In short

The episode argues you don’t need to be the “best” to teach; you just need to be 3 steps ahead of the person you’re helping. It ties this to impact, self-belief, and fulfillment—claiming money and opportunities follow when you focus on helping rather than chasing.

Guest backgrounds

No named guests. The host references a mentor and a story about “John” at a mastermind table, but neither is formally interviewed.

Key claims

Impact is “the greatest drug”; fulfillment comes from sharing what you overcame (A to B). Confidence/self-belief grows from action, not thinking. Chasing creates “a disgusting smell” that repels people; unlearning and creating space reveals purpose.

Notable examples

A mentor’s line “three steps ahead” during a dark period. The host’s sunrise date in Australia where a woman in a van said his videos “saved my life.” A Thailand stage talk where attendees cried, plus a mastermind conversation where John felt stuck after selling his company.

00You don't need to be the best at what you're teaching. You just need to be three steps ahead. A mentor said that to me when I was in a really dark place, when I was really low. I had no idea what I was doing and I had no idea what my place was on this earth. And he said that one line and it quite literally changed everything. I'm going to say it one more time and then I'll collaborate. You don't need to be the best at what you're teaching. You just need to be three steps ahead of the person that you're teaching. You see, you don't need to be one of the greats to share your message. But you can be three steps ahead and be even more impactful than the greats to a certain person.

49You see, when you're so, so far up here, it's harder for the people down here to relate. But if you're nearly just in arm's reach, you can't quite be reached. These people have the belief that you can help them because it's so recent that you are where they are. You know, when I realized this, everything changed. This was the very thing that allowed me to stop getting in my own way. And it made me realize that I actually am useful. You see, when you go through challenge, when you go through hardship, when you go through things that you weren't expecting to go through, you become useful because then you've overcome something that is hard.

40And there are thousands of people that are in that position right now that are screaming for your help. You become useful when you've gone from A to B. Most people don't like sharing that knowledge that they now have because they don't think that they're worthy. They don't think that they're good enough to do so, but it's all bullshit. Every single person at every phase of your life has an ability to impact someone. Perhaps you're just looking in the wrong direction. If you look at the people that are three steps behind you, there are so many things that you can do to help them. And there are so many people that would scream and that would love to be where you are right now.

30You see, I'm in Thailand right now. We've got the sun rising behind us here. It's the morning here in Koh Samoy. I've just spent nearly a week here. I got flown over here from Malibu to speak at an event with about 60 entrepreneurs. And let's just say, I stood on stage on day two. And people were blown away. And there was a slide in the middle of the presentation that showed me two years ago filming a podcast with my iPhones, sat on a couch in my living room, an absolute mess, an unconfident person that, if you would look at him, would not even be able to recognize me today. And that was two years ago.

25Now I travel the world interviewing the most fascinating minds for a living, and I make a lot of money doing so. You don't need to be the best at what you're teaching. you just need to be three steps ahead. You see, if I didn't take that piece of wisdom and run with it and start posting content like I did, who knows where I would have been? And who knows the amount of impact I would have been able to make? Because for me, you know what I've realized? I've met so many billionaires. I've met so many people that are extreme high achievers. And what's a common denominator in a lot of the most successful people that you see, they all turn to philanthropists.

07They all start giving. Why? Because impact is the greatest drug of all time. Impact feels greater than any shekels you can make, any money, anything. So if I know that impact is the thing that makes me feel the greatest out of everything in the whole world, surely we try and make impact. So how do we make impact in the best way? Well, what we do is we share what we've overcame. As I said before, if you've gone from A to B, you've become useful for all the people that are in A right now stuck. The moment you become useful, the moment fulfillment starts to flood into your life because you can share the things that you've overcame.

01Too often we just get in our own way. We seem to think that we're not good enough, we're not worthy, no one's going to care about what we have to say, so we silence ourselves. We don't put our message out there. Even though we have this yearning for wanting to do so, we don't do it. And why? It's not because of anyone else, it's because of you. there's a switch that happens in your life where things start to unlock and that's when you remove this negative bias in your head that you're not worthy one of my biggest superpowers is self-belief but the only way you could earn it is by doing the thing the only way you can have self-belief that you can help people is by helping people.

53The only way you can have self-belief that you can be a quick runner is to run more. The only way that you can show up at a date is by going on more dates. Confidence comes from doing the thing. Self-belief comes from believing that you can do it. And the way that you believe you can do it is by doing it. And then And when you do that time and time again in all different realms of your life, you start to get this default self-belief that comes without even the doing. You get a default self-belief that comes before even starting the action. And you know what that does? That makes you dream bigger.

33That makes you think bigger. When you can have a default self-belief, you start shooting for the stars before you've even walked. And that is powerful. That unlocks so many things in your life. I want to touch on this impact piece because I really want to rail this in because there's so many people probably listening to this right now and they haven't yet shared their message or they haven't yet shared it to its entirety. They are hiding things because they don't want to get judged or they don't know what people are going to think of them. I want to share a story. It was a moment that everything really changed for me.

14I had had my podcast. I had some followers online, but I was very focused on money and I was constantly just chasing money as the primary metric of success. And you know what was happening? I was struggling to make money. Funny, right? You make it the focus and then it becomes harder to get. Yeah. And then I was on a date in the morning for sunrise and I was walking with this girl and we're walking in the Gold Coast of Australia and we get to this hill as we watch the sunrise and we're standing on this rock and I have my arms around this girl that I was on a date with. And then as the sun is rising, I look behind me and I lock eyes with this lady.

05she was in her 40s and she was holding her seven-year-old son in her hand and she locked eyes with me and the first words that left her mouth she said you've saved my life on multiple occasions i'm shocked i literally start shaking i didn't really know how to react to what she just said, she said, you've saved my life on multiple occasions. I didn't know what to do. So all I did was I just went up and gave her a big hug and she starts telling me about her story. She's gone through a really bad divorce. She's living in her van with her son. She's really lost and she's in the darkest places. And she says, she looks forward to my videos every single day.

52that encounter left me extremely shocked this girl meanwhile she had no idea what I did for work and she's like what are you like who who are you what are you doing this girl that I was on a date with was freaking out and I'm walking back home after that and I looked at the girl and I said to the girl that I was with. I need to do more of that. Impact. If I just focus on making people feel like that, the money will come. Weeks later, podcasts blew up, started getting all of these brand deals, started making all of this money. Things just went to the next level. When I focused on impact, the money came.

42When I focused on money, it didn't. The less you chase, the more you receive. The less you feel like you need something, the more it seems to flow into your life. The less I felt like I needed the money, and the more I felt like I should focus on impacting others, the money just came into your life. It's funny, when you aren't looking for a partner, they seem to come into your life. When you aren't chasing women, they seem to flood into your life in abundance. When you're not chasing money, you earn more. It's funny how that works, right? There's an energy to life that's so special. And chasing gives off this disgusting smell.

27People repel it. People don't want to go near it. When you chase something and when you feel like you need something, you just stink and people don't want to be around you. And that's the same for most things in your life. You see, this impact piece is something that's very close to me. And I was reminded of that this weekend in Thailand because I spoke on stage and there were people there that didn't even know me. A lot of people did know me on social media, but a lot of people didn't. After the talk, there was multiple people that came up to me crying.

15I'm just a 24-year-old kid giving it a crack. What right do I have to be in a room of 60 high-level entrepreneurs and that can leave them crying about the impact that it's made? I altered stuff in people's brain. And you know the crazy part about it all? I made that presentation the morning of the presentation. I made that presentation after listening to all of the people the day before and hearing all of their stories and learning more about the people and tailoring it towards the people in the room. I made the presentation literally minutes before I stood on stage. and sort of think that I had the ability to improvise and share my message with the amount of conviction that I had when two years ago I could barely speak in front of a camera shows that I didn't let myself get in my way I acted I started in fact what I'm going to do right now is I'm going to play a video on the screen of me two years ago so you can see where I started.

33The investing question. Look, if you are messaging people online on how do I invest or what do I invest, I've got$1 ,000, where do I invest it? Man, this is the problem.

55i want to talk about car expenses

06i'm just trying to figure out how to work out this thing i'm checking myself out in the mirror I've got this long ass hair. This is what I was like. And so to think that I was like that to now being able to do what I do now for a living, it doesn't make sense. And that's the message I want to rein home is that your life can change so quickly. All the things you think you can achieve in 10 years, you can achieve in two years. Matter of fact, all of the things that you think you can achieve in your whole life, you can achieve in two years. Things can change so quickly if you decide that you're going to commit to yourself.

49If you decide that today is the day, you decide that now is the time that I want change in my life. Now is the time that I'm sick of doing things for other people that don't even matter. When you decide that you're going to go all in on you and you decide that you're going to go all in on the things that you truly want to do. You'll be surprised at how quickly your life will change. There's a lot of people listening to this right now that might be like, but I don't really know what I need to do. And that's the first step. Great. If you don't know what you need to do, that's awesome. What you need to do is create space to invite it in because it's not about learning.

33It's about unlearning. It's not about discovering something new. It's about unpacking what's already there. We operate in this 3D world and we seem to think that all this man-made stuff is the stuff that actually matters. This is how most people run their lives. But there's a layer deeper that comes with the deepest fulfillments and the deepest knowing that you possibly have. It's already there. And I feel really connected to this thought at the moment because people seem to search outwardly to find out what their passions are and to find out what they feel called to do. When in reality, how is anywhere outwardly going to know what you want to do?

31That doesn't make sense. You already know what you need to do and you already know what you want to do. You need to unlearn all the shit that you had and you need to unpack what's already there. Another person that I was blessed to be able to make an impact with, I hope he's listening to this right now, John was in the room. I was blessed to be able to be in the room of this group. And on the last day yesterday, there was folk, the day before yesterday, there was focus groups. So they were masterminds. So we split up into eight or so tables. I was on table seven. And just because I was there, the Stefan and Tim were like, do you want to sit on a table?

12And I I was like, yeah, I'd love to contribute and help. And basically it was a mastermind and you would go around each person and share your goal and your business challenge and what you're struggling to do. And then basically we would ask clarifying questions and then we would provide advice for people in the room. And everyone's sharing their business challenges. And it was great. And we'll be being able to dive deep on all these business challenges. But then John came on and he said, look, I don't have a business challenge. It's more of a personal challenge. And he starts proceeding to share how he's made all this money.

57He sold his company. He's been working till his eyeballs bleed, nearly ruined his marriage for, you know, 13 year sprint building an e-commerce brand. And he said, now mine's a bit more of a personal challenge. I don't know what to do with my life. You know, I'm really good at this business thing. And, you know, I'm doing consulting now and helping people do that. I'm doing investing with VC. But I just don't feel right. Something feels off. Because I'm so scared to dive back into another venture. because then I might get obsessed and sprint until my eyeballs bleed again. And then I don't want to risk ruining my relationship and being depressed and being in a low again.

50And so I don't want to do that. I'm scared to do that. But then I also don't want to do nothing. I feel like a piece of shit doing nothing. That's what he was sharing. and instantly we're in a room of type a people where everyone has a superiority complex look i knew straight away as soon as he was sharing that everyone in the fucking group is going to turn into a life coach it's going to tell them all the answers that he needs to hear and go like do this do this don't listen to this right and i knew this was going to be the case so I just shut up. And so for the whole time, I just shut up because I knew that they were all just going to start sharing all these things.

36And while it's great advice, sure, I just don't think it's what he needs to hear. Then the timer ran out and they were going to lunch. And then I thought, I knew I was going to talk at some point and share to John. And I said, guys, John, I have two cents that I'd love to share. It's all it's worth, but I'd love to share some two cents if that's okay. And he's like, yeah, great, great, great. And he pulls out his phone. He wants to record me. And everyone ends up staying and listening.

09And it ended up being about 10 minutes of advice. But what I shared to him was, you don't need things. All this advice that everyone's given, firstly, it's been great. It's awesome. But John, that's operating in the 3D world. This is all man-made. Just broke my light. I'm going to pause and see if I can fix this and come back to you guys. All of the stuff is in the 3D world. It's all man-made. You're struggling with a fulfillment problem. There's nothing man-made about fulfillment. So if you're trying to search for your fulfillment in a man-made world, I think it's only going to be fleeting. You need to look deeper.

06You need to create space to invite stuff in and to learn more about yourself. Truly learn more about yourself. Because right now, John, you are defining yourself based on the successes and that your competency levels in the certain things that you've done in the past. That's not you. That's what you've done. And it's funny. The one podcast I was telling him to listen to, he said that he listened to it already. And apparently it made him cry. And it's funny because that was literally the one thing I was going to say. I was going to say to him, go and listen to the Alex Hormozzi Tony Robbins podcast, and then go for a seven hour walk and see what comes to mind.

55Because what he was explaining is mirroring how Alex Hormozzi was. And then when he told me that he listened to it and he cried, it made sense. You see, there's a peace in people that strive so much that have a nature in them, at least a man-made nature in them, that they need to keep going. This is why people can't switch off. And this is why people say, I think I'm going to work for the rest of my life, whether they're passionate in it or not. they form a man-made identity on what they think they are, but it's not who they actually are. And then they feel this lacking. They feel like a missing piece in their life, a lack of purpose, a missing why.

52And then they get in their head even more because they're thinking, but I've got what everyone wants and I'm still not happy. So maybe I need to keep striving even more to get what more people want so that then I can be happy. And it's this vicious, vicious cycle. And I said, dude, my advice is worth two cents, but take it or leave it. I'm going to share it anyway. It's worked well for me. I spend the first four hours of my mornings in Malibu. I get up at 4am, I read, I write, I sit there, and I think. And when you're in your type A driven mind, that feels like a waste of time. But I've been able to reprogram my mind to the point where that's the most productive thing that I can possibly do.

54You see, there'll be hours in the morning where I'll sit there for 90 minutes in front of a blank page and I won't even write anything. And I still think that's productive because I'm learning more about myself. I'm seeing where my mind goes. I'm seeing where my soul goes. And, you know, a lot of the time when I'm doing that, in the first 90 minutes, I might write one line because I'm just a bit stuck. I don't really know what else to write when I'm writing. And then I'll get to two hours in and all of a sudden from two hours to two hours, 10, I've wrote four pages. Sometimes we need the space to get into the flow state.

45Sometimes we need the space to actually get the answers. And then once the answers come, they're so crystal clear that you can just do it all instantly. I wrote four pages in four hours, but really I wrote four pages in 10 hours, but I spent three hours thinking on what to write. Now I'm in a position where I am blessed that I can do that. I would argue that most people could, you know, unless you've got kids, I would argue that most single people without kids, or even coupled people without kids could do that. It's 4 a.m. till 8 a.m. Most people don't even go to their jobs that they hate till 9 a.m.

33So, and I say that just to bring a point home. You don't all hate your jobs if you're in a job. There's some people that are super fulfilled in their jobs and I love that and I think it's absolutely great. I'm also pointing at the people that feel like there's something missing in their life. After I spoke with John there and everyone in the table, all the food from lunch had been taken already and we missed out. But it didn't matter. Because I stood up and I was like, give me a hug. And I gave John a big hug. And he was shaking. he was in like a a time warped like he was in like a trance that's why he filmed it he said like i couldn't i was listening and i was just in in such a trance of what you were saying that i needed to listen back to this and listen back and listen back so i could take it all in and when he said that and i hugged him and he's like next to crying it reminded me if I didn't strive, if I didn't teach before I was an expert, I wonder if I would have got to where I am.

55And I can guarantee you the answer to that is no. There is no way that I would be where I am today if I didn't remove my limiting beliefs when I was a shit communicator, when I removed my limiting beliefs of when I couldn't show up in front of camera. If I said that no one's going to listen to me back then, even though they didn't listen to me back then, if I removed myself from being able to help people that were three steps behind me, there's no way I would be where I am now, which means I can help so many people, millions of people all around the world. We get over 30 million views a month.

36Tens of millions of faces are seeing my face every month. I'm getting stopped on the street wherever I go and I'm able to fly around the world and make impact for a living. And two years ago, I looked like that. I showed you the videos of how I was. It's the same guy just added on a couple of years. the same guy with a little bit more conviction, a little bit more confidence, a little bit more knowledge, still knows nothing, but he's a little bit further along the journey. And it all started from that one thing that my mentor said, that you don't need to be the best at what you're teaching. You just need to be three steps ahead.

25Get out of your own way. No one else is blocking you. You are blocking you. If there's something that you want in your life, go get it. If there's a dream that you think about, chase it. If there's a life you want to live, live it.

44No one else is getting in the way apart from yourself.

51We're all going to get old one day. all of the people that we were fearing that were going to doubt us are not even going to be there you are going to be in a deathbed and you're going to be looking back at your life and you're not going to be thinking about all of the people that hated on you you're not going to be thinking about all the people that talked shit you're not going to be thinking about anyone else apart from yourself and what you're going to be thinking about is did I give life a red hot crack Did I get up on the days I didn't want to? Did I show up for me? Did I make myself proud?

30Did I learn more about myself? Did I make actions in my life that were aligned with me? Did I please my soul's desires? Or did I sit on the sidelines? Did I let everyone else run by while I just sat scared? Those are the things you're going to be thinking about. act now on the things that you want. Chase the dreams that you truly want. Because what's the fucking point of living otherwise? What's the point of doing this thing we call life when you're not even living?

13You see, I'm in Thailand right now. been here for a week i go to bali today i'm taking my family on a holiday to bali we have a massive villa i'm spending time with my family and i'm in a position where i'm able to do that i'm moving my brother over to america with me so that he can chase his dreams as well and he can unlock this new level in his life as well. And to even be in a position to be able to say all of those things when two years ago I had nothing is crazy to me. And this is my story. But it's your time to make your story. It's your time to really try. we're in the third month of 2026.

15When you set out to achieve the things for 2026 at the start of this year, are you on track? Have you taken the actions that you needed to? Have the New Year's resolutions dissolved or have they kept going? Because sometimes you need to ask yourself some deep questions about your own life. You need to ask yourself why you're getting in your own way. And what is stopping you from acting on the things that you truly want to do.

53I really want everyone listening to this to win. I really want everyone to crush this thing called life. And I want them to live in alignment with themselves. I want you to live in alignment with you, not with me, not with anyone else in your life, with you. And I hope that the people around you can support that. I am so grateful for everyone tuning in. I'm so grateful for people that enjoy these solo podcasts. It's cool that there's planes flying by in the background of this set. you know I had a bit of a nightmare building this set yesterday I was supposed to record this and I brought a power board that accidentally got left out in the rain in Malibu at my place there and I forgot about it and anyway it's a wet broken power board and I plug everything in and I get electrocuted and everything trips out and all the power of the whole place trips out and they couldn't fix it until late last night.

11And yeah, there was a part of me in that moment where I went, oh well, no episode this week. And then I snapped myself out of it and I went, me not posting is depriving the world from a message they potentially need to hear right now. If I did that, then this wouldn't have been a thing. And anyone that's still listening to this right now must have found this somewhat interesting, must have hopefully had some level of utility in their life by listening to this. You know, we get in our way more than anyone else does. And I'm just proud of myself for showing up, even though things get hard and things don't go to plan.

05And I hope that you guys can show up for yourself as well. Thank you for tuning in. I just want to say one quick promo before I close out. Podcast Pro is my school and it's an opportunity to work directly with me to build your podcast and your personal brand. as I've said I went from nothing a couple of years ago to building one of the biggest shows in the world and I'm I'm I'm striving to build the biggest show in the world and the things that I'm learning are like no other you know the master class I did yesterday or the other day on stage was talking about how I think we're forgetting that we're human my approach and the reason I've been out of pierce into the space is very different to any guru out there.

56Mine's focused on human connection. If you just make someone feel something, you win. Whether that's being motivated, whether that's being inspired, whether you're trying to educate them, if you can do that, you win. And when you can do that, and podcasting is the number one vehicle to allow to do that because it's raw, it's unscripted, it's unedited. If you can capture feeling, whether you're a business owner, whether you're a person trying to share your message, everything starts to flow in your life. If you're a business owner and you have a podcast that captures feeling, you will convert so much more leads.

39You'll make so much more money. Your business will transform. Your life will transform. Your network will transform. Your credibility, your authority will all transform. And whether you're a person that's curious like I was and like I am, and you really want to be able to extend that curiosity, a podcast is the number one thing for that. The way a podcast succeeds is if you make it an extension of your curiosity. It needs to be this thing that lights you up, that springs you out of bed in the morning. You need to only have conversations that spring you out of bed in the morning. And when you make it an extension of you and your curiosity, you'll win in every realm of the word win because you have more fulfillment.

28You'll make more money. You'll have way better connections and a way better life. And obviously you'll learn a whole lot along the way too.
