4:19Rich Eisen:Great answer, Adam. What's on your mind, sir? Well, speaking of the commanders, I'd like to do the win-loss game. Oh, okay. All right. I like it. The win-loss game. I was going to do it yesterday, but, you know, a certain Money in the Bank guy had to be late for his appointment, so I got bumped. I got bumped. Listen, Seth Rollins. You have to prioritize things, Adam. When Seth Rollins lies, there's a lot of ripple effects and a lot of people that get affected, and who knew Adam in Maryland was affected because he wanted to play the win-loss game for the Washington commanders. Adam feels like he got cursed.
4:51Rich Eisen:I believe. That's a good one. Oh, you got TJ. Spit taken. He just spit taken. Are you ready, Adam? Okay, here we go. Let's do this. All right. This is only the second Washington Commanders win-loss game that we've had yet. What happens in the home opener against the New York football Giants, sir? Well, we've been getting over a little bit of a curse with the Giants where no matter what, they always get us. And this is another step to that. Quick sidebar, we call Nationals wins curly Ws. I'm going to call Commanders wins block Ws. That's a block W. That's a block W. Very good. At the Green Bay Packers to kick off the Thursday night football schedule.
5:35We have a classic between Jordan Love and Jane Daniels that ends in another block W.
5:41Rich Eisen:Block W. 2-0 against the Raiders. Sorry to yesterday's guest, O'Shea Jackson Jr., but that's another block W. That's a 3-0 at the Atlanta Falcons. I think Atlanta does give us another good classic like we did to get in the playoffs, but yet again, a block W. That's four block Ws at the Chargers. That will also be another block W. That's a 5-0 start for the Washington Commanders, home for the Bears and Caleb Williams on a Monday night, where ESPN no doubt will be showing that Hail Mary video every other three seconds. What do you got? And so yesterday, I was going to say the Bears get their lick back for the Hail Mary, but because of Seth, it's another blocked W.

6:29Rich Eisen:Well, he blocked you yesterday, so you blocked W'd him today. 6-0 at the Cowboys. Now, the last time we played them, we beat them. So that's another block W. Okay. That's a block L right there. Okay, that's 7-0 at the Chiefs on a Monday night. We reach critical mass of block Ws with an 8-0 start. Oh! I didn't know TJ Plus got shipped to Maryland. Home for the Seattle Seahawks on NBC Sunday night. And BC is the first block L of the year Oh boy Interesting Seahawks are the winner It's a plot twist 8-1 Home for the Lions We got our mojo back with a rematch W of the playoff 9-1 in Spain Against the Dolphins High refill against us Across the pond That's an L Okay, that's a loss.
7:33Rich Eisen:So you're now 9-2 off the bye, home for the Broncos. Sunday night. That is another block L. Oh, boy. Off of a bye. We're slipping up. We've lost three of our last four at the Vikings. JJ does good, but we right the ship. That's the block. 10-3 at the Giants. Sadly, we're not completely over that curve. They get one on us. Oh, boy. 10-4, home for the Eagles on a Saturday. we avenge the NFC Championship game. That's a block W. 11-4, home for the Cowboys in the final Prime video. Well, actually, no, this is Christmas on Netflix. What do you got? Merry Christmas, TJ. Enjoy this broom. That's a block W.

8:18Rich Eisen:And then at the Eagles. No, no, no, no, we're not stopping. That's too good. That stands. Too good. That stands. There's no challenge flag there. That was an outstanding response. Blowing the whistle on that. At the Eagles to finish up. This one is for the NFC East. That does not have repeat winners. That's a block W. Oh, boy. So that's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 4. Says Adam in Maryland. Thank you for the call, Adam. That was very spirited. And 13 and 4 is what Jarrell in Texas said. That's two 13 and 4s for the commander. Hmm. Block W's, everybody. I like that. Okay. Better than the old curly W's.
9:07Rich Eisen:What did they say for the Nats? I have no idea. You know what, guys? The New York Giants are going to start this season against the Washington Commanders, as we just heard. And it's going to be a fascinating matchup. Because this is where Russell Wilson is going to make his first start. as a New York Giant. You know he's going to start, right, Chris? He's already been named the starter. Well, he's number one on the depth chart. And if I'm not mistaken, I'm looking it up right here, I do believe his first career, was this where he had his first career playoff start? Did he not win a playoff game in this building?
9:55Rich Eisen:Let's see, I'm trying to remember, back in the day, Russell Wilson, yes, sir. first career playoff start as a rookie went into Washington and beat them by 10. Yep. And then they wound up going to Atlanta for the, I believe was that, yeah, that was the second round of the playoffs. Atlanta then went to the Superbowl that year, I believe.
10:23Rich Eisen:And Washington in this building is where Russell Wilson started a remote Remarkable run for the Seattle Seahawks, where he played in two playoff games in each of his first five years of his career. And twice won two playoff games in some of those seasons. Made the Super Bowl twice, won it once, had a chance, as we all know, to win it two times in a row, but did not. And we keep on saying about Russ over and over and over again. It's one of our favorites. He couldn't, he goes way back in the day with us, Christopher. He does. When we did the first ever Rich Eisen podcast kickoff special special that Chris Brockman edited together.
11:31Rich Eisen:2012 season. And we called you up. I remember calling you up and saying that thing's locked. You're like, it's locked. I'm done. We're good. Ready to go. And this is way back in the day, Chris, when you were one of those producers who were just like, really? You're going to make me do more work? That was back in your day. Now you accept it. Now you accept it. That was one of those situations where. Now you accept it. We are locked to time. You want me to do what now? That's right. And I said, we just got Russell Wilson. The Seahawks just said we can get Russell Wilson, the new rookie starter. The guy who supplanted Matt Flynn, despite the Seahawks paying him.
12:16Rich Eisen:A lot of money. And he came on our show, and he's been a friend of the program ever since. And that said, the narrative for Russell Wilson is that he needs to, once again, go on a playoff run. Make the playoffs, go on a playoff run, and win a Super Bowl, or make one, for him to reach the Pro Football Hall of Fame. that he was on a rocket ship towards in his first six, seven years of his career. And when he steps on the field in Washington, D.C., or Maryland, Virginia, whatever, when he steps on the field at the home of the Washington Commanders, the spot where he won his first playoff game of his career, it will be the 200th game plate of his career.
13:18Rich Eisen:200. Wow. And the reason why we bring all this up is because we haven't done this in a while. But Russell Wilson is today's participant in Who Wants to Be a Hall of Famer here on the Rich Eisen Show. Hit it. Who wants to be a Hall of Famer? Is that your final answer? Is Russell Wilson a Hall of Famer right here and right now as he steps on the field to start week one for the New York Giants? Is he already that guy? Or is the way that his Seahawks career ended, his Broncos career flamed out, his one season in Pittsburgh similar in many ways to his career arc of got the start when nobody saw it coming because again he had not been with Pittsburgh at all and he gets the pole position, he gets hurt, he doesn't play and then he gets the gig and goes on a remarkable run and then disappoints at the end of the season and they're done with him.
14:40Rich Eisen:One and done him. Now he's with the Giants. Does he need to do anything with the Giants of significance to make the Hall of Fame? Or is he there right now? I've got his career stats for you, folks. He is 16th all-time in terms of completions, which is 3 ,882. 16th all-time. He's ahead of somebody named Aikman and Montana. His career completion percentage just shy of 65%. 24th all-time ahead of Big Ben and a guy named Tom Brady. He's 17th all-time in the passing yards list of 46 ,000. 12th all-time with 350 passing touchdowns. Rushing yards. 4th all-time amongst quarterbacks with 5 ,462. 31 rushing touchdowns.
15:35Rich Eisen:That's tied for 20th all-time amongst quarterbacks. His passer rating is just shy of 100. That's fifth all-time ahead of Peyton Manning and a guy who's going to be a first ballot guy next year, Drew Brees. He won the Super Bowl, as we all know. Ten-time Pro Bowler. He was the Rookie of the Year. He's won Walter Peyton's Man of the Year. Passing rating leader in the NFL in 2015. He led the league in touchdowns in 2017. nobody in the first nine seasons of his career had more wins as a quarterback than his 98 his 250 or better passing touchdowns in his first nine seasons only one of three such quarterbacks Marino and Peyton Manning to do that
16:20Rich Eisen:who wants to go first on this very thorny subject matter Christopher no no Russell Wilson there's going to be a case I think looking back that he was not primarily the reason that they were winning a lot of those games the Legion of Boone is going to take a lot of credit Marshawn Lynch is going to get a lot of credit if you look at personal accolades you said it only led the league in touchdown once never led the league in yards never led the league in completion percentage never led the league in Let's see. What else? Never made first team all pro. Famously has never come close to winning an MVP.
17:04Never was the best quarterback in the league. Never going to go down as the best quarterback of his era. And I think the way his career is finishing up, you mentioned all the wins to start his career. Well, in the last four years, 23 wins. Russell Wilson, not a Hall of Famer.
17:19Rich Eisen:T.J. Jefferson, would you care to chime in on this subject matter as well? Yeah, I'm of the belief that Phillip Rivers is in the Hall of Famer. We've had this talk before, Chris, and I don't think he gets in. So, therefore, statistically speaking, even though Russell does have the Super Bowl and Phillip doesn't, no, I don't. Based upon Chris just gave about three of the stats that I wanted to give. But, yeah, it would take another ring, I think, for me to go, yeah. Another ring. Yeah. As of right now, no. I don't think so. Man, nine years into his career, if we had this question, would we have said yes?
18:02Rich Eisen:I think we would have said yes nine years into his career. I think we would have said he's on the track, and if he continues this pace, then yes. But he has not continued the pace. Absolutely not. The pace has fallen off the train tracks. We've never seen a career kind of flame out the way this has. You know the way I feel about him. you know the way I feel about it. Yeah, I mean, I'm trying to keep personal feelings aside. No, I know that. And so in this conversation, I will place them aside and say I have to agree with you guys. What does he need to do? So let's be positive here. We've got to win a Super Bowl with the Giants.
18:38He's got to win one? Got to win one. What if he takes them to one? Is he the reason that they're getting there? Well, they're not going to get there if he doesn't play well. I mean, if he's throwing up 4 ,500 yards and 38 touchdowns, then yeah, okay, that's going to be good.
18:50Rich Eisen:but I need to see that for two or three more seasons. The expectation level for Russell Wilson with the Giants nationally, I believe is so low. Oh, they think that you play half a season Jackson dart is going to play more games than him. Yeah. That Jameis is going to get a start at some point or two because, because Jameis is breaking case of emergency, but I hear what you're saying. But of all places that you can show up and show out to put yourself back on this track in the same way that he won his first playoff game where he's going to start his first game as a New York Giant when he starts his first home game is a New York Giant against the Kansas City Chiefs it will be in the building where he won a Super Bowl and again he wasn't the MVP of that Super Bowl to keep on making this point right about all of that but he doesn't make that Super Bowl and they don't make the Super Bowl the next year with Pete Carroll only to somehow some way not hand it off to Marshawn Lynch, and they don't make it, they're not the team that we were referring to when the Chiefs were winning back-to-back games as the last team to do it, which would, I think, also add more to his resume.
20:02Rich Eisen:Yeah, that second ring is a game changer. Right, and the fact that they didn't get the second ring is because they chose to throw it instead of run it, and Belichick's defense, you know, read it. came out of nowhere with a guy that was deep down on when Al Michaels is coming out here next time, we got to talk about where Malcolm Butler was on his card. Sixth on the depth chart. Exactly. The fact that he knew exactly who Malcolm Butler was on the spot is truly unbelievable. But all I'm saying is taking him to a Super Bowl, take him to an NFC championship game when everybody expects him to be benched at some point this year because it's going to be exactly the same results that we saw in Pittsburgh, exactly the same result for him being the biggest dead cap released in the history of the NFL by the Broncos, and exactly why the Seahawks were like, we're done here.
21:00If they don't win it, he's got to be top five MVP and get to the championship.
21:07Rich Eisen:Then we put him back in this mix, No, no, no. Then the trajectory is back pointing upwards. Right, and then... Got to do it again next year. To make the Hall of Fame. Yeah. The first 10 years of his career doesn't matter. His first 10 years of his career is one of the best 10 years of anybody's first 10 years of their career. And a lot of people have forgotten about it because he's been so bad the last four years. I just think... If he... Again, this is a team that nobody's expecting to see anything coming. and we're going to see more of Jackson Dart than him. And if it's something completely different, I think that puts him back on this path for sure.
21:44Rich Eisen:But like no more. The arrow turns a little bit to go up, but it's still, I mean, he's got a couple years to go. Sacked 560 times in his career. He's one of the most sacked quarterbacks of all time. And he's been to the playoffs nine of his 13 seasons in the NFL. If he makes it 10 for 14 with the Giants, dude. He's got nine playoff wins. He's got an over 500 playoff record. It's all impressive stuff. But one ring and zero personal accolades. It's a tough division. People are sleeping on the Las Vegas Raiders. Oh, man, I can't wait. I can't wait to see what Pete's going to do in this mix, man. and offensive rookie of the year is what Albert Breer called Ashton Gentry. A lot of people think that he's the betting favorite. Well, because he's the highest drafted offensive player who doesn't play defense. Right? At the skilled position. Correct? Yep. Right? Yeah, he went ahead of Ted McMillan, right?
32:56Rich Eisen:I think he did. Yeah. He sure did. Cam Ward obviously went number one. I'm aware of that. I'm excluding quarterbacks. On that front? Yeah, Ashton Gentry and Cam Ward basically have the same odds. Omari and Hampton. Okay. 10-1. All right. Travis Hunter, 11-1. Well, I don't know if this is an appropriate lead-in for your top five list, Christopher. Raiders are not on the list. Okay. So, you've got a glass half empty. Fully empty. Or... Not even half. Okay, fully empty. This is glass fully empty. The top five teams that absolutely cannot win the Super Bowl. Hit it. five five one two three four five rockman's top five look at every year everyone's got high hopes it's august everybody thinks they can win the super bowl that's correct these five teams and fan bases need a slap to the face of reality okay number five teams that came on the super bowl we were just talking about them the new york football giants cannot win the super bowl i'm sorry they have the hardest schedule in the NFL.
34:03They play in a very difficult division that, oh, that's right, the Super Bowl champs are in that division, and the team that played in the Final Four are in that division. They got a quarterback in Russell Wilson who is on the last legs of his career, probably only going to play half the year, maybe less than, before a rookie goes in there. And as we know, a rookie quarterback has never made the Super Bowl. I'm sorry the Giants cannot win the Super Bowl this season. Number four. here's how I know this team doesn't has no chance to win the Super Bowl. How do you know this? They were literally asked about it in the training camp, and they all laughed because they know they can't win the Super Bowl.
34:46They had the number one pick this year. They might have the number one pick again next year. The Tennessee Titans, as much as I love Cam Ward, cannot win the Super Bowl this season.
34:55Rich Eisen:What do you mean they were asked and they laughed about it? They were like, oh, is this team going to contend for the Super Bowl or whatever? And they just all laughed. Like, oh, we're taking it. day-to-day, week-to-week. They know they can't do it. Cam Ward, I think, is going to be awesome. But he needs a lot, a lot of help around him. Tennessee can't win it. Number three. Number three, we spent a lot of time talking about this team this offseason. You know, when you've got two quarterbacks, you don't have one. When you have three, you don't have one. When you have four, you definitely don't have one.
35:27And when you have five and now a sixth quarterback, I don't know what's going on there. You definitely don't have anyone that can take you to and then win the Super Bowl. The Cleveland Browns are definitely not winning the Super Bowl.
35:40Rich Eisen:You don't think Flacco Magic, Flacco season, SZN, you don't think we're going to hashtag that? Flacco, if he makes it out of September alive, I'll be shocked. Come on, man. I will be shocked if he's the starter in October. Do you co-sign on all these things here, TJ? I don't even know. Miles Garrett is awesome, and he's going to the Hall of Fame, and he might win Defensive Player of the Year again this year. Yes. But who else are you taking on this team in fantasy? Jerry Gini. Are they ever going to be on red zone this year? The Browns absolutely cannot win. They play in an impossible division.
36:15I'm sorry. They're going to be picking in the top five. Okay. Number two, and this goes back to what I just said about quarterbacks. God knows they have anyone who completed 10 yard pass we know they can complete 60 yard passes can they complete 10 yard passes the Indianapolis Colts absolutely cannot win the Super Bowl this season
36:34Rich Eisen:you put the Colts on this list above the Browns yes because we were talking about this are these ascending order of no shots yes the Browns defense is better than the Colts offense Browns are going to have good defense They're just not going to be able to score any points. Okay. And the Colts might be the opposite. You put them two, huh? Two. Do you have any faith in the two guys on the screen right now? Crazier things have happened. How does that sound? Great. I hate to put you in that spot because you're a very positive person. I am. I'm the one that's being negative here. The Colts have no shot.
37:14Absolutely. I'm curious as to who number one is on your list. Number one is, we were talking about it with Burt. the Saints have absolutely 0.0 less than Blutarski chance of winning the Super Bowl I would bet a serious amount of money that they're going to have the number one pick in the draft next year and they're going to have a real conversation if Arch Manning comes out what to do or who they're going to be taking at number one LSU quarterback is in the mix as well number one oh my god there are probably high schools with better situations at quarterback this year than these two guys with all due respect they're in the league Actually, I hate to be that negative.
37:50That's very disrespectful. It's so disrespectful. Honestly, I take that back. I take it back. I take it back. But they're so bad. And I feel bad for Kellen Moore that he's got to go into that situation as a rookie head coach and have this be his welcome to the NFL moment as the face of that franchise on the coaching staff. But the Saints will not and cannot win the Super Bowl.
38:10Rich Eisen:Okay. Do you have one more? I don't even need one more. These teams are so bad. I wonder where the Patriots were on that list. This is my question. I'm surprised the Cowboys didn't make the list. I thought about putting the Cowboys on there. Obviously thought about the Jets. Did you think about the Pats? But, you know. Did you think about the Pats? Well, I have 50 years of history and 30 years of history. Yeah, but what does that matter? What does that matter? What does that matter about? You know what's as ancient history as this history and that history is the Belichick-Brady years history. Ownership still in charge.
38:46Ownership definitely still in charge And nothing has changed with your franchises Your team ain't winning the Super Bowl That's just period You got a better chance than your two teams Well who says? The one who did the list Me It's my list
39:02Rich Eisen:Your team drafted way before the others This past year Last year was more of a disaster Than any of the other teams that you're referring to You think the Patriots are in the bottom five of the NFL? I do not I'm just pointing out your level of some colored glasses you're wearing over there there's at least a small outside chance you're like one of those minute men firing the muskets by the way on the scale of things that have scared the crap out of me in my 22 years of being in the musket guys are three a flyover I don't expect is two. And number one are the cannons in Tampa. They fired the cannons during the middle of our pregame show and we flipped out.

According to reports, including on ESPN.com, Rich Cimini, who covers the Jets, three straight substandard practices now for Justin Fields. Uh-oh. Seven on seven drills. No bueno. Two picks in team drills. And the bottom ten scoring offense the Jets have put up there for nine straight seasons, as we are five days into August. People are talking about it, including Justin Fields. It's a great opportunity to see how we're going to respond on Thursday. Like I said, it's inevitable. You're going to have these days in training camp.
42:09Rich Eisen:That's why we're out here. That's why we're out here working. Defense, they won the day at the end of the day. Like I said, it's about how we respond on Thursday, and we've got to come out hot. Jets Packers at 8 Eastern time on NFL Network. That'll be on Saturday. So when he says Thursday, I imagine that's the practice that he's talking about. Makes sense. So there's that. As for Thursday games, we led with one. Bengals, Eagles. Colts, Ravens. Raiders, Seahawks. How about that? Right off the bat. Pete Carroll's going to be there in Lumenfield. Love it. Wearing silver and black. Right off the bat.
42:54Rich Eisen:Go figure that. he said everyone's live in terms of playing that's what he's saying always compete everybody's got a chance to play he's not benching anybody although we'll see what happens how long they're going to play he wants them out there everybody's live everybody's ready to go says Pete on his starters I think Zach Taylor has spoken about that subject matter as well you know because every single year they start slow So, and this is what he had to say about how much of Burrow we're going to see against Philadelphia on Thursday. We'll see. You know, this won't be, we don't have this target as the biggest play time for all of our guys.
43:38We really pegged Washington to be a little more than that. So, again, another thing I hate to put in stone, a couple series, several series, several series, is what will give those starters.

So I'm sure ESPN folk are very happy to hear that. They're going to see maybe Jamar Chase and a lot of Burrow. Yeah. Again, with three preseason games, week one is like, well, Departana pool. Week two is going to be the big to do. And then week three is going to be like, see ya. Kaput.
