1:22Rich Eisen:But bringing in Kyler Murray. What does it mean for J.J. McCarthy? Live from the Rich Eisen Show studio in Los Angeles. Unless they feel he's done. Anybody else who's coming in is going to have to beat out J.J. McCarthy. On today's show, up-to-the-minute NFL free agency updates, overreaction Monday, your phone calls, latest news, and more. And now, it's Rich Eisen. Hour number three of the Rich Eisen Show is on the air. 844-204-RICH, number to dial. So much going on in the world of free agency. Tua on the move. Looks like he's going to wind up in Atlanta by the end of the day. That's not yet been made official.
2:05Rich Eisen:Malik Willis is Tua's replacement in Miami. So Miami's the most aggressive on free agency Monday. The Ravens were the most aggressive leading into the weekend by flipping two firsts to Baltimore for Max Crosby. The Raiders are using all their cap space in a hurry. They went ahead and landed the biggest piece from the offensive line available. Tyler Lindebaum is going from Baltimore to Vegas to be the center for Fernando Mendoza. Lots going on with you at 844-204-RICH being the number to dial. Chris Brockman, I can tell. Are you getting twitchy over there? Is there something? Yeah, I'm getting twitchy.
2:43We got two breaking news. Okay, that's what it's all about. Go ahead and hit it. Hit it.
2:48Rich Eisen:Hit it. Hit it, please. Hit it, please. Here it comes. Boom! M-R-A-I-C. Breaking News. What do you got over there, Chris? Let's go running back first. We just mentioned him as one of the names to watch. Travis Etienne has a new home. The New Orleans Saints will be his new employer. Okay. Let me take it one at a time right here. Okay, do it. Before you go on to the next one. I know where you're going to start. Well, hold on a second. Travis Etienne going there again. They said he's from Louisiana, and so it's important for him to be closer to home, which is good for him. With a Florida Lee on the side of his helmet in the French quarter?
3:23Will he be known as Travis Steve?
3:29Rich Eisen:Wait, what? Etienne is French for Stephen. Did you never know that? I took French and I didn't know that. Dude, Etienne is Stephen in French. So Travis Stephen is coming home. I'll tell you this, man. I'll tell you what, man. So Kellen Moore's got a terrific player in his offense. Yeah. Okay. What does this mean for eighth overall, man? Well, it means they also, like the Chiefs, don't think Jeremiah Love is getting to them. You think so? Yeah. Because the teams at eight and nine, all the mock drafts going into the combine, saying that Jeremiah Love, there's no way he's getting past the Saints to get to the Chiefs.
4:12Rich Eisen:So all those mocks that had Jeremiah Love going to the Chiefs at nine, forget it. He's going to wind up at eight. and now both teams get in the free agent market and get running backs, which means I think everybody's knocking around doors and chitter-chatter about Jeremiah Love. He's not getting past the Commanders at seven. He's not getting past the Titans at four, who just signed Wondell Robinson. Okay. So Wondell Robinson winds up there. Four years,$70 million from Tennessee. So the Giants knew he wasn't going to stick around there, that he would be too rich for their blood, and they would have to supplement that somehow.
4:56Rich Eisen:But the way I'm taking the Travis ETN news is the Saints and the Chiefs today have gone into the free agent market in a considerable way for running backs, and you're not paying those guys at that position the amount of money that they're going to pay them only to draft a rookie who 1 million percent is going to be the engine of your running back offense. Period. End of story. And sometimes even the wide receiver market could get affected by somebody like him too because he's going to catch passes. So that's the way I'm taking that. Bit of news that Travis Etienne, Travis Steve, is coming to New Orleans to wear the Florida Lee on the side of the helmet.
5:40Rich Eisen:I'm all for it. And the Chiefs are taking the Super Bowl MVP and Kenneth Walker III at ninth. And Jeremiah Love coming off that combine that he went into with people thinking he's going to last all the way to the bottom of the first third of the first round. And that's not going to – this is the league saying that's not happening. Everybody saw what we saw. The Titans at four, which means that the Cardinals are sitting there at three. they just signed a running back themselves but they have been mocked taking alignment no i i understand that but the reason why i'm mentioning that is they just went ahead and signed tyler alger yeah all right at three so that's monty austin fort also saying hey everybody if you like this kid so much and you think the titans are going to take him at four we're open for business at three.
6:39Rich Eisen:Commanders at seven. Giants at five. Browns at six. Where is Jeremiah Love going to wind up now? And do the Cardinals just let him fall? Again, the team's third, eighth, and ninth overall just went into the free agent market at running back, which means they're not going to draft Jeremiah Love. He's not going to do that. That's just a bad roster building there. Now, I understand that you could sit there and go, wait a minute. Jeremiah Love's better than all of them. Why can't they split the rock? He's just a rookie. But you don't build from the running back position out in the NFL. You just don't.
7:19Rich Eisen:That just doesn't happen. So the Titans are sitting there at four. They get Wandale Robinson for Cam Ward to go along with the rest of the wide receiver room. I'm just wondering, is Wandale Robinson bald? mold did they just break the mold there great question that's just what coaches yeah is it what it is yeah yeah for players they don't care uh not ball okay unless they have like some yankees type rule rich where you're gonna come in training you got one with no hair you having a clean shape good one wonder robinson just turned 25 i'm wondering uh a fifth overall is now a carnell tate situation for the giants could be so pop it back up there so you're gonna to go Mendoza at one.
8:05Rich Eisen:Jets are going to be one of the defenders, right? It's going to be Reese, Bailey, or Stiles. Then the Cardinals are at three. Do they need Maui Noah that badly in their offensive line? Do they do that? Which means the Titans have a whole host of players there. And do they go Jeremiah Love there for Cam Ward? What a choice that would be to stick Cam Ward with Jeremiah Love and go to work in the AFC South that way? Now we're talking. Right? Now we're talking. Well, certainly with ETN leaving for the NFC South, wouldn't Cam Ward and Jeremiah Love automatically be the more dynamic quarterback running back position if Daniel Jones doesn't come back in the division?
8:54Right?
8:55Rich Eisen:In the division. Texans have C.J. Stroud along with their new running back room, right? I mean, it's an interesting choice. I like it. Because 8-9 just basically raised their hands and declared, we don't think he's getting down. Yeah, yeah. We're out. We can't get him. And they're not trading up to go get him. Right. Where I imagine it's going to get really expensive. what about the giants saying scadaboo who's apparently um he's booked on our wednesday show we're getting cam finally excellent uh we've been knocking on his door for some time um how about he's the knuckles to jeremiah loves sonic i love that too i don't like that personally because you want you want scadaboo getting it 25 times a game no i don't want i don't want the giants to have those two oh i see i'm just talking outside of all the way after the Giants just signed Isaiah Likely.
9:49I like that a lot. It does kind of make sense.
9:53Rich Eisen:Or do you add Tate to you add, hold on a second, you add Tate to Malik Neighbors along with Likely and Theo and Cam Scadaboo. And Tyrone Tracy. And Tyrone Tracy's still there. And that's your duo. You could supplement later on in the draft at running back. all of the above you know you could get potentially at the top of the second round um love's teammate from notre dame who bought who looked great at the combine too i remember i was telling you that brockman that dude yep unbelievable money in for atn four years 52 million yeah that's them declaring jeremiah love's not getting to us and we're not trading up to go get him we're gonna bring travis steven uh to his maison by the way good good day for running backs by the way thanks for the smirk there jason thank you it really meant a lot to me even though even though i didn't need that i'm just happy with myself do you know what he's on means no it means home home house ah yeah right remember a few years ago when people acted like the running back position that's what we're saying good day for running backs atn gets four for 52 walker three for 43 algier 212 gainwell two for 14 you know what to thank for that you yeah you pounded the table for running back but i'm when but outside of that yeah saquon doing his thing and walker winning mvp hold on but saquon doing his thing and but before all that okay mcafree coming back yeah uh saquon doing his thing derrick henry don't forget derrick henry obviously also don't forget jonathan taylor yeah may he rest in peace jim urson remember he brought him on the bus and basically said you know hey we're all just flex on the planet you know So it's not all about you.
11:46Rich Eisen:And then they pay him. And look what he did this year. I like it. They're getting their due. James Cook. Another one. James Cook. Where the hell would the Bills have been without him this year? Probably in the Super Bowl. Who the hell knows the way that they play. No, but in all honesty, glad to see it. Yeah. One more move. Eagles, Jahan Dotson going to the Falcons. Two years, 15. There you go. All right. So Falcons making moves. Nice receiver for Tua. Supposedly. Maybe. Allegedly. Allegedly. Reportedly. All right. It's a Monday. Let's do it. Let's do it while we're waiting for more news to drop.
12:23Rich Eisen:No. It's an overreaction. We didn't do the pod today. So we're doing it as a segment. Overreaction Monday. Old school. Hit it. That was terrible. That was crap. That was garbage. This place sucks. Overreaction Monday's Monday. On a Monday. On a Monday. Everybody good? You guys good? Hey, what's up, Chris? Great to see you, man. How was your trip? bro beard gang what's up how was your trip it was great thank you for asking good i love being right rich eisen and i've been saying this for years okay after the two a debacle the days of paying quarterbacks max contracts because it's their turner over
13:03over oh man it's still i i still i still can't i still can't believe it i won't see it we're not I could add Kyler to that too. Kyler and Tua blew it for everybody. Excuse me.
13:18Rich Eisen:The only way it's going to be over is if somebody who's drafted top five in one draft doesn't even get a contract offer after year three, a fifth-year option gets picked up, and they let him walk. And they go back into the draft again. Feels like we're close. That they're like, screw it. Year four, you're playing under your rookie contract. And then we're going to, you know, but before it, we give you your fifth year option. And then we let you play on that. And we don't care. We don't care if you've made. Hold on a second. And the team with that quarterback makes the playoffs in the first four years.
14:06Rich Eisen:and they still stand their ground and hold and have to deal with the player maybe not showing up to some OTAs and whatever. They have to deal with the turbulence that will no doubt come and let him play on a fifth-year option and then let him walk and then go back into the draft and get another one. Then I'll believe it. Then I'll believe it. Who's going to be that team? The Minnesota Vikings. with J.J. McCarthy? Yeah. He's not getting a max. He doesn't. You know what? I am so sick and tired of this. You've got to take your personal feelings aside, man. Be honest. It does not appear it's trending in the direction of this dude.
14:54Why? Why? Why? Statistics.
14:57Rich Eisen:Why? The kid won games this year. It's not like he was. We've seen. Why are you thinking of a star? Tyler Murray. We have seen far worse first cracks at the position. In the top 10? Getting drafted in the top 10? Correct. We've seen far worse. Josh Rosen was already gone by this point in Arizona. That is not his fault. He got thrown out behind no offensive line. Okay. And then a new coach came in and cleaned house. Him gritting into the end zone. Him throwing touchdown passes. This team finishing up. By the way, they didn't finish in last, did they? Then why is he not the starter next year? Why are they going to bring in Kyler Murray?
15:42Great question. I don't get it. If you get week 13 and 14, J.J., when he played against Washington and Dallas, five touchdowns, one pick. But what if J.J. wins the position, holds off Kyler, and makes the playoffs? You're going to give him$55 million a year because of that? No, because he's not doing it yet. Oh, he would be doing it. It's his third year. No, you wouldn't. You'd let him go into his fourth year. Right. Yeah, you would. You'd pick up his fifth year option. Right. Let him go into his fourth year. Do it again. I'm just saying.
16:12Rich Eisen:We're not there yet. It's close. By the way, Suze, who was sitting in your chair last week, you must have been walking around Hawaii, suddenly standing up straighter, wondering, why do I feel so good about myself? She's like, I don't know. He's not wrong. He's not wrong about this subject matter. How is he wrong? He's right. And so you are, the fact that we've got a glut of Kyler and Tua. Yeah. Like, we haven't seen this before. Caps getting eaten because the cap hits being accepted. Eating$100 million. It's crazy. It's a full course meal. Yeah. So, yes. Yes, cap's getting bigger. So you're somewhat able to absorb the hit more.
16:59Rich Eisen:but I just gave you the scenario I need to see first. So this is an overreaction. Great start. What else you got? All right. The deal finally went down. Sorry, Jay Feli. Max Crosby out of Vegas, going to Baltimore. And you know what? He's going to shine. Max Crosby is going to lead the AFC North in sacks this year. Dude, come on. Overreaction. It's an overreaction. I mean, Miles Garrett still plays in the division, right? For now. Okay. For now. Listen, you got to hear with this guy. Nobody capes for this man and his ability on TV more than me. Maybe some do just as much as I do. And I love Max.
17:36Rich Eisen:I love him. I love his story. I love how he represents. I love it all. Okay? But there's a guy who just set the league record in sacks for one of the worst teams ever. And one would think the Browns are going to be better. I shouldn't say that because the floor can't get much deeper. so overreaction what else you got his career best is 14 and a half which is like Myles Garrett playing only two thirds of the season Miles Garrett Sam's throwing it out there Tennessee making moves right I think they're going to take Jeremiah they just got Wanda Robinson they got a whole bald coaching staff Cam Ward is going to make the leap in year 2 new weapons and the Titans going to be in the playoffs that's an overreaction as well you don't think they can win that division um dude the jaguars played outstanding football i know what happened they just lost one of their best players okay basial tootin was pretty damn good too when when um bless you when travis etn uh wasn't on the field and i trust that staff in the front office what do you think the jaguars are just gonna fall apart i'm saying they can also make the playoffs.
18:52The Texans are there too. It's still a way to go. The Texans look bad in the playoffs and the Colts don't have a quarterback. I've got to see it first. This is an
18:59Rich Eisen:overreaction. And I love Salah. I think he can really change things around. I think he's a culture guy. I think this is great. You had Jeremiah Love to Cam Ward and Calvin Ridley and Wondell Robinson. That's fun. Iow Manor as well had a really good season. I get it. I see where there's pieces. But making the playoffs, man? Playoffs? That's correct. Thank you. Talk about. What else, Chris? TJ, I'm sorry, dude. Why? Because the Eagles are going to do something big and unexpected in free agency. Howie Roseman just makes it happen, and you know it's coming. You know it. Well, they just lost Jalen Phillips.
19:41What's big? What's big? Trading for Miles Garrett.
19:48Rich Eisen:that would that would uh that's that's that would be called seismic not big they take the picks they're gonna get for aj brown and they flip it into miles carrett boy all right i don't know i don't know listen would anything surprise you with that dude right there not at all not at all that's correct not at all um okay i'll i'll say that's not an overreaction because i would love to see that. My gosh, I'd love to see it. That would be crazy. What else you got over there? Another big move from last week. Josh Allen running out of excuses for Josh Allen. Getting offensive weapons, TJ. DJ Moore to the Bills.
20:23He's going to lead the AFC East in TD catches this year.
20:30Garrett Wilson.
20:33Rich Eisen:DJ Moore. I mean, everybody on his team, huh? Everyone on your team. We have too many good players. We've got to divvy up the touchdown. This guy. Not one guy. I don't know that that's an overreaction there. Let me see. What's DJ Moore's career best in touchdown? I got this. Don't you worry. I got it. I got this. I got this. Don't you worry. Recently? I got this. DJ Moore's career best in touchdown receptions is, in fact, eight in his first year in Chicago. Yeah, man. His first year in Chicago. When Justin Fields was slinging it around to him. By the way, is he done? Justin Fields? He's out there.
21:19Is it over? Is it over? For Justin Fields. Now that's an overreaction. Wow.
21:26Rich Eisen:I'm not saying this. I'm asking that question. No, I still think he's got enough talent and he's still young enough that somebody's going to be like, it's over for him as a starter until he needs to find like a Mac Jones plan, a Darnold plan. Hold on. Wouldn't that be a better Arizona option than Jimmy G or Geno Smith? In tandem. Trying to comprehend what they just lost. In tandem it would be. Or Jake Brisket and him. Yeah. But how many times, I mean, how many times is somebody going to take a flyer here? We don't think he has a video game addiction. I think his years of making$20 million per are over until he's got to get on some sort of a Mac Jones graduate school plan.
22:10Reclamation project? You got another one over there? Oh, I got a couple. I got two. Okay, good. You know what, TJ? You know who had the best weekend outside of Cage Brockman? Nobody. Because he lived. Everyone in Boston who wears green with Tatum back and 100 % healthy, the Celtics. NBA title favorites. Meaning Oklahoma City is no longer. Meaning NBA title favorites. Did you see SGA beat the Knicks and then show up like he was defending the planet Hoff? Like he was wearing an Ewok. Like he caught an Ewok, skinned him, put his body on him. He was wearing an Ewok. Rich was wearing the same thing.
22:52Yeah, yeah. I don't know if you saw that. That's funny. Really? More than Oklahoma City? Really? Did you watch the games? Really?

23:01Rich Eisen:I saw the fact that he came back and almost triple-doubled because Cooper was following along on his phone every five minutes. Yeah, he was. Yeah. He almost triple-doubled in, what, 27 minutes, too? Yeah. Man, the time change in Hawaii, man. And I thought. Two o 'clock. By the way, I thought he'd come off the bench, right? Yeah. I thought he'd come off the bench. They'd ease him in 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there. No. 27 minutes and he almost triple-doubles. He's back. On the Mavs. like Cooper flags watching him. It was really cute that the Cavs thought they had a chance this year. That was nice.
23:33NBA title favorites. How about favorites out of the East? How about Spurs Celtics finals? You guys good with that? You'd sign for that? I would. Wouldn't you? Wouldn't you want to see Wemby? What do you mean? And Thunder coming out the way.
23:48Rich Eisen:By the way, let me just say this real quick. And I'll end up expounding on this a little bit at some point over the next few weeks. one of the things I love about Wemby is he really cares, man. Absolutely. Like regular season games for him are like Kobe level caring. You know what I mean? With you. You know what I mean? Like he's got like Max Crosby level caring about regular season games where he is, he's like, he's like emotional. He's on the verge of tears if he loses a regular season game. I love that. The NBA needs more of that. Celtic Spurs tomorrow night. He's into the All-Star game. You know what the NBA needs also?
24:23Rich Eisen:More of this. Put it up. There it is. I don't know what that is. Now you've got to ask yourself who wore it better. I want to make sure that the... What did they put your face on that? By the way, I was watching Empire Strikes Back with Taylor this weekend. What is the price tag on that? That's what it looked like. Something out of my way. Honestly, that's what it looked like. It was Han Solo looking for Luke after dark. Last one. WBC. Not sure if you guys have checked it out this weekend. It's been awesome. It has. The crowds have been crazy. Awesome. The energy. I love it. It's so much. guys neither usa or japan are winning this thing i i look at the dude i look at the dr and i'm like how do you beat them you can't hatis grand slam today jrod bats seventh dude i don't think this is an overreaction by any stretch of the magic these games have been awesome so much fun i don't think that's an overreaction at all although skeins pitches for team usa tonight against And Scooble, by the way, how about Scooble basically like, yeah, the one and done thing.
25:23Rich Eisen:I kind of like hanging around here. I mean, I love my teammates. I love Lakeland, Florida, but it doesn't feel like this. This is big time stuff. Why would he want to leave that? You don't. Do you think we could get a possible like, remember, it was the Olympics that caused LeBron and Dwayne Wade to like team up in Miami. Right. I think this is going to be like, oh, Scooble, I like hanging out with Aaron Judge. Maybe I want to go to the Yankees. You know, tampering going on. I wouldn't mind it by any stretch. You keep playing, Tarek. You keep repping USA while Captain America has a home run in his first at-bat for said team.
26:01All right.
26:02Rich Eisen:Let's take a break. 844-204-RICH-NUMBER-TO-DAL. The Dallas Cowboys are making moves, Benny. Oh, I mean, we saved the best for last. Come on. That's not last. That's second to last. It's kind of last. It's thoroughbred.

27:55Rich Eisen:Visit HyundaiUSA.com for details. Back on our Rich Eisen Show simulcast altogether. Wow. Christopher Brockman, this was the last piece of a big offensive puzzle we were waiting to see drop. Go ahead and hit the drop, please. Here it comes. And Murray, I see breaking news. Chris, have at it. Go for it. What do you have? Future Hall of Fame wide receiver Mike Evans. His career in Tampa Bay is over after 12 seasons. He is signing with the San Francisco 49ers. Yeah, he is. Wow. Yeah, he is. Yeah, he is. Three-year deal for Mike Evans. Ring chasing. Wow. Money chasing, ring chasing. Well, he's already got a ring.
28:44More ring chasing.
28:45Rich Eisen:Well, he's ring chasing. Let's be honest here. Before he's done. Ring chasing doesn't mean that you don't have one. Yeah, but people usually assign that to people who don't. Okay. Then my apologies. If that is the case. I'm not going to argue this with Mike Evans. Okay. Mike Evans. Man, the NFC West is stacked. Loaded. Loaded. Defending champs. And the second place team in the NFC. So Devontae Adams, Mike Evans. Puka, Jackson Smith and Jigba. Cooper Cop. Christian McCaffrey. Who's really one of the best pass catchers in the NFL. Marvin Harrison. Undeniable. Right. Trey McBride. Wow. Odds are you're going to be choosing somebody in your fantasy draft in the first two rounds from the NFC West.
29:39Rich Eisen:Multiple players. I got my eyes on three of them. And I'll just say this to Buccaneer fans. I'll extend the same thing to you that I extended to you, Jay Feli, earlier. And Raiders fans earlier about Max Crosby leaving. I'm sorry. I know this is going to hurt. This hurts. This hurts probably everybody in that organization. Mike Evans is going to have his name in the honor ring. At the end of the day, he will be closely associated with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the rest of his days. And when he goes into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, as you know, it's not the same thing as Cooperstown. They don't have a hat or a helmet or a jersey on.
30:21Rich Eisen:It's just in the plexiglass holder that the bust rests on, on your shelf. he's been part and parcel of being a Bucs fan for a dozen years as you pointed out Chris he's going to the Hall of Fame he almost had another thousand yard season again he has trouble staying healthy for all 17 I get it but the Niners need him the Niners need him certainly with Kittle being out right oh yeah obviously Brandon Ayuk not gonna be on the team well Ayuk's long I Ayuk's been long long gone I understand but that's not you know receiving right I don't know how the hell they get what do they do what do they do he had his he had well he's got he's gonna be a cut he had his guarantee is voided no i i hold on to him i no no what i'm just saying is yeah i guess they're by now we we'd have heard the news what they're gonna do with him maybe they're trying to trade him i don't know yeah but great move man great aggressive move hey brock purdy that's freaking mike evans out there dude and he's gonna he's finally finally gonna give somebody else a try and he's and he's and by the way not he's got to feel good because he i'm sure he had his choice right yeah yeah absolutely i'm sure he had his choice and he chooses them no doubt you know what i mean and he chooses them yeah they still have ricky pierce all is still there yep i don't know what that means for him but no i mean what it means for him is he's still on his rookie deal so yeah you think mike tries to go and buy number 13 that's who i was just literally gonna ask who is 13 brock purdy that's right sorry yeah geez yeah yeah that's he's not getting that he might what was he in college i think he was always yeah i'm trying to remember him and manzel what number he was wearing he was 13 in college my french by the way yeah 13 college you curse and i missed it no i dropped the j word so i shouldn't do that people um rightfully get offended when it's used so my apologies um yeah in that way um but yeah yeah yeah 13 is pretty he's gonna have to choose a new number whatever it is man who's got the best offense in that division i still think it's the rams man with all due respect to the defending super bowl champs I think they'd even give it up.
32:46They would rightfully say they've got the best defense, but I even think they'd give it up. You ask the Seahawks fan on the sodium pentothal, right? You'd ask him that question. Yeah, well, they now need a running back. I mean, they just have Charbonnet now. Yeah, could you imagine Mike Evans shows up and he goes, you know what, Brock, 13's your number. I'll just take 16. uh all right i'll take eight uh brock purdy wore 15 in college there's no way is trading jwan jennings is not expected to return how about this one not expected to return great question great great great great great question great question this is great by the way i think this question i'm about to ask is great all right let me test your power of superstition if you're the Niners you're the Niners you're in charge you're in charge you would allow Brock Purdy to change his number?
33:51Yeah. Clearly he's not superstitious. He wears 13. Okay? So he's going to be like I don't care. You want 13 I'll wear a new number. Only 13 to ever win a Super Bowl. Excuse me. Excuse me. you would I'm Jed York I stand in the way saying no way why? Because Brock Purdy has been one of the greatest lucky strikes in the history of the draft and you're going to let him suddenly change his number so Mike Evans could feel better? Hell no Really? Nuh-uh Whatever Rich Eisen says is true Thank you, that's Brock himself agreeing I don't think I'm going to step in and stop it if he wants to. Oh, I would stop it.
34:37No, we're not doing anything like that. Sorry, Mike. Sorry. Sorry. You got to choose something else. Don't even bother my quarterback. Warren Sapp told me. And I listen to Warren. He would have to buy out, because in the NFL, you have to buy out the jerseys if you're going to change your number. I think Mike Evans has it. Guys, listen to this, though. Certainly with this. No, I mean Brock Purdy.
34:57Rich Eisen:Before you chime in here. Warren Sapp told me years ago that he said, he said, there are two people you are not allowed to mess with in my locker room. My quarterback and my kicker. Do not talk to them. Do not talk mess to them. Do not bother them. Do not disturb. Do not disturb. Yeah. Do not disturb. Sorry, you were saying about this subject. There's a way this could work out. How? You just said that Jawan Jennings might be gone. Right. Jawan Jennings wears number 15. That's what I said. You know who wore number 15 in college at Iowa State? Brock Purdy. I just said that a minute. Oh, I didn't know you said he wore 15.
35:40It's all good. No, no. I'm letting him tell me. No, no. You tell me. Like it's breaking news. Here's the drop. Hit the drop. I didn't hear you say he wore 15. I did. Yeah. It's okay. It's okay. I missed that part. It's perfect. That's what I mean. It works out.
35:52Rich Eisen:It's TJ's IC. do not mess with my kicker or my quarterback brock purdy stays like before mike evans what did mike what what's mike warner what do you what are you wearing high school can you look that up well like we said 15 going available so evans high school you know what i mean we know 16 and 8 those are not available what if he wants 80 80 yeah right All right, I'll take 80. I'll take 81. What else? I think he wore 13. He did. Oh, my God. That's college. Bears making moves. We got a Bears move. Okay, hold on a second. Let's get the breaking news drop. It's too good. Here it comes. And my eyes see.
36:38Breaking news. Devin Bush to the Bears. Three years, 30 million. All right. Michigan Wolverine moving around. going to Chicago back to Mike Evans Adam Schefter the decision to leave Tampa not about money Bucks were aggressive in their pursuit let's see what's it about very strong offer came down to a desire for a new challenge as Evans enters the last years of his career he's going to be 33 listen short of
37:10Rich Eisen:you know men in black erasing his memory they couldn't do anything about staying put and and he wants a new challenge over um the the ability to say i played in one spot my entire career you know what this is going to be read into is that he believes the bucks are not super bowl ready or worthy yeah i was surprised that that will be an unfortunate um read for somebody who obviously is so synonymous with the franchise but san francisco he is what a division best of luck to the Arizona Cardinals as they start from scratch as they start from scratch all right we'll take a break here 844-204-RICH number to dial sneak in a couple phone calls before we get out of dodge wow what a day what a day the Rich Eisen show the podcast

40:06Rich Eisen:So get down to your local Hyundai dealer and get away with the deals you'll love during the Hyundai getaway sales event. Visit HyundaiUSA.com for details. Listen, you know I cape for my alma mater as much as I possibly can. You know that. No, not you. And, you know, if it wasn't for the free agency frenzy, I would definitely be talking about my college basketball team right now. That's a good game. I understand that we don't send winners all the time to the next level. And I understand that the Dallas Cowboys having issues with their defensive line and right up the middle and not being able to get the right mix there for quite some time of the names involved.
40:48Rich Eisen:The four-letter word in Dallas for that is Taco Charlton. That's the way I'm going. I'm not talking about chickening out or Tuesdays. I'm saying Taco Charlton. didn't work out man didn't work out and there's been a revolving door and last year out goes Micah because the handshake was the handshake or it wasn't a handshake or whatever the hell was going on with Micah out he goes in comes Kenny Clark middle of the season the Cowboys are like you know what we're going to do we're going to take some of this Micah stuff and we're going to flip some of that capital for Quentin Williams loved it not a bad idea today they went back into the Green Bay shopping center.
41:34Rich Eisen:And they plucked Rashawn Gary, who one can absolutely say with certainty is no Tacotrome. This Michigan Wolverine is a different story. And he has led Green Bay in sacks in three of the last five seasons. He leads the Packers with 46.5 sacks since drafted in 2019. 7.5 sacks in each of the last three seasons, he's one of a dozen players in the NFL with seven and a half sacks in each of their last three seasons. And the Dallas Cowboys have had only one player with six or more sacks last year. It was Jadavion Clowney who they plucked off the couch. This is what they need at that position. Yes, sir.
42:26Rich Eisen:You want pass rush? You got your pass rush. He did it. and he and Kenny Clark know how to work together, and there's Quinn and Williams. Oh, my goodness, TJ. Are they making the right moves here? B-T-B. Bust the budget. Bust the budget. Am I wondering if they're making the right moves? Yeah. It seems, though, right? We all said that this is what they need to do. They had a historically horrible defense last year. We had to fortify it. And I'm liking the moves so far, man. Am I, are you picking up what I'm putting down here? Which is they're making some moves here. There's one more move I'd like to see them make up.
43:07Rich Eisen:What, Trey Hendrickson? Oh, baby. Is that who you're talking about? Yes, sir. But I like it. I like what we're doing. I mean, basically what they've done here is, in the last, one would say what, so since August, right? Okay. Dallas has traded away Micah Parsons and a 2027 fourth round draft choice. Yeah, F them picks. And have, in return, received a first in this year's draft, a first in next year's draft, Kenny Clark and Rashawn Gary. Let me ask you this. With each passing day, does it look better? With each passing day? Couldn't look worse. I don't know. I like Micah Parsons. Sure, but when's Micah coming back even?
44:02Rich Eisen:You know what I mean? Like anything can happen. I'm just saying it, just looking at it. They flip Micah Parsons, get two ones. They take some of that capital. Also, Quinn and Williams. I mean, you could add Quinn and Williams to this list. Kenny Clark, Rashawn Gary. If I told you, if I told you. What if I told you? What if I told you, TJ? Yes. On the day Micah Parsons was traded. It was a dark day of my life. And you refused to sign this document. Couldn't do it. The release of fandom. TJ Jefferson. You refused to do it. It is still a blank line. Oh. Nothing to notarize. You know why? Because we don't have a notary here.
44:48Rich Eisen:Come on, Jay. Right? It's still empty. It's going to stay empty. TJ Jefferson still has not signed it. But if I told you on this day and handed you a pen, And you were like thinking, I'm going to put pen to this paper. Damn, this whole business. I probably thought about it. Okay, right. All that. You're going to get, at the end of the day, a first round draft choice still in your pocket. Yes. Rashawn Gary, Kenny Clark, and Quinton Williams are on your defensive line. Your thoughts? Yeah, I'd take a low torch to that. You would have agreed to the deal. Send him. Send him, right? You say send him.
45:24At this point, yeah. At that point, I'm just saying. At that point, you know, feelings were too heavily involved the day it happened. I mean, you know what? You should do it. Your feelings is what Les Snead does with his pick. Forget him. To be very blunt, this is amazing. Yeah. Because this is the side of the ball you need to figure out.
45:44Rich Eisen:Yes, sir. And they tried for Max Crosby, and when they don't go for it because they don't want to give up two ones for him, They land Rashawn Gary for a fourth? Come on now, man. Only defensive coaching staff in there. Right? Man, it's just expectations now, man. But got hope. And as we said earlier, as a fan, right, Chris? You just want to have some. All you want is a little hope. The Cowboys allowed the most points per game and passing yards per game in the NFL last year, and I don't think that's going to happen again. Better not. But what they did on offense, I think, is more repeatable. Dude.
46:25I'm not going to do what everybody thinks I'm going to do. Which is what? You know, flip out and say we're winning the Super Bowl. But. You're going to the Super Bowl. I'm not saying. Listen. Yeah, you are. I'm not saying that. Say it. Say it. We are going to be much better than we were last year. Oh, that's all he's going to do. That's all I can give you. Bust the budget. Money for Mike Evans is in. San Francisco gives Mike Evans three years 60.4 million. I mean, you know, but it had nothing
46:56Rich Eisen:to do with money? That the Bucs were ready to do that, too. Okay. 20 million bucks a year to go finish your career in California with the San Francisco 49ers and add a second ring? Yeah, but you go to California where the taxes are high. That's okay. There's my guy, Rich. There he is. There's your new cowboy right there. Our guy. Our guy.
