0:35O'Shea:ladies and gentlemen welcome to another Wednesday episode of the no contest wrestling podcast I am the heel that you love to hate O'Shea Jackson Jr. a.k.a. Petty Guerrero oh yeah TJ not here I'm sorry y 'all he's not here right now but he will be you see he works for another show the rich eisen show i'm tj i got two jobs like we you know we don't care dude but he's doing something for the rich eisen show he will be in shortly because we got an interview to do today we're giving you guys a guest and it's a familiar guest trick williams will be joining the no contest wrestling podcast claps all around claps all around always exciting to talk to trick and we haven't talked to him since episode 10 of the of the pod so it'll be great to kind of see where he is in life right now we know that he has a new fiancee out here beating people up as she should um the the trip to tna where he was running things over there a lot has gone on so it won't be necessarily the review show that you guys are probably been waiting for there's a lot to talk about and we will get to it eventually tna's got its new deal over at AMC.

1:52O'Shea:We got Oba and Javon and Trick and everybody's making noise. We got Rumble coming up. We know it's chaotic. We just need today to just be about the guests. But since it is just me, I would like to address some things. You know how I am. Controversial, but lovable at the same time. A lot of people might have noticed online that I posted me at a certain facility over this last weekend. Your boy went to the WWE headquarters. For our radio listeners, they're showing pictures of the facility right now. They welcomed me with open arms. Big, giant sign with my name on it. I am extremely nervous the entire time.

2:42O'Shea:Alright? There's a picture of me in the Undertaker's throne Forgot he had a throne altogether, but I was in it. I flew to New York. From New York, I drove to Connecticut. I drove to a building with a giant WWE title on the outside of it and some of the biggest W's I'd ever seen in my life. From there, I saw my name on the side of a building, which is just cool every time. And I can't get into full detail, But don't worry. That message that I said I will always give y 'all when it happens has not happened yet. Your boy is no contest through and through. I have not signed with the WWE. But what I will say is there are going to be some positive changes happening for no contest that I hope to put into effect that will help us not only in our circles with WWE and getting information from them and stars for you guys to be able to talk to, but maybe some extra things over at ESPN as well.

3:58O'Shea:We appreciate every single one of you because it's you guys that put our show on notice, whether that be the crazy comment section, all the pages that retweet clips from the show. You guys are what helps us get noticed by people like the WWE and other promotions that have showed us love. But I just wanted to put a little bit of wonder, a little bit of wonder in you guys' ear. what could that lunatic have done at the WWE headquarters? You'll find out soon enough, I promise. But, you know, I got to make sure you watch next week, man. You know how wrestling is. But I know you're tired of hearing me yap.

4:45O'Shea:Or if you're not, you can just rewind it. But I know you're tired of hearing me yap. How about we get to this interview with SmackDown's Trick Williams? we're a fairly new pod so it's a bit of a rare occurrence when we get repeat offenders around here on the no contest wrestling podcast we do we got yeah i mean we got we got a family member back around here that's why i'd like to look at it right absolutely we got we got to talk about you know this journey that he's been on the journey that we've been on that uh to land in this spot ladies and gentlemen welcome back to the no contest wrestling podcast trick will you Trick Willie, yes, sir.

5:25Yo, O'Shea, TJ, let's talk about it. What's up, baby? Hey, man, happy to be here, brother. You back in America? I'm back in America. Hey, until tomorrow morning. Then I'm going again. What? Where are you off to tomorrow? Man, I'm in Montreal. Okay, well, that's still North America. That's not bad. That's not bad. That's not bad. We ain't got to cross an ocean or anything to get there. Nah, not this time. And you know what?

5:48O'Shea:It's SmackDown's Trick Williams, man. Yes, sir. SmackDown's Trick Williams. Now, when we talked to him, TJ, what did you say? It was episode 10? Episode 10, that was December the 4th, 2024, the first time we got to chop it up with Trick Willie. Yeah, now we... That's pretty early on. That's pretty early on. Yeah, yeah. For both of us. Exactly. Yeah, we about to hit 70. I knew greatness was coming for all of us. Yeah, exactly. You know what I mean? I can feel it. That's right. So we've had quite some time in between these visits. And in that time, a lot has happened for you, and we're going to get to that.

6:21O'Shea:But like I said, you are now SmackDown's Trick Williams. So talk to us about what the process is of getting called up from NXT and, of course, how you felt. Man, it's about time. You can't cook your grits too long, you know what I'm saying? That's true. That's true. I was excited, man. I knew like I worked very hard and of course I know it's very competitive on Raw's roster and SmackDown's roster, but I felt like I fit like a glove, man. I just knew I was ready for the moment and I wanted the world to see me. So, um, I was excited, man. I just couldn't wait. And now we hit. Now, is it like a, is it just an email?

7:10O'Shea:Do you get pulled into a room? Like, Hey, all right, it's time. Like, you know, and then what's the saying goodbye to NXT? How does that feel? Man, you get a text message from a random number. Congratulations, you are needed for creative. That's how close? So I was like, man, I hope it's real. Yeah. You know what I mean? But yeah, you get a text message and then you get notified through an app that, hey, this is how we're going to get you to the destination. And then you're off to the races. Wow. So as you're reading that text, brother, what's going through your head, your heart, everything? Man, you know, like I say, man, it's about time.

7:54You know what I mean? The grit's been on the pot for, you know what I mean, for a minute now. He was holding down a whole other brand for a while. Holding down other brands. I was looking for the next brand I could take over.

8:10Hey, man, any other brands that need some ratings, let me know. I'll find you. Absolutely. That's how you sell it right there. So, Trick, you know, we did. We touched upon a lot of stuff with you when we first talked to you. But some of the things we didn't get to talk about, it was something that I meant to ask you about, you know, when we first chopped it up. When the whole WWE thing started, you put a tape together of your football highlights to try to get into the XFL. Is this true? Yes, this is true. when I got cut by your former Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Here you go, cowboy.

8:50Well, I'm saying I didn't already like them, and then they cut my boy Trick Willie, so that gives me more reason not to like Trick Willie. But they did give me a shot. So anyhow, I got released by Philadelphia Eagles. And yeah, I was trying to figure out what was next for me. So I was sending my film out to go to different teams, and nothing happened. Then so what happened was I had an agent at the time and he said, we'll send your information to the XFL. Now at the time, the XFL was closely affiliated with somebody who was working with the WWE. And all I know was one day I'm filling out this questionnaire for the XFL.

9:26The next day I got an email from WWE saying, hey, we've seen your profile. And if you're interested, we'd like to have you in for a tryout. I'm thinking, is this real? You know what I mean? But like at the same time, like I was very interested. Like I never knew how to get into the business. You know, it was so secretive. You know, I didn't know anybody who was successful, you know, a successful professional wrestler. So I'm thinking to myself, like, hey, this is real. Then, you know, maybe I should give it a shot. And, you know, in my mind, I'm still kind of a football player. I played for 20 years.

10:02So, you know, I went to the trial and I loved it. I loved it. I knew this is exactly where I was supposed to be, man. Like my whole life, I've always been an athlete. I always loved wrestling. You know, matter of fact, I said my first cuss word at three years old to open a can of whoopee, you know, watching Stone Cold Steve Austin. So when I got to that tryout, man, I'm cutting a promo of a lifetime. You know what I mean? Straight Attitude Era style. You know what I mean? Just like my favorites back in the day. But the game has changed. So they said, Mr. Trick, this is a PG product now. You know, we don't talk like that no more.

10:40So, Trey, real quick, let me ask you. Do you remember any of that promo? I remember some of it. I remember some of it. Can you hit me with it? You know, ironically, TJ, like, so it's the first promo I ever wrote. And I actually said some of it when I went to SmackDown. Oh, okay. So it started off, you know, reporting to you live, the sexiest and most entertaining superstar live, Trick Williams has finally arrived. But at the time, I was actually Sweet Daddy tricked. Sweet Daddy, yeah. I said, the one with 3 % body fat and the one that can snatch your woman's heart. Just like that. And speaking of women, Sweet Daddy has two women himself.

11:17One named Mercedes and one named Lexus. Lexus, the one that drives the Mercedes. Mercedes, the one that drives the Lexus. And Sweet Daddy gets them confused from time to time. I see a bunch of bums around here. Breasts around like 10 pounds to bounce that ass. but let me tell you something that I just start going in.

11:40Sweet daddy trick. He was a whole and he was a problem. He was a problem. You created that character, right? Because your uncle he had something to do with you coming up with sweet daddy trick, right? Yeah, man. My uncle, man all the men in my family, man they some OG pimp you know, black exploitation in real life. You know what I mean? Black dynamite type. Dynamite. You know what I'm saying? For sure you're right on. You know what I mean? Right on. That's for sure right on. My uncle, Sweet Baby James. You know what I mean? We did the whole video with him in that build to stand and deliver in Philadelphia because I stayed with him in Philly when I actually started wrestling.

12:29I moved up to Philadelphia with him and he was so cool, man. He had them shoes I talk about them lemon pepper steppers them hush puppies. I mean he showed me his closet full of Stacey Adams You know I mean he have all different colors and he makes sure all of them clean not a speck of dust on none of them And man my pops like my pops is a cool dude, man Like he got cigars. He talked to you real cool real slow

12:57You know son I I like what you're doing over there. I like what you're doing over there. You know what I mean? What you say there, boy. What you say there, boy. Let me learn you something, man. Let me, you know, all of that. Like, that's just how my family moves. So, like, that's what I've always seen. And I was like, man, I can't wait till I can just say some cool stuff. You know what I mean? You know, I just want to be cool and say something that people ain't used to hearing. So, all these things are always in my brain. But, like, you know, I play football. You know, when you get the opportunity to let your light shine like this.

13:31O'Shea:So that's how Sweet Daddy Trick was made. Sweet Daddy Trick. Lord knows, whenever I watch a game, you know, they got situations where you can hear what the players are saying. But you ain't hearing everything that they're saying, so I can imagine the type of trash talk that's happening down there. Yeah, it's the culture. You know what I'm saying? Like, man, we talk trash. It's funny. When you watch the Cowboys play, because the Cowboys, they always, you know, losing, and they're always angry and upset during the game. Right. But, you know, after every play, you see somebody about to fight, someone talking trash, then they line up the very next play and see the same person again.

14:05Then they talk trash again. You know, 60 snaps a game. It's the culture. You got to learn how to talk your trash, you know what I mean, and be about your business. That's promo building, right? A different number that texted you, though, right? It wasn't the same. You couldn't possibly remember that first number. That first number, that first random text. I don't know, man. I would have screenshotted that joint myself. There's so many people that work here, man. You're just like, all right, this is another one. Let me lock it in as mysterious WWE number. You know what I'm saying? Exactly.

14:41O'Shea:Now, you have made the move, but before you made the move up to the main roster, you got a piece of hardware that was history making yep you know we were backstage at an event tna back in the day and we just happened to run into you and uh tj i like i like it better when you tell the story well you know we were backstage in gorilla and we see you and we're chopping it up it was the first time we met we met him earlier yeah we met him at wwe world right I believe so. Yeah. So, you know, we're back there chopping it up. And, you know, when you're in a big studio or something like that, it's usually cold.

15:21They keep these buildings cold. So at one point, you're standing right next to me, and it's dark back there. And we're watching a match. And you go, boy, I'm cold. And I had a hoodie. I'm like, yeah, I feel you. And I turned and looked. I'm like, Trick, you ain't got no shirt on. And you're like, yeah, I know. I'm like, well, bro, why? Yeah, it's bad math. It's cold. Why don't you go? you're like nah nah nah I don't like wearing shirts right and you was back there for like three hours standing just cold for no reason and I don't know why I think about that all the time and then I go yeah but if I had eight abs I wouldn't wear a shirt either

16:00O'Shea:so you back there and you know not putting it together next thing we know you running out on Joe Injury oh he was in gear Right? Because the whole time we're thinking, all right, well, Lash is here. Yeah. So you're doing it. And we'll get to her later. But I'm like, oh, he's just supporting his lady. He's back here. It's cool. Like two, three hours, like I said, we're chilling. Yeah. And then the next thing I know, you know, we all go to catering together. We're kicking it. We're meeting all the other TNA cats. And then I see you over, like, in a corner. And I see you doing, like, you're stretching.

16:34Yep. Doing that shit. So you're stretching, you know, and I'm like, you got leather pants on. So I know that the joints is tight. and I see you stretching and I'm like, and then I went, oh, oh, okay. This is here. This is why he's here. I know I told Shay, I felt so stupid. Like, why did we not pick up on the fact?

16:53O'Shea:We were just happy to be there.

16:57O'Shea:And so that right there, that moment led to you becoming TNA champion. Tricking A world champion. Yeah, Tricking A world champion and what a run by the way you really look like you was having fun out there because it was you as a real villain you walked in their house took their most prized possession and they had to see you with it every week like that is walk in your trap take over your trap yeah man take over your trap that's villain go talk to us about number one the process of finding out that you You were chosen to do this, this historic thing, being a WWE superstar, taking the TNA goal.

17:43O'Shea:And what was that like walking around there with a property? Well, first thing first, I mean, the story was spot on. You know, I was backstage simply there to support, you know, the infamous legend herself, Lash Legend. You know, I'm a supportive, you know, I'm a supportive man. You know, I look out for minds. And then that's why I was there. Then I saw an opportunity, a direct line at the average Joe holding the belt. I said, you'll know what to do with that thing. Average Joe. So I said, let me go take that up off you. You know what I'm saying? So I seized the opportunity and made it about myself.

18:24But no, I was there to support my lady. Oh, so did you. Yeah, okay. That makes sense. That's assault. Exactly what it was. We might have to cut this part of the plot out, man. That's the song, bro. It was a straight line. You saw it? It was a straight line. I'm like, right to the ring. I'm like, dang. It truly was. It didn't even hop the gate. I remember when we figured it out, I grabbed my phone and I started recording them.

18:48O'Shea:Yeah. So I have him waiting behind the curtain and then curtains up, runs in the ring. Bam, bam, bam. Next to you, no trick really standing tall and everybody else is out. The crazy thing is, it was exactly 40 yards away. I said, I wonder if I could still run this 4.52. So I tested it out, and I ran a 4.45. In boots, nonetheless. In the lemon peppers. It comes a hot step up. We spoke to Mike Santana, a friend of the show, Mike Santana. And we brought up him. We brought up the fact that you had the title. and then Kalani Jordan came in she grabbed that title and so it was getting a little thin around there and so we asked him if what was kind of the talks backstage and was anybody cracking any jokes?

19:44O'Shea:And he said no, definitely nobody wasn't cracking any jokes. So could you feel any of that tension and looks over there when you was walking around with that gold? Oh yeah, they hated me man. They hated me every second. I mean, I get it. I understand it. You know what I mean? A good, young-looking, dark brother like myself coming in their brand and, you know, taking their title, you know what I mean? Cutting diss tracks on them. Right. It wasn't nothing to like about me. You know what I'm saying? So I get it, but, you know, sometimes that's what's best for business. And, you know what I mean? The real ones understood what was best for business.

20:21Shout out to Top Dollar. I mean, excuse me, AJ Franchise. He understood, like, hey, we can go somewhere with this movement. You know what I'm saying? So he's probably the only one who understood ball. So, I mean, I don't want to, even though I just talked about you pulling the curtain back, I don't want to pull it too far. What do I care? It's unreals out there pulling the curtain back. Why am I going to try to? Are you legit saying there were, like, people legit upset? Or is this just like, yeah, they were, I mean. Man, nobody like Trick Willie over there. Nah, I mean, you got to look at what it is, man.

20:55Man, I come into the game, been doing this four years at this point, three and a half, maybe three on television. And you tell me this is the guy who's going to carry the brand to the next level. Get him a TV deal with AMC. This is the guy who's going to break a tennis record not once but twice. He's the one that's going to be our world champion, Trick Williams. He don't deserve this. He ain't been in the game long enough. He doesn't know what I know. No, nobody was happy about that. And I understand it. I mean, but, you know, favor ain't fair. So it ain't my fault to, I don't concern myself with that.

21:33Like Mr. Cool said, it ain't my fault. It ain't my fault. Did I do that? Yeah. Want to earn extra income for your business? 22:41O'Shea:Now, what's the feeling? What's the feeling? Going over there, European crowds, the electricity is in the air. When they want to get rowdy, they get rowdy over there. Speak to us a little bit about how you feel differently when you see people that don't have a chance to see you all the time, when you go over to do them European dates. And you weren't just over there in the ring with just anybody. You were toe-to-toe with the Viper. The Viper. Speak to us about those moments, if you will. Man, I smacked that microphone so hard. There you go. Question. Yeah, ask him. Because we all want to know.

23:24What was that look, bro? Did you hit somebody? Where did that microphone go? Because you hit the mic out of Randy Orton. If you haven't seen it, you and Randy Orton going back and forth. You smacked the mic out of his hand and it flies. and then you can see you kind of looked at Randy and then Randy just stood there. So did somebody get clocked with the mic? It was the look of like, oh. Did they? Oh my goodness. So, you know, I mean, all I know was, look, I smacked the microphone because I meant it. And you could feel the trajectory of the microphone, this beam line, right, you know, towards all these people.

24:02Now you got to mind your, NXT, we don't have fans on that side. So I never had to think about that. Yo, somebody said that on Twitter. They were like, Trick's not used to having people. Oh, whoa. So I'm like, oh, man, I should have thought about that. Maybe I should have smacked it down. You know, I smacked it and it went up a little bit. I just see people parting like the Red Sea. You know what I mean? Everybody cleared out the way. But from what I heard, nobody got hit. But that's what I'm hoping the case is. Nobody got hit, man. And shout out. Because I tried to apologize in German, but they didn't understand what I was saying.

24:37hey you tried though you don't know how much you don't know his strength right you don't know his strength like you said if you ain't used to people sitting there you know and you don't have anyone

24:46O'Shea:in the hard cam side so it was one of my favorite moments yeah just i mean as soon as your your music hit oh you know just that my boy you know they're like my boy i think i said this to you before we started, man, like, when that music hit, bro, and those people turned it up to a, you know, if it goes up to a 10, they turned it up to a 20. And when the crowd's chanting, bro, like, I was ready to smack somebody, and that wasn't even my music, but it was just because of the way we feel about you, and I'm like, yes. You hear that? And I asked that a lot of people, man, because there's very few people on earth who like get that you're an actor right so you don't get that feeling because that what you do today might not come out for nine months right so you don't get that instant gratification musicians you know athletes to a point yeah we'll get that wrestlers especially when you do when you know you've got men out there who can simply lift an eyebrow and have everybody lose their mind what is going through your body bro when you're in gorilla your music hits and they're just losing their they're losing it i mean i'm gonna be honest with you tj that's why i wanted to be in this business like you know when i was making that transition from football to wrestling like i went straight back to the era that i used to watch the most and that was the attitude era and when i watched stone cold when i watched the rock booker t like man like man the rock had some skills that can literally you know control the crowd in the palm of his hands and i watched those promos and i studied those promos like man like that has to be the greatest feeling in the world and i said man i want i want to feel that i want to know what that feels like you know i mean i'm not going to bite his stuff that's not what it's about but I want to know what it's like to entertain people in such a way with presence and aura and, you know, just controlling the room that you just feel like you can do anything.

26:55So, I mean, exactly what you're talking about is exactly why I'm here. This is what I wanted all alone. I knew I could see it, you know, seven years ago. This is what I wanted. And now we here. That's your son.

27:06O'Shea:Now, during the John Cena farewell tour, Obafemi was kind of put on a lot of people's notice. You would see on Twitter and things like that, people say, you know, who is this? Who is this guy? And that same thing was happening when they saw you take over an entire crowd overseas, by the way. You know, it's not just you're not doing it. They could have just had a show in Carolina and you could have killed. But, you know, you're over there overseas, and you still got them singing a song. And so it makes those of us that watch you in NXT have the biggest, I told y 'all. You know, I told y 'all. Y 'all need to be paying attention to what's going on in this CW, man.

27:59O'Shea:So for all your NXT people who have been riding with you for this long, Can you give me three things from NXT that you'll miss? Yeah. Well, man, can I break it down to moments? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Absolutely. So, man, number one, I got to go, you know, my whole interaction with Lash Legend. You know, I had just won the NXT gold, and all of a sudden she went to pop on TV with your boy. I simply told her you know you see all this gold on my waist and you want a taste don't you you know you want to take the gold off and get to the chocolate on the inside

28:54tell the people you call me Trick Willie Wonka you know

29:00that right there was like hey man you cutting up you cutting up on people's TV screens man that's one of my favorite moments right there I gotta say strong number two strong number two is the Iron Survivor match period that was so amazing that match right there I lie to you not I'm definitely biased I ain't gonna lie I'm definitely biased but as far as like organic organic just structure of how everything came into place you know i mean just the people who was involved in the match i'm talking about die jack josh briggs bron breaker tyler bait treat williams i'm talking about five ballers like five guys who single-handedly could have won that match and everybody would have been like i'm satisfied you know i mean all five of us you know hoopers and then the structure of the match period i believe sean michaels you know created this style of match and i just think it's genius because what happens is the strategy and there's a time limit which makes it feel like a sport it makes it feel like a game you know i mean like you got to beat the buzzer and that's what man that i feel that 100 like i played ball my whole life so just the way that match was structured was just like the most beautiful no thing as far as storytelling i think ever you know and i'm definitely biased but i'll put that match against anybody's favorite because that match is just the way the way it fell it was just perfect and uh let's see third i gotta say finally winning the title from ilia dragunov you know what I mean like I gotta pay my respects to the mad dragon because he's a guy who can just you know I mean make you feel he can take your game to the next level you know I see the comments like and they are not lying you're dragging off is that good he pulls something out of you that you don't even know that you're capable of and I remember one time Ilyas he kicked me in the face said protect yourself trick kick me again and my vision just turned off like tv screen in my right eye vision turned off i can't see he kicked me again my vision cut back on just like that i said i'm about to whoop your ass and i finally understood like oh this is where we're going, let's go.

31:44We get to another, we in another part of the match. He's chopping me. This is another match, but this is who Ilya Dragunov is. He's chopping me in the corner. He's chopping me, he's chopping me, he's chopping me. I'm selling down, you know, my chest hurting, bleeding, all type of stuff. And he missing, chopped me in the eye. And the fury that went through my bones at that moment. And I caught his arm and said, are you out your mind? You know what I mean? Had some other adjectives and verbs in there. And the look on his face was just like, oh, man. Oh, that's the face of me. He said, oh, we just fighting.

32:21We just fighting. We just fighting. And then I remember I said, I'm just going to inflict as much pain on him as possible. And I run and I hit him with a knee as hard as I could. And he hits a backward flip and he's bleeding out his forehead. I cover him. And the people, he kick out and the people go crazy. You know, he ends up winning the match or whatever. I said I can't wait to see him in the back I can't wait to see him in the back but you know that's the Mad Dragon that's who he is you over there with him now well wait real quick when you did see him in the back what went down TJ NeapT that's like Rocky Creed that's like Rocky Creed 3 nobody knows

33:08O'Shea:the tape cut off yeah the tape cut off exactly ding ding that's how you keep watching trick now uh you're over there with the mad dragon you're over over there with mellow too so what is that feeling like you know have you guys spoken at all and you know has there been any type of uh congratulatory text from mellow or anything like that are you guys sitting around like look at us yeah look at us I mean we cool it ain't beef you know it ain't love last time I seen him on screen you know we did a tag match together I think there's a mutual respect I mean shout out to Carmelo Hayes man I mean like he I mean he is that once in a generation type talent man like the things he does in the ring is you know amazing you know I mean I do think that we're very different in how we approach the game so like I feel like he deserves his flowers and you know I think I think He's a great talent, and I wish nothing but the best for Melo.

34:08But, yeah, we just, you know, we different, you know what I mean? He does his thing, I do mine. Well, I can't wait for that program. Oh, man. Just think about the video packages they're going to be able to put together with Trick Melo Gang when they finally lock up one day for the big gold belt, which is going to come eventually.

34:30O'Shea:You know money when you hear it. You know money when you see it. Yeah. And that's money right there. We're just excited Not to type the jingles It's to type the folds We're trying to make it rain not make it hail You know what I'm saying One thing that popped into my head real quick You get back to you with Lash And the Trick Willy Wonka thing I don't think you'll mind me telling you this But you know when we were chopping up backstage We were asking you about Lash And I don't know if you remember You said to me yeah man I went over one day and I didn't leave

35:08I was like what do you mean you just moved in and you were like yeah you know I didn't leave no it's nice man she cooks you know she got a whole cooking show yeah cooking show so so true story is man I won't get too much information but uh you can really thank my little brother my brother man I love my brother man like we like this like yeah you know me and my brother you know what I'm saying and he played college ball everything and you know he said hey you know you know Matt you know my government Matt he said man I'm coming over you know I mean you know I'm just in between things right now I'm gonna stay for a couple weeks um and he's like till I get back you know get back going I said cool no problem then he moved in and then you know is a perfect opportunity for me to slide over there.

36:04So, and then as I left mine to go over there, I'm like, man, it's nice over here. Smells good. Smells good. We got furniture. You know, oh, we got breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You know what I mean? Yeah. I didn't want to go back. So shout out to my brother. I'm like, man, you had this, you know, I'm gone. and don't nobody blame you yeah man easy decision one plus one equal two

36:35O'Shea:yeah he started leaving his shoes there I left my shoes my toothbrush is here I got my gear bag is over at the crib I'm gonna just stay but you know a good woman in your life man changes everything you know you start realizing like man I guess that would have been nice to have You know what I mean? And this too. And this too. And then you go back, you be like, nah, I can't move back here. It's over. My couch got a dip in it. I'm cozy. Cozy. You got a couch? I didn't have no couch, man. I had two chairs, you know, two lawn chairs over there. Sitting on a basket. Smart. Wise move, you trick, Willie.

37:19Wise move.

37:21O'Shea:You don't know what you don't got until you see it somewhere else, you know? and I don't, it's like you always see memes and stuff online like you know, a dude, I need like this much stuff to like really be happy. Oh, the memes where like you just see like a TV on a box in the empty room. The Playstation in a chair. Like this is all a man needs. Yeah, exactly, man. If I want something to eat I'll just leave. Right. But when you start to get that home cooking and it's just like, oh yeah Oh, yeah. You do put the room together. Right. We do need some plants. It changes everything. It changes everything.

38:00And then you want to make sure nobody else gets in there. So you're like, no, no, no. No, no, no. I leave my shoes. This is it right here. Yeah, man. Yeah, she got me, man. I chased her. I chased her for, man, a year or some change until she finally said yes. And then, yeah, that was an easy move right there. Once I got my foot in the door, you know what I mean? Shoot. I'm here now. Let some lemon pepper steppers get in there. You know what I'm saying? She tried to close it. I put my lemon pepper stepper right there between the trevins. What you doing, girl? I got something to say.

38:38O'Shea:Now, you know, she got some hardware, too, around the finger, man. So can you take us through what, going through your mind on that? You know, as a man, I'm a single black father, TJ. So I need to know the process of situations like this. How was the heart feeling? What was the game plan? And talk about the success. Man, I'm going to tell you exactly what's going through my mind. I'm taking all donations, WhatsApp, Cash App, started GoFundMe. Because that diamond right there, you know what I mean? Arm, leg, leg. Arm, leg. Good gracious. through my contract through the whole contract at a finger man good gracious but uh but uh nah man you know she just deserve it man like like like I said just having a good woman in your life man things just change you know what I mean like you can literally see like the evolution of Tritt Williams like man when I first started wrestling at NXT period I was probably 212 pounds you know what I mean soaking wet you know what I mean and the first thing she told me when we was like, okay, we're going to do this?

39:52I was like, yeah, we're going to do this. We locked in. She said, you need to put on 30 pounds. I was like, you talking to me? How you going to tell me what I need to do? Like, no, you ain't finna tell me. But I put on those 30 pounds. Because she's cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I ain't skipping no meals. You know what I mean? You're getting your carbs, your mashed potatoes, your macaroni. you eating all the things you need to eat and she literally you know that's a visual representation of how i've just grown since i've been with her like in all phases of my game like i ain't wasting time in those streets you know i mean trying to chase nothing that ain't for me you know i mean i'm locked in you know she support me man like that alone right there makes you feel like a brand new man in itself like it's cool to believe in yourself and uh you know that's very necessary I've always believed in myself.

40:47But you got a little extra insurance when your lady say, no, regardless, you and me, we good. And you move a little bit different. And, you know what I mean, you can pop off a little bit more because, shoot, my lady said we good. You know what I mean? So I'm going to be the king here regardless. So it don't really matter. So, you know, that's just a good feeling. Save money and get a better view of the road when you replace your worn-out wiper blades at O 'Reilly Auto Parts. 41:47O'Shea:so yeah she get what she want man like you know yeah no i i couldn't lebron james couldn't throw an alley-oop better than that that was boy you dunk that in bro that's what i'm talking about man that was a great answer man so trick let me ask you this like so the first night she goes out there with the ring on and she gets into a little scrap are you like oh would you take that off her like

42:13because we know that she had the ring

42:25O'Shea:oh no I know that ain't what I think it is I know you are it's like big boy I know that ain't who I think it is I know that ain't who I think it is and now I guess that brings up But backup question, did you ever think about getting a Fugazi, a dummy ring for her to wear on the road if she is in the ring? Did that ever cross your mind? Especially after that, I'd have been thinking, like, let me get a copy of this John May. I already told her, man. I don't want her to ever feel like, first thing first, Lash liked the fight. So, you know what I mean? So I'm going to go ahead and say that first. So I never want to put her in a situation where she feels like she needs to defend herself.

43:07because she already has no problem defending herself. You know what I mean? But you don't want your lady in no harm's way. And this is something I didn't think about because, hey, how you know till you know? So, yeah, man, we got, you know, Fugazi, insurance, all that. You know what I mean? It's like, hey, if something ever happens, you let that go. And, you know, because I need you to come back. We ain't worried about, you know, that it'll hurt, but it would be okay. it seems like you talking more real life I'm just talking more in the ring the prop one and the hero one I'm talking real life it is real life don't bring that ring out there to that ring and get your bell rung

43:57O'Shea:it's poetry I want to ask you we'll take it back a little bit to the first time A lot of people may have noticed you. It was in March 5th of 2021. You made an appearance with Apollo Crews as a member of the Elite Guard, which people picked up on later. Take us through that process of you getting the call like, hey, we're going to use you with Apollo and Commander Aziz back in the day. What was that all about? So first thing first, this is like my second week of even being employed, you know, in WWE. So, you know what I mean? Bro, I remember, boy, I didn't know which way the camera was. I didn't know nothing.

44:43Brand new, you know what I'm saying? Happy to be there. And they said, hey, we need you on SmackDown. You know what I mean? We looked at your ancestry roots, and we saw that you're 32.5 % Nigerian. You know what I mean? So you're going to come be a Nigerian bodyguard. All right, cool. You know what I mean? I meet Apollo. He's dope. and everybody Denzel Dejernet he was the other uh Nigerian guard and um that's the first time I met you know the all uh people in guerrilla at the time and that was a cool you know moment for me then um I think the next week we was coming to do it again and Apollo was hyped you know this is a new character for him and you know now the pressure's on and like at this point I know who apollo is like i don't want to mess this up for him you know i mean like he's getting this push and everything like that and then um i just remember like a couple days before we had this ring build at nht where everybody's together and we're building the rings you know for training and everything like that and somebody you know i'm saying must have had you know the covid or whatever the case was so uh so you know that wasn't good because that thing must have spread and I didn't know that you know I had COVID you know and I rolled down to Tampa with Denzel and he didn't know that he had COVID so we gotta get tested you know to enter the building because you know the protocol is serious so we both get tested we was riding down laughing joking eating food the whole ride down to Tampa and then And they said, actually, both of you tested positive for COVID.

46:28You are not needed for SmackDown. And they're like, as soon as they told me, my heart dropped. And I instantly had a cough in my throat.

46:35O'Shea:Yeah. I didn't know I had COVID, but as soon as you told me. That's that fear. It jumped on me as soon as they told me. Right. Surprise! Long story short, SmackDown was said, yeah, we're going ahead and lead them boys down at NXT. because we'll need you and your COVID up here messing up things, you know, for Apollo. So it was a short in and out thing, which it all worked out for the best. I mean, Apollo, you know, still got it going. And, you know, we went back down to NXT, which is where I needed to be and learn what was going on anyways. Yeah, it just prolonged the inevitable because now you make SmackDown every week.

47:17Every week, man. And with Lash being on SmackDown, I'm sure obviously that was your preference, but did you get a say in whether you went to Raw or SmackDown? No, no, no. I ain't getting no say. I mean, you know, they had the whole bidding war, you know, between Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce. Yeah, that was dope. I told him he'd throw me the most money, you know what I'm saying? And shoot, you know, Aldis threw the bag. So let's get it going. Yeah, Adam Pearce be tripping. I remember at one point I told you, though, I'm like, I've never seen Adam Pearce so smitten with somebody. You were like, call me.

47:48He goes, I'm going to save your number.

47:53he was so he was like yeah i like him he cool 1-800 whoop that i'm gonna give you a call but yeah man when you when you got there you got to go toe to toe on the mic with nick aldis with cody rhodes with randy with sammy you know they they trusted you enough to to let you go on there and do your thing with with these stars man that had to make you just feel like you know yeah yeah yeah no definitely i mean like shoot man i love you know watching them work you know i mean adam pierce man he puts his heart and soul every time he on tv man i think he's just phenomenal nick aldis too you know anytime we can get a little you know uh styles clash you know with the promo work and you know you know Nick Aldis, he got that accent, you know what I mean?

48:45Yeah. So, you know, I love, you know, working with somebody who's from somewhere else, you know, give you that rush hour feel, you know what I mean? I love that. So, you know, it was great working with both of them.

48:58O'Shea:That's what's up. All right, Trick, you got a future ahead of you. Anybody who's watched you, anybody who's seen you for a second can see that your future is bright for you. What are you excited for now that you're on the main roster? And there's a pretty special event coming up in, what, a week or so? The Royal Rumble. Even before that, we got Saturday night's main event coming up. Absolutely, absolutely as well. Where it's going to be our brother Trick Williams going against Randy Orton, against Damian Priest and Sami Zayn. And the winner will become the new number one contender to Drew McIntyre's.

49:42true that undisputed championship brother so right you know what what's going through your mind now because you were now you were being thrown into the mix right you didn't just get called up to to wrestle some jabroni curtain joker like you got you got three main eventers you got three future hall of famers in you brother so curtain jerker is crazy so you know what what's that like what's that feeling going and knowing that like Like, you know, by Sunday, if all goes well, the world, if they don't know your name, will know your name. No, for sure. I mean, you said it. I mean, we got the Royal Rumble coming up.

50:22But before that, we got the Saturday night main event. And the truth is, you know, if you win the Royal Rumble, you get the title shot. You get to choose. It's also true that if I win Saturday night main event, then I already have a title shot to become the heavyweight world champion of the world. You know, WWE. So, hey, I might not even be in the Rumble. You know what I mean? That's something. You know, somebody, they could be having that Rumble so they could face Tripp Williams. So, you know what I mean? Or you could win this fatal four-way, then go to the Rumble and win that. Calm down.

50:56O'Shea:I knew you was going to say some wild shit. I'm just saying that you get to Mania and you just chill because there ain't no change because you're already you versus you, you know? I mean, and that's what I said from the jump. I said, I'm here to win gold. I said that from the jump and I meant that. you know i mean and i'm standing 10 toes down on that man i'm not here to make friends smile no no we smile once we make it we ain't made it yet you know one thing i like to ask people and this is going in your pockets a little bit um you already talked about the ring and that was something beautiful and very expensive i'm sure but i always like to ask people man like when you when you get a little bump in the income right when you you know when the check is a little bit bigger than it used to be yeah what did you do for yourself brother like you know the parks and rec had a special episode called treat yourself where you just went out and you bought something you did something that's completely ridiculous and way too expensive but you did it what now the trick williams is you know making his way up and right now trick you're making the least amount of money you're going to make for the rest of your career because you know it's gonna go up and up coming up.

52:06But is there something special that you did for yourself, you know, now to kind of celebrate where you are right now? You can guess what I did. I mean, you can look at me and tell, man, I went and bought that mean coat. That brother came out in all white. He came out in all white. I said, oh, he got some money. That coat. That coat. I didn't know coats cost that much. I mean, that mean. I wanted chinchilla, but that's a whole other zero on the behind. Oh, yeah. Oh, no. We'll wait on the chancela, but that mink, you know, that's a big deal. So, yeah, man, shout out to the mink coats, man. Shout out to the mink coats.

52:46And I guess I got one more before you give your last one. In a perfect world, this is what you're doing, right? But let's just say you didn't get into wrestling, right? So let's just say January 21st, 2026, that's today. if trick Williams wasn't a main event superstar in WWE, what do you think you'd be doing with your life? Man, you know, that's a tough question. And I do think about it sometimes. Like, man, before, before I was wrestling, I was actually substitute teaching kids. Nice. I'm going to say this. Every teacher out there deserves more money. Yeah. Because those kids made me go wrestle.

53:26And I ain't talking trash about the youth. I mean, you know what I mean? But they know who they are. You know what I mean? It's probably them young kids, you know, by the name of Javon Evans. You know, them young kids now, them six, seven kids. Boy, them kids, boy, I'm trying to tell you, man, it was a lot, man. Like, it takes a special type of person to be a teacher, you know what I mean, to influence the future, you know, the future generations. but um you know that's what i was doing uh after i got cut by the eagles you know and bro it was it was a crazy you know change up for me but yeah man i think about all the time man i love i love to talk man like i might be doing some motivational speaking you know i mean i might be you know doing something like that you know i know someone i'd be doing something where you know what I mean you know making people feel feel something positive in their life you know hey man

54:31O'Shea:you take your job as serious as you do teaching and right now you are teaching the world the wrestling world what it is to do things trick Willie style you always always got a home here at NCW man it's so good to talk to you I'm sure we gonna see each other again down the road. It was one point we just kept running into you. But man, much success to you. Send our love, Lash's way. And thank you for being a guest on the No Contest Wrestling Podcast. And let the missus know that she got a spot here too whenever she wants to. Oh, and my mama and my sister are big fans. She was real nice to my sister at TNA, but my mama is a fan, bro.

55:16Hey man, that's dope, man. We got to get them to the show.

55:19O'Shea:Yeah, man. I've been trying for years. Appreciate you, dog. I think it goes without saying that we're huge fans of yours, brother. It's amazing. This new generation coming up with you and Javon and Oba, man, I'm excited. I'm excited, dog. Black! Sorry. Hey, man, it's a good time to be in the business. We excited, too, man. Go out there and make history. Let's go. Absolutely, man. February is coming. Yes, sir. Good luck this weekend, my brother. Have yourself a good one, man. I appreciate y 'all having me. Yes, sir. Man, Trigg Williams. What a guy, right, TJ?

56:03O'Shea:Damn. Yeah, that's a little movie magic for y 'all. TJ still not here, just like the Cowboys and the Clippers and the Sixers. Pretty much any team that he like. Can we vent for a second? like TJ like I love him you know oh by the way TJ I love you

56:25damn

56:26O'Shea:cold Tony anyway yeah the dude's from Altoona Pennsylvania hashtag big tuna and that's tuna with two O's by the way and I like the fish I found that out too but yeah the dude chose he's from Altoona Pennsylvania chose the cowboys I can give you that it's cowboys you know iconic Like, chose the Cowboys, chose the Clippers, chose the Mets, chose mediocrity. Like, it just baffles me. The dude is the embodiment of the road less traveled. Damn, damn, damn. But anyway, y 'all can't talk shit about my tag team partner. That's my tag team partner. But he's not here, so I can talk shit. I hope you guys are well in tune to where to find us because I don't know that whole speech that he be saying.

57:23O'Shea:I usually tune out. Hashtag Big Tuna. And, yeah, make sure you have a good day. But not too good. Because who the hell do you think you are? Bye, Ms. Parker. TJ, say bye, Ms. Parker.

O'Shea and TJ run it back with one of their favorite previous guests, WWE Smackdown's newest Superstar Trick Williams. Trick, the former TNA World Champion discusses what it was like walking into the TNA locker room as a member of NXT, how he captured the heart of his fiancé (fellow Smackdown Superstar Lash Legend), his 1st wrestling character "Sweet Daddy Trick", and going toe to toe with Randy Orton on the mic. Did that microphone actually hit someone in the stands? Trick also reveals what the biggest purchase he's made since he "made it" and more! Trick also discusses what it means to him to be part of the upcoming WWE Saturday Night's Main Event PLE from Montreal.
