In short

The host (Dave Rubin) argues that Democrats and specific figures are lying or backtracking on immigration enforcement and gender policies, and that this hypocrisy is driving social chaos (including protests in Minneapolis). He frames ICE as necessary for public order and claims sanctuary policies undermine the Constitution’s supremacy clause.

Guests (named in the episode)

Ben Shapiro is featured via clips from a conversation with “evil lizard person” Gavin Newsom on Newsom’s podcast. The episode also references public figures (not as guests): Scott Jennings, Jacob Frey, Tim Walz, and Ro Khanna.

Guest backgrounds

Ben Shapiro is a conservative commentator and author known for political debate and “debunking.” Gavin Newsom is California’s governor (referred to as “Newsom” in clips).

Key claims

Teachers should be required to share information with parents about gender-related issues; Newsom avoids acknowledging biological sex differences; Newsom’s office previously called an ICE-related incident “state-sponsored terrorism”/domestic terrorism but later backtracked; Democrats want to abolish or weaken ICE; Minneapolis unrest is blamed on activists and local officials.

Notable examples

Newsom/Ben clips on gender and ICE; Sean Hannity interview clip with Rep. Sri Thanedar about voting against deporting illegal sex offenders; a 2008 Obama immigration clip used to argue Democrats shifted positions; Minneapolis videos tied to ICE actions; references to Caitlin Clark/WNBA and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.

0:00Hey, I'm Dan Harris, host of the 10 % Happier podcast. When life gets a little rough, sometimes we feel this overwhelming urge to fix everything, which really is impossible. So I've got a new series coming up called Reset, where we're going to help you find simple, practical, surgical ways to reset key areas of your life. The lineup is incredible. We've got people like Gretchen Rubin, Laurie Santos, Atul Gawande, and The Daily Show's Josh Johnson. 10 % Happier with Dan Harris. Join the party wherever you get your podcasts.

1:12Hello, good morning, everybody. I'm Dave Rubin. This is The Rubin Report. It is January 19th, 2026. We are live streaming via the internet on Rumble, YouTube, and local. Share, subscribe, tap the notification. notification bell if you have not. And before we do anything, yes, there's a lot to do. We're feeling quite good about today's show. Everyone had a nice, refreshed weekend around here. It's freezing here down in South Florida. We're in the 40s right now. And as you know, when it gets to the 40s in Florida, only happens once or twice a year, the iguanas, they're up in the trees. They start freezing.

1:46Well, I was walking Clyde this morning and I I snapped this very picture myself. The iguanas are falling out of the trees. People could be hit by a falling iguana. You don't know what to do. I have contacted Governor DeSantis' office. He is here in Miami today. We're hoping that we can possibly get him in studio later for the big football game tonight. And we would like him to comment on what to do. A lot of people, you hilarious people over on X, are saying take the iguana in its frozen state and just throw it in a pot and boil it. a little paprika. Connor's not into it. We leave that up to you, but fear not.

2:23I did not get hit by an iguana this morning. We have a big program for you. There's just like a lot of craziness. It's just a lot of craziness, and we're just going to dance with the crazy. What was the line that Joker said in the original Batman? Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight? I think that's what we're doing on today's show. My friend Ben Shapiro, you know this guy, small yarmulke-wearing Jew? He sat down with evil lizard person Gavin Newsom over in Cali on on Gavin's podcast, and that'll set us up for today. And well, let me just say that Ben, if you're watching today's program, I know you're busy during the day, you just did a great job exposing this freak.

2:59Here they are on the trans stuff. Why does the parent not have an absolute moral ability to receive that information? And why is there not a requirement? There should be a requirement for teachers to turn over that information. Health and safety is a requirement. Our parents are. If a teacher truly believes that a parent is a threat to a child, they can report it to child services. Yeah, so health and safety is still the standard. So this idea that Trump says people are going to public schools and coming back, having surgeries and coming back the next day is absurd. No, but there are certainly cases in which kids are being, quote unquote, socially transitioned at school without parents knowing about it.

3:36I know some of the parents to whom this has happened. I mean, this is the fundamental question that lies at the root of all of this is the question that you're not wanting to answer, which is whether boys can become girls. Yeah, I just don't want, I think for the grace of God. Yeah. I mean, I appreciate the sympathy. For the grace of God? What are you talking about? Now, look, you guys know, I genuinely think he's the devil incarnate. I think he was sent here to destroy the United States of America and get rich while doing it. I think he is fundamentally evil and does not believe anything he says.

4:12We're gonna show you a few more clips where you can see he just backs out of every prior position. But why he cannot simply state that at this point, like we're so late in the freaking game, man, we're in the fourth quarter, there's a minute to go in a blowout and you still can't acknowledge what's going on here. Just say that there are biological differences between boys and girls, and yet you are sympathetic, let's say, to a young male who's going through some sort of gender confusion and something, something, something. He completely makes up Trump's position, and Trump implies, like, he's like, yeah, Trump says that they just go in and then next thing you know, they're in schools and they become girls.

4:47It's like, no, that's not what everyone's saying. Ben makes the point. What is happening is there is a social conditioning going on across the country, but it obviously is largely happening in schools in Cali where they're teaching this stuff. You take a bunch of young kids. It's so boring talking about this in some sense because we all know it and yet it's still coming, which is why we can't ignore it. They take a bunch of eight, nine-year-olds whose brains are barely beginning to develop in an adult sense. Like they're not even there, haven't even hit puberty. You tell them all of these things, you confuse them.

5:17Then next thing you know, we have teachers that are calling them other names and everything else. And I would just say to anyone watching this, just imagine if this was your kid. Let's say you had a son named Jack and you found out that they were going to school in Cali and they were in third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth grade. It doesn't even matter. And you found out that for the last six months, the teacher and some of the students were calling Jack Janice, right? Wait, Janice, Jack was Jack Tripper. I just did a little, that was a subtle subconscious Three's Company reference I just did there.

5:48Jack was Jack Tripper and Janice, wasn't Janice, wasn't the actress? Janice, someone help me here. Janet, Janet, what the hell was her name? What was, there was Chrissy and Janet? Janet. Janet. Janet Wood. Janet Wood was the actress or the character? Who was, there was Christy Snow, yeah, but who was the other, wasn't her name Janet? No, what was her name? Jackie? Hold on, guys. We're going to work through this. The girls in Three's Company. Joyce DeWitt. Joyce DeWitt. What was her character's name? Her name was Janet. Wood. All right. All right. I really could wrap it up right now. I did everything I need to do today.

6:24You get the point. If your son goes in Jack and comes out Janet, it's a problem. Or Chrissy had big boobs. There's something there. But he just can't. He can't say anything honest. He's incredibly duplicitous. And here he is backtracking now on the ICE situation. Watch. Don't be wrong for us. When AOC said this week that ICE should be abolished, you disagree. Oh, I disagree when I think a candidate for president by the name of Harris said that in the last campaign. I came out, I remember being on Chris Hayes hours later saying, I think that's a mistake. So absolutely. One was a narrative that was immediately pushed by the Trump administration and secretary of Homeland Security, Christine Ohm, that she was a domestic terrorist who's attempting to run over officers with her car and was legitimately trying not just this officer, but multiple officers.

7:08That was the original statement I said at the time. I thought that was untrue. And then your press office tweeted out that it was state-sponsored terrorism, which, I mean, Governor, I have to ask you about that. That sort of thing makes our politics worse. Yeah. And it does. I mean, our ICE officers obviously are not terrorists. Yeah. A tragic situation is not state-sponsored terrorism. Yeah, I think that's fair. Well, it was your office that did it. So again, this is just a great job by Ben. These things are not that comfortable. Again, we've been in contact with Gavin's people. I honestly, I truly believe this.

7:41And this is not a pat on my back. I think he's more afraid of me than Ben because Ben will go in and sort of respectfully sit there and do the debunking. And it's a great and important job for sure. Ben is polite. I'm sort of past the point of polite with these guys, right? I actually would be a complete, not going to curse on a Monday. I would just be awful with him. I would be exactly how I am. And I would tell him to his face what I think of him. So I think they're far more afraid of that than just the debunking of claims, which is what Ben is a master at. But the fact that he's backtracking off his own press office, calling them domestic terrorists, ICE basically right then and there.

8:19And we know that everything he has done as governor has been radically, it has been radically anti-ICE. It has been anti-closing the border. It has been pro-illegal immigration. It has been for giving these people healthcare and other benefits, while at the same time, he's pushing out the billionaires, which we'll get to, who are offering the tax base that gives these people benefits in the first place. Here's a, this took us about a half a second to find. Here's a video edit debunking Newsom's claims that California cooperates with ICE. California cooperates with ICE. I mean, if some guy jumped out of an unmarked car in a van with a mask on, tried to grab me, I mean, by definition, you're going to push back.

9:00Just ripped off the streets by masked men. This is a moral moment. ICE, unmasked, what are you afraid of? What did Donald Trump do? He sent out his masked men. He sent out his secret police. And right outside are dozens and dozens of ICE agents. All of this is about immigration enforcement. It's about authoritarian tendencies. People disappearing, happening in the United States of America today. These guys need to grow up. They need to stop. And we need to push back. And I'm sorry. But what do you think we do? Like, what do we do? I think, again, what Ben did was worthwhile. And I'm glad he did it.

9:38It offers fodder for all of us. But Newsom will say one thing when he's sitting with you. And then we know that his track record is completely opposite. So I guess all you can do is you can debunk and you can mock. Like, that's all we have left with this guy because he is never going to stop. The reason I refer to him as a lizard person, putting aside whether he's actually a reptilian or not, is that he's a shapeshifter and he will do it in front of anyone. He is a chameleon. He can blend into any atmosphere that he's in. It's deeply, deeply evil. But putting that aside for a second, let's get back to the Three's Company thing for a second.

10:09Can I get a picture of Jack Tripper? So imagine your son goes in as Jack Tripper right there in the middle. He was such a great freaking actor. Nobody could fall over a couch like this guy. So he goes in as Jack Tripper. Then you find out for six months they've been calling him Janet. There's Janet with the curly black hair over there. He's Janet. But then a year later, I don't think that's Chrissy, actually. That's not Chrissy. That's the other girl who came in for a year. You know, I task you guys with very, very simple things. Wait, we have Chrissy now? We have Chrissy. That's the girl that nobody really likes.

10:39She came in. There's Chrissy. That is the great Suzanne Somers. So your son goes in as Jack. Now throw it back. Now you've got Jack. There's your good son, Jack Tripper. He's fallen over couches. Next thing you know, for six months, they've been throwing him a wig, calling him Janet. And now forget that girl who was in a couple episodes. Yo, look at that. You deleted it on the, that was incredible technology. And then next thing you know, this is your son, Chrissy. Okay, nobody wants that except Gavin Newsom. Here's more from Newsom that Trump, of course, is trying to spark a civil war. He is trying to stoke a civil war in this country.

11:14It is a disgrace what he's doing in Minneapolis. It is a disgrace what he's doing all across the United States of America, terrorizing communities. No, he's not terrorizing communities. He's trying to de-terrorize communities. There are illegals that are being taken away. They are not supposed to be here. So you guys are doing this. But again, put that aside. Can I get a picture of Mr. Furley, please? Because what if your son came out like this? That would be even worse. But that's what they're trying to do. Ooh. Here's more from Newsom. He's just making the rounds. Here he is complaining about political polarization while he is literally ginning up a civil war, chopping genitals off kids.

11:58Chrissy, Mr. Furley, can we get the ropers in there? You got it. In terms of how we get to the other side, in terms of how we lock hands moving forward, how we govern the next president of the United States, not about me, whoever the next president needs to be repaired. We can't keep this up. We're polarized. We're traumatized. We're exhausted. Polarized, traumatized, and exhausted. We can't keep it up. It's because of you. On one hand, you're telling us Trump is sending in the secret police and that the civil war is here and that the federal government is authoritarian and everything else. And then you go on another show and say the complete reverse.

12:40Chameleon, lizard person, something, something. Do I have any other? Who else was in Three's Company? Let me see if I, Larry, give me a picture of Larry. I'll figure out a reference that's gonna make sense after we talk about noble gold for a second. Larry was the alcoholic friend of Jack over there. Let's talk about noble gold for a second. Man, we are crushing it today. Guys, gold has officially gone mainstream. 13:40That's DaveRubingold.com. Noble Gold, helping you build a stronger future. You know who would have been a better governor of California than Gavin Newsom? This guy. Yeah, there he is, Larry. He was cool, you know? Look at that. That's how guys used to be. They'd be wearing these flowy type things with a deck of, I don't know what, that show was completely bananas. Let's shift over. Well, this will stick with, we can stick with bananas actually, because we've shown you some videos lately of this interesting Michigan representative. His name is Sri Thanedar, and he's a curious cat. And he was on Sean Hannity's program last day or two.

14:21And Sean was trying to ask him, why did he vote against a bill to deport illegal sex offenders? And, well, take a look. That's not what you said. Sir, sir. YOU VOTED AGAINST THE BILL THAT MANDATED THE DEPORTATION OF ILLEGALS CONVICTED OF SEX CRIMES. DO YOU REGRET THAT VOTE NOW? NO, I DON'T REGRET THAT VOTE. LOOK, NO BILL IS PERFECT. AND MANY TIMES... WHAT IF IT WAS YOUR WIFE, YOUR SISTER, YOUR DAUGHTER THAT WAS RAPED? THAT'S A SEX CRIME. YOU WANT THAT PERSON TO STAY? LOOK, THERE ARE MULTIPLE THINGS IN A BILL. I DON'T AGREE WITH EVERYONE OF Sir, you got to answer the question. If your wife, your daughter, your girlfriend, mother was raped by an illegal immigrant, you voted against a bill that would deport these illegals convicted of sex crimes.

15:20You're perfectly fine if they stay in the country. Sean, look, I serve in Congress. I don't think you ever serve in Congress. What is going on with this guy? The toupee, the fake eyebrows, something very strange is going on there. But also, you know, I don't want to just mock his looks. I mean, also, he does not want people who rape citizens of the United States who are here illegally, the rapists that is, to be kicked out. Like, I don't know what else was in the bill, but whatever else was in the bill that was so terrible that he was like, I can't vote for this thing. Let's keep the illegal rapists and murderers in the country.

15:57Completely absurd. Of course, he actually also doesn't know what was in the bill. Why would you allow sex crime convicts to stay in the country that entered the country illegally? Why would you vote for that? It was not the bill did not just include that issue. There were other things in the bill. And so I cannot pick and choose. I don't have a veto where I can strike out one portion. So you would have voted against it. But otherwise, what was the big provision that prevented you from kicking these people out of our country? Look, I don't memorize. I vote on thousands of bills. I don't memorize.

16:33You don't know anything. But look, I do believe. So he doesn't even know what else was in the bill that stopped him from not wanting to kick out illegal rapists and murderers. These people are completely absurd. He votes on thousands of bills. Is that right? Did we get how many bills has this guy voted on? There's no way he's voted on thousands of bills. That's just completely absurd. One thing he is trying to do, this is from a few weeks ago we showed you, is that he wants to abolish ICE. ICE, of course, is the organization that has been tasked with making sure that Americans are in America and people who aren't American have to leave America.

17:10But he wants to abolish them. And we must, finally, we must, we must reform ICE. But it looks at this stage, folks, ICE is beyond reform. ICE is totally out of control. And this week, I intend to introduce a bill to abolish ICE. We need to make ICE go away.

17:54to reset key areas of your life. The lineup is incredible. We've got people like Gretchen Rubin, Laurie Santos, Atul Gawande, and The Daily Show's Josh Johnson. 10 % Happier with Dan Harris. Join the party wherever you get your podcasts. All right, so he wants to make ice go, I can't with these people. I really can't. Like, where are they getting them from casting with these freaking eyebrows? You know, he literally looks like Uncle Leo from Seinfeld. Look at this. Yeah, look at this. Who's doing this? You know, it's a damn shame I'm using these hardcore Sharpies here, but I would, for the purposes of comedy, like I would do it.

18:28Maybe Connor, you could edit something in later, but I'm just not gonna draw all over myself right now. Anyway, the point of all of this is the Democrats have completely gone insane. Whether you have a lying lizard person like Gavin Newsom, or you have this Shree guy who doesn't know what he's voting for, but he's really working those eyebrows, or we'll get to Ilhan and the rest of them, they've gone completely, completely insane. So now I wanna show you a video from 2008. This is wild. It was making the rounds over the weekend. This is 2008, a young Barack Hussein Obama who's attacking the Bush administration, the scary right-wing Bush administration, for not doing enough to combat illegal immigration.

19:05This administration, the Bush administration, has done nothing to control the problem that we have. We've had 5 million undocumented workers come over the borders since George Bush took office. It has become an extraordinary problem. And the reason the American people are concerned is because they are seeing their own economic position slip away. And oftentimes employers are exploiting these undocumented workers. They're not paying the minimum wage. They're not observing worker safety laws. As president, I will make sure that we finally have the kind of border security that we need. Well, hot diggity dog, Barack Obama, I agree with you.

19:46I can't believe it. There we go. That explains why. And I obviously was suffering from some sort of long-term mental health problem at the time. I did vote for that man that year. And he beat, that was during the Democrat primary when he beat Hillary Clinton. But think about it. He was to the left of Hillary at that point. The way he won that election, for those of you that were playing along at that time, He won that primary against Hillary by being to the further left of her, meaning he was more anti-Iraq war, wanted to get us out quicker. And he was taking positions that were to the left of her.

20:18So he was the one that really ginned up the beginnings of what became the crazy progressive base. But he's saying something true there. What he's saying is, so George Bush, George W. Bush, let in 5 million undocumented people in a year. That's what he said right there. And that becomes an economic problem and they take jobs away from Americans and everything else. Well, we let in a round. We think it's 21 million people under your vice president, or at least the auto pen that pretended to be him, Joe Biden. So how is it? So when you talk about who's become radicalized or whatever it is that you want to say, who has become radicalized here?

20:54Is it Donald Trump, who is now basically repeating positions that lefty Barack Obama had in 2008? or is it the Democrat Party who Barack Obama would have been saying are complete psychopaths from 2008? The 2025 Democrat Party, 2026 Democrat Party, you get it. I thought this was a great tweet. This is from Theo Wald, who's a former deputy assistant to Trump, related to this Obama thing. For people who weren't alive to remember the politics of early 2000s, the debate on immigration was the exact opposite of what it is today. The Democrat Party viewed open borders as, in the words of Bernie Sanders, a Koch brothers' proposal that Republicans wanted to displace American workers with cheap labor at the behest of their corporate donors.

21:42George W. Bush, on the other hand, was an honest-to-God open borders ideologue. He and Karl Rove had this brilliant theory that importing as many Hispanic immigrants as possible would make our country better and lead them to voting Republican forever. Then at some point, Democrats realized the only way they could continue to win elections is by changing the demographics of the country while a businessman from New York came along to save the GOP from its pathetic leaders of the past. So isn't that something else? And again, for those of you that were alive back then or paying attention to politics then, that's right.

22:18And not only is it, I mean, just look at the video I just showed you. You have a Democrat president who was to the left of Hillary in a primary basically trying to shut down the border and explaining that this is gonna create economic problems and everything else. And then you had the Republicans. That absolutely was true. Karl Rove was the architect behind George W. Bush. And they felt if they could keep bringing in Hispanic people, they would become lifelong Republicans. Now, when it pertains to the 21 million people that have come in in the last however many years, we don't know where they're from.

22:47We barely know the ethnic breakdown. We certainly don't know their cultural values and everything else. They were sort of making a very pinpointed move towards the Hispanic community. But you see why this is, this just is perfectly illustrative of how the Democrat party has completely gone off the rails. And we have more evidence of that. You know, this woman, her name's Ketanji Brown Jackson. Joe Biden nominated her to be a member of the Supreme Court because she was black and female. Not my thoughts. That's Joe Biden's words himself. Here she is still very, very confused about the difference between boys and girls.

23:21This notion that this is really just about the definition of who we accept that you can accept separate boys and girls. And we are now looking at the definition of a girl. And we're saying only people who were girl assigned at birth qualify. Good God. That last line there. Can you grab that last line again? That last five seconds. that people who were girl assigned at birth qualify. You're not, being girl assigned at birth, that's not how it works. No one's girl assigned at birth. The baby's born. Do we have to get into how a baby is born? Do you want to get a video on that? A baby gonna, there's a baby, come out of the woman.

24:07And then they look at the baby and they go, well, okay, that's a boy, that's a girl. And then there's usually a blue thing or a pink thing that they're gonna throw them in. That's how it's always worked. They don't assign them. Well, that's a boy, but you know, we're going to call him a girl because the parents are a little wacky. That's not how it works, but she can't even give you the basic definition that that video is just from a few days ago. So what happens, what happens when you have politicians who will say anything one day and say the reverse the next day, like Gavin Newsom, when you have these crazy people like Shreeth Anikar, who don't know what they're voting on and are quite literally allowing criminals and rapists to illegals to stay in the country.

24:45and then you have Supreme Court justices that don't know the difference between boys and girls. Well, you get a crazy toxic stew and that is what the woke thing has become. I saw this video literally two minutes before we started the show today. Watch, this is a trans activist is questioned by, I don't know, a seemingly rather thoughtful young woman just on the street asking about what's going on here. And you tell me about this, the emotional stability of this chick. I think he's being kind of aggressive actually. She! You can leave. Get the fuck out of my face. Okay, turn that on. I think the problem arises when we have females that don't want to play sports against males, and after their objection, the males are still put on the team anyway.

Read the full transcript

25:25We're not men. We're not males. You guys separate sex and gender, don't you? Yes, of course. So then you have to acknowledge that you're male? No, I will never acknowledge that. Never put those words in my mouth. Male? Never put it in my mouth. I'm putting it in my mouth. Take it out. Just remember. I am not male. I am not. I don't give a fuck. I am not male. I am a woman. Can I ask you what makes you a woman? My mind. Even implying that I'm male is an insult. And it spits in my face and that of every other trans person in this place. So I would argue that I think women would find it insulting that male people can say that they're women by flipping their ding dong off and getting facial surgery.

26:13I think you're being very rude. I think I'm being very kind. I think he's being kind of aggressive, actually. She! You can leave. Get the fuck out of my face! Okay. Turn that off. Leave! Have a good day. Piss off! I just want you to understand how calm I've been this entire time and how terrible your husband is here. I'm her wife, you worthless shrewd! Get out of my face!

26:41Happy Monday, everybody. Good luck. If I was to put my wang on this desk, and we actually have a wonderful selection of knives here at the house. You know, we cook a lot. If I was to grab the, you know, could you go into the kitchen and grab, you know what I'm talking about, that big, beautiful Japanese steel butcher's knife. Let's just see how weird we can get on this Monday. If I was to just put it on the table and lop it off, and then said, Connor, call me Mary. would that make me a woman? I don't think so. I don't think so. He's gonna get the knife. We'll go ahead with one thing here. So, okay, so we've illustrated to you the politicians that lie and then the point of that video, which I just, again, I just saw this morning.

27:26I don't, like, it's like the emotional state of that person, the disconnect with reality. Like, in some sense, I have sympathy for that person in some weird sense, which is that an entire system failed them, right? Like an entire, whether it's the familial system, whether it's the cultural system, like the scientific system, like something really spelled that person to lead them to that position. And I say this as someone that, you know, if you're over 18 and you want to call yourself whatever, address whatever, like you treat me with respect, I'll treat you with respect. It's a two-way street.

27:56That person, obviously, there's some mental instability there. But the, oh, we have it, right. So this is a beautiful shun knife. And we're definitely getting demonetized today. And man, the reflection on that thing, Like this is gorgeous Japanese steel. But if I was, I'm not gonna do it, let's not. But if I was to, and then just, Mayor, hello, I'm Mary. No, it wouldn't make me a woman. It would make me a crazy person. Take the knife before there's an incident. Okay, but what happens? So all of this, all of this just adds to this toxic stew. And then you wonder why young people are so depressed.

28:31And we just did an episode a couple of days ago with a doctor talking about some of the mental health problems that are going around. And then you see these activists screaming and hating America and everything is so backwards. And part of it also is because the people, it's not just that the politicians lie and all that, it's that the people who are supposed to make sense of things, and this is where I would say people in my world, right? That they're not brave often and they go with the tide as opposed to calling out nonsense. So I thought this was a really interesting video. This is Skip Bayless from ESPN.

29:01And obviously a lot of what's happened here related to the gender thing is connected to the WNBA because there's a lot of gender confusion. There's a tremendous amount of lesbians in the league. which is just fine. But there's also a weird racial element to what's happened because Caitlin Clark, who's by far the best female basketball player in the world, she's white and she happens to be straight in a league with a lot of black lesbians. Anyway, listen to this kind of sort of mea culpa around all of this by Skip. I started watching the WNBA much more closely than I ever had. And I started to think deep down in my psyche, wait a second.

29:37She's really good. But I'll be the first to admit, I felt guilty saying so on TV or on social media. I did not want to look like this red state white guy cheering for this red state white girl. Our country feels split enough racially already. I didn't want to pour gasoline on that fire. I guess it's sort of a mea culpa, but it really shows, and I don't pay attention to sports that much anymore. I play him, but I don't really pay attention anymore. So I don't know exactly what this guy's been up to, but 20 years ago, I really did enjoy watching him. But it's like, it's kind of pathetic. It's like, he's sort of mea culpa-ing it, right?

30:20But it's also just kind of pathetic, dude. You're paid millions and millions of dollars. Like, what's Skip's got to be making 15 million a year on ESPN for decades now. It's like, You have so much money, you're paid to be a thought leader. And what you're basically saying there, well, first off, why are you watching the WNBA? He's kind of admitting, he didn't really wanna watch it. If you really love basketball, well, first off, if you really love basketball, you shouldn't care what gender the people are, but the best basketball obviously is played by men. That's not a controversial nor anything else.

30:49It's just how it is, which is why virtually any, not virtually, literally any Division I male basketball team could beat any WNBA team and beat them easily. It's not a question. It's an obvious conclusion, right? There are biological differences. But okay, you're paid to have opinions, but you were afraid to, and you were afraid because you're a red state white guy. And you called her a red state white girl. I'm not even sure what state she's from. I get maybe Indiana. Is that where she plays? It doesn't even matter. But the point is, like, what is that? You have guilt over your skin color and political beliefs.

31:24So it forces you to watch something that you don't really want to watch and then not say that the player who's best is best because she's white? Like, it's just gross, Skip. I don't know. Be a little braver with the amount of cash you got in your pocket. Why not? Let's go to Beam Dream for just a second and then we'll fly over to Minneapolis where there are more and more crazy people multiplying like gremlins in water. You know, a lot of people don't realize how bad their sleep has gotten until they actually try to fix it. Between late nights on phones, juggling work, family, and everything else, it's easy to fall asleep exhausted and still wake up tired.

31:59That's why Bean Dream stands out. It's a natural sleep support made with clean science-backed ingredients that help the body relax and wind down at night. Many people say they fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and wake up feeling clear and refreshed without that heavy, groggy feeling. Dream is made with magnesium, L-thionine, and reishi. No sugar, no weird additives, and it tastes like a cozy cup of hot chocolate with just 15 calories, making it easy to build into a nightly routine. Better sleep can make a real difference in energy, focus, and patience during the day. If improving sleep is a goal this year, this is a simple place to start.

33:09Okay, so as you know, all hell's breaking loose in Minneapolis. This is largely because of the Somali money laundering scheme, which then exposed that there were all sorts of illegals doing all sorts of bad stuff there. Donald Trump sent ICE there. ICE is a legal entity, which is going around and taking illegals out of the country. They're not allowed to be here. And again, just think about it. Pick a country, Connor, name a country. Give me a random country. Ireland. Ireland. If I showed up on a two-week vacation to Ireland and then it was five years later and I was just there, opened up a pub, was drinking Guinness all day, and someone walked in and said, I was about to do an Indian accent because of Shree Thandakar.

33:51Oh, wait. Shillelagh. Dave, I've got me shillelagh here, and you're not a citizen. You've got to go. You can't stay here, you hear me? I would have to leave, and if I didn't, I would expect to be thrown into the jail, and we're going to smack you with a paddywhack. That's what they would do, and they would be right to do it. They would be. But somehow in America, if we send people who aren't supposed to be here out, we're told that we're bad guys. So anyway, so Trump sent the ICE in and all hell is breaking loose. Here's just like a series of videos from over the weekend in Minneapolis.

34:51We're just showing you kind of a messy compilation right there, but imagine you're just a decent person who lives in Minneapolis, and you're just trying to go get a cup of coffee, or you're taking your kids to school, or to the park, or something, and you just have to deal with this endless chaos. And the chaos has been ginned up by, obviously, the Mayor Jacob Frey, who got to a second, but everybody, everybody that I'm talking about, from Van Dar, who's trying to defund ICE, to Gavin Newsom, who's lying about them, and all of the entire Democrat establishment and the media who lies about everything.

35:20They've ginned up these people into a state of utter frenzy where they're attacking people on the street, they're taking over streets, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Here is Mayor Jacob Fry, who is just such a pandering douche. Here he is explaining that order will be restored if ICE leaves. Now, ICE are the ones that are trying to get the illegals out. So what he's kind of saying to you is that he's working with the activists because order will not be received, will not be restored as long as they're there. Kind of, you're not supposed to tell us that part, dude. If this were about order, there would be a simple way to restore it.

35:54And let me tell you a secret. It's not restored by additional federal agents. Order would be restored. And I will make this prediction if those federal agents left. I'm going to make a prediction. You're working with the activists and we're going to find out. This is where Pam Bondi better get on some RICO stuff and figure out how these NGOs and these nonprofits that are sending these, these cloned soldiers out into the streets with their pre-made signs and everything else, figure out what is going on there. He's making a prediction because he knows, and we all know this now, guys, do you remember BLM?

36:31Do you remember COVID? They turn on the activism and they turn off the activism. Why isn't it we have we haven't had a lot of Hamas protests lately because temporarily they've turned it off. And when they want to turn it back on, they'll have it back on. That's exactly what they do with everything. The activists are the foot soldiers of the deeply corrupt Democrat Party. That's not even controversial. And here he is again, just admitting it. If they do what we want, we can magically shut it off. The second these ICE agents leave the city, I'm telling you, you're going to have calm in Minneapolis and you will continue to see the great comeback that we had been experiencing.

37:09Let us get back to that comeback. Let us live in peace. This is where we have a, what is it, an unstoppable force versus an immovable object. That's what now Donald Trump is confronted with. This guy cannot win. You cannot have a mayor of a city beating the federal government as it pertains to immigration enforcement. You simply cannot. It would be a blow to the constitution that I don't think we would be able to come back from. We have to get these illegals out. And by the way, the Democrats, of course they lie about everything. We read the stats last week. ICE has basically deported, or there's been about 700 ,000 deportations in the year under Trump, a little over a year at this point, about 700 ,000 deportations.

37:51Less than 1%, I think it was around 270 people have been wrongfully detained, usually for about an hour and then let out. Not one American citizen has been kicked out of the country. Now, are there going to 270 people? So 270 people who got pulled over by ICE or maybe we're protesting or we're too close to an ICE investigation or something. But no system is perfect. Of course, there's going to be a little bit of that. And that's not great, but that's just reality. But they want this chaos. They want the craziness on the streets. And of course, the other reason they want it, particularly in Minneapolis, is because Tim Walz, the potential vice president of the United States, who is now not even gonna run for reelection as governor of Minnesota, and Jacob Frey, they are so deeply involved in this corruption scandal, this money laundering, Somali money laundering scandal, they need, they can't have you focused on that, so they need you focused on ICE.

38:45Here's Scott Jennings on that. Well, I mean, that's a great speech. We don't know exactly what they're being investigated for. We have very few details about this based on what I've heard. There are conversations potentially going on with a grand jury in Minneapolis. And look, based on their public statements, it's pretty clear that and based on the statements of officials at DOJ, it's pretty clear there is concern that these two guys have used their positions and their public statements to try to obstruct the execution of federal laws. Now, whether that rises to a crime, I don't know. Can you give me an example?

39:19Where's that clarity? Well, I mean, I think they've both made numerous public statements that have made it perfectly clear that they do not want federal laws to be enforced in Minnesota. And they flatly said they don't want ICE there enforcing federal immigration laws. They have literally both said ICE, leave Minnesota. In fact, Tim Walsh said we're on the third day of Gettysburg at one point. He did not say that either. OK. Oh, yes, he did. And we literally just showed you the videos of Jacob Frey saying, ice, get out of it. So everything that Scott Jennings there, once again, and if you didn't see my interview with him from about a week ago on the show, watch it.

39:57He just calmly lays out the truth with a bunch of people who seem to be impervious to truth getting into their brains. I want to point out the supremacy clause again. We've gone into this a couple of times. I think we have an image here. And let me just read just like a tiny bit. Do we do? Yeah. So the supremacy Clause, if you're a little confused as to what the real fight is about right now, listen to this from the Supremacy Clause. The clause establishes that the U.S. Constitution, valid federal laws enacted under it, and the treaties are the supreme law of the land. When federal and state laws conflict, federal law preempts, overrides state law.

40:35It resolved weaknesses in the Articles of Confederation, where federal actions often lacked binding authority over states and ensures national uniformity in areas of federal authority. So this is one of the, I mean, I've been saying this for years. This is one of the few things that the federal government is actually supposed to do. I'm very sympathetic to the more libertarian arguments that the federal government is doing too much. And we've created a cult of personality around the presidency and Congress doesn't work and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But one of the few things that the federal government is supposed to do that the founders knew could eventually become sort of conflicted with states' rights was deal with immigration.

41:13So these people, by their very definition of having sanctuary cities and not working with federal authorities and everything else, they should be kicked out of office. They are violating the Constitution of the United States. Moron Zamboni should have never been allowed to sworn in in New York and fry and get, they should all be kicked out of office. I know that's not how it works, but if any, it's that Geico commercial. It's literally, can you grab that Geico commercial? That's not how any of it works. Like that's really what is going on here. We should do a meme about that too. Anyway, here is, so there's Scott Jennings talking about the Battle of Gettysburg and what Tim Wall says.

41:48And the woman's like, no, he didn't. Well, here he did do it. Go. When things looked really bleak, it was Minnesota's first that held that line for the nation on that July 3rd, 1863. And I think now we may be in that moment that the nation's looking to us to hold the line on democracy, to hold the line on decency, to hold the line on accountability. Yes, so first off, he is referencing the Battle of Gettysburg. Of course, that had a little something to do with the Civil War, which is what these dingbats want on the streets. I'll read a note that my guys put up there for those of you that are a little confused as to what the Battle of Gettysburg was.

42:24The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point in the Civil War because it stopped the Confederate invasion of the North and shifted momentum decisively in favor of the Union. Well, if you're for the Union right now, if you're for the idea that we are the United States of America and we have some sort of contiguous landmass that should be governed by somebody that should have borders. And then if you're not a citizen, you can't be in here and everything else, then you should be on the side of ICE and Donald Trump right now, not on the side of this buffoon. Now, fortunately, we do still have states' rights, right?

42:58And thankfully, in some states, we are not doing the nonsensical dribble that is coming out of Tim Walz. Case A, or I would say prime example of that, would be what we're doing right here in Florida. Here's Ron DeSantis. You guys should know this is not Portland where you can do this, get slapped on the wrist, and then just get put right back on the street to do it again. If you do that, you're going to be on the working end of a jail cell. That's just the way it's going to work. We're going to hold you accountable, particularly when you talk about our state troopers who are working with DHS to enforce federal immigration law.

43:33If you're trying to interrupt law enforcement just doing their job, which keeps us safe, we are going to hold you accountable and buckle up. You pick the wrong state to mess around with. Ron, if you're watching the program today, and as I said, I know you're local right now because the big football game at University of Miami tonight, you're doing a bang up job. And I hope whoever succeeds, you will just replicate. They don't even have to think. What would Ron DeSantis do? Would be as simple as that to continue things. That's why we don't have this chaos here. That's also why we don't have people that just break into stores in the mall and run out with a whole bunch of, I always say it's Lululemon, because you usually see that, like, I like those tank tops, I'm gonna take them all.

44:12They don't do it because they might get shot. Where in other places, they don't. And you could just take whatever I want. In California, you're allowed to steal up to$800 worth of goods out of a retail brick and mortar store. Completely psychotic. $7.99, go for it. $8.05, we're gonna take you out. It's completely bananas, but decline is a choice. So now, where are they choosing decline at a rapidly escalating pace? Well, California, yeah, that's where they're doing it. We're going to get to that California wealth tax in just a second, but first Juvent. Staying active matters, but even people who move and work out regularly still deal with stiffness, soreness, and feeling worn down.

44:47That's where the Juvent micro-impact platform comes in. Juvent is a smart wellness device inspired by NASA-funded research and assembled in the U.S. It uses gentle micro impacts through the soles of the feet to support recovery and mobility without strain or stress. This isn't an aggressive vibration plate. It's subtle, low impact and can be used for about 10 minutes a day while watching TV. Backed by more than 25 years of research, this technology supports bone and joint health, circulation and recovery, key to staying active long term. Juven is designed for everyday use and comes with a six week money back guarantee.

45:20Right now, Ruben Report listeners can save$300 at jubin.com slash Ruben using code Ruben. That's jubin.com slash Ruben, code Ruben for$300. Hey, I'm Dan Harris, host of the 10 % Happier podcast. With summer winding down, now is the perfect time to hit the reset button. So many of us get stuck in ruts at work, in our relationships, in our nervous system. We've got a special series where I'm going to be talking to psychologists, meditation teachers, even some comedians about how to get out of that rut, how to reset your life in lots of different super practical ways. 10 % Happier with Dan Harris.

45:58Join the party wherever you get your podcasts. All right. So you guys know, Cali, I mean, we started with Gavin Newsom. They're just on every front that Cali could be screwing things up, whether it's taxes or economic policy, whether it's crime, whether it's drugs, whether it's immigration and working with eyes, on every front where they can make a choice, they choose the wrong thing. And when I say they, yes, it's Gavin Newsom at the top, but it's the people who put him in. So they're kind of getting what they deserve at this point. One of the guys, really the only Democrat who will appear on camera with me is Ro Khanna.

46:31And this is one of these things. It's like, Ro, you can come on the show anytime, but every time I see a video of this guy, I am less and less impressed by him. That's just the truth. I basically told him that off camera. I just don't understand what's going on in this guy's brain. And here he is explaining that Trump investigating Waltz, this is the man who is in charge of the money laundering scheme in Somalia, who clearly there is something stinky there, which is why he's not even running for reelection to be governor, that that's what happens in authoritarian countries. Like, come on. Tim Waltz said, Governor Waltz said, is let's de-escalate.

47:05Let's figure out how you don't have ICE deployed in Minnesota, where by the way, a 10th of the entire agency is in Minnesota. even though they have only 1 % of those who are undocumented. And he's saying, let's deescalate. And Donald Trump is saying, I'm going to open criminal investigations. Basically, he's opening criminal investigations against his political opponents who are criticizing him. And that's what happens in authoritarian countries. And I'm not one to use words like that. I'm usually very careful. But going after your political opponents criminally is exactly what authoritarian governments do.

47:41Do we have rosy dress? I'd like to send him a mirror. Dude, it was you guys who were criminally going after Donald Trump and trying to make sure he couldn't do business in New York City and trying to kick him off ballots and all of the rest of it. That was you. That was your party. That's number one. Number two, oh, Tim Walz is saying de-escalate. If you wanted to de-escalate the situation, then how about you do your job, Tim Walz, as governor of Minnesota and get the illegals out so that ICE doesn't have to go there. As for saying 10 % of ICE is there when they only have 1 % of the illegals, okay, we're doing a targeted move right there, right?

48:18Like you're thinking about this as a war. Well, sometimes you send more troops here and less troops here and you figure out what the fronts are. Like everything, everything he said there was just completely, completely absurd. But here's a little more absurdity. So Roe holds an interesting spot because he's the congressman from Silicon Valley, right? One of the congressmen from Silicon Valley area. So he's been around all of these people who have built industries, now many of whom have fled, who are being taxed into oblivion. We just read, there was a big story in New York Post last week about Peter Thiel has officially moved to Florida.

48:48I think David Sachs has moved to Florida. Like big time billionaires who create things and create jobs and create industries. They're taking their businesses and their law abiding employees and people who produce, they're taking them all out of Cali and moving to red states. Here he is downplaying the wealth tax in California. ultimately the idea that having just a one percent tax a year i mean a theory on uh building wealth when you're you make about 10 every year anyway in the stock market and that you're going to use that to make sure people have health care and child care and education i just think that's what's going to prevent a revolution come on have some more patriotism you have some loyalty to the I mean, just a caveat to that.

49:34I mean, what are you going to spend the money on? Where's the money going to go? I mean, look at our f***ing cities, bro. Look at Chicago, St. Louis, San Francisco, L.A., New York. Tons of Minnesota right now. I mean, look at this s*** that just happened with the learning centers. Supposedly$9 billion. I'm not going to depend on the waste and the fraud. Two things. and sucked out of the country. And then, I mean, on top of that, I mean, Scott Besson just said yesterday that there's approximately$600 billion in fraud in the US. I mean, don't you think we might wanna get a handle on that before we tax everybody more?

50:18I'm sorry, he just kind of sucks. Like, I'm not gonna comment on that, the waste. It's like, dude, this is like Libertarian stuff 101, but it's not an income issue, meaning the government has enough money. It's a spending issue. It's always spending more money. Now, not only did we always know the government just spends too much on anything, how much they buy a toilet for, but like now with this money laundering situation out of Somalia and all of the fraud we are finding and everything that we found post-Doge. And when he's asked about it, I won't comment on that. By the way, if you're a billionaire in California right now, you pay at least 50 percent in taxes, probably 54 percent and maybe more.

50:53Right. There's a gajillion types of taxes that you pay.

51:00of the overall taxes. So when he's like, well, what does he say? Where's your patriotism? Yes, you're just patriotic if you just give another, it's just another percent and another percent and another percent and that makes you patriotic? No, what makes you patriotic is believing in the Constitution of the United States and the fundamental tenants of this country and our founding and the pursuit of happiness and individual rights and get off my lawn. That's what makes you patriotic. You think you're patriotic, Ro, because you just want to take more of someone else's money. But the real issue here with this millionaires, this billionaire's tax, is that it's going to become a millionaire's tax.

51:37And after that, it will become 100 ,000 airs tax. Is that a thing? But it will be. We played this video last week, but this is David Friedberg from the All In podcast talking about what this billionaire's tax, it's being sold as a billionaire's tax because they know that every idiot in Cali will be like, I'm not a billionaire. I sure would like more of that money. I'll vote for it. But what it will really turn into. What matters is that we're giving the government the right to look into our private property and take a percentage of it every year. The total net worth of billionaires in the United States,$8 trillion.

52:06Yeah, the real money is in the middle class. The net worth of the United States, the middle class and everyone else is$170 trillion compared to$8 trillion of the billionaires. They need a way to open the door so that they can go after the real honeypot. The real honeypot are not 200 people. Just so everyone understands, the real goal of this is not to tax billionaires because there are other ways to tax billionaires, charge them a capital gains tax if they borrow against their assets that they haven't paid capital gains tax on. Very simple. That can resolve this. Another thing you can do, you can raise the capital gains tax rate.

52:37Sounds unpopular. I don't agree with that. But that's another way to deal with this, which is take the capital gains tax rate from 20 to 30. You could do that. The real goal of this is to create for the first time in American history, a private property asset seizure tax. And to use that as a way to take a percentage, because they're going after the They're going after the$170 trillion, not the$8 trillion that the billionaires have. Private property asset seizure tax. And so what they're clearly laying out there is there's about 200 billionaires and you get some cash off them, but it's really about the people beneath them.

53:08So Ro, it's like, oh, just be more patriotic, pay more taxes. I would ask, you know what, next time we have Ro on, hopefully he'll do the show again. I am being obviously critical of him right here. But Ro, I would like to ask you, how much more than you are required to pay do you pay every year? I would imagine as a member of government, you must pay a little bit more. You want to show that you're patriotic. So are you just paying? The government comes in and they look at your numbers and they go, okay, well, Ro, you owe us this many million this year. I'm sure you're doing pretty well. Do you just pay the bare minimum or are you a patriot, right?

53:39You've got a pin on your thing there. Are you a patriot and do you pay more? And of course the answer is he doesn't pay a dime more. I would bet the farm on it. I don't have a farm, but I'd like to have a farm and I'm going to need a farm if these people keep continuing going the way that they're going. but that's the point guys. They are going after the billionaires now because it's easy to sell it on them but they will go for after everyone else. Did you grab a screenshot of the Saks? Saks is background there for those of you not paying attention. It says Galt's Gulch and of course that's Ayn Rand.

54:05This is where all of the productive people disappear to. Right? That's where they're gonna go in the fountainhead and everywhere else because they're gonna disappear from society. They're just gonna self select out. The whole damn thing is so corrupt that all of the people who are individuals, who are creators and everything else, They will go to Galt's Gulch and disappear. Who is John Galt? Read the book. It's long, but read it. Will Kane over on Fox did an interesting expose on something that we've been talking about for a while. It's not just that Ilhan Omar married her brother in an illegal scheme and should be denaturalized and deported and she hates America and is a supporter of Hamas and all that stuff.

54:42It's also that when she came into office, she was worth about 51K, not too much, but now she's worth about 30 mil. How did that happen? And here's Will. Let me give you the perfect example. How about Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar? In February of this year, she shot down claims that she's actually a millionaire. She wrote, my salary is$174 ,000 before taxes. I don't have stock or own a home, and I'm still paying off my student debt. So if you're going to lie on something that is public, maybe try checking my financial statements, and you will see I barely have thousands, let alone millions.

55:16Well, People have checked the public records now. Ilhan Omar apparently has a net worth upwards of$30 million, somewhere between$60 and$30 million. And get this, it's because of companies run and owned by her husband, who in 2023 had a net worth of$51 ,000. In one year, that$51 ,000 grew from$6 to$30 million. 3 ,500 % growth in one year. What a good communist. it's always equality for you, elitism for those in power. Do you see the returns on this guy? So Ilhan Omar's husband, I think I said her, but the husband was worth 51 ,000 bucks. Now they're worth somewhere between 30 and 60 in just a couple of years.

56:01Do you think this might have a little something to do with some of the companies that this guy's running that have something to do with the money laundering scheme coming out of her district? Do you think there might be something there? Could somebody get on this? Is there anyone paying attention anywhere to anything? evil, evil, evil at the highest levels. But of course, it's not just Minnesota. The other part, I think that there's a reason the Democrats are so apoplectic about all of this, about the fraud being uncovered, because once you start uncovering it in one place, you're going to find it all over the place.

56:29This is very much what Elon did with Doge. They started uncovering the books and everyone was like, oh my God, they're going to collapse the government. And if all these things don't get funded, nothing's going to work. And it's like, nobody died. Everybody's here. And yes, the government is a little bit, at least, slimmer and trimmer thanks to what Doge did. I thought this was absolutely wild. Here is Dr. Oz, Mehmet Oz, talking about how Minnesota is just the tip of the iceberg. Wait till you figure out, wait till they expose what's going on in, you guessed it, Cali. And here's the hard part to fathom.

57:01I don't want everyone to take a deep breath now. And Minnesota, which is cold this time of year, is just the tip of the iceberg. I think what we're seeing in Minnesota, which is billions of dollars of fraud that hurts our most vulnerable people, puts them at risk because you steal not only their money but you can steal their lives by putting them at risk for bad services provided at the wrong time that actually take away opportunities for others to get treatment but what we're seeing in Minnesota is the tip of the iceberg because it is dwarfed by what I saw in California which is whole-scale cultural malfeasance around health care there is a acceptance that you need to be in the fraud business especially in Los Angeles.

57:40And the magnitude of fraud there, we believe, is approximating$4 billion just in hospice and home health care. $4 billion in hospice and home care. And that it's way worse there. He basically said that the entire system of health care in California specifically is built on fraud. So of course they don't want you. Gavin Newsom doesn't want you to figure out what's going on in Minnesota. Because if they expose what's going on in Minnesota, of course they're going to figure out what's going on in Cali. And guys, it's worth mentioning, that's not to say there isn't fraud across the board. If they really start looking at fraud everywhere, are there going to be fraudulent activities happening in Florida?

58:15Obviously. Are there going to be fraudulent activities happening in Texas? Obviously. But there is some connection. And this is the part that I think eventually a RICO case maybe will figure out. There is some connection between the Democrat establishment in power and the money laundering that goes on. It goes through the NGOs. It goes all the way through the system so that right in front of our eyes, Ilhan Omar can go from a husband's who's worth 51 ,000 to now being worth 30 million or Nancy Pelosi can trade, what is it? A thousand percent over the stock market. Like, why am I paying my financial advisor?

58:47I should just be following her. Anyway, here's a little bit more from Ro Khanna. Here he is with Kara Swisher, who's just like a far left. She's just a far left nutbag. I don't know how to describe her in any way. But again, here they are. They just want more of your money. They're such good people. They're progressives, guys. And that means they have to tell you how good they are. And how do they prove it? Well, by taking your money. And I think what it is, it specifically targets about 100 people, I think it is, who are threatening to leave California, except for Jensen Huang, who's apparently staying.

59:17I have two minds of this. One is, you made your—and I said it to one this weekend. I said, you made all your money in California, you ingrateful piece of s**t. You could figure out a way to pay more taxes. They don't. They think that there's waste and that there's abuse. And there is some waste. I'm not going to say everything we've been spending is perfect, but the point is you have a real crisis here. I had a challenge for you, Ro. How about start looking into it? Spend two weeks not demanding that you get more of other people's money who produce things. How about you just spend two weeks going on podcasts?

59:56You're welcome to come back on here and talk about what you are doing to figure out what waste and fraud there is. Because if you guys eliminate, let's say you, this is a total pipe dream, but let's say you really eliminated waste and fraud. You really had some sense of what the books are. And again, this is to the backdrop of Dr. Oz just saying that Callie's the worst of anything. But let's say you guys really did that. And you were like, you know, it turns out we got rid of all of the waste and fraud and to make a really great system work, we need another, I don't know, we need another two bill.

1:00:26We need another two bill. You know what? You might get some people to toss in on that. You might. But what they don't want to do, people who produce things, what they don't want to do is just throw money at things, right? Like the people who are the cleverest, let's say, when it comes to money or people who really build things, what they, you know, if you think about it this way, if you take a billionaire or not even a billionaire, take, think of whoever's the richest in your family. Did they just throw money at everybody? Everyone comes to them and wants money and everything else. Did they just throw money or are they a little more circumspect or they, do they show a little more discernment of what they are doing with their money, which is why they're good with their money in the first place.

1:01:01So they don't, when the, when the nephew comes to them and is like, I need 50 grand and they're like, well, show me a plan. Like you guys, you're all completely ridiculous. You have, you are running the system. That's a giant money laundering scheme. And then Swisher, she's just so freaking unpleasant too. It's like, you made your money in Cali. you, you know, in essence, she's like, you rat bastard. And it's like, dude, lady, how much more Kara Swisher, I don't know how much money you have, but how much more than the bare minimum do you pay? I'm going to go out there and guess that you've made a little money in your career, right?

1:01:34I think she used to work at the New York Times. I mean, she's just like a standard lefty, whatever. It's like, how much more do you pay than the bare minimum? And why, why not 1 % more? And there's just no doubt that they do. We know, by the way, when it comes to, when it comes to charitable giving that people on the right, conservatives, give something like 80 % more than people on the left because they don't want to do good. They want to pretend they are doing good. Here is Mark Cuban, who's confused on an awful lot of things, but also is a billionaire, one who lives in Texas, by the way. But here he is.

1:02:06He sat down with Kara Swisher and she asked him about the billionaire wealth tax and he tried to enlighten her just a little bit. You and I discussed the wealth tax. You had a whole argument. You wanted to sit down with Elizabeth Warren and have it. Let's put it this way. If there was a wealth tax, particularly on a mark to market for unsold assets, there would be no cost plus drugs. Because? I'd have to save up cash. It's cost me a load of money to do this. And I have to take a lot of risk. I mean, big guys can come in and just crush me and I have to be ready to deal with that. And you're talking hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars.

1:02:39And you know, I don't care. I mean, at least maybe there's some, but That's just not sitting in the bank waiting, you know, to pay taxes on. Yeah. The idea of just soak the rich, billionaire tears that sell that cup. Screw you, Elizabeth Warren. You're everything wrong with politics. OK. OK, then. All right. Yeah, she is everything wrong with politics. Elizabeth Warren, who's worth a ton of money, but just always wants other people's money. And what he's trying to explain there in like the simplest terms is like, guys, you keep taxing the hell out of us. And ultimately, we can't do things. Cost plus drugs is his way, it's his marketplace where he has made drugs, like he's done some good here.

1:03:17I've been very critical of Mark Cuban over the years, but he's been very good here. He has created a marketplace so that people can get prescription drugs cheaper. And what he's saying is basically you're going to tax the hell out of me even more than you have already. And ultimately I'm not cash rich and I can't just keep funneling money into this thing. So, okay, you'll screw people again. So maybe Swisher actually heard him there, though I really doubt it. So how do we How do we tie together today's show? Well, I want to jump back to that curious man with the strange wig and the wackadoodle eyebrows, Sri Thandar, because things happen slowly.

1:03:51Bad things happen slowly. And we have people in elected office who cannot do the bare minimum, the lowest common denominator of goodness. They simply cannot do it. So let's throw back to us abbreviated version of the video we showed you up top. Why would you allow sex crime convicts to stay in the country THE COUNTRY, THE COUNTRY THAT ENTERED THE COUNTRY ILLEGALLY. WHY WOULD YOU VOTE FOR THAT? IT WAS NOT, THE BILL DID NOT JUST INCLUDE THAT ISSUE. THERE WERE OTHER THINGS IN THE BILL. SO I CANNOT PICK AND CHOOSE. I DON'T HAVE A VETO WHERE I CAN STRIKE OUT ONE PORTION OF A BILL. SO YOU WOULD HAVE VOTED AGAINST IT.

1:04:28OTHERWISE, WHAT WAS THE BIG PROVISION THAT PREVENTED YOU FROM KICKING THESE PEOPLE OUT of our country. Look, I don't, I don't memorize. I vote on thousands of bills. I don't memorize. You don't know anything. But look, I do believe. All right. So the point guys is if we can't stop convicted sex offenders who are illegal, if we can't kick them out, if we can't just kick out illegals who are just not supposed to be here, who are not citizens of the United States, if we can't audit the states to figure out what's going on with these slush funds, if we can't keep our cities safe, if we can't defend our borders, we can't do anything.

1:05:04We literally will not exist as a nation, but it won't be that it will happen tomorrow. It will happen slowly, very slowly. And then one day you will wake up and go, boy, that world that I used to live in, that country that I lived in, the United States of America, it was a freaking dream. It was a dream. And I think we all have a version of that right now. Like things were not this way 15 years ago. They do not have to be this way right now, but what they are doing is doing it all across. I just gave you a couple bullet points on what they're doing, and they're doing it all slowly, right? They're breaking every norm, and they do it kind of slowly so you don't even realize it's happening.

1:05:42This is one of my favorite videos of Jordan Peterson. It's from about 10 years ago on Joe Rogan explaining how bad things happen. I just don't understand how it gets to the point where... Well, I think things get to terrible places one tiny step at a time. You know, if I encroach on you and I'm sophisticated about it, I'm going to encroach two millimeters. I'm going to encroach right to the point where you start to protest. Then I'm going to stop. Then I'm going to wait. Then you're going to calm down. Then I'm going to encroach again right to the point where you protest. Then I'm going to stop.

1:06:13Then I'm going to wait. And I'm just going to do that forever. And before you know it, you're going to be back three miles from where you started, and you'll have done it one step at a time. And then you'll go, oh, how did I get here? And the answer was, well, I pushed you a little farther than you should have gone, and you agreed. And so then I pushed you a little farther than you should have gone again, and you agreed. And if anybody's interested in this sort of process, and this is a horrifying book, if you want to read about how this process works, you can read a book called Ordinary Men by Robert Browning.

1:06:44That's it, guys. Every norm will slowly get chipped away. We'll all just, oh, there's a little more violence in blue cities, and you're allowed to steal a little bit of stuff. and they're allowed to take a little bit more money and play class warfare with the billionaires for now, but it eventually will be the millionaires and then it'll be everyone in the middle class and all of those things. And we'll just allow all of these things slowly to happen and then one day it will all be gone. That is where we could be. However, I can't end a Monday show on that sort of depressing note. So what I've decided to do is end with a theme song to Three's Company.

1:07:22We've got a post-game show coming up. well, it's going to be a little more than 30 seconds because the theme song is probably about 45 seconds. RubenReport.Locals.com. Come and knock on my door.
