In short

Dan Harris (10% Happier) introduces a “reset” series, then Dr. Drew guest-hosts while Dave Rubin returns after 31 days “off the grid.” Rubin describes the month as his most transformative: reconnecting with friends and family, taking trips (Vegas with elementary-school buddies; 10 days in Greece), and using screen-free time. The episode then shifts into rapid-fire “political news,” “celebrity news,” and “media/health” updates, framed as a search for more positive news amid ongoing controversy.

Guests (and backgrounds)

  1. Dave Rubin: comedian/host of “The Rubin Report,” public political commentator; says he went off social/political news for 30 days.
  2. Dr. Drew: physician and TV/radio host; guest-hosts and jokes about medical “backup” for Rubin’s return.
  3. Nicole Sapphire: physician Rubin meets in Greece; Rubin says she’s up for U.S. Surgeon General.
  4. Other referenced public figures: Scott Galloway, RFK Jr., Dana Bash, Anthony Fauci, AOC, Elon Musk, Joe Biden/Hunter Biden, Kathy Hochul, Caroline Levitt, etc.

  • Rubin’s “off the grid” reduced political rumination; he reports gratitude and positivity.
  • Greece trip included a chance meeting with Dr. Nicole Sapphire.
  • Political segment claims include Spain border crisis involving Morocco, and “Stop Nick Shirley Act” signed by Newsom.
  • Health/media segment claims: Fauci diary/text revelations; CDC/FDA website changes about autism-vaccine risk; RFK Jr. disputes mainstream COVID narratives; Fauci contempt/referrals mentioned.
  • Celebrity speculation: Rubin suggests Dolly Parton died (and references other deaths).

Notable examples

  • Rubin’s screen-free plane rides with kids; kids watch Toy Story 5 and WALL-E (both framed as screen/play critiques).
  • Greece landmarks: Acropolis/Parthenon; “meltemi” winds; beach “file dumping.”

0:36Thank you for being a friend, Dave, but you've been here way too long. Is there someplace else you can crash until September?

0:46I think I know a place.

0:56Dave, you've been eating up all my jello pudding since you got here. You gotta go, man. And don't drink that glass of water.

1:13What? Whoa. No!

1:18Look at you. You've been sitting around this apartment all month. You're contributing nothing to society! Relax, Kramer. I'm back.

1:42I-I can't...

1:49Dave Rubin is back. I am not him. I am Dr. Drew, and I'll be hosting the show today. I have a little mini ER set up in the back with some defibrillator in case Dave cannot quite manage what we're about to deliver on his reentry back into society. I think about that guy that took that weather balloon up into the sky and jumped out and started spinning around. That's going to be Dave today, I'm afraid. There's a lot that happened in August. I have a little PTSD just reviewing the material before I present it to Dave. But, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Dave Rubin. Wow. The video, huh? You said to me right before we started, first, we should tell people, I just walked into the studio three minutes ago.

2:31I barely have said hello to my guys, to you, to anything. Like, I just wanted this and what we're going to do for the next two hours to be as real and present as possible. You said to me 10 seconds before we started, wait till you see this video. It's going to blow you away. I said they should get an award for it. We've been talking about doing that kind of thing for about a year and a half since AI has really sort of become so ubiquitous and everything. That was, wow, primo Joseph. And whoever else on my team did it. Very, very impressed. Wow. Wow. So that's some way to come back. Yeah. But I am back.

3:03I am back. I said to you right before we started, right before that, I said, I don't know if I can do this. Do I know how to do this? And you said, what, be a guest? And I was like, I don't know if I know how to talk anymore. I mean, I didn't speak much for the last 30 days. Well, let me just, I scribbled down a few things, if you don't mind. Yeah, I want to hear all about it. I did it on a piece of paper before we dive into, like, all the political stuff. Well, you actually hinted at me that this was more than just a month off. Like, this was changing in some way. You know, life-changing. Genuinely, this was the best month of my life.

3:32I just had the best, probably most, I don't know that I can fully say most transformative because obviously having kids and that sort of thing. But in terms of 30, basically 30 days of doing what I was supposed to do in my life, I just did it. It started actually a day before I left on July 30th. We pre-taped our July 31st show and Phoenix interviewed me just kind of about what we've been doing here for a while. Right after we did our July 30th show, which was our last live stream, I hopped on a plane and two of my buddies from elementary school, one from kindergarten, my buddy John, who I met the first day of kindergarten, my buddy Ari, who I met in third grade.

4:11We celebrated our 50th birthdays in Vegas and we did three days in Vegas. We've been planning this for 25 years. I remember out of college being like, we're going to do this one day. And we just had, I can't tell you everything that happened. what happened stays in Vegas stays in Vegas but we just laughed for 72 hours straight had great meals dressed in suits at night partied had fun it was just didn't talk about anything serious it was like we were kids again we went we did virtual reality shooting zombies and we were back to our 12 year old selves playing video games it was just incredible so it started off just wonderful with that came home for a couple days.

4:53It was Justin's fourth birthday. It was all Transformer related. And for me, as someone that loved all that stuff growing up, that Justin now loves it. And I did send Connor a picture this morning. That's me as Megatron. We all dressed up as Transformers. We have some Transformer news embedded in the story. So, yeah. So, yes, I don't want to telegraph too much. I don't even know what that... You don't worry. Are they here? All right, we'll leave that. so we celebrated his fourth birthday it was just fantastic and then David and I did 10 Days in Greece which was wonderful I've never been to Greece before Did the kids go with you?

5:30Kids did not go with us for that so Nona and Papa and Ant watched them here and yeah it's important to take a little time away from the kids we love them, I love being with them No, no, no, the relationship requires it Also I spent, and part of the reason that this month was so great is I spent so much time with them, except for these 10 days. It was just such a blast. I'll tell you something fun at the end. But Greece was incredible, absolutely amazing. The islands are wonderful. Went to Athens and saw the Acropolis and the Parthenon. Yossos! Did you learn that one? Wait, what is that? Yossos?

6:06Oh, Yossos is good morning. Yeah, goodbye and everything else. Hello, I love you. But, you know, that's actually the Parthenon on the Acropolis. But, you know, democracy was founded there. We had an incredible tour guide. So that was the only sort of political two hours of my month, really, was history. But it was history, really. So that was just wonderful. And then, so we're at this resort. You're going to really appreciate this because it involves you somehow. So we're at this incredible resort. And, you know, I tell people, people always ask, what do I do during the month? And, you know, usually I'm just sitting on a beach.

6:40And for the first couple of years, I would read a lot of books and all sorts of stuff. But the last few years, I will literally sit at the beach, and I'm just dumping files out of my brain. I think about all the things, all the political things, the cultural things. I think about business things, all these things. And I just kind of go through them, and I think about what can I be better at? What do I not need to think about anymore? What am I worrying about too much? Just all those things. And I literally, it's like a file system. It's hard for me to explain. And I will just stare at the ocean for hours doing it.

7:07So I'm doing this for a couple days. And then one night, we're at dinner at the resort. And it's a really beautiful resort. And one thing we found ourselves very interested in is when you're at a resort, you're at a hotel or something, and you see a family that just seems like they're doing it right. Yeah. Like you just see like two parents that look happy and healthy, kids that look good, everybody's dressed right, behaving properly, no eye pads. So we see this family and they just seem great. We were both noting like, wow, they really seem like they're doing it right. I wonder who they are. What are they all about, right?

7:37I have no idea. Are they European, American, Greek, whatever? Anyway, the next morning, I'm doing my thing. I'm sitting right on the beach. I mean, I literally would take a chair like this, but it was a beach chair. I would put it right in front of the water, and I would just stare at the water for six or eight hours. I kid you not. Like, my feet in the water. Oh, and there's also these maltemmi winds in Greece right now, which are these incredible winds that they get in the summer. If you remember in the Odyssey, remember when they couldn't leave the island because of the winds? Yes. So it was the same thing.

8:05Interesting. The guy, one of the lifeguards there kept telling us, you guys can get in a paddleboard or a canoe if you want, but you may not come back because these winds are so powerful. It'll send you out, but you're probably not going to come back. In any event, I'm sitting there like third or fourth day of just nothing. I'm watching the winds have the sun bouncing off the water. It's just gorgeous. And I'm just dumping files out of my brain. And the wife, who I saw the night before, maybe two days before, comes up to me and she says, Dave, how you doing? And I had no idea who it was. Were you freaked out?

8:37Or you just thought somebody knew you from it? I was so on another plane that, like, I don't know, I thought maybe, I had no idea. Was it a fan? Was it an old friend? Was it? I had no idea who it was. And she quickly realized that I didn't realize who it was. And it was Dr. Nicole Sapphire, who not only has been on my show during COVID, so it's been a while. But as she told me, she didn't realize I was fully off the grid at the moment. She now, I didn't know this, she's up for Surgeon General. Oh, I did not know that either. Yeah. That's interesting. So I think there's going to be some confirmation hearings.

9:09Anyway, we started chatting. I thought, what are the chances in the world that I look at this woman the night before and think, boy, she's living her best life, doing her thing. And there she is. For days, she's been sitting next to me. And then she said to me, she said, we started talking about all the stuff that we do and everything else. And I told her about Off the Grid. And I was like, oh, Dr. Drew's bringing me back. And she said, and I quote, Dr. Drew is a mentor of mine. And I let her take one. That is the one. She sent that to me. Yeah, that is the one piece of photographic evidence. But that is literally the beach that I was sitting on.

9:42And I'm telling you, you can see it in the back, the way the sun was just bouncing off this windy water. It was just absolutely gorgeous. But OK, let me just keep going here real quick. Let me just say Nicole is a wonderful person and an outstanding physician. So one thing I really thought about her was we had a couple conversations. Her husband's a neurosurgeon. her husband's a brain surgeon. They were just great. And partly, I didn't want to go too deep into my political mind, but I was just thinking, this is the type of person that probably doesn't go into public service because who wants to deal with all the craziness?

10:11And she has a good life. So I look forward to - She and I have had a few conversations like that where things have come across her plate and she was like, I don't know. I don't think so. But those are the people we need. Well, I was going to say, you need to get under her skin and go, a country needs you. No, no, she wants to do it. I probably shouldn't say anything else that we discussed or anything else. But in any event, so we do that. Grease was just absolutely incredible. Come back, then my brother has a little beach place, New York area. We did that with my brother and his kids and my parents.

10:43So the cousins all got together. That was all great. And then we're almost at the end of the month. Then I got two nights to take my kids for the first time to my parents' house. Everyone always comes down to Florida. They haven't been to my parents' house. The house that I grew up in that my parents have had since 1979. I was born in 76. Where? In Long Island. Oh, yeah. So we went not only to my house, and my kids got to play in the basement with my old toys that I was playing with back then, literally my Star Wars figures from 1981. Wow. And they're playing with them in the basement. And I took them to my elementary school.

11:17And, you know, just like, it just, I don't know, it just put Lego pieces, just felt like they were coming together. I had this great thing in Vegas with my friends. I had my son's birthday. I had this beautiful 10-day adventure in Greece of just the relaxation part and everything else. Then I had this great family moment. And then I've just had these last few days to be here. I'll just mention one other thing, which is we watch two movies throughout the month. And I don't know if this is happenstance or coincidence or what, but the kids wanted to watch Toy Story 5, which I'm guessing you probably have not seen.

11:50It's just wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. But the entire thing is about the conflict of screens and play and how screens are taking over and kids don't play anymore. And I thought that was pretty freaking applicable to what I was doing. Oh, I should mention the kids also got on their first plane ride. Oh, cool. And we did it with no screens. We managed to do a couple-hour plane ride both ways with no screens. We were really trying to do that, and we accomplished that. And then the other movie, we watched it last night as my last thing before coming back, and then we'll get to everything. We watched WALL-E.

12:22Do you remember WALL-E? I do. from 20 plus years ago again. Very heartfelt. Heartfelt, but about this conflict between what screens and algorithms and bots and all these things are doing to all of this. Anyway, the whole month just felt like it was pieced together beautifully. And I feel like I'm in a great headspace and I'm happy to have done it and happy to be back. Oh, and should I just mention, I did find out one thing, though. Well, first of all, let me just say, before you tell me that, congratulations. Yeah, thank you. are you sure you want to do this? I don't know. I am feeling so guilty already.

12:58First of all, I'm worried that your children are going to lose their father. But secondly, just bringing you back into this is not making me feel very guilty. It's so interesting. I'm sure you feel the same way. It's like, I love what I do. I love it. I love it. I'm excited to be back in all of those things. And then I love this month. I mean, I literally had the best month of my life. So gratitude. Whenever somebody's experiencing gratitude, I know they're in a good place. healthy place. So you're in the best possible place to manage. To be smacked around. Well, gratitude was the word that kept popping up in my head.

13:31I have incredible gratitude for my friends, for my family, for my audience, the guys that work for me, like that I can do this crazy thing. Right. And that my team can too. And I haven't even talked to them about what they've done yet or anything. So the one thing that I'm 99 % sure happened, it's not political, but it is somewhat it said is that I think Dolly Parton died. And the reason I know that is when we were at this, my brother's little beach place, his 12 year old daughter, she's flipping through something and she said something about Dolly. And then the next day, I didn't quite hear what she said, but it was just something that I heard.

14:05But then the next day when we were going to watch Toy Story 5 with all the kids, I opened up Apple TV and the number one movie was nine to five. And I thought that was curious. So I was like, ah, that probably means Jane Fonda or Lily Tomlin or Dolly died. And then the number three movie was Whorehouse in Texas, and then Steel Magnolias. And then I was like, so I can sense that she did that. Yes, she died at Amy. So that's the one thing. I actually was going to open with this at one point. I was thinking, big news. But there were actually three deaths. I'm going to jump ahead to that. So that is quite literally it.

14:40I know nothing about politics. Didn't have any. I had one political conversation, which I'll talk about on the show maybe tomorrow. And I am now yours. There were lots of celebrity stories in this crazy time. Well, we'll wait until we get to it. Don't jump ahead. I'm screwing you guys up. But let me describe what we're going to do. Well, by the way, before I get into it, you know, I had a strange experience in Greece, too. Remember Scott Adams? Yeah, of course. He was years ago. He was talking about going on a vacation of a lifetime, and I was about to go to Santorini. He went to Santorini. And I just thought, he's going to Santorini.

15:14I just knew it. I just knew it. And I go, hey, where are you going? He goes, Santorini. I go, we ended up going to Santorini on the same plane two rows apart and spent the week together in Santorini. I know he was not happy with the stairs over there. I remember that. He was not happy with his fancy place he was staying at. But anyway, Scott was hard to please, to be fair. All right. We're going to do political news. We're going to do election results. Oh, right. And we're going to do celebrity news. Oh, can I just one other thing real quick? one thing that I was thinking about a lot was what are the chances that I could come back to positive news?

15:50That somehow things could, like, somehow we would hit this, like, end of the craziness, and that I would come here and you would suddenly release all this great stuff, like, oh, the Democrats aren't insane, or just like, what? And my gut feeling is there's virtually no chance. That's not to say there's no good news in the world. Of course, there's always new tech and new things and whatever. what people are doing at the micro level, but the chances that whatever you have there is like a slew of good news, it seems almost impossible to me. And that's something that I really want to think about going forward when I'm doing the show.

16:25Like, how do we kind of change that rubric? You know, it's funny you would say that because I've been thinking a lot about that lately, too. We need more positive. And it's interesting you come back with gratitude and positivity and you're thinking about that. Unfortunately, in the meantime, what are the chances? The shit's going down. Okay, all right, let's go. Let's go. But let me start with some good news. My force field is strong. Here we go. There's some local good news. Okay. In this room. Oh. Okay. Which one of your employees is now engaged? I'm going to give you a multiple choice. Phoenix, Connor, Joey, Joseph, Christy, Chris, or Laura?

17:05Well, some of those people are married already, so I can remove them. I mean. I did not know that, but okay. It's got to be Phoenix. It's got to be Phoenix. Is it Phoenix? It could be Connor, but I feel like it's Phoenix. But I'll be happy for whoever it is. Could it be Phoenix and Connor? I think it could be Phoenix and Connor, actually. Look at him. It's Phoenix and Connor. It's Phoenix and Connor? Yeah. Amazing, guys. Look at that. Two each other. That is just wonderful. You see what we do around here? Yeah, that's good news. That's what we do around here. Go to chicks, and that's just fine.

17:37Thank you, guys. That's great. I'm thrilled. Well, I actually, you can ask David later, I did predict that both of them would be getting engaged over August. That was one of my things. I'm thrilled to hear that, guys. Congratulations. All right. Very nice. All right. So I'm going to start with some political news. Joseph, did you get some new shoes or anything? Anything happen with you? Maybe. Look at those. He has a new sweater on. Oh, he does have new shoes. Because he always has cool shoes. He always has cool shoes. There you go. All right. That's good. All right. So I'm going to start with another sort of question for you.

18:10We're going to try to pepper this with a few little exams here and there. True or false, there is still a country called Spain. Oh, well, the last thing when I left, the last thing that was happening was the border was just flooded. And I think, what was it, 30 ,000 people mostly from Morocco came in. Is there still a country called Spain? I mean, literally, yes, Spain must still exist, but maybe it's collapsing. Correct. We were hoping you hadn't paid attention on that July 31st story, but yes. They had to deploy its military, 60 ,000 Moroccans streamed across the border. You'll see this video.

18:53Pretty wild.

19:02And what has been the fallout of this over the last month? the prime minister essentially is like, good, you know. Yeah, he wanted this. And, you know, Théouda, I think they pronounce it, is in a strange little location. It's still on African continent, right? And I kept asking people, what's the history of this? Is there something contentious going on? Apparently not. It's always been something that Spain has just claimed, and they lived well with Moroccans, and now they want to come across. So did they kick those people out, or they're still there? Are they still coming? It's not clear. It's not clear because lots of crime going on.

19:37The people at Theodore are complaining, and the prime minister does not seem to be... Am I getting this story right? Am I misrepresenting anything? I mean, I remember a story, you know, a year ago they were saying this guy, he wanted to bring in new voters. He fully admitted it, so that doesn't surprise me. He is as good as his word. So there is still a country for the moment. Okay. All right. We're going to start to move into August now. Okay. This is with political news. Nick Shirley was attacked and chased at knife point by an invader who is trying to stone him in Theoda. Take a look at this.

20:08This is a crazy situation right now.

20:15Do you think it will take vigilantes to actually make a difference here inside of Europe? I'm the first vigilante here. They're going to fear me.

20:25Do not like dogs.

20:34Watch out, watch out, watch out.

20:40Now we got people throwing stuff at us.

20:48You know, it kind of reminds me of the no-go zones that Sweden had for a while. Which they told us didn't exist, and of course they did in Malmö. And they have made a significant turn. I don't know if you saw that before you left, but Sweden is coming around. So, thoughts? Nick Shirley. I mean, well, he's great, and he gets out there. Oh, no, wait a minute. He's not so great, because on August 24th, Newsom signed a Stop Nick Shirley Act. That became law now. It's insane. It expands the state's safe-at-home address confidentiality program, so we can't get at any of the fraud that's going on in Medicare.

21:26Now, the good news, there is good news. We didn't actually prepare this piece, but Oz has been having great success in undoing some of the fraud that's been going on Medicare. He is saving tens of billions of dollars, and so he is still able to make a difference in California. Nick Shirley can't do any more of his work, though, unfortunately. Well, Oz is great, and he's been hitting up all these places. We used to live in Encino, and there were all these strip malls where it was basically, well, you know, it was basically all these empty stores. and it was like, what the hell is going on here?

21:57Look, attacking these people, none of that surprises me. One of the other things I was thinking about a lot over the month is we're about to come up on the year anniversary of Charlie's death. And it's like, why wouldn't these people just continue to do all of these awful things? Well, you're sort of getting at something that's really, oh my God, this show is going fast. We've got a lot to cover here. Okay, okay, okay. But it makes me think about something that I'm deeply concerned about is our government seems to have fought. We've decided that human nature doesn't exist in our federal government, at least the last however many years of federal government policy.

22:34And they put things in place that deny how humans behave. And if you give them certain incentives, they're going to behave a certain way. And why wouldn't they? It's exactly that. Yeah. Of course they will. We've just created all the conditions for just endless, terrible stuff to happen. I guess we have work to do. We have work to do. All right. So far, Nick Shirley getting tagged doesn't surprise me. Spain collapsing doesn't surprise me. I think it's going to be the D story that's going to surprise me, but we're still on B. This is an Elon Musk story. True or false, Elon Musk forms a third party?

23:12I would say, well, he created the America PAC, but he seemed to be coming back to Trump. I guess it would be somewhat disappointing if he did. Put a bet. So I'm going to say false. I would hope that it's false. He's actually preparing to put$200 million into the Republican interest. All right, good. So there's Elon. Okay. Meantime, Zoran Mondani is doing his thing. You know, one of the best parts of being off the grid is you don't think about any of these people. Like, none of the names. Like, I actually, honestly, I don't know that I thought about him once. The names. Even the people that I like.

23:43Like, I didn't think about Trump at all either. Like, you just don't think about these things. That would be normal, right? We don't live in a normal world here. All right, what did he do? All right, so he... Closing all the bagel stores in New York City now? Well, not yet. But here in August 2nd, Scott Galloway blasts Mamdani for the following reasons. Take a look. And when Mamdani, I don't know if you heard this, he released a list of 950 ,000 names or addresses that were subject to attacks. I want to be clear, that was public information. But when you put it out and imply these people have done something wrong, and you already have their tax, you know, you already have their tax filings and you can just tax them.

24:26I'm actually in favor of the Pieta Terra tax. But to release addresses, it feels like in some, implying you've done something wrong. That, oh, I'm going to dox it. They have done something wrong and I want... You know that feeling when too many things fall through the cracks? Monday.com was built for that gap. The AI work platform where people and agents work side by side to deliver more together. Create your first Monday agent today at monday.com. Hey, I'm Dan Harris, host of the 10 % Happier podcast. With summer winding down, now is the perfect time to hit the reset button. So many of us get stuck in ruts at work, in our relationships, in our nervous system.

25:09We've got a special series where I'm gonna be talking to psychologists, meditation teachers, even some comedians about how to get out of that rut, how to reset your life in lots of different super practical ways. 10 % Happier with Dan Harris. Join the party wherever you get your podcasts. I want everyone to know who they are. This feels like just straight up doxing to me. He pulls back from an insight. The old light bulb is dimly going off, which is, oh, if you have money, you're bad. Yeah. We have to identify you to the Politburo. A local Soviet needs to take care of this. Right. Well, I like Scott.

25:49I've had Scott on the show several times. You know, Scott and Sam. Bring him back. I guess that was Sam's prowl. Yeah, no, I've tried a little bit. Scott has described me on the show. I think he said, you're the non-insane conservative. And I go, you're the non-insane liberal. It doesn't even mean anything. Well, I want to see that light go off all the way with him. Well, because a lot of these guys, I would say, I assume that was Sam's podcast. The liberals, whoever remains liberal but not woke. that tiny sliver of people, they seem to never get to the end conclusion. To then be like, I'm for the Pierre de Terre tax.

26:20It's like, all right, okay, so you really do think that what he really needs, Mondami, is more money for more government programs like that? So that's one part. But that's him trying to offer them a little something so they don't behead him too. He got doxed. He was very unhappy about it. Oh, so he was one of the people that got, oh, of course. And by the way, I will agree - Right, am I getting that right? I will agree with his broader point that, yeah, okay, that may be public information, the 900 ,000 people and tax filings and something like that. But yes, they are trying to do everything to create the conditions to scare the hell out of and eliminate, and I probably mean that literally, all of the functional people of New York.

27:04Mamdami, that is very clear to me. Me too. What did Mao do? Mao marched them all out for humiliation. Yeah, and wait till it ends up as it'll be like Dark Knight Rises or Gangs of New York when they have mobs just rampaging through the Upper East Side, pulling people out by their fur coats, and they'll be doing it in the name of the revolution. So I would hope that Scott and Sam and some of the other quote-unquote good liberals who always vote in all of the things that create all of the problems maybe get to the end of the road and realize they're bad guys. Well, here now is some good news. He wants people to get IDs.

27:36Oh, no, wait a minute. He does want people to get IDs. take a look at this. I'm going to pass it over to our EDC head, J-PAC, to add some additional details. Yes, if you look at our RFP for the operator, we are looking to make sure that we target New Yorkers, whether it be at sort of a library card-esque, and also we manage who's buying and that is focused on everyday New Yorkers. So they realized they needed ID to identify who should have access to their free grocery stores, and they keep saying under their breath, it's going to be like a library card. It's not an ID, it's like a library card.

28:12Funny, if it was like a library card, why not make it that easy for everyone to get to vote, in which case then we'd all have ID to vote, but they don't want to deal with that. You know, I almost puked. I almost just choked puked back when I saw him. I haven't seen him for a month, and I started feeling something coming up there. But of course, it's all, I think if I'm going to be very clear on one thing for the next year, having come back now, is that everything, and I I mean it literally. Everything they are trying to do, as I just said, is to destroy everything. That is what they are here, not only to destroy the economy.

28:43Don't burn this country. Yeah, they are here not only to destroy this country, but they're here to destroy the rational mind. They want power no matter what. And that's why I said to you, what are the chances that I could sit here right now and you could be like, you know, on page 37 of this thing, I've got some good news. actually, Bill Clinton wrestled control of the Democrat party back, and they're just like him. Not that he's so great. I miss him. Yeah. Yes. So, yes, good luck to New York City. All right. So, I don't know. All right. So far, kind of standard stuff. August 12th, NYPD refused to provide security for Mdambe's wife during her September trip to Syria.

29:24Good. So they should. Yeah. Why should the NYPD be surprised? What? He's starting to get a little panicky. August 14th, Manhattan rents continue to acclimbe. Oh, you don't say. $7 ,000 a month in his New York City. And then August 30th, Kathy Hochul gets into the game. Here she is at the Islamic Cultural Center of New York. Take a look. Oh, for fuck's sake. Thank you for welcoming me to the Parker family. For fuck's sake. Do they hear our comments during that? I don't know. No surprise. You know, that's like, you remember that lunatic Brad Lander, that pathetic dimmy? I don't. What is he, the controller now?

30:08Oh, yeah. He's this progressive. And he goes to the mosque. He's a Jew, but he's just like this like capo, you know, nothing, little pet Jew. And he gets up there and he's singing like in the Islamic whatever. And then the imam gets up there a minute later and he's singing about kill the infidels. It's like you people all desert. It's all going to hell over there. We better do something about it. I mean, we really better do something about it because it will spread like it has spread throughout Europe. But what is wrong with the progressives? They want power at all costs. They want power at all costs.

30:39However they have to get there, they'll get there. I know. The big tent, Dave. It's a big tent. I heard that a thousand times while you were gone. Except a big tent, as I said many times before I left because they kept saying this big tent thing. A big tent is what Donald Trump created where you bring in some competing interests. Oh, I'm a little more libertarian. and I'm a little more, you know, let's say culturally conservative, but we all love America and we can be in a big tent. That's a big tent. You know, we're going to put aside some differences. It's not a big tent to bring in all crazy people and hack away at the poles that hold the tent up.

31:10That's what these are not bad. The tent poles are coming down. That's a great metaphor for what they're doing. All right, so this is good. You're going to love this. This is my favorite thing that happened this month. It's August 2nd. And RFK Jr. is talking to Dana Bash about COVID and sort of, of course, she's attacking him for being all these things that people like to claim is him. And he has at it. This is very good. Watch this. The job is telling the truth to the American people. I see my job as telling the truth. And the truth is that there is study after study after study. It's one of the most studied things out there in science.

31:48You're repeating it like a parrot. You're repeating it like a parrot. I've actually read the science. Now we know that Fauci, who was the expert, was lying about everything. About mass, about social distancing, about natural immunity, about the transmission from the vaccine. It was a scary time and people made mistakes. You were scaring people. Why are you saying that? Because that was the job of CNN. Yes. Yes. He went on. Preach! I hope this went mega viral. It did. It did. It was, of course, no one in the mainstream saw it. But at least it was on CNN. Yes. And they got a taste of who he is. Oh, well, that's wonderful that that happened.

32:32You know, she, I always make fun of Dana Bash. Like, there's just like nothing there with her. It's just like, you just don't know what these people actually believe. They are just parrots. So that line, when he says to her, you were, this is what you were here to do. Yeah. This is what they were here to do. Why is it, Drew? I am not a doctor. why did I not fall for all this stuff? And I'm not a wizard either or anything else. I just had a little bit of skepticism. And even you, I remember when COVID was still happening, I still lived in LA and you came into my house and you at that time still had a healthy respect for Fauci.

33:04And you, I mean, this has been all part of your red billing, which is well documented over the last couple of years. Well, no, it wasn't well documented because they keep cutting that off of everything I said at the time. They see me pushing back and I'm like, oh, just listen to Fauci, let him be your North Star. right, that is what I got wrong. And that's been kept out of the history. But I also came in here, I think it was this studio, it might have been Los Angeles. And I said, I can't believe anything anymore. And Musk retweeted that a couple of times and said, yep, you get it now. You can't believe anything.

33:32So you can't believe anything. And this is what RFK is really saying. It's nice when things break through that airlock, right? Because the disconnect between the mainstream media and what we do, not to say what we do is all, or what goes on in the online world is also perfect, but the disconnect is so huge that it's nice when something breaks there. Yeah, it's the Overton window being kicked. You just see it, it just opens again a little more. And it gives you a sense of relief, like, oh, we can talk about this now. Speaking of which, this morning, there was something that came out. Nick Hulsher, who works with Dr.

34:05McCullough, he's a brilliant medical, he does medical research, he does publication and stuff. And you were going to put up the ex post that he put up this morning, correct? Okay, here it is. Did I do it out of order, guys? Did I screw you up here? All right. It's about, it's essentially about the fact that... Oh, wow. Yeah, they found that the autism studies, when they really did the meta-analysis, really call into question the probability of autism being linked to vaccines. Wow. And as a result, the CDC and the FDA changed their website this morning. Oh, my God. Yeah. Yeah. So this is all being looked at very carefully now.

34:50I don't want to get too deep into it because I bum-rushed these guys with this one. But it is, again, you couldn't have said that two weeks ago, I don't think. The Overton window is wider open. And I would argue that what we just watched on CNN is part of the reason Nick could publish that study without being condemned. Here it is now. We sent our study directly. Go up to RFK Jr., and he changed the website, essentially. So let's move on to the next study. Wow. All right. Reading yourself, there's a lot there. Nick Halsher, follow him. He's a good follow. All right. So there's more journalism news also.

35:29You'll love this. Weren't there also a couple elections? There were some Democrats? We've got a lot of stuff. We've got a lot to get into. I could jump to that if you want, but I've got a bunch of Fauci news, too. I've got AOC news for you. So I'll try to move it along. Good news. Scott Paley, after he left 60 Minutes, is now at Columbia Journalism School. Yes, of course. Of course. It's Stelter. You get fired from CNN. We knew you would bring up Stelter. I didn't even prompt you on that one. All right, Fauci. August 3rd. The Media Research Center found that legacy media has buried Fauci diary revelations.

36:07Shocking. August 6th, the Senate committee votes to hold Fauci in contempt of Congress. So that happened. August 11th, text release. This was a big deal from Fauci's phone. They got a hold of his text also, right? Not just his diary. Not just his diary. And it showed that he had grave concerns about the potential of miscarriage in the first trimester of pregnancy from the COVID vaccine. He actually had a mechanism he talked about where he says, you know, it causes this robust reaction, immune reaction. And for his trimester, I'm really concerned that could cause miscarriage. The Surgeon General agreed with him.

36:46The head of CDC agreed with him. And he then came around again and said, don't mention this. Horrible. horrible and the legacy media not reporting this and he's the guy's pardoned forever and he's got his government's retirement money forever so I think he's going to still get his 400 grand a year until he's gone so it was the Spain story and the Fauci hearing was the last two things that were happening right before I left but that miscarriage thing was big news it did kind of get around a little bit at least on social media it was around and just the fact that You literally see the text and then you see the media posts like four days later at them going, anytime in pregnancy, you've got to get it, you've got to get it, you've got to get it.

37:30And forcing Michelle Walensky to say that. You saw her backtrack a number of times. I think she actually had good judgment, but she was caving to him repeatedly. Really not good. Todd Blanche confirms he has received a criminal referral from the DOJ for Anthony Fauci. And David Moran, former senior advisor to Fauci, pled guilty to conspiring to hide government documents regarding COVID. There's the tweet, the X post on that. Wow. That sounds like something. And I suspect he may have made that deal in exchange for some information. Yeah. So we'll see what Todd Blanche does with that. I mean, it always comes down to does anybody pay for anything, right?

38:16Like there's all the hearings. That's what everyone was saying and I was saying on the show during those Fauci hearings right at the end of the month. Okay, so he pled the fifth again. We know he screwed up this and that he was lying about this. Does any of it really matter in the end, other than we get more information? It matters for the truth. Right, it matters for that purpose. And whether somebody goes to jail or pays the price, maybe in some sense you have to get over it. Yeah, I'm over it. I want the truth. Because we can't let this happen again, and we can't get at that without the truth.

38:43Todd Blanchett is now confirmed as the attorney general, right? That's correct. Had he been confirmed? I think he had just been confirmed. Okay, so that's in place. All right, AOC, here we go. August 9th, she announced she's freezing her eggs, everybody. Take a look at this. Everyone, Deco and I, day one of freezing my eggs. Let's see, all of this medicine here. Don't be weird about this, even though I know all of you will be. Okay.

39:29that wasn't so bad don't be weird don't want to have sex with me don't be weird oh my god she's such a mess she thinks a lot of herself let's pause on the egg part of it for just a second having not had a phone really for the last month and just not been part of any social media do you throw up again in your mouth Well, just like the idea that people are making all of this stuff public. Like one thing that was, you know, every year I come back, and one thing that I see very clearly is people in these amazing places. You go to the Acropolis and they're sitting at a beach and that are taking selfies the whole time or scrolling the whole time.

40:02It's just insane. But this sort of like, okay, so you're freezing your eggs. I assume that means because she thinks her career is more important and wants to postpone. She's being a role model for women who want to put their career ahead of child rearing. But fine, I'm all for it. But I should also say, you know, this only has like a 60 % probability of success. You know, I don't know what the number is off the top of my head, but it's not 100 % that you're going to maintain your facility. How old is she? Does anyone know offhand? Can we check how old she is? She's probably like, yeah, mid-30, something like that.

40:29I mean, look, obviously I don't have a problem with freezing eggs, and any woman should be able to make whatever choices she wants. I'm very in favor of it. Science has done remarkably magical things that can help all sorts of people. My kids are a product of that. Right. So it has nothing to do with that per se. 36 years old. Maybe it's a little bit like the fetishization of work, work, work, work, and postpone this other part that is so fundamentally important. Careerism. Yeah. Is that, are you reacting to that because she's female? Because I'm going to get into male-female stuff later in the conversation here.

41:05Well, why don't we hold that for a moment? Yeah, because generally women are told to override all their instincts. Right. And all their instincts are bad. and just adopt a male point of view. Well, she's doing, I guess what it is, is she's doing something that seems like it's very progressive, which a progressive woman wants career more than anything. A progressive woman doesn't really want child rearing. A progressive woman wants to live for the cause more than anything. Well, speaking of that, good news is she's leading in the polls for president, at least for presidential nominee of the Democratic Party.

41:39Listen, I found a very remote Greek island that nobody's ever heard of that sounds pretty good right now. Watch her talking. She is one of the progressives that will say anything to get elected. And now she has a new sort of... Oh, she has a new accent? No, a new expression, a new way of understanding where she has been. I have a local city councilman that has this saying, woke one was crazy. Woke one was crazy. Okay, that's so true. And I think that what's important is that we have to assess what a candidate is saying. Was it? I mean, did the movement go too far with some of those positions? I mean, you briefly supported the idea of defunding the police.

42:20Well, I think that, you know, during lockdown, of course, rhetoric in that time is not rhetoric that we would use today. Rhetoric? Rhetoric? People were destroyed by the violence that happened as a result of their rhetoric. You know, one of the things I've been saying for years about these people is, isn't it remarkable that Donald Trump, a billionaire who is orange with that crazy hair and all of the eccentricities about him, that he is more authentic than all of them. She just reads as so fake. Elizabeth Warren reads as fake. All of them, they reek of this faux. They're like, it's not real with them.

43:01You're right. Everything is the quest for power. And also, what's his name? Jonathan Karl. It's like, you briefly supported defunding the police. No, she supported defunding the police for years. The progressive movement supports it now. They are going to release. They are in the process of doing it and will continue to do it. Release criminals out on the streets. We know what that will do. But she's smiling the whole time. I guess her delaying having children is good. She is split from her longtime fiancé. Oh, okay. So was that part, did that happen in August also? That's August 11th. Oh, and when did she release the egg video?

43:37That was August 9th. Oh, so everything is so Machiavellian with these people. So she says she's holding her eggs. They obviously... Yeah, I think he was pretty effeminate and gay. Like, all right. Is that bad? Not that there's anything wrong with it. Yeah, if you're with AOC, it's bad. But, you know, she reminded me... Well, that's interesting, though. So now she can put her whole career, her whole life, can go to her ascendancy to be president. and someone who's accomplished nothing, who is not bright and knows nothing. One of her appeals that she is sort of constantly referring to and offended by is that men are attracted to her.

44:19Maybe being single, they found out, would make her more appealing to men or something. I don't know. Oh, that's interesting. It is interesting. That is an interesting angle. Like, you want to bring back sort of straight men or just not pathetic, limp-wristed losers. You want to bring them back to the Democrat Party. let's dump her probably gay husband. All right, all right. I'm seeing this shit clearly, man. Wow, oh my God. But she reminded me of Kamala in the way she... No, the fake. Some of that stuff. That's what I'm saying. It's this endless fakeness. It's gross. All right, so again, so far nothing's blowing me away here.

44:54Like, these are standard, yeah? Yeah, well, good, good. I'm glad I don't have to use the paddles. But you said some deaths and I still haven't heard any election results, so okay. This comment. Joe Biden's story is August 9th. This is also something that won't shock you. Hunter Biden revealed to the BBC that, guess what, the prostate cancer has spread. It's like, yes, he has fatal progressive prostate cancer. And he has Parkinson's. And the treatment for that kind of prostate cancer makes dementia worse many times. So it's going to be bad. I said he'd be gone in two years. So I'm a little off.

45:28But it's not going to be two more years before he's gone. I mean, I remember when we did actual friends right after they made the announcement with him, and what you said was that the level, you can correct, I'll give it in some butchered language, but there was simply no way his doctor didn't know about it. Well, either... It couldn't have progressed that quickly, basically. No. Either it's malpractice. I mean, it's insane that the President of the United States got that level of health care. Like getting all these checkups. Or it had been going on for quite a little while. Right, so either the doctor, either it's malpractice or just complete incompetence, which it isn't, or they were hiding something.

46:02So none of it's just, you know, it's look, I have very little respect for Joe Biden or the party that he controlled or any of those things. He is a human being and I, so I can have empathy and sympathy as a human being. But that any of this is a surprise that now, you know, it's all going to end this way and the crack addict son will then become the next leader of the party or something. We'll see. Continue. Let's go to some Trump and administrative news. August 11th. He had to hide in a catering container. This is when he was in Turkey. I guess you mentioned this. There was an Iranian assassination threat.

46:41And so they put him in a catering container and changed him from Air Force One to another plane. Here's the video.

46:51That's the catering behind, I think it's behind the plane there where they've got Trump going in. I don't know. It's hard to know what we're looking at here. But the point is, there was a great controversy around this. Oh, this happened in July, but they didn't release it till August. So he's actually in that thing because of an Iranian threat. Well, I mean, the Iranians, they threatened to kill Lindsey Graham. Mainstream press, though, went, he left the press on that plane vulnerable. The press could have been killed by the same assassination. There's nothing more important than the press people.

47:26Yes, more important than the president. He announced on August 12th Caroline Levitt is going to leave as the White House press secretary. That is sad news for all. Did they say why? More time with children. I mean she's young, I guess she has young kids, right? She just had a baby, right? A second baby. Yeah, good for her. She was incredible. She was absolutely incredible. She was a great career. And God bless her. It's impossible. People don't appreciate how much mothers are drained by their kids. There's a case coming up we'll talk about where that is on full display. Well, I would connect that to what I said to you at the top about Nicole watching this woman before I realized it was her, Nicole Sapphire, that I was watching.

48:07It was clearly a great wife. It was just so obvious. Great wife, great mother. Then you see the AOC thing and it's like, delay all that for my endless political career versus the other version of it, which is Caroline Levitt who I actually believe would probably be stepping away to be more with her kids and fought the great fight and good for her. Did they announce a replacement? They have not yet as far as I know. There have been a lot of rumors flying around, but nothing yet. A lot of people have been proposing. I guess I should check my phone. Right. August 16th, Trump is going to reduce future joint military exercises between U.S.

48:42and South Korea, calling them inappropriate and hostile to North Korea and claims they have been threatening and unthreatening and respectful. I don't know what to make of that. I don't know what to make of that. I understand this. Yeah. All right. Well, I'm reading it. I mean, South Korea. South Korea? He's reducing the exercises with South Korea. I mean, that's just like playing good cop with North Korea, I guess. My guess is it's not a real reflection of how he feels about South Korea. What are they doing in South Korea that's a problem? They're not supporting him in Europe. South Korea didn't support him in Iran.

49:19Oh, we haven't said anything about Iran, so I don't even know what's going on there. That's coming. Okay, that's, I don't know, playing good cop with North Korea to maybe, I can't really comment on that. He's doing the art of the deal, I think, in everything right now. August 20th, national debt hits$40 trillion. Thank you, Biden administration. Hey, I'm Dan Harris, host of the 10 % Happier podcast. With summer winding down, now is the perfect time to hit the reset button. So many of us get stuck in ruts at work, in our relationships, in our nervous system. We've got a special series where I'm going to be talking to psychologists, meditation teachers, even some comedians about how to get out of that rut, how to reset your life in lots of different super practical ways.

50:0410 % Happier with Dan Harris. Join the party wherever you get your podcasts. Thank you for jacking that up. August 21st, Trump makes a deal to bring 300 ,000 tons of imported beef to the U.S. to lower consumer cost. American cattle farmers didn't like that so much. Yeah, all right. I can see you can argue it either way. We got to grow it here and make it here and help our farmers here. And then, you know. It's deal making again. August 24th. I'm sure you've done it. You know, when you go to like Whole Foods or something and you look at where your ground beef comes from and it literally will say in one package of one pound ground beef, it'll say, you know, it'll say something like Mexico, Australia, Canada.

50:42Yeah. Like just in that one package. Well, that's right. Ground beef can be dicey. Yeah. I try to buy American when it comes to that. You're making a good point, though, is eat consciously. Read labels. Know what you're putting in your body. August 24th, a sort of a trade war develops with Canada. Trump declares 50 % tariffs on Canadian cars and steel in response to trade talks collapsing. Then on August 27th, he signs an executive order to change the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America. Wow. And it's already changed on all the online sites and everything. All right, Gulf of America, you know.

51:24Isn't that funny? I have no problem with the trade war with Canada. Canada is like a vassal state. And until they... I could... It's all been a slow dribble from Canada, but it seems like it's getting worse, worse, worse. It is. Look, the amount of people... I mean, we're down here in South Miami where the amount of people who were the snow... I always tell the people the story, but the snowbirds that used to come down here just to escape their winters, they don't leave now because they don't want to go back. That's a problem we're going to have, and there's immigration issues. But it's like that country is not really functioning.

51:54Yeah, let Trump mess with him. Who cares? Carney's just, you know, he's Trudeau as like a little more in a better suit or something. August 27th. I'm sorry. August 25th. Trump announced the Navy has cleared all the mines from the Strait of Hormuz. Okay. He warned that any new mines will be immediately destroyed. There was some violence this weekend, right? There was exchange of something. Again, we're all sort of, we don't get a lot of specifics about what's going on. And Trump, when he goes, they bombed the base in Jordan. And of course, we took action in response to that. But he's always saying, there's a deal coming, deal imminent, stand by, and no deal.

52:38Right. Back and forth. So basically, same old, same old with Iran, like just not much happening. It is the same old, same old. And it gets a little tiresome. Yeah. I got to admit, I could see how, I think he's kind of given up on the midterms. It feels like that to me. It feels like that. I mean, that's a very scary thought. I don't know how he gets out of this. Or if he does, maybe he's timing it. I don't know. I feel like there's not enough information to really know what's going on or what the plan is. Just this morning, some guy left the Department of War. Who was that guy? He was Pete Hegseth, Secretary General.

53:12Secretary General is claiming conflict with Hegseth. So something is—we need more information. But not that we necessarily owed it. I mean, they've got to conduct a war here. So, you know, but I don't think we can have a real serious opinion unless we had more information. All right. Well, I guess just not much change there. Exactly. That's what we wanted to tell you. Venezuela is a U.S.-controlled venture now over the oil fields containing 65 billion barrels. These are primarily refinement executives and people who know how to get the oil out and refine it and use it. and it's not entirely clear what the people will get in Venezuela, what the government will get, and what we will get, but we're going to get a good piece of it.

53:53Well, it's got to be better. Including the oil. Yeah, well, look, the people of Venezuela are being screwed under Maduro, so that's great, and if it's good for America, I think that's all good. And it also puts less importance on getting oil out of the Middle East, so this strikes me as all good. I'll take that one, it's good. All right, we've got some good news. Moving in the right direction. August 17th, this is now Eric Swalwell stories. He's back. FBI docs reveal that Swallow confessed to hooking up with Fang Fang while, quote, drugged on Ambien, which is bullshit. Drugged on Ambien? Stop it.

54:25I mean, come on. Well, meaning he was on Ambien? I think so. Or he gave her Ambien. I think he means he was, but I don't know. It's all BS. Swallow confessed to hook up. Yes. So, I mean, literally, I had McCarthy in my studio five years ago telling the story of how everyone knew Eric Swalwell was having sex with a Chinese spy and nobody cared. I kept saying, well, maybe is there anyone else we can tell this to? He's like, well, nobody does anything about anything. And now he's out of government. That's crazy. I didn't know about the ambient. My God, this changes everything. I guess it comes slow.

55:01At least things are going in a certain direction. All right. Well, Swalwell, he's just nothing. He's just like a footnote of nothing. Well, here's something interesting. On August 18th, FBI seized Swalwell's electronics at San Francisco Airport in this investigation at the very gate you used to go to Australia back in October. What? Yes. How do we know that? Because it was... Wow, Phoenix, he actually recognized it again. He looked into it. Wow, I'm glad that I'm not mixed up in this sordid affair. I mean, Swalwell, he was just such a slimy scumbag that I'm not surprised by any of this. And I have no doubt there's a gajillion other Democrats.

55:46Not that the Republicans are all so perfect, but the Democrats are just part and parcel terrible and probably all caught up in crazy things. But that sort of now goes without saying. But what's up with the press marching this guy out three times a day and interviewing him, although he's a legitimate source for information about our government policy? I mean, that was constantly on the television. Well, that's the thing. So it's like, I don't understand. You guys just don't hear. That's the airlock thing that I'm always focused on. How is it that there are so many things that online for two years, we're talking about Hunter Biden's laptop.

56:19We're talking about COVID skepticism. You know, the series, very fine people that for years go by. We're all talking about these things. Doesn't mean we get them all right, but we're at least talking about them. They completely ignore them. They elevate all of the wrong people. And then the people get exposed. We all go, we've been telling you that. And then they pretend that it just never happened in the first place. It's remarkable. I want to go on the record and say that I think that if one of the, Dana Bash or Chris Cuomo or somebody who said, you know, things like a day in infamy, a Russian operative sits in the Oval Office.

56:54Because if one of those people were to say, take 90 seconds on the air and go, I got some things wrong. Here are the things I want to apologize that I got wrong for. There's a reason for it. It's the information I was getting. I will do better in the future. That person would be elevated dramatically in terms of their profile. Probably, but it's not the gig that they have. Like Tapper, to me, is going on a little sidebar here. He got close. He has these brief moments where you're like, oh, you've almost had total recall. You're about to become what we thought maybe you could have been, instead of just being this thing that covers for Biden, then writes a book about it, covers for COVID.

57:32But they can't. Let's put it this way, Drew. Rachel Maddow is not really worth$25 million a year. You're paid for a specific reason, not because you're worth that amount of money. Okay, then. Follow the money. All the money, yeah. I've learned that the hard way. Did nothing bananas happen this whole month? So far? Well, a lot of the bananas is in the elections, which is coming, and the celebrity news. Okay, okay. And finally, I'm surprised there was little on Ilhan Omar, but it was Minneapolis police raided her son's apartment. Guns, ammunition, shocking. The warrant stemmed from an earlier traffic stop involving his roommate who was arrested.

58:14That's his son or his daughter. Yeah. with an illegal weapon found in his vehicle. Omar's son, Adrian, was not arrested after all this, so I don't know what's going on there. I mean, she married her brother, and she's still in Congress. So here we go. Okay. Election results. This is our second chapter here. I'm an hour in. I've got to pick my pace up. So the main one that I'm curious about is the Michigan situation, which I'm sure went horribly, and that lunatic is one of the primary. Well, okay. Let's get to it. I'm going to rapid fire through seven of these. If you need me to stop, please ask me to do so.

58:52I don't think there's any tape. There's one piece of tape. Okay, here we go. This is, oh yeah, the tape is kind of, is a good tape. August 4th, Cori Bush loses again to Wesley Bell in Missouri House Race, who's a moderate. Oh, he's a moderate? That's nice to hear. She's a lunatic. All right, so that's something. These are not, these are not all bad. All right, that's something. August 5th, Abdul El-Sayed beats Haley Stevens to win Michigan Democratic Senate primary. That's terrible. Am I getting it right that he's going around with Hassan Piker? Oh, yeah. Hassan Piker, he is making the rounds.

59:28Awful. It's like the new jihad crew, and I mean that literally. They are here to destroy the country, and that is their goal, and we should take them at their word. I suspect this will be an object of scrutiny for you going forward. What? Him and Hassan Piker. This is going to be something that the Rubin Report is going to be covering for a while. These people are here to destroy America. I don't think we have to mince words about it anymore. And if we want to become Europe, then we should do nothing about it. Europe and with no Supreme Court and no Senate and no police and no prisons. How about we take their word for what they want to do?

1:00:02They all go in to have this purity test with Hassan. They have to sit there with him, and he rifles off 10 crazy things, and they say that they're all for it, and usually six of them are just anti-Israel crazy stuff. It's like, all right, I'll believe you. That's what you're for? You probably shouldn't even be in America. Go do that. Go back home. Say it. Go to Egypt and do it. I want to say that the one reason, the one buttress against us becoming Europe, thank you, Thomas Jefferson, is our state system. States rights. We have guns. We were born in revolution. There are definitely better defenses.

1:00:32America also, our melting pot actually, I think, is a good, even though they're trying to destroy our melting pot, our melting pot actually is an incredible buttress against the ancient hatreds. So there's defenses we have here. That they don't. All right, so I'm not surprised he won. Not good for America. Okay, Sharif Thanedar loses his seat in Michigan's congressional primary. Not this guy. Yeah. Oh, I mean, he's another nutbag. Was it a moderate? Who even knows? But all right, he's just another, like, Muppet character. So goodbye, Muppet character. Okay, here we go. August 12th, Francesca Hong loses Democratic primary in Wisconsin.

1:01:09This is governorship. She admitted to being diagnosed as mentally ill with bipolar disorder. She also claimed that Thanksgiving is painful. She went on about Thanksgiving as though it was invented in colonial, not colonial times, but with settlers. There were some moments of sort of harvest in Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving came after the Civil War. Right, right, right. Towards the end of the Civil War. Yeah, she didn't know any of this, and it was just she made it this weird cartoon thing from the 16th century. In any event. I'm looking at some of the other comments. Her proximity to whiteness, and she has a white son.

1:01:48Okay, good. So this is good, right? And I assume the person who now beat her is more moderate, perhaps? He is more moderate. Wow. Okay. Some things are happening here. Yep. Byron Donald wins the Florida governor Republican primary. Oh, of course. That's great. He has my support. That's totally fine. I think he's a good guy, and Florida is very strong, so that's very nice. August 18th, this young lady wins the Florida Democratic Senate primary. Oh, God. I will not allow you to destroy our democracy. This is a violation of the Constitution. It is. Would you support, on a federal level, therefore rent control?

1:02:32I mean, I definitely would support rent stabilization in certain areas. And how would that differ from rent control? And whatever, tomato, tomato, at the end of the day, there are companies that are inflating rent. So she's saying tomato, tomato, which is yes. You know what? Florida Democrats keep running. I don't know who she is. She has my support as a Democrat in Florida. Run with that. These people, the bullhorns and the screaming, they're children. They are just, I love her. What's her name? We're going to do a lot of episodes about her. I want the Democrats of Florida to support that woman.

1:03:10I love her. Hey, let's put a nod to that gentleman doing the interview. A follow-on question from a journalist. That was shocking. My God. My God. There we are. Okay. Darlene Graham wins in South Carolina, GOP primary for Senate. The sister. I don't know enough about. Oh, this is the sister. The sister of... All right, so that seems perfectly fine. She seems really substantial. I don't know. All right, great. Okay, other election results. August 5th, Kirill Basin was arrested after a bra on the beach. Take a look at this. This is a... He's a Hawaiian, right? Tell me what he's a congressional candidate.

1:03:45A Democrat congressional candidate from Hawaii. In Hawaii. Check this out. This is really good. I'm a child? I'm 40 years old. You should act like it. You should be a brown. You have a pop. What are you doing? What are you doing? Oh, yeah. There you go, bud. I'm so much of a miracle. It's good. Here comes the chair. The wrestling pool. Out. The chair never does what you wanted to do. Did you hear the Simpsons laugh in the background? Yeah. Wake up. Wake up. Yeah. What you f***ing know, Howley boy? Howley boy. I don't know who that guy is or exactly what's going on there, but yes, Democrats, keep running with these people.

1:04:37Have your AOCs and your whatever that woman in the pink was and this guy, keep going. It's great. They have nothing to control them. That's it. Every time an adult will say, guys, this is a bit much, this tent is becoming more of a circus, they will have to take them out. It's beautiful, actually. As long as the country makes the right choice in November. It gets scary. I don't know. Okay. Well, good. I'm glad. It's your positive mental attitude you've come to us with. I know. It can be drained by the next. Well, you're not a cardiac arrest yet. And finally, this is now August 6th. Mitch McConnell discharged after extended hospitalization, but will not be returning to work until fall at the earliest.

1:05:18No pictures of him yet. It's an utter farce. I actually did think about this a little bit when I was doing some of my purging of files. The way they've done this, they've released that one picture of him in rehab. He's working all day. No 80-something-year-old that's in rehab, you know all about this, is working throughout the day and on top of all the things. No, no, no. The rehab is physical rehab from stroke. That's what they're going to do, rehab. Right. Or severe brain injury or whatever. Like he's working. Those other six hours he's working. It's completely absurd. And he spent months in that kind of facility.

1:05:51That is, if he survives to go to work, it'll be a miracle. The only piece of that puzzle that seems odd to me is that Scott Jennings on CNN, who I do like and respect, if you remember mid-July or so. He said he had like a half hour conversation with him and he sounded totally fine. And that just, like Scott, I like. So I just don't know what's going on. But that's inexcusable. Sorry, if you can't be seen on camera and you can't return to work till the fall, and in the fall they'll announce that it's actually going to be the spring, like he's got to step down, but he won't. That's the swamp. That's the swamp.

1:06:26We have been through a lot of the hard stuff because you're going to enjoy the next few stories. Okay, okay. You really are going to enjoy these. These are wonderful. All right. Okay. This is just your July 31st. Are these the death stories? It's a whole bunch of people I don't like? No, no, no. No, this is taking people's... So people on the left like to control language, right? It's part of that power stuff we've been talking about. Because as soon as you go, it's they, the other person's back on their heels, you're now in control. Well, people are now taking that to the logical extreme. For instance, people are saying, wait a minute, this happened at Gutfeld last week while I was on it, which was, wait a minute, if you can't define women or man, how do I know what you're talking about when you say you're non-binary?

1:07:16How do I understand what that is? Yes, absolutely. So that logic is coming forward, but it's coming forward in very interesting ways. So here in July 31st, Sophie Cunningham. Were we covering Sophie? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You love her. You love her. Yeah, okay. So she calls for biological women and women's sports, and her coach, along with the entire WNBA, pushes back, claiming she's not, quote, educated in biology. Okay. So I'm very, very anxious to show you this next bit of tape. Yeah.

1:07:52This is now August 14th. I do an interview with Royisha White. Okay. Another former NBA player who is identifying now as a trans female.

1:08:08It's a former NBA player? Male, NBA player. Royce White. Royce White. I've never heard of him. Okay, he ran for Senate in Minnesota. Oh, he wants to be a woman now. This is how I always said it was going to end. He doesn't want to be. He is a woman. She is a woman. Wow. But his pronouns, because I had to navigate very carefully because he got offended very often. This person got it. Well, it's even worse because the pronouns are pay me. Those are the pronouns. So this is a punk, as we used to... How dare you? How dare you? I'm offended on Roysha's part. Let's go talk to Roysha. Here we are. How shall I address you?

1:08:49Well, I'm sometimes identifying as a black trans lesbian. You can call me Roysha. That's my new name. You've deadnamed me. But it's okay. We go way back. Sex does not proceed from biology. And genitalia does not determine gender. my trans-affirming doctor has recently told me that I could think of my genitalia, that's how it was at birth, as about a little over nine inches of clitoris. So we're in a whole new world. And I ask, what pronouns? And Mauritius says, pay me. He doesn't have to say, pay me, pay me. And I was like, okay, pay. Pay identifies as a trans-lesbian. Well, I now see that he's in on the joke here and that you're, well, who's to say in this crazy world that we live in?

1:09:39But of course that's the end of it. The end of all of this nonsense is that, we've talked about this on Actual Friends, is that a 38-year-old washed-up NBA player who's about 680, 250, who can't score two points a game in the NBA will put on a wig and say his name's Shirley and be the MVP of the WNBA. And then Sophie Cunningham's coach and all the rest of them are going to have to go, this is spectacular, as he's dunking on them and his balls are on their face when he lands. Her balls. I didn't expect teabag. Let's pay his ball or me his ball. Her ball. Well, it doesn't stop there. Okay. Okay.

1:10:20So we're going to have to back up now to August 2nd. That was August 14th. August 2nd, ESPN praises the Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve for her trans shirt. Take a look at this video. Taking a jab at Sophie Cunningham. Well, we see Cheryl Reeve wearing a shirt today in support of trans kids. Trans kids belong on the shirt. This is the aftermath of Sophie Cunningham's recent comments. We actually saw Cheryl and Sophie speaking at center court pregame. and yesterday Joe Reeves spent a lot of time talking at length with the media about this topic. It's so profound having stepped away from this for a month this thing that we're still being hit with this absurd ridiculousness that ESPN and the anchor has to talk about it so seriously she's such a good person because Sophie Cunningham who said that women have vaginas is such a bigot it's so boring and brain-numbing, and if nothing else, that they are destroying, they finally have people paying attention to them in the WNBA because of Caitlin Clark, and they're destroying their product.

1:11:28And that's what the left does with everything. Everything they touch, they destroy, and that is going to be extrapolated across every vertical in society that you can think of. Good luck, ESPN, with that and that woman. What are you saying? The coach, what are you really saying? So you want an eight-year-old boy who's pretending to be a girl to play basketball against eight-year-old girls, and you think that is fair. You're just a fucking idiot. Like, let's just say what it is. That is it. Well, let me jump forward, if you guys don't mind, to Ines Kanter Freedom. Okay, he's a good one. Is he a woman now?

1:12:03Yeah. This person declares for a 2027 NBA draft. They both have put in formally for the draft, and they have lawyers. Wait, Ines Kanter put in for the WNBA draft? Roy Usha did. Both did. Yeah, of course. This is the ending of it. Beautiful. I love it. It's going on. This is exactly what I predicted. Well, it's going to take some work. Good for Enes Kanter. And they kicked him out of the NBA, even though he was averaging a double-double because he was talking against Turkey and some other things. Yes, that's right. So, but Roy Usha and Ines, Enes? Yeah, Enes Kanter, yeah. Have both in for the NBA.

1:12:37Amazing. And take a look at this.

1:12:44After careful consideration and reviewing the current eligibility guidelines, I am officially declaring myself a WNBA prospect. If simply declaring who you are is all that's required, then I meet every single requirement necessary to compete in the WNBA. My team and I have carefully examined the WNBA's eligibility criteria and governing framework surrounding self-identification and inclusion. Based on the current guidelines, I can and am officially declaring my eligibility for the upcoming WNBA draft in May 2027. I am definitely not here to mock, make fun of, or to suspect any community or personal choices.

1:13:21I am simply asking that the current rules be applied equally to everyone. The rules that represent the very values many WNBA players and coaches have publicly advocated for. My team and I are prepared to ensure these guidelines are applied equally, consistently, and without exception. And I look forward to the WNBA honoring its stated principles. So this is this is I love this jujitsu. It's perfect. It's jujitsu, right? You're just going with what they're they put out Everything that they are doing is absurd and he's just calling out the absurdity I mean, that's literally what I've been asking for for years.

1:13:55Let him You don't have to throw on a dress. Why can't a woman have facial hair and everything? Yeah, well, they met he's a WNBA has now met to discuss gender eligibility requirements Unable to determine what a woman is They could not come to an agreement about what a woman is. You know, in that famous moment from, what was it now, four or five years ago when Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee, Senator, when she questioned Ketanji Brown-Jackson about what is a woman, everyone, you know, not everyone, but a lot of the lefty media was like, this is so absurd and this is the republic. But if you can't, as a Supreme Court judge, decide what a woman is, if you can't say what that is, well, you could see why it will matter in serious legal.

1:14:33It's not just the simplicity of the difference of biology. It's going to then lead to all these things. So good. I like the phrase jujitsu with this. Keep matrixing this thing. Stay one step ahead of all of their, they don't believe it, yet they're going to push it on us. So we have to just push back a little more effectively. I knew this had hit a peak. I was in Washington, D.C. and had Corolla on the phone. We were just talking about something. And he goes, we were talking about these issues. and he goes, man, congratulations to them. They even got the Pope today to agree with this. Right, right, right.

1:15:10I mean, wow, look at what they've been able to do with this. You've got the Pope to say that human biology doesn't exist. But that's what you have to, you don't have to respect what they do, but you have to respect their ability to do it. Yeah. I wrote about this in my first book, but in Alien, remember the doctor who turns out to be the android in Alien, when he's got his head cut off at the end and he's explaining to Sigourney Weaver, to Ripley, why does he respect the alien? It killed everyone on board and everything else. It's not that he likes what it did, but he respects that it's accomplishing whatever it wanted to do, and you have to respect that.

1:15:45And that's the thing with them. They're destroying everything, and we can mock them and say all the things we want about them and everything else, but they're doing what they want to do, and we just have to figure out a better defense against that. Congratulations, WNBA. Well, I should. Can I throw in? I'll throw in. 50? I still got this shoulder situation. You got to take a good look at your identity, man. So this story keeps going. I'll just show this video with Inez. You'll see what happens. Six-point basketball game. He shows up in a game. Chicago staying in it. Natasha Cloud. And right before the break, this was the scene inside Wintrust Arena after Natasha Cloud got that bucket, she wanted her voice heard.

1:16:32Wanted her voice heard? We have talked about the conversations surrounding the W. That is Enos Cantor in the building today. And he has voiced how he's felt about the situation. She's a woman and she's pissed at the man who is saying that it's so profoundly absurd. this is good you know like you get it to its end like get things to their volition like get them there and then once they're there then you can wake some other people up he was kicked out of the stadium without a warning which I think that's going to be a suit over that and Natasha Cloud wanted to be heard and just dropped about 30 F-bombs and then yelled Sophie Cunningham is not going to sleep with you that is his intent Right.

1:17:24That's a little AOC-ish in there, right? Yeah, right. Her thing. They all want to sleep with me. All right. This was wild. Do you know Perez Hilton? I met him a few times, many, many lifetimes ago in New York. He was a gossip blogger, basically. Yeah, but I was kind of friendly with him, and he had kind of a spiritual transformation, became a force for good and stuff. He started going kind of back into his old ways, And then he has this unbelievable breakdown. The video went viral. It's now been scrubbed. We're not going to show it. I saw it. It was online for about an hour before it went away.

1:18:05He was out of his head with something. I mean, really, like, in a psychotic or something state. And was slicing himself up with a giant knife. And I have never seen a bloodier scene. And I've been in a lot of emergency rooms. including trying to cut his penis off, which happens when people are in these sort of psychotic states. Not not that he was live streaming this live streaming it. And he was and he was starting to go for his neck when when I saw. And thankfully, somebody came to his aid. Here's a little video on this. The person was being seen taken into an ambulance moments ago outside of a home in southwest Miami-Dade.

1:18:44The sheriff's office says that a man was inside the home live streaming acts of self-harm on social media. A couple of neighbors are telling us that the man inside the home is celebrity entertainment blogger Perez Hilton. But the sheriff's office has not confirmed that with us. The sister has talked about what it was like finding him. She found him in the bathroom locked in there. Finally got him out and she said she couldn't even recognize him. He was so altered. This is what happens in severe psychiatric illness. And it was terrible. It was really sad. He's on a 14-day hold, which is a hold reserved for the most seriously ill.

1:19:23I'll remind people that Britney Spears was on such a hold. So we'll see. I mean, we'll see how he does. I mean, yeah, I don't know. I can't really comment on that other than... Yeah. Well, people got weird. People are like, oh, you deserve this kind of stuff. It's like, stop it. Look at your own soul. Yeah, you know, I remember his blog from way back when. I'm like probably early 2000s and it was sort of the worst kind of But I'm transformed after that and even if he didn't you don't want that type of thing to happen. So yeah, right August 16th that was August 4th August 16 Johnny Depp is thinking about returning as Jack Sparrow and Pirates the Caribbean six this is a tragedy August 16th actress Hayden Panettiere dies of an overdose age 36 Yeah, what Nashville I know the name.

1:20:12Nashville. Oh, I met her once. That's not a good picture. See if you get some other ones up. You can recognize her. Yeah. No, I met her once. There's a lot of rumors about the relationship and her mom and this and that. I would tell people, I've looked at the story very carefully. She did what all celebrities do. 30 days, 30 days, back to work, relapse, back to work. They always go back to work prematurely. That's what takes celebrities out. She then does eight months of treatment at an excellent center and has real sobriety. She lost custody of her kid in the course of all this, which is probably what got her to take it seriously.

1:20:47Doing well. Sounds like she hurt her back. Sounds like doctors put her back on pain meds. Then a bad relationship gets going again, and she's on her way. Yeah, so it's really sad. You'll love this. Harry and Meghan Markle are moving back to the United Kingdom. They can take him back. Did Trump make it happen finally after quitting their royal duties? Yeah. Yeah, I mean, what were they? They were living in Santa Barbara or something? In Montecito. Yeah, yeah. In Southern California, there's swarms of realtors trying to get that property. But I think I read that it's at a dramatic loss to them. They couldn't maintain it.

1:21:23That's what they, on their current situation. I mean, that's actually hilarious. Now they're going to have to crawl back to the crown. And, you know, he's just wrecked his whole family. And she's been the Yoko of the whole thing. like, all right, good luck. Good luck, exactly. Bless their hearts, as Dolly would say. And Dolly, of course, August 25th, passed away. There was a series of three departures. One was Dolly. The other was Tim Curry from... Oh, Tim Curry from... The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I actually thought maybe he passed already, but he was a great actor. He had been living with a severe disability from a bad stroke, and it was sort of...

1:22:02The clock was ticking. Did you ever see the movie Clue? It was based on the board game. And he was in that. He's always brilliant. And he was in Home Alone 2. Comedic actor, like the extraordinaire. Wait, so it was Dolly first. Dolly on the 25th. Is everyone listening to Jolene now? I would hope. All of her stuff is coming back. I would hope. And then Tim Curry. And then who was the other? The family was a little vague about what happened to her. Well, she was sick. I remember stories about her being sick. I met her probably 12 years ago with Fonzie. What's his name? Henry Winkler. Henry Winkler.

1:22:38The two nicest humans on earth. Dolly Parton and Henry Winkler. And it was at an Italian restaurant, and they called me over, and I shook her hand, and I was like, oh, my God, she's so tiny and frail. And that was like 12 years ago. It was like, oh, boy. So we don't know what happened, but they're not being clear. If people haven't seen 9 to 5, watch that movie. That is such an incredibly classic. It's the true feminist. The feminists of today would hate it, But it's the true feminist story and comedy, and it's so absolutely brilliant. And the three of them are incredible. And she was a philanthropist.

1:23:10I didn't realize the depth, the magnitude of her philanthropy. It was really very well placed and well done. Good for her. God bless her. And then also on August 26, the Transformer voice actor Peter Cullen died. Oh, Optimus Prime. Oh, that's sad. Do we know which Transformer? Yeah, he did Optimus Prime. Optimus Prime. I have witnessed their capacity for courage. And though we are worlds apart, like us, there's more to them than... I mean, for me, and now especially because my kids just so love Transformers right now, you know, that's kind of sad. But, you know, nobody lives forever. He's 86. I mean, look, there's a time to celebrate.

1:23:54When people get near and around their 90s, I urge people to celebrate lives because it's coming. Well, they also, in the last Transformers movie, which was animated, not one of the Michael Bay ones, they replaced him as Optimus Prime. So either that was health-related or they, you know, nothing lasts. Your voice changes. Your voice changes. Nothing lasts forever. So that's sad to hear, though. Speaking of nothing lasts forever, the August 12th Lakers are sold to Josh Kushner and Bob Iger. Ooh, that's interesting. $12 billion deal. I hope Jay Moore is happy. He's married to Ginny Buss. Oh, right, right.

1:24:29Josh Kushner and Bob Iger, wow,$12 billion. Isn't that crazy? For the Lakers. Wow, that's cool. Yeah, back in the day when Jenny, Jenny, Jenny Buss? Yeah, Jenny, yeah. Yeah, when her dad was clinging to the Lakers, trying to get them to, you know, become something, and it was, you know, he hung in through the times in which the Lakers were not worth that much by comparison to this. That's cool. I just, I'll punt it for now. Milo Ilianopoulos. There's some news with him. This is August 27th. ICE arrested him and deported him. He is back in the UK. He apparently had a final order of removal by an immigration judge on July 22nd.

1:25:12He failed to show up for that hearing, and he, I think, is now out, right? He's been removed from the country. I don't really have anything to say about him, but people that shouldn't be here, that violate orders and everything else, you shouldn't be here. It It doesn't matter if you're from the UK or you're from Somalia. Law is law. Policy is policy. All right, court stories. There's a bunch of these out here. Some of them would dovetail into the male-female stories that I wanted to get into a little bit. I need a breather. I'm getting a little bit. Okay, we got time. So far, it seems to me the political stories were kind of okay in that the progressives took a couple hits.

1:25:50The Michigan story, or El-Sayed winning, is bad. Everything else is pretty low-grade from what I can tell. It's low-grade, but when you, when you, when the full burden, when you look at it all, it, like, feels like a lot. There's no single story that's going to give you a cardiac arrest, thank God. All right, Luigi Mangione pled guilty to killing UnitedHealthcare worker, CEO, UnitedHealthcare CEO, Brian Thompson. That's very interesting. There's some technicalities in it where he's up for something else in the state, and this makes that case stronger for him. So he's making deals. He's making deals based on what his attorneys are suggesting he do.

1:26:34He's a hero to an awful lot of young lefties. That is not my opinion. That is a fact, and it's a disaster. And hopefully whatever deal he's pulling there hopefully still leads to a long, long, long, long jail time. I imagine there will be interviews one day when this is all done, and I'm wondering if he will talk about mental illness. Because he seemed a little manic to me, and I'm wondering if that's... I mean, probably, right? But we need to blow holes in this hero story. He's a vigilante hero. He's a manic psychotic when I did something crazy. Well, the fact that... Without rehashing that whole thing, just the very idea that you have a problem with the way some company operates.

1:27:13So you think even if it affected you directly that you can then murder the CEO And that that that then gets sort of laundered through the system as oh This guy is kind of okay or he did it for the people or something That is the most dangerous idea you can put in a functional society because everyone has some grievance against somebody Yes, once you say it's kind of okay. I can understand why they might do it Congratulations. Someone doesn't like you. All right. Buckle up this one. Okay, this one has a similar quality to it in terms of saying something is okay that should never be okay. This is August 14th.

1:27:46This all started. This is a crime that happened in 2023. I guess you guys mentioned it but moved on from it. Now it's in trial. Lindsay Clancy, she's a mother who strangled three of her children to death. She did it and then she attempted to commit suicide to herself. She cut her throat and jumped out a window. She's now paralyzed below the waist. I don't know how to start with this. I sort of remember this. Her medical care was very complicated. She was in a postpartum psychosis. I worked in a psychiatric hospital for 30 years. I saw many of these. They're wildly psychotic when they get psychotic.

1:28:27When people kill their children, it's often not postpartum depression, but postpartum psychosis, where they literally feel like they're saving their children from something. She had auditory hallucinations, kill yourself, kill the children. But it was odd. The hallucinations were nine months after the pregnancy and only during the time when she killed her kids. So they're calling into question whether she really was psychotic or was she, you know, in any event, even if she was, should we? I mean, people do violent things. The guy that killed the CEO, the healthcare CEO. People do violent things in altered states.

1:29:02We don't forgive them, particularly if there's consciousness of doing something wrong, which is the legal standard for insanity that you can't appreciate you're doing something wrong. She sent her husband away. She planned it. There was evidence that something was up here. Well, this is the issue that has sort of come up, which she now has tens of thousands of supporters who have raised over a million who are all women identifying with the struggles of this woman and campaigning on her behalf by the thousands out in the streets wearing pink. And on one hand, I get it. I get that this is an issue.

1:29:44Because they want her to be released. Yeah, this is something that all women experience, and we stand for her. Now, she had a lot of testimony. Her family came to her aid, and her husband's family even testified on her behalf. And to some extent, the medical care was culpable in all this. I could get into it if you want to, but medical care was not what I would call good. So they've raised a million dollars for her legal defense. For her legal defense, yeah. It's become the O.J. Simpson for women, okay? The jury is out presently. They are in deliberations. There are nine women and three men. They announced to the judge, I think it was this morning, that they could not come to a decision.

1:30:23Judge sent them back for more deliberation. This is after four days of deliberation. It's one of these things where, you know, here's the interesting thing I'm seeing. Now, you keep an eye on this. Something is going on with young American men, okay? I've been seeing it for a while. I saw it six or so years ago when young men started telling me they were seeing prostitutes. They never said that. They're starting to go to prostitutes. then you're starting to see men say well women don't want me they don't like me they accuse me of being toxic they if I try to buy them a drink they have me thrown out of the bar I mean they really are very you know I feel mistreated so I've given up then they're saying why should I get married even what's in it for me I lose half my income and now they're saying and if she has my kids, you're going to kill them and I got nothing to say about it, I'm out.

1:31:20So men are fleeing women in this country. I don't know how big this movement is but I can see it, I feel it, I see it, I'm talking to them. Well there's definitely empirical evidence on some of this. We know birth rates are low, we know people are getting married later. And now they don't want to get married, period. Or they're going to other countries. This 90 Day Fiance series was prescient. They're going to the Ukraine, they're going to Thailand, they're going to other places to find relationships where they can be treated like another human being. Wow. It's a thing. It's a problem. So the judge sent them back.

1:31:54Sent them back. I think it's going to be a hung jury. I do. I think it's going to be. Right, because put aside mental state, put aside the nine-month delay and everything you just described right there, in the end can you let someone off that everyone admits, that I assume she's admitted to it, right? She has admitted to it. Correct. So even if you grant her all of the postpartum depression all of those things Misdiagnoses by doctors and everything else. Can you say okay? Well this person can just walk now, right? So what are this is why this is really it's messy. So I don't think our moral Sensibility would allow that as I don't think anybody would let that happen But and then she'll be a hero to these women.

1:32:36She already is That's already is And people are saying, well, if the birth that is growing inside you has no meaning, what's the big deal? So there's a lot of weird thinking going on out there. It takes my breath away. It really goes at the core of the human experience here. It's not good. And until we kind of come to terms with that, again, I have hope for the upcoming generation that they're going to look at this and go, I don't want anything to do with this. but they have to decide could she go away to a psych hospital for an extended period of time or does she go to prison they put manslaughter on the potential options now too not just murder one and Megan Kelly told me believe it or not, your friend who I had a nice conversation with I don't know what to do with what's going on there that she could get out of prison more sooner if she goes to prison than if she goes to a psych hospital because the way they're emptying the prisons out and trying to get people out, she could get out on good behavior pretty quickly.

1:33:47So I don't know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, but that's interesting. So there's protests on the street. They're raising money. And yeah, it brings up a whole host of issues that are connected to a lot of the things that we always talk about. So I guess this one's not going anywhere. I think the thing to keep an eye on is what this does to men and women and relationships generally. And I'm very, very concerned about it. All right. August 21st, a judge denies Carmelo Anthony a new trial. Remember that case, the kid that stabbed another kid? Yeah, that seems right to me probably. Well, there's a lot that came out in this trial while you were gone, okay?

1:34:25Let's see how I can present this to you. CBS News uncovered new court recordings that have revealed disturbing details about both the victim and Carmelo Anthony. So Austin Metcalfe is the victim. Metcalfe and his brother, there was a lot of stuff. This was not just some kid that was hanging out at a football game. He had previously received 12 months juvenile probation for spray painting racist and Nazi graffiti. Metcalfe. So the kid who got killed. Including KKK, Kill All Blacks, Heil Hitler, and the N-word. School records show him repeatedly using profanity and calling the teachers the B-word.

1:35:06Anthony's records include allegation that he stalked his girlfriend an hour before killing Metcalf on April 2, 2025, at the track meet. Prosecutors also uncovered text in which Anthony admitted to punching girls, more than one, in the face. and in 2021 discussing robbing someone for$300. So a lot more here than meets the eye. So he's going to jail, basically. Not Metcalf, Carmelo Anthony. I mean, look, I'd need to know a little bit more about the context, but like, okay, you're scribbling all that stuff. You're saying horrible things. You just can't stab somebody. Like, it's as simple as that.

1:35:41People can say horrible things to you. You can't stab someone, but to me, this also brings up the issue that we look at these stories online or on media, we assume we can be judge and jury. We know everything that happens. I feel like it's what I feel about the Iranian war. It's hard to really, we shouldn't really have opinions about this thing until we really know everything about them. One of the things that I thought a lot about, partly, was how do I do this better? How do I do my job better? And one of the things I was thinking about was how do we all, but for me as someone that does a daily news show like you do, how do we react less?

1:36:16Is there a way to do it properly without just reacting all the time? Because everything is just, it's basically like slop gets thrown, right? And some of it's legit and some of it's nonsense and some of it's whatever. There's various levels of slop. And we're just reacting to slop all the time. And I do want to think about how I can do that a little bit better and more maturely and everything else. So that's the type of story I can't. Well, it's funny. I've been feeling the same way. And so I've been heading back towards more addiction and recovery stories. Some of it is because mental health stuff has been up in the news a lot, to paint a pen and cherry and other things.

1:36:53But, yeah, it gets to the point where you start going, I don't want to be a part of all the slop so much. It gets so negative. Well, it's why I love doing Actual Friends with you and Sage and Jillian, because we're kind of just working through a lot of how we have to react to the things. And that's why the show is, I kept telling, I always tell you after, it's like we should call the show Creator Therapy, because it's sort of therapy for all of us to do then the other stuff that we do all week. Yes, and you know when we do I hope people that watch your show watch actual friends also imagine somebody's some of them do But but you know, I just enjoy I'm first I enjoy hearing your point of view about what you know keeps me What keeps my rudder and do new do north but I also Sage is so compassionate and always and then I just love watching Jillian's reaction.

1:37:39Right, Jillian's like, you're there, you're there. I must say, Drew, unless you got a couple bombs for me at this point, it was a pretty... I've got some good news coming now. I've got some good stuff. Everything I have left is good news. Great. Okay. So August 26th, Meta is now going to enforce two-hour daily limits on Instagram and Facebook for children, for certain age groups, as part of a$17.1 billion settlement with 29 states over social media addiction claims. This is great. I can get on board that. The company deciding to do it, not the government, and maybe there's some pressure or whatever.

1:38:23Yes. Trust me, every moment that I watched anyone over the last month stare, as I mentioned earlier, you're at the beach and you're staring at this or the endless scrolling or all that stuff. And that's why I was so proud. We really made sure we were like, we're going to really try, unless it's an emergency on the plane, to not hand them the phone. And thankfully, the plane, we were on the two planes with the kids, didn't have screens right in front. So that made it a little bit easier for us. But that's not endless scrolling. That's just the TV. But there's something really, really rotten. And we all know it.

1:38:53And we have to figure out how to deal with it better. So the company doing something proactively, that seems pretty positive to me. And rotten is the word. and you can just imagine what it could do to a young mind. It's just adolescence. What I like best about this is that they're requiring, as part of the deal, that TikTok and YouTube must also come along. So we're going to give sort of a global... Who's they requiring? Meta announced it for their products. Meta is saying we're going to pay provided that these guys come along. Oh, that's interesting. Well, look, that's capitalism, right? That's then, oh, we're going to do something.

1:39:27Why don't you guys get on board? And by the way, their punishment is far less. I think they had like$4 billion or$2 billion each or something. And Meta's going to shoulder most of the money. And there's actually a whole elaborate set of guardrails they're going to put in place. And I was like, yes. And then you add to that one more thing should be added to it. Take it away from kids at school. They should not have a screen at school. It's crazy. Right. You can make some art or they can have like a simplified phone that doesn't need all the apps, but it could still have, you know, phone and text and map and like the basic stuff.

1:40:02But it's the scrolling. It's the endless scrolling. Well, but it's also texting and sexting and all kinds of stuff in there. Forget it. All right, all right. That does sound pretty good. Jillian hated this deal. She felt that they, we'd covered it on actual friends, and she felt that they were getting away, you know, too easily, and it should be a much more punitive thing. And I'm like, I just want kids safe. Look, at the end of the day, well, kids will always figure out a way around it, right? And parents that want to help them figure out a way around it will figure out that too. So there's no perfect system.

1:40:32But I would say it's directionally right. And it's just your job. I see it very, very clearly after this last month, especially with my kids. It is your job. That relationship that they are going to have with that device that did not exist when you and I were born and that didn't exist when I was 20 years old, that managing that relationship properly is almost the most important thing that you'll be able to do for their mental well-being. And if they're mental and spiritual and in some sense physical, it's all of it. So, yeah, that's directionally right. But let's discuss that on Actual Friends with them further.

1:41:12Yeah. I have a brilliant psychologist friend. She's also a lawyer. She was deaf behind whatever. But she specializes in adolescent females because they're so complicated. that you just have to stay within that one domain. Can't call it a gender. What are we going to call it? But adolescent females, and she only allowed her kids two hours a day of carefully supervised screen time, and she had to fight every day because, of course, at school, everyone was, you know, I have a screen. And now her kids are very successful and are suppressing gratitude. Thank you for not doing that. I see what it did to my friends.

1:41:47I mean, if for no other reason, just to give your... Forget what the endless scrolling is doing and forget all the awful things they can see and all the terrible interactions. And again, you'd really love Toy Story 2. They really did a mature, brilliant story about that relationship with the child and the device. One of the lines, I'll muck it up slightly, but it was something like one of the toys is realizing how they're being replaced by the iPads and all this stuff. Oh, interesting. So that's basically what it's about. And then the kid's relationship between this new technology and their old toys.

1:42:17Interesting. And then one of the toys says something like, well, at least she's playing on there. And then the other toy is like, no, she's not playing. She's playing games. What our job as toys was to give them imagination, let them really play. And I see so much of that, again, for the last month where I've been with my kids all the time, like building forts and the crazy worlds that they go to. And in the pool, I'm the monster and I got to get like letting their brains do that instead of just, OK, well, yes, you are playing a game, I suppose. You're on a device and you're looking at it and there are rules and you are tapping and playing.

1:42:52But that's not play. No. And what that does for the human mind, even for adults, too. It's not just, but particularly for those brains. You're 100 % spot on. And the more we are aware that that is true, the better our kids are going to be. I misspoke. I have a tragic story. And then we'll go back to good news. Okay. There was a terrible flood in Nepal, a massive, like, destructive flood. Here is the pictures of what happened here. It was, I mean, it's unbelievable. Oh, God. Oh, yeah, it was bad. That's just one little area of a massive area of destruction. This is other, you know, other views.

1:43:35There's a million pictures online of all kinds of horrible things happening. The aftermath reminds you of 9-11 with the walls of missing people pictures and missing looking for, you know, it's just. Oh, my God. Yeah, it's unimaginable. It just goes and goes and goes and goes. How many people? 3 ,000 now. 3 ,000. 3 ,000 missing. But I think it's going to be quite a bit higher than that. I mean, you see the magnitude of this thing. So what this was was a glacier that broke loose way upstream, way up the mountains, that landed in a dam, I guess it was, that then broke loose. And it just unleashed this torrent, massive torrent.

1:44:12Immediately becomes a climate change story. It's because the glacier's melting. Well, give me the whole quote here. Never let a tragedy go to waste. Yeah, this is from Dr. Matthew Wylecki, director of the United States Global Change Research Program. The story has changed. The initial headline was glacial collapse. Satellite analysis now shows that the major failure was a massive bedrock collapse beneath the glacier. This is fundamentally a geological mass failure event evolving bedrock, mobilizing the ice and rock and sediment way downstream, not a glacier is spontaneously collapsing because of warming, although people immediately went to another climate change disaster.

1:44:55And even if it had just been, I think I can say this with pretty good precision, even if it had been that a glacier broke for whatever reason, that doesn't mean it's climate change in and of itself. Glaciers break, they rebuild, they freeze. Endless, everything's politics, everything fits into the thing that I want it to fit into. Am I over time here or am I still good? You're perfect. I'm good. Okay. Because the next story is kind of fun. But I do want to talk about climate change really quickly. Do we agree that the worth is warming a little bit? It's kind of warming. We're in a warming trend.

1:45:29Yeah, basically. We've been in a very cold time. It's kind of warming. Do we have anything to do with it or can we do anything about it? Is this massive question that people just treat it like settled science the way Fauci settled the vaccine science. Right. Well, I would say, let's go on the assumption that it is trending upward a little bit. The idea that A, humans could do anything, or B, that people like AOC with her Green New Deal, that someone who's never done anything, never accomplished anything, she's made drinks at a bar, and I've been a bartender. It can be complex sometimes. But beyond that, she's never done anything.

1:46:03That you would let her rejigger the world economy in the name of stopping natural processes is so profoundly absurd. And at the same time, they hate the guy who's doing more good for the environment and building underground tunnels and sending us to light. I keep saying that if Elon wants his ultimate revenge against these people, when all the ones that AOC was saying 10 years ago, the world has 12 years to go somehow. Now she's freezing her eggs. It's a little bizarre. It's like, all right, how about Elon just announces, you know what, if you're one of the people that's constantly threatening me and going after me and trying to destroy me, you can't get on the rocket ship when the world ends.

1:46:39You know, that would be the ultimate comeuppance. I think the ultimate comeuppance is something he's been talking about a lot in August, which is he's going to put the power up in the space. We're going to have power supplies on the moon. We're going to have power in the space. We're going to send it back, and that'll be that. And I saw in the earlier thing about, I think it was in the Iran thing, Trump mentioned something about space force. I mean, we're able to now see an ant on a molehill in the middle of the Sahara, and wars will be fought up. Like, everything, that's the positive stuff that's changing.

1:47:07The world is going to be fundamentally different. We've got to slog through the end of whatever this phase is that we've been going through. Well, there's paranoia about AI now. That's another thing they're taking aim at. And mind you, if they have success, China's just going to sweep right in with that. You know, fire can burn people. It doesn't mean you shouldn't use fire. Exactly. And always with technology, there's bad that comes with it. Of course. You have to manage it. Has there been a lot of that this month? A lot of noise. A lot of noise. A lot of AI is the end of the world and the power centers, what do they call them?

1:47:41Yeah, the data centers, basically. But we've had the data centers for a long time. It's just there's going to be more of them, and eventually they're going to go up in the sky. So let's do it. It's innovate, everybody. They have no faith in human innovation or even technological progress. They just don't believe in it. They don't believe it. They don't believe it. And look, I just told you, we watched it last night. I watched WALL-E. WALL-E is the Disney version of what happens at the end of this when everything is automated and humans become these useless, pudgy nothings. However, that doesn't mean it's true, right?

1:48:12Like it's going to be a tool that you can integrate in your life. Look at how we opened the show. That was the coolest thing I've ever seen. That's my dream, that I was in an episode of The Golden Girls. Like we just did that because of AI. I'm sure there will be other applications for it, but that's good enough. Yes, we'll do more Golden Girl films for you. More Dave in Golden World. Okay, well, the next is a little international news. If you remember, particularly in Germany and France, anybody on the right was the extreme right or the Nazis. What an ultra, alt-right. They had a million names for it.

1:48:41I know. They have a married lesbian with a kid who's running the far-right party in Germany. It's great. Well, now a new poll shows Marine Le Pen in France winning by a massive margin. In a second-round runoff, she would win 69.5 % of the vote compared to just 30 % for Mélenchon, who's the communist, and he's nutty cuckoo. In Germany, Alex Weidel, is that how she pronounced it? Yeah, that's her. That's what I just mentioned. First hundred days, I will close borders, eliminate social benefits from migrants, and carry out Germany's largest deportation. She's winning. She is a married lesbian. She is married to a woman.

1:49:16She has kids. And when I spoke at CPAC Hungary a couple months ago, she was the keynote outside of Orban. And think about it. why would a married lesbian with kids become far right? Maybe she's realizing that her life is threatened by the amount of people they've brought in from other cultures and other religions who are not amenable to her freedoms as a German citizen. And it's the exact same thing we will have to deal with in America and everywhere else. The question always with these people, they all come in talking an awful lot. Maloney did it in Italy and hasn't been great. With Maloney? Yeah, like a lot of them.

1:49:52They come in big and then they don't do a lot. I'm not making this argument, but I think you can make an argument Trump should be doing way more deportations and there should be way more ICE agents and maybe I should be making that argument. The question is, do any of them really have the balls to do the things they say they would do or will we just go through the strange death of Europe, as Douglas Murray talks about, which will then come our way? I've watched the French kind of wake up. They're really concerned that what it is to be French culturally is destroyed. Even if you're in France right now and you close the borders, you still have a gajillion people there.

1:50:25Oh, no, they know it. They are worried about it. So what are you going to do? I don't know. Well, they're going to move in the right direction of how much these... No, no, but I mean literally. What are you going to do? Are you going to really send troops on the streets and you're going to remove these people? Do you think the French people have the balls to do it? I don't know. I don't know what the answer is. You mean like ICE-type deportation? Yeah, like what are you... I think Germany is going to do that. I don't mean you're going to say the right things. I mean, like, are you really going to do it?

1:50:49I think Germany's gonna do it. I don't think I don't think France gonna do that. I'll tell you this I my sister Her my brother-in-law's Israeli They were in Israel for ten days over the month and she told me that the amount of French that they heard in Tel Aviv was Insane that everywhere for little bistros popping up and just French enclaves now because the Jews are getting out of France Well, they if you remember even Macron wanted to get rid of the hijabs at school and stuff that they've been struggling with this for a while Now they're saying that, look, we've never been a race. We've always been a culture.

1:51:20So if you would come along for the culture, you are welcome. If you're not, we're going to have to take care of this. But again, the question is, will anyone ever do it? I get that they can say it. Well, I love Marine Le Pen's rhetoric. She's the greatest rhetorician in the world today. She used to say bad things about her dad, too. And her niece, I think it is, Marion Marichal. She's in the EU, and she's trying to move the EU in a certain direction. I think there's going to be a Frexit. I think there's going to be, you know, Iceland. We didn't report on this story. Iceland is staying out of the EU, right?

1:51:51Isn't that what the story is? Oh, is that right? And there's a lot of movement away from the EU. All right, but they still have to do stuff. And just to highlight a little Marine Le Pen, she always ends every speech with, Vive la République, vive la France. And I was like, oh, I wish we could do that in English. Something like that for the United States. Long live the United States. Long live the Republic. So that is our story. We have no post-game show. Maybe we should look at goals for the upcoming year. You know, what... My main takeaway of the month, outside of some of the personal stuff that I talked about earlier, and just, like, tying pieces of my life together, especially watching my kids play in the basement that I grew up in with my toys, was, like, it was just something that, like, locked something in my brain and heart together in a really, really deep way.

1:52:43but in terms of what I do here and goals and everything else like it's really what I said to you a few moments ago I want to figure out how to be a little less reactive to everything um you know like I haven't been on Twitter yet I just retweeted show promos but I haven't looked at my feed or anything yet and you know the amount of names that I know and people that I know that you can be outraged by or angered by or like I want to figure out a way to separate all of that and I want you know we rebranded the show last year to a show for normal people is the tagline for the show. And what I mean by that is I don't really care what anyone's politics are, but if you're like basically ballpark in the scheme of sane and you like freedom and you like what's going on here, like I really want to help blaze a better trail for that.

1:53:25And I know that's kind of inherently what you and I and a lot of the people that we're part of are trying to do, but I do want to get better at it. I kept thinking, and maybe it has something to do with turning 50 right before August or something, I kept thinking like, I should still be way better at this. I can still get way better at all of this. At life, at my job. No, no, no. I'm not saying I'm perfectly good at it, but I meant everything. You meant tying things together? No, I mean whatever it is my job is, whatever it is that I do. Well, your parent, your partner, and your communicator, right?

1:53:56Yeah, so all, no, but I meant, I mean it like, I kept thinking I could be better at all of those things. I'm pretty good at those things. Yeah, yeah. Everybody could be better at But I really was like, boy, I have no excuse not to be better at all of the things that I do. It was something like that. You stay in your zone of gratitude, and that will come to you. If you start feeling resentful or negative, it stays away. Maybe you could pull it up real quick. It might be an interesting way to end the show. Remember that tweet that Jordan put up when he started coming back in July? He put up that tweet about the spirit of Cain and Abel.

1:54:31Jordan, I think, was retweeting something by Bernie. This is like end of July. Bernie? Sanders. No, not in a positive sense. I might be slightly butchering this. I've been off for a while. He was retweeting something about socialism. Oh. And he basically said, this is just the story of Cain and Abel. And this is what humans are constantly dealing with. That there's going to be certain people that will go out there and do their adventure of life. And then there's going to be other people that will be resentful of it. And that will then try to destroy things. And that really is kind of where we're at right now.

1:55:03You don't even have to pull up the full thing. We don't need to read it. It requires those of us who are ascending to a higher ground to really watch our spiritual rudder. Make sure there are rudders in the water, that we know where we're headed, and that we are fighting for the good. And I would argue that part of the good is the history of this country. It's been an extraordinary moment that we came up with this. Well, you know, one thing I was thinking is I was all year I kept saying that I thought that one of the things that would help Republicans at the midterms was that we were in our 250th anniversary.

1:55:38And I thought there would be a little bit of an extra boost from the summer of, you know, July 4th rolling in. I don't sense that that really is like stuck in a way. But when I went to Athens and you go to the Acropolis and the picture we showed earlier, as I said, I think that's the Parthenon. but obviously the Acropolis is the entire upper area there. And it's literally where democracy was formed. And we had the most wonderful Greek tour guide. And she reminded me of one of my Greek friends' moms growing up. She was just wonderful to describe. And this is where they literally would stand on that rock and vote and all of these things.

1:56:12We need to really know our history better in this country. And if we do, it will defend us from some of these things. Because you mentioned Thomas Jefferson before. and federalism, and I'm always talking about that stuff. But like, there's a whole, I'm glad to see that the month wasn't a bloodbath in a lot of ways, and it wasn't, I didn't miss anything really terrible, and it sounds like I didn't miss great, many great things either, but we just have to be better. Like we are, civilization is, Western civilization is like being tested right now. We gotta figure out how to be better, all of us.

1:56:46Well, I would argue that you have, you've inspired me today a little bit to do exactly that and you've come back with this positive mental attitude and gratitude that is infectious i encourage you to keep it going how about a weekend off the phone drew you can do it a weekend off yeah i do that i do it no i go visit my oh you do every now and again in our little group chat you disappear for a bit yeah yeah yeah no i'm i'm i i don't go off the grid entirely i still feel the the this you know you feel it coming on to you and i have to have patience and stuff so I have to keep in touch with that and I love that it gives me purpose and meaning and I can still give back with that thank God we have the Jordan tweet may read it yeah we probably don't have to read the whole thing but maybe I'll retweet it okay I'll reference it on the show tomorrow all right dive a little bit deeper but listen I have gratitude that you allowed me to do this it's been a lot of fun thank you my friend this was perfect I'm thrilled that you were willing to come down here and do this that you were willing to come to Florida.

1:57:48I know you're happy in California. No, no, no. Listen, by the way, is this a rainy time of year? Because it feels like we're jungly here. Does things grow this time of year? Yeah. I mean, technically we're still in rainy season. It'll end in about a month. All right. It's humid down here. I'll grant you that. No, but it's kind of beautiful. It's special. But I got to take a deep breath because I was like, oh yeah, I like Coral Gables an awful It's a nice Miami's, everyone knows my feelings about Florida and Miami and everything else, but everything's perspective. You know, we're in Greece and I told you about these winds that are going and they're whipping.

1:58:23I mean, they're serious, but the way even they designed the resort was that they put trees in places to defray some of it. We just loved it. Like I'm telling you, I just, the way it was hitting the water, it was like watching this magical show for hours. And I just absolutely loved it. I loved the messiness of it through my hair and everything. I just loved it. And then we heard from some of the people that work there that some other guests were complaining about it. You know, that you should have warned us that this is windy season. And it's like everything's perspective. Like you're on a friggin' island in Greece eating great food, beautiful people staring at the ocean.

1:58:58You're upset about the wind. Like a little gratitude. And, yeah, so I guess I'm full of gratitude right now. Gratitude, purpose, service, virtual connection. however that means for you. Season 14 ahead. I look forward to it. I look forward to actual friends. I look forward to learning more from you this year. And welcome back. Thank you, my friend. Good to see you.
