In short

The host argues that “panic” about a U.S.-Iran conflict is exaggerated, then claims Trump is using leverage (naval blockade/visit-and-search) to force a better Iran deal; he also connects the Iran situation to U.S. energy leverage, possible action toward Cuba, and broader shifts in alliances. He then pivots to U.S. politics: Virginia redistricting and election-law fights, plus criticism of Democratic candidates’ immigration positions.

Guest backgrounds

No formal guests appear in the transcript, but the episode features clips of public figures: Whoopi Goldberg (The View), Ro Khanna (Democratic congressman), Adam Smith (Washington representative), Caroline Levitt (Trump-aligned spokesperson), Kash Patel (former FBI official), Kevin Hassett (National Economic Council director), Marco Rubio (U.S. Secretary of State), J.D. Vance/Steve Witkoff/Jared Kushner (Trump administration figures), and Bill O’Reilly/Bayangur Sargon (commentary clip).

Key claims

There’s “no draft” despite Whoopi’s warning; a conventional ground war is ending in favor of drones/AI; Iran negotiations will succeed because the U.S. controls the Strait of Hormuz; media is “rooting” for Iran failure; JCPOA was dangerous and involved cash transfers; blockade pressure will force Iran concessions; Europe’s NATO role is weak; Virginia Democrats are bait-and-switch gerrymandering.

Notable examples

Whoopi’s claim Trump will draft 18–25-year-olds into an “Iran war”; headlines about “uncertainty” in Iran talks; U.S. boarding of the MT Tiffany; Trump’s statements about resuming bombing and controlling the strait; oil tanker traffic toward the U.S.; Rubio sending a Havana delegation; Virginia’s proposed 6–5 to 10–1 map; attacks on Abdul Al-Sayed’s “ICE must be abolished” stance.

0:00I've tried a lot of seafood over the years, guys, and truly it's been hit or miss. You know, sometimes it looks great, but then you cook it and it just doesn't have that flavor or freshness you expect. So finding something reliable has made a huge difference. Wild Alaskan Company really changed that for me. It's the best way to receive high-quality, wild-caught seafood delivered right to your door on your schedule. The first box I got was super easy to use. Everything comes individually portioned and vacuum sealed, so there's no guesswork. I cooked that wild Alaskan sockeye salmon just in a pan with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper, and it turned out fantastic.

0:34Clean flavor, great texture, and didn't feel like frozen fish at all. I've also tried the wild Pacific cod, which I love. It's light and flaky and really easy to work in when you need a quick dinner. What stood out is that the fish is quick frozen right after it's caught in Alaska, so it locks in that freshness along with the nutrients like omega-3s. And it's clean, no GMOs, no antibiotics, no additives, and it supports sustainable fishing in Alaskan fishermen. They're so confident in the quality that there's 100 % satisfaction, money-back guarantee, so there's no risk in trying it. Go to wildalaskan.com slash Ruben for$35 off your first order of premium wild-caught seafood.

1:09That's wildalaskan.com slash Ruben for$35 off your first order.

1:55How you doing, people? I'm Dave Rubin. This is The Rubin Report. It is April 21st, 2026. like, subscribe, comment on all those places that we put the program on the computer machine. We got a big show for you. Quickly wanna note that yesterday, several times during the show, I used mental telepathy to send you guys adjectives instead of saying exactly what I was thinking about some of these Democrats. And I looked in the comments and basically you all nailed it. Hundreds of thousands of you that watched and or listened to the program yesterday, you all nailed every single one of them. A lot of it was the C word.

2:33It's true. What can I tell you? We're going to dive back in. It's really interesting to me because, you know, I'm always talking about the sort of divide between the online world and the real world. You know, this real carbon based world that we used to live in. And one of the things that I'm finding is the disconnect. You know, it kind of it fluctuates. Right. Sometimes it feels like what's happening online is really somewhat within the realm of what's happening offline. Sometimes it feels really wide. Sometimes it narrows a little bit. Right now, I'm seeing a really, really big divide. There are so many people.

3:06It's virtually everyone on the left and then a certain set of people on the right, but it's a lot of loud people. We've been calling them panic-ins. There's a lot of people that seem to think the sky is falling right now. They're just reading Chicken Little on crack, and the sky is not falling. There is a lot of good stuff happening. And unless we really figure out how to make people understand that, show people that is true, all of the people who are endlessly hysterical, either because they want to destroy Trump or they want to destroy America or a little bit of both, they're going to win. And I don't mean just win in the midterms.

3:42They're going to win the whole thing. And it will literally be the end of Western civilization. So we got a lot of work to do to show people. I hate the phrase work to do. The Democrats always say, we got to do the work, and they just do nothing except complain. I mean it in the literal sense. We have to actually convince more people that there are good things happening, show them evidence of it, and get the pannikins to step off the ledge. So let's start with a group of ladies who are all pannikins. Yeah, we're doing the view right up top. Here is Whoopi. Whoopi is telling people that Trump wants to kill all the young people by drafting them into the Iran war.

4:24Everything she says here is complete and utter drivel, fabrication, fiction, etc. This doesn't go away just because you signed a piece of paper. No, none of it goes away. And that's why they are planning on a draft. They're planning on a draft. and you're bitching and moaning that there are women who are part of the Army, Navy, and you're getting rid of people and you're talking about who shouldn't be. What the hell are you people doing? And what it is, is they're changing that you no longer, you used to have to opt into the draft. Now it makes it automatic. It's a draft. I'm sorry it's a draft.

5:01Because if you are 18 to 25, they're looking at you. All right, first off, there's no draft coming. There's no draft coming. they are planning on a draft. It's just simply not true. But not only is it not true, let's just try to take stock of where we are at in 2026. By the end, likely by the end of this year, commercial robots are going to start showing up in homes, right? There's going to be the Optimist robot, Figure AI has their robots, and there's others. Drones are becoming ubiquitous in warfare. Everything is going to be automated. Do you honestly, Whoopi, I know you don't mean anything you say, but do you really think that the wars of the future are going to be wars where we are just grabbing our own citizens, forcing them to suit up and sending them all over the world?

5:51Whatever the wars of the future might be, they are almost all going to be AI dominated. They are going to be robots, literal robot soldiers. Think Terminator. It's going to be drone warfare. It's going to be robotics and technology. It's going to be lasers shooting rockets out of the sky. The day of conventional warfare, D-Day, we're sending soldiers to another country. It's over. It actually is over. It's partly why for the last month I've said that one of the things that Trump is doing with the Iran war is he's ending sort of war as we know it. He's not ending war, right? War is, war is kind of how people are.

6:33People are pains in the asses and often want other people's stuff and you're gonna get some war every now and again. But conventional wars of nations invading nations, soldiers going in and all those things, that stuff is ending. You can feel it even with this war, right? We didn't send soldiers into Iran. We didn't put boots on the ground. There were rockets flying between all these different countries. And then you had the Iron Dome and you had this new laser system and all of these things. So they just want you to feel hysterical. What Whoopi and the rest of them are doing right there is they want the mothers that watch that show to feel hysterical.

7:07Oh my God, Donald Trump is sending my child to Iran and it is complete nonsense. And speaking of complete nonsense, Ro Khanna, who again, I've had on the show many times, the truth is I was never particularly impressed with him, but I'm more than happy to talk to these guys and have them explain themselves. And usually I felt that he didn't do a particularly good job of it. But interestingly, I haven't had him on in, I don't know, maybe eight months, a year or something like that. But I had him on a couple of times. He, at one point, I would say about a year ago, was trying to come off as a moderate.

7:38Whatever that slim sort of moderate Democrat might be, I'll still talk to both sides. I'm not a complete bananas lefty. He tried that. I honestly think he focus grouped it, and it didn't work. And he's going all in on the progressive lunacy without question. Here he is telling Fox Business' Maria Bartiromo that Obama, the guy who sent the plane load of cash to the mullahs, that he was way better on Iran than Trump. Are you suggesting that Obama's leadership on Iran was better? Because under President Obama, there were 14 wire transfers to a Swiss account linked to Hezbollah between 2014 and 2016.

8:20That was a total of$1.7 billion. The same$1.7 billion he told Congress was frozen Iranian assets. Now, there was a back channel to Tehran through Valerie Jarrett, active for 2012 to 2024. This was after he left office. So, you know, it was almost like a shadow government. He also sent pellets of cash in a plane to Iran. Now, Barack Obama was a great statesman who left America much safer. I wouldn't put Donald Trump in the same paragraph. Bro, I'll talk directly to you. And if you wanna do the show again, I'll say it to your face. Like what has happened to you, man? And I know what's happened. I just laid it out.

8:59You thought that you could pretend to be moderate, but you are unmasking yourself across the board. And that's why all the Silicon Valley guys are turning on you now and exposing you for the radical you are. Obama was a statesman. What do you mean he was a statesman? So 1.7 billion to Hezbollah. Ask the people of Lebanon how that's working out. Then he sent, what was it? It was about, what was it, 40 million? 400. 400 million, quite literally, in a plane. I don't know. That's a lot of cash. You've got to stick on a plane and sent that over. How did that work out? Did any of that money get to the people?

9:32Everything that we did by unfreezing those funds funded terror. It funded the mullahs. It funded a regime that chanced death to America. Donald Trump is the only president who actually did what Obama and Bill Clinton and even Ronald Reagan, and Joe Biden, all these, Joe Biden don't. All those presidents for 40 plus years said, we are going to stop this regime. Donald Trump went ahead and did it, but what do you like because you're a Democrat? You just like people that say the right thing. So I'll give you this. Barack Obama would get up there and the suit fit and he's got nice white teeth and he knows how to read a teleprompter and it all seemed very nice, but the fruits of what he did were quite rotten.

10:18Let's jump over to another Democrat. This is Washington Representative Adam Smith, and he seems to think that the Iranians are telling the truth more than the White House. I would think it quite likely that Iran will not show up and negotiate, because what they've said about where negotiations are at has turned out to be a lot closer to the truth than anything coming out of the White House. So you believe Iran over the White House? Well, I wouldn't put it that way. I would put it exactly the way I just put it. Well, I wouldn't put it that way, although that is what I just said there. Conor, do we have any video of Iran telling the truth?

11:16Who's dead? Spirit. That video goes on for about a half hour. And yes, for those of you who are not native speakers, that is the parliament over there calling for death to America. Fortunately, most of those guys are dead now. I'm going to guess all of those guys in that video are probably dead. Now, interestingly, what happens here, so you've got Whoopi saying, oh my God, they're going to send your kids to Iran. Complete lie. You've got a Democrat representative, congressman, basically saying that we should believe Iran and don't believe the United States. And then I'm just gonna read a bunch of headlines.

11:46There's just a general thing in the ether right now that this is not going well. We'll start with Al Jazeera, which is of course the state run outlet from Qatar. Iran war live, Tehran spurns talks under threats. Trump says blockade stays. The Guardian, I'm just trying to give you, this is a panoply of things here, just so you get a sense of what media all over is talking about. The Guardian, Middle East crisis live. Iran claims it is new cards for the battlefield and ways talks in Pakistan. The New York Times, Iran war live updates. Uncertainty surrounds U.S. and Iran talks as ceasefire nears end.

12:19NBC News, live updates. Iran warns it has new cards on the battlefield. I'd like to see those cards. And peace talks uncertain ahead of ceasefire deadline. Well, that's how it works. Peace talks are uncertain. That's true. Bloomberg, Halliburton sees signs of oil rebound in North America as Iran war lifts prices. That's pretty good and true. All right. So what I wanted to show you there is everyone's sort of saying the same thing. Peace talks are uncertain. We'll see what happens. Okay, and that's within reason. That's fine, right? Like this is what negotiations are. Like what other headline would you guys want?

12:49They're meeting and we know what's gonna happen. No, but they frame everything as if all hell is about to break loose. And CNN, of course, and New York Times and all the usual suspects are doing this over and over again, almost to the point where it seems like they're rooting for Iran. And again, I think you can argue that a good portion of the DC elite, a good portion of the mainstream media the entire Democratic Party. I think they actually are rooting for a failure here by America. Well, what they want is a Donald Trump failure. And I don't know if they've connected that Donald Trump failure to what that would do to America if we were to fail here, which we will not.

13:27Here's Caroline Levitt calling out legacy media for basically rooting for Iran instead of the U.S. The American people want the truth. They definitely should not pick up the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal or watch CNN, especially these days in the midst of this incredibly successful military operation against Iran. It's almost like these legacy American media outlets were rooting for the Iranian regime over the American people, over our great United States military, because they are so rooted in their opposition to President Trump rather than seeking and reporting on the facts. The facts are the United States of America tonight have never been so close to making a truly good deal, unlike the horrific deal signed by Barack Hussein Obama than we are right now.

14:15Why? Thanks to President Trump's brilliant negotiating tactics. Yeah, I mean, it's actually true. Handing the mullahs cash, they've now admitted they were enriching uranium at higher levels. Clearly, they had a very intense ballistic missile program that fortunately we and the Israelis were able to take out very quickly. They just started to bomb a whole bunch of neighboring countries. These were not good people who, as Marco Rubio said, were getting close to the point of having a nuclear umbrella, meaning having enough defensive capabilities that for us to eventually take out the nukes would have caused much worse of a problem militarily and economically and everything else.

14:57So these guys don't want, there is a machine in place that does not want Donald Trump to get a win here. And if Donald Trump doesn't get a win here, America doesn't get a win. And if America walks away from this thing, losing, whatever that means. You know, there's no, as I said yesterday, I think a lot of people think wars are like basketball games. Like at the end, there's a, you know, the clock buzzer goes off and then there's a winner and a loser, like in the most clearest terms. And something has shifted, I think, as it pertains to war. back in the day, the Japanese, the Germans, there was a unilateral declaration of, oh, we lost the war, you won the war, we'll sign documents, borders are going to be redrawn, new leaders will come in, et cetera, et cetera.

15:43Wars don't seem to be like that. They're sort of low grade, kind of win, don't win, whatever. But what we are trying to do right now, and JD, I think right now, is on his way back to Pakistan, poor guy's third vacation in Pakistan in two weeks. What he's trying to do is get something on paper that hopefully people will stick with for some period of time. But the broader point of all of this is for everyone, everyone watching this at home right now, you know someone, whether it's in your family or at work or someone you're chatting with at a bar or whatever you're doing that is freaking out right now, that still thinks that, oh my God, Alex Jones said thermonuclear World War III is coming and Tucker Carlson wants 25th Amendment for Trump and all of these crazy things.

16:30And it's like, stop listening to the panicans. Here is Caroline Levitt again. To all the critics in the media, the Democrats, the panicans out there, you doubted he would win in 2016, and you were proven wrong. You doubted he would return to the Oval Office in 2024. You were proven wrong. I remember last year fighting with journalists from the podium about the president's ability to strike a deal to end the war in Gaza and bring home all the hostages. And again, they were proven wrong. I suspect this time is going to be no different, Sean. Yeah, yeah. And you know what? When Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and Autopen were running stuff over at the Oval Office, not only was the Gaza war raging on, all they kept doing was saying don't to the Israelis.

17:13And fortunately, they ignored them and they killed Sinwar in Rafa. Remember Kamala Harris, I studied the maps, don't do it. And Netanyahu is like, well, the leader's over there and we think we might be able to get some of our people out. So we're going to go ahead and do it. And then Trump comes in office. He applies pressure, military pressure. And then what happens? That war gets wrapped up. This is the very same people who said that was never going to happen are now saying this is a freaking disaster. So have a little like don't fall for the same old. What did George Bush say? Fool me once, fool me twice.

17:47I don't get fooled. I'm a fool. Who the fool? Who the? You the fool? You get it, right? Like every time, guys, it's the same thing. Rinse and repeat. And also just remember that the mainstream media lies about virtually everything and certainly virtually everyone who doesn't behave as they wish. Listen to this headline from the New York Post. FBI Director Cash Patel sues the Atlantic slash reporter for$250 million over a story alleging excess drinking and mysterious substances. Here is Kash Patel, again with Maria Bartiromo, talking about this incoming lawsuit. So you're going to sue them? Absolutely.

18:30It's coming tomorrow. Tomorrow you will be dropping a lawsuit against The Atlantic Magazine. Yes, yes, I will, for defamation. And because, you know what, Maria? We have to fight back against the fake news. It's one of the many things that President Trump is so successful at in leading out on, because no one is attacked as baselessly as he is and as much as he is. And our leaders that get attacked under his brilliant leadership must do the same. And I won't tolerate their attacks on me because they are indirect attacks on the men and women of the FBI that we've cleaned up. You know, what's interesting about this is, so look, I don't have any insider knowledge on this, but basically the article claimed that cash was like constantly wasted and passed out and people had to break into rooms to get him and that there was some kind of substance abuse and everything else.

19:14He's suing. So, you know, when you sue, now there's going to be discovery. They're going to need to show evidence and everything else. My general suspicion here would be that if any of it was true, that he wouldn't be doing that because it would make him look pretty bad if there was any evidence that he had done any of these things. But the broader point, whether the lawsuit works or not, the broader point is he's right. What they're trying to do is you go after him. It's really a way of getting Trump and it's a way of getting the FBI and everything else. And let me just say, you know, when it comes to suing mainstream outlets or when it comes to suing anyone that says or prints something, we have very, very strict laws around libel and slander.

19:52You want those laws to be as liberal in the good sense of the word, as liberal as possible, because you don't want, you know, let's say on this show I call someone a blank or I make you think the word, you know, think about that. And like, you don't want everybody that you, just because somebody says something about them or it's sarcastic or a joke or even an accident, or just because they said something mean, you don't want everyone suing everybody. That would be the biggest chill on free speech possible. But every now and again, if a major outlet like the Atlantic, which has a long track record now of just being a crap factory, if they in essence have made up a story about him and he knows they have, well, then it's worth threatening them with the$250 million lawsuit and we shall see what happens.

Okay, so let's put aside the panic-ins for a second. Let's put aside the, let's say, manipulative mainstream media, and let's figure out where are we at with all of this. Well, here is Donald Trump telling CNBC's Joe Kernan that, well, we might start bombing again if you guys don't sign a deal.

21:49And I would say, consistent with everything we know about Donald Trump, this is called leverage. You don't send your guys over there and be like, you know, we're not gonna bomb anymore, So just see if you guys can work it out. This is Trump being Trump. Go. You're saying that you need a at least the prospects for a signed deal today and tomorrow or else you would resume bombing Iran. Well, I expect to be bombing because I think that's a better attitude to go in with. But we're ready to go. I mean, the military is raring to go. They are absolutely incredible. I really, like, I love this guy. He even tells you that's a better attitude to go in with.

22:34Meaning, he's not really saying, I want to bomb the crap out of this place. What he's saying is, fella, I have to say this so that it exerts some pressure on them because you go into a negotiation with leverage. That's the point. And what's the ultimate leverage? Well, it's a big-ass bomb. Here is, I'm gonna show you a Trump Truth Social post and there's gonna be some audio on this about what's going on right now with the strait. Take a look. United States warship 115, you are entering an area of a military blockade. This blockade of Iranian port will be enforced and applies to all vessels regardless of flying.

23:14Any vessel that further intends, enter or exit an Iranian port will be subject to the right, a visit and search in accordance with international... So did you get that right there? That's a ship going through the port, an Iranian ship, and that's one of our guys telling them, hey, we're in charge of this operation right now. And people tend, it's sort of like Trump negotiating with a little threat of war. People tend to listen to you when you have a big gun with a lot of bullets hanging out of it. That's a better way to negotiate. Here's a bit more from the Department of War. Great rename on that one, Trump.

23:45Overnight, US forces conducted a right of visit maritime interdiction and boarding of the stateless sanctioned M.T. Tiffany without incident in the INDOPACOM area of responsibility. As we have made clear, we will pursue global maritime enforcement efforts to disrupt illicit networks and interdict sanctioned vessels, providing material support to Iran anywhere they operate. International waters are not a refuge for sanctioned vessels. The Department of War will continue to deny illicit actors and their vessels freedom of maneuver in maritime domain. So as I'm showing you the video and I'm reading that thing, who do you think is in charge right now?

24:21Who do you think has leverage right now? We control the strait. Iran cannot get its oil out. And at some point, Iran needs that cash. It's about$500 million a day that they would normally be exporting. If they don't have that cash, they can't pay their civil servants, you can't pay whatever remains of your military, et cetera, et cetera. Your economy will collapse. So now when these third, fourth tier guys show up in Pakistan, and they're like, and they're sitting there, and there's JD, and there's Witkoff, and Kushner, whoever, And they're going, you know, man, we thought we had these guys by the balls.

24:56You know, it seems like Americans don't have an appetite for war or anything. But we can't even get any cash right now because they control our oil. And really, without controlling oil, we don't have anything. Well, then we have the power. That is the point. Here's a bit more from Fox. This is Jackie Heinrich on JD for his third vacation in two weeks to Pakistan. A source familiar tells Fox, the vice president, J.D. Vance, the vice president, Steve Whitcoff, and Jared Kushner are going to be leaving the U.S. for Islamabad soon, even though the Iranians are threatening not to show up to these negotiations unless the U.S.

25:34removes this naval blockade. The tension is very high after American forces seized an Iranian-flagged sanctioned vessel that tried to blast through the blockade this weekend. All right. So I suppose we will find out probably in the next 48 hours if the Iranians will show up. But if you think that Donald Trump is going to be like, oh, the Iranians aren't showing up, let's open the strait. Let's just be nice to them and open the strait. You are bananas, right? He has leverage and he's using leverage. And at the same time, he's sending our guys to talk and saying, if you want to talk, show up. That's where we're at right now.

26:11Here is senior military analyst James Stavridis talking to Cassie Hunt over on CNN about what he thinks the chances are a deal will be coming relatively quickly. Are you confident that you understand who in the Iranian apparatus is making these decisions and how that's interacting with President Trump's bluster? That's the biggest question in the room. what is the authority, Nick said it, that the leader of the Iranian delegation walks into this with. If he has the authority to cut a deal, you can sort of see the shape of a deal. What are the chances of that? I think probably two in three right now, 65 percent.

26:53They're not sending the vice president over there to walk away again. They really think there'll be a deal. I think there's a two and three chance we get to it. Fair enough. All right. I think that's pretty decent analysis for CNN, which is not known for that, right? First, he addresses what I've said all along, which is, you know, who are we negotiating with? We know some of the names now, but like, do they have the authority? Like we've slaughtered so many of the leaders. It's like, we're throwing people there. Do they have the gravitas? Do they have the control and the will of the people so that they will be able to negotiate?

27:25That's one portion of it. Let's assume the answer is yes on that. Well, then they also know that they don't have any leverage when it comes to oil or money anymore. Their military's gone. So his estimate is 65 % chance. And I'm pretty sure Trump, that JD is not like, hey, Don, could you send me back to Pakistan? I want to hang out on the beach on Islamabad and we'll see what happens. No, we're sending him back to make a deal. Now, whether the Iranians will come in and concede, right? Concede, guys. That's what you got to do at this point, like give us what we want. You have no leverage. That remains to be seen.

28:00Here's a bit more from Trump on what he needs to see out of that deal. The deal that we are making with Iran will be far better than the JCPOA, commonly referred to as the Iran nuclear deal, penned by Barack Hussein Obama and sleepy Joe Biden, one of the worst deals ever made having to do with the security of our country. It was guaranteed road to a nuclear weapon, which will not and cannot happen with the deal we're working on. They actually gave$1.7 billion in green cash loaded into a 757 and flown to Iran for Iranian leadership to spend any way they saw fit. He emptied out all of the cash from banks in DC, Virginia and Maryland.

28:36Those bankers said they've never seen anything like it before. In addition, hundreds of billions of dollars was paid to Iran. If I did not terminate that deal, nuclear weapons would have been used on Israel and all over the Middle East, including our cherished US military bases. The fake news, like lightweight Washington Post journalist David Ignatius, loves to talk about the JCPOA, knowing that it was dangerous and a complete embarrassment to a country. If a deal happens under Trump, it will guarantee peace, security, and safety, not only for Israel and the Middle East, but for Europe, America, and everywhere else.

29:06It will be something that the entire world will be proud of instead of the years of embarrassment and humiliation that we have been forced to suffer due to an incompetent and cowardly leadership, President Donald J. Trump. So look, Obama did get a piece of paper signed. That's what the JCPOA was. They got a piece of paper. And you have to say, okay, well, the Iranians, were you going to abide by that? We now know they were enriching over the limits that they were allowed. And we paid them tons of money to do it. So you can either choose lip service, or you can eventually do some stuff. And sometimes it's going to be a little bit ugly and everything else.

29:40And as I've said for the last 40 days. I am somewhat sympathetic to the, say, most libertarian leaning person who just is an isolationist and doesn't want us involved in anything. I think it's a sort of seventh grade view of the world. But I can be sympathetic to, oh, Donald Trump said no forever wars, and now we're in a war. But the point is, this has been a 35 day war now with a military portion that is mostly over, probably. We'll see what happens. And an economic war that is now happening, which ultimately will lead to a more peaceful world and get a regime that has been the number one state sponsor of terror to play ball with the rest of the world.

30:21And then maybe we'll have something a little closer to world peace. I think it's possible. Am I just a dreamer? I didn't even smoke weed on 420, but maybe it's possible. Guys, let's talk about Tax Network USA and then a bit more on all this stuff. Do you owe back taxes or have unfiled returns? No matter how it started, the problem's only going to get worse. Penalties grow, interest adds up, and the IRS is already taking action through wage garnishments, bank levies, and more. That's where Tax Network USA can help. With over 15 years of experience, they specialize in resolving back taxes and unfiled returns.

30:58They've handled thousands of cases and resolved over$1 billion in tax debt nationwide. Right now, they're offering a free investigation call with the IRS to review your situation and create a clear path to get you back on track. Don't wait for another IRS notice or worse. Call 866-685-6604. That's 866-685-6604. Or visit TNUSA.com slash Dave. All right, just a little bit more on what's going on with Iran and the blockade. and then we'll move to some other parts of the world, which I do think are connected, particularly this Cuba thing that seems like it's about to happen. Here's a bit more from Trump on truth.

31:35The Iranian leadership has forced hundreds of ships towards the United States, mostly Texas, Louisiana, and Alaska, to get their oil. Thank you very much. So you see what's happening here? People, do we have video? I think we have video of empty oil tankers, which are now on the way to us. In other, a few weeks ago, they might've got their oil in other ways, But now we have Venezuelan oil and we have plenty of our oil and countries are sending oil tankers to us to get oil. And you know what they do when they get that oil? They pay us cash and that's pretty good. Empty oil tankers are making their way to the United States of America.

32:12Sixty eight of those hundred and twenty one vessels are very large crude carriers capable of carrying two million barrels apiece. President Trump has urged countries squeezed by Iran's disruption of the Strait of Hormuz to turn to American energy supplies instead. Well, it would appear perhaps they are obliging him. They are listening to Trump. The president told Fox, quote, China can send their ships to the U.S. China can send their ships to Venezuela, while also saying that empty oil carrying ships from many nations are all headed to the U.S. to load up. Guys, do you get it? Do you get what is happening here?

32:52Now that we have this leverage, this blockade over the Strait of Hormuz, virtually everybody is coming to us for oil. And we are saying to China, we control that thing. And guess what? They can sign a deal and if they break it, we could control it in a month from now. right? We could just start the blockade all over again. So perhaps China will have to buy oil from us. And you know, if China has to buy oil from us, they might be less inclined to do crazy things like, I don't know, go for Taiwan. So there has been another, there has been the immediate game of what's happened on the ground of Iran here.

33:27But as I have said, for the 40 freaking days of this thing, I think this had way more to do with Donald Trump looking at the globe, looking at what's going on with China and realizing this is America's last chance to remain the one superpower because if we didn't, then we were going to be at odds with China that probably would have just kept encroaching, encroaching, encroaching. This also has to do with why Trump wants to get Greenland. You don't want to let Russia keep encroaching and now Canada's become useless and that's our only buffer between us and Greenland, but that's a whole other side issue.

33:59Here's director of the National Economic Council, Kevin Hassett, talking about what this is about to do to the energy sector in the United States. Once this is resolved, think about how much energy production in the Gulf area has been depressed over time because of the huge risk premium associated with Iranian misbehavior. And so once this thing is done, think about the explosion in new energy production that can happen in the Middle East, driving prices way, way down over time, including in the U.S. The final thing I can say is that if you look at the ship traffic data is kind of like every empty vessel on Earth is headed towards the U.S.

34:37to fill up with oil right now. So the U.S. is the biggest oil producer on Earth. And the capacity that we have to meet the demand of people who are stuck in that picture that you're showing, I think is a positive surprise for markets. I like that guy. I like someone who can talk about oil with a smile. You know, it's like what he's saying is basically, look, everyone's coming to us for oil right now because the strait is closed. But once we get a deal here and the strait reopens, well, suddenly all these other countries in the Middle East that just realized that the old regime in Iran wasn't good, they knew it the entire time, maybe didn't want to say it too much, but they've been sort of living under the shadow of the Iranian regime.

35:15Well, once that's gone, they'll be able to unlock their own energy. And then once those countries are doing a little bit better economically, first off, when you're doing better economically, it's good for people, right? It's just good. It's just a good engine that gets societies to start moving. But then when things are working and you have oil fields that are pumping and everything else, you'll be less inclined to all fight with each other. You can start with an economic piece first. So that is completely right. Now, what else is going on in the world? Because Trump has said repeatedly that he may move on from this thing and move to the next thing.

35:48And the next thing likely is Cuba. We went in, took about two hours, got Maduro out of Venezuela. and things seem to be going quite well regarding that right now. Here is Fox reporting that Rubio has sent a delegation over to Havana and they will see what happens. Stay tuned. Department confirmed Secretary Marco Rubio dispatched a delegation of senior officials to negotiate in Havana. Last week, a U.S. government plane landed on the island nation's soil for the first time since 2016. As the U.S. fuel blockade worsens an already dire humanitarian crisis for Cuba's people, U.S. officials believe there is an opening to push communist leaders out.

36:34Quote, President Trump is committed to pursuing a diplomatic solution if possible, but will not let the island collapse into a major national security threat if Cuba's leaders are unwilling or unable to act. President Trump is reportedly considering a range of options from U.S. military intervention to U.S.-led regime change. So when you see a story like that, do you think, oh, my God, Trump wants to kill Cuban people? Trump wants to invade Cuba and take over Cuba and Trump's a mean man? Or is Trump going, boy, you know, communism, although it seems to be on its way up in New York, it doesn't work.

37:10And we've got this nation, Cuba, that's not too far from, quite literally, from where we are in Miami right now, and we might be able to fix the situation over there. And if we fix the situation over there, then there could be more trade. It would be good for the people. Again, an economic piece first. So he's going. So what's Trump doing? Trump 101. We're sending a delegation, first delegation in 10 years since 2016, according to that report. They're going to talk for a while. If it doesn't go well, then what's Trump saying? Well, we do have bombs and weapons, and look what we just did to Iran, so Cuba, your little tiny, teeny, tiny thing, Iran very big, so we could do some stuff to you.

37:49So I suspect that Iran will, that the Cuba situation will actually be wrapped up fairly quickly in a similar to a Venezuela situation, but we will see. Now, I want to show you one other piece on sort of the global scale, and then we'll take everything back to America, which is that the other thing that has happened during this Iran war is that Donald Trump, I think, has really, and America as a nation, has really realized who our useful allies are and who are allies in name only. Or as J.D. put it, so-called, not J.D., Pete Hegseth called it so-called allies. So we have so-called allies in Western Europe like the Brits, and this is not an attack on any of the people.

38:30It's an attack on the leadership. You know, the Brits and the French, the Spain has basically decided to completely step away and really not be an ally at all. But, you know, they like their little statements and their words and all of those things. They love paper, but they don't do anything when push comes to shove. They'll take our protection. They'll take our money. They'll take our soldiers and all the benefits that have working with America. But when we need something, they won't do anything. That's in contrast to several other countries, most notably, obviously, Israel, that when America's like, we're doing something, they get in on do it.

39:01They get in and join us for it. And as Hegs has said, it causes a force amplifier effect. What this is all really exposing is that NATO, which was basically brought in after World War II and an attack on any NATO nation is an attack on all. What it is now showing is that if the U.S. doesn't do anything, no one does anything. And NATO really is a sort of meaningless organization. Here is Bill O 'Reilly talking to my friend Bayangur Sargon about what is going on with NATO and Europe and what perhaps this is really all about internally in Europe. Where do we go from here when it comes to our European allies?

39:38Does it just go back to the status quo after a betrayal like that? No, that'll never happen. I mean, NATO is pretty much through as far as Donald Trump is concerned. But remember, the Gulf states have nothing to lose here. Nothing. They just want Iran out of there because Iran's been destabilizing them and causing them problems for decades. So it's not like they're stepping up with any kind of self-sacrifice. They're not. Europe is afraid of their Muslim population. That's a primary motivator in the UK and to some extent France and Germany. They have so many now Wahhabists in the country, in their own country.

40:24They fear them. And that is correct. And that is why Europe, 10 years from now, the whole world is just going to look very, very different. And America will probably be far safer. And believe it or not, the Middle East is going to be far safer because of what we've done with Iran now. And the Gulf states realize that, which is why the Gulf states are on our side and they're not against Israel anymore. And as I keep saying, I think it's pretty obvious there's going to be an expansion of the Abraham Accords and everything else. Europe, it's going to be a different situation. When you look at Keir Starmer, look at the guy.

40:56He looks like a deer caught in headlights. He is afraid of his own population. They brought in all these people. They don't know what to do about it. And then it causes them to be in a certain state of paralysis. So when the United States of America asks them to do something, they don't do it because they don't want to upset the people they just brought in. That was a hell of a Faustian bargain that they did. But let's leave all of the international stuff there. Let's jump back to our shores because there is some craziness coming out of Virginia right now involved regarding redistricting. Listen to this from Fox.

41:29Opponents of Virginia Democrats redistricting referendum are accusing Governor Abigail Spanberger of a bait and switch, pointing to her campaign trail pledge of no plans to redraw the state's congressional map ahead of Tuesday's vote. Former Virginia governors George Allen and Glenn Youngkin, along with a slew of top conservatives, have opposed the effort, which would redraw the Commonwealth 6-5 Democratic map to a 10-to-1 map crafted by Senate President L. Louise Lucas from Portsmouth and backed by Spanberger. So, Spanberger, who is a radical, a radical leftist, she had the tiniest patina of a moderate, so a kind of, but you could put her in sort of like the, I don't know, I guess that's the Josh Shapiro kind of Ro Khanna, like I'm not like a complete jihadist lunatic, but I am one of them, and said she was not going to redraw the maps the second she got power.

42:21They're going to go from 6-5 to 10-1. And then Virginia, which Virginia really should be a purple state. In some sense, it should really be a red state, but because of its proximity to D.C., you get so many D.C. people who are all Democrats living in Virginia that it becomes a little more blue. It should really be purple, but it will be perpetually blue if they redraw these maps. Here's Teemu Obama. He's very excited with all the emotion of what a humanoid robot can do in 2026. And we're urging everyone to vote yes to stop the MAGA power grab. And the voters of Virginia have an opportunity to ensure that there's a fair national congressional map because we believe that it's the voters of Virginia and the people of this country who should decide which party is in the majority in the aftermath of the midterm elections, not Donald Trump and his extreme MAGA sycophants and state legislative bodies across the country.

43:27Let's try it. We did it yesterday. It worked a couple times. Blank that guy. You did it again. He's calling this a MAGA power grab. They have to stop the MAGA power grab. The congressional map as it stands right now is 6-5. You guys are trying to turn it to 10-1. Look at that. Who do you think's doing the power grab? Is the guy doing the power grab, the guy who's just keeping it at a pretty much a 50-50 situation? Or is the power grab the governor who literally just got elected? I mean, she got elected a few months ago who said she wasn't going to redraw the maps, going to a 10 to 1 map. Who's doing the power grab?

44:07Do we have any video of a former president who I mentioned earlier, a guy with nice teeth, knew how to read a teleprompter, back in 2016 talking about gerrymandering versus what he thinks about gerrymandering now? Do we have one of those? I think we've got to end the practice of drawing our congressional districts so that politicians can pick their voters and not the other way around.

44:30What a bipartisan give to it. By voting yes, you can push back against the Republicans trying to give themselves an unfair advantage in the midterms. And we're counting on. Ten years ago, don't redraw the map, protect democracy. Now, redraw the map, protect democracy. It's just, it's too easy. And that's why they want to control the Internet, because all that video is out there. Of course, the Democrats are pretty terrible. and often the Republicans are just slightly better and occasionally they're slightly worse. John Thune, oh John Thune, the guy who should be right now devoting his, he's just back from vacation, they all just came back from vacation and he should be devoting his life to getting the SAVE Act passed, to make sure we have free and fair elections where people have to show an ID and I know a black person would have to find a printer or something, but that would be what he should be devoting his life to.

45:26Instead, he's kind of punting it. Take a look. Their largest refund in years, money that is going toward paying down credit card debt, catching up on bills, padding saving accounts, or covering the cost of a vacation, end quote. Money that is going toward paying down credit card debt, catching up on bills, padding savings accounts, or covering the cost of a vacation. Mr. President, that was our goal with this bill. To take some of the pressure off. To free up money that families could use to do things like pay down debt or put away for a rainy day or take a much-needed vacation. Okay, I probably should have introed that clip slightly differently.

46:15So basically what he's talking about there are some of the tax benefits that Americans are getting right now through the big, beautiful bill. That's him on the floor of the House yesterday. And he, in essence, has now said that they are not going to push forward with the SAVE Act. He's really trying to move. He's saying, OK, we've done some good economic things, but we're really going to move on the FISA Act. That's the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978. Here's Mike Lee explaining it a bit more. The American people want the Save America Act. The swamp wants FISA 702 reauthorized without any meaningful reforms.

46:48The Senate is doing it exactly backwards. We've got to get back on the Save America Act. We've got to get it passed. And if one's going to take precedence over the other, it sure as heck shouldn't be the one that Americans hate and the D.C. swamp wants. Let's get back to work on the Save America Act. That's what the American people want. Mike Lee is great. We should have him back on. It's been a while. But there he's because, look, Thune is going in with a certain set of priorities right now. And right now, Thune is talking about redoing the FISA Act as opposed to focusing on the Save Act. That's what Mike Lee is pointing out right there.

47:21And the point is, if we do not have some sort of federal, we have to do it federally for federal elections. We have to do it federally because we know how corrupt the Democrat states are. We will not have free and fair elections anymore. And the Democrats have a slew of radical loony candidates that they are trying to bring in. And they are also trying to get the census redone, which will include all of the illegals. And then they'll have all sorts of people that will be voting that should not vote and more. I believe we have some video of some of these crazy Democrats. We've showed a little bit of this guy yesterday.

47:55This is Michigan Democrat senatorial candidate Abdul Al-Sayed. And he really doesn't like ICE because he likes illegals more than he likes American citizens. ICE cannot be reformed. ICE cannot be retrained. ICE must be abolished. All right, so this guy, ICE must be abolished. He's a generic, progressive, lefty Marxist, undoubtedly a Hamas supporter, all the usual stuff. The fact that that's just part of the ether now is kind of nuts. But they are making it clear. They don't want you to have an ID to vote. And also, they want to hamper the government organization that would get the illegals out.

48:37If you are a citizen of the United States and you vote for them, you should be sent to a mental institution. So I'm not for big government programs, but if you told me we should dedicate, I don't know, $75 trillion, let's say, to mental institutions where we could send Democrats, I would be for that. I'll even throw in the first 500 bucks, or even more. I'll put in$10 ,000 to have the Dave Rubin wing at the Democrats are psychotic lunatics mental institution of greater Michigan area. Here is Senator Cory Booker, and he seems like he's just emotionally fine. Ladies and gentlemen, there is a storm in our nation.

49:20There is darkness and wind. People are getting hurt. What we need is not from on high. We need foot soldiers of our democracy who, in times of trial, are willing to stand up. Will you stand for our democracy? Will you stand to get out the vote? Will you stand for our children? Will you stand up for our elders? And will you stand together, unified, strong, be the hope that people need? We are Democrats. It's time for a new deal. It's time to redeem the dream of America. Thank you. God bless you. I love you. Sir, this is a Wendy's. What is he screaming about? Corey, everything's fine. Now, I have a feeling I know what he's screaming about because Cory Booker, who's a lifelong bachelor, got married to a woman, very exciting, back in November of 2025, and here they are.

50:25That's Cory and his wife, the woman that he married because he's running for president, and it helps if you're a homosexual who's in the closet to marry a woman, and he's probably pissed because he has to lay in bed with a woman every night, and I don't think he likes women. That's not right. There are plenty of gay guys that like women. I don't think that he wants to sleep next to a woman all the time. So then he gets invited to a conference like that and he just starts screaming like an unhinged lunatic because he's venting all the emotions that he can't get out with that lady. Clip that, put that on the internet.

51:00Here's Kamala Harris and she just wants the Democrats to be more selfish. I think it's okay for us to be a bit transactional too. and to say, I'm going to get mine also.

51:15And so don't count on me to be a voter and be the backbone of the Democratic Party because it is my value system and my ethics and my sense of civic duty and responsibility so that you look at me and say, oh, they're going to vote. Oh, because of high level of character, which is to say I must conduct myself in a way that I honor the ancestors and all who have sacrificed before me. And so I will vote because it is my duty for all that paved the path for me to be here. But they count on that. I'm pretty sure when she's saying I'm going to get mine too, she's talking about Cory Booker's wife who ain't getting anything.

52:01But OK, the point of that, that ramblingly incoherent, it's just all this overly emotive, ridiculous. What are you talking about, lady? Man, did we dodge a bullet? That woman could have been president of the United States. It's just words. You know, it's so interesting. They think that they say that Donald Trump, Donald Trump's mean and authoritarian and everything else. Have you ever seen Donald Trump get on stage and scream the way Cory Booker just screamed? Have you ever once seen that? Can anyone think of one video like that, where he was so emotionally unregulated that he acted like Cory Booker?

52:32He can't. Now can you think, for all the time, Donald Trump rambles and brr-brr-brr. Can you think of any time where Donald Trump rambled in any way that would come close to what she just did right there? These people are insane. They live in an alternate universe. I will now up, what did I say,$10 ,000 for the Dave Rubin wing at the, $20 ,000 for the Dave Rubin wing at the, What was it? The Democratic Insane Asylum. Where does Batman put the Arkham Asylum for the criminally insane Democrats who often are complete lunatics? Interestingly, Democrats also shoot drugs into dogs.

53:15OK, OK. I talked about this on Monday's First Look. By the way, if you haven't checked out our Monday First Look podcast, every morning at 4.45 a.m., we put out 10 minutes of just straight news if you just want something nice and easy, you know, without a lot of commentary, just like just enough for you to have some coffee, walk your dog, have a little bit of info. It's on your YouTube feed, Rumble, Spotify, et cetera, et cetera already. Anyway, they are the Democrats, great people. They are now taking the fentanyl that they're bringing in with the illegals and the crack and everything else, and they're injecting it into dogs to make sure that the drugs are okay.

53:49Here's Will Cain on that. We turn to a deeply disturbing story out of Los Angeles. Reports that homeless people on Skid Row are using dogs to test their drugs. It's an allegation raising serious concerns about animal abuse. A nonprofit called Starts With One Today has been working on the streets for years, providing food and caring for pets. And they say what they're seeing now is worse than ever. quote, every day we get another call saying people are trying to sell their dog for drugs and this dog is dying on the streets. We try to come every Sunday and all we see are dogs being bred, dogs being abused and neglected.

54:29Okay. So, you know, there is something, there's a weird thing that happens with humans. We've all experienced this where like, you know, you see a bunch of homeless people and in some sense you can't fully emote with it properly, maybe because it's so deeply depressing or something. Um, so sometimes you can almost, and I'm sure I'm victim of this, like you can almost come off cold when you're talking about homeless people. And then you see a dog, a stray dog, or you see a dog with a homeless person, and then you have this other, much more human, ironically, emotion about what's going on there.

54:59Here is footage of some of the dogs in Skid Row. It's okay, buddy. Womp, womp, womp.

55:09Look at his leg.

55:32Oh

55:44I mean, really, how crazy is this? So you've got these people that are drugging these dogs to test the drugs. They're keeping them in these cages. They're tying them up together. All of these things. And by the way, that was just on the sidewalk. There's supposed to be businesses in these places. A lot of Skid Row is sort of downtown. And remember what was it that Karen Bass said a couple months ago? She was like, oh, well, there is all the drugs and the homeless and everything, but not a lot of people live downtown. Well, that's kind of true. but you know there's sporting events that happen downtown and some people do live downtown and regardless of whether it was one or a million people that lived downtown do you want to live in a place like that and it just it's a choice you people have chosen to let things get worse and there is one guy we've talked about him quite a bit on today's show he's an orange guy with fluffy hair who has chosen to fight for america relentlessly and he's the only one that could have stood up to this entire machine the entire time.

56:36And now he has a limited amount of time left. If the midterms don't go well, he's only got about six months left. And we will rue the day that he is gone because it will get much worse. I promise you that. Here is Victor Davis Hanson on Donald Trump. What I learned was that after I went through the whole four trials, the de-balloting, the raid on Mar-a-Lago, I don't think anybody alive could have taken that typo. I've forgotten what they said about him, what they did about him, how outrageous it was, how crazy it was. And the two impeachments, he's taken a level of abuse and not the two assassination attempts.

57:18It's really remarkable. It is remarkable. So if you're a Panikin right now or you're friends with a Panikin, understand it could get a lot worse and really quick. If you're on the right and you're pissed about the Iran war and you say, all right, I'm not going to vote in the midterms or I'm going to abandon Trump or whatever, not only will Donald Trump be impeached, the Republican party will completely collapse because there will be a fight like you can't even imagine for the next leader, right? And the factions will all split. But what will be the real result of all of that? we will become a communist country.

57:56That is what the Democrats are right now. Right now, remember, you don't have to track this very long. Five years ago, Bernie, we're Democrat socialists. And what did I say then? They will drop Democrat. And now what are they? They are socialists, right? Mondami gets up there and says, I'm a proud socialist. I promise you in three years from now, they will say they are communists. And they will have used all of our systems against us to usher in what quite literally the founders of this country intended on avoiding. And we'd have to tip our cap to them for doing it. I would prefer not to go that route.

58:30I hope you would. So let's get cracking. Post game show, 30 seconds. RubenReport.locals.com. Goodbye.
