In short

The hosts recap WWE storylines and promos (CM Punk vs Roman Reigns, Cody/Randy/Pat McAfee angle) and then shift to an interview with Je’Von Evans (“The Young OG”) about his WWE main-roster rise, WrestleMania plans, and lessons learned.

Guest backgrounds

Je’Von Evans is 21 and a rising WWE star who previously worked in NXT and is now on the main roster. He’s part of a “three-headed monster” with fellow NXT alums Trick and Oba. He’s headed to WrestleMania in a ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship, with the GOAT added to the match.

Key claims (Je’Von)

Main-roster success is “nerve-wracking but a blessing,” and he believes he’s only “scratched the surface.” At the Royal Rumble (Riyadh), he felt he had something to prove because the crowd reaction was mixed. He says he adjusts his in-ring speed for big arenas so crowds can react, citing John Cena’s advice. He emphasizes realism and crowd-specific psychology (different cities like different things). He wants his own path, not to follow Kofi Kingston’s legacy.

Notable examples

Royal Rumble MVP; hearing Brock Lesnar and Roman’s themes; Cena advising him to “slow down for bigger arenas”; his “realism” camera-facing taunts; interactions with Kofi Kingston and advice from Cena/Jeff Hardy/CM Punk.

0:35O'Shea:ladies and gentlemen welcome to a a special episode of the no contest wrestling podcast i am the heel that you love to hate o'shea jackson jr a.k.a petty guerrero and as my t-shirt would tell you you see it you see what time it is hey yo it's me it's me it's the t-double Whoa, the J-I-double-G-2-jiggered, TJ Jefferson. What's up, man? We're cruising down that WrestleMania road, and there's been a couple potholes, a couple bumps, a couple surprises, but the destinations are staying the same, and we're all speed. Oh, I already know. You see this right here? It's some water, a jug of water. That's right, man.

1:17O'Shea:Got to be hydrated. I'm going to Vegas. That's right. I got to make sure I'm right, dude. You know what I say. Don't let dehydration ruin your vacation. Quote him. quote him but uh yeah we got um by the way i got a toothpick in for you know i see you i know you i mean you know you keep it clean as well i feel you but we um we definitely have a a lot of major things happening it looks like our card is finally solidifying punk punk kind of got that roaming bro You kind of got that Roman. Let's just be honest. On that microphone, there are a few peers for Chicago made. Yeah, and, you know, Roman, you're my boy.

2:03O'Shea:But I need you to get the composition out, bro. I need you to write some raps, all right? Because, man, he got you. And, you know, there's some things that Roman can obviously play with. fans once they once you put something out there fans immediately try to debunk everything a wrestler says and yada yada yada guys let them do their thing it's all right they don't hear us screaming at the tv i've learned that from years of watching the lakers so just like let's just chill see where it's going but it's definitely time for a major rebuttal from the otc because Punk came out on fire. When I seen him take this thing off the mic, I was like, all right, yeah.

2:44O'Shea:And didn't go to Gorilla. Left through the crowd. Probably couldn't go back. Left through the crowd. He was like, I don't really need a pet on the back. I'm going to go to the car. Or I'm going to have to hear about this. Right, right, right. I'm going to get written up. And yeah, man. Yeah, I mean, look. Sometimes when you get, I guess, dealt with that severely, it might be time to just let it go. and not, you know, talk about something else. Like after No Vaseline came out, right? 100 Miles and Running, they tried, but he'd already gotten pretty much destroyed by the greatest. And I'll say this to this day, the greatest this song of all time.

3:21I'm not just saying it because you're sitting here. I'm saying it. I mean, the Source once said it. I'm sure, you know, Rolling Stone said it. Vibe Magazine, Bleacher Report. The Bleacher Report. Sports Illustrated, they all said it. But yeah, man, at that point where he's bringing up the dog food line, dog dog. Come on, man. Now, this is from this past Monday night, Raw, as we sit here and we respond to what we saw. We were responding, folks. All right? You know what I mean? You're reacting. And I'm thinking, wow, how do you? Dog food thing? That was a bad, bad, bad time in the company, according to most fans online.

4:01Yeah. 2019, I believe it was. A lot of, I watched a video that somebody put together of some of the hits. Why'd you whisper hits? And I went, wow, okay. Yeah. Yeah, this was a little bit of a rough time. But the dog food thing was bad. And to bring that back up in the weird old man line and just like, yo.

4:27O'Shea:Before Cody Rhodes, that was the last time we had saw Chief Luz. You know, this is before, obviously, he became the head of the table, the tribal chief, and he was still the big dog, yada, yada, yada. But I got to put it out there because that's my boy. Baron Corbin got that dub, bro. Yeah. Baron Corbin got that dub on Roman. And he had the dog food thing. And that's, as a Roman fan, forever a scar. Forever a scar. But it does say something. They got to look back, though. Yeah. Which is another thing why I ended up appreciating John Cena. Because at times where the company's at its lowest and you still out there giving it everything you can, it says something to be able to be out there and do what you're, you know, I don't want to say told, but like working with the cars you're dealt with.

5:18O'Shea:We go to Vegas. And it is important to be that guy for a company. Sometimes you get pedigree in your hair. yeah that was uh when it was happening it was odd yeah you know it was a humiliation ritual we know how these guys but yeah punk punk got busy on the mic and you know when he started that promo and he left the ring and hopped on the table i put on twitter i said the hill turn has started this man is about to and i put the fire emoji in a mic about the flame people So good luck because a motivated CM Punk on a stick is, like I said, there ain't a whole lot of dudes in the history of wrestling.

6:03If you're going to make your top 10 guys on the mic, he almost has to be in your top 10, whether you like him or not. If you're going to be honest.

6:10O'Shea:Yeah, be honest. So I wrote, yeah, that. And then he hopped off the table. Yeah. The crazy thing, bro, was the crowd wasn't, they weren't pro CM Punk. No. for the first five or so minutes. You were hearing some boos. You were hearing Roman chants. It wasn't like that response that CM Punk gets. And that's why I was like, okay. And very few people read the crowd as well as him. And I thought as his promo was going, he did kind of lean heel. She talked about how much money he had. That's a heel move, right? You know, baby faces don't necessarily say, got a lot of money, so I'm okay with something.

6:52all signs were pointing to if that's how this crowd was going to go, that's what he was going to go. And then, like I said, then he jumped off the table.

6:59O'Shea:Yeah. And went to the barricade. And then all of a sudden. Yeah. It flipped. What a flip. It flipped. And also when you mentioned, you know, some prices. Prices. You know, McAfee started catching straight. I wouldn't even say he caught strays because strays. Yeah, that was direct. You're standing there just minding your business. That was direct. Yeah, direct, like. Visceral attack. And, you know, he, punk, when he's in his bag, he's in his bag. And I, you know, I hit him. I was like, you know, that's what I'm talking about. That was, you know, and on Twitter, immediately I was like, that's beautiful from CM Punk.

7:37O'Shea:But he said that wasn't CM Punk. He said that was Black Phil. Now I said, all right, now. Black Shea loved it. But what he meant by that, he showed a picture on his Instagram. He showed a black goat. and like he just, I'm ready to go dark when they want me to. You know, like at any time it can pop off. Because I will say out of all these battles back and forth and digs here and there, he still hasn't gotten them to boo Roman. And I think it's a weird spot because the crowd misses Roman. They want to see Roman. And it's like the tribal chief isn't necessarily a heel character anymore. they love Roman and so it is going to be interesting to see I'm when Punk was bringing up how he went through the indie route and yada yada yada he wasn't chosen and you know the Netball Baby line by the way Netball Baby's up by a billion always baby but yeah so when he started to bring that up it kind of felt like you know I'm real wrestling you know like the real route that a lot of people have to take.

8:52O'Shea:And I took the stairs, you took the elevator type situation. By the way, take the elevator. But what it feels like, what's really, I'm starting to see from Randy and McAfee, McAfee telling Cody, we're going to save the business from you. And then Punk with Roman, the parallel with that of him telling, you know, I did things the right way. him basically saying, I'm going to save the business from you. Cody and Roman, out of nowhere, aren't the business? They were born in the business. So I really need to see some heavy responses from all this jibber-jabber. I'm not here for the jibber-jabber. All right, Mr.

9:35O'Shea:T. Yeah, man. I ain't got time for no jibber-jabber. Jibber-jabber? Since we got to the punk on Monday, and I'm sure we'll talk about that later, we got to start with Cody on Friday. The whole, now look, I'm kind of glad we had a few days in between what happened on Friday and our party today. Because maybe I would have thought differently. Maybe my response would have been different. But we've had a few days to like marinate on this. Now, you got Randy, you got Cody, Pat McAfee comes out. He's the man on the other end of the phone. It seems like, and this is not a McAfee diss. I love Pat. I'm a fan of Pat.

10:11And it's weird that people make it seem like he has no connection at all to wrestling. Oh, bring it down. Because McAfee started off in NXT as an announcer. He's had matches. So it's not like he's not gotten up there and been in the ring. Obviously not on a full-time basis. Right. But he's also not a stranger to the game the way a lot of people are trying to project him as. He's had some skin in this wrestling biz for a few years now. I mean, the man did a moonsault off the top of a steel cage. Like, that earns you some grace in my book.

10:47O'Shea:Some street credit. You know what I mean? Yeah. So, but that being said, I can also sit here and say, was it a little underwhelming him revealing himself to be the man on the phone based upon the names that were being thrown out? Yeah. The different scenarios. It didn't seem like. So, it was a little bit like, oh, okay. So, if you're against that right off the bat, then you're just hating it. Yeah. He made some great points in the ring. Talk to him. But the way a lot of people say online, because, you know, I like to just, you know, as much as it annoys me the way people always complain, you do sometimes do get little tidbits.

11:25Okay. So, yeah, I get it. Somebody said right message, maybe wrong messenger. Okay. I can accept that. But the thing to me is because everyone's flipping out about this. you saw Punk's response later in the show you saw Cody's there's always something right we know that right it's gotta be something it's never hey look over here meanwhile this is coming so I'm gonna say to everybody out there slide a hand who and we can talk about this in a bit but for everyone who's flipping out has a problem with this you're more than welcome to your opinion but just from my decades of watching wrestling and you as well I think we both believe there's a little bit more to this.

12:08And if we're wrong, we're wrong. But that's how I look at it. We'll see. Time will tell. But that's just my initial thought. It was like, okay, you're flipping out about this, but I got a feeling this ain't going to be the end game. And we'll see. But you know what? Right now, we got a special guest. Yeah, we got an old friend in the house. Why don't you go ahead and do what you do? 14:07Brought to you by Argenics.

14:11O'Shea:Absolutely, man. This guy is taking the wrestling world by storm even more than the last time we talked to him. He is our homie, the young OG. If you don't know where he is, probably look up. Because this man is on top of the world. Ladies and gentlemen, Javon Evans. Yes, sir. Please, welcome to the show. There he is. What's up, man? How you living? What's up, G? I'm good, man. I'm good. How y 'all? Man, we good right now. Not as good as you, though. Making some big moves out here. Trying to. Hey, you know, trying to. That's all I was about to say. You ain't trying. You're past the trying part, my G.

14:50You are. The moves are being made. as we speak. Yeah, yeah. You know, well, you know, some may say. Some may say. I'm just, I'm just trying to get a little bouncy, you know what I mean? That's it. That's it. Listen, man, 21 years old with a championship match. Yeah. Ladder at WrestleMania. Come on. Yes, sir. Yes, sir.

15:14O'Shea:21 years old. Hey, my boy. Half as old as WrestleMania itself. Right. We're on 42. He's 21. And I'm not even good at math, and I picked up on that. That's good, bro. Hey, that's that Al Tuna. That's that Al Tuna coming in. So, Javon, we love having new guests. We love bringing people in. But there's nothing like seeing your homie, your people who've been here before. Family. Yeah, exactly. And that's how we feel about yourself, Trick, and Oba. Y 'all were here during y 'all NXT days. Y 'all have come back during your main roster days. You know, you guys are a part of the NCW family. And to see you guys' success that you guys have had being in the main roster has been crazy.

16:08O'Shea:Every situation, you know, the Royal Rumble, you know, screaming, Oh, our boys! It is a great feeling to be a part of you guys with the Rockets on your back. now and yeah if people are wondering is that the reason yeah that's also the reason so yeah no i want to know first of all what does it mean to you to your first year on the main roster you're headed to mania you're you know you're headed to mania and we'll get into this but loki you in a match that could be a show stealer so you know headed to mania and you guys his first year on the main roster that that you know the three-headed monster that you guys are what does that mean to you honestly it's very um it's very nerve-wracking but it's it's such a blessing you know i mean like literally a year ago i was basically opening for for mania week you know right or in mania weekend and and now um in wrestlemania so it's it's it's crazy bro it's it just shows that like hard work does pay off and honestly bro like i know i'm just getting started you know i mean like like honestly we i feel like we haven't even started yet bro we just barely scratched the surface you feel me so like uh bro i'm i'm so blessed bro i'm so honored and And I can't wait to see what happens, especially in WrestleMania, bro.

17:41I'm excited.

17:42O'Shea:Yeah, because I know your elimination chamber, when you walked in, you grabbed Stu, you said, I'm nervous, I'm nervous. I need to know just the idea of when you started wrestling, the role that you've taken, and for it to, in two weeks, be, well, not even a full one, but like to know that you're headed to Mania in a match that could be a show stealer for a title. Yeah. What does that feel for you? Bro, I'm still nervous. It means you alive. It means you alive. That's all. For real, you know what I mean? I see the fire. I'm excited, but then I'm like, yo, this is probably the most amount of people that I've already, not already, but I've wrestled in front of, you know what I mean?

18:38And I don't know, bro. It's just so nerve wracking because mania is the biggest show of the year, you know? So it's only so much that you can do for real, you know? Like, I don't want to go too crazy because I want to have, you know, I don't want to try to, how can I say it, like, overbuild or like overlap, you know what I mean? Like, every year try to go crazier. because eventually I won't be able to go crazy anymore. You know what I'm saying? I'll be old. You feel me? So, but no, bro, I'm excited. This means so much, bro. Even being able to wrestle in Mania, you know what I mean? Or at Mania, like not even like, not even it being a part of the title.

19:20You know, the title is great. Like I can become the youngest IC champion in WWE history. You know what I mean? But like just being able to say like, I am competing at WrestleMania.

19:31O'Shea:It's insane, bro. And don't forget, the GOAT got added to the match. Yeah. He did. OG. That's great. OG. Wild, bro. So at some point, Javon, man, do us a favor, right? What's up? After you get announced, after you make your way to the ring, brother, and do yourself a favor, if you get a chance, just stand there for a second and look to the top. Look around. Take it all in. I've heard that from so many people just because, you know, You're never going to get this chance again, right? Like Ric Flair said, you can never be first, but you can always be next. This is your first time, G. So just make sure that you sit there and you get a chance just for your own, you know, for your own mentals, for your own self.

20:13Just take it in, dog, because what you're doing and what you're going to do is unheard of, right? We had one nine-year-old, Nicholas. Yeah. Was that WrestleMania when you did? Still ain't seen him. That was WrestleMania, right? but that was kind of a gimmick but this is legit brother you are the youngest man to do what you're getting to do dog so just make sure just for five seconds and understand that what you're doing is special and ain't nobody else done what you've done and be proud of yourself my brother please I appreciate you bro and honestly dog I feel like that's going to happen either way I'm just going to be like, yeah, you know, Stu, Stu.

21:01He'll be like, Javon, come on. Come on, Javon. Let's go. My bad, OG. My bad. Stu's the man. Stu's the man. Yeah. Shout out to Stu, man. Yeah. We talked about him. You know, we had Cena on a few weeks ago. And we talked about, you know, how we got to know Stu along with the rest of the world because John would always talk to him. And it seems like you've taken that baton from John. Was that something that was planned on? and it was just something you came out and you saw him and you were hyped and you just grabbed him and start talking to him. Honestly, it was just something that I started doing.

21:37Of course, OG Cena, he will always do it. But honestly, I just forgot what to say. You know what I mean? You guys just come out, make a sound effect. You know what I mean? I'm not nervous tonight, so what do I say now? What's up, Stu? Fuck out, Stu! Like, something I just started doing, but I feel like, honestly, like, that's just so real. You know, like, I feel like that brings the realness into wrestling, you know? Because everybody, people don't really acknowledge, like, the camera for real, but I'm just a normal person. You feel me? I'm just a normal person that's somewhat good at professional wrestling.

22:19You feel me? So anytime that I can bring in, like, realism, that's a word, right? You know, I'm still young, so I'm trying to – My vocabulary is still building. Realism. But anytime I can bring that into wrestling, bro, I try to, for sure.

22:39O'Shea:No doubt. Absolutely. Now, you also – you know, this mania is coming up, but you've had some big matches since the last time that we saw you. Yeah. Talk to us about your feeling going to that Rumble. Oh. Royal Rumble in Riyadh, you know, just far away from home. Oh, come on now. Yeah, so talk to us about what it meant for you to be selected for that, what goes through your mind once you find out where your spot is. Let us mere mortals know what goes on during that. bro so um bro i it was crazy you know because the rumble is such an iconic match you know i mean so for for me to be able to uh be a part of it was just insane in general you know and then going to saudi arabia was just another level of insanity you know and then becoming the the mvp you know There's another part of insanity, you feel me?

23:47But it was It was just crazy And I just remember like Going out there And of course like before the You know, the time is going down Doing the countdown, I'm just sitting there And I'm like, okay, alright, I'm next Who's out there? All but Damien Alright, alright, you know what? Easy, come on, easy, we good, we good And I went out there, boom My music hit, and I go out and it was like, it's like you hear a reaction but it's not like an NXT reaction. You know what I mean? So once I hear that there's some people that know who I am, but there's a lot more people that I don't know or not familiar with my work, then it's like, oh, now I have something to prove.

24:32You know what I mean? I just remember like, alright, cool, I'm gonna go out here I'm gonna do what I gotta do. Anytime somebody tries to eliminate me, I'm gonna make it seem like they about to eliminate me But just to mess with their head You know what I mean And bro like And just being able to Show what I can do And then bro like being in there And like hearing like Brock Lesnar's theme song You know what I mean And hearing like Ray Newell's theme song Being in the ring with Roman You know what I mean like it was crazy It was just so wild bro I mean I keep saying it bro But I'm just so blessed to like have all these opportunities And being put in these positions bro It is crazy but that was literally my home onset when it came to the rumble it is a blessing but you you've clearly done the work right for sure for sure I appreciate it that's part of it too

25:21O'Shea:that RKO spot was that a redo of the NXT I can't fully remember that match man but like I know there was something that you wanted to get a little cleaner was that that redo so it kind of was but I didn't really think of it that way you know what I mean like Like, yeah, we messed up the first time. But now, like, all right. Bro, Semper Lewis is better. You know what I mean? Like, I went for something crazier first time. Didn't try it. You know, didn't press it. None of that. And it turned out how it turned out, you know? So I just tried to go with something that I know I can do no matter what move I get caught into.

26:03You know what I mean? And I just remember jumping. I was in the air. And I saw the position. I was like, all right. Same thing with the Samoa drop Oh man Yeah For sure It was pretty wild I wasn't expecting Sometimes bro I'd be getting too hot in the air Like You listen Said no one ever Bro Hold on man Sometimes I jump too hot Sometimes I jump too hot I'm like alright Come on Von calm down It'd be sometimes

26:36O'Shea:Where I'm like What is because there's sometimes where you might go, your distance is a little more than your height. And so, like, I'll be like, he know they're not about to catch you. And what goes through your mind of like, oops, yeah, they might not have me on this one. For sure. No, no. So sometimes, honestly, my mindset is, and maybe this sounds crazy, and maybe I'm just saying this because I'm young right now, but like sometimes I try to overshoot you know what I mean only because from a fan perspective you know what I mean like if I hit something 100 % clean now it looks like we dancing right you feel me yeah which I like I don't want wrestling to look like that like I want like true emotion you know what I mean so it's kind of like if you get me mad or if I'm if I'm too excited and I jump in the air there's some sometimes but if I'm in a real fight and I'm feeling myself too much, you know what I mean?

27:36I'll swing just something crazy. I'm not going to hit that right hand every time.

27:40O'Shea:Right, right, right. You know what I mean? So sometimes like when I do a dive, if I'm too serious, you know what I mean? If I'm too locked in, I'll overshoot. But I still get them and I'll almost hurt myself. At the end of the day, I know I'm going to be okay. You know what I mean? The logic is crazy. I'm going to be sore, but I know I'm going to be okay. I promise. I promise. I've been wrestling for eight years. Okay, I know how to land. I'm okay. Boy, to be 20, man. Because Lord knows, man. If I see something and I'm like, I'm about to hurt myself, bro, I'm out for two to four weeks, bro. Just the thought of it.

28:15O'Shea:Yeah, I'm cool, man. No. No, man. I pulled my back stretching this morning. Oh, wow. All right, come on now. So, Javon, man, like, now that you made it up to the main roster, can you give us, like, a few things that now you've learned since you've been up to the main roster? top now that you didn't know or weren't aware of and now you're like oh this is how this works or and it could be anything man whether it's in the ring or out of the ring just something that kind of opened your eyes but so for me the main thing that i've learned uh especially going into main roster is that because we travel so much you don't wrestle in this in the in front of the same wrestling crowds you know i mean you know i felt like i was aware of that uh especially just like going into the indies you know i mean like not every crowd is gonna like everything that you do you know i mean like uh minnesota is not gonna like the same thing that new york like you know i mean so but you know i kind of i kind of learned a little bit of that uh on the indie scene you know i mean um but i wasn't really like truly aware because you know of course like on the indies like some people may not like what you do or may not be a fan of it but you can kind of like easily transition them into becoming a fan rather than in front of a big wrestling crowd or a bigger wrestling crowd.

29:37It's just so different. You can try, but if somebody is sitting beside somebody, they're just staring. Not a fan of what you're doing. You don't want to be the only fan of something that person's doing. The main thing that I have learned is that each wrestling crowd likes different things you know and then i i love that i'm learning that right now because by the time i'm i'm older you know like i'm gonna already know what new york likes or what california likes or what north carolina likes you know what i mean so so it's it's a big learning experience i'm glad that that i'm i'm learning all that currently yeah the stuff that plays in like la or dallas might not go over in philly and chicago because those exactly two rough crowds so yeah yeah that's Smart.

30:27O'Shea:It's kind of the same thing. When I would go on tour with my father, different cities might get a different set list. And the starter of the show in LA is going to be different than the start of the show in New York. He always likes to start the show in New York with the naysayer you love to hate. Get some real writing.

30:51O'Shea:So that's different to think of in a wrestling perspective that some crowds aren't going to like certain things that the other ones would, that I think a lot of people don't put into consideration when they're watching. You know, just like, oh, well, they're in whatever the hell. Me personally, I love a little small town now. I forget where we were, but it's a club called Belly Up in Colorado. They was rocking for your boy when I was like 19 on stage with my dad. Man, shout out to y 'all. I'm wherever y 'all are. But what I was I was hesitant to bring this up. OK. Oh, but I got to. Well, oh, Javon, you know, you boys.

31:33O'Shea:The last time you was on, you gave us a gift. OK, you gave us a gift of one of our show's most viral moments. Yeah. You know, do we happen? Do we have that conversation? All right. Yes, please. This is when we brought up a popular console, Sega Genesis, known around the world. And here's your response to that. My older brother, Daryl. This is how he introduced me to wrestling, period. Are you ready for my old moment? Yes, sir. We played WWF Raw on Sega Genesis. And he would always pick Shawn Michaels. I'm like, you don't want to be nobody else? Who is this dude? always pick Shawn Michaels. I got a question, and this is really going to show my age.

32:21Y 'all probably already know.

32:25What second Genesis? I don't know what that is.

32:30O'Shea:Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Javon Evans, bro. Hold on, wait, wait. Hold on. Sega Genesis, bro, this is going to get clipped. I don't know. Oh.

32:47O'Shea:Yeah, I still feel it. My soul hurts from that. It still hurt to this day. You know, sometimes in life... Hold on, wait, wait. I like to look nice when people lie to me. You know... Let's get proper. I was just confused. Right. It showed. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, you know, now that we've had our experience with that, I feel like we can all grow from that moment. Right, right, right. Beautifully said. Beautifully said. You see, that's media training right there. You see that, bro? I totally expected someone to gift him a Sega Genesis at this point. Take him somewhere. Let him see the world.

33:35O'Shea:Who has anybody in the locker room given you, you know, some heat for that? Yeah. No, no, not yet. Not yet. I think because the locker room just expects me to say something like that. You know what I mean? Of course, Javon doesn't know that.

33:56They haven't clowned me for it yet. You feel me? But since we're reminding the wrestling world and everybody right now, I for sure will probably be hearing about that at Mania. you know what's what's kind of awesome i guess for shay and i is you know this got brought up a few times with other wrestlers i remember in particular we're talking to i think it was joe henry joe henry and joe goes so somehow this got brought up and joe goes so you know me and the guys in the back of one show we were talking about javon not knowing sega jazz and i said oh hold up hold up joe henry i said i don't mean to interrupt you but you mean people at your co-workers know about our show?

34:39And he was like, yeah, of course. We all talk about it. And so it was at that moment that you and I were like, wow, okay, the boys and the girls in the back are talking about it. We're on the right path. Yeah, we're on the right path. Misho, Misho, trying to get your names out there, you know what I mean? Mainstream, something crazy.

34:58O'Shea:But I will let you know that AJ Styles knows that you don't know what the second Jetson is. I'm sorry, man. It was such an interesting time. I'm giving up for O'Shea, y 'all. Oh, my God. Thanks for joining us. Javon and I will continue this. Now, speaking of, you know, a legend like AJ Styles, but another man who's a legend in his own right, Kofi Kingston. We have been seeing you have a lot of interaction with Kofi, and I know when I first saw it come across the screen, and it was a moment of, man, I didn't know I needed this. You know, I didn't know that I needed this moment right here. I kind of want this.

35:41O'Shea:Yeah, like, you know, and we all, you know, especially our people know what Kofi mean. Yes, black. Yeah, that's what we mean. But, yeah, what Kofi means to us and, you know, just the moment that he had with Kofi Mania. Is that the last WrestleMania that was one night? it might have been sorry no that's no that's actually a good question yeah but my other personality be trying to take the microphone my bad i'll check that yeah so what what is it like to be able to you know like what have you guys had obviously what you can talk about but being able to interact with kofi to know that the company sees that moment and is like we got to put them together?

36:29O'Shea:What does that feel for you? Working with Kofi Kingston, put it in your own words. It's wild. It's just a... Let me see. I'll probably say it's unexpected right now. I wasn't expecting to be working with to me a legend. A future Hall of Famer for sure. You know what I mean? But I think it's great that the E sees something in that. Now, of course, he's trying to recruit me, which is cool. But I just know how he is. I know how he is. I know how Xavier is. You feel me? They got mad at Big E because Big E got hurt and couldn't wrestle. He literally couldn't wrestle. you're mad at him and now y 'all you know what I mean like they had some valid points so the gaslighting is crazy come on bro what are we doing no no no but like you know it's like right now especially on TV like right now you know I'm just like I don't want to be in somebody else's footsteps you feel me like I want Javon to have his own trail, his own path.

37:56You feel me? Yes, I'll take notes. You feel me? I'll get some mentors, but I don't want to follow somebody else's legacy. That's the same thing with the Rumble. Everybody was expecting me to do something crazy, like a crazy save at the Rumble, which is cool, but it's like Kofi has already made that something so legendary that me continuing it, no disrespect respect to Kofi, much love. Me continuing it only makes his legacy better. You feel me? I feel like I want to have my own thing, my own craft. If there is something that the Young OG can do that nobody else has done and build on that, then I'm willing to do that than try to continue somebody else's legacy.

38:48O'Shea:It's kind of the same thing with an actor when it comes to not wanting to be typecast in that same role that you've seen. You're going to have to, if you want me, you're going to have to think of some different avenues. I can still give it to you if you need it, but don't just have it in your head. All we got to do is this and have him do that now. You're that guy now. Kudos to you. As a fan, it is crazy to see you and Kofi working together. In my fantasy booking. I need you, Kofi and Montez Ford in a triple threat for some reason. I just need you to go crazy. I ain't mad at that at all. You know, you know.

39:30O'Shea:Shout out to Tess. Oh, yo, you already know. That's Unk now. You know? Uncle Montez. That's Unk now. You already know. You already know. We're at that age, man. We're at that age. Hey, Javon, man. TJ got there before me. I mean, I am old. man, that's for sure. But I'm still doing this. Come on now, OG. I'm still doing this thing. And you know what? It beats the alternative. It beats the alternative. Absolutely, man. So, Juwan, I know you've been into the wrestling game for a minute, but with this being WrestleMania, this being to people who have never watched, we're going to be on ESPN2 the day before WrestleMania.

40:15The Deuce? The Deuce. Come on, man. There's going to be people there, right? that we're going to be introducing this whole concept, this whole thing that is WrestleMania to them. It's going to be like many of us when we had our first time. There's going to be hundreds of thousands of people that 42 is going to be their first WrestleMania experience. So what was your first WrestleMania experience? Like, what's the... Oh, TJ, this is such a good question. What's like, you know, the first WrestleMania that you can remember? Because I'll give you mine. And I was going to use this for the show, but I'll give you this.

40:51back don't remember how old it was but it was the first wrestlemania i lived two hours from pittsburgh in those days javon they had something called closed circuit which wasn't pay-per-view it was you'd go to an arena they'd set up screens and you would pay money like you were watching it live except you'd watch it on the screen like a movie that was closed circuit and they had this at the civic arena in pittsburgh where the pittsburgh penguins played hockey and apparently what happened on that day is about less than half an hour before the end of the show, screen went black. They lost the connection.

41:27So what I guess WWE did with whoever else decided that two weeks later, I think it was two weeks later, they would air it on our local ABC station, our local ABC channel on Sunday afternoon. So I can remember coming home from church in the living room and now WrestleMania, the very first one starting. And you know, there's Muhammad Ali and Liberace and Cindy Lauper. Then you got Mr. T in the main event, you know, and all that. And I'm just a kid. Like I was fortunate because I never would have got to see this. I couldn't have, you know, we wouldn't have been able to afford to go that. So they'd be able to sit in the living room with my whole family.

42:05My grandpa was O'Shea knows is the one who is the reason for me even sitting here because he gave me my love for wrestling to be able to watch that first WrestleMania on regular TV was just like that. You know, to this day, I'm still kind of amazed by it. So, you know, after I gave my long rambling answer, do you remember? That was a fire answer. Yeah, that was great. He's a professional. That's a little bit.

44:26O'Shea:Yeah. I heard it wasn't a live time. Yeah. It happened twice. It happened the next year.

44:36so yeah that was my my first mania I remember like of course like the ones before like I had school the next day so my mom wouldn't like she would let me watch like two or three matches and then go to sleep yeah man do you make her feel bad about that now? I try to but then you know you know how moms are well look at you now look at you now you know look at you now because I had that with my mom you know on my on my report cards I'd always get like uses time wisely needs improvement every parent teacher conference from first grade to 12th well TJ's smart he's funny but he talks too much and I would always get from my mom like you're never gonna get you always want to be the class clown you always want to talk where's that gonna to get you.

45:27And then I became comedy producer for a show called Yo Mama. And now I get to talk for a living. And I said to her the other day, I'm like, is there something you want to say to me? Oh my God. But then you don't know. My mom has a 13 and 0 street fighting record so I don't want to push that too far. Hey, we good on that, mama. I just want to let her know sometimes you doubted me. That's real. No, bro. I would I would try to Try to avoid parent-teacher conferences And Yeah, you told us

46:03O'Shea:He wasn't all good at that Yeah I already knew I already knew, nah Nah Nah Yeah That first That was my first mania I just remember like Being with my With my pops And He was like, hey Like I'm gonna go take you to watch WrestleMania and then we went to like this sports bar and uh I just remember like being like around the bar of course like everybody was there and and you know John Cena was my guy yeah yeah yeah yeah so you know oh I think that was the same night it was uh uh Taker and Triple H and Sean oh my god in the cage yeah end of the era right That was a hell of a cell, right? Bro, that was no...

46:59Bro, Undertaker's entrance, that was my low-key, probably top three entrances, in my opinion. Because he was walking. Come to find out, these were actually extras. So, when he was walking and he had the final shot, I thought it was the crowd. Yeah, I thought it was the crowd that I was trying to reach for. You feel me? But they was trying to make it it seemed like a graveyard, which is fire, but just like, I will always remember that entrance. That was my favorite entrance, like probably ever. I'm not even going to cap to you.

47:31O'Shea:Whoever brought that into the board meeting, give them all of the money. Yes. For sure. Oh my God, the visual. For sure. Yeah, the visual was crazy. But yeah, and then, you know, having seen a rock, like, I wasn't really familiar with The Rock. You know, like, I knew he was some legend. You feel me? Well, that makes sense because Rock had been gone for a few years. So by the time. Bro, the brother don't know what the second Genesis was. All right? I get it. I understand. Yeah, you feel me? Because, like, The Rock was my guy. I remember thinking, I'm not going to watch this. They're about to make Cena beat my boy.

48:12O'Shea:Boy. I even. Listen, if you thought I went crazy at 39. Sorry, Cody. If you thought I went crazy at 39, I was going. The Rock got the title again? In this day and age? Oh my goodness. I was going crazy, man. Crazy, yeah. I remember Cena going for the people's elbow, and I was like, oh yeah! Yeah! Beginning of the end. I got up there with the rock bottom, one, two, three. Beginning of the end. That wasn't for the belt. Right, right, right. That's later on. But to get that win over Cena was huge because my little brother is the president of C Nation. We've discussed this a lot. And for John to beat Rock at the main event of Mania, do you know what I would have had to hear?

49:05O'Shea:Do you know what would have been drilled into my head by Sharif? So I needed that dub. Big Brothers need the dub. Yeah, his brother is such a Cena fan. He's never come to one of our tapings here. But when John Cena came and sat in the studio, Oh, my man Sharif was in the building. With his spinner belt. Oh, yeah, yeah. Age one. Ain't seen him since. Nope. Hey. Can't get a test in the morning.

49:31So John Cena was your dude then growing up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was like my main guy. Of course, like, he had like the colorful shorts and all. but like I felt like everybody and this is probably different or like a different reason why people like Cena but like everybody was wrestling and wrestling gear and he just came out in Jordan's in a shirt and I was like this is tough this is fun yeah

50:11O'Shea:Yeah, yeah, yeah. You make me upset because I definitely wanted to ask Cena when we had him. There was a time in WWE where everybody had to follow this dress code, where everybody got on button downs and business attire and all this. Except you. How did you get past that? What's the conversation? Not you, John. Listen, guys. That's insane. And it made him stand out, which honestly is probably why he got to do it. but it makes you stand out. Yeah, the jorts, I've only seen Stone Cold look cool in them. So, like, yeah, that's big business, man. Nice. It's the franchise doing big business. I love this.

50:52For real, for real. But, yeah, no, Cena was my guy for sure. And, of course, you know, Jeff Hardy and CM Punk, like, those two were my favorite as well, you know, because Jeff Hardy was just himself. And then CM Punk was, like, the only person at the time that was talking crazy to anybody. You know what I mean? And nobody was doing that. Everybody kind of just sounded like wrestlers talking. You know? And CM Punk was just like, this is how I feel. I'm going to say it on the mic, and you're not going to do nothing about it. And I was like, dang.

51:26O'Shea:You want to talk about a feud. Right. CM Punk and Jeff Hardy, they were going to be there. Yeah, that was – For real. I'm assuming at this point you've had a chance to chop it up with all three of them, right? Mm-hmm. What have those conversations been like? Have any of the three of them, Hardy, Punk, or Cena, dropped some knowledge on you that resonated? Of course. Of course. Of course, I see Punk all the time. You feel me? So I talk to him all the time. And of course, Cena and Jeff are always busy. But every time I get a chance to text them or just reach out or see them in person, I'm for sure picking their brain.

52:07Most of. is there something that stands out that you've incorporated as soon as you heard one of them say this and you went, Oh bet. Yeah. So I was talking to Sina, uh, before the day of his last show. Okay. And, um, he was getting a haircut and basically he was just telling me that you basically have to slow down for bigger arenas so they can react to what you're doing you know like nxt oh and y 'all probably already heard this before but nxt and main roster of course two different speeds yeah oh 100 right right right so when i came into to raw like i knew i knew that i was gonna slow down but i didn't know like when exactly you feel me so So Cena was basically putting me on, you know, to win the slowdown, how to do it.

53:07You know what I mean? And kind of just be like, hey, like, you got people in the Raptors that's trying to catch up to what you're doing. You know what I mean? So, like, the people in the Raptors are trying to, basically, they're looking at a Titan Tron depending on what you're doing. You know what I mean? If you're going 100 miles per hour, then the crowd can't react. You feel me? Can't digest what they're looking at Exactly So now I'm trying I'm starting to slow down But I'm also trying to figure out Exactly what parts And that also just comes with time and listening to the crowd For sure Because if the crowd is going crazy Then you can slow down but you don't want to slow down for too long Because then you're going to lose the crowd Right Keeping it at the right temperature Exactly the right temperature bro so that's what that's like the the main thing that uh popped up you know i mean and i feel like i'll always that's that's what's helping me right now feel me i feel like you know i used and i've said this on this podcast at least four or five times that in my opinion eddie guerrero may have been the the greatest house show wrestler that i'd ever seen because as a kid always sitting up at the very top of the arena, it always seemed like he was playing to us up top.

54:26And so what John says is making sense to me. And I hope that does resonate with you because Eddie, everything he did, it was like being in a theater actor where you have to emote and become a little bit larger. It's hard to explain unless you go back and watch some Eddie Guerrero house show stuff. But the stuff that he did made us all feel like we were two feet away from him. you know so that's some interesting and i'd say some good advice that uh the never seen 17 gave you oh yeah yeah he be putting me on he put me on now i feel like i've just learned like so much especially from the guys you know you know the the boys in the back bro like like they just always put me on you feel me but i'm always asking too you know i'm always asking hey like watch my match like let me know what you think you feel me like that's the point where i was asking Gunther to watch my match.

55:16You feel me? And he would be straight up with me and then give me a chop. So it's kind of like... It's kind of like... You feel me? He's still a douchebag, bro. You know, like, dang, bro. What you doing, bro? I'm like, hey, can you watch my match? He's like, yo. Walk off. I'm like, all right. Hey, he watched my match, though. Yeah, that's right. You know, we get that a lot. But the fact that you're able to, and I think it's a testament that they must really like him, to share knowledge with him. And it's smart on you to take advantage. We have Kurt Warner calling to the Rich Eisen show a lot during football.

55:56Obviously, Super Bowl winner, Hall of Fame quarterback. Go Rams. And Rams, sure. Cardinals, Giants. And Rich would ask him, because Kurt is really a savant when it comes to being a quarterback. He truly is. And Rich would be like, does anyone call you and ask you for advice? And he's like, no, not really. And I'm like, if I'm a young quarterback in this league, and I'm seeing this guy who obviously has this plethora of knowledge and I have access to talk to him, I'm going to get to the point where I'm going to make him change his number because you're going to get sick of hearing from me. So the fact that you, at your age, because let's be honest, dog, it's not a knock on young people, but I've been your age.

56:37You've never been mine, so I can share this with you. What you know at 21, you may think this is it, but it's like there's so much more. As you get older, so much more knowledge comes in the fact that you're already on this game. The fact that you're already smart enough to know. Look around this locker room. There are legends here, dog. And I can pick something from each.

56:58O'Shea:Think about that night at, I believe it was, a house show, and Kevin Owens asked Stone Cold to come out and hit him with a stunner. and Stone Cold's reply was, nobody's ever asked me that. No, that was Punk. Oh, that was Punk. That was CM Punk. That was the very first episode we did. Right, right, right. He was in San Diego. He goes, Steve's just always sitting in the back. He goes, and no one's talking to Steve Austin. He goes, I just went up to him. Insane. It was like, you have to shoot your shot when you are around these dudes. It's Steve Austin. Yeah. Arguably the biggest star in the business and the man sitting there and you don't want to go.

57:33You got to do it. Yeah, so you, dog, you are so past. you're so ahead of it man it's ridiculous Kevin Owens had to shoot a shot

57:42O'Shea:asking for the stunner though that I mean like come on you can't just be using the stunner yeah that's true but yeah you have to while it's there why not I mean you're only here for so long on this planet man you're trying to leave your mark here you are seeing people that have left theirs come on man come on man I feel like working on this show that we do, the Rich Eisen show, I get to every day watch Rich Eisen. And he hates it when I say this, but he left already, so he can't stop me. I get to watch a master at work every day, bro. I get to watch this man who's been doing this for almost 30 years.

58:24He's legendary. He and Stuart Scott were legendary. You got a Stuart Scott sweatshirt on. And so I get to watch. And it's like, if I don't get better at this job. After I've got to watch this dude interview people, dog, who sometimes, Je’Von, he might not know anything about the person coming on, outside of what card he gets. And then he will flip this interview, and you would have thought that these two had hung out for five hours a night before. You know, it's like, so that's on me. You, with the actors you get to work with, you know, if you're not picking brains, if you're not picking brains, you've got one of the most successful ones who, you know, share a name with.

59:05So if you don't pick a little, you're not doing due diligence. The fact that you get to do this, man, like I said, bro, just keep that up.

59:14O'Shea:Yeah, and I will say the people that, you know, in other avenues of entertainment, whether that be, you know, acting, athletes as well. When you are in, you know, a business and you stay a fan of the business, you still watch. You still get excited. You still like that. That joy is still in it. So is there any match on these cards that you excited to see? I was literally wanting to ask. Yeah. For sure. For sure. Of course, Brock and Oba. Oh, come on. Who's going to come on? The Super Bowl? Who's not excited to see that? I'm trying to think. You know, Punk and Roman. Yeah, they got it, bro. I feel like that build was or is so...

1:00:07It's different. You know what I mean? Because, of course, they talking crazy to each other. Yeah. But you just told me that you're going to bury me beside my pops. Yeah, bro. Yep. Fool like we not fighting after that I'm gonna bury you first You know what I mean Yeah it's a new level Yeah yeah But that build is crazy Just like From a real person standpoint Not even from a fan bro Just like If I got a stranger From the street And just showed them the promos That Punk and Roman been doing that I feel like honestly I feel like he be like they about to fight? Like they gotta fight at this point you know what I mean?

1:01:01So I'm excited for that AJ and Becky Oh yeah come on now I feel like I'm ready I'm ready to see AJ get back in the zone for real you know what I mean? Like really lock back in and of course like Liv and Stephanie Bro I was about to say

1:01:20O'Shea:you want to see two people that look like they fight? Yeah Those two look like they really, really, really. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, they talk. Yeah. Yeah. They need to solve them. They need that. They need that. They need to solve the hands. So, but yeah, those are matches. Of course, you know, of course, the, the, the, the, I see the title. You have a front row seat beyond front row seat. Beyond front row seat. my one so you brought that up right let's talk about the five men that you you're gonna have to compete with in this championship match give me a little bit about each of the five hold on I'm also sorry bro I'm sorry before we get to that bro Randy and Cody bro oh okay I'm sorry I'm sorry but I like I feel like I feel like Randy is is is too locked in you know Like I um, I hit him.

1:02:24Yeah. I was like, dang, you good? After he went crazy, I hit him like, dang, you good? And then he was just like, yes, that's it.

1:02:36O'Shea:Oh, okay. Okay. Say less. Yeah. I'll just talk to you about the mania, bro. We good. You start to see that vein. Yeah. All he said was yes. You feel me with a period? excited. Hey, you tripping again. Hey, that's, hey, that's all you, my boy. I just taught you at Mania. Right. But, but yeah, I'm sorry, that was the other, the other match I was excited. Any thoughts about how that has taken the twist with Pat McAfee? Do you have any thoughts on maybe what Pat said about the business? Is that something that you go, hmm, he's got a point or you're like, you know what, my name is Paul and that's between y 'all.

1:03:15My name, Bennett. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel like there's just certain things that people that are not familiar or don't come from the wrestling business don't understand. And they tend to express that. You feel me? In a certain way. But I feel like Wrestling isn't This isn't like a regular Sport We take this very very serious Because our bodies Our lives are on the line There's legacy behind all this Literally some people Honestly feed their families Because of this You feel me I feel like There are things that some people do say or have an opinion on and they tend to express that in a certain way or just you know publicly you feel me but bro it's bro why can't we just you know have fun bro why can't we just like have fun make money like bro yeah it's hungry bro it's a selfish business out here bro You feel me like you You gotta do what you gotta do bro But also you You can't be talking crazy And expect nobody else To talk crazy back Right Exactly You can't You can't be You cannot Not expect Receipts You know Especially from From the OG's That's been doing it For a long time You know That's been through a lot To get to where they're at And now you're dissing them on them You know what I mean So And You know Hey Hey Punk was talking

1:05:11O'Shea:That's what he could do He said what he had to say But it's the Russell Mania so we good either way Exactly man Publicity that's what it is And they are setting it up to be It's just a level It's a level of personal That you gotta find In matches when it gets to Mania Things are always a little better It's one thing to go out there And and you know put on a good show but if you can give me that little uh wait does that that look a little if you can give me that come on now yeah man that's when you could really steal the show and yeah cody and and randy obviously with a history it feels a little like there's some there's some things in there that you're like all right this is kind of a padawan jedi master kind of like, you know, type situation where Cody needs to prevail.

1:06:06O'Shea:But, I mean, Randy is Randy. And he's feeling it. Yeah, exactly. He's listening to the voices. You got Stephanie McMahon coming out and being like, listen, you need to lock in. That's crazy. It's crazy that people think Cody's got to be locked in. For the last four years, my man's been locked in. Like, he's not new to this anymore. He went out and he proved on his own certain things, right? So, I don't know. It's always the fan thing, right? I want to get back to that ladder match question with you. But it's the fan thing.

1:06:42And I hate to say this, Javon, and it's probably going to happen at some point to you because these fans are so fickle. Fickle. And once they build you, it's just like life. You know, there's a song where at first they love you, then they hate you, then they love you again.

1:06:57O'Shea:Yeah. Right? It's almost like people just want to build you up. We built Cody. Cody went out, did all this stuff, made wrestling overall better for all fans, if you want to be honest with it, right? If you're not one of these weirdos on the internet and you just love wrestling, made things better. But then what happens? It gets to a certain point. People kind of turn on you because they help you be successful. You're the reason I'm here. I don't get to this, what, fourth? main event unless all you out there are every time on the screen and but now i'm here and now you want to turn on me wrestling fans man i'm one of them but sometimes we are the worst yeah like it might be somebody in the crowd hit the wall with cody and be like this dude sucks you know so just you know i feel like i you know i'm kind of looking you like a maybe a ricky the dragon steamboat, whereas steamboat may be the ultimate baby face.

1:08:01I don't know how familiar you are with him. You probably are. The dragon, the ultimate baby face, in my opinion. I don't think he ever went heel. For some reason, I don't see a heel Javon Evans because I don't necessarily see the fans turning on him the way they tend to do people. But if they do, I have no doubt that the young OG will be able to flip that switch because he's a professional and he'll be making calls to certain people be like, is there something I need to do? Stew into the game right here. I could tell. Come on, though. Gotta be. Gotta be. There's actually a lot of people that don't really see a Hilljabon.

1:08:38You know? I was talking to, before Randy started going crazy, I was talking to him about it. He was like, yeah, bro, you're just such a good baby face. I'm kind of excited to see what happens when you're a Hill. because the crowd, as of right now, they like me a lot. They love you. But, you know, people, if you do your research, sometimes the wind blows a different direction. Sometimes Javon's twin brother named J Malachi comes out. He can tweet. You know what I mean? you know sometimes he just be doing too much and he is too aggressive and it gets gets too mad you feel me but i've talked to him about it and he's taking a break from wrestling right now so the world is luckier do you still keep yeah yeah do you still keep in touch with uh kid black america so actually uh you guys still you guys still cool yeah yeah no no uh we are he you know he grew up.

1:09:50Of course, he's still kind of in the wrestling game. I think he's doing more luchador stuff. You know what I mean? He still wears a mask. Actually, no. He took his mask off, which is pretty crazy. But then, somehow, when he took the mask off, apparently he looks exactly like Jay Malachi. I don't know why. I only know of... They try to say we all look alike, which is wild, man. It's wild. That is so racist. Like, what are we doing? Hey, come on, bro. Hey, what do you say? I'm not going to lie. I was dying over here. He was like, wrestling fans are such a, they're fickle. And then Shane was, fickle, fickle.

1:10:40O'Shea:That's our chemistry, bro. Got to throw that ad lib. Fickle, fickle.

1:10:49I'm just like

1:10:56That's how we do That's what we try to do Try to get you guys to laugh I'm not gonna lie

1:11:05O'Shea:I'm saying that in my wine and bash When I come out I ain't gonna lie Fickle

1:11:15oh please do please do bro I'm gonna be crying or you save that for for the hill turn oh yeah yeah yeah oh that's so funny

1:11:29O'Shea:yeah bro I got you know I get a little my wires ain't all the way there it's all good bro hey I love it Listen, at the house, whenever something stops at 2, I'm in there like this. 2.

1:11:46O'Shea:Yeah, I can't help it, bro. It's just a wrestling band in me. That's real. That's so real. Your question about. Oh, yeah.

1:11:58Which is funny. I went back and looked, right? You're 21. I said, what was 21 years ago at Mania? It was WrestleMania 21 from here. my first man in Hollywood and the very first money in the bank ladder match so now 21 years later you get to do it's not money in the bank there's still a title involved you the champion Penta JD McDonough Dragon Lee Rusev and the great legend Ray Mysterio what do each of these men bring to the table and what do you have to do to get through them to make sure you climb the ladder to success escalator style as biggie once said and snatch that belt and become the champion honestly i feel like of course they bring they all bring different like skill sets different moves all that which like that's the common common cool answer but i feel like for me they bring different years of experience to the table.

1:13:10You know what I mean? That's true. Not even ladder match experience, but just in general. You feel me? I feel like I do have to watch my back at some point in the match. Of course, me dragging pencil real cool right now, but when that bell rings, we're all opponents.

1:13:35O'Shea:Yeah. You feel me? And we got a title on the line. So like, it's cool right now. And even when Ray came out and he announced it, I was excited. Of course I am because I'm about to face Ray Mysterio. But now, if we, you know, I can't hide my facial expressions. So, in my head, I'm like, okay, that's great. But now, you're my opponent yeah you feel me so yeah yeah yeah so so now it's it's I feel like I of course I have something to prove like it's my first mania you know but also this is a very like serious fun but serious match for me you know and I'm here to make history dog exactly cause I I gotta admit like when Ray came out everyone else was like kind of happy and glad handing each other and I looked at you you didn't necessarily have a smile on your face right off the bat.

1:14:37It kind of looked like you were like, huh, there's another person standing in my way. Okay, cool, Ray. But it wasn't like you were all happy and like, oh, we got Ray Mysterio. You were like, nah, man, this is another dude. I'm going to have to step over to do this. So yeah, I liked that. I did particularly notice that you kind of got a little serious look for a minute on your face. That's somebody else that I have to, like you said, if I step over that somebody else I got worried about trying to, you know, get in the way of one of my goals.

1:15:07O'Shea:Yeah, man, when your opponents go from four to five right in front of you, you know, it's like, oh, okay. That's a whole, adding another superstar to any match, it's a whole another mindset, you know, and Rey Mysterio, no matter what match he's in, he's always got to be a dark horse. He's got to be somebody you watch. JD McDonough, like, you telling me Dom not in his ear, hey, you gotta go get that. That deadbeat. And also, Dom, this is my boy, I don't care, hater. And he might not, you know, he might not like that there's an Intercontinental Championship match going down. There's a lot of things that you gotta watch, that you gotta pay attention to if you're in a position like Javon Evans and Rey Mysterio just adds another, you know, another kindling to that fire.

1:15:54O'Shea:No doubt. Yep, so do. Now, as you're, you know, older, black friends. All I'm going to say is be careful. Please, man. You are such the kid. God, we might I can't say what I want to say. Are we talking real life right here or wrestling? Both, bro. I just want to be like, I know my man's excited, but I'm a fan. This is my brother right here. Please be careful, man. Be there for that raw after mania please I'm gonna go even deeper than that since we are like uncles talking to the youngins even beyond well I'll say uncle because I see where you are now and I see where you're going man and it's just like don't let nobody stop your ascension bro I know there's gonna be outside forces you know and you know this is none of my business you might be like TJ shut up but like use that Uber We see what happened to Tiger Woods.

1:17:02And I'm being very serious. Yeah, yeah. I don't know if you're just every little thing because we're just going to say it. You ain't going to get the same amount of chances as some people do if something F's up, right? And this is just old brother advice. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Just, you know, just keeping it real with you, man. Like, you know where you're at. You know the position you're in. And you know that there probably are people out there who probably might not want you to succeed because of who you are. man so just just all of that dog the world is just so open for you this wrestling world is so open for you just you know i i remember talking to john jones once and i was like the biggest thing i've learned because i have friends here in town like you do who are actors who are celebrities and famous it's all about your crew like watch who you keep around with you know because they're they're a reflection of you i knew when in hollywood when i was getting in the clubs when i I was skipping lines that had 150 people in it.

1:18:00I knew it was because of who my boys were, right? And so I was sort of to conduct myself in a way to know that, like, I kind of represent them. Because I didn't want my boys getting a call. Like, yeah, your man TJ was up here cutting up, and we know that you're me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, so just like, you know, this is just advice that I would give a young actor, athlete, musician. You know, watch your crew. Make sure, you know, the people around you are around you for the right reasons. and make sure that they're always elevating you and not trying to hold you down. Jealousy is an MF-er.

1:18:31Yeah, for sure. There's going to be a lot of jealous cats out there. And if you leave your drink somewhere, get another one. Get a new one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, I mean, I know this might not be the thing we typically talk about on this wrestling pod, but when I see a young brother like yourself, these are just lessons that I've learned from being in Hollywood here for 25, 26 years. These are lessons that he's learned from day one in his life. So, you know, if I could pass, we could pass some of that on, man, to make sure that you're able to, you know, kind of avoid some of these pitfalls and things that I've seen take cats down.

1:19:06And I feel it would be neglectful for us not to. And I'm sure you probably have people in your area telling you these same things. You don't get this far without them. Yeah. You know, but if not, you've got us telling you these things. You already know. I'm an open book. So whatever you Whatever you see bro You already know you can hit me bro Oh Shane texted me the other day bro You feel me I was doing something so I couldn't answer back bro But yeah bro Whenever y 'all see something Y 'all can hit me Put me on the game bro I'm just trying to learn Trying to be the best bro Even outside of the ring bro Like you said Real life situation stuff I'm down bro the more money more problems stuff is starting to come whatever you're making now G this is going to be the brokest you're going to be for the next probably 12, 13 15 years I appreciate that for sure and that's just some life advice for us at No Contest Wrestling see we a family show

1:20:13O'Shea:when we might be on different platforms but We are on Disney Plus now, so we have to act according to you. Yeah, you know, Mickey, we cool. Mickey, man. But also, you know, nobody else take that advice. That advice was from me. Nobody else. You feel me? Don't be like, oh, I heard something from O'Shea and T. No, that was from me. Yeah, man. I mean, y 'all just listening. You did. You know what I mean? You eavesdropping in our comments. Don't let my advice speak to you. They wasn't talking to you, man. Man, Javon, bro, it's always a pleasure to talk to you. Excuse me, partner. Do you have anything else?

1:20:55I mean, look, man, we've taken up enough of this brother's time. I'm sure he's got some type of training to go do. He's got to get his mind right. He's got to stretch. In a few days, he's going to have the biggest match of his career, man, under the big lights. Like I'm going to tell people on ESPN that aren't familiar, this is, you know the NFL, right? They got the Super Bowl. You know baseball? They got the World Series. You know NBA? They got the NBA Finals. Hockey, the NBA Final. See, that singular. Yeah. Finals, final. A lot of people don't know that. I work on... They don't know. You be reading?

1:21:25You see the glasses? I'm a TV sports personality. I gotta know this stuff. But for many people... Big tuna. This is WrestleMania. If you don't know, this is the WWE Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Final, World Cup, all those things. The granddaddy of them all. The granddaddy. So, yeah, man. I'm excited for you, G.

1:21:43O'Shea:Yeah, man. Can't wait to see you walk down that ramp. Fickle! Would love to be in attendance, Mickey Mouse. We got to get our tickets somehow. We'd love to see you go down that ramp, man. I ain't trying to watch this on closed circuit. Yeah, bro, exactly. Now it's going to be available on ESPN. You see that plug, TJ? You see that plug? You see me? Come on! That's why we like to call ourselves ESPNCW. Come on, now holler at your boy. Javon Evans, bro. Yo. Always got a key here. I ain't gonna count. You like that? That's what we do. That's what we do. Always welcome here, man. You are a dog. We love to see all of your success.

1:22:26O'Shea:We will be there. And yeah, I'll probably be online going at people on Twitter. That's his thing. Yeah, I love that. I mean, I've been watching you. You know, I ain't saying that. I was going to talk to you in person. Yeah, we going hard, bro. Hey, hey, hey. We good, bro. We good. You know, just make sure, man. All right. I started getting back in my old ways. But thank you for your time, bro. You're welcome here. Ladies and gentlemen, Javon Evans. The next intercontinental champion of the world. Talk to him. We really appreciate you, Tom, bro. Much love, bro. Always, man. Man, Javon, dude. Future's bright, right?

1:23:04O'Shea:Exactly, man. Exactly. And him knowing not to just be, you know, following somebody else. somebody else's path, smart move. You know, it's something that I, when I started my acting career, there was a part of me that was like, are they just going to give me roles that like, oh, Cube's a little too old for this one, so let's just give it to him. Like, you know, I didn't want that. And I made it a purpose to have that every film that I did is different from the last, just so they couldn't put me in a box. but it's also you got to set where you're going to make your money at, you know? And that dude is on a great path at this age doing what he's doing.

1:23:53O'Shea:What you brought up about how talk to those legends, it's great advice that I hope he heeds to. Yeah, I mean, you know, I say that quickly because I remember Chris Berman came on the show, The Eyes and Show, and I remember when I first started on the show, I was literally trying to figure out my voice. and when I say my voice I was like do I want to get on the mic and be like hi this is TJ here and you're watching you know NCW wrestling on the rich eyes or do I just want to be myself and Berman said something that stuck with me of course he's a legend in the game he was like always be yourself it goes because people will recognize if you're not being real yeah they'll see it and I was like yeah and you know friend of the show always but we we also got some other friends of the show.

1:24:37Oh, man.

1:24:37O'Shea:You know, Stephanie Viqueira, friend of the show. Liv Morgan, friend of the show. Roxanne, still got the record for spots as a female guest on here. And boy, oh boy, has there been a clash of heads. Yeah, I mean, you've been saying and we've been saying that like this feud feels personal. Yeah. Everything they do feels like they're really going for it. And what happened Monday, man. Yeah. Have you ever heard a, I don't know, a watermelon drop from a roof and hear how that sounds? No, no, no. I haven't either, but I would have to assume it sounds like a thud. Yeah, yeah. And that pretty much replicates, duplicates.

1:25:21Shut up, Stone Cold. Just like the sound I heard on Monday when Liv and Roxanne are in the clubhouse having a little talk about, Liv's like, yo, I know Finn brought you in. Yeah. we had to let him go. We had to kick him out. And it's just when Roxanne interesting enough was kind of giving her side or how she felt Hurricane the care came rolling through. And when I tell you that Stephanie hit live so hard from her blind side from the back the sound that Stephanie and Roxanne's head made I literally had to pause Netflix and rewind it because I was like, oh my goodness. Yeah,

1:26:07O'Shea:was that skull on skull of her? It sounded awful. Take a look at Liv, man. Take a look. Look at the lump on her head, man. I'm glad that Raquel and JD and Dom are okay with it. Yeah. It seems like Liv has something on her mind. Yeah, that's what they call hematoma. Yeah. I mean. You seem to be thinking about a lot. You want to get that? Yeah. We're going to have to start calling her the head detective. And then you got poor Roxy. Oh my God. Not Wyant's mom. If you watch this show, you know how much we love Roxanne. And this is one time I think I can speak for the both of us. We love Roxanne. Yeah.

1:26:44So I instantly, when she went down, I was really concerned because as I - You just came back. It looked like Liv's head hit her in maybe under her eye or something. And then the way she flew, went down. Yeah, and stayed. And then Liv gets her tossed through a TV, too.

1:27:03O'Shea:And it didn't look like she was prepared. You know, the hands weren't all the way up. She had to go through a bunch of stars at the time, you know? And then I was like, don't let this TV, because the TV starts wobbling. Yeah. And I was like, if this TV falls, please, Stephanie, you got to catch this thing. Yeah, right. We got to cut. Because obviously it was pre-taped, I think. But yeah, so it was, man. We hope for a speedy recovery. We knew things were personal between Liv and Stephanie. But, man, this just took it up a notch. You're ruining the moneymaker. For as much as everyone, as we said at the beginning, people are complaining about this, that, and the third about buildups.

1:27:46There's two buildups that haven't failed. One is this one, and two is Oba and Brock. You can't tell me that you're not into these two matches the way. and then Stephanie's wrong for this but it's so right at the same time I mean look at this doll with a deflated head I saw this on Twitter and I had to respond with the Ryan Gosling kind of laughing gif because that I mean that is wasn't she even type to look that up smack you know but of course Liv ain't gonna let that slide she had a response I think the next day you wish you're gonna have to kill me and she used the word that we had to Oh, this blurred out.

1:28:26Yeah, we had to blur that out. But it's Spanish is the word, and it's not nice. But you can see now the swelling's going down a little bit. Now it's just bruised. Yeah. But yeah, apparently her and Roxanne were in concussion protocol. Just hope the best for them. Hope they're able to hope everything's fine, and especially because Liv's got a big match coming up. Hopefully she gets cleared and ready to go, because like I said, I'm heavily invested. I'm heavily invested anytime one of our NCW, ESPNCW friends and family are on a card. And I think I just did a quick count. I think there might be 11 people that we've interviewed who are in action one of the two days.

1:29:08So it's pretty cool to see. Is that for real? It might be even more. I think it's 11. But yeah, man. So that's definitely one of the ones that I'm most looking forward to seeing.
