3:06Rich Eisen:Ernest Jones, kind enough to join us here on the program. Good to see you, Ernest. How are you? Champion. Doing well. I'm doing well. How are you? I am doing really well, man, and I'm appreciative of you taking time here. What's the last two days been like for you, Ernest? Man, it's been full of excitement, man. I'm just blessed, you know, being here second time, you know, feeling this moment. Just want to take it all in and just enjoy it because it took a lot for us to get here. We worked hard, so we deserved it. You know, again, you're referencing, obviously, to the way your career started with the Rams and second time in terms of a Super Bowl championship.

3:40Rich Eisen:But just for you, at the end of this journey, for you, to do this with this team at this moment, I'd love for you to tell me what's in your gut, your heart, and your mind right now, Ernest. And my heart's the happiest has been in months, man. It's been a tough time, you know, from getting traded twice to losing my dad. It's super. It's been super hard. But, man, this organization, they truly don't realize they changed my life, man. This Super Bowl, this thing means everything to me to do it with this group of guys. Like I said, we deserved it. We put the work in. But for me, there's a little personal side to it that, you know, through all the things that I've been through, making it this far has been everything.

4:22Rich Eisen:Yeah, I'm just looking at the photograph of you celebrating right there on the turf on Sunday night. And then what did you do after this, after getting off the field, Ernest? I think, you know, after the field, I went back to the, you know, hotel with the family, kind of, you know, reminisced a little bit and talked about, you know, what it took to get here. And then me and the guys, we did a little party and we had us a little fun. All right. Any more meat on those bones? Your can or any more details? you can oh man yeah i'll say this we had a lot of fun but i'll say this the guys are recovering today we got the uh we got the parade tomorrow so we're we're recovering getting ready to go you know do our thing tomorrow as well all right so i'm sure at which point did you look look at your phone and feel uh the need to call puka nakua a goofy ass i mean it was crazy to me one thing about me and i'm gonna stand on this you know I don't don't don't say nothing about my teammates uh nothing and then you talk about my quarterback I'm not going for it um so I get on my phone and I'm people are texting me telling me congratulations and this pops up and I'm the ultimate ultimate teammate don't say nothing about my guys like I said so of course I had to you know to respond to an old teammate of mine

5:50Rich Eisen:Yeah, I mean, you've kind of been on record to not go verbally at your quarterback, Ernest. Yeah, I was. As a matter of fact, the Rams should know because I believe this post-game comment was uttered after your visit to SoFi this year. Let's play this for Ernest. We want to try to define Sam by this game. Man, Sam's had us in every game. game so for him to sit there and say oh that's my fault no it's not it was plays that defensively we could have made plays there were opportunities where we could have got better stops um yeah i mean like it's football man he's our quarterback we got his back and you got anything to say quite frankly

6:35yeah well done perfection thank you thank you well earnest to be honest with you i don't think

6:41Rich Eisen:you needed to quite frankly before those next two words that was pretty frank in its own right just standing on its own you know trying to make it a little respectful at the same time

6:54Rich Eisen:that's funny so tell me about Darnold when you learned about him and what you learned about him and why you cape for him like you do I think you know I was I was kind of I would be like everybody else with an outside perspective you know not meeting him you just hear about you know what he's been through in the past. So once Sam got there, the first thing I had on a Harley Davidson shirt or Harley Davidson shirt in the locker room, he made a joke about it. And then at that point I knew, I was like, okay, I can go to war with this guy. He got something to him and he put in the work. And, you know, we came to that game and I believe that was week 11.

7:28Yes. And I knew it was a rough game for him and I knew that he was going to take those shots. And when he came out of that media and he said that was his fault, it touched my heart. and nothing's ever his fault. You know, this is a team game, and I knew that if I had the opportunity to stand up for my teammate and my boy, I'd do it. What words I would say, I didn't know, but I'm glad those came out.

7:49Rich Eisen:He did, after that game, say, you know, my fault, or you're saying it to the team in a meeting? Yeah, we were walking, like, switching spots at the podium, and in between, like, the hallway, he was like, man, that's on me. He was like, man, that's my fault. And right then and there, I told him, I was like, bro, it's never your fault. bro we could have done so much better to help y 'all out like and do our job better and then you know went into the podium and said what i said let's talk about super bowl 60 in itself ernest jones the fourth here on the rich eisen show after winning super bowl 60 with his teammates um did you see on film okay we got this this is a we're we're good we just need to execute just be ourselves and this thing's a a wrap ernest i think i think it was it was that but it was also So I'm the team that I know that we are capable of.

8:42And defensively, I'm speaking of. I think if we come out there and we're on all 10, there's nobody that can stand with us. And I knew that was going to be the case in this game. Once guys started treating it like another game and it wasn't the Super Bowl, I knew in my spirit and my heart that, man, we were going to win this game.

9:01Rich Eisen:And waking up that morning, what was that like? going to the stadium in a bus, showing up, Super Bowl, seeing that patch that's right there on your right chest on a jersey, putting it on. What was that like for you, Ernest? Man, I'm just reflecting. You know, I hate I couldn't bring my dad to this game. I hate he wasn't there with me, but I was telling a lot of people, man, I felt him with me this week more than I've had since he's left. That was last year, right? Your dad passed last year? Yes, sir. That was last year. Yes, right before training camp. And I felt it more than ever. And I knew, man, you know, we had to go through the theatrics of the game.

9:42It was a little longer drawn out. But once we got on that field, you could tell in that locker room guys are ready. And I knew it was just a matter of time before we were, you know, holding our hand up at the end of the night.

9:54Rich Eisen:And so when in the game did you know this was our day? Was there a play for you?

10:03um i i early on in the game we could tell it it just we we're we're built on a certain style and certain way we play and we weren't i'm just we weren't getting that and i could just tell early in the game that we were just you know just a little too much at this point and what's the secret sauce for your defense why is your defense so good earnest man i think i think it's just Truly, man, when you got a group of men that truly love each other and it's not just what we do for each other on the field, it's off the field, there's true connections. Man, a group of us doing that, it all, you know, going towards one goal, that's powerful, and I think that's what it was.

10:43We set our mind on, you know, this season is a failure if we're not the best defense in the league and we aren't, you know, in the Super Bowl. So we had a goal and we stuck with it.

10:53Rich Eisen:And you showed up in the middle of last season. And what was your first impression of Mike McDonald that stands the test over the last year and a half for you? My first impression was like, oh, OK, he's a he's a different guy. But, man, this this I think what he's building is going to work. And I believed in it. You know, I think it took me a couple of weeks getting around the guys, getting around him, seeing how they operate. And I'm like, OK, this is what it takes. You know, I believe we can win here. You know, to come back around a year later, a full, full season with Mike, man, to be at a Super Bowl and to 1-1, it's everything.

11:30Rich Eisen:And there's this, I know, the spear or totem pole in the meeting room, right? Like, he didn't really want to talk about it when I brought it up to him, where you take a helmet of each team that you vanquish and pop it on there, right? Right. What is that like? I mean, walk me through that ceremony. What happens when that happens? I think it started, you know, early in the year during OTAs. We had competitions for, like, you know, lifting and running, and it was the tip of the spear. So basically, you were the guy at the tip of the spear that was leading the charge that day. And then it transformed into the season, you know, beating teams.

12:07We were taking some trophies back with us, which were, you know, we always exchanged helmets. So the tip of the spear combined with the helmets, we started stacking, stacking, stacking, and, you know, a lot of wins up there. it'll make that spirit look real crazy.

12:22Rich Eisen:Ernest Jones, I've got a celebrity fan who just sat down here. I think you would. Joel McHale, would you like to say something to a Super Bowl champion that you root for, Joel? I'm speechless, and that never happens, and I can't believe I'm even – I cannot believe I'm – you can even see me, Ernest Jones, the fourth. Thank you for what you've done. Thank you for those 11 tackles. That was a masterpiece on Sunday. My Lord, what a season. Thank you. My gosh, I'm going to cry. This is awesome. Of course. Thank you for having us. Thank y 'all. Thank y 'all, man. It's been big to do this for the 12s, to do this for the fans in the city.

13:00Man, it's everything. Are you going to be at the parade? In it, at it, whatever. I'm going to be there. How many hours of sleep have you had since Saturday night? Honestly, Saturday night. Okay, that's a good one. That's a great one.

13:17Rich Eisen:because I'd imagine you're sitting there you got one more sleep you're wondering what's going on eight eight nine ten hours in like I slept good on the plane and then we didn't do much last night so I I'm gonna enjoy tomorrow though I'll say that did you go to bed on Sunday night by the time like because you went to Disneyland was there any sleep so no I definitely went to sleep I was up to about four three four in the morning and then I I turned it over did you ride on the Matterhorn or Did you go on any roller coasters? Because you were like, this is good for my head right now. This isn't good for me.

13:53Oh, okay.

13:54Rich Eisen:Very good. I love it. You don't have any questions about the actual game itself. I guess there's nothing to ask about it, right? Look, there hasn't been any analysis of the game since it was on. I'm waiting for it. So where are you in the parade? Walk me through what you already know about what it is and what you're going to do, Ernest? You know, they just told us to show up here tomorrow at 8, so I'll show up here tomorrow with, you know, everything needed for Super Bowl parade. What is needed? What does one bring? You can bring some goggles. You got to make sure there's water on deck because, you know, of course you're drinking things other than water.

14:38Milkshakes.

14:38Rich Eisen:That's true. Seattle's best coffee. Yes.

14:44Rich Eisen:Okay. Goggles, water. Yes, water. Okay. Food beforehand and then just bring good vibes. You got gear? You got something picked out? Something? I do. I'm hoping. I got a shirt made. Hopefully it comes through. I won't spill it right now, but hopefully I can get this shirt made in time for tomorrow. Does it say Pook is a goofy ass on the front? Is that what it says? That was so great. It does have something to do with my quarterback, though. Okay. Oh, man. Does it have to do with the sound bite that we played earlier? You may be working on something. Oh, my God. Did you see Coach McDonald on Kimmel last night?

15:25I didn't. He did great. Did he? He was great. He was really great. You're so sorry. It was way better than your show. No, wait. I'm kidding. You're terrific.

15:35Rich Eisen:Rich, you are amazing. Yeah, did Kimmel hook you up with his Super Bowl champion? You know what? You're right. You see what I'm saying? You are right. Come on now. You win. You win. You win. Ernest, he just came at the quarterback here. Do you got something you want to say to him that's safe for work? Hey, listen, stay off my guy. That's it. I wouldn't use those words, but honestly, my grandfather is so upset that he has to turn on the TV and he sees that F you. He doesn't care for it too much. Oh, okay. Just keep going. 11 tackles, Grandpa. 11 tackles. I love it. Ernest, thanks for the time, sir.

16:10Rich Eisen:Congratulations. Enjoy the parade. I can't wait to see the shirt. You know, if I can get if I'm a size large, if you guys are a size large, it's in double X for him. That's it. No, no. Yeah. After Super Bowl week. Absolutely. But for real, I brought my 17 year old son to that game and we wept like babies at the end of that game. And thank you for my gosh, you brought it back. Of course. Thanks for bringing it back to Seattle. Thank you. Thank you. Where it belongs. Thanks again, Ernest. Take care of yourself. You know, obviously the goal is to repeat and celebrate in the Rams locker room like you celebrated in the Niners locker room.

16:49Rich Eisen:Right. That'd be something. Wouldn't it be? Wouldn't that be perfect for you? I think. Yeah. The 49ers have to tear down that stadium. Do the 49ers need at least replace the carpets in their locker room? Yeah. Carpets. Maybe redo the lockers a little bit. Do a little something. OK. All right. To be respectful. Thanks again for the time, Ernest. Thanks again, man. Ernest Jones. Jones the fourth right here. Rich Eisen. What else can I do? My Lord, it's great to see you. Can you believe this? I can't wait to chat about it with you. Joel McHale is here, everybody, in support of animal control on Fox.

22:08Rich Eisen:year old son was at the game you know suzy as well and uh because he's a diehard patriot fan because suzy's the patriot fan and i said to him after that that kid's video went viral and he's like you know go ahead you can hit it mike i hate this team we we have that as a drop ready to be dropped anytime that it is appropriate uh i told him i'm like listen man one of the greatest things i've ever done for you in your life was i did not demand you start following the new york jets and try and instill that in you you're sitting here at the super bowl for it and so how long did you stay you stayed for the confetti and the whole thing oh we were there yes for hours no kidding and then we went to the party oh you did afterwards what was that like what was that ludicrous play it was great uh and the team showed up i think mike mcdonald i watched him hug his parents and uh i was like this is i can't and i kept saying to my son i was like do you have any idea how lucky you are and uh and then my older brother works for the seahawks he's one of their electricians so he was there so are you serious yeah what he still does or he did back in the day he does right now what does he do for him he's an electrician so he's fix he helps fix lumen field and gets that all going and okay uh and works for the yeah he fixes all their stuff and make sure there's no arc flashes or they accidentally electrocute themselves uh that's got a crucial role oh yeah there is a thing when i'll talk to him at the end of the day i was like how was your day and he goes uh i tried not to blow myself up and i'm like what did you do joel i'm like i wrote a fart joke and uh tested it out and but he's so yeah so it was this great we were there till like one in the morning and uh it was oh man yeah and then we hopped back on a flight uh and uh as my younger son was back at school so uh it was yeah i can't i you you know these when it works when it's it's your jets have never it's been correct uh 68 69 69 uh it was uh joe joe willie nameth won it all you were what in graduate school good one oh sorry a good one I appreciate that.

24:12Rich Eisen:No, I was not yet born. I was a twinkle at that point in time. And again, it's funny because I guess this is a tradition. After the Seahawks win a Super Bowl, I've got to see you within 24 to 48 hours. Because I was basically almost stuck in an airport with you and your wife the day after the Super Bowl. Can we talk about that? Go for it. I'll give you the floor on that if you'd like to. Well, there was a famous actor there in the lounge. We had a great time in the lounge. We're sitting there just having cheese cubes. They were de-icing the plane. We were waiting. And then, yeah, his wife... Ripped him a new one.

24:52Was yelling and kept calling for Chardonnay, and it was flowing. And we were sitting there saying, what do we do?

25:00Rich Eisen:What do we do? What do we do? We just say, grab another Ritz cracker and take another cheese cube and eat it. So Rich intervened, which I thought was inappropriate. and uh yeah so i guess yeah i won't this actor's name rhymes with i'm not gonna we can't do it no yeah you can't no yeah it would be i would you're you're you're the you're the actor here true thank you so it's up to you whether you want to uh it rhymes with rob gronkowski my favorite actor uh yeah we can't yeah i will say yes when we're sitting there watching the super bowl and people when i hear people like game's boring the first like you heard that and i was like it every second every moment is tense and it is like it's all i mean it's just like every it's like a it's like the world series like that's game seven where you're like every step every so correct because i i was you know trying to keep the spirits up of a 14 year old to my left who thought every single snap was the end of the patriot season yeah and i'm like dude it's six nothing one touchdown one throw one Keyshawn booty one-handed grab of just like let's let's just throw up throwing up for grabs and touchdown and you're winning that you're leading this game and the last two playoff wins featured the opposing quarterback making an incredible boneheaded decision deep in his own end to flip the entire script yeah I'm like and Sam Donald has had that in him, but that guy never showed.

26:30His game management was brilliant. It was. But it was just, it was like, just tiny chess pieces moving for that first half. It was stressful.

26:41Rich Eisen:I don't blame you, because it definitely was, I understand from a Patriot point of view, it felt desperate from jump. Yeah. But for a Seahawks perspective, I imagine it was like, this is going well. This is going really well. It's against the Patriots in the Super Bowl. And the last time I felt things were going well against the Patriots in the Super Bowl, the worst gut punch of gut punches that could ever be conjured up by the football gods happened. Real PTSD. Did I express your feelings properly? Perfectly. And yeah, so every inch, every little bit. So like every time we were kicking, I was like, we can just kick.

27:19We can just keep kicking field goals. Let's just stop on third down and just kick another field goal. We're doing great. Because Jason Myers was a kicker. And obviously Dixon just. He was great, too.

27:29Rich Eisen:The coffin corner punt that kind of stunted some of the. Best punter in the history of the NFL. I'm going to say it right there. I love it. And by the way, Jason Myers outscored the Patriots 17 to 13. So just his points alone would have been a four point win. Wouldn't it covered, though, right? Jason Myers did not cover. Jason Myers did not cover. With the other 52, he did. When they pulled out the fact, they're like, oh, Patriots haven't scored. Because they didn't score until the fourth quarter. Correct. And I was like, I didn't even, we were, the Seattle sections, we were not thinking of that.

27:58We were just like, we have to, I was like, it's, we gotta keep going. We gotta just get this thing. 19-7, a little nervous? Yes, a little nervous. Yeah, I was.

28:10Rich Eisen:We couldn't do anything in that game. Yeah, anything could happen. But then, like, when I saw Julian Love afterwards, and I saw him afterwards. Nice. But I saw him interviewed, and I did see him afterwards. he was just a nice man and really gracious i can't believe but uh he was like no we knew during the first quarter that we had him i was like oh then when you look back i'm like oh they did it was i know and i was like what a what a freaking performance i mean well i'll tell you 19 nothing that uh half streaker comes on the field okay stops the game yeah and then the security guard you see the security guard slipped and fell like three times like a pratfall like a Like a Benny Hill open.

28:49Rich Eisen:So I think he blew his hamstring out. Something happened because he couldn't get up. He couldn't get off the field. I'm telling you, it was one of the weirdest things. I turned to Susie and I said, if the Patriots come back and win this game, it'll be called the streaker game. And they're going to find that guy and build a statue of that guy in Boston. And then two passes later, Matt Collins is in the end zone to make it 19-7. and Susie looked at me like, what the hell just happened? Genie. And then they got the ball back. It did look good for you because Marcus Jones called for a fair catch, didn't grab it, and then the ball wound up again with Michael Dixon doing his magic inside the five.

29:32Rich Eisen:And then you got further down the field. That's when Julian Love stepped in. That's when. But in those moments, you had to sit there and go, it's happening. I thought, oh, no. I literally was like, you've got to be kidding me. we are going it's going well but and the streaker whatever i don't know what he was thinking but i was like if you're gonna streak yeah get fully naked do it don't come on don't just go shirtless then then you just look like a guy who's maybe at a resort or something i don't but apparently there was two of them i didn't know that and one was stopped very early on that's what i was told i didn't know that that dude i mean as everyone said obviously they don't show it on tv but very athletic.

30:13He did. He had an escapability.

30:15Rich Eisen:There were four blue-shirted security guards that I thought had him, and then he got out the gate, and Kyle Williams said, not today. And that's when a Patriot chased him down and ended it. We should have signed the guy. He was good moves. We needed him. Didn't he have something painted on him? It was a message, whatever, but you're right. He didn't commit. I didn't even think about that. You're right. That's a good take. You're full of streaker takes, huh? Yeah, I was like, the 70s really proved that streaking was an art. And I know they clamped down for that. But come on, if you're going to get out there.

30:51And that poor, it was like, yeah, it was like the poor. I hope. Do we have an update on the security guard?

30:57Rich Eisen:I don't know. But that was the wildest part of it because it was over, streaker out. And then everybody gets ready to play again. And I'm telling you, the security guard kept falling and getting it. And then falling and falling. Like, I thought it was another bit. Yeah. I thought he might have blown out as a kill. It didn't look good for him. Because it's one of those things where he thought, I'm fine. And then it just collapsed and maybe taken off the field. So Joel McHale here. And then he was sacrificed, which I thought was horrible. Oh, my God. I'm sorry. No, no, no, no. Not at all. That when I talk to fans, diehards of a team that is performing better than they think and then go even further in winning it all, they have got a certain sense about what they love about the team, just this iteration of it.

31:46Rich Eisen:So what do you love about this 2025 Seahawks team outside of, you know, obviously. Oh, like uniform design? I think they're nailing it. I do think we have. Although the old school Chuck Knox era stuff. I thought they should have worn that in Super Bowl 60, man. That would have been amazing. I don't know if there's other than the kind of hot lime green. Yes, sir. All that which are fine. We can be spotted in space. But yeah, I think our uniforms are better than anyone's. You've got a great uniform. We really do. This team, boy, it is. I didn't realize all that dark side stuff that they were like, we're going dark side.

32:26And then I was like, oh, that we have that, too. Good. We have that. We got Legion of Boom. We have dark side. Great. But I know that Mike McDonald obviously created and John Schneider created this culture that they seem like the nicest guys. And then I ran into Matthew Lillard at the pre-party, name drop, Scream 7, coming out on February 27th. And he was like, his wife was like, we went to one of the practices. And she was like, they were all so kind to us. They were all so cool. No one was. And there doesn't seem to be any, as we were talking earlier, any insane people. And they just like and they just seem really kind and they got each other's backs, just like Ernest Jones did for Sam Darnold.

33:15And it seems it's just like this little bit of magic that and I think that, you know, with Mike McDonald saying doesn't he doesn't care who they, you know, doesn't care who they play. and I was like, yeah, that's that. And our children, there's Schneider, what a nice man. I still haven't met Mike McDonald. Never met him. I'm excited to. Okay. If I ever get a chance. Let's fix that up. And when he was looking around, like right after he shook the hand of Rabel and just kind of looked around, I was like, wow, what a wonder. It hit him. I'm going to cry again. See, it's happening again, guys. But it seems, I know that the conversation starts so fast with analysts where they're 10 minutes after, They're like, yeah, but what are they going to do next year?

33:56Right, I know. And I was like, this moment is, yeah, it was, it's really the amount of joy that it gives Seattle and is just, yeah, it's great. I know that there's so many people tuning out right now. No, not at all.

34:10Rich Eisen:Again, Joel, you're giving voice to not only everybody that roots for Seattle, but I mean, 31 other fan bases want to feel like you too. Yeah, it's great. They want to have a moment. There's so many people. It's great. You can confirm. it's great and because i grew i grew up in a time in seattle when uh in the 70s when i when i we first moved there where it literally said with the last person in seattle please turn the lights out because it was during the opec thing and so and uh warehauser and boeing were down and then and then seattle slowly started making its way culturally and made its own music and then of course microsoft amazon nintendo uh starbucks and all that started coming and bruce lee thank you and then of course most recently we invented pickleball so uh it's gone well and uh we did invent pickleball bainbridge island so uh did you know that did you know that chris i did not did yeah did you know i did not i came to la 24 years ago and i'd be like you guys want to play pickleball and people looked at me like what like it was some sort of weird innuendo and uh and then and then now now it's being banned because of that the noises thinking noise yeah yeah same thing with the waymos making noise when they get charged up you know when do you guys sleep never when like by the way i've ernest jones got me beat eight hours over the last three days yeah i would love Rich, I have another question for you.

35:40Yes? Because I watch the show, guys. And when you're like, okay, here we go with the Seahawks fan. You're like, I know I said this earlier. Because it seemed like which fan base comes down the hardest on you? Like, gives you more crap. Seahawks have been pretty tough this year.

35:57Rich Eisen:I mean, listen, because I have every right to sit here and say a 10-win team that missed the playoffs last year with Sam Darnold coming in. I do need to see more of it. I needed to see more of it. I thought the Rams were the best team in the NFL for much of the year. Stafford was clearly the MVP of the league, and the way that he performed against this defense that is generationally great, I think, proved my vote correct. But the minute I started giving due was after the Rams game. All right. And in week 16. And Mike McDonald came on the show. I'll say hi to him for you the next time. I might go to the parade.

36:32Rich Eisen:But no, they gave me some grief. Are we the most vocal? No, no, no, no. Steelers fans. Steelers fans give me crap for Capen for Tomlin. 49ers fans. 49ers fans sometimes. Jaguars fans when I throw a commercial break when they're on the clock in the draft and I have nothing to do with that sort of stuff. But it's all good. Again, fan is the root of fanatic, sir. So I get it. And do you guys think Charbonnet will be okay for next year? I hope so. I hope so. He also was... He doesn't get mentioned enough at how much he can now. I mean, obviously he couldn't play. So, but yeah. Let's talk about your stuff before you have to go.

37:11I'm not leaving. I've been told you have to. Do you remember when I hosted this thing a few years ago? I do. First year. I still feel bad about swinging the golf club and I'm like, what was I thinking? It's great. I sound like an insane person. So I apologize.

37:23Rich Eisen:You can do this again whenever you want. And Animal Control, Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Fox. On Fox. I love the cones, man. That was because we all had worms. it was had nothing to do with the show i just didn't i just didn't know that you had a scab on your knee that they didn't you didn't want to bite it um chasing a naked seven you just referenced it scream seven mentioned matthew lillard yes who's probably also on cloud nine right now gosh and a very kind man yeah he was here in this chair about six weeks ago um so that's coming out scream seven that's pretty cool then you're gonna have to watch the one percent club on fox guys in april okay which is uh puzzles house of villains premieres villain starts next week on peacock you are the host yes it's odd that fox is giving you shows they had when do they ever give you shows right well that's peacock well i understand that but thank god fox thank you fox for letting me be on the air joel mccale man i have a good time i love it dude i mean look at this makeup it's yeah i get hair and makeup it's great what was the craziest thing on talk soup in the history of talk soup i think when for you danny bonaduce came on and he was sober but we were he had because he was in on the show he was did a lot of martial arts stuff and so he was like i i want to come on the show and break a board over my head and we're like okay that's great and then uh this seems safe and there was a time folks when uh They're basic cable.

38:54You could just do anything. There was no rules. And he brought the board himself. Oh, I see. BYOB. Which was smart. Like, you don't get someone else's board.

39:06Rich Eisen:You're not just going to show up. The E channel's going to be in charge of the board. You're going to smash in your head. And it was a solid two by four. Okay. And the first time I hit him over the head with it, it didn't break. Oh, wait a minute. I thought he. no i hit him and then hit him with a he wait a minute and he was so he was like i want you to break it over my head over the top of my head and i hit him it didn't break and then he was like hit me again and then it did break but he was clearly dazed and blue tent if there was a blue tent on the on the suit oh he was so concussed you'd have been in the blue tent it was and i to his great credit he stayed on camera but i was like i think he we've injured him or i have i guess i could be suit but it would that was that popped into mind is like wow he really he really went for it and uh and it it worked i remember tila tequila came on we gave her artist of the year and i said i will i'm sorry that we never gave it to you um artist of the year that is so funny uh and i wore a hazmat suit to give her the award i handed it to her with tongs because i didn't want and she agreed to all of it and then i remember we had the cast of we were showing we had the cast of madman on and then lavar burton was also available okay and then we're like we'll just have you all on and then he improvised it like the cast introduced themselves and then lavar burton goes i'm the redhead and uh and it was so funny ham was part of it ham was not no okay he was busy receiving many awards i'm sure at the time okay the uh the creator was that yeah it was great so uh what oh yeah oh i think also when eminem wanted to be on the show that was really i was like wait eminem watches also an incredible nfl analyst uh yes eminem is and uh and now i was like this is what a weird thing dude that was an incredible run and i i always enjoyed way back it's been off the year for 10 years has that really been yeah it's more you must have people who bring it up to you all the time though still no no yeah those are that are still alive okay I'm glad that I was alive enough to bring you on.

41:36And Rich, I know you don't hear that. I mean, you are one of the greatest. Okay. I'm not going to, I'm not trying to buy back. It was just like, yeah, there's nobody. There's nobody that has been around as like doing what you've been doing for as well as you've done it for this long. All right. Stop. I'm stopping. Are you still? I'm not trying to. Yeah. I'll take it all. I feel the same way about you. You were used. your selection of vocabulary alone is yesterday you were like marauded yes they marauded and i

42:04Rich Eisen:was like good one dude that's like i described your defense that was like a perfect i was like that's it thank you sir i appreciate it syntax and all uh animal control airs thursday 9 p.m eastern on fox currently in season four season three of house of villains premieres february 26th on peacock and scream seven available in theaters the new paramount film that'll be a nationwide One wide release on the final Friday of this month. 44:43Perfect. Yeah, I think Seattle is a dynasty brewing. They have one of the youngest teams in the league. They've got the six most cap space in the league next year. I think they add Max Crosby, and they're back, and I'm calling you again this time next year. Add Max Crosby? Just add Max. Yeah. I'm telling you. I know it sounds crazy, right? But we've got all the cap space to do it. We've got Kenneth Walker. We're going to re-sign him. We can let Boye Moffey walk and Max Crosby's ours. And I'll tell you what, we were a field goal away from winning 15 in a row to end this season. So I think we're talking about one of the best teams ever.

45:26Rich Eisen:Alex in Seattle. It's kind of tough to push back. Obviously, we'll have to see. We'll have to see. We'll have to see. And I find it that Clint Kubiak, who was just named today, and thanks for the call, Alex. Clint Kubiak just named today as the Raiders head coach. First phone call, if he hasn't already made it, is to Max Crosby and say, let's talk. Before anything happens here, if there's any rumor that he really has told Brady, I don't want to ever play here again. I'm done. I can't imagine that Humpty Dumpty can't be put back together. But if they do trade him, they definitely want to send him to the NFC.

46:05Rich Eisen:That's for sure. And then in terms of a dynasty in the making, let's take it one at a time. And in terms of one at a time, we do this every single year, the Tuesday after the Super Bowl. We take a look at next year's opponents for the Super Bowl winner and take a stab at who we think will be and should be. It's two different things. the opener for a banner raise night to open up the following season. Last year, though, when we put up the Eagles opponents, I didn't think in a million years they'd put the Cowboys there. But let's see. Well, get ready. Who are the opponents? And they are the Cowboys.

46:44Yeah, exactly.

46:45Rich Eisen:Dude, the Chiefs there? No Mahomes. That's true. So put them aside. Do a Super Bowl rematch. I think the Bears, that's the one. Rams. Oh, it's a Super Bowl rematch. I doubt they'll do that. I doubt they'll do. John Harbaugh's first game as a Giant, that's not that big of a deal in terms of Seattle versus the Giants. I think the Bears. It's either Rams or Bears. Rams or Bears. But I don't know if they want to. We've seen the division game before. Well, part of the reason why they put the Cowboys in Philadelphia to start the season, as we heard from the guy who puts the schedule together, the executive in charge in the NFL, Mike North, was that there were so many other compelling matchups because the AFC and the NFC North played one another that they were able to spread things around and put a piece of filet mignon like that on the opening night.

47:33Rich Eisen:I don't know what it is. I would choose the Bears. TJ, who would you choose? The Bears? I mean, it depends. You want everybody to watch the game. Okay, I got it, Cowboys. Clear and obvious. What do you think? What do you think? I'm going Rams. They played three outstanding games this year with each other. I like the Rams, too. But there are some juicy choices. You might want to introduce the world to Caleb Williams. Thanks for taking it. Good one. Thanks for taking in this show. Thanks for listening to the Rich Eisen Show podcast.
