In short

Dave Rubin frames the NYC mayoral election as a national turning point, arguing Zorhan Mamdani would bring “socialism/communism” and Islamic extremism, trigger a mass flight of residents, and worsen corruption and crime. He interviews former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani and discusses media coverage and related political races.

Guests and backgrounds

  • Rudy Giuliani: former U.S. attorney and NYC mayor (1990s/2000s). Claims he “cleaned up” NYC after David Dinkins and improved security after 9/11.
  • No other guests are interviewed in the provided transcript; other figures (e.g., Piers Morgan, John Fetterman, Tim Walz/Obama/Jeffries, Elon Musk) appear only via clips or mentions.

Key claims

  • Mamdani is predicted to win (cited Polymarket 92%). Giuliani says Mamdani supports defunding police, proposes rent/tax/free services, and is linked to an imam connected to Islamic terrorism; Giuliani claims this would block security clearance and endanger NYC.
  • He argues NYC corruption and budget mismanagement will worsen, and that high earners will flee (citing polls).

Notable examples

Defund-the-police rhetoric; “freeze rent” and city-run grocery stores; comparisons to Venezuela/Cuba; Giuliani references 1993 World Trade Center and 9/11-era anti-terror work; mentions Trump Truth Social about withholding federal funds; cites a New York Post/Daily Mail-style poll about hundreds of thousands leaving.

0:00Previously on The Rubin. Nothing I dislike more than the politician that lies to you. Someone's talking about her. Have some of these rave gone too far. He smashed a window and pushed a lady. Kamala had to run against her own record. Might I recommend, George, next time you're buying some tequila, Copal. Khalil Mossad, Sariya, Wama's Jen. Leave today.

0:42All right, people, I'm Dave Rubin. This is the Rubin Report. It is election day in America. That's right, November 4th, 2025. All eyes are on New York City. And I am thrilled that in about five minutes from now, I'm gonna bring on America's mayor, the single best mayor in New York City history, and a true American hero and patriot, Rudy Giuliani. I could not have a better guest for today. This is a man who cleaned up New York City after the last time they brought in a self-proclaimed Democratic socialist, David Dinkins, back in the late 80s, early 90s. And Rudy cleaned up the city and then his legacy after 9-11 and everything else.

1:23So we will get to all that. I want to hit a couple stories around the New York City election. There's also a big gubernatorial election in Jersey, which if the Republican wins, I sense some of the people who will likely flee from New York instead of all coming down here to Florida. Some of them probably will go to Jersey. But let's stick with New York City for just a moment because joking and sarcasm and hyperbole aside, this is a very, very, I would say, seminal day for the country, not just for New York, for the country. So according to Polymarket right now, the prediction is this, 92 % chance that Zorhan Mamdami will be the next mayor of New York City, a communist, a Marxist, a socialist, whatever you want to call him, with a dash of jihad.

2:10Andrew Cuomo has 8%. Curtis Slilua, the Republican, has less than that. But it does not look good. Piers Morgan, who knows a little something about what it's like to live in a city run by a far-left jihad-adjacent type because he lives in London under Sadiq Khan. He's in New York City right now. He was on Fox & Friends this morning. Take a look. And he's a radical, too. And some of his radical Islamic ties, I mean, y 'all experienced that in London as well. Sure.

2:45Piers Morgan:Look, Obama, compared to Mamdani, is not radical. Let's be clear. I MEAN, IF YOU LOOK AT MAM DARNEY, THE DEFUND THE POLICE STUFF THAT HE WAS OPENLY POSTING, YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE A DISQUALIFYING THING FOR A MAYOR OF NEW YORK CITY. YOU WOULD JUST THINK IF YOU CALL THE NYPD A BUNCH OF RACISTS WHO HAVE TO BE DEFUNDED, IN OTHER WORDS, JUST STOPPED, YOU WOULD THINK THAT PERSON COULD NEVER BECOME THE MAYOR. HE'S TRYING TO PRETEND THAT HE IS, YOU KNOW, A NICE LITTLE SHEEP. HE'S NOT. HE'S A WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING. HE'S A PROPER SOCIALIST WHO'S GOING TO WACK PEOPLE IN NEW YORK. And the day of reckoning will come when he actually has to pay for all this stuff.

3:21Piers Morgan:And there is nowhere in the world where you can point to where actual socialism over any sustained period has worked. Yes, that is completely correct. And of course, the socialist response to that is always, well, socialism has never been instituted properly. Because every time, and the response that you should have to that is, because every time it has started to become instituted, there is death. There is flight from the places that it is instituted in, or at least begun to be instituted in. And the fact that this is happening in New York City, it's one thing when it happens in some of these places in Europe, but that is happening in New York City where Lady Liberty sits in the harbor.

3:59And as I said yesterday, so many of us, our grandparents, great-grandparents, whatever it is, came into this country legally through Ellis Island and had the promise of coming to a free country where they could pursue their happiness. And what were they fleeing in almost every case? Whether they were coming from Eastern Europe, whether they were coming from South America, wherever they were coming from, they were usually fleeing communism and socialism and this is now what is about to be voted in by the people of New York. Then when you throw in the dash of jihad, and we only need to look at some of the other cities across the world that have done this, like London, where there are mass stabbings all the time, where there are terrorist rallies all the time, where you walk around and you wonder what city you are in, and then when you add a dash of the fact that Zorhan has repeatedly said defund the police, when he wants things to be free even though nothing actually is free, when you want to freeze rent, thus you stop landlords from wanting to actually rent things or builders to come in to innovate and build new things.

5:06City-run grocery stores. I mean, Lord, go to Venezuela or Cuba and see what's going on over there. Every single idea is wrong, and yet it is being sold to you with a guy with a smile, with a guy with the lo-fi music in the background, and the soft lens. So just two quick videos here from John Fetterman before we get to Mr. Mayor. Fetterman, who again, it's just wild. The man who had brain damage two years ago is now the most sane Democrat. Here he is with Jake Tapper, saying that socialism is not the future of his party. I think that was his way of saying maybe he'll be a Republican soon enough.

5:39John Fetterman:New York City polls show that the Democratic nominee Zoran Mamdani is in the lead for the mayor's race. You've previously dismissed him as, quote, not even a Democrat. And it is true, he's a Democratic socialist. Do you think it would be a mistake for New Yorkers to elect him as mayor. Would you vote for Cuomo if you were a New Yorker or Sliwa? No, that's going to be New York's voice. Socialism is not the future of my party. And if that's going to be their future, that's really up to New York City to decide those things. You know, we all know how socialism works out. Ask anybody that's lived under those kinds of systems all across the globe.

6:23All right. So, Well, Fetterman, what I would say to you is maybe there's a miracle today. Maybe enough Republicans, enough independents, and enough moderate Dems, however many of them are left, will shock the world and then socialism will not be the future of your party. But again, according to Polymarket, there's a 92 % chance that it will be. And once this guy gets in New York City, the most important city in the world, watch how that scales across the country. You know, there's also a Democratic socialist from Somalia, Omar Fateh, running in Minnesota. today. I mean, this could be a really, really terrible day for America.

6:58And for, I mean, our founders would all be rolling in their graves if they could even see that we have fallen this far. But it will be up to you, Fetterman, to decide if you want to stay in that party, which this gets to another clip of Fetterman later in the day. He was on with Jesse Waters.

7:13John Fetterman:Become a Republican.

7:17John Fetterman:Socialism might be taking over in New York City tomorrow, but that's certainly not the future OF MY PARTY AND REMIND PEOPLE THAT NEW YORK CITY'S POLITICS ARE NOT A NATIONAL MODEL. AND WATCH THE KINDS OF CAMPAIGNS THAT WOULD ENCOURAGE HIM TO CAMPAIGN WITH HIM. YOU KNOW, IT'S LIKE PENNSYLVANIA KEEPS PEOPLE HONEST. YOU KNOW, WE'RE VERY PURPLE. AND I KNOW AND I LOVE A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT VOTED FOR THE PRESIDENT. AND NOW THAT'S LIKE IT KEEPS YOU HONEST. to remember that there's two sides and you have to find a way forward. And that's really the future. And that's why I'm proud to be here. Well, look, I wish you a lot of luck, John Fetterman.

8:01I want, even though I am not a Democrat and I don't think the Democrats have any good ideas anymore, and they've purged all the liberals and all of those things, I wish you a lot of luck because I think it would be much healthier for America if there was a sane, moderate Democrat party. But you don't really have to listen to me or listen to Fetterman or anything else. You just have to kind of read the tea leaves, and the tea leaves right now show that they have become a radical party, that the AOCs and the Ilhan Omars are running it, that the Schumers and the T.M.U. Obama, Hakeem Jeffries, they're just kind of on the way out.

8:32I'm gonna leave all of that there. We're gonna talk about Noble Gold for a second, and then I'm gonna bring on America's mayor. Guys, gold has officially gone mainstream every day. Mr. Mayor, America's Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, it is good to see you, my friend. Hello, Dave, great to see you too.

9:38Always great. Yeah, well, it's always great to see you. You are now a Floridian. You reminded me right before we connected. You do not live in New York City anymore. I thought you maybe were keeping your place there as you were moving everything down here, but you have already fled New York City. I think you heard my intro right there. Poly market saying 92 % to Mom Donnie, 8 % chance for Cuomo. How do you, I guess just I'll give you the broadest question possible. I mean, how do you feel on this day? We're hours away from finding out the future of the city that we all loved. We all loved. I don't think I can describe it.

10:16I feel terribly depressed. I feel to some extent like people have said to me occasionally in sympathy rather than in some kind of condemnation. They said all the work you've done has been they've reversed it between de Blasio. Adams tried a little, but was totally ineffective. And now what this guy is promising, it's as if I was never mayor, Bloomberg was never mayor and we never had maybe the best 20 years in our history. I mean, I remember New York City in 1998 being on the front cover of Time magazine as the resurgence of urban America after having been on the cover in 1990 as the rotting of the Big Apple.

10:59I mean, I remember the seven year turnaround. I mean, I guided it. And it wasn't magic. It was just very, very solid, practical policies. And something very important to this, honesty. New York City has been a corrupt Democratic machine for most of 170 years, with a few interruptions where a Republican occasionally wins their own independent. Like, I was the third Republican elected in the 20th century. In the 19th century, New York didn't vote for Lincoln. Boss Tweed is from New York. So we either, I mean, we have been plagued with a thoroughly dishonest government, almost consistently in our history and still emerged as the greatest city in the world.

11:44To be burdened now with socialism. And there's another part of him that's maybe even more dangerous. Islamic extremists. He is a very enthusiastic supporter of Islamists who are dedicated to killing us. I mean, that's remarkable. To socialism, we might be able to work around. A lot of it's got to get the approval of the state legislature. it trump can cut off and defund a lot of it and i think he'll be voted out so i am worried about him on the socialist side but i'm more worried about him on the part that isn't emphasized as much i've never seen anybody as enthusiastically support islamic terrorism as he does the imam that he was with a week or two ago i know him from when i was u.s attorney he has such a long history He is officially considered an enemy of the United States.

12:36Right. He was a non-indicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center. His own imam. Yeah. Yeah. And he's been a witness for Islamic terrorists. He's been very close to being indicted several times. And I think he's under constant surveillance. So his association with him will make it impossible for him to get a security clearance. There's no way they'll give him a security clearance. He will not know the things you need to know to protect the people of New York. They can have to work something out with the police department or something if he gets elected. What does this all tell you about the changing electorate of New York City?

13:16Meaning that people saw a decade that was pretty good under Ed Koch in the 80s. Then they go the other way with Dinkins. And he was really, he in essence was a Democrat socialist. He's the one that largely destroyed the city that led to Rudy Giuliani. You cleaned it up. I remember that vividly. As you know, I grew up in the suburbs, but I had grandparents and great-grandparents and cousins in New York City. We basically didn't go to the city those dinkin' years. They would come to us, but then we could go back in when you took over. But right now, it seems like they're just going with all of the wrong ideas.

13:50What does that tell you about the average New Yorker? You know, when we think of the New Yorker that's out there, you know, dropping the F-bomb every other word and doesn't, And it's like, that cares, that cares. The stereotypical New Yorker, is he just gone now? No, yes, to some extent, yes. There's no doubt the makeup of the city has changed pretty significantly from when I was mayor. But the worst part about New York is apathy. I mean, the worst part is New Yorkers take it for granted. They take it for granted they're the greatest city in the world and it'll always work out. The turnout today is likely to be the highest turnout since I ran against Dinkins.

14:31Since those races, all through the Bloomberg years, they went down and down and down. I think we were at 29 or 30 percent when we reelected de Blasio. I mean, that's absurd. And a lot of the people that stay home are the non-ideological people that would reject the incredible lack of common sense in the left-wing agenda. You know, free buses. Well, who the hell is going to pay for them? Free grocery stores. Who's going to pay for them? Tax the rich. Well, eventually you'll have nobody to tax. And, you know, if we're not there, we're pretty close to it. I know the budget of New York City. I had to memorize it.

15:13I had to spend more time on the budget than crime. the budget in new york city is a complete disaster the one thing adams didn't fix at all is the budget in fact a lot of the reasons for his investigations are that these these contracts will cost in two and three times more in new york than elsewhere which creates a suspicion that new york was operating as it has in most of its 170 years with kickbacks and uh there's no question that zandami whether he does or not uh he's so incompetent among other things the city he'll become even more crooked. They'll steal everything from under his nose, or he'll be complacent.

15:49Right. Well, the only good moment, it seems to me, that Cuomo has had in this entire run has been at the debate a week and a half ago, where he finally called out Mandami for just being flatly unqualified, if nothing else. But I want to read this post that Donald Trump put on Truth Social, because it references something that you just said. He wrote, if communist candidate Zorhan Mandami wins the election for mayor of New York City. It is highly unlikely that I will be contributing federal funds other than the very minimum as required to my beloved first home because of the fact that as a communist, this once great city has zero chance of success or even survival.

16:27It can only get worse with a communist at the helm. And I don't want to send as president good money after bad. It is my obligation to run the nation. And it is my strong conviction that New York City will be a complete and total economic and social disaster should Mamdani win. His principles have been tested for over a thousand years and never once have they been successful. I would much rather see a Democrat who has a record of success win than a communist with no experience and a record of complete and total failure. He was nothing as an assemblyman ranked at the bottom of the class and as mayor of potentially, again, the greatest city in the world.

17:00He has no chance to bring it back to its former glory. We must also remember this, a vote for Curtis Sliwa, who looks much better without the beret, is a vote for Mamdani. whether you personally like Cuomo or not, you really have no choice. You must vote for him and hope he does a fantastic job. He is capable of it. Mamdami is not. Now, the interesting part of that is, if I'm not mistaken, you are supporting Curtis Sliwa, correct? Yes, I agree with the president on most of it. I disagree with him on Andrew Cuomo. I think Andrew Cuomo is the mistake the Republican Party has made very, very often.

17:32In fact, if we had continued that mistake, we wouldn't have Donald Trump. I mean, we got beaten with Barry Goldwater, but we didn't give up our principles. We didn't go endorse Democrats from then on. We elected some Republicans. We lost, but we stuck to our main principles, smaller government, active military, large military. And then we got Donald Trump. For us to build, the most critical thing is for us to build an alternative party in New York. Even before Mondami, New York is a socialist, communist state. Its judiciary in the city of New York is pretty close to entirely corrupt politically.

18:11You saw that with the Trump trials. I can show you 100 examples of that, including my own. And I've been practicing law in New York for 50 years. And the New York Supreme Court has been basically run by the bosses of the Democratic Party for all of those 50 years. I can go on and on. The real core problem in New York City is you have to have an honest alternative to the Democrats. Cuomo will get us halfway there. Mondami may take us there faster. And there's no guarantee that Cuomo won't cave. Cuomo is the author of all the reasons why we have more crime. There were 48 cop killers on the street because he changed the parole laws.

18:54There were about five to seven thousand criminals walking the street that would be in jail if I were mayor or Bloomberg. They're out because of Cuomo signing the law to do it. Cuomo signed the law to kill babies in the womb up to nine months just as they're coming out. And the covid the covid disaster and having to step down in a sex scene and all that. So I don't think anyone watching this has any love lost for Andrew Cuomo. But what would you say to the person that would say, Rudy, Rudy, if Sliwa takes 10 or 12 percent of the vote, that will ensure the Mamdami win, where in essence he has no real chance of winning.

19:32Cuomo is now only seemingly within a couple of points. I mean, what's your counterargument to that? Because I get it on the ideal level, but at a pure political level. It's not. Cuomo is not enough of a difference to abandon the party, because if we abandon the party and we get used to that and we do it too often in New York, we'll have no party. When people say, where's the Republican Party in New York? Well, if you run away from your candidate for mayor, you know what happens to the down ticket? We'll have nobody in the city council. So you got to make a choice. If Cuomo were a better Democrat, if I could justify to my conscience voting for him, I would.

20:10I thought about it, talked about it, have gotten a lot of pressure to do it. As a matter of conscience, I can't vote for a man that I know was responsible for killing so many people. I cannot vote for a man who became an extreme left wing destroyer of New York as governor because he thought he was running for president. And all of the criminal laws that Adams is operating under that are destroying New York and a lot of the country, he signed them, claiming he was a moderate Democrat, but sucking up to the crazy socials left wing of his party. He'll do it again. Yeah, I get it. It'll just take us a long time to get there.

20:49Yeah, it's a terrible choice for everybody. I know you have a long day of media hits today, but I just do want to do one or two more things with you, because I want to talk about the media component as it relates to all this. And you know probably better than anybody except for Donald Trump himself, the way the media lies about things. I want to show you this clip. I don't know if you saw it. This was CNN yesterday. They had Zoran on with Aaron Burnett. And listen to the lie here. It's rather extraordinary. And then we'll show you the complete clip. Donald Trump is threatened by our campaign. He's threatened by because like his, we've diagnosed the crisis in working class New Yorkers' lives, the cost of living.

21:23But unlike him, we're actually going to deliver on that. And that is a contrast that he can't bear to see because while he is spending$300 million remodeling a White House ballroom, the same amount of money that could provide snap benefits for 100 ,000 New Yorkers, he's trying to make it harder for Americans across the country to actually afford groceries. And this money that we're talking about, it's money that New York City is owed. It's not Donald Trump's to decide which city or state will get what money. This is the money that New Yorkers are owed, and this is the money that we're going to fight for.

21:51Mr. Mayor, did you catch the lie there? He says that Donald Trump is spending$300 million on a ballroom. Now, first off, it's all private donors. Yes, I know. I double-checked it this morning. And then he says this is money that New York City is owed. It is a complete fabrication, but I'm not even annoyed with him. He's a liar. We all get it. He's a snake oil salesman. I'm annoyed at Erin Burnett because here is her response, or I should say lack thereof. This is the money that New Yorkers are owed, and this is the money that we're going to fight for. OK, so Trump is not the only one talking about you tonight.

22:19Elon Musk is actually talking about you. What a pair. And he and, you know, and obviously Musk had supported him. Yeah. OK. OK. You just lied to my face. What do you make of that level of lying with the media that she knows he's lying and they simply do not care? In some ways, even worse than Mondami, it makes Mondami possible. She's completely corrupt. The question was an obvious one, no matter what your prejudice is. uh you know mr mandami it's known to everyone that this is being uh this is being done with private money so it's not costing the taxpayers uh anything and also the president doesn't owe new york city anything there are all kinds of rules and regulations uh surrounding this money and everyone knows new york city is the most corrupt city in the world so of course the federal government's gonna have to hold up money i mean when i was when i was a u.s attorney in new york there probably wasn't a government program from the from the great society that wasn't corrupt.

23:14It's the reason I changed parties way back in 1970. I saw the Great Society. I thought this was wonderful. The first thing I'm investigating, half the money is going to Democratic crooks. And that is true throughout. Why did they spend more money on aliens? They spent more money on aliens so they could have a little overage for kickbacks. Just go look at the contracts. New York City, with 8 million people, has the same budget as Florida, with 22 million people. What do you think the difference is? Corruption. And of course, the president has to stop that. In fact, the constitution says he has to make sure the laws are faithfully executed.

23:56If he didn't do it, he could be impeached. So the man is, among other things, highly unqualified. If he were a Republican conservative, they shouldn't make him mayor. He's highly unqualified. He's a child who's not he's a he's a rich boy who's never had a job Probably never paid attention in school Doesn't seem to have much of much of an intellect And he's completely unqualified for maybe I don't know if it's the second most difficult job in America so only one of the ten most difficult and requires Even at a minimum a person of reasonable intellect and integrity Let me play one more clip and then I know you got to get going here because you mentioned or you have fled New York City.

24:39You mentioned the amount of people that will flee and they are planning to come after those people. Watch this. I've proposed is that we raise$10 billion to pay for our entire economic agenda and start to Trump proof our city because we know he'll use federal funding as leverage over this city. And we will do so in two key ways. The first is to match the state's top corporate tax rate to that of New Jersey. We are at 7.25%. They're at 11.5%. Corporations can pay it over there. They can pay it over here. And the beauty of it is that it doesn't just apply to corporations headquartered in New York City.

Read the full transcript

25:14Because when you say this, people will say, well, they're going to go to Florida. Wherever you are headquartered, as long as you do business in the state of New York, you are taxable for that corporate tax. We're talking about corporations that are making millions of dollars, not in revenue, but in profit. And the second is taxing the top 1 % of New Yorkers. We're talking about people who make a million dollars a year or more, taxing them just by a flat 2 % tax increase. And I know if 50 Cent is listening, he's not going to be happy about this. He tends to not like this tax policy, but I want to be very clear.

25:39This is about$20 ,000 a year. It's a rounding error. And all of these things together, they make every New Yorker's life better, including those who are actually getting taxed. It's just evil, Mr. Mayor. I don't even know what to say. And he does it with a smile while he's trying to tax the high hell out of everybody and that he will come after you, even if you are actually not headquartered in New York City? I'll give you the last word here. Well, first of all, it could very well be unconstitutional. Of course, those people have the resources to challenge it. And second, he's going to lose everybody.

26:11New York and New Jersey and California are in a race for who loses the most people. Some years it's New Jersey per capita. Some years it's California. Some years it's New York. It's any guess as to who's going to win this year. I think New York will because of the fear of him. I live here in Florida. You live here in Florida. The best business to be in is the real estate business, a real estate agent. It's hard to get one. They're so busy. And many of them are coming from New York. The flight was terrible before him. I mean, it was a problem for Adams that he wasn't solving. It's intensified tremendously now.

26:47So I don't know who he thinks he's going to have to tax. I mean, I faced this with Dinkins. I mean, we had the highest tax rates, even higher than now. we had 2 000 murders a year as opposed to 400 that we have now and i was afraid there'd be no city left and we hadn't had a new fortune 500 company in 15 years uh we were down to five uh six million people coming to broadway we got it up to 18. i mean the man obviously is a a committed uh communist not a socialist he's a committed communist and as i say the thing to emphasize about him is it frightens me more than anything else. New York City is the number one target of Islamic terrorism in America.

27:28New York is the city that's been victimized most by Islamic terrorism in any American city. When I was mayor, I can't tell you how often we were on alert. We got warnings. One time I came very close to having to stop a New Year's Eve celebration because of Islamic terrorism. And of course, we've been hit by it very, very hard. And here we have a sympathizer with Islamic extremism. You know, you take the Quran and you divide it into the good Muhammad and the evil Muhammad. And some Muslims most hopefully follow the good Muhammad and they cut the Quran off. But some of them follow the evil Muhammad.

28:03Well, he supports all the people that follow the evil Muhammad. And our city is their big target. And I just can't escape the thought that they're putting him in there. I'm sorry, I cannot escape the thought that they're trying to put this guy in there because they could, they wanted New York City. They wanted to hit New York City again. I developed a tremendous anti-terror program. Bloomberg and Kelly made it even better. I can't tell you how many attacks didn't happen, particularly after September 11th. Even before, there's at least a dozen that we stopped. Remember, it started in 93 for us.

28:44And this guy is close friends. He calls that that that that imam. One of the great leaders of the Islamic community. He's he's a he is a absolute advocate of Islamic terrorism. I mean, he refuses to condemn, globalize the intifada. Mr. Mayor, in 30 seconds, is there any chance that at the end of today we will both be smiling? Yes, there's a chance. And, you know, there is a chance because the things he said and the things he's done are extraordinary. So I've seen elections in New York off by, well, my first election, I was behind by 12. I lost by one. My second election, I was down by six. I won by two and a half.

29:29My third election was a landslide. Thank God it was much easier. on me. But I've rarely seen an election in New York with it. I don't think I've seen one with it where the polling is correct. Now, is it enough? Is it enough? I don't know. And then, as I tell you, if Cuomo is the mayor, I probably will breathe a little sigh of relief, but that'll last about 15 minutes because by the time he's finished with New York, it'll be three quarters of the way further the fact that he's the saving grace here is just so crazy mr. mayor i i mean i don't i don't i i actually have great admiration for the president doing this even though i think he's wrong because it would be in his interest for zandami to get elected he virtually assures the congress for us i mean i i i remember in 2010 when we won the Congress with Pelosi before she, we just ran against Pelosi and won the Congress.

30:30We run against him in North Carolina. What do you think is going to happen there? Right. Well, it's just such a crazy thing to think about that in a weird way, him winning causes the Republicans to keep the house because everything, oh God, politics is insane. Mr. Mayor, I am honored to call you a friend. You are terrific. You are one of the very, very best. And I, there are a whole bunch of other things we should talk about because I'd love to hear your take on. Yes, there's a bunch of, there's some other things that we should talk about, right? Exactly, exactly. Well, we will do that over dinner somewhere here in the free state of Florida.

31:05Thank you, my friend, and let's pray for New York. Thanks, Dave. God bless you. I mean, he is a great man. For those of you that don't remember, if you're on the younger side watching this, like if you don't remember what that guy did to, it wasn't just New York. He saved America during 9-11. I mean, trust me, I lived there. We were glued to our TVs every day for weeks. No one went anywhere for two months. I lived on 90th and 1st, which was the polar opposite of ground zero there in the city, right? 90 plus blocks away on the other side. I was on the East side and you could smell the soot for weeks and just the fear that everybody had.

31:42And was this just the beginning of endless terror and that he kept everybody calm and rebuilt that place. On top of the fact that before that, his legacy was already that he had saved the city from crime and drugs and cleaned it up. And Times Square was an absolute disaster. And he fixed that. He is a great, great American. I want to go a little bit more on some of the Mamdami stuff, because we talked a little bit about the flight that is basically inevitable if Mamdami becomes mayor today. And listen to this from the New York Post. Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers are prepared to bolt from the Big Apple if socialist candidate Zorhan Mamdami wins Tuesday's mayoral race, potentially setting the stage for the largest population flight in U.S.

32:23history. An alarming new poll warned early Monday. Around 765 ,000 people of the 8.4 million residents who call New York City home are preparing to leave, with about 9 % of New Yorkers sharing that they would definitely leave if Mamdami is elected the 111th mayor. The Daily Mail reported, citing a survey conducted by JL Partners, if those residents were to leave, it would be equal to the population of Washington, D.C., Las Vegas, or Seattle fleeing the city. Another 25 % of New Yorkers, about 2.12 million, said they would consider packing up and leaving. Among high earners, 7 % of those making over 250 grand a year said they would definitely flee.

33:05Guys, it cannot be overstated how dangerous this is because not only does he have all of the wrong policies, but now if you take, that's 9 % of the people. But let's say that's over. Let's say they're just polling over, right? And it's half of that. So it's basically 4.5 % of the people of New York City flee. These are the earners. These are people who build things. These are job creators. These are people who pay their fair share of taxes. There's never a fair enough share that they want, that the Democrats are willing to take. And then they will bring all of their talents and their skills and their jobs and their families and their law-abiding ways.

33:44And where are they gonna bring them? They're gonna bring them down here to Florida, right? That's where most of the New Yorkers will end up. Yes, some will go to Texas, some will go to Tennessee, but culturally, Florida makes a little more sense, right? And that's where so many New Yorkers, the snowbirds have winter homes already and everything else. Some, if Jersey goes Republican today, will probably just say, all right, We'll just move 45 minutes the other way and we'll go to Jersey. But if Jersey sticks with the Democrat, Phil Murphy, then they probably won't go there either where they are taxed to high hell and everything else.

34:14But this is an absolute pending disaster for the country. But as Rudy points out, in a weird way, if New York City goes down in the most horrific possible way, and he's definitely emphasizing the Islamism point more than the communism point in some sense. If it does, then the focus is on that for a year. And then maybe that allows the Republicans to keep the House. So maybe there is some silver lining there. But is that really what we had to do here? We had to lose New York City so that the country could stay right? Like, it's just such a series of crazy things. Here is Timu Obama, Hakeem Jeffries, trying to explain that Zoran is not the future of the Democratic Party.

34:54But watch how afraid he is of every word coming out of his own mouth.

34:57John Fetterman:For mayoral candidate Zoran Mamdani, do you see Mamdani as the future of the Democratic Party? No, I think the future of the Democratic Party is going to fall as far as we're concerned relative to the House Democratic Caucus and members who are doing a great work all across the country as it relates to our need to both take back control of the House. but in doing so, make sure that we're communicating to the American people like, we understand you deserve better. He is afraid of his own shadow. That was not an answer. You want an answer? Do you think Mamdami is the future of the party? Here's what your answer should have been, Timu Obama.

35:42What you should have said is, Democrat socialism or communism or whatever this guy is selling is not the future of the party. Democrats used to be liberals. liberals are for individual rights and limited government. We do see some more use of government and social programs, perhaps than Republicans do, but we believe in police. We believe in safe cities. We don't believe in sanctuary cities. Like you could have laid out an agenda that could be a positive forward thinking, progressive agenda that Democrats believe in. But instead you just give us a bunch of gobbledygook about how you people need to get power back in Congress.

36:20It's just nothing. You guys, you all deserve this. The good people of New York City who don't vote for it, they don't deserve it, but you guys all deserve it. There's a creator named Nate Friedman who goes out on the streets and he talks to people. And you know that anyone that talks to people, particularly in a blue city, you're going to talk to a bunch of, let's say, not so bright people. And here he is talking to some Mamdani people. I know he's controversial for some. They're saying that it'll force millionaires to go out of the city and they're paying the majority of the tax? What do you say to those people?

36:51I think that's baloney.

36:52John Fetterman:I think millionaires tend to not pay taxes, don't they? They tend to avoid paying taxes that perhaps you or I could not successfully do. And what about the government-run grocery stores? Do you think that that's a model that could work? Yes. I think there's too many hungry people and too many potatoes here that are$5 a pound. Yeah, you've got to lower the prices. Is there anything else about Zoran that gets you excited about him? I'm excited that he gets young people excited and I'm excited to see people standing in line hopefully to vote for something new. Middle-aged white liberals are going to kill all of us.

37:29Look at them in their perfectly new clothes. Can you get a screenshot of that? I know they're just two random people on the streets or whatever, but their clothes are perfect and brand new, right? As if it was from the Jay Peterman catalog, right? And they're there. And millionaires don't pay taxes. Yes, they do. They pay the bulk of the taxes. People on the lower end don't pay any. You just want more of their money. And by the way, look at those jackets. Did he just get that jacket today? She has a lovely scarf that she got. Put it back. She just got the scarf today. They have nice haircuts. They have perfect liberal glasses and sunglasses.

38:05They're perfect people who will be dragged out of their beds when the revolution comes because you guys look like you've got some cash and somebody else is going to want it. So I'm going to guess you guys live on the Upper East Side and you're upset that there are $5 a pound potatoes, but you're at the freaking farmer's market over there. Go to Gristidi's, which is an absolute dump of a grocery store, and you can get a cheaper potato if you want. I used to live in New York City. That's where I used to shop. But you guys, you are going to usher in something that's going to destroy your lives. And that just, it's the perfect affect.

38:41We're just out and about and we have our fancy clothes and we're good people. And we want, you know what, lady, if people are hungry in New York City, how about you give them some of your money? Have you thought of doing that? Or do you only like it when the government comes with a gun to force somebody else to pay for that shit? Because maybe you guys actually aren't nearly as good as you think. Here's a bit more from some of the Mondami-style voters of New York. I think what's really important and standing out for me right now is if we can take ourselves like a high level, like not say immigration, not say economy, not say all the hot talking points, and just ask ourselves, how are we treating our neighbors?

39:21Like, how are we treating one another? And is it okay that yesterday, on Saturday, 42 million of our neighbors no longer can feed themselves. Is it okay that our neighbors are getting taken off the streets by ICE? Is it okay that gender-affirming care is being taken from young people who really need it to survive? Is it okay that the Supreme Court has now justified racial profiling? That's not how I want to treat my neighbor. Lady, just because you want to chop children's genitals off doesn't mean that New York City should have a communist jihadist mayor from a high level. Let's not talk about things like immigration or borders, you might want to talk about those things because the people that are coming in, well, they're not coming in anymore, thanks to Donald Trump, but the people who have come in, you're a perfect target for people like them, right?

40:09You are a perfect liberal urbanite who is walking around without any protection, who they would love to do horrible things to, but you are going to vote it in and New York City, good luck with that. Something good did happened yesterday, which is that Nancy Pelosi is not running for election, or re-election, I should say, which makes you wonder what's going to happen to the children, the children, the children. We'll have more on that in just a second, but first, Morgan and Morgan and the children. If you've ever been seriously hurt in an accident, your injury could actually be worth millions, and most people have no idea.

40:46Insurance companies love to lowball claims offering way less than what you deserve. That's why there's Morgan & Morgan, America's largest injury law firm with over a thousand attorneys across 50 states. They've been fighting for people for more than 30 years and they don't settle for low ball offers. Just recently, they won$12 million in Florida,$26 million in Philadelphia, and$6.8 million in New York, all way above what insurance companies offered. And the best part, it's completely free unless you win. No upfront costs, no hidden fees. It takes only a couple minutes to see if you have a case.

41:17Did you know you can start a claim with America's largest injury law firm in just one click? It's super easy. Just go to forthepeople.com slash Rubin or click the link in the description and pin comment.

41:34So 85-year-old Nancy Pelosi is not going to run for re-election. This according to Breaking 911. Breaking report, Nancy Pelosi, 85, will not seek re-election in 2026, marking the end of her time in Congress. This is a woman who is worth, Joseph, how much is she worth today? She somehow trades about 800 % over the market. She's going to be okay. She's going to be okay. She'll still be able to get booze. She'll still be able to count her money and dive in it like Scrooge McDuck and all of those things. She's worth$413 million. My God. Anyway, she has announced she will not run for re-election at 85 years young, and here she is going out in style.

42:19He's just a vile creature. The worst thing on the face of the earth, but anyway. You think he's the worst thing on the face of the earth? I do, yeah. I do. Why is that? Because he's the president of the United States and he does not honor the Constitution of the United States. In fact, he's turned the Supreme Court into a rogue court. He's abolished the House of Representatives. He's chilled the press. He's chilled the press. He's scared people who are in our country legally. I know you've said the focus is on Prop 50. I know you've said you won't talk about your future until after Prop 50, but there is speculation about what you're going to do next.

43:02So, for me, it's just a question of one thing, winning the House for the Democrats. Democrats. And that's what we're doing with Proposition 50. It's the first step. And then we go from there to winning. And my only reason I'm in Congress this term is to win the House for the Democrats, to protect us from the poison of the Trump administration. Hey, at least they're toning down the rhetoric after Charlie Kirk, right? They're toning down the rhetoric. Donald Trump is the worst thing in United States history. What has he done, well, he created a rogue court. No, he appointed, he nominated Supreme Court justices that all passed congressional hearings, just like everyone else.

43:45They didn't, they've done some things that you don't like, but that doesn't mean they're rogue. They're just doing their job differently than you wish they would. He, what was it, abolished Congress or abolished the House, I think she said. No, Congress is still there. They suck, but they're still there. He chilled the press. Well, the press lies about everything. So he fights with them. That's true. They were endlessly slobbering over and running cover for an auto pen guy. And it goes on and on. Like everything she says there is just nothing. But in the end, what's it all about for her? It's just power.

44:17How can the Democrats have more power? And then what do you have to do to attain that power? You can never sell anything that you're doing as positive. It's just that Donald Trump is evil, the worst thing ever. He's done all these things and none of it is true. And if you think all of that is bad. She's already getting ready to endorse her 2028 candidate. Oh, and it happens to be somebody who's just as corrupt as her, and actually that they're related. It's Gavin Newsom. It's clear that this governor has a vision for our country. He has knowledge of our country and our state. The state of California, the fourth largest economy in the world.

44:56Gavin manages that way with great dignity. He has strategic thinking about how to get things done, and that is what has brought us together here. When this opportunity occurred, Gavin had a plan. He's a man with a plan, and that's what brings us here today. Utter, meaningless drivel. So what is his record? The destruction of San Francisco, the destruction of California, the flight from that once great state that was the dream of the country. It was literally the dream of the country, right? It was the gold rush. We're going to go west and we're going to finally get to California and build it into this unbelievable thing with extraordinary geography that should have every advantage.

45:43And now people flee it because they are fleeing that man. It should be noted that Pelosi is ant by marriage to Gavin Newsom. I mean, to be at that table during Thanksgiving, like that devil-worshipping, eating children table, awful. Here's Gavin's wife, who is also equally as awful as the rest of them. And I will tell you right now, I will not raise my children to think Donald Trump is an acceptable American leader.

46:14nor that he is what the leader of our great country should behave like. I won't raise them to think his terror enables his power and that his greed equals success. He is the exact opposite of what real strength looks like. So in our house, Gavin and I will continue to teach our kids what strength really looks like. What does strength really look like? Locking people in their homes while you eat dinner at the most expensive restaurant in all of Sonoma? Is that what strength looks like? Is strength looks like having orgies when you guys were mayor and wife of mayor in San Francisco? Like, what is strength?

46:58You will not teach your children that Donald Trump is acceptable. Donald Trump, who's fixing the country. lockbox. I'm just putting it in the lockbox for just a second. Harvest Right. We'll have more in a second. Let's face it, guys. Eating healthy can be a challenge when life gets busy, but the Harvest Right freeze dryer has completely transformed the way one approaches meal prep. With the new single prep session, it's now possible to store homemade, nutrient-rich meals for months or even years without preservatives and without stress. From roasted vegetables to smoothie ingredients to full grain bowls.

47:32Almost anything can be freeze dried. When it's time to eat, just rehydrate a prepared meal and enjoy healthy, effortless food. Perfect for those always on the go. It's like having a reliable backup plan for every weeknight dinner emergency. Even snacks get a serious upgrade. Freeze dried apples, strawberries, and mangoes become go-to treats. Naturally sweet with no added sugar. They're not only satisfying, but also kid approved. For anyone tired of relying on takeout or watching fresh produce go to waste, This is the kitchen upgrade that makes all the difference, and it's a serious money saver, too.

48:03Take control of your meals at harvestright.com slash Ruben. All right, let's jump back over to, well, it's not actually to CNN, but it is related to CNN host Abby Phillip. And you know this lady, she hosts that 8 o 'clock show. It's where Scott Jennings smacks around a bunch of leftist dingbats, and she sits there, and you can tell there's not a lot going on in her brain, but she can occasionally move the conversation along. Here she went on that guy, Lenny Charlemagne. Well, I call him Lenny. I call him Lenny. I will not call someone God. His name's Lenny. She went on, right? Oh, this is Pod Save America.

48:37Where am I coming up with the Lenny thing? She goes on Pod Save America. This is a bunch of guys that they all worked for Obama. They all desperately need TRT injections. And they talked about MAGA.

48:49John Fetterman:Do you feel like you better understand what drives MAGA politics because of this show? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. You feel like you got enough of the like... Yeah, I mean, I talk to... People's true feelings. I talk to tried and true, dyed in the wool MAGA people every single day. And so, yeah, I understand where they come from. I understand the information silos that they're in that make it hard to see outside of it.

49:27and it's not that complicated. I mean, I think that they like winning and Trump is winning in their minds. So in a way, to me, it boils down to mostly that. She's just so terrible. I mean, it's just like the lack of confidence she speaks with, she's just dim. I guess that's what it is. She's just dim. Yes, it's all of us who are in the bubble. You guys run the bubble. You are the bubble. You are CNN. Your show, Abby, every day you put on four Democrats and then you put on one Republican who has to punch through the bubble. That's what Scott Jennings, it should say, Scott Jennings should have a little thing in front of him, a little placard in front of him.

50:09It should say bubble puncher because you are the bubble, but the information silo that we all exist in, lady, I'd be happy to go on the show and explain it to you. Like I really would. If you need me to explain it to you live, I'll do it live and unedited. Anyway, speaking of dim people, whoopee over at The View. Yeah, we're doing The View. It is what it is. She was handed a legal note live on air, and I thought this was kind of fun. The Trump family has made about$1.8 billion profited off of this government, and he said that Joe Biden didn't know who he was pardoning using an auto pen. How come you don't know who this guy is?

50:46Because he used an auto pen. Let me look for that. Let me... meetings with the judge the the meetings that are they're supposed to go to when they're listening to what the hell what i love when sunny passes notes we don't know if penn used if trump used an auto pen to part it was a joke we don't know if trump used an auto pen oh come on but we do know that he didn't know who that crypto guy was well i'm sorry you know the hardest thing about this job now is no one understands nuance there you know when you hear a joke when somebody's fooling around when they're not saying something specific especially on this show I'm very specific when I'm when I'm pointing stuff out when I'm making jokes you know when I'm making jokes This is ridiculous.

51:38Anywho, the other thing that really upsets me about... When I'm making jokes, you know I'm making jokes. Connor, can we play the joke again? He was pardoning using an auto pen. How come you don't know who this guy is? Because he used an auto pen. Let me... Let me... Connor, can you play that one more time? Because maybe my sense of humor hasn't fully kicked in. A little light on the coffee today. He was pardoning using an auto pen. How come you don't know who this guy is? Because he used an auto pen. Let me, let's do that. Let me. Because he used an auto pen. That's not a joke, lady. You just made that up and said it.

52:21And then you had to read the retraction and you just look ridiculous. I mean, I love it. They hand her a piece of paper in the middle of the show. Can you imagine just being live on air and someone hands you a piece of paper? Oh, see that? Great show, Dave. Someone's getting lunch today, Joseph. All right, guys, we got one more for you today because it is a bit of a bizarro day, but I wanted to end on a positive note. Alex Karp, who we've shown you a couple of videos of, he is the CEO of Palantir. I hear he has, I think, an excellent explainer on what will overall happen to Democrats in the long term and how people will eventually wake up to this nonsense.

53:00And honestly, probably shouldn't say this, is why I thought the Democrats are going to lose the election, why they did, because people want to live in peace they want to go home they do not want to hear your woke pagan ideology they want to know they're safe and safe means that the other person is scared that's how you make someone safe and the average American person understands this unfortunately many of the intellectually captured institutions funneled and put intellectually owned by the Berkeley faculty do not and that's what they want but sirs hell what I want and that's That's what Palantir and all the people in this room, I hope, were here to serve the American people.

53:40And my version of service is the soldiers are happier, the enemies are scared, and Americans go back to enjoying the fact that we're the only one with a real tech scene in this country, and we're going to win everything. Well, winning everything would be pretty good, but I'll settle for the first part, which is how about just some safe streets? How about stop pushing all this crap on us? You know, he calls it the woke pagan ideology. I mean, that really is what's being pushed on New York City right now, because it's wokeness, it's communism, it's that dash of jihad, it's all of the bad stuff is now about to be voted in by the people of New York.

54:15And again, as I said earlier, the saving grace maybe is that if New York City burns, and what a horrible position to put the good New Yorkers in, but maybe that enables the Republicans to get momentum for the midterms. Like what an unbelievable Faustian bargain that is. Like just terrible. But we shall see. And as Rudy said, look, a miracle could happen. An absolute miracle could happen. We shall see. Good luck, New York. Good luck, New Jersey. Good luck, Minnesota. And I think there might be a couple other elections going on. I thank you guys for watching. Dave Rubin of "The Rubin Report" talks about Piers Morgan giving Lawrence B. Jones and the hosts of Fox and Friends his dark prediction for what will happen to New York City with democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani as its mayor; John Fetterman trying to convince CNN's Jake Tapper why Zohran Mamdani's brand of socialism is not the future of the Democratic Party; Donald Trump's blistering attack on Zohran Mamdani and why New Yorkers should hold their nose and vote for Andrew Cuomo; Zohran Mamdani explaining to the hosts of "The Breakfast Club" how he plans to raise corporate taxes on any business that wants to do business in New York City not just those headquartered there, unaware of how this will trigger a massive exodus of businesses and high income earners out of New York City; "The View's" Whoopi Goldberg getting caught by her producer trying to lie about Donald Trump's use of an autopen and forced to issue a "legal note" to avoid a defamation lawsuit; Palantir Technologies' Alex Karp explaining why Americans will never support the current incarnation of the Democratic Party; and much more. Dave will also be joined live by co-host and former mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani, to get his take on what will happen to New York City under Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
