying, hey, you want to get on track? You want to get a little good aura? Go to Ohio. Take on the Bengals and the Browns. Well, now, Joey B back on the practice field. What does this mean for you, Herbstreet?

1:28:45AJ Hawk:I really wondered all along with this injury, if the Bengals stayed within striking distance, which is debatable, what does that mean? Would he come back? Would he sit out the rest of the year to try to get 100 % healthy? You guys know about Turf, though. He had the most severe case of that with the surgery. You just wonder, it's great to see him back in the practice field. Is he coming back and easing his way back in? Is this another three or four weeks away? I have no idea. I have no idea what the case is, but I just love to see. This guy is as competitive as anybody you're ever going to meet, and I'm sure he's dying to get back on the field with his guys.

1:29:24AJ Hawk:But I wondered, I mean, that division has been upside down all year with the injuries. Clearly still appears to be the Ravens' division to win. Sorry about that, Tone. I'll give it back. But I'd love to see him back, but I don't know if I'd be in a hurry if I were him with the offensive line play.

1:29:42Pat McAfee:At what cost? Now, granted, they spent money on everything, and he's a massive piece of that offensively. Are they constructed to win ever, and do we just have them not risk it next year, too, when they start to seize it? You know, just... I think that's fair. Maybe forever if we don't get them protected.

1:29:58AJ Hawk:Until you invest in an offensive line. They've tried. And that's been the case since he... They have tried. But the guys that they've tried with, they've hit a couple, but... It's tough.

1:30:12Pat McAfee:Bengals fan right here just going through it in real time. They've tried to bring in new offensive linemen. They've tried, Herbie. Yeah, they certainly have. And guess what? Hasn't worked. Joe Burrow, he's back to practice.

1:30:25AJ Hawk:Why ask AJ? I mean, Teddy Karras was a hit at center. I love Teddy. Free agent. Teddy Karras is a hit. But that's one hit and a lot of misses up front.

1:30:37Adam Schefter:Has Flacco been beat up? It's impossible. And then they let him go.

1:30:42Pat McAfee:Oh, I think that went out bad if you listen to the end of that. Even though, hey, he was ruler of the jungle the other night. That's right. And they did win the night he was ruler of the jungle. Good to see Big Witt back in Cincinnati. Hopefully, they're in good shape.

1:30:54AJ Hawk:Witt would start if he came back. He would be a starter. On a lot of teams.

1:30:57Pat McAfee:Maybe tight ends. On a lot of teams, but definitely in Cincinnati. Well, he's a tight end now.

1:31:01AJ Hawk:He's like 245, 250.

1:31:03Pat McAfee:I think maybe quarterback. I don't know if he has it here with Joe Burrow's time. We have some scoopage, though, here from Jason Glazer. Yeah, scoopage. Last week, Joe Burrow told me he's returning way sooner than was expected and gave me the timeline of by Thanksgiving. Now we'll start practicing on a limited basis. Absolutely unreal attack of rehab, which he did with me, and response. At first, medical people didn't believe he'd be back before playoffs. Huge jump for him. He's a fucking G. Shout out to Jake Laser getting a little scoopage there. Herbie, obviously, that's real-time baseball we're doing.

1:31:38AJ Hawk:Hey, we had a bandwidth that I was going to text. We had the term bandwidth from Ty could have used that with Pete Thamel this morning when he was talking. As soon as he said, well, my bandwidth, I was like, God, I got to hit Pat.

1:31:53Pat McAfee:Hey, if you would have seen the conversations I was having this morning, brother. I mean, tomorrow's show is about to be pretty legendary.

1:31:59AJ Hawk:Oh, you guys are going to Parris Island tomorrow, right?

1:32:01Pat McAfee:Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yes, sir.

1:32:02AJ Hawk:Oh, my God.

1:32:03Pat McAfee:Hey, it's about to be something. Not as, hey, listen, I don't know if we fully recognize how massive tomorrow is until we're there. Because I've had a chance to be there. When you're there, it's just like you know you're walking on like hallowed ground. Like you understand what's going on. And then it being Veterans Day and the people that are going to be coming, you know, a lot of appearances on the show tomorrow, pretty big names. And obviously you had this planned out a long time in advance. You know, I wasn't calling everybody this morning to try to, you know, hey, I think we got an incredible opportunity here.

1:32:34Pat McAfee:We'd love if you'd be able to help, and tomorrow will be absolutely crazy, as we say thanks to the veterans live from Parris Island. All right, Herbie, let's talk about what we need to talk about.

1:32:43AJ Hawk:You should ride in on the bus, you know what I mean? Can you do that? Yeah. Get yelled at right there when you step on the steps.

1:32:51Pat McAfee:To the yellow footprints there right at the beginning. We'll do a special on this entire. We will definitely inform people what it's like. 38, I don't know if I— I ain't signing up to play Marine. I don't think you should. That's what I'm saying. We didn't sign that line. And that's why we're going to say thank you. We're going to say thank you to those who did. But on that note, I have done the... I've done it. I've actually done it this past summer. Yeah, I don't know if I would have been the one, man. 18? Yeah, right. You got some bad...

1:33:24AJ Hawk:Gumpy would have done it. What's the... Gump would have done that. The Canadian equivalent? I thought he was a Canadian Marine. I thought he was a Canadian Navy SEAL.

1:33:34Pat McAfee:I don't know if they have Canadian Marines. They have the mountains. I don't think they have Marines. I mean, we need to make sure we have some respect here for what the Marines are. Happy birthday to them, by the way. Ooh, raw. Ooh, raw. Ooh, raw. Happy birthday. All right, let's talk a little bit about what you did this past weekend. You know, on our show last Thursday, you did something. You called a sneaky win out publicly. Therefore, if you make a spotlight moment of something sneaky, guess what isn't sneaking anymore? The sneaky thing. so you awoke a potential giant in a massive way whenever you said iowa gonna beat oregon this weekend oregon heard it immediately upon you saying it they ran it not only then to the team the entire weekend they were on hey everybody thinks we're not going to show up everybody thinks we're not going to show up then we get the game day down texas tech lubbock what a crowd

1:34:21AJ Hawk:what a place what a time unbelievable unbelievable we get i'm a huge fan yeah me too i think i'm

1:34:27Pat McAfee:happy that they're going to be good for the long haul because i think every time we go there in

1:34:30AJ Hawk:the future we need to go there every year bingo i think it's going to be awesome every single year

1:34:35Pat McAfee:down there they took care of that food evie may's best food we've got unbelievable everything about

1:34:40AJ Hawk:it was awesome the set the crowd the food the vibe everything was nicest night if you're looking for the nicest human beings we found them in west texas yes as an entire group they were amazing the tortilla tosses to her i mean it's all awesome that guy catches house i think he's

1:34:58Pat McAfee:strength coach. I think he's one of the strength coaches. I don't know what sport, but I think he's a strength coach, I think, from what I'm learning. But we finally get to the picks. Patrick Mahomes is there, obviously. Massive fan. Thank you to him for coming through and also giving back to the sport as much as he does down there at Texas Tech. Cody Campbell and the Double Eagle boys up there. Everything they're doing there is spectacular. First class. But we got to the Iowa-Organ game and I didn't know what you were going to do. Honestly, I looked over and I had no idea what you were going to do.

1:35:26Pat McAfee:Are you going to just say, you know what I ruined this I'm sorry Iowa it got too loud I'm going with Oregon you doubled down you do you said double down you said I'm doubling down I think Iowa wins this game this is a game

1:35:38AJ Hawk:that Oregon is going to and I gave you the specific it's a November dark rainy you don't know what's going on the team that's there has no idea what hit them Kinnick gets over top of them 16-15, one of those ugly Iowa scores. You have no idea how we got to 16-15, but that's where we're going to be. That's the final score. That's how Iowa's going to win.

1:36:01Pat McAfee:So you were calling a game while this was happening, and I was texting you. I'm like, yo, it's 2-0 right now in this game. That was perfect.

1:36:08AJ Hawk:2-0, we're off to a great start.

1:36:10Pat McAfee:You're like, you have no idea how we're going to get to this score. Like, 2-0 being the start of that thing is like hilarious. It's like, hey, Herbie, 2-0 right now. And then you were calling another game. all of a sudden it gets to the point. It's like, hey, Herb, everything you have said is coming to fruition right now, legitimately.

1:36:26AJ Hawk:How about this quarterback draw? And I'm like, oh, my God, they're going to go for two if they score this, and they're going to miss it, and it's going to be 16-15. I was like, touchdown. Now we've got to miss the two-pointer. Miss the two-pointer is all we need. Yeah, well, Herb, I want to let you know,

1:36:43Pat McAfee:you've been around college ball for a long time, okay? But I don't think you're supposed to just know exactly how a game is supposed to end. And honestly, you even knew it when you were saying it, that you might be saying everything, how this game is going to end, but it's going to go the other way because of how it went. What a ball by Dante. What a ball by Dante Moore right there. But it went the other way strictly because of what you did on Thursday. Strictly. You're giving me? Yes. You're giving this to me? No, I'm not giving it to you. I'm saying it's 100 % your fault. You need to be taking this.

1:37:15That's what I'm saying.

1:37:15AJ Hawk:You're giving me the blame? Yes. I gave the blueprint. I gave the whole thing. Yep, your fault. It's just the last minute, last second field goal. I can't account for that. Ty, how do the Iowans feel about what Herbstreet did? First on Thursday saying, hey, Dan Lanning. Dude, if it would have been 40 to 6, I would have eaten it. I would have said that's 100 % on me. Okay. But it's 16 to freaking 50. Yeah. It's exactly what I said. Yeah, go ahead, Ty. Let's hear from Iowa, please. Let's hear from Iowa, please. I would imagine that a lot of people in the state are still pretty pissed at Herbie because after Thursday, because it was pretty quiet.

1:38:03I think a lot of Iowa fans going in were very, very confident coming off the bye week and how they looked against Minnesota. And it's like, okay, we're kind of starting to get things going here. I think we might actually beat Oregon. Then you say it, and it kind of magnifies things, but that's whatever. But I told Pat, I would have hated you for the rest of my life if you would have picked Oregon on Saturday. It would have been the most chicken shit thing of all time.

1:38:27AJ Hawk:Yeah, I didn't hesitate. Exactly. I was not giving up on Iowa. So you picked the Hawks, and you know what? Yeah, unfortunately, it just didn't go their way. A couple – I mean, Caden Weachin fumbles in the red zone. You know, like Iowa realistically probably should have won that game by a touchdown. just, you know, the safety. I mean, they couldn't punt early in the game, which is obviously very atypical for Iowa. So it was just, you know, I mean, hey, hats off to you, Herbie. I think Iowa fans knew too that your prediction for the game was pretty spot on, and it was going to have to be like that if they were going to win.

1:39:02Herbie knows ball. Saw a lot of people saying Herbie knows ball. Yes. Maybe a little too good.

1:39:06AJ Hawk:I mean, I just, I think we all expected it to be, I was being a smartass when I said 16-15 because Iowa games, they always get into that. When they pull off these upsets, it's just, how did we get to this number? And so I just threw out a 16-15. And damn it, if we weren't sitting on 16-15 there at the end, I would have officially retired if Oregon would not have come back. I would have been like, I'm done. 16-15. No. Iowa knocks off Oregon.

1:39:34Pat McAfee:You should have at least taken a victory lap on Saturday. You know, you should have done at least.

1:39:38AJ Hawk:Victory lap and then done.

1:39:40Pat McAfee:Yeah, show the highlight, please. What I say, what I say, what I say, what I say, what I say. And what happened in the game? What happened in the game? Thank you. My name's Kirk Herbstreit. It's been a blast. Goodbye. Pittsburgh would have went crazy for you for your contributions.

1:39:53AJ Hawk:By the way, how about game day going to Pittsburgh? Come on. Come on. Not bad. We didn't make it to Morgantown, but we're going to make it to Pittsburgh.

1:40:02Pat McAfee:I saw some WVU people coming after me, obviously, for this tweet. Oh, you're good at this, but you won't go to the backyard brawl. We lost to Ohio the week before.

1:40:10AJ Hawk:Right. Okay? Yeah. We lost to Ohio. You can't lose in Athens. It's a good football team. It's a good football team. You can't lose in Athens, Ohio and host game day the next week.

1:40:19Pat McAfee:Now, on that note, Pittsburgh has not had a Saturday college game day, like a full college game day in 20 years. It was – when was it? 20 years, I think, is what they said.

1:40:30AJ Hawk:Yeah, yeah. I remember. We were all along – right by the river outside of the stadium.

1:40:35Pat McAfee:I think we're doing the same spot. I think it's the same area. I think we have river shot, I think. Is it or no? I don't know.

1:40:42AJ Hawk:I don't know. Isn't there a big park over there on the other side of the river? Isn't there a big famous park over there? Boyce Park? Yeah, Boyce Park where you play.

1:40:49Pat McAfee:Boyce Park's in Plumborough where the ballers ball and the players play. It's not downtown. We're in the North Shore right here. I think from what I saw, we might be along a river. I don't know. Do you know there's a full AstroTurf field outside of the stadium now because of the draft, I believe. So you might be able to use that for the contest. We think the Pittsburgh kid makes the kick or not. You should probably stop doing it. Every week they make it. John was big. Some booby traps out there. We needed John. Well, Kirk tried to bring out some blockers, but we had high school kids holding it five feet in front of these guys.

1:41:20This guy. Deflate the ball. What a kick. Second one.

1:41:23AJ Hawk:I'll tell you what. Pat, you teach me this, but any time I see a guy slip off his sneakers and go barefoot, this guy knows what he's doing.

1:41:31Pat McAfee:See, I don't fully understand it, actually. And I think it's more because the plant foot will slip, maybe, some of these, because it's like turf. But I don't know why you wouldn't think that a sock would slip, too. I don't fully comprehend it. I don't know. Vandy was the first time it happened where I was like, okay, this is possible. If someone takes off their shoes, I shouldn't immediately think they're the stupidest person of all time for just kicking the ball without a shoe on. This guy had like a Hoka-looking shoe on, a little big base on the bottom of it. The story – hey, we're learning that in real time, though, Herbie.

1:42:00Pat McAfee:I don't think people fully understand that. We're learning in real time that this guy missed a kick his junior year of high school. How about that? Yeah. Like in real time, I'm like, oh, my God, what a nightmare.

1:42:10AJ Hawk:In that state? Yes.

1:42:11Pat McAfee:That's like. What a nightmare for that kid.

1:42:14AJ Hawk:Death threats.

1:42:15Pat McAfee:Yeah. He got death threats. He needed to make that first one, bro. That first one. Him missing that first one. I'm like, golly. Got to do another one. Got to. This guy's going to think about this for the rest of his life. Yeah. The rest of his life. The rest of his life. He's going to get dunked on even more. Because now they know about the high school. So only the people at his high school knew. Now everybody knows about that. And also, this guy. This guy sucks. Can't do it. So he would. Yeah. How about the guy. Motivation.

1:42:39AJ Hawk:junior year misses the kick in the state championship senior year you're done you can kick off what do you say kick off an onside kick or something like that yeah yeah he was a weapon there he got the ball back a couple times yeah from my stats and understanding but the second

1:42:54Pat McAfee:one if you hear me i go yo kick through the ball it was clear what he did it was probably the exact same thing that happened in his extra point his junior year saw his quads tighten up literally as i'm watching him i see his body tighten up i'm like oh no not good and he kind of punches through thing goes to the left so i literally was trying my best to be like yo swing through the ball bro let's go a lot of people saying it was windy conditions out there it wasn't a little right to left little right to left there but the tortillas that were throwing i think everybody thought like the wind was taking those tortillas no those people were they were trying to hit that ball they were trying to hit that ball with those tortillas i mean that was the bigger obstacle was the tortillas imagine if a tortilla hits that ball oh that's going in john misses again oh no Oh, what a moment.

1:43:37Pat McAfee:Oh, look at that. Yeah, I'm happy for John. John, way to go, buddy. Proud of you, John. Proud of you, John. I think the Pittsburgh kid makes it. Okay, let's get back to some college ball talk, shall we? Go ahead, D-Butt.

1:43:47Adam Schefter:Yeah, Herbie, obviously we know how dialed in you are to both games, college football and pro football, so you're the perfect person to ask, who's QB1 right now in the NFL draft going into next year? I know there's a lot of names we expected coming into this season to be at the top of this board right here, But obviously it's Mendoza and Ty Simpson, probably Dante Moore, two of the draft eligible quarterbacks. Who's QB1 right now in your opinion?

1:44:16AJ Hawk:I don't know if he's draft eligible. I think Julian San and I think CJ Carr at Notre Dame.

1:44:26Pat McAfee:Okay, neither of those guys can get drafted. This is just like when you're like, hey, the guys that get a lot of money need to shut up.

1:44:33AJ Hawk:Dude, the guys that we had up on the board have all struggled. You know, like they just think of all the names at the beginning of the year. And none of those guys are still being talked about. You know, I really think that the Lenore Sellers, remember him? Beginning of the year. Everybody thought he was going to be the first pick overall. The Mendoza kid's been amazing. I mean, what he's doing at Indiana is incredible. How about the drive? Everybody's talking about that catch. How about the drive itself? He got sacked on the first play of that drive. Oh, yeah. And brought them back, you know, to be able to eventually get in position to win that game.

1:45:17AJ Hawk:That throw right there down the seam, incredible. That kind of reset them and got them believing. We're so focused on the catch, and we should be. That was the best catch maybe we've ever seen. I mean, we look at the footwork. But look at these three throws that he made to get him down inside there. And he does it every single week. Filthy. I don't know. Did anybody expect Mendoza to be this guy coming over from Cal? No. From Indiana?

1:45:44Pat McAfee:No. So Kid Conneda's little brother, obviously, last year, Rourke with Indiana, was the storyline because it's like, will Signetti be able to find another Rourke? I doubt it. And then bring in the kid from Cal and it's like, wait a minute. Kid from Cal had a lot of success last year. Kid from Cal has actually had some big games. So I don't think anybody was expecting Magic, but I think there wasn't as big of a falloff for Indiana from Indiana fans' thoughts after Rourke leaves. But nobody could have expected him to be the best player in college football or whatever the case is. And then Omar Cooper Jr.

1:46:13Pat McAfee:is an Indiana kid. He's from around here. This kid's from around here. So we're obviously incredibly happy for him. Insane catch. And also the ref in real time watching that ref. Look at that ref's form.

1:46:26AJ Hawk:That's incredible. Legit. Look at that. We're looking at it super slow. Look at him. He's got to get out of the way. And then he's, look at his head. I mean, he is staring down at that, and he makes the right call. We always rip on the officials. Give this guy some credit. He is right in position to be able to make that call. And we're seeing it. Now we're seeing it a little faster. Here you go. Look at that. Just outstanding. But I guess to answer your question, I would say Ty Simpson. He's not sexy. He's not going to go to the combine. He's not going to go, look at this guy. But he seems to be a guy that has an ability to read, recognize coverage, process, ball out.

1:47:07AJ Hawk:He can move around just enough to be able to be dangerous, to be able to keep plays alive. But we don't have that huge 6 '4", 240-pound guy that everybody's going to say, wow, I can't wait to watch what this – now, these guys are probably – they're going to go and people are going to be enamored like they were with Anthony Richardson and others, you know, when they see these guys that are big and strong and can spin it. But as far as seeing the field, processing – what are you doing? Processing. That's a good question. That is a good question. What are we doing? Okay, there's no reason to do what you just did right there.

1:47:41None. Okay, there's none on that note. Now, to echo your point, though – What are you talking about? I love Ty Simpson.

1:47:48Pat McAfee:Yeah. Great. I like his mom. Love him. Did you see him dap up former teammates too? The boys love him. Oh, my God.

1:47:53AJ Hawk:You see how the boys reacted when they saw him? Yes. Love him. They love that guy in the locker room.

1:47:58Pat McAfee:Mendoza, though, very similar. I think they view him as a nerd who's an absolute dog. I think that is kind of it. So I think they will be head and shoulders. I think whenever you start thinking about, you know, off the field stuff in the locker room and in film and everything like that, I think they are going to rise to the top. But to your point, we had no idea that those guys were going to be guys. Another guy that I don't think a lot of people maybe knew if he was going to be a guy, especially after his first season. Now he's leading the MVP odds. Go ahead, AJ. Yeah, Kirk, obviously Pat's talking about Drake May and what the New England Patriots are able to do.

1:48:28They beat the Bucs yesterday. They're 8-2. I guess, are you surprised at how quickly Drake May has evolved into an elite quarterback? I mean, MVP odds. You see him right here. And are you surprised at all at how fast, I guess, Braves has been able to instill that culture and turn them into a very, you know, viable team to make a run at the Super Bowl.

1:48:46AJ Hawk:Obviously, AJ, you know, Braves, and we all love him and think so highly of him as, you know, what it was initially as an assistant, a coordinator, and he goes to the Titans and has him on the brink of getting into a Super Bowl. And then last year, he's in Cleveland, just like, you know, just kind of buying his time and hanging out. Eventually, you knew he'd get back in the mix. I don't think, Connor, even you, as much as you're a diehard, blinded New England Patriots fan, I don't think anybody expected the culture to change this quickly. Nobody could have expected this. It's easy to say, yeah, oh yeah, I saw it all along.

1:49:22AJ Hawk:I mean, Drake May, if you saw him in college, he's another college quarterback that's outstanding, but we see a lot of college quarterbacks that are outstanding that just don't see the field in the NFL and don't make these many plays this early in their career. So I think Josh McDaniels deserves a ton of credit for the system that he's been able to build, the way they've been able to build this team from the ground up as far as confidence. They didn't try to do too much too fast. I had him again. I mentioned the game with Dable. They played the Patriots. I had a chance to visit with Josh in late August when they were getting ready to go into the season.

1:49:58AJ Hawk:And he was incredibly confident with what Drake May was doing, the communication, the understanding. You can see the relationship that they've built. This Drake May has a super, super unassuming team guy first. Doesn't want any of the accolades. Will deflect all the attention onto his team. So he's got the wiring that it takes. But to see this guy execute, what is he, 19-5, I think, right now in the year. 19 touchdowns, only five picks. So he's playing smart. But I think it's more of the totality of what the Patriots have become with Mike Vrabel. and it's not just, wow, look at the schedule. It's been favorable.

1:50:36AJ Hawk:No, I mean, it's a mix of veterans with rookies with a quarterback that's making great decisions, and here they are sitting at the top.

1:50:44Pat McAfee:A couple more things just to kind of add to your point about this Patriots team. So many different moments throughout that game yesterday as we're watching where Vrabel is coaching in between plays to guys that are on the field. Like there was a time, I think it was 5-16 left, Drake may, they're up five, rolls to the right, throws the ball out of bounds when they're down in red zone and you knew that drake may probably immediately was like ah there's no reason for me to throw that out of bounds and stop the clock right here we could keep this thing alive it starts getting like frustrated with himself and literally they shoot over to vrabes vrabes is talking to him like yo yo yo we're good then there was a report at the sidelines like hey vrabe was over telling the defense hey nothing else matters except for right now it's like he's hands-on with every single play and then travion henderson obviously we see the moment where he breaks free and he looks over the sideline like Should I go down or should I score?

1:51:29Pat McAfee:And they're probably all like, yo, go ahead and score that thing, dude. Score that thing. So, like.

1:51:34AJ Hawk:He's a freak.

1:51:34Pat McAfee:When you talk about buy-in, yeah. When you talk about buy-in, I think the perfect depiction of it is Stephon Diggs on the hands team. Stephon Diggs on the hands team, okay? And everybody's talking about, yeah, he should do this. It's like, yeah, right, dude. Knowing that he's going to get blasted in the face right there. That is the only outcome that Stephon Diggs is going to have right there.

1:51:53Adam Schefter:Worst ball.

1:51:53Pat McAfee:And they're like, hey, he needs to do what. this is what number one wide receivers always do. It's like, no, they don't. Number one wide receivers are not being sent out there to potentially get shot right in the jaw or right into the chest. Go ahead.

1:52:05AJ Hawk:By the way, look at how they're schooled there. Everybody goes in to make a block. The whole thing, instead of like five guys going up to grab the ball, you got a very, very well schooled. These guys are trying to make blocks. We know that eight's going to go ahead and make, he's got the ball. We know he's going to catch it. And everybody doing the best they can to try to avoid what ended up happening because they just had a couple too many. They couldn't block them all. And he still is able to hold on to it. I think you bring up a good point. I think he has a very hungry team, whether it's the blend of rookies and younger players with some bets, but they all are listening to Vrabel.

1:52:39AJ Hawk:So Vrabel's over there coaching in between series. And instead of them being like, get out of here with that, they're just like, yep, they're dialed in listening to what he's saying. So it helps winning, right? I mean, it's easy to become that guy when you're winning. and right now he's got a team that's all in.

1:52:56Pat McAfee:Yeah, I think all in. Stephon Diggs said earlier in the year, I can't believe he got me to buy in. And it's like, it's a Vrabel effect that he has seemingly in every building that he has. I mean, it was happening at the American Century Classic whenever he walked into the tent. He walks in, everybody's just like, what the hell is this? He's doing that. He's a great leader. He's an alpha in every sense of the form, but it seems like his empathy for these young guys, like not to beat yourself up too much, is what's showcasing the most. The Patriots are a problem. Drake Mays, the odds-on favorite for the MVP.

1:53:24Pat McAfee:And the Colts are going to win the Super Bowl. We'll be back tomorrow live from Parris Island. Goodbye. All right, that was a pretty good send-off. Hell yeah. That was great. We're still live. We're still live, Herbie. You know we're still live. We're still live. Just someone that won't get enough love, and I'm actually, hopefully he doesn't, just so he doesn't get any sort of opportunities outside of being the offensive line coach for the Patriots. Doug Marone came in, and their left side of the line, Will Campbell and Jared Wilson, both rookies. Jared Wilson, I believe, played center at Georgia last year.

1:53:54I think he was our third-round pick. Will Campbell, obviously, number four overall. That toss left to end the game, the Trevion touchdown. I mean, that's right behind Will Campbell. And we got a defensive lineman, Tonga, playing fullback, who played eight snaps at fullback, actually. And look at that block. Yeah, three guys. The amount of guys on the ground. And there goes Vita Vea. But the other run, that was a 55-yard touchdown. that was Jared Wilson basically one-on-one rookie on Vita Vea. So it's one of those things where I don't know what's in the water or what Doug Marone is feeding the offensive line, but they're playing their fucking ass off.

1:54:30And that's why you get chills just thinking about how good these young dudes are.

1:54:35Pat McAfee:Still so – and on that note, still so – I mean, Christian Gonzalez is unbelievable, and he's starting to have his own little island starting to happen there in this entire season. But they're up and to the right, but they're still so early. But there's still so much for Drake, for Vrabel's culture. I mean, another offseason drafting your guys. I mean, there's just so much for these Patriots fans.

1:54:56Adam Schefter:Yeah, B.A. always talks about having the rookies ready. If they're ready by November, by Thanksgiving, you're in a good spot. Travion Henderson, he looks like he's coming along. Kyle Williams, he had a big-time play. And a great sign of your team going in the right direction. I hate this for vets sometimes, but when Vrabel came in and they moved on from Kyle Duggar, who had a huge contract, and they moved on from Peppers, who was a solidified vet. That lets you know how these young guys were playing, how they were building. You go and get Carlton Davis, who's another number one corner. Christian Gonzalez is unbelievable.

1:55:26Adam Schefter:And they came into this game without allowing one rusher that they faced to reach 50 yards. Like, that's crazy at the halfway point in the season. So they are in tandem right now in defense. And obviously we know the offense is making plays, and they're explosive. All right, Herbie, last question for the NFL here from Green Bay Packers owner Ty Schmidt. Yeah, Herbie, how do you see this game going tonight? Obviously, you had the Packers your first week of the regular season for Thursday Night Football, and they looked unbelievable, looked like a different team then. And I believe you had the Eagles when they got beat by the Giants.

1:55:57They obviously look a little bit different now as well. What do you expect out of this one tonight?

1:56:03AJ Hawk:Yeah, you're right. When I had Green Bay, as you all know, it's such a long grind of a season, and guys get hurt and teams become a little bit different. Eagles have changed their season around from where they were. I mean, I think offensively, they were really struggling when we had them. They were just starting to kind of find some things, find some answers. I think the Minnesota game obviously changed the complexion maybe of their season, and then they followed up with a big win over the Giants. So I think their offense is in a much better place. I think they were arguing with each other. They really couldn't find answers for Saquon in the running game.

1:56:40AJ Hawk:They were just trying to find ways to get him in space. and I think now you're starting to see a little bit more balance, putting Jalen in more favorable positions to be able to throw the football. So that's a tough one, man. That is a great game. It's a Green Bay, right, tonight? Yep. Oh, yeah, Lambo. Great matchup, and it'd be fun to watch Micah chase Jalen around. I think it'll be a – this has got that fourth quarter, last second kind of feel. Who's going to get the ball late? I don't know what the spread is, but it feels like it's going to be a tight, tight game throughout the entire game and give Green Bay a nod.

1:57:15AJ Hawk:Cause they're playing at home at night.

1:57:16Pat McAfee:One and a half is the spread. Green Bay is favored by and Schefter came on earlier and said, it's a tush push game. Green Bay Packers wanted to ban the tush push. Michael Parsons said it was a stupid play. Philadelphia Eagles, Sirianni. They heard that. They heard that. So look for some tush push. Oh, we love that. Yes. Oh, we love that. Yeah. At 28 degrees and snow at Lambeau on Monday Night Football in November on the Marines' 250th birthday here, November 10th, 2025. This is perfect. This is the football god saying, congratulations, we're halfway through this. Tonight, you get a chance to watch the Super Bowl champs take on the traditional historic powerhouses of the NFL in a movie-like setting.

1:58:00Something that Steve Sable would draw up to launch NFL films. Where the legends would step foot on the same exact land that is holding the snow tonight. That could be this evening for the Packers. Yes, it could. Eagles could win by 50? No, I don't think so.

1:58:18Pat McAfee:Okay. 50? Okay, you knew what I was saying.

1:58:23AJ Hawk:Ty, you got Pack winning on a last-second field goal with me? The way Brandon McManus is kicking right now? No, I don't. I think it's either Packers win a close one or, yes, they get beat by 17 or something like that. multiple scores. No way. This is the go Paco game. This is where it is. They play to the level of their opponents. They played like shit against Carolina last week. They'll look great this week, and I don't know who. They play probably the Saints next week, and they might get beaten next week.

1:58:50Pat McAfee:All right, Packers minus one and a half. Packers minus one and a half. I'd go Packers six and a half. Jalen Hurts in that weather. Give me a fucking break. Sounds like Herbie's Packers minus one and a half. That's a Philly. Oh, no. He's got no connection. He's unstable. Uh-oh. Maybe it's a snow. Here I am. You got Packers minus one and a half.

1:59:08AJ Hawk:I got Packers. No question. Last second. They're going to win it late. Last second field goal.

1:59:13Pat McAfee:AJ Packers minus one and a half. Absolutely. Okay. I'd like to let you know. Currently AJ you and I are sitting one pick away from each other for the weekend. You're five, seven, one. I'm six, six, and one on the weekend. Okay. Obviously I flopped a little bit. You flopped a little bit on a few. It's not easy at this stage of the game because ass teams aren't ass all the time. It's what we're learning. Yep. And obviously, Colts win the game in Germany. I'm happy. Don't cover. Kick the field goal. What the hell? Can we kick the extra point, please, then? Yeah. We start doing everything. Yeah. Yeah.

1:59:43Pat McAfee:We need to be a little bit closer. So, AJ, you're on the Packers. I'll give you a chance to tie this thing up. I guess I'll take the Eagles. All right. I guess. All right. I guess I'll take the Eagles plus one a half.

1:59:52Adam Schefter:D-Butt, who are you got? You know, last two times these two teams faced off and came out to the red zone. Packers are 2-7 in the red zone, and that's where they will lose this game. They are used to Michael Parsons, this offense. Oh, my God. And I love Jalen Hurts. I don't care what the weather is. You look at him taking care of the ball, he's going to do that. The trades, Jalen Phillips, Michael Carter came over now, so we may see Coop on the outside a little more. Give me the Eagles with an alternate spread of minus 6.5. Okay, he likes it a little bit more. He said, let's put a little bit more meat on that bone for these dogs in Philadelphia.

2:00:26Pat McAfee:Sportsbook breakers are giving some stats here. Now, we have not double-checked this, but it looks good. Philadelphia is a small underdog tonight as the Eagles travel to face the Packers. The Eagles have been fantastic when the line is tight. Eagles are 8-0 overall, 8-0 against spread since October 2024, with a spread between negative three to plus three. Philly has won these games by 12.6 points per game. Uh-oh. That means nothing to me. Yeah, yeah. That means nothing to you. Have they played the Packers all eight of those games? Oh, no, they haven't? Okay, then who gives a fuck? Oh, you're Cignetti.

2:00:56You know, Indiana's never won here. This team's never played here. Next question. That was a great answer.

2:01:01AJ Hawk:He's a best. Great answer. He always has one. Hey, what are you concerned with? Nothing. It's time to attack. What are we talking about? Concerns for Thursday, Wednesday. Now we attack and play football. Thank you. Any more questions? Legend. Thank you, Shipley, FaceTiming me during that game. They're frauds. Zignetti. Zignetti comes out, runs his mouth before the game. I was like, he was answering questions. It's a minute before the game starts. Like, what do you want from the guy? Talking his shit. Can't even beat this. Sorry. Oh, AQ must have been wowed up. So I told him. I said, Mendoza's about to do it.

2:01:34Pat McAfee:Literally told him. I had a Kirk Herbstreit moment. I go, you think Mendoza's losing his game? Hang up on him. Literally mid-sentence. And then as Omar Cooper Jr. is coming down with that, and Jack Dasher, I believe is the ref's name, as he makes that call of a touchdown, I, watching the game, don't think it could be at all, but am taking it as well. Jack! As I am. Yes, exactly. Jack with a good call. I take that opportunity to call AQ back. He goes, that was a pretty good drive out of Mendoza. I'm like, yeah, Indiana is still surprising people, I think. I think Indiana is still surprising people.

2:02:07Pat McAfee:And then the number two team in the country. Big Ten has. Not me. I'm all in now. Big Ten has power at the top. Big Ten has some real power. I think they're very confident in it as a whole. But as we look at this college football, what a catch. What a catch. Omar Cooper.

2:02:22AJ Hawk:Did that right toe didn't tap in too, did it?

2:02:25Pat McAfee:No, I do not think so. No, he hovered it. A lot of people say that it did. They say it's good in the NFL. I think they're saying because his toe and then his heel hit. Both of it. Watch this right. Watch this right. I thought it was good. I don't think it touches. It wasn't even close to touching. Let's see. I don't know if it was. It was definitely close. Oh, boys. I thought he held his right foot because he knew it was going to be out. I don't think it ever touched. But people are saying it would have been good in the NFL. Is that because left toe and then left heel? Two different touches? Same foot, though, right?

2:02:54Adam Schefter:I think we all think two feet because I said good on Sunday, too. But that was the Garrett Wilson touchdown from last year in primetime that got called the touchdown.

2:03:03Pat McAfee:Was it his foot or was it his? Because I thought it was – no, I thought it was toe. Oh, he had shit in that one. Yeah, shit. I do wonder if the toe and the heel – because I saw everybody saying good on Sunday, and I was like, I don't know. Because it looks like, to your point, Herbie, I am in the camp that I thought it hovered, which was incredible that it didn't touch out of bounds. But there, I guess – I'm in the camp that it touched. His right – when was it? When he was touching back? Yeah, right before the left one. Okay, so let's go. Let's run that thing again.

2:03:29Adam Schefter:I thought he saw it. You think he took it? I think the right one took it. Right there? Where? Where? Let me run it back. Oh, no. Can we zoom in on this at all? No. We cannot zoom in in this. We need NBC it. Yeah, I think he just missed it. I don't think he does.

2:03:44Pat McAfee:So I thought it was incredible body control to keep that right foot up. Oh, my God.

2:03:49Adam Schefter:Wait, did the Penn State defender keep his right foot up? Yeah, that right foot up. Where he kicks his shin? Yeah, boom. Oh. Oh, no. Yeah, it didn't touch. You're right. I'm out. Bro, that right foot never touched.

2:04:05Pat McAfee:I saw a lot of people saying good on Sunday. I'm like, oh, it must be foot, foot. But I didn't even know that.

2:04:10Adam Schefter:This is the first time I'm NBCing it like this.

2:04:13Pat McAfee:Hey, it's right here, too. Pretty good. It's great. If that gets called a touchdown in the league, though, it might stand. Yeah, it might be tough to over. I don't know. I think it clearly doesn't touch.

2:04:23AJ Hawk:I think the other thing is the heel touched out of bounds. It's still a touchdown, right? Yes. Because of the toe. In college or? No. In college, if the toe touched and then the heel would have been out of bounds, I think it would have given him the touch with the toe.

2:04:40Pat McAfee:Really?

2:04:41AJ Hawk:That's exactly what I thought.

2:04:42Pat McAfee:All right, let's talk a little bit more about college ball. Indiana, we feel like, going to be in, even if they don't win the Big Ten. Yeah. Feel like they have done enough that people will say, this is one of the 12 best teams in the country.

2:04:53AJ Hawk:They're in no matter what happens. I think so, too.

2:04:56Pat McAfee:Group of five has to get in. And then Tone has a question for you about college ball, the sport we all love. Yeah, I do, Herbie. Obviously, preseason in the ACC, it was going to be Clemson, and after week one, and then for a few weeks, it was going to be Miami, and then they suffered a loss, and then it was going to be Georgia Tech, and then they lost, and it was going to be Virginia, and then they lost, and then Louisville, and then they lost. So now we are here. Could be them. But does anyone want to win the ACC first and foremost? And do we even have to let an ACC team in? Are we sure those are the rules?

2:05:25AJ Hawk:I guess those are the rules. You do. You do have to let an ACC team in. Yeah. The last two weeks for the ACC, every team that's ranked and up there is lost. They suck. So, you know, they're back. They're back to Pitt. Pitt becomes the team everybody's going to want to talk about. I mean, they have everything in front of them. If you look at the schedule, I mean, if they want to get in, it's right in front of them. Notre Dame, Georgia Tech on the road, and Miami. I mean, could it set up any better for Pitt? If you want to be the team that's going to say, hey, if nobody else wants to go, we'll go to Charlotte.

2:06:04AJ Hawk:We'll make a run. I mean, right now Georgia Tech should be the odds-on favorite, But I think Pitt, they look different with this quarterback playing for them. We'll see. We'll see if they can get by. Even if they lose to Notre Dame, they're still theoretically alive because they can get within their own conference and get to that conference championship game. Now, on the flip side, Notre Dame. Hey, Duke is the second. Notre Dame can't lose.

2:06:28Adam Schefter:Yes. Yeah, because they control the destiny. Who did that play last week? North Carolina? No. They lost to the New Colons. Oh, I thought you said last week. Yeah, it was Saturday. UConn got a huge one. Somebody had him as their Superdog. It was Herbie because of Gump. Yeah. Wow. Nick gave him some love, too. Coach Staden gave him some love. Good for the UConn. Hey, you took a bigger lead in Superdog?

2:06:51Pat McAfee:That's what I just heard.

2:06:51AJ Hawk:I'm going to give Gumpy, get a shot of Gumpy there in the control room. Gump, thanks, buddy. You steered me into that one. I'm going to talk to you again on this Friday in the production meeting, so get ready to come up with another one. Thank you, Gump. I had Iowa. I was going to go Iowa, and then I thought about Auburn and Vandy and then Gump said, no, no, no, no, no. You got to go UConn. I didn't say that. That's awesome. How about a little faith in UConn?

2:07:20Adam Schefter:Joe, how do you say his last name, Tom? Because it's one of those Italian last names. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I don't want to be wrong here.

2:07:28Pat McAfee:There's going to be a lot of Italian last names at this game.

2:07:31Adam Schefter:Well, he's balling. 25 touchdowns, no pick. Scholar Bell, he's top one or two in all the wide receiver categories. They're doing some things up there in stores. I'll tell you, Sanga Politelli with that winner over Louisville. In Louisville, going for let's go get this. Nope, not going for a field goal. Touchdown. Let's go for it. And over. That hit the over right there. The over was 49 and a half.

2:07:55Pat McAfee:Thank you, Sanga Politelli. Thank you, Overtime Games, to delivering for overs. But this guy, I mean, I understand Cal's got a lot of money. We love Cal. We love Cal. We love Cal. Sanga Politelli's market is going to be out-fucking-rageous this offseason, Kirk. And I think Pittsburgh's going to be on Saturday as well. A lot of Irish people in Pittsburgh, Kirk. A lot of Irish.

2:08:15AJ Hawk:Well, a lot of Italian, a lot of Irish. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. You grew up in an Italian neighborhood, didn't you? Yeah, all of that. A few Polacks. All Italians. All Italians in my neighborhood. And now, on that note, the Italians will be delivering, I think, this weekend. Grazie to all the paisanos that are... What's the best Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh? So there's a place called... Dude, watch your mouth. Watch your mouth. Just from what I've experienced.

2:08:43Pat McAfee:Serafino's is a place that's obviously being talked about in a big way. Bill Carr's favorite spot is Serafino's. Hell yeah. Nardaisi's favorite spot is Serafino's. My favorite spot is... I gotta go there. Girasoli's. It's down in Shadesai. Okay. What you're going to know, and you know this, just go ahead and take a walk around, and it'll be like, oh, here's an Italian joint there. What do you guys do? pizza, sandwiches, pasta. Got it. Okay, and then you're going to walk a little bit further. Oh, what's this? Dabba-dabba-dee-nee. Okay, what happens in here? We got pizza, sandwiches, and pasta. Okay, sick.

2:09:14Pat McAfee:That is so nice. And then you're going to turn a corner. Boom. Guess who's going to be there? Sop-a-dabba-do-ba-dee-nee. Bada-ba-ba-ba-boom. And it'll be the best that you ever ate. And then you'll see the Olive Garden and walk right in. Don't. Oh, you can eat breadsticks. There's no fazolas. Still got them? There's no. There's no olive. Yeah. Sorry. Not as good as Marion's.

2:09:37AJ Hawk:Not as good as Marion's. No, no. Don't be doing it. We know that, yeah. Marion's Bill's Donuts. Marion's Bill's right across the street from each other. It's Kirk, guys. Who? Yeah. Who? Tell them, Kirk. Middle Ohio, Kirk's big on that. Centerville, Ohio? That's the home of Rob Dardek, I do believe, right? Or Circleville? Kettering, yeah. He's Kettering. Rob Dabee? Yeah. Wow. Kettering. right next to Centerville

2:10:03Pat McAfee:the home of a bar that I had frequented because my holder in college is from Centerville, Ohio he's a proud Elk alumni as we are here with a couple proud Centerville Elks here I didn't know that, you're a holder? Jeremy Cash, legend he's still in Centerville right now I think he's still doing it I think he will be doing it until the day he dies the bar near the school with the low roof that bar? yes awesome bar Go by, go by. A lot of scratch-off, pulled tabs, you know, darks. Karaoke. Maybe smoking cigs. Sure. Great breakfast. Everything you could ask for. A lot of booze. It was right there, right there next to Circleville, or Kettering.

2:10:42Pat McAfee:Right there next to Kettering.

2:10:43AJ Hawk:Kettering.

2:10:44Pat McAfee:Circleville. Oh, man. I think I know the place you're talking about. No, Centerville. Yeah. Rob Dardick, the best. Who's making? Yeah. Oh, yeah. He made a lot of money, right? 46 seasons in 11 years. He was making 30 a year for ridiculousness. That's just that show, let alone all his other shoe cups, everything else. Rob Dardek right here. Yeah. You're talking about it. Respect. Head of the ball game, huh? One of the goats in this entire thing. And rest in peace to Big Black, obviously. Legend. Had a beer of 40 with him. Former Marine. Really? He had an incredible vibe. Yeah, he was awesome. Just joking.

2:11:20I don't think Big Black. Yeah, just joking.

2:11:21Pat McAfee:Who was the Miller Lite guy? Wendell. Wendell, rest in peace to Wendell. Had a few Miller Lites with him as well. Rest in peace to him. Yeah. I believe he was living in high life. He was here in Indianapolis a few different times. Had a great time. Big black, great time. He was great vibes. What a great show.

2:11:36AJ Hawk:Turns out if that heel would have gone out of bounds, it would have been incomplete. That's a good update. I wanted you to have that. Now it makes you appreciate it that much more. Did you text Terry McCauley? Watch. Watch the toe. I can't believe I thought that right. Yeah, yeah. But you didn't see it. You saw it on your phone.

2:11:59Pat McAfee:You saw it on your phone. Yeah, exactly. So the heel being in. Is huge.

2:12:04Adam Schefter:Yeah.

2:12:05Pat McAfee:If what? He lifts it up and falls out after the toe touch is still good as well.

2:12:10AJ Hawk:Yeah, if the heel touches out of bounds. But if right here he lifts off of his toe onto the ground and heel never touches. Heel's in bounds.

2:12:19Pat McAfee:Yeah. But I'm saying as his foot comes down. Yeah. Still touching. That's crazy. Omar Cooper Jr. Indianapolis, Indiana boy. Down there for the Hoosiers. Fernando Mendoza potentially going to be on the show today. He was not able to. That was 35 minutes. Yeah, he's got class, right? All right, Herbie. We're going to get out of here, I think, as a show as a whole, brother.

2:12:39AJ Hawk:All right, boys.

2:12:41Pat McAfee:Don't get him tonight, Pac. Good luck. Yeah, good luck to the Eagles as well for those of us that have the Philadelphia Eagles at plus one. But also, good luck to the NFL. Let's have a great primetime. Please. Let's have a great one. Let's get snow, big ratings, close game.

2:12:56AJ Hawk:Wow. Love to watch those snowing. Well, the ratings are going to be problematic, you know, because there is black, you know. Is that still going on? That's still going on. Send another tweet, Herbie. All right. Be your friend. Tell a friend something. Don't, actually. Don't do it. Don't you dare. You coached me up on that. Now I know. I went to the site.

2:13:15Pat McAfee:Herbie, why don't you break us down? Then we're going to take a break, and we'll come back and do all the overreactions and be on our way. but this is our last time with you, Herbie, on this glorious overreaction Monday. Anything to say to the team here, Herbie?

2:13:26AJ Hawk:Love you, boys. You guys are the best. We love Mondays, so we can overreact with you guys and all just get it off of our chest and then start a new tomorrow. Appreciate you. Your show with Joey G, sweet, nonstop. We appreciate you checking in this morning. Absolutely. Great show. Great show. It's on YouTube.

2:13:44Adam Schefter:Thank you. Isn't it wild that they were teammates in college and me and Joey Gallo were teammates Mason, bro. That's how long he was. Yeah. Fast. That's nuts. He was still fast. He could still play. 4-1-8. What's that? 4-1-8. Yeah. Can't make a fucking putt. I see it on his Instagram. Can't make a putt. But I love that man.

2:14:07Pat McAfee:I do enjoy the hell out of him. Alright, we'll be back on the other side with overreactions from around the NFL. Be a friend, tell a friend something nice. It might change your life. We're in this thing together. Team on me. Team on three. One, two, three. Team. Team. Team. Hey, I just Venmo'd you for rent.

2:14:22Adam Schefter:Nice. Now I can instantly spend it whether I'm checking out online with Venmo or using a Venmo debit card. Say more. More exactly. Because the more you do with Venmo, the more you get. Like earning up to 5 % cash back with Venmo Stash on a bundle of brands. So, order more pizza. The math demands it. Get the Venmo debit card. Venmo Stash bundle terms and exclusions apply. See terms at Venmo.me slash stash terms. Venmo checkout not available at all merchants. Venmo MasterCard is issued by the Bancorp Bank NA.

2:15:20Pat McAfee:football is magical. That's A.J. Hawk. The Talks at the table is here at Boston Corner and at Ty Schmidt. One half of the hammer. Down. Cowboys. AP Tony's here. Tom, what are the numbers on tonight's game? We already made our picks because Kirk Herbstreit was so damn confident about how this was going to go. And I'll tell you, he's seeing the game. He is. He is seeing the field right now. Now, certainly in college, it will carry over to Monday Night Football. Feels like he thinks this is the last second field goal for Green Bay to get the win. He picked Green Bay minus one and a half. A.J. Hawk, you picked Green Bay minus one and a half as well.

2:15:49Pat McAfee:Obviously feel obligated to as the all-time leading tackler, but why do you actually believe that as well? I mean, I think it's going to be one of those magical nights in Lambeau. I truly do. I saw there's flurries possibly going to happen. It's just, yeah, good luck beating this team. Josh Jacobs on the ground, even though I have a ton of respect for Philly's D-line and what they can do. But, man, I just think Jordan Love puts it together. This is one of those games you look back on, you know, two months from now and you say, hey, we took a big step that night. Yeah, the Eagles could be saying the same thing, D-Buck.

2:16:16Couldn't they be?

2:16:17Adam Schefter:Yeah, I think they will. I think the Eagles fly tonight. I just looked up the odds. It's around plus 250 for my alternate line, which is minus 6.5. I had no idea that graphic popped up with them being 8-0 against the Spurrier straight up and winning those games by an average of 12.6 points, I believe. Saquon finding his footing, I think it's a bit of a runaway for the Eagles tonight. Tom, what's the number? Who's on what? So if you want, you get the pack at minus 1.5. You can get the Eagles at plus that one and a half if you guys want. If you don't want to go with D-Buds money, six and a half alternate spread there.

2:16:4980 % of the bets are on Philadelphia. Fuck. Boom. Love that. Love the pack tonight. Love them. One team's coming off a terrible loss. This weekend. We just played in a bad weather game. This weekend, teams that are getting 60 % or more of the bets are four and seven. Oh, no. Oh. What was that for? What was that for? Yes. I'm good. I'm good. Okay. Yeah, I feel okay. I feel okay because I didn't like that 80 % number there. It was really high.

2:17:17Pat McAfee:I said, football gods, why don't you bless me with a U-ball shot right here? See if I'm going in the right direction. That was splashy splash right there. That was good news, but we're not going to be able to play. Anyways, let's get some overreaction, shall we? This Monday of football season could be a special one. Could be a breaking point for some fans, and it could be a making point for some fans. That's why we kind of want to get the temperature, the lay of the land around the league with different fandoms. So I put out a tweet that said, Hey, why don't you tell me how you feel? What do you think of your team?

2:17:48Pat McAfee:Are you great or are you ass? All you got to use is the hashtag. I don't want to overreact. But. Ty will scan through them and find his favorites. It ended up being a top three trending topic, I do believe. We appreciate everybody loving ball as much as we do. And also utilizing this tweet as a therapeutic session to kind of get it all out of you. Let's start first with Evan Fox. Okay, this guy handsome guy good beard. Okay, one point we saw him. He didn't have a beard much different life now with a beard Super handsome very mature two weddings sky got married twice It was truly a wonderful thing same person the wonderful brought yes same person Good person is an awesome person by the way.

2:18:30Pat McAfee:This guy has lived with the Lions his whole life You know, I look forward to Thanksgiving all the time hashtag. I don't want to over yet But not only is MCDC the best coach in the NFL, but he's also the best play caller in the NFL. Do not fuck with four-eyed Dan Campbell. Hashtag one pride. Amen, brother. I mean, it was a masterclass seemingly by Dan Campbell. Yeah, if we're overreacting right now, just based off Lions Twitter, everyone was done with John Morton there. And listen, love Johnny Moe, but the offense was clunky. It didn't look right. It didn't look like a Ben Johnson's offense. And then MCDC takes the reins over.

2:19:06Pat McAfee:And it looks amazing. Everyone's eating. Everyone's getting balls. And also, I got to add this in there. After a loss, Dan Campbell hasn't lost the next game in 1 ,100 days. And that's just incredible coaching. So I'm happy he's our guy. Yeah, certainly happy he's your guy for the sake of your life and your football fandom. You know, him taking over play calling and them being great. Do you think this comes from everybody complaining about not getting a ball on Monday and Dan Campbell saying, enough of it, I'll just call the plays? and did we know this about Dane Campbell as we're talking about Ben Johnson's genius do we think Dane Campbell also maybe had a hand in this in the past or is it just like hey I'll jump in whenever you need me AJ I bet before it was probably very collaborative throughout the week everything but when it comes to the game like only one person can be calling the plays and can have the radio and radio into uh to the quarterback's helmet but yeah you're taking bits of advice and everything throughout the game but think about it you're the guy making the call you're on the clock as soon as that play ends boom we're on to the next one you're planning for you know future drives which has been awesome so far watching all this what a shot also well sorry for the gentleman that got suspended what a shot he had on a monitor i'm sorry i just thought of it again geez that was just that was a violent shot yeah so credit to all involved i guess on this one oh he felt he saw that right at the last second didn't he almost i'm on yeah i just yeah he had his hand, Don.

2:20:30Pat McAfee:I genuinely don't know how we got to this point. I'm sure both parties there certainly understand now that they are not good friends. But whenever they were a good offense, they were winning games. So MCDC to take over the play calls, I wonder what happened. Johnny Mo has got to be so pissed too. MCDC's like, oh yeah, I'll take over the calls against the commanders. Johnny Mo's like, we can call literally anything and score 50 against commanders. But that's the thing is they weren't utilizing and all their weapons. So I think if you listen to what was said by some of the players afterwards, like we got a lot of good guys.

2:21:05Pat McAfee:When we spread it around, we can all kind of eat or whatever. I think there was a lot of complaints happening to Dan Campbell about not getting the ball. I think there was people pissed off and Dan Campbell was like, you're right, man. You're right, man. What can I do? I'm going to do it. And then he just gives the ball to everybody. I mean, how many people had literally play changing games? Felt like all of the stars had big time plays. J-Mo had six catches. St. Brown had five catches. Laporta had five catches. Kalief Raymond had four catches. Jameer Gibbs had 173 total yards. So, yeah. And my favorite part about it all, and this is just being a good head coach, is when even though they were winning games, they're five and three, it just didn't look right, and he knew something had to change, so he changed it, and he put it on himself.

2:21:44What if he has six turnovers next week, man? Uh-oh. Uh-oh, man. Uh-oh, man. And then we got a whole other conversation. Uh-oh, man. John Morton was calling plays, man. Yeah. It wasn't me, man. Yeah, just like Vilma.

2:21:57Pat McAfee:Oh, man. Yeah. For some reason, he just wouldn't say that Dan Campbell was calling plays. And I don't know if he just thought that he couldn't, you know? But he was alluding to it. He was like, sure looks like he's potentially, and they were zoomed in on his face and he was talking. And he had glasses. And I think they even showed Jared Goff go like this to him. And then him go, hey, Jared, you know, while he was doing it. And they just refused to say it, you know, like on the broadcast. From my understanding, did they ever get to the point of saying, Hey, it's very obvious that Dan Campbell's calling the plays right now.

2:22:30Pat McAfee:It just felt like they were a little gunshot. Yeah, never outright said it, but that tweet I just showed you guys, that came out right when the game started. So clearly Garofalo knew this change happened and was just getting out in front of everyone. So that's why it was so weird that Jonathan Vilma wouldn't just address it. Yeah, hey, Campbell's calling the plays here. Vilma could see him with his glasses on and the thing. And Johnny Moe not having a play sheet. Like, they kept showing that on TV. It was very obvious. It was very obvious. I'm telling you, it was in between plays they were showing, this is the offense coordinator not doing anything.

2:23:01Pat McAfee:He's literally not sitting. He's just sitting up there having a good time. Got a good little goatee. I don't think I knew exactly what he looked like. And they go back to Dan Campbell. Glasses on. It's while the play clock's happening. He's like, he certainly looks like he could potentially be. It's like, brother.

2:23:16Adam Schefter:Maybe Dan Campbell finessed him in production meetings. He's like, no, Johnny Moore will be calling. You'll see me with glasses. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. They wouldn't confirm to Vilma, maybe. Maybe they asked him, hey, are you going to be calling plays, coach? And he's like, no, you know, it's all team effort. It's all stupid up there, Bill. I respect Jonathan Vilma. I'm not going to say I don't. But as I was listening to him talk, I'm like, are we all – what am I missing? I had it muted at first. Then they see Dan Campbell with his glasses on, his little fucking thing. I'm like, that looks sweet.

2:23:45Let's go over there. And then I hear Vilma saying, this guy may be not calling place. It's like he's fucking clearly – have we ever seen him with glasses on? Have we – this four-eyed girl?

2:23:54Pat McAfee:I don't think we've ever seen four guys doing it. But I appreciate Jonathan Vilma. Okay? I do appreciate Jonathan Vilma doing his thing. Kenny Albert doing their thing. Had a president call play. Love what they're doing. But just refusing to acknowledge what was clearly happening, which will go on to be one of the biggest stories of the entire game, basically. It's like, hey, this Detroit Lions team completely changed who's calling plays here. The head coach is now in charge. Which then goes to a whole, do the coordinators matter if MCDC can just go ahead and do everything? and he has said, this place should be able to operate without me in here.

2:24:27Pat McAfee:Is it what I want to build? What a good spot for the Detroit Lions. Let's move on. Vilma and Kenny Albert, great work out there. I'm just saying, every time I heard the conversation about Izzy calling plays, it's like, this guy's been in the NFL a long time. Maybe he was being told you can't. I was just waiting for Kenny Albert to be like, yes, he is. Usually that would be his role, but he didn't. What did Kenny say to the president uh the only thing i listen for when i hear kenny albert talk if he's not saying yes just over and over again it's kind of in one ear out the other there was a lot of those for the detroit lions yeah exactly a lot of big time throws and yes touch them a lot of those and then commander's turn over detroit lions got the ball again and oh no but yes that's kind of his bag and that's that's why i love him so good is the president going to be joining you in the booth tonight, Kenny?

2:25:21Yes! Do you have a plan for the president, Kenny?

2:25:25Adam Schefter:Yes! Are you going to have him call a play, Kenny? Yes! Whenever

2:25:32Pat McAfee:the commanders score, is the president immediately going to acknowledge the ratings boost that that has to be because this game has been boring and a blowout? Yes! Okay, alright. Let's go to the next overreactions from Boston Connor. Legend living in his best life right now. Hashtag I don't want to overreact. But But the Patriots are so much better than your favorite team. And this year's draft class might go down as the best draft class in the history of ball. Take a long look and get used to it. Again, tell me about the draft class, Con, man. Yeah, every single one of those players on there played their asses off.

2:26:06Trevion, of course, everyone knows. I believe he reached 22 miles an hour. We were just talking about that at the break. Kyle Williams, also 72-yard touchdown. Filthy. He's kind of sitting a little bit in the back seat right now just because Kayshawn Booty's doing so well. Jared Wilson starting left guard. Will Campbell, of course, starting left tackle. And then Craig Woodson. I texted D-Butt during the game. He's the reason they were so comfortable letting Kyle Duggar out the door. He actually had a massive pass breakup on third and three, which led to a fourth and three, which led to a turnover on downs.

2:26:38He is very, very good. And then the photo on the right, McDaniels. You know, the coaching staff is not going anywhere. Everyone they have, but not everyone. Essentially, everyone they have has either been a head coach or has been in a kind of higher position. And everyone just feels comfortable being under the Mike Vrabel, Supreme Commander, head coach tree. And I don't think any of them want to leave. McDaniels has already said, I just want to coach Drake May for the rest of my career. And that's the most important thing. Head coaching matters. I mean, we just heard everything we just talked about, about MCDC and Foxy.

2:27:12It's actually the only reason I'm worried about my Packers pick because I think LaFleur sucks. But the Patriots are unbelievable. There is a chance here that this draft class won just kind of picks up the Drake May basically flag and just continues to run with the man. The Pats are going to be good for the next 10 years with Drake May and Vrabel, and it might go much, much further after that. Congrats to you guys. We were really bummed out for you for those couple years. And I felt that, and I appreciated that, and now you guys can just be happy for me.

2:27:44Pat McAfee:Okay, we are happy for you again. And it's not just the Patriots. Red Sox, well, it looks like they're going to be good. Yeah, they're on the up and up. And don't look now, but Marco Stern has those Boston Bruins playing pretty fucking well, too. Oh, yeah? Oh, yeah. And hold on. Luka Garza had 16-8 last night, and we beat the Orlando Magic as underdogs. Joe Mazzulla, if he's not the head coach of the Celtics, he's going to coach his son's team because he doesn't want to coach for anyone else. And I fear that might lead to a very terrible life for Coach Mazzulla, but he's going to be the head coach in Boston for a little.

2:28:14Okay, so you got a young head coach there. You got a new head coach for the Patriots. You got a newer head coach for the Bruins. Where the Red Sox go, I know you got Tony Tony, right? Yeah, we got Tony Tony. Also, word on the street is Tarek Skubal wants to be a Boston Red Sox, baby. Whoa, really? So don't look now. The kind of four major teams that you guys and myself have been so used to being just dominant in Titletown, USA. We had a little bit of a drop. won the nba championship two years ago but we had a little bit of a drought yeah i had a parade still they're all the way back all four of them it's dangerous times for everybody else i feel real bad if you're not a new england sports fan it might get real ugly across the board it has

2:28:58Pat McAfee:been in the past yeah yeah mass holes being given a lot of reason to be mass holes it's certainly a time that we're staring down here and we all need to understand that you know we try to give a little of a warning at the end of COVID as people were starting to roll out in public. Try to remember this. Try to give a little bit of a warning like, hey, when you're at your house all by yourself and you're just popping off on the internet, there was no actual repercussions other than people saying, you're a jerk. Real life people will punch you in the fucking face. You need to remember that. As we get out of our house and we go into public in society, let's remember that there are people that are about it, about it out there and not about it, about it with your bullshit and they will punch you in the face.

2:29:39Pat McAfee:first weekend of sports, it was a knockout. Every baseball game. Every single, boom, the bang and the pound. Felt like that was an observational thing from us that we did pretty good societal studies in the entire thing. Another one, mass holes are about to be all the way back and very loud. Remember what it was like 10 years ago, 15 years ago? It's about to be like that again. We should prepare accordingly. Yeah, and I just really worry that within these next couple years, Paul Skeen ships up to Boston and then we have a real problem on our hands when it comes to those four he's not shipping he's an LSU guy Will Campbell too I believe they're kind of friends actually and when you hear Drake May speak it just feels like him and Skeen are kind of like soulmates they both are just about their sport Drake May I'm sure he is more than a football player but he's a football player through and through there's nothing about him that's not ball and also the comments under his wife's TikTok because his wife is just kind of, I mean, she's got a May in the shade.

2:30:43She's married to Drake fucking May. So she's just kind of cooking and it's awesome actually and it looks great. All the comments on her TikTok are hilarious. It's just, hey, don't let Drake eat too much tonight unless he wants to, then let him eat whatever he wants.

2:30:57Pat McAfee:She's first lady all of a sudden. Yeah, Lady May, if you will. But yes, it is wonderful to be a new actor. Lady May is certainly a fantastic name. Congratulations to the Mays and the Mayflower that obviously descended upon Massachusetts again. Other teams searching far and wide for this. Other cities begging for this. New England says, let us take it again. How could they let Vrabel go back there? I'll tighten. Vrabel said something about the games. He did. Just don't put our names in the same sentence. Good luck, Nashville You guys are going to do great They gotta be Every Titans fan is just like What have we done?

2:31:46They're chanting his name as he comes in and beats him with his new squad Things happen What is kind of sweet that we should talk about Is how great the NFC is at the top The AFC isn't that great across the board aside from New England and Indianapolis. Like, it really is. If you're looking at the top, especially right now, like, how great do we feel about the Broncos? Eh? Steelers? Chargers? Bills? Jags? Like, the Chiefs are the Chiefs. They're in the middle of a dynasty. I fully expect them to be at least the five seed, if not come back and win that division. He is, by the way. I didn't – he's much more – Pretty put together.

2:32:25Yeah, he's much more stocky. Yeah. Like, kind of jacked than you think, you know,

2:32:29Pat McAfee:because everybody sees photos and they think he has – he was hit him on the back a couple times it's like oh this guy he's got some got it yeah because he's been hitting a lot of first thing he shows up i go you gotta stop fucking taking these hits i'm sick of it he goes what i'm giving the hits i'm not taking hits i go exactly this is the problem to talk about you need to stop thinking like that so made sure i added it on air just so chiefs fans everybody know i am thank you i am on your side he needs to stop trying to run people He's already a GOAT, already has a Hall of Fame resume. And now he's like, you know what?

2:33:01Pat McAfee:Yeah, I'm actually the toughest guy on this field, too. I'm going to start doing it. It's like, we know you are. You've proved it. Way to go. We need you not doing that. He's special, dude. You should have seen him. When him and Mrs. Mahomes walked onto the fucking field, it was just like, the whole place goes crazy. Wasn't on the Jumbotron at first as he was walking out. So, student section area, this corner basically goes crazy. Then they put him up on the thing, and it was just like, you watch the entire fucking thing. Title wave. Yeah, just absolutely go crazy. It was like, holy shit. And they're wearing his uniforms out there.

2:33:33Sick. Yeah, he's done good. Yeah, I'd say Bash Bones has done good.

2:33:37Pat McAfee:New college ball, too. I don't know how his picks were, but he knew it very, very well. Yeah, did his picks go all right? Yeah, I don't know how his picks ended up. Yeah, he was good on there. I don't remember. Yeah, I'm not sure. He did say in there, though, the favorite guy for him to watch right now is Dante Moore. And as far as the draft goes next year, we really didn't talk about him with Mendoza and Ty Simpson. I'm like, Dante Moore might be one of those guys. I saw people saying that Ryle was going to be upset he said that. Oh, yeah. I saw a lot of people saying that. I saw those tweets.

2:34:04He was hurting. He was talking about active. Yeah, the Incredibles meme. Yeah. Dante threw some really good balls in the ring. Yeah. What's that? Dante threw some really good balls in the ring. And all of his wide receivers were out. He only threw the ball like five times. You guys could have won that game. Should have won that game. Yeah. But. Hey, that's life. Yep. We knew they were. we all knew they weren't. I don't think so. As soon as Kirk Herbstreet opened his mouth on Thursday. That was it. That move right there. That would indicate, like, I was more worried about, oh, they're going to get routed.

2:34:39Like, they're going to come in and it really you know, like, Iowa had their opportunities. They outplayed them, actually. Yeah, but the football gods just weren't going to let that happen. That fumble. The fumble. The fumble. Oh, 6-7? Is that what you just did right there? It's really alive and well. I noticed that whenever Saban went like this while he was giving an answer to the entire student section. Everybody just immediately went to it. I was like, holy shit, this thing's got real motion. Yeah, it's got legs. Yes, it does. Yes, it certainly does. And I'll tell you what, I'm starting to find a lot of different ways to use it.

2:35:10You know, if it's going to be a part of society, we should start maybe using it. Then you got the people going, when's this over? I'm like, I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I just watched fucking 10 ,000 people do it all in unison. None of them talked about it. So I think we're currently what you'd like to call in its prime. Oh, yeah. I believe we are currently in its prime,

2:35:29Pat McAfee:and it's going to have some more time, I believe. That was a lovely place. Let's go to another overreaction, shall we? Phoenix Maximus, a fan of the program. I believe a lot of action. We appreciate the hell out of them. Don't know who it is. Hashtag I don't want to overreact. But Tomlin and his Steelers live off of historical greatness more than a Greek tourism department. The best ownership in Pittsburgh is Fenway at this point, and damn, it hurts to say that. fire everyone except Boz. I don't know if the Fenway group is still in with the Penguins. If they are, I believe they are trying to get out, and we are hoping that they are on their way out.

2:36:04But on that note, the Greek tourism board, that's throwback. That's back when the Greek gods were really doing their thing, kind of get us over there. Do you think that's true on how people view the Pittsburgh Steelers? Funny fact, I believe I either muted or blocked that guy last night. So that's good. Phoenix match with him? Yeah, pretty sure. He's a bit chirpy. But no, what he said there is not incorrect. Tomlin coaches like it's 1988, you know, run the ball, protect the ball, try to force turnovers. It's old. It's worn out. We're over it. Whoa. You're over this whole season, Tone? No, no. I'm at a point this season where they can't hurt me anymore.

2:36:50I don't know if that's the case. No, literally last night for the first time in my history of a fan at half, I said, I know how the second half is going to go, and I turned it off. Really? I've never, ever done that in my entire life. That's dad, husband, full-time job life right there on a Sunday night saying, I'm not letting him do it to me again. Wife's out of town, so I knew if I had to deal with stuff, it was going to be me. So I said, you know what? I'm not letting the Steelers ruin my night. And I did. Defense wasn't bad, though. Aaron played the worst game you could possibly play as a quarterback.

2:37:20I don't know. We had six turnovers last week against Pittsburgh Steelers.

2:37:24Adam Schefter:I saw a negative 10 passing yard on a graphic earlier in the show today. Yeah, but you saw it. You saw it. I mean, he overthrew DK. He overthrew Jonu. Aaron has been incredible this season. I'll say that. But last night was horrendous. He was on the three-yard line and thought he was Michael Vick and decided to jump backwards into the end zone for safety. How many people in Pittsburgh are saying the exact things that you just said right there? Did you hear that? I just heard every Pittsburgh dad go, oh, Aaron Rodgers, 47 years old, thinks he's Mike Vick. Okay, you're going to outrun Khalil Mack.

2:37:59Okay, Aaron. Yeah, go further into the end zone next time. We can win the next five or we can lose the next five, and that's just how it is right now. Good luck to the Steelers and Phoenix Maximus. Let's go to the next overreaction. This one's from Grant. I believe that's a Korean flag.

2:38:13Pat McAfee:At Grant, Andres, maybe international teacher or something. Hashtag I don't want to overreact, but Colts win in the Super Bowl. Indiana Jones sucking the blood out of the Falcons defense. JT ramming through everyone like a juggernaut. The football gods blessing us with Warren, not even worried about the schedule. Me neither, Grant. Hell yeah. Everything you just said was right. I knew it was a big day for Jonathan Taylor just because I saw him running a lot, but with the way the game was going, I don't think I expected it. Whenever they said he is 220 yards right now, I was like 220. Good Morgan, Jonathan Taylor.

2:38:49Pat McAfee:This has been a great day. over there in Germany. And then, obviously, with his ability to break the long run, long one, the home run one, it's like any game is changeable. If we're losing, we're out. There's a chance we're about to hit a home run. This is the longest touchdown of the season for Jonathan Taylor and the NFL for a run. It's like this guy's outrageous. Four, three touchdown games is insane. Offensive line, seemingly all the way back. Now, they do have to protect a little bit better, and snappers got to get the ball to Daniel Jones' chest whenever he's snapping it. We can't have him bouncing all over the place.

2:39:21Pat McAfee:Danny Dimes has another two turnovers this week following last week's sixth turnover game. So eight turnovers in a two-week period. We end up with a win throughout, so that's good news. But if we get that cleaned up, which we should be able to, Danny Dimes is making massive throws. A lot of people want Daniel Jones to go back to who he was in New York. I hate to break it to you. With little to no time left, he was dropping dimes. And over time, he dropped an absolute dime. The big moments, whenever they called for it, Daniel Jones delivered, which I think is what everybody who wants to see him fail would say he can't do.

2:39:53Pat McAfee:He can. Tyler Warren, to his point about the football gods blessing us, he's unbelievable. He had his ankle tape, too. I have no idea what he's got going on, but he's not going on the field with an ankle tape like that if there isn't something real. So I assume he's pretty banged up. He had a couple huge, huge. He had a fourth down, obviously, for us earlier. That one in overtime puts us in position to kick the field goal if we want to, to win this. Instead, Jonathan Taylor says, let me just go ahead and pull him away, and then I'll do my dance all over Germany. In the Colts for the home team, there was an interesting situation with Cleet Blakeman in a coin toss at overtime, but it felt like it was a home game too.

2:40:25Pat McAfee:Bjorn Werner was on the anvil beforehand, stood up to place one crazy. The guy who sings the... What's his name? Scooter. Scooter performed his song. Everybody was dancing. DeFlo was not performing. He was probably there if I had to guess. Edger and James Dallas Clark were doing a bunch of stuff. If Kalen built a parking lot or a park, I mean, I'm so sorry, over there, it's like the Colts, Carly Ursa goes and buys a round for everybody that was at the Colts home-based bar. And then we actually got inside information from Source in Germany that maybe were the DJ for a couple different events. And the DJ said to us that Carly Ursa walked in.

2:41:08Pat McAfee:Okay, I don't think she was supposed to plan to be there. Asked the DJ, hey, how do you say let's fucking go in German? DJ tells her, and then she says that to the crowd. Place goes absolutely crazy. She does a how you doing, maybe buys a round, and then leaves. So it's like Carly, Kalen, the Colts tried to embrace Germany, I think, as much as possible. And I think Germany was embracing them back, especially with our history with Bjorn, former first-round pick, and obviously everything he's done for the game over there. And then we put on a show for him. It was like home run situation for a Colts home game in Germany.

2:41:41Pat McAfee:and I was really proud of the entire franchise and organization, to be clear. Absolutely.

2:41:45Adam Schefter:Took a total team effort. You know, going overseas, there's always different challenges you've got to deal with. It's a team. Coaches always say, hey, play the whole 60 minutes. We've seen teams around the league lose, Leeds, Jaguars, Giants, whoever it is, in that fourth quarter. So for us to close the game out, Bagley making a kick, Badgerley making a kick after he missed a couple, which was a big-time kick. We needed it. And defense getting a stop in OT and offense going down and getting it done. And then, obviously, Sauce Gardner. You trade two first-round picks, that's going to be a conversation.

2:42:16Adam Schefter:A lot of eyes are going to be on him. I can't imagine what he was trying to deal with, learning the playbook, traveling, doing all the different things. So I'll give him a pass kind of on this performance, even though he had a good performance, but I don't think it was up to his standard. So I'm excited to see where we're going with this whole new team and new generation with Daniel Jones. And then the celebration. We got to talk about the celebration with Cam Bynum. Because this, I think this was a Two Americas type situation. Oh, no. I know a dream. With the Colts tweet, and we talk about, hey, you never want to be the main character on black Twitter.

2:42:50Adam Schefter:The Colts Twitter handle was definitely the main character on Sunday after the Cam Bynum team. If we can pull that tweet up. We're looking. Okay, yeah, so Colts, Cam Bynum, you know. So, Drew Hill. You know who Drew Hill is. You know, the big-time R &B group.

2:43:06Pat McAfee:I'm 38 years old, so I know.

2:43:07Adam Schefter:Yeah, so they kind of – Cisco, thong song. Exactly. He was lead singer. But their, you know, main kind of dance move, once you pull the clip up, we'll see what that is. But it became more popular in the last, I would say, probably year or so on Twitter. And a group of Twitter, black Twitter, parents have started to punish their kids with Drew Hills. Like, hey, give me 10 Drew Hills. Give me 20 Drew Hills. And obviously kids have been pissed off. So Cam Bynum pulled it out, and then we'll have the post right here with the –

2:43:37Pat McAfee:Do we have the Colts post or just the dance? Yeah, yeah, here's the – is this the Colts post that he was talking about? This is the dance. Can we show the dance first? We'll show the dance. Okay, so here's the dance, and then here's the –

2:43:49Adam Schefter:So great execution by the boys. Great, you know, they're all on the same page. And then with the tweet, though, the tweet had the Colts were getting jiggy with it. So I don't know if they thought that was a big Willie performance. And then once you go down in the comments, you'll see a lot of, hey, all right, we know who's running the Colts account. We know what's going on here. So just be schooled up. Be on the same page. How many views on that getting jiggy with it? That got into black Twitter? It got in a million. It's got to be sure, right? Be sure before you go public with it, right? Got jiggy with it.

2:44:26Pat McAfee:Na, na, na, na, na, na. Na, na, na, na, na. Let's see how many views this one got. Scroll down, scroll down. Hey!

2:44:35Adam Schefter:Okay, yeah, a lot of people saw that. A lot of quotes. A lot of quotes. A lot of quotes. Yeah, so it's one of those moments. But great vibes. Huge win by the Colts over there in Germany. Well, to be clear, they did get jiggy. They did. Yeah, still a fact. Still a fact. That's what's being said in the social media department. We weren't saying it was Will Smith. We were just saying that they were, as you can see, kind of getting a jiggy. Look at 32. He's getting jiggy with it right there. Are they not getting jiggy? So you're telling me that's not getting jiggy? Okay. I thought we're trying to get jiggy with it.

2:45:10Oh, I love it.

2:45:12Pat McAfee:The internet's the greatest.

2:45:13Adam Schefter:It's the best.

2:45:14Pat McAfee:Let's go to another overreaction tweet show. This one's from TR at ChosenFew54. And we appreciate you being great at whatever you do. Hashtag I don't want to overreact, but the bills are dead. Move us to Canada and get it over with. I'd rather shut my balls in a car door than ever watched what I had to witness on Sunday again. Tear down New Stadium and put the Buffalo statues out of their misery, all right? This guy wants them to kill the statues that aren't tall enough. Yeah. Just get them away from everything. Bill's obviously losing to Dolphins. Their fans are not happy about it. Remember, not all ass teams are ass all the time.

2:45:44Pat McAfee:Nope. And on that note, every once in a while, really good teams are going to play like ass, which I think is what happened on this particular field down in South Florida. Obviously, Dolphins fans are very excited. Gumpy's got a hoodie. He's got a hat. I mean, he's got the whole thing on this Victory Monday. They were celebrating in the locker room. They love McDaniels. This comes after they fired Greer. So maybe a special Sunday for Miami. And on that note, Bills fans, you can't give up that quick. Can't give up that quick. Now, there's some trends that are happening to this Bills defense that I think are alarming for Bills fans if you want to win a Super Bowl.

2:46:15Pat McAfee:Hembo sent us a stat. They're not stopping a run at all against good running backs. Derrick Henry goes crazy. B. John Robinson goes crazy. A-chan goes crazy against the Buffalo Bills rush defense. So they certainly have reason to be a little bit alarmed. But on that note, let's not be putting our balls in a car door. Let's not be smashing any balls in doors at this moment. Yeah, they're a fickle bunch. I think the reason is because they are looking ahead. The Bills' schedule is very, very tough. They got the Bucs at home. Tough game, especially Bucs coming off a loss. At Houston in prime time.

2:46:50At Steelers. Bengals December 7th

2:46:54Pat McAfee:which so you're saying a lot of things I'm hearing not the same yeah yeah true true two of those three so far not great but now the Bengals in December 7th with what we heard today that's Joe Burrow if he comes back at New England Browns okay and then the Eagles so just with that race like they do I'm a Bills fan I'm pretty excited I'm pretty excited for what we got down the stretch here I did keep going to D-Bone's Twitter to see how Bill's Mafia was feeling yesterday. There was just nothing there. It was interesting. Hard to tweet when you're losing. D-Bone. He can't be a front runner. Yeah, true.

2:47:32D-Bone

2:47:32Pat McAfee:understands he's a national champion football player. Yeah, he knows. He's national. They got the Eagles still. They got the Bucs still. They got New England still.

2:47:39Adam Schefter:Kinkade got hurt again, too. He's their best weapon. Alright, so let's say those are three

2:47:44Pat McAfee:losses. And then Joe Burrow-Bangles, I think we just kind of have to wait and see, I guess. They're what, a game and a half behind the Pats right now? They really can't afford it. And I think the Pats, I mean, however you want to look at it. And we talked about how every team in the NFL is good, but in terms of strength of schedule, I think they have the easiest remaining schedule, the Pats do. So it's like, can you even afford to lose three games?

2:48:10Adam Schefter:Do we think the Bills can win the Super Bowl this year? No. I don't think anybody can.

2:48:13Pat McAfee:Put that Hembo stat up again about the rush yards? Yeah. That is going to be tough to win the Super Bowl.

2:48:18Adam Schefter:BA was talking about weeks ago. They're 31st in rushing.

2:48:22AJ Hawk:Like, it's not just those three.

2:48:23Adam Schefter:Yeah, and even Josh Allen still in MVP. Sorry, 31st against the run. That's what I meant. But, like, if you look at the offense as a whole, like, that offense isn't scaring anybody outside of James Cook. Guys couldn't get open yesterday at all.

2:48:35Pat McAfee:Hey, I saw a lot of sick flexing out of Miami. Guy got a pick, I think. Grill. Full grill. Right in the camera. Them celebrating afterwards, I'm like, good for Miami. Good for Miami. I'm fun. This is the experience you're supposed to have as a professional football player. Yeah, I like that you're getting to have this. Now, are they potentially thinking, who knows when this is coming again? We have no idea. Everybody, unload the clip on shit we've wanted to do. Get the laundry baskets. Fucking get the noise. Get the music. It's the first for me. Yeah, and get the stage ready for coach. We need a spin of Rudy.

2:49:07Fucking hit the worm as well, sir. We need fucking coach standing on a riser. We need everything. We don't know when this is happening again. We need all the speeches. We need all the chants. Let's get the cigars in this motherfucker. This is football. This is what it's supposed to be here, boys. This is what it's supposed to be. Do all coaches stand on stuff when they talk to the team? It's like it's its own little stage, it looks like. Do they travel with that thing? It looks like its own stage.

2:49:31Pat McAfee:It was a home game. The world is a stage, and McDaniel is certainly taking advantage of it. But, yeah, he just wants to be able to see everybody in the back. You know, that's just kind of how it is. This is the next overreaction, shall we, from the Buffalo Bills slamming their balls in car doors to Tyler Stevenson. Hashtag I don't want to overreact. But. Whoever that dipshit that said KOC and JJ 9 were going to run the NFC North needs to be held accountable. This team will go absolutely nowhere with this alter ego loser QB. Round of applause to Kwesi and KOC on this move. I miss Donald. A lot of Vikings fans not happy about 9?

2:50:03Yeah, people are sick of the 9 thing. I think if he would have just said, I'm JJ McCarthy the whole time, no big deal. Hey, our young quarterback had a little bit of a rough game. But, I mean, the alter ego sucks. I think that's the problem. What do you mean? This guy's new to the NFL. He's your first real snaps. He's a rookie. Yeah, but like you said, I mean, I think. Well, he's not, but you get it. Right, and you can, you know, we've seen it with Josh Allen. Like, you can get a little bit more accurate, you know, while you're in the league. 20 of 42 ain't going to cut it. And some of these interceptions that he was throwing.

2:50:34Peyton Manning threw 20 interceptions. You think J.J. McCarthy's Peyton Manning? Just early. Just early on. We don't have to do a whole, just yes or no. Do you think J.J. McCarthy is Peyton Manning? Personally, I don't. I don't know if Peyton was ever saying 18, call me 18. Exactly. I mean, maybe. Sure. Don't fucking call me Peyton. I'm 18 on the field. People also are not happy about the nine thing because Matt Stafford. People are like, oh, this guy thinks he's the number nine quarterback. Matt Stafford.

2:51:06Pat McAfee:Number nine in soccer is a huge deal, too. So, I mean, there's a lot of, like, nine indicators.

2:51:11Adam Schefter:I saw a lot of replies on the post-locker room, the video, when he was, you know. Oh, yeah. Well, not just that. He threw one good pass in the first quarter, and he's walking down the field like he just won the fucking game. He got an unflappable confidence. He does. He's a leader. You've got to be confident. So we can say whatever we want about him. Hold on. Let's get into this. You guys see me in the heart. Still early. Still early. But on that note, JJ, I believe, buddy.

2:51:40Pat McAfee:I believe in the J.J. I believe in J.J. Everybody says he's the guy mentally. It's like, we'll see offseason. He hasn't had like a career, an NFL career, really, opportunity. This is his rookie season. He's in there for the first time. So he might have some ass throws like off by 10 yards. With guys that need to work a lot of accuracy and all that stuff, which he certainly does. But from everything we know about him, he'll take ownership of that and hopefully get better. A lot of what I was seeing too was, oh, boy, J.J. McCarthy is going to turn Justin Jefferson into Stephon Diggs when he was in Minnesota.

2:52:14And then KFC won't let that happen. Somebody's going to be throwing the ball to Justin Jefferson. Yeah, Drake May it sounds like. Somebody is going to be. Holy shit. No, he went to the Bills. You better hope not. You better hope not, especially with Brandon Bean looking into Jalen Waddle allegedly during the trade. Yeah, he was going to go to the Bills because they were the kings of the AFC East, but that's over. And now, this year, everyone sees what's happening. You want to play for Mike Rabel and get Drake May? Don't you have a lot of money, too, up there? We have the most money by a wide margin over the next few years.

2:52:50I'm so smart. They got a lot of picks. I mean, they – How does this happen? Yeah, held on. I don't know how we let this happen as a league. As a league. And I don't know what it is, but the number three is now mine. It used to be four, but now the number three is my new favorite number because if you just look at, you know, just the importance of it, Jason Tatum, Jalen Brown, and Drake May, all the number three overall pick. I mean, it's just one of those things where they just fall into your lap sometimes. Other people make decisions and you guys say thank you. Exactly.

2:53:20Pat McAfee:The next overreaction, this is what life is now. We've been trying to give warnings. This is from at NFL Opinions. Hashtag I don't want to overreact, but the Jets are back. We let the stars walk and instantly become better. Have fun with slips, Gardner. That's good. Sorry about it. It was a two-point play. Yeah, and the guy got to go get off. He was trying to jump, but he knew it was going to be a quick play. It was worth two. It wasn't worth six. Everybody thinks that's a touchdown. This is a two-point conversion right here. Now, was it pretty important? Certainly. Certainly it was fourth quarter.

2:53:53Pat McAfee:He's one-on-one out there against their guy, too. So, obviously, it's what you bring Sauce Gardner in there. It's the German grass. Yeah. It's the German grass. He's used to poopy MetLife. And he got tripped up, too. I don't like that Drake London kicked his feet while he was running there. There was a little cheat in there. Sauce got his hands on the ball. It felt like throughout the game, got more comfortable. Everybody kind of got more comfortable. They're getting live reps. Like, hey, this is what we're going to do in this moment. This is what we're going to do in this moment. Because I said, it felt like through the game, like Sauce and the defense were figuring it out.

2:54:23Pat McAfee:That's really what it felt like. And if you think about when he got there, when he got cleared from concussion protocol, they had to travel to Germany. What's that like? Is there a walkthrough? There hasn't really been much for Sauce to kind of get involved. So I think real reps were really all they had. And at the beginning, it looked like there was a disconnect, and then it looked better. Him getting cooked there for the two-point conversion certainly sucks. Trey kicked his feet, so kind of cheating there. But I think he's a massive – and I think he had a great game.

2:54:47Adam Schefter:Yeah. So legitimate. For what he was dealing with, once again, I think to Sauce's standard, I don't think it's up to his standard, but he was dealing with a lot. I kind of give it a wash. Literally, if you're watching the game, you can see a lot of times whoever – it was Kenny Moore or Cam, whoever, you're communicating with him almost to the last second to make sure he's doing what he's doing. We talked about Lou Anaroma and all the moving parts in his defense, so trying to learn and playing that. Some people were trying to say the Drake London touchdown was on him. He wasn't. We'll maybe talk about that later in the week.

2:55:15Adam Schefter:But great play design. He made a great play when he dove and got that PBU set up. But those are the plays for Sauce throughout his career that you've got to make. You've got to make those good plays into great plays. You've got to have ball production, especially when an organization is giving up two first-round picks. But on the other side, next week, all pro money should be coming back. So seeing those two corners on the outside with Kenny Moore, Camp Bonham, Nick Cross, like we got pieces back there.

2:55:41Pat McAfee:Yeah, we're going to win a shoot, boy, Jay. It's good news. And on the other half of that tweet, does feel like the Jets are certainly creating something special over there with Aaron Glenn. To Kirk Herbstreit's point, though, played the Browns and the Bengals. Yep. Okay, played the Browns and the Bengals, which got to win games. That's not your fault. But on that note, I love that they're honoring your friend. Legit. Oh, yeah. feels like he's a part of it. Oh, yeah. He definitely is. I mean, this was awesome. They made some really sweet shirts and hats too for him. Yeah, his family was there.

2:56:08I mean, I'm sure it was awesome in the stadium for this. But yeah, they, believe me, Nick is, you should have seen the police presence at his funeral. All the biker cops. There's like 40 biker cops leading us everywhere. They came out in the jet security. Everyone there, they loved that dude. So it was awesome.

2:56:23Pat McAfee:It feels like, and that's Ohio State legend there, right? What's his name? Yeah, Rucker. Rucker, great mustache on him. Rucker. Tight end. Yeah, Rucker at the tight end with a great mustache. Fourth year out of Ohio State, wears the Mangold jersey on the way in. But it does feel like he's a part of it, you know? And that's cool. And I think that's good baby face for the Jets from outside in. Like, I like Nick Mangold. So the fact that you're honoring Nick Mangold and continuing to do that, like, we like that. And then Aaron Glenn and them having success, good for you guys over there at the Jets.

2:56:50Pat McAfee:Oh, yeah. You deserve it, man. You deserve it. Let's go to the next overreaction. It's from Casey Jones at KCKJones14. team. Hashtag I don't overreact, but it's time for B.A. to leave the Pat McAfee and get back to calling plays for the Bucs. This offense went from top of the league with an MVP QB to complete shite in a matter of weeks, and that's no B.S. We need B.A. Injuries or not, it's shite! Alright, well, ask B.A. if he wants to get back on the headset. I think towards the end of his career, he wasn't looking to do that, but I do think with Baker Mayfield, expectations are for their offense to be great right now.

2:57:25Adam Schefter:Absolutely, and this is the first First-year play caller for Baker. So the continuity thing. And then at this point in the season, you know, defenses want to take away some of the things that you do great. On top of that, you're missing a bunch of wide receivers. And Mekka Ibuka is going to be your number one target week in and week out. So defenses are going to key in on them. But coming into that game, Baker Mayfield was averaging 20 completions and 200 yards over a three-game span after that MVP start to the season. So I understand what he's saying. Getting Bucky Irvin back will be a big addition for this offense as well.

2:57:55Adam Schefter:I think that Buck's offense will be okay down the street.

2:57:58Pat McAfee:We love Tampa. Let's go to the next overreaction. It's from Lonely1993. It's going to be okay at Gordy2P. Hashtag I don't want to overreact. But while y 'all continue to yap about Drake May MVP, Chief Kingdom or Colts winning the Super Bowl, the real MVP contenders are in the Midwest. The Bears not only have the coach of the year, but MVP Caleb Williams. This is our year. Caleb looked like he was running 40 miles an hour around that edge to win that game. I mean, that was spectacular. This is the Caleb Williams shit from college that you wondered, is he going to be able to do this in the NFL when everybody's fast?

2:58:31Pat McAfee:Yeah, in November to win a game in the fourth quarter. He gets the edge in a huge way. What a win for the Bears. And it was chatted about already, but the Bears do a lot of coming back too. So I think the resolve and the grit of that team are certainly settling in. And every time we see the locker room afterwards, they're a real deal. Hey, the Bears are the real deal. And Ben Johnson is too, AJ. Yeah, they are. And, I mean, I think if you are a Bears fan, you've got to be most excited. Yeah, they didn't – a Bears offense didn't do a whole lot. And then, what, six, seven minutes ago in the fourth quarter, and they absolutely come alive.

2:59:00And Caleb, he had a huge, what, I think 90-some yard drive to lead him back. Like, when it matters, it seems like Caleb absolutely steps up.

2:59:08Adam Schefter:Good for the Bears. Yeah, back-to-back game. We've got Caleb and his offense. I believe he all had four game-winning drives this season. And, yeah, to your point, he looks fast as shit. Fast as shit.

2:59:18Pat McAfee:That edge was outrageous because you just assume it's terrible grass as well. You assume that the field is terrible. So the ability to get out there, make it throws, and the locker room, can't stress this enough, the locker room is awesome in Chicago. They like each other. It is very evident that they like each other. Maybe they go on a run in this NFC North and do their thing. Let's go to the next overreaction show. This is from BM at Bull Data. Hashtag I don't want to overreact, but the Ravens are going to the Super Bowl for real this time. And after yesterday, I can't wait to watch old man Rodgers and the Steelers' hopes and dreams burn to ash while we slow roast them over the fire we made with Mr.

2:59:54Pat McAfee:Steve's ping-pong tables. Love this. Now, listen, Budda and the entire Baltimore Ravens fans, Stavi, have to be excited. Beginning of the season, it was tough for Ravens fans. Oh, my God. Their defense was the worst in the league. People were pounding them. The offense couldn't do anything. We're supposed to be good. We're one in five. What the fuck? Sportsbooks were like, just wait. Just wait. Just wait. And now we're at the point this Ravens team is going to win the AFC North, and the Ravens are probably going to go on a run in the playoffs. D-Butt, did we expect this from the amount of talent on the team?

3:00:25Pat McAfee:What are your thoughts?

3:00:26Adam Schefter:We expect the Ravens to be an absolute wagon coming into the season, but honestly, at this point in the season, I would not put them in a Super Bowl contender. Whoa! I'll put them right in the bucket with the Buffalo Bills. Unbelievable quarterbacks, MVP talents, but just what the team has done around them up until this point, I don't see them really being real down the stretch. And that can change. When you have that type of talent and you have what I think good coaches on both sidelines, that can definitely change. But if I had to pick right now, if I had to only pick, let's say, five teams that could realistically win the Super Bowl this season, the Baltimore Ravens wouldn't be in that top five.

3:01:02You can make the argument that the biggest loss for any team this year has been Matabuke for Baltimore. Without him in the middle, their defense just isn't the same. Let alone run stop and pass rush and stuff. He's one of their leaders on that defense with Roquan Smith and Kyle Hamilton. So without him is one thing, but they're going to be just fine.

3:01:23Pat McAfee:Still the odds on favor to win the AFC North have been for a while. That's only growing. And yeah, we shall see if they're able to work it out. Let's go to the next overreaction. It's from ATL Josh at jcrackin24. Hashtag I don't want to overreact, but the Falcons are dead. Panics is trash. Raheem is clueless. And clearly, Arthur Blank's kids need to take over for them to ever be successful. A mildly competent coach in Matt Ryan out of retirement would have this team in the playoffs. AJ, your thoughts? I don't know if I fully agree with this overreaction. I mean, the Falcons are one of those teams, too.

3:01:56They ride the roller coaster, I feel like. They absolutely could have won. But, you know, I guess teams, until you get over that hump to prove that you are in the next tier, those are the games you win, I think. The Falcons obviously let this one slip away. Nine. Yeah, they were never going to win that game. Okay, they were never going to win that game out there.

3:02:13Pat McAfee:The Colts were going to win that one the entire time. But I will say this. Falcons were playing good. Like, Falcons were playing very good. I mean, that defense was everywhere. Their defense is relentless. Yeah, their defense, they – I don't know how many sacks – they got a ton of sacks and tons of pressure. Like, they can – obviously, stopping the run is another issue. Guy's bleeding from his mouth. Guy's bleeding from his mouth, quarterback. You know, obviously, Jonathan Taylor runs for 250, so that kind of goes against everything about saying they have a good defense. This is so great. But Daniel Jones' mouth is bleeding because he was getting hit.

3:02:41Pat McAfee:I mean, the Atlanta Falcons played good football, I thought, in the morning, which is why I was so excited about the win. I'm like, we caught the Atlanta Falcons on a day where they were playing very well. Like, they were playing very – offensively, I thought, obviously, you have some changes you have to make. Penix made a couple good throws, missed a couple that weren't good. Some bad decisions took place. But I thought the Falcons were playing good, so whenever we get the win, I'm, like, excited about it. And then all anybody said was it was the Falcons. It was the Falcons. It's like, it's a fucking NFL team.

3:03:06It's a good team.

3:03:06Pat McAfee:Yeah. It's an NFL team. They are a good team. I think the Colts are going to the Colts. That's a game that maybe in the past they lose, don't you think? A game like that, when you're not – you don't know how to win. You're not used to winning. Those are the games you let slip away, and you think about after the season, all what could have been. No, the Colts figured it out, and they got to win, and you get to have a nice, fun, long plane ride home, obviously. Oh, that had to be so much better than a fucking foul. Can you imagine every coach and player just so happy they won? Like, oh, yeah. We flew back to London after a loss.

3:03:35I was on about 170 milligrams because I had to eat all this stuff.

3:03:39Pat McAfee:But, yeah, it was an interesting vibe on the way back. I didn't know we were going through the actual airport. We're going through Heathrow? What? Can't go through Heathrow. They got actual scanners there, right? Yeah. Oh, no. I've seen it locked up abroad. Got to make these disappear. All right, I'm going to go through. Just got to eat them all. I'm going to throw them away. Well, there's a cop literally sitting right next to the trash can up there in the front of the bus. All right. Vinny, you want to help me here? What do you need to do? I need to make all these disappear. By when? How far is the airport?

3:04:16We're like five minutes out. We got five minutes to make this disappear. Jesus. I don't know, bud. All right. Fuck it. Gone. As soon as we get there, off the bus, right into the check-in, long line to get our bags through there. And just every moment that passes, I'm just starting to take off to a different altitude. And Vinatieri's like, I got you, buddy. I'll get you in a plane. Thank you. That boarding pass was there. Yeah, so then we go through the thing. My bag obviously gets selected. Okay, they check my bag. So I have to go wait around the thing. Vinny's like, I'll wait with you. Thank you, sir.

3:04:50Fucking gone. Eyes have no idea what my eyes look like. Everybody sees it in my eyes every day, I think. So, you know, could be anything. Was so loaded with excuses. I'm tired, super tired. We just play a full football game. Shit, man. Yeah. I was going through it all, especially in that moment.

3:05:05Pat McAfee:You're going through everything. And my immediate thought is, oh, no, I left some in the bag somewhere. There's some in that bag somewhere. I ate a lot, though. I don't know, but maybe there's some in that bag. They got through. It turns out it was just like toothpaste or something. Like, you can't have this. I'm like, yeah, I know. You want me to eat it? So then I kind of go back, go all the way to our gate. I don't have a boarding pass somewhere in the process. I lost my boarding pass, so I have no idea where that is. They have to print out another one at the thing. So I'm standing at the thing.

3:05:35Pat McAfee:Everybody of the Indianapolis Colts is boarding the fucking plane. I'm just standing there. After a loss, too. That's a much different situation after a loss than a win. You see Pat over there, too. He's like, oh, shit. What happened? I'm not getting arrested. If you win, it's funny. And they're fist bumping you. So if you lose, you just head down. Everyone's just like, oh, here we go. And I think there's starting to be some buzz about what was possibly taking place. Shout out to Vinatieri. He never left me. Vinatieri sat over there. He was making fun of me while everybody else was making fun of me.

3:06:02This guy lost his boarding pass. I'm like, Vinny, shut the fuck up. I could be trying to get some gum over here or something like that.

3:06:08Pat McAfee:He goes, everybody kind of sees it. So it was a whole scene for us. And then on the plane, obviously, we just lost. So it's just like you leave second because you lost in an international game. And also it's a long-ass flight back. And it's like the next week's fucked because everything's scheduled. It's just winning that game has to be so much better. I've never experienced it, but it has to be so much better.

3:06:28Adam Schefter:My rookie year, we went over to London and played the Bucs, and we won. And, yeah, it was a fun ride. That would have been a great play. Oh, yeah, for sure. But on that note, traveling and shit, shout out to TSA and all the people that's been showing up because it's been a shit show in these airports. People have to be showing up, not getting paid and shit, you know, with the government shutdown and all that. So shout out to them doing their best. Absolutely. And I believe, right, we had some real progress in the entire world over the last 24 hours. That's good news. Hopefully that's within the next couple of days.

3:06:58Adam Schefter:Yeah, it's crazy to think about what is all dependent upon stuff. Especially this time of year, like Thanksgiving right around the corner. And also how dangerous it all is. Legit. You know. Yeah, I see. When the pilot comes on and says, hey, we got to wait because air traffic control, you know, they're cutting down 20 % of blah, blah. It's like, all right. Okay. So are we just eyeballing this thing? So are we able to land? Yeah, you are. Okay. All right. Sounds good.

3:07:24Pat McAfee:Yeah. Shout out to everybody giving our time for the good of society. Wild time. I believe there is going to be a payback on the back end if what I read is accurate. So, you know, do the right thing. Hopefully you get rewarded in the end. But even if you don't, doing the right thing is the right thing to do. Hell yeah. Last overreaction. This is from Boltsfan, Roka92. Hashtag I don't want to overreact, but Justin Herbert is the MVP. No other quarterback could survive behind a line built from other teams' scrap piles like the Chargers and keep getting the Ws. We saw the PFF ranks, brother. We know what you're saying.

3:07:56Pat McAfee:And Herbert is an incredible, incredible quarterback to lead a team that has this particular problem. He's very tough, and he doesn't say anything negative about anything. Super positive, always on to the next one. Incredibly tough, incredibly athletic, incredibly talented. Chargers get a huge win on Sunday Night Football, and I'm a believer in hardball football, and I'm a believer in this Chargers team. Can they win the Super Bowl? 38 out of 38 at tackle.

3:08:24Adam Schefter:Absolutely not. I don't think so. Is he out for the year? I think so. And Slater's out. Slater's out for the year for sure. I don't know if Zion Johnson is. It's going to be tough. We always look at AQ's trenches and those teams. Those are ones that usually go. He got sacked five times last night. Well, Deculis is out there getting shit-talked before the game even starts by graphics. Bullshit. What do you think he's going to do? Hey, boys, way to get a win over there. They said it was impossible with how bad you guys were. Yeah. That's what PFF said.

3:08:51Pat McAfee:Not us. We're believers. Pick the Chargers, I believe. All right. We're going to get out of here. Tomorrow we'll be live from Paris Island. Historic day tomorrow. Big time show. We're going to be enjoying the opportunity to honor and thank our country's veterans who have signed a line to say, we'll go do it if it has to happen. We'll be the ones. Badass individuals. We can't thank them enough. We'll try to tomorrow. Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice. It might change your life. We're in this thing together. Team on me. Team on three. Good luck tonight, boys. Packers, Eagles, take it home.

3:09:19One, two, three. Team. Goodbye. Goodbye.
