In short
ICE deportation of Milo Yiannopoulos; whistleblower allegations inside NY AG Letitia James’ office; Italian archaeologists’ findings under Jerusalem’s Church of the Holy Sepulchre matching the Gospel account of Jesus’ tomb.
Guest backgrounds
Tom Homan, White House “border czar” (DHS/ICE leadership), explains deportation process on CNN. Daniel Weisenfeld, Assistant Attorney General in Letitia James’ office, Investor Protection Bureau (about two years), previously sued Coinbase/Gemini/Titan over prediction-market gambling.
Key claims
Homan says once a judge orders removal, ICE/CBP/DHS act quickly; deportation wasn’t based on politics. Weisenfeld alleges James’ office directed him to pursue Trump/Truth Social/Hewlett-Packard without credible basis; emails were deleted; he was placed on administrative leave. Archaeologists claim excavations found a funerary landscape (quarry, cultivated plots, rock-cut tombs, garden) dated to around Jesus’ death.
Notable examples
Yiannopoulos detained at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport; removal order July 22 after he failed to appear. Weisenfeld cites James’ 2018 promise to prosecute Trump and a 2024 civil property case upheld on liability but reduced on penalty. Excavation under Holy Sepulchre: quarry depth ~20 feet; olive trees/grapevines; tomb chamber blocked by Hadrian-era structure; no body found.

Border czar Tom Homan explains why even a right-wing provocateur like Milo Yiannopoulos gets deported when he overstays his visa and why ICE is moving people out fast. A New York prosecutor inside Letitia James' office blows the whistle, claiming he was ordered to hunt for crimes by Trump, Truth Social, and others with no credible basis. And Italian archaeologists say they've found the landscape that matches the Bible's description of Jesus Christ's tomb after 2 ,000 years.
0:51Let's dive in. Tom Homan on Milo Yiannopoulos' deportation. White House boarder czar Tom Homan went on CNN Sunday and laid it out plainly. When a judge orders someone out, ICE's job is to get them out, fast. Right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos, a British national, was detained by ICE last week and swiftly deported. DHS said he overstayed his visa. An immigration judge issued a final order of removal on July 22, after Yiannopoulos failed to appear at his hearing. Homan told Dana Bash the process is simple. Once a judge orders removal, ICE, CBP, and DHS work the efficiencies so people aren't sitting in detention waiting on paperwork and flights.
1:40Get them out quick. Open those beds up for more detainees to be held, he said. Because Yiannopoulos skipped court, the judge ordered him deported. He had his due process, ordered removed by a federal judge, and ICE removed him. It's that simple. Bash asked whether Laura Loomer tipped ICE off. Homan said a lot of people did, and Loomer probably was one of them. Then Bash pushed on the mugshot, the statement that Milo chose to overstay his welcome, and whether the Trump administration was making an example of him. Homan didn't bite. Goal is to remove people as quickly as possible, regardless of who they are.
2:22The public details were in response to press inquiries. We don't deport people based on political affiliation. ICE grabbed him Thursday night at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Kenner, Louisiana, ahead of a scheduled Kanye West concert Friday night. This is how a serious administration treats the law. Overstay, skip court, you go. No special carve-out because you used to be useful on the right. That's the opposite of the last four years, when the same system looked the other way for millions. New York prosecutor claims Letitia James' office directed him to target Trump. Friday morning, Assistant Attorney General Daniel Weisenfeld sent an agency-wide email to hundreds of colleagues in Letitia James' office.
3:11He said his supervisor told him to find and pursue crimes committed by specific individuals and organizations affiliated with Donald Trump. The targets he listed, Trump himself, Truth Social, and Hewlett Packard over the DOJ-approved merger with Juniper Networks, without having a credible reason for targeting these organizations and individuals. Weisenfeld works in the Investor Protection Bureau out of the Liberty Street office in Manhattan. He's been there about two years. He's been on big cases, including the April lawsuit against Coinbase, Gemini, and Titan, alleging illegal gambling through prediction markets.
3:55The Hewlett-Packard mention tracks with James' office joining other AGs opposing that$14 billion deal. The email vanished almost immediately. deleted from servers and from more than 2 ,000 inboxes. Then General Counsel Kumiki Gibson sent a follow-up telling staff it was an internal matter and no one was in danger. James' spokesperson, Alexis Richards, called it a personnel matter. Weisenfeld was placed on administrative leave with full pay. The office strongly rejects any assertion that they target people based on politics. Weisenfeld couldn't be reached for comment. In the email he wrote, If you believe Trump is using Department of Justice attorneys to prosecute his enemies and further his political interests, you should find it equally troubling that Tisch, James, is doing exactly the same thing.
4:51He asked colleagues not to act as James' personal attorneys hunting political enemies. Prosecute crimes, don't pick the person, and then hunt for the crime. He also accused the office of burning taxpayer dollars on convenient public enemies while ignoring rampant nonprofit homeless shelter fraud and anti-Semitic crimes in and around synagogues. He opened with the best part of having F.U. money is being able to tell the truth without fear. This didn't come out of nowhere. James campaigned in 2018, promising to prosecute the president for crimes committed in New York state. In 2024, a judge hit Trump, his sons, and a company official with more than$360 million in a civil case over alleged inflated property values.
5:42An appellate court last August upheld the verdict, but threw out the massive penalty. State GOP chairman Ed Cox put it bluntly Sunday. Letitia James weaponized the attorney general's office into a political hit squad and then tried to cover up her tracks. She is utterly unfit to serve. New Yorkers deserve an attorney general who prosecutes criminals, preserves public records, and enforces the law without fear or favor. This is lawfare with a New York accent. Same playbook. Pick the target first, find the theory later, then scrub the evidence when someone inside talks. Archaeologists say they've found the landscape of Jesus' tomb.
6:28room. Italian archaeologists say they have uncovered an ancient site under Jerusalem's Church of the Holy Sepulchre that matches the Bible's description of where Jesus was buried. Preliminary findings are in the journal Liber Annuus. Lead archaeologist Francesca Romana Stasola of La Sapienza University of Rome told the Daily Mail they found evidence of a funerary landscape. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is a 4th century church built over the traditional site of the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. About 4 million pilgrims visit every year. The team started three years ago during a floor restoration.
7:05In the final phases in 2025, they found, underneath the church, an abandoned quarry, cultivated plots, rock-cut tombs, and an ancient garden. John 1941, at the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. John 19.20 places the crucifixion near Jerusalem. Hebrews 13.12 says it happened outside the city gate, which is exactly where that quarry sat in the first century. Parts of the quarry ran 20 feet deep and had been filled with dirt, consistent with later agricultural use. They found olive trees and grapevines dating to around the time of Jesus' death, traditionally 33 AD.
7:52Stasola told the Times of Israel, the Gospel mentions a green area between Calvary and the tomb, and they identified those cultivated fields. The graves were carved directly into the rock, matching Matthew, Mark, and Luke's description of Jesus' tomb as hewn from stone. One chamber had been blocked by a Roman structure from Emperor Hadrian's 2nd century building program. No body was found in the tomb. The landscape, the garden, the quarry location, the rock-cut grades, and the dating line up with the biblical account in a way previous excavations had not made this clear. For a lot of people, this is more than archaeology.
8:33It's another piece of physical evidence sitting under one of Christianity's holiest sites, matching the text Christians have read for two millennia. And that's your first look this Monday. Quick recap. In a lap, ICE executed a lawful removal order on Milo Yiannopoulos after he overstayed and skipped court. A prosecutor inside Letitia James' office says he was told to go find crimes on Trump and Trump-linked entities. And archaeologists say the ground under the Church of the Holy Sepulchre looks like the garden and tomb scene in the Gospel of John. We'll keep following all of it. I'm Dave AI. Thanks for starting your day with First Look.
9:13See you tomorrow. Thank you.
