1:28This is the Rich Eisen Show. How about the Cowboys?
1:33Rich Eisen:Would this suffice as breaking up with the team? From the Rich Eisen Show studio in Los Angeles. I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. My trade request has been submitted. Micah Parsons. Earlier on the show, legendary broadcaster Brent Musburger. Jaguars head coach Liam Cohen. WWE superstar Seth Rollins. Coming up, hosts of American Ninja Warrior, Matt Eisman and Akbar Fajabiamila. And now, it's Rich Eisen. Hour number three of the Rich Eisen Show is on the air. 844-204-RICH is the number to dial. Seth Rollins is going to join us shortly. We've been told he's stuck in traffic, but honestly, can we really believe him?
2:21Rich, that's a great point. Can't believe nothing Seth Rollins said. Great point. We'll get to that in a second.
2:25Rich Eisen:844-204-RICH, number to dial. In our green room, Akbar Bajah Biamila. Yes. Matt Eisendorf are here together. All right. And how many times have we had guests on the show and their show that they're here to promote gets picked up for another season? That's happened quite a bit, right? Quite a bit. Quite a bit. And we always take full credit for that sort of thing, right? Absolutely. And so they just got picked up for season 94 million. That's a record. That's definitely a record. Actually, no, it's actually season 18. How is it really 18 seasons? Feels like it's longer than that, right? It feels way longer.
3:01Rich Eisen:That show's sick. American Ninja Warrior. Finals begin tonight, 8 Eastern on NBC, and then the next day on Peacock, which means you can see it right here on the Roku portal. 844-204-RICH is the number to dial here on the program. Let's go to Curtis in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to kick off hour number three here. What's up, Curtis? What's on your mind? Hey, Rich. I wanted to just do the annual tradition of me calling into the show and doing the win-loss Chiefs game with you. All right. From there in Colorado, are you from the great state of Missouri and or Kansas? I am from Wichita, Kansas. Okay, very good.
3:38Rich Eisen:All right. So you're legit, is basically what you're saying. Yes. Okay. Right there in Broncos country, I would imagine. Let's get some music here for Curtis. a tradition unlike any other, calling in for the defending American Football Conference champion Kansas City Chiefs. Here we go. Other than me, he's the only one to attempt this so far. Curtis, what happens in Sao Paulo, Brazil, when things start off on YouTube between the Chargers and the Chiefs? What do you have? Kansas City comes home with a W. 1-0, home for the Eagles. That's a loss. Ooh, 1-1 at the G-Men. That is a win. Now you've got the Ravens on CBS late window week four.
4:27Rich Eisen:That's a win. That's 3-1 at the Jaguars on a Monday night. Win. 4-1 home for the Lions Sunday night. That's a win. That's a win. That's now a Raiders home date at 5-1. That's a W. 6-1 home for the Commanders on a Monday night. Close, but it's a win. 7-1 at the Bills with a six-game win streak into Western New York. Bills beat us in the regular season. That's a loss. Okay. Coming off of the bye, 7-2 at the Broncos. Don't lose after a bye. That's a win. 8-2 home for the Colts. That's a W. 9-2. Thanksgiving early evening at the Cowboys. That's a win. 10-2 home for the Texans on a Sunday night. That's a win.
5:27Rich Eisen:11-2 home for the Chargers. That is a loss. Ooh, 11-3 at the Titans. That's a win. 12-3 home for the Broncos on a Thursday night. That is a loss. Ooh. Okay, 12-4 at the Raiders. That is a win. 13-4, says Curtis in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Thank you, sir, for the call. There you go, Colorado Springs. This should be no surprise. Week one, it's the Friday night standalone on YouTube. Week two, it's a late window on Fox. Whole Country's going to be watching them host the Eagles in the home opener in Arrowhead. Week three, Sunday night at the Giants. Week four, late window, CBS, whole country's going to watch them take on the Ravens at home.
6:17Rich Eisen:Week five, it's a Monday nighter against Jacksonville. Week six, it's a Sunday nighter against the Lions. Pretty much the whole country's going to watch the first six Chiefs games. Then you've got a straight up like vanilla, if you will, sorry. One Eastern time, CBS, home date, straight up noon, central against the Raiders. Monday night against the Bill, the commanders. Then a late window CBS whole country watches them at the Bills. Then a late window CBS whole country watches them at the Broncos. One o 'clock noon central against the Colts. Thanksgiving, I mean, that might break a record for the most people to watch a Thanksgiving game.
6:54Rich Eisen:Chiefs, Cowboys, right? Yep. Then a Sunday night against the Texans. Then two, one Eastern games, home for the Chargers at the Titans. Prime video Thursday night at the Raiders. I mean, the whole country is going to watch the Chiefs again. Makes sense, doesn't it? Makes sense. I said 15-2. 13-4. The first six games, bro, that game down in Brazil against the Chargers, you've got the Eagles at the Giants, you've got the home for the Ravens. I mean, Duval's going to be lit for that Monday night against the Chiefs in Jacksonville, right? That'll be the measuring stick five games into Liam Cohn's tenure, then you have the Lions.
7:41It won't happen, but they could start 1-5. Oh, stop. What?
7:46Rich Eisen:I thought you were going to go 3-3. I thought you were going to go like 500, and everyone's like, are the Chiefs finally going to get got, and then they flip a switch. I thought that's where you were going to go. That's more likely than 1-5. That seems like it's going to happen, but I'm saying there's a world where they go 1-5. They were 11-0 in one-score games last year. That's not going to happen again. Hold on a second. They win at the Giants? or they win at Jacksonville. Beat the Giants. And then they lose everything else? Yeah. They start 0-2, beat the Giants, and then they lose their next three, including the two home games against the...
8:16Rich Eisen:So they... You think they start 0-3 in our head? I don't think any of that. I'm saying that could happen. There's a world in which that happens. You heard Brent say, Super Bowl losers in week one? That's a tough spot. And they're in a foreign country against a division rival? They could lose that. Then a Super Bowl rematch? Yeah, they could lose that. Then they spank a length of the Giants and everyone's like, Chiefs are back. Then they got to play the Ravens. Ravens got a lot to prove in that game. Now they're one in three. At Jacksonville, Monday night, Jaguars are back. Maybe they're three and one at that point.
8:52And then the Lions, who they lost to, to open the year two years ago. I don't know. It's not impossible.
9:01Rich Eisen:Okay. Hmm. 844-204-RICH is the number to dial right here on the program. I disagree greatly. You disagree that it couldn't happen at all? At all. I mean, anything is possible. But I do not believe the Chiefs are going to have a massive hangover. At all? They're just going to go 15-2 again like the Super Bowl didn't happen at all. Here's the issue. Is Rasheed Rice going to miss any of the first four games? Yeah, he should miss six of them. Okay, so that's a problem. That's the, again, this is the, I'm not going to go the, the, you know, with all due respect to, you know, Brent Musburger that look at the history of teams that lose in the Superbowl and what happens.
9:45But they didn't just lose in the Superbowl.
9:47Rich Eisen:Because Mahomes and Reed and Kelsey and Chris Jones and the offensive line and Carl Loftus. And they got thoroughly embarrassed. And Spagnolo and all of those guys did, they're all back together. together they're all there and they're all guys who are not used to this sort of thing and are all potentially the type of people who put a chip on their shoulder and say let's go they're all a year older but they're all a year better in many ways and again it's all about Travis Kelsey what are we going to see out of him is he the canary in the coal mine for a team that can finally get God at some point they're going to have to turn the page and create another dynastic run with a completely different roster in the same way Brady and Belichick did in New England.
10:35Rich Eisen:Is that this, is this, that moment? I do not believe so. I do not believe so at all. And week one, that game on YouTube is going to be a massive measuring stick. Massive, big time, huge. You know, we keep talking about the Superbowl. What about the 17 games they won? Like where there were constant question marks about the officiating and the ball bounces and the dumb things the other teams did. Yeah, that's fine. That means that things are going their way too. Not only are they beating you because they're better, they're also getting the benefit of the doubt on calls. The luck is also on their side.
11:13The luck isn't always going to be. And that's the point is
11:16Rich Eisen:how much did luck play into that season last year? I don't believe it did. At all? I mean, it did in terms of in terms of them getting their record that they did get lucky, but I still don't think that that meant they weren't good yeah we have seven years worth of footage to say that this isn't although the team isn't just lucky the greatest meme out of those uh two unfortunate um executives caught on camera at the um at the cold play concert was uh you know uh mahomes and the ref cuddling the referee there were a lot of those a lot of them are funny i mean when cooper comes out of camp and I explain to him this whole thing and then show him the meme, I think he'll get a big kick out of that.
12:01Rich Eisen:Because as you know, I'm raising an anti-chief conspiracy theorist for some reason in my household. And I don't know where he's getting that from. I have an idea. He's got to get it from somewhere. Well, he doesn't like the fact that his older brother loves Taylor Swift. That's number one. I think that's where a lot of this is being born out of. More than likely. You know? So, I believe in him. So, all right. I'm being told Seth Rollins is making his way to his position right now. And I guess he's taking extra time because he's so hurt. He's limping over, huh? Listen, man, he got him down that ramp on.
12:45Hold on a second.
12:47Rich Eisen:We've got to set this thing up. So, please. Listen, Seth Rollins came on this program multiple times. And I'm like, you know what? he's got the gift. He's got the, he's got, he's got the gift of gab. Many of these professional superstar wrestlers have an incredible way of being pros and being able to talk. You know what I mean? So let's, let's get them here. And sure enough, he agrees to do it. Cause I'm out of the chair for the American century championship and, and Lake Tahoe. And he's going to agree to do two days. And then you guys text me the weekend before. hey, Seth Rollins just got hurt.
13:27And it looked bad.
13:28Rich Eisen:And it looked bad. And I'm like, oh no. So I reached out to see if he was going to, you know, appear. And the initial reaction was, absolutely, he's going to do this. And I texted back and forth with him, called him up. And I'm like, you know, if you don't mind sharing your, because, you know, this show is about yourself and it's about your family life and it's about whatever you're willing to share. But your professional life, everybody's kind of interested in that. Do you mind sharing what's going on with your body and your knee? And his response was, absolutely, I'll do that. I'm like, that's great.
14:03Rich Eisen:He's a pro. That was mandatory, though. Hmm. Hmm. So that's the way it started. And he's like, I'll absolutely do that. And then I'm up there at the American Century Championship, and you guys were like, he just shared everything about what's going on with his leg and his knee. Right. And it was great. It turned out to be the number one watched video on Rich Eyes and Show YouTube page for the month of July. Right? And so you guys also say that he showed up with the crutches, right? Yeah. And he showed up with the brace. Moving very slow and very gingerly. And so that happened. and then all of a sudden we see on Saturday night in MetLife him coming out with the crutches and then the brace, which tracked, and then he takes him off and starts sprinting towards the stage with his money in the bank case.
15:13Rich Eisen:And Paul Heyman, by the way, very impressive, almost stride for stride from Paul. and then proceeds to just beat the crap out of CM Punk with the Money in the Bank case. And so I text Seth Rollins, and I think we have a screen grab of this, if you don't mind, Mike Hoskins. I text Seth Rollins, your knee's looking pretty spry out there. And yeah, he basically confirmed it with his response. I appreciate your participation. Listen. Was the text. Turned into Gene Wilder from Willy Wonka. In response to me. Amazing. Huh. And that's the way we're bringing Seth Rollins on the Rich Eisen show here. Seth Rollins is here.
16:26we got gold that's right we got gold we got the plate we got on there
16:32Rich Eisen:oh my goodness i wish i could be there so you guys could touch this you guys played an integral role role in this uh in this uh i think they're calling it the ruse of the century right right you know um that's not a bad one um we we have another one right here i think uh we can i'll give you that idea in a second but uh seth um were you hurt when you were sitting in this chair seth well look rich as much as i love you and i love you i love all you guys chris and tj every I love everybody. You guys are the greatest. I cannot divulge my secrets right now. Tonight, tune in to Netflix. We will be live.
17:248 p.m. Eastern, 5 Pacific, live globally. You can hear all of it, but I can't get into too much here. I just wanted to come by and extend my gratitude to you guys and to let you know how much I appreciate you giving me a platform to fool the entire world. There you go. Fool the entire world. I fool the entire world.
17:53Rich Eisen:No, no. Again, like I said, I was aware of your appreciation quite literally a half an hour after you took care of CM Punk. You know, we popped it up. Here we go on the screen. If you wouldn't mind popping it up there. You've got, there you go, your answer. I appreciate your participation. This is about a half hour after you took care of business. That is my emoji. That is accurate. That is an accurate screen grab. No deep fakes. No AI. That's me, baby. Yeah, no, I'm real, Seth. Don't worry. I'll shoot you straight. So, and I went back and forth to, you know, like, this is wild. but then you know any any split sense of me being offended went away when i realized your own child and own wife were kind of in on all of this stuff with the videos that were being put out there by becky lynch right throughout this entire process like this was this is a careful curation you got going on here, Seth?
19:01My wife is an unwilling participant in this ruse. She was very upset with me for making her lie to all of her friends and family for the better part of three weeks. She was very upset. I said, honey, just trust me. The payoff will be great. My daughter, she thought it was a game. She thought it was a fun little game. I told her Daddy's got a Pretend boo-boo Let's put it that way For the next few weeks So let's just keep that on the low First thing she did is went and told her preschool teacher Miss Joy First thing she did And then of course she had to tell me That she told Miss Joy And then she had to give me the classic I told Miss Joy What am I going to do How am I supposed to live my life How am I supposed to get this through?
19:55Okay, come on. Focus. Kayfabe, young Rue. Kayfabe. And here we are. Here we are three weeks later. Nobody went to the dirt sheets or the news. So we're safe. Thank you, Rue. Thank you, Miss Joy. Thank you, Rich Eisen and crew. It was an honor and a pleasure. Oh, please. The payoff was more beautiful than I could have expected.
20:20Rich Eisen:Unbelievable. I mean, honestly, that was all anybody was talking about was Saturday night was was you doing what you did. And in front of the whole world like that. And I guess one you you can call it the miracle at MetLife. How about that? There you go. The land miracle, miracle of MetLife. Any way you want to slice it. That's right. You can do that sort of thing right there. And right. What a shot. look at that man oh man so all right so you're feeling good basically what you're saying i i just try to try to run through here because you were limping around like you were limping around here i'll tell you what i'm saying you're limping i i'll tell you what limping around on those crutches for three weeks was excruciating that was painful because not only did i go and do your show for a few days.
21:14I went to the gym on the crutches. I took my daughter down to Manhattan Beach for some ice cream on the crutches. I dropped her off at preschool on the crutches. I went to a nice steak dinner with my wife and Bianca Belair and Montez Ford with crutches. I did it all on crutches. And I'm telling you, it was excruciating. The crutches alone were painful. I thought I was going to get a shoulder injury, a real one. Get surgery, go down to Birmingham legit. So, yeah, it was a task. I was getting very irritable. My wife was putting up with me being grumpy. It was a tough one. But we pulled through, man.
21:56We did it for the greater good. For the greater good.
21:59Rich Eisen:And, you know, we're honored to be part of it, Seth. And, you know, again, the seat is yours when you want it because we did have the logo of the show. I changed it. There it is, the Seth Rollins show. I hope you don't mind the next time you come to sit for the chair, we've got a new logo for you. It's called the Liar Liar Pants on Fire Show. Okay. All right. Make sure to trademark that for me. All right. I love that. You got it, Seth. We've got to get one. We've just got to get a new little silhouette man with a brace and some crutches. That's what we got. We got that for you. You got one for Seth before you let him go?

22:36I'm just going to question, Seth. as someone who sat here and believed in the ruse, who got up and walked your crutches to you when I thought you were hurt. You walked his crutches, Sue? I got up and made sure he didn't have... You made him walk his crutches to you, Seth? He didn't make me. I felt I was obligated because the knee was hurt. I felt like his crutches were a distance from him. So after each show, I went and grabbed his crutches. And I'm okay with all of that, Seth. You know that. But my only question is, man, and this is going to determine a lot. You said to us, you looked me right in the eye, and you said, I had pizza and a cookie.
23:05And I got a note. Did you lie about that? Did you really have pizza and a cookie? Oh no, I had three weeks off, baby. I had more than a pizza. I was doing it all. Everything I could get. I had pizza, I had sushi, I had cookie, I had tacos. My daughter discovered Taco Tuesday during this stretch. She didn't know about Taco Tuesday. She saw a little Pete the Cat video on YouTube. They were having a big Taco Tuesday. She said, I want to have Taco Tuesday. So we had Taco Tuesday every week. you know what her taco of choice was she wanted a steak and bacon taco oh way to raise them up right stuff yes i i did it all man i went full full throttle all right all
23:49Rich Eisen:right uh great to see you looking all spry um you know and um and we're honored that you used us then i'll just leave it at that just honor that you used us because again uh you must have gotten a bunch of texts from people with like WTF. You, you, you played us too. You must've gotten a few of those. Yes. To all of the folks out there who played a small role, the TJs who handed me the crutches and those who opened doors and, and, uh, you know, held open doors and, and made a, you know, the lady who pushed me in the wheelchair at the airport, everybody played a small role in this wonderful endeavor uh your additions are appreciated thank you from the world champion from me to you thank you guys we did it this is for the people not just me for the people and no matter how bad i feel i mean it can't be anything compared to cm punk so i get it you know i got it i got it hey karma is a b-word man karma is a b-word come back to get you well uh i'm glad there's no a c and l uh in this whole process seth i'm glad that you're good and um and you're uh you're you're gonna be out there and uh barclays tonight um and we'll see what's going on on netflix which you can see right here on roku thanks again brother congrats again you guys are the best you guys uh that's the uh summerslam rollins himself yes the uh the champion and the host of the liar liar pants on fire show right here on the rich eyes and program there he is That's wrong.
25:26Burn it down. Let me tell you something. That was so awesome. When that music hit on Saturday, man, it was just, and the man's supposed to be a hill, right? You're not supposed to get that type of reaction, but he got the pot. The money in the bank will cash in. We'll always have that happen. But man, it was incredible. It is incredible. It was incredible.
25:48Rich Eisen:All right. And our appreciation, Akbar, Banja, Biamila and Matt Iceman for chilling in the green room while we're waiting for Seth Rollins to toddle his way to the Zoom. We have been hoodwinked, bamboozled, led astray, run amok, and flat out deceived. Rich Eisen here. We talk a lot about battles in sports. Teams battling through adversity. Athletes fighting for every yard. The toughest warriors I've ever seen, though, aren't on the field. They're kids fighting cancer. They're families standing beside them. Doctors, nurses, caregivers. That's why I'm proud to support Hyundai Hope on Wheels. For over 28 years, they've helped fund pediatric cancer research, raising more than$303 million and supporting over 40 ,000 children.

29:00And now it comes full circle. He's out here in Naxa, who, by the way, is in the middle. I think at that point he had completed over 90 obstacles in a row starting his career, which is unheard of. You just don't do that. And so it was just incredible. The thing we said was this was a departure in the past. And Akbar and I are up in the host tower. And we just kept going, this is the best season ever. We absolutely loved it. The storylines that came out in the races were incredible. and the performances were insane. Yeah, this ain't your uncle's Ninja Warrior. This is a totally different finals.
29:32So, you know, so many people are used to going up against Mount Midoriyama, seeing the Ninjas going up against Mount Midoriyama, these massive obstacles, but that's not going to be the case. This is really going to mimic what so many of the fans and the consumers are really into, which is seeing side-by-side racing, and the stories are great, but the competition is even better. It's like Matt and I were having a hard time even just keeping up. I mean, it just felt like every single thing that was coming out of our mouth was an onomatopoeia. That's how exciting it is. Wow.
30:04Rich Eisen:Way to drop the polysyllabic word right there. He's got a kid studying for the SAT. I know that. No, I know the family. I know the Vajabiamila family, and I know everyone in your world as well. Everyone's smarter than the next. So in all seriousness, though, do you guys get the course explained to you? unveiled and then you see the sort of evil at work? Yeah, we see like even going on, we're now just, again, this morning we heard about season 18. And so pretty soon we'll start getting some images of the obstacles and some videos of the testing. But until we assemble them in Las Vegas, you don't have all six or ten obstacles together.
30:45And so usually the night before we'll go out, we'll walk the course with some of the course designers and some of the testers, and they will tell us, hey, this is how, this is challenging. Here's a mistake people are making. And so we're watching it. But until the actual, when the runs start happening, you never quite know what's going to happen. So we're learning about these obstacles in real time too, just as the athletes are. And you know what I started doing? I started, you know, in the beginning of my career, I would like overstudy. I wanted to know everything about the obstacles. And I said, you know what?
31:17what if I just started studying it the night before? And then once I got to the course and what I find for me is that it allows me to stay in the moment because when you see it in real life, you start to understand the scale of it. And then I already start making, I think it's a natural human thing. Like ain't nobody going to do that. That's too hard. Oh man, all these ninjas are dropping on this one for sure. Right. And then you get there and then the excitement and the energy is real. I think with Matt and I, what we have is the energy is real. Cause you're looking at like, damn, I actually didn't think anybody could do it like that.
31:50I've been calling this new season, especially what you're going to see starting tonight, televised speed. Because it is just like pure adrenaline. And you saw with RJ and Naxa, because they're going head-to-head, these ninjas are pushing themselves in ways and doing things they're not even sure they can do because they know if you slow down, if you give the other athlete a chance, your season could be over.
32:09Rich Eisen:So I just find it, and it's just like any other athletic achievement or competition. It's the stories of the people that you're trying to root for or what have you. And that's another neat part about this. And you just mentioned how somebody from the juniors is now competing here. On the pro level. And here's a great story. So Naxa Garamore, he was adopted by a family from, I believe it was Guinea-Bissau. And then they went back a year later to get his brother, who was another kid who was in the orphanage. and Roberto, and both of them competed on Ninja Junior and Axis continued, but it's this amazing story.
32:49And I remember on their shirts, they had this thing, family is thicker than blood. This idea of it doesn't matter where you came from, it matters the family you're with. And it's that beautiful thing. One of the great things about Ninja Warrior that I think, unlike a lot of competitions, which tend to be very cutthroat, zero sum, I win, you lose. This is a show where everyone comes together as a family. And I think it's one of the things that appeals to so many people who don't like traditional sports. I grew up playing football, basketball, and baseball, but a lot of kids, they don't like that.
33:18And so for Ninja, you find this home for people where it doesn't matter if you're just starting out or you've been doing it for 20 years. Once you show up, you're a Ninja. Yeah. And the stories are great. I think that's what, you know, we see that with the NFL. The NFL has great storytelling. Ninja does the same thing and you get so invested. I think this is what we're even starting to see in the WNBA as well. The storytelling and you get so invested into the stories where you just start to watch. And then once you start to watch, you start to see the talent and everything that's in it. And for Ninja, with the stories that we have this year, plus the excitement, what do you call it?
33:50Televised speed? Televised speed. Well, and I know what he's doing with this. He's about to call out Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese and say, come settle your differences on the course head to head. Okay, I'm trying to agree. I can tell you who's going to win that one. I'll tell you who's going to win that one. Caitlin Clark. Yeah, Caitlin Clark. Yeah, you probably thought I was going to say Angel Reese, didn't you? Listen, they're passionate fan bases, and based on what they're throwing on the court right now in the WNBA, I don't want to run afoul of those fans.
34:21Rich Eisen:That's called topical. We appreciate that. And we had Noah Laws in there. Our guy Noah Laws, man. So maybe Noah and Tyreek could do it there. Oh, that would be a good one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That one Tyreek loses. He's a little too meaty in the thighs. Okay. So I don't know that he'd be able to. A little too meaty. Yeah, meaty. Too heavy. Yeah, too meaty. Now that I'm hearing, you know, how an American Ninja Warrior Jr. is now with American Ninja Warrior, do we maybe go American Ninja Warrior Senior? I appreciate you looking at me for that, Rich. No, no, no. I'm that guy. Well. I mean, so can we.
34:59Rich Eisen:People ask that. Where the course becomes a little, you know, it's not as challenging, right? It makes sense, but we had a 73-year-old get through two obstacles on the course this year, which is one of those things. Look at Rich's eyes. I don't know what kind of geritol they were taking, but it is incredible when you see these people who keep themselves that healthy. His dentures stayed in, too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. John Louie. He hit the water a couple years ago, and his dentures just flew out. It was epic. You got to go back and watch. It was epic, but this dude doesn't quit. He just keeps coming back.
35:34I mean, this dude isn't on any like hormonal therapy. He just comes out there with just straight ninja grit, you know, like, okay, it's a it's a it's a thing.
35:42Rich Eisen:And here I thought it would just be a competition just of seniors. Right now, you're saying we already have seniors. We have seniors. We're all inclusive. I'm sorry. I missed it. Did the dentures float? No, they actually sunk and he had to go in. He had to actually go in and go get it and pull it out. He was bobbing for dentures. We tried to have it as a spin off show. It really didn't take. And you know another thing. Whose job is it, by the way? I'm sorry, I'm fascinated. Whose job is it to fish that out? Ain't nobody touching the hair. That's not sanitary. That's exactly how to handle the dangers.
36:12There's no official scuba divers of American Ninja Warrior? Do you remember that in the Olympics, they had the guy who was running around getting the swimmers caps in the pool who was in a very slow speedo. So we actually have him coming out for this year.
36:25Rich Eisen:I'm fascinated by this sort of stuff. I've had professional Olympic swimmers on this program, and I ask questions like, what's that little pool by the big pool for? When you know how you... Yeah, is it heated? Is it? Is it? A little hot tub, I thought. Is it a little hot tub? Without the bubbles? You just go get loose? That's a good question. I'd crack one open in there, which is obviously not what Olympians should be. Rich, that's why we're behind the microphone, not competing. Crack one open. That's what I would do. I'm sorry, you were saying. No, no, no. I was... My brain went to March Madness.
36:57You know, March Madness, we've seen the brackets. This year, we're having our own bracket. It's called Ninja Madness. And you get to follow along this season and watch as the Ninjas start to place in the playoff system that we have going. And you get to call your shots, too. He's like, who do you think is going to advance to be the final four? Who do you think is going to get down to the final two? It is going to be one of those ones that I think everyone's going to participate in a different way. But we haven't had that before with the Ninja Madness. And we always make predictions, and our brackets were busted very early on.
37:25You never know who's going to win. It really is. I mean, just like the real much madness. Perfect.
37:31Rich Eisen:Dude, so did you guys work together on the first one? When did you guys get teamed up? No, I ain't that old, Rich. He's been there since the beginning of time. That was unnecessary shots fired. He's been there since the beginning of time. Back in his day when it was black and white. We did it on the Telegraph. It was sent to Moscow. He didn't even have teleprompter. I'm not even lying. You didn't even have teleprompter when you first started, right? No, no. You guys had it on cards and stuff. Just make stuff up is what they did. I started season two, he came on in season five, I believe. And now we're work husbands together.
38:07We travel together, we do everything together. Our wives are always like, I think you guys are having too much fun together. We gotta play it now.
38:14Rich Eisen:Okay, so you're wearing straw hats in season two. Well that's the crazy thing too. They had a clip earlier. It looked like Coney Island? I had a heavy metal wig on. And it's one of those things like, Rich, you get to see what you look like with a full head of hair. God, I look good. I would have been a rock star front man. I can't sing, but with that hair, I would have been incredible. I don't know what the hell that would have been for me. We get to do lots of outfits. We get to eat. We have an entomologist who will bring us things. Like we ate tempura tarantula. We've eaten grunt worms. We've eaten ants.
38:46It's one of those guys where we want every athlete to do well except him because we have to eat for every obstacle he completes. He's a lovely guy, Eric Middleton. You ate what? Fried tarantulas. We had ants because that was his deal. And so we - His thing is he wants to show anything can be food. And I think my answer is, no, it can't. No, it can't. Just because you can eat it doesn't mean it's food. I prefer chicken tenders. Would you try it, Rich?
39:09Rich Eisen:Hell no. We had a scorpion lollipop. Would y 'all try it? No. No? No, why? It was actually, you know what? Why? Because you don't know - Thank you, Chris. Why? Why? The level of protein in that spider is pretty good, man. No, it's not. Yeah, no, it is. Actually, you've had whey protein. You've never had spider - You let me eat it. I tasted it. I tasted it. Yeah, you did. Explain to me again why this was part of American Ninja Warrior. Rich, we asked the same thing. I think sometimes our producers just go, let's see what we get these two dolts to do. And we do it. We keep doing it. Well, I mean, that's why you're still going into season 18.
39:46Rich Eisen:Yeah. I mean, congratulations. That's a big deal. I don't see Steve Harvey eating tarantulas. Hey! No, he's not. He's absolutely not doing that. He's in Dubai somewhere. By the way, that's what he told us after we shot Celebrity Family Feud. He's like, I'm heading out. I'm like, see ya, peace out. I'm like, where are you going? He said, Dubai. Dubai, yeah. That's what he said. He and his wife spend a lot of time with it. We're going to Bakersfield after this. Abu Dhabi. That's who it was. Abu Dhabi. All right, so Vegas is where you're always hanging out. Vegas is where we'll be. And you've got to come mess with us, man.
40:18Rich Eisen:You've got to come. You run the 40 all the time. Look, here's the thing. Matt and I, Matt, I'm speaking for you. Yeah, I'm your financial guy now. Matt and I will put money and we'll donate it to St. Jude's. You run the 40. You come out on Ninja Warrior. Just step on the course and we'll donate to St. Jude's. Just step a foot on the course? And we want to see Rich run, though. I mean, if you fall, you fall. But I think you can make it past the first obstacle. Which is just what? Those things that you run on, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. If you can make it past that, well, yeah. I imagine that they're banked in a way to make things more difficult, right?
40:52I mean, it's gonna be very it will have it set up. No, no, no, no, no.
40:56Rich Eisen:Don't say that What you're doing run rich run I cover on the course medical insurance, right?
41:06Rich Eisen:Will do that. Okay, all right, of course
41:12Rich Eisen:But the minute where we're swinging from one thing to another I'm toast I'm not doing that You're not doing that just run through the first obstacle in the children for the children. Anything for the kids. We're playing the card. When I say I'm not doing that, I'm not getting past that. Oh, gotcha, gotcha. But you can try it, right? Of course. I'll try it. But just I draw the line at fried tarantula. That ain't happening. It's hard to have you be our negotiator when these things come up. Pull Richey's and see if he would do it. That's the spidey sense you need to get through the course, man. That's the secret.
41:46I will do it.
41:46Rich Eisen:Listen, after seeing you throw first pitch years ago, I will do anything. That was out of net. That was Seth Rollins. He was setting you up for that one. You came from the top rope, huh? Nothing. Nothing's more YouTube famous than that. I was a pitcher in college. I was talking to him the night before he did it. And the last thing I said to him was, you know, if you really want to make a splash, throw it poorly, because nobody remembers a good first pitch. And after he did it, I called him up. I'm like, you nailed it. He goes, it wasn't intentional. That made me run even more. I was trying to show off.
42:2050 Cent look like an athlete. It was impressive.
42:24Rich Eisen:I have a feeling after I throw to this break that we will see Akbar's 30 for 30 first pitch. Oh, no, no. Don't queue it up. They don't have it queued up. No, no, no. They're not ready to. You brought this on yourself, my friend. We are out of time for our conversation. All right. But nonetheless, we'll do it when you're not here. Okay. American Ninja Warrior finals again, beginning night, 8 Eastern on NBC, the next day on Peacock, which means you could watch right here on Roku. and the national finals begin tonight. Akbar, your first pitch in Philadelphia is such the stuff of legend. Yes. That it's received a documentary treatment from the ultimate in sports documentaries. Oh, what? Oh, it has it. Check it out. Wow. What if I told you throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game isn't as easy as it looks?
44:13That many have spent the rest of their lives regretting their trip to the mound. What if I told you a former professional football player who used his speed, strength, and agility was about to have his hard-earned athletic reputation shattered in only a few seconds by a tiny little baseball? I was so fired up when I heard Akbar was throwing out the first pitch. I mean, I had visions of the big man going out there, throwing a frozen rope, and the crowd chanting, Didn't exactly work out that way, though.
44:46I mean, how hard can it be? Rich Eisen threw a strike. That guy's not even a punter.
44:50Rich Eisen:Not even an athlete. Did you see the Philly Fanatics' reaction? That was awesome. From ESPN Films' critically acclaimed documentary series, 30 for 30, it's Akbar's First Pitch. Presented by LensCrafters Prescription Eyewear. Friday at 8 p.m. Presented by LensCrafters.
45:15That was good. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. That's my new favorite movie of all time. Oh, my God. Oh, my goodness. Okay, first off, I'm a huge fan of 30 for 30, and I would like to think of myself as a person that deserves one, but I don't. I think it's just crying over here. Oh, my God.
45:34Rich Eisen:That was amazing. What if I told you? Oh, my gosh. I told you. That was bad. We shall shake. That you participated in this. I thought it was real. I didn't know. Oh, my goodness. That was eight years ago. Just last week. And now they are taking that. Crazy, man. Season 10 of American Ninja Warrior. So there we go. I clown him, and then we clown him again going out the door. Ladies and gentlemen, O'Shea Jackson, Jr. He's here on The Rich Eisen Show. There he is. Good to see you, sir. How are you? What are you shaking your head around? He still hasn't recovered, man. I'm scared to death. About? I don't know if you guys know this.
46:18I'm glad to see everybody's in good health. But Brock Lesnar's on the loose. Uh-huh. Okay. I had to make sure that all my loved ones were okay. It's a wild time right now. Okay. You know? You were there, right? No, no, no, no. You were not there? No. Okay.
46:33Rich Eisen:I wouldn't have made it back here alive. Okay. Keep your doors locked, folks. All right. There you go. Keep your doors locked. Pretty wild moment over the weekend, huh? And then we got roped into it, which is kind of crazy. It's amazing. Because Seth Rollins is a liar, a filthy swindler and trickster. And y 'all are victims. I'll tell you what, man. We're kind of honored to be in that mix. It's pretty great, actually. We've been my whole life to be honored. I went from, wait a minute, hold on a second, to, wow. Think about it. Okay. It's kind of cool. We'll be in the documentary. about this someday.
47:12You think? Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Look, Rich, O'Shea and I are already on Netflix. You guys are in it. Talk to him, DJ. I saw you on Unreal. Episode two. Congratulations. Thank you. You know, it's the No Contest restaurant podcast. No Contest, but we do. I tried to tell you what we were going to start doing. Jelly Roll was talking about us in the postgame show. Jelly Roll was saying somebody from the show told him stuff. I didn't talk to Jelly Roll. I don't know who did. I don't know him. Back to the O'Shea Jackson show,
47:34Rich Eisen:O'Shea Jackson Jr. is here. We're trying to determine who's talking to Jelly Roll behind the scenes. I don't know. Somebody. I had no idea. So that means we gotta get a jelly roll. Oh, I could get a jelly roll. Can we really? Yeah. Okay, let's do it. Yeah, that's my dog. He knows everybody, Rich. It wasn't me. Okay. Oh, okay. Wow. He's on Peacock saying people behind the scenes at Rich Eisen's show are telling me he's limping around and he's got crutches. That's you. I don't know what you're talking about. Seth Rollins is a liar. Seth Rollins is a liar. Did you see the new logo of the show when he hosts it?
48:06Rich Eisen:We got it. Because, you know, we gave him his own logo when he was sitting here on the program, the Seth Rollins show. Gross. There it is. The liar, liar, pants on fire. That's the new logo on the program. Yeah. Chicago Bears, Davenport, Iowa, all of it. Bunch of liars. Oh, man. You're just going straight down the row here, right? Yeah, man. Can't stand it. He was cursing the entire state of Iowa on the phone this year. I had to talk him down. He was Tyrese Halliburton part of that, too. Whoever wanted to get it. I just want to apologize to the people of Davenport, Iowa, because I unfairly called you guys crazy things when Seth Rollins beat CM Punk, and that's my bad.
48:45Rich Eisen:That's your guy, too. I'm not money at all. Together, the first guest in the history of no contest wrestling. That's why we were torn. A two-parter. He couldn't have been nicer coming in here. Yep. He thinks he's the champ, and then all of a sudden. Well, he was the champ. He was the champ. Five minutes. That's what I'm saying. He's got five things. He's sitting there thinking, and then all of a sudden, dude drops the crutches, takes off the brace, and starts beating him with the case. Yeah, that's what happens when you're a liar. You just get away with things. It's crazy. Shout out to Phil Brooks.
49:14And the one dude he hates the most did that to him. No, no, no. He hates him the most. Yeah, yeah. You know, the character. I'm sure Colby's a great guy, Rich. But Seth, I got some things to say on my podcast. No contest wrestling.
49:31Rich Eisen:Yep. Check it out in your ear gate and, of course, obviously, on our YouTube channel, youtube.com slash RichEyesShow. What a show today. We wrap this baby up on the Roker side of things. Every game. We'll talk about O'Shea Jackson Jr.'s basketball team and how it belongs to Luca when we come back. Yes!
