Key claims
- McCarthy says camp will be physical but not tackling-to-the-ground; the show frames this as “fresh juice” and accountability.
- Steelers fans are portrayed as desperate for a Super Bowl; Rodgers/Watt/Hayward returning raises expectations.
- Cincinnati: Bengals emphasize defensive tenacity and interior pass rush; offense aims for more balance and more explosive runs (Chase Brown).
- Cleveland: Browns quarterback competition centers on Deshaun Watson vs. younger QBs (Dylan Gabriel, Taylor Green) under new offensive direction from Todd Monken; defense expects to remain elite despite losing Myles Garrett.
- Baseball: Dodgers’ contract deferrals and spending are argued to make the league “rigged” and likely to trigger a lockout.
Notable examples
- Steelers camp: “first day of pads” and a live “two-minute operation”/two-minute drill planned in the 1 o’clock hour.
- Bengals: Jamar Chase and Joe Burrow are shown practicing connection (“absolute dot”).
- Browns: Watson is described as still working back after time off; deep balls are emphasized daily.
- Steelers: Pat Freiermuth is referenced for saving a child during an on-field scrum.

0:14Ah yeah we're live from Leitrode Pennsylvania the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers training camp for 58 seasons now. Now, we had no idea how this was going to turn out. We're talking torrential downpour and storms yesterday. The fact that the baseball team here at St. Vincent has allowed us to take up some spots in their outfield. We are very grateful. We are going to be chit-chatting about ball being all the way back and absolutely beautiful. It's the first day of pads here in La Trobe, Pennsylvania for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now, there's a lot of question marks because Mike McCarthy came out and said, I'm not tackling.
0:55Like, we're not tackling. So the Ingers said, yeah, this guy's from Pittsburgh. He's got a Yinzer accent. He loves Pittsburgh. He's living with his parents back home again, actually. But since he's gone to Green Bay and Dallas, this guy's gotten a little bit soft. That's what the Pittsburgh people say. We're not tackling. So then Mike McCarthy says, hold on now. I didn't say this wasn't going to be a physical football camp. It's going to be a physical camp, but we're not taking guys down to the ground. With our roster right now and where we're headed, we feel very good. And I think the physicality is going to show today.
1:30I think Mike McCarthy is about the details, the attention, the accountability, you name it. And the boys are going to want to bump and thump, especially for the lads who have shown up to watch them. Now, this fan base is a diehard one. They're invested in every single second, every single move, every single decision. Whenever the Steelers win, this city is happy. Whenever the Steelers lose, this city is not. It's been winning seasons for the last 18 years, but it hasn't really felt like a Super Bowl was within the grasp. Is a first-year Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, Mike McCarthy, going to be able to do it with Aaron Rodgers coming back?
2:07With T.J. Watt coming back?
2:13With Cam Hayward coming back? Friar Muth, Boswell, you name it. There are names that these Yenziers have known and come to love over the years. But have they won a Super Bowl for Pittsburgh? No. Is Mike McCarthy the guy that can have them do it? We shall see this season, and it all starts today. First day of pads as that horn just blew down on field one. We'll have a two-minute operation happening in the 1 o 'clock hour. There's good on good taking place, not just here, but a lot of places around the NFL landscape. football is all the way back and for that we will celebrate the shit out of I will tell you that yeah we'll be going around the entire AFC North today we'll be talking to reporters in Cincinnati and that guy's got an orange shirt on guys got an orange shirt on it's for Bullskin a 10U baseball team out of Connellsville they won the entire thing wearing orange is tough because not only at Cincinnati, but also we'll be visiting with reporters in Cleveland, Ohio.
3:22And then obviously. Cleveland sucks! Cleveland sucks! Cleveland sucks! Cleveland sucks! Cleveland sucks! Cleveland sucks! I will say. Cleveland sucks! Now you are taught to think that since birth here in Pittsburgh. And in Cleveland, it's the same for Pittsburgh. But the team that used to be in Cleveland actually moved. and we'll be live with Ian Rappaport, live from Baltimore Ravens.
3:50We don't know. I've heard that guy. Pat Fryermuth, obviously, the other day, saved a child from a scrum amongst yinzers. And I'll tell you, it was indicative of everything that this could possibly be. Pat Fryermuth being a superhero, a couple of yinzers getting excited, than one helmeted Yinzer speaking to both parties very loudly and clearly through the camera.
4:14Pat McAfee:But this is not just happening here in Pittsburgh or in Latrobe. It's happening everywhere. And today should be fun as we bounce around. We'll also have Coach Mike McCarthy join us after practice. Aaron will join us. TJ will join us. Cam will join us. Omar Khan, the general manager, will join us. Brett Kiesel will join us. And of course, correspondent for the Pat McAfee Show for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mark Caboli. Biggest pop. I don't know if they booed him or not. I feel like we're going to learn a lot. The toxic tables here at Boston Corner and at Ty Schmidt. Con man, it always feels good to get back into football.
4:49It feels like this might become an annual tradition of us starting to feel it for the first time. Last year, whenever we came here, they had to set up on a hill a little bit. It was a dangerous situation. There's people falling. We move over here to the baseball field. Torrential downpour yesterday. Shout out to the baseball field. Shout out to people coming and hanging out with us. But last year, whenever we watched practice, it was after our show. Now it's happening during our show. We were kind of surprised by the lack of juice that was kind of out there. It's really hot. It's training camp.
5:15Everything's terrible. Feels like the building, though, from what we've heard, new fresh voice in there. Not that it's a knock on Tomlin, but anytime there's a fresh voice, fresh ideas, everybody kind of has a little fire lit up under their ass, Conman. That's what it feels like here with the Steelers. Yeah, 37 days to NFL football, you mentioned. But we talked to Mike McCarthy all year last year. I mean, he might be in there quoting Galileo like he did. The things that he's probably saying, the new kind of angle at everything's fantastic. Pats are pads. It feels like no matter what, there will be some sort of juice.
5:42But I know the fans brought it. I mean, we're walking down to the set today, and some kid tells me right away, boom, you don't know ball. Okay? You don't know anything about football. I thought that was fantastic. A couple people saying, take the hat off. That's never going to happen. But it is wonderful because you can feel it. You can almost smell it. I don't know what it is. But being in La Trobe, a football time, time for a football time. Well said. If that makes sense, of course. Thank you. It does just feel fresh. It feels new. And I just can't wait for 2026. Shout out to Sharky's last night.
6:11And then again, Sharky's making an appearance this morning. Also stopped by Eaton Park. Got some smiley cookies. Love everything about that. We've got Pittsburgh Steelers black and gold, black and yellow smiley cookies available now at Eaton Park. Shout out to Cheyenne up here in Laetrobes, Eaton Park. That place was closed at 11. We got there at 1056.
6:32Pat McAfee:Okay, plenty of time. Yeah, Cheyenne opened her back up for us. We're obviously very appreciative of that. It does feel like ball is back. You talk about having a Patriots hat on. I saw a German man traveled in here with a Green Bay Packers jersey on as well. So, you know, football is being represented well. Ty Schmidt, the Packers, looked to win it all this year. Were you surprised to see the German fellow wearing the Packers jersey out here? No, I was. I'm going to be honest.
6:55Aaron Rodgers:No, yeah, definitely. Definitely. You know, but again, we're trying to grow the game. You know, we got international football more than we ever have before. And I don't know, I think he's kind of just feeling how I am. Listen, I don't want to put a damper on anything the Steelers are doing here because I love coming to La Trobe. I really do. And it's crazy how you mentioned it. It feels like we were here like two years ago. I mean, it feels so long. It's been right around a year. It's crazy how much can actually change in a year. A lot of similar faces. But, you know, I mean, it feels like a completely new football team.
7:24Aaron Rodgers:I'll tell you what, I really do feel like this is the Packers year. I'm sorry to Steelers fans. Maybe we'll see you guys in the Super Bowl. We'll see. But I love what I'm seeing out of camp so far. I'm sure Steelers fans do as well. But I really do feel like this is the Packers year. And I'm sure that German fellow does as well. He said, guten tag. I said, ein gross beer, bitte.
7:42Pat McAfee:And then I told him to go on and fluke zoik his way out of here. Sure. Because this is Pittsburgh Steelers training camp. Speaking of that, let's go to one half of the hammer. Done. Oh, they hit it. Cowboys, AP Tone. Tone, great to get back and see the Steelers. I saw you. You're kind of neb-nosing all around this morning. We're trying to get a little bit more information about what's going on with this team. What have you learned? How do you feel? And how exciting is it to be back here at Steelers training camp for you? Yeah, obviously, this is my job. This is my profession. But at heart, I am a Steelers fan.
8:11So, yeah, I was Neb-nosing around. I was watching the walkthroughs earlier. I was watching the offensive defense. Not a lot of special teams going on out there. Christian Koontz was being a little bit lackadaisical. Wasn't working very hard. He's the only snapper in camp, too.
8:24Pat McAfee:Pittsburgh legend, Chartier Valley, Duquesne. I think he's got some records at Duquesne. Yeah, he leads an all-time leader in sacks at Duquesne University. And he's a long snapper for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dog has a great accent. A lot of pizzazz. Good moxie. A lot of pizzazz on this guy. But I was just taking it all in. And while I was taking it in, the hair was standing up in my arms. It kind of feels like seven is coming home this year. And I'm not talking about Ben Roethlisberger because he decided to make this his home. I'm talking about the seventh Lombardi trophy coming home this year.
8:51The detail that Mike McCarthy is developing in these guys this year. Detail. I know what you wanted to do. It's unbelievable. Big Mike came home to bring seven home, and I'm pretty sure that's going to happen this year.
9:04Pat McAfee:It feels like it around the building. There's obviously a lot of good vibes, a lot of new vibes. And if you look at coaches and quarterbacks who have been paired together in wins, you know, obviously you think Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, that's unbelievable. You know, Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers only have 107 wins together. Pretty good. Mike McCarthy comes back to Pittsburgh, obviously. They don't want to do a full rebuild, so they don't go with young coach. They don't try to fire everybody. They don't have to do that. They like their team. Mike Tomlin decides to step away after 18 years, an incredible run.
9:31Pat McAfee:Mike McCarthy comes in here. Aaron Rodgers, is he going to stay? Is he not going to stay? Well, he came out and said his wife said he's allowed to have another year. And Mike McCarthy certainly helps the entirety of it all. He knows the offense inside and out. He loves the offense inside and out. They got weapons. Darius, I know that we're obviously very heavy here, Steelers, at the beginning. And we'll certainly show highlights from all around the NFL here in a matter of moments. But why not the Pittsburgh Steelers? that really is a question that I'm starting to ask myself as I'm here. Whenever I wasn't here, first year coach, I mean the AFC, tough.
10:04Especially with Daniel Jones back healthy. Sure, sure. In Indianapolis. Steelers fans are scared to death of the Indianapolis Colts. I know that. That's never come out of anyone's power. I know that. Yep. I know that you guys have nightmares of the horseshoe running wild. They beat us by like 50, 60. A lot of hoops. Yeah, it was a bad matchup for us. Also, we don't know what was going on the night before.
10:29Pat McAfee:Maybe some yinzer antics were potentially taking place with our team. Who knows? We all know that Danny Smith had Antonio Brown out there to return a punt with four minutes left, up 28-7. So Steelers may be unethical ball there for a little bit against the Indianapolis Colts. But as we get here and we start remembering what this Pittsburgh Steelers team can be, who they can be, nine-year NFL vet Darius J. Butler. It's hard not to get excited about this team. Actually, defensive side as well. Absolutely. You always start with the quarterback, head coach and quarterback, and obviously you got a chance with Aaron Rodgers.
11:00But when I think about Pittsburgh Steelers football, the first thing I think about is defense. So you got Cam Hayward. You got T.J. Watt. You obviously got J.P.J., who's probably looking for some money this year. Rightfully so. Jalen Ramsey, what does he do? He's got a back. Yeah, he's got a back. Maybe it's a training camp contract back. But he's a baller. He's put together a great season last year. He's put together a great young career. So I'm excited to see his next chapter. But his defense, Patrick Graham coming over, For somebody I'm very familiar with, I'm excited to watch the first day in pass.
11:26Because we were here last year, and we remember the first day. And the lack of juice. I don't know what it was. It was weird, wasn't it? It was weird. It was odd. But now being back, we were talking earlier pre-show of like, hey, do you still miss it? At 40, no, I don't miss it much. But around training camp time, this is the time. You're watching the walkthrough. Watching the walkthrough, seeing the adjustments, seeing all the players talking to coaches. I'm excited to see what we see today, especially that two-minute drill we have later.
11:50Pat McAfee:Yeah, 1 o 'clock, there will be a two-minute drill live. Offense versus defense, first day of pads. Mike McCarthy calling plays into Aaron Rodgers. Who will be the second-string quarterback? Who will be in that conversation? Will Hart. A lot of Drews. I don't know. Is that Aller or Hart? Not a lot of Masons. We want Will. We want Will. We want Will. Okay. Will Hart is one of the people already. Yeah, he is. Will Howard is once in a while. That's Bill Howard, baby. Now, I will say Mason Rudolph has done a lot of good for the Pittsburgh Steelers as well. Drew Owler gets drafted very high. Higher than a lot of people get to the Pittsburgh Steelers about the future.
12:31Pat McAfee:He is a Penn Stater, so, you know, there's a lot of that happening here in this particular place. But also, I think people thought Will was going to be the next guy. They thought everybody was going to hand off. Obviously, new head coach. Obviously, you know, new ideas, new everything. How can we make the most out of our picks? He's looked good from what we've seen. We've only seen a few clips. Drew's looked good. Will is beloved. I mean, Will Howard is beloved for good reason, by the way. Whenever we were here in the offseason, Will Howard was who they were waiting for outside to go into the Pittsburgh Penguins game.
13:01Pat McAfee:I think it was like TJ and everybody. I think at the Pittsburgh Penguins game, Will Howard was the one in the middle operating almost as if he was quarterback of the team. I think the city has seen that. I think the locker room has seen that. But Drew Allard, with what he potentially could become, with Mike McCarthy, a quarterback whisperer, talking to him with how tall he is and how talented he could potentially be. Future's certainly bright. And then Mason Rudolph, hey, that old dog can get it done. Or a lot, boy. Yes, he can. Here's a live look at the quarterbacks getting after a little bit of a warm-up.
13:30Pat McAfee:First day of pads. Will hired nearest to us there, obviously. Aaron Rodgers got a cool lean, which leads to college football national champion, Super Bowl champion, Ryder Cup winner. Ladies and gentlemen, former president of the great state of Ohio. AJ Hawk. Hey, Paco. Paco. AJ Hawk. AJ Hawk. AJ Hawk. AJ Hawk. AJ Hawk. I bet you can imagine Coach Mike, if he hears that, what are we doing? What are we doing down there? I didn't know we brought a circus in, Tom. It's an AJ Hawk circus? I don't know. Let's talk about Mike. Let's talk about Aaron. There's a lot of photos of Aaron and Mike kind of hugging up on each other.
14:12Pat McAfee:Obviously, when you were at the Packers, they were together. That was the beginning of your entire career. 107 of those wins. You probably saw all of them, if I had to guess. Aaron and Mike, at this stage, what should they be expecting? And what should everybody in maybe the league be thinking? Because I don't think anybody's like Aaron Rodgers going to win a Super Bowl with the Steelers outside of Pittsburgh. Outside of Steelers fans, which obviously is huge. Do you think that's very wrong? And why do you think Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers potentially at this time for the Pittsburgh Steelers is perfect, if you feel that way?
14:39I don't think it's out of the, you know, it's definitely a possibility for them to go on a run and find a way to get hot in the playoffs and do that. I've seen how special Aaron is, and I know what it means for Coach Mike to be here. We would joke about it all the time. Every single team meeting, every single meeting before a game, like the Saturday night meeting, McCarthy would mention something about Pittsburgh, some street he grew up on, some young kid driving a dump truck that he used to know. All of these Pittsburgh stories that I'm sure he probably continues to tell these guys now, and Aaron has heard a bunch of them.
15:07But I think if there's something about it, I don't know, something about being here, too. This is like its own country. It's the only little world. You drive up here. I would imagine these people in a good way, I'm saying. I think it's awesome. Pittsburgh alone is, but when you get to La Trobe in this college, I don't know what it is. I've only been here a couple of times now, but I understand why they keep coming back. I love the people that travel up for training camps. Yeah. Come people full pass up there. Different breed. Really? Different breed. Full pass. Training camp crowds are the best.
15:34Hey, good to see you guys. Hell yeah. Good to see you guys. By the way, I had an inside source tell me that Mike's first meeting, he may have shown a video of how they make steel in the city just to make sure the team knew exactly where they were coming.
15:46Pat McAfee:I think he showed them the football time. I think he potentially did to let them know what this place is, what it means to this city. And as their practice continues, I think people will be meandering around St. Vincent, obviously. There's hills everywhere, and we appreciate the hell out of the opportunity. Oh, it's got two coppers right up there. If you guys want to smoke marijuana or something, don't do it. because they're watching you. Those guys right there are watching you. Now, if you go up behind that building, from my understanding, I think there's a couple people that have been up there.
16:13Pat McAfee:So just something to think about. Before we get back to NFL training camp highlights that have been happening all around the NFL, and it's a beautiful thing that this is what my algo is, we have to cover some stuff that has happened in other sports as well. Baseball is dead. What do you mean? It's time. Trade deadline is – forget about it. All the people that know baseball – Sell the team! Sell the team! Sell the team! Sell the team! Okay. A mixture of the two. Okay, so... Sell the team! Sell the team! Okay, so the Sell the Team chant comes from the Pittsburgh Pirates fans that are here. And as soon as Paul Skeens got drafted to the Pittsburgh Pirates and then debuted as a young lad and go on to win the titles, everybody in Pittsburgh was just like, it stinks because it's been good to see it, dude.
16:58Pat McAfee:almost acting like they were the Indianapolis Indians, which is the AAA team for the Pittsburgh Pirates. That's how the Pittsburgh Pirates fans were immediately acting. I know. The Indianapolis. That's their name. That kid's got a jersey right there. We're going to keep it moving to you. Indianapolis commanders. Everybody in Pittsburgh's immediate response to Paul Skeen's being as good as he is is, oh, this guy's never going to be a Pirate for the rest of his career. He's going somewhere else. And that leads to a conversation that is happening around the broader scope of baseball. The Pittsburgh Pirates fans aren't the only fans that feel that way.
17:29Pat McAfee:There's a lot of smaller markets, smaller cap teams that feel as if the game, the league is completely rigged against them. Yes, every owner could spend, but clearly the Pittsburgh Pirates owner is not going to, you know, he's not going to be doing it. And there's a lot of other owners that are like that. So this new CBA negotiator, they want this guy to sell the team. They're not the only ones. There's a lot of teams, fan bases that feel that way. And allegedly, from what I was being told, if Scoobal was to go to the Dodgers and they were to somehow pick him up, trade, win another time, sign him to a deal, do a deferral payment, do this entire thing, it basically guarantees that a lockout's going to be happening next year because the fans are going to now say, hey, this is even more proving the point, that there needs to be a floor, which I think everybody in Pittsburgh would love if there was a floor that the owner had to pay.
18:16Pat McAfee:And then the cap, okay, if that's going to be able to stop the Los Angeles Dodgers from buying up every good player and winning, we'll suddenly be in with that. Players are saying the league's very healthy. The game's healthy. Everybody likes it. Why would we change anything? This is a capitalistic society. If they want to pay us that amount of money, that's what it is. And this is how it's always been in baseball. So tell me why, Ty, Scoobal going to the Dodgers is basically a hammer to a nail into a coffin of baseball for next season.
18:45Aaron Rodgers:You did a pretty good job. I think a big part is that because the idea is that this is already the best team. There's a bunch of stuff that's coming out now with when the Dodgers went bankrupt, you know, like a decade ago that they worked out some sort of deal with the MLB. So they get tax money that no other team gets. So they already are operating with like, you know, around like$100 million more than other teams kind of have access to. But it's really what you mentioned. Like they are able to get all these good players because they're working within the system. They are deferring all these contracts.
Read the full transcript
19:18Aaron Rodgers:We talked about, like, the Brewers and the Rays, who are two small market teams, lower payrolls, who would have got Scoobal for a rental. And then the idea was that regardless of what happened this season, he was going to go sign with the Dodgers, and he was going to sign a massive contract, and he was going to defer money. So they can keep kind of just adding all these all-star players, and they're not paying these guys until – or they're paying them until 2043. I think an idea is that maybe some of these, like, general managers and stuff like that, it's not just owners want a salary cap as well, because it's gotten to the point where it makes their jobs easier.
19:50Lowest ERA since 2022. You have Scooball, 2.46. Blake Snell, 2.61. Shohei Otani, 2.65. The Yoshinoba Yamamoto, 2.70. Four out of the top five best pitchers since 2022 are all now members of the Dodgers because they're spending more money than everybody else. Connor, it's rigged against the Pirates. Yeah, a little bit. It definitely is. And I think the owner could spend the money, though. So it's kind of on the owner, which is what the players are saying. Probably could have. But I'm sure the Tigers probably think the same thing as the Pirates. And I think that's why they did this. Like, no matter whether there was a deal or not that was better than the one, because basically everyone said, hey, those three players that the Dodgers had to trade all stunk anyways, which is kind of crazy when you think about it.
20:38But I almost think that the Detroit Tigers said to themselves, hey, we need a salary cap, too. Let's just ship this guy, start the lockout. Everyone will be pissed at the Dodgers. They won't be pissed at the Tigers. And then we can kind of figure it out from there. But it does feel as though this inevitably will benefit more teams than it hurts because this is ridiculous.
20:55Pat McAfee:Yeah, it does feel a little bit ridiculous. But to the Dodgers fans, enjoy it, man. Nice, yeah. If your team was just buying up every good player, this is what the Yankees used to be.
21:04Aaron Rodgers:Yeah. They didn't defer the contracts, though, I think, which is what a lot of people. So you guys did a little bit. They had to pay that bill right away. You couldn't just go buy every single of the best player in the league, give them a million bucks and say, don't worry about it. we're going to pay you through 2072.
21:18Pat McAfee:Millions of money and future deferred money. The Dodgers currently have$1.112 billion. Jesus. And then the Mets have$181 million. That's second. I mean. Okay, yeah. That's a little bit of a gap. This lays it out right here. Okay, good luck, baseball. Good luck. Seems like next summer. Good run. We got the Women's World Cup. Yeah. We got the WNBA. Maybe. Okay, maybe. Banana ball. Yeah. Little League World Series. Why does the WNBA even exist, by the way? Why does it even, I don't know, that's a whole other question. I mean, I love where we're at. It's a great league. What do you mean? No, I agree.
21:51That's what I'm saying. 30 years in, but why was it ever created? That should just be a question that's asked. Women in the league. Duh. Hello. Yeah, but 30 years in. I don't know. Up and to the right. Up and to the right. Good luck out there. Good luck. But anyways, that's next offseason, strictly because the MLS decided to move their schedule, actually. Yeah. They decided to move their schedule. So we don't even have MLS. We don't even have Messi. We don't even have Messi next summer. That's what's coming. Move it back. Baseball's done. And I don't like to say that because I thought a deal could be made by these two.
22:27But boy, would the Dodgers just every good player and 1.1 billion. What if for some reason the Dodgers don't win at all this year? They just got swept by the Red Sox. Yeah, they did. I'm saying obviously everyone's penciling them in as champs. But what if they are not the champs? Does that somehow save them not having a lockout? That's a good push. Town Diggs, you see that sign right behind you? Our Lady of Joy, that one?
22:47Pat McAfee:Hey, Pat McAfee, my mom taught you at Our Lady of Joy CCD. Nice. God bless. Good for you. God bless. You went to your seven cigs? I thought you were like me where sometimes your friend brought you to CCD. That's, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What's CCD? Catholic Church District School. Saturday morning, I think, right? Yep. A lot of soccer on Saturday. Saturday morning? Yeah. It was all school. Good luck. Hey, it was all the elementary schools, though. It was the only place, really, that all the elementary schools went. So, you know, you got a chance to see people from other schools, you know. You guys love ball.
23:18That was a little league football time. Wrong season, bro. I think it was in spring. Oh, I forgot you guys. No, I went. We'd wear our football pants. I'm from Florida. We wear our pants. Yeah, I'd CCD. I'd start until like noon. I'd wear cleats and pants and then go straight to the game of practice.
23:30Pat McAfee:You got to remember, up here it's not 10 ,000 degrees at noon like you guys have down there. That's when you start dick hockey and shit like that. That too. Yeah. What other sports do you think? What other sports are you thinking? Out here? Yeah. What do they play? I thought it was a football time. Thank you. Okay, thank you. You watch the football time. Hey, there's a lot of people in a truck right now saying, D-Button needs to shut down. Nick, all right, Nick. That's exactly what it is. Okay, we are here at Steelers training camp. Lucky to do as such. But I think we should go camping. Don't you think we should go camping?
23:59Yeah, I do think we should go camping. Hey, let's go camping, shall we? Let's head to the Cincinnati Bengals training camp. SMU alumni, a man who covers the Bengals for ESPN. And ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Ben Baby. Yeah, Ben Baby. Hell yeah. I got to correct you off jump, though. I teach at SMU. I went to North Texas. So a bit of a difference. That's on me. That's on me. Sorry, we did have researchers do that. And researchers named Carter. And up, Ben. Listen, I don't need angry calls from the alma mater saying you ain't repping us properly. So go Mean Green. I respect that. I understand.
24:36Home of Joe Mean Green, by the way. Home of Joe Mean Green. Good luck with Neil Brown this year.
24:41Pat McAfee:Okay, we like that. Neil Brown's the new head coach. He was wearing a backpack for the University of Texas the last three years. He should be phenomenal for North Texas. We like the mean green. We also appreciate that you're joining us. Okay, you're live from Cincinnati Bengals training camp. The only thing we've really seen is multiple fights. Can you tell me if that is kind of a difference in the defensive edge coming into this year, or what is the big storyline for you right now? Yeah, I think that defensive tenacity is something that they've been talking about a ton. And it's funny, when all this was going down, I mean, Jamar Chase was where I'm sitting last week, and he was talking about it.
25:12I've never seen that from Jalen Davis, that they were wanting to draw a little bit from DJ Turner. And in talking to these guys and Brian Cook, their new safety, they wanted to come out and kind of set that intensity. And they said, listen, you can't be pushed around in this league. You've got to be a physical defense, and they feel like they've really upped the ante this year. You know, I was just in the locker room just a few minutes ago on the other side of that wall talking to linebacker Barrett Carter, and he said he feels like they're just now hitting their floor, and that floor is quite high.
25:39They feel like they're making a lot of progress because they know they were not good last year and they've got to be better if they want to get back into the playoffs.
25:45Pat McAfee:We saw Joe Burrow throw an absolute dot to Jamar Chase. Feels like they're on fire. Obviously, the offense is expected to score 50, 60 points a game. Is that reality for Cincinnati? And is that how they're viewing it? Are we going to run the ball a little bit more? Are we going to be a little bit more balanced team, you think, Ben? Listen, Pat, I think we're going to be starting playing maybe a little more Midwestern football to a degree, potentially a nice balance between the run and the pass, which as a Texan I don't know if I love, but in the AFC North you've got to play ball a certain way and they've got to try to figure out a way to find that harmony between the run and the pass, something that's been talked about a ton.
26:19We've seen a lot of under center stuff in training camp. It's been a big topic of conversation. Now Joe Burrow, specifically a shotgun guy for the bulk of his career, he's preferred that a good amount. He did say, listen, we've adapted over the years and he's open to doing whatever the offense needs to be successful. And as teams try to take away Jamar Chase, take away T. Higgins, they've got to find a way to get Chase Brown those explosive plays on the ground, those explosive runs. They feel like that's what this team is missing, and they want to go out and be explosive again because when they were cooking in 2021 and 2022, they were hitting those big plays.
26:51They just haven't been there. And so this offseason, they're trying to manufacture those so they can get those playmakers and get them what they're doing, what they paid them for.
26:58Pat McAfee:We're talking about the Cincinnati Bengals here live from Pittsburgh Steelers training camp. Ben Baby, North Texas graduate, live with the Bengals. A.J. Hawk, Cincinnati Bengal legend, has a question for you, Ben. Yeah, Ben, we see Dexter Lawrence on the graphic that we pad on here a little bit ago. Could you explain, like, the impact he has had? We've seen clips of Ted Karras talking about how tough it is going up one-on-one against him in practice. But what's that defense look like with Dexter Lawrence there in the middle? Listen, that defense has been getting after it. I think the defense single-handedly probably won today, first day of pads.
27:28They were out there. Burrow talked about the other day that he can feel the pocket collapsing a little bit more. Talked about that on SportsCenter earlier in the weekend. And you can feel that difference. They wanted to go out and make that defensive line of strength. You know, and in talking to Barrett Carter, the linebacker, said, what's the funniest thing about having Dex on the defense? And he said, when Dex makes a big play, he'll just out here just start yelling in the middle of the play. I was like, you mean like he'll just like yell a boom or something. It's kind of like a rapper ad lib in the middle of a track.
27:55Like they just hear, that's how you know that Dex is cooking. and they feel like that defensive line, and it's not just him. They've got Jonathan Allen. They've got Boye Mafe, drafted Cassius Howell. I think Miles Murphy's going to have said, you know, when Shamar Stewart comes back healthy, they've got high expectations for him. They understand that you have to have a very deep and potent defensive line. And if they're going to do that, they've got to have that pass rush from the interior, something that I've been hearing about going back to the end of last season. So it was not a shock that when Dexter Lawrence was available, they were willing to trade the 10th overall pick to make sure this defense is where it needs to be so it can support all those playmakers on offense.
28:32I love, you know, I just love that they get rid of their best sacker. Yeah. And they're like, we got to get better on the D-line. Get the sacker out of here.
28:41Pat McAfee:And then bringing in Dexie, everybody's like, yeah, they did that. Yeah, they did. They actually accomplished that, which is wild. Tone Diggs, Pittsburgh Steelers AP voter, has a question for you. Yeah, Ben, when everyone talks about the Bengals, they do talk about the defense first and foremost. And the next thing that they talk about is can Joe Burrow stay healthy? Are they going to keep him upright? What's the additions there on the offensive line? How do they feel about that and Joe staying healthy for this year again? Yeah, you know, I think they feel like on paper, I was just talking to somebody recently, that on paper, this is a much better offensive line than they had when the Bengals were really good in 21 and 22.
29:12In fact, y 'all will enjoy this. When I was just in the locker room a few minutes ago, I was just sitting eavesdropping on Orlando Brown Jr. and Dalton Reisner, and they were just having a conversation. Dalton was munching on a little black cherry yogurt that they have on my food truck afterwards, and he's just munching, and they're having a conversation about how the defensive line was today. Orlando was talking about his sets, and they were going in and talking about different techniques, where they need to win at, where they feel like they can be better. And I asked Dalton, I'm like, you know, do you mind if I just kind of hang on and listen in for this conversation?
29:40He's like, yeah, of course. Told him I was going to come in here and talk about it with you all. And he said, you know, this is just a part of us being locked in. When you know that we are, you know, when you know who you're next to for the entirety of the time, you can go in and work on those little details. I mean, they spent a good five, ten minutes up until I left the room. They were just sitting there talking ball, talking techniques, and they feel like they can do a really good job. And I think one thing to note on this, I think Burrow also carries a lot of personal responsibility as well.
30:07I think he's got to be able to pick his spots on when to extend plays, when to know to check it down and when to see another down. I think that's going to be part of his progression. I know he's entering year seven, but I think that's an important part of it too. Like in the fight game, you've got to know when to pick your spots to really absorb contact. I think that's going to be a big thing for Burrow as he tries to find that next level for him as he tries to lead this team forward.
30:29Pat McAfee:Year seven's wild. Feels like just yesterday he was losing his head against Philadelphia Eagles. I saw yesterday like Lamar and Josh are year nine now. That's crazy. We're so old all of a sudden. And you talk about his progression. I do think he gets hit less than he did at the beginning. I mean, at the beginning it was the most reckless human I've ever seen on a football field. Maybe like Andrew Luck levels of trying to run people over. for Patrick Mahomes last season kind of actually. If Joey B's protected and able to spin it, everybody's scared of Cincinnati, including these Steelers fans here in Lake Tron.
31:00Ben, we appreciate you, brother. Appreciate y 'all. Sick hat, dude. Sick hat. It is. It's a good hat. It's camp season, Pat. You got to have good shade. You got to have good shade. Otherwise, you know, you're going to get cooked out here. The same amateur hour. Ben Baby! It is Ben Baby. You're the best, ladies and gentlemen. Ben Baby. Yay, baby! That'll bend baby.
31:23They love him. There's an eight-year-old man bowing him right here. Oh, come on. Makes sense. We like that Ovechkin sign on fire, by any chance. Ovechkin is better than God. Whoa. Whoa. Hey, Pat, the champs are here. Bullskin. Love that. Collinsville team. Pat McAfee and some guys. I do appreciate that sign. A lot of signs here. I forgot about the signs when we have, you know? Oh, yeah.
31:47Pat McAfee:Game day always has signs. I forget that ours always has signs as well. It's a good sign. And this guy normally shows up. Sneaky best part. No, that was the baseball team, Connellsville. They won the States, and then they went up to Long Island. They beat the hell out of the NFL. We're all Mustang signbackers. We are all Mustangs. Pat McAfee will return in Avengers Doomsday. Nice. Bullskins. State champs. I love that. Let us kick. Does game day have somebody take down inappropriate signs? Hi, Mom. How you doing? You bet. There's a mom on a FaceTime. I heard we go rip them in half or something.
32:14There's a mom on a FaceTime there if we could all wave to this thing. Hey, my mom. Hey, Mom. Hey, Mom. Where's Taco Bell? All right, let's move along. We're going to continue to travel around.
32:23Pat McAfee:You're talking about Youngstown, Bill? Yeah. Talking about Youngstown, Bill. We did run into a man. Well, a man kind of came up to us last night as we checked into our hotel here in town. He's from Youngstown. He had the biggest bag of Taco Bell that I've ever seen.
32:35Aaron Rodgers:He might be in a coma.
32:36Pat McAfee:We asked if he was bringing that for others, and he said, no, actually, my daughter chose not to come. This is just for me. Stop that. How much was it? That's Youngstown, Bill football. How much was the bag? He brought$2.50. It was this. I would say. He ordered extra. He brought like a. It was packed. Extra lettuce. It was packed to the gills. I think he did go with the lettuce because he wouldn't do all the dice. Two hands on the bottom. Force them to make him a triple double. We'd like to let Youngstown Bill know from the parking lot yesterday. Some are calling him Taco Bill. We appreciate his energy.
33:03Pat McAfee:Yeah. Legend. We needed that as soon as we got there. We appreciate him. Just like we appreciate all these people here in Pittsburgh. Let's stay in the AFC North. Ladies and gentlemen, let's head to Cleveland. Yeah! Governor Brown's for ESPN. Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now, Daniel Oye Fousey. Yeah, Daniel! Cleveland sucks! Cleveland sucks! Cleveland sucks! They're not talking about you, Mr. Oye Fousey. Am I saying that right, by the way, yes? You're getting it. You're getting it. A little harder than Ben Baby, but you got it. I just want to be respectful. Obviously, my name gets shit on all the time.
33:39Pat McAfee:Daniel Oye Fousey over there in Cleveland camp. Story of everything, maybe an NFL national story at this point, is the quarterback situation. We've seen Shador, obviously, ESPN Cleveland's Twitter account, keeping up-to-date stats, not giving us much context, but certainly letting us know what's happening every single day. We appreciate that account doing it. We believe that Shador's obviously has a spark, brought a lot to Cleveland last year. Deshaun Watson, though,$240 million guaranteed. If he wants to play, he's going to play. Is Dylan Gabriel the best quarterback they've got? Tell us about where everything stands at this moment and kind of how the story is being talked about amongst you guys there on the ground?
34:15Well, I think we've got to preface everything with saying it's a little early. Like, we talked to Tom Munkin not too long ago, a couple days ago, and he's like, we're halfway through the install. They've got eight days of install where they're really still incorporating the offense, putting that in. They're not going to be done with that until Thursday. And then after that, that's when Munkin said, like, he'll really start dialing things up and calling plays to each individual quarterback, strengths and weaknesses. and that's when he's going to get a sense for really how these quarterbacks are handling the offense.
34:42But there's so much that's going into this quarterback competition. You've got pre-snap like three days into training camp. They had 10 different cadences that they're working on with the offensive line. Obviously post-snap, you know, Munkin wants them to execute a certain way for Shador. You know, this coaching staff wants him to get the ball out a little bit quicker, work through his progressions, and they think that he's doing that really well. We're seeing the deep ball every day in practice. And then you've got Deshaun Watson. and he's still kind of getting back into form after so much time off because of injuries and whatnot.
35:09He's talking about just letting his instincts take over. He's had a couple of interceptions where he just needs to play with a little more fluidity and trust what he's seeing. But, yeah, I mean, you've got those two guys competing, and you've got two other young quarterbacks with Dylan Gabriel and Taylor Green that are getting snaps, and they're also working hard as well.
35:25Pat McAfee:I heard Taylor Green and Shador get a little extra work out. Yeah, I love that. Love to hear that, obviously, second-year player acting like a vet. Deshaun Watson, if he wants – I still don't understand how a guy getting paid that much money if he wants to play is not going to play. But, hey, they're going to move on. Got to earn it. It's a new era. It's a new era, they are saying, obviously, as a whole. The GoPro on the helmet. Yeah. All right. So the GoPro on the helmet. The GoPro on the helmet. I love the views that they're probably getting. It has to be a little bit uncomfortable. But if Munkin can be in your brain, I think we want him in your brain.
36:00D-Bud has a question for you, Daniel. Yeah, we talked a little about offense and obviously quarterback competition, so that'll lead every story. But the defense, a couple veterans got paid. Denzel Ward, Grant Delpit. How's that defense looking? Are those guys being, I guess, more vocal leaders at this point in their career? Yeah, well, I'll tell you this. Yes, the big story of the offseason was the Browns trading Myles Garrett to the Rams. You lose the Defense Play of the Year, two-time Defense Play of the Year sack champion. But this is a group that still thinks this is going to be one of the better and really one of the best defenses in the NFL.
36:30You get Jared Burst back, you know, to lead that defensive front. You got the reigning defensive rookie of the year in Carson Swessinger. And like you said, one of the best secondaries in the NFL with Denzel Ward, who just got paid. Grant Delphitt that just got paid. And definitely keep an eye out for second-round pick, Emmanuel McNeil-Warren. I think this is a defense that's going to play a lot of big nickel, you know, to try to combat all these offenses playing two or three tight ends. He's going to have a big role. And then you got – Wait, hold on, Daniel. Can you tell these people who you're talking about there?
36:59They're saying who? Who should they keep an eye out for? New defensive coordinator Mike Rutenberg, rookie safety Emmanuel McNeil-Goren. Yeah, there it is. This is going to be a defense that is flying to the ball, plays a lot of man. They're going to try to cap him down in the back end. They think they're still going to be really, really dead, despite losing Miles Garrett.
37:17Pat McAfee:Okay, yeah, obviously move on from Miles Garrett. Then they start dumping money into the defense, first doing his thing. I can't wait to see what the Cleveland Browns are. I don't know if these Steelers fans have any idea who those guys are, but hey. They'll find out. Hey, we're going to learn this year. Here we go, Steelers! Here we go! That's not how Bret Michaels sings it. He sings it wrong. I hope Bret Michaels is okay, by the way. I hope he's okay. Last question for you here, Daniel, coming from Con Man. Yeah, Daniel, we've talked about being here from last year to this year and just a different vibe overall with Big Mike McCarthy at the helm.
37:51How is it with, you know, the entire thing with Stefanski being gone and Munkin taking over? Is it just a better, fresher vibe? or people flying around a little more? What is kind of the biggest difference that you would say going from last year to this year with the Munkin regime? Yeah, it's definitely a different style. I think the general manager, Andrew Barry, who we spoke to a couple days ago, put it best where he said that Todd Munkin is old school disciplinarian, but new school football and relationship building. This is a 60-year-old first-time NFL head coach who said it's been a dream come true to work decades in this sport and finally get an opportunity to be a head coach.
38:29So he's a disciplinarian. You hear him at practice. He lost his voice one time in minicamp because he was yelling so much. But then he has a new way of thinking about the game as an offensive-minded head coach, the way that he interacts. He's 60 years old, but he can interact with these young 21, 22, 23-year-olds that are fresh out of college. So they love that mixture, and I think that the players are definitely gravitating to the way he coaches them and how hard he is on them. Okay, I like that there's a little different energy, a little different pace. Maybe the Cleveland Browns win the AFC North this year.
39:01You can see it. There's a chance. Good value in that bet. There's a six-year-old girl over there saying that. He's going to take the over on the win total. Daniel, tell them the last time they won. I think it was, what, 99 maybe? Okay, Daniel, we appreciate you joining us, Daniel the man. Ladies and gentlemen, broadcasting live from Cleveland Browns training camp, Daniel Oye Fusi. Yeah, Daniel.
39:31Pat McAfee:We will certainly take a trip over to Baltimore here in a matter of moments.
39:41Pat McAfee:Ian Rappaport's in Baltimore at Ravens camp. He's going to give us all the goods. But before we get to Ian, can we bring up living legend that's just standing over here? Two-time Super Bowl champ, pro bowler, icon, a man who is beloved in this city and all of sports, I'd assume. Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise. Brett Kiesel here. Brett Kiesel!
40:06Thank you so much. Good to see you, bro. I mean, this is awesome, Akisha. Mr. Kiesel Good to see you Mr. Kiesel Big son of a bitch Thank you Yeah He's like your beard Yeah we like that What's up you guys Yeah Let's go Yeah Yeah Yeah Is this right Yeah Got this all right Nailed it Stellar Nation Let them hear you Let's go
40:37Pat McAfee:How you doing There Brent A lot better now that you're up here man Okay so you just being a part of the Steelers program is basically just assumed. There we go. We got Kiesel. Here we go. Pittsburgh's gone to the Super Bowl. You hear that Pittsburghese in there? We got Kiesel, the big-ass beard. There we go. Fighting folks with no fear. There we go. We got McCarthy. He's getting sunburned. And maybe it's seven and it's Pittsburgh's turn. Here we go. Oh, that was smooth. Okay, okay, thank you, thank you, thank you. Album, August 14th. There we go. All right, so, Kiesel, thank you for stopping by.
41:23My pleasure. It's great to be back here in Laetrobe, baby. That's right.
41:27Pat McAfee:Okay, so we're in Laetrobe, and obviously Mike Tomlin has been running this team for an adult, a human growth amount of time, 18 years, and then Kyle before that, and then Noel, obviously. But whenever you talk about Mike McCarthy coming in here, What have you noticed as somebody that's obviously played here, that has been an alumni here, that's beloved here, been around the building, and now there's a new coach in the building? What has it been like, and what do you think about the team thus far? Well, he's a yinzer. You know, he grew up here. He knows what the team means to the town. And, you know, he's just changed things.
41:59There's attention to detail any time there's anything new. When I came here, Coach Cowher was here. You know, he ran a great camp. Six weeks of two-a-days, baby. Like, it was a whole different realm. Our weight room was a tent. Like, well, this is way nicer than our weight room. It was just different. The stadium wasn't there. The seats weren't there. It was just a hill. And still our fans showing up with their coolers and sitting all day. But when Coach T came in, it's a transition. It's a new thing. Each one of these guys, as you guys know, has to set their own stamp in, right, and do things their own way.
42:34So just talking to people within the organization stuff, there's a real attention to detail. It's far different. There isn't, you know, kids running around on the field and stuff like that. It's like, get to your job. Let's go. We got things to do. We got games to win.
42:47Pat McAfee:Aaron Rodgers, obviously, how old is he now? 41? 50? 42? 43? He'll be 43 during the season, I think. He's got a young spirit. Doesn't matter how many human years he has, obviously. It's all about his spirit in there. What did you see from him last year? And whenever you talk about having a little familiarity, at least, with being a Pittsburgh Steeler, what do you think that adds for him this year? I think he did great last year. I mean, you know, there was a lot of moving pieces. The whole line was kind of shaky at times a little bit. But having his leadership and, you know, a first ballot Hall of Famer in the huddle, it's going to elevate everybody's game.
43:20And I think having a year under his belt, his familiarity with Coach McCarthy and what they've done together, I think they, you know, we're going to the Super Bowl, right? Yeah. Here we go. Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl. Here we go. That's something else when you're in Pittsburgh and you do get into the playoffs and they start playing those fight songs that we have and stuff, like on the radio every morning. It's unique. So we got to get back to that. We got to get a playoff win in. Amen. And back to the big dance, baby. Well, I want to let you know, I'm from the town with the great football team.
44:01They're called the Pittsburgh Steelers. Okay, Tony has a question for you, Brett. Yeah, Keisel, a lot of talk about Patrick Graham, the new D.C. Like when we were growing up and we were watching you, it was Aaron Smith, Brett Keisel, big snacks in the middle. You had the dogs on the outside, no matter who it was, ferry and foot in the middle. But they're talking about moving T.J. and Highsmith and Herbie around a lot more. Do you think that's important in today's football? How do you feel about that versus what they haven't been doing the last few years? Definitely think it's important. I think he's going to do a great job.
44:28Just talking to Cam, he really likes the system and things that they're doing now. Like I said before, anytime anything new comes in, everyone knows you've got to step your game up. You can't rely on, oh, I've been with this coach for five years. He knows me. I'm going to be on the team or whatever. It's like, man, you've got to go. Like, you've got a job to do. And so TJ and those linebackers are so athletic and long. And if you can get them back in space and get them moving where they're not rushing the quarterback all the time and you can bring a blitz from the side, cornerback blitz, safety bits.
45:00It's like Coach LeBeau was so great at that, right? Oh, we love LeBeau. Love Dickie, baby. Oh, love Dick. Great Stacey of all time. Yeah, he is, and I agree. Love Dick LeBeau. But so much of it, Coach led us as linemen, like myself, stand up. You know, most of the time, big boys, you always got your hand in the dirt, right? So being able to stand up, move around, disguise, hide things, that enabled us to bring TP off the side. Or sometimes Troy would just come on his own, you know? It wasn't even a part of the play. But all of it is disguise now. Everybody's trying to trick everybody. Everyone tries to get a next step on everybody.
45:40So if you can disguise and have guys moving around, I think that makes your defense that much better.
45:45Pat McAfee:All right, Brett. Over-under for the Pittsburgh Steelers is 8.5, I think, right? Yeah. That's a high number. Is it? They've gone under that number in 23 years. That's right, Brett. I like that. I believe, baby. I believe. Come on. Brett said I'm not a betting man, but why not 17 wins this year? That's impossible. Why not 15? Seven was at Miami, Ohio the last time they went under that number. Yeah, well, obviously nothing matters that has happened in the past. We went 15-1 here once. We went 15-1. Still a record. Ben's rookie year. You guys remember that? Shut up. We almost got there. Shut up. Shut up.
46:26But we got there the next year. Ran into the train. that's right ladies and gentlemen make some noise two-time super bowl champ absolute icon thank you guys thank you thank you thank you can i get a photo with you
46:59I appreciate your mic. Hey, smile, we're in it.
47:06Bro, that was a big transition. I don't know if you guys saw or not. First of all, Kiesel is beloved in this city. Yeah, he is. Jesse caught it! Jesse caught it! Jesse caught it, yeah. I was still bitching about that. Grow up. Okay, so I don't know if, I mean, And I think it was probably caught on camera there.
47:29Pat McAfee:Boy, I was going fist bump with Brett right there. And then he was coming with a big paw like this. I want to let you know. Boom. Oh, okay. Boom. I was very scared, though, that he was going to swallow my fist. Yeah. Right there on television. He slaps the back with the best of them. Yeah. I'll tell you what. He's a big bopper. He's trying you. Uh-huh. We got to remember that. That's what these people are doing. You know who else is like that? These people. Who's that? AJ Hawk. You know who else is like that? Who's that? Mike Vrabel. You know who else is like that? Brett Kiesel. Legends. I would assume Cam Hayward is as well.
48:02The big, strong guys. J.J. Wah. J.J. Wah. Ian Rappaport. Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now is a man that is a complete opposite. And whenever the big guys do this to him, he potentially gets knocked off track. But he goes right back and goes right ahead. Because this man, junior NFL insider for ESPN, senior NFL insider for NFL Network, live from Baltimore Ravens training camp. Ian Rappaport. Yay, Rappaport. How you guys doing? Rapp, how you doing, pal? There was terrible weather here the last couple days. How's the weather at Baltimore, and how's training camp going? I'm under a canopy. It started to drizzle, and you guys know I don't like that.
48:44Are they singing? Is that singing I hear? Things are going great here with the Ravens. A lot of optimism. I know the Steelers fans are going to be happy to hear that. A lot of good vibes, a lot of new coach vibes, lots to like over here.
48:57Pat McAfee:Okay, so the Steelers fans here were chanting wide right, obviously, because of a kick. That's mean. That's actually really mean. That changed the entire trajectory of the Baltimore Ravens and also the New York Giants. I mean, if Father McMillian, McMillians? Maximilian, Father Maximilian. If Father Maximilian didn't put that holy water down there on Acresher Field and force that missed kick. Ravens stay with Harbaugh. There's no change. Now, full change down in Baltimore. You said the vibes are high. What does that mean? Everybody's bought in. Everybody believes. What does that exactly mean? It's an interesting dance because Harbaugh did great things here, won a Super Bowl, and it's like not everything positive has to be sort of disparaging to the other guy.
49:45I would say same thing with the Steelers. I mean, a new coach probably is a good thing, but it doesn't mean that the old coach was a bad thing. You know what I mean? So there's a lot of that going on here, a lot of energy, a lot of really good communication and relationship building from Jesse Minter, Zequan Doyle, the new offensive coordinator, and Lamar Jackson, and just understanding this offense, what it's going to be like, why it can help him and help everyone. Like there's the relationship building and communication, I would say are really good. Whereas like, you know, by the end, both of those things probably fell off a little bit with John Harbaugh.
50:22And I would say particularly Lamar seems really invested in this.
50:27Pat McAfee:Lamar Jackson, you're talking about former MVP, Lamar Jackson. Sure am. He's been at every single workout as well. Two-time MVP. I apologize. He's been at every single workout this offseason. They're making a big deal of that. Is that because obviously new culture? Is it because Lamar feels as if maybe he's going to be judged on this entire coaching change as well? Well, I think both those things and because there's a lot to learn. You know, like, look, Lamar had his best years when Todd Monkett came in and kind of started new, dug in, dove in, learned everything and played really well and really efficient.
50:59And that's sort of the vibe I'm getting here. Like, Lamar was around a lot. He's, you know, it's going to look a little different. He's going to be under center a little more, I think, probably than he was previously. So they're going to run the heck out of the ball. They got Derrick Henry. You know, but I think the fact that he likes it and is energized by it will go a long way for this organization. That stuff, especially when, you know, the way it was last year, bout their injuries didn't play great. You know, the buy-in is really meaningful and you can feel it.
51:30Pat McAfee:Yeah, anytime your quarterback's all in, obviously the team is going to be all in as well, which is why every team wants to know who their quarterback is immediately. Lamar Jackson last year on the ground. we don't think he was able to be who Lamar Jackson is, which is still above everybody else, but it wasn't exactly that because of injuries and things like that. People forget his QBR is, like, better than everybody. I mean, the guy can spin it way, way better than anybody gives him credit for. I'll tell you what, Minter gets that defense back to being that defense. You know, seeing Lamar Jackson.
52:00Sorry, you get used to seeing Lamar Jackson a certain way, and then when it doesn't look the same, they're like, what's wrong with him? It's like, well, there were some things wrong. He was injured. Fives weren't great. Like, definitely renewed energy here. Is he a bit long in the tooth? Oh, no. The Baltimore Ravens are about to win the Super Bowl. Uh-oh. That's crazy. DJ Bonnix is here. Wiz Khalifa's DJ. He's back over there. Good to see you. Hope you guys had a great tour, DJ Bonnix. Obviously, love you. No, they're the odds-on favorite. Can you put the odds up for the AFC North so these people can see it?
52:36Bro. Please, Foxy, keep with this. Oh, is that over? Minus. Is that on? 11 and a half? Minus 112. Did you know in nine years with Lamar as the quarterback, they have three playoff wins? So messed up. Okay, Tony. I'm just wondering if you guys knew that. Tony, I didn't know if you were speaking for them. They had some other stuff. I think somebody in here. Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers. All right, there's a cheese head there, actually. Hey, I'll come support that cheese head here in Pittsburgh. A.J. Hawk has a question for your rap sheet. Yeah, Rapsh, what about Trey Hendrickson? What's he look like early on in camp?
53:11All that we've really seen is a clip of him running the hoops, I guess. And what are people saying about that? They're saying he might not be. He's just getting loose. But what's he look like, Rapsh? We need a boots on the ground view. What's he been looking like? You know, I would say, first of all, really good. He is an intense dude, and he fits in here. He is tough. He is physical, and he wants it very, very, very badly. He has wound extremely tight, I think, in the right ways. Early returns are really good. Going to rush the passer. Going to contribute on the edge. And this is a team that, you know, needs it.
53:46And if they get Nnamdi Matabuke back, if they get Calais out there, I mean, that defensive line itself is going to be really good. It kind of takes some pressure off him as well. It should be much improved from last year. I think Trey's going to be a big part of it. And that storyline, how they rush the passer, Obviously, how Max does with the Las Vegas Raiders. And then Vega, who was the first-round pick who would have been traded, he has been a baller here. I mean, just a baller here with the Ravens. It's going to be interesting to follow how that trade, the fallout and all that.
54:21Pat McAfee:Yeah, because now Max's name is getting mentioned to be traded again. So it's almost like the Las Vegas Raiders was kind of hard coming out of your mouth right there. It was. Why is everybody doing that with Max? honestly because is he coming to the colts we'd love to have him what do you know we love that i mean i think i think a lot of teams would love to have him i do not get the sense right now that max crosby wants to get traded i do not get the sense that he will get traded okay anything could happen we've seen that it's just it feels to me like he's all in on the raiders yeah the las vegas raiders his current and only team i believe that's the way it will stay especially if they are much improved this year, which they should be.
55:05Pat McAfee:Okay, he was a Raven there for about a day, it felt like, and then obviously that all goes different ways. Felt like forever. Oh, they're not going to spend any money on a pass rusher. No, actually, they're going to pay Trey Hendrickson, just kick Max out of the building. Max goes back to the most talented Raiders team we have seen. Let's stick with the Baltimore Ravens where Ian Rappaport is live from. D-Bud has a question for you. Yeah, Rappaport, the names, the people we know, the playmakers we know on that offensive side of the ball, Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, Mark Andrews, Zay Flowers, who are some, I guess, some young names, some new faces that we can expect to make some plays for the Raiders this year?
55:35Yeah, I mean, first of all, some of the old faces are pretty good. I mean, I watched State Flowers go one-on-one with Marlon Humphrey, who's awesome, and just, you know, catch a 50-yarder at practice to kind of let everyone celebrate. You know, they still got Rashad Bateman. They still got Mark Andrews, obviously likely is gone. Drafted a couple receivers in the draft, a couple tight ends. And what it seems like they're looking at is, will one of those guys at each of the positions kind of merge? Kind of like they did in Mark Andrews' year, actually. It's like, draft two guys to the position, see which one will be good, figure it out.
56:14You know, you hope they get a little better receiver health. I think they probably need it. But the early returns on this draft class, I would say, are pretty positive. Obviously, starting with the guard, but pretty positive.
56:26Pat McAfee:The Baltimore Ravens obviously vibing into a potential another AFC North title. 11 and a half. 11 and a half wins. Brand new head coach. Two-time MVP. I'll tell you what, this place just went crazy for some grape jams. Just went absolutely crazy. Why could you not? There's a grape jams. Yeah, it's okay. August 17th, Rap, if you want to go ahead and announce it. Grape jams coming August 17th. Grape is coming, yeah. Yeah, I'm obviously excited about that. That's obviously something I eat all the time at home. Yeah, good. I like that. I appreciate you doing that. Yeah, as you should. I appreciate that care package that you sent me.
57:06Yeah, you're welcome. No problem. Okay, we appreciate you joining us. Maybe you lost my address. Oh, boo-hoo. Shut up. Be quiet. I just got a new deal. You're the reason. Nobody's talking about it. Yeah. This guy's the actual reason. Nobody's really kidding. No. Yeah. You're the reason. I read that on the internet. No. Yes, I read it on the internet. No. On the internet. Yeah. Ladies and gentlemen, a man who is a junior NFL insider for ESPN, senior NFL insider for NFL Network, front of the program, live from Baltimore Ravage Training Camp. That's Ian Rappaport. Yeah, I'm here. There's been a jams invasion here, which we certainly appreciate.
57:46This is the first time we've seen these boxes. Yeah, they're sweet. Yeah, those are the first ever. We are pretty excited. We got great jams coming August 17th. Strawberry and berry was great, and then you try the grape, and you're like, oh, that's why it's peanut butter and jelly.
57:58Pat McAfee:And you know what? Purple is an incredible color. That's why whenever you think about the Baltimore Ravens, you think to yourself, oh, man, are the Ravens about to do it? You completely forget about the NFL whenever Lamar Jackson's dealing, when Lamar Jackson is spinning, when Lamar Jackson is cooking everybody, because last year there was really none of that. It looked bad. The defense looked bad. Lamar had to score like 50 a game, which he was doing, but it never really was like high optimism. I think even Stavi and I think even Budda potentially gave up a little bit there. They move on from the coach.
58:29They almost win the AFC North. Okay, that kick goes in. Whole different story. They get a home playoff game.
58:34Pat McAfee:Instead, it's like rebuild this. Let's go new. Ravens are dangerous, I think, if they have Lamar. I love Minter going over there. And it was right from jump. Like you remember, for me at least, thinking about the Ravens season, it just started with Josh Allen coming back down 15 in the fourth quarter and then beating him. and it felt like that kind of set the tone for their entire year. We'll see what happens without Linderbaum. That feels like the biggest loss for them and Lamar. Yeah, it does. And the old line was the biggest thing for them last year. They couldn't figure out the right side of their offensive line.
59:02Connor says Linderbaum is gone. Obviously, Rapp talked about them. Drafts and Vega Ione out of Penn State, who is obese. But, yeah, we'll see with the offensive line because that was a big thing last year, and they're going to put Lamar under center more, so that will be interesting to see because there's a certain guy, there's a certain GM who's wanted him to be under center for a long time. Okay, speaking of being under center for a long time, let's come here to Pittsburgh, well, sorry, Steelers camp, Latrobe, Pennsylvania. I believe we're about 30 seconds out from a potential two-minute drill.
59:29Oh, here we go. Okay, live two-minute, I believe. They'll be starting on their own 35. The offense will have two timeouts.
59:36Pat McAfee:The defense will have one timeout. The offense will be down seven. I do not know if this is it. This might be the last. This is Will Hired. Okay, so this is the last rep, I believe, of the drill right before two-minute. Will Howard, good handoff there. Who is that, Caleb Johnson? Good run in there out of the lab. They just had an incredibly long completion to play before. We've been keeping tabs on this. And the reason why we've been kind of watching is because two-minute live calls. I mean, they're breaking up right now. Let's go. Show the screen there, Foxy, please. All right, here we go. This is my favorite part of practice.
1:00:08Pat McAfee:Now we're getting into it. Okay, so this is going to be live drills here now. Now we've got McCarthy calling, Aaron Rodgers cooking, defense calling as well. They'll be starting on their own 35. Everybody knows the situation here, and they're treating this as if it's game. Is that not right, AJ? That's what it looks like, yeah. The defense looks like they're going off to huddle, and they're going to run on. Once you get on there, it'll be probably muddle huddle here. What did you say? How much time is left on the clock? 146. Offense is down seven. Two timeouts for the offense, one for the defense.
1:00:33Pat McAfee:What does that mean, D-Bud? That means the offense has the full playbook, basically. Plenty of time. You obviously got a quarterback and a head coach that's going to be comfortable in any situations, but the clock is not an issue for the offense, at least right now. right now in the two-minute drill. But you need a touchdown, so the defense also knows that. Don't give up the big play. Official start of this, we've been told, is 102. And obviously the attention to detail that has been talked about around here, we assume 102 will be the exact start time of this particular two-minute. What we're saying is, look at the crowd filtering.
1:01:05What they're about to see right now is ones-on-ones real football. And this is what we've been dreaming of, Tone Diggs. Yeah, it is. I mean, it's awesome to see this because it's about as good as it gets when you come to one of these training practices, the two-minute, everyone going all out. Aaron has been really, really good so far in two-minute. Will Howard's been good at two-minute. Drew Aller's been good at two-minute. I haven't seen much of Mason yet, but I assume he's been great. But, no, it'll be fun to watch this.
1:01:26Pat McAfee:Con, man, are you going to get scared if the Pittsburgh Steelers just do some walking right down this field? Because I'll tell you, I've seen a lot of highlights coming out of New England, and obviously we're talking about the AFC North right now. The team that reigned supreme over the AFC for a long time just might be back, and it feels like the mic'd up is telling us Drake May and Josh McDaniels are more confident than ever. Yeah, more confident than ever. Their interactions are much more kind of level. Last year, it was a lot of McDaniels telling May what to do. Now it seems to be kind of back and forth.
1:01:52But, yeah, you said it. You don't get nervous as a team who just went to the Super Bowl about other teams, okay? We are the top. We are what people are chasing after. Of course, you didn't get the job done last year. But, yeah, seeing this, though, seeing the clips of McDaniels and May, like this is you get chills because you know that it's around the corner and we're going to be able to bet on DraftKings on these teams very, very soon. It'll be interesting to see who on this drive in the two-minute catches a pass for those future bets.
1:02:19Pat McAfee:Travis Hunter is back on offense and defense for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He looks absolutely jacked. A lot of stories coming around. Jerry Jones is on a microphone. Love that, that that's taking place. There is things brewing around the NFL, and it does appear as if we are seconds away from ones-on-ones here. Now, D.K. Metcalf linked out to the left. Aaron Rodgers in shotgun. Who's the running back, Tone Diggs? I can't see the number. That's Rico Doudle. Rico Doudle. T.J. Watt fan standing right in the middle of the snap. We appreciate him doing that. Lady says hello to her family. Aaron Rodgers dropped back, checked down.
1:02:57Pat McAfee:Doudle gets it. He's tackled. Inbounds. Clock will continue. Two timeouts for the offense. Down seven. About 130 left in the first half. A.J. Hawk, what are you looking for here from the offense? I'm looking at, is this field position right? What do they look like? They're on the 20-yard line going in now? Where are we? No, we're definitely a lot of field left. Look at the pylons up. Or is that the first? That was a catch. Oh, deep ball on the side. Zoom out. Let's catch that. The first down, Pittsburgh Steelers on the offense there. Aaron Rodgers in the Pittsburgh Steelers offense under Mike McCarthy, who is giving the calls.
1:03:27Pat McAfee:Now, we were told specifically, do not show the signals. So we were trying to stay out. But it would be a lot easier if we could go in there and kind of see what's going on. After they make the play call, let's go ahead and zoom back in. Little kids saying hello. Good to see you down there. Obviously, a bunch of lads get some photos. We made it to training camp. School starting soon. High school football starting soon. Pittsburgh Steelers in the red zone. I believe they still have two timeouts after a long completion on the left sideline. Aaron Rodgers in shotgun. Quick fake. Hand off. Inside draw.
1:03:57Pat McAfee:Two timeouts. Rico Dowdell gets tackled. One timeout. Are they going to take it? You don't want to score too quick here. There's 122 and you're on the 15-yard line. You want a 10-yard line. They need to run the clock a little bit. They are down seven. Remember that. No timeout spent. That means they probably still have two left. Aaron Rodgers is cooking. Yeah, he's running. Mike McCarthy has told us that there's nobody other than Aaron Rodgers he'd like to have in a two-minute drill. That's why he thought the Jets and the Steelers were going to be good whenever they had Aaron. Good. I'll tell you what.
1:04:25Pat McAfee:There he is. A lot of doubt on tackling down to the ground. Mike McCarthy's not going to be happy about that. I assume a timeout is called. There is Jay Butler. Do you like what's happening here? Defense seemingly getting run their ass off the field. I mean, look, you're in a good situation here, though. Just bow up, you know, keep it in front of you. Obviously, don't let them in the end zone. The clock is running. Once again, the full playbook is still there. But after probably the next play, the run game is probably out of it, I would assume. 35 seconds left on the play clock. Aaron Rodgers has been in shock on this entire time.
1:04:53Pat McAfee:Shot to the corner. Overthrow. Stop the clock. 27 seconds left. It's tough, though. It's good for the players, too, because this is the first time, really, you know, two minutes, live, good on good. Now as a player, as the guy with the green dot, as a DB, you know how Patrick Graham is going to react, how he's going to call plays, because everything is live. This isn't scripted for either side. So I'm interested to see what they come out. What formation is the offense going to come out to? Two by two, three by one, one by three, and then you can kind of go from your menu there if you're on that defense.
1:05:22Pat McAfee:Two-minute drill here, full pads. First time for the Pittsburgh Steelers. D.K. Metcalf out to the left. Three by one, D.K. over here. Look like it's going to be one-on-one. Let's go ahead and zoom out a little bit, see what DK has. They got a shade over top. Aaron's looking that way. Yep. Oh, yeah. Touchdown, Pittsburgh Steelers. Boom. Oh. They tackle him early. Oh, he's down on the one, maybe. Let's get some goal line work. Let's get some goal line work. 25 seconds left on the clock. Full pads. Mike McCarthy said, let's not be getting anybody injured. They certainly took a timeout there. So, no timeouts?
1:05:54Pat McAfee:I think they have none. Okay. Defense has one time out. I believe that was DK on the catch. It was. DK Metcalf inside. DK Metcalf outside. Pittsburgh Steelers' two-minute offenses looked very efficient. Dowdle also getting to rock a lot. He beat the hell out of the Green Bay Packers last year as a Carolina Panther, which is a damn good football team. It's a good football team. Dowdle is a big difference maker. I don't think anybody's going to talk about it. He had like two months of being one of the best parts of the NFL. Now you're one by three. Now you've got Muth, I believe, out here. It's the isolated X, basically.
1:06:25Then you have DK as the number three receiver to Aaron's right.
1:06:28Pat McAfee:Moose saved a kid earlier. Aaron Rodgers takes his shot. Big high ball. Is that Roman? Is that Muff? That's Roman Wilson. He was out of bounds. Had to be. One foot. Roman Wilson. Is that Pitt? No, that's Roman. That was Roman? 23 seconds. 14? I can't see. It'd be nice to know what down it is as the Pittsburgh Steelers try to operate here in a two-minute offense. They are down seven currently. Clock sitting at 23 seconds. This is a classic Steelers game. Defense has to hold on the one-yard line offense. Basically every game. This is every game for the last 10 years. Down here, low red area defense.
1:07:03You're expecting passes near the goal line and then near the back line. Back pie line and the goal line.
1:07:09Pat McAfee:We have no idea what down this is. We do know that Aaron Rodgers is down seven against the Pittsburgh Steelers defense. Shotgun. Doudo. A little confused. Not going to him.
1:07:21Throws it out of bounds. Okay. It's got to be third. I mean, is this Canadian League? How many downs we got out here? Can we get some signs?
1:07:32Pat McAfee:It is potentially third down, as Renegade would potentially be playing if they went to a commercial break at this exact moment. Oh, my mommy, feet for my life from the long arm of the long. Three by one. That man is coming down from the gallows and they know that. Empty, empty, empty. Aaron Rodgers. We need someone underneath that slant for DK. Aaron Rodgers can scramble. Get underneath it. DK, touchdown. Yeah. He didn't throw it? He had it. He had it. Touchdown somewhere else, I'm sure. Throw it away. Incomplete. Defense celebrate. Looks like that might have been fourth down. That was fourth down.
1:08:14Steelers didn't get it. Steelers defense with a big time hole. The Mike McCarthy, Aaron Rodgers era begins with a massive failure. Oh, no. Yikes. Oh, no. It's a win for the team. Yeah, it's a win. It's a win. Good drive, AJ. Oh, no. We'll have Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers up here. We'll see what went wrong. I'm going to take the underarm wins now. Oh, my God. You're 0-1. Your defense is 1-0. We know they're going to score points, right? You've got to walk away with points. It's a 2010. I thought you were on the defense. Offensive head coach. I'm just going to let you know, that's not good. March down the way early.
1:08:54Mike McCarthy is going to say it was a failed two-minute drill. Oh, for sure. If it was Tomlin, that'd be a successful two-minute drill. Let's get to a break because he's a defensive coach. Yep. Offensive coach. That's a shame. I'm not saying anything else. Will Howard now will take his shot at trying to lead the boys down. That means Will Howard, number two quarterback, by the way.
1:09:12Pat McAfee:Number two right now for two minutes. Right now at this exact moment, he is the number two quarterback. Congrats to Will. Will Howard would certainly be loved. We have about 40 seconds left. What's Will Howard going to do? 146, down seven, two timeouts. Will Howard comfortable in the pocket. Tip. Batted. Batted down. All right. This team stinks. Get off. Get off there. Holy shit. This is practice. Oh, my gosh. Since I had to see it, Will, speed up a little bit. Uh-oh. No. Sound the alarm in Pittsburgh. No. If you're not here, what we're seeing, it ain't good. No. That's not true. Defense is doing great.
1:09:45It's uglier in person, folks. No, you can't see anything from where we're at. Yikes. D.K. Metcalf had a 30-yard reception down the left sideline. All for naught. Please have some respect. We're back on the other side. Be a friend, tell a friend something nice.

1:11:05Football. That is awesome. Shout out to the St. Vincent baseball team for allowing us to take up a chunk of their outfield. Shout out to everybody that's hanging out with us. We appreciate you. It's hot as hell out there. Obviously, the lads are out there trying to get better. First day of full pads. This hour will be packed and stacked, I do believe, with Pittsburgh Steelers legends. Coach Mike McCarthy will be joining us here in a matter of moments. Aaron Rodgers will be joining us in a little bit. T.J. Watt, Cam Hayward will also have, I believe, Omar Khan joining us, the GM. He was up here earlier.
1:11:34We might have blew that. But we're very excited and thankful to be here. And I'll tell you what, for the last couple weeks in Indianapolis, Indiana, there's been a little bit of a chill, you know, and in the weather you can kind of sense that football was around the corner. Then we get up here and we're hearing these guardian caps thump. Yeah. We're watching these two-minute drills and we're seeing tackles and majestic highlights. We're in football season and it is an absolute honor to be here and we are incredibly thankful for ball as a whole, but also for Pittsburgh for being so damn kind to us and Leigh Trobe kind of welcoming us in here.
1:12:12It's an honor to be here. The Steelers have been here for 58 years, and this is a pilgrimage for all yinzers,
1:12:18Pat McAfee:and obviously football is happening in real time. The Toxic Table is here at Boston Corner and at Ty Schmidt. One half of the hammer. Die! Cowboys, AP Tone is here. Nine-year NFL vet Darius J. Butler is here. You look so cool. I heard that that White Sox hat maybe caused a little something in the elevator here. Yeah, usually. Obviously, I ran into a couple of yenzers getting in the elevator this morning. He said, all right, you can get in, even though you got that White Sox cap on. We're Pirates fans in here, so I respect it. But I just got to head on because I like the colors. Moonshot of Takamurikami has made me a little bit of a Chicago White Sox fan.
1:12:50Pat McAfee:The Chicago Cubs also, I believe, playing great baseball right now. Baseball is about to be dead, though, because the Dodgers got Tarek Skubal. So we need to take everything we have in right now of baseball and enjoy it because there ain't our season coming, allegedly, next year. The college football national champion, Super Bowl champion. Yeah, the Dodgers are getting a little heat, probably happening in a lot of baseball towns. Pittsburgh does have a baseball team, but this is a football town. Ryder Cup champion, Super Bowl champion, college football national champion, former president of Ohio.
1:13:21Pat McAfee:Ladies and gentlemen, AJ Hawkins. Hawker, takeaway from first hour. We talked to Ben Baby in Cincinnati. We talked to Oye Fusi in Cleveland. We talked to Rappaport in Baltimore. And then obviously we watched a two-minute drill here in Pittsburgh. Your big takeaway from hour one is we're out here in the heat thanking everybody for getting sunburned alongside of us. I would say my big takeaway is positivity all around. Every single camp we go to, everyone feels very optimistic. They feel like their team can win it all. And why not? At this point in the year, everyone truly does feel like you can win it all.
1:13:49But we all know there's only a handful of teams most likely that have a chance. But right now, why not? I think this is the time for optimism. Oh, yeah. Are the Pittsburgh Steelers one of those teams? Yeah, I think they are. Actually, I think you are. You can be one of the teams if you have an elite quarterback. And guess what? They have an elite quarterback.
1:14:04Pat McAfee:On that note, walking off the field right now is said elite quarterback who has been very open with, hey, yeah, last rodeo here. Let's go ahead and enjoy the hell out of it. He mentioned it during his Montana trip with the lads he took a couple weeks ago. He mentioned it multiple times that he was done. His wife said you can have another year, obviously, if you'd like it. Mike McCarthy being here feels like a special time. But to your point, everybody thinks they can win the Super Bowl right now. Everybody thinks they can win a Super Bowl. I don't know if everybody thinks. Everybody hopes they can.
1:14:33I think some teams only hope, but they know deep down probably not.
1:14:36Pat McAfee:Well, I'll tell you what. Whenever I see a highlight from a team, I think to myself, well, maybe they actually will win the Super Bowl. And, you know, we get called a lot of things here. A lot. All the time. All the time. But what I always read about us is, you know, I wish they would just go back to what old ESPN was. Sure. These are wasted on these guys. A lot of that. You know, a lot of that type of shit. We would like to show highlights from all 32 teams. From all 32 camps. And we'd like to let everybody know that every time I see any of these highlights, I do think to myself, holy shit, is that team going to win the Super Bowl?
1:15:11Yes, I'm a live-in-the-moment guy, but how could you not be? Especially when we head to the San Francisco 49ers electrical substation prison that they're practicing in. Brock Purdy back to Deebo Samuel. Samuel, the point slant god. He's going to eat, we believe, this year. The yards after catch was not great. And then let's go to a massive free agent signing, Mike Evans, who is now a member of the San Francisco 49ers, doing the things that he has always done. He's had over 1 ,000 yards for the last 100 years. The Niners in the middle of that electric place making highlights all over the place.
1:15:43Are the Niners about to win the Super Bowl? Or maybe let's head to the Bears, D-Bud. Yeah, if they can get past the Iceman, Madden, cover, athlete, I think he's going to be in MVP conversations. Big part of that, Rome of Dunsley. I think he takes a big leap this year, just like a leap right there, going up and getting it where the kids can't get it. Another guy, another young guy, tight end, second year. I think he'll take a huge jump as well. Colston Loveland, you know those tight ends, they're a problem, especially up the seam, putting it right between the eight and the four. I think Caleb Williams is going to have a huge year.
1:16:14Let's go out to Cincinnati. Yeah, we should go out to Cincinnati. I know we have a clip of Joe Burrow coming up, and Joe Burrow right there with the beautiful skyline of Cincinnati outside of Paycor Stadium. We have something going over us right now in our head, but watch the late hands here, D-back. Very late hands. D-back does not have a chance. Nope. When you have late hands like that, we know Jamar Chase is going to be rolling, and he and Joe Burrow seems to be on the same page this whole time. I love everything coming out of Cincinnati. Let's go to Denver, shall we, Conman? Yeah, Bo Nix got his ankle fixed, and they got a new wide receiver, Jalen Waddell.
1:16:45Beautiful slow-mo shot. You got to love that in the Mile High City, But seeing Jalen Waddell, the 17 for Denver, going up, making a grab. Still looks like he has his Dolphins gloves, but still looks fantastic. Him, Cortland Sutton, should be great. But let's go to the dog pound. Cleveland runs.
1:17:03Aaron Rodgers:Yeah, and if the boos are any indication, it's because potential QB1 Shadur Sanders is throwing deep balls. Denzel Ballstein is making contested catches. I don't know. This might be the year for the Cleveland Browns, unless Tampa Bay has something to say about it. Yeah, let's go down to Tampa Bay where the thing's off the field. The vibes have been great. Baker rolling right. Don't throw across your body. That's fine. Bucky Irving with the touchdown. Bucky Irving's been awesome out of the backfield. He's got a touchdown down here in Tampa Bay and also in Tampa Bay. One of the old vets now that Mike Evans has been gone.
1:17:34Baker checking, making checks at the line. Makes a nice little throw down the sideline. Chris Godwin. He's back off of an injury looking great down in Tampa. Let's head out to Buffalo. Yeah, let's go to Rochester, shall we? who's the wide receiver up here in Buffalo? Oh, DJ Moore's there, and he's caught this pass from Josh Allen 15 times. We've seen this highlight. Joe Brady, the new head coach, obviously same OC. Josh Allen, an expectation size. Bill's about to cook somewhere that maybe they get cooked because the weather, but also online. Let's go to the Cardinals, D-Bot. Yeah, if you're taking a running back in the top five, it's not just going to be to hand him the ball.
1:18:09It's going to be to get him out in space. Jeremiah Love going right up the seam. A great ball over the top and a great catch. Let's go out to LA. Oh, who's out there, D, but I think we know who that is. Justin Herbert, Ladd McConkie. D, but what would you say? Don't sleep on this guy. Don't let this guy run by you, right? As you break the huddle, we know he can make catches all over the place. His yak is also off the charts. That's why we get a nice ball here over the middle. Ladd's going to make one cut and get upfield and absolutely dominate. We know he will, but you know what? Let's head out to Kansas City.
1:18:39We're not showing Mahomes throwing the ball off the helmet, okay? We're showing him throwing it to Kenneth Walker. You forget that he's going to be their Super Bowl MVP. to Super Bowl MVP. Look for the Chiefs to be back. And now let's head back to Indianapolis, Indiana.
1:18:52Aaron Rodgers:Colts fans, I'll tell you what, if you were fearing that Achilles surgery, fear not, okay? Danny Dimes is slinging absolute rockets. Tyler Warren, excuse me, slamming his head off the turf like we've seen time and time again. I like how the Colts are looking so far. Let's head to the nation's capital. Yeah, nobody's talking about the commanders and Jayden Daniels being back off of an injury to Luke McCaffrey with the toe tap in the back of the end zone. Can the commanders do it this year? Maybe. They're going to have to beat someone in Dallas, though. Yeah, they certainly are. NFC East, Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott, George Pickens, filthy back shoulder comeback catch.
1:19:24And he's going to celebrate on the dirt that they got out there. Love the Cowboys. Do we love the Dolphins, D-Bot? Now, people accuse me of being a fan of a lot of teams. I'm a lifetime Dolph fan. And we got a new QB at the helm, Malik Willis. Quarterback run, no pass. I don't know how I feel about that. But I love the dance and love the vibes down there. Let's go out to Philly.
1:19:43Pat McAfee:That's right, AJ. What about Jalen Hurts? We know he's coming to camp looking trim, looking spry. We know this Dontavian Wicks goes up and gets it. Give me that. We know he came over from Green Bay. He's looking for huge things between he and Jalen Hurts this year. Comment. What's happening in Atlanta? Michael Penix just throwing absolute darts back from injury to Zachariah Branch, third rounder who flies. He's been crushing it at camp all year. Went to Georgia, stayed in Georgia with Atlanta. Looks fantastic. He's a hell of a player. But let's go a little further south to Jacksonville, shall we?
1:20:13Aaron Rodgers:Yeah, we mentioned in the first hour, it looks like Travis Hunter's put on about 40 pounds of muscle. And we know he can do it on the offensive end. Give me that. But is he going to do it on the defensive end again this year? What? But I don't think so. I mean, there's just no way. Oh, wait a minute. Is that Travis Hunter? Zach and an INT? Give me that! Well, wow. Let's go to New York. Are the Jets going to stink again this year? There's a good chance they do have the quarterback of the worst team in the league last year. That's Geno Smith. But they got Garrett Wilson back, and that could be an incredible duo this year.
1:20:42Garrett Wilson did an awesome catch, said that Gino was an unbelievable throw. Let's go out to Detroit, though. Haven't heard much about them, have we? Yeah, let's go up to the D. Garrett just bopped his head off the field. I'm happy he's okay. Jamison Williams. Jamo can beat you with speed, but also the comeback is deadly.
1:20:57Pat McAfee:Jamo's been a stud. Back-to-back 1 ,000-yard seasons, people forget that. Let's stay in the NFC North and go to Green Bay.
1:21:04Aaron Rodgers:Yeah, it's going to be tough in that division when you have former first-round pick Matthew Golden going up and getting one. Contested catches. He just looks like he doesn't just run straight down the field. He looks great so far. You know who else looks great? Newly paid number one receiver, Christian Watson. Jordan Love throwing a beautiful ball. And Christian Watson's going to go full extension for the touchdown. Oh, yeah. You can't see it. There's a couple defenders on the backside there. That was the only place it could be thrown. Patrick's look – Packers look unbelievable. Let's go to New England.
1:21:37Yeah, another team that looks unbelievable, Well, the AFC defending champions, A.J. Brown, they only got better on Christian Gonzalez. This matchup has been prime time every single day at training camp. Get used to seeing this and a lot of touchdowns. Let's go to Sin City, Las Vegas. Yeah, Sin City, Las Vegas. What do you think of? Kirko Cousins. Here we go. Nice, beautiful ball in the majestic skyline. Brock Bowers brings it in. Very, very strong hands. Look for huge things this year. Deebo, what's happening with the Rams? Something you better look for when you get in that red area. Devontae Adams from Matt Stafford.
1:22:08another red zone touchdown. Led the league in receiving touchdowns last year and also set a record, NFL record, all-time record of touchdown catches inside the five-yard line. So see a lot more of that this year. Let's go out to Baltimore, Tony. Let's go to Baltimore, okay? Let's see what that... Oh, there's Lamar. Okay, he's standing back there. Oh, that's a horrible throw that his wide receiver had to... He has a horrible throw. Why are you talking Baltimore? That wide receiver Jacoby Lane, and the rookie had to come down with an incredible catch, terrible throw, though. Let's go to Seattle.
1:22:42Yeah, listen, everyone wants to talk about the Rams winning the Super Bowl,
1:22:45Aaron Rodgers:but what about these guys? Sam Darnold with a beautiful ball to JSN, reigning offensive player of the year with a little Nate Burleson-esque toe drag swag. What a beautiful catch. Beautiful catch. Let's go down to Texas. Yeah, remember Sonic and Knuckles? Where Knuckles is down in Texas now in this vision. Love to see that out in space. by 3-2, and somebody else is back too. Tank Dale. C.J. Stroud's a big year for him. Big year for this offense. He adds a level of electricity to this offense. I cannot wait to see him, but stay in the AFC South down there in Tennessee. Yeah, Bob Salas, boys. They look fantastic.
1:23:22Cam Ward throwing an absolute seed to Wandale Robinson. He came over with Dayball from the Giants. They're working on their connection. They look fantastic. Tough times in the AFC South for the Colts. Maybe. I don't know, but let's go up to Minnesota, shall we? Shall we? But yeah, Minnesota, Kyler Murray locked in a QB battle with J.J. McCarthy. He completes a nice deep ball here to Justin Jefferson over the middle. We think Kyler Murray won this job, right, guys? You're so early. It's a competition. I don't know either way, but what's going on here in Pittsburgh, Pat? Yeah, let's go down to Pittsburgh.
1:23:51I'll take that one, AJ. Why not? This is not from today. This is from yesterday. Okay, this is another two-minute drill. Defense won today. Oh, who won yesterday? That's 8-88 up the seam. The Muth for the back shoulder touchdown. Oh, it looks like both sides of the ball are good, don't they? Let's finish this thing off. Donnie to buy you up, Pat.
1:24:08Pat McAfee:Yeah, were we supposed to end this with an interview with Chris Alave? Yes, that has been pushed to tomorrow. Tyler Shuck, 26 years old in his second year, headed to the$93 million guarantee wide receiver Alave. The Saints all of a sudden talking about high hopes, high expectations. Kelly Moe, an absolute dog. Shuck can spin it. Is this it for the Saints? We shall see. Alave just got paid. Good for them. And that's a highlight from every team in the league. Oh, yeah, good work, boys. Let's talk about two guys that play for this particular team in this particular league, and in this particular franchise and city, these two will be remembered for absolute ever.
1:24:44One of them obviously has family associated with the Steelers. The other one has family associated with the number one booth for CBS now. Number one? Number one booth. Yeah, he's the number one booth for CBS. Yeah, this guy's brother. Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for TJ Watt and Cam Hayward.
1:25:08LADS, LADS, LADS. I LIKE THAT. HE'S EATING THE JAMS RIGHT NOW.
1:25:15THE LADS LOVE YOU. THE LADS LOVE YOU. THE LADS LOVE YOU.
1:25:22CONGRATTS ON A BIG TWO MINUTE DREW WIN. IS THAT GREAT? YEAH, OF COURSE. YEAH, IT'S GOOD, ISN'T IT? THAT'S REALLY GOOD. I FORGOT J.J. IS AN INVESTOR TOO. TJ is an investor. I think there's a chance. TJ is in. I'm getting in. I'm getting in. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Grapes, grapes coming August 17th, TJ. August 17th, TJ.
1:25:40Pat McAfee:Lads, good to see you. Obviously, thank you for everything you've done for the city of Pittsburgh, how you represent the Steelers, and obviously congrats on another year for both of you. Let's talk about that. Appreciate it. We're obviously very thankful for that. TJ, can we talk about a two-minute drill there? 1.46 left. I think you guys were up seven. Offense had two timeouts. Defense had one timeout. We watched the entirety of it. They get down the goal line, it looks like, but then you guys get a big-time stop. Patrick Queen. Okay, Patrick Queen makes a play. How does the defense feel? You know, a lot of conversation about McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers.
1:26:08Pat McAfee:You guys, how does it feel coming into this year with uncertainty, or how is it kind of? We're trying to embrace change, man. I think PG's done a great job with our defense. We have a lot of great players. Obviously, we also have some good vets in the room. It's tough running those two-minute drills when you have an offensive coach. You know, some flags will start getting thrown. There's never a sack. Yeah, there's never a sack. Not allowed to do a whole bunch of stuff. But anytime we can win, it's huge for us out there. Cam, let's talk about that offensive-minded head coach here. They haven't been like that forever, obviously.
1:26:38Pat McAfee:You were a huge piece, I think, to the Tomlin leadership group. We've seen it in Mic'd Up. We've seen it in the Hard Knocks. Having a new coach come in here, an offensive-minded coach, what has it been like for you personally and also professionally, I guess, should it fall into that? Well, I think it's just adjusting. As much as he's an offensive-minded coach, we're still a defensive-minded team. And we're trying to embrace that. We're trying to learn. I got to rely on this guy a little bit more to keep my head right. But, you know, we're going through it. AJ has a question for you. Yeah, TJ, there's obviously a ton of talk about you standing up, moving around, doing all this with multiple other guys on the team.
1:27:11I guess what is that like for you, especially this deep into your career? It has to feel good to be a versatile player where they do want to move you around and give different looks to the offense. Yeah, I mean, I grew up watching the Packers. Obviously, Clay Matthews moved around a whole bunch. Wow. Really, really making you feel good over here. No, he was inside. He was inside. You're right. Very simply. He was an edge rusher like you. You're right.
1:27:33Pat McAfee:There's actually a story where he was healthy scratch whenever they took on Vic against Philadelphia. Wow. Wow. That's crazy. I was not healthy scratch. I played kickoff team, and I was the last one down each time, I think. I'm trying to dive and talk to him. Talk to him. The catapult was at an all-time low. Exactly, exactly. Yeah, man, I'm just trying to be as versatile as possible, and I think it's a lot easier said than done, and I've been stubborn to it for a long time. But this scheme doesn't allow me to only go to the left and just fall back on what I know best. And sometimes it feels awkward.
1:28:04But the more that I do it, the more reps that I do it, the more they make me get in those uncomfortable positions on the football field, the better that I'm going to get at it and keep the offense off edge.
1:28:14Pat McAfee:Tell me about the stubbornness. Because that has happened, I think, right? Because this has been a conversation for a few years. And I think your angle has been like, hey, I'm really good at this. I am like best at this. having to, you said the scheme doesn't allow you to be stubborn or whatever, you're going to be forced to get up there. But what has that been like for workouts? What has that been like for mental? Like, have you talked to others that have done in the past, like Clay? Like, how have you kind of attacked it? Because I think you've always said, yeah, I'm really good at this. Exactly.
1:28:40Pat McAfee:This is what I should be doing. You, I think you've almost humbly said, why are we going to be putting me into these positions? Now you have to do it. How have you focused and attacked at this offseason? Just trying to embrace it and in the individual periods start on the right side and then do my stuff on the left side last because I know that that's more natural to me. It's tough because I never want to waste a rush. If I'm on the right side and I have a bad rush, I'm like, damn, if I was on the left side there, I would have had a sack. So it's hard to adapt. But as I get older, as we try to affect the offenses as a whole, you have to grow and the only way to grow is to continue to listen to where you can get better.
1:29:16Can you catch? Back over to this side. Can I catch? Come on. Back over to this side with Cam. But I'll just say this. As much as he's on the left, that makes all of us step up on the other side, too. It's not just him rushing. It's a group effort. So if he's on the left, right, we all got to win our one-on-ones.
1:29:34Pat McAfee:Yeah, and TJ, I just didn't know if you could catch. I didn't know if you were worried about being out in open space a little bit. No. No hands. Not at all. I believe you're one interception away from being the second player with like 110 sacks. You and Julius. Yeah, we have Julius. You and Julius Peppers, yeah. Is that good? Pretty good. Is that good? It's great comfort. It's for you to say. That's great. D-Bot has a question. Obviously, we know it's a big change with Mike McCarthy being the head coach. What's been the first impressions, I guess, for both of you guys with Patrick Graham, the new defensive coordinator?
1:30:02I was with him way, way back in New England. But what's been your guys' first impression? Obviously, in the meeting rooms, in front of you guys, then out here on the field. Well, he's trying to bring that Belichick era back into it. So he's been telling us a little bit what's been going on in the past. He has a wealth of knowledge, too. So, you know, it's not like it's anything new for him. and we're just trying to marry the two defenses we've had in the past. So he's been open to it. We've been honest. Like every time we're on the field and off the field, we're just communicating to get through all of our different checks, all of our different looks.
1:30:34But he's fun with it too. So it's been really cool and, you know, we're just growing every day. He wants us to not be robots but at the same time not mess up. You know what I mean? I'm trying to be PG with it. But I think he brings great organic energy. You know, he's not trying to be something that he's not. We clap it up at the beginning of every meeting, and at first we kind of looked at each other a little sideways. But that's just who he is. And he brings that energy. He wants the best for you. He's going to let you take those chances if you know what you're talking about and you do your film study.
1:31:04And I think we're going to do some great things as a defense this year.
1:31:07Pat McAfee:TJ, much like me, AJ, and D-Bud, it does feel like you're a big rah-rah guy. You rah-rah guy. You love the rah-rahs. You know? Oh, you got to hear his speeches. Yeah, just like vets in the NFL, basically. I think we all kind of get to a point and I'm putting myself in there. You guys have played a lot longer than me, but it does get to a point where it's like, all right, it's not youth football anymore. So the clapping thing, I assume that was a shock. I assume that was... I think he just started clapping this week. Thanks for coming around. What do you guys, are we right-handed clappers, left-handed clappers?
1:31:41Pat McAfee:All right, let's go. Yeah, let's go. Come on, Cam. Here we go, Cam. That's it.
1:31:51Learn it, Cam. I like that you're buying in.
1:31:53Pat McAfee:Hey, old dog, new tricks. It's happening right here in front of us. I can't wait to watch it on the field. Tone has a question. Cam, this is for both of you, but Cam, there's a highlight. I think it was like three years ago. You were 80 yards down the field against the Chargers, and we never want to see that. We never want to see that again. And I was talking to a certain long snapper on your team. I don't know if there's any more than one of them, but he was talking about just how this is the biggest defensive line that you guys have had in a very long time. maybe the biggest defensive line that he's ever seen.
1:32:18Does it start like we grew up here and it was like, oh, the Steelers haven't allowed a 100-yard rusher in 300 games or whatever it was. Is that where it starts? Does PG come in with and remember that about the Steel Curtain and stuff? Does it start with stopping the run again? Has that message been talked about at all? It's got to start there. I think you look at our last couple years, when we don't stop the run, we give it up. And so if we want to be the number one defense and we want to go far into the playoffs, it starts with stopping the run. And we've just been preaching that day in and day out.
1:32:48You know, you got big guys like D-Harm. You got Keanu Benton, YA Black. You added Sebastian Joseph Day, myself included. But, you know, we all got to stop the run. It's not just the D-line, but, like, they got to stop the run. Our corners got to be a part of it. It's a group effort. And when we do that, we kick a whole lot of ass.
1:33:09Pat McAfee:TJ, you want to start punching people on the rush stop, like run game? How has that kind of changed your world now that you've got to play a couple different positions? I've just got to get more comfortable with it. But like I said, it allows us to make more plays. And even if I'm not the one making them, it frees other guys up to make plays. And we have so many guys that are willing and able to throw their head around in there and play smash-mouth football. A lot of change around the AFC North. We assume it will be hot in the kitchen. AFC North football is AFC North football. Always has been, always will be.
1:33:38Pat McAfee:And we appreciate you two and your sacrifices that you've done, not only for Bo, but for the city through it all. We appreciate the hell out of you. Yes. That'll be good. Thank you, John. Hey, a lot of protein in there. A lot of protein. He's an investor. He'll see you all. He's an investor. Yeah, me too, me too, me too. Go ahead and have your jobs. Enjoy your life. Eat it. Eat it on TV. Let's go. No, then I can't talk. Then I can't talk. I like that you're doing that. Have you tried the grape yet? This is great. It's coming out August 17th. This might be your first time trying it. There's a professional.
1:34:04Pat McAfee:And there's protein in there for recovery. Wow. Just for the protein. Ladies and gentlemen, TJ. Thank you, dude. Let's clap at the beginning of those meetings. Let's clap, Cam. They're watching you, Cam. Thank you, TJ. Hey, see you, Cam. Hey, Cam, big ones. Beginning of those meetings. Everybody's following you, Cam. I don't like him not clapping in front of those meetings. I'll tell you what, though. Playing football for as long as he's played. Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now, general manager and head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Omar Khan. And Coach Mike McCarthy. Okay, I like what we're doing here.
1:34:54We got literally the entire.
1:34:59Great to see you, Coach. Great to see you, Coach. You probably have it on that side. Have it on this side. Have it on this side. Have it on this side here. Yeah, but now. All right. I was going to try to have it on your left side. I'm a right side guy. He does his way, all right? This ain't my first headset. Yeah, I understand. I understand a lot of headsets.
1:35:20Pat McAfee:We are calling plays, though, yet again. And I know I had a year off and exciting and enjoying. Great to see you, Omar. You look incredible, by the way. I don't know what you're doing. We'll certainly talk about that in a matter of moments. Coach McCarthy, we watched a two-minute drill. All right. What the hell? Is it your birthday? No. It was. It was Omar's birthday. Wasn't it? Eventually. I'll take it, though. I'll take it, though. Omar, at some point this year, it was your birthday. Thank you. Okay, let's move along. Let's talk about the two-minute drill. We watched it. First one? We had a good shot down there at DK Metcalf.
1:35:53Pat McAfee:Yeah. We get down in there, and then all of a sudden, that daunted Steelers defense shuts you guys down. Was it a defensive winning day today? How would you judge practice? And what are your thoughts on the first day of pads here with the Pittsburgh Steelers as you as their head coach? I would say overall, you know, it looked like our first day in pads. You know, first team period, you know, we didn't have a good start there offensively with the pre-snap penalty and the ball on the ground. But, I mean, to be honest with you, it usually goes something like this or close to this. You know, it's first time in pads, you know, on the pad level and, you know, just the pace of the practice.
1:36:28Yeah, so we have work to do, and that's why we have video. And I can't wait to get the hell out of here and get up on that video.
1:36:35Pat McAfee:I don't know if you caught that little B. I'm excited for you to continue to make the team better. Last question for me for you, and then obviously the boys will have some, and the fans certainly will. There's been a lot of talk about how your camp is obviously different than the camps that have been here in the past. For you, though, this is just what you're doing, right? How have you acclimated yourself to being a Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, and how do you think the Pittsburgh Steelers have acclimated to you being the head coach of this team? Excellent question. I think really doing this a long time.
1:37:01That's why they're pelling us. Yeah, and I think A.J. can chime in on this. I mean, you know, practices were a lot different, you know, back in 06 and, you know, all the way up through 2011. Then there was, you know, a shift in how you're able to practice. You know, frankly, the two-minute rule at the end there, we had to stop it after a second down because we ran out of time. So it was a 105-minute practice that, you know, so just so you know, technically the offense had two more downs. So let's not get too excited. Because I had two really good plays. Yeah, I'm sure. Two touchdowns. Yeah, exactly.
1:37:35So, you know, I think it's, you know, you learn through time and really you tailor the practices. And, you know, we have menus and drills for every period, and you continue to work it. But at the end of the day, you have to tailor the practice to how you want to play, and we're getting there. And like I said, it's the first padded practice, and, you know, it was a little bumpy out there. I heard you're not tackling because you're soft. Whoa. That's why I didn't say it. I'm just telling you. I don't care what they say about you. I think you're a good guy, too. I kind of like you. It's hard sometimes.
1:38:11You know the gimmick.
1:38:12Pat McAfee:You know the gimmick. No, but you coming out and saying there's no tackling, there was obviously a reaction. We saw somebody go to the ground. We saw some thumping today. For you, the big deal is we're definitely going to be physical. Got a lot of vets on this team, though? Like, what is kind of the mindset? I mean, to be honest with you, it's just trying to lower the risk for injury. You know, you don't want to be on the ground. It happens, you know. So we're not taking the ball carry to the ground. So that's really the difference. You know, everything else as far as the individual drills, the combo drills, the group drills, I'm sure those will all be similar.
1:38:42I love that you came out and said, we're going to have a physical football camp. I mean, what are we even talking about here? We're just not taking – yeah, I'm not asking TJ Watt to take Rico Dotto down to the ground. Okay, sue me in this entire thing. It's a good business decision, don't you think? Yeah, I'd say. But now if nobody can take, if TJ Watford gets how to tackle, it's on your ass.
1:39:02Pat McAfee:Yeah, that's fair. Okay, all right, sounds good. Omar, last question for me, for you, and before the boys have them. You piece this team together, a lot of veteran spots. Obviously, you draft quarterback this year, goes crazy. You bring in some people. How did you want to separate this particular team from maybe Steelers teams of the past, or is it still the same mantra, same type of guys, even though Coach McCarthy's head coach now? Yeah, another good question, Pat. Yes! You know, you're on fire, dude. The standard's been set here. So for us, it's just really trying to continue what's been done here before.
1:39:31You know, the six Super Bowl championships, right? And we're trying to get a seventh one. And, you know, just really, really trying to stick to the standard that's been set here. Tone has a question for you. Yeah, I do, Omar. So, like, when you come into a camp like this, and are you more focused on the rookies that you just drafted? Are you more focused on Rico Dattle and Michael Pittman and all the guys? Like, do you guys, do you watch those guys? or do you tend to notice that you watch those guys more because you just brought them in and you don't know them as much when you're watching practice?
1:39:59100%. I sit here saying we're going to watch them all the same, but obviously early on you try to take a closer peek at those young guys and the new players that are here and the players we don't know as well, maybe the ones we had, but certainly that happens. Yeah, then, Coach, I wanted to ask you, so obviously the last two years, Fah Tanu and what's the right guard? McCormick, thank you. McCormick were playing the right side. They played 3 ,000 snaps on the left side in college. It looks like they're playing on the left side now for you guys. What went into that situation? Because obviously the O-line and the continuity is huge this year.
1:40:32I think any time you come into a new organization, you have a short-term plan and a long-term plan. I think that's part of it. You evaluate the players. You want to give the players an opportunity to be a starter. Those guys were drafted as the left-side players. I have a belief of what the left side players should look like versus the right side player. So your scheme and which way you go there, that's all fact. It's definitely two men that we feel really good about. They're established and hopefully they're anchors over there for quite some time.
1:41:05Pat McAfee:That was a good question too, wasn't it? Outstanding. Thank you. I love all the questions. We need that. A lot of public stuff about us. You know what? Don't matter what they say. Coach, you said, obviously, there's a lot of work to do. Day one and pass, you've been installed on the offense, OTAs, mini camp. Now we're here in training camp. At what point will you think you'll be up to speed or feel comfortable? Obviously, you're familiar with Aaron, but a lot of new pieces. I would assume a new offense. At what point do you expect to feel comfortable going into the season? You know, that's a great question.
1:41:39I mean, that's why we're here. I mean, another great question. Just that's why you practice. And that's why I try not to get too high or too low when you have your first batted practice and, you know, you have to wear your head coach at, you know, like this, and you're going to flip it around sometimes when we're an offensive guy. So, yeah, it's, you know, we've got a game here, you know, right around the corner. Aaron playing in that one? What's that? Is Aaron playing in that one? I hope so. We'll see what happens.
1:42:03Pat McAfee:What is your belief in preseason games? It has to change. You know, it depends on where I think the team's at, and I think year one is different, you know. So, yeah, I would lean towards playing everybody in the O. Oh, I can't wait to see that. Aaron's going to love it. I've heard him give a quote where he said, obviously, preseason's preseason, but if Big Mike wants me to play, I'll play. It feels like he has been like that about everything with you. He came out and mentioned how, you know, you being here is a huge reason why he came back. I think he was okay being done. I think it's been like that for a couple years, but he's trying to find reasons to, you know, I think he doesn't want to be done, could be done, find reasons not to be done.
1:42:44Pat McAfee:Wife said he could play another year. You being here is a huge deal. What has it been like working back with Aaron? And where are you at now versus maybe back whenever you and Aaron were winning 107 games together? You know that? You guys have the second most amount of wins between a head coach and a quarterback together. Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, obviously number one with 112. You two, 107. Sirianni and Hurts, 62. Has it been like picking up like the old days, offense and everything, or how has it been between you two? Definitely. I mean, it definitely was like picking up where you left off.
1:43:13But, you know, a lot of it is just, you know, nomenclature and terminology change and just getting in tune with that. But, you know, going back to the first part of it, do you play, you know, Aaron? And, you know, every quarterback that I've coached is a head coach. They all want to play. You know, I mean, Favre, Dak. I mean, they want to play, but it's really the combination of guys, you know, and where do you think you are as a team? But then the flip side of it is, you know, those young guys can't play enough. You know, we've got two young quarterbacks. I mean, we have to come out of this preseason with, you know, Will and Drew playing a lot, a lot of football.
1:43:46Pat McAfee:They love the young lads here. A lot of big pops out of the boys. And I think a lot of the highlights coming out of Drew Aller, people are saying, hey, good to see. You know, good to see that, obviously, with a massive pick. AJ has a question for you. Yeah, Omar, as far as you and Coach Mike go, I guess, what is this? This camp is another opportunity, I guess, for you guys to kind of hang out and see how you see ball. And not only – we know the players all bond through this, but is this something where you guys get to hang out and see how you each kind of view the game and everything? Yeah, it's been great, AJ.
1:44:12You know, it's funny. If you would have told me, was that 2000, that we'd be sitting here 26 years later here, you know, doing this together and talking ball, I'm not sure I would have believed you, but it's been awesome. It's been a grind, him and I, since day one, right? It's been a lot of fun, a lot of football, and we share the same vision, same goal, and, you know, we're trying to bring another Super Bowl to this group right back here. So, you know, that's what we're trying to do. Oh, yeah.
1:44:41Pat McAfee:Historic shit happening here at St. Vincent. 58 years' team has been here. Yeah, it's unbelievable. I mean, look at this setup. What a beautiful college. I haven't been up here in decades. I just can't believe it's beautiful. And the fans. Have you talked to them? And the great questions. Yeah, a lot of good. Thanks, Kyle. A lot of good. And great defense. I don't know if you saw a two-minute drill. Great defense here with the Pittsburgh Steelers. That's my team. That's my team. It was TJ and Cam. TJ was here. He's like, yeah, it is interesting. You know, these two-minute drills, I think we're probably going to start seeing a little bit more flags, probably, for the offense.
1:45:13Pat McAfee:There's going to be a little bit, oh, there is a timeout all of a sudden. He did get out of bounds. It's interesting. Because, obviously, defensive-minded team for a long time still have to have that. We'll always have that because it's Pittsburgh. But as a Yinser running the team, I think you've always been very open about the honor and also, like, what you're trying to do here. I would like to say it's been so much fun getting to know you, and I can't wait to watch you coach this team this year. And I think they all feel the same way, bro. Thank you. so good luck brother and thank you so much for joining us thank you for the hospitality is very good clapping over there and all you got to do is just win a Super Bowl dude that's it just as easy as that just what a Super Bowl we're here hey man ladies and gentlemen general manager and head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers Omar Khan Mike McCarthy
1:46:03You're going to love it. You're going to love it. You're going to love it. Thank you, Omar. Thank you, dude. You look unbelievable. A lot of swimming with the kids. Oh, I like that. Any science? I'm on all this science if you need anything. Let me know. Appreciate you, dude. We got McCarthy. Hey, we'll see you in a bit, coach. We just kind of invited ourselves into his life. Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now is a four-time, four-time, four-time MVP. An absolute icon. Yeah, ladies and gentlemen, starting quarterback. Not yet. We got eight minutes until the Internet. Ladies and gentlemen, Aaron Rodgers is here.
1:46:49All right, Coach Mike on his way out. I see a couple of the lads, Pat Fryer-Muth, who saved a baby, and DK Metcalf who is a physical specimen. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. That's my first time getting eyes on DK Metcalf in real life. Holy shit. What is that thing? That's an unbelievable specimen right there. Specimen. Good for you, dude. Good for you, man. Alright, let's go. We only got eight minutes. We got a lot to talk about. Yes, we do.
1:47:17Pat McAfee:Yes, we do. Okay, first of all, congratulations on another year, dude. We are very happy that you're still in ball. We're still very happy that you're doing it. Very happy. Pittsburgh Steelers fans also pumped. Tony Diggs didn't like that he had to wait again. He was a little bit mouthy during that whole part. I don't care. Do you know why, Aaron? Because I got to defend you the entire time you're making a decision because I took an oath when I was born to defend every player on this team. So when I hear people mad that you're taking your time, I got to defend them, and then they get mad at me.
1:47:45So, yeah, it was very selfish of me, but I'm glad you're back.
1:47:48Pat McAfee:He didn't miss a single day, okay? He was also here in the offseason. We appreciate that. I didn't miss any OTAs. that I wasn't, you know, excused from. We're getting some stuff. Excused from. But we talked about a couple times today because you've been very open about coming back for this year, last rodeo, and you talked about your wife saying, hey, have another year. Mike McCarthy being here, obviously a big deal. Can you tell us about the mindset of coming into your last season? Like, that's a real thing, it feels like, because is everything better? Is everything funner? Is everything more awesome?
1:48:16Pat McAfee:Like, how do you kind of view this year versus maybe the years of the past? I'm going to plead the fifth. Okay. Okay.
1:48:26Like that absolute coward, Tony. Absolute coward. Are you kidding me? Yeah. 111. You got a pardon and you're in front and you pleaded over a hundred times at the White House. What are you scared of, Tony? I thought you were the science. Yeah.
1:48:40Pat McAfee:Yeah. I thought you were. I am science. And you get up there and you can't answer a question. Yeah. What are we doing? And how much time did the network spend to that? How much time did they spend on my responses every week, on my vaccination status, on Taylor and Travis' wedding? Yeah! Yeah! Did they do even a minute? Did they do even a minute on Tony Fauci? No, I don't think I've heard anything. No, I bet they didn't. But on that note. And there was another scandal this offseason, too, involving a voter for MVP, for Coach of the Year. How much time did your network spend? Did your network spend on that?
1:49:15Our network? I wish I had a Fouci. Go back to Fouci. This is awesome. Go back to Fouci. Yeah. Go back to the coward Tony Fouci in science. Who's spending the entire time writing in his diary about how fun it is to be famous. You got to be kidding me. Okay. So on that note. What are you going to say about me now? What are you going to say about me now? I got no debate here. You got a 500. No, seriously. What are they going to say about me now? Now that you can't talk about the COVID stuff, because obviously it was made in a lab. China. That's like not even questionable anymore. Tony Fauci is an absolute criminal.
1:49:51I'm on good terms with my family. I'm on good terms with my family. What are you going to say now? What are you going to say now? I want to let you know. It's been a fun ride for you, I wish, for them over the last couple. It's been a great life and a great career. And it's nice to be sitting on this side now, especially after that coward played the fifth over 100 times. I thought you had a part in there, Tony. Why couldn't you answer one question the entire time? We've got four minutes until the hardout. I got four more minutes, but we can keep this shit going. We can keep it going. I got at least four minutes.
1:50:20Okay. There's a lot of silence, but I will say this. I got to give flowers to Stephen A. Smith, my old friend Stephen A., because he was man enough to actually admit and apologize to Kyrie Irving. So I got to give a shout-out to my guy, Stephen A. You are not a coward. I appreciate you.
1:50:39Pat McAfee:Okay. Can we talk about – we'll wrap up that conversation. Other than that, there's been a lot of silence, I feel like. You know, like 19 seconds about one subject. Oh, no, no, don't talk about that. You know, we can talk about Rex Ryan's foot fetish, but please don't talk about, you know, anything else right now. Don't talk about, you know, any scandals. Don't talk about, you know, pop culture. Talk about Taylor and Travis's wedding. What do the insiders know about that? But don't talk about, you know, shit that actually has to do with our business or writing wrongs from the past. Can we remind people a little bit why you're doing all this?
1:51:11Can we remind people? No, I don't care. Okay, so in 2020, okay, we were there for all of this. 2021. Sorry, 2021. It really went down.
1:51:21Pat McAfee:Okay, there was a 500-page report that Aaron looked into with many doctors about his body and said vaccination. Now, that became a talking point of COVID, I believe, around the entire globe. And the only reason why I know that is because I was... I was coming on the show every week. We were talking. I was called a murderer because I was platforming Aaron Rodgers, who was making the decision that was best for himself. So as soon as I see all this start happening with Fauci, I knew that, boy, you were certainly having a time. Because your name was slandered. You were called a murderer. You were called a lot of things.
1:51:58I was endangering my teammates and this and that. Now look what happened. We talked about they suppressed early treatments. They lied about where it came from. Tony Fauci's writing in his journal about, I don't want to, you know, like, create any vaccine hesitancy if I tell them what the actual stats are. How many papers have been written? How many McCullochs and Malones and all the great doctors out there who actually did treatment on the front end and repurposed drugs that are the safest profiles in the world? But no, Tony Fauci pushing his medicine just like he did back in the 80s. And now when you have an auto-pinned pardon.
1:52:33Hey, Jay, you know what happened. You have an auto-pinned pardon. and you can't answer one question. Not even your name. I mean, come on. What are we doing? How much time did the network spend on that? Hey, can we do something for you real quick? How much time?
1:52:49Pat McAfee:Hey, can we do something for you real quick? Yeah. Hey, way to stand on your truth throughout the entirety of that thing. Honestly. Congratulations. Yeah, you should. I feel great about it. I told you I'd be on the right side of history when I had that mustache that we were in New York. You had that Halloween party that killed a lot of people, remember? You had that Halloween party. Oh, yeah. We were at 10 ,000 square foot warehouse with 21 people. And, you know, the I am science has six foot of distancing. You know, that'll be a good thing. If we can scare them enough, you know, they'll probably take this vaccine.
1:53:18It's had zero trials done for it. You have no idea what the consequences are. There's no informed consent. You can't even look at the insert to know what you're doing. They're not even, you know, pulling the plunger back to make sure that they got in the right spot in the arm. Like, what are we even talking about here? The insanity. I sat here amongst a lot of actually brave Americans who avoided the trillion-dollar propaganda campaign that was hijacked on the American public. And look at us now. Hey, way to go. Do you have anything to say? Do you have anything to say? We will be back tomorrow on TV, live from Indianapolis.
1:53:54That's MVP Aaron Rodgers. Okay, good. And now we're digital. Now we continue. Now you can really let it go.
1:54:00Pat McAfee:Now we will continue. I want to let you know, good for you, man. Yeah. Just because everything that was said about you for years and years by a lot of people, man. There were some powerful positions coming out saying you were the worst person on earth. Remember 8 Mile, right? In the last rap, you remember what he does? Against Papa Doc. He basically said, this is all the shit you're going to say about me, right? It's like all these different narratives. He's this, he's that, blah, blah, blah. His family hates him. He's a murderer. He's in danger in old people. All the bullshit over the years. Like, just keep it 100.
1:54:32That's all I'm saying. Just keep it 100. I'm not taking this fucking victory lap. Kind of. It's just like. You should. Kind of. Then start it. Kind of. Yeah. It feels like you kind of should.
1:54:41Pat McAfee:Now, on that note. Seriously. Come on. We've got to worry about ball at some point. But on that note, I am very thankful that you are having this experience that you're having. Because, boy, it got real loud. You were a very terrible person. I mean, it was. And I was. The reason why I know this. I was next to you in those mentions. What is the network doing? Like, you have literally an individual that maybe used to work at ESPN that covers our league at the highest level. And there's a major scandal. And it's just like nobody can fucking talk about it. What are we even doing here? Personal lives are personal lives.
1:55:11I feel like you of all people should know that. I understand. But if it's affecting certain things, if there's leaks going on, if there's tampering going on, if that person is also an MVP voter and a coach of the year voter. Remember when I won MVP in 2021? Yeah. And that bum in Chicago? Uh-huh. Yeah. Yeah. That's real life. Like, how are we allowing these people to have an impact? Porn Habarkush is what we call him.
1:55:36Pat McAfee:Habarkush, yeah. I remember he had a name. Okay, so on that note, good for you, man. Hey, actually. That would be eight. I told these boys I was bringing it today. Did you tell Bert that? No, Bert loves it. Bert loves it. Dude, if you just go back and search Aaron's name, you should take this in. You should take this in. Yeah. Well, there's probably some, you know, Oh, definitely. Courageous individuals back there. Okay, okay. I was about to say, there's no need to bury anybody back here. No, and I said there's some courageous individuals back there. That's all you do with that. Because there was a lot of enemies of yours, man.
1:56:09Pat McAfee:And once again, I would like to say, the only reason why I know that is because you have the ability to disappear from the internet, and I think you get updated on everything, and you see everything. Man, I'm on there every day. I don't see everything. I get updated on certain things. Now, Bert's my update. You know, he'll tell me, hey, this guy thrashed here. This guy said this. Or be alert for this, you know. Okay, so can we talk about some of the things you mentioned there? that they can't kill anymore. You being back with your family, awesome. Hey, let's go. Go, Rob. It's both sides. Obviously, it's both sides.
1:56:35Pat McAfee:A lot of people publicly have killed you for this entire thing. We have always said, like, hey, Aaron also has his side of this entire story for the fact that that's going to come together. And now... But, you know, honestly, the reason there was a schism and the reason we're back together is nobody's fucking business. Agreed. And I gave a little glimpse, a little glimpse of that. I'm not going to do... Like, you know, I don't even really post anymore. where I posted our trip in Idaho. The previous post I posted before that was from the Malibu trip the year before. I'm not going to be posting a bunch of stuff and blowing it up.
1:57:06I just wanted to give a little shout-out there. And a shout-out to little Jack and Evie as well, watching. They're probably not watching right now. They're probably napping right now, let's be honest. I love that. But my little niece and nephew, it was great to see them. But yeah, it's good to have a full circle. There's been a lot of full circles this past year. But yeah, people don't know and they shouldn't know. It's none of their business. Yeah, but we do know you're back to the family. There was a lot of conjecture because I'm the darkness guy and I'm the COVID in danger guy. And I'm this and I'm that.
1:57:33And in the end, all I'm saying is like.
1:57:35Pat McAfee:Yeah, there's been a lot of that. Yeah, there's been a lot of that. And on that note, do you think that's going to make you play great ball this year? Because I think it feels like you're a pretty free individual right now. Not that you ever weren't. But it does feel like vibes pretty immaculate around Aaron Rodgers. I just, I really. I used to not really care. I care even less about I'm going out after this. I'm not going to be I'm not going to be, you know, out there doing a podcast chasing. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. We might come every now and then chasing down weird ass parties in the East Coast and wearing white.
1:58:07I'm not going to be doing any. Yeah, I'm not going to be doing anything. Yes. You know, I'm going to be going to be a goofball fest. I'm going to be out of the light, so I might as well get a couple in. And I don't get to do this show as much as I would like to do, I think, from time to time. Especially when I get a chance to get after that gutless organization you have to be connected with. Oh, jeez. So weak. With the government? I just don't care anymore. Okay, we like that. I love it. I cared a little bit now. I don't care at all. No, we like that. I think that's going to be good for the football.
1:58:40All I care about is getting out there on that field and playing my best ball. Say whatever the hell you want about me. I don't care.
1:58:46Pat McAfee:Okay, so let's talk about that. Mike McCarthy, obviously, head coach and offense coordinator, Colin Plays. You guys have won 107 games. Obviously, it's spectacular, you two together. It feels like mentally you are at a point where you're about to go play your best football. Does it feel like you're right back in to the offense that you had 10 years ago or how many years ago? No, there's been some tweaks for sure. There's been some tweaks. Oh, I thought they were talking about what I just said about Fauci. No, that's our lower third. They probably are. They'd love to see it too. Yeah, if I guess.
1:59:14Pat McAfee:I assume that is the case. But how has it been with Mike? I love being back with Mike. I mean, Mike and I have a lot of history together. You know, we were different places when he first came out in 06 to Green Bay. But lots happened between then and now we're laugh about because, you know, he was my age when he took the job, I believe, in Green Bay. And he just had Alex, his oldest daughter. And now, you know, he's got the two boys. On Jess's side, he's got two beautiful girls who are, like, almost all the way grown up now. It's pretty wild to see. But it's fun to catch him at, I hope he would say the same, catching me now.
1:59:47I think I'm a little less intense in some of those meetings. In some of the meetings, you know, I'm a little more, you know, like I said, I don't care. Let's say whatever I want. What are you going to say? Godless organization. Whoa, geez.
2:00:01Pat McAfee:On that note. No integrity. Mike McCarthy feels the same way about being with you, I believe. I believe he is. Look at your hair, by the way. That's nice. I know. It's long in the back. He's growing in the back. Like the old school Packers. He actually has a question for you. Yeah, how are you doing? I'm great. I'm doing great. As a human. Like, you're doing great. I am doing great. It seems like you feel good. Yeah, I'm doing great. We had a great time in Idaho. We had six other guys came out. Just some good team bonding. It was a lot of fun. I saw you took pictures smoking cigs. Did a lot of man stuff.
2:00:27Had like cigs in your hand. A lot of man stuff. Dude stuff. I saw you riding horses. You got some wardrobe. Yeah, we shot some guns. Did some fishing. We had a good time. Really good time. So I'm doing great. How do you feel about the vibe of the team? The vibe is good. The vibe is really good, yeah. Not as many, you know, hangout nights yet. I think guys were a little tired last week, but there's been some fun hangs. Somebody pulled a fire alarm or something happened last night. There was something going on. Dang. Betty's go, probably. But it's a good time. I love being up here at La Trobe. Haven't been to Meadows yet, but that's on the docket.
2:00:59Okay. You do love ice cream.
2:01:01Pat McAfee:Yeah, what's the ice cream? Meadows is the ice cream place? Meadows, yeah. It's like a better, maybe, maybe not healthier, I'd like to think healthier, Dairy Queen. Okay. Where's it at? It's near here? It's just literally right down the street. We haven't had it this year yet. You go out the back right over here. Take a left, right. It's right next to Sharky's. We were there last night. Right next to Sharky's, exactly. Yeah, we were at Sharky's last night. I bet you were. Well, and then Eaton Park. We had a good time. Nice. Cheyenne over there at Eaton Park will keep the place open for you if you want a smiley cookie.
2:01:25Pat McAfee:Gumpy's as tall as the smiley cookie mascot. No, I saw him. So we saw that last night. No, you did not, son. You were on your tippy toes. You got my hand on his head. No, I mean, that thing certainly alpha-ed you. There it is. Yeah, Gumpy got kind of... Where's Gumpy? Yeah, Gumpy's back in the truck with the lights. There's the lights. Hey, here we go. Good to see you. Good to see you. Is that Foxy behind the beard? Yeah. Look at you. Are you coloring that thing? No games. No. It sounds like you said yes. No. No, he's not. No, is he? He's super alpha, dude. I'm going to say it. He is. He is. He's married, having a kid now.
2:01:59Pat McAfee:Yeah. Absolute alcoholic. They had to get beer for him so that after the show he could have a beer. Is he light or what? I love that. But we're a little bit worried about him. Dee Bud has a question for you. It's kind of a two-parter. Obviously, we just talked about the offseason with the boys. But how's it been on the field with your new weapons that you have particularly? And then with the two-minute drill, me and AJ are watching. You motion it. You got DK in the slot. I'm like, okay, here we go. Slant, walk-in, touchdown. What happened there? Why didn't you throw the ball? What was the read?
2:02:24The guy on Rico was 12 yards off. I didn't want to just throw it to him. It would have been a walk-in. He wasn't looking. Oh, we couldn't see. Okay, we couldn't see. That's practice. Yeah. That's what I call practice. The funniest part about practice is the first period against the defense is a walkthrough. It's supposed to be an offense-only period. So there's a douche that wears number 90 for us who picked me off the other day. It's a defense doesn't touch the ball drill. Yes. And then he runs around. He's getting the crowd. I'm like, it's a walkthrough and it's an offensive period. What are we doing?
2:02:58And then we're out there. I throw a ball. DK makes a beautiful catch. They're cheering. It's like, no, they're not supposed to. It's not contested catches. It's a jog through period, the first of the day.
2:03:09Pat McAfee:If it means anything, if we would have seen TJ pick you off and it would have hit the internet, we would have certainly been like, oh, no, is Aaron Rodgers struggling? I get Mike McCarthy's offense. TJ Watt in a new role in the defense dropping out. It's a jog through. It's an offensive period. What are we doing? That time of year. That's football, baby. But, no, I mean, I think DK had an amazing spring, and he's been killing people. Friar Moose saved a baby, too, the other day. He did. How about that? Yeah, Friar Moose. Yeah, baby Pat. Friar Moose saving babies. But that's Pat in a nutshell. He's got great awareness.
2:03:45Yeah. I hit him on a seam of back shoulder to end practice a couple days ago. Yeah, we got the clip. It was a great touchdown, especially in the red zone. That was actually a live speed drill.
2:03:54Pat McAfee:Oh, it looked like he was wide open. How is the chirping between offense and defense? There's not much. Today was the first day of pads. There's like a couple guys who you can tell are newer guys. I feel like Jaquan Brisker is going to talk a little bit. 51, you know, he got paid, and I felt like – I thought once he got paid he was going to settle down and stop all the shenanigans at practice that hadn't stopped. We love Irving. We love that man. He's a Wisconsin guy. Yeah. Ooh, Stu, Tone has a question for you. Yeah, Aaron, I'm looking at Pat, and I'm looking at DK, and you have Darnell, and you bring over Michael Pittman.
2:04:27That's a lot of big bodies. How do you feel about big body wide receivers? is that more contested catches? Or, like, how do you feel? Because Roman obviously is smaller. He can create separations. But how do you feel about the room as a whole? I like the room a lot. I like the size of our guys. You know, obviously, Darnell is the most athletic, 300-plus player in the league, probably. Yeah. But I think, you know, those two guys, when you're talking to them, they really like what we've been doing in the installs and the offense. And both of them have been making a lot of plays. I really love their work ethic and their attitude.
2:05:02I think that's the most important thing, setting kind of the standard for the room. Roman's grown a lot. I think he's done a nice job in the spring, and he's had some plays as well. He has a different skill set. You know, I say to stick in a league, you have to do something well. And to have a long career, you've got to have an excellent trait. And his is his speed. He is legitimately one of the fastest guys on the field at all times, if not the fastest guy. So when he's using that speed and, you know, he's dangerous. The thing of difference last year, I felt like he was kind of like a deer running around, bouncing around.
2:05:36And now he's like a very finely tuned fast guy where you have to feel like he's playing almost more under control with that top end speed. And he's had a really nice spring and a nice start to camp.
2:05:47Pat McAfee:Can you tell me a little bit more about you and DK's relationship? Because you guys were working out of UCLA before you were a Pittsburgh Steeler, I believe, before it was announced last season. And then obviously last year you guys have some great connections. this offseason. You guys are riding horses together. Now he's obviously over here knowing that you're about to cook the hell out of Tony Fauci. You know, he comes over here. That's my first time getting eyes on this particular... I don't even know what you would say about this. I mean, what is DK like? He is a specimen. I mean, that's a compliment, obviously.
2:06:16Pat McAfee:You're an alien, dude. It is an absurd thing. But what has it been like building and developing with DK? Obviously, you've had great wide receiver connections in the past. This is a very high profile, very public, and a stealer is very abnormal to have this type of wide receiver paid the way that he's paid. What has it been like growing with DK and what do you expect from him this year? My body type, he's like nobody I've ever played with. He weighs 230-ish, high 220s, and he's like 10 % body fat maybe or less. He's an absolute animal. But the thing that you realize, especially after going to Idaho, is you have a lot of closeness with guys on the team.
2:06:57But last year, compared to this year, it felt like we were teammates last year, and this year we're actually really close friends. So that's been really cool. And not that I didn't love him last year. I like that. Not that I didn't love him last year, but we've been able to really bond. He's crying. Oh, no. He's crying over there. To bond and connect in a different way. And it makes a difference, for sure. He's my roommate over here at the dorms. And DK has a big heart. He's got a really big heart, and he really cares about doing things the right way. And I would say that if you want to know, if you're a young player and you want to know what it looks like to be an NFL player and to practice the right way, you should watch DK McKay.
2:07:37Yeah, and you should know you're never going to look like that. Yeah, definitely. But I definitely tried. I wanted DK since he took that picture with AJ back in college. I'm like, can I get one of those guys? One of those guys. Yeah, Ole Miss. How about when he walked? Who did he walk? Buddha? Yeah, it was good. Walked Buda. You remember that, obviously. Maybe play some defense this year. Maybe let's get on. He played a rep of Gunner last year. Yeah, let's get you on the punt team. I remember that. I'd hit a fair catch right at that. I mean, DK's out here. Let's hope to God he doesn't get hurt.
2:08:11Pat McAfee:But also, we just hit to the right side. That's a fair catch immediately. Something to think about. I think those guys are going to piggyback on what I said from earlier, too. They got some stuff. They're coming on. Yeah. Mock and load. I should have heard Moth earlier. Yeah, Moth's got a lot. I think I told him, reminding him that Fauci's wife is Ghislaine Maxwell's sister also. Is that real? That's true. Oh, a legend. That's a legend. Thank you. Jesus Christ. That's a legend. Okay. Thank you for throwing that word in there. That's great news for all of us. Connor has a question for you. Yeah, Aaron, this has been awesome.
2:08:42It's just a real dream for us. Thank you so much. You know, you congratulated me on my marriage last week. I appreciate that. And, you know, I saw the clip of you and Kyle Brand and kind of, you know, what you said about the entire thing, but as from, you know, your perspective, how has marriage changed your life? Like how much better has it been? How, you know, any marriage advice for me? I know everyone says happy wife, happy life, but in particular, is there anything, you know, you've kind of drawn from that has completely changed your perspective and kind of just your entire life? Everything.
2:09:14I mean, the woman's intuition is a real thing. And during this process of thinking if I want to come back or not, you know, obviously she was my biggest ally. in helping me to think about all the different things that goes into it. Because it's not just, oh, I want to play. It's the grind of the season. It's can you be actually fully invested? Then what does it look like? Are you going to go do a trip? How are you going to spend time with the guys? What's your weekend look like? And because it's a strain on not just the player, but on the wife and the family if you have kids. And you're basically all in together.
2:09:45And I wanted us to make a decision together. And, you know, she's incredible. and I'm excited about this year being able to do it one last time and then excited about the next chapter, which is having kids. I know you're adding to it. This guy's got a bunch. Come on. AJ's got way too many, I'd say.
2:10:07Pat McAfee:Now, they're all great kids, but there's no way that you should humanly be able to handle that many children. I don't know how people do that. There's no such thing. Yeah, no such thing. Well, you got a great wife. You don't really do anything. You're just absentee father. You wish. I actually overcommitted. I'm helping coach three youth football teams. So, yeah. Good for you, man. Good for you. I will say the kid thing is crazy because perspective changes, but it sounds like you're saying the same thing because you've gotten married to the person that you think is perfect for you. Yeah, I mean, you know, you make a lot of poor decisions over the years.
2:10:45Well, me, I've made a lot of poor decisions with previous partners over the years. And then you meet the obviously the right person for you. And you go, God, I was a fucking idiot. Yeah, I can imagine.
2:10:57Pat McAfee:Now, super private with this, though. I mean, we're talking about it right now, obviously, because a lot of big decisions have been made. But it's super duper private for you. And I feel like that's very different than every relationship you've had in the past. That's on purpose, I'd assume. Yeah, I'm not forced to write these, you know, horrible Instagram posts. You know, when I'm laying next to the person, I got to give him a birthday shout out. Hold on. On that note, I'd like to say happy anniversary to my wife. And also happy birthday to my wife. Very, very nice. I'm not judging any of that anybody does, but I don't like doing that shit, and I never have to do that ever again, thankfully.
2:11:29Pat McAfee:Yeah, well, I'm just saying, I feel like we're all very happy for you, finding your person. Happy that you're having this freedom. Happy you have the mindset of your last year, because I know there's been a lot of questions for like the last five years, I'd say, probably. The last four years, maybe. Is that right? After 22, yeah. So probably four years you've had questions. Then I got her. But now you have an actual answer. And I was on that other team. I mean, you've had quite a run today. If you would like to say anything about it. We can go back to Fauci. Finish where we started. Okay, on that note, you have a lot of teammates that are vaccinated.
2:12:01Pat McAfee:That's good heading into the season. A lot of people had probably fake VAC cards back in the day, too. Not me. They didn't have a problem with that. I mean, I remember seeing some of the VAC cards. I'm like, it was like written in crayon. I'm like, all right, so we're going to pass that off, but we're going to be second-rate citizens over here. I've got to wear a yellow armband, train in the back, can't be around more than three people. Oh, you know, you've got to wear a mask when you do your interview, and all of us are going to be masked up the entire time back here 20 feet away from you because that's safety first.
2:12:33What a crock of shit we had to go through. Crazy time. What a time. And we survived it. Yes, we all did. We survived it. And you won MVP two times. Twice. That's crazy you did that. That bum couldn't stop at the second time. You know what I mean? Arcoosh. Bum Arcoosh. Hey, we appreciate the hell out of you. I am so pumped to see how you play football this year. I told you I was going to bring it. And you did. And I can't wait to see what you do on the football field. I can't wait to see who ESPN tries to get me to do a sit-down with. For what? It's just so much fun just turning them down every time.
2:13:10No, the one time I sent them a list of like 10 people. This was years ago. I still get great laughs about this. I sent him a list of 10 people, their whole roster. Me and the, I won't say who it was, but we went through the whole roster at ESPN and 10 people that I do a sit-down with and I pick like Teddy Atlas, the ESPN Deportes golf announcer. His face is just a big like. Yes. ESPN caddy. Yeah. Mike Collins. Mike Collins. Mike Collins would be good. Shout out to Teddy Atlas. Marty would be good. Marty McGee would love you. Yeah. Marty McGee would love you. Marty McGee would be good with. Marty Smith?
2:13:44Yeah. Yeah, there we go. Ryan McGee. Ryan McGee. You got something on that? Do they say something about COVID you disagree with? Oh, it sounds like so. We don't know. I don't know. Marty Smith with a sweet hair. Yeah. I love Marty. Okay, good. Well, you didn't say anything after we said his name. Who said Marty McGee? Yeah, Ryan McGee. Ryan McGee. It's his partner. It's their team. They're two Southerns. One of the four horsemen?
2:14:05Pat McAfee:Two Southerns. Yeah. Okay. Not in wrestling, but just at his college. He has three friends. Nah, he probably had a fake bats card. Nah, I don't think so. Don't talk to him about it. Aaron, we're proud of you. We're thankful for you. Thanks a lot, guys. Great to see you. If this was my last time, I thought I'd fucking bring it. You know what I mean? No, I better not be your last time. I said if. Okay, sick. Just like I said a legend about that guy's wife. Yeah. That was good. That was a big word. Great. Yeah, Mark. One more year. No, it won't be one more year. Thank you, though. We'll make a good year this year.
2:14:33Yeah, this is the one more year. This is the year. This is the year. Can I go now? These guys are waiting. Yeah, ladies and gentlemen, four-time MVP, Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers. Aaron, can we get a photo?
2:14:47Aaron,
2:14:54I didn't expect that at all.
2:15:01In a sunny Californian suburb, one family's home is unusually quiet. When detectives walked into that house, they said that it was like time just stood still. It's 2010, and the McStay family is nowhere to be found. Inside the home, no clear answer where the family could have gone. Husband, wife, and two children all gone, like, poof, disappeared. The search for the McStays quickly captures the nation. But for years, the search for answers only brings more questions. Who's ever heard of an entire family going missing? A family of four doesn't just drop off the face of the earth with no contact.
2:15:38Is this a family on the run? Or is the truth far more sinister? From ABC Audio in 2020, this is What Happened to the Mixed Days. Coming August 11th, wherever you get your podcasts. 2:16:10I mean, that had been cooking. I mean, that had been cooking. I mean, everything, just to be 100 % transparent, as I was watching the entire situation unfold. Thank you, Aaron. That guy was called a murderer a lot. Jeez Louise. I mean, jeez Louise. I'll tell you what. I thought maybe there was a chance that he was just gonna let it slide Ladies and gentlemen, that's our movie came back after here. Oh shit. I didn't know he's got those Hey, we know you had those I didn't know you had those Yeah, I did not know that mr. D.K. It's an honor. Sir.
2:17:02Pat McAfee:Mr. Metcalf. Follow that up. Very nice to meet you. Yes, sir. You as well. Good to see you. We're big fans. Did you know Frymouth had those quads and hamstrings like that? Oh, yeah. I did not know he had those. You look like a young stallion, ain't it? Yeah. Well, I mean, it takes one to know in there from you, but I did not know you had two kegs hanging off your hips there, Frymouth. Yeah. Try to. We need to have a little bit more respect. The tailored pants do want to showcase those quads. I like that. Get up high and tight in there. Yeah. Okay, Friar Moose. Let's talk about it. You saved the baby yesterday or two days ago.
2:17:32Thank you, Friar Moose. Thank you for that, Friar Moose.
2:17:35Pat McAfee:Obviously, you go to Penn State. You're a Pittsburgh Steelers through and through. You understand everything about this fan base and this team. Aside from saving a baby amongst two Yinzers getting after it with one Yinzer doing incredible color commentary, what do you think about this year versus maybe years past with new Mike McCarthy in charge? I think it's been great. Coach McCarthy is really big on situational football and practicing those situations. And it's been cool to be a part of that. And it's definitely been different, but it's been fun. So what size pants? It's tough because my legs aren't that long.
2:18:08But my quad is so big, so I have to get some special. 38? You got 38 30s? You got to be like 42s just to be way too big in the waist. Are you wearing 30s? You're wearing 38 long? 38. No, 38 weighs 32 length. Okay, 30. But I have to get a belt. Take the waist. Yeah, because then it's awesome. Yeah, I've been there before. Not like that, though. DK, you are built like a Greek god.
2:18:30Pat McAfee:We are very thankful that we get a chance to see you here in real life. It is real what you see on the internet with this thing. It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable, dude. You're fucking – it's outrageous how athletic you are. How does it feel having Aaron Rodgers as your quarterback yet another year? Because I feel like last year there were some special moments, maybe just getting started? Does it feel like it's going to take another step? And why do you think it will take another step? Yeah, I mean, number one, from the reasons that he spoke on earlier, we definitely got a chance to get to know each other on a more intimate level.
2:18:58You know, this offseason. Last year we were still like teammates. I didn't want to mess up. He didn't want to mess up. We were just like not on the same page a couple times. But this is going to be special this year. So you're on one horse. He was on another one. Benny Scow is falling off his horse back here. And you're like – And Pitt was on the one.
2:19:17Pat McAfee:Okay, because he's actual farmer, by the way. Pittman, actual farmer. We will definitely get into that. The conversations you're having about life out there in the middle of Idaho is kind of what happened. And do you wish you guys would have done that maybe earlier? No, I think it happened at the perfect time. Right before training camp. So we can all go in on the same accord. We know what we came to do. We spoke on goals, spoke on family, spoke on, you know, what we got to get better at, spoke on life. And, shit, that's all I need to hear from somebody. Were you smoking cigs out there? No. Were you smoking cigs out there?
2:19:46It's just a picture, brother. I was about to say, if you look like it, you ain't smoking cigs. I was about to get into it. AJ has a question. Yeah, Moose, I guess for you, we hear all this talk about Coach McCarthy's level of detail now. What does that mean? What does that mean for you as an offense? Just the route depth, what kind of angle you're taking on your release, what leverage you're attacking. If the defense does a certain thing, what are you going to do to the staff? Just heightened under Coach Mike and his staff? Yeah, it's awesome. It's really cool. AJ, do you know he had these? No, this is actually scary to see how big your legs are.
2:20:21You guys are both complete freaks. It's the power. You guys aren't even humans. Yeah, this is disgusting. What's going on? I played in the right time. I couldn't play it anymore. I couldn't play it. I don't know if I could block you, though. I don't think I could block you. I would run away from you. Trust me. I'm not taking you on. But please. It's Darnell Washington exists as well. No, that's what I'm like. Big. You guys coming off the bus. To play against these dudes, come on.
2:20:41Pat McAfee:Big team. Everybody. Everybody, Pittman's a giant too. It feels like you guys got studs all over the place. Most amount of talent, I mean, your Seattle team's had some absolute. Feels like you guys got a lot of talent on this offense. Feel good going into the year with what's possible? Yes, sir, for sure. What are the goals? Hey, we'll be the best offense in the NFL, or we'll just do whatever the hell we got to do to win? I mean, whatever we put out there on the field, I think it's going to be the best, so. Great answer. Yeah. Hey, that was a good answer. Sweet teeth, too. Are those, is that in your tooth?
2:21:07Yes, sir. So that's there forever? Yeah. God, I need one of those. I need one of those. D-Buds got a question for you. Recently, we watched Adam Thielen. I think he was on ESPN NFL Live, I believe, talking about kind of the anxiety. You already know what's coming. The anxiety that comes from playing with the quarterback or playing like Aaron Rodgers specifically with the signals and all those type of things. I know that takes time. But now going into year two for both of you guys with him, how much has that changed? How much more comfortable are you now with eight back there calling signals, you know, pre-play?
2:21:36I mean, a year under our belt, we know what to expect. Like, we know he's going to look at the defense, give a hard count, you know, go through his progressions and everything. But the main thing is we're ready for it now. Last year it was just like, all right, he may give us something that's going to light up in front of the play. But, no, it's all eyes on eight right now. Gotcha.
2:21:53Pat McAfee:How does it feel with Mike McCarthy in there? Does it feel different a little bit? How different does it feel with him? Because there's been some offense coordinator conversation around Pittsburgh for since Todd Haley maybe? Since Todd, yeah. I'd say probably since Todd Haley there's been convos. How does it feel with Mike McCarthy leaving the team, Fryer Muth? It's fun. Him and Aaron are always on the same page and seeing eye to eye. And it's definitely a lot different offense than Pittsburgh has seen in the past, which is exciting. It's great. What does that mean? Since seven was here. Yeah, since seven was here, actually.
2:22:26It's going to be good, somebody said back here. It's unbelievable. I don't like that they did that. Tone has a question for you. One of my favorite things from last year, probably not your guys' favorite thing, Aaron would get so visually mad on the field. all the time. But I kind of love that because there was a lot of younger quarterbacks before that, so there wasn't a lot of responsibility that was being taken account for. Do you take that personally when he's young on the field, or is it just something you go to the sideline and fix really quickly? How does that work? You want to be perfect, especially for somebody like that of his caliber, one of the best to ever play this game.
2:22:59You want to be perfect out there on the field to where he trusts you to come back to you again and again and again to where, like I said, man, you want to be perfect for him so you can get the ball. It did feel like it was directed at 88 quite a bit. Most of the time. A lot of the time. You didn't hear from me, but I'm joking.
2:23:17Pat McAfee:What year is this for you, DK? Eight. Wow. Old man, though. Oh, hell no. I'm a spread chicken right now. How does body feel? Is there anything? I mean, we look at you and we see a specimen. We have since we first saw you. I mean, who was it? Pete Carroll took his shirt off, right? Was that the entire? was that with you right that's how that's how we got introduced to you on a national level and it's like holy hell what's going on there now you're eight years into it how much have you changed with what you do are you the same are you lighter heavier what where are you kind of at as a body just so we know what we need to be aiming for for the human species no i'm about the same body weight but i have changed up my habits i know i i messed up a lot of kids diets talking about i eat three bags of candy i remember that yeah that was a while ago i was young you know yeah different guy yeah exactly man i'm juicing it up i'm eating two meals a day now and drinking a lot of water okay very yeah because you can't be doing candy with those exactly yeah i can't mess up exactly how long have they been in there uh i got these in 21 20 20 or 21.
2:24:16Pat McAfee:oh so i've missed it about five years well it's the first time seeing you in real life i just want to let you know if i would have seen you five years ago my first thing would have been like holy you got cool in your teeth that's what i would have said it looks awesome appreciate it mike mccarthy Are you going to get him working out with you, you think? God, what is that? Don't bring me in, man. I'm talking to you. For what? Nuh-uh. That was obviously gold. That was a thick sweatshirt. He could look however he wanted, man. Low he called him plays. That was a thick sweatshirt he was wearing today.
2:24:44I can see it. I can envision it. He always wore long sleeves. He'd been in Green Bay back in the day. He said he's super Irish, so the sun, you know, quite an enemy. So he says he kind of keeps himself covered. That's a good idea. Like what he said, we used to pour oil on ourselves. You know, get a little tanned up. He said, now I got to do it differently.
2:24:59Pat McAfee:You guys paying attention to your colleges? Yeah, for sure. Hey, how do we feel about Lane, man? Week three should be a lot of fun. Who? Oh, yeah. About who? I like that who. Oh, yeah. Yeah. We don't speak on nobody that ain't inside the organization. We're talking about Ole Miss. Exactly. How do we feel about the team? Winnedad might be the best quarterback we've seen in the college rank. What do you call him? Winnedad. Winnedad. Yeah. That's my boy. Yeah. I was in Oxford this all season, and so I got to spend a lot of time with a lot of the guys over there. I've never been down there. We're going down there.
2:25:31Pat McAfee:It hasn't been announced. We're going to be down there for that game week three. What should we expect out of that place? I've heard nothing but great things. What you want, man, because, you know, this is my hometown. So you want food, recommendations, where to play stay. I would like to know how I can look like you, yes. Give me the food. Give me the whole thing. You blame your mom and dad for that. Sally and Tim, they don't deserve that. Well, kind of, I think, actually, with the way it all works. I think they are to blame. Shout out to you guys, though. It's going to be insane, though, right?
2:25:56Pat McAfee:Yeah, it's going to be Pat. Yes, sir. And then Penn State, come on now. Yeah, I'm hoping for the best. Hoping for the best. I don't know what to expect. I don't know what to expect. He brought in a lot of guys from Iowa State. Great program over there. And I'm excited. I'm excited to see what goes on. Yeah. I'll tell you, I don't like the way you Penn Staters operate. We'll ask AQ the question. and then on air he goes, I got a lot of faith. And then off camera he goes, these guys fucking suck. And I'm like, I like that you guys have to be supportive because it's the way it is. But you guys have a lot of questions going into this season.
2:26:36A lot of questions. I don't know what to expect. I was up there this offseason for a day or two and it was cool. They got a lot of new guys, new faces. This is probably the first offseason I knew no one in the locker room.
2:26:47Pat McAfee:Is Pat Kraft hitting you up for money? No. Not yet. Not yet. I don't know how much you wanted to win. I know you're certainly paying for that Ole Miss football team. Hold on, my bad what? You said paying. I was shaking my head for my arm. What the hell? No. No. Okay. We appreciate you joining us. We appreciate what you're doing for the Steelers. Thank you for representing Pennsylvania for so damn long. I like that you're built like that and representing the state. I do. I certainly love that. Got married this summer. Who? I did. Shout out to the wife. That's smart. That's really smart. I don't know what you just did there.
2:27:24Pat McAfee:Do you enjoy camp away? What did you guys do in Seattle? Did you come up to like this? We was at the facility in Seattle, but this is different. I enjoy it, yes sir. Have you gone to the ice cream? Do you eat ice cream? Yeah, he does. When did I eat ice cream? When have you seen me eat ice cream? Idaho. I know your teammates better than you. Because it was homemade in Idaho, bruh. Oh, it seemed to be awesome. Yeah. It was homemade. It was like they were milking a cow in front of us. They went the best vibes out there. Who carried the party? Or maybe it wasn't a party. Who had the best vibes out of Nido?
2:27:56Sko. Sko, yeah. Benny Sko. Big vibes guy.
2:27:59Pat McAfee:He wasn't posted in Michael Pittman's photo dump Instagram, so we thought maybe there was a little drama, you know, because Sko was not in any of the photos of Pittman. Yeah, Pitt put out a hell of a summer IG post, and Benny Sko did not make it. Sko was not a part of it. You were in there, obviously. You were as well. Yeah. Benny Sko definitely would get mad at that, too. He would get mad at that. You guys have a great locker room, it feels like, right? great locker room you guys like each other yeah yeah you're the man good luck boys
2:28:35thank you sir
2:28:42how much you weigh How much you went to one? I'll get a move. We're waiting for a time. That's outrageous dude. I like that. See you boy. What the hell is going on with his legs? Did we know that about fryer moose legs? Yes. I don't know you're over here. Good to see you dude. Michael Pittman Jr. Ladies and gentlemen. I had no idea he was here. Great to see you, Pitt. Just not getting there. Unbelievable. Is this seat for me? Yes, it absolutely is if you're here. Oh, this is live right now? Yeah. Oh, heck yeah. Let's go. Right in it. Yes, sir.
2:29:31Pat McAfee:I am so bummed, dude. I am so bummed that you're a Pittsburgh Steeler. I don't know if you saw the live reaction of us. I don't know how on the internet you are. When I learned that you were gone, I was, I'd say, devastated. I was absolutely devastated because I know that you would actually die on a football field for your team. You've done that for the Colts multiple times. You were already hurt. You tried to break your back in between two guys. And when we were already out of the playoffs, you were everything good about a football culture, I believe, from what we've seen in Indianapolis. So you coming to Pittsburgh, I fucking hated it.
2:30:07Pat McAfee:But now, obviously, I'm very happy for you, and I'm happy for the Steelers as a whole. How has it been as a Steeler? And when you learn, you're going to be moving on from the Colts. What is that like? Because we will miss you. And we appreciate what you did for Indianapolis. Yep. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, I mean, like, it was definitely a tough situation, but I think that it was time, right? And when it started to happen and I didn't know, hey, like, is it going to be here, here, or here? Like, I just felt like the Steelers, like, was, like, the best spot because of Aaron, because of Coach Mike, and just, like, their, like, passing style and just knowing that, hey, we have DK, we have Pat, we got Darnell, and we got a bunch of, like, weapons and just, like, being able to just jump in and just get going.
2:30:56So everything's, like, been good, you know. Family's here. I got a house. I'm actually selling my house in Indy. So if anybody wants 40 acres, call me up. What part of the town? Zionsville.
2:31:12Pat McAfee:Okay, so you've got 40 acres in Zionsville. Let's hang on to that. You never know when you're coming back to the Colts. You never know when you're coming back to the Colts. You talked about all those things with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the offense. DK Metcalf getting paid the amount of money that he got paid for never playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers at the wide receiver position. Very abnormal. You getting paid the amount of money that you've gotten paid without being a Pittsburgh Steeler, follow suit, very abnormal. Whenever you talk to Khan and we talk to McCarthy, it's very evident that the Super Bowl is what we're here for, and obviously that's the entire goal.
2:31:42Pat McAfee:And on the offensive side, what should expectations be, you think? Absolutely. I mean, I think that any time that you have a quarterback who is the caliber of Aaron, I think that's always the goal, and I think that's what he's thinking, and that's really why I came here. Steelers haven't had a losing record in I don't know how long, as long as I can think of. Yeah, 23 years. Nailed it. Same with confidence. So I'm here for that. I'm trying to help them take that next step and just help in any way that I can. I hate that you're not. AJ has a question for you, Phil. Yeah, I guess you're kind of all on the same.
2:32:24This is a new team for you, obviously, but this is the new coaching staff that came in here. So you're all kind of on the same level playing field. but all trying to prove yourself to this new coaching staff. I guess, what is that like? I think that can kind of energize the team as well and make everybody, some guys that maybe have been comfortable, all of a sudden realize, yeah, I can't be comfortable anymore. I've got to re-prove myself again. Absolutely, yeah. I mean, just because this coaching staff, I mean, nobody knows. I mean, guys know reps and, hey, this guy has done this. But you've got to prove it every single year.
2:32:56And I guess the guys who have been comfortable here, I mean, I'm definitely not comfortable because I have to learn a new playbook. I've got to learn all of Aaron's signs and signals and everything. So I'm just trying to get it all in and have fun. What's that been like, trying to learn all of that so far?
2:33:11Pat McAfee:I heard you've got to have a big brain. Yeah, it's got to be like suit. It just has to be second nature. I can imagine coming up with a line of scrimmage. If you're not sure, how does that work? Why don't you say something terrible about your quarterback right now? No, I mean, it's definitely fun. There you go. Aaron, let's just say I thought that I knew football, and then I met Aaron, and then I realized that I have a lot more football to learn. So I'll just say it like that. A lot of homework, studying, is that what we're doing? Yeah, but, I mean, like, you study whether you're a seven-year vet or a first-year rook.
2:33:48Pat McAfee:Yeah, and I think Aaron treats everybody the exact same, and he would hope for the same the other way. Go ahead, Tone. Yeah, we just had, obviously, Pat and DK up here, and we talked about Darnell and then there's you. Between the tight end room and the wide receiver room, we talked about like in high school, you had the biggest, baddest guys get off the bus first. Where do you think, in what order do you think you would get off the bus? That's a good question. I mean, if we're going in like weight category, it's probably got to be Darnell, Pat, and then depending on the day, it could be me or DK.
2:34:16Really? Yeah.
2:34:17Pat McAfee:What are you, what are your dims? Huh? Your dims. Dimms? Dimensions, height, weight. Oh, oh. 6 '4", right now I'm floating between 225 to 230. Oh, so you're the same as DK. You look the exact same as DK. You guys are absolute giants. Yeah, but DK is a little more cut up than me. DK is kind of a specimen, like some would say. Yeah, we said that to his face a couple times. And I think he took it as a compliment. And then I said, we got him a creature. And I took it one step further and I said, this thing. And then he kind of responded there, but he is. I mean, it is outrageous what he's built. Like, you too, bud.
2:34:56Pat McAfee:I can't believe the Steelers have all of you. Ty has a question for you, Pitt.
2:34:59Aaron Rodgers:Yeah, listen, I know you've probably played in shitty weather games before, obviously, because you've been in the NFL, but you're a USC guy, you know, and in the division you used to be in, you got two domes, and then you got pretty decent weather in Tennessee most of the year in Jacksonville. You're coming up here, and listen, you're going to be playing in some dog shit weather. Cold, rainy, snowy. Have you thought about that at all and how that might, you know, kind of change? I mean, like Pat said, you're willing to die on the field. We know what kind of style of play you have. But have you thought about that at all, that just, like, the conditions on game day are going to be much different in this division than they were in the AFC South?
2:35:34Yeah. I actually think that some of my best games have, like, come in, like, monsoon, cold. Hell yeah. And I just have that, like, mindset that I just want to be out there more than he wants to be out there. And then that's kind of what I tell myself.
2:35:50Pat McAfee:Yeah, that's kind of Aaron's thing with Green Bay. Embrace the suck. Akersher's going to be wild. Cleveland Browns are working their ass off right now. They look good. Cincinnati Bengals are going to punch you in the mouth. They're punching each other in the face right now. They can't wait to punch you in the face. I saw that. I did. That was cool. I like that. I like a little bit of action. And then the Baltimore Ravens, let's look at it twisted. They're going to want to kill you. Yeah. I seen that Derek Henry, or yeah, Derek was throwing those little sandbags. Exit people, yeah. Crazy stuff.
2:36:23Any fights here yet? No, none. None? Just in the crowd. Yes, just in the crowd. And shout out Pat for saving the kid. Yeah, on Song Hero. Yep, yep. Shout out Pat. Muth, baby.
2:36:37Pat McAfee:I'm going to be honest, I can't believe he can get around with those legs. Those things are outrageous. Everybody talks about Saquon's thighs and shit. Fryer Muth with those little daisy dukes.
2:36:48Aaron Rodgers:I might have been doing the same workouts. They might have been. That was obnoxious what those things were. I mean, you got to get those checked. He did get them personalized so that he shows them off. Yeah, of course.
2:36:58Pat McAfee:Him wearing jeans, I couldn't even imagine the amount of just – D-Bud has the last question for you here. Yeah, going to this point in your career, DK kind of talked about changing his diet, how he ruined a bunch of kids' diets, talking about three bags of candy with you being a farmer. I assume you live off the land a little more. But how have you changed with your body in the offseason going into this season? And have you found any farmland out here yet? Yeah, good question. Yeah, so I have looked at farmland, and there's nothing yet, but, you know, coming down. Because I have about 16 head of cattle now that I have a friend that's, like, taking care of them now.
2:37:36And then back to the diet question is I just stopped eating as much carbs. I try to cut out any type of, like, dessert and stuff like that. Just really focus on drinking water. And if it's something that's not water, it's like some type of hydration drink with like electrolytes and stuff like that. You need to talk to Brett Kiesel. He's got a farm around here somewhere. He's got cattle on it. Why don't you go buy some land and plum? I don't even know where that's at. Well, fucking learn. Okay. All right.
2:38:11Pat McAfee:Jeez Louise. Okay. Have a little respect for the Mustangs. Okay. This entire city is going to love you, man. the whole state, the entire Steelers nation is going to love you. We were very lucky to watch you play with Indianapolis. We are very thankful for you, man. Honestly, we tried to find the clip of me just being so bummed out live on air whenever I found it because you said you felt like it was time was ever. Yeah. I didn't know that. Yeah. I had no idea. I was super bummed. You're ready for DJ round two. Oh, my God. Pitman. DJ's a beast. Okay. DJ's a beast. Go ahead. and he is probably one of the toughest guys I've ever been around.
2:38:50Works super hard, and I can't say enough good things about him. Sweet. Yes. I like to hear that. But when we play him, we're not friends. But after that, then we're friends again. Okay, I understand.
2:39:05Pat McAfee:I respect him. And I'm going to let you know that when you play against the Indianapolis Colts. You win! You win, yeah, that is how it works. No, no, it's a battle. Okay, it's an absolute battle. We will definitely, where's that game at? Do we play you guys? It's here. It's here. Week six. I was about to say, in Indy, I think you would have got a, on the way in. You'll get one here, too. Don't worry. Yeah, we'll see. Thank you. We'll see. No, Indy loves you regardless. These people? These people? Yes, sir. You're going to have to do some stuff. Appreciate you guys. Nah, yeah, we'll see. Okay, just know whenever they get mad at you, we love you in Indy.
2:39:40Just know that.
2:39:41Pat McAfee:Okay, this is not tampering. I don't make any decisions, but we'd love to have you back in Indianapolis. I know your first season as a Steeler hasn't started yet. We would love to get you back in Indy. And Grand Park right now, could you imagine? Oh, so much fun. All right, and good luck with the Steelers. You're the man. Ladies and gentlemen, it's Michael Pimmons. Thank you. Thank you, guys. I appreciate you guys. Thank you, buddy. Anytime. Appreciate it. Good luck. See you. Thank you. Good luck. Good luck. Good luck. Good luck. Good luck. Good luck. Good luck. Good luck. Good luck. Good luck.
2:40:08Good luck. Good luck. Yeah, there's a legend. See you, Pitt. Thanks, Pitt. All right, Pitt. Hey, Pitt, have you ever had a smiley cookie? Oh, of course. Oh, he can. He doesn't eat sweets. Oh, no, it's a sweet. It's a sweet. Okay, he's coming back. He's taking it for his family. Hey, can I just tell you? This is from Eaton Park. They are famous, but they're shit, so don't... Oh, no. No, these are good. Just like those sandwiches we had in the draft. Also, enjoy that. Enjoy that. Enjoy that. Enjoy that. That doesn't come out until August 17th. Don't tell anybody. If you're from Pittsburgh, you know the Eaton Park cookie is very, very famous, but it tastes like dog shit.
2:40:46I will say this. Cheyenne's Latrobe Eaton Park is not cardboardy. These ones are fresh. They were fresh. Very fresh. Thank you. Gumpy was looking up at the cookie, and he was saying, hey. You don't always get the fresh one. After I sunned Smiley, I had one. No, you didn't sun Smiley. Smiley was about to smack you right in the mouth. If you want to go to Oakmont Bakery, that's a different story. Couldn't get in.
2:41:08Pat McAfee:Didn't get into Oakmont Bakery last time I was in town. They told me to leave. It's very crowded. It's about 20 minutes left there. We're closing up.
2:41:14Aaron Rodgers:It's an unbelievable place.
2:41:16Pat McAfee:Oakmont Bakery is the spot, though.
2:41:18Aaron Rodgers:20 minutes left, though?
2:41:19Pat McAfee:Well, I think they had a line, so it was kind of cut off. At the end of the night, they had a line. That's what Oakmont Bakery is. We need to go back. Maybe we go to see a pick. Remember, Indianapolis will always want you. If these people boo you out of here. Whoa. We'll see just you. Yes. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is our Pittsburgh Steelers correspondent, a man who is obviously on the beat, on X. You need to read it because if you don't, you don't know what's going on. He's standing near the Port-A-John, and now he'll be making his way right up here. Ladies and gentlemen. Just clueless.
2:41:56You get a camera on that? He was just clueless. What's wrong, Ty? Ladies and gentlemen, Marker Boyle. Everybody, boy! Good colors. Good colors. I thought it was DK. Cabolos. Hell yeah. Cabolos. Thank you, Cabolos. Good to see you, pal. Thank you, sir. Appreciate it. Good to see you, brother. Good to see you guys. A little different building. Marcus, good to see you. How you doing? A little different building, Muth. A little bit. Did you put your SummerSlam report out yet, Cabolos? I listened to the preview, actually.
2:42:27Pat McAfee:You should have that on your left side. There you go. There you go. Yeah. I'm an expert now. How'd your picks do? Are you really? Hey, how'd you do? First of all, I hope you wrote good about SummerSlam. I think it was a good show. Well, it was a great show. You said you're an expert now. The right side's nowhere near your ear, but I like you. That'd be the left side. Thanks. Do you want me to help you get that right one on your ear? I'm a one-ear guy. Oh, he's like a drummer. I'm a one-ear guy. Yeah, he's got to hear it. Yeah, okay, my bad. He wants to hear the crowd. You know I'm a one-ear guy?
2:43:00I'm a two-ear guy right now.
2:43:01Pat McAfee:Yeah, we understand. Hey, listen, DJ, take that thing out. We need to hear what the response is. For you, Caboli, it's big pops. We'll speak about the SummerSlam pops later. Can you tell me about the Steelers this year versus last year? You were one of the ones that were reporting about, hey, it feels different. It seems different. It looks different. What is the difference that you're seeing, feeling, and how do you think it ends up working out for the Steelers? Well, the whole thing is different. I mean, from the way they practice to the way they prepare. Mike McCarthy and his way he just runs practice has just been different.
2:43:31I mean, it's speed, pace, quickness. Everything that you didn't see. Everything that we've not really seen for 20 years right now. I'm watching my weight. Nice. I like that. You do look good. Although they're looking pretty good.
2:43:48Pat McAfee:Thank you. Yeah, they're pretty soft. But everything's different. Just feels different. Yeah, it's just a different vibe. I mean, it's what it's expected to be. You have a coach who's been around for 20 years. You've got a guy who's experienced coming in, like McCarthy, has his own way of doing things, and it's very noticeable out there what he's done. And Mike McCarthy has been extremely impressive. Yeah. Impressive. What did you think? You think he was not going to be maybe? Did you think coming in, oh, they hired an old sack? Oh, this guy, he's a yinzer. Why would we hire the same guy as Tomlin?
2:44:19Pat McAfee:Is that natural instincts like most yinzers? I think a lot of people in the city thought that right away. Not you. Wait, wait. Maybe a little bit. But the opening press conference, he just knocked it out of the ballpark. Half of the people probably turned, if not more than half the people, turned to being Mike McCarthy. I like this guy. He's more than just a dumb yinzer, right? He knows the ball. Then you get to know him more. You hang out with him at the owner's meeting, the combine. You hear him talk, and you're like, this guy is very bright offensively. And I think that's what a lot of people are really excited about.
2:44:53You got the offensive mind here. the first time maybe ever and it's just a different vibe here and McCarthy's very impressive, he's very cerebral he knows exactly what he's doing at every moment, everything's to the second, the first practice and I mentioned this to him ended at 12.46 on the sheet, right? 11.30 to 12.46, something like that I'm like Mike, are you really going to hit 12.46 that exactly? went over by three seconds.
2:45:25Pat McAfee:Well, he's got 105 minutes. He's got an entire practice. He's got to put 105, plan it for 102 minutes. He's got 105 minutes in here because of the new rules. Now all these coaches, modern coaches, complain about these new rules and lack of time. It's because of what they used to do. We had to remind it to them. Hey, 15 days, two-a-days is what led us to this particular point. But developing a team is a big deal. Feels like McCarthy would like to do that. The way he goes about doing things has been the same. He wins a lot of football games. Do you think it's good for the Steelers at this exact time the way McCarthy operates?
2:45:55Yes, absolutely.
2:45:56Pat McAfee:A lot of old guys on the team. That's right. Cam Hayward said that they clap it up at the beginning of every meeting, and he said it took them a little bit to get on board with it. But there is a lot of older dogs here. Brand new tricks coming in with McCarthy. Your thoughts on that? Yeah, but there's still probably three-quarters of the team that all they know is Tomlin for a year or two. It wasn't like a lot of his team's turned over over the past couple of years. But you have to get the old farts on board, right? You have to get the Haywards, the Watts, those guys. Aaron's always been on board with him.
2:46:24They get him on board like that, then it just trickles down to it, the rest of the team. But I wasn't a big fan of just needing to change for a sense of change until the change came. The change came, then you're like, oh, this is what they needed.
2:46:40Pat McAfee:Yeah, you're feeling that right now. It feels like everybody. Ty has a question for you, Caboli.
2:46:43Aaron Rodgers:Yeah, Caboli, listen, I would ask you a Seeler's question, but there's one thing on my mind, and it's SummerSlam. because we went through, we made our picks on Friday for the two-night event. Looking back on it, I think you said something about how Rollins and Reigns was maybe the greatest main event of all time. Does that say toilet in there? Yeah, and I'll tell you what I did. I went and took a huge shit during Finn Balor and Sami Zayn. And that's KO. What's wrong with KO? No, nothing. I didn't know he was going to – but, you know, the card, the way he was sitting. No, he fits perfect with Sami.
2:47:18Aaron Rodgers:Yeah, I said, I'm going to go take a dump. Give me just kind of a quick takeaway here. SummerSlam, was this the greatest PLE of all time, the greatest one you've covered? Kind of walk me through this. How should I be thinking about this coming from one of the foremost voices in the WWE? It was a very solid program from start to finish. I like that. And it was really good week two or day two. What I really liked was Roman Reigns, and we know that you have a relationship with him on the show. Do you talk about this relationship that the whole world has with him?
2:47:51Pat McAfee:Thank you. Yeah. I mentioned something on the Twitter machine yesterday about him being maybe part of a Mount Rushmore of WWE wrestlers. If he's not there, he's darn close. And he showed last night extremely. Who else is up there?
2:48:05Aaron Rodgers:Who's he going on Mount Rushmore with? Why are you going to stone cold? Stone cold. The Rock. Why?
2:48:11Pat McAfee:I am a real American. Holzer, dude. Come on, dude. Ric Flair. Take. That's the tough part. You need like three Mount Rushmore. Yeah, but you can. Who's your first? Mount Rushmore A, who would it be? Probably the Hulkster has to be on it. Has to. He has to be on it. Austin. You have to throw the taker on it. I'm not going to throw Roman on there quite yet. Dean Malenko. The Pittsburgh Steelers social media team. Final balls. The Pittsburgh Steelers, you did put Roman on to the Mount Rushmore, by the way. You tweeted that. Now you just said you're not going to do it. You know, he has to be in that conversation.
2:48:45Pat McAfee:Yeah, push comes to shove. I get it. The Pittsburgh Steelers social media. Social media teams around the NFL or something, I would say.
2:48:53Aaron Rodgers:They're great.
2:48:54Pat McAfee:Are they? Well, I think a lot of them are ass. Okay. Not saying the Pittsburgh Steelers one is. Don't know them that well. But wanted me to do a Pittsburgh Steelers Mount Rushmore. Sure. Yeah, right. I'm not doing that. I'm going to knock the shit out of that thing. I mean, Caboli basically did it. Who is it, Cabols? We saw the list. I can. Yeah, yeah. Here's the funniest part. No, Steelers are wrestling. But you give me all this crap for not putting San Antonio Holmes on the list, right? That's probably an oversight by me. Guess who was here first day of practice? San. Did he say something to you?
2:49:28He gave me a side look. Yeah, I'm sure he saw it.
2:49:31Pat McAfee:Yeah, we definitely all see it. Well, you guys were talking it up enough, probably. We definitely all see it. I mean, the guy that does the Colts Hall of Fame voting, he didn't even pick me to be the Colts all-time punter. Who was? I don't know. and then some guy from back in the day because he could have done what I did if he wanted to. Of course. Of course he could have. And I definitely saw his list. Everybody sees your shit. Everybody will see your list if you're ready, especially if you're an authority on the team. Sure. Especially because they think you're shaping a lot of people's thoughts on their legacies.
2:50:01Pat McAfee:So whenever you leave Santana out there, it's quite an interesting play. Honestly. It's a hard thing to do putting the top 25 in the last 25 years. You leave Jerome Bettis off there too. Here's the thing with Bettis. Not enough years. Okay. Yes. He He only played in my list of 25 years would have been 0-2, 0-3, 0-4, and 0-5, right? Did he do good? Did he win a Super Bowl then or no? He didn't really start in 0-4, 0-5. Did they win a Super Bowl or no? Well, then you could give the lime a sweet, too, then. Shut up. Okay. You didn't put Tony in the top 25? Is that the list I've seen right now? I probably messed up.
2:50:34Oh, I thought you said top four. He was only here for four years. Well, I know why you're giving me gruff. How about the toe touch? I know. I messed up. You want me to say I messed up? We like that accountability. That's good. I messed up. Who are you taking off? That's all I say. Who are you taking off?
2:50:49Pat McAfee:Aaron's going to like what you just did. With all due respect. Aaron's going to like what you just did, owning up to the wrong. We are not going to say any names that we should take off because they're all great, and we appreciate them all. Ben Roethlisberger being number one, most tenured stealer of all time. Has he been up to camp? Have you guys seen him? I've watched him. I've not seen him. Really? Him and Spence doing that podcast. Him and Spank. Spank. Why aren't they up here? Why aren't they up here doing? They'll get up here. Seven will be here. I think so, too. I've seen a handful. I mean, Joey Porter was here today.
2:51:18Love that. Bert Kiesel was here today.
2:51:19Pat McAfee:We talked to Brett. He had great energy. Dapped us up. Had big mitts on us. Sharky's obviously won two last night. Sharky's on the pier. Got a chance to experience that this morning. A couple mangoes. What are those? Icy Light mangoes. No, I did not have any mangoes. Jack and Diets. Just feed them. Happy birthday to Riley. She was our waitress last night. She was celebrating a birthday. Sharky's, though, legendary place. I believe there's a few other spots. What's this ice cream spot? It's literally five feet to the right. How did you guys miss it?
2:51:48Aaron Rodgers:It's behind. It's technically the pier. We looked it up. No, no, no, the ice cream place. We looked it up. It was closed. Yeah, it was like, you see where the pier was? You looked outside the pier, and there it was. Yeah, we did. We saw it. It opened at 6 a.m. this morning. Yeah. Did you go? We almost did. No.
2:52:02Pat McAfee:We weren't out. We did Eaton Park last night about midnight. I see. It was closed. Cheyenne opened it up. Just for you? Basically, yeah. I appreciate Cheyenne doing that. You want one? Get in there. Come on. Even eyeballs. Hell, yeah. Am I supposed to eat it? Can you eat it in one bite? Oh. That's interesting. I bet he can. There's no way he can do that. There's no way. I'll go for it. I'll go for it. I'll go for it. Come on. One bite. Let me go for it one bite, and then you go for it. You go back. Am I allowed to break it into pieces? In your mouth. Oh, you want to break into pieces, stack it, and do it all?
2:52:33Can I do that? Yeah. Not a bad idea. I think he was looking for you to kind of shove that thing right now. I just lost it. This is like the cracker charge We got it. We got it at the same time. Oh fuck. Yeah, cookie looks real good guys I'll do it.
2:52:44Aaron Rodgers:Get in there. Get in there Mark. Oh jeez You lost Pat long Thank you for doing that Oh my god, it's all coming out Everybody's in his hand. It looks a little dry. Hey you won though, you won. You won. Oh my gosh. You beat me Mark You got a dog that can't eat the crumbs? He's a terrible guy. You got him? Yeah, thank you. What do you think about this Steelers offense? Oh, my God, dude. You all right, Mark? There you go. Here's a bottle of water. What hasn't been a new workout routine? Hey, real quick, real quick.
2:53:18Pat McAfee:You stay on him real quick. Can you put your hand just like this? Just put your hand like this. Just do one of those real quick. Yeah, just go ahead. Just go ahead. Yeah. All right, sweet. Go ahead. Exactly. The Bulls, who's been the most impressive? Who's been the most impressive newcomer? Rookie or free agent? It's on your nose. Kabols, who's it been? What do you want me to do? Kaboli, who's it been? Is there a puppy walking around eating these crumbs? We need to do it. Wow, I got it. Pretty good. Do another one? Never eat one of those again. Bet you can't do it again. Most impressive newcomer, rookie or free agent?
2:54:02I can't think right now. It's like hot ones. Got a cookie brain freeze? Best newcomer. Michael Pittman. Yeah, rookie or free agent. You're struggling. Jeremy Bernard, Caden Weachin. Michael Pittman. Rico Dottle. You know who I do like? I mean, he's way, way, way, way, way underneath the radar here. But Robert Tunyon's looking pretty good. Bobby Tunyon has been looking good. He's looking pretty doggone good. 11 touchdowns in what? 2000, 2002? Yeah, Bill Howard has been throwing him the shit out of the ball. Yeah, he's been looking really good. You got to give a shout out to Fryer Moufer lifting the kid out of danger.
2:54:39He's on newcomer though. He's a great guy.
2:54:41Pat McAfee:How about Eli Heidenreich? Yeah, he's, I mean, he has an uphill battle because there's a couple guys that do similar things than him, but he has the talent. You can see his... So good, isn't it? His ability. What's up, man? I referred to him as a, right away, he reminded me of Christian McCaffrey. I got hammered for that. But probably rightfully so on that one, too. But he has those tendencies, right? The measurables. Yes. Very similar to that. Skill set. What do you think your tendencies are if you were to be judged from outside in? What do you think Mark Caboli's tendencies would be? A little negative, maybe?
2:55:18Nah, you know, I'm a positive guy. I agree. My tone's kind of negative. I agree. You know what tone is? He's a waffler. Oh. Yep. right would you guys agree yeah oh yeah how do you feel about tony you guys kind of i like to say uh chameleon amoeba spineless yes see i went to bell vernon so i don't know what amoeba means

Wow. I was ready to go get it last night. We had a springer van. You know where there's a casino right up the road? What? Right in Greensburg. Live table? Yes. Right up the road. You could have went 10 minutes. Where were you? Thank God we did it. Thank God we did it. Alright, Cabolas, we're going to get the hell out of here. We appreciate you joining us.
2:56:11Pat McAfee:Thank you all so much for hanging. That's for you right there. We'll come out and talk to them, obviously. We'll be back tomorrow. An amoeba is a tiny, single-celled organism known for its changing shape, movement, using false feet, and engulfing food.
2:56:25Aaron Rodgers:Yep, perfect.
2:56:26Pat McAfee:That is what Tony Diggs is.
2:56:29Aaron Rodgers:Don't worry about it. You got a fair amount of cookie crumbs on there, too. I'll tell you where your mouth works, though. We know that. Just because you spill a couple things, doesn't mean we should get up. My guy talking about Fauci, my other one's shoving a cookie in his mouth and almost dying. That's called range. I forgot about that. I wonder what the reaction is.
2:56:45Pat McAfee:I'll tell you what, he was not happy. Well, actually, I think he was happy. Yeah. I think it was the opposite. Are you going to report on this accurately, that Aaron is – I think Aaron spoke for himself quite well. Yeah.
2:56:59Pat McAfee:Yes, he did. And you speak very well as well. We follow along with you. We appreciate the hell out of you. You're the absolute man. Ladies and gentlemen, Mark Cabola, at least. Yeah. All right, we're going to get the hell out of here. We can't thank the Steelers enough for the hospitality here. Big shout-out to the ESPN crew that got buried just because they work a part of a company. We appreciate you all for doing this. And thank you for waiting out the storm. Jib Scott, you're the man. Thank you, bro. Great shots today. You're the absolute best. Boys in the truck, good work. Hey, boys. Hey, boys.

Oh, yeah. Right there. Boom. Empty boxes. Empty boxes. Sharing love.
2:58:08Pat McAfee:A lot of eating. Let's get the hell out of here. We'll be back tomorrow, live from the Thunderdome.
